We went for lunch and ordered the set menu. Food was good. I especially like the meat curry. The fish curry had a nice coconuty sauce, but it was a bit too fishie.

Great place to relax. No pressure. Great view. Many good quality bites with specific flavours, non standard food to share. Free water and bread. Kids like it too. You could be here also with couple of friends. Sometimes, when crowded, you share a table. I prefer outside.

I am very surprised that no one mentions at the reviews that the menu says “shared food” and then says “at least for two people” , which means “too much food for one”, prices available, but when the times comes for paying… the shared food price is per person. No sane person writes down the price for shared meals and then charges double… either write “food for two people 64e” or write “price per person”…. It’s quite shocking having to pay double of what you thought you’d pay.Some people cannot afford that, you know. I really felt being scammed. Half of the food plates are tasty, half are not seasoned well. Stuff is nice and friendly.

Good, fresh, refined and accessible food. LOVE coming here for the mezze-lunch. My absolute favourite place, I wish I could visit more often. Highly recommended!! Oh, and definitely takes allergies and such into account. Big bonus for whom that matters for!

I was here with my friends for dinner. Firstly the ambience was the best here. We had two Chef special platter. The food was average, nothing great or you crave for. In the plater we had some prawns, chicken and coconut curry based dish. There was some sesame bread as starters with a special dip (which was the best among the food). Their fish salad was also nice. I didn't enjoy the food much here, maybe because of the cusine.

I haven't eaten this good in such a nice restaurant in a while! Service was great and very friendly! Food was delicious and they have more then two veggie options (and not just goat cheese with walnut and honey) and the dessert was devine. Also the restaurant itaelf looked so so nice. It was open and spacious, but also romantic. Really enjoyed our stay here

Nice place to sit but the ovens are not used for food. I understood some restriction with the local government. I was confused with the name a bit expected more meat or so. Only meat was dear. No beef at all? Good selection of wine per glas. Open kitchen definitely a plus! Really friendly people.

The location is really nice and service is really good. The food is beautiful prepared! I appreciated the view on the kitchen but I do not understand the prices of the dishes. For my point of view is too high. I had mainly vegetables and two pieces of meat that can not justify the price (I understand that are biological ingredients). The taste of dishes is good but nothing exceptional. I find all single ingredient separated from the other one. Please to improve your dishes, I know you can do it!

Very cosy restaurant with unique wood-fired furnaces/smokers. They have a different menu very often (or daily, not sure). They had choices in meat, fish or vegetarian for all three courses. Each course is also supplied with a wine suggestion. The price level is a bit above average (50€/per person for 3 courses), but definately worth it. The place is bigger than the pictures suggest. We reserved a seat using the form on the website, to which we got a quick response. They gave us seats directly by the furnaces and the open kitchen. This was a very nice view, although a tshirt is a good clothing choice for these seats. Other seats are cooler.

Delicious, great atmosphere, attentive staff. We were here for dinner so I can't comment on lunch. I'm surprised by the comment in another review that the portions are small. The starters are small-ish (well, they are starters after all...) but the mains are substantial and come with roasted vegetables and a dish of roasted potatoes. Prices are very fair.

The place and the concept is really nice located in old factury. But unfortunately the food wasn't that great. Nice presented but my meat came lukewarm and the beaf not tender at all. We told the waitress and barely had apologies.

We have been visiting Amsterdam and Utrecht and this was by far our favorite gem to stumble upon! Amazing atmosphere, drinks, and staff! While the outdoor dining is beautiful, the indoor space is a must. Run to try this spot!

The nicest Italian people, they helped us with many questions about what to do and we talked a lot about everything with them! The carbonara was richisimo!

It’s located in small ally with big outside and inside dining area. It’s ideal for gathering , cocktails and small bites. We enjoyed sitting outside with the family and have our drink and starters. However serving time for food was extremely long! It took the kitchen almost 70 min to serve the main dish! Which is not ideal when you coming for dinner. The interior of the RESTURANT is stunning. Staff were friendly and nice.

Real cozy square of Amersfoort. The grilled salmon was really good, together with a simple thing as a grilled carrot. Everything smoky but not too much. Grilled veggies were all yummy. Cheesecake desert with Bastogne cookies and warm cherries was real good. Cocktails, Amaretto Sour, Mojito, were a 7/10. I like the ice and mint crushed. Lots of restaurants don’t do that.

Dinner (reserved a table couple of days before) at a regularly busy Saturday night while a bachelor party gone rogue. Not quite the quickest service. However, the staff stayed very friendly and resolved the long waiting times with free drinks. Reasonably good food (bistro style), very decent cocktails and ambience.

The service was super slow, and I mean it. Like incredibly slow. First, we were waiting for our drinks, then we were waiting to order food, next we were waiting for our food. Approx. an hour passed from the time we arrived until we received our food. Food was average, a few pieces of beef and some salat on bread which didn't seem fresh. Flammkuchen was a joke. I don't recommend this place at all.

Pretty cool space, a little bit too much with the confusing decoration but also fun. Didn’t tried the food so cannot say about it. Had just a glass of wine that took long enough to arrive for just a glass with a not at all full bar. Suitable for people with mobility difficulties.

I am so pleased that I chose to go to Stadscafé in Amersfoort… it was the perfect experience. Set in the square with beautiful shady trees and alfresco dining … with the tall tower standing sentinel over everyone and emitting beautiful chimes and lovely songs. The staff were incredibly helpful, happy and friendly . My Eggs Benedict on avocado was delicious. as were the two Chai lattes. when I said to one of the waiters that I could quite happily live right there, he said well we have a bed upstairs . He then stopped and chatted for about five minutes. Everyone in Holland is friendly and happy. It is an amazing country.

Very nice atmosphere with nice mocktail options.Burger was good with flavour but the burger patty was completely raw. I asked the waiter and he said that’s how they cook it. I would advise to mention how you’d like it cooked before ordering.

I have adopted this place as my home away from home, Café. I am here on a business trip for my husband. Each morning I have come for a cup of coffee, the great atmosphere, and the beyond amazing service provided by the server. She was present Mon - Thurs, and greeted each customer as if they were a close friend or family member. Always with a smile, and an upbeat attitude. They have an amazing Caesar salad.

A fantastic dining place in the heart of the church square, set in a lively courtyard with indoor as well as outdoor seating. -Service was great and the staff were very helpful and attentive -The location is conveniently close to Amersfoort station, a ten minute walk -They have a great selection of wines and beers, as well as finger foods -Even without a reservation we were able to get a table, but sometimes there might be a wait -Great to visit after 5 pm when the area becomes lively, especially on a sunny evening

De Boot Hap & Tap is a really nice stylish location that will think along with your wishes. I enjoyed my babyshower here with a group of friends. Everybody enjoyed it a lot, although we had a slight misunderstanding with the food.

What an amazing service and high quality food. At arrival we got an explanation from the waitress about the unique concept of this restaurant. Everything is made fresh and has loads of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. It’s great if you want to eat in a one of a kind restaurant where you can look outside and see swimming ducks up close😊I loved it all!

Fine restaurant with high quality beer and wide range of beers. Not happy from stuff. We have been there for an hour waiting. At the beginning table was dirty so I asked to clean that mess. Waiter was unpleasant that I want something from him and he has started cleaning tables which were free and let us wait with that dirty table like he is not there to clean tables… that was really stupid from him as he looked like very young boy/child. After that we took two beers and as waiter was unpleasant we left and ordered meal in Charlies restaurant next to this. I would really recommend think about how they behave to customer.

Ended up with a burger, but had 3 different, really nice beers from the area. Big, nice patio with big umbrellas that covered us from the rain. Highly recommend this place!

Beautifully decorated for the holidays. I ordered the surprise 3-course meal off the menu. The chefs did not disappoint. All 3 courses were delicious.

Great place to eat dinner as well as have an evening in the terrace. It can get busy during the weekend so make sure to reserve if it is a big group. Consider coming mid afternoon and having some drinks outside if the weather allows ( covered terrace and the wind will not get you). Their Tenerife mule is delicious if you want a mild cocktail. Good qualify coffee drinks and a great espresso martini too.

Amazing cheesecake and delightful atmosphere.

We had a dinner for 4 with starters, 2 bottles of mid range wine and a single desert. Honestly I thought the food was pretty tasty and the meet cooked very well - the portions for the price are probably stretching the edges of acceptability but at least what we got was good to eat. (total bill 300 euros, which you can take a judgement on re: value as I am a visitor to the Netherlands) Sadly the staff seemed tired and I think glad to get the weekend over with. We were out in a side area which had a squeaky slam door to the store room next to it, which was a little distracting. At one point i did have to get up to order deserts after waiting more than 15 minutes for the staff to come over - is that too long? it felt it at the time tbh. They didn't worry about getting our coats on the way out but luckily i could see where they were hanging, so able to retrieve them. The waitress was busy on her phone and chef looked like he was ordering next weeks veg on his laptop, so they had things to do. I think ordinarily this is a very well run place with good service, so thing we were just there at the wrong moment. The value for money thing is a personal judgement - what you get is tasty.

Main dishes were good but all had some (small) issue: - Haas sate was a bit over cooked buy not super warm - fish of the day was a bit too "fishy" in taste - duck breast was quite small (more like 1/2 breast or less. We had bao bun and burger, the fried chicken in bao bun is really great and the combination taste is good. Unfortunately the burger is a bit dry, but in general the atmosphere is nice and we enjoyed the food!

Last weekend, we ordered 5 small dishes to share (2 people) and it was an amazing meal. After every bite we told each other that this was also delicious. I would recommend this place to have dinner but also definitely to order for take away, you can not make this quality at home. (unfortunately we didn't take picture because we were focused on enjoying the food)

I went to Tjommies for the Expats Amersfoort monthly meetup. The guys were very friendly and opened taps for each one of us to be easier with payment. The decoration felt more like home and I loved the view from the canal. I have fond memories from the place and I will come back again.

Excellent choice of beers on tap, even one of their own (apart from the lager maybe, the Kornuit's bit bland), good snacks and sandwiches & a nice vibe. Most of the punters fall in the creative/millennial category, but don't let that put you off. They're relaxed and friendly and it's perfectly alright to show up as an old geezer and a five year old after a visit to the Saturday market on the Hof. It's what we do and we always feel very welcome. Available board games & best sunshine in central Amersfoort from 11 to 14 big bonus.

Tjommies is an amazing new cafe in Amersfoort, where you can find phenomenal lunches (try the Tjommies tosti with bobotie) and a variety of beer matched only by cafes in Amsterdam. The Tjommies Rooibos Saison which was brewed for them specially is delicious. The bar is filled with plants, arts, and beautiful African and Arabic details. The music is always on point, and the staff is friendly and extremely professional! Cannot recommend Tjommies more!

Nice bar. Bands and djs change and not consistent in terms of how good, so sometimes good and sometimes can be really bad. Same goes to bartenders, some are amazing and other helpers walking around can be rude! Overall, good.

Live music bar in centre of Amersfoort. Beer lovers stay away, the beer menu is small and never changes. If you like live music this is your place however. The quality is always good especially when compared to other bars in Amersfoort. I especially like the Sunday Afternoon Jazz. On fri and sat night it gets ridiculously crowded, something I do not enjoy. On Sunday there is an older and less busy crowd. The music varies between jazz and blues.

Live music and reasonably priced drinks, though a bit in the high end. Once the band stops playing the atmosphere is more that of a club. Worth checking out, especially the live offerings. There are some true gems there once in a while.

A live music pub / café centrally located in Amersfoort with the feel of a small nightclub. Great for a night out in the weekend. Has a small stage for live music acts and some space for dancing. Draws a diverse crowd from all ages. Worth a visit. Has artists playing most days of the week, check the schedule on their website.

It's a decent place to go out. However if you go there be prepared for a lot of people. it really is very crowded. If you wanna go out its a nice place. If you wanna have a good talk while having a drink, do t go here.

Very convenient spot to all the attractions, shopping and cafe. Room was clean and quite spacious. We had a shower in our room without the toilet. Shared toilet was just right outside the room so it was still convenient and very clean. The best of the stay is really the staff, very approachable and helpful and always prompt. We had too many luggages with us and they move them up and down so quickly!

Great place to stay, eat and drink. Amazing staff, so nice and welcoming. I loved every bit of this short stay. The room was a bit small for a big guy like myself, but as soon as I hit the bed, it fell like heaven. So comfortable. Special thanks to Julie to making us feel at home. The room I stayed in was very clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and a well-kept bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was tasty, and the staff were all incredibly friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and there's a good chance I'll stay there again!

We recently stayed at Long John's, but due to a staff party, the bar and restaurant were closed. With our itinerary packed full—exploring the beautiful area of Amersfoort—we didn’t have time to eat or drink there the next day either. However, what I can definitely praise is the wonderful lady who checked us in while the staff were away, as well as the fantastic building and the comfortable room we stayed in. Amersfoort is a lovely place, and if you're lucky enough to visit, I highly recommend giving Long John's a try. We'll certainly be returning!

The thing I want to start with, even if the bathroom is in common, it is VERY CLEAN. Like you don’t have to worry about it. Also the hotel room, super clean, nice view, the beds are soooo fluffy and comfortable. You are right in the center of Amersfoort. You also have the breakfast option. And the staff is very polite and nice .

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a spot for some drinks & dinner. A great find. Welcoming & cosy. Good music played throughout. Friendly staff. It was a weekday so it was pretty quiet. Enjoyed a couple of craft draught beers & then a cheeseburger for dinner. Simple & yummy. Well seasoned patty. Fries were good too. As a night cap had the chocomel with rum & whipped cream. Boy what a drink. A definite must order. Great end to the night. Spent like 2 hours here soaking in the atmosphere. Happy I went in as there were many cafes all around. Highly recommend.

Beer heaven in the Netherlands! So many amazing European beers on tap and in bottle. Along with a great selection of imported beers. An cosy indoor setting with a spacious outdoor beer garden with large and small tables for all sizes of groups. Tried my first Westvleteren 12 here, very special experience. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Amersfoort.

Helped by the weather, had a very agreeable time on Fat King's terras situated on a cosy enclosed city square. Large choice of beers and other drinks available with good advice from friendly, skilled staff.

I'm always glad to try a new craft beer (or two) and this place has a curated selection of over 600 of them, so there's no shortage of choice. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and all in all probably the best all around bier café I've frequented.

I went for a beer sitting outside on the terrace together with my dog. He's not allowed to drink beer so the nice man working there went for a bowl of water instead. I took a good look on the beerlist and ordered one, wich tasted great. A outstanding place to go for a special beer.

Fantastic establishment with great people, beer, music, and heart. The beer itself is top notch with an impressive amount of different styles to try, all great. The brewer doesn't necessarily love ipas, but sure knows how to make an lovely one! The CDA was a nice style to find, very well done as well. The brewer Ruud was very welcoming and made for great conversation. His passion for great beer comes through. The brewtender Aiden was also great to chat with and very welcoming. My wife and I are new to the area from Seattle (US) and look forward to returning and trying more of their beers and chatting them up!

Well, there is a reason why this taproom gets such high ratings: atmosphere is great, the beer, which is brewed by the owner tastes excellect and on top of that I also liked the music. The brewer himself was extremely friendly and explained how he brews his beer. All in all, well worth a visit and highly recommended!

My friend and I popped in during vinyl night on a Thursday. We had no idea what to expect, but we loved the vibe. It was so welcoming and accessible. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. We’ll definitely be back!

The beers here are some of the best in the country. Recommend the dark beer and number 5 beer. Great service and great beer. A must-visit in Amersfoort.

Beers were really nice, we had the five tasters as well. From the food choices only a part was available and was normal. Service was hopeless. Ordered some snacks before dinner, waitress forgot, lost her notebook, we added them digitally via the qr code, she did as well while we said we would do it ourselves, she then canceled all of the orders... 1h later we got our snacks. No real apology, though she ended up taking 1 snack off the total. Go for the beers, don't expect service and you are good. Toilets are available outside which is not nice in the winter.
