Nestled on St Albans Road, The Prince George is an upscale yet homely pub that perfectly blends classic dishes with a modern twist. Known for its inviting atmosphere, this family-run establishment offers a delightful menu featuring everything from creamy garlic chili prawns to hearty bacon and cheese burgers. Diners rave about the generous portion sizes and the quality of homemade meals that leave you wanting more.
This is a hidden Saffas pub. Amazing delisious, moerse lekker, food. The burger and Bunny chow sliders were the best. Can't wait to be back and try the Sunday roast. Mmm yummmm

Went for a Sunday Roast and was pleasantly surprised. Portion sizes were very good and food tasted fresh. Pints come to about £5 each, which is very reasonable. You’re looking to spend about £30 per head with lunch and a couple of pints.
Saawan J — Google review
Just had the most delicious meal at the World’s Best Pub. Family owned and run. Friendly, homely feel traditional English Pub “with a twist” Creamy Garlic Chilli Prawns, Bacon and Cheese Burger and delicious Goats Cheese Salad were outstanding
Mandy R — Google review
Our favourite place for a Sunday roast in the Watford area. We've been back here numerous times and have tried their sister pub Royal Oak. It is soo hearty and delicious. They do tasty a la carte / sides too. The staff are attentive and accommodating. They sometimes do special fresh cocktails like margaritas too. The prices are so reasonable too.
Puja G — Google review
Dropped by on a Friday evening and enjoyed an excellent meal, served promptly by friendly staff. Our dog was welcomed, toilet facilities were clean and well maintained and there was plenty of space to find a quiet corner. Only drawback is the limited parking locally.
Davina R — Google review
Part 2 Sunday roast - get the beef short rib. You won’t be disappointed Part 1 The Prince George is a great family run pub with a great South African Themed menu! Try the curry, it’s was so delicious with a big kick. My partner said the burgers always taste great. Haven’t been in a while but have been to a few Tuesday Night pub quizzes hosted by Adam. Always a great laugh! They have always been so accommodating when going with a friend which needed to have a Gluten Free menu, they were extremely helpful in this regard, cooked her meal separate so there was no gluten contamination. Well done!
K M — Google review
Arrived just after they opened on a Saturday. If this was an east end pub it’d be packed because it’s REALLY nice, I don’t know the location well but it seems off the beaten track. Very quiet from 12ish and starting getting busier at 3pm. Music playing was classic rock and some 80s pop. Currently table service. Ordered the halloumi fries (delicious! With minty yoghurt and pomegranate seeds) and then the mac and cheese - one with bacon and one without - and they were hot, tasty, but not too heavy. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco and got given raspberries and sparkling glasses. Attentive service and would definitely return.
Charis — Google review
Simply delicious. Couldn't fault the food! Huge, tasty, well cooked and very fine cuts of meat. This is the pork, the lamb and the beef. Roast of course. Lovely staff, warm and friendly atmosphere. The whole restaurant sang my mum happy birthday without prompt 😄 She was so delighted. 4 stars only because the restaurant room is a bit noisy (wooden floor). And they need to sharpen their knives so you can enjoy your meal without quite so much effort. Idea already passed on! We will be back. Loved it 😍

Very quiet. I hadn't been to a S&G for years and thought it would have the same atmosphere as the city restaurants (even for a Tuesday lunch) The staff were excellent as was the service. However the food, not so. Everything was deep fried in breadcrumbs. It was hard to distinguish the chicken from the duck and the calamari from the cheese. I asked why the boa buns was so dark and was told "that's how they are"
Tan L — Google review
We started out with a very nice dinner. The staff kindly replaced fries with delicious sweet potato fries. The food was great even though they were out of steak. When we ordered drinks, we were informed about 1+1 free of the same two drinks so we just got two drinks each. The drinks weren't very strong so we appreciated the special offer.
Matus H — Google review
Emma at Slug and Lettuce was absolutely fantastic — she gave us such great service and really made our visit special. She was friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for her. On top of that, she was such a lovely person to chat to, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Tilly B — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The cosy and inviting interior makes it perfect for groups, couples, or even a solo outing. The starters and cocktails were absolutely delicious, and Daniel provided excellent service, ensuring we were happy with everything. It was my first visit, but definitely won’t be my last!
Susana C — Google review
I’m extremely disappointed with the service at Slug & Lettuce Watford. We had a bottomless brunch booking and received a call just 8 minutes before our reservation to be told it was cancelled due to an issue with the kitchen. The only food options offered were a salad or mac and cheese, neither of which were suitable for our group – and certainly not reflective of what we paid for. We had travelled an hour to get to this location and spent £60 on a taxi, only to be given no real solution, compensation, or even a proper apology. Despite the fact no food would be served, we were not offered an upgrade, discount, or alternative. Instead, we were simply told, "We can’t do it then." This level of service is unacceptable, especially considering there was no prior warning about any kitchen issues – something that could have easily been communicated earlier in the day. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to help resolve the situation left us incredibly frustrated and out of pocket. Would strongly reconsider booking here in the future unless improvements are made in communication and customer care. Ended up leaving due to this.
Missy L — Google review
Good atmosphere and lovely staff. We did the bottomless brunch, there was 6 of us and we had a good time. Drinks came frequently unlike some bottomless brunches elsewhere. However, we ordered food and after 20 minutes the waiter came back and told us they didn’t have any of the things we ordered so we all had to pick something else which was then limited as they ran out of loads. I’m not sure why it took them so long to figure it out they didn’t have most of the stuff on the menu. The food then took ages to come. We had the table 7:45-9:45 and I think the food came out at 9pm. Other than that the drinks experience was great.

The restaurant's brunch menu features both classic and innovative dishes, allowing diners to create their own brunch board from an array of small plates. From delectable baked goods to protein-packed options and sweet treats like carrot cake overnight oats, there's something for everyone.
A surprisingly great meal! We just walked in with no research/recommendation and loved it. The decor was fun, every dish was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. It's tucked away a bit but it's worth the search.
J — Google review
Such a beautiful spot to eat, grab a drink, and have a good chat. It’s got a rustic charm but still feels super elegant and well taken care of. The food was great overall—though the pork chops were a bit overcooked and chewy. Service could’ve been smoother; we had to wave a few times to get someone’s attention. Seemed like they might’ve been short-staffed and doing their best. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience. Definitely going back!
Dee — Google review
Sure! Here's a more natural and polished version of your comments: --- This is a lovely spot for lunch, with a beautifully floral interior that makes it perfect for a date or taking photos with friends and family. The service fee is optional if you're in a group of fewer than seven people. The food is excellent — the Asian Pork Belly Bites are my absolute favorite: sweet, crispy, and tender without being dry. The Cumberland sausage also makes a solid choice for a main course. Prices are reasonable, around \$30 per person without dessert. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. Just keep in mind that there aren't many servers, so things might be a bit slow — patience helps!

Sat outside in the lovely sun, this was a quick stop before heading home. My friend and I ordered soft drinks, table water, and a side of chips. Very pretty decor and lots of photo opportunities. I would visit and recommend.

🌸 Beautiful experience at The Florist, Watford! The restaurant is absolutely stunning full of pink flowers and dreamy décor that makes you feel like you’re dining inside a fairytale garden. 🌷 I had the chicken kebab it was super delicious, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the whole atmosphere was so cosy and elegant. Definitely a place worth visiting again! 💕

Great food and service. They catered for all my intolerances which made my visit seamless and enjoyable. Love their cute decor. Definitely worth a visit!
Francesca — Google review
Environment is nice. Price is on the higher end, portion and quality is on the lower end. I ordered the Sunday Roast. The beef has lot of gristle and I only have 4 small pieces of roast potato with 2 mouthful of veg. I left the restaurant hungry. Waiter was polite and helpful. Restaurant was clean. If you are looking for value for money and decent portion. Don't go there.

The Horse & Chains is a charming pub-restaurant housed in a 17th-century coaching inn, exuding historic charm with its inglenook hearth and snug. The establishment offers seasonal menus and prides itself on outstanding service from friendly and attentive staff. Visitors have raved about the superb food, particularly the Sunday lunches and burgers, making it one of the top dining experiences in Hertford.
Had a lovely Sunday Lunch but other options were available. Didn’t have room for dessert but cappuccino was very good. We will definitely book again. Enjoyed a mulled wine before our roast.
Christine O — Google review
I had a brief experience at The Horse and Chains, so I can’t provide a full assessment, especially since I visited in the afternoon when it was quiet. Therefore, I can’t fairly judge the efficiency of the service. However, I can say that the place is very clean, well-organized, and beautifully decorated. It has a charming atmosphere. I took some photos so you can see for yourself!
Tatiana O — Google review
Really lovely atmosphere within the restaurant. I went for my fathers birthday surprise meal and it was a wonderful evening! Some nights there is live music was is always entertaining and enjoyable. The staff here are very friendly and professional. The food here also is delicious and there is something for everyone! 5 stats would recommend!
Benjy J — Google review
I came here midweek for my birthday and was a little disappointed with the meal. I had the prawn starter which was very tasty once you got passed the 'back of the throat' spicyness of it, and for £9, I would have expected a few more prawns (dish had 3) and an extra slice of bread to mop up the sauce (I got 2). I then had the vegetarian enchilada (no meat option offered?) which was fine and it was a huge portion which I offered half to my friend as she had ordered the vegetarian curry, and was disappointed as the spice had overpowered everything (I also tried it), leaving the dish bland and tasteless. The restaurant was very quiet with around 3/4 other diners over the time period we were there so the member of staff wasn't exactly rushed off his feet but when my friend went up to him at the bar to order dessert he said "sorry, the kitchen's closed". I thought giving us the heads up and asking us if we wanted dessert ahead of the kitchen closing would have made far more sense! However, credit to him, he did organise it for us and we got an extra scoop of ice cream as an apology. I had the brownie dessert which was warm and tasty but, despite the lovely gesture of a free scoop, the ice cream was a bit claggy and heavy. Overall my dining experience was a bit "hit 'n' miss". It appears from the other reviews I've read, that the Sunday roast is the big winner at this pub, and maybe the midweek menu isn't getting the same focus and attention, which is a shame!
Paul A — Google review
Lovely environment, so friendly staff & good service. The food portion was pretty big but it was a bit salty for our taste and it was a bit pricey for the quality of the food.
Mo M — Google review
It was a very disappointing experience for our visit to The Horse and Chains. Two different menus given out to our group of 10, so it was very confusing. When taking our orders, we were then told that there was limited availability, eg, 5 fish and 1 burger left! The fish itself was lovely and white and fresh, but the batter you needed a hammer to get through it, it was so hard. Friends that had the roast said it was very nice, however, but at £22 you would hope so. Hot drinks were not hot, and the girl said, "Sorry, we only have 1 teaspoon" and gave desert spoons to stir our drinks. Considering the prices charged for our meals, we were all very disappointed, and although it was a choice to pay the gratuity of 12 and a half %, which added another £34 to our bill this was far too excessive. The young staff worked very hard, but felt they needed training in their job, especially when putting teapots on the table, clearing the table, and reaching infront us to get plates etc, without an excuse me. We shall not return here, and would not recommend it.
Christine G — Google review

The modern brick fitness center in Watford, called Watford Leisure Centre - Central, offers a range of facilities for fitness enthusiasts. It features two pools, a spacious gymnasium, an indoor climbing wall, and a sports hall. In addition to this center, there are two other leisure facilities nearby – Watford Central Leisure Centre and Woodside Leisure Centre – which provide various classes such as Zumba and Pilates.
Great leisure centre. Good value membership. The pool is great and the showers are warm. The pool has a sauna and steam room. The gym has a good amount of equipment even though it’s a little small. It’s still very good value
Cameron H — Google review
Some of the staff at the Reception have an incredibly bad attitude. They treat people differently depending on how they look. We had a swimming booking for our 18month old daughter and we're not let in based on a whim - the older blonde lady with very short hair had let some other people in before us despite the pool being full and when we arrived, made up an excuse about no space. Incredibly rude. Management on the day was also not willing to listen, saying 'oh we don't check everyone that comes in' and that 'there was no more space now' despite a booking being done.
P D — Google review
My daughter attends swimming lessons at the centre and the progress is incredibly slow. There is 1 instructor for 8 children. My daughter barely has the chance to completed 5 short lanes in an entire lesson. We and other children have been stuck on the same level for almost a year. Avoid this center for children’s swimming classes below stage 3.
A — Google review
They are doing an over haul of this centre. Waited 15mins to park as they put on disabled spaces where about 8 spaces used to be. The staff are very friendly . But had to ask 4 different staff to put in toilet paper into the upstairs ladies and still reqest got ignored. It's going down hill fast.. the centre was convenient.. but I can't deal with stress before a gym session. So for me I be using another centre
Kay S — Google review
I recently received a call from your staff regarding my membership cancellation. When I began explaining that the gym area was smaller than expected and didn’t meet my needs, the call was abruptly ended before I could finish. I found this quite rude and disappointing. I believe every member’s feedback—especially when offered respectfully—should be heard and acknowledged. I hope this isn’t reflective of how customer concerns are typically handled.
Dikshant C — Google review
The main swimming pool is rarely ever open for public swimming. Even on the weekends public swimming ends practically at midday. They seem to have the pool mainly to rent to external clubs rather than for use by ordinary people.
Sienna A — Google review
Pools disgusting, never cleaned and lots of dirt, sand and grime at the bottom. Public swimming sessions are nearly impossible to swim at as there’s kids playing everywhere. There should be a distinction between family swimming and public swimming. Changing rooms are gross, never cleaned and hair everywhere. Staff are all young and clearly don’t care much.
Acasserole — Google review
Parking is a joke at this place. Being members of everyone active and parking is free, you still have to use the parking machine to print the ticket. Council makes money off of anyone who missed displaying it. Wish everyone active has a better way to record it's users at entry/ reception.

A super fun afternoon spent with friends. This was a great place to come to in the afternoon with the kids (aged 8 -12). We booked the pool table, virtual darts and shuffleboard and both the kids and adults thoroughly enjoyed it. A fun day out for both the kids and adults at this place.

Big shoutout to Javier at the bar as well—he makes killer drinks and kept the good vibes flowing all night. Super quick, attentive, and just a great personality behind the bar. Couldn’t have asked for better service from both of them. Will definitely be coming back! 👏🍹🔥

I spent part of my anniversary at Boom Bar yesterday, playing pool and axe throwing. It was my first time attempting both and we had Nipuna to guide us through the axe throwing. He was excellent. Super encouraging, very very patient and really helped us get the swing of things. He also was at the bar and served drinks. Exemplary all round. Thanks!

Delighted they now have the Sunday Roast back on the menu. Lovely local pub. Susan the owner is so lovely. We went to Prime the previous week and i can honestly say the roast beef here was tastier as were the roast potatoes. Fantastic value for money in a local pub. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

It was a Memorable Day for a very regular customer at this pub today , the landlady was warned there would be a lot or people attending . However only 2 staff were put on and one of them as slow as it comes! Felt very sorry for Mel as she completely under pressure and had lots of people moaning at her . Reduced her to tears at one point!! Not only were the regulars that spend a fortune in here every week let down but the he staff were put under unnecessary pressure! Many occasions it has happened recently when lots of regular customers have been made to wait over 30 mins to be served because of lack of staff!!! The golfers that paid for a pre ordered food order was absolutely awful !!! How can you burn gammon? Seriously …..

Absolutely love this pub.never disappoints. The atmosphere the amazing friendly bar staff and the food is always fantastic. Such a lovely venue with a newly renovated beer garden. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.. We have had so many fantastic times in here whether it will be sitting with friends having a meal with family or enjoying the brilliant bands. Sue the landlady runs a brilliant pub along with Mel and all the other bar staff. Come and take yourself it won’t disappoint.

I attended the pub today and was appalled by the service of one of the members of staff. Me and my girlfriend attended to watch the England game and was quickly greeted with a dirty look off of the barmaid and that was just us walking through the door. She then walked over and said “you two got ID” which fair enough she has every right to, however it was her tone and to not even say hello to your customers on arrival I believe to be very rude. I then asked for our drinks and she then followed again with the same stinking attitude of “specify if you want zero, diet or normal coke” when I couldn’t have been clearer with what I said. This then followed by “are you gonna come here and pay or not” which wasn’t necessary as I’m standing there with my card in my hand waiting for her and clearly know I’m going to pay and she can see that, to me she just enjoyed being difficult. After this my girlfriend followed with thank you so much in quite a sarcastic tone back which I believe to have been valid with how we were treated even though it may be wrong. After this, word for word this lady then followed with “someone is gonna get it in a minute” to her co-worker who awkwardly laughed as he could even see she was being difficult. She then proceeded to give us evils across the pub and when my girlfriend looked backed, she shouted across the pub “keep going little lady” when we had said nothing. We stayed silent as we won’t rise to pathetic behaviour from immature ‘adults’. I am not usually one to write things like this but we are totally appalled and think this behaviour is rude and unacceptable considering we are just a young couple who are nice and good people who don’t deserve this kind of treatment especially when it is unjustified. It wasn’t just what she said, it was how it was said and I think this lady needs to take a long hard look at herself before she starts trying to justify this type of behaviour to two people over half of her age. We have nothing against this pub and we have been here multiple times with different staff on and have had a good experience. I am extremely disappointed and it has put us off ever returning.

I had booked a table with my Daughters for a meal, before heading off for the Coldplay Concert. Warm, friendly greeting from the front of house staff. Very on the ball and diligent with checking on our food allergies, with appropriate choices shown on a meticulously programmed Tablet. Quite a few Pubs would do well to follow their example. Superb meals all round. I may not eat out much but know a tender, juicy steak when I taste one and the joints served up to my one Daughter and myself were cooked to perfection. My other Daughter & me then chose apple crumble & vanilla ice cream for dessert. We were delighted with the quality & size of the portions brought out - just excellent. Very chilled atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

American restaurant

Hamburger restaurant
TGI Fridays - Watford Central is a lively chain eatery with a festive atmosphere, offering an extensive menu of American cuisine along with beer and cocktails. The food is delectable, and the service is exceptional. They serve dishes like avocado with tortilla chips, sesame chicken strips, lemon garlic chicken, and chocolate fixation cake with ice cream. The portions are satisfyingly large, and the flavors are truly authentic. The ambiance takes you back to classic American diners.
I was so sad to hear that TGI was going into administration back in 2024. Luckily, this restaurant is still open as TGI is one of my favorite places to go to eat out with friends and family. I loooove the food here! Very tasty! We used to go to the one in Garston (859 St Albans Rd, Watford WD25 0LH) before that one was permanently closed due to the administration and the staff were so lovely there. The service in this restaurant can be slow but still really good! I guess it depends on the time of day as I normally go in the evening to have dinner and it seems a bit more busier at that time. For your birthday, they do their birthday song and try and get everyone in the restaurant to clap along. I think it's a really sweet touch! Parking isn't too much of an issue as there are many car park buildings you can park at and is only a short walk away. I normally use Citipark as it's just a minute walk for a reasonable fee.

Dint honour reservations we made Okay Food Takes a very long time to serve Pretty decent ambience Went here on a Friday evening after making reservations for 7 pm. We reached at 6:59 and were told that they don't have a table and we are next in queue to be seated. We had to wait for around 15 minutes, which beats the purpose of reservations. The reservation we made was not honoured. Once we ordered the food. It again took a long time. Some of the items were well made, some.like the chicken were too dry and over cooked. Drinks were pretty nice but nothing extraordinary.

Decided to go TGI’s Watford after a very long time, viewed the menu before entering. Greeted at the entrance, restaurant was relatively empty but was told there’s 5-10min wait for a table given menus and asked to wait at the bar left waiting for 15mins considered going to an alternative restaurant and by the end honestly regret staying. Once sat at the table no came over to take the order, had to ask staff member to which she called someone else. Waiter came after 5mins ordered 2 steak meals and a beef dip sandwich, the food took 40mins to arrive, by this point we’ve been in the restaurant an hour at least. The food didn’t match description on menu corn arrived as boiled corn on the cob rather than maple corn ribs no explanation from waiter either and not seasoned, the steaks weren’t seasoned even with salt & pepper and the ciabatta bread on the dip sandwich came cremated and dried out no cheese sauce and could see part of the bread had been scraped off this is by far worst food I’ve ever received, if I were the waiter I’d be embarrassed to hand it over to a customer, then we were give a ketchup bottle in the worst condition, but was much need with all the bland flavours. I decided to attempt to eat burnt sandwich as didn’t want to wait another 40mins, but could only taste the burnt bread dipping it in extra gravy and ketchup sauce didn’t work and seeing the underside of the bread was burnt even worse as if it was set on fire I sent the order back and requested it removed from the bill. At this point I would have thought the manager would have at least come over to apologise but unfortunately not leaving me wondering is this normal service?. This experience has closed the door on all TGI’s in the future and will definitely not be returning.

Came here today for Lunch it was absolutely delicious. Our server Thea was very friendly so was the Manager. The service was fairly quick as well. The food was absolutely delicious I had Nachos and Cheese and Bacon Loaded Fries. The Nachos were delicious, some of the Nachos were absolutely massive and I loved the Dips and everything that came with it. The Cheese and Bacon Fries were delicious, the Fries themselves were delicious and the Bacon was tasty and Smoky. They have changed the Recipe of the Cheese and Bacon Fries slightly as there are two new sauces the Pink sauce which is mildly spicy and the Brown sauce which is not spicy. The Atmosphere was so electric as usual in this place and I love the music that is played here. The Gents Toilets at this Branch were clean! I was pleased to see that this branch of TGI Fridays was actually really busy today especially in January. Because it is so busy two things, thing one it really adds to the atmosphere and thing two I would recommend you reserve a table. Also this branch is fantastic with my gluten allergy. This restaurant provides consistently excellent experiences and this is my favourite TGI Fridays branch in the U.K.

We visited the restaurant with a group of 7 girls to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. Our server, Priya K, was absolutely brilliant—she was attentive, patient, and incredibly helpful in making sure everything went smoothly for the celebration. She even went the extra mile to assist with the cake and made the girls feel special throughout. Thanks to her, the afternoon was stress-free and truly memorable. We couldn’t have asked for better service!

We visited TGI Fridays in Watford today with a group of eight (five adults and three children). The welcome at the entrance was very friendly, and even though we hadn’t booked, we only waited a couple of minutes at the bar while they arranged tables for us. The service staff at our table were also extremely friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was quite a disappointment. The portions were small – both for the kids’ meals and the adults’ dishes. The food itself was rather dry, lacked care in preparation, and wasn’t served hot. During our meal, we were asked several times if everything was okay, and we requested ketchup or mayo each time. Although the staff nodded and agreed, nothing ever arrived, so we ended up eating everything without it, which made the food even drier. Overall: very friendly staff, but the most important part – the food – was lacking in both quality and presentation. Honestly, a typical fast-food chain would have served us a hotter, fresher burger with more generous portions in less time. Sadly, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Bottomless brunch at TGI Friday’s is an absolute must! From the moment we sat down, the staff were super friendly ( especially our waiter Rohem) and kept the drinks flowing without us ever needing to ask. The cocktails were delicious made by Adam (especially the classics), and the food was perfect for a laid-back, fun brunch. Everything came out fresh, hot, and in generous portions. The atmosphere was buzzing with good vibes, music, and laughter, which made the whole experience even better. It’s amazing value for money and such a great way to spend a few hours with friends. Can’t wait to book again !

Last Friday, I had the delightful experience of dining at The Glasshouse and I am already looking forward to returning soon. This establishment is renowned for its exceptional buffet, which is considered one of the finest in London. I thoroughly enjoyed a wide array of dishes including sushi, sashimi, prawn salad, lobsters, cheese and salad, as well as enticing desserts. The freshness of the food was evident and the service provided was impeccable.
A buffet for the hungry ones. There is something for everybody. Salads, charcuterie, seafood and cured fish, fresh sushi, cheeses, indian cuisine, thai, carvery, british, choose your own pasta and sauce combo, pizza, grill steaks, desserts selection, chocolate fountain, ice cream. Huuge, but price is too. £69 plus service charge. Go hungry and enjoy as much as you can eat. I gained 2 kg in one sitting. Seriously, food, service was amazing. Great atmosphere, place is packed. I will go back, making sure i did not eat for a whole day before.

Food is obviously prepared to great standard with great staff The buffet itself is a tightly packed nightmare where people are crammed into a small stream of which no one knows the correct direction, which leads to a lot of knocking into each other Definitely ask to be sat as far away from the buffet as possible. The closer the more hectic and hot it gets. We were placed behind a busy blind spot so getting out to the buffet was a hazard itself. Didn’t make for a great experience and wouldn’t recommend a visit. The grounds were lovely outside and we enjoyed a lovely stroll after being packed in at the back of the Glasshouse

We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Glasshouse at the Grove! The ground and area are beautiful and the food was insane. Can’t believe the food was such high quality for a buffet! I have already recommended it to friends and family and we only came last night! We will definitely be back! The beef wellington was unreal and cooked perfectly!

Not just a meal - an epic experience. A real quality event. All the food looks wonderful and you wish you could eat it all.....Wonderful surroundings and comfortable seating. Staff are so pleasant and just whisk away your plates leaving you ready to sample your next delicacy. The roast was great, but my favourite was the desserts. The chocolate fountain, marshmallows, Turkish delight, meringues oh, I could go on and on. Well worth the money. Treat yourself.

The most expensive buffet in England — but worth it for a special, informal occasion. The setting at The Grove is stunning and romantic, but The Glasshouse itself is more vibrant than intimate. It’s all about exploring fantastic food and trying new things. A great treat for food lovers!

Situated inside The Grove Hotel and accessible through the main entrance (you pass it on the way to the car park). Beautiful tiered dining area. Starters, mains and seating on the higher tier, deserts and more seating on the lower tier. Quite an incredible range of food stations Indian, Italian, seafood, salad, Asian, carvery, sushi and deserts! Food quality is excellent with the right level of quality vs replenishment. All the food that should be hot was hot, and flavourful to boot. In particular, I recommend the Indian and carvery although the level everywhere was high. Service was great and on point, as well as the general ambience. It's expensive (~£88/head) and I think you either get value from buffets or you don't, but we enjoyed it.

Definitely worth to go! The atmosphere was great and the view of the garden was stunning🪄! Food is good but the option was a bit little. It’d have been great if there is more option on the sashimi and pasta. But the dessert section is absolutely a highlight!!

The Nascot Arms, located in Nascot village near Watford, Hertfordshire, is a traditional pub that offers an authentic Thai culinary experience. Alongside live TV sports, this unique establishment serves a variety of Thai soups, curries and noodle dishes.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing dining experience at this Thai restaurant! The Prawn Tom Yum Soup was bursting with flavors—spicy, tangy, and absolutely delicious. The Prawn Tempura was perfectly crispy and light, making it a delightful appetizer. For the main course, we enjoyed the Chicken Garlic and Peppers with Rice, which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of garlic and spice. Overall, every dish was delicious, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and tasty Thai cuisine!

We went for a Thai meal here. It was excellent. Generous portions and, more importantly, delicious red curry with duck and Panang with prawns. You order drinks separately from the pub. We had 0.0 Guinness, which complemented the curry well. Booking advised for the restaurant.

Hidden gem. Authentic Thai food inside the Nascot Arms with a unique setup of pub on one side and Thai restaurant on the other. Drinks are handled by the pub staff and food by the restaurant staff, so you get two checks at the end which we had no issues with (you do you boo). We had prawn toast and tom kha with chicken to start and both were delicious. The tom kha was bursting with flavor, the chicken was really good quality, and it instantly gave me confidence the rest of the meal would be amazing. For mains the Ga pao kai daw with fried egg and the roasted duck in red curry sauce tasted like being back in Thailand. Two starters and two mains were only £45 which is incredible value for the quality and flavor. Great service and cozy atmosphere, we will definitely be back.

A little bit of a gem. This place is actually two in one. On the one hand we have the Nascot Arms serving the alcohol and the other side we have an authentic Thai restaurant. Luckily for me the pub side will come to your table in the Thai side to take the drinks order to go with the fantastic food. I will say, if the menu says something is hot.. it's not a lie. Staff were polite friendly and reasonably quick with orders and service. The restaurant was clean and light, quite busy for a Monday night but only as a sign of it's popularity, and well deserved too. The atmosphere was OK but no entertainment directed at the restaurant side, however, the pub side did begin a pub quiz. All in all, a really nice place to eat, high quality authentic Thai with a very well selected menu.

Great Thai food, beware the red chilli in the soup. The flavours are there with the lemongrass and spice levels. I recommend the specials, my only issue was the red duck curry had far too much pineapple and grapes in it. The vegetable tempura is a great starter. Add to this a good selection of casks ales and attentive service… I will come again!

The Southern Cross is a traditional British pub located on Langley Road, offering a familiar menu of grills and global comfort food. They host a popular bottomless brunch with unlimited drinks for 90 minutes at an affordable price. Additionally, the pub offers a festive menu with budget-friendly options available until New Year's Day. The establishment is family-friendly and welcomes dogs in non-carpeted areas. The Southern Cross never disappoints! The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the amazing staff, always smiling, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Their service really sets the tone and makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is spot on, especially if you're into sports. Big screens, great vibes, and an energy that makes every game feel like a big event. Whether it’s rugby, footy, or anything in between, there’s always something to watch and enjoy with a crowd that’s just as into it as you are. And let’s not forget the deals: seriously good value across the board, from food to drinks. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a great feed, enjoy a cold one, and not break the bank. Highly recommend for a casual night out, a weekend session, or catching the big game. Southern Cross nails it every time.

Whether he's serving drinks, handling a busy shift, or chatting with regulars, he brings energy, professionalism, and a fantastic attitude every time he steps on the floor. He’s quick, efficient, and always keeps his cool — even when the place is packed. Customers genuinely enjoy being served by Harry because he’s friendly, attentive, and always makes people feel welcome. He knows how to keep things moving smoothly without ever compromising on service. Whether it's pulling the perfect pint, keeping the bar spotless, or stepping in to help his teammates, Harry does it all with a smile. You can always count on him to go above and beyond. Highly recommended — every pub needs a Harry.

The Guinness at The Southern Cross is spot on—poured right, nice and creamy, just how it should be. If you’re just after a decent pint in a chilled pub, this place does the job. No fuss, no fancy stuff—just good beer and good vibes.

Popped in for an evening treat. The service was exemplary and the drinks, a Guinness and peach ale were close to perfection. The meal however was a bit of a disappointment. The standard mixed grill was ordered, X2, with breaded mushrooms as a starter. The breaded coating just fell apart leaving a mushroom with damp coating in the dish, it was impossible to take one to the supplied dip intact after putting a fork into it. The main dish arrived, the chicken was really dry, the gammon stake tasted of pure salt and again no moisture, the medium rare stake was overcooked, dry and tough. On a good not the chips were nice. So all in all a bit of a disappointment. Mention concerns to Jack who was understanding and mentioned we weren't looking for anything except giving an honest review.

The Tudor Arms is a charming local pub that offers a delightful mix of hearty meals and refreshing drinks, perfect for casual dining. With ample seating both indoors and in the grassy garden, it’s an ideal spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a family outing. Guests have praised the attentive service and delicious food, especially highlighting the value of their senior meal deals. While most visits are enjoyable, there can be occasional disruptions from rowdy patrons during sports events.
Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was very friendly, the managers of the pub were so helpful and friendly. The whole place has had a huge refurb. Plenty of space for pushchairs and wheelchair users. Ramps for easy access. Play area outside for the kids. Prices are very reasonable. We had 3 meals and 4 drinks (2 cocktails) for under £45. The pub offers much more than food and drink, it's a social place to meet and enjoy. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcome. They have a room upstairs that can be hired out. They have 3 games of bingo with a meal for £10 for seniors. They have Zumba, they have quiz nights, karaoke nights. They also have live acts on a Saturday night (shame I missed Robbie Williams event by a week). Coming up they have a Halloween party for the kids and breakfast with Santa Highly recommend going here.

Last week I took a visit down to the recently refurbished Tudor Arms. The food was ok same menu as before not much new to offer. The atmosphere was vibrant. Upon entering u was greeted with big smiles all the staff were friendly. Bar service was quick and efficient, Liam the guy who poured my pint made sure I was up to date with the upcoming events on the weekend. I ordered the fish and chips without the mushy peas. The food was hot and the portion was a good size. Erin the girl that served my food was super helpful and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again especially when the suns out!

I popped in for a drink on my own whilst waiting to pick something up nearby. I sat outside in the beer garden. There is plenty of seating and a small children’s play area. Unfortunately, after waiting for 20 minutes for the drink I ordered via the app, I went to the bar and found that they had forgotten about my order. This was quickly rectified, but didn’t give a great impression.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Watford, The Moon Under Water is a quintessential Wetherspoon pub that exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from George Orwell's renowned essay, this establishment is a favorite among both locals and visitors for its impressive array of real ales, wines, and spirits. With an extensive menu featuring affordable pub grub—including plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options—there’s something to satisfy every palate.
We were here as tourists with local friends. Walking in we were immediately greeted by another customer which was a good start haha. The interior was really charming and I absolutely loved it! The service was top notch, there weren't any poached eggs at that moment but we were given multiple options to replace them and I had a great meal. The 2 pitchers for 15£ was also awesome. We picked the purple rain and Hawaiian punch and they were very yummy! 🤗

I recently visited The Moon Under Water Wetherspoon pub on Watford High Street for a late lunch with friends and family. The menu is affordable, hearty, and offers a wide variety of options, making it a great choice for both casual dining and pre-drinks in the evening. Orders can be placed directly at the bar or conveniently through the Wetherspoon app online. The meals we ordered were served piping hot and were full of flavour. My friends and family were equally pleased with their dishes and drinks, with everyone commenting on both the quality and value. The pub itself is spacious, with plenty of seating spread across different sections, making it easy to find a table. Despite ordering separately via different devices, all of our food arrived at simlar times at the same table within 10 minutes of ordering, without any complications. The restaurant was also very well maintained, with staff efficiently clearing and sanitising tables after each use. While the atmosphere is lively and often busy meaning it may not be the most relaxing environment it is perfectly suited to those looking for good-value, filling food and a friendly, efficient service. Facilities include standard men’s and women’s restrooms upstairs, as well as an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Overall, The Moon Under Water delivers dependable service, great value for money, and a convenient location, making it a strong choice for anyone seeking casual, affordable dining in Watford.

Decent Spoons this, able to get a seat eventually on a matchday, but it was very busy with home and away fans here. There was a good atmosphere before the game, food still came out relatively quickly given the busyness of the pub too. The burger I got was nice with a decent chip count.

Had a great experience at the Wetherspoon in Watford. The ambience was really nice — welcoming and relaxed, perfect for a casual outing. The food was good and reasonably priced, living up to the Wetherspoon standard. The place was clean throughout, and the washrooms were surprisingly well maintained, which isn’t always the case in busy pubs. Overall, the place is aesthetically pleasing and well looked after. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Visited Watford for a small UK holiday with my friends for her birthday. This lovely pub quickly became like our local and we visited every day we were in the area. One of the managers there was super friendly everytime he saw us (gutted I didn't get his name). Decent food, drinks, and staff.

It’s a Spoons so you know what you are getting. Three things of note: The sausage sandwich tasted great despite looking nothing special It was very busy on a Saturday morning We sat under a telly which was ok until they switched it on at full volume for the football and could no longer hear each other

It's known for serving some of the best authentic Turkish food in the area, making it an excellent choice for business dining or celebratory meals. The hospitable waiting staff and menu filled with wholesome Turkish classics create a welcoming and lively atmosphere.
This Turkish restaurant is amazing! I’m from the central London which I can tell that it’s impeccable compared to all Turkish London restaurants I’ve ever tried in London. The meat is extremely juicy and palatable, which perfectly suitable for no matter British or Chinese appetite!!! We ordered its just for two and the portion was very impressive. Definitely will try again when backing to Watford!

The food was incredible. We had an amazing night. The waiters were all lovely and super friendly. I’ve been to Opuz with my family and now I’ve also been with my friends and each visit just keeps getting better. The music wasn’t too loud. The atmosphere was lovely. The setting wasn’t too dark. And also we had a lot of table space I truly had an amazing night. And I’ll definitely be going back

Celebrated my sons 21st with Khalid and his team 07/10/2025 - we couldn’t have asked for anything more; we already knew the food and atmosphere were great quality have eaten with some members of our party at Opuz before but the staff went all out to make sure this was a special night for our family party of 13. Warm, welcoming and attentive, friendly and good humoured staff but not intrusive. Service for our large party was spot on, with everyone’s food served with good timings between courses and piping hot. Many of us in the group are trained and experienced in hospitality and service and we couldn’t have been better taken care of. A special mention to Isaque for going above and beyond - you made this important milestone celebration a very happy memory. We will be back.

The food was amazing and Ione our waitress was super great. I came to celebrate my birthday with my children and I wasn’t disappointed neither were they. I enjoyed my cocktails as well and my daughter had mock tail which she also enjoyed. My only disappointment was it was cold and the door was open so the food got cold quick but I told them and they gave me something on the house. Definitely would be back.

It was a rainy afternoon, and the cozy ambiance made it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely amazing, full of authentic flavor, and the piña colada mocktail was a standout. Musa provided friendly, attentive service that made the experience even better.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Opuz From the moment wewalked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The food was deliciousfreshly prepared, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. A special mention goes to our waiter, Musa, who truly made the evening nice . He was attentive without being intrusive, had great knowledge of the menu, and gave excellent recommendations. His friendly demeanor and professionalism added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. Overall, between the quality of the food and Musa’s outstanding service, I’ll definitely be coming back again and recommending this spot to friends and family!

O'Neill's Watford is a casual pub that offers a relaxed atmosphere, showing sports on big screens and featuring live music. The food and drink menus have an Irish influence, with a variety of options to choose from. Customers can enjoy playing darts, which adds to the fun experience at this establishment. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind, ensuring that patrons feel well taken care of during their visit. The manager is also friendly and accommodating.
We visited last Sunday for a game of darts and some snacks and drinks. Our server Lay was absolutely incredible, so attentive always checking if we needed anything extra, honestly could not have been better! The darts is great fun and great value too! We will definitely return

Best meal I've had here. Came for a team lunch. We had Tapas and have to say it was very tasty. Dirty fries were really nice. Wasn't so keen on the mushrooms but didn't spoil the rest of the meal. Ordered from the app from the table and didn't have to wait long. Today made me want to come back and try more of the tapas dishes

Really nice dinner, spiced chicken burger. Well presented and great hot food. Crispy chips and tasty burger. Service by team is really prompt and gave great service to our outside table. Glasses cleared often and overall atmosphere was pretty good. Nice place and great drinks & food. Also helped that the weather was hot and sunny with great amount of outside tables! Recommend a visit.

We were staying one night in Watford to go to Harry Potter studio tour and out hotel was the minutes away. We had dinner before our tour, drinks after our tour and breakfast the next day before our flight out. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to spring from, I'll be recommending to all my friend's on similar visits. Note, go to the bar to order breakfast as their app fails on this type of order, the staff were very helpful.

Really impressed with the changes at O’Neill’s Watford under the new management. The place is spotless and has a much more welcoming vibe than before. The food was delicious, served hot and fresh, and the menu has a great selection. The staff were friendly and attentive, and a big shout-out to Gary the manager – he made sure we were well looked after and clearly runs a tight ship. Lemon Grass Watford is a charming family-run restaurant that captures the essence of Thai cuisine in a cozy and inviting setting. Just a short stroll from the town center, it boasts an extensive menu filled with authentic dishes, including fragrant curries and zesty stir-fries. Diners rave about their experiences here, often highlighting favorites like the Laksa soup—described as one of the best they've ever had after extensive travels through Southeast Asia.
Enjoyed a family evening meal out and loved the food here. We started off with the Korean fried chicken which was so delicious, chicken was soft on the inside and a bit of crisp on the outside, the spicy mayo wasn’t spicy but it was really tasty. We also ordered the set platter for two which came with a range of foods, including: spring rolls, tempura veg, Korean fried chicken, prawns, ribs and then the pancake duck. I ordered the chicken Phad Thai which was so good, lemon gave it a great boost of flavour, they had crushed peanuts on top but I would love it if it came with a peanut sauce… that would be to die for. Ordered the coconut ice cream which I haven’t had since a child so that gave me a bit of reminiscence and it tasted amazing. Staff are lovely and accommodating. Would recommend to enjoy a meal here if you are around Watford.

I’ve tried countless Chinese takeaways in Watford over the years, and honestly, all have been disappointing, until now. Finally, I’ve found somewhere truly worth my money! I’m a big foodie and have ordered a wide range from their menu, and every single dish has hit the spot perfectly. Full of flavour, and consistently delicious. No complaints at all! Just wish I’d found them sooner!

Lovely little place in Watford. We had the Lemon Grass Feast, so tried a bit of everything. All of the food was really really tasteful, and the peking duck was really well made with great flavours. All of the starters were delicious, and the curry main course was also so so good. We were unfortunately already very full by the main course but I highly recommend the Lemon Grass Feast menu

Came here for a dinner with my wife, only a short walk from home. Major discovery! Had prawn toast, chicken wings and duck pancakes for starters. The portions were so big I was already full before the mains came! Taste was flavoursome as well. For mains I had Laksa and my wife had Mee Goreng. Portions were heavy and the taste divine, will come back to try all the other dishes!

Nestled in the heart of Watford, The Horns Watford is a cherished traditional pub that offers an unforgettable night out. Since its establishment in 2019, it has become a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike, thanks to its lively atmosphere and impressive lineup of live music featuring both emerging talents and well-known acts. With real ales on tap and outdoor barbecues during warmer months, this venue creates a welcoming environment perfect for socializing.
Went there because I miss to listen to a live band playing. I really had a great time and there's a different singer and a band called Ricochet. It's awesome, they played a lot of different songs. Shame though the place is not so busy. Every Wednesday they have an open mike and the lady host at that night is very entertaining and funny.

Good bar nice staff but an age to get served. The live music is what I come for and it's great far better than the steakhouse before it. Who in Watford pays £30+ for a steak! Just one more thing this bar is not a :pulling' bar as no one is single here. Go to walkabout or slug for that.

Great to see this pub back open again, superb band last night but please get some more staff working and lose the chaos to the operation. Service awful, took an age to get served, ran out of glasses, no wine available. Huge missed opportunity to make money in a packed pub. Was the same 2 weeks ago.

Honestly, this is such a lovely place. Went for wander round St Albans and decided to revisit The Goat Inn for the first time in years. It's slightly off the beaten track but is so worth deviating to. An old coach inn that has lots of wood and bare brick features and a good-sized beer garden. There's a great choice on tap here, I didn't eat so haven't rated that. The staff are a nice bunch of energetic, young, friendly people who really seem to enjoy their jobs, especially Abbey, who came over and had a lovely chat with me. I won't be waiting so long till my next visit. I think it's fair to say there's a West Ham supporter here.....

Really strange experience trying to book a room here. contacted Michael, the owner via Air B&B with a query before booking a room. He got back to me answering everything So I proceeded to move forward with the booking. He didn’t accept and you lose the request after 24 hours. I then tried a further 2 times. Messaging Michael multiple times. Absolute no correspondence whatsoever. Really strange as seemed more than happy for me to book when first messaging. moved on and booked somewhere else but essentially lost 4 days where I could of booked somewhere else originally. The pub though looks in a great location and I’m sure it’s fantastic. The service trying to book a room however for my experience was terrible.

The first bar area you enter is quite small but there’s a number of different areas throughout the pub. The real selling point here is the staff who are so friendly and make you feel truly welcome. I love traditional pubs but sadly Watford centre is lacking, so sought this place out. Very attractive exterior, a modern single room interior, with a lovely outdoor space. Great selection of drinks but only one of the three real ales (Bombardier) was available at the time of my visit (mid-Saturday afternoon). Also a little too much bad language for my liking, not helped by the landlord’s contribution! A friendly welcome from the landlady and a pleasant enough experience, but could be better.

MUST Wine Bar is a high-quality wine bar that focuses on selecting the most beautiful and delicious wines from all over the world. They have an extensive list of wines by the glass, as well as a variety of other alcoholic drinks.
Visited in May 2023. We visited MUST to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We do enjoy wine and charcuterie, which this place offered in abundance. The service was really relaxed (in a good way), polite and educational - the knowledge of the wines on offer was helpful. Great pairings were offered. The space is intimate, warm and inviting. It was very clean and comfortable. We sat right at the front looking over at the street and people gazing. We were given a complimentary glasses of Prosecco to celebrate our anniversary, which was a lovely touch. The platter was delicious and fresh. Would recommend this spot for a date night or cultured evening with friends.

Popped in for a glass of wine largely because I’d never been here before. It was….OK. Really nice snacks of cheese and padron peppers and service was fine. It just lacked atmosphere. I don’t know if we were just unlucky but it was a Friday night and it felt a bit dead. Odd shaped room might not help. Curious. Wouldn’t return for the vibe I’m afraid.

Was a pleasant evening, I did think the cheese board was very over priced for what it was and not very extensive. Missed an item which we ordered, never arrived, wasn't on the bill so I guess they didn't hear us. Not a massive problem. Wine was great though.

My daughter and I dropped by for brunch today. The cafe is very pleasant and decorated beautifully. A very warm welcome too. There is a good menu, enough choice but not over fussy! We tried the smashed avacado on toast and a fishfinger sandwich. Both were great! Very fresh and good quality produce. Had a look at the bar downstairs which is lovely. With talk of cocktails, wine tasting and a good choice of sharing platters we will definitely be coming back to try these out on an evening. Mad Squirrel Tap Watford is a community-rooted craft brewery and eatery offering exceptional brews and delectable dishes. The lunchtime deal provides great value without compromising on quality, showcasing the dedication to excellence through premium ingredients. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it's a popular spot during Watford matches. The friendly manager offers guidance on beer selection, providing small tasters before purchase. Their pizzas are highly recommended, with options like Meat Feast and gluten-free choices available.
Watford has been crying out for a craft beer place for forever. This place is great for locally brewed craft beer. Staff are great. Food is great, but the main draw here is the beer. Only way this place could get better is if they had more guest beers.

Such a nice place to drink. Plenty of seats inside and outside but I visit it at the time when there was a match in Watford and it was full packed. Drinks are not bad. Mad Squirrel is brewing not bad variety. Been there for a drink and ending up with 4. One thing didn’t like is just 2 people serving behind the bar when there was a long queues. Situated in high street is not bad.

Went for friends birthday! George was amazing! Very attentive, friendly and helpful! Food was lovely and in good time! All very reasonably priced too.....oh and the band were very good too!
Sonia H — Google review
Used to love coming here :( Sadly the multiple beers I tasted all were fairly acidic. And the burger was so bland. Also told that they close at 9pm, and kitchen at 8ish, band advertised but no band tonight apparently.
Jason S — Google review
Huge selection of beers on tap, the manager is really friendly. As I haven’t got a clue about beer or what I wanted to choose he gives you a small taster before you buy it which helps. Pizzas are great. Meat Feast at £15 Nachos were about £9 Offered great service to someone in our group who requested gluten free pizza due to being coeliac. Putting the person at ease! Perfect service.

An excellent bar with fantastic food, beers and staff. Had food and drink here before going to Wembley and it really delivered. They were really busy with an indoor event that was prebooked but they still found plenty of time for us. A bit of a hidden gem, just a stones throw from Watford High Street station. Definitely pay it a visit.

Venture into the heart of local craftmanship at Mad Squirrel. With its roots firmly planted in the community, Mad Squirrel has mastered the art of crafting both exceptional brews and mouthwatering dishes. The lunchtime deal is a steal, offering unbeatable value without compromising on quality. Each bite is a testament to the premium ingredients used, showcasing the dedication to excellence. From first sip to last bite, the flavors speak volumes, leaving no doubt about the commitment to taste and authenticity.

The Rifle Volunteer is a delightful pub that has quickly become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. With its warm, inviting atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day or catch up with friends and family. Patrons rave about the exceptional hospitality and delicious food offerings, including standout dishes from various pop-up kitchens like Mama Jacq's curried goat and jerk fries. The venue often features live music, creating an energetic vibe that enhances the experience.
Yesterday was a game of 2 half’s. We set out early to go and watch the last game of the season at Mansfield Town as we are season ticket holders, but a broken down car on the M1 made the journey time mean that we would not be making the game. We made the tough decision to turn around and head home. We went for a walk with the dog instead and decided on a few pints while watching the game on the phone at The Riffle. The amazing bar man saw what we were doing and then offered to put the game on the big screen for us. I couldn’t believe our luck. What a superstar. We then watched the whole game and by the time the game had finished, the pub was packed with a great atmosphere. I can’t thank you enough. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰

The Railway Arms is a charming pub located near Bushey train station. Visitors praise the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with special mention of the landlady Elaine who goes out of her way to ensure everyone feels at home. The pub offers live sports, pool games, and good quality drinks at reasonable prices. Guests have enjoyed engaging in banter with both the staff and regulars while feeling completely at ease. Some even received complimentary pizza during their visit!
Elaine is such a friendly landlady! Always feel welcome. Forgot my phone once and the team not only kept it aside for me, but even charged it for when I picked it up! Absolutely stellar every time! And really good quality beer!
Parus D — Google review
Pretty horrible experience in this pub. If you have time to kill while waiting for your next train, you’d be better off waiting in the rain at the station instead of coming here. My friend and I were not drinking at the time and we were met by rude and patronising gestures from bar staff. Along with being confrontational and condescending, staff members made comments like “aren’t you a big boy now” as we ordered a fizzy drink. We couldn’t get out of the place fast enough. Horrible pub and terrible staff, if anyone is reading this please avoid and spend your money elsewhere. Bushey is a lovely town, it’s just a shame that the first place you see when you leave the station is this dive of a pub. Edit: Having read the response from the owner, I would like to clarify a few things from our visit to the railway arms. We never sat down. We didn't go to the toilet first as we went straight to the bar first to order some fizzy drinks. We didn't interact with bar staff while unpacking our bags, as we didnt have any bags. We had time to kill before the next train to London, so we willinging paid for drinks. We were never asked to leave because we didn't set a foot wrong in this establishment. We waited by the bar with our drinks for 10ish minutes, and having thought about the way the staff spoke to us with such disrespect, we decided it was best to leave as quickly as possible. The response from the railway arms truly sums up the nature of the people who work here; incompetent, distasteful, graceless, and quite frankly ignorant beyond belief

I have recently visited this Bar for Happy hour which is advertised outside as 'Monday to Saturday from 5pm'. This inticsed myself and a Friend to go in. We arrived before 11pm but were met outside by bouncers asking for proof of identification. I am quite aware this is now standard and was not an issue initially but did take some time. Inside the Bar we were met with a large group ordering and with two Bar staff attending to them and one other visitor, we had quite a wait before we were served. Once we were acknowledged I asked the Bar Man about the 50% off drinks offer to know if this included all drinks and he said it's no longer available. I asked him what time this offer ended and why that information is not stated outside the Bar on the poster that had caught our eye on the way through. He told me it had ended at 11pm and it was now 11.03pm, that was all. The fact that the offer could not be honoured knowing we were there before 11pm for our drinks as himself and his colleague had seen us walk in before this time is quite sad. We were waiting patiently to be served and the group served before us and the other to be served before had received this offer without question. It was clear we were in attendance before the 11pm cut off which we also made clear to him with no avail - Bar personnel should be taking note of who is at the Bar at 11pm on cut off. It shouldn't be that if you're waiting to be served (with VERY slow service might I add and a lot of unrelated gossip whilst getting the drinks for customers) close to the cut off and they don't get to you until after that you lose out. It's not right - I think most would agree. I have given management a chance to redeem themselves via email and will edit my review accordingly dependant on the response.

Nestled in the heart of Bushey, The Red Lion is a charming traditional pub that perfectly blends historic allure with modern comforts. With its spacious interior and inviting outdoor patio garden, it's an ideal spot to unwind with friends over classic pub fare and a diverse selection of real ales. For those intrigued by the supernatural, this establishment is reputedly one of Hertfordshire's most haunted venues, adding an intriguing twist to your visit.

Great experience at the Red lion in Bushey. Lucy the host was very accommodating and looked after myself and a friend for lunch. Shout out to Beth the chef for the day for my amazing Tomato, mozzarella and Avocado sandwich.
Laura T — Google review
Shockingly bad service, establishment expects loyal customers to fund the failure of their soda pumps by charging inflated prices for bottled alternatives. £18+ for a shandy and one g&t. When asked whether they could apply any goodwill since the high price was caused by a failure of their equipment, the exceptionally rude bar person claimed I was being rude (for daring to question expecting the customer to cover the higher cost of individual sodas) and refused to serve me (after pouring the drinks). I asked to speak to the manager who did not witness what happened and said, 'I'm afraid I have to back my staff member'. No, actually, you don't, long established customer service etiquette is to apologise and attempt to find a way to satisfy the customers concern. Won't ever be going back and will letting friends know of this incident and I doubt they will either. *UPDATE* I didn't say I was in Watford, definitely the correct venue, I'm not senile this happened a couple of weeks back so better to not try and pretend this didn't happen. If you have bottled lemonade / sprite, your staff don't know this and you also have a staff member claiming they're the manager instead of yourself if it wasn't you I spoke to*

Had an amazing night. Staff were awesome with me and my friends we were a bit drunk but treated us like humans. Great music. Will be back xx
Andrew H — Google review
My first time going to Watford Popworld nightclub & it was fun. I got there before 10pm Friday night & since I was the first person no queue I was let in when they open at 10pm. I went with Cleicy my friend . For my first experience it was good but got abit busy later on & drinks cost alot more than my club in Wealdstone but for someone who has never been to a proper club I had a good first experience. I had 5 doubles neat (that's 10 shots in total) each double of Jack Daniels cost £7.25 & entry was free before 11 pm what was excellent. Cleicy gave me a lift home on Saturday morning so I got home by 2:20 am. Cleicy just had coke & sprite. We both enjoyed ourselves. Also got videos but does not let me upload. Also another thing most people in the reviews say they are not happy with the Security guards I had no issues with them & they were very helpful. I will be coming back here again as I enjoyed myself , not sure when but will be coming back. The only reason for the 4 stars are there was drink spillages on the floor & I noticed a shot glass got smashed on floor , I am guessing the main reason for this is people are drunk.
Ken G — Google review
One of the bar staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. He acted like he was above the rules and showed no professionalism at all. It was clear he didn’t care about the customers or their experience at the club. That moment really stuck with me, and because of it, I’ll never go back there again.

Hi I just wanted to give some feedback about my recent visit.I was playing on the slot machines for about 10 minutes when a lady behind the counter came over and told me I wasn't allowed to play unless I bought something. The way she spoke to me was really rude and I felt like I was being forced to collect my money and leave.I do understand if there are rules about this but I think it could have been handled in a much more polite and respectful way. It honestly made me feel very unwelcome in your pub

Shots Watford is a chain bar known for its big-screen sports, snooker and pool tables, as well as dartboards. The team at Shots is highly praised for their friendly service and the venue is well-maintained with a great atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the reasonable prices and variety of activities available, including snooker, pool, darts, table tennis, and live sports on TV.
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Shots Snooker Hall recently, and I can’t speak highly enough about the experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a fantastic vibe that made it clear this is a place where snooker enthusiasts (and newcomers) alike can feel right at home. The hall itself is top-notch, featuring well-maintained tables and a comfortable, relaxed environment. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to enjoy a game, the facilities are perfect. However, what truly sets Shots apart is the incredible staff. Peter, the manager and Scarlet deserve a special mention—they went above and beyond to ensure that we had an unforgettable time. Their friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect really made our visit stand out. You can tell that they genuinely care about the experience of each guest and they work tirelessly to create a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re looking for a snooker hall that offers excellent facilities, an inviting ambiance, and top-tier customer service, Shots Snooker Hall is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone!

My friend and I have been here for 5 times now. It’s nice place and clean with well maintained tables and good variety of table styles of American, English pool and snooker. The staffs are friendly but a lot of them are really young that they don’t seem to know about service. We play pool regularly but we are still alternating between other pool places and this place in Watford so far. We don’t go to The Shots very often because the price is quite high (Even for members, peak time is more than £13, non peak time is more than £9) and only Mon- Fri 12-5 is non peak time price. 🤪 so for two people when it’s off peak time we will play 2 hours and peak time an hour. But we often see they got lots of empty tables. It will benefit the business if they lower the price and include more hours as off peak time price so people will play there more often. 🙂

While some diners appreciate its charm more than the highly-rated Glasshouse nearby, they do note that certain prices can be on the higher side.

I know it's a lounge and relax is the key, however we had to catch a waiter few times though she kept walking passed us. Otherwise fantastic night out!

It was just the perfect afternoon with a wonderful private room at the end. We could still hear the harp playing and loved the views outside. The birthday lady felt very special indeed. Our main server, Abinash was incredible and very attentive to our needs. Had the best afternoon tea experience (and I’ve been several major ones in central London) and would definitely book again for future milestone birthdays.

Nestled just a short 20-minute drive from London, The Round Bush is a charming country-style pub that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With its inviting garden featuring a children's play area, it's an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy classic pub fare alongside refreshing real ales.
Lovely pub lovely location can't fault the food beer battered haddock and chips and the lamb curry. barmaids very professional very friendly. dog biscuits on the bar very nice to ... Lol please play this establishment a visit 😀👍

We recently hired the back room at The Roundbush for our daughter’s baptism reception, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. We had 34 adults and 7 children in our group. From start to finish, the staff were incredible. We planned it with Shannon and she couldn’t have been more accommodating and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was outstanding – we all had the roast dinner (as it was a Sunday), which was absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked meats and all the trimmings. They also catered wonderfully for a mix of vegetarians, vegans and children, ensuring that everyone in our group was well looked after. Just a special add that the Guinness here is exceptional, with some avid fans of the black stuff in our group pleasantly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was impeccable. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Highly recommend The Roundbush to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely venue. Thanks again Shannon, Tony and Erika.

Decent Sunday lunch though a little more expensive than average. Good size portion for the kids meal. Parking at the front and on the side. Good service. Had a back garden and kids play equipment - climbing frame, slide and swings. Few non-alcoholic options

The Round Bush pub is just 20mins drive from London (Via M1) The area is quiet, once you exit from M1 towards the pub you might think you are in the country side but not, you can see greenery along the way. We went here on a nice Saturday evening, (I phone to booked ahead). They have a back garden with ample of tables and benches. Inside is a decent space. One way system and social distancing was observed, sanitizer everywhere The food was very nice, tasty and My son said the fish fingers was “yummy”. the steak was juicy, My Haddock fish and chips I can say it was delicious! We didn’t order any desserts as We are very full. The place was clean, they have toilet for wheelchair users. And dog friendly. I gave this a five star is because of the play ground. The staff are very nice and friendly too. If you want to getaway from city life and looking for a cool chillaxing place to have lunch, dinner or just a pint of beer, this is a perfect place.

Decent menu, looked really promising and it was fine. However, after reading the reviews I expected more. The garden is fine but when we arrived there was music blasting out for a private party and loads of kids in the play area, so not really conducive to a chilled evening in the sun. We opted to sit indoors which is quite nice. The food was fine but not special; some very simple changes could have elevated it. 2 if us had haddock with sautéed potatoes and tomatoes with herb butter; the butter was plonked on top of the fish cold and had little flavour although the fish was well cooked. Warmed butter and a little garlic would improve this. The potatoes were fine but the tomatoes were more akin to an English breakfast, halves of a standard tomato;using baby tomatoes, particularly on the vine, would refine the dish and elevate it at very little cost. My son had sausage and mash,he enjoyed the sausages but the mash lacked flavour. My daughter had pesto pasta with chicken, quite basic but she enjoyed it. My husband opted for an omelette and chips which he said was good. My son then had the apple pie and custard which he said was excellent. The staff were great; friendly and efficient. It's only 35 minutes from our house but hasn't done enough to entice us back on a trip out from London. A few tweaks and it might.

Lovely country pub, food was great and friendly service. I opted for the fish and chips which was a generous portion and tasted great. Definitely will be returning!

I have to admit, this is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Everything I tasted was so full of flavor. The people are absolutely amazing, taking time to explain dishes we have never heard of and give suggestions. Super friendly! If we lived around here we would be regulars. Such an amazing experience. Thank you!!

Indian restaurants are ubiquitous to the food and hospitality scene which is why Watford’s Thekaa at the edge of the Watford city centre aims to push beyond the stereotypes with its unique menu. Everything that we ordered from the vegetarian dishes to the chicken grilled platter and the dessert was just amazing! A gracious host and a warm ambience made the visit an absolute pleasure. Don’t take my word for it have a look at the pics and get to this unique Indian gastropub at the Watford town centre.

We went for a team dinner and we had some good time together. The quality of food and drinks was very good. Polite and accommodating staff. Would love to have few more options in their menu though.

Good food. Good ambience. The place was filled even on a Thursday evening in freezing weather. The starters are good- Bengal Prawns, Achaari Chicken and Daal Wadi. The Thaali was amazing and we had the Chicken Masala and it had amazing Lacche Paratha, Raita, Salad, Kaali Dal and Jeera Rice.

I recently had a delightful experience at this new Desi Indian Gastropub - Theeka. The ambiance was vibrant, reflecting the rich culture, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The menu offered a diverse range of authentic dishes, each bursting with flavors. From the creamy curries to the dessert platters, every bite was a culinary delight. The service was prompt, and the presentation of dishes was appealing. Overall, a fantastic addition to the local dining scene – highly recommended for those seeking a genuine taste of Indian cuisine.

What a wonderful new addition to Watford. Had a friends birthday here and despite just opening they were well prepared and ready to deal with a large party. Food tasted amazing and service was great. I wasn’t keen on the dish the thali was served in, felt a bit like being at school but the food couldn’t be faulted. Bravo! I will be back!

Couldn't be happier with the food! Tried several dishes that I've never tried before. Staff were really helpful and considered in making recommendations. Everything was delicious. Loved this place when it was Bods, so this place had big shoes to fill and didn't disappoint. Make sure you save room for dessert - the Carrot Halwa Casatta was superb!

Myself and my fiancé visited here Saturday night, and had an excellent time! They had live music then a DJ, which both offered great music and had the dance floor full! I have yet to find a better place in Watford when all you and your girlfriends want is to have some appetising food/beautiful cocktails and enjoy listening to some great live music and maybe have a little dance in the end (they do have DJ on Fridays and Saturdays) what a gem 🍹

Had a great evening at Marcel's with friends on Friday 28th January. The tapas was delicious & served altogether so no one was left waiting for their food. Our drinks lady was amazing! She was very friendly & attentive & made sure our drinks were topped up. The live act was fantastic & very engaging. Everyone had a great night so thank you for making my birthday a memorable & special one.

First time visit, after speaking to the guy on the door. He was a very friendly chap and told us about the bar. It didn’t disappoint. The service was brilliant, waiting staff timing their interventions to just before your glass was empty. Good beer and great wine list, we didn’t try the food but intending to tonight. It’s certainly not the cheapest bar in town but that means it’s a slightly older clientele. Having only popped in for one and not really dressed for a night out we ended up staying for a few hours. This was in part to the live music but more to the atmosphere, staff and drinks selection. See you tonight.

I went to Marcels for the first time last week. Wow it’s super cool, feels like a top London bar has finally come to Watford.. decor is amazing with great food and service. Barrios great atmosphere and good priced cocktails. Staff friendly and know what they are doing. Early evening relaxed music that does add to the experience. I went for my bday with my friends. We all loved it. It was such fun. The singer and entertainer was brilliant. She was so good. Such fun. The drinks flowed. The bingo was a great touch and the food was yummy. Thank you for a memorable day!

The host was great. We were missed out a number of times for drinks during the bottomless brunch at 5 minutes after the 90 mins were told it had finished when our party was last to be seated, last to be served our first drinks and as said were missed out. The large table next to us got all the attention and were served 3 drinks compared to our 1, we waved at staff and we blanked. After the 90 minutes order drinks via the app and waiting 25 minutes for 2 beers 1 water and 2 cocktails (had to go to the bar and chase). The rest of the experience was great but so let down by the drinks/service.

Terrible terrible place…. Went there for a ‘supposed’ nice evening with my partner till the unexpected happened with the Shishi we ordered. I had a leg slip and the shishi fell to the ground with my leg and parts of their sofa affected with the burn. We were in the upstairs part of the bar. As soon as that happened , a few members of staff came over and were unsympathetic to the unintentional accident and were ONLY concerned about the cubes which had affected parts of their sofa and payment. They requested we paid £500 for damages. They were not willing to compromise much and said the best they could do was 420. They were totally unsympathetic and were only concerned about collecting their money. Wasn’t bothered that I had a burn on my leg. The management was mean and nasty. I would not recommend

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.😢 Visited this place today with my family based on a recommendation from a food blogger on TikTik and it was a complete letdown from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was empty (on a Friday night), and there was no one to greet us. We had to go all the way to the kitchen and knock for someone to come out.😂 We ordered drinks: two apple mojitos (which were literally just boxed apple juice with mint and no ice) and a lemonade that turned out to be soda water. All drinks were served in cups—not even glasses. We had to return them and just asked for soft drinks instead. Then came the food: we ordered paneer, fish bites, and wings. No plates or cutlery were provided—we had to ask, and the server looked surprised we even wanted them. The fish was extremely salty, the wings were basic at best, and only the paneer was decent. Throughout the meal, not once were we checked on or asked if everything was okay. We decided not to order any more and just asked for the bill—again, no one was around. We had to call out loudly just to get someone to come out and take payment. No thank you, no goodbye, nothing. It felt like a one-woman show run by someone with zero customer service experience. And an empty restaurant on a Friday night really says a lot. Honestly, you’d get better service at a fast food drive-thru. Just sharing this so others don’t waste their time and money like we did.

I absolutely loved it here. I went on a Saturday with my boyfriend. The service was amazing, the team were very welcoming, the shisha was actually really good!!! So smooth!! Food was 10/10. Music was on point. I would definitely come back again. Thank you for an amazing night guys X

Possibly one of the best night club I've been to, the sound system is insane and my body was still pumping after I'd left. The area is great and actually makes for a brilliant night as all the bar staff were really friendly and super helpful. Also the security guys were really friendly and work hard to keep everyone safe throughout the night. All in all, it was a great night and an amazing venue and defo will be coming back. Drinks are affordable and cheap, cocktails on point served with a smile. It’s an amazing to be and met lovely people, great atmosphere, great DJ’s, music always on point and a mixture / variety of songs to keep everyone and every age dancing the whole night long, great staff. From entry to exit and very professional and friendly.
Jason K — Google review
Not a very nice experience. The positives are it’s done up quite nicely. The staff were all pretty polite and friendly. The negatives are it’s very expensive, priced like a swanky central London club. Way too few staff serving drinks. I counted 3 with not far off 80 people waiting to be served. Way more security staff than bar staff which could be good or bad depending on your outlook. Also the clientele seemed quite thuggish with some trying to control the bar area to ensure only they and their friends could get near the bar staff. Doubt i will visit again but hopefully the positives and constructive criticism lead to so some future improvement
James M — Google review
The downstairs of canvas was heaving the upstairs had a closed bar and nobody up there - with the exception of those using it for a toilet. The club bouncers are extremely friendly and will probably be more than likely to try and go home with you. Drink glasses are dirty as you would expect for a bar in Watford. RnB, Hip Hop and Tribal Tunes of the moment playing to a packed out dance floor.
