The Hinds Head is a modern gastropub located in Bray, known for its traditional decor and exceptional English dishes with a unique twist, all designed by renowned chef Heston Blumenthal. The pub has received accolades such as the Great British Pub of the Year for food, attracting diners from around the world.
An absolutely fantastic meal and an exceptional experience, as always. This was my fourth time at The Hinds Head, and each visit seems to get even better. The entire experience is a testament to their Michelin star. The interior decor is charming and creates a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. What truly elevates the experience is the service, which is consistently top-drawer. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and make you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you walk in. For starters, I had the famous scotch egg and the special sausage, both served with their outstanding mustard mayo dip. The main event was the T-bone special, which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. It came with crispy triple-cooked chips and some fresh seasonal vegetables. We finished the meal with a special chocolate dessert that was over 50% cocoa—a rich and delicious end to the evening. It's no wonder this place holds a Michelin star. The food, especially the steak, is some of the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be returning to The Hinds Head; it remains one of my favorite dining spots.
Arjun G — Google review
We made a reservation and went for lunch. Having watched videos and read reviews, I had expectations. They were not met by the quality. I ordered a Scotch Egg, the sausage was not cooked. The triple cooked chips were tougher than I thought they would be. I have had better chips from shops in Amsterdam or Belgium. The fish was very crispy and the filet was really juicy. Their cod had the oily texture of sea bass. The mushy peas were dry and the only flavor was mint. They might have been having an off day. We made a serious detour in our trip just to eat here. It was disappointing and I would not recommend it.
Who C — Google review
For the prestige of this place, we were quite disappointed. The triple cooked chips they are famous for were chewy and a bit stale. The fish was nice but for the price point and the fact that this is a Michelin starred pub, it didn’t really hit the mark. The pie my partner had was salty and dry. We came in with high expectations and left feeling a bit deflated. The staff overall were lovely and attentive and the place itself is cozy and has a good atmosphere. The best thing we had was the bread and gravy as a starter, that was absolutely delicious. I’d recommend going there for a drink as it’s a lovely place, but for a great pub meal for less money, I’d go elsewhere.
Alessia T — Google review
Second time in this pub and the quality was as good as the first time. Staff is so attentive and helpful. Food OMG fish and chips (particularly chips) amazing! Lovely quail egg to start with alongside beetroot starter was absolutely amazing ! Duck slightly tougher than I wanted it to be but tasted so great. Bit spenny lunch but worth every penny.
Wioletta R — Google review
Heston take a bow! A wonderful British pub experience. Everything was perfect from entry to exit, with my birthday being acknowledged at the very start. Food was seasoned well, cooked perfectly, and service was faultless - as you would expect from a Michelin star establishment. You have to be confident to allow the steak to be “medium rare” only - it was perfect. Boom! One point lost for the “discretionary” 12.5% service charge. There really is no need, this is not America and we are more than capable of deciding what to tip.
Experienced R — Google review
Lovely and friendly staff who when I spoke to, to book, last minute, went above and beyond the accommodate us. Food was plentiful for the price and of great quality, it was our second visit and we will be back again soon. Parking at the venue itself is limited but there is plenty of parking nearby. Recommend for everything from a date night to a birthday bash!

The Hinds Head is a charming pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I really enjoy visiting for both the friendly service and the quality of the food. The menu has a great selection of traditional British dishes, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The staff are attentive and make you feel right at home, whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or a full meal. The cozy setting makes it perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxing evening. Overall, The Hinds Head is one of my favorite local spots for good food, great service, and a genuine pub experience.
Daniel C — Google review
We recently visited The Hinds Head and, while the food was decent and in line with a good traditional pub, it lacked the creativity, attention to detail, and overall experience one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. We had booked regular seating but discovered on arrival that the menu was limited to a fixed three-course option, with no à la carte choices. Surprisingly, the restaurant’s signature dish — fish and chips — was not included. This was disappointing, especially given its reputation. Service also fell short of Michelin standards. Staff were polite but inattentive. We had to repeatedly ask for water refills, and when desserts were served, cutlery was forgotten for almost ten minutes — by the time it arrived, the ice cream had melted. Additionally, one of the three dessert options (the cheesecake) was unavailable, leaving only two choices, which felt poorly planned for a restaurant of this level. The men’s toilets were also in poor condition, with paper towels on the floor and soggy areas, something that should not happen in an establishment of this caliber. Overall, The Hinds Head remains a charming pub with solid food, but it does not live up to Michelin star expectations — mainly due to a lack of kitchen planning, limited menu flexibility, and inattentive service. A good pub, yes — but not a one-star Michelin experience.

Nestled just outside Maidenhead, the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts is a charming cultural hub that beautifully blends creativity and community spirit. Housed in a historic 18th-century dairy farmhouse, this vibrant venue offers an eclectic mix of performances including theatre, live music, comedy shows, and even film screenings. With its inviting on-site café and bar, visitors can enjoy refreshments while soaking up the artistic atmosphere.
A great centre for arts in Maidenhead. I've watched comedians and music performances. The main stage and seating is quite small which makes for a great experience. There is a bar and food is available. I've only eaten there once, and it was very nice! Parking can be a challenge, but you can park on the road or in Altwood school, just up the road.

A really fantastic venue on the outskirts of Maidenhead. I only had time to attend a gig in the studio which was converted for the evening into an intimate theatre. Very friendly staff and very well curated.

We had a great time here at the summer beach ‘Norden-by-the-Sea’ they do for children/families. Took our 3.7 year old granddaughter who absolutely loved playing in the sand and boat. We stayed about 3 hours and had coffees, lunch and a drink. Good range of food choices for big and little people. Good service. Toilets a little on the messy side but not too bad considering how busy it was.

My first visit here to attend a live Show. I had a beer, fish and chips outdoors at the cafe. The Theatre was lovely, except being in the front row, the stage was too high. A nice experience though

We held our Mum's 90th Afternoon Tea Party at Norden Farm Arts Centre on Saturday. We hired the Nordens barn. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we visited and knew it would be perfect for the kind of party Mum would like. From the outset Rachel, the events co ordinator was amazing. Liaising with us on a regular basis and answering all our questions calmly and efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day itself we were able to set up and decorate the room in plenty of time. Special mention to the duty staff that afternoon, Kianna, Kim and Abi who were absolutely amazing in making sure Mum had the best party. Again nothing was too much trouble for them. The party itself was just perfect. The guests absolutely loved their afternoon. The afternoon tea/ buffet was so delicious and plentiful!! Lots of doggy bags to go home with! ( again provided by Nordens) . The afternoon couldn't have been any better and we are so very grateful to everyone at Norden Farm that worked so hard to make it a party that we as a family and none of the guests will ever forget 🩷

Visited to watch a film that wasn’t on in the mainstream cinemas; easy to book and cheaper. Coffee shop/bar had a good selection of drinks and snacks. Loads of parking and all in all a pleasant visit. As well as visiting for the film we also went along to the Craft Market they had on Saturday night. No parking on site but they’d sorted parking out a tire school up the inroad. A good variety of stalls, including hot food, there was live music and a bar, we had a lovely time.

We got a free kite making workshop as my daughter is a young carer. Kids loved it. Food is good but couple of items on the menu weren't available

I have lived next door to Norden Farm since I was born and could not recommend it enough! Really great place for entertainment from movies to plays to stand up, catching up with a friend, joining a community event, visiting the market or just sitting down to do some work for the day on my laptop! Big shout out to the lads on the bar for always being so welcoming!

Milaanj at The Beehive Pub & Restaurant is a delightful spot that beautifully marries Indian cuisine with classic British fare, all set within the charming ambiance of a red-brick village pub. With its modern and chic decor, this venue offers an inviting atmosphere for diners. Guests can enjoy a variety of meals throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. Additionally, it caters to diverse dietary preferences by providing vegetarian-friendly dishes as well as vegan and gluten-free choices.
Milaanj @ The Beehive, White Waltham – A story told through flavour... Before even stepping foot into Milaanj, I had a little interaction with someone from their team over Instagram. I’m not sure exactly who it was, but they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain one of the dishes to me—and that kind of genuine enthusiasm really stuck with me. It set the tone for the experience that followed. Milaanj has already picked up two AA Rosettes ⭐ ⭐ , and honestly—it’s easy to see why. Some time ago, when I heard The Bee was no longer ''The Bee'' as we knew it, I wasn’t convinced. But one of my favourite things in life is being proven wrong in the best possible way. I headed over to The Beehive, knowing food service starts at 5:30pm (a nice little win for early diners like me). It was a Thursday, which also happens to be ''Curry Night''—what better time to sample the owner's culinary flair? First Impressions: The warmest welcome started with poppadoms on the house—two varieties, paired with a beautifully balanced homemade mango chutney and a light, zingy Kachumber salad. I was told the mangoes are from the owner’s family home in India—who doesn’t love a good backstory? It instantly felt like more than just a meal; it was a shared experience. A thoughtful, generous start to the evening that immediately made the visit feel personal and special. To Start: I tried the Awash Lamb Kebab, and I have to say—this was a dish with serious finesse. Minced lamb kebab with mint and coriander emulsion, saffron yoghurt, sago crackers, and garlic aioli. A true work of art on the plate and an explosion of textures and flavour on the palate. Every element felt considered, balanced, and full of intention. Genuinely impressive. Main Course: For my main, I went for the Chef’s Special – Purani Dilli Butter Chicken. Tender grilled chicken in a rich, creamy tomato and cashew nut gravy, infused with freshly ground masalas. It delivered exactly what it promised—an authentic taste of old Delhi. The chicken was of great quality, cooked with real care, and the flavour was deep and comforting. I paired it with a Lachaa Paratha, which was flaky, buttery and everything you’d hope for. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, and mains don’t include sides—but when the quality is this good, you honestly don’t mind. You get what you pay for. Dessert Now, I could have stopped there... but I didn’t. My dad’s made this dessert for years, so I had to try the Gajar Ka Halwa to see how it compared. Verdict? Absolute perfection. Made with red Indian carrots, simmered in milk, with just the right whisper of cardamom and topped with crunchy nuts. Sweet, but not cloying. The nuts were a surprise but worked so well—they added depth and contrast to the softness of the dish. Nostalgic, warming, and utterly satisfying. To Finish: I rounded off the evening with a cappuccino for the 30 mile drive home—and it was everything you’d want it to be: rich, strong, beautifully crafted, and served with a homemade petit four (which was a nice touch). Final Thoughts: Milaanj is not your average Indian restaurant. It’s a place where stories are told through flavour, where each dish feels personal, and where you're treated to a true culinary experience. It’s a little more expensive than your typical curry night—but this isn’t a typical curry night. It's something far more special. Can’t wait to go back.

Gem in Berkshire. Loved everything about the experience, beautiful restaurant opposite a cricket pitch. The hospitalality was fantastic with the restaurant manager greeting us when we arrived. Amritsari fish and potato pave chaat to start, both dishes had a unique twists, the fish batter included mango powder and chaat, the potato chaat presented so well i didn't want to eat it, so good. Before that we were served warm masala bread with sundried tomato infused butter, I've never had anything like it and knew this was going to be an excellent meal from that point. The Lamb Shank smelt so good, marinated for 6 hours and the sauce it was covered in tasted of tender love and care, spicy and seasoned with onion and ground spices to perfection.

Really good starters. Loved the scotch eggs and lamb. Just a little disappointed that on Sunday the normal menu is not there. Still really good food, just different. Enjoyed the complimentary turmeric bread and sundried tomato butter a lot! Service was great and so was the atmosphere. Very beautiful pub.

Absolutely wonderful find tucked away near Maidenhead but definitely worth a visit; if you are looking for a standard curry house, there are other good places; if you want a gastronomic experience not to be forgotten, visit this place. The ambiance lovely, the Michelin style presentation was stunning and each and every dish was delicious; coming from someone with Indian parents with very high food standards, we really loved visiting and look forward to going back with friends!

An unforgettable dining experience at Milaanj at The Beehive by Chef Ruchi! From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome, warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. We had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a Chef's Table experience, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Chef Ruchi, a 2 Rosette chef, took us on a beautiful culinary journey that perfectly balanced creativity, tradition, and bold flavors. The highlight? Her signature lamb shank, fall-off-the-bone tender, deeply spiced was truly unforgettable. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The cocktails were just as impressive, creative, balanced, and the perfect compliment to the menu. A huge thank you to Chef Ruchi and the entire team for an experience we’ll be talking about for a long time. This place is a gem! Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates exceptional food !

Food is nice but the quantities they serve are very less and being a vegetarian i could find very less options and the menu is very short to choose. they have 2 options of vegetarian in main menu so we have no option other than choosing them. The menu could be better atleast with 5 options of each.

Coppa Club in Maidenhead is a fashionable bar-restaurant that offers a vibrant atmosphere and various seating options. Located near the town center, it features eye-catching windows and luxurious exteriors. Inside, patrons can enjoy pastel-colored armchairs, a chic bar area, and private dining booths. Whether you're seeking a place to work, have brunch, or enjoy a dinner date, Coppa Club is an ideal choice.
I booked a table for 20 people with no problem at all but at the last minute had to increase it by 2 more. This was absolutely no issue whatsoever with this establishment. This meal was the evening prior to my son's wedding for family members from all over the world so very important. When we arrived we were greeted with warmth from the various members of staff, everyone was so helpful and patient (patience was needed I can assure you). I was taken though to where we would all be dining and it was a lovely private space that could not have been better. The service was second to none and a special shout out to Ella who was brilliant with all of the different requirements from our party, of which there were many. Everyone was so kind and there was absolutely no pressure at any time. When we came to pay the bill it was such a complicated affair, but, as with everything that evening this was done with such patience. I would like to thank Jamie especially. He was wonderful. I am only sorry that he did not get the chance to have a chat with my son as Jamie has a very special event himself coming up very soon. Unfortunately parking restrictions broke up the party for some of us sooner than others. I hope that your special day goes as well as my son and his now wife's day did, it was magical and the evening prior to this wonderful day kicked everything off perfectly! Thank you all that took the time to be so kind and patient on that evening, this review does not really come close to how grateful I am for all that you did for us.

Had the full English breakfast here. It was pretty decent, nothing too remarkable taste wise. The blood sausage was fried but didn’t taste of anything noticeable. The beans were bit more on the sweeter side. The sausage and bacon was decent as well. Also got an old fashioned drink which was pretty strong. The atmosphere of the place was beautiful, they had outdoor seating and was perfect during the sunny afternoon. The service was fine as well. The prices are reasonable for a place like this. Overall it’s a good option if you’re in Maidenhead.

we might have dinner there on 18th June 2025, I will let you know how it goes. we are here now, we ordered, but for the first 25 minutes we are waiting for them to bring tap water. and after 30 minutes from ordering, our order included 2 plates of fish and chips, the waiter came telling us that they only had only one plate of that, our guest had to change his order. the stake came with no knife to cut it, and the knife on the table is definitely not for cutting the chewy stake we were served

We recently hosted our engagement party at Coppa Club Maidenhead, booking the Garden Room for around 30 guests, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect! We went for pizzas and nibbles, which were a huge hit with everyone. What really stood out to me was how understanding they were. At first there was a bit of hesitation about having an acoustic musician, but in the end they kindly allowed it and it made the evening so special. They also let us bring in our own photographer, decoration and cake, which we really appreciated. The venue itself is stunning, the vibe was relaxed yet classy, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. A special shoutout to manager Jamie for being so accommodating. I’d recommend Coppa Club Maidenhead for anyone looking to host an event, it’s a really beautiful venue with a lovely team.

I had the pleasure of being served by Ella, and she made my dining experience outstanding. From the moment we sat down, Ella greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. She was attentive without being overbearing, always checking in at just the right times. Ella was knowledgeable about the menu, gave excellent recommendations, and made sure all of our requests were taken care of quickly. What really stood out was her genuine friendliness—she treated us like valued guests rather than just another table. Thanks to her, the meal felt special and enjoyable from start to finish. Ella is a true asset to the restaurant, and I’ll definitely be asking for her again next time I come in

Not a fan. There was almost a queue of people chasing to get the bill, to the point that when we arrived we mistook diners as front-of-house staff. Service is SLOW, & the team disinterested, which is fair enough when you're busy but surely everyone should want to get you paying the bill? The wine selection is sub-par, and the food was quite disappointing. I do not recommend the carbonara. Looks like a safe bet but it's all looks and no substance.

We came into Coppa club on a weekday. The toasted focaccia is something I would come in for again it was amazing, and a good portion to share alongside the squid to start. The crab linguine was also yummy. Ella was our server and helped recommend these dishes which did not disappoint! So thank you so much 🙌

Such great food!! We stopped in for dinner on a ok day night so it was quiet but still had a great atmosphere. There is a beautiful conservatory with lots of plants in. There's a really nice café on the high street in Maidenhead that I recently visited. It's pleasantly quiet, providing a relaxing atmosphere perfect for a leisurely meal or a bit of work. They offer a fantastic range of breakfast options, from classic dishes to more modern twists, ensuring there's something for everyone. The service is friendly and efficient, making the whole experience enjoyable and worth revisiting.

It's a nice little restaurant and cafe that services italian food and English breakfast. We went there as we couldn't find anything else with the kitchen open after 3 pm. They managed to accommodate us as it wasn't busy and but they told us that we had to wait about 20 min for the food, which was fine. Their homemade lemonade is nice, and they serve their moka in very big cups. The food portions are also quite big. The chicken was okay, although a bit more seasoning would make it even better, and the pasta was also good, but nothing too special. The service was nice and friendly. But it will be nice if they freshen up the place to make it more cosy and do some renovation of their customer toilets.

Very friendly staff. Had the American breakfast I changed out hash browns for beans , it came out in good time and was nice and hot. The eggs a good size, beans nice bacon was nice, sausage was rather dry and over cooked, shame as it would have been a 5 star breakfast.

[Breakfast]. Very good value and good quality. Cumberland sausage was nicely cooked and good quality. Eggs were poached and still soft, shape could have been better. Really liked the mushrooms cooked in Garlic butter which gave them a good flavour. Beans as well with 2 slices of bread. And the bacon was good as well. Oh and the large tea was well large and had 2 Teabags with proper biking water which gave a great strong brew, rather than the semi hot water from a coffee machine likely most places. The bacon & egg sandwich was also great as well. The only room for improvement would be more mushrooms and a freshly baked loaf, but then it would cost more. Will we go back - Yes

The staff really outdo themselves, very attentive, polite and quick. I love this place for their breakfast meals which have different variations of an English breakfast. The tapas are also a great choice. The food is really tasty but some meals I’ve found just a little bit too oily. The service is amazing and prices are really fair.

The Boathouse at Boulters Lock is a relaxed riverside establishment that offers a diverse modern British menu and an extensive selection of wines. The venue also provides picturesque views of the river, adding to the overall dining experience. With its casual ambiance and delicious offerings, it's a great spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or brunch while taking in the scenic surroundings.
We visited on a Saturday evening, and it was quite busy. The gentleman at the front (I believe his name was Michael) was warm and welcoming, making sure we had a table reserved for the next hour. As we waited, we enjoyed our drinks and the stunning view. The cocktails were flavorful, with a great variety of options. Now, onto the meal... it was absolutely exceptional! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. I was so impressed that I almost ordered more. I can confidently say this was the best dining experience I've had. A big thank you to the staff, management, and chef for their excellent work. I will definitely be back and will happily recommend this place to others!

Great location and beautiful riverside views. The food was delicious, we also ordered fish & chips where the fish portion was huge and steak. The mash was excellent. In all honesty I have to commend the staff for their hospitality and would definitely recommend coming here. The views from most areas at the boathouse are amazing. There is a car park a few minutes walk away. I will be coming here again!

Beautiful & stunning restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious and the right amount on the plate. We were given the best table facing the river ❤️. Allergies were taken care of, deserve 10/10 for that..thank you Emily for ur attentive service. Definitely visiting again 💯💯💯💯💯

Perfect stop, on the river, with indoor and outdoor seating and I think all day meals. Waiters had a switch while we were there and not that attentive, but menu and food was perfect...we mixed just starters with mains. Alcohol steps up the cost, as anywhere. Fish and chips was hot and tasty. Cod fillet also.

Great location and busy which is always a good sign!! Enjoyed a Sunday evening meal here. Fish pie was delicious and my husband said his roast beef was the best he'd had for a long time. Good portions too. Crumble was hot and tasted very homemade. Ollie was super efficient and attentive, walking 2 nearby car park to find me as I'd left my jacket behind. Will definitely put this one in my return to another time for sure list!! Well done team.

Lovely situation by the lock on the Thames. Only had coffees and but the hot chocolate came with Smarties and Marshmallows!
David H — Google review
This place could be so much better if the staff actually bother to look after their customers and pay attention. We waited for ages to be served our drinks after ordering, while meanwhile our starter arrived, our nibbles were forgotten. We had steaks and I can't say the rump was properly cooked. Felt very rushed, almost like a dinner at Wetherspoons. Can't call this a restaurant at all. Nearby tables not cleaned for ages, despite a huge amount of staff working.
Teodora T — Google review
Food was really delicious and the atmosphere was great (it was also probably just a sunny day tbf, but regardless i had such a great time). The only reason why this place lost one star was really because of the pricing. eating here will definitely blow a hole in your wallet, and you might have to live off meal deals for the next 3 days. It is a posh restaurant in a posh neighbourhood so my wallet and i came prepared. Still an amazing place with amazing food! will definitely come back again

What a lovely location next to the River Thames. Warm friendly atmosphere and good food at sensible prices. All 3 courses we had were well presented delicious and good sized. Would definitely visit again.

The Thames Riviera hotel is situated very close to the river. Scenic view of the river, a bridge and a park across the road. The room we had was clean, had a view of the river but toiletries were mean (one small tube of shower gel & shampoo between 2 occupants). Breakfast also included and was adequate. We had dinner the night we checked in but the service was slow due to staff calling in sick and poor Miki was the only staff taking orders, serving, clearing the tables and also serving behind the bar. She really worked hard and did her best.
Har F — Google review
We stayed one night at the Thames riviera hotel and our stay included dinner and breakfast. Good English breakfast- quick service when things were getting low. All the regular stuff. Rather good coffee despite it being from a machine. Probably could do with some yoghurt for the cereal. The dinner the previous night was adequate. Good chicken wings. The mains, dare I say came from a ‘central kitchen’?! They tasted okay but nothing to go overboard about. Service every where was friendly and quick.

We decided to visit the Blue River Cafe during a cold winter walk along the Jubilee River at Dorney and Maidenhead. The hotel building from the front is not much to entice you in but once inside, the welcome was warm as we made our way to the bar, initially to order a warm drink. However, with the bar being just a few paces from the restaurant area where there was a fine Sunday roast buffet being served, the temptation was too much. Wonderfully cooked food, moist and tasty, all served with a smile and pleasant chat from the staff. Hospitality wonderful too from the restaurant manager, an oriental lady called One, who ensured we were comfortable and satisfied. Great carvery of Turkey or Beef for just £12.95. Puddings were delicious at about £6. I fully recommend a visit.

Lovely setting next to the Thames and opposite Maidenhead Rowing Club. Only had drinks but having stayed and ate at the same place, the food was very average.

We had previously visited and were disappointed with the upkeep on the building. Went today and what a transformation. The place was clean and very upmarket. The staff were very polite and attentive to us. The good was lovely and relatively inexpensive considering portion size. The overall experience was delightful and the food was delicious and well presented. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

If you're looking for fine dining in Taplow, Roux at Skindles is definitely worth considering.
We had an enjoyable evening at Roux at Skindles. The staff were welcoming, professional and attentive. The atmosphere was a bit too ‘Canteeny’ for us for a Saturday evening, but we still enjoyed the lively and vibrant atmosphere. The food was good all round. I prefer a bit more garlic on my Snails, but the tasty Steak and peppercorn sauce made up for it. Overall, well worth a visit.

Excellent attentive service, The steak was excellent, but the Chicken Kiev was distinctly light on the expected garlic! The dining area was full so there was a lot of background noise, but we were still able to hold a comfortable conversation.

Absolutely everything is absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and staff (of all ages) spot on. 3rd visit for us, anything you order is a statement on how that classic should be cooked, presented and tasted. Brilliant cocktails as well, I don’t usually have them. Again, a reminder of what it should taste like. 4 adults, 2 courses, 4 cocktails and 2 wines £300. Price is honest too.

Wonderful lunch today with my husband at Skindles. We had a fabulous table by the river on a glorious summer day and the whole experience was utter perfection. Cookie served us and was brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble and he was great fun whilst making sure we had everything we could possibly need. Incredible prawn cocktail and smoked salmon starters followed by a very special superfood salad and fish main course. We will be back very soon and hopefully be looked after by Cookie again!

Went a few weeks ago with my work colleagues. It was nice to get dressed up, Greeting was lovely. The waiting staff was just wonderful, they made jokes with us, it was such a relaxing feeling to the evening. The food was amazing. Drinks are also nice and they make a good Espresso Martini. My colleague all enjoyed their meals, one had the snails, she said she always has them. My other colleague and I had the cheese soufflé which was outstanding. There was also a vegan Burger, Bavette Steak and a cod which was had for mains. We will return together again and also I will bring my family next time. Thank you for making our evening out special.

We had a fabulous lunch at this wonderful French restaurant today.the customer service was just lovely. The staff were approachable and very friendly. The interior was clean and well decorated. We love the location right on the water front. The food was exquisite. We had the fish tagine, it was very tastey and simple. I will be returning for Father's day with my husband and son.

We treked from West London to this Michelin guide restaurant. We were able to book a table the day before but not at the window. We felt the service was a bit haphazard and the waiter was abrupt. We ordered the Sunday roast. But after a few minutes we were still missing vegetables and gravy and had to ask. It seemed that perhaps they were a bit overworked. The roast beef was fine but quite unremarkable. I'm afraid not worth the journey especially considering the price tag.
Stuart C — Google review
Passed by and decided to have a lunch on Sunday. Didn’t book in advance and place was extremely busy for Sunday roast . Staff kindly offered us to stay in cocktail bar what serves some limited menu, but it was enough to make us full and enjoy the food and drink. Ordered Normandy onion soup, lobster hot dog, vegetarian hot dog and calamari. Received top service. Very caring staff and a beautiful view. Will return to try deserts and visit the restaurant.

Breakfast restaurant
The Bear - JD Wetherspoon is a historic pub that offers real ales and an extensive menu of pub grub. Located in an airy setting with a flagstone floor, this establishment is known for its perfect pours of Guinness. It may get busy over the weekend, but the fast service ensures you won't wait long for your selection from their great beer options.
Tried out the Bear for breakfast as quick and easy plus it saves us cooking and cleaning. We had a traditional breakfast with some extra bacon and mushrooms, miners Benedict and 2 hot drinks. Our mugs arrived quickly and drinks are self service but easy to get. Our food arrived not long after and hit the spot; young lady who brought was lovely and polite as well as helpful. Breakfast disappeared quickly along with a second hot drink. Staff checked on whether we’d enjoyed breakfast and overall our experience was very positive. Used the app to order breakfast and found it easy to use. A nice breakfast and experience for us so we’ll be heading back.
Spencer V — Google review
Great pricing and a good location, right in the middle of town with decent service. The food is pretty standard pub grub with some 'flair'. Not much of a vibe though with occasional music(scarce). Decent outside area with seating and tables.

It’s okay, but there are issues. Hot chocolate and mocha have been removed from the breakfast free refills, which is disappointing. The machines also underperform—pressing “Hot Milk” gives barely an inch. If these were fixed, I’d have given 5 stars.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Whilst the food looked good, unfortunately not all of the dishes were flavoursome: my cod and chorizo fishcake for example was more potato with only a very faint taste of chorizo. The ribs were very good though and overall, the price was quite reasonable.

The Fat Buddha, an Indian restaurant in Maidenhead, provided a warm welcome to a party of four who arrived without a reservation on a weekday evening. They were promptly seated and received efficient service. The food was delivered quickly, expertly prepared, and truly delicious. There was no sign of any dishes being dry or kept for too long. The fat buddha is our favourite indian restaurant. We absolutely love going there because the food and the cocktails are amazing, and when we don't feel like going out, we order takeaway. They never fail to impress our taste buds. The takeaway food is just as amazing. The portions are generous, and the flavours are out of this world! We've already booked our Christmas dinner there and cannot wait to go! 😍

We were greeted with a friendly welcome and got to choose our table, which was a nice touch. The staff were attentive throughout and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was actually really good – the chicken and lamb were both cooked beautifully and very tender. However, the flavours weren’t very authentic, and the portion sizes were quite small for the price. Overall, a decent experience, but I wouldn’t go again.

New Sheesh Maidenhead is an exceptional Turkish restaurant that stands out among its counterparts. With a variety of delectable starters and scrumptious bread, it offers a dining experience like no other. The main dishes, particularly the mixed platter/grill for two, are abundant and satisfying. The meat is incredibly tender, practically falling off the bone. Cooked to perfection on coal, each bite boasts a unique and delightful taste.
Wow, is what I would use for this place. I have been to many similar restaurants but not come out as satisfied as I was when leaving Sheesh. The starters we had were amazing and the bread they served with it was great. I would just go for the bread!!! On to the mains, we got a mixed platter/grill for 2 of us and that was more than enough. The meats were so tender that it was melting of the bone. Everything was cooked to perfection and with it being cooked on coal it gave it an extra special taste. I loved it and would definitely recommend you try it if you are the area. 5 stars all the way!!!
Nazim K — Google review
Oh Dear I had some hi expectations and to be fair I didn’t take enough pictures as it was only after we had started the food that it was apparent that this was not a great place to eat. £23 mixed kebab - 3 pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of lamb … seriously ? Chips - Arrived 5 mins after the mains and were not cooked... semi raw. Clearly not cooked at the same time Starters - the didn’t have half the items when we were ordering..... which was a shame . Starters were nice - the bullet chillis are not for the faint hearted !! Won’t be back though . Not good value at all . And the toilets ?? Oh dear , nuff said

Food is fresh and well presented, bread they give you with your order is amazing but I find all dishes too salty and way overpriced. I have tried it twice, few months apart as I thought maybe I had a bad day the first time but it was the same. I really do not like how the chefs/staff shout to each other in a different language, it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Wow, that was awesome. I am no Turkish cuisine expert, but the food here was delicious. A few new flavors that we had not had before, but it was all very well prepared. My wife is not the most adventurous of eaters, but she really liked the cold meze, and the shish. The spicy jelly with the chicken sheesh and the lamb sheesh with the tiziki sauce was just perfect. We will be back.

Lovely team, nice bar though limited seating if you're only drinking. We visited for the weekend and the lad behind the bar recognised us and asked after our weekend plans which was nice. Very good food with some very nice touches. My chips were very slightly under, but not all of them. I have no idea how they make their peas and tartar sauce taste so good!

We went here for Sunday lunch but although the food was tasty a few things we experienced which I hope helps - - Roasts - only options were pork and beef (over £27!), no chicken or vegetarian options and never offer chicken apparently. This we were surprised at because not everyone is that keen on red meat (including me) and love a roast but would rather chicken or vegetarian option - Over priced. I think this is the most expensive roast I have ever seen on a menu - Serving size of the roasts could have been bigger really especially given the price - Roasts - lukewarm - Only 3 x small roast potatoes included - Lime and sodas £3.50! - Waiting time from ordering to receiving the mains were long - Sausage and mash £18.00 and rather small, more of a children’s portion. For the price one would expect either a bigger portion or some greens to be included We felt it was rather disappointing, however the carrots and red cabbage were especially delicious. The beef was soft and it was tasty but very overpriced.

Rude women on site, just has no customers manners, she lied to Jade the manager and said I was being nasty to her, just gave her feedback as a paying customer. She then talks to her colleagues about us while we're right next to her. We're not deaf. They cancelled our movie while we brought all our popcorn and drinks, spending over £50 and to be told that you can't go in. This women clearly needed a coffee break.

*Update* I have been here a good few times now with me SEN children and had a great experience, the staff are great and very understanding (my youngest takes his pad and ear defenders in with him). We went to watch the new superman on Sunday 13/7/2025. The sound was ridiculously loud. The comments from several folk after the movie was that it was w-a-a-ay too loud. I had to block my ears for about 85% of the movie and I still heard everything. Does this cinema have no regard for the health and safety of their patron’s hearing?!?!? No wonder the seats are empty…. Who’s going to pay that kind of money to have their hearing damaged?

We will continue to recommend the Golden Ball to everyone & anyone!!

Fantastic everything. From the moment we stepped in, the staff were absolutely fantastic and so friendly and helpful, we sat in the conservatory on a hot summer day and it was perfectly pleasant for us and our baby. We ordered the signature burger and it was by far superior than any burger we’ve had in the area for a while! Drinks were okay but needed more Attention as my old fashioned was more of a lemonade without ice. Highly recommend coming and visiting this pub fantastic atmosphere.

This place was incredible. The family that owns the place were extremely friendly, and the food was fantastic. We went a second time and were treated just as well. I would absolutely go back.

Wow, wow wow!! Been meaning to come here for such a long time. I had seen lots of good reviews and I am so glad I chose this pub for Mothers Day, the mum's loved it. Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere. The most delicious roast dinner I have had in years and 1st class service, I couldn't recommend this place enough. We will definitely be returning, thank you for making us so welcome xx

Five stars simply aren't enough to capture the magic of our experience at The Golden Ball! We were welcomed with open arms, making it the perfect setting for a large family gathering to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. The staff were exceptional – attentive, friendly, and ensured everything flowed seamlessly throughout the evening. But the true star of the show was the food! Sensational doesn't even begin to describe it. Every dish we ordered was an explosion of flavour , beautifully presented on the plate. Fresh, top-quality ingredients were evident in every bite, a testament to the chef's remarkable talent. We sampled a variety of dishes, catering to different tastes, and everyone raved about their choices. My mum, in particular, felt incredibly special throughout the night. The staff went the extra mile to acknowledge her birthday in a thoughtful way, adding a personal touch that truly made the afternoon. The Golden Ball provided the perfect ambiance for a family celebration, and helped make my mum's 60th a truly unforgettable occasion! If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, then look no further than The Golden Ball! It's a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it can get. We can't wait to return for another memorable meal

Historical landmark
Nestled along the picturesque River Thames, Boulters Lock has been a beloved destination since its establishment in 1772. This charming lock and weir not only serves as a functional waterway but also as a vibrant social hub where visitors can enjoy various activities. During the summer months, it transforms into an ideal kayaking spot with a convenient fixed ramp for easy access to canoes and kayaks.
♒️🌲🌳☕️🍦🎬🚤Not surprisingly, Boulters Lock, leading to Ray Mill Island and Boulters Weir, is rated #2 out of 20 best things to do in Maidenhead on TripAdvisor. This iconic site dating back to 1772 showcases the old England water transportation system and the fascination of locks. The beautification of Ray Mill Island, complete with the iconic hotel, open to passing guests for food and drinks, the well maintained family park, river Thames views, cafe, statues, play park and seating areas, make this a wonderful urban countryside destination that's also free for the whole family. Admire the Riverside houses and boats, look in wonder at the power of water, pass through the weir, and feed the ducks and swans some bread on the other side. ♥️

Lock on the Thames with loads of greenary and flowers and ducks all around. Nice place to walk around. I saw people fishing. There are many boats docked around. Parking is available almost all the time throughout the year. Has a nice pub for serving you food and drinks.

I asked a while back for recomendations for river walks and this was place was one that lots of people had voted for so it was added to the bucketlist. Really nice walks and river views and I was particularly fond of the connected Ray Mill island. Haven't tried the restaurant yet but It's on the list.

Lovely meal for four with views of the river. Staff were very attentive and the service was very excellent. There is only very limited in site parking, so it’s a short walk from the public car park opposite, which meant we could enjoy a bit more of the river views before and after eating. Very nice indeed.

Cricketers Gin has become a delightful choice for gifting, especially with their charming gift packs that cater to various occasions. The miniatures pack featuring both Blush and London Dry gin is particularly popular, making it an ideal networking or client gift. Recently, the hamper pack caught attention as well, showcasing a medium original Cricketers Gin paired with two bottles of Fever Tree tonic—elegantly presented in a beautifully wrapped box.
We love the Cricketers Gift packs for client & networking gifts. We've now purchase two types of gift pack - we started with their pack of two miniatures - one of the Blush and one London dry gin which are very cute and popular! More recently Rachel suggested the hamper pack - with the medium original Cricketers gin along with 2 bottles of Fever Tree tonic - all beautifully packaged in a box and finished with a ribbon. They looked really special, and with re-usable packaging were good for the environment. They even came with individual labels for our personal messages. Amazing service from Rachel and the team!

I bought some Cricketers Gin for my husband, as a gift for Father's Day. It was delicious! He and I both loved it. We were also charmed by the fact that the name of the gin arose from a passion both for the game and from the drink. Highly recommended.

The Maiden's Head is a relaxed establishment in Maidenhead that offers craft beer and traditional British pub food. It provides a welcoming atmosphere with outdoor seating and live music on weekends. The staff is friendly, catering to both humans and their canine companions. The menu includes tasty burgers and chips, complemented by a diverse selection of ales. The pub is well-maintained, creating an appealing ambiance for people of all ages to enjoy.
Good place, not too busy today, quick service and very polite as well by the two Ladies behind the bar. The burguer is very huge and the point of cooking for the beef burguer is perfect for me. Is a independent Pub, i think so is more warmer for The neighbors who live in the area. I live in Windsor and was just passing through, but I really enjoyed it. To the engineers, come quickly and fix the air conditioning. The nice waitresses were suffocating from the heat.

Good menu offer for a pub, we enjoyed the grilled chicken options and the local cider. Different sitting areas indoor & outdoor. Staff were nice and helpful. Seems like a good place for groups.

Very good pub food, we had The Double Daddy and the Smoky Bacon, both very tasty, good portion and the fries were delicious! The service is quick. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive! Covid friendly - tables are clean after every customer, appropriate social distance is in place. The toilets were clean with enough hand soap and toilet paper. I would highly recommend! 👌

What a lovely pub! We visited today for first time for my dad's 86th birthday and he thoroughly loved it. Great food, great atmosphere and lovely helpful staff, it feels so homely in there. We will certainly return!!

Honestly the worst way I can spend my birthday, I went to this bar on my birthday. A stranger smashed a glass and I took the responsibility to clean it up. Unlike the terrible manager who didn’t clean it up or tell someone to clean it up. It got worse. The manger barred me for cleaning. Up and going behind the bar to throw away the broken glass on the flow which could’ve hurt someone. Please get rid of him honestly he was horrible to deal with

Can't say enough good things about this pub. Great selection of beers, wonderful staff, and the grilled chicken is awesome. Our favorite Maidenhead pub. Update 9 Oct 22: the pub has just added a Sunday Roast to the menu on Sundays. I have to say, I was not a fan of this British favorite, but since I had the one at the Maidens Head, I am now a fan. I was very impressed. I'll be back next Sunday.

What I enjoy most about Off The Tap is the welcoming and relaxed staff. They create a pleasant atmosphere with their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist. The bar's menu is genuinely interesting for a pub, offering appetizing and freshly prepared dishes. Additionally, they host open mic nights, although I cannot recall the specific day. It was noteworthy to see someone in a wheelchair navigating through the crowds, which is not commonly observed.
Great place, with nice burgers and fries. We really enjoyed our food, and watched the F1! (Also dog friendly)

I visited the place for the first time in years on a Sunday night. The bar staff were more than happy to put the American football on and the service was very good. It wasn't very busy but there was a good atmosphere with other sports on. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because I didn't eat here as I didn't make the 9:30 cut off time.

Soooo happy to have discovered this place!! Chloe was so helpful navigating the menu for an amazing Notorious PIG burger on a GF bun with vegan cheese, which was phenomenal. I think this is the first GF bun I've been able to find so I was ecstatic!! She also helped find the one GF beer they had available and was extremely pleasant and accommodating!! They don't have a separate GF fryer, so the fries aren't GF and Chloe made a note to point that out to me. Like other places they have the allergy sheets which makes everything so much easier and when there was a doubt Chole didn't hesitate to go and ask. I will come here again for sure!!

Absolutely loved my visit to The Borough in Maidenhead! The place has such a stylish and welcoming vibe. I came here with friends for drinks, and it did not disappoint. The bar menu is outstanding — a fantastic selection of expertly crafted cocktails, wines, and spirits. The bartenders clearly know their craft and were more than happy to recommend drinks based on our preferences. The service was top-notch, with staff being attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It’s refreshing to visit a place where the staff makes you feel so welcomed. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it an ideal spot for a night out or even just casual drinks after work. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their cocktail menu! We had impeccable service from Jacob, Rob and Renata this month to kick off my best friends hen in style. We had a private room upstairs which was laid beautifully with table names they had organised. They enabled us to have some amazing pre dinner cocktails in the bar before heading upstairs. The food was delicious, the attention to detail and kindness with the service was amazing and we were left to our own devices too to enjoy games, laughs and silliness. It couldn't have been a better place, tremendous value too. They enabled us to have such a brilliant night. Thank you so much to the team. Would hands down recommend this as a destination in its own right, but also if you need a private dining space and service you can't beat it.

What a hidden gem in the heart of Maidenhead. It’s cool, speak easy vibe and hidden private dining rooms make this not just a romantic date night place but a lovely atmosphere to share some drinks with friends. The quality of the drinks by far was the best place in Maidenhead from the Cocktails, wine and draft beer, poured and served to perfection.

First time @ The Borough tonight and it is fair to say that it is a good addition to the neighbourhood bringing excellent seasonal produce to excite the taste buds. We opted for the tsting menu along with the wine flight leaving everything up to the chef and sommelier and we weren't disappointed. Each dish was presented beautifully and delivered a full flavour, We will certainly be back to try more.

A unique venue in Maidenhead - Small plates are delicious and beautifully presented, although portion size isn't amazing. Tasty and varied cocktails, not overly expensive for the great quality. Service is fast and staff are helpful. Only criticism would be to offer a standard water vs the divisive cucumber variant.

Heather B — Google review
Had a really disappointing and infuriating experience at O’Neill’s last night for the Women's Euros. We came in excited to watch the Women’s Euros Semi-Final, expecting a good atmosphere. Instead, we were met with rude behaviour from a male staff member and a decision that made it clear how little women's sport is valued here. Rather than playing the match with commentary on the big screen in the main bar, they put it on small screens at the front. Meanwhile, commentary in the main area was reserved for one man watching a Rangers second-round Champions League qualifier. When we questioned it, we were told it was a matter of "interest"—a deeply dismissive response given the bar was full of women there for the Euros. The staff's attitude was cold, dismissive, and inconsiderate throughout, showing no awareness of how it made us feel. It felt misogynistic and unwelcoming, as if fans of the women's game didn’t matter. Had the roles been reversed, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation—the men’s game would’ve had full sound and the big screen without question. To top it off, some men in the bar heckled and mocked us for cheering, and no one stepped in. The whole experience ruined what should have been a celebratory night. O’Neill’s, do better. This is not an inclusive space for women’s sport fans. I won’t be returning.
