The Olive Tree Bistro is a modern and relaxed cafe that offers local produce and special deals for early birds and pre-theatre goers. Located at Marine Point, it's one of the great dining options in New Brighton. The ambience is wonderful with subdued lighting and soft music, while the staff are attentive and friendly.
Such a lovely restaurant. The food and service at Olive Tree Bistro is excellent. The goujon starter and halloumi salad are really tasty. We also ordered chicken burger with home made chips and were really impressed. One member of our party had the ice cream and waffle, which again was excellent. All food is fresh and made from good quality ingredients. We booked for a table of four, with three of us having the lunchtime two course special and one of our party having one course. With a drink each, the bill came in under £90.

The Olive Tree never disappoints. Always great food and service.
Katy E — Google review
Excellent Sunday Roast at The Olive Tree. We shared the delicious roast mushroom pate (homemade) which came with sourdough toast and caramelised onion chutney. A generous portion. We had a roast beef and a roast pork. It arrived with plenty of roast potatoes, accompanied by vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The meat was beautifully cooked as were the veggies. Good choice of wines, beers and cocktails. A relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant was nearly full. People enjoying their lunches and the warm hospitality. Jane, was very friendly and attentive to all her customers, as was the waitress. I would recommend a visit to The Olive Tree to enjoy delicious food which is great value for money and wonderful service.
Mary W — Google review
Stunning food with even better service, can't praise the ladies enough for how they looked after us. Will certainly be back!
Duckduckgoose — Google review
So we arrived on Sunday afternoon. They seemed rushed although there were many empty tables, and one of the staff members suggested they were too busy for us. We asked to sit outside at the empty table. When we asked to order (from the special board) the same staff member suggested we only order the Sunday roast as she was too busy. Another younger staff member intervened and said we could have whatever we wanted. I was really impressed with the younger staff member stepping up. Unfortunately the food options are not great or healthy. Wouldn’t recommend.

What a beautiful afternoon. Jayne and Mollie were so attentive. The food was divine. The atmosphere was wonderful. I would recommend The Olive Tree 100%. Thank you 😊 xxx
Vic M — Google review
Lovely independent restaurant on the high street, we came for brunch which was really good, though I think lunch / dinner will be a notch up. Will come back another time! Great staff
Joe — Google review
Visited last night for the first time and not disappointed. Wonderful ambience helped by the subdued yet efficient lighting and soft music. Staff attentive but not annoyingly so. Helpful and friendly. We shared pork belly bites in honey (to die for), ciabatta with cheese and red onion. Then I had king prawn and chorizo linguine. Indescribably good, had to stop myself licking the plate! Then to finish had the lightest yet yummiest sticky toffee pudding. All washed down with cocktails. Definitely recommend this place. Amazing food, great staff and value for money

Nestled conveniently near Wallasey Grove Road train station, The Nelson, affectionately known as "The Nelly," is a vibrant pub that serves up hearty comfort food from lunch through dinner. With a menu featuring mouthwatering wings, ribs, steaks, and classic American dishes, there's something to satisfy every palate. The pub boasts an exciting entertainment lineup and fantastic weekly specials like grill and curry nights. Guests can also enjoy the lively atmosphere with sports on display and a pool table for some friendly competition.
The staff was attentive and the Sunday Roast was delicious. We had the beef and the turkey and both were well cooked. The atmosphere is calm on a sunday. I would definitely recommend this place!
Tamara B — Google review
Booked a table for 5.30pm, there wasn't actually a reserved table so were told to sit anywhere which was fine. Place was very quiet when we ordered our food but it took 35-40minutes for it to arrive. Food was decent, standard pub food but good nonetheless. It was a bit unpleasant people smoking right outside the open door so the smell waffed in, in future would pick a table way far away from the doors. Husband had chicken burger with katsu curry sauce on his chips, 8/10. I had the maccaroni and cheese with added chicken, was a bit suprised the chicken was just put on top and not cooked with the dish but it tasted alight 7/10.
Jocelyn W — Google review
Came in tonight and was served by Nina. She was so friendly and really attentive. Went above and beyond for us despite being run off her feet. Fantastic turn around from the place it was a year ago. Will definitely be back soon for a Sunday roast.
Christina — Google review
Super friendly atmosphere and customer service, food is lovely. The new owners Dan and Leanne have really took it up a notch. There was an issue last night with the quiz man being extremely unprofessional, screaming and shouting across the place but was handled very professionally by the owners. Had an amazing night and will definitely be returning
Shannon P — Google review
I am local to the Nelson and avoided if for almost 2 years as the service, atmosphere, food, drinks where the worst in Wallasey. We arrived today October 2025 and its changed so much. Service was amazing. So good with the kids. Food was cooked amazingly The atmosphere was a mix of family friendly and spots. The drinks are still mid but am assuming that's because green king choose the ale aka cheap crap they can sell at high margins. 100% coming for Sunday dinner. Well done to the new manging staff you have transformed this pub.
Chris P — Google review
Always been to the quiz over the past two years been absolutely brilliant until the new landlords came in the landlady would make every effort but the landlord needs to think how he behaves while shouting across from the till to paying customers. And also no one touched the blow up zombie it got turned off at the wall. Also check any food you buy as we ended up having raw chicken wings
Ghost — Google review
Extremely unprofessional landlord. Have gone here for a number of weeks for the weekly quiz, unfortunately since the new landlords took over the this hasn't gone to plan. Initially all was fine, with the female landlady being kind and accomodating, however the other manager seemed to have the idea that having 40+ consistent patrons who're each buying multiple drinks/ meals is unprofitable. This has culminated in an extremely childish outburst from the landlord resulting in the quiz being called off. Needless to say we won't be returning.
Sleeping G — Google review
Lovely place with character and really clean. Excellent beers and bar service. Food has gone down hill a bit. Low point was a crumble tart that appeared to have been microwaved from frozen and had bendy soft pastry and mushy crumble, though it tasted ok. Food service was slow, given the very small number of diners. I hope the place picks back up as it was a favourite.

Indian restaurant
Magic Spices Indian Restaurant & Takeaway is a modern and stylish curry house that offers a mix of classic and contemporary Indian dishes. In addition to its dine-in option, it also provides buffet and takeaway choices. Customers have praised the exquisite meals and excellent service, making it a must-visit dining destination in Wallasey. Whether you're looking for traditional favorites or modern creations, Magic Spices has something for every palate.
Magic Spices is the best Indian me and my partner have ever been too. We get such a warm welcome every time we enter from all the friendly staff, they are always amazing and very patient (especially as I'm so picky and swap and change my mind all the time). The food is always delicious, never had a bad meal here and we love that they can provide takeaways tubs to take what we don't finish home. Which happens every single time because the portions are huge haha. Well worth the money and such great prices. We always sit in the same booth as it's our favourite spot and they are always accommodating to this. We come once a year for our anniversary and they always make our experience so special. We live an hour away but it's 100% worth the travel. We're hoping to do more visits throughout the year with family too. I also want to mention the fact that the selection of food is amazing, something for everyone, and we noticed that there was a huge selection for Gluten Free foods, which is incredible. We have a few people in our family who are allergic to gluten and it's very difficult to find somewhere that caters for their needs, and if they do, there is hardly anything on the menu for them. Here there was loads of gluten free options, so I was really pleased to see that. Thank you to all at Magic Spices for making our experience so special every time. If we don't see you again this year, we'll definitely see you again for our anniversary next year (will be our 6 year together and our 6th anniversary spent here, we love it).
Teesha D — Google review
The food wasn’t that good. We ordered Butter chicken and it was like there is a taste of cheese on it, I really didn’t like it. The biryani was good but not great. The tandoori was really good! Just for the owner: please if you can put yogurt with cucumbers on the side with the Biryanis like all the Indian restaurants do that would be great! Will I come back? Nah.
GrillMaster — Google review
First time here, very polite staff, very welcoming, We ordered a tandoori platter to share, 4 poppadoms and chutney tray, didn't disappoint, 1 Naan, chips, lamb rogan and Shatkora Ghusth as our mains, with pilau rice, really lovely and will definitely return
John F — Google review
Top notch restaurant! Absolutely amazing food there, well presented, served hot and sometimes cooked at table. Place itself is well decorated and appointed. Nice lighting and vibe. Lots of seating, from 2 seat tables to full large booths and tables. Food was exceptional! Was really impressed. Had the popadum starter with a huge variety of chutneys and sauces. The slightly hot and sweet chilli was best but mango was good too. My partner had the chicken masala which was tasty and my lamb bhuna was very tasty indeed! Partner had a salmon starter and i had a kofta, these were serves sizzling in a hot dish and the flavour was first class. Will definitely be going again! Reasonable prices too, especially wed and thurs as i think is two for one. Bargain! Really good service too but beware, no desserts, was hoping for a pallette cleansing kulfi, lol.
Neil S — Google review
We’ve had a few nice meals here The restaurant is very clean and well presented Staff are very friendly and welcoming The menu has plenty to offer an I’m sure there is something for every taste Popadom and pickles are standard Mixed kebab starter was a lil small an nothing special As for the main plenty to choose from but nothing exceptional but I am from Yorkshire so I am a little privileged to have tried some of the best The rice is just standard Nan bread was very small and definitely not big enough for 2 people to share All in all a very nice meal an pleasant dining experience and I would go there again Slightly above average an worthy of a 3.4 The only thing it looses the higher marks is value for money
Marc J — Google review
Delicious Indian meal enjoyed at Magic Spices earlier this week. Really friendly staff and a lovely relaxed dining experience. The menu was extensive offering a good mix of meat, fish, and vegetable based dishes. Finishing the main dish off at the table was a nice touch and added to the overall dining experience. The food was well prepared and tasted great, everyone enjoyed what they'd ordered. I hadn't been for a good while, and I'm so glad I did. Great little restaurant that's well worth a visit.
Nicola W — Google review
This has become our go-to Indian. Excellent service and top notch food. Wonderful mix of flavours, catering for those who prefer less spicy flavours to those who enjoy their dishes 'hot'. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive servers, we really can't recommend Magic Spices more highly...

Nestled in the vibrant heart of New Brighton, The Bow-legged Beagle Upton Village is a charming micro pub that has quickly become a local favorite. The welcoming atmosphere is complemented by friendly staff who are always ready to assist, making it an ideal place for socializing with friends or enjoying a quiet drink.
What a lovely place! I was in during a quiet period whilst staying in the area so was able to sit at the bar chatting to Peter and the few customers that were in there. Everyone was so lovely and the place had a lovely ambience where you can tell people come first (and their dogs coz its dog-friendly!) I tried the chocolate brownie stout and it was as good as it sounded... delicious but went straight to my head, happy juice indeed 😁

The Bow Legged Beagle Upton: A Truly Cracking Spot for a Pint Proper little gem, this place! The Bow Legged Beagle in Upton is just the ticket if you're after somewhere genuinely cosy with a cracking atmosphere. It's got that lovely, welcoming feel as soon as you walk in, making it super easy to relax and settle in. For us real ale fans, it's a bit of a paradise. They've always got a constantly changing line-up of real ales on, which is brilliant because there's always something new to try. And the best part? The real ale is always really reasonably priced, which is a breath of fresh air these days! And if craft beer is more your thing, you're still well looked after. They've got an extensive collection on tap, plus a fridge packed with cans and bottles. Whatever you fancy, chances are they've got it. Service here is spot on too. The staff are genuinely friendly and really know their stuff when it comes to the beers they're serving. Happy to chat and give recommendations if you're not sure what to go for. Honestly, if you're in Upton and fancy a top-notch pint in a relaxed and friendly setting, you really can't go wrong with The Bow Legged Beagle. Highly recommend!
Roger H — Google review
I really like this place. It's a simple, no frills watering hole. Real ales and bitters that are regularly changed to provide variety. They know their stuff and clearly take pride in what they do.

Prolific seller of cask, craft and cans - well worthy of its entry in the Good Beer Guide. One mile from the 🚂station or the local 437 🚌runs a 10 minute daytime service to Birkenhead (every 20 minutes after 6:00pm)
Mark N — Google review
Great micropub in Upton village. Four rotating cask lines and 8 keg lines, 7 rotating, means a great selection of beers, some local, whenever you visit. Owners and staff are friendly and chatty.

Beer list as far as the eye can see, huge choice constantly changing. Nice atmosphere, background music but not too loud.. plus plenty of other drinks if beer not your tipple, wines and gins. Nice little place to drop in at Upton to compliment the other branch in Wallasey.

The venue provides an ideal setting for dining outside with views of the dock, and it's perfect for those looking for quick lunch options with its 15 Minute Promise dishes. Additionally, Revolution Bar hosts a bottomless brunch every Saturday and Sunday, offering various delicious options to choose from.
Bought the afternoon tea voucher on Wowcher. It was £29 for an afternoon tea set for 2 with two cocktails as well. I absolutely love this afternoon tea because it is different. Not a huge fan of traditional British afternoon tea as they are mainly sandwiches, scones and cakes only, too sweet for me. Prefer more savoury food items like this one. Beef sliders, onion rings, cheesy tots, chicken tenders are perfect finger food, great for kids and adults and everyone. Staff is attentive, met my dietary requirements of no chocolate. Drinks are delicious as well and of great variety! Will definitely come back. Highly recommend here if you are near the docks in Liverpool!

Tonight we were served by Dionne, she was brilliant. We had two allergies on our table and she dealt with them easily and made us feel very at ease when ordering. She was extremely attentive checking if everything was okay and if we needed more drinks. Brilliant service and a brilliant atmosphere. 10/10

Been here a few times, good selection of drinks and good atmosphere. The service however, is quite horrific. My partner and I sat at a table and decided to order to the table via the app. 15 minutes pass before we questioned where our drinks where, to which we was told they would be another 10 minutes. We waited overall 30 minutes for drinks. We planned to stay here the rest of the night but with service so slow and staff so inattentive decided against it.

Went for a bottomless brunch on friday evening, and was served my Georgia who was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Before we even finished the drink we had, she would come over asking if we wanted another one. Which I love as other places I’ve been to for a BB don’t bother coming over often. The food was great and the atmosphere was great too. I will definitely come back

Really lovely place decorated beautifully inside and out. Very busy and booking is a must. We came around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was all go! We ordered mains and desserts. Both were delicious although deseserts did take a while… but was worth the wait! Highly recommend the orange juice. It’s amazing!

Another winner for me! Staff were friendly and greeted you from the door. DOG FRIENDLY establishment, which is a bonus! Staff were very accommodating, and a lovely lady recommended me dog food option, so bought a breast of plain chicken breast for £4, and added some extra bits for him. Food was great. Price is what you would get in a city centre, roughly £16 for my pasta dish.
Refik — Google review
First time visiting The Quarter. I knew it as Bill and June's newsagent MANY years ago! Food was excellent (I chose steak if the day, with pepper sauce) and my partner chose the Spanish chicken. Both were delicious as was the hallumi starter. We rushed off to the Everyman but performance was cancelled so we came back for a wonderful dessert - apple pie and salted caramel chocolate brownie. Highly recommend the venue, staff and especially the food.

Visited for a family pre wedding meal. Seated in a lovely booth. Kids menu is fantastic, they loved it and its great value for money. Normal menu the goats cheese pizza was amazing!! The dessert display case is wonderful and we loved the variety and prices. Desserts were so reasonably priced and all looked delicious. The pistachio tiramisu should definitely be tried! Service was slow, but that didnt stop us enjoying it and food was divine.

Great food, great service great place. Would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. Especially if you are going to the Liverpool Philharmonic. If you are on a timescale, the staff are extremely flexible and everything is served very very quickly. Nothing has ever too much trouble. Would recommend this no question.

I was here for my anniversary dinner with my lovely wife! 25 years is a long time so I wanted the evening to be amazing! The staff were amazing apart from a tiny mistake with still and sparkling water. The food was amazing and the atmosphere made us not want to head to out suite for our after party! All in all fabulous!

Came here on a busy Saturday evening with 3 teenagers. We didn’t have a reservation but were offered an outside table which suited us perfectly as it was a lovely day for September! Beautiful decor and clearly very popular, we were given a very warm welcome with a smile and staff were attentive throughout. The menu is varied, offering a range of superb Italian fare plus around 5 specials of the day. We opted for pizza plus pan fried cod in a magnificent lobster bisque, served with samphire potatoes. Beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Deserts too are top tier with a regular menu plus specials. If you go inside, you can see the deserts available and they taste as good as they look! If we lived closer, we would visit here often. A great find and highly recommended. A special shout-out to Fabio who attended to us with first class service throughout!

Additionally, they offer Buffalo Chicken Tenders for those who enjoy a spicy kick.
We went for a cocktail making experience. Drinks were already served and on the table waiting for us when we got there. Making our own was definitely an experience but very fun and then having two more cocktails on top plug food was definitely worth the money.

We popped in, via walk in, for dinner and had a lovely meal. Our server Katy was super attentive and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our starters were corn dogs and boneless chicken wings, which were tasty and freshly cooked. The mains of glazed smash burger and sesame chicken strips were also excellent. There’s a good range of bottled beers, but they only had one beer, a pilsner, on via draft. The only downside to the visit was the menus. They are filthy, and are caked in old food and drink. You have to wash your hands again after ordering, they are that dirty.
Christopher L — Google review
Had a quick bite, loaded nachos were very tasty, would have preferred a bit more crunch and maple glaze on the on the corn ribs. Friendly staff. Not many there when we visited so not much atmosphere, but that goes without saying at the time

The good was really good with large portions. A little bit expensive. Vegan options were a bit sparse and they had run out of vegan ice cream

Great food and service as usual. I love that TGIF don't charge you for soda water like some other places (Zizzi for example). Sadly the loaded potato skins were out of stock, but they have Chicken Finger BLT back on the menu! Woo! Always my favourite dinner choice at TGIF. Great mocktail choices as usual, though my favourite is off the menu atm. Always happy to visit at this branch when I'm in Liverpool.

Overall had a great time at tgis for a bottomless brunch wasn’t completely happy to be honest when we were seated the seats had food on them that had not been cleared and I noticed it on other tables aswell. We could see the bar from where we were sat and could see are drinks were made but then sat on the bar for 15 minutes before being given to us. On the bottomless brunch you get 3 plates between too and we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for wings we ordered and they were really burnt when they arrived. I would probably do another bottomless brunch at tgis but would probably go to a different location. Had a cocktail outside afterwards as we didn’t upgrade the bottomless brunch.

OH MY DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN THE FOOD. As a starter, my family tried the mozzarella sticks, and we could all agree that they were the best we've ever had. And the main meals were incredible. I enjoyed my chicken burger, my brothers enjoyed their dream pasta and fabulous burger, my dad loved his beef sandwich, and my mum claimed her burger was the best she's ever had. This an absolutely brilliant establishment. FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dylan B — Google review
Server Lydia was absolutely amazing, when looking around the restaurant she seemed to be the only one working and was visibly overworked as we passed x3 service team standing on the stairs talking on different occasions. I booked a table for 4 adults and 1 child yet was told they had booked me as 5 adults and weren’t sure if they could accommodate with a high chair for the child despite accepting the booking. Waited 45 minutes for desserts. The place we were seated was beside the screen the staff use for orders etc, when engaging in any conversation with the other parties, a black haired member of staff would stare us down whenever she was around. I am not the type to usually complain, however it was just a bad atmosphere to be in and to see only one server running around doing her absolute best for everyone’s tables does seem unfair.

The Lightbulb Moment, a gin and Pimms-based cocktail, arrives in its own lab flask with billowing smoke. The venue offers an extensive food menu to complement the drinks, including indulgent festive favorites like Hazelnut Espresso Martini and White Forest Gateau.
Amazing service and a lovely atmosphere. Staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. The cocktails, of course, are amazing and well presented. The food too was really good. Large variety of options for us vegetarians too!

I recently had a fantastic meal that really hit the spot! The food was exceptional, with everything from the spicy chicken to the truffle gravy standing out for their flavour and presentation. Our server was incredibly friendly and made sure we felt looked after throughout our visit. The atmosphere was nice, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy good company, though the drinks could use a little improvement. Overall, I left feeling satisfied and can't wait to come back for more!

Popped in for a quick dinner and the atmosphere and food was great. We had lollipop prawns and squid to start which were both perfectly cooked and then tempura fish and the chicken basket for mains. Everything was great and very good value for money. Out waitress Kate was also perfectly attentive and friendly. Will definitely pop back next time I am in the area.

Pub

Family restaurant
The Railway Inn is a Liverpool pub with an immense atmosphere that's perfect for watching the footy. From delicious food to high-quality drinks, this spot has something for everyone - making it one of the most popular pubs in town. And if you're looking to add some Viking authenticity to your festivities, they also have a ship buried underneath their property!
We are visiting from down south, and this, one of the oldest pubs in Liverpool, totally exceeded our expectations. The staff are friendly and focused on getting the experience right. Rosein recommended food based on our preferences and even made me try some of their nice range of wines. The price is spot on, and the food is absolutely brilliant. The kitchen staff have diverse knowledge of ingredient pairing, and both the fish and chips and the calamari we tried were a hit. We were so torn between doing a repeat order of these two, and the calamari won the bet. Such fresh produce and nicely woven flavours were the highlight, closely followed by the unassuming service. We are already so looking forward to coming back!
Emily R — Google review
The Railway didn't live up to the great reviews for us, but we probably visited at the wrong time. Value for money was excellent; I couldn't fault the prices, but by dinner time on a Monday, they'd run out of a lot of the menu, which was fine. Went for my third choice which was salt and pepper chips, and it was just okay. It didn't really have a whole lot of flavour without being drowned in the sweet chilli sauce. Service was fine; it was really quick, but not particularly warm or hospitable. The staff seemed like they didn't really want to be there, to be honest. I understand Mondays might be slow, but we felt quite let down by this place after reading such good reviews. I wouldn't go here again outside of a weekend.

A really lovely Victorian pub just in the city centre. The food was excellent and complimented by friendly and welcoming staff. It's definitely worth a visit if you like a proper old pub with great food and service. Would be more than happy to return.
Paul D — Google review
Visited at lunch time on a Monday, so I would say it was relatively quiet, so we could absorb more of this typical Victorian pub, with different rooms and a beautiful old pub feel to the place. The food was nice but the Moo & Blue Pie was AMAZING! Would return for that only. Loved it.

Paulicarus spotted this Cask Marque pub after a failed visit to the Crown Hotel. ( not one of 7 hand pumps had real ale!). A super find. Shaslic bought me a pint of Bradfield blond. One of 3 real ales available. Lovely interior with nooks and crannues and a lovely ceiling. Food looked good. They do Sunday roasts.

Delifonseca Dockside is a hidden gem in Liverpool, offering a unique dining experience with an ever-changing blackboard menu. It's known for its innovative global snacking menu that reflects the city's cosmopolitan vibe. The food hall stocks a variety of gluten-free products, catering to those with dietary restrictions. This gourmet one-stop-shop also features a seasonal restaurant where you can enjoy delicious fish, chicken, and beef dishes.
We visited Delifonseca on Valentine’s Day, and it was a true gastronomic delight! We were impressed by the unique combination of ingredients and their creative presentation – every dish surprised us with its flavors and textures. The duck was simply divine: tender, juicy, and not chewy at all, while the salmon literally melted in our mouths. But my absolute favorite dish was the clams with chorizo – an incredible flavor combination! And then came the dessert, which turned out to be such a generous portion that, for the first time in my life, it felt like too much. It was meant for two, but we could barely finish it! The prices are mid-range, but every penny is absolutely worth it. The service, ambiance, and quality of the food were outstanding. We’ll definitely be coming back!🤩👍🏻🤤

Had a lovely meal today. I had fish and chips (gourmet chippy style) and Mrs had the Welsh Rarebit with Sticky Toffee pud afterward. Always excellent food and service at Delifonseca. Lovely staff who always make a fuss of our dog…🦮

£16.50 for a sandwich an a few chips. Waited 40 mins and order was wrong and what was delivered was lukewarm. Used to be good here but it’s gone off. Nowhere near enough staff on duty

I have to say I’ve had a lovely experience today, I give a 3 star review before because a member of staff was really rude, had no customer service skills and threw our food down without any acknowledgment of our gratitude and the rudeness to my gran was a bit of a limit for me, BUT I went today with my husband and gran and I have to say the food was 10/10, staff were so lovely and polite and it was a great experience! No sight of the rude waitress so that was a bonus, the head waiter/floor manager was lovely and the 2 young waiters that were serving were brilliant! I’ve been coming here for about 5 years and service is usually great but this one waitress (lady with curly hair from what I can recall) was consistently rude for a couple of visits but I’m glad I give the place a go again.

Thank you Delifonseca. First time here and I can say this is a very welcoming place, with great friendly staff, even though we were over 45 minutes late. We booked a table for 15 people, the food was absolutely amazing and the service was first class. This is a fantastic restaurant, we had no complaints whatsoever and would definitely recommend everyone to try here if you have not already. Thank you to all the staff for your service and your kindness. Regards Ste

Could be so much better. It's disappointing that the fruit, veg and eggs are not organic. Looks like the type of shop where you'd expect to find those things. Glass bottled water and accepting cash payments would also be a big improvement. Keep poisoned food off the shelves and keep cash alive.

The restaurant boasts an unrivaled waterfront location with indoor and outdoor dining options that provide breathtaking views across the River Mersey. Guests can enjoy a friendly and relaxing atmosphere at the bar and cocktail lounge while savoring exquisite seafood such as lobster and buttery prawns, along with steaks and salads.
We came back here again after we went there last four days. Excellent service with super delicious foods. Munk fish with creamy white wine sauce is the best. Surf and turf will never let you down. The meat was so tender and testy. This place very much recommended.
Chalit P — Google review
I took my girlfriend for a birthday dinner to this restaurant. I choose this restaurant because of great reviews. We were both looking forward to this dinner and it was meant to be a special treat. It started out ok, but when we have asked to recommend us a wine the waitress seemed to not know much about wine and couldn’t recommend us anything. The starters were very nice and we have enjoyed them. Then, when it came to the main event, we have waited for our meal for about an hour after we have finished eating starters. The waiters didn’t come to our table to explain why it took so long or to apologize. We were watching people that came in after us, eating their starters and mains, and leaving before our main arrived. When they finally brought the main to our table, it came without two sides. We immediately asked about it, and we were assured that it is on its way. Yet, we weren’t brought any sides. We needed to ask a different waitress about it for the second time and then she brought one of the sides. We had to ask again for the second side (this side was not ordered separately, but it comes as the part of the dish - it was skinny fries that comes with the lobster). The skinny fries were a disappointment - not only that we had to ask about it three times, but also, it was a mix of chips and burnt skinny fries. They obviously forgot about this side and gave us the scraps. The size of the lobster was underwhelming for the price, which was £60. Also, the amount of monkfish was smaller than expected for a ~£30 meal. The deserts were delicious. My girlfriend had baklava cheesecake and she described it as one of the best desserts she has ever had. I had pistachio tiramisu and it was really good too. For the amount of the money that we have spent, we would have liked the better service. Just to be clear, the staff were all very polite and nice. Maybe the issues were caused by lack of training or bad communication with the kitchen. Even though we have enjoyed the food, we would not come back again. The audacity to add a 10% service charge to the bill after all of the above!
Ognjen J — Google review
We had a fabulous evening at Cargo. The staff were absolutely lovely and the food was delicious! Well worth the money. So glad we chose this restaurant. We could hear a very rude, entitled man talking to the staff very badly. It was his birthday and we had no idea what his issue was. It just seemed like he wanted to complain about anything. His wife seemed very embarrassed by him and it transpired that they had visited the restaurant many times. The staff were so polite and managed the man very well. Bravo!!

Beautifully lit and spacious restaurant in a good location. 🥰 Comfortable seating and very warm and inviting staff. The food was amazing and had large portions that we all regret ordering starters when we saw how big the mains were. Very classy modern looking and perfect for dates. I went with the girls and we loved it as it was quiet and so relaxed. Definitely recommend and will be coming back. I could see my friends coming here because we all love seafood 😊

(Short version: I would give this place 1000 stars out of 10 if I could. The service was perfect, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. A huge thank you to the staff and the chef for a wonderful and memorable lunch!) If I could, this place would get 1000 stars out of 10. Visited for a friends birthday lunch and the service was perfect from the second we walked through the door. The staff need recognition as they looked young but we're very knowledgeable of the menu and how to give great customer service. Starting with drinks, cocktails were perfect, water for the table was provided and we were given a great table, not too much in the sun but near the window to look out over the river. Starters were plated beautifully and cooked perfectly. Even though I had prawns in both my starter and main the different sauces in both dishes made them feel different (in a good way) Sea food in all the dishes tasted delicious and great quality. To top off the service, the chef came out to speak to us, had us laughing and joking and honestly it was so wonderful to see someone with a genuine passion for the business and his heart really goes into each dish. I was so shocked when the bill came as I thought it would be doubt the price but it was extremely reasonable given all the food and drinks we had. I would highly HIGHLY recommend this place. Thank you again to the team for a wonderful lunch and a very memorable day.

A decent enough Prawn and Crab cocktail to start. Seabass for main. Decent enough but leave the fish whole. The fries were definitely frozen. Don't set yourself up as a high end restaurant and then not serve proper fries. I had high hopes for Cargo but I won't be back.

We had a wonderful meal at Free State Kitchen with family, sharing several dishes to try a bit of everything—and it did not disappoint! The chicken wings were a definite favorite, packed with flavor. We also really enjoyed the hearty vegetable chowder, chili fries, nachos, and Caesar salad—everything was fresh, tasty, and perfect for sharing. The atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming, but the real highlight was the beautiful garden—such a lovely spot to relax and enjoy good food with loved ones. I've been meaning to try here for a while 👍 Called in one Saturday afternoon, was able to get a nice seat at a Bench Table in the Garden area 🙂 The Garden area is really spacious and has lots of flowers and shrubbery making it a really chilled place 😎 Service is really quick and friendly 👍 Food was great 👍 the Burgers are delicious, and so are their Onion Rings which are 'proper' Onion Rings (real slices of Onion in gorgeous Batter) 🤩. They also serve Draught Guinness 🙂 Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality. A great place to eat, go visit, you won't be disappointed 👍

We visited Liverpool for a day trip from Manchester, and for dinner we booked a table at Free State Kitchen — and we’re so glad we did! One of the reasons we chose this place was the wide range of gluten-free options, as one of us has coeliac disease. From start to finish, we were more than happy with everything we ordered. In the photo, you’ll see two Double Deluxe Burgers served with rosemary salted fries, and a side of onion rings. The burgers come with 10oz of beef, which we absolutely loved — super satisfying and generous with the meat-to-bun ratio, so you leave full without feeling like you’ve eaten mostly bread. The gluten-free burger got a special shoutout from my mum who has coeliac — the bun was one of the fluffiest gluten-free burger buns we’ve ever seen or tasted. We also tried the gluten-free Free State Dog, which was phenomenal. I’m already planning to come back, and when I do, I’m definitely ordering the hot dog again. The onion rings were so good that I honestly wished they came in a gluten-free version too — everyone should get to taste that. To finish off, the three of us shared the Choc Peanut Butter Sundae. Trust me when I say the portion is huge — perfect for sharing after a big meal to avoid food waste. The flavour? Absolutely amazing. The peanut butter was used just right — not overpowering at all — and paired beautifully with the chocolate. The service was just as great as the food: warm, friendly, and genuinely kind. Thank you, Free State Kitchen — I’m definitely coming back soon!

Free State Kitchen is a real gem! The burgers are top-notch — juicy, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked — and the chicken wings are just as impressive. I also love that they cater well for vegan diners, so there’s something for everyone. Great value for money, and the friendly, attentive staff make the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

We came for tea last night luckily we managed to get a table with it being so close to Christmas. Feeling a little peckish we opted for the beef and bacon burger with an extra patty which came out piping hot and very well presented we then ordered pudding which consisted of sticky toffee pudding with custard and apple and blackberry crumble with custard which has to be the best pub pud I've ever had staff are very pleasant and friendly especially the girl with blonde hair and the red dress who seemed rushed off her feet the pub does have a strictly over 18's policy so no children are allowed

I usually love going here for a meal but since the old manager and staff left it seems to have gone down. There used to be a lovely, cosy atmosphere which was missing. The staff were just doing their job without any feeling from me of caring for the customers. The food was okay but not like it used to be. Sad because this was such a lovely place to come.

*Heads up children are not allowed at this pub* Lots potential but was let down by the food. Lovely pub the food was only ok. Staff were friendly but once the pub got busy it seemed they were short staffed. We had fish and chips and the salt beef burger. The fish was a little greasy, bread was a bit stale and the burger was only ok. Overall experience was average but we won't be heading back anytime soon. Good selection of cask and draft ales though

This cosy bar and restaurant serves delicious Sunday lunches in Liverpool. Every dish is bursting with flavour, including succulent chicken breasts with apricot and sage stuffing, pork belly with homemade apple and maple sauce, 12-hour slow roasted beef brisket, salmon fillet with a crab and herb crust, or mushroom and spinach nut roast.
🤩 wow what can I say . Held our beautiful Wedding yesterday at Fred’s. Adam and his amazing team were fantastic from helping us plan and to make sure our day was perfect 👌 which it was . We had an amazing band , walk around magician, fabulous food and the atmosphere was brilliant. Thank you so much guys for the personal touch and for making it be the most unforgettable day ☺️

I booked the Pillbox for my 50th birthday celebration. It was a fabulous venue. Really good size and set up and having a separate well stocked bar was great. The staff were brilliant on the night and the food came out on time and was delicious. The sound system is very versatile, we used it to play our own playlist through a device. Overall would highly recommend for an event.

My first proper experience of a jazz bar and this was great. Lots of seating available with a good range of drinks on offer too. The band on Friday evening was particularly good and I look forward to visiting here again the next time I'm in Liverpool.

Fredricks offered a delightful nut roast dinner that truly impressed. The nut roast was perfectly cooked, with a rich, savory flavor and a satisfying, hearty texture. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, complementing the main dish beautifully. The gravy was rich and flavorful, adding an extra layer of comfort to the meal. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying and filling experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Fredricks provided a delicious, wholesome meal that I'd highly recommend to anyone craving a comforting and flavorful roast dinner.

We had our wedding reception at Frederiks and honestly, it was the best decision we made. It suited us perfectly – relaxed and not too fussy. The space looked beautiful with all the fairy lights, and She's Electric Events came in to add a few extra touches which made it feel even more special. In the run-up, both Adam and Nina were amazing. Adam was fantastic at explaining how the evening would run, giving us different seating options and really listening to what we wanted. I’d said I wanted everyone to be able to sit down for part of the evening but also have space for dancing later. He suggested a mix of trestle tables and couches at the back, which worked so well. Nina was also brilliant – always quick to reply to emails and happy to have a phone call to talk things through, which really put me at ease. The food was another big highlight. We had loads of great menu options to choose from, and on the day it was absolutely perfect – exactly the kind of food we love. Every single guest, from the oldest at 85 to the youngest at 11, loved it. Not a single complaint, and people couldn’t believe how much food there was! I didn’t get any photos of the food because I was too busy enjoying it – which says everything really. Later on, they brought out bowls of chips for the evening guests which went down a treat. We played our own music through our phones and Frederiks had an adaptor ready so we could easily switch between them – really handy and took the stress out of it. The bar staff were amazing, friendly, quick and totally on it all night. There was never a queue, which everyone commented on. The manager that evening was fantastic too. Partway through, I mentioned we were ready to open up the dancefloor a bit more, and without any fuss, he and the bar staff moved some of the tables while I stayed with our guests – which I really appreciated. The whole evening had such a chilled and welcoming feel. Everything ran smoothly, everyone felt comfortable, and we didn’t have a single thing to worry about. When we went back later in the week to collect a few bits we’d forgotten, they’d kept everything safe for us which was just another lovely touch. I’d recommend Frederiks to anyone planning a wedding reception or party. It felt so “us” and we honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

We had our wedding reception at Frederik’s yesterday and it was truly the best day of our lives! The team couldn’t have done more for us; the day flowed perfectly, the food was beautiful and the team were so attentive and friendly! All our guests have commented on what a lovely venue it was and how helpful Adam and his team were. We just want to say a massive thank you for making the most important day of our lives so perfect and making us feel special ❤️ P.S we didn’t get any photos of the food because it was too nice to wait for! There were options for all the guests and everyone was catered for regardless of preference or allergies

Fab vibe, great drinks choice from craft ales to cocktails. The bar staff welcomed you in and made everyone who stumbled in from heavy rain, feel like they were at home chilling with funky music. Will defo go back every time we visit Liverpool. We’d come back to stay, just so we could drink here again. Also great venue for a private party.

We had our wedding party here and honestly I can’t put into enough words how great the staff and team were to us! The food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere, everything was amazing. Nothing was too big or small for the staff. My guests absolutely loved the venue and the service. I wouldn’t change a thing and can’t recommend it enough to people looking for a private hire room!

OH ME OH MY is a charming afternoon tea venue located in a former bank building on Water Street, Liverpool. The space exudes shabby chic charm and features polished wooden floors and pendant lights, creating an airy and relaxed atmosphere. This hidden gem offers a delightful classic afternoon tea experience with a selection of savory sandwiches like lemon and thyme roast chicken, ham hock and cheddar croque, as well as sweet treats including honey and blueberry cake.
One of the best afternoon tea experiences that I have had. The music, the vibe, the decor and the food…all spot on! I booked this place for Mother’s Day and both my mother and I had a fabulous time. Highly recommended and the staff are just the best too. Great service and sense of humour.

Absolutely Perfect – Thank You Oh Me Oh My! We had our wedding at Oh Me Oh My and cannot thank Rinah, Lizzie and Jack and the rest of the team enough for making our day so special. From the very beginning, they helped plan and organise every detail, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. Communication was brilliant. They truly brought our vision to life – everything looked stunning, and the day ran seamlessly thanks to their expertise, even with a large number of guests. The food and drinks were amazing (we had so many compliments from our guests!), and the rooftop bar was a total highlight – a breathtaking spot that really added something special to the day. Everyone had the best time, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We would recommend Oh Me Oh My to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run venue with a fantastic team behind it. Thank you so much for everything – you made our wedding day unforgettable. Love, Kate and James! Xx

Had a lovely afternoon tea at OhMeOhMy. I felt truly spoilt by the selection they gave us, the food was all stunning, I was well and truly stuffed. The tea selection is gorgeous and I encourage you to treat yourself to a pot to take home. Jason who looked after us was such a great character, full of life and energy, a real asset to the team. Would 100% recommend visiting here, if not, go up to the rooftop bar for a drink and glimpse over one of the best views in Liverpool.

We had our wedding reception at OH ME OH MY, and the day could not have been more perfect. From Day 1, Rinah and the team couldn't do enough for us. Happy to answer every single daft question with a cheerful message. The food tasting was extremly generous and the team were happy to adjust the food to the tastes of our guests. We can't even begin to say how great the cocktails were :). The venue was stunning and matched our aesthetic perfectly and all of our guests raved about the venue. The service from Rinah and Aaron on the day was fantastic once again being incredibly patient with our requests, and our guests loved the food. Thank you for making our big day extra special! We would definitely recommend OH ME OH MY as a venue for a wedding (or indeed any big event). Dan and Lyndsey

We had our wedding there a month ago. What a fabulous venue and an amazing day! Rinah and her team were fantastic. She guided us calmly through the planning process in the months leading up to the big day and was so helpful. . The venue is incredibly beautiful, with the spiral staircase, fairy lights ceiling and the stunning roof terrace views. So many of our guests commented on the service from the waiting and bar staff - a great vibe. I can't recommend Oh Me Oh My strongly enough. We had the very best day, helped along by musician Ogo Nzeador, and our wedding photographer, Ali from Ameer Photography. We have so many wonderful memories. Thank you.

Beautiful setting with stunning views, perfect for afternoon tea. The food was fresh and delicious with a lovely variety of sandwiches, cakes and scones. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt really special without being overly formal. A perfect spot in Liverpool for a treat or special occasion! Plus all the different types of teas you can choose from make it so much more worth it!

It's hard for me to put into words how important OH ME OH MY has been to me as a Liverpool wedding photographer who specialises in city wedding photography. If it wasn't for the amazing organisers at OH ME OH MY back in 2014, adding me to their referral list and inviting me to exhibit at their open days, I I don't think I would have booked out my first year of wedding photography. And every year after that I have been back to OH ME OH MY multiple times. I was even the first photographer to shoot couple portraits on the roof terrace before it was even renovated, which felt like such a huge honour! I love the big windows that overlook the Three Graces, the endless choice of locations to take photos of my couples in the streets surrounding the venue, and the amazing food that is served there, but it's the staff who work there that make the biggest difference for me as a wedding supplier. I've always had all of my needs met, whether it's the staff fiddling with the venue lighting to get it "just right" in the evening, to greeting me warmly when I arrive and helping me store my equipment safely, to never forgetting to feed me when I'm hidden away on the mezzanine during the wedding breakfast (oh and always getting a free much needed coffee when I'm flagging). Weddings can be long and tiring days for a photographer, so all of these things make such a big difference to how I do my job. I always always ALWAYS look forward to shooting at OH ME OH MY.

Tucked away in a side street, this restaurant is a little hidden gem. They have a ton of wines to choose from as the name suggests, and the servers are more than happy to help you pick. The real star for us was the food, the steak frites were done perfectly with amazing peppercorn sauce. They also do a delicious Scouse! I’d definitely recommend this place for a nice and quiet evening out.

I've walked by this gorgeous wine bar before and always wanted to try it out, and yesterday was my chance! Whilst waiting to collect my French passport upstairs, I entered this stunning space and cozy atmosphere, and made my way to the bar. I ordered a large Malbec and noticed signs for bar nibbles - I asked the bartender (owner?) for some olives and he mentioned a full menu. Now I am allergic to so much, so didn't really have any high hopes - and the first app he suggested was a gluten-free, vegan courgette baji... PERFECTION! I was so happy to relax and sit by the window watching the world go by. This is definitely one of those Liverpool hidden gems that makes life here so wonderful.

Fabulous experience. What a find though first table. Food was excellent. We shared courgette bhagis in a mago chutney sauce- out of this world. We both ordered the steak frites; a 6oz rump steak with garlic fries and peppercorn sauce. We shared the Eton Mess to finish. Food was exceptional. My wife is coeliac and she was delighted with the options available. Service was also excellent. We both said the best meal we have had in a very long time. Superb value for money!

FACT Liverpool, located in the Ropewalks quarter of Liverpool, has been a cultural hub since 2003. It features a 4-screen cinema showcasing mainstream and art house films, along with three media art galleries and an airy bar. The venue is known for its futuristic-looking space spread across three floors, including galleries, cinema screens, a cafe and a bar. FACT is celebrated for hosting pioneering work from renowned artists and filmmakers.
Wonderful atmosphere and exhibitions on display in here. My friends ended up having a wonderful and wide-ranging conversation with a lady from the Fact team in the Amartey Golding's solo exhibition on Sunday afternoon about not only the piece and it’s power but also opened our eyes to more exhibitions going on in the city for us to check out. This made the visit so worth while and I can’t recommend it enough to people in the Liverpool area.
Jordan M — Google review
FACT is one of Liverpool’s most exciting spaces for contemporary art, and each visit leaves me inspired and curious. What I love most is how it champions bold, forward-thinking artists and immersive experiences that go far beyond traditional gallery formats. During my recent visit, I was particularly struck by the work of RIP Germain and Sara Sadik’s XENON PALACE CHAMPIONSHIP—an interactive installation and film that was as thought-provoking as it was visually captivating. Sadik’s exploration of identity, masculinity, and digital worlds created a space that felt both intimate and otherworldly. The way visitors are invited to engage with the piece adds a whole new layer to the experience—it’s not just something you view; it’s something you feel and participate in. FACT continues to set itself apart by not only showcasing powerful contemporary voices but by creating environments where art becomes a full sensory experience. Whether it’s through sound, motion, or interaction, every exhibition challenges the viewer in the best possible way. This space proves that art can be immersive, playful, and deeply moving all at once. FACT is a must-visit for anyone who loves art that pushes boundaries and speaks to the present moment.

Nice and easy to get to from Central Station, good friendly staff. Automatic doors to get in, good signage about floors and facilities, a decent sized lift and Screen 1 is brilliant. I did get a bit confused because I couldn't see any clear seat or space numbers on the chairs or walls, so I just hoped I was in the right space. My one negative is that the disabled toilet is already on the small side but they have a massive baby changing table in the transfer space and a bin by the door, there is no turning circle, and the hand drying machine is awkward to use. And because there's no turning circle it's hard and painful to close the door and lock the door after myself. I had to do so by twisting my body around. I would have had to have backed up out of the bathroom to use the hand dryer less painfully. It's such an amazing building and institution, but as always bare minimum with the wheelchair accessible toilet. However given their more well known counterparts are refurbing to hell and back with prices soaring and access lessening, I will still be happy to visit again.
Al — Google review
I went to see the new horror movie “Weapons” which was playing in screen 2. Unfortunately, the sound in this room was far too quiet. So much so that several people went out to speak to the manager. You could barely hear any of the dialogue being spoken. I unfortunately couldn’t continue to watch the movie. Taking sound out of a horror movie detracts from the whole reason for watching. I was told that this is unfortunately how the digital reel was mixed for this cinema and there was an error. However when I went straight over to another cinema, I was told that this likely wasn’t true as all local cinemas receive the same copy of each film and it was likely the speaker which may have blown. Either way, if the projectionists or managers know that there’s an error with the screen, they shouldn’t be playing said picture. I was grateful to receive a refund after deciding to go and see the movie in a nearby cinema. But again if others were charged full price to see a movie that had sound issues I feel that’s a bit of an unethical move by the company.
Ant M — Google review
Let's talk about the pizza slice. I ordered a Vegetarian Hot slice. The cheese felt cheap and like chewing gum. The crust was extra floppy and lacked personality. ... The presentation, price, and the presence of oils on the table (peperoncino, aglio) - a nice touch.
D K — Google review
Brilliant place to visit the cinema or to take in some contemporary art. I usually come here to watch old films and there are plenty of seasons of movies from certain directors and genres etc. Lovely staff and a fab environment away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cinema chains.

Only went for drinks with friends and the dog, but the bar staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Brought out a dog bowl full of water, and surprised us all with a free hotdog for Alan (our corgi), which he scoffed down at speed! Definitely will be coming back for more good drinks, great atmosphere, and fantastic hospitality!

Review is for nighttime drinking and party time, not the food. Banging atmosphere, DJ knew how to ramp it up and slow it down (for bar and bog trips) just right. Being Halloween weekend obviously was more made than usual, but a fun, safe, night with the music booming was what the doctor ordered. 5th star saved for if ever I do order food and will update!

Love Lane Brewery, Bar and Kitchen is a renovated rubber factory turned into an 18,000 hectolitre brewery in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle. It celebrates the city's rich brewing history and offers an impressive collection of beers and gins. The brewery is capable of producing over three million pints annually and also welcomes furry friends with Love Lane-branded water bowls for them. Visitors can take a tour on weekends to learn about the beer-making process and enjoy samples along the way.
Food was delicious. I'll definitely make a return here. Sirloin Steak Roast dinner, and desserts for £23 per person. I recommend the sticky toffee pudding, but the chocolate fondant with ice cream was a close runner up.

As a wedding photographer who loves a good city wedding, I also love when my couples choose a venue that they'll feel comfortable in as well as somewhere they can have a great party. Love Lane Brewery is somewhere that guests will be familiar with, so they instantly feel relaxed, which makes for amazing photos. The Baltic Triangle also makes for a great backdrop for couple portraits too, with so many grafitti'd walls and gritty industrial streets. Perfect for modern non-traditional weddings. The food was so good and the staff were fun and friendly. Can't wait to shoot here again in the future.

Very good experience overall here, we were greeted and seated quickly on a Saturday evening. All the staff were interacted with were extremely friendly and polite. The beers we had were quite good, prices were reasonable and the portions were nice. Our burger, sausage and mashed and broccolini were fantastic, as were our kids' meals. Pretty good selection for the kids. Fantastic atmosphere and clean place overall, definitely a fun stop!

Not your usual place to consider as a wedding reception venue but don't dismiss it. Don't be put off with location as you will miss a gem. My son and now his wife picked this venue to have their wedding reception at, from the first enquiry they were impressed with the level care and input they received. On the run up to the big day I had cause to speak with Daisy the events person what a great lady nothing too much bother and everything done in a laidback ease of someone confident in her work which distressed some of the lead up. The venue is modern but quirky set on two floors but ample take 100 so guests. )Even though toilets on second floor theres a lift and disabled access toilet on ground floor nobody complained} The food was excellent and good and hearty for a October wedding. The staff all was excellent the beer was top notch. Thanks to all for making Jake and Mias wedding special

I ate here with a group of colleagues on a recent work trip. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. It was great to sit and chat with them about the current location and the history of the brewery. It has a small but very well composed menu. The pie seemed the biggest hit amongst the group. I didn't have it myself but it looked exceptional. Well filled with generous chunks of meat. I did however very much enjoy the twice cooked lamb belly with the gnocchi. All washed down with some very reasonably priced top quality brews!!!

Higson's Bitter was my favourite beer of our trip to Liverpool so a visit to the Love Lane Brewery was a must. All was going brilliantly until it came time to leave. The toilets are on the second floor!! Honestly, the second floor!! Yes yes management there's a lift but whoever planned that layout is not a beer drinker.

2 of the 3 cask ales are brewed under the Higsons band and it certainly brings back memories of Higsons of old. The food offer looks good and there’s plenty of space to accommodate groups of all sizes. Toilets are on the second floor; there’s a lift if you find this too much.

me and my boyfriend came here on the last day of our stay in Liverpool, we were drawn in by the 2 for £10 cocktails. I've only been here before on sunny days and sat outside on the balcony with a pint. It's a nice place to spend an afternoon with a nice view of the Albert Dock. It does get busy though when the weather's good so you need to get there early if you want a table. Today it was cold so I sat inside for the first time. It's huge inside with two floors and plenty of benches. Service was quick and efficient and a good selection of beers. I must come back one day and try out the German food.

Visited on a Sunday and just stayed for one drink but it’s a cool place. No atmosphere but this was due to the day/time we visited I expect. The bar itself is big, but then we found the cavernous sports bar area and the German beer hall at the rear. Both were completely empty but I’m sure it would be buzzing when full. Beer was cold and available in pints or plastic steins. Nice outside seating area. Two steins were twenty five quid though which was quite a lot, but there was a lot of beer!

The location is great and the view over the Royal Albert docks is also incredible but the overall experience was a little strange. It is possible that this is simply the restaurant’s policy, but given how much is self service, it is hard for people with small children or reduced mobility to get what they need quickly. The food and portions are good but would recommend that the management also implements something slightly more family friendly so that it is open to all.

Not only does The Ship & Mitre have a great atmosphere and a vast array of drinks, it also houses the One Pan Band; a fantastic spot if you're wanting something fried and delicious. Any of the loaded fries are unreal, but special mention goes to the Korean mac & cheese (pictured here). I nearly cried it was so good. Perfectly spicy and cheesy. I shared it with my brother and friend, it was so sad when it was over. Will be coming back and eating this a million times!

The Ship & Mitre is a interesting pub that’s well worth a visit, offering one of the broadest selections of ales you’ll find in the area, from local cask favourites to an impressive choice of world beers. The food is equally worth mentioning, with a menu that balances classic pub dishes with hearty meals perfect for pairing with a pint. The staff are polite, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations if you’re unsure what to try, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Inside, the venue has plenty of character and charm, with a lively yet relaxed feel that makes it ideal for both groups and solo visitors. The Ship & Mitre blends great beer, good food, and a friendly vibe into a fab pub experiences.

A top CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub with 8 real ales. Paulicarus had his first ever Billericay brewery beer. Zeppelin pale ale. Shaslic has a pint of Barncliffe bitter by Small World brewery. Lovely interior. Great find. Mrs says great larger selection. Food menu looks fab. Large function room avaiable to hire.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
The best fish and chips I have eaten in England until now, with very good potatoes. Also very good the homemade curry sauce and the classic sauce with peas. Too heavy the homemade tartar sauce. Chips tasty but seasonings and sauces too heavy. Beer not at the top, served at room temperature and not cold. Fish and chips 5 stars, the rest 3 stars.
Vincenzo G — Google review
We tried scouse here for the first time, and it was amazing. Huge shout-out to Chef Roger for his masterpiece. Aaron, the bartender, recommended I pair it with the Abyss beer, and I was really happy with the choice
Alireza A — Google review
A rather interesting pub is the best way I can describe it! Brilliant decor and architecture and a brilliant selection of craft ales and beers which seem to be updated and rotated regularly. Brilliant location from town centre/ lime street.
Reuben S — Google review
For me all the so called iconic pubs of Liverpool aren't much to write home about, but the Ship & Mitre is probably the best one. The beers we had from the pumps were actually very nice. And we had pork scratchings and a bowl of "Scouse" which was basically a vegetable stew which had a few minuscule scraps of lamb in it. Nothing special, but if you want to try it, you can try it here. Prices and service both very reasonable.

Visited last night for an adidas meet up. Great venue. However what made it was the lady behind the bar that never stopped. Customer service at its best. Whatever she paid isn’t enough. Highly recommend

Breakfast restaurant
Harvester Derby Pool Wallasey is a family-friendly restaurant chain that offers a variety of grilled meats, salads, pasta, and seafood. The location at Croft Park in Bromborough is known for its pancake stacks with various toppings like berries, bacon, and chocolate. Customers have praised the hot and tasty food as well as the excellent service provided by friendly staff members. The salad bar is highlighted as a delicious staple at this establishment.
My family and I have been here a lot over the years and we always have a great experience. For our most recent visit, I had booked the function room for my daughter’s 16th birthday. The room was a perfect size for her and her friends. I booked one off the buffets - great value - there was so much food and quite a few left overs- the restaurant provided me with some boxes so I could take it home. I was able to go in earlier in the day to put up some decorations and they said I could arrange the tables how I wanted. The service was fantastic, we had a lovely lady looking after us - Amanda thank you so much for your fantastic service and kindness, the manager was also lovely, nothing was too much bother. Some more of the staff also came in to sing happy birthday to my daughter. The derby pool hosts great views and is a perfect backdrop for some great pictures. If you are after a space for a celebration or to host an event, I absolutely recommend the derby pool(harvesters) function room. The room is free to use, you just pay for the food and the drinks, different food options available. Thank you derby pool for helping to make my daughter’s birthday celebration a success.

We had a really good breakfast at this Harvester I would have given this restaurant five stars if my hash browns hadn't have been swimming in oil and felt like they had been cooked earlier on and heated back up by refrying. I will definitely visit this restaurant again for an evening meal as I believe the salad bar here would be quite nice and the location is absolutely beautiful. You can eat whilst overlooking the sea and the beach
Leon B — Google review
Massive portions! We used to frequent here many years ago and thought as whilst we were on our quest to see the "cat man" in the dips we would take a pit stop for some dinner. Upon arrival there was a short 2 minute wait and we were offered a few different options for our table. It was moderatley busy as it was 6pm on a Saturday and we ended up moving as a child behind us had youtube blasting far too loud. We moved to another seat out the way and our server was more than happy to help. We ordered some Hot honey chicken wings for starters - very good! and had the salad bar - great variety and selection. Our son was made up with the fresh, warm bread rolls and refillable drinks. For mains we tried the Ultimate Mixed Grill - with half a chicken as the £3 upgrade option. It was very big and fed both myself and our growing 12 year old. In fact it was that big we ended up taking some home! We also tried the belly pork and chorizo skewers which again were nice. No room for desert! Just the bill and a trip to the gunsite! Great service and reasonably priced for 3 people (£20pp). Reccommended for families 👌 Also plenty of parking outside 👍

Really lovely location overlooking the beach and great value for money. Ellie our waitress was excellent and I hope her bosses see this. She was attentive and polite and always there when needed. The food was good, the place was clean and the staff were friendly

Night club
Jaloux is a popular night club in Liverpool city centre. The venue boasts a sleek and stylish interior, coupled with powerful cocktails and bottle service. The club is perfect for a night out with friends, or to catch a live DJ set on the weekends.
✨ Had the BEST time at Jaloux thanks to Alice! ✨ From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome and looked after us the entire brunch. Nothing was too much trouble – drinks were flowing, food was spot on, and Alice made the whole experience feel extra special. Especially being gluten free! She was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely made our day unforgettable. If you’re booking a bottomless brunch at Jaloux, make sure you ask for Alice – she honestly goes above and beyond to make it an amazing experience. 💕🍹

Macey was our hostess tonight. She was amazing!! Drinks flowing all night long and the music was something else. Would highly recommend a bottomless brunch here. The food was soooo tasty too😍😍

All round beautiful place, perfect if you like the floral pink aesthetic. We went on a Friday night R&B bottomless brunch to celebrate my birthday. The DJ was the star of the night because the music was a 10/10 with proper throwbacks. Luisa was amazing, super fast service and was totally on it with the drinks (they aren’t lying when they say bottomless). Wide variety to choose from but the frozen strawberry daiquiri was my personal favourite.
Imogen S — Google review
Went here with a hen party, the staff were fabulous very friendly and helpful, the venue is nice and there was a great atmosphere however the bottomless brunch was disappointing drinks were great, but the food was just a couple of plates of picky bits( spring rolls, chicken skewers and chicken bites) and a basket of crisps and a piece of cake, wasn't enough food. But glass was never empty and there were dancers and a sax player, it was good fun and we had a great time.
Lisa M — Google review
The service here was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we arrived, the staff made it clear that my daughter’s nut allergy was their top priority. They double-checked everything with the kitchen, explained the safe options to us in detail, and made sure she felt completely comfortable. You could tell they genuinely cared – it wasn’t just a box-ticking exercise, they truly went above and beyond to keep her safe. As a parent, it gave me so much peace of mind knowing she could enjoy her meal without any worry. The food and atmosphere were fantastic, but the way they looked after her allergy with such care is what made the whole experience so special. Honestly, 10/10 service – we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing bottomless brunch for my Daughters 30th! Best one yet, good selection of drinks never ran out! Saxophone player was fab also the dancers all made it extra special for her! well worth the extra money, Keep up the good work will definitely be back..

Came for bottomless brunch on a Saturday. Luisa was top notch, very polite and welcoming, and attentive with the drinks - we were never empty! The food was nice but not a big portion, which is fine for me but others might be disappointed if they have a big appetite - it is brunch after all not a dinner! Good tunes, dancers and saxophonist were fun vibes and energetic throughout!
Dylan M — Google review
Attended bottomless brunch for my friends hen and can honestly cant recommend this experience enough! The staff especially Luisa were incredibly accommodating and refilling our drinks non stop!! Sax phone and DJ were amazing!! The best experience for hen parties/birthdays! 10/10

The restaurant features a stylish indoor dining area as well as a glass terrace that remains open throughout the year. Guests can enjoy refined British cuisine while taking in the breathtaking vistas of the city, including the renowned Three Graces buildings.
lovely little roof top bar on top of 30 James st. cocktails were £8-9 ,a few weren't available on the day,but a decent range decent prices for view etc. Nice view of Albert Dock friendly helpful staff,

What a disappointing place. Looks like it should be quite upmarket but is actually trashy. No food available. The barman was dozing as on a chair as we walked in. Standing at the bar ordering drinks, the staff were effing and blinding. The toilets were filthy. All in all not a place to visit.
Andy G — Google review
Friendly staff, great view outside, lovely place to visit for a drink or cocktail. I can't recommend the restaurant, the food was not great. Steak was full of gristle and overcooked burger was ok but nothing special with a small choice on the menu. Given the location there are many other much better restaurants around for the same price or less.
Robert H — Google review
This place was included in my stay at the hotel, with a lovely 2 course meal. Which was absolutely amazing. The staff were so polite, helpful and talkative. The view from the restaurant down onto Liverpool is beautiful (especially at night). The quantity was just right and the food was cooked and served very well! Not the cheapest place but certainly worth it!
Naomi J — Google review
If looking for a bar with a view, this is a place to be on. Be prepared to spend! If u are on wheels be warned , u might struggle on manoeuvrability in the lift as it is tight for even 4 people including a luggage. Staff wise they are very accommodating.

Had a lovely meal that was included in our stay at 30 James Street with a lovely waitress. Can't remember her name bit she looked like Rhianna! She was always smiling which was lovely to see. It was out first wedding anniversary and they gave is a lovely dessert platter to mark the occasion which was a lovely surprise and such a nice touch. The food was gorgeous and well presented. There is currently some renovations going on but we weren't affected by it except we were going to go back for a drink during the day not it was unfortunately closed. We would love to go back when the buildng work had finished.

Great roof top views. This isn’t Florence so don’t expect too much from the views but good location between Albert Dock and the City Centre. On top of the 30 St James Hotel which is the old headquarters of the White Star Line company and so the entire hotel including this bar is Titanic themed.
Paul J — Google review
I only had breakfast here, as the restaurant was closed 😩. The breakfast was lovely and being a buffet breakfast you could serve yourself. Hot coffee was brought to the table and the veg sausages where really tasty . The restaurant is in the rooftop bar area, with stunning views 👌 😍

Nestled beneath the bustling streets of Liverpool, El Bandito is a hidden gem that immerses you in a vibrant Mexican ambiance. This underground tequila bar boasts an inviting atmosphere with its charming brick walls, colorful tiles, and flickering candlelight that create a cozy retreat from the outside world. Known for its lively Mexican-themed nights featuring playful skull-shaped cups and festive piñatas, El Bandito promises an unforgettable experience filled with delicious nachos and potent cocktails.
If you’re into tequila, El Bandito is an absolute must in Liverpool. Julio behind the bar really knows his stuff – he took the time to talk me through the tequila options and helped me pick the perfect drink. The balance was spot on, and I could really taste the quality. At first, the dingy vibes were a little disorienting, but over time it’s become part of the place's charm. It has this underground feel that just works for the atmosphere. I love bringing people to El Bandito when they're new to Liverpool, and every time, they’re always impressed by the drinks and the vibe. Julio’s expertise is always a highlight. Whether you're a tequila enthusiast or not, you’re guaranteed to have a great time here. Can't recommend it enough!

The best bar in Liverpool by a mile, been going there for years and always have a blast. The service on the whole is great apart new bartender who has been consistently rude and short with me every time I order with her, her drinks also are no where near the standard compared to when the other bar staff make them. Disappointing, but won’t stop me going to this absolute gem in Liverpool city centre.
Nathan 1 — Google review
Decent drinks and the space has a lovely simple vibe. When we arrived there was a bulldog sitting at the bar visibly slobbering on it; other punters turned up and left upon seeing this. At one point the dog farted and the barman sprayed airfreshener all over the place- the taste of Lysol remained with us for a long time after. The opposite of a vibe.
Thomas M — Google review
Fab little bar! The cocktail bar staff, wow they were amazing! They were on their own taking orders left right and centre! Really great service and the cocktails were awesome! Not a fan of tequila but the cocktails 🤯 Definitely recommend this place. Fab atmosphere!

Very lucky to have the cheese as my local, always at least 3 real ales on plus a good selection of bottled British beers. Friendly licensee and staff make this the perfect place for a couple of pints - good beer garden and beer festivals as well. New licensee has improved beer choice and quality and is now selling a wide range of premium gins.

Nice place, Food and drinks are good but I ordered fish and chips and I got just chips. Absolutely livered but I had to go and catch my own fish. Service is good but who actually orders just chips??? Atmosphere is good but the drunk people around me scared me. Do recommend.

Attended a function in the Gin Garden recently and would highly recommend for any occasion. The gin garden has a roof and retractable perspex walls, so when it was raining we were all safely undercover with plenty of space inside but were able to open it all out again once the sun came out! Time truly flies when you're having fun, and a visit to The Scrap Yard in Liscard is no exception! This vibrant spot is a highlight of the Wirral Real Ale Trail, boasting an impressive selection of nearly 20 craft beers on tap. The atmosphere buzzes with community spirit, making it an inviting haven for both locals and visitors. Dog lovers will be delighted to find that The Scrap Yard welcomes furry friends with open arms.
I love this place. The staff are so nice on and off duty. It's one of the few places that you can get a decent hot drink from in the late afternoon into the evening. It even has a separate bar for them. It has an outdoor area that is small but well designed and stylish. It's a kind of cool, quirky, and openly dog friendly.
Emma W — Google review
I finally called in for breakfast the other day, and was very impressed. Being a bigger guy, I automatically asked whether they serve a "large breakfast" and the waitress told me that their breakfasts are pretty big, so I was happy to try the "Scrappy Breakfast" as it comes: bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, vine tomato, beans, hash brown, black pudding, Ulster fry and hot, buttered toast. It was all delicious, and definitely big enough for me. Some highlights were the fact that the Ulster fry is carved from a catering-sized block, that would make any tin of Spam feel inadequate, and the sausage is a full ten inches! I was absolutely not expecting to order ice-cream as an accompaniment to it, but I spotted "affogato" on the menu, which is a deliciously rich espresso, poured over a scoop of Kelly's Cornish ice-cream. I'll be back! 😋
Dominic G — Google review
Great place to pop into in Liscard for a coffee, tea, beer or snack. It's a very chilled out spot in the morning and perfect for a nice teacake and cappuccino. It's open from 9am to 11pm most days and the bar opens at 12pm if you want a good quality pint. The place has a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Every age group comes in, it's dog friendly and it feels like the whole local community uses it. During the week it hosts live music, a quiz, board games and crochet meetings. There's indoor and outside seating and toilet facilities.
