Nestled along the beautiful shores of Stalis, Beachcomber Bar Restaurant is a fresh addition to the Cretan beach scene that has quickly made waves. While some locals reminisce about the tranquil atmosphere of yesteryears, many are drawn to this vibrant beach club that exudes a luxurious vibe reminiscent of Dubai by the Mediterranean. With its modern design and meticulous attention to detail, Beachcomber offers an unforgettable beach experience for families and friends alike.
As a family with two young children, we visited this beach club twice and had a better experience the second time once we knew what to expect. While the sunbeds were exceptionally comfortable (and we were able to reserve four through our hotel, Village Heights), we found the staff to be a bit abrupt and lacking in the usual friendly Greek hospitality. The exception was a very attentive woman who waited on us both times and was constantly tidying up the sunbeds. Overall, there was a sense that guests were seen as "cash" rather than being genuinely welcomed. The beach itself is beautiful, with soft sand that extends into the water. We appreciated that the lifeguard was quick to ensure swimmers stayed clear of the large rocks farther out. Be aware that the waves here can be big and strong, so young children should always be supervised. Having said that our kids had a fantastic time playing in the waves. The food was good, but it's more modern than traditional. I prefer simple dishes, so a Greek salad with cucumber foam wasn't my favorite. A tip for families: the kids' meals are huge and could easily be shared between two children. Ps Vendors walks along the beach offering fresh donuts/ massages.

Only ate in the restaurant here, so the ratings reflect this only. Good cocktails before the meal. A few vegan options on the menu. The food is very good. More modern than a traditional taverna. Both meals were so good, we came back a second time during our stay in Stalis. Quite expensive, but not overpriced for the restaurant decor, service and standard of cooking.

Perfect Beachfront Lunch 🌴🍹 I had an amazing experience at Beachcomber in Stalis! I enjoyed a delicious lunch and a refreshing cocktail right on the beach, with the sound of the waves in the background. The view was absolutely stunning, and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was friendly and quick, making the whole experience even better. I can’t wait to come back!

Our Hotel had a partnership with the Beachcomber so we were here several times during our crete vacation. The food is really good! Especially the fries which seems to be selfmade fried potatoes instead of some frozen product and also the Sushi is superb! In addition when you are chilling at the Beach you can ring directly from your sunbed for the service and then order directly. I'd like to use this opportunity to thank Jana for her great service! Always a smile and a warm welcome even when all sunbeds were booked. If we come back to crete we'll surely revisit the Beachcomber.

My husband and I had a magnificent meal and delicious cocktails here recently. We had a few different cocktails each plus, gin number 4 and a glass of Rose wine. Superfood salad with hallumi which was absolutely amazing, steak with chips for my husband. The best meal we had in Stalis on our recent holiday and will definitely visit when we stay next year. Not the cheapest but, you get what you pay for, recommended 👌🏼
Melanie W — Google review
A lovely beach but very close to other beds on the beach. Not much movement for wriggling and moving into/out of the sunshine. If the umbrellas are up then you're in the shade (even the brolly next to you shades you). A beautiful spot, attached to a lovely bar and restaurant. Staff are very attentive. Our sunbeds cost €35 for two beds and brolly. We were 3 rows back, when we asked to move we were told we couldn't because the front ones were more expensive (we'd booked through our hotel - Village Heights) The food was delicious at the restaurant and the sea was lovely. But do expect to be crowded/close to people.
Claire T — Google review
We had an amazing time at Beach Comber Bar 2 days in a row! The service was outstanding — Jana was so friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. The sun beds are super comfortable, and it’s great that kids are welcome too, which made it perfect for our family day out. The food was delicious, and the prices are really affordable — great value for money! Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed beach vibe with excellent service.
Nicola K — Google review
I will be honest and echo what one of your previous guests felt about the club and say that my family had a disappointing experience at beachcomber we visited this beach club once. The place is nice, modern, the sunbeds are comfortable (reserved through Village Heights), but we also found the staff to be a bit abrupt and lacking in the usual friendly Greek hospitality. We was not explained anything about the rules (you have to pay extra for beds on the front row, no drinks from outside of the bar including water) and he was right, there was a sense that guests were seen as "cash" rather than being genuinely welcomed. We had arrived by car and while looking for the place as the directions provided was incorrect which had added to our frustrations.

Greek restaurant
Maria's Golden Beach in Stalis is a must-visit restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. The staff treats you like family, making you feel special and remembered. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with explanatory pictures and affordable prices. Guests can enjoy beach service on new, comfortable beach chairs while indulging in the amazing food. One visitor raved about the generous portions of tender steak that melted in their mouth, while another praised the rich menu and pleasant sea view.
Very lovely, albeit very busy, restaurant to have dinner at. Our food tasted amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you're not rushed at all. We had complimentary bread with garlic butter and olives as an appetizer, and after dinner, we got complimentary ice cream and a shot of raki. All in all, delicious and well worth the decent prices. You won't regret it.
George — Google review
The food here is unbelievably delicious, and the service is incredibly friendly. We ended up becoming regulars and you could feel it in the way we were treated. They even tried to help us when we asked what we should see here in Crete. Some of the staff speak German and even make an effort to speak more, which we really appreciated. We (and especially I) are absolutely thrilled and can wholeheartedly recommend this place and its amazing atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful time!
Ella N — Google review
One of the best restaurants in the area! The service is warm and welcoming, making you feel completely at ease and able to fully enjoy your meal. We’ve dined here several times and every single dish has been excellent. For the best experience, I recommend visiting around 6pm—there are fewer people at that time, and you can really enjoy the cozy, family-style hospitality that makes this place so special.
Jiri S — Google review
This is one of my all time favorite tavernas in whole Greece. Our group of 6 came here to dinner 3 nights in a row and everything we ordered was amazing: grilled octopus, lamb chops, liver, tzatziki, calamari, sea bass and of course, let’s not forget about the gyros. The cocktails (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) were delicious. But the thing that made us return was the staff. Incredible customer service, attention to details, more than eager to make sure that every customer has a great experience. Pablo was our waiter every night and he was beyond friendly and nice, making jokes with the kids, bringing a smile to everyone faces. All the staff has a great attitude, approachable and open to any requests and suggestions. They gave out complementary focaccia, ice cream and rachia, every night. We were sad that our holiday ended and we couldn’t go to eat there again. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you for making our experience so nice.
Anca I — Google review
What can I say about this place. Nothing really gives it justice. It’s an amazing place. The food is delicious, the view to the beach is great and the service and staff are brilliant. Being gluten intolerant, it saved my holiday from the anxiety of finding places to eat. I did a lot of research before hand of different places I could eat but this place by far was the best. There were so many options for food! I had something different every time we ate there! I have only taken one star off the food category as there was a slight blip on one of the nights where I asked for gluten free halloumi and it was brought out on a pitta bread. I explained that I could not eat it and they then brought it back out without the pitta. I did have to explain that I could not eat it still as it had touched the pitta. They sorted it out quickly and dealt with it. But that was the only time there was an issue. Would highly recommend even for non gluten free people as my husband and kids also throughly enjoyed their meals. Thank you to all of you at Maria’s Golden Beach for making our holiday wonderful.
Claire D — Google review
A large restaurant that caters to tourist crowds and has little in common with the gastronomic quality of Cretan cuisine. The restaurant's good reviews prompted us to visit what it describes as the "oldest taverna in Stalida". To call this restaurant with its huge terrace a taverna is a bold move. Since the menu posted here in June 2025, prices have increased by over 10%! Unfortunately, the quality of the food hasn't. As in most tourist restaurants on the main street of holiday destinations, the guests are actively approached and lured into the restaurant. For us, this is actually always a reason to give such establishments a wide berth. Accordingly, we chose the side entrance and were greeted by several waiters with a very business-like handshake and assigned a table. The service is friendly and determined and gets down to business quickly. The menu is in four languages and all the dishes are illustrated so that holidaymakers who don't speak the language don't have to experience any unexpected foreign dishes. We opt for a colourful salad with slices of smoked pork and cheese (small golden salad €7.80) as a starter. Our main courses were the "Mixed Grill for 2" (€38.90) and the Greek speciality plate (Greek Plate €21.90). The salad was good and had a fine flavour thanks to its dressing and the aromatic meat. The mixed grill for 2 people was large. Unfortunately, only the biftekis were really hot. The rest of the skewers were lukewarm to cold. The meat was very well done, tough and rather over-seasoned. The side rice was ok, the tzaziki was average and small, but could be reordered free of charge. Only the french fries were perfect - warm and crunchy. The Greek speciality plate had a colourful mix of typical Greek dishes, all of which were of average quality. When we were asked how the meat had been, our response was that it had been hard and cold. The waiter just said, that the restaurant and the kitchen was very busy and that this could happen then....🤔 We were offered an ouzo and our son an ice cream. After almost two weeks in various restaurants and places on Crete, this was actually the first restaurant in which no dessert plus a digestive came from the kitchen as a greeting. This is probably due to its location in a place that is only visited by tourists. Outside of Greece, the place would be described as an average restaurant. The good ratings on Google Maps are obviously due to the fact that the guests who come here have never experienced the really high-quality cuisine of Crete outside of this holiday resort. However, as we have got to know the Greek standard of restaurants in Rhodes and Crete over the past three weeks and travel to Greece since 2015 the quality here can unfortunately only be described as below average.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu had a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options, and the owner took a genuine interest in making sure we were happy with the selection. It is clear they care about offering something for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food, kind service, and a personal touch that makes all the difference.

Very beautiful beach club — the best one I visited during my stay in Crete! The beach was stunning: clean, not too crowded, and with crystal-clear water. The food and cocktails were great as well! Sunbeds cost €25 each, and that includes a bottle of water and a clean towel. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing and stylish beach day!
Ilona R — Google review
Very nice place for a relaxing evening with friends and drinks. It has a unique and exclusive atmosphere, with great music and a nice view of the sea. The menu contains a wide selection of different drinks and cocktails, at quite normal prices. Unfortunately, I have to give one star less due to the service - the staff is very friendly, but there are not enough waitpersons, so as a consequence after 30 minutes of waiting for the second order, we left the place.
Paweł P — Google review
I booked beach beds ahead of our hols and would say probably worth doing to make sure there’s availability. Lovely sea views and atmosphere with chilled music playing all day. Would 100% recommend the seafood platter .. Tuna, Salmon, prawns, sea bass and sides all cooked to perfection ! Good selection of wines to accompany too ! 🥂 The absolute highlight of our visit was Izmir’s service ! Couldn’t do enough for us and really made the visit a lovely day - Thanks Izmir ! Defo worth a visit to break up a hotel holiday.

I've been to many beach clubs all over the world - Miami, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Bali - but this restaurant with a beach club is one of the best I've ever visited. The staff are super friendly and do a fantastic job, and the food is delicious. They cater to special requests. I have some physical limitations following surgery, but they immediately provided me with a more comfortable chair. If I could give it seven stars, I would. Highly recommended. Absolutely fantastic location with really nice people and really great cocktails and food. HG

A beautiful place with great attention to detail. Fantastic service from Theo and Patryk! The gentlemen took care of our comfort during our two visits. It's been a long time since I've encountered such professional and friendly service! The food is top-notch!

Had the BEST time. We went the day before and fell in love with the place. Such a nice vibe. Chill, but also playing good music that it feels like you’re out. We had amazing food and perfect service each time. Definitely book the sea view spot by asking for it when you do the booking and find out what time the sunset will be so you can see it when you’re having dinner. It was perfect.
Milly W — Google review
A beautiful location, right on the seafront. With that comes a slightly higher price tag but the food was really tasty and good size portions. I'd recommend the chicken souvlaki and my husband really enjoyed the sea bass! I'd recommend this restaurant!
Rachel C — Google review
Absolutely amazing restaurant and staff. We stayed near by for 10 nights and every single day we ate here, every time the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The food just made it even better it was affordable and insane!! This restaurant made our holiday the food was some of the best we have ever had. If you stay near by please do not miss out by not going to this place. Wish I could take it home with us🙈❤️ p.s they make the best pornstar martini I’ve ever had!

"The Red Lion" is a lively pub with a variety of entertainment options such as pub quizzes, bingo, and karaoke. The atmosphere is described as intimate and friendly, making it feel like singing in your own living room after drinks with friends. The staff are highly praised for being fun, friendly, and attentive. While some mention that the staff may be overstretched at times due to high customer volume, others appreciate the genuine welcome extended to everyone.
This is a good place for sport, there are 13 screens so you can watch whatever premier league team you support. They have a quiz every night at 9.30pm and are wheelchair accessible. A must visit place if in area. Cannot comment on the food as only had free bar snacks and atmosphere was OK as there in morning but expect evening's to be lively.
Colin J — Google review
"I wouldn’t recommend eating at this place due to hygiene concerns. The toilets were not clean, which was off-putting, and there was a strong smell of cats around the seating area, making the overall dining experience unpleasant. On the positive side, the Guinness was reasonably priced at €6.50, and the wine was decent. The bar also offers good entertainment, with football well covered on TV and bingo nights featuring prizes of up to €250. Despite these positives, the overall atmosphere and lack of cleanliness left a lot to be desired."

Great place ,won the pub quiz there. They also do bingo if that's your thing. Nice atmosphere and good service.

Dolphin Beach Bar is a popular and lively spot located in the Malia Beach resort, offering stunning views over the bay of Malia. With tasteful lounge music, the sound of the sea, and delicious drinks, it's an inviting location to spend your evenings. Families will appreciate the shallow water and soft sand, making it a perfect choice for all ages. Visitors praise the excellent food options including Gyros, Souvlaki, Pizza, and Salad.
Had a short stay here but everything was fantastic. Make toilet facilities could do with a slight upgrade, this would be my only feedback. A place to wash feet would be good too.

Apart from the clean beach with excellent service and clear water with fine sand, I would like to give a big shoutout to Jaqueline and her husband. The food at the Dolphin Beach Bar was excellent! Whether it was Gyros, Souvlaki, Pizza, or Salad, thanks to the kitchen at the Dolphin Beach Bar, my family and I returned to the hotel with satisfied stomachs after each beach visit. When we wanted to explore more of Malia, Jaqueline was our go-to person. She is extremely helpful and even advised us on matters like boat trips in Malia, even though it's not her responsibility. Thanks to her connections, we had a wonderful boat trip on our second-to-last day of vacation. The host Jaqueline and her equally hospitable husband give their best to every customer, and I would recommend this beach bar to everyone! We spent our last vacation day at the Dolphin Beach Bar without a single regret! Thanks again to all the staff at the Dolphin Beach Bar, and especially a huge thank you to Jaqueline and her husband!

Quite a nice place to enjoy the beach at Malia. Unfortunately prices have increased slightly over the last few years but as far as I am concerned it's still fair pricing. Corona has left it's marks everywhere in the economy. We have had some drinks, a pizza and pita giros. It was nice. Also rented sunbeds+ umbrella (2 sunbeds+ 1 umbrella for 15 Eur total). Nevertheless definitely a thumbs up 😁👍

Nestled in the picturesque Plaka village of Lasithi, Ocean - Bar & Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of Spinalonga Island. This charming eatery is celebrated for its exquisite menu that highlights fresh, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing the best of Greek cuisine. Whether you visit during the day or evening, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere complemented by friendly service from both beach and restaurant staff.
This place was one of our favourites. Offering free sun beds, delicious food, beautiful surroundings and the best cocktails. The staff were all amazing especially George and the bar man being our favourites. Gave us such a warm welcome and made our night. The surroundings were inviting. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The perfect Stallis pit stop. Don't ride any further! FREE PARKING 😎 Such a friendly cool place to rest your weary cycle legs. The cocktails were amazing and all the staff such fun. We stopped for a quick break and stayed a while longer! What Greek hospitality is all about. We will be back... This place is so full of genuinely lovely people. Update... We ate on the second visit and so glad we did. Service again amazing and the food was so tasty. Beach food of olives, garlic mussels, fries, and our favourite, the grilled octopus was perfect. The octopus had a distinct wood fired flavour and was tender, succulent and unspoilt. Beach beds supplied with drinks served by the fun, attentive and professional waiter. This place ended up being our favourite during our 4 week stay around Crete and the only place we felt we wanted to visit more than once, simply due to the friendly family that ran the place. Can't wait to come back next time on the island. Ευχαριστώ πολύ. 💓

This place is hands down the best bar I’ve been to in Crete! The bartender is a true master of his craft—I’ve tried over 10 different Margaritas in my life, but his is by far the most legit. The flavor is just perfect! Not only are the drinks amazing, but he also puts on an incredible show with his bottle-flipping tricks, adding so much fun to the experience. The atmosphere here is unbeatable—lively, welcoming, and just the right vibe. If you’re in Crete, don’t miss this spot. 10/10! 🍸🔥

I first discovered Stalis and the Ocean Bar and Restaurant last year as a solo traveller and it quickly became my little corner of heaven. This year I returned with my friend and my daughter, hoping I hadn’t over-sold it to them. I absolutely hadn’t! We spent the majority of our holiday around here. My friend and I both have incredibly busy and stressful jobs so to be able to just lie on a real bed on the beach, with fantastic bar and food service was such a chilled experience. We loved the incredible ocean view, the sun and breeze, the entertainment of people-watching, the ever-present “Lekka Lekka” donut man, the best massages on the beach by Lily, the supermarket right next door…and then returning in the evening to be really looked after by the loveliest of staff. I can see us returning here again and again. It’s a very special place.

A fab little spot, with free sunbeds and amazing and v reasonably priced coffee. We were a group of 9 and they couldn’t do enough to ensure we all had sun loungers and parasols Beautiful sandy beach and sea and lifeguard watching over too. Can’t recommend enough.

Amazing, it’s a shame it’s not always full , we tried this beach bar for the free sun beds , but the owner , the waitress, everyone was so nice , the owner greeted us at the entrance and took us to the sun beds , the waitress was always there to take care of our needs . The food was amazing, we had a Greek salad and chicken sandwich club , big portions and very tasty. The drinks too . I highly recommend, and we will go there again for sure

Jasmine House is an exceptional restaurant with outstanding service and delicious cuisine. It is highly recommended for visitors to Stalida, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food is consistently hot, well-seasoned, and delightful. With starters, alcoholic drinks, and mains accompanied by rice, the total cost for two people is a great bargain compared to other restaurants in Crete or the UK. Even after five years, the quality of both the food and service remains at an excellent level.
Only Chinese I think along the Stalis strip. Lovely staff and a good menu. Meal deals were good. We had 2 starters, chicken curry and a chow mein. All really nice but salty in my opinion. Good portions then you get complimentary fruit and waffles and chocolate!! Well worth a visit ☺

The only Chinese restaurant on Stalis strip, and it is delicious. The food is of high quality, the menu is huge. The crispy duck for starter is amazing, the beef in the mains was very soft as well. We ate here twice during our holiday and would definitely recommend
Charlotte L — Google review
For a change we opted for a Chinese dinner at the Jasmine House. The portion sizes are very generous so be careful in how much you order , between the 4 of us we ordered 6 and it was way too much and I wish our waiter had advised us to scale our order down but hey ho. Our chosen dishes were cooked well and the standout ones were the starters, in particular the fried dumplings plus the chicken satay.... yum.

Top of the range , food level of service and cost , all excellent, we popped in the 1st night and it was so good we made a booking for another visit and that was also fantastic, like your Chinese? This is the spot

Had a great time visiting the restaurant, your typical Chinese food with a large menu and great taste, except no longer does sushi ☹️. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and our server Spiros has a great vibe and was very funny.

Mythos is a charming restaurant tavern located in Stalida, Crete, offering stunning views of the sea. The menu is diverse and reasonably priced, and the staff provides warm hospitality. Additionally, Mythos offers beach service with cold drinks and traditional Greek cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy sandy beaches with gradual water depth and affordable sunbed rentals. The restaurant's stone oven pizzas are highly recommended, complemented by friendly service and a lively atmosphere with Greek music.
Spacious restaurant with views overlooking the sea, sunbeds for those who wish to relax by sea. I went in for something to eat and was meet by the owner who showed us to our table, didn't rush us and when the drinks and meal came they were outstanding. Pizzas cooked in wood burning oven. Will be going back before end of holiday.

What a beautiful place, we are welcomed very friendly and with a big smile. The pizzas we ordered are great, but for us a bit too cheesy to finish. No problem to take it home ofcourse! Would recommend this to everyone.

1 spaghetti bolognaise and 1 chicken rigatoni. Delicious. Spacious restaurant to the back of which are plenty of sunbeds and parasols so you can pop back and to. Waiters very friendly. Plus the lovely Branco who manages the beds but will deliver your food and drink order. Great! And again... tagliatelle... lovely

Staying in Stalis, went for a walk and came upon Mythos, what a great place. Lovely people and their beach space is the best here. €15 a day for 2 sunbeds and shade. Most importantly lots of room round the beds to move around. Food and drink is lovely and service top notch. We will be coming here all week now, even though the hotel has sunbeds on the beach, this is much better!
Matt W — Google review
We had lunch today at the Mythos restaurant tavern, of course, but we are really fans of Mythos beer! The menu is very rich and the prices are within normal limits for the location. We were received very warmly, we really felt very well. Being close to the sea, I also benefited from the sea breeze, so it was not very hot. Being close to the place where we are staying in Stalida, we will definitely come back!

This is my first review ever, but this restaurant made me write one. Great service, the waiters all had a smile on their faces and were very polite. The gyros was by far the best thing I ate in Crete that week. I can fully recommend this restaurant. A very relaxed and lovely evening with the sound of the sea and delicious food.

Tourist trap. Food is very bad. We ordered two coffees and two desserts and they brought us desserts with moulding. Luckily we saw it and we told the waiter that the food contains mould and he said nothing, still asking us to pay 7€ for two espresso. Restaurant like this should close, tourist deserve to eat real food, not rubbish.
Diego D — Google review
We were a bit unsure about coming because of the low rating, but everything was actually really nice. We asked when we arrived if we could pay by card and it wasn’t a problem. The staff were friendly and polite. We came for dinner and had gouvetsi and pastitsio — both were very tasty. The décor is simple, nothing fancy, but fine. Unlike some other places there weren’t freebies at the start, but the portions were generous, and we liked that we didn’t end up overeating. At the end we even got a free small drink with the bill, which was a nice touch. Overall, a really good experience.

Kahlua Premium Beach Bar is a popular spot in Hersonissos known for its non-stop live performances and parties. Situated right by the sea, it offers an all-day and night entertainment experience. The bar boasts renowned barmen who serve up a wide selection of cocktails. Nestled under the Eva hotel, Kahlua provides stunning views of Hersonissos bay and offers delicious food options like beef burgers and crispy potato wedges.
This is one of my first reviews or even the first and this has a reason. This beach bar and it’s awesome staff and food made our vacation! From day one the staff always greeted us with a big smile and an amazing service! I think we are at a point were we tried everything on the day menu and they didn’t let us down once from cocktails to food! In the night it’s a whole other experience with a dj & live music, a different staff and menu but the same amazing service and food! The fact that we keep coming back every day says it all! I couldn’t give a better recommendation and next time we visit we will stay in this hotel! (So a big thank you to everyone)

A decent but not unique cocktail menu. The finger food was OK. The shisha flavour list & add on options are extensive, which I loved. The star of the show was definitely the view/ambiance. The service wasn’t the greatest in terms of being attentive, but the waiters/waitresses were all kind. They do offer blankets upon request, which is a nice touch.
Lauren K — Google review
Great location, friendly service, but whoever was in the kitchen should seriously reconsider their career. The risotto was cooked to mush, and the shrimp lifeless - tasting as if they had been forgotten in a freezer for a month. A real shame for such a beautiful bar! It's always disappointing when a restaurant saves on food quality. Come here for drinks, sun and music - just pray the chef finds a new hobby, preferably far away from pots and pans.

Kahlua Beach is a fantastic spot in Hersonissos! The wine was amazing, the view is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff are so friendly and attentive. To top it off, we were even treated to a complimentary fruit platter, which was such a lovely touch. The whole experience felt relaxed, welcoming, and special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks by the sea with excellent service!

Stylish and very clean bar at the beach. A live DJ (or musicians) play every night. Most customers dress up fancy. You don't seat yourself but the waiters will seat you. The location is beautiful and the service is remarkably attentive (empty glasses are removed almost instantly and ashtrays are swapped for fresh ones after almost every cigarette!). The food is tasty but unfortunately they offer only 2 vegetarian options - the portion sizes could be bigger though. The cocktails are exquisite - ask for their excellent Espresso Martini (it's not on the menu and it's delicious)
1randomengineer — Google review
The steak I had was tasty, but the presentation was really disappointing. It honestly looked like prison food, especially with the plain potato on the side. The timing was also off. My steak arrived much earlier than the rest of the group’s food, which was mainly sushi. We ordered a 4-person sushi platter, but it was barely enough for two people. We left still feeling hungry, which is not what you expect after a full meal. That said, the atmosphere was nice and the place has a good vibe. The service was fine, but the overall value didn’t quite match the price. The food tasted good, but the portions and presentation need serious improvement.
Olaxy — Google review
The waiter was super nice and told us the sunbeds were free if we ordered drinks. We had fresh orange juices, enjoyed the beach, and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you and we will definitely be back again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Night – Amazing Food, Drinks, and Vibes! From start to finish, our experience at this restaurant bar was absolutely top-notch. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and lively — ideal for a night out with friends or a special occasion. We were warmly welcomed and hosted by Anton and Hannah, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their hospitality was genuine, attentive, and full of great energy — they truly made the night memorable! The food was phenomenal, with every dish crafted to perfection and packed with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive — creative, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re coming for the drinks, the food, or just to enjoy the vibe, this place hits all the right notes. We’ll definitely be back — and bringing more friends with us next time!

Meltemi is a family-friendly beach bar and restaurant located in Hersonissos. The beach area offers plenty of space for kids to play, while the upper level features a large pool where both kids and parents can have fun together. The staff are known for their friendliness and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The beach is clean, with sunbeds and parasols available for a fee, or guests can use the beach or pool area for free.
We stopped in here for a brunch during our walk along the beach. Lovely part of the beach with loungers that can be rented for the day both in the poolside or on the beach. Food was delicious and milkshake was gorgeous too. Staff were really friendly and we had a great conversation with them too. Chilled area and it was really nice to watch out on the beach during our stop here too.

My friend and I took a trip to Hersonissos from Stalis and were drawn to Meltemi to eat our lunch. The staff are really lovely and were happy for us to order a bunch of starters as a kind of tapas. The food was incredible and I highly recommend the meatballs. . The toilet facilities were spotless. I am going to come back next year and spend a day here.

First lunch on the island. We ordered Tzaziki, grilled chicken and chicken gyros with a fresh beer. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Despite looking a bit geared towards tourists, the food was very fresh and tasty, well done.

This beach bar saved our holiday. The staff are all super friendly and really make a great atmosphere and make you feel so welcome. The beach is lovely and clean, the cost for 2 sunbeds and a parasol is 15 euros but you can use the beach or swimming pool area for sunbeds. Restaurant is lovely, and food is delicious and filling. Toilets and changing rooms are also available. There is a children's pool too. The beach is lifeguard manned, which is a comfort too.

This was recommended to us when we visted piskopiano in 2023. We felt very welcome and loved the fact that we could move from beach to pool and back again for only 20 euros for 2 beds and a parasol. It’s clean. Lovely views and good food. The best part is the family who run the place. We found a deal to stay in Koutouloufari for cheap with not the best reviews. As we love the village so much we took the gamble knowing the we had this place as a back up! We only came twice in 2023 but we were remembered. This time we visted 3 times 10:30-6pm. (FYI - It’s closed Sundays)

Lovely pool bar overlooking the sea. They offer a variety of snacks. I can recommend the club sandwich, the Greek salad and the gyros bagett. All pretty good, but a bit pricey. The staff are soo friendly though, lovely people.

The Greek know how to do hospitality: wonderful friendly service and very attentive. This restaurant is a must visit when in Hersonissos - beautiful view of the sea and delicious greek food. Make sure not to sit right next to the swimming pool and order yourself some vine leave wrapped snacks.

The Irish House Stalis is a popular spot in the area, offering a great value for money and lovely staff. The place is known for its amazing cocktails, with the Mudslide being particularly recommended. Despite the kitchen being closed at one point, they went out of their way to prepare a chicken Caesar salad wrap to go. It's an Irish pub that offers Guinness, live sports on TV, tasty food, and even has a beer garden right on the Mediterranean beach.
Went here for a pint (the Guinness is excellent) food is available but never tried it. There is a beach out the back where patrons can use the sunbeds as long as you buy a drink. Was made to feel very welcome by the owners. Will be coming back again. There is a DJ on at nights and pool and TV for sports.

Without a doubt...the best roast dinner I have tasted in my life! Excellent atmosphere, sunbed drinks service on the beach and the staff were fantastic! 100% recommend if you're in Northern Crete
Mike W — Google review
Went to the Irish House last night to see Jim Brown vocalist. He was excellent, doing songs from the 1970,80, 90 and early 20. The pub is in the center of Stalis and looks out onto the beach, fab. We did not have food in the pub, so could not review it. On arriving I asked the bar girl if she had Pernod or if she did martinis. She said no, so my wife had a Coke zero and I had a point of local lager, not great. Second round I asked for a Mojito and my wife asked for a Malibu and pineapple. When then arrive, the Mojito looked fab with fresh mint in it, in a lovely glass. My wifes drink was in a straight skinny glass with a couple of pieces of ice. My drink tasted like biting into a lemon and I had to bring it back to ask the bar girl to try do something with it. She put some kind of syrup in it to sweeten it but it still was not great. My wife's drink just tasted like pineapple. I had another point and my wife had a diet Sprite, that turned out not to be diet. Overall the place and music was great, but the drink was not great. Hopefully we will get to see Jim Brown somewhere else as he is worth seeing.

3rd time in Stalis but first time coming here, absolutely amazing food! Great value for money and lovely staff. The cocktails are amazing, especially Mudslide, absolutely gorgeous! I wasn’t feeling great and asked my partner to come and ask if I could get a chicken ceaser salad wrap to takeaway, the kitchen was closed but they made me it regardless which was so lovely of them!! 100% recommend and we will definitely be back when we next visit😊

We visited there few times. Free sunbeds but despite that food at the bar was not expensive maybe drinks little but all together total price reasonable. Foods we ate there was allrigh and service was fine too. It was the best beach place what we found.

Came here by the off chance and wasn't disappointed the staff are super super friendly and the food if there was a way to give them 10 stars I would.I would highly recommend this bar if not for food but for the service you get right on the beach front and do sunbeds during the day also best bar in Stallis hands down many thanks to the team 👍👍👍

This was our second year visiting this pub and we love it! The staff remembered us from the year before and the food was just as good as last year. New York Beach Club in Hersonissos, Crete has been a popular beachfront destination for 30 years. It offers a vibrant atmosphere with a bar serving snacks and sun loungers during the day, and transforms into a high-energy nightclub at night. The club's open-air setting overlooking the ocean provides a unique party experience from sunset to sunrise. Frequented by young tourists, it features music curated by local DJs and is known for its lively dance scene.
The place has been recommended to us by someone at the beach and we wanted to give it a try. The place is very close to the dock, has very good music and has a mini terrace almost on the sand on the beach. I have broken the glass of drink in the photo, spilling the entire drink unfortunately but the server was really really nice and brought me a brand new one! You can see the dock lights and the boardwalk lights at night, great atmosphere and service.
Luiza — Google review
Beautiful nightclub. About average drink prices but my only complaint is that their tourists are their priority and not the local people, even then, I've caught the staff insulting the tourists in greek who were drinking minding their own business and having fun.... The toilets are as dirty as anyone would expect and in terrible condition too after midnight. One of the extra benefits this club has to offer though are the seats on the beach.
Alexandros — Google review
+ Good atmosphere, not bad music , beautiful view & really for lounge and chill out . - small choice for wine. price for wine so strict , I think it can be like ( 15,20,25,30,35 €......) they are not giving chance at all with prices , no appetizer or finger food at night. music should change with the atmosphere and time (6 to 9 lounge or chill) (9 to 11 house ) and after progressive house or the style of the bar ........ But in General great place and serving good 😊

The view and staff really amazing. For two sun beds and umbrella paid 10 eur, laid first line next to the sea. But beach very small, only one line fits there. We were disappointed about food, small dishes, prices medium, drinks expensive. Beef burger had very very small meat

Slainte Irish Pub offers an authentic Irish pub experience with a laid-back atmosphere. The place is known for its live music performances, creating a great ambiance for visitors. The dark interior adds to the charm, especially when enjoying the talented guitarists who can make their instruments "talk." Additionally, it's a great spot to catch football matches on multiple TVs. While drinks other than beer may be pricey, the friendly service and lively atmosphere make it worth a visit.
We stayed here for our honeymoon 26 years ago.We returned this week to see the pub. George an mama Vangalin both came down to met with us. They spent so much of there time speaking with us . It was so lovely after all those years. We wish you well.

Went to the Slainte to see some live music while on holiday with my wife last week. The place is a bit dark inside, but this only added to the atmosphere for the music. There was a guitarists playing rock music, he was so amazing. He could almost make the guitar talk. Finished of the night by playing a classical piece, which was outstanding. Should be playing to full houses. The women looking after the drinks was very good and friendly. Unfortunately there was not many people there so the atmosphere was just OK. I would recommend going to see the guitarists as he is worth going out of your way to see.

Pleasure Beach Club Restaurant, located near Malia, offers a relaxing beach experience with comfortable sunbeds available for day-long bookings. Despite occasional crowding, there's ample space around the bar to walk, play, or socialize. The restaurant boasts a great location with stunning views and friendly staff. The well-presented food is reasonably priced. Additionally, visitors can rent sunbeds by the beach for a nominal fee and take advantage of convenient parking nearby.
My wife and I were here a couple weeks ago. Just trying to get caught up. This was a discovery when looking for some relaxing beaches to hit up on our last two days of our trip. Location was great. No complaints. The chairs face the water but the sun is there all day. You just need to turn your chairs a bit. We shared a club sandwich which was perfect. Just enough food and did the trick for us. The prices we’re right and we had a couple drinks. There is an island you can swim out to if you wanted too. There were washrooms and change rooms and parking if you drove there like we did which was very handy. I put service as four star because it started well and then slowed down and the atmosphere as four stars because there was no music down on the beach. Not even speakers at the edge of the deck facing the beach which would have made it more fun.

We had a nice stay for a day. We tried Nisos the day before, but that turned out terrible. I think the vibe here is better. For starters this beach club picks up the phone and gives a great personal welcome. We could pick beds and had a big bed and 3 normale beds for 80,-. After that minum spend is 100,-. The bar looks really nice with levels and plants. Different tabels, boots and beds. We had a good lunch. Garlic bread, club sandwich chicken, haloumi, milkshakes. All nice, and good price & quality. Would not give 4 stars for the food alone since then i'd like it to be warm and a bit better. Read a couple of times how great it was, but it's just good imho. I had a so so Pina colada and a good Aperol spritz, i did not like the rose house wine. Although the karaf was pretty. The beach is small and pretty full of beds, but still nice. The water is beautiful and shallow. The service is good and they check on you regularly with a smile. The crowd is a mix of relaxed and Instagrammy, see and be seen, and don't be surprised if someone decides that their music is better then the bar's and pulls out a speaker box. We als had dinner there, which was not that great. Our table was really nice, but the gyros was salty. The pasta ok, the burger ok. But all and all we'd rather had dinner elsewhere. Especially because half of us got food, and then the other half needed to wait 25 minutes 😔 The food only came because we checked ourselves and the service on that level wasnt that good as on the beach. We stayed for the sunset which was beautiful!
Jaspert B — Google review

Nice place right in the beach. Illegally demanded cash, I didn’t have so they tried to get me to use my credit card at their ATM. The only card I have on the beach doesn't do that. Now forced to wait 20 minutes while they "find a 4th staff member who can operate the card machine".... Also they open the bar at 8am but no breakfast until 10am. Seems odd but since we came for breakfast we'll be headed someplace else. The old guy setting up the beach chairs was really nice. Rest of the staff not so much.

Tucked away from the main dining spots, 'Romantic Corner' offers a delightful experience with its delicious food, friendly service, and stunning views. The mixed fish dish comes highly recommended. While some visitors didn't dine there, they praised the fantastic setting. The drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Although some found the food to be average, others raved about the grilled fresh fish and seafood options.
Lovely restaurant in the quieter part of Stalis, situated in a beautiful location next to the sea. Great food, service was a bit hit or miss but think that was down to it being so busy. Definitely worth a visit

Amazing quality in every dish! I’ve been here with my family three times, and each visit has been a delight. We always try something new, but the sea bass and shrimp pasta deserve a special mention – absolutely outstanding. If you’re in the area, this is a fantastic place to spend an evening. A few tips: For a family of four, arriving without a reservation after 6:30 pm can be tricky, so booking ahead is a good idea. Try to get a table as close to the seaside as possible – it not only offers the best view, but also keeps you away from cigarette smoke drifting over from less considerate diners, ensuring you can fully enjoy the fine dining experience.

A Hidden Gem in Stalida – A True Romantic Corner! From the moment we arrived at Romantic Corner, we were welcomed with the kind of warmth and friendliness that instantly makes you feel at home. The people here are truly exceptional – genuinely kind, incredibly attentive, and always ready with a smile or a helpful recommendation. The setting is simply breathtaking: perched above the beautiful bay of Stalida, this place offers one of the most spectacular views you can imagine. Whether you're enjoying a quiet lunch or a romantic dinner, the view adds something truly magical to the experience. And then – the food! Wonderfully fresh, authentically Greek, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was a celebration of local ingredients and tradition, served with care and passion. If you’re looking for an unforgettable spot with heart, soul, and a view to remember, Romantic Corner is the place. We left with full hearts and full stomachs – and we can’t wait to come back!

Our evening at “Romantic Corner” was exceptional from the very first interaction. We booked our table over the phone and were immediately impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find that they had reserved a perfect table for us right by the sea, offering breathtaking views and a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. The highlight of our meal was the spectacular sea bream, cooked to perfection with a deliciously crisp skin and tender, flavourful flesh. It was accompanied by a fresh and vibrant Greek salad, with ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumber, and tangy feta, and some delightful garlic bread that was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, we indulged in a homemade baklava. The pastry was flaky and rich with honey and nuts, and it was served with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream that balanced the sweetness beautifully. Overall, our dinner at “Romantic Corner” was a memorable experience, thanks to the stunning location, the exquisite food, and the impeccable service. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a special and romantic dining experience.

A beautiful spot at the water with delicious food. I can’t say a bad word about this place. The food is the best in stalida, the service is friendly and attentive. For me it‘s one of the last spots where the cretan soul is still alive. If you want to enjoy the cretan hospitality and feeling you have to came here. Additional to the fresh food, drinks and view.

NEMO Beach Bar, situated near the popular Malia Beach in Stalis, is a small yet renowned spot known for its wide selection of special cocktails and daily drink specials. Visitors praise the friendly staff who provide excellent customer service, going above and beyond to ensure a relaxing experience on the beach. The bar offers a cozy atmosphere with good music and shishas, making it an ideal place to unwind while enjoying great drinks.
We went here for a nice cocktail, and it did not disappoint. They gave us some complimentary nut mix along with our drinks. Plenty of choices for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, crafted and flavoured amazingly. The music is quite loud, but that is to be expected; it's that type of bar. They also have a mini-golf course that is free for customers. We haven't tried it, but it looked quite fun.

Nice place for lunch or for a drink The food was simple and good. One of the best tzatziki I have eaten in Greece ++ And you can play mini golf downstairs between the restaurant and the beach !
Audrey T — Google review
The beach club is nice, clean and having calm sea (not really windy). The service is fast and they’re kind. Really like the cocktail! Advise to go there if you’re staying close. Only the car parking is a bit complicated, but you can find free places in the upper street. The sunbeds and umbrella costs 14 euro for 2 people.
Derya K — Google review
Without question the best bar in Stalis. Delicious food, amazing cocktails, fantastic atmosphere and outstanding decoration. You can even play mini golf for free whilst you enjoy your drink. But above all else the staff are all fantastic, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back when staying in Stalis again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mitchell T — Google review
An all round good day out spent here. Some sunbeds had a mattress type base, others are what I’d call a standard lounger. The beach was very clean and each set of loungers had a mini bin for rubbish. The service and food were really good despite being quite busy. The facilities were clean and there is somewhere to get changed if required. As a bonus, there’s also a crazy golf area for the kiddies in front of the bar area. I’d definitely come back here when I visit Stalida again (Hopefully the sea will be a bit calmer next time)

This fantastic place is one of the best in the area and one of our favorites. The staff is absolutely amazing, the best, very friendly and attentive and they all speak perfect English. They serve delicious food and perfect top quality cocktails. Very affordable prices too. And their beach chairs and beach service are also amazing. We had an amazing time here and we really recommend this place, you will love it.

I had the pleasure of visiting this bar recently, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great mix of casual and cozy vibes. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we felt right at home from the moment we walked in. What really stood out, though, was the food. It’s not just your typical bar snacks – the menu is thoughtfully curated with a variety of mouthwatering dishes. From savory appetizers to hearty mains, every item we tried was full of flavor and expertly prepared. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was spot on.

Disappointing. Arrived just before 3 to be told couldn't get English breakfast even though it was shown as served until 3. It was for a child as well so marked as not family friendly. Unusual as most places go out of there way when a child is involved. Went elsewhere as that level of service is a real no when on holiday.

Star Beach is a sprawling outdoor complex that offers a family-friendly atmosphere and features a water park. The area includes pools with sun beds, a sandy beach with bungee jumping, and the option to enjoy international DJs' music while dancing in the sand or splashing in the pool at night. Even if you're not staying at the Star Beach Resort, you can access the pools, beach, and playground for free. Additionally, there are multiple food and drink options available on-site.
My family and i visited the area (did not live here) It is not far from the center of town. It is worth to visit for relaxation. It is a great place to take children. It was free to use the pools and playgrounds. And the Kids pool was not deep which is nice when you have a 1 year old. All in all a must visit. The food was not great, but for us it didnt matter.
Mark T — Google review
Here are some practical tips for visiting Star Beach in Crete: Best Time to Visit: If you want to avoid the crowds, visit early in the morning or late afternoon. The beach can get packed, especially during peak tourist season (July-August). Parking: There's free parking available, but it can fill up quickly. Arrive early to secure a spot, or consider taking a taxi if you're staying nearby. Family-Friendly: Star Beach is ideal for families. It has shallow waters, water slides, and a dedicated kids' area. Keep an eye on the kids, as it can get crowded, but they’ll love the activities. Water Sports and Activities: Star Beach is known for its water sports, including jet skiing, parasailing, and banana boats. If you’re into adrenaline-pumping activities, this is the place. Prices can vary, so it’s worth checking multiple vendors for deals. Party Scene: If you’re into beach parties, Star Beach is famous for its vibrant party scene. DJs start playing in the afternoon, and it can get wild. Perfect for a day of fun, but if you’re after peace and quiet, this might not be your scene. Food and Drinks: The beach has several bars and restaurants offering a range of options from fast food to more substantial meals. Prices are generally reasonable, but you can save by bringing your own snacks and drinks. Sunbeds and Umbrellas: These are available for rent, but they can be pricey, especially near the water. Consider bringing your own beach mat and umbrella if you’re on a budget. Safety: The beach is generally safe, with lifeguards on duty. However, keep an eye on your belongings, especially during peak times, as it can get busy. Explore Nearby Areas: If you want a change of pace, the town of Hersonissos is nearby with more beaches, shops, and dining options. A short walk can also take you to quieter spots along the coast. Accommodations: If you love the vibe at Star Beach, consider staying at the nearby Star Beach Village & Waterpark. It’s convenient, especially if you plan to spend a lot of time at the beach. These tips should help you make the most of your visit to Star Beach, whether you're there for relaxation or excitement!

Managed to walk into this resort with out any issues even tho I wasn't a customer, seems like butlins in Crete, it was probably OK for the price but looking tired in places, bit more of an adult vibe to some areas, looks like they are building a new water park at some point, couldn't comment on the rest as stayed at Nana golden beach resort for my trip (defo worth a look if budget meets it)
Pete C — Google review
There's an adult only techno party till early evening in the middle of the resort with terrible/loud music (wouldn't mind so much if the tunes were any good!) Thought not we'd booked 18-30s by mistake! Not suitable for families. Post a levels would prob be fun Also our room v noisy backed onto a good kart track open till 11pm (pic is view from hotel balcony)
Judy G — Google review
Beach was average, used twice and had no charge but then used a third time and got charged. Seems unfair considering our hotel has a free bus to it
Shanyn — Google review
If you are not a guest at the Star Beach Resort, you can still enter the Star Beach area and use the pools, the beach and the playground free of charge. You can pay 5€/day for a standard cot, parasols cost 4€/day. (10/2023) There are 3 pools with slides and other entertainment for children and they can all be used for free. There are also 7 slides for age 10 and up. They cost 10€/day. There are also multiple food and drink joints throughout the area. I didn't try the food though. During the offseason (October) there were always cots available. The area is clean and well kept.

What a wondeful welcome as always from Thannasis and Maria. This bar has something very special and as a solo traveller I feel looked after, nothing is too much trouble. The view is perfect, as are the iced frappes, and the sunbeds, the comfiest I have ever lay on and free too as long as you purchase food and drinks. The food also is excellent with a wide range of options and Maria is always happy to cook what you want. I have so much love for this couple and this bar, until next year 😍

You know Cheers bar? Well that's what Babel is to us. Warm welcome, get yourself to the beach or bar straight away. Swim, order spag bol, cheeseburger or cold plate. Cold beer, frappe or juice. Sit back read a book or talk to Thanasis about the state of things. Fantastic playlist, which takes hours to create over winter. Maria, well, you just need to ask. Something different to the menu? Taxi? Towel? Celebrating a birthday? Maria is always cooking a sweet for customers, which is always gorgeous. Facilities clean Sunbeds free Quiz, football, UK TV Wheelchair/pram access not bad! Why go anywhere else?

This was a fantastic find whilst in Stalis. Only stumbled upon it by accident when i spotted a craft beers on a sign whilst walking along the beach. Lovely picturesque setting by night inside the bar looking out to sea and fantastic beach service on the free sunbeds during the day getting served locally brewed craft beer in a real glass whilst the sea touches your toes. Great cocktails also available along with plenty wines and spirits. Don't miss out on happy hour at night for 2 for 1 cocktails. Nikos along with the other guy who run the bar (apologies for forgetting his name) are both welcoming and friendly. We got invited to an authentic Greek night they had on which was one of the highlights of our holiday. It hasn't been open long but this bar will definitely be a big success. Great romantic setting for couples by night. Bit tricky to spot the entrance from the road the first time you go but once you've found it then 100% you'll go back again and again.
