Good place for a drink. Some evenings there's live music (I believe that you need to check the FB page). Don't be surprised if tourists are expected to pay a (post) entrance fee when there's live music, when locals appear to get in for free. C'est la vie.
Nice place on the beach. Unfortunately there was a plague of painfully biting Black flies in Balchik after rains...

Nice location right on the beach sand. Several different sitting types for all preferences. The place is self-service. Offers drinks, cocktails and coffee products. The only wish I had was for the music to be set at a lower volume and to be more relaxing instead of the beat rhymes they play. I think that would be more suitable for a nice relaxed evening on the beach

I wanted to sit near the railing with a direct sea view, but one of the waiters said that it was only allowed for groups of more than two people, even though I saw many couples sitting there. It felt a bit unfair, but it's okay.
I decided to try this restaurant because it has a good rating on Google, and the prices seemed comparable to other restaurants. The waiters were friendly and responsive. The food was served in about 15 minutes, and the taste was decent and enjoyable, especially considering the price and the view.
If you are a vegan at the seaside- this is the place! They offer a salad with Delishu (the best cashew cheese) and a few vegan main dishes. The service is great, the drinks are delicious and the food is good. And you can sit next to the sea. It’s perfect (for a non vegan restauran). The non vegans were very happy with their food as well.
We are coming to this restaurant since 4 years, but this year was not like before.
The couches had cat hair - I love cats, but I prefer to not sit where there is cat hair.
Also the tableclothes were dirty - tomato sous, other kind of food - as suggestion, use papers and not tablecloths as for sure is impossible to wash them after each customer.
The food was not so tasty like until last year.

Had an amazing summer dinner with my family at El Sinpatico! The new sea platter was packed with fresh shrimp, scallops, and crispy calamari. My margarita was perfect, tangy with a salty rim. The decor feels like a sunny Mediterranean getaway with warm wood and rustic charm. The retractable sea terrace made our sunset meal unforgettable. Our server, Mira, was so friendly and awesome with the kids. Can’t wait to return
A terrace where you feel very good. Good food, fast and attentive service, very attractive view. We eat here daily without feeling the need to want to try something else. Friendly waiters. They know several languages, and Romanian is very good conversationally. If you're a loyal customer, you're treated appropriately. The prices are ok and correct.

Staff are either great or do not care. Food is definitely over priced for the area, and the quality mediocre. Great location though.
Chicken was great, location was great. The only drawback was that the pizza we had was mid, but I'm sure the other plates are good.

A lovely place to take rest and have delicious food after the long walk at the botany garden. I personally ordered the burrata salad and it was marvellous - very fresh and tasty peeled tomatoes with grilled zucchini, rucola, creamy burrata cheese... it was the most delicious salad I had tasted in a while. Definitely would recommend eating there.
Excellent food and service! Everything was great, including the decor, with many flowers and plants. Music was relaxing when we went in the afternoon.

I strongly recommend this restaurant! We got fritto misto, homebread with cheese and garlic and it was amazing! We also got Bulgarian beer at draught and the best frappe I have ever had in my life! Very nice, welcoming staff as well! We will be back for sure ❤️

The place is magnificent as it has a marvelous view over the harbor. The food is good, but it could be better. The menu is rich but our choices weren’t what we expected.
We liked pizza, but the pasta was too boiled and it didn’t had taste. The fried calamari were overcooked and to dried.
The food is not extraordinary, it looks pretty good, but it`s not tasty. Or at least what we ordered - the pasta disappointed me sooo much - the most basic and tasteless.
I went twice to make sure and order something else every time, but the second time I was even more disappointed - I asked for milk for my coffee and they added it to my bill. I asked for a little slice of lemon and some red pepper flakes - they were added to the bill!! Really, I asked for this because the food had no taste. They brought us a bowl of chili flakes from which I took a single small teaspoon (how much can you add to a plate?!) and they put on the bill every single thing. Anyway...
Very disappointing because on the first day I could have said that the service was ok, but the restaurant wants to be a bit more refined/exquisite, but we ate much better, cheaper and tasty at a tavern that looks super simple.
Too bad, this place promises a lot, the view and the music are actually great. Please pay attention to your customers! they really are coming there for the atmosphere - including the food and the service.

This restaurant used to be our favorite in Balchik. The terrace and the view are beautiful and the food used to be very good as well. This year we had a greatest disappointment. First we realized that the prices went up surely twice since last summer. The quality of the food unfortunately really went down. But the most disappointing was the service. Our waiter ( he called himself Slavek) was very impatient and rude. If you didn’t get what he said and asked to repeat- he got extremely irritated and really raised his voice, which was completely unacceptable. We went to Hemingway numerous times during last 12 years, celebrated birthdays here with a big group of 20 people. But this will not happen again. Terrible pity.
Restaurant with a nice harbour view, friendly staff and lots of menu options. Order arrived quite quickly. Ordered a sea food pizza which wasn't very bad, but wasn't very good also. Very dry and not much sea food on it, expected mussels but there were only some surimi rings. Overall it is worth a visit for probably the best view over the harbour.

The best restaurant in Balchik! I mean it! Don't loose your time looking for another one. Just come to Veroni! The food is delicious, big portions, a lot of tables, very kind staff, clean (both the restaurant and the toilets), a small playground for kids, really affordable prices. 10 starts out of 5! In the summer season I recommend to call for a reservation, especially if you are more than 4 people. I've eaten here a lot of times, every single time it was delicious. Truly recommend it! Can't wait to eat here again!

We were out of season in Golden Sands and Balchik, and was not easy to find a decent place, this looked good, we also asked the staff in Balchik botanical garden and they recommended this, so we went and it was a great decision!
Good menu for any tasty (we have a vegetarian and I don't eat beef, my husband eats everything).
The lemonade was too sweet and they put more has water without any problem, staff was nice, food tasty, service good and fast. We were very content with our choice, and we're so full, that didn't need any dinner that day.
If you are looking for dinner in an easy going and relaxing restaurant, and the dishes and dessert won't be sorry at all, then, Veroni is definately for you.
The vinilla ice cream served with blueberry jam is surely for all seasons.
The blueberry jam that is with a mild bitter sweet taste. Together with booming vinilla and pistachio, it is very well balanced.

I very there together with my 5 years old son. Ordered pepperoni pizza and spaghetti with carbonara and cream cheese. Half liter red wine and 2 apple juice. Total 60 bgn. The spaghetti was homemade and the dish was very delicious. The pizza was also good. My son had also great fun at the playground. A perfect last evening.
Pleasant atmosphere, friendly personnel, chill music. Fabulous pita with garlic. Pulled veal on mashed potatoes was very good, grilled veggies were well done, but the teriyaki pork was meh, you can skip that one.
The waiter spoke in our language and this was amazing for us.The meal was very good and very soon served. I highly recomand this location .

Absolutely amazing ! We didn't had a reservation ,but fortunately we found a table .The food here was top notch , fresh , tasty and really big portions for 1 person. The staff, they are very young , they were so careful and mannered and they made sure everything was okay ! Kudos to the chef and the team. I highly recommend eating here if you're looking for tasty food , decent prices prices and waiters that actually do their job! I would definitely give the boys a raise on their paycheck !

We visited the restaurant without reservation and luckily we got a table at the top near the entrance which was great as there was 8 of us and the children can get a bit loud. we ordered drinks first with non alcohol cocktails for the children. These were not on the menu but the waitress agreed they could make them. We had chicken lives with onions to start which were Delicious. My son had small octopus with garlic and olives. Very nice too. We all chose steak and everyone agreed they were great. Tender and medium raw. They can with chips, salad and onion rings. We had various sauces such as Diane and peppercorn. We ordered two rib-eyes steak which they really enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable for the portion size. The child steak was well big enough for my son. The chips were homemade and very tasty. Service was very good with friendly helpful staff. If your going to go it may be best to ring and book a table. We were lucky we got to stay.

The food is brilliant! Congratulations for the kitchen! I have seen 5-star and 1-star reviews for this restaurant, but in my opinion, the variation is too big. I am also in the field, therefore I try to explain as best as I can. It is true that the service has a big problem - we waited exactly 1 hour to receive the food but 😉 it was ok because we had drinks and anyway we were relaxed, being on our third evening in Balcic. All in all... the food deserves 5 stars, the atmosphere (very nice interior restaurant and terrace plus good ambiental music) 5 stars, the service needs help🫣 because they are somehow overwhelmed by the situation even when the restaurant is not at maximum capacity .

Exquisite new restaurant in Balchik. We know the food from 5 points restaurant Bansko. However here the menu is updated with sea proposals. The terrace is very nice, the main building up is also very modern and beautiful. The food is a rare find for the Bulgarian culinary scene - memorable fish soup with great spicy twist. Tarama very tasty and good portion. We ordered as well our favorite Vitaminosa salad (very fresh) and tagliatelle with beef for our child. I strongly recommend this place and admirations for the chef!
Some dishes may arrive not that fast, but the taste is really worth visiting the place, if you are looking for great taste and fresh ingredients!
We love this restaurant! Both food and service are great! They offer very good wines for the food and a children menu (that's rear in Balchik).
Regardless if you are looking for a place to get a refreshing hot beverage, or a meal and especially if you have a craving for a real chef made desert, this is a place you should consider. If you choose the outdoor terrace you will enjoy panoramic view over the bay and the surrounding hills. Take the time to stop by.

Place is pretty normal restaurant with lots of tables, we had a long wait to get food, homemade lemonade was slightly warm.
Prices were really cheap so definetely worth to try, easy to find. Most tables are hidden from the sun.
The food is good, I recommend you order “traditional” cuisine. The prices are great for the area and the service is nice.
We only ate once and it was enough. It wasn’t quite a memorable experience.
The food is… eatable, but that’s all. Too cooked, no taste.
I didn’t like that the place wasn’t clean at all, the toilet was also lousy. We won’t return too soon.
The servant was “angry” from the start, frowning at us while taking the order. The pizza is the worst pizza i ever ate in my life and is not a joke, the frozen pizza you get from the store and make it in the microwave is better… since when a marggerita has pickles in it? The dough is one of the worst doughs i ever tasted, super salty and sour.
They make better and cheaper pizza on the black sea shore restaurant.. we came here from the sea to maybe find a better pricing and better taste at least, but i found none, horrible expirence.
Not a bad place, decent prices. The problem were the swarm of flies constantly attacking the food, so trying to protect it was a whole experience! Some fly traps could be useful. Service was quick, our server wasn't into smiling, but the job was still done well enough. The cats around were a great entertainment
I would give 4,5 stars if I could. The place is nice, not pretentious, with a calm environment. Staff is nice, polite and adequate. Food is good, served fast. Prices are extremely moderate. Would recommend for fast and yummy meal.
You have to prepare for eating one at the time. First came the salad. After 15 minutes came my wifes order, chicken with fries. After an additional 20 minutes came my order. By that time my wifes food was cold. Worst experience in our vacation so far

We liked it - great variety of seafood, the view to the seaside, the quality of service, and the good products. The mix of seafood that I ordered contained only two shrimps, the squids were more, but not the best part of the squid - mostly from the end, which was dissatisfying and disappointing. Of course, the major part contained mussels. However, I enjoyed the salad very much. The prices were a bit high, which is normal for
the region. Admirations to the waiter who behaved very professionally.

The seafood salad is bland but still over dressed. Stick with the shopska salad if you need salad.
The fish soup is just okay as were the muscles.
The location is great , but the facilities are lacking. Poorly maintained toilets with no soap and hand driers that don’t work. This is not a good combination for a seafood restaurant.
The service is super fast and inside is nice and clean.
They have a wide variety of seafood dishes but also chicken and beef.
I would recommend the seafood salad and the mediteranean grill mix.

A good place after all, 200 m away from the parking place, a few meters away from the sea. The food is ok, not so fabulous. A little bit pricy for the area. My T-bone was not medium rare as I asked for. The terrace has a scenic view of the seaside.
Totally disappointed by the way the staff treated us. The food was average, but the problem was that we found a spider in one of the dishes we ordered and, after we showed it to the waiter, she did not even react at all! We’ve asked them not to include it on the bill but they’ve put it and they made us pay for it. After we’ve asked to talk to the manager, some other 2 waiters came and told us to pay the bill and informed us that the manager is too busy for talking to us. In the end, the waiter offered to pay the dish for us, which wasn’t what we wanted, but demonstrates the fact that the management of this restaurant is out of this world!
We had a lovely lunch there. I had the calamari and they were delicious. Not the cheapest place, but definitely good. The lemonade was on the expensive side. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall we would definitely recommend it. It also has a lovely view.

Everything started fine, I was eager for my choice of "bags of chicken meat". But after a few bites I got a metallic string in my mouth (see pictures). I showed this to the waiter and he apologized, but I was afraid to eat more, safely. I think they should be more careful because this is dangerous.
This is a place where you have to eat if you come to Balchik. In fact, is an entire experience, with their live music, their attention to details and the stunning location.

I had the pleasure of spending some time at Makai Beach, and it truly exceeded my expectations! The sea water is crystal clear, and the beach itself is absolutely stunning. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Balchik. The sand is soft, and the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful.
What really stood out to me, though, was the level of professionalism and care from the lifeguards. Not only are they highly skilled and always keeping an eye out for safety, but they’re also incredibly polite and friendly. They go above and beyond by interacting with guests, especially the kids, and keeping everyone entertained. Whether it's playing volleyball, organizing fun activities, or even helping out with paddle boards, their energy and enthusiasm really make the beach experience special.
Another highlight is the beach bar – it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a refreshing drink while enjoying the view. The staff is mainly made up of young people who really go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and help you chill out. They create such a laid-back vibe, making it even more relaxing to spend time at the beach.
I can't recommend Makai Beach enough – it's a little slice of paradise. Whether you're looking to swim, relax, or join in on some fun activities, this beach has it all!

B52 and Arabian Job shots were great. Spritz was ok and Mai Tai was asked if it could have grenadine in to get its red colour. Was told it could only be made as per listed on the menu. Drink was only ok and nothing special.
Staff looked miserable and not happy at all. Didn’t stay long and went elsewhere after paying. Also discovered there is a 3 leva charge for paying by bank card which isn’t notified to you

Avoid at all costs. The staff is extremely rude.
The guy in charge of the sunbeds never gives receipts. There were three of us, yet we only received one or two wristbands - never one for each person - and his attitude was consistently arrogant and disrespectful. After a few days, we asked for a receipt, which seemed to annoy him, apparently because we disrupted his little tax evasion scheme. About 30 minutes after we paid, he came over to my friend and demanded an extra payment because she was “using the shade” from a neighboring umbrella. Everyone on the beach was moving their sunbeds around for shade or sun, but he singled us out just to retaliate.
The bar staff is equally bad, completely indifferent and unprofessional. I went to order a coffee; there were three of us waiting in line and three employees behind the bar, but only one of them was actually working. The other two were just standing around, laughing, and ignoring us.
Another awful experience happened at their restaurant. We went there two evenings in a row. On the second night, we asked if we could sit down, they said yes and brought us menus. Then a guy came over and started shouting at us to leave because we didn’t have a reservation for that table. We politely asked if there was another table available, and he just kept yelling, “NO, YOU DON’T HAVE A RESERVATION, THIS IS A RESERVATION-ONLY RESTAURANT!”, even though we had been there the night before without one. We told him we understood but that it was really unprofessional to yell at customers, and rather than apologize or clarify, he sarcastically said “Sorry, come back tomorrow” in the most dismissive tone possible.
This was by far the worst experience we've had with any beach bar or restaurant. We’ll never return to Bulgaria.

Service was fine, but the food was absolutely awful. The pita bread actually smelled of mold — completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one charging these prices. Even the souvlaki was bland and dry, with zero seasoning or freshness.

The food and service are good. Prices are decent (about 70 leva for a family of four: wine, sparkling water, 3 x mussels, 2 x french fries). The view is also very nice.
But if you are into mussels, just ask for "mussels with ouzo or pernod". It's not on the menu, but if you are nice:) the chef will make them. Oh, you will love them!

Disappointing and unhygienic
The food was mostly fried, greasy, and lacking in freshness or flavor. It felt like very little effort was put into the menu or preparation.
What really ruined the experience was the presence of cats constantly walking around and under the tables. This did not feel hygienic at all, especially in a place where people are eating.
Overall, not a place I’d recommend. There are much better dining options in Balchik.
This place was the right choice for an afternoon break. The view, dishes and the polite waitress made our day. Also the music well accompanied the entire atmosfere. Thank you!

Me and my partner ordered quite a few stuff and everything was great. I highly recommend the homemade lemonade, mine was with raspberries! As for food I had "Popcheta", very fresh and is a fish from black sea. I also had beef tongue and "Shopska" salad. All typical Bulgarian dishes. (that kind of fish is fried and must be eaten so due to the very high amount of bones)
If there's an ingredient that you'd like to not have in your dish, don't be shy to ask for it, for example for us it was mushrooms. And it worked just great! Thank you so much for the consideration.

We are a family of three: two adults and a child that eats like an adult. We each had a main course- chicken schnitzel and pork kavarma, and also dessert: home made ice-cream and cheesecake. They were served in 15 minutes, they tasted very good and the portions were enough. Main course and dessert: 22-27 leva each. Even if outside is was like 32°C, hot and humid, we were cooled by the sea breeze as we sat outside, where we could see the Balchik and the beach....
I had lunch where I served chicken filet with fried zucchini and garlic sauce and for dinner schnitzel with fries and as a desert creme brûlée. Everything was delicious, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
The food is very good with plenty of options. The staff is so kind and the view is lovely. Must visit this restaurant in Balchik to escape the crowded tourist places where you won’t eat this good.

Restaurant White House is a charming and comfortable vacation rental located in Balchik. The property, which was the family home of the hosts, provides a cozy atmosphere with modern amenities. The DJ on Saturday evening, May 6 2023 was the worst DJ I've ever met, from wherever I travelled. At 02:00 I asked him to play a song for our friend who was celebrating her bachelorette party, he took a picture of the song I showed him on my phone and told us that he would play it. In the meantime, about 10 people went to him and asked for other songs, and he played them, including giving the microphone to a girl to make a dedication. We waited for the song until 03:40. Seeing that he has no intention of playing it, we left the club disappointed. We felt like outsiders, just because we didn't speak Bulgarian or something. Also, this DJ didn't feel the audience at all. He didn't know how to notice when people were having fun and when they weren't, as proof, already at 03:00, the club was more than half empty.
Regarding the hookah, someone in the previous reviews said that it is the best in town. Either the boys don't know how to start it, or the aroma is very bad. I was looking at the other hookah tables, and not only ours, but all of them in the club were barely making smoke.
I give the 2 stars for the person I spoke with on Messenger who booked us a table and for the bartender who treated us amazing.
