The Lakeside Brasserie at De Vere Cotswold Water Park offers a relaxed dining experience with a wide range of international dishes in a beautiful lakeside setting. The restaurant features an airy all-day spot with a terrace overlooking the lake, making it an ideal place to enjoy unfussy yet delicious meals.
Lovely place to visit, a great view of the lake, The food is excellent, as is the staff. Our waitress was amazing, especially as it was her first day!

it’s a shame I can’t give it five stars because the food was lovely. The staff were very efficient and the view was stunning but unfortunately, the dog etiquette was not okay we have been to many dog friendly restaurants this one there wasn’t any rules it’s the only dog friendly place I’ve been into where the dogs are just allowed to roam around and the owners don’t seem to have much control which did spoil the experience for us a little bit if I’m honest, so if you have a dog that normally keep on the lead in restaurants then I wouldn’t advise this bar,We went here last night with my 15 week puppy I always keep on a lead in restaurants I thought that’s what everybody did. She was sat under the table,There was another five dogs on the balcony they were all loose. Some were roaming around the tables jumping up at the tables.Barking a couple of times they came up to my puppy which was fine she’s a friendly Puppy, but I felt I couldn’t enjoy my meal because I was keeping an eye on the situation where I didn’t know the dogs. And they didn’t seem to be a lot of control with the owers.Unfortunately no one said anything and I thought maybe this is normal for the restaurant so when we finished eating,we just left.Normaly would of had a desertor a few drinks.

Great restaurant next to the lodges where we stayed. We went there twice and had lunch and breakfast, on both occasions it was delicious. You can sit outside or inside, as the weather was good we sat outside to admire the view. This place is dog friendly. Thanks to all of the staff for their hospitality and making us feel welcomed
Saroop C — Google review
Very nice pub/restaurant that clearly serves the surrounding lodges. Outside is very pretty with lovely views of the lake so was nice on a summers day. The pizza was incredible and served a decent array of beers and aside from the IPAs were decently priced. Look forward to returning!
Jordan Y — Google review
Would have loved to have given this place 5 stars as it had it all, great food, attentive staff, and the location is lovely. However, the atmosphere is somewhat disappointing. During our visit, the owner, thought it was acceptable to have a full blown online meeting on the table next to us. Kept looking over, almost as if he was showing off. Really did put a dampener on our experience. Shame really, the place has potential but the owner has a lot of learn about making his diners feel welcome, and ensuring that they had an experience to remember - for the right reasons!
Marek K — Google review
Didn't eat so can't really comment but what we see coming out from the kitchen it looked really good. Just stopped for a drink to watch the sunset... Shame about the wasp season so didn't stay to long. A nice buzz about the place so well worth a visit. Ps the Freddie Mercury tash seems very popular...
Alan K — Google review
Evening meal. We had booked. Service was very lacking. There seemed to be more people behind the bar than serving the tables so we just kept going back to the bar. Completely see why previous reviews mention the dogs it seems to be the go to place for the local folk who have yappy dogs that spend more time in handbags than being trained in any form of obedience. The food was very tasty, it would not recommend.
Jack T — Google review
Great customer service with kindly, helpful waiters who helped enrich the soothing, lakeside atmosphere of the restaurant. Chefs were able to introduce some flexibility into the menu (in my case, changing the type of cheese to better match my tastes), while still keeping the product at the highest calibre.

The Old George Inn is a charming period village coaching inn that offers a delightful experience for both locals and visitors. The establishment boasts a cozy beer garden where patrons can enjoy locally sourced British cuisine and real ales. What sets this inn apart is its dog-friendly atmosphere, with dog paintings adorning the walls, a bar filled with dog treats, and even special birthday parties for furry friends complete with sausages and custom-made cakes.
WOW!!! Fabulous roast with the choice of three meats to which you can have all three if wanted. Delicious vege and homemade Yorkshire Pudding! So yummy! Very dog friendly with shaded seating outside. Fast and friendly service with amazing food to top it off, we loved it and so did the dogs!! Will definitely be back again!!

Popped by for a quick drink on our dog walk. Dog friendly, both in and out. Order of a local pint, pint of soft drink and some pork scratchings was 11.85. The warm pork scratchings are weighed out on a Jewellers scales rather than by the cup, no prices on anything, and no drinks menu in sight. Tried to order food off of the only visible menu, the Mediterranean menu, which was on the wall, but sadly this is not available on Sundays. Please note that the bar and the restaurant operate separately. Nice shaded outdoor area. Slightly weird atmosphere inside.

We visited a couple of times, once for drinks and then food for an anniversary meal, we had our 2 granddaughters with us. This is a proper pub, with very friendly and attentive staff, especially Izzy who looked after us, great beer and an imaginative menu offering very good value. We will be back next year and hope it is the same! Fabulous pub

We had a meal one evening and liked it so much we went back the next day. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is fabulous. It's also dog-friendly. What more could you ask for?

We stayed across the street, stopped in for dinner one night. This is definitely a local drinking pub. Food was ok. The staff was wonderful. Never seems busy at the restaurant, but always sold out. An interesting phenomenon. We were the only reservation this evening.
Winton J — Google review
⸻ We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from the owners and bar staff, which made such a great first impression. The pub itself is so pleasant and inviting – it was my first visit since the refurbishment, and it looks amazing. After being shown to a spacious table that comfortably accommodated the pram, our drinks order was taken straight away. We were then given time to look through the menu, and when we were ready, our food order was taken. The service was efficient and friendly, and we didn’t have to wait long before our meals arrived. The food looked fantastic and tasted even better. The Peri Peri chicken burger was delicious, with a really juicy chicken breast, and the Parmesan and truffle fries were absolutely incredible – generous portions too! It was also nice to see that the pub serves proper coffee, so we enjoyed a couple of lattes after our meal. We couldn’t resist pudding, so we shared a lovely crumble and some brownies, both of which were spot on. Honestly, we couldn’t fault a thing – everything was excellent from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back, especially to try the Sunday roast, which the landlord tells us is highly recommended. A brilliant pub with great food and even better hospitality – highly recommended!

Subject: Feedback on Our Recent Visit I hope this message finds you well. As a frequent patron of your pub and a member of the village community, I feel compelled to share my recent experience with you, as I truly value the presence of your establishment in our area. During our visit for Sunday dinner, we encountered several challenges that detracted from what we hoped would be an enjoyable meal. The wait for our order and for the food to arrive was quite lengthy, which was disappointing. I had ordered honey-glazed Gamon, but instead received ham without the honey glaze, and it wasn't Gamon at all. The accompanying vegetables were overcooked, and we were served only three roast potatoes with minimal gravy. To add to our disappointment, there were no Yorkshire puddings available. On a positive note, I want to commend you on the Landlord beer; it was excellent and clearly well-kept, which we appreciated. However, when dessert arrived after another long wait, we found that there was no caramel ice cream left. Instead of checking with us about a replacement, we were simply given vanilla ice cream. I share this feedback not to criticize, but in the hope that it can help enhance the experience for all patrons. I believe in the potential of your pub and would love to see it thrive. Thank you for taking the time to consider my thoughts. Warm regards, Nigel Subject: Re: Feedback on Our Recent Visit Hi Thank you so much for your detailed response and for addressing our concerns. I truly appreciate the effort you put into ensuring that all guests have a good experience. I understand that timing can be tricky, especially with a large group, and I apologize for any inconvenience our late order may have caused. It’s good to know that the food is prepared fresh, and I appreciate your dedication to quality. Regarding the gammon and the portion sizes, I appreciate the clarification. I’ll keep that in mind for future visits. I also understand that cooking vegetables to everyone's preference can be challenging, and I’ll certainly take that into account next time. Thank you for noting my feedback about the ale and ice cream; it’s great to know it will be communicated with the staff. I’ll remember to mention any issues directly in the future so they can be addressed promptly. I always enjoy visiting your pub and appreciate the warm atmosphere you create for the community. Looking forward to our next visit! Best regards, Nigel

We actually visited at the end of last month for a meal with family but popped in again this evening for some drinks and were still just as pleased as the first time around. When we had a meal, we were served by Amy who was helpful and chatty with us which made the experience very pleasant. I had the falafel meal which can say was lovely flavours and the sticky toffee pudding dessert was a perfect finish too! The atmosphere this evening was lively as people were sitting inside due to the weather. The staff appeared to be very cheery and the restaurant busy. Would definitely recommend this pub to others and will be back in future.

The Crown is a charming local pub located in the picturesque village of South Cerney, nestled in the Cotswolds. This traditional hostelry offers a menu of classic pub-style dishes and a variety of real ales. The establishment also features live music, TV sports, and a bustling courtyard garden that can be accessed via Swan Yard. With its historical significance dating back to Charles II's escape from the building in 1651, The Crown exudes character and charm.
Spent a couple of hours here today for lunch, the staff were all very friendly and the whole team were working tirelessly, all doing a bit of everything. Lady (assume was the manager) was running a very efficient service. We were seated up at the back near the garden doors. Food is delicious, could see the chef cutting fresh veg as orders came in. Very reasonably priced for decent portions. Clean and tidy venue. Very impressed.

Josh was fantastic and was a charmer!! He was so help-full with our weird dietary requests as we were both starving at this point ( me and my mum) We had a vegan panini, a pie and a extra salad with a large glass of wine and tap water :) He made the visit worth while so thank you sir we had a lovely time at the pub! 🏳️‍🌈

We were doing the tourist thing in town, when my super-spouse suggested that we find a pub -- not a restaurant, not an eatery, definitely not a fast-food joint. Mike, the neighborhood security guard, recommended The Crown. Good choice. SS (a Bristol native) commented on the authenticity of her steak and ale pie more than once. I went with a more absurd choice, a Southern-fried chicken burger (I'll attach a photo) -- and it was delicious. For adult bevs, we went with a Stowford cider (for her), a Belt Driver IPA (for me), and a Hugo-something Spritzer (my memory fails on that one, but it was tasty). I'd go back!

Stumbled across The Crown looking for a place to eat, and I'm glad we decided to go in. The staff is Friendly and attentive, and the place has a great atmosphere. The food is very tasty and good portion too. We ordered Chargrilled Lamb Chops, Herb Crusted Pan Fried Salmon, and Thumb Ups for the Bacon & Chorizo Mac & Cheese, absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommended.

We had an amazing Easter Weekend 🐣 at the Bear Inn! The pub is lovely, the outdoor garden is beautiful when it’s sunny and the food was delicious! The Easter Sunday triple roast was huge, the burger super tasty but their desserts were the highlight 🤩 Special shoutout to the waitresses on that day who did an amazing job, had the best vibes, made the atmosphere feel very family like, especially the lovely Italian lady who served us the desserts! 10/10

Lovely family pub in the beautiful Cirencester. The indoor is really beautiful, very well kept and cosy. Food was delicious: i had their burger, my fiancee a fish and chips and my parents the steak. Service was attentive, friendly, the team was very well trained. Well done Bear Inn!

Popped in for a bite of lunch when visiting the area. Really nice food and atmosphere. We sat in the outside area which was dog friendly. My only criticism would be that it took a while for food to arrive but it was worth the wait x

It always helps when you visit a new place in the summertime but the outdoor garden area was really pleasant, especially with having a dog, just sat off Dyer Street was perfect for having a few beers. We waited until the main menu at 5pm and the food was amazing, they even do a dog chew menu 😃🍻

Such a lovely experience all round, the team fitted us in at the last minute by taking our pre order on the phone so we could eat before the kitchen closed. The Royal Oak South Cerney is a charming English country village pub offering traditional English meals, a variety of beverages including beer, wine, spirits, and milkshakes. The tavern provides a cozy atmosphere with garden seats for outdoor dining. Guests can enjoy delicious food options such as Sunday lunch with homemade Yorkshire puddings and real ale gravy, hunters chicken, burgers, and rump steak.
We had a great Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak. Excellent value for money too. Started with a yummy homemade scotch egg with proper runny yoke centre and homemade brown sauce. My partner had the risotto which I sampled and it tasted really nice. The risotto was also not over cooked. I had the roast with porchetta which was also very tasty. My partner had the rosemary creme brulee for desert. The house IPA was also good.

Omgoodness, what a beautiful pub 💖 We were visiting the area with family we hadn't seen for over ten years and we managed to find this absolute gem of a place. Our meal was unbelievably delicious, and the service was second to none! What amazing people and food... This really made our reunion even more special 👏🏽

Wow! Owner and staff welcoming and so friendly. We had a table for 1pm lunch in the extended restaurant. Both had longhorn steak with the saladnoise (sure thats wrong), potatoes green beans and baby broccoli. Steaks were perfect, the best meal i have had for years in a village pub. The quality and quantity of the produce was outstanding and the chef, wow, he knows his way round food and presentation. I cant praise this pub enough. Please visit, you wont regret it I'm sure.

The Royal Oak is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed — and being dog friendly was a huge bonus for us. We came for the Sunday roast and it was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, generous portions, and all the trimmings done to perfection. The food throughout was incredible, and you can tell there’s real care in the kitchen. A special mention to Janette, who made the whole experience even better with her friendly, attentive service. She made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a proper pub with amazing food, great service, and a place your dog can join you, The Royal Oak is a must-visit.
Constandinos P — Google review
My husband and I moved to South Cerney 3 years ago and have always loved the village pub vibe, taking many visitors for food and or a drink. The Royal Oak was not really the place we took people to, for a number of good reasons. The place then came under new management and I can honestly say, it is now the place we always bring people to. It is such a nice pub for many reasons. Friendly with a great atmosphere Efficient service Excellent food Plenty of staff to prevent you waiting too long for your food and drinks. Entertainment Nice garden during the good weather. The biggest compliment to the Royal Oak, is that we have decided to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary there.

Really disappointing, reading all the good reviews was hoping for a lovely Sunday dinner but was up there with worst I've had and over £20 with service charge applied to the bill. Tiny portion and poor quality.

The Greyhound is our favourite Local Pub.. Always good food, great locals and great service. Love that dogs are welcome and even have a special doggy menu! We recently booked the function room for a Family party that was fantastic, very accommodating, great food and value, would definitely recommend.

Rural Countryside inn with a reputation for good food and beer. I was staying at a Travelodge and The Greyhound was on a list of recommendations to eat. I asked where is fairly local the does good BEER and food, and was sent here. I enjoyed a Fillet Steak with Mushroom and Stilton Port Sauce off the specials board. I was nicely presented and came with a separate dish of new potatoes and perfectly cooked unseasoned vegetables.

We stopped by for an afternoon pint and a meal and were thoroughly impressed with the relaxed, efficient and friendly crew. Our meal of fish and chips was excellent and the portion was certainly generous. Having covered a number of similar pubs in the last week or so,we can say that this is a favourite and the best of the lot so far. Well done, we will be back :)

A lovely dog friendly pub with really nice food and friendly service. Dropped in here passing through with our 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks who were made a fuss of and given water. The food was very nice indeed, shame we don’t live closer, we would be regulars.

Came here on a rare midweek day off.. was not disappointed. Vast selection on tap, a good choice of 0% drinks too. Sat in the garden and had Steak Frites, Henry Burger and Loaded Fries.. between two, although one of us is heavily pregnant. Burger was delicious, an actual homemade burger cooked perfectly with a delicious IPA chutney. Steak, although a little small, was cooked with a delicious garlic & herb butter. Loaded pulled pork dirty fries.. if you try nothing else on the menu, make sure you order these, the portion size is healthy, comfortably for two, the cheese and pulled pork was throughout the entire setup, not just on top (like with most places). They had the perfect balance of salty, sweet and spicy. Reasonably priced, lovely setting, very dog friendly. Will absolutely be returning, if only to grab some dirty fries and maybe the nachos as they looked incredible too!! Didn’t take any photos because we were glutenous little pigs and forgot.. take my word, superb throughout.

We booked this pub for a Sunday lunch having never visited before and only having moved to the area fairly recently. It was an absolute winner, the Sunday roast was brilliant, lovely ingredients, great generous portions, every part of the roast was cooked well and roasted properly, meaning it was all packed full of flavour. The desserts were also excellent for all of the same reasons, and the whole lunch offered great value and quality for money. A good range of drinks though I didn't get to try many options over one lunch, sadly. The pub has a large outdoor space which looks perfect for drinks in the summer, however now that summer has passed I can't wait to go back and order a meal and drinks inside The Greyhound, its traditional cosy country pub feel with wood and stone interiors are perfect for crisp autumn days and as the winter nights draw in! Hopefully the open fires will be lit when I next visit, which will be very soon.

Great place to be. Excellent food, great service. Also the walk around the lakes helps too. We haven't been there for 10 years and it has changed alot! It's like a small food village, also outdoor shop with clothes. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Ordered to take away, was really excited to know we could do that here and buy a whole range of options. However, the food standard was terrible. I think if you can ruin a jacket potato it says a lot. (The only place I've seen that happen in hospital). The potato was so unpleasant, we only ate the insides and the tuna mayonnaise. The salad was tired and brown edged, the beans also ruined (how?) watery and the taste was very odd/horrible. I'm baffled as to how you ruin A topped jacket potato. Most of it went in the bin. I've had fish goujons and chips there before and the chips were nice, but the fish tasted off and was very dried out. My friend's burger was OK, so there's still hope. I think it's great to employ young people and students etc. but if there's no one experienced supporting them and keeping motivation and care at the forefront, you end up with poor standards. Such a shame!

I really love THE PIZZA from The Gateway Cafe!!! Service was superb- nice polite, friendly and made no problems when I asked to put jalapeno from my husband pizza on to my pizza instead. Waiting time was not long. Napkins are normal noce soft napkins not tiny brown paper - what I like. I took a stars because there were no nice place to sit - outside available table was broken. Was also windy so we went under gazebo. Inside - under a gazebo 100% not nice. I mean there are a lot of tables and chairs but it is arranged in not a very welcoming way. Tables were not clean and indoor area really need some nice touch- it is funnky, undeground atmosphere -what I get it, but was messy for me. ... but pizza and service was amazing 🍕 so truly recommend this place. Prices are ok £9 for a small pizza and £14 for big a pizza.... (for 2 small and one big pizza we paid £32, served in a take away box)- judge yourself.

Nicki M — Google review
Positive is the location and setting. Lovely to sit in or out overlooking the lake. Negatives are that the coffee is bad, very bitter, not enjoyable and whatever oat milk they use it is not good. It's a large building and is nearly always busy, so a nice atmosphere. However, this is spoilt by the music playing too loudly. Music is really not needed!

Nestled in the heart of Cirencester, The Golden Farm stands out as a vibrant pub that perfectly blends traditional charm with modern amenities. Known for its extensive selection of craft beers and wallet-friendly meals, it offers delicious dishes under £8 and hearty Sunday roasts for less than £11. This makes it an attractive spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a good meal without breaking the bank.
One of the best roasts I’ve ever had! The beef was perfectly tender and just fell apart, the roast potatoes were crispy, the gravy rich, the pork delicious, and the Yorkshire puds spot on – everything cooked to perfection. The Golden Farm isn’t just about the food either – it’s a lovely pub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and it’s a brilliant place for families. They’re always putting on great events too, which makes it feel like a real community hub. With the new management in place, they’re absolutely smashing it here. Without a doubt, one of the best pubs around – highly recommended!

Nice pub, just came here for a drink. Service was quick and it was very busy. They have a pool table and darts board in a separate room. Seems like a big local pub with a good atmosphere. They also have live bands. Overall a good experience!

Fantastic roast at The Golden Farm – beef that fell apart, crispy potatoes, and perfect Yorkshires. Friendly staff, family-friendly vibe, and the new management are doing a brilliant job. One of the best pubs around!

This pub has recently been taken over by new owners hoping to move past years of having a bad reputation and they’re doing a great job. A really lovely cosy, friendly pub just outside the centre of Cirencester, it really is worth a visit, especially for the food. The Sunday roast is genuinely exceptional. Reasonably priced large selection of drinks and the staff, led by Josh the landlord, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Also occasional live music gigs on Saturdays. Highly recommended. Hoping more of the locals will give it another chance and help build up its reputation again.

Such an amazing pub, food is lovely, staff are incredible so friendly. I love the fact that it is dog friendly. There’s karaoke, live band and djs!!! The atmosphere is lovely. Will definitely keep coming back

Recently visited this pub had a nice meal whjch was reasonably priced. Listened to a good singer in the function area ,again very good and could watch sport in the bar if you like. Finding pub was easy and there was plenty of parking . Would definately go again.

Had a fantastic evening on Saturday to see Leo Nathan at The Golden Farm. We ate there before he played and the food was delicious! The pub is huge but still manages to feel cozy, it has an open fire which I love in a pub and there is a large garden so I’m sure that’s great for summer time. The staff were so attentive and made us feel like their friends straight away. I wish I lived nearer so I could visit more often! Leo Nathan was great!! The pub has a really nice intimate area for music and it made an already great gig even better. If you haven’t visited The Golden Farm yet, then definitely do! Especially if they have a music night!

Nestled on Watermoor Road, the Bees Knees is a charming pub that has quickly become a favorite among locals. With its inviting atmosphere, it offers reasonably priced drinks and features large flat-screen TVs showcasing live Sky Sports for sports enthusiasts. The cozy log fire creates a warm ambiance during chilly evenings, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends or enjoy some quality time with well-behaved dogs by your side.
The most amazing food! Twice visited within one week. Had a great selection of the menu. Smoked meat is incredible and beyond what you can get in Cirencester town at the other pubs. We are local and will return again now we have tried. Drinks and service good, reasonably priced. Downside, the bar adjoined to the restaurant area is very “locals”, which doesn’t offend me- I’m often one in other pubs. However with how good the food is, I think the language in earshot could limit the family appeal for the pub. All in all, this is a great place to eat and very good value. By far more exciting than the normal pub grub you get in town.

After reading good reviews we decided to go here Because we love burgers 🍔 It’s Friday 19:00 we was worried about we don’t get a table because maybe it’s busy After we enter the restaurant or pub we asked table for two with food We get answer : I need to check with the chef is she/ he it’s still making food , but ok we got the table We ordered the burgers , we got them nearly one hour and the bar was not busy Ok what about the burgers it was dry like desert Like the beef patty was murdered…. Dry need knife to cut for pieces Disappointed…

Hidden Gem for Sunday Roast with Exceptional Service! Tucked away in the charming Cotswold, Bee's Knees proved to be a delightful surprise for our last-minute Sunday feast. After facing fully booked signs at other establishments, we were fortunate to snag a table here, drawn in by its promising reviews. Arriving as the first guests, we admittedly harbored some doubts about the food. Yet, those reservations swiftly dissipated with the first bite of their impeccable roasts. Each portion boasted generous servings, and the meats were expertly prepared to perfection. Accompanying side dishes were clearly thoughtfully selected, enhancing the overall experience. Not only did Bee's Knees impress with its culinary delights, but their customer service was equally outstanding. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed and attended to with genuine care and attention. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable, adding a personal touch that truly elevated our visit. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to accommodate our needs made us feel valued and appreciated as guests. Bee's Knees sets a high standard for hospitality, making it a destination worth returning to time and time again.

Under knew management but still the food is just as delicious, the staff just as friendly and the decour is beautiful. Some extra comfy seating has been added, the skittle alley turned into a sports bar and the beer garden is still a lovely sun trap. I do hope they have much success with this place. I would have added photos of the delicious burgers that we had but we ate them up far too quickly 😋

I had the most fantastic experience at Cheeky Swine Smokehouse and Grill in Cirencester. From the moment I stepped out of my car, the mouthwatering aroma of smoked meat enveloped me. As I entered the pub, the back area greeted me with a delightful outdoor space adorned with tables and a covered area, complete with smokers, perfect for both sunny and rainy days. The BBQMates reverse flow smoker, alongside the ProQ cabinet smokers, showcased the establishment's commitment to high-quality BBQ. The friendly and comfortable bar area, complete with TVs for sports enthusiasts, added to the welcoming atmosphere. Neil, the passionate and friendly landlord, truly stands out. His dedication to authentic BBQ is evident in every bite. The brisket is an absolute standout, perfectly cooked, while the pork is simply incredible. The pub's family-friendly environment and disabled access make it an ideal destination for all. Overall, Cheeky Swine Smokehouse and Grill is a hidden gem that I can't recommend enough. The combination of delectable smoked meats, inviting ambiance, and the genuine passion of the staff, especially Neil, make it a must-visit spot in Cirencester.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The food is meat based, generous portions and extremely well cooked and flavoured. We really enjoyed our meals. It's a bit out of the way but certainly well worth visiting.

We happened upon the bees knees quite by accident. Got stuck waiting for an auto repair nearby and wandered in. What a find!!! We had the roast beef and roast pork dinners. Amazing! Big fluffy Yorkshire pudding, perfectly roasted veg and meats (the crackling on the roast pork… OMG). Honestly best food I’ve had in a while. The service was super friendly and felt like we were regulars. The atmosphere felt like a neighborhood pub, so you’ll feel right at home, but the food was worthy of white tablecloths. We were both disappointed that we were in a rush and couldn’t stay for longer to enjoy our food a little more.

Pro: Great food. Con: Took 2 hrs to get our food. Con: It was freezing inside with AC since we spent hrs in total to get food Pro: They had blankets when I asked. Con: This delay caused us to take the food home instead as we lost our appetite Con: we missed our evening plans due to this, and forgot about the overstayed car parking.. Pro: I looked for the manager who took the correct steps to try to resolve their mistakes, and had a word with their staff who made the mistake. Things offered wasn't suitable but had some discount on the food. Con: Since the service was bad, I removed this. Con: We were actually sat by the stairs (enterance and till) so they walked past many times but never checked on the fact we haven't ate anything for 2hrs. Pro: desserts was nice. Con: It was a first special occasion so it was a shame it went like that for us, and my partner having to stress about something that was the restaurants control/ out of his control, and I handled the situation. Reservation was 7pm, we arrived 6:50pm. Left there 9:30-10pm.

Excellent service and delicious food. We were served quickly, the staff were polite and friendly. Special thanks to our waiter, Constantin, for his attentiveness and professionalism. The wine recommendation was spot on and perfectly matched our dishes. The only minor drawback was the noise level due to closely placed tables. Overall, a pleasant dining experience — we’ll be happy to return.

Scallops to start, Cote de Boeuf for mains and Paris-Brest and macarons to finish. All washed down with a lovely Picpoul. Perfect evening. Constantin looked after us exceptionally well, as usual. Top marks all round!
Alison W — Google review
Very disappointing evening meal overall. We were a group of 5 who have visited Cote several times and really enjoyed each visit. However, all of us preferred the previous menu and felt that the new menu was limited and the quality of food was poorer and bland. The fixed price menu price has also increased from £18.95 to £23 for 2 courses, but the portion size seemed smaller and again the quality was not as good as previously. The service was also disappointing as we had to ask 3 times for a jug of water and one of the steaks we ordered as medium was actually rare and had to be sent back. The wait to bring back a new steak took ages and the rest of the table had finished their meals by the time it arrived. The free flow fries are good but needed as there were so few were on the plate to begin with.
Karen L — Google review
Our waiter Constantin was very welcoming and attentive on arrival. There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant as it was a busy Saturday evening but that didn’t not slow down the service at all. The service was prompt, the food delicious as always and we were made aware of any specials or offers at the start. We love Côte Cirencester and will return.

Téatro in Cirencester offers a fanciful space for breakfast, steaks, and afternoon tea, along with craft cocktails and live music. The restaurant boasts award-winning cocktails and a glamorous atmosphere. Guests can savor classics like cosmopolitans and espresso martinis or try signature concoctions such as honey rum rum and gin jam. The intimate piano bar features live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
We came here on the last day of our break to the Cotswolds. What a lovely surprise it was! The restaurant was busy but not heaving, the staff attentive, and the food was delicious. Even though there was a wedding in the garden, it did not affect diners in the main restaurant. As we finished our dinner, the live music started up in the bar, clearly a popular regular event. We joined the small crowd in the bar when we had finished up which made a great end to the evening.

We had dinner at Téatro as we were staying at Ingleside House. Lovely decor and friendly service with a good garden area. We ate inside and started with a good Twice Baked Cheese Souffle, with Gouda Cheese Sauce and a Burrata with Heritage Tomatoes. Mains were a delicious Native Breed Pork Chop cooked on the Josper grill and the Moules Mariniere, with sourdough. And to finish a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.

We had an amazing steak dinner here – the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. After our meal, we were invited into the bar area, where a very talented pianist played for us for the rest of the evening. A lovely place to dine and enjoy quality time with your loved ones while in Cirencester

Delightful place for dinner. Really nice atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff. There was excellent live music on (a friday night) which added to the ambience. A small but well put together menu with lots of options. There was a mix up with two of our main courses but this was rectified immediately and didn’t detract from an excellent evening. Would really recommend a visit.

It could have been an off day for them, but unfortunately nothing went well for our booking. The food and drink were not special and we had to send back 2 steaks because they were undercooked and not what was ordered. The manager tried to make up for the obvious sub par food being served. It was a special birthday celebration and the meal fell flat.

Ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats and the food that arrived was laughable, their hot dogs are the same size as a thumb, the chicken burger looked like a chicken nugget and there were roughly around 20 chips in each box. Don’t be deceived by their websites photos as they are far from the truth.

Such a cool restaurant. They change the menu all the time so we went when they had sushi. The night we went their liquor license had expired so we were able to bring our own drinks which was also great! But normally they have a full bar. They also have games to play and this created a great atmosphere as people wanted to get involved with the game we were playing! Will definitely be back to try a new menu but the sushi was amazing!

A bar with a compact menu of beef and chicken burgers. The smashed beef burgers were really tasty. Perfect size, great flavours and excellent chips on the side. The chicken burgers looked as good as the beef ones, you can't really go wrong with all the interesting options on the compact menu, it's all good. The beers on draft were fresh, tasty and had some interesting options. The music in the background was excellent, the service is friendly and energetic and there are also deck chairs outside. It's a great place for a tasty burger and a lovely cold beer.

No photos as we tucked straight in however the food was really lovely. As a group of 6 visiting the Cotswolds on holiday, we decided to try this place following a google search & going on recent reviews. We had 3 mains which consisted of 2 different burgers meals, a chicken & bacon pasta dish, pulled pork loaded fries & a mixture of sharing platters. We were welcomed by an accommodating member of staff from the off. The place is dog friendly & on seating were given a bowl of water & treats for them. Only downside was that service was a little slow (not sure if this was due to offering takeouts too or being understaffed) however we were in no hurry & would definitely return if we visited again!

Wonderful place! Arrived and was greeted so well! There is a large food menu, and it’s great priced too! There are other places that do food in the area but are very expensive. I noticed a poster and the landlady explained they have deals each week day for food and a drink. I am not sure if there is parking available but if not there is a car park 4 mins walk away which is free after 6pm. Very friendly staff and the the food was lovely!! Nice town centre pub, great food at reasonable prices for a town centre pub, one of my usual drinking places years ago, pop in more for food these days, still run by Mandy , who remembered me even though rarely in the pub for last 15 years, Bar staff are great, mainly been served by Megan and Sian , both are diamonds and friendly with it, even if it’s busy and they are rushed off their feet, maybe been served by 2 others once or twice and again are friendly , making up a great team, Some days / times it can be quiet , but that’s not necessarily a bad thing , Would readily recommend Only downside Stella no longer served, but many pubs don’t either So I just switch to cider Sometimes when busy there can be a wait, again that is a good sign, that your food is done fresh and not being re heated or worse microwaved to death Been to some places akin to fast food outlet , food out within 10 mins , and taste that matches the quickness / red hot/ bland and dry usually ! I’d rather wait for freshly cooked food 😁

After a visit to the Corinium Museum and walk around town we stopped here for lunch. Revisited after a disappointing Sunday beef roast last year and glad I did. New chef and a fabulous generous tasty roast beef and lots of veg on the side. Great staff and nice ale. A great afternoon and will definitely be back.

After visiting this evening for a 77th birthday I was more than disappointed. To be told that there was a cake charge of £3 per person for a small cake we bought in was beyond belief. The service from arrival to ordering to leaving was far from expected. Food was mediocre with one meal arriving with an empty bowl of fries. The roast potatoes were not from today but smothered in garlic and salt to mask the age. There was other issues but lack of care and response from staff didn't warrant saying more. Table of 9 that won't be returning

Popped in for a meal and a pint and glad we did, the burger was the best pub burger I've had in a while with a proper home made style beef patty covered with a strip of bacon and caramelised red onion relish. Middle floor is pool tables and the first is the bar there’s also other games and darts ect Special shout out to Rory behind the bar. He made the place great. Definitely worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great beer choice and a great place to see Villa beat Man City 1-0. Happy days.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! The food was awful, an oily mess. Bad quality food. Spoke to the owner, we asked for our money back but he only gave us half of the money back. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He couldn’t politely handle the situation himself so he asked one of his staff members to take over. He shouldn’t be facing customers. The other staff actually seemed embarrassed by his behaviour. I can’t see this pub lasting long with that attitude.
Aiden — Google review
Lovely hearty pub meal, good service, drinks prices are expensive but it’s a fairly expensive area. They have pool tables upstairs which are always great fun and the staff are very friendly.
Amber A — Google review
Played pool upstairs on small coin operated tables with very small clay balls that did not play well. Would be ok if I got used to them I guess, not this is not my plan. 🫣

Thank you Mike and staff at Porters Cafe for providing us with a great dinner! We learned a lot about local history and folklore and the food and drinks were outstanding!!! A proper pie!!!

Reasonably priced meals. I had the quesadilla and my husband the burrito which we both thoroughly enjoyed.

If you're a beer enthusiast, the Marlborough Arms is an absolute must-visit destination. This charming pub features an impressive array of real ales, Belgian craft beers—including some delightful Trappist options—and local ciders that are sure to please any palate. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting, making it one of the top spots in town for both locals and visitors alike.
Lovely pub with a garden area outside. They have games you can play at your table. Staff are very friendly and there is always a good atmosphere of people in there
Amber A — Google review
This pub had a lovely, friendly feel. There were lots of excellent ales available. I liked the book shelf where you could browse a book for a bit. I went on a Tuesday evening but saw that they had live music on a Saturday and from a local band.
Jennie S — Google review
No atmosphere, no music. Fire was on which was nice. The two beers we had one had no flavour.
Fay P — Google review
Best pub pub in the area. The landlord proving that pubs can still be profitable without resorting to overpriced gastronomy with no room to socialise. Fine selection of cider, ale and stouts on regular rotation. The patio garden is good but, such an establishment Needs replicating out of town too. Possibly by woods, fields, some water and a village named after an item of clothing.

Called whilst on a coach trip from South Wales on our way to Stratford, warm welcome and cold wine and beer , would have liked to have stayed longer, but on a tight schedule, will return when back in the area

Just brilliant, a proper free house with a wide and varied selection of Ales, several bib ciders also available. Really worth a visit. 🍻

During a break in Cirencester I sought out the Marlborough Arms due to its reputation for great ales and Belgian beers in particular. I was not disappointed, knowledgeable barman helped me choose a good one... superb.

We found this little gem whilst we were staying near for a few days and I just wished we lived closer to come back every week! Staff were amazing, attentive, friendly and really made us and our 2 young children (1&2) feel really welcome. The food was stunning, we tried a mix of both English and Indian food from the menu and both were top quality and tasted amazing. We would 100% recommend!

Three girlfriends and I stopped off here for a lovely lunch to finish our weekend away. The food was delicious, I had the Warm Crown Salad with Salmon and Prawns, the staff so attentive (Harrison was particularly fabulous) and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend 🙏

Visited a few weeks ago with friends from Canada. Had a great experience, setting nice, food really good menu choice extensive and staff attentive. Made for a wonderful evening. Visited again yesterday with family and another wonderful experience. Many thanks to the staff and a call out for Martha our waitress.

Visited on 6/8/25. We’d heard on the grapevine about the fusion of English & Indian cuisine @ the Crown and we weren’t disappointed! An extensive menu was on offer. Table staff were knowledgeable and able to suggest choices depending on different preferences within the group. Dishes were served with appropriate wait in between courses. A truly relaxing p.m. with fabulous food in beautiful surroundings. Thanks to ALL the team @ The Crown. Best wishes M Wood

I went last night and genuinely thought it was outstanding. Food was delicious and service was spot on, we didn't feel rushed. My new favourite place, what a hidden gem. I never leave reviews but this was worth one!

Frustratingly amazing in every way. From service to food, this Indian, English fusion is spot on. The attention to detail, flavours, and warm atmosphere make it a standout. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more. Olivia, made sure our food was tailored to our taste & went out of her way to make sure our experience was exceptional.

This doesn’t disappoint the food was outstanding & the atmosphere in this gorgeous Cotswold Pub was lovely. Attentive staff who knew how to make us feel very welcome , I’d like to say how lovely Martha was, making sure we were being served & had everything we wanted, for such a young lady we were very impressed. Highly recommend this for excellent food with flavours that give you a real experience of India food cooked by experienced chefs. 5 stars

Went for a walk with my neighbour and accidently went in and had a curry! Absolutely delicious! Even though it was busy, the food arrived at a reasonable time and the wait staff were friendly. Our wait for the table wasn't long considering we hadn't booked and we had a lovely glass of wine at the bar. Will definitely return!

The White Hart Inn is located in the charming Cotswolds market town of Cirencester, offering a variety of shopping, dining, and a bustling local market on Saturdays. Nearby Swindon boasts the popular Designer Outlet Centre and a diverse range of shops. Visitors can also explore the old docks at Gloucester or enjoy a day at the races in Cheltenham. The inn's restaurant serves delicious meals, with generous portions and attentive service.
Stunning fish and chips, a must have in fact. Lovely staff, quick service.

We walked to The White Hart from Lower Mill Estate along the Thames Path — such a lovely walk! We had pre-booked a table for 8 people (plus a dog) and everything was ready for us when we arrived. The food was really good, reasonably priced, and the portion sizes were great too. Perfect spot after a walk!
Sarah L — Google review
Me and my friends came here for lunch and had a lovely meal. The food was really good and they had a great selection on the menu. The pub didn’t feel that clean which is obviously quite common with British pubs, however it didn’t feel like our table had been cleaned nor the bar when I leant on it (but that’s only a small thing of course). It was very cosy though and we would come again :)
Abbie H — Google review
We had a good size room with an ensuite, bay window and a glorious sea view. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff friendly and helpful. My dogs were welcome and all in all it was a pleasant stay.
Kathryn W — Google review
One of the friendliest pubs I’ve been to. Staff were warm, happy and welcoming. The pub is dog friendly. The menu had a good range - sandwiches, toasties, burgers, pasta, and catered well for vegetarians. The food was well portioned and a good price. The pub was decorated for Halloween, and was bright, airy, and spacious. It felt like a traditional pub in a lovely quaint village. The only downside was the cleanliness - both high chairs were dirty, and one had lots of food still left on it, and the floor dirty too.
Grace W — Google review
Fantastic food, quickly served So good that the pub was open during the day serving food Perfect for Thames Path hikers!
Stuart S — Google review
Popped in for a spot of lunch, a good selection of dishes on the menu, and a comprehensive selection of sandwiches. I went for the club sandwich, which was excellent. The pub also has a good selection of beer and other beverages. The landlord and staff were very polite and atten, tive. Overall an excellent experience, it was my first visit, and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
Paul P — Google review
Found this pub after we walked the dogs. It's very dog friendly and the staff are really welcoming to both dogs and humans. It was a sunny day so we parked ourselves in the garden. Instead of a Sunday roast we went for baked camembert and a tapas plate. It was lovely eating outside and the food was great. It's obviously a popular pub. We arrived before 12pm when it was quiet but when we left at 2pm it was very busy.

Located on Castle St, 17 Black is a versatile establishment that transforms from a bar during the week to a lively nightclub on the weekends. This vibrant venue guarantees an enjoyable time for those seeking relaxation or excitement. With an extensive beverage selection, including large sharing cocktails and three glasses of Prosecco, as well as daily happy hour from 5-11pm, patrons are spoiled for choice. The bar also offers enticing deals such as Gin Thursdays and free entry before 12pm on Saturdays.
Popped in on the off-chance they where open late on a Monday with an open mind as have had some bad fish in other restaurants.. We where greeted and served buy james who we could only describe as eye candy... When the food came out promptly may we add it was a feast for the eyes and short of putting flippers on and heading out to sea I doubt you'll find better fresher fish. Who ever is behind the kitchen at a guess could only be a magician of the dark culinary arts. If you leave a bad review you clearly must be drunk or have no taste in the finer things in life. Well done guys.

Nice food and drinks, good service and the food came quick although we were the only ones bar one other couple in there on a Wednesday evening 7pm. Sausage and mash was a very large portion, gravy was very thick but had good flavour, mash potato seemed to be microwaved and onion rings were very large but nice with a bit of spice in them
Amber A — Google review
A very nice place. They have the best fish and chips and very nice cocktails as well. This is going to be one of my favorite places to go in Cirencester.

I was served by the wonderful Vicky! She had good knowledge of the menu, recommended the ham hawk mushy peas and they were amazing! She was attentive and friendly. Had a few beers to wash down the cod bites and peas, pint where fresh and delicious. Will be back!

Don’t do the bottomless lunch! Food delicious but the bottomless part is far from bottomless. Waited 25 mins for our first drink of Prosecco then only had two refills in an hour and a half. Waited over 20 mins with empty glasses on the table every time. Huge disappointment. Understaffed and badly run. Don’t waste your money

Lake Pochard, located in the Cotswold Water Park, is a great spot for day fishing. The area also includes other lakes like Watermark Lakes, Whelford Pools, and Bushy Leaze. The lodges are spacious and offer lovely food with a Japanese fusion feel. Fishing in the main lake can be tough due to ducks constantly diving for bait, but it's possible to catch big fish with patience. Visitors can relax while enjoying beautiful views and wildlife.
I recently visited Lake Pochard, and it was an amazing experience. The lake is peaceful and perfect for bird watching, fishing, and enjoying nature. The clear waters and abundant wildlife made it a joy to explore. I loved the beautiful walking paths and the overall serene atmosphere. It’s a fantastic place to relax, whether you’re fishing, having a picnic, or just soaking in the calm surroundings. Lake Pochard is definitely worth a visit, and I’ll be coming back for sure!
Dr. M — Google review
Lovely staff and surroundings, lake Pochard is more for the angling enthusiast than the recreational angler, due to size and bottom (weedy) however the small lake is great fun with fish weighing in respectably, simply put the venue is suitable for all the family, with absolutely fantastic lodges, we had a cavernous 3 bed lodge which was well furnished and has all appliances. Staff are full of great advice on fishing the two lakes, and there is a tackle shop just a few yards away. Well worth the trip, we, and the dog Eddie loved our week, many thanks :)
Brian B — Google review
We stayed in Maple Lodge for the second time. Good communication from the time of booking to arrival. Lovely and clean and everything you would need for a comfortable break. Dog friendly and the fishing was very good. Fishing tackle shop across the road.
Polly N — Google review
What a lovely place to relax take in views watch the wild life and to fish. Very friendly staff. 2 things that didn't make me put a 5 star was my wife had to clean the lodge a bit as was a little dirty on the floor as had my daughter who like to play with her toys on floor and the water out of the taps was grey but not thier fault I suppose more the water board. But would definitely like to go again 👍
Matty S — Google review
Really disappointed with the fishing management, me and a friend booked way in advance to be told there was plenty of room on the lake for us to fish. On arrival, we were told that most swims were shut due to being 'Reserved' which we were told we couldn't do and the rest of the swims were already occupied by anglers. We was told only max 6 anglers on the lake, but there was 10 fishing. Incredibly frustrating considering we booked the lodge just to fish lake pochard. We are not local to lake pochard resulting in losing over £400. I cant fault the lodge, was really nice and clean in all due respects.
Joe S — Google review
Fantastic venue and a friendly welcome upon arrival, I could happily live in the lodge full time, clean, spacious and well equipped. The lake is stunning and offers the opportunity for big carp fishing. There is also a smaller match lake if that's what you want. Onsite restaurant and shops nearby, including a bait and tackle shop opposite the site.
Carl M — Google review
Lovely little wood cabins. Only thing missing is some WiFi as phone signal is quite low inside the buildings heating is fine. Beds comfortable etc sound does travel through the building tho so be aware of that if you have little ones. Only downsides are that the water pressure is a bit low making the shower weak, towels are on the small side and only one toilet roll was provided. All in all very nice.
Adrian C — Google review
We absolutely love this place. The lodges are well equipped, the lake is stunning and the setting is fab. Steve and his wife are fantastic hosts... cannot complain at all. Will definitely be returning again for the fourth time 😀
