Nestled in the heart of Barrie, Ontario, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts. This local gem offers a vibrant setting and a unique selection of craft beers. Visitors can enjoy free tours with tastings and explore the small shop on-site. Known for their wild and eccentric beers, Flying Monkeys produces some of the most creatively designed cans in Ontario's brewery scene.
Great place to get craft beer! The place is colourful and their beers are as colourful! They host a free tour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, & 4 pm. Max of 8 people, first come, first served. We did that and it was good! It last for approx 45-1hr, and they talk about the history of flying monkeys and how to make a beer! We came back late at night to check the vibe and they have live performances. Staff are friendly, they have gender neutral washrooms.

I went to this place for lunch and ordered a meat sandwich, but unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. It sounded great on the menu, but it lacked flavor and didn’t live up to the description. The atmosphere also didn’t feel right for a relaxed lunch. The place is right by the street, so it’s very noisy, and there were several moments when people experiencing homelessness walked by asking for something. It made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I got the sense that it’s more of a nighttime spot, and to be fair, they do have a good selection of beers. Maybe it’s better to visit in the evening, but for lunch, it really didn’t hit the mark.
Monny G — Google review
This is the best brewery in Barrie. The venue is immaculate with the band posters on the roof and really just every inche of the place covered in something cool. Drinks are fantastic and food is delicious. If you are looking for breweries I would recommend stopping in!
Connor P — Google review
What an amazing place but most importantly hell of a great beer. Atmosphere is uplifting, very colorful place and the live music was a hit. The pretzel was out of this world and the sausage board to die for. Good job Flying Monkeys 👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻
Angel C — Google review
Great place and vibe. Awesome beer selection. A few things to keep in mind: 1. They don’t have all the beers on the website on tap (they do have a bunch of good ones on tap tho) 2. They let homeless people in the brewery and that can be a bit inconvenient (as one of them approached my partner and I and we felt a bit uncomfortable) 3. Apparently you are not allowed to order more than one flight per person at once.(a by law thing they have I guess) 4. Staff are nice
Julia S — Google review
Always love their project beers only found in house. Stopped by again for a quick flight and shared an order of wings. Took far to long for wings to come out and were cold. Busy/forgetful staging etc who knows but with class they were quickly removed from our bill. Food here's typically great and is the service. Don't stop experimenting with your next new beer!
Michael A — Google review
I started with the Birdyard sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and the fries were among my favourites—crispy and perfectly seasoned. However, I was quite disappointed with the tacos. The tortilla was unfortunately dry, tough, and had an off-putting smell, reminiscent of the kind served at the New former nightclub in Downtown Barrie. The combination of pickled ingredients, sweet jalapeños, and sour cream created a flavour profile that felt unbalanced to me—almost like baby reflux in taste and texture. That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere vibrant and upbeat. Chef, please don’t take this the wrong way—fusion and street food can be incredible when the flavours are thoughtfully combined. I wish you the best of luck with your next creation and look forward to seeing how the menu evolves.

No matter you drive thru or visiting Barrie On, you can miss this Ontario Craft brewery. They have 16 beers on Tap, pizza, nachos, wings to pair it. After the beer you can walk around Barrie lakeshore too. Sounds like a plan? 😀

Irish pub
Nestled just east of Barrie's historic Five Corners, Donaleigh's Irish Public House stands as a beloved landmark in the heart of downtown. This traditional Irish bar is renowned for its inviting atmosphere and authentic pub fare, featuring favorites like shepherd's pie and juicy burgers, all crafted from fresh ingredients. Guests can enjoy a wide selection of quality ales, lagers, and stouts on tap, including the iconic Guinness.
Really like the interior decor, food is not bad, I really enjoy the Guinness poutine, second the cauliflower dish (I don't remember the name). The other dishes are not bad, It is just a bit salty for my taste. But overall, is great.
Amanda O — Google review
Great Spot for a Chill Evening The beer selection was solid, with a nice variety to choose from. The noise level was just right—lively but not too loud—so we could actually enjoy our conversation. Service was attentive and friendly throughout the night. But the real standout? The nachos. Made with house-made potato chips, they were incredibly tasty and definitely a must-try. Will be coming back for sure! !
Meisam M — Google review
We had a great experience at Donaleigh’s Irish Public House on New Year’s Eve. Despite the large crowd, the staff remained attentive, professional, and managed everything smoothly. The food was of good quality, freshly prepared, and served in a timely manner. Prices were reasonable, especially considering it was a busy holiday night. Overall, it was a well-organized and enjoyable evening with a lively atmosphere—definitely a place worth visiting again!
Morris — Google review
First time here and it was fantastic! The reviews are true! Great place for food and drinks! We shared some nachos (the potato chip really adds to the flavour) soooo good! The wings are big and tossed well in the seasoning of your choice! We got chipotle mango dry rub and Whiskey BBQ sauced! The Mac and cheese bites also were a hit! Great drinks! The white sangria was delicious! The dirty caesar was nice too! Definitely recommend to anyone in the Barrie area or stopping by!
Emily S — Google review
We were visiting as tourists and really wanted to enjoy our meal. Other than the food, everything else was good — the service and atmosphere were nice. However, the food was quite disappointing. We ordered the Irish poutine, a double-stacked crispy chicken burger, and tomato soup. It was obvious that everything was cooked in the same oil, which didn’t taste fresh at all. They need to change their oil more frequently! The soup wasn’t served hot, and the tomato sauce and spices were overpowering, while the chicken and corn were barely noticeable.

We were here last Saturday, we come here without knowing about the Portuguese tarts festival. Pretty busy, a sunny hot day so we were looking for a refreshing beers. We stop here and we didn't go wrong even that was pretty busy we have good service . We asked for a couple beers and a Brie cheese with garlic bread that we really enjoyed. Was soft and tasty, had walnuts and cranberry compote. I never had this kind of entries in a pub, and I love it. ****Update, we return back and we bring some friends from Ottawa. Taylor our waitress was super super nice, always taking care of what we need and at the beginning she explained all the deals and promos they have. The food is really good the wings are huge and well seasoned and the fries are great amount. Coliflower bites well made. They told us they have live music on Saturdays so we will back for the music.

Had an amazing time at Kensington Burger Bar! The vibe was chill, the service was quick, and the burgers? Absolutely next level. Juicy, flavorful, and stacked just right. Definitely a must visit spot if you’re craving a solid burger and good times. Kensington Burger Bar never disappoints. The service was great and everyone was super friendly and made the experience even better. The vibe was just right for a chill hangout. Can’t wait to come back!

June 2025 I ordered a Hamburger with cheese and bacon, it came with fries. I had the food to go. The fries are definitely hand cut and if fresh are really good. The burger was just OK, nothing special, it didn't taste like it was a proprietary meat blend, to be honest it tasted like it was supermarket bought meat. It was also under seasoned. The service was good and courteous. The patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy a cold beer with a bite to eat. It was $25+ for my burger and fries...

After a long day kids wanted something. We had some wings and drinks. Manager, Mitch was awesome. Gave great feedback on menu and helped the ladies with drink selection. We had 3lbs wings in 3 different flavors along with IPA beer and couple Cosmos for the ladies

Went here for lunch and it was pretty chill. Burger was good, staff was attentive and friendly. Then we passed by at 9pm on a Saturday and it was packed and they have a full band playing!

Delicious food! I decided to switch it up this time from a burger, even if they are amazing, and got the buffalo chicken routine instead. It was well worth it! Huge portions and couldn't have asked for much more. Nice and clean venue, and very friendly staff as well.

🤮👎I was visiting Barrie with my partner! Walking down the main avenue! And we decided to try this place because of the live music and good vibes! We have 2 ordered the of beer tasting!(beer flight) They come in four different flavors! And it was the worst experience I've ever had! Not only because the temperature of the beers was lukewarm! But every flavor was unpleasant! Some were bitter! Others were unpalatable! What a horrible experience! It was disgusting! I don't recommend it.

Me and my girlfriends came here last Friday for some drinks on the patio and dancing, and we had such a great time! I wanted to give a big shoutout to the bar staff — especially our bartender, Jake, who was super friendly and made sure we were having fun all night. I also want to recognize the security guy Jeff who was working that night. We had an issue with a male guest who was bothering us and making us uncomfortable. The security guy noticed right away, stepped in quickly, and removed the guy from the situation. He checked on us multiple times afterward to make sure we were safe and still enjoying ourselves. Between the amazing service and the sense of safety we felt thanks to the security, this bar continues to be one of our favorite spots. Huge thanks to the whole team! 💯🍸💃 - Courtney

Stopped here after a nice road trip because it looked amazing online. Ordered our food, but it took a little long to come out. Despite that, I don’t think my experience was ruined one bit. We had our lovely waitress Tessa constantly checking in on us and being very helpful. She had a very accommodating personality and was a delight to have. Once the food came, I realized that it was so worth the wait. Food was delicious and very filling. Portion size on the buffalo poutine was impressive

Nestled along Dunlop Street East, Hooligans Eatery is a vibrant sports bar that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its stunning rooftop terrace offering breathtaking views of Kempenfelt Bay and the city skyline, it's the perfect spot to unwind. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement as patrons embrace the motto "Eat, Drink, Cheer.
It was a very nice experience. At first glance, the patio menu seems small, but the food choices are varied. The service was good, the view was fantastic, and the vibe was great.

Seriously? Processed cheese on chicken parm?? The description even says topped with mozzarella. Extremely disappointed and turned off by this place now. I ended up peeling the thick layer of disgusting processed cheese off the chicken and just ate it plain. Who wants processed cheese on their chicken parm. Not sure what happened here tonight but you ruined my dinner, and lost a customer.
Caitlyn P — Google review
This place is very nice, especially the roof top patio during the summer. Some servers need to work on their customer service. I wanted to say a special thank you to Gabriella for her wonderful customer service. Overall a great experience, will return.

Original review: Came here with three of my friends for dinner and drinks. We split a couple of pitchers of sangria and I ordered the baja tacos which were tasty. We got to the restaurant around 8 and we didn’t leave until 10:40. Our waitress was very friendly but not very attentive. She had come back to our table after we finished our food and drinks at 9:54 and told us that at 10pm drinks were going to be $3. We showed interest and asked if she would be able to come back in a couple of minutes so we could order more drinks. She didn’t come back to our table until 10:35 and that was only because my friend had waved her down. At that point we just wanted the bills and to leave. She gave us our bills and then walked away to another table to give them their bills and to let them pay despite them being sat well after we got to the restaurant. We would have been more understanding if the restaurant was busy; however, there weren’t many other people there when we were. Overall, food was tasty but service was slow. UPDATE July 2024: went on the roof top patio for drinks and food with friends since it’s one of the best view of the lake downtown Barrie. They gave two of my friends dirty glasses, 2/4 of the app plates were dirty, the second pitcher of sangria that we had was dirty. The sangria didn’t taste good, my mojito tasted like pure soda water. Our nachos were mostly dry chips without cheese or other toppings and the sour cream was goopy where you would dip your chip and it’d look like liquid glue on your chip.
Mikaela — Google review
We came here with some friends on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy between 5:00 and 6:00. The service was great, and the food was delicious. The suicide wings are seriously spicy! The restaurant was very clean and has nice decor. They have different types of seating (high tables, low tables, booths, bar seating). There are lots of TVs around. I would definitely come here again.
Harley P — Google review
So happy to have Hooligans back! After being sold and waiting months for a liquor license, I can imagine it’s been rough for the business. We just dined in for the first time in a while and the new menu items are great and the staff and venue are fantastic. Can’t wait to be back soon (: Highly recommend
K S — Google review
Not a bad experience. The decor is great, really love the rustic look. However, WAY too many TVs. It's rather distracting. We ordered Jerk Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which were delicious. But don't be fooled. Jerk sauce is not involved in the slightest, and the sauce they are served with is a salty sweet light dressing. Very good, but not what's on the menu. Also, be prepared to eat almost a whole head of iceberg lettuce. Perhaps, moving forward they should use a more nutritious and flavourful green. The end result is more of a messy sweet chicken taco. Still, very much enjoyed it! Service was extremely friendly, albeit slow (despite an empty restaurant on a Saturday).

Excellent location. The patio is decent size as you can maintain a distance in these times of social distancing. I loved the modern industrial look of it. The food is good and the servers are pleasant. A place where you can unwind, enjoy the breeze and views.

At McReilly's Public House, you can immerse yourself in a delightful blend of traditional pub charm and vibrant entertainment. This cozy spot is perfect for enjoying a freshly poured pint while indulging in an array of delicious dishes. Families will find something to please everyone, from flavorful chicken wings and mozzarella sticks to refreshing salads bursting with fresh ingredients. The service here stands out, with attentive staff ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of.
Had an absolutely fantastic experience at McReilly’s! My kids (8 and 12) ordered chicken wings, fries, and an ice-cream cookie along with mozzarella sticks, while I went for the chicken salad—and everything was top-notch. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. My salad was particularly amazing, packed with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavours. What truly made the visit special was the outstanding service. Our waitress was wonderful with my kids, making them feel welcome and ensuring they had everything they needed. We even had a great conversation with her about hedgehogs, which was a fun and unexpected bonus since we have one as a pet! It’s not often you find a place that delivers both excellent food and top-tier service, but McReilly’s nailed it. Highly recommend for a great meal out with the family!

Wow… huge, fresh, and delicious pasta with mini garlic bread for just $20! Great patio and excellent customer service. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this in Toronto.

Tyson is the best bartender in barrie. The food from the kitchen is all homemade and fresh, the prices are amazing for the value you’re getting. was here 15 years ago and I’m glad I came back. Marco
Aquascape1 — Google review
I'd like to start by saying I have been to McReilly's often, and every time the food has been outstanding. Tyson, the bartender, has always been attentive and upbeat. Last night, though, was one of the worst experiences I had eating out. The place felt cold and depressing. I attended with my girlfriend for dinner, and when we chose a table, I had to get the server to wipe down a very sticky table. We were asked right away if we wanted to place our order, but I hadn't even opened the menu yet, let alone sat down. After that, we were pretty much forgotten about. The whole bar/pub is served by the bartender, where it seems they are more interested in pouring drinks and chatting with the drunks. We even had another table near us speaking up to get some service as they had been sitting unattended, since they arrived, for about 15 minutes. My girlfriend ordered fries with a grilled cheese, and I ordered the Tex-Mex fries. My girlfriend noticed that the cheese in the grilled cheese was not melted and still had solid cheese chunks, so she ate her fries while waiting for our server to come back to mention it to her. They only came back when we were pretty much done and were clearing the plates. It was mentioned about the grilled cheese, where they offered to take it to the kitchen and fix it. They came back saying it was made fresh. Unfortunately, all that was done to fix it was to microwave it. It came back limp with a plate of the liquid cheese that had oozed out of the sandwich. It was no longer edible, so we just left it. As for my meal, the fries were hot as they should be, but the salsa and sour cream on top were freezing cold. Enough so that I could feel the cold on my teeth when I was eating it. To top it off, the bottom of my plate was a lake of tomato water. I take it the salsa was frozen and then defrosted to put on top of the fries, but the liquid drained to the bottom of the plate and made at least half of my fries soggy. I only ate about half of my order that wasn’t soggy. We waited for about 15 minutes to pay our bill, so I eventually decided to just go to the bar and stand by the cash register to get her attention to pay. As I said, I have eaten here in the past and the food has been excellent, but last night, being totally forgotten about and the food being a 1 out of 10 was a bit of a shock.
Harold N — Google review
The pub was very fun. I had a burger and my kids had chicken fingers. The food was a little spicy but only 1 of my kids panicked! The washroom was nice wasn't creepy. The service was amazing my 1 kid was super hungry and the same time the drinks came His fries came so overall it was nice!

We came for a quick breakfast and it was not bad at all. The place was empty, it is more of a bar so I think it is better to come in the afternoon but the food is fine, the place looks cool and I appreciate an alternative rock background music :)
Mike K — Google review
The patio is really nice outside and it has lots of great sun. The patio is dog friendly. However the homeless harass people on the patio quite a lot and management is trying to deal with that. The service itself is incredibly slow at this establishment. Everything would take a long time to arrive. The fries initially looked so good, but after a while they come out to be a little over seasoned and over peppered. We had two different types of wraps and both came a bit dry with not enough dressing on the inside.

Went here for a Christmas party last year. They do a nice job. Lots of options at the buffet provided. Also had fish and chips for lunch this week. Big portions as well. I cleaned my plate but most took food home because it was a lot.

This is a signature place in Barrie as this place is super old! This is my go to specially during the summertime. Love the combination of old folks and young people so it give the right vibe specially if you are more in to the oldies lol 😝 the food is good considering it is a pub. Normally I will eat what they serve and their drinks are good and reasonably priced. Today I was there with my hubby and we had a great time and enjoyed the food too! If you are more into the drinking then you will enjoy it and of course appetizers are a good thing to have while drinking.
Paola T — Google review
I really liked it there. My first time going to a bar and at first I was kinda nervous, but I really started to like it. I really want to thank the one security guard/bouncer, that helped me tonight when something happened. He was super on-top of it and very sweet. Staff is amazing, definitely would go there again one day. :))
Victoria M — Google review
Went to this place today. The drinks were good but the service, one word HORRIBLE. first of all we got a server after we were sitting for 15 minutes and only after we asked the host a couple times. The table next to us came 20 minutes after were greeted by a server right away and got their drink quick. Not only this our server kept on asking us if we want to order more and when we said we are not sure and good for now the server tried to force us to get the cheque even though the place wasn't that full. Like am I not allowed to sit and relax and soak in the good weather. Why do you have to rush me? Isn't that why people go out to able to enjoy and have a good time?

On their way home from Bass Lake Provincial Park, the couple decided to have a late lunch at Beertown Public House Barrie. They were impressed by the restaurant's amazing food and welcoming atmosphere. Despite concerns about bringing their pets to a crowded patio, the servers at Beertown went out of their way to make them feel comfortable by providing water bowls and even a couch for their doggies.
Updated review: The restaurant’s beverage manager, Debora, kindly reached out to me after my recent review and invited me back for another visit. My son and I just returned from our dinner, and I must say, it was fantastic. The food was exceptional, and the service was truly top-notch. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, with attentive service that added a warm and personal touch to our meal. We started with the sea salt and pepper calamari, which was perfectly crispy and paired with chipotle aioli that elevated the dish. For the main course, my son opted for the Southern fried chicken, which was incredibly juicy and packed with bold, savory flavors. I chose the BBQ brisket burger, and it was an absolute delight—juicy and rich, with the smoky, tender brisket perfectly complementing the burger patty. Each bite was a flavorful balance of textures and tastes. We were so full by the end of our meal that we decided to skip dessert, despite my son’s playful insistence that “there’s always room for sweets.” This experience has undoubtedly changed my perspective, and I’m updating my review to 5 stars. The combination of outstanding food, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional customer service made this visit memorable. I truly appreciate the effort they took to showcase the quality of their establishment. Would I recommend this restaurant? Without hesitation!

What an amazing pub to go for dinner or a couple of drinks. Food has always been great, well above average pub food a magical selection of craft beer and a nice selection of cocktails perfect for those that are non beer drinker. Patio is a great place to hang out, and they allow well-behaved dogs out on the patio, They even have a small menu with freshly cooked dog food, our little Ms. Peanut had an unseasoned burger patty.

Great food and awesome servers. Super attentive, answered all our questions and very quick service. Very happy they have a plant based menu, many options to choose from. Everything we ordered came hot and delicious. Glad to have found this hidden gem.

Food here is really good! The spinach dip was the best thing we ordered. Fried chicken was okay, it was a little tough. Service was good overall. They have a large patio and lots of parking available at the back of the restaurant

Overall the food was ok, the chicken was very greasy and the slaw that accompanied both our dishes weren't good at all. We left it on the plates. I always enjoy trying some new craft beers and they have a good selection at this chain. I had to buy a few of the Qbrew to go.

Amazing experience, over accommodating with my food allergy, swapped the butter brined chicken to a grilled, still breaded and sauced it to make it like the one I wanted & substituted some ingredients to ensure no dairy was in my food, looked into the ingredients in my fiancés food so I could have a bite, cooked my food separate Food - the portions are huge ! fiancé had the wings, truffle fries & beer flight, the waitress was so helpful with recommendations of the beer flight, I had a spicy chicken burger with fries , We both had a Caesar to drink . DELICIOUS , all of it was amazing Service - 10/10, waitress was so friendly, the gentleman who I believe was the owner was so nice, followed up with us once the food came to make sure all was well, the waitress was very quick also Atmosphere - a little crowded but not to the point it’s uncomfortable, was a great experience & we will be back

The ambience was pretty nice .. we ordered the fish tacos 🌮 which was pretty delicious with a side of fries 🍟... The chicken rice bowl mexican style was also decent. A little more condiments could have been present as it was a little dry... Also the pad thai was fine.. the service was quick and the server explained properly about the food.. the drinks options were huge and the place was packed for the leafs game!

To Will the GM and all staff, thank you for a fabulous lunch! Our Salads were fresh and tasty. Dog friendly menu, our pup loved the rice and beef patty. Beertown provides dog beds and water bowls as well.

Nestled in Barrie, The Keg Steakhouse + Bar is a delightful blend of casual elegance and culinary excellence. This popular chain restaurant specializes in classic steak and seafood dishes, making it a go-to destination for food lovers. Guests can indulge in expertly prepared steaks, including aged beef sirloin and prime rib, alongside an array of delectable seafood options like lobster tail. The inviting atmosphere is perfect for any occasion—whether you're celebrating a special milestone or enjoying a cozy dinner with loved ones.
We visited this location for the first time on Dec. 31, 2024 and it is safe to say that this was the best Keg I've been to so far. Food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed. Ordered Prime Rib with a side of potatoes, and since we were also celebrating a birthday we ended up with a piece of the Billy Miner Pie. For anyone who hasn't tried either, both come highly recommended! Other dishes from other visits include the Wedge Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, the Calamari, and the Baseball Sirloin.

We visited this restaurant during the week and didn’t need a reservation. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, which set a great tone for the evening. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and beautifully designed. The burger was absolutely delicious, and the steak—just as expected—was nothing short of excellent. In my opinion, this place could easily be one of the top choices among high-end eateries. Don’t hesitate to give it a try!

We had the pleasure of Jordyn serving us. She's an amazing person and wonderful server. The food both Prime Rib and Honey Glazed Salmon were perfect, and I can't recommend enough the Pineapple Upside-down cake for Dessert!

A truly refined dining experience at The Keg in Barrie. From the moment we arrived, the service and execution set the stage for an excellent evening. I always start with an Old Fashioned, a cocktail that often serves as my litmus test for a well-run bar. It was expertly crafted—smooth, balanced, and rich in flavor, setting the tone for what followed. For appetizers, we sampled a selection, but the shrimp cocktail stood out. The shrimp were perfectly cooked—plump, tender, and fresh—paired with a dipping sauce that delivered just the right balance of tang and depth. For mains, our party of four opted for a range of selections. I chose the steak and lobster, a classic indulgence. The steak, ordered medium, arrived precisely to temperature, with a beautifully seared crust and a tender, flavorful center. The lobster tail was equally impressive—not overcooked, not chewy, but delicate and naturally sweet, an indicator of its freshness. Others at the table enjoyed the salmon and twin lobster tails, both prepared with the same level of attention to quality and execution. Service elevated the experience further. Rebecca, our server, was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring our needs were met with seamless hospitality. Rayan, the manager, was equally gracious, making sure everything ran smoothly and warmly welcoming us. Overall, The Keg in Barrie delivered on every front—culinary execution, service, and ambiance. A standout experience, and certainly a place I’ll be returning to.

My recent dining experience at The Keg was truly delightful. I ordered the prime rib with their signature Keg fries, and I must say, it was cooked to absolute perfection. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was just right.
Mathew J — Google review
I recently dined at The Keg, and while the experience wasn’t terrible, it didn’t quite live up to expectations either. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which set a good tone at first. The staff was friendly, but service felt a bit inconsistent—there were long gaps between visits to the table, and it took a while to get our drinks and food. As for the meal itself, it was decent but nothing particularly memorable. The steak was cooked close to how I asked, but lacked seasoning, and the sides were just okay. For the price point, I was hoping for something a bit more refined or flavorful.
Andrew — Google review
We had a fantastic evening at The Keg. Greeting at the door started things well, very welcoming and friendly. We were seated almost immediately. Our meal itself was excellently cooked, I had the filet and my wife had the sirloin. Both cooked perfectly and beautiful. Service was pretty good. We will be back.

My best friend and I recently dined at The Keg to celebrate her birthday, and I felt compelled to share what was, without question, the best service I have ever received at this restaurant. From the moment we were seated, our server, Nicole R, was simply phenomenal. She was incredibly personable, warm, and attentive, setting a fantastic mood for our celebratory evening. It’s rare to encounter service that feels so genuinely invested in ensuring a great time, but Nicole nailed it. What truly stood out was Nicole's diligence and attention to my friend’s dairy allergy. Navigating allergies while dining out can often be stressful, but Nicole handled it with professional expertise and care. She proactively went through the menu, offered safe alternatives, and made sure every dish was prepared exactly as needed, allowing my friend to relax and enjoy her special meal without worry. This level of detail, combined with her friendly demeanor, elevated our birthday celebration tremendously. Thank you, Nicole, for providing such an outstanding and safe dining experience. We will absolutely be asking for your section on our next visit!

My partner and I had an incredible meal here. We sat on the patio and it was gorgeous. Our waitress Merv was very personable and friendly and she made our night. She recommended the best dishes for us. This restaurant did not disappoint. They had a garden beside the patio and the staff collected fresh herbs from it while we were dining, that's how fresh the food was. I would attend here again for a meal.

Simply fantastic. Our server, Merv, was very charismatic and fun to talk to. We got two appetizers, two mains and if time hadn't run out, we would have also enjoyed one of their four delicious desserts. All of our food was great; the portions were properly sized, with quality ingredients and presented very appealingly. We would definitely come back!

While driving through Barrie we decided to stop for lunch and left so impressed. Everything was high quality and delicious. Our server Cathy had wonderful suggestions and was so friendly / attentive. The Caesars were phenomenal, featuring a housemade mix. Also enjoyed two specials, the Mussels and Sirloin Poutine which included Brie cheese and hollandaise sauce on potatoes + the Lobster Pasta from regular menu. Excellent vegan / vegetarian options too. We will absolutely find a reason to return!

Have been wanting to check out this place for sometime and finally did on Saturday! Came in with my parents and boyfriend for dinner. We were warmly greeted and seated in a nice patio area. Our server was friendly and attentive. There were so many options for gluten free peeps as well as many dairy free and vegan options. I opted for calamari app and Caesar salad - both were delicious and full of flavour. My mom ordered the tomato burrata salad and scallop app. She thoroughly enjoyed both! My dad and boyfriend both went for the seafood pasta and thought it was excellent. Overall, a great dining experience with freshly prepared meals you can tell are crafter to perfection. We will definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant with quality service. Our waiter Andy was funny, informative and well versed in the menu and available parings. I was very surprised with the food! We enjoyed our meal and it is a place where creativity prevails. They have their own way of making the food and their sauces and everything was good and most importantly fresh. They also have good appetizers and I order a margarita which was excellent and you can see it in the pictures, the dry pineapple was edible and taste really good. We order fried calamari and was different but delicious, my husband order a grilled cesar salad and was excellent, he also ordered fettuccine bolognese and was different but good. I ordered beef tenderloin and it was delicious you can also see the pictures. In general was good! We definitely will come back. In Barrie is not easy to find good quality restaurants. This is a good one. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of what they have, good service.

Barnstormer Brewing & Distilling Co. Brewpub Restaurant is a local gem that offers housemade ales, delicious comfort food, and flight-related memorabilia. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy craft beer with friends. The menu may not be extensive, but every item is expertly prepared, from the tasty Enchiladas to the spicy Nashville chicken sandwich.
Barnstormer has a great feel inside blending classic planes and wonderful craft beer. I visited for lunch on a Monday and there were some people there inside and the service was good. My server was quick, attentive and friendly. There's also some outdoor seating, but it's not a huge area. I would've said outside but the weather wasn't very nice. Inside, there is lots of seating. It's got a great cozy feel and there are lots of airplane posters on the wall. There was a huge selection of beer from Barnstormer, but they had beer on tap from other craft breweries, which I think is great that they maintain relationships with other brewers. I thought the First Class Lager and Mirror Pass IPA were great choices. For food, I kept it simple and had a burger and fries. The burger was fresh and not dry and there were more fries than I expected. I found that a nice touch. I would certainly visit again if in the Barrie area.

Amazing food and great service! Ate the wings and pizza so fast forgot to take a before picture. The pizza was so good! I have never seen so many toppings they were practically falling off. The server was very friendly and funny. We will definitely be coming back.
Emma B — Google review
From the moment we walked into Barn Stormers, we were greeted with the kind of warm hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere was matched only by the delightful array of dishes that graced our table. The pizza was a masterpiece of flavors, with a perfectly baked crust that was both crispy and chewy in all the right places. Moving on to the burger, it was nothing short of spectacular. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it was complemented by a side of fries that were golden and crisp. The homemade hot sauce and gravy were revelations in their own right. The hot sauce had a kick that was bold yet not overpowering, allowing the natural flavors of the food to shine through. The gravy was rich and savory, a perfect pairing for both the fries and the burger. But what truly set Barn Stormers apart was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. They handled children with such care and grace, making sure that the little ones were just as satisfied with their meals and experience as the adults. In conclusion, Barn Stormers is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where families can come together to enjoy great food and create lasting memories. The amazing service, coupled with the delectable cuisine, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. **Five stars all the way!**

Cool place. Ok food, Not a real brewery at all. Only sells 1 beer of theirs. Retail store on 1 side, restaurant on other side. Cost is kinda high for what you get. Plane themed restaurant. I liked it, very different... beer keg urinals were 😎

My husband and I come here for the tossed chicken fingers… my girls and I come here for the server and bartender named Amanda! She is one of a kind, she’s the reason for our consistent return, she knows us all by name, she is a joy, always so happy and to see happy people doing their jobs these days is rare! We truly value our lunch dates here!! Food is great, drinks are awesome and service from Amanda is a 10/10!!!

Picked this place because of the reviews. Unfortunately I do not agree. Burgers were overdone!!!!!! Pizza tasted frozen. Beer that was ordered did not have a head on it. Not sure how a brewery bar can not know that all fragrance is under the head. Not our kind of place
Colleen D — Google review
Went there for the first time recently. Beer is just okay but service was fantastic. Our server was amazing & she gave great recommendations. My wife loved the fish tacos. My burger was superb and cooked perfectly. I guess that can be hit or miss with the new rules preventing ordering a medium done burger. Mine was at that perfect point. No pink but still juicy and not overdone!

The uniquely themed modern Canadian style pub boasts hearty delicious comfort food favourites. Not the largest menu you have seen but every item on it is done expertly. The Enchiladas were tasty and fun. Chilli cheese fries are a must try. The Nashville chicken sandwich kicks with spice but has room for heat. The overall experience value here is good. I would recommend everyone to give it a try.

The British Arms Pub is a delightful spot that perfectly blends the cozy ambiance of traditional English pubs with the lively spirit of Barrie's music scene. Whether you're enjoying a weekend brunch on the patio or participating in a fun trivia night, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming.
Went for Lunchmas with girlfriend. Onion soup is one of the best I've ever had. She was impressed by the veggie burger, as I was with the fish & chips. The bartender/server was attentive, funny, most of all knowledgeable re the menu. Missed out on having Sticky Toffee Pudding though. Was way too full, an excuse to go back. Apparently it's the chef's family recipe. We also had, glass red wine, blueberry tea, Spanish & Monte Christo coffees.

Food is a real English tasting experience! You must try it. A little bit too loud with live music but that’s how it’s supposed to be with live music right? :) So I love it!

The experience was not what I expected, first the music was a horrible mix (just rap music the hole night), the food was normal, we ordered nachos and onion French soup, the nachos were fine but the soup was so salty and cold (horrible honestly) we couldn’t finish it. The service was nice and the girls were very friendly and polite. Beer good but mojito was a little bit watery. The music was also huge loud.

We had a good experience here, food was great the appetizer dip was amazing, the waitress was nice and was able to get our entree (perogies) ready just before we left to takeaway with us, small cozy british bar it was, thanks

Wow…. Where do I begin? The place was almost empty when we arrived, couple people at the bar and one table. The bartender yelled that we could sit almost anywhere and then led us to the back. We got menus and ordered a London Fog cocktail. The bartender came back ten minutes later to apologize and tell us they had no Earl Grey tea( you’re a freaking British pub for God’s sake!) and that the frother was broken. Okay, we’ll have something else .Got another tea based drink that got to us lukewarm and ungarnished. Throughout this tortuous experience we were treated to two waitresses sitting in the both beside us and completely ignoring us, no appetizer order, just nothing. Our two mugs of tea with a splash of booze came to $33. We went across the street to Donleighs and had a wonderful cocktail and an amazing meal. When we left, British Arms was still empty as I imagine the staff prefers it. Will never waste my money there again.

This pub has upsides and downsides; there are hostile people and energies OFTEN and they are almost expected now, …BUUUUT the bartenders have immense integrity and booth the problems quite quickly as soon as problems arise. Thank you, Leah, for being such a saint and providing humanitarian comfort & joy through your generous offerings of service. I’ve been here many times but the pinnacle or experience was on 05/07/2025 when Leah and Emma T. served me with the most IMMENSE sweetness, accommodation and generosity. These women deserve raises and are the ultimate in bartending service!!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Fries were nice and crispy and Yorkshire pudding was on point 👌🏼 Our server was an absolute gem, very knowledge of the entire menu and recommending various items (she could have been the owner, possibly?) Visiting from Ajax and staying at The Monte Carlo Inn. Looking for a place for dinner and man let me tell ya we found a real gem. From exterior to interior very very nice, staff and patrons there really nice to talk with. Lots of stuff to choose from from menu, Karen ordered Steak and Mushroom Pie done from scratch I should say. I wanted something completely different and this I have never had. Ale and Onion Soup, you may think French Onion Soup but uh uh you’re wrong. This had a wild flavour and I mean wild flavour which out of bounds! And I had the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites. Which were done to perfection. Desert was Sticky Toffee Pudding and also made from scratch and was totally and I mean totally outstanding. I recommend anyone coming out this way check this place out. Tell’em Mark sent you, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This was our 3rd time there in 7 years, which should tell you something. We were there trying the new 10$ menu which is a great bang for your buck! We walked in, were greeted immediately and shown to our table for two. We ordered pop and wings (4lbs=40$). The problem was that our sever must have forgotten there were 2 of us at the table! While waiting for our food my husbands pop was delightfully refilled without asking at the half way mark. I was asked nothing and brought nothing even though mine was half gone too. My husbands 3 lbs were brought and served to him while we then both waited patiently for mine. My 1 lb finally came out with no apology for tardiness. During the meal my husband was asked how his wings were and he said great. Mine were good too (but no one asked me). My husband is very old fashioned and was appalled by this treatment! When it came time, I asked for the bill. That's when it hit her...I was paying. Aside from tripping over herself verbally, she was 2.5. Her tip could have easily been double, as we enjoy being generous. Always make an effort to make eye contact and speak directly to all people in the party, because you NEVER know who you're serving😉.

Server was great! Nice atmosphere. Good price. Liver and onions Good portion, wrong type of gravy tasted like Turkey gravy it should be rich dark beef gravy and frozen peas. Meatloaf Four inch chunk which was dry. Again the gravy wasn't great. Carrots were good Asked for frys instead of mashed which were $1.00 more. We tried but not great.. The price was good but the food didn't impress. Sorry

Great atmosphere, great friendly staff and very fast service especially during the holiday season. Had the pigs in a blanket appetizer which I forgot to take a photo of. Was a bit different and I think hot sauce would have been better served with it rather than HP sauce. My main meal was the Red Wine Braised Short Rib with Pomegranate. This was really good and served with mashed potatoes and winter vegetables. Very very filling and the taste was wow!! For dessert had the Gingerbread Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was drizzled with Brandy sauce and had whip cream and a scoop of candy cane ice cream. It was a but heavy but that could because of the meal I just ate. The candy cane ice cream was really good. Overall a great experience with 4 out of 5 stars for the food. Reasonably priced I might add!

We went for the localicious because we won the tickets on the radio! Shout out to Kool Fm! We were greated fast and asked if we made a reservation, I said I tried but no one answered the phone when I called three times that day (each call went straight to voicemail and it states NOT to leave a message) but either way we got sat right away asking if we were there to see the band (we had no idea there was a band that night (okay ) We were given out menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered drinks and told her we already knew what we wanted to order for food We got the Ceasar salad and the naan chicken Both were great other than wayyyyy to much cilantro in the chicken (im not a fan) Then our meals were delivered without even having finished out appetizers, which was quite annoying to be honest I got thr blackened fish and my company got the Guinness stew Nothing about my fish was blackened...it was quite tasteless and has a lil bit of colour more reddish/brown, with rice that looked like it was squeezed out of a uncle Ben's rice pack, no veggie, no tarter or any type of sauce for the fish.... The stew was great, real potatoes, fresh carrots (not the gross baby kind either) Our server came when I was done picking at my meal and my company was finished and then asked us how we liked it (normally you get asked just after you try your meal, no? Not when you're done. Another server (not our own) asked if we wanted dessert - which again we had order at the beginning of our meal bc it is a set menu It then took almost 20mins for sticky toffee pudding and bread pudding to come out! Which again was quite annoying! We ate half of it bc I wasn't a fan if either. We then asked for our cheque but never got it She just took our certificates that we won and she asked for us to sign and that was the end of it, so we left I wanted to tip her (bc it the right thing to do) but she never gave me the chance to so we just left. This was my 2nd time there in 15yrs (didn't have a good experience the 1st time either) and it was my company's 1st. Not sure if we'll ever go back!

I guess if you dont have a reservation on a Friday, right after work (4:50), you are not welcome. Went there this evening, first thing I was asked was if I had a reservation. This shocked me as it was shortly before 5. The server seemed pissed, I asked if reservations were needed because of the baseball game. She replied " No, because it was Friday night"....she asked if Id like a drink or wait until the rest of my party arrived. I said "No Id wait...." My husband arrived and she ignored us for about 10 minutes and went off to chat with one of her regular customers. My husband and I chose to leave, we had dropped in for a quick bite on the way home from work. This won't be happening again. Rude server, very disappointing. So much for a quick bite in a friendly pub atmosphere after a long week at work.

Paid and I was walking out i was wondering why I was given 2 bags. L9oked into both bags and realized they also gave me someone else's order. I would say easy 60 wings. I let the waitress know and gave the one bag back . Was surprised she didn't say ty knowing the mistake another waitress made. The nachos were really good. I also ordered the Raging Bull and Piri Piri wings. I felt both orders were overcooked to be honest and I've had wings from many other establishments in Barrie. Most wings regardless of the type of sauce or even if it's a dry rub, the wings should still be a bit juicy on the inside. I was really disappointed. Perhaps because it was Superbowl Sunday and maybe they had a lot of orders to fulfill. I will give them another try. Overall a 3 out of 5

It's a sports bar and when evaluated as such it's fantastic. Free popcorn, really impressive nightly specials/deals and portions on those are decent and the staff is over the top freidnly. Tons of tvs lots of seating and as sports bar dingy it is , it's appropriately clean.

Theres no clear system for waiting for a seat, we let the bar staff know - they didnt communicate it, we sat down and were told to leave the table by another waitress and to wait. Poor professionalism and poor communication systems = poor service. Been few times with different friend groups and the servers arent friendly or helpful, waited long for wings that were chewy. Sure the prices and location are good, seems to be it.

1 Star Very Disappointed I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. A lady wearing pink didn’t let us sit and order food just because it was close to closing time. We were really upset because we didn’t even get a chance to choose our meals. This kind of rude and unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable for any restaurant that cares about its customers. I’m definitely never coming back here, and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Attaching a photo so you can see who treated us like this.

Walked in for take out. The bar staff was super helpful and the food was ready quickly. I ordered a double triple burger previously, and after thurougly enjoying it last time, I ordered it again with 2 extra patties. Definitely worth it and would Order again. This place is definitely popular as their dining room is often packed every day of the week that I've been and finding a table requires some Patience. Definitely recommended!

I had just arrived in Barrie and picked Lockerroom based solely on proximity to where I was staying . Went in around 1pm on Sunday and sat at the bar . Was so impressed with service , it was pretty much a full house at the time and I got the last seat at a very large bar . Emily was my server/bartender and was absolutely awesome . Very attentive, helpful and always smiling . I’ve run/owned restaurants for over 40 years and the one thing I really appreciated was being acknowledged by servers that weren’t looking after me , in other words staff being friendly and just saying hi , this goes a long way . Had some great conversations with some local guests and overall just had a really good time . I’m here for four weeks and will definitely be back . Thanks Emily for making such a great first impression. Took a homemade burger to go with me and it was fantastic. I can easily understand why this spot is so busy , well done and thanks Tim

The place is messy but it's a real sports bar, if ever there was one. Wings are incredible and only $1.27 per wing! Their custom hot sauce flavours are amazing too; great spot to catch a game or after the gym.

St. Louis Bar & Grill is a casual hangout spot that serves slow-cooked ribs, customizable wings, and other delicious pub-style food. The restaurant stands out not only for its tasty dishes but also for its exceptional staff. One exceptional service provider consistently delivers a positive experience to all customers, efficiently taking orders with accuracy and a friendly demeanor. This establishment boasts a loyal clientele due to the remarkable quality of service they provide.
I have ordered here before and love their buy 1 get 1 free deals. This time its the boneless wings and fries. I looked through their uber eats menu and I was unable to make a side request for veggie sticks. Its an option out of many other great options instead of golden fries. Because i was getting two meals, i wanted to also have veggies and was bummed i couldnt find this in their uber eats menu. It truly is a go to for wings! I called the restaurant and Chelsea was a total gem and provided me a one-time courtesy and accomodated my veggie sticks as a gift. I asked to hopefully have someone add it on their sides menu. 10/10 for a delivery order. Chicken in great condition and lots of meat not just breading, perfect size for the two having both wings and fries. Nice amount of veggies for two meals and extra iconic st louis garlic dill dip which i love on everything. Uber eats driver also arrived early, food arrived hot. Will order again😉 Thankyou St. Louis Bar & Grill for the warm accommodation while we head into the colder months ❤️🎃

We hadn't been to this location in years. I am happy to report it is still amazing. Wings were hot and fresh. Service was fantastic. Thanks Beth.

Chelsea was absolutely amazing, her and the cook on tonight did an awesome job. I have bin twice and it has never disappointed me at all. She was fast on point and served everyone alone and in a timely manner. This woman needs a raise. I was in pain she made sure I was ok and made me feel comfortable with my medical issues. Super happy with the experience.

Just ordered some boneless wings and a hamburger… The hamburger was burnt it was so grosss! The boneless wings were dry and over cooked. Waste of money never ordering from here again!

Ordered the 2x8 boneless wings and 2xfries. They put everything in 1 container. Got 16 wings and 1 fry. Complete ripoff.

Ordered St. Louis from Uber Eats today. Got two 10 Piece Boneless Chicken Meals with a side of fries. Received 5 tiny little wings in each container. Most of the wing was just batter and not even chicken. Surprised they thought that was acceptable to serve. Super disappointing.

Terrible food. The chicken fingers were left in the fryer way too long. They were burnt. When we called the store, they wouldn’t refund! Terrible service! April 1 - 3 weeks after the Manager responded to this review and I emailed her. I’ve had NO response to that email or to the two phone messages I’ve left with the restaurant. Clearly the manager just left her email in response to my review to appear that she cares and wants to resolve this issue!

Cocina Mexicana is Barrie's first all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet restaurant, offering a twist to traditional buffets. This award-winning establishment provides all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner with smaller portions of authentic Mexican dishes brought directly to your table. The family-run restaurant prides itself on genuine Mexican hospitality and delicious food made fresh by the owner-chef.
Food was incredible, service was also really good and quick, you get fried tortilla chips and 3 types of mole when you are first seated. The drinks are also really good and well balanced! This place is definitely the best Mexican restaurant I've tried The restaurant itself is also very nice and seating is not too close together. They also have a patio, and roof top patio that opens in the summers and garage doors that open in the summer. As for parking there is parking outside but this can be hard to come by especially during the summer. Accessibility: the bathroom requires you to go up stairs. Not sure if they have a more accessible bathroom. Overall: Love it and highly recommend it!!

Arguably one of the most peaceful and beautiful patios in the city — perfect for a relaxed evening with great food and warm service. The team at Cocina Mexicana were absolutely lovely, making the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. I ordered a prawn dish in Diabla sauce, and to my surprise, the flavours reminded me so much of Kerala-style prawn curry! Rich, spicy, and deeply satisfying — it felt like a beautiful fusion of Mexican heat and South Indian soul. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic flavours, a calm vibe, and a place where you feel truly looked after. Will definitely be coming back.

Visit Friday September 12, 2025, party of six for beverages and a light meal. Ample parking and mobility impaired accessible. I had first been to Tiffs when they were located downtown at the corner of Dunlop and Mulcaster. They continue to be a popular watering hole for the locals, especially if there is a sports game on. Great food, great service.

The service was terrible. Older woman who was the bartender was serving us, worst attitude. The environment felt great at first walking in, but as soon as we got served it felt like we made her go out of her way to order. The food was not the greatest. The bartender serving us made us feel so uncomfortable. I wanted to go out for lunch due to having a tough week. I won't be coming back thars for sure. Plenty of other places that provide friendlier service and making their customers feel welcomed and not a bother to them. Also been told by others that they aren't very worried about cleaning their wing baskets and reuse napkins if they're not used on the customers table.

This family-style eatery features a unique food truck-inspired menu paired with an impressive selection of craft beers. Guests rave about the exceptional service provided by co-owners Josie and Dave, who are dedicated to serving fresh, well-prepared dishes that cater to diverse palates.
We recently celebrated my husband’s birthday at Grillicious Restaurant & Wine Bar in Barrie, and it was an unforgettable experience! The service was absolutely excellent, catering to all our guests, including the kids. The modern design and thoughtful decorations added a special touch to the celebration. The kids’ menu was impressive, with plenty of options, including milkshakes and juice. A special highlight was the special food for my father ,which wasn’t on the menu but was accommodated without any issue – such a thoughtful gesture! I want to extend a big thank you to our waitress, Shonna, for being so welcoming, helpful, organized, and supportive throughout the evening. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. A special shoutout to Josie and Dave for the delicious food and for creating an incredible dish for our large group. The presentation was stunning – a long platter with fried rice at the base, topped with seafood, chicken, beef, grilled vegetables, and even fruits. It was not only creative but also absolutely delicious. My husband and all our guests were so impressed and pleased. We are so grateful for such a wonderful evening and will definitely be coming back soon!

We held my son's baptism party at the restaurant (20 guests) and all I can say is I'm so happy I put my trust into Josie and her colleagues to give us an amazing afternoon. The food and presentation was outstanding. My guests kept complimenting after every dish! We went with an Italian style meal (bruscetta, calamari, salad, pasta, main courses of beef chicken or salmon) and tea/coffee). Wine selection was great also. The cost was very reasonable also. I am so impressed and would absolutely book another event here!! Thank you so much Josie & team!!

Hey Barrie, there is a great little gem of a restaurant in your midst! A little off the beaten path but we are glad we found it. We had some business on the SW end of Barrie, up from Alliston, so searched for a nice independent spot to eat. And behold, Grillicious! We met the co-owners Dave and Josie and heard about the ideals of the restaurant, which is essentially well prepared healthy food. Well, they hit their objective and then some. I eat pork so had the pulled pork sandwich. My wife doesn’t eat pork, so had the pulled Jack-fruit alternative . Both of us were very pleased, the BBQ sauce is pretty special. The Strawberry salad to start was very tasty, we split it, and topped off the meal with a homemade lime cheesecake and raspberry ice cream cheesecake, both well worth checking out. Grillicious is 35 minutes from home, but we will be back, it’s a drive worth taking!

My daughter held a family event there today for 20 people. We were made to feel so welcome on arrival. Our lunch consisted of bruscietta, calamari, salad, pasta, and a main of either steak, chicken, or salmon. Wine and sparkling wine were also included. All food arrived in a timely fashion to have a wonderful, casual afternoon. Even the children were offered kid friendly food and drinks. Staff were attentive to everyone. Well done!

So glad to find Grillicious again! This location is very nicely decorated, nice patio, very clean. The service staff were very professional and friendly. The menu is inventive and interesting. The lumpia spring rolls are delicious. We had the garlic shrimp, which was a good portion and very tasty. The chicken marsala was fantastic and the smoked trout salad was deliciously smoky with tons of arugula and tomatoes. The finale was a fresh summer strawberry ice cream cake (how many restaurants have ice cream cake?) and it was perfect. So many other menu items we can't wait to try!

Great neighborhood restaurant with a patio tucked away in a small plaza in south Barrie. The menu has good variety, but our favourites are Chef Josie’s delicious fusion dishes with Bulgogi Beef or Curry. Nice reasonably priced wine list featuring local wines and good beer choices. With outdoor seating under umbrellas, your furry friends can join you while enjoying complimentary water service. The menu boasts classic pub fare like juicy burgers and crispy chicken wings alongside an impressive selection of shareable appetizers such as calamari and loaded potato skins.
Malones Pint House in Barrie is one of those places that never disappoints when you’re looking for a casual yet lively spot to enjoy great food and drinks. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between a neighborhood pub and a sports bar, making it a great choice whether you’re out with friends, catching the game, or just in the mood for a laid-back night out. One of the true standouts here is the wings—without question, some of the best in Barrie. They come out hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, with a wide variety of sauces and flavors that cater to every taste. Whether you like them sweet, spicy, tangy, or smoky, Malones delivers. They don’t skimp on portion sizes either, which makes sharing around the table a fun experience. All in all, Malones Pint House is a Barrie gem and easily one of the top go-to spots in town for wings, drinks, and a good time.

Cool Barrie bar. We've only had drinks a couple of times. Prices are reasonable. This place is lively even in the afternoons. It looks like all regulars at the bar. Even though neighbourhood can be described as a bit sketchy, clients in this bar were not. We hope to be regulars one day.

Be careful. They are consciously adding items to your bill. It’s a well known issue with locals. Please check your bill. Multiple stories. I live close by and locals have told me to check my bill for over charges. I started looking at previous bills and indeed they were all overcharged by a pint or two. Fast forward, I was thinking no way but I was just there and noticed a pint that I didn’t order and mentioned it to the waitress. She immediately said sorry and said then she noticed a second drink I even missed and removed them both. How would she know that the second drink wasn’t ours? The place was full. Careful and please check your bill. Food is great, service is great but I promise they are running a scam

Steph made our day when we stumbled onto this local legend. First glance marks this spot as a neighborhood watering hole, but a quick step to the patio created a great outdoor space to enjoy delectably unexpected bites. My bride had a bacon burger, which threw me for a loop, but she raved about it, wasn't as impressed with the ceaser salad side said it was not crispy, a little soggy. I went for the liver and onions! So good! Only for the brave. My kid crushed the rueben that was massive and delish. And the pints were icy cold.

This place has awesome food choices! and having done takeout and dine in the food is done to perfection and tastes great! Only one complaint is if you're able to get rid of the ancient carpeting with the old carpet smell, I would dine in more often. However I will still do takeout.

Wings were 10/10 (big, juicy, good price) but the gar par flavour can be much better. Tried both the dry and spicy gar par (only two options) and both were not that great in my opinion so if your craving gar par I'd avoid. Otherwise I highly recommend. Dry Cajun, hot BBQ, etc were excellent.

As you approach, you're greeted by a striking Inukshuk, setting the tone for an experience filled with Canadian charm. The extensive menu features a variety of appetizers, entrees, and drinks, complemented by enticing nightly specials that cater to all tastes. This bustling venue is perfect for those seeking hearty meals amidst laughter and camaraderie.
This was hands down the best experience we’ve had in over three years of coming to the Barrie location. We came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and decided to treat ourselves to the 40oz steaks — and it was worth every bite. Our server, Erika, was absolutely phenomenal. She was incredibly attentive, genuinely friendly, and took the time to answer all of our questions and make sure we felt completely taken care of. Before we could even blink, Manager Rob was right there with our drinks — we waited maybe two minutes tops for drinks and water, which set the tone for the rest of the night. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and every detail of the evening felt seamless. Thanks to Erika and Rob, this location has truly stepped it up a notch and now delivers an experience on par with a five-star steakhouse. An amazing night we won’t forget — and it was all thanks to their exceptional service!

This patio is stunning 🤩 We went here for a birthday lunch and I was taken back by how big and beautiful the patio was! The draft is served in a perfectly chilled glass and their daily deals are quite affordable. We were thrown off by the service a bit… ordered one thing and received something else so we had to eat our meals separately which throws things off when you’re in a time crunch. Nonetheless we did receive a slight discount for the troubles! I’d recommend this spot for sure. We’ll be back very soon!

A Must-Visit Gem in Barrie! Dining at The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) was an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and welcoming, with its cheeky Canadian-themed décor and vibrant energy that instantly makes you feel at home. Our waitress was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right moments to ensure everything was perfect. The food? Outstanding. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, making it clear that quality and care are top priorities here. And let’s talk about the cutlery—truly one-of-a-kind! It’s a small detail, but it adds a unique charm that sets this place apart. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) is a must-try destination that delivers on every front. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food, stellar service, and a memorable dining experience in the Barrie area.

It was alright. The food was fine, I got the taco salad and my wife got the prime rib. My salad was alright, nothing special. The prime rib did not look great. She asked for medium and received an oddly thin piece of well done with a huge piece of fat that was probably 2 of the 8 ounces that she ordered. Service wasn't the greatest. We sat for 10 minutes before they took our drink order. Took another 15 minutes or so after they took our plates for them to bring the bill. The atmosphere was cool, it's basically a sports bar with a lot of beers on tap. Lots of TVs, somewhat loud but pretty spaced out.

The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) – A Surprisingly Amazing Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We decided to swing by The Canadian Brewhouse in Barrie for a casual dinner and walked away incredibly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was super welcoming, fun, and energetic. The decor is fantastic — you can spend your whole visit looking around at all the cool signs, sports gear, and quirky touches that give this place its unique character. It really sets the tone for a lively, feel-good meal. And then there’s the food — wow! Every dish exceeded our expectations. We kicked things off with the spinach dip, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. For mains, we went for their spicy southwest burger and the signature wrap. Both were loaded with flavor, cooked just right, and served hot and fresh. Generous portions, too — you will not leave hungry! Service was also a big highlight. Our waitress, Erika, was absolutely awesome — friendly, efficient, and clearly on top of her game. She answered our questions with a smile, kept our drinks topped up, and our food came out fast even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Overall, between the tasty food, top-notch service, and super fun atmosphere, The Canadian Brewhouse was a real win for us. It’s the kind of place you can come back to again and again and always have a good time. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and a great time!

We are new in the neighborhood and we were looking for a patio, to grab some drinks and snacks. We saw a great patio with yellow 🟡 umbrellas and we decided to give a chance. The host welcome us and I saw an advertising from their own website rewards program. If you sign in you can get garlic sticks for free. Shia was our lovely waitress. She told us all her specials we decided to go for blue Belgium that she recomend, and she brought the garlic sticks. OMG 😱 the plate is huge , we were just 2 people this is perfect for 2 couples. Good flavors, the sauce is warm I appreciate that. Sadly after that and the beer 🍺 we were super full hahhaha Shia told us all the fun activities they have during the week. Wings for 69c, bingo music and life music Friday night. We are going to be coming back frequently. Thanks Shia for your kind time explaining us everything.

I’ve ordered from here on Door Dash many times. They usually forget an item. On September 13th I ordered the fish and chips and chocolate dessert. Only the chocolate dessert arrived. The delivery driver said that’s all they gave him. That was a bummer because the fish is so good. Although last time the fish was burnt and shouldn’t have been served to anyone. Besides that they often forget an item such as my fries. Maybe it’s different when you dine in? Food is very very good though

We visited Canadian Brewhouse last Friday because the menu advertised many gluten-free options, and two of my friends have gluten allergies — one with severe celiac disease. Unfortunately, we discovered that none of the menu items labeled “GF” were actually safe for someone with celiac disease. One of the items even contained barley, which is a source of gluten. This is not only misleading, but potentially dangerous for customers who are newly diagnosed or unaware of the cross-contamination risks. Our waitress was kind and I understand she tried to help by consulting the chef. However, my friend still felt judged by the questions asked and left feeling uncomfortable and upset. Despite voicing concerns about safety and even considering leaving, we were assured the food would be safe. The chef recommended tater tots and jalapeño poppers as safe options. When the food arrived, it was brought out by a different server who was unaware of the allergy details and served the food to the wrong person. This is a major concern, as the original waitress who knew about the allergy should have ensured that the food was served correctly. My meal, which contained croutons, was mistakenly given to my gluten allergy friend — and if I hadn’t noticed in time, she could have been seriously harmed. And my other friend with celiac and severe gluten allergy even after being reassured multiple times that her food was safe still ended up being glutened and was sick for days. As a side note, the Smash Burger is the only burger without a GF label, yet we were told by the chef it was one of the only burgers safe to eat as gluten-free option— which adds to the confusion. I’m sharing this not to criticize the servers personally, but to highlight a serious safety issue that needs urgent attention. Food allergy labeling should be accurate, staff communication consistent, and procedures in place to avoid potentially life-threatening mistakes. Otherwise we liked the atmosphere and live performance. The hockey stick and golf club utensils were awesome. Unfortunately the patio was closed.

Brunch restaurant
Cocktail bar
Mexhico, located in downtown Barrie, offers a vibrant atmosphere with festive decor and live music. The restaurant specializes in plant-based Mexican cuisine that impresses both vegans and non-vegans alike. Dishes like tacos, enchiladas, and Huarache are served on beautifully hand-painted Mexican dishes and are generously portioned.
Loved my experience at this restaurant! The staff was excellent and the food even better! The decor was fantastic. Made me feel like I was in Mexico. I am not vegan but food for me is all about taste and they knock it out of the park. Hands down some of the best mexican food out there and for all the people on the fence about trying plant based foods. Do yourself a favour and be open minded to try new foods. You will be delighted that you did! Some of my personal favourite dishes are: Loaded fries with barbacoa Ceviche Fajitas Cheesy steak tacos Tres leches cake(so good) Will definately be going back for seconds! My mouth is watering just writing this review lol. Always opt for dine in if you can. As you know food is always best served fresh!

The food is freaking delicious! 10 stars. Like everything on the menu is a good option. Highly recommend the cheesy steak taco, and the fish taco , but you can't go wrong with any of the tacos. The tres leches cake is also awesome The servicr is also an awesome.

We were looking for a good Mexican place in Barrie and, since we eat halal, we hoped to find a nice fish taco spot — but we accidentally discovered Mexhico Restaurant instead. To our surprise, it turned out to be a fully vegan Mexican restaurant! The owner greeted us with a warm smile and kindly let us know about the vegan menu. We decided to stay — and we’re so glad we did! What an excellent concept and experience. We tried the Orchicas, vegan churros, chicken fajitas, Gringa, and the burger — and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were vibrant, the food was fresh, and each dish had its own special touch. The ambiance, music, and cozy warmth on a chilly autumn day, together with family, made it the perfect way to wrap up a Saturday. We left happy, full, and impressed. Highly recommend this hidden gem — even if you’re not vegan, you’ll love it! 🌮💚

Visited April 3, 2025. With my girlfriend and I being vegan, we definitely appreciate the restaurants that are fully plant-based. Searching online for a new restaurant to visit whilst out of town we stumbled onto this gem. Very welcoming, warm and friendly hosts. You can tell by the conversation that they are very genuine owners that really do want you to have the best experience possible. They sincerely care about ensuring you enjoy the food. This was our first time visiting this restaurant but it will definitely not be the last. The food was truly outstanding. We started with the nachos for the appy, then got the gringa and the cheesy steak tacos, then the churros for dessert. Truly delicious... coming from out of town I wanted to order even more to bring back home!!! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Authentic Mexican food, whether you're plant-based or not, you will really enjoy this place. Easily one of my favourite places to go! Definitely a must try.

I honestly was a little surprised how awesome this food was. I was a little hesitant to go in, because I knew it was a vegan Mexican restaraunt. I wish I threw that hesitancy out the window, it was fantastic! We shared a few different mains, and the flavours and presentation was great. Service was friendly and quick, and the restaraunt was nice and clean. If you are like me and unsure if you'd like it, I guarantee you will!

Had a delightful lunch at Mexhico. The food was delicious and came out quickly (not that we were in a rush, but I was surprised at how fast our orders came out) The service really friendly and margaritas were spot on. I am not even vegan, but the food was so tasty, I wouldn’t pass it up!!! The atmosphere was clean and fun- a cute patio outside and murals and throw cushions on the inside. Will definitely go again if ever back in the area. Highly recommend!!

Heritage Estate Winery and Events is a family-owned winery and cidery set on a 22-acre property surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Visitors can take tours to learn about the wine and cider-making process. The estate offers award-winning wines, ciders, and sangrias available for purchase in their retail store. It's also a popular venue for weddings and receptions, with staff praised for their quick response during unexpected events like storms or power outages.
THEA WAS THE BEST! So thankful for her and the rest of the staff at Heritage! They made our visit so much fun! Amazing wines and fantastic food and spreads!

The vineyard is beautifully maintained - kudos to the team for the excellent upkeep! We tried the wine/cider flights along with a charcuterie board. You can choose four types; some were pretty great. Did not enjoy the summer Sangria!! Haha The charcuterie board was a letdown; the raspberries were soggy, and some of the crackers were stale and soft. With fresher ingredients, it could have been a much better experience. That said, the staff were very friendly and efficient, which we really appreciated.

We celebrated our son Marco and Katyas Wedding September 20th a few weeks ago. It was a wedding to remember. From the 2 covered ports for the ceremony and cocktails right after, to the venue inside. All the relatives and friends raved about the wedding. Beautiful onbiance during the ceremony to pictures being taken all over. Just simply, a beautiful wedding to remember.

We had the opportunity to go on a wine tour yesterday at Heritage Estate and what a fantastic outing. Owners, Walter and Heather, have put a ton of effort into making this winery/cidery a top notch venue. Our tour guide was Saad and he was well informed about the location and was most informative. Once inside the staff was very clear about the ordering process and the presentation was just plain, over the top!!! Blair, the events Manager was an interesting young lady to speak with and was definitely on top of the days proceedings. It's difficult to describe without sounding verbose but the out buildings to accommodate weddings and the bar area were state of the art. The multiple outdoor fire pits complete with Muskoka chairs entice one to plan of a second wine tasting event complete with a light snowfall and a roaring fire. This is the hidden gem in the Barrie area.

Nestled at the bustling 5 Points intersection downtown, this gem combines a rustic country vibe with elevated pub cuisine, creating a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. Known for its delectable smoked meats like the Smoked Brisket and Baby Back Ribs, North Country also offers a delightful array of dishes that cater to all tastes.
Excellent experience here, Food, Service & Atmosphere is Awesome!👌 Kat is an Amazing server for this restaurant, She was Very helpful at knowing the menu & making the best choices based on what people like best. The chefs make great food, we got the cauliflower bites & they were delicious. My sister & I shared the haddock fish taco (comes with two), as well as a poutine & everything was delicious. My mom got the cranberrie chicken sandwich & it looked Amazingly delicious & every bite was eaten, so if you're a fan of that it's a great choice. Each meal was about $20, I believe the appetizer was $17. Good price for delicious food! Thank you North County, & Kat for such an amazing time at this restaurant!! 😊👍

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, the drinks and atmosphere are good but most of the dishes we ordered were weirdly sweet. The Cowboy Caviar lacked seasoning, the nachos had an oddly sweet seasoning on it and even the Caesar salad had sweet croutons. It seems they aimed to be fancy with exotic flavor combinations but I think they were trying too hard and missed the mark. Wouldn't go back for the food, but the live music is good and the patio is pretty.
André S — Google review
We went there on Saturday afternoon and the place was dead. We were the only ones in the whole restaurant. The waitress was very kind and friendly but the food was really bad. We ordered the platter that comes with brisket, pork ribs, chicken wings and sides to choose, the food didn’t have a good look and it tasted like it was old and just reheated with more bbq sauce on top. The brisket didn’t even taste like smoked meat. The bill came up to $150.00. Pretty expensive for the quality of the food.
Laura M — Google review
We came here after going to an event catered by North Country and being really impressed by the food. This time around, we were not disappointed! The Brisket Dinner and Brisket Beef Dip were both amazing and melt-in-your-mouth . We upgraded both sides to a Mac & Cheese which I totally recommend. The two caveats I will mention is that I found the sandwich to be a little too salty with the jus dip, and the North Country beer on tap not being that impressive. They offer a house hot sauce for an extra $1 or they will give you a bottle of Tabasco free of charge, which is nice. I loved the country themed decor and tunes. We came here on a quiet Sunday evening and found it very relaxing and charming. Our server was attentive and kind.

This place was amazing. I feel like the food there was way higher quality than you would expect for the price point and location. Large outdoor patio, open and spacious. It was funny because we asked if its open but the hostess said no...but if you dont mind potential chairs being moved around, then its open! I was so happy as it was beautiful out and a perfect patio day. Put this place on your 'yes' summer list of patio destinations to try outside the city. Our waitress/hostess/bartender was a superstar. She was quick and friendly. We had such a great time. And don't get me started on the food. I can't believe this place! Anywhere else, just based on portions alone would have been over $100, but for $60 for two, we had a fiest with apps, and mains, and pop. For example, our order of fried cauliflower was da bomb and came with enough to share for 4 people. We had tacos, salad, chicken sandwich, fries too and all was prepared well and delicious. Chicken sandwich was moist and full of flavours, so were the tacos.. done right. Fries were also very good. Super great location. Pretty central to all the shops. The inside decor was relaxing and nice too..I almost wanted to stay and order dessert just to hang out there. The booths inside looked comfy, inviting and spacious place so you don't feel crammed in anywhere. And when I was leaving, the busy waitress wished us a nice day and thanked us in the warmest way. I'm definitely going back to check out some other dishes. Good selection of pretty much everything. Insert happy and full face 😊 Five shining 🌟s

Ordered the full rack and wings platter with coleslaw, and it was perfect for 2. I am in love ❤️ with the Nashville hot sauce it's so good I couldn't get enough perfect balance of heat and tangy zest...ummmm! Came here with 4 of my friends and we ordered the BBQ Platter for four and calamari. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the sides that come with the platter. They’re actually really big and all 5 of us were super full by the end of our meal. Our server was soo kind to us and very accommodating! The food was really good, I especially enjoyed the onion rings with the aioli and the brisket from the platter. I recommend trying this place out when you’re in the area. :)

Visitors have praised the cleanliness of the establishment, including well-maintained bathrooms. The talented and courteous staff, particularly dancers like Mystique, Paris, Serenity, and Biancha (as mentioned by patrons), contribute to the enjoyable experience.
Had the best experience when I went with my sister in law and a couple of guy friends. Had a great conversation with one of the entertainers in the females bathroom and the service was on point. The bar tender knew what you wanted as soon as you got up after the 2nd time. It felt like you even known them for years.

Honestly not the greatest place anymore. Was half decent a few years ago but gone downhill. Beers are over priced it was $9+ for a draft that was flat and was not a good taste. Good thing there was a hockey game on as the entertainers are not the best. They are all older and all they do is walk around on stage. Menu looked ok and we'll priced but the sticky table was enough for me not to order. People smoking in the bathroom like go out side this isn't las vegas

I went there 20 years ago as there was male strippers and I was the DD for a friends birthday party. My drink was drugged and it was in my hand all the time. We all felt it was from a bartender as there was no other way. I was drinking Pepsi or Coke. Manager took me in the back with my friend and took care of me thank god!! I wish I would’ve went to the hospital and got tested and I wish I would’ve taken it further at the time. Still haunts me to this day. Other then that lol it’s a place where people get naked and they have really good food

Was average but then again we were there quite early. The server could have up sold us to some fancy/pricer mock tails or something, or offered us a menu. The stage shows were mostly cringe until we left a few hours later. Not to mention half the entertainers here are well over 40 and not in the best shape. Thank goodness there was a lovely hottie there to save the day. Hot dances and wonderful customer service. This is why I like going to the clubs as an ex dancer- the good ones always make it worth it!!! (More on my Youtube channel, Evolve Travel 1!!)

I’ve been to this location many times and each time was amazing. However, yesterday I was able to host my bridesmaid proposal there and everything was perfect. Our section of the restaurant was great as we even had a little counter space to put my cake, and the bags I put together. The manager and all of the team members were welcoming, accommodating and very helpful throughout our time there. They went above and beyond to make the experience lovely for my girls and I. This continues to be my favourite brunch spot! Especially since it now holds an even more special place in my heart since I was able to have a special moment here for my wedding. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been in. It’s absolutely gorgeous! ( even the bathrooms are impeccable ) It’s exactly my vibe and I loved it. The food was fantastic and the service very attentive. We really enjoyed our fancy brunch and would absolutely come back again for a special occasion as this comes at a premium cost. However, for us it was worth it, and it was very special.

Such a cute cafe. We were seated immediately though we did confirm the availability as they are usually busy and we visited on a public holiday. The food was heavenly. We ordered Nutella waffle. Their fries are to die for - probably the best I’ve ever had. The staff was kind and overall a lovely experience. The outdoor patio looked pretty as well, we just chose to sit inside given it was a hot sunny day.

The ambiance of this restaurant is great and that is the extent of what was good about this restaurant. There were only 3 customers when I dined there. A couple and myself. They attended to me right away and brought me the menu. I asked for water and it took them about 15 minutes to bring to me. The food was very basic, bland and lacked flavor. I ordered from their vegan menu and got their speciality Omelette that came with coleslaw, potatoes and slices of bread. I normally love potatoes and can eat them in any form, but these were so bland, no amount of sauce, salt or pepper could help me eat them. And the omelette. It was too thick, lacked any flavor at all and all the vegetables were raw. And the coleslaw itself just tasted like vinegar. I had finished eating in 15 minutes and had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to show up for me to even ask for a bill, which is outrageous! When I told the waitress that, she said she was in the bathroom. Which is fine, but wouldn’t you have someone else continue to work if one of them had to be gone for so For the price I paid for this meal, this wasn’t worth it at all. Won’t be going back.

Avoid this Place, Scammed our friend group. Me and my girlfriend left and PAID (40$ for 2 beers and 1 shot) our bill was actually 30$ but decided to let them keep the change. Our friends continued to play after we left and when they decided to leave they were told that we didn’t pay our bill. Then charged them 45$ for the “unpaid bill” which we already paid. They also stole our friends Yeti cup and refused to give it back. If you’re gonna go to a Billards. Go to Dunlop Street

Ok, so no joke, the owner; super nice, just a regular joe, serving our drinks and meal, I had the daily pasta. It was haddock and scallops in an Alfredo sauce. Fresh made Alfredo and a nice Parmesan, fresh shredded, my buddy had the Thai shrimp stir fry. Nice big shrimp and cooked and plated pleasingly. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The bar is sports bar but it’s got just the right personality and personal touch. Didn’t feel bothered by staff, but they conversed and it was a great time. Saving this one on my favorites list.

The fries were burnt. The place could have a makeover some fresh paint and some elbow grease to clean it up. A drive through would have been better for half the price. The big viagra advertisement sign before you come in should have been a big red flag.

Probably the worst food I have EVER had. Went with a group of 6, the orders were brought out separately. I ordered the $17 stir fry, and what was given to me was an awful tasting chicken breast (not cut!) on top of rice mixed with FROZEN peas and carrots... Thats it. It was awful. I will never, ever be back. The only decent part of my experience was our server. She was lovely. She took $2 off my order because she noticed I didn’t eat the chicken. Better than nothing. I definitely do not recommend this place. Don’t waste your time and money.

Ate here last Thursday on the patio. Server was fantastic. Place is nice inside and patio has a good format (other than chairs that are too low for the tables). Food was really good as well, except for that our burgers had a giant slice of a medium size onion as a dressing. I'd go for either a thin slice of a large onion or break up the onion. Holding back a star for that. Good prices on food and good specials.
Josh U — Google review
We stopped by The Penalty Box for the first time this week. While the visit was okay, this isn't a place that we will be returning to. The environment is very loud (even when dead), which is to be expected of a sports bar but it was beyond a necessary level. We visited at 6:00PM and there was a handful of other people. The music volume was the problem. The food took about 35 minutes to arrive, which for "bar food" is pushing it. We ordered a chicken salad, fries, chicken tenders and an appetizer. The appetizer arrived at the same time as the meal, making it a side not an appetizer. We ordered deep fried pickle "coins". The price for the appetizer is $9.99 and you get VERY little for that price. They are very thin and we mostly tasted the breading rather than pickle. The breading was very thin as well and not crispy. We ordered a chicken salad, which was good and we have no complaints over. The salad was a very large portion and was $13.99. We also ordered a 4 piece chicken tenders with fries. It was a large amount of food. However the price was $18.99, which is far more than other restaurants (let alone bars). The breading on the chicken was terrible and flaky. The breading was overcooked. Two of the 4 tenders were overcooked while the other two were cooked well but felt dry because of the breading. The order did not come with any dipping sauce. The fries were good and for the most part well cooked. They do not have much flavour on their own. While the food was "okay", this is not a place we will decide to visit again. There are places we like far better, especially for the price. For two people with an "appetizer" the bill came to $48 + tip. We did not purchase any drinks.

New ownership here, everyone working seemed really excited about the restaurant. The owner and the staff all came to our table and spoke with us. I thought the food was good and enjoyed the special with the pitcher. I think a place named the Penalty Box needs more hockey themed stuff on the walls. Go down and check out the Flying Monkeys Brewery decorations to see what I mean. Fill the walls with cool hockey stuff. Cause I felt the walls here were pretty bare. Get hockey players to visit and sign jerseys. Sponsor local teams and display the trophies they win. Keep prices low and build up a solid customer base.

Placed an order through Uber Eats for their Friday Fish n Chips special The fresh haddock was deep fried in a beer-batter and served with homecut fries, homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce. The fish portion was huge! It was crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. The fries as well were really good. The meal was excellent and the price as well very good. Overall a very good experience!

We had an absolutely fantastic lunch here! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted & made to feel welcome. The atmosphere is fun, lively & inclusive. The food was really good, especially the chicken wings, they were some of the best we've ever had, crispy, flavorful & perfectly cooked. Everything was fresh, delicious & reasonably priced. A special shoutout to our server, Marianne, who gave us excellent service from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive & really added to the positive experience. Looking forward to coming back!

First time coming to this location and must say it was a great one. Marianne is such an amazing person and bar tender. Such great food and taste hella awesome. And I was here for our monthly gaming tournament. Great spot.

The staff here are phenomenal, and make you feel like you're family the second you walk in! The foods amazing, Ethan, Alyssa, and Josh in the kitchen are magicians! The servers are so friendly and will help each other out even if they're busy too! I can't think of a better place to spend my time, and I look forwards to every visit. :) Avery, Kristen, Olivia, Jordy, each have been my server and I've never left here anything less than amazed and loved!!

I threw a birthday party here in their back room recently. From initially reaching out, to setting up, service, food, drinks, and value, this place was absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond for us, made us feel welcome, food was hot and delicious, drinks were inexpensive. Staff is very friendly. Everyone who attended had a really wonderful time. Laid back. Fun live music. I'll be going back for sure and hopefully hosting parties here in the future!

Came back for the delicious chicken ceasar wrap, Marianne greeted us and took our order. She was super friendly and had a great vibe! (And she spelt my name right☺️) 10/10 service
Theresa D — Google review
Unbelievable food and drinks, great friendly staff and just off of the downtown strip so it isn't crazy or wild. Boneless wings are to die for, amazing flavours and options! Only negative is the outside patio section isn't elevated and seems tucked away, however, a plus is that it's usually shaded from the harsh summer sun. Interior could use a spruce up, as well as the bathrooms but I know that takes a lot of money to do.
Edwin K — Google review
Ordered takeout tonight and it was a good experience all around! The waitress who took my order was super friendly. Food was ready quick. The waitress acknowledged me and tended to me as soon as I walked through the door. The wings were great, we also loved the fries! For 3 pounds of wings and a side of fries it was $48.57, great deal! We really missed having coops in barrie and it’s nice to have one back in town!

Cacao 70 Eatery is a delightful culinary destination that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Nestled in the Park Place plaza of Barrie, this eatery excels in both sweet and savory offerings. Their menu features delectable options like French crepes filled with Nutella and fresh fruits, as well as a mouthwatering waffle sandwich that strikes the perfect balance between crispy and soft textures. The ingredients are always fresh, ensuring each bite is bursting with flavor.
Came across this resto randomly and I must say- it didn't disappoint! 🙌🏼 The owner was a gentleman and even gave us a sample of their signature hot chocolate and it was sweet, just like his gesture. The food itself also tasted good! The price is as expected of a high-end brunch place but the aesthetic is def giving ✨ Check out this new place if you love good food and good vibes! 👍🏻

This place is amazing. I really only come here for dessert since their Crepes and Waffles are amazing, but their food is actually really good as well. This time around we just got dessert. We brought our little one with us and the staff were really nice to her and accommodating (even though she was pretty well behaved for a toddler). We ordered a waffle with Nutella and Bananas and chocolate cereal with a bit of ice cream. Also got a crepe with Nutella and strawberries. It was simply drowning in chocolate. Lastly we also got a cacao 70 hot chocolate. Soooo good. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for brunch or just anytime dessert.

This place is so cute! I love the decor, the staff are so friendly and prompt, willing to do anything for you to ensure your experience is top tier 🥺 it’s rare to find a restaurant that cares the way they do! Also the food…..10/10 recommend!! Like look at the Dubai chocolate strawberries and kanafe cheesecake 🥵

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cacao 70 and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and prompt. The highlight of my visit, however, was undoubtedly the food. I had the waffle sandwich pictured, and it was simply amazing. The waffles were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, creating an ideal balance of textures. The ingredients inside were fresh and flavorful, making each bite a delightful experience. The combination of savory and slightly sweet was well executed, and the presentation was also impressive. The drinks were also amazing and customizable too! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic meal coupled with great service. It’s a must-visit for food lovers!

I was over the moon excited when I saw that Barrie was getting a Cacao 70. There was only one in Toronto before this. The food is amazing. My all time favourite item is the fondue platter it is so much fun to get as a single or to share. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I came once a week for the first month this place was open. I can’t wait to try more menu items.

I went in today to get my 6 month olds ears pierced! I was so nervous being a first time mom, but they were very reassuring. They did an amazing job making sure I was comfortable and baby was comfortable. The lady who helped us took her time to map out the dots on her ears before piercing. They ended up piercing both ear lobes at the same time which I thought was a great idea. It was an awesome experience! I highly recommend if anyone is looking for ear piercings!

The Wheeled Brew Bottle Shop in Barrie, ON is a pet-friendly bar where you can bring your furry friend to enjoy the carefully curated selection of craft beer, cider, and wine. The friendly staff are known for their warm welcome and helpful recommendations on the best brews to suit your taste. You can also support worthy causes with your purchase, such as the OPACC and Celebrating Sisters Brew Campaign.
Where do I even begin… If you’re looking for the best selection of Ontario craft beer/wine/cider … this is the place… People come to this place as strangers, and leave as friends. The staff are all wonderful and engaging and make you feel welcome the moment you set foot inside. During the summer months they have a small patio that is great for people watching and taking in the sights and sounds of downtown Barrie. Also this place is dog friendly! I can’t recommend this place enough!

Unusual local bar with lots of character. Many types of beer, a few wines and no food. Unfortunately the premises is tiny and slightly claustrophobic. You get to hear every beer related conversation in the room whether you want to or not. 🙄 Service is knowledgeable and friendly. Little pricey at 9 to 10 bucks a draft. Overall worth a visit, a nice change from the norm.

Great beer and couch spot for unique craft brews and some old school arcade and video gaming. Friendly local owners. Feels like hanging out at your best mates place! Nice huge west facing window upfront with grand lounger and sunlight until sunset. Perfect sit down spot for some cold ones and afternoon chill.

Such an amazing atmosphere, absolutely amazing company but most of all, the best constant changing selection of craft beers! From the people who work there, to the product provided and the people who fill this warm cozy shop, it’s a one of a kind experience that will have you going back weekly.

You really need to visit the Wheeled Brew Bottle Shop in Barrie. There you'll find the most wonderful choice of brews, and Evan, the equally wonderful purveyor thereof. He'll happily let you know the beer that best suits your tastes and the products he carries that allow you to support truly worthy causes with your purchase. We took home a beer bread kit that helps support OPACC and a Rouge pale ale from the Great Lakes Brewery that helps support the Celebrating Sisters Brew Campaign. I'd give Evan + his craft beer shop a six star review if I could!

A very welcome addition to Barrie providing all the new release beer and cider as well as regular favourites. Cozy and relaxing spot to sip some great beer/cider/seltzer and chat with others...or can drop in to grab a selection to go. The owners and staff are amazing. Whether you are a craft aficionado or new to the game, they will find something for every taste. So happy to have more craft beer choice in Barrie, this shop has become a great go-to for me and my wife.

Wow what an experience. So much variety and the knowledge to back it up! For the smallest bar in Ontario they have the craziest selection. I like to try new things and couldn't even make a decision I was over whelmed. The staff talked me through the beers, ciders the spritzer and put together a few and the first few beers have not disappointed. Thanks Evan

Horsepower Sports Bar & BBQ Grill is a popular spot located near Sadlon Arena, making it convenient for sports fans to catch a Colts game. The bar offers 20 TVs, ten draft beers on tap, and a diverse menu including options for kids and adults. Visitors have praised the quick service even during busy game nights and highlighted the friendly and attentive staff, particularly mentioning manager Jen.
We hosted our company Christmas Event at the Horsepower on Saturday evening. Although initially disappointed that we were unable to sit all together due to the size of our group, we received top notch service and the food was excellent. The view of the game fromour seats was excellent and the servers went above and beyond to make sure our group was well taken care of. They even went out of their way to get popcorn from the concession stand brough to our tables! I would absolutely recommend giving them a try!
Jennifer M — Google review
Service and food before the Colts game was AMAZING. Coming here after the Colts game was a completely different story. Sat ourselves at a table before the game was over because employees ignored us after walking in, had multiple servers walk past our table multiple times like we were invisible. Had to walk to the bar to get another drink, bartender was great to be fair. Bar serves until 12am but kitchen closes I guess around 10 because at 10:30 I was told the kitchen was closed even though they run a after Colts game special for wings and beer. Pre game amazing, post game stay FAR FAR AWAY unless you're a regular then you seem to get service.
Taylor G — Google review
First timer here! Things to know that I didn’t. This is an EVENT only restaurant, no event-not open. Rink/event access through the restaurant so tickets needed to enter! You can also get spectators tickets for a table(6-7 tables) and watch the action. That’s cool! Your experience may depend on the view you take on this restaurant. If you look at it like an upgraded snack bar it’s pretty good. If your view is stand alone restaurant then… meh. Many other full time options are close by. The staff were mostly helpful. The menu small-ish with the usual options. Value was…? Quality was…? For me this goes back to how you think of the restaurant!? Great idea that needs some polishing.
Rhubarb67 — Google review
Terrible experience. We booked a reservation for the Globetrotters basketball event more than a week before attending on Jan 31 2025. Once at the restaurant we were given a small "late night menu" of 4-5 items (it was 530pm) - which was not disclosed would be the only food available when the reservation was booked and confirmed. I asked our server if there was any other menu options as our kids were not thrilled with the options and was told no, that all that was available to us was shown on the small laminated sheet I was given. The kids ordered a plate of nachos at $35 which they ate half of. Halfway through our meal I noticed tables beside us had burgers/cheeseburgers and asked our server why they were given that option but we were not. She replied "oh we always have the kids menu options". I reminded her that I clearly asked if there was any other menu options for the kids other than the late night presented and she had said no, which now seemed untrue. She told me "I dont control the menu". I spoke with the manager who was unapologetic and told us its not the servers problem that we didn't know to ask specifically for a kids menu (which I thought I had done by asking if any other menu was available for the kids) . UItimately they ended up removing the item from our bill but I can't believe this was the experience. We overheard numerous tables get up and leave over the lack of options, which we would have also done if we didn't have a planned event in the same building and a lack of time to find somewhere new to go.

Showed up for a colts game with my son, Took half an hour to get our drinks, not a minute later our food arrived. Chicken tenders were overcooked, chewy and dry, Fries were rubbery and soggy, Son said his burger wasn’t very good either. Overall it wasn’t a very good experience for dinner. Won’t be back
Meegs L — Google review
We have visited here many times to cheer on the colts. We made reservations as well. Love it!! 5 stars!!!!! Plus and extra 2 stars for Michelle and Jen the best bartenders, who kept such good care of us every time. Food was amazing! We will be back!!!

Collette pre grame was AMAZING and we had delicious food and amazing service from her, after game was a different story, their table flyer said they had an after game wing and beer special however when we went there two minutes before the game ended we were told the kitchen was closed after we finally waved down the waiters who were ignoring us, seems to be a different story if you are here every game but we were here with season tickets and couldn't get service ...

St. Louis Bar & Grill is the perfect spot for a laid-back gathering, serving up mouthwatering slow-roasted ribs and wings that can be customized to your spice preference, along with a variety of classic pub fare. Diners rave about their flavorful offerings, like the hot honey chicken wings—though some have experienced inconsistency in preparation. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, making it an ideal place to unwind with friends or family.
I've was never a big fan of St. Louis menu, but I have to say that their new menu has many more options and the rice bowl I had was absolutely delicious! The one thing that keeps us coming back is the amazing Beth 💕 There's not many people in hospitality these days that still believe in true customer service....but I can tell you, there isn't anything she wouldn't do to help make your visit a wonderful experience. From her attentive service, professionalism and kindness, she makes the trip to St. Louis worth while. Thank you!
VICTORIA S — Google review
This location is close to us and we used to come here because the prices and specials were decent enough for its quality. The last time we went we noticed that under recent new management the prices had hiked, everything that used to be complimentary (like an extra dill sauce) was now $1 extra and even the cutlery is now bottom-of-the-line Dollarama tin foil style. The quality has dropped so much, so fast, while prices have rocketed... We just won't be coming anymore. What a disappointing turn.
R P — Google review
Was here on Sunday and Shelby was great! No issues in getting our food/drinks. Always on top of everything. Myself, my husband and his uncle did the all you can eat wings. They were decent but VERY overcooked. At times, too hard to bite into. The creamy dill sauce for the fries were next level.

Food was as good as you’d expect at St. Louis, but the service was really disappointing. Our server did not check on us once after we had ordered, we had to flag her down multiple times just for basics like water, takeout boxes, and even the bill. Seemed like she couldn’t care less😬

I'm editing my review for the time being. Under reservership. I ordered skip the dishes and got wings I completely thought were amazing and was thinking they stepped the game up. I told my wife this so instead of skip the dishes she went and picked up tonight. Hot honey chicken wings. Flavour was good.but remember when your grandmother asked you if you want steak and she put a fast fry in the oven at 425 for 45 minutes. Those were just my burnt chewy over cooked chicken wings. I was way to hungry to go back and complain. So I'm just going to leave this here. First worst experience from this place and I usually really enjoy it. Please do better. I didn't ask for double fried burnt wings!

Awesome Irish pub right on the Five Points. (Not just one patio, but two!). They have chefs, not cooks... Fantastic portion sizes and presentation. They have the Guinness company beers, and a variety of others. The staff are all fantastic, and the owner is a hard-working angel. Live music on weekends never disappoints, and there's room for the band and dancing. There are a lot of places downtown, but this is my favourite go-to place for sure!

Mc Finn’s is hands down one of the coziest and most welcoming pubs I’ve ever been to. The environment is warm, authentic, and full of charm—exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional Irish pub. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just makes you want to settle in and stay a while. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make sure you feel at home. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and it shows in the quality of service. Now let’s talk drinks—if you haven’t tried their Irish Espresso Martini, you’re seriously missing out. It’s rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. And the Irish Lemonade? Refreshing, crisp, and just the right amount of kick. Both are absolute must-haves and easily the best I’ve had anywhere. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or planning to spend the evening, Mc Finn’s is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

We went on a Saturday night so it was pretty busy, they also had a party in the back, so it took a bit of time for our food and everything to come, but the staff is very kind. The staff were absolutely amazing so polite, attentive, and on the ball the entire time, constantly checking in on our big group without being overbearing. It’s rare to find service like this these days, and it really made the experience even better. Huge credit to the management for hiring such well-mannered and professional staff. We’ll definitely be returning again. Highly recommend!

Ceara and Brianne made our visit to McFinns exceptional. They were kind and so friendly. I've never been here before and always felt this bar had a bad reputation but that was under the previous business who had ownership. I will definitely be telling all my friends about this bar that has risen like a Phoenix after new ownership. They've truly restored the brand. Thank you for a surprisingly and fantastic night out. Great food and drink selection. Sensational.

We love McFinns but wish they would bring back the spice bag as a regular menu item as it was my favourite late night snack.
