Brewer's Alley is a family-friendly brewpub located in the heart of Downtown Frederick, offering a casual dining experience with a pub feel. Established in 1996, it serves upscale pub grub and house-label microbrews in a stained-glass-trimmed setting. The historic building houses this popular spot, which features outdoor dining spaces including a heated rooftop terrace. The menu includes appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, traditional entrees, and desserts.
Family was headed to Cumberland from Baltimore. Asked google for a place to eat dinner along our route and Brewer's Alley came up. The servers were friendly, we were seated quickly and Bob (server) took very good care of us. We were seated away from the bar which was pretty loud. They have sections for seating including a patio and rooftop. We did not venture to the rooftop. This location is larger than it initially appeared. We parked on the street, and did not have to pay the meter after 5pm. HC accessible. Nice place to stop for a meal in Downtown Frederick. Quaint walkable location, with many shops and restaurants. The parking sign was along the walk back to our car. 😎 Spent $150 on 4 meals. This place also has a brewery.

This is a great bar / restaurant located in the heart of downtown Frederick! Awesome spot with fast service and great food. We opted for salads and they were delicious. Also highly recommend the fried pickles, they were really good. I'd like to see a larger variety of draft beers in the future but overall a great time. We sat outside on their rooftop bar

Cute little restaurant. Great service. I ordered the Caesar salad and the pita and hummus. I thought the pita was going to be fresh. But it was fried so not as healthy as I had wanted. I thought it came with vegetables that you could dip in the hummus, but, not really. See photo. The Caesar salad was fine. I would probably get something else if I came back.

I have not been to this place in over seven years. Pre-Covid. It has changed a bit and a food quality has gotten worse. The prices are much higher of course, but the food portions are much less we spent over $100 for two people. I would not recommend anything on the main fair in the menu stick to the bar. Food and sandwich is much cheaper. Probably better quality. Little disappointed in the way that place has changed since our last visit. I guess it part of the Times now our prices of skyrocket and portions have decreased and it’s just the way things are now so I really can’t afford to go out to eat much anymore. so we’re definitely not coming back to this place.

Honestly not the best night and I wish we went elsewhere. The main area has a nice vibe but we got put in this back weird room that was just beige with weird tablecloths and some weird looking art. Our server was very condescending. I was trying to order two shooters for myself and two for my partner I was with. She cut me off before I could even finish and said "who are these drinks for?" ummm.. Me and my partner? She was very condescending in her explanation of it being the law and there can only be a number of drinks at a time. Yes, that's fine and I understand. She was doing her job and following the law but she did it in a condescending rude way. The food was mid - I got a chicken wrap that was small for 15$ and dripped all over me. The drinks are very good at least so go sit at the bar and I hope you have a better time than I did.
Halie — Google review
We stopped on our way through on a Friday. We parked on the street around the corner. We chose to sit outside. The atmosphere is very relaxed. This was my favorite stop all week. We had the salad with apple cider vinaigrette, and the crab pizza. The pizza was very, very, extremely salty. I still enjoyed it. There was plenty of crab on the pizza. Service was excellent. We sampled several different drinks. I enjoyed the crystal wheat. Street parking was free after 5pm. We did not have any wait on the night we stopped.

Visiting Frederick and have enjoyed Brewers Alley twice in a week. Going back next weekend! I had the Salmon both times...excellent & crab dip appetizer, which was also delish. Great atmosphere & the outdoor seating in the front was perfect.
Alissa S — Google review
We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and we’re not disappointed. The Old Bay wings and pizza were really good! The rooftop bar area is a great place on a beautiful day. Service was very good as well, the servers work together to make sure you are taken care of. This is our new favorite spot in Frederick!

Black Hog BBQ Bar is a popular chain of restaurants known for its Carolina and Arkansas-style barbecue offerings. With multiple locations in Maryland and Virginia, including two in Frederick, it has become a go-to spot for delicious Southern BBQ. The restaurant offers a variety of menu items such as ribs, wings, sides, and drinks. Customers have praised the attentive service and the tasty food, particularly highlighting the tender brisket and flavorful sides like fries and greens with just the right amount of kick.
Everything about this restaurant is 10/10. Super friendly staff, outstanding food / drinks and the prices are very reasonable. Honestly, this was probably the best bbq I’ve had since being in Kansas City. Hats off and the hot toddy on special was awesome!!
Doug — Google review
Black Hog BBQ is great!! Beef Rib was seasoned and flavorful. Loaded fries was hot and delicious along with their sides of potato salad and mac and cheese. I did have the brisket which was too dry for my liking. I prefer more of a moist brisket but it was fine. Definitely recommend Black Hog for BBQ.
Aaron C — Google review
Better than I was anticipating. If smokey is not your thing, then this place isn't for you because smokey is the ONLY flavor there is. Brisket needs seasoning. Just salt and pepper would be better than nothing. Fresh cut fries are always nice, and the house made Mac n cheese was pretty decent. They had a few good sauces, too. Overall, It'll work in a pinch. Maybe the other meats are better.
Camerons C — Google review
Me and the family decided to give this place a try and this place was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the menu was very basic and simple. The staff was also terrific. Now onto the burger and fries that I ordered. It's probably one of the best juiciest burgers that I've ever had. Plenty of toppings and the French fries were seasoned to perfection. The rest of the family all ordered ribs and they said everything was top notch with huge portions of sides. My only regret is not posting pictures of the beautiful burger. Don't worry, I will add them on my next visit. This place is definitely five out of five and I highly recommend this place if you live ribs and a darn good burger.

Love the Bbq here. Some new to me items since I had not been there in a year. Reliable quality and taste. Great service and Gluten free options are plentiful.

Delicious Brisket and Pork Street Tacos! Their Mule was tasty and offered as a nice stop into town on the way from a day trip.

The Wine Kitchen on the Creek is a charming and stylish dining option that serves a rotating New American bistro menu, perfectly complemented by an extensive selection of wines. The restaurant prides itself on offering a family-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for visitors of all ages. With its rustic-chic ambiance and delectable seasonal dishes, this establishment provides a delightful culinary experience for both locals and tourists alike.
We’ve been here a handful of times and honestly it keeps getting better! Today we went spontaneously for lunch and were seated in a booth near the back of the restaurant. It had a good amount of room for the two of us and we loved the privacy with the partition. The dill hummus was absolutely delicious. We were deciding between the Caesar salad and the mushroom strudel from the lunch menu and went with the strudel upon recommendation from our server. Very glad we did and were happily surprised when it came out with salad as well. Love that they have a good amount of non alcoholic fun drink options, and that dessert is a part of their lunch specials. 🤪 We will be back soon!

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the décor at The Wine Kitchen on the Creek. The stars on the ceiling, the unique lighting fixtures, and the thoughtful design details set the mood right away. The atmosphere felt lively and polished, with staff constantly moving around to adjust tables, clear settings, and deliver food—even from servers who weren’t mine. Our waiter, Kevin, was exceptional. He had a strong knowledge of the wine selection, and even with my partner being a sommelier, Kevin held his own in conversation. That level of expertise really stood out. We visited during Restaurant Week to sample their offerings. I enjoyed the shish kabobs, flank steak, and their house-made gelato—each dish was delicious and impressively prepared. After the meal, I tried one of their playful cocktails. Opening the drink menu was a delight in itself, with video game–inspired creations featuring names like Mario and Bowser. Unique, creative, and fun. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations. I left completely surprised—in the best way—and I’m already planning to make the drive from Baltimore (over an hour away) just to dine there again. Highly recommended.

Eat on the terrace if weather permits. Gorgeous place. Music. Waterside views. Great wine. Sam the sommelier writes the best wine descriptions ever. The Smith Island chocolate cake is to live for! Great service by Ian and Isaac (who also happens to have amazing penmanship.) Excellent French press coffee.

We always love it here, but this time was a step above even the normal experience. We went to celebrate our anniversary, and they wrote us a hand-written card! The food is always incredible and so well thought through. The cocktails AND mocktails were complex and interesting. This is our favorite special occasions spot!
Zachary D — Google review
We had an absolutely phenomenal meal at The Wine Kitchen—easily the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. From start to finish, the service was spectacular and the food was nothing short of delicious. Every single bite was packed with flavor and expertly prepared. Our server, Dwayne, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable with his warm and patient service. We were pleasantly surprised to be dining during Restaurant Week, which offered a great variety of options. For starters, we enjoyed the sourdough bread with wildflower honey—simple yet exquisite. I opted for the Restaurant Week special and chose the Wagyu flank steak, perfectly paired with a baked potato and fresh chives. Alongside the entrée, I selected a cheese plate with some olive oil bread, which complemented the meal beautifully. For dessert, I indulged in the “pick three” homemade ice creams: caramel coconut, sorbet, and vanilla—each one rich and creamy, a perfect sweet finish. (Another part of the Resturant week deal). On the drinks side, I ordered a refreshing Cosmopolitan and a glass of wine, while my mom tried one of their new signature cocktails—a mezcal margarita—which she thoroughly enjoyed. The ambiance was equally impressive. We were seated in a cozy, intimate private booth adorned with gorgeous wallpaper that created a charming, scenic backdrop. It made the evening feel truly special and memorable. I can’t rave enough about The Wine Kitchen. If you’re looking for exquisite food, attentive service (especially from Dwayne), and a warm atmosphere, this is the place to go! I’m looking forward to returning so I can indulge in one of their wine flights. They let you mix and match from all sorts of wine on their menu. Also excited to try some more of their appetizers. The menu is seriously so creative and there’s so much to choose from.

We had the most wonderful time sitting outside with family here! It was my second time back (visiting family in town) & Anna was our server! She was fabulous. The food was outstanding. Service was beyond incredible! Wine is always great. Dessert was unbelievable as well! We ordered a lot off the special menu they had. The peach salad was one of the best salads I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is amazing, inside & outside!
Hannah R — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Frederick. Food was delicious and the service was immaculate. Our waitress was very accommodating and went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our dining experience. Thank you! We will be back.

I tried the vegan bolgogi mushroom tacos appetizer and the vegan casarecce entree (pictured). Both were absolutely incredible! The atmosphere was great, perfect for a date night. The service was also excellent! I love that the menu is seasonal - I’m excited to try what’a next!

The Tasting Room is a contemporary bar and eatery located in Downtown Frederick, Maryland. Since 2001, it has been offering a sophisticated dining experience with an extensive wine list. The menu features a fusion of international European cuisine, including dishes like PEI mussels, sea scallops, duck, lamb, and filet mignon. Visitors have praised the Panko Shrimp as an appetizer and the fillet as one of the best in town.
We had an early dinner on Saturday and were seated right away. The service was excellent, and the food overall was delicious. That said, the crab cakes were a little too dry for my liking. I wouldn’t order them again and would likely opt for the smoked duck next time—it was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The Spanish octopus was also excellent.
H D — Google review
Everything was absolutely delicious and the service is always top notch! I forgot how much I love the Tasting Room - both the food and cocktails. We started with the burrata appetizer - Very refreshing with the peach and frisee. For our entrees we got the rack of lamb and stone bass. Absolutely loved the taro croquette that came with the stone bass. Husband really enjoyed the lamb. We ended the night with the matcha strawberry Creme brûlée and the molten butter cake (SO GOOD). For drinks, I got the espresso martini (best in town) and husband had the refresa. Highly recommend for a nice dinner downtown!

A must try if you're in the area!! Actually, this is a must try, even if you have to drive outside the area. We stopped in for happy hour - great cocktails and we had a lot of them but sadly I did not take many pictures. Really liked the atmosphere and the bartender was so nice! I'll be back!

My wife and I were celebrating our 10-year anniversary. They gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate. We started off with the pear salad and brussel sprouts, which were absolutely incredible. For dinner we had the scallops and the dry aged burger. I think it was probably the best burger I had in my life. I highly recommend it! For dessert, we had the pumpkin creme brulee. It was delicious! I can't recommend this place enough. The prices were very fair, especially when you consider how amazing everything tasted.
Bobby M — Google review
Really nice spot downtown. Wednesday is half priced bottles of wine, so I went with the chablis. It was delicious. Paired well with my meal. The mussels were delicious. They were cooked and served in a curry sauce that was drinkable, it was so good. The bread they give you for dipping has a nice flavor, as well. Toasted but still soft. The scallops were in another, totally different curry. Lacked a little bit of luster compared to the mouth full of flavor with every bite like the mussels, but still tasty. The scallops were nice and soft. Not chewy at all. I ended with the white lava cake for dessert. Topped with their house made vanilla bean ice cream, and a lemon sauce on the bottom thay was amazing. Overall, it was a really delicious meal. I highly recommend it, and i will definitely return.
Camerons C — Google review
I would definitely recommend making a reservation at The Tasting Room, as it’s a popular choice for fine dining in downtown Frederick, where options are somewhat limited. For parking, the Church Street garage is your best bet, though if you’re lucky, you might find parallel street parking nearby. I’ve dined here twice for dinner, and while the food is quite good, the atmosphere didn’t fully resonate with me. Both visits were for date nights, but I found the seating arrangements to be a bit too cramped, with tables placed very close together. The noise level was quite high, making it difficult to have a quiet conversation. Being right downtown, sirens frequently sounded outside, adding to the distraction. At times, I could overhear conversations from neighboring tables, and we had to repeat ourselves to hear each other clearly. That said, this was on a busy Saturday night, so weekday experiences might be more subdued. On the bright side, their happy hour is fantastic—though it’s bar-only—and the cocktails are delicious. While I’m not the biggest fan of the espresso martini, the Lily Pad is my go-to, and their old-fashioned is consistently solid. Overall, The Tasting Room is a great spot for a quick drink or a more casual outing, and with a reservation, it’s well worth a visit.
Kenzie K — Google review
When we got there, it started off kind of rough. They sat us sort of in the middle of the dining room with a table that was lopsided. But when the waitress came over, she immediately fixed the table and brought us eacgh glass of Prosecco for our anniversary. It was very sweet. We ordered the charcuterie platter, which was delicious. The we couldn't decide on what wine we wanted since he wanted steak and I wanted seafood. The Somalia came over and made some great suggestions and we ended up finding a bottle that we both agreed on based on her recommendation. He got the Wagyu steak frites and I got the linguine and clams. It took a really long time to get the food. But it was worth it. His steak was off the chain. My linguine and clam sauce was a little under-seasoned. But the pasta was really well done and the clams were perfect. We got the butter cake for dessert, soooo good. Overall a great experience!

Review: The Tasting Room – A Longtime Favorite, but a Disappointing Change My wife and I have been dining at The Tasting Room for over 20 years, and it has consistently been one of our favorite restaurants. The food, service, and atmosphere have always been exceptional — truly a place we’ve celebrated and recommended to countless friends. Unfortunately, our visit tonight felt noticeably different from what we’ve come to love. The crab cakes, once the best we’ve ever had, have changed dramatically since our last visit in February. They went from being a signature dish we eagerly looked forward to, to something I honestly wouldn’t take the time to eat again. I understand the restaurant recently brought on a new chef, and while I’m sure he is talented, I hope he reconsiders altering the dishes that helped define The Tasting Room’s reputation. Some classics are best left as they are — especially when they’ve been perfected over decades. We truly hope to see the beloved flavors that made The Tasting Room special return soon.

Isabella's Taverna & Tapas Bar is a charming Spanish eatery located in the heart of Downtown Frederick. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, and an extensive wine list. Known for its amazing food and fine service, Isabella's serves both meals and popular tapas, which are small plates of appetizers Spanish-style.
Isabella’s Taverna & Tapas Bar is a fantastic dining experience for those regulars of Frederick, Maryland and all those passing through. Straight up: if you have a chance to eat here, please do. After being sat down by the hostess, our waitress Pepper (amazing all around) brought over some drinks and gave us a minute to order. We ended up getting: - Queso al Horno baked brie / toasted bread / almonds / port wine reduction / orange - Papas Bravas fried potatoes / bravas sauce / garlic aioli - Empanadas ground beef / potato / cilantro / chili aioli / manchego cheese / pickled onions - Chorizo house-made Spanish sausage / mashed potatoes - Taza de Crema de Chocolate chocolate pot de creme / Spanish hot chocolate / fresh strawberries Everything was outstanding and came out pretty soon after we ordered. The homemade chorizo was so good, and I have to say that the taza de crema was one of the BEST desserts I’ve ever had. Definitely plan on getting one of your own. Overall, we had a fantastic experience here at Isabella’s! Can’t wait to visit again!
KyleOfTheBeard — Google review
We had a craving for tapas and date night gave us the perfect excuse to hit up Isabella’s. Straight off the top, the Papas Bravas - perfect chef’s kiss. I could eat a tub of these and come back for more!!! We ordered the asparagus fries and they were delicious! The presentation was great too. Served in a champagne glass with your aioli sauce at the bottom. Manchego Frito…..the fig jam and pear really brought this whole thing together. We’d prefer a nice chunk of manchego, not fried, on top but the fried was good too. We had the bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese. They were very good. Only feedback is they would have been homeruns if the dates had been stuffed with goat cheese. The goat cheese was more like a sauce the dates were presented in. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious. We love goat cheese and we’re looking forward to the taste inside the date. The romaine salad was exactly what you would expect it to be and again, it was good. Hamburgesas de chorizo - what tipped the scale on choosing these was the jalapeño aioli. There was no spiciness to them though. So if you prefer no spicy, don’t miss out. It is also a bit sweet. The tomato bread was amazing. The boss loved it. I was not a fan of the Serrano ham. Just a little bit too gamey for my taste. The only reason we had leftovers was because we ordered dish after dish. Otherwise, there would have been no crumbs! The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was great. We waited for about 30 mins on a Saturday night and it was well worth the wait!! We plan to return with the kids next time!! Don’t walk by. Stop in and eat delicious food!

Was visiting downtown historic Frederick walking on market Street around dinner time and came across this place. It looked inviting and authentic so gave it a try without a reservation we were seated immediately and the place was packed on a Friday night. Menu reminded me of tapas bars in Barcelona so tried a few items and a some good wine. The dishes came out quick and they were all excellent. The service was outstanding and the prices reasonable. It is indeed authentic tapas!

Very nice, chill atmosphere. We came for brunch and our waitress (Lex I believe) was great! The brunch paella was good, but our favorite dish were the croquettes. Service was also very good and we didn't feel rushed at all. Kid-friendly too.

Our server was incredible—super fast and genuinely kind! Isabella's is the perfect spot for sharing tapas with friends. Pro tip: the more people you bring, the more variety you get to try! Everything was pretty good, but the highlights were the esparragos fritos and the patatas bravas!

It was amazing! Good food and I've got no complaints except for one. There WAS a bug I my drink, but that's completely not their fault. They made sure to give me another. Oh, and we got a bit confused on the menu since it doesn't say the appetizers are appetizers. 😅

A perfect spot for tapas!! If you want to try a bunch of things and share with others, it's a great option. The fried asparagus, prosciutto e melone and sangria stood out the most! Interior is a little vintage-ish which is cute and the servers are attentive and friendly!! The only drawback is that we don't live close enough to visit every week :s

Completely loved this place! Skylar was a great server! Drinks were the Beekeeper and the red sangria which we loved. Appetizers were the duck bites (delicious!!) and the crab dip (phenomenal!!). For dinner, we had the meatloaf and seafood pasta with old bay cream sauce. Soooooo good!! The only critique I can give was that the carrots in the vegetable of the day were undercooked for my tastes. Too firm. Wasn't a deal breaker, so I'll definitely be back! Would love a few more gluten free dessert options 😊

Fantastic gluten free menu prepared with extra care to ensure safety for celiac and gluten intolerant from cross contamination. Great ambiance in both dining and bar areas. Friendly and helpful staff– Skyler is an amazing server with attentive care over our gluten free menu items ..and also lovely recommendations for around Frederick. Highly recommend!!

Tweeks Road Trip Food Review: I was on the tail end of a business trip, and one of my co-workers was looking for a Gluten Free food option, which is how we found JoJos in Fredrick VA. Not being experienced in gluten free places, I was dubious. All I had ever had was dry, poorly done gluten free baked items.. but this place was amazing. All the food was above average, and every detail of our experience was attended to. I highly recommend it if you're on the road and want to sit down, "cloth napkin" place with great food and an extensive drinks menu. Call ahead though, as they seem to really get packed quickly after 5pm. I'm an appetizer guy, and I love seafood, so I got the bacon wrapped sea scallops, and one of my co-horts got the gluten free fried dill pickle slices.. which were the best I've ever had. The cream and aioli sauces they pair with their dishes are also very yummy. For my entree, I was being good, but still wanted more seafood so I had the "Eastern Shore Crab Salad" with a half an avocado and a lime old bay dressing. That was quite good, even if it was $24. However, I wanted more so I also opted to add a slice of pan seared salmon for $15 extra bucks.. so it ended up being the most expensive salad I've ever had. Good eats though. The friend to my left had a really great looking (super big) crab cake with butter mashed potatoes. She gave me a taste and it was really quite good. The food was flavorful and the portions were hearty over minimalist/artsy. I approve! The friend to my right had thick slice of pan seared salmon atop bed of creamy, buttered couscous that looked really good too -- though she had problems finishing it after the appetizer. After it was all said and done, were were rather stuffed, and we each probably dropped between around $50 per person (including appetizers). More than I was expecting to spend, but hey.. I got me some serious seafood too!

Full gluten free menu! I tried gf fried chicken sandwich and loved it. The bun held together and was not gritty. There must be a bit of heat in the gf batter but it was delicious. No bacon for me but added pickle slices. I can't wait to try more gf dishes here The waiter was great

Tucked away in Frederick, The Orchard Restaurant is a delightful find for those seeking a farm-to-table dining experience. Emphasizing fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients, this cozy eatery offers a warm and inviting ambiance suitable for any occasion. With a menu that changes with the seasons, guests can always expect something new and delicious to savor.
Stopped by with my wife Friday evening and sat outside by the fence. Our server Rebecca was quite efficient and friendly. The appetizers chicken straps were delicious. We also had the 2 chicken sandwiches 1 with guacamole which were delicious. Definitely one of the better restaurants downtown, only negative was no liquor

This restaurant was cute and quaint. Very busy for a Tuesday midday lunch. They have lots of seating and outdoor seating it available. The staff are very nice and approachable. There is an interesting variety of food. From kabobs (special of the day), to Asian stir fry, to sandwiches, salads and soups. I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich which was pretty good. Lots of avocado, loved the sauce, and chicken was not overly heavy though crispy. The onion rings were a downfall for me. The onions weren't fully cooked in the middle, cold when they came out, and the batter was super thick. My friends both liked their mushroom pesto sandwich and tuna salad sandwich. Overall, it wasn't bad, but not anything that would make me return for more.

We had dinner at the Orchard Restaurant for the first time this evening and it was a fantastic experience. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The Curried Stir Fry bowl was so delicious! To be honest I was disappointed to see organic rice on the menu for the stir fry bowls, but the taste of the curry coconut sauce and chicken grilled to perfection had me completely distracted. Highly recommend!

Honestly kind of disappointed in this one. Came here to eat a nice, normal dinner with my better half and was a bit shocked at the food quality and price. Her chicken parm was cut too thick and was very dry, and the scallops we shared as an appetizer were $14.50 for a few very small, unseasoned scallops. Overall, a lack of salt and pepper knocks the food quality rating down, and the atmosphere is just sort of not there. Would look to eat elsewhere.

Very relaxing vibes from the waiter and made the meal that much better🧘‍♂️ homemade bread is on point🎯 we got grilled cheese and avocado, tomato, cheese, pickles onion sandwich, and bean sprouts hummus lettuce, cheese, cucumber sandwich. Fruit side was large and worth it. 50 bucks for 4 people at lunch. We walked around town a d was a very enjoyable experience. Would eat here again!!! 👌

If I could give 6 stars, I totally would! This cute, little but mighty restaurant exceeded my expectations! Not only do they have SO many vegan options but A VEGAN SOUP FLIGHT!!! That is bliss to my ears and soupaholic self, LOL! I had the It's The Berries sour beer and it was DELISH! Josh was such a warm and jovial server who was happy to share his favorite recommendations and the sour was the perfect choice! Not only that but to top it off, he happily took a picture of my partner and I and the vegan chocolate cake was the cherry on top! With great ambiance as well, this little gem of Fredrick should DEFINITELY be on your bucket list when visiting! I'll for sure be back again, thank you for giving us impeccable customer service while filling our bellies! 🥰💖🌈

I came here for lunch this week and the service and ambiance are amazing! The food was good, but not stellar. Which was fine for us since we were starving and there was no wrong option. We had the Gazpacho, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and Asian Salad. All very good. Would love to see some bolder flavors introduced. Again, the service was fantastic! I definitely recommend.

Cafe Nola is a charming eatery located in the heart of downtown Frederick, MD. The restaurant prides itself on using local and organic ingredients to create a diverse menu that includes vegetarian and gluten-free options. The interior is adorned with captivating artwork from local artists, adding to its bohemian atmosphere. Guests can savor creative cocktails alongside classic dishes made from fresh produce. Additionally, the cafe offers a selection of quality coffee sourced from a local roaster, ensuring consistent flavor and quality.
They had trouble accommodating our party of 7 (which included 3 kids), but eventually got us seated a half hour later two tables side-by-side. Once seated, service was great with a charming part-diner part-coffeehouse part-restaurant vibe. The food was excellent, from the utterly stuffed salmon/lox bagel to a generous eggy scramble. Mocha coffee was on point, delicious.

First things first. This is not New Orleans. Not southern. So get that out of your head lol Apparently, Nola is the name of a (former) owners’ Grandma. The food is still good. The weights can be somewhat long, especially on weekends. Very inclusive and accepting culture here. A little overpriced. What is the experience. The drink menu is crazy lol I got one of the drinks. Nothing to write home about. I got the fried chicken sandwich. It was really good! The fries are fresh cut. And we also got the turkey sandwich.

Absolutely this place! The service is always outstanding, the lattes are tasty and beautiful, and the food is fantastic. My Lox Benedict had an extremely generous amount of salmon on it. I get lox at every breakfast/brunch place I go, and I’ve never had a restaurant that gave this much. Definitely get your money’s worth here!
Tiara T — Google review
The top review at the time of my posting this says something to the effect of: "This isn't New Orleans, get that out of your head." But I think that's an understatement. I'm from Missouri - fried chicken and general "southern cooking" were not staples in my life. However, at least we had standards when it came to breakfast. If Cafe Nola is "acceptable" breakfast in Maryland, I should probably quit my job and open a breakfast joint, because this state is ripe for the picking in that department. We ordered breakfast for dinner and this was easily the worst food we've had since we moved to Frederick last year. We ordered two rounds of Biscuits & Gravy (B&G) with french fries - sweet potato and regular. Along with that, we got two sides of "thick cut" bacon. The biscuits were a step below Pillsbury canned biscuits: they tasted like they came from an expired discount rack at Costco. They were bland, dense, and mechanically uniform. The french fries were limp and underseasoned. You could see salt on them, but you couldn't taste it. Largely they tasted like the outside of an unwashed potato and depression-era sadness. The bacon, well... There's no planet on which it can be called "thick cut." It was only marginally thicker than microwave bacon with the same level of flavor. I've genuinely had better bacon from McDonald's. The gravy, however, which could have redeemed everything we got, was instead the most offensive thing we received. Not only was it watery and broken, it featured the saddest sausage I've ever had - I literally could not even taste it. The gravy tasted like pure fat (think crisco, not bacon) and way too much sage. There was literally NO other flavor. I felt like I was eating uncooked lard with a pinch of pepper and a handful of sage. It was absolutely atrocious. If you've ever had a decent breakfast in your life, do NOT eat at Cafe Nola. On the flipside, if you think Cafe Nola is a decent breakfast, you need to travel more.

Hootch & Banter is a chic and lively restaurant located in the heart of historic old town Frederick. The restaurant offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere with modern decor and a seasonally-inspired menu featuring modern American cuisine with French influences. Using locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant serves up market-driven dishes in a stylish setting with crisply dressed tables.
After days of looking into the best restaurants in Frederick it came down to the wire to choose a brunch spot for Father’s Day. Hootch and Banter unfortunately does not take reservations but if you read the fine print on their website you will see that there are some exceptions for certain holidays (Father’s Day being one of them). I was excited to celebrate my father but also have a good meal. It took a little bit to get our table set up but we had no problem. Our host was FANTASTIC, extremely considerate and kept the energy high. She was a gem. My family shared a bunch of appetizers such as the empanadas, crab dip, and wings. The crab dip stood out the most. I got the burger and it was awesome. The home fries were a great touch. My family loved their dishes. We brought a cake for my dad’s birthday and they helped to cut and serve the cake. What an experience. They treat us like family as soon as we walked in. Look forward to going back.

The food was great, especially the Brussels sprouts — super tasty. Service was excellent, Amanda was very friendly and attentive. The burger was good, though I prefer a soft bun like a potato roll over the toasted one. Just a personal preference! Next time I’ll ask for that option. The place is small, but cozy. It doesn’t bother me, but some people might find being so close to others a bit uncomfortable when eating side by side.

Been wanting to check this place out.... beautiful Saturday early afternoon so we snagged the last outdoor table...for 145PM it was BUSY... So the food was good....not spectacular but good...we ordered "The Banter" and while stuffed with pastrami it was a bit dry... We also split the "Chicken Empanada" starter and that was really good! Service was hit or miss...took order promptly but took 15 minutes to have a beer dropped at our table. The meal service was quite slow, but we were enjoying the outdoors so the wait was OK. However our server didn't return till AFTER we were done eating so no beer #2 😊. I will come back though because overall it was very relaxing sitting out front ..as long as you are not in a hurry.

Stopped into Hootch & Banter for an unplanned dinner and was reminded how good this place really is. We’ve been here before, but tonight everything just clicked — friendly service with great recommendations, fantastic food, and beautiful presentation. I had the Kidd Burger, and it was absolutely perfect (photo says it all!). One of Frederick’s best spots, hands down. Well done!

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this place. We arrived around 1:55 PM and waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Then we were told to come back in 20 minutes—only to be called less than 10 minutes later that our table was ready. It just felt disorganized from the start. Our server changed halfway through the meal, and my “Banter” sandwich had no flavor or sauce and came on stale bread. Overall, the food lacked any real soul—maybe a 6/10 at best. The tres leches cake was decent, around 8/10. The mimosa, though, was served in such a tiny glass that it barely qualified as one. Overall, a poor experience. I wouldn’t return

Fast service, no wait to be seated and delicious cocktails! We ordered a few rounds of drinks, specifically “Cloud 9” and “Last Word”. They were fantastic. We will definitely be back to sample food next time.

Three people cost $114. I’m fine with that bill if the food is delicious. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Only one of three of us was happy with their meal. Beef Wellington appetizers were served with a delicious sauce. They were forgotten. When our lunch was served I mentioned it to the server. He said he would bring them right now. They were our dessert because we were all done eating lunch when they finally arrived. They were terrific. The mushrooms in tarragon sauce with poached eggs was disappointing. There was just no flavor. It was bland. The home fries tasted like they came out of a freezer and were overcooked and dry and flavorless. Both people at our table say the fries were flavorless. They look beautiful. Just no taste. The lady next us ordered the truffle fries. I could smell them across the aisle so maybe those are better. My husband had the corned beef sandwich. He says it didn’t taste like anything. Just bland. The breakfast burger came with fresh veggies and the person who ate that said it might be the best burger ever. The Spanish coffee was delicious but arrived lukewarm. The ambience inside is nice. The bathroom was clean. It was lovely to sit outside with our dog even tho the day was chilly.

Bushwaller's is a well-established Irish pub in downtown Frederick, known for its traditional food, wide selection of drinks, and charming ambiance. The interior features a rustic combination of wood and brick, creating a cozy atmosphere. It is a favorite spot among locals and visitors alike, with its 18 drafts and over 70 brown spirits being major draws.
Went to Frederick for the weekend, and the guy running the knife shop across the street recommended this place without hesitation when I asked for a restaurant around town for dinner. He said, "You must go and get the Irish Farmhouse burger; don't question it, just do it." So we did! My boyfriend got the burger, and I got their shepherd's pie. The food was incredible and served fast; they have a great staff, and while we weren't at the bar, I could see that they were all engaging in conversation with the patrons. Incredible place, quick service, great food, and a dedicated countdown to St. Patrick's Day behind the bar. What more could one ask for in an Irish pub!

If you’re getting married dont bring your wedding party here. If you happen to forget your ID they say “its the law, no exceptions” however they will let in people right in front of you without an ID. Great to know we aren’t welcome. Take your wedding party somewhere else. They also charged a fake $5 cover. They charged the wedding party and no one else. It was clear the cover was phony and an attempt to steer people away. This place wants locals only, all others are not welcome. Tread lightly.

This charming gastropub specializes in serving up mouthwatering burgers, steaks, and brunch options that are sure to please any palate. With its inviting outdoor seating area, it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal on sunny days while sipping on local craft beers.
What a great recommendation for a one night stay! Best deep dish pizza I have ever had! A great recommendation from the server on what they are known for. Flavors were amazing and so was the cucumber salad. Seating right away and great music playing in the background. I highly recommend this place if you are in town, especially if you are walking downtown.

Stopped in over a busy holiday weekend and had to wait for outdoor seating as we had our dog with us. Once seated, we were very quickly served - excellent beer selection! Although the pizzas looked tempting, we decided on the Rasta Rice Bowl with jerk chicken which was delicious. The service was friendly and professional. We finished our meal with the key lime coconut pie. All in all, a great experience!

Friendly service at this small pub with an outside seating area. It's tucked down a street in from the busy main streets of the downtown in Frederick. We ordered the Pick 4 Detroit style pizza and the salad. The pizza was incredible, but there was very little sausage. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty over very good dough. The salad was a good size for sharing with very fresh vegetables. Both waitresses were incredibly attentive and friendly. Recommend this pub in downtown Frederick. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.4 stars

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ White Rabbit Gastropub in Frederick is the kind of place that makes you want to stay for “just one more” — one more drink, one more slice, one more laugh. It’s got that perfect mix of charm and chill: cozy enough to feel like a hidden gem, but lively enough to keep things interesting. Now, let’s talk about that Detroit-style pizza. Wow. Crispy edges, fluffy center, cheesy perfection — honestly, it might be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had (and I don’t say that lightly). Every bite was a happy little moment. Add in great food, a fun atmosphere, and friendly service, and you’ve got yourself a winner. White Rabbit is definitely a spot I’ll be hopping back to soon! 🐇🍕🍻

Best food I’ve ever had. I got the French Onion Soup Burger. Who ever thought of that idea is a genius. Also, the side of fries with old bay and honey was so good. I’ve never had anything like it. If you never have come here before, you have to. You definitely won’t regret it.

Everything you want in a gastropub. Excellent food and excellent beer selection and so much more. French toast was next level. Try it and you'll ask how did they get that amazing texture and sweetness. Spoiler alert, it's brown sugar baked to the surface. How? No clue, but additional senses are required. Oh, and the smash burger was very good too.

The smash burger is definitely the star of the show. Juicy, nice crispy edges, and overflowing with flavor. Their pizza is good, too, but its just pizza....(full disclosure, im not a big pizza guy). They have a pretty good tap list, too.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Frederick, The White Rabbit is an absolute favorite of ours and a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Having visited several times, I’ve been meaning to share my experience—and I can confidently say this restaurant exceeds expectations in every way. First, a quick tip on parking: there is a small, convenient lot with about 10 metered spaces right in front of the restaurant. After 5 PM, the meters are free, which is a great bonus. Alternatively, the Church Street garage is nearby and a good option for longer stays. The ambiance at The White Rabbit truly sets it apart. We’ve enjoyed dining both downstairs and upstairs, but I personally recommend the upstairs area. It offers an intimate, moody vibe enhanced by stunning red velvet wallpaper—a perfect backdrop for photos with friends or family. The upstairs bar features rich red lighting and charming seasonal décor, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Another plus is the convenience of bathrooms located upstairs, so you don’t have to trek downstairs. The seating arrangements upstairs, including cozy half booths, provide a more spacious and comfortable experience compared to the sometimes cramped downstairs. Now, the cocktails are something to rave about. Each drink is expertly crafted and packs a punch. On our last visit, we tried the seasonal Harvest Hugo Spritz, alongside an impeccably balanced Old Fashioned and refreshing grapefruit crushes. For just $1.50 more, you can upgrade your crush to Tito’s vodka—a small price for such a quality upgrade. To start, we ordered the empanadas and chicken skewers. The empanadas arrived piping hot and perfectly cooked—absolutely delicious. While the chicken skewers were a bit pricey for the portion size, they remain a solid choice for a simple, classic appetizer. And if you love truffle fries, theirs are simply to die for. For entrees, we sampled the Detroit-style pizza, the Smashburger, and Carmela’s Cutlet. Each dish was exceptional. The pizza, especially the Veronica, was a flavor-packed delight that kept me coming back for more. The Smashburger was juicy and flavorful, and the cutlet was generously sized—definitely perfect for leftovers. The White Rabbit’s menu is both inventive and approachable, making it ideal for a variety of occasions—happy hour, date night, brunch, or family gatherings. I make a point to visit several times a year because the quality and atmosphere never disappoint. Lastly, the service deserves special mention—attentive, friendly, and professional every time. In summary, The White Rabbit is a standout dining destination in Frederick. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, do yourself a favor and experience this gem. Highly recommended!

Dutch's Daughter is an elegant American restaurant with a refined dining room and a more casual downstairs bar called The Dungeon. Established in 1984 by two sisters to honor their father, this establishment is located in the Frederick suburbs and also serves as a venue for private events. The three-story building features five distinct dining spaces, each exuding old-fashioned charm. The menu offers classic American dishes such as French-cut pork chop and filet mignon, with a focus on seafood options.
Don’t sleep on Dutch’s takeout! Super impressed by the food we got, from the quality and quantity. The prices can be kind of intimidating, but there are some things on the menu that are reasonably priced. (Or you can splurge!) We got the blackened chicken Alfredo with mixed vegetables and macaroni and cheese (meal comes with two sides) for about 33$. It was 5 large tenderloins of chicken that were super soft and very well seasoned. They almost melted in your mouth, were so delicious and tender. The Alfredo that came with it comes on fettuccine which was perfectly al dente. The sauce itself was very good, buttery and creamy. What was surprising is how big and yummy the Mac and cheese was. Super creamy with a crispy cheese top. Definitely recommend. On top of everything, they give you (I believe) house made bread with cinnamon honey butter. Perfect addition to mop up all the extra Alfredo sauce. 5 stars will definitely order again!

Relaxing fun atmosphere with great staff and excellent food. The steak, prime rib, crab here is top of the line and mouth watering. You can chill downstairs in a more relaxed lively vibe or have more of an intimate dinner upstairs or parties, vip rooms in other areas. This is like a castle of wonderful food and drink. Must try in Frederick with that old school country southern vibe.

We really enjoyed our lunch there. The atmosphere is "dinner-like" dimmed lights, "heavy" old interior. There are 2 areas - one a little more formal with table clothes on tables, and the other with more casual seating. The food was great: we had soups, steak, tuna and kids meal. We are yet to try dessert, we got it to-go. Steak and tuna made to perfection - NOT overcooked. Steak, tuna and dessert portions were huge and worth the price. But what impressed us most is the service - not sure if everyone was like this, but our server Brandon was just excellent - just the right amount of conversation, with a lot of attention and little details that make a big difference in the overall experience! Recently, it has been rare to see this level of service at the restaurants of the same level. Very pleasantly surprised! We definitely will be back!

Restaurant
Pistarro's is a cozy spot in Frederick, offering traditional Naples-style wood-fired pizza. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with a bar and patio for guests to enjoy. They also provide dairy-free cheese options and various add-ons for pizza lovers. Additionally, the area features other dining options like Pretzel & Pizza Creations, Pop Shop, Glory Doughnuts & Diner, and Vegan AF catering company.
We loved the atmosphere, the food was amazing 🤩. Our waiter(Rogat) wasn’t the best took a long time to get our food order. We asked for tea and brought over the tea box, my daughter grabbed one to show my mom and he snatched it from her. The manager later came over to ask how he was doing and we said he’s fine because we didn’t want to start anything but should have been honest. He wasn’t very friendly and a bit unprofessional. My daughter’s bf came to say because he also works there and literally was asking him a lot of personal questions in front of us. My husband was very bothered but tried to keep himself calm because it was an early Mother’s Day dinner. If we go back we definitely will request someone else.

Me and my dad had a great first time here. Food was great! The crust on this pizza was definitely top notch! Parking was difficult for us, but that’s always a thing in downtown Fredrick. Kids look to be ok for coming, because there is a playground right next to the restaurant. We also had a really good server! We forgot her name sadly though 🤪 the food also came really fast! Overall, this restaurant is great! 5 stars!

The food here is REALLY really good! I usually come for their wood fired pizza but all the other dishes look great too. As far as pizza, my favorite is the Maiale and they have great appetizers too including fried calamari with pesto aioli and the artichokes. Their wine by the glass is a little weak but I will still charitably give 5 stars based on everything else. I always get great service and the value for the money is pretty solid.

Bartender was very attentive and checking if we wanted anything else, never had to flag him down. Food was just ok. The pepperoni on the pizza was delicious but the sausage had little flavor. Skip the meatballs and bruschetta.

Disappointing Experience at Pistarrio's - Slow Service, Cold Food My recent visit to Pistarrio's in Frederick, MD, was unfortunately quite disappointing. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that service was going to be an issue. We waited a solid 10-13 minutes just to be acknowledged by a server, and even then, we had to actively call someone over. Once our order was finally taken, the problems continued. Drinks, which were ordered well before our food, arrived extremely late – long after they would have been refreshing with our meal. When the food did eventually make it to our table, it was cold, which is simply unacceptable. Throughout the meal, we consistently had to call our server over for attention, as they were rarely checking in on us. The combination of incredibly slow service, cold food, and delayed drinks made for a truly unpleasant dining experience. I had hoped for a much better meal at Pistarrio's, but the issues with service and food quality were significant drawbacks.

We came here for lunch and ordered pizzas and an appetizer. We ordered Calamari for starters and Pizza Margarita and Pizza Donatella. They calamari came in a small bowl with 2 sauces, marinara and some herby pesto sauce. We didn't expect it to be small since it was a hefty $19 cost to eat average tasting calamari. You can tell it wasn't fresh plus no tentacles at all, why? The only saving grace was the sauces, they were on point. We wish that the hefty price would be commensurate to the amount of food. The pizza was average as well. It didn't wow us. It looked legit with the mozzarella, tomato sauce and the basil, but it's missing something? The same thing with the Donatella, it had porciutto, ricotta and arugula, but it was missing a balsamic sauce drizzled on top to give it sharpness and extra flavor. We want to compliment the crust because it was the best part. Thanks to the 2 brick oven in the restaurant. At least the staff were welcoming and friendly.

This was our first time there very impressed the food reminds you of the Sunday Italian dinners. The red sauce and Alfredo is also really good and would really recommend on anything. Our server Julio was attentive and helpful with suggestions. The drinks an hors d'oeuvres were also great.

Magoo's Pub & Eatery is a charming spot nestled off the bustling main street of downtown Frederick, offering a delightful blend of American and Irish grill fare. This intimate pub features traditional wood-lined interiors that create a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a pint of Guinness or sampling their extensive whiskey selection. Known for its Whiskey Wednesdays, Magoo's hosts monthly tastings paired with delicious dinners that highlight different whiskeys.
March 3, 2024 - Enjoyed lunch with friends at Former Mayor Jennifer Dougherty’s new pub. . . Magoo’s ! Long time acquaintances of J. D. and recall her 1st restaurant, “ Jennifer’s “ ( 1987 - 2008). She’s opened Magoo’s on West 2nd Street in 2009, similar Irish ☘️ theme, a bit smaller. The menu has several familiar items, with more salad & sandwich options! Guinness Lamb Stem Shepherd’s Pie ( with lamb) Fish & Chips Chicken & Chips Irish Bangers & Apples Vegan Sage Sausage & Apples 6 types of Salads Over 20 Sandwiches ( Burgers) *Vicki’s Chicken Club *Crabby Tom Melt *BBQ Shrimp & Bacon *Old Bay Hen *Mr. Magoo *Crabby Salmon Burger *MD Crab Cake w/Old Bay Extensive Single Malt Whisky Selection Our server, Meghan, was delightful & quick on the drink orders. Food served within 15 minutes . . . Our friends ordered a chopped salad with chicken, bacon. avocado, tomatoes, and bleu cheese & Reuben sandwich ( corned beef, melted provolone cheese, 1000 Island dressing, and cole slaw) which they loved! My wife ordered the salmon w/ lettuce, tomato, onion sandwich; I ordered the quesadilla with chicken, onions, cheese, and mushrooms. Both were excellent! Not sure Magoo’s has live music? They do have Whiskey Wednesday tastings, which includes dinner . . . $75 per person. If you like to travel, Magoo’s offers trips to Europe (eg. Portugal , Ireland, Scotland). It’s gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day ☘️! You might try the Guinness Stew, very good over at the old “Jennifer’s”! I read many of the reviews, sad to see so many negative reviews on rudeness. Doesn’t sound like the Jennifer we knew years ago! As Jennifer walked around to greet her clients, my wife and I found her to be very polite & easy to converse 😊

Fun place to eat a crab cake sandwich and have a pint of Guinness. Service was great and the owner was kind enough to give us a history of both the pub and her many trips to Ireland.

Wonderful little Irish pub in downtown Frederick. The food is mostly on the traditional side but there are Maryland favorites as well. The staff was friendly and fast. There are also good and varied selections of beers and whiskies. They had EPL on the TVs during my last visit, which was also fun.

5 stars because this is one of those special home-y hole in the wall places that you always hope you run into. Showroom, located in Frederick, MD, is a stylish restaurant housed in a former car dealership and offers modern American cuisine by renowned chef Bryan Voltaggio. The menu features inventive twists on classic mid-Atlantic comfort foods such as fried chicken, duck fat fries, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie fritters. With a commitment to innovation and quality, the restaurant serves brunch seven days a week with dishes like chicken & waffles and steak & eggs.
We had an amazing experience at Showroom! It was our first time visiting, and we went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Our server, Tori, was phenomenal—she was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, making our night even more special. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes. I highly recommend the steak frites and the short rib—both were outstanding! The drinks were also great, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for a celebration. We’ll definitely be back!

Overall very good. It’s a little off the main downtown area of Frederick so if you’re looking for a place to eat and then walk around downtown this isn’t it. The food was very good. No surprises - meaning it all tasted great, portions were perfect, and presentation was good. Service from the wait staff was excellent. Food took a very long time to come. At one point we thought they had forgotten us. Perfect if you’re in no hurry. Maybe not so great with kids or you need to get breakfast and start your day. The restaurant itself is very nice - we sat outside on their covered patio and enjoyed the weather. Nothing to see though - it’s in an industrial parking lot. Someone mentioned it was an old tire store so the location makes sense.

We visited Showroom for breakfast and had a solid overall experience. Making a same-day reservation online was quick and easy, which was a great start. The space is on the smaller side, and the tables are quite close together—something to keep in mind if you're looking for a more spacious or private atmosphere. That said, it's very family-friendly and not too loud, which made for a comfortable and relaxed dining environment. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and quick with drink refills. We started with the wings as an appetizer, and they were a standout—honestly some of the best I've ever had. Juicy, meaty, with a perfect coating of Old Bay hot sauce and a great balance of flats and drums. Highly recommend. For mains, I had the pancakes and bacon. The bacon was good, but the pancakes were a little bland—nothing memorable. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed the filling, but thought the bagel was a bit soggy (we're used to New York bagels, so we might be biased). We also tried the espresso martinis. They were okay—on the creamier side and not very strong. We typically prefer a darker, bolder version, but others might enjoy the lighter style. Overall, Showroom is a great breakfast spot with excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and standout appetizers. Would definitely return—especially for those wings.

This was a great experience! Our server Diana helped us out greatly as we were celebrating my father-in-law's birthday :) she was super attentive and gave her recommendations when prompted and checked on us to ensure we were enjoying our food. This was my first visit to this location and they checked all the boxes that I normally look for and a new restaurant; great food, good vibes, and excellent service. Everyone got different options from the platters with toast and bacon/sausage and crispy home fries to my option of bread pudding French toast. I also had a cappuccino and we shared pancakes. All in all I would give this a 5 out of 5 stars! We did make a reservation so we didn't have a wait time. This is recommended. - SupaFlyITGuy approved!

Great food and attentive service. Our group came for a work lunch. I had a Pitt beef and duck fat fries. The flavors were generally well balanced. I believe the fries were dusted with old bay. A nice touch, but could come off as too salty for some palates. Service was great and fast with all orders out in about 10 minutes. Atmosphere was nice inside; outside is industrial. Great experience will go back.

We went there for breakfast on a week day. Really good food, great service and atmosphere. The French toasts are unique in flavor and texture, the lattes were well done with a fragrant and fresh ground coffee beans, and the potatoes were delicious. Thacher & Rye, a beloved establishment in Downtown Frederick, was the brainchild of renowned chef Bryan Voltaggio. This charming restaurant, set within a historic brownstone, offered an inviting atmosphere complemented by outdoor seating. Guests could indulge in hearty lunches and dinners featuring regional cuisine, along with an extensive drink menu. The dining experience was enhanced by pre-fixe dinner events on select evenings. Patrons often praised the warm ambiance and attentive service that made every visit memorable.
Simply amazing. My partner and I came here for lunch on a weekend. New to us and thought we would try it. The butternut squash ravioli was the best pasta I’ve had. Depth of flavor, nice texture, and the goat cheese inside made for a delightful touch. The gulf shrimp appetizer was seasoned but you could still taste the shrimp. It was paired with 2 tasty sauces. The espresso martini was full of coffee flavor but not overwhelming. Our server was friendly, helpful, and fast. Absolutely everything about this experience was a joy. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Back at Brian Voltagios new restaurant in the same beautiful space. We sat in the front dining room which is less noisy than the one near the kitchen. We loved the food, presentation and dishes to choose from. I wish the tasting menu had a second choice for the main course. Se we ate from the standard menu. Delicious! Our waiter needs more training for a restaurant that caliber. But with that said, it was a wonderful evening with delicious food.

We came here for my husband’s birthday. Anna our server took very good care of us. The wine, beer and cocktail were crisp and refreshing. The spiced Gulf shrimp were plump and delicious. The cornbread was hot and had a nice crunch. The rigatoni was zesty and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their entrees of striped bass, short ribs, and bistro steak. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The desserts of chocolate and orange pudding and cheesecake brûlée were the perfect ending to our celebration.

Recently, my wife and I dined at Thacher & Rye for the first time. We were not sure what to expect, but regardless of what those expectations might have been, this place exceeded them. The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment we walked in the front doors. The hostess that greeted us was friendly and helpful. Anna G curated our dining experience and did so incredibly. She was knowledgeable and answered any questions that we had, and she was friendly and personable. She acknowledged my birthday as well. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and was delivered to our table exactly when we needed it. The starters (Parker House Rolls and Oysters) were beyond what we expected and the main courses (Burger and pork loin) were delectable. The cheesecake and an After Hours cocktail were the perfect finish to an amazing meal. This may have been our first time here, but everyone made us feel like valued guests. I don't think I could have been made to feel more welcome even if we were regulars. Everyone made this an incredible experience and a birthday I will remember for a long time. Though we are only here temporarily while my wife works as a travel nurse, we will be sure to be back when we are in the area again. Thank you to everyone for an amazing night.

First time here and will definitely be coming back. We got the coffee cake which is good to split and is the best we’ve ever had. I got the burger which was fantastic and my wife ordered the shakshouka. She enjoyed it but it is a heavy dish, may have to take some home. Staff was perfect couldn’t ask for better and atmosphere fantastic. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5

We had an amazing date night at T&R! The food was amazing and the service matched. I got the salmon which was great but I have to say my husbands ribeye was phenomenal. It came with the creamiest mashed potatoes I ever had. They brought out these corn bread Madeline’s which were amazing. Their buns were also delicious and the drinks were well crafted. Highly recommend.

We love coming here. The food tastes amazing and is very different from regular restaurants. My husband isn’t as much of a foodie, so he ordered the hamburger and it was delicious. We love sitting in the patio area on a bear, sunny day. It’s just gorgeous out there. They have coverings so the tables are shaded. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. The food is a little pricey, but if you love to try different foods, this is for you. We parked in a nearby parking garage as parking in the streets seems to always be full. The desserts are fabulous!

So the beer app untapped classifies this place as a dive bar 😂.... Seems to be pretty accurate I'd say 😂... So look if you want to stop in grab a quick beer and a bite to eat it ain't too bad and served its purpose. Can't say it had a wide selection of beer it seemed like most of the patrons were requesting mixed drinks. This place had what I would say the good and the bad side.... The good side was an almost Cheers-like atmosphere we're about half the patrons seem to be acquainted with each other or knew each other and called them by name.... On the bad side I'd have to say for 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon there are several people who were obviously drunk on their feet slurring their words.. And speaking of words two people in particular could not help but dropping the f-bomb every third word out of their mouth for 20 minutes straight 😂😂😂 Amusing for a while but annoying after 20 minutes.... We each got the special for lunch and I had a draft Blue Moon with tip just a little over 30 bucks so as far as the pricing goes good deal.

We have been wanting to try this place out for a little while now. Everything closes in Frederick so early so it was nice when this place was still open for a quick bite and drink on a Wednesday. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My wife got the margarita flight and thought all the flavors were good. Food wise I got the club sandwich and it was pretty good! The pricing, in my opinion, was very reasonable and the portions a good size. Overall a really good time and experience and we are looking forward to going back. Also, they have a lot of specials which are nice so keep a look out for those. Would recommend for a fun bar atmosphere.

It’s the kind of place where you can grab a cold beer, enjoy classic pub food, and catch up with friends without any fuss. The menu features hearty favorites at fair prices, and the service is always down-to-earth and attentive. Guests have praised the attentive and friendly service from employees like Allison, Gerry, and Tyler. The management has also been commended for their quick response to a medical emergency.
My family loves this place. The southern comfort food is standout and their drinks are fun and well crafted. The brisket sandwich is 10/10 as well as the chicken and waffle. The loaded brisket fries as an appetizer are the best fries any of us have ever had. Also a great place for large groups - we’ve had over 30 people here for a company party multiple times.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Bentztown is a true gem! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the kind and welcoming receptionists who immediately set a friendly tone for the afternoon. The menu is as fun as it is flavorful—creative dishes bursting with bold tastes and thoughtful pairings. Whether you're craving comfort food or something with a fresh twist, you'll find plenty to love here. Service was impressively fast without feeling rushed. Our meals came out perfectly timed and piping hot, and the staff was attentive throughout without hovering. We especially loved the outdoor seating—comfortable, well-spaced, and ideal for enjoying the fresh air while dining. The ambiance is relaxed and stylish, making it perfect for everything from date night to dinner with friends. And we can’t forget the drinks! Their handcrafted margaritas are a must-try. Each one is balanced and refreshing, but the peach margarita stole the show for me—light, fruity, and dangerously delicious. Highly recommend Bentztown for anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

Came here after the first place we wanted to go to had already closed the kitchen for the night. I ordered the autumn harvest salad + a strawberry mint spritzer (idr the exact name but it was one of their nonalcoholic), my bf ordered their old fashioned and their brisket dish (came with Mac n cheese and collard greens). Vibes were immaculate, our waiter was an absolute delight, and the hostess had us sat quickly. It's a kind of a small place but you're not right on top of the other tables so that was nice. Definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for a dinner/late night bite after a local event!!

I stopped by Benztown on a Friday night to kick off the weekend, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the food was outstanding. We had the Nashua Hot Chicken, Hush Puppies, and Smash Burger each one was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The real standout, though, was the Coco Loco. Easily one of the best piña coladas I’ve ever had. I wish I knew the bartender’s name because he made it to perfection. Friendly service, great vibes, and excellent food & drinks!! We had Sunday brunch. Bloody Mary was excellent as well as other brunch cocktails. The grilled oysters were also excellent!! Fried green tomatoes were very good but the accompaniment could have been a bit better, maybe a bit of greens etc (seemed like the ingredients of a fast good burger) Sandwiches were nice but a lot of bread. The hot sauce that came with the oysters was the best sauce I have EVER had. Autumn salad was also excellent.

The menu offers delicious options, including the Quesabirria special with generous portions and amazing flavors. The chef, Bill, is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is vibrant and inviting from the moment you walk in. Chef Billy and his team have curated an exceptional menu that delights diners with every bite.

The food was absolutely amazing. I got the chicken quesadilla and the flavors were very vibrant. Compared to a lot of other places downtown this was actually reasonable for four people. Although I did feel bad as there was only one server and she seemed overworked. She did try her best though to keep everyone in the restaurant happy and did a good job.

Great margaritas, food leaves much to be desired. We started with the loaded queso which tasted like velveeta with some real cheese sprinkled on top and stuck under a broiler and served in one of those cast iron skillets you get with fajitas. The result was visually un appealing as we were sitting outside and the table wasn't level so the cheese started pouring over the side of the dish onto the table. I had the shrimp bowl. Shrimp were tasty but the rice was cold and flavorless. My wife got enchiladas that were disappointing from both a flavor and texture perspective. Probably a great place for happy hour but would not recommend for entrees.

Stopped in after a networking event to get a quick bite and visit a few friends that were sitting at the bar. Got a couple of their tacos to try it out -- Korean beef and the Zaney. Both were super unique flavor combinations unexpected in a taco format, and really delicious! Hubby chose the beef brisket nachos and I had to fight for a taste. We will definitely be back for more!

Agave 137 is honestly one of my favorite spots in Frederick. The jalapeño margarita is fire, probably the best I’ve had around. The vibe is always good and the staff makes it even better. Shoutout to Sydney, Melaycia & Hannah for always being super friendly and on point. Definitely a place I always recommend to friends.

Firestone's Culinary Tavern is a stylish gastropub that offers a unique dining experience in an elegant setting. The restaurant features a vintage tin ceiling and a beautiful mahogany bar, creating an inviting atmosphere. With over 80 beers to choose from, it caters to beer enthusiasts looking for a variety of options. The menu offers American cuisine with a twist, and one of their popular dishes is the Chophouse Burger served with crispy french fries.
Last few drinks and servings at Firestone's Culinary Tavern. Heard it was closing due to the passing of the owner. Condolences to the family. We hope the business continues as their food is second to none in the area. We were lucky to be in town visiting our home and families and heard about the closing. The food is out of this world! Prayers and thoughts are with the families.

It was an okay experience. The food I ordered was extremely sweet and burnt, and not filling. My friend had a burger and said it was okay. She did enjoy the basil dip a lot though. The service was okay and the waiter was friendly. I don’t think I will return but I tried it because many people raved so much about it.

The Scallops should be called ‘The Last Scallop’. Any others simply don’t compare. Perfectly cooked and served over a godly bed of vegetables in a light cream sauce. Absolutely incredible pairing. The chef knows what the hell he’s doing in that kitchen. I also had the Poussin which was also very good. Atmosphere was lively even on a Thursday night. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!

We made reservations which I think was important because they were super busy. We were sat right away upstairs looking out over the street. It was a great seat really. Our server was great. She was very friendly and we didn't lack for anything the whole time. We were there for almost two hours but we had a starter and dessert. The timing between the courses wasn't too bad. Just expect to stay a little while on a Friday night. Our food was over all delicious. The bread pudding dessert blew us away. The portions are honestly pretty good. We will definitely be back next time we r in Frederick. The atmosphere outside was pretty cool so it was nice to watch as people went by from our table upstairs.

Everything was excellent. Food, staff and atmosphere! Oysters were one of the best I’ve ever had. Scallops were so delicious. I had rockfish and my husband had wagyu sirloin both of which were perfectly cooked and juicy. Last of all, we ate the best creme brûlée of all tume. Special thanks to the chef of the restaurant!! It was beyond our expectations.

Nice atmosphere over the two levels of this establishment with a full-size bar and a variety of seats and tables nestled throughout. When we visited, the calamari had an interesting flavor but was incredibly salty--almost too salty to eat. My burger was fantastic and the charcuterie board my wife ordered was well-prepared and presented. The apple cobbler was terrific, as well. Would like to come back again.

Highly recommend!! First time visitors & impressed with food & service! I made a reservation for our party of 9 to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. We were seated in a comfy "loft" semi-private section upstairs overlooking restaurant...perfect seating!! Tavern atmosphere as expected. Our waitress was very attentive, sweet & provided excellent service throughout our meal. Although everything was outstanding & the flavors created a party in my mouth, some of the dishes we had were the fried green tomatoes, crab dip, butter poached lobster with risotto, crab cakes, arugula salad, signature oyster & espresso martini. All dishes made with fresh ingredients & their house rolls are incredible! Must try this culinary treat located right in downtown Frederick (allow time to find parking). Excellent experience & birthday dinner!!

Decided to try out Firestone's Culinary Tavern for brunch. We have eaten dinner here before but this was the first time we have attended brunch. Making a reservation was easy. Using Resy we were able to book the 2 person reservation for 2 pm (they were booked until then) and had no issues beig seated when we arrived. Glad to see that restaurants are starting to fill up again. The restaurant is on two levels. A bar with some restaurant seating on the entry level and an upstairs balcony that had most of the restaurant seating. I love the neon sign on the left at the bar when you walk in - Good Food, Strong Drinks! Quite appropriate. Our waitress was Courtney and she was attentive and helpful in making suggestions, etc. I opted for coffee and Eggs Benedict (with extra Hollandaise sauce) with an additional fruit bowl side. We also had the Espresso Martini and Coop's Gumbo. The Eggs Benedict was very good and my wife enjoyed the Gumbo. She mentioned it has "a kick to it" (as it should!) and was made with homemade sausage and shrimp over jasmine rice. I really wanted to Strawberry Shortcake, but I was full. Overall a decent meal. Plenty of options for drinks ranging from cocktails, wine and beers. Enjoyed the food, loved the service and a nice atmosphere. Stop by and try it for yourself.

Restaurant
Sabor de Cuba is a Cuban restaurant located in Downtown Frederick, offering classic Cuban dishes such as seafood, sandwiches, empanadas, ropa vieja, pernil, and Cubano sandwich. The dining room has a down-to-earth atmosphere with a bar. The restaurant brings the rich culinary heritage of Cuba to Frederick with its aromatic and flavorful dishes. Customers have enjoyed the empanada appetizer and sizzling shrimp while finding the bistec de palomilla slightly disappointing.
My second experience at a Cuban restaurant, my first was in Miami which i believe was a little better the cubano at this one i stopped by with my wife, son , daughter in law and fetus. We had empanadas and some other app. We also had the first 2 steak items on the menu and the cubano with a side of beans with ham, every thing was delicious just the side of beans was watery. Way to go guys we shall be back

I have been craving Cuban food for a while. Who knew that in quaint downtown Frederick there was a authentic Cuban restaurant?? I come to Frederick fairly regularly as a bottle club member at Tenth Ward and Sabor De Cuba is right down the street! I was looking for a lunch option nearby and found this place. My favorite dish is masitas de puerco. The tender, marinated fried pork and onions do something to my soul! They do have it on the menu but I opted for something lighter in the middle of my long day. I ordered the papa rellena appetizer and a Cuban sandwich. The papa was pricey. At my favorite cafecito in my hometown in California, I can get 3 for the price I paid here but it was absolutely delicious. Not for nothing the sauce they served it with was good too and I'm not a condiment kinda girl. The Cuban was perfect too. Authentic bread, tasty innards, and a good portion. Service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely be returning!
Raven T — Google review
Sightseeing in historic Frederick opted to have a Cuban late lunch. Chose to outdoor seating on account of a furry companion due to indoor restrictions. We ordered shrimp plate which was quite generous with plump shrimp, flat skirt steak tender and flavorful topped with chimic hurri, mastita de puerco-a plate of deeply fried marinated chunky pork pieces with white rice, plantains andblack beans, hefty and filling and lastly arroz pollo like a cuban version of chicken biryani but milder and nicely seasoned rice. Service was attentive. A bit disappointing patio seating-limited space and inadequate shading from harsh summer afternoon sunshine and water bowl for pet needing some washing and fresh water.
Rick L — Google review
This place has the potential to be awesome but needs better REAL cuban food. Service and atmosphere 10/10. Food 2/10 not awful but no flavor. Bland food at high prices. I really do wish the food was better, I don’t mind the price point as long as the flavor and quality are worth. This food, sadly, not worth the price.
Ashley R — Google review
Taste of home cooked meals at a restaurant! I have been meaning to try this place for a long while now, but now I can't wait to go back. Everything we ordered was delicious, and to make everything better, it was also pretty well priced, we did not break the bank even though we ordered apps and drinks for two. The servers were friendly and attentive also! This is a great spot in Frederick!

When you are visiting a City and you want to return to the same restaurant you ate at 4 months ago that says something about the food! I am going back next time 🌟 Cuban food that does not disappoint, and I have been to Cuba 🇨🇺

This place is a downtown Frederick treasure! The atmosphere is inviting and the customer service is always great! Servers come around constantly to check in and offer refills. The food here is always amazing!! You have to start with the sizzling shrimp - if anything, ask for more bread! It is such a mouth-watering dish to look at and even better to eat!! I ordered the Bistec de Palomilla which was very tasty and filling. My friend ordered the Ropa Vieja which she also enjoyed. The serving sizes are great - I had enough for the next day. Oooh...I didn't take a photo but their mojitos are even great and well priced! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Had a great first visit. The cuban and roast pork sandwiches were great. Yucca and beans were fresh. Sauces were great even though there was a 1.50 charge for them. Overall, very good...little on the pricey side- $50 for 2 sandwiches and 2 sides and sodas, But you're in downtown and and we loved it. Lost 1 star for no straws offered for our water and sodas which I'm fine with, but know it's a thing for some. Will be back one day!

Pretzel & Pizza Creations is a low-key spot that offers a variety of pretzel-centric eats, bagel sandwiches, and pizzas. They also serve smoothies and espressos. The restaurant is known for its vegan options, including dairy-free cheese for pizza lovers. Additionally, they offer unique creations like the crab meat stuffed pretzel and a range of pizza toppings to choose from.
This place is really cool and the food is amazing! After order, you have the opportunity to see the magic in making your pretzel or pizza through plexiglass. My daughter enjoyed looking at the dough kneading process and coloring station to keep her occupied. Very family oriented atmosphere. The pretzel crust is light, airy and buttery on the pizza and pretzel itself. A late night snack MUST!
T S — Google review
We got Chicken Pesto Pizza and hot dog. The pizza was too plain, needed more flavor. It’s definitely not worth 4.6 out of 5. Matchbox is way better than this. I give a fair 3 out of 5. reply to owner’s response: I wasn’t criticizing the concept of pretzel pizza — I was actually looking forward to something unique. The issue is that the chicken and cheese were surprisingly bland, almost like no salt or seasoning was used. I get that styles vary, but even creative recipes still need balanced flavor.
Beryl L — Google review
Fast service, well staffed. Food came out in under 10 minutes. Calm setting, but if it fills up could get a little loud, but nothing outrageous. Their sweet tea is really good, perfect amount of sweetness, and the tea isn’t too strong. 10/10 The angry bee pizza is good, however, I personally wasn’t a fan of the feta (my fault for not knowing exactly how it tasted. The consistency was too chalky for me and reminded me of blue cheese) 10/10 if you like feta, 7/10 for me The pretzel dog was really good, straight forward. 9/10 I heard the inside out mozzarella sticks were “ok”. Rating 1: 6/10. Rating 2: “good,” 8/10 The regular cheese & bacon pepperoni pizza were good. 9/10 The oatmeal cookie craving ice cream was good. A mix between a crunchy cookies and creme and oatmeal cookies. 9/10 The cinnamon sugar pretzel was not too much cinnamon and sugar, which is easy to do. The dough was hot and soft. 9/10

Our first visit here and we loved it! We had a Philly steak sandwich, a calzone, and a couple pretzels. Everything was delicious and the staff were helpful. Highly recommend!

The food is great I have been coming here for years. But today after the girl at the register with the star on her face was so rude and had the biggest attitude. If I go back and I see her working I will leave. If she’s too good to work then maybe she should not work the register. When I’m spending $60 in food I don’t want to deal with an attitude.
J K — Google review
I liked it. No complaints. I had a turkey, cheddar, bacon, but with provolone cheese. The pizza looked good. The ice cream looked really good. The place is a little small and its hard to move between tables, especially to go to the bathroom. Typical pizza joint atmosphere
Emily H — Google review
We had two personal pizzas, garlic knots and split a coke. Pizza was okay, surprisingly not much flavor but okay. Garlic knots I personally did not care for- extremely garlicky, but not buttery. They were definitely missing that buttery flavor. Seemed like both the pizza and the knots were missing a little salt. I’m not an over salter by any means but I do like a little. Bill was around $47+ which seemed pretty high imo but everything is going up so not too shocking I guess.
Samantha D — Google review
I was drawn in by the sweet smell of dough, and im so glad I was!! This place was very lively, and active. It was very busy yet the workers were on top of it and very speedy! I was confused with the menu and the girl with bright red hair and glasses noticed my confusion and was quick to walk me through the menu despite being super busy, even recommending some of their best dishes. She recommend the buffalo chicken pizza, which was soooo yummy! The dough was super fluffy and very filling. I also got a M&M stuffed pretzel which was gooey and delicious! I enjoyed the atmosphere while I ate, despite it being pretty cramped in the dining area. They have a glass area to watch them make the pretzels which was cool. The staff are all very authentic and its comforting to see them all smiling. Truly an amazing find!

Wag's Restaurant is a small, underground hangout that specializes in burgers and classic American dishes. It stands out from other bars as it requires descending below ground to enter. Their happy hour, which runs from 4-7 p.m., offers cheap Yuengling drafts for just 75 cents. The overall experience at Wag's is enjoyable, with a unique dive bar atmosphere that sets it apart from the upscale establishments in Downtown Frederick.
Wag’s is a sweet little hideaway spot with dim lighting and cozy ambiance. It has a distinct “local” vibe. You can tell this is home base for regulars in the community. The service is efficient and friendly. The menu had several options that looked delicious, I was craving a burger and the Wag Burger did not disappoint! The special sauce was different and elevated the burger in a surprising way for an underground hole in the wall. 10/10 would go again.

Great cheesesteak sub and gyro. The meats are nice thick cuts of quality meat. The bun and gyro were both fresh and tasty. In addition the fries were really good boardwalk style fries. The burgers here are highly recommended so I'll be back to check them out. (I had burgers last night so had to switch it up)

This place is a gem; it gives real life cheers vibes. I went for the first time and was treated like a regular. I love that it's a little basement style area that has been around forever, so it has that laid-back, comfy feel to it. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and it was huge and honestly the best burger I've had in a long time. The fresh cut fries are just like my mom used to make growing up (think boardwalk fries), and we're delicious.

Group of three. We had excellent service, great burgers, subs and fries, and beverages for a reasonable price. The food was great. I would definitely stop in again when I'm in Frederick. It's a pub, so it is not overly lit. it is a simple local pub with good food. I'd rather have good food over atmosphere.

Lovely bar. Got the wag burger with wag fries. Was delicious 100% would recommend. Happy hour drink deals are insane. $1.38 vodka sodas. I have never seen anything like it in my life
Scott M — Google review
Great burgers and fries. Drinks are ridiculously cheap. It can definitely get very busy, so serving times can vary. But it’s expected with how popular this place is. It’s an underground bar that’s very down-to-earth and traditional. While I do like the vibe and want it maintained, they definitely could use a good remodel. It can be a bit musky at times. Those carpets have to go. 😬 Side note: I described it as traditional. As a member of the LGBT community, I have always felt welcomed. It’s a great mixing pool.

Roasthouse Pub is a laid-back and comfortable tavern that offers an extensive selection of craft beers on tap, along with delicious elevated pub food. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, creating an intimate and enjoyable atmosphere. One of the highlights of this gastropub is the unique boards that display the rotating beer options, allowing patrons to see what kegs are being tapped. With various pour sizes available, customers can sample a range of brews.
My first time visiting Roasthouse Pub was a slam dunk. I came in late on a Thursday and grabbed a lonely seat at the bar. I was greeted by a kind bartender with an angelic voice who gave me detailed information about the best items on the menu. I had a flight of beers and a ham brisket sandwich with redskin potatoes. The meal was tasty, the service and local patrons were all friendly. If I'm in the area again I would definitely come back here.

Matt D — Google review
I came across the pub by accident on Google Maps and decided to stop and check it out. The atmosphere was good, with sports playing on television and people sitting and chatting. The space is a bit small, but the tables and booths were comfortable. The appetizer and drinks came out in short order, but we had to wait awhile for our entrees. (A couple next to us arrived before us and did not receive their main meals by the time we were getting ready to leave.) That said, the food is absolutely delicious. I mean delicious. You can tell they use fresh incredients. The bread for the burger was soft and delicious. The brussels sprouts with bacon were beyond delicious. I had the jerk chicken tacos, and that chicken was perfectly seasoned and complemented with a savory chimichurri sauce. My wife tried the IPA and gave me a taste. It was refreshing and delicious. Our kid had the mac and cheese, and I need to get the recipe! The cheese was perfectly melted, not the grimy cheese you get from pre-shredded stuff in a bag. Someone must have shredded the cheese in the back. It was that good and velvety smooth. The portion sizes were just right. We will definitely be stopping by again because the food was great, the atmosphere was chill, and the service was very good. (Not 5-star great because of the time it took for the food to arrive, but we get it… Busy time.)

Excellent find from the Google community. Stopped into a really unassuming place small brick front building and in the front of a motel. Inside warm and inviting. Feels comfortable and casual. . 20 beers are on top of various bitterness values and alcoholic percentages. The staff is more than happy to help you figure out something that you might like, and the beers come in 2 ounce 5 oz. and 13 ounce pours. We let Luke decide for us the first flight based on what we said we liked For dinner, we were pretty basic, an excellent hearty chili top with sour cream and jalapeños, and a cool side of Fritos. Yay that was fun the roast burger, which was great with the maple, bacon, jam, and the house salad. We did try to find out some things that were in it but they wouldn’t give up too much… That said definitely come try this place out. I attach pictures of the menu. There’s something for everyone come hungry and ready to try something new. You won’t go wrong

Service. Fast and friendly both in the evening and again when we returned later for the DJ. Food. The pulled pork nachos, excellent. Not your plain boring chips. Everyone enjoyed there mains. For the DJ later. There's a cover. Glad we beat it after the dinner earlier. We drank, ate, and spent well. Security are some really good dudes. Easy to talk to and helpful if you had a question about something. The diversity of the crowd is what I really liked. Didn't see any egos. Everyone was having a great time dancing. I did catch some hints of NOLA. We are very fond of NOLA which we really dig. The ambiance is nice down there. Looking forward to returning. We'll worth the trip from Gettysburg.

I lived in Frederick for two years and enjoyed going to Cellar Door. I recently moved out of state, so stopped in with a friend for the last time to get my favorite dish. Unfortunately, they had changed the menu a couple of months prior so I was super disappointed and thought I was out to luck. Our waitress Tabby was amazing though! She asked the kitchen if they could make the dish for me since I was moving away and they came through in a big way. Even though they didn’t have all the ingredients, the sandwich was just as delicious as it always had been and I savored every bite. I want to thank Cellar Door and Tabby from the bottom of my heart on making my last time there memorable. I appreciate it!! ☺️

Drunken Mushroom Toast app, absolutely fantastic. Steak with caramelized onions and blue cheese wasn't bad, but the steak was oddly bland and packed any kind of sear. Service was very good the night went, but it never got too busy for dinner on a Friday night. I really liked the literal cellar walls that were very rustic

This is a cozy quiet place perfect for dinner and drinks, wonderful collection of signature cocktails and unique beers. The lady at the counter very friendly and informative about the drinks and how they should be enjoyed. The gentleman however was not friendly and seemed like his mind was elsewhere or simply didn’t like me and my friends. The food was well made but I don’t like raw carrots as a salad\vegetable so I requested for lettuce or celery, to my surprise the nonchalant barman told me that I would be charged on the already overpriced wings! My friend requested for flats only wings and was turned down! Hence the 3 stars. But all in all it’s a great restaurant!

Great selection of microbrews! I rather enjoyed the hazy IPA offering on the day we visited. Also, do not Miss out on the chance to get a burger from Fifty-fifty! The burger and beer combination experience was one of my best hamburger beer experiences. Very friendly staff and plenty of seating.

Old Mother Brewing Co is a must-visit in Frederick! We stopped in and tried the El Matador Mexican lager and the Florida Seltzer—both were super refreshing and full of flavor. El Matador had that smooth, crisp finish you'd want from a great lager, and the Florida Seltzer was light, fruity, and perfect for a sunny day. The ambiance is laid-back and welcoming with a cool, local vibe—exactly what you want in a craft brewery. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making great recommendations and making us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back—great drinks, great people, great atmosphere!

Great little downtown brewpub. No frills, order at the bar, a local restaurant out back handles the food, but I really appreciated the selection and the overall quality of the beers. The altbier was great, and the sour was very well balanced. Good old fashioned West coast IPA did the job too. Prices were good, Tuesday has 1$ off pints. Friendly staff and customers at the bar. Definitely the kind of place I would hang out in.

This was the perfect place for my friends bachelorette party to come to after our hike at Gambrill State Park. There were lots of great beer selections and they had cocktails, mocktails and wine for those who don’t drink beer. The burger place inside had the best chicken sandwich I think I’ve ever had. I love the logo art and they had a really cool open art market going on. This is definitely the place to hang. Can’t wait to come back!

I did not enjoy myself. My spouse was okay with it. Pros: The decor was fun. LGBTQ flags abound. There is a rack of games you can play during your stay. There are beavers of all kinds incorporated into the decor. You'll see a photo of my favorite with rainbow sunglasses. We found a table/chairs and checked the QR code for what to order. My spouse walked to the bar to order the drinks - no line, no wait. Cons: This is a cement box of an establishment. As soon as we arrived, the noise from the Loud Talkers at the bar boomed through the place. It did not get quieter. I got a tequila drink, my husband got a glass of Zinfandel. My beverage was UNDRINKABLE. It was as if someone poured a cup of lime juice into my glass and added triple sec & tequila. I drank a third of it and went to the bar to get some simple syrup added. The bartender explained that they make the mix for the cocktails daily and they didn't have anything behind the counter to change it's taste. No offer to make something different, even after I said that it was undrinkable. I ended up getting the "swamp" something-or--another with rum and drank half of it. My spouse said his Zinfandel was "meh." Between the LOUD conversationalists, the unsupportive bartender and the below par drinks I cannot recommend this establishment. On the other hand, the food we got from Fifty-Fifty located in the same building was *fantastic.* See my review of Fifty-Fifty for specifics.

Went in to get a few beers for myself and a colleague. It's always tough shopping for others, especially men with different tastes than I have. ERIK helped me tremendously by explaining the different options and giving me a few samples to help me decide. Best customer service one could ask for, one of the best two interactions I have had with a bartender. Erik loves his job and it shows through in his fantastic service to customers, including patience with someone who is taking quite a bit of time to decide. Kindness comes back around, thanks OMB Staff! This establishment is clearly well-managed. 5 stars!

Wide selection of beers. Place was very open and well designed. No music which I found odd. Beers tasted great however. Bartenders friendly

The staff and management at Cucina Massi are highly praised, with customers expressing their gratitude for the attentive and helpful service provided. The manager, Lianne, ensures that guests have everything they need throughout their visit, from booking to the end of their event. Irvin, the bartender, goes above and beyond by not only ensuring everyone has a drink but also taking care of their needs during their time there. The food is consistently delicious and even caters to vegan guests.
The white pizza is so insanely good! Sangria delicious, too. Those are the only things I have to base this review on, as we just popped in for a snack, but having discovered this pizza (that and the down-home friendly service), I would drive the 45 minutes just to have this pizza, and then turn around and drive 45 minutes home.

My husband and I have always loved the restaurant, so when we were planning our courthouse wedding + small celebration, we knew it had to be at Cucina Massi! Lianne was great to work with, Trish who worked upstairs during the party, was phenomenal. We had 50 guests for an open bar and dinner. The space was tight--it does sit 50 people although not super comfortably--but it was a perfect night. Everyone loved the food and the drinks were great! Our face hurt from smiling and laughing so much by the end of the night. Two constructive pieces of feedback: They offered to set up the place settings, which included place cards, before everyone got there. Unfortunately, the place cards were almost all incorrectly placed, which resulted in some family drama that I had tried hard to avoid with the seating chart I made, but it happens! We also had drink napkins made with our puppy's face on them, in hopes the bartenders would give them out with the drinks, as it's pretty usual to also give napkins. We have nearly all of them left because they weren't handed out. With those two things being the "critical" parts of the experience, I'd say we're very lucky! 10/10 would recommend for any rehearsal dinners, small wedding celebrations, birthdays, etc.!

Mix review. After our somewhat disappointing experience, I did speak to The leader on duty, and the MOD did apologize and invite us back. So I don’t want to give the restaurant a completely negative review. But I will say that the hostess and server were both lackluster. Neither of them seem to enjoy what they were doing, nor did they seem very efficient in their operation. Remember, courtesy is just as important as efficiency. The food has a lot of sauce. If you have bread to soak it up, great! The food was good. I had the veal; I’ve had it in other places that was more crispier, which I think I preferred. We also had the crab lasagna, which was very good. The drinks were not play while we were expecting. I again, we’ve been invited back; I’m hoping that the second round will be better.

Visited Cucina Massi in September with some friends. Interior was very neat and cozy. Service was on point. Food was incredible! Linguini with clams was full of flavors with fresh clams and a brothy, slightly salty white wine sauce that I could have eaten all day. Portion was filling which is good because that meant I wouldn't be entirely hungry during work that evening. Overall a great experience in a neat little Italian place nestled nicely on the busy streets of Frederick. Looking forward to returning to try a new pasta dish and some appetizers.

Cucina Massi definitely strives for a more authentic Italian experience as opposed to some of the more Italian American-skewed places in the area. I tried the lasagna and the pasta was overcooked. The antipasto board tasted a bit gamey. The beef carpaccio was excellent and my wife enjoyed her Brussels sprout salad. Good service and nice atmosphere. Not bad, but there are better options in Frederick County.

We decided to give Cucina Massi a try for our anniversary. We went last Thursday and opted for an early dinner. We were the first to arrive at 4:00 so we were able to get a pleasant table outside. Although we were the first it did not take long for other guests to arrive. All of the staff were very nice. We were not rushed to order and meal timing was perfect. We have never had grilled calamari so we decided to give that a try. It is a great alternative to fried and had good flavor from the grill and the texture was perfect. The mussels come in red or white sauce. We both enjoyed our main dish. They were well portioned. I tried my husbands shrimp and his dish definitely had some spice to it. We agreed we will go back to try more of the menu.

I can’t say enough positive things about the staff and management at Cucina Massi! I recently hosted my bridal shower there for about 30 guest. Lianne, the manager, was extremely attentive and helpful. Made sure we had everything we needed. Very responsive from the time we booked until the end of the shower! Irvin was bartending for us. He not only made sure everyone had a drink, but also made sure to walk around to make sure I always had what I needed and my family members did as well! I think he made about 30 espresso martinis in an hour! Oh, and the food is DELICIOUS as always! They even made sure my vegan guest was taken care of! Our out of town guest loved everything! We had such a positive experience that we decided to host our rehearsal dinner there in July! Huge THANK YOU to everyone at Cucina!!

Tenth Ward Distilling Company, a female-owned establishment situated in Downtown Frederick, offers a diverse array of alcoholic beverages, such as gin, whisky, rye whiskey, and absinthe. They provide the opportunity for visitors to take tours. It is an ideal place to unwind while enjoying a drink in the heart of downtown. Their selection includes exceptional distilled spirits like their smoky whisky and pre-mixed cocktails on tap.
We had our wedding at Tenth Ward Distillery in Frederick and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team was so accommodating and wonderful to work with from start to finish. The space was perfect for our vibe, and the drinks—especially our signature cocktails—were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend them for any event!

I had the hot cider and it was so damn good. It incorporated the house Autumn Liqueur and the house Orange Liqueur. It was a great winter treat. They are really great at what they do.
Karine W — Google review
This is my favorite place to get well crafted cocktails — whether it’s a twist on a classic or something inventive. All of their spirits are crafted in house, the menu is entirely vegan, and they have a rotating seasonal spirits release and cocktail menu that is always exciting to try out! All of their staff are helpful, and Onyx, Sarah, and Taylor are especially excellent bartenders! The vibes are always great and I always look forward to when I get a chance to come through for a treat. They partner with the restaurant next door so you can order food to be brought right over to your table or seat at the bar.
James P — Google review
We are incredibly grateful to Tenth Ward for their outstanding collaboration and generous support during our Raise a Glass for Superheroes event. From the very start, the team was welcoming, professional, and truly a joy to work with. Not only did they provide a fantastic venue that set the perfect tone for the evening, but they also went the extra mile by creating a signature cocktail just for our fundraiser—a unique and memorable touch that everyone loved! Thanks to Tenth Ward’s hospitality and generosity, we were able to raise vital funds in support of our mission. It was an honor to partner with such a community-minded business, and we truly felt like part of the Tenth Ward family. We look forward to many more events together. Thank you again for making it all so special!

My wife discovered Tenth Ward on a trip with her friends and raved about it. We dropped in for drinks on a Saturday, and it lived up to the hype! They have a fun, ecclectic setup. The staff was friendly. They handled the crowded bar area well and made some great drinks. We did a cocktail flight, which was great. I highly recommend the Corpse Reviver and the Bees Knees. Will definitely visit again!

If you're looking for a place to get an interesting drink or sample some amazing spirits, this is the place in Frederick to go. We travel down to Frederick, Maryland three to four times a year and every time we go we always stop. The one thing we can say is no matter when we go. The bartenders are always some of the nicest as well as most attentive bartenders. It's easy to go here to have a drink and end up sitting, talking and enjoying the atmosphere for 4 hours.
Nicholas F — Google review
I’m not sure how I haven’t gotten around to reviewing Tenth Ward yet, but here it is. This place has the best cocktails I’ve had in the Maryland, D.C. , Virginia area by far. I’m a regular there and enjoy my interactions with the employees all the time. The drinks they make are very delicious and the service is top notch. It’s someplace that will always feel like a memorable place to go to.

A great place to go for a relaxing drink in downtown Frederick! They have great distilled spirits (I especially enjoy the smoked whisky), and mixed drinks including cocktails on tap! You can buy cocktails in a can to take home with you, and also buy bottles of your favorite spirits. They don’t sell food, or have a food menu, but you can easily order food from the burger joint next door on your phone that they will happily deliver to your table. They have plenty of bar seating, tables and booths, as well as an event space in the back.

Frederick Social is a vibrant addition to the food and bar scene in Frederick. It has a social atmosphere, reminiscent of a college student union, where people often come to work or study. The beer wall offers an extensive selection that rotates frequently to keep things fresh. Customers can attach their credit card to a 'beer card' for easy access. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring everyone has a great experience.
I attended a wedding here. The staff are awesome. Drinks were good and the wall of drinks concept was very cool. Music was great. Food was great. Plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably. Climate was perfect inside. Just a really cool place to have a function.
Jave B — Google review
They have a lot of great drinks options, some priced great and some overpriced. However the food is what I'd skip here. The tacos tasted great, however the "smash" burger was another story. I'm not sure how to describe it other than frozen meatloaf patties. It was not a true smash burger, and I'm not even sure if it was pure hamburger. They loaded it up with toppings and seasoning to try to cover up the horrible patty. Definitely skip the burger and just get drinks.

We recently visited a fantastic restaurant that left a great first impression with its unique tap wall—a self-serve setup with an impressive variety of craft beers and ciders, perfect for trying new flavors at your own pace. It was our first time using a tap wall, and the novelty made the experience so fun and interactive! The outdoor seating was a major highlight, with a relaxed, pet-friendly vibe that welcomed furry friends. Situated right next to a scenic trail, it’s an ideal spot for a post-hike meal or a casual evening out. The food was solid, with fresh, flavorful options, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Highly recommend for a laid-back, dog-friendly outing with a modern twist!

Cool place to sit and chill or hang out with friends. Many beers, wines and cocktails on tap and at the full service bar. Nice limited menu including limited weekend brunch menu. They also have items for kids to eat on the main menu as well as the brunch menu. There is a kids play area as well as longer chairs and table and chairs. You can sit indoors or outdoors during the warmer months. Here is how it works: Upon entering you give your credit card and ID if you want to drink. They scan both. If you are 21 or older they give you a card that you insert into a slot by the tap/s. Glasses are self serve and under each tap. You can touch the screen above the tap for additional information about that tap. You then pour a small or large glass. The ounce and dollar amount will show on the screen above the tap. If you want something from the bar to be made by the bartender just give your card to the bartender. In-between the taps and the bar is the area where you can order food. Again, everything goes on your card. When you are ready to leave, go back to the entrance cashier and give them your card/s to settle everything on your credit card. It's really simple like 1,2,3. If you have any questions, everyone is super friendly and helpful. The place is clean and has signs telling you to clear your own table. Everything is well labeled where trash, trays and glasses go. The restroom is in the building hall outside of Frederick Social entrance. Restrooms are clean and fresh smelling. Inside and outside are also very clean. Parking is best at the Court Street deck. Cost for parking is $1.00/hour. The parking deck is located at the rear of the building that Frederick Social is in. Frederick Social faces Carroll Creek. Happy hour is Monday through Friday 4 PM to 6 PM:-)

Great place to hang out in downtown Frederick, MD on this beautiful August afternoon. Love the very cool self-service wine and beer taps! You will too. The owner (her name is Audi...) is very nice and extremely helpful. The music coming over their sound system is a mix of good songs from the 70's through current and is at a perfect volume where it can be enjoyed, but still easy to have a conversation. Location is fantastic, right next to the canal where people watching is oh so easy.
Greg C — Google review
This place is okay. The staff is friendly. They have a variety of drinks. However, you pay by the ounce which can get very pricy. I ended up paying about $13 for a less than half of a solo cup of rose. The advertised a kids play area but there wasn't much to it. Just a little fisher price kitchen with no toys. We went on a Sunday and while they had TVs with the games on the place was pretty dead. The menu seems unappealing so we didn't try it (can't rate the food). Overall I would skip this place especially with there being so many better options down the sidewalk.
Ashley G — Google review
Stopped by the Frederick Social tonight for a event. It was my first time visiting here. Large open space with tables and seating to enjoy your food and beverages. There is even a kids play area! The set up here is very cool. Sign in and get a card that you use to do all your purchasing. Use the card to get your beverages. All of the taps allow you to purchase in 1 ounce increments as much as you would like. The amount is added to your card. The screens identifying what the beverages can be touched to get a further description of the item. Same goes for food. Go to the counter and order your food, and it will be added to your card. At the end of the evening just bring your card to the front desk and return it and check out. Very simple. Nate did an outstanding job of walking me through all the areas of the restaurant and explaining to me how the card worked, and how to order food. Very professional and extremely helpful. Understood that this was my first time and made sure that I felt comfortable with everything. Great service! Our group of about 30 people had a great time. Some ordered food, like the pretzel bites and jalapeño fondue sliders shown below. They were excellent. A large parking deck is relatively close, so parking here is not an issue. The restaurant sits on the canal, and the lighted boats were still here. Very cool. Overall a great experience. A great atmosphere, and again great service by Nate. I will be back.

Brewery
Located two blocks east, Steinhardt Brewing is renowned for its high-quality ales in the vicinity. With advance planning, visitors can enjoy informative tours of these establishments to witness the brewing process firsthand. The establishment offers an exceptional ambiance with ample space, music, and a captivating atmosphere created by open doors and large windows. Not only do they boast an impressive selection of beers but also provide live entertainment via musicians and radio broadcasts. Additionally, food trucks are available on-site.
Spent this particular day strolling and trying new places to have a drink or a beer or a sampling of food. I really liked the staff and atmosphere at Steinhardt! Nice big bar in two locations within the place, staff friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly! Definitely great for large groups. They do have outside seating as well. A group did bring in food and they were okay with that. Very welcoming! Fun and chill with good beer on tap!

Local resident of Frederick here and we have many local breweries to choose from. Steinhardt’s is hands down the best of the lot with great Belgian brews and not just a bunch of IPAs with one stout and one weird flavored beer. Good atmosphere and staff—l love riding my bike down there for a beer on Carroll Creek on a sunny afternoon. If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and go today.
James K — Google review
We've visited all the breweries on Carroll Creek except for Steinhardt (the times before when we were nearby, they were jam packed with people). We finally got a chance to stop in today on this rainy and cold International Stout Day! We tried Hang Ten, Orange Haze, Dulcet Darling, and Orange Punch. I can't say I've ever been to a brewery where I enjoyed EVERY beer we ordered. Steinhardt nailed it. Couple that with the thoughtfully arranged furniture and historic accurate ambiance... Winning! The staff were super sweet to our fur monster as well and even posted him on their Instagram 🥰 We will absolutely return with friends.

Dropped in during a brief visit to Frederick. Ordered their Belgian Dubbel and knew a second one was going to happen. Really good - brought back memories of trips to Belgium. Friendly staff and nice place. Will certainly return during future visits to Frederick.
Paul F — Google review
The place is transformed from a historic factory building that occupied an entire block so it is long and spacious. There is no kitchen but a rotating local food truck just out side of the door. Dog friendly. We had three bears. Orange peach, a Belgium style golden ale, is pretty good. The three wise man is a Trappist style Triple, not as intense as a true Trappist bear, but decent. The Czech dark larger is a little bland. There are Jam session or open mike on one end of the building.

Recently found myself in Frederick MD for work. When I Googled "breweries", this small cluster of 4 breweries located in the Carroll Creek area popped up. My first stop was Steinhardt Brewing Company. Of the 4 I visited, this was by far the largest and best of the bunch. They specialize in German and Belgian style brews. I started with a Flight of 5 and ended up trying 9 thanks to the very friendly staff. 🙂 From L to R: Vienna Lager, Oktoberfest, Dubbel XX Belgian Dubbel, Three Wise Men Belgian Tripel, Bourbon Barrel Aged Tupelo Imperial Stout. I also tried the Orange Punch Belgian Stong Golden Ale, Hang 10 Coffee Stout, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Belgian Quad, and house blend of the Three Wise Men and Four Horsemen. This is one of the best breweries I've ever visited. Loved everything about it, especially the brews.
Brent N — Google review
Best beers I had while visiting Frederick breweries in July '25. Loved that there were so many less-common styles, as well. Friendly, knowledgeable staff too... and dog friendly inside the tap room. There are a lot of breweries in the immediate area, but DON'T skip this spot!

We have been going to Steinhardt Brewing to Thursday Night Pour House Trivia for several times now. Well attended and lots of fun! The location has two large areas, and outside seating when it is warmer. The one area has a bar and live music. The area we sit in is equally as large and hosts the trivia. Lots of various beers including Ales, Lagers, Belgian and Stouts. Our favorite is the Orange Haze. Comes in various sizes as well! There is also Seltzer which you can add various flavors. In regards to food,, you can either bring your own or visit the food trucks stationed outside. We have done both! They also have games like darts, which can be lots of fun. Service is excellent. The trivia host is fantastic and all the servers and bartenders are outstanding. Overall, a great experience! Enjoy!
