Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in a charming century-old house just south of downtown Rockland, Primo Restaurant is an upscale dining destination that captivates with its intimate ambiance and innovative Italian cuisine. Under the expert guidance of James Beard Award-winning chef Melissa Kelly, this eatery showcases a menu rich in Mediterranean influences and seasonal ingredients.
This place in Rockland Maine is truly beautiful and classy, and the staff is amazing, so friendly and attentive, always on top. The food was just okay. My pasta was a little too salty and didn’t have much meat. My wife’s dish was fine but also light on the meat. The onion bread was really good, and everything is super fresh, straight from the farm. I’d come back for the great atmosphere and service, but not really for the food.

Sarah was our waitress and she was phenomenal and knowledgeable. She joined in on our conversations and was extremely attentive. We came from Indiana to explore the best local restaurants and we are so pleased that we did! Thank you to the chefs, managers, coordinators, our waitress, and staff for an amazing experience.

I visited Primos for the first time last year (2024) and had a phenomenal experience. Unfortunately, I don't think the same can be said for this year (2025). First the food - the duck with the brussel sprouts and winter squash puree, and the fish soup with the rouille were amazing! The oysters with tomatoes were a lovely combination. The swordfish + gnocchi and the pasta dish were not per the description, and the taste was decent albeit not delectable given the price point. The most glaring difference was the service. I was treated quite differently from the other patrons, which was quite jarring. I've spent almost a week in Maine this time around, and it was nothing short of wonderful, barring my experience at Primos. There were two exceptions, the one person who helped me get some water, and the other who was kind enough to greet me and get me some bread when I sat at my table. I just spent $250 (+$50 tip) at Primos, and I don't think I'll ever return.

While I love farm to table places this one was very hit-or-miss, and had a problem with consistency and portion sizes. As a rule I would recommend sticking with dishes off the daily menu and not the specials list. Some of the dishes were hits - like the fish stew, the pork and figs pizza (though it was way too big to be considered an appetizer!) and the halibut, while others were misses like the pork chops (huge, extremely expensive and nothing to write home about) or the panzanela salad (bland and mediocre). Given the area and it's offering, this is a good restaurant, but overall I would say it's overrated.

Really cool experience in Rockland, ME- totally worth the road trip we made from Portland. We arrived early to check out their farm. They have a few acres right next to the restaurant, with farm animals and garden beds full of vegetables. They are a full circle kitchen and farm to table restaurant. The chef is a two-time James Beard award winner and we loved this meal! The pastas especially are so well done.
Karen Q — Google review
I really enjoyed my dinner. The other people in my party did not like their choices as much as I enjoyed mine, so my impression is that it could be hit or miss. I enjoyed fois gras with rhubarb, duck breast with cherries, and rhubarb crostata with gelato. My entries were flavorful and the servings were generous. The service was attentive. When making reservations be aware that the dining area has the first and second floor. The second floor has steep stairs with the railing on the left side, which could be a challenge for mobile limitations.
Julie's B — Google review
Wonderful dinner but make sure you have transportation. You may have difficulty after 10:30pm getting a ride from the one cabby running that late in Rockland. We did get a pickup after 20-25 minutes waiting outside for the 2 minute ride back to 250 Main. But it was seriously tense. There was a consensus about the 1/2 mile walk back to town not being advisable. We were very relieved in the end but the experience was nerve racking. Anniversary dinner, Bourdain travel experience, first real vacation since pre-Covid. Primo was the main goal when planning the trip. This final part of the night overshadowed the entire experience although everything was delicious and the service attentive and helpful. Just plan ahead, don’t lose track of time and don’t count on the only cab driver running after 10. Note, Lyft nor Uber do not seem to actually operate in the area. Sam and Rob at the bar were kind and helpful and thanks to Paul for his patience with us wine novices. We ate ourselves silly and tipped very well.
Mike D — Google review
Primo in Rockland is truly one of a kind. The atmosphere is unmatched—it’s in a beautiful old house, which makes the whole experience feel cozy and special. Everything we had was absolutely incredible. You can tell the rotating menu is carefully thought out and driven by fresh ingredients. We sat at the bar before dinner and got to watch a prep cook working for the next day, which was such a cool touch. The beet salad and bread were amazing starters. For my entrée, I had the salmon, and it was insanely fresh and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we went all out and tried the donuts, a strawberry shortcake special, and the chocolate pudding cake. Every bite was delicious. Primo is a must if you’re anywhere near Rockland.

Nestled in a charming historic bank, In Good Company is a delightful destination for those who appreciate fine wine and contemporary American cuisine. This inviting loft-like space strikes the perfect balance between chic sophistication and cozy comfort, making it an ideal spot for both wine lovers and tapas enthusiasts alike. The talented chef-owner, Melody Wolfertz, showcases her culinary skills in an open kitchen where she crafts a variety of small and large plates that encourage lively conversation well into the evening.
The farmer salad was truly delicious-- make sure to add the goat cheese. We got the sea bass and coho salmon which had entirely different flavors but were both delicious. The wines were also lovely. The staff seemed distracted and overwhelmed by the customer but were kind whenever they came to our table. I would have appreciated a bit more attentive service, however.
Alexa B — Google review
We had an 8pm reservation and when we arrived, the people were still eating at the table they planned on giving us. We walked around for 20 minutes and came back because they close the kitchen at 8:30pm. The staff made arrangements for a different table and apologized profusely doing everything possible to make amends. They could not have been more trained, pleasant, polite or attentive!! The food was amazing!! We were not rushed at all!!! I can’t give them any advice on how to improve because they are doing everything right! The crowd was noisy but they can’t help that. Other than that, and the delay (also not their fault) a PERFECT meal and experience. Well worth the money and wait.

Fabulous food and wine, spectacular service, comfortable seating and homey atmosphere with pretty flowers and plants. I had the radish appetizer which was so well done - various whole and cut radishes with super fresh greens attached to some. They could have just been picked. Salmon was perfectly cooked with crisp exterior on a summer squash puree. Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and whipped cream was divine. The next time I am visiting again I will be back here for sure.

Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's very obvious that the food is prepared with care and a lot of testing. Wine list was great and the service was top notch. I wish I lived closer... I'd be here once a month!

I’m so impressed with this place! The chef made magic happen for every dish she produced in that small kitchen. I absolutely loved the quality and composition of the recipes. All the protein was sourced locally and even the whipping cream was whipped by hand. Highly recommend 👏

Food was delicious. Service was great. Really enjoyed sitting in the back room.most vegetarian risotto is made with mushrooms so the green bean risotto was a nice change. Everyone loved their dish.
Jennifer L — Google review
I think the restaurant may want to rename itself “In Good Food.” I ordered the beef tenderloin with a butter blue cheese topping. The beef arrived with a temperature just as I had ordered. The butter blue cheese complemented the beef rather than overwhelming it. That alone made the meal. Good Company offers some decent wines and cocktails. I tried the maple “old fashion” and enjoyed the blending of flavors. Service was good and the restaurant has a cozy upscale atmosphere. In Rockland, this is one of the better dining experiences.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled right on the harbor, Archer’s on the Pier is a delightful seafood café that offers an unforgettable dining experience with stunning waterfront views. With its inviting decks and ample windows, you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the picturesque scenery of Rockland, regardless of the weather. The menu boasts a variety of traditional and contemporary seafood dishes, featuring local ingredients that highlight Maine's culinary treasures.
My wife & I had a wonderful dining experience, beginning with warm greeting from the hostess when entered Archer’s. Our waitress was very helpful with my questions about the various entries I was interested in. I settled for the Lightly Broil Italian Haddock. By far the best broiled fish recipe I eaten in along time. My wife ordered Flounder Florentine, which was absolutely amazing.
Robert S — Google review
I drove 5 hours from New York to drop off some horses and I just wanted to see the beach and eat fresh seafood. Archers was recommended by locals and it was great. Our waitress was very helpful with ordering and the service was fast and accurate. The food was excellent and the outdoor deck had fantastic views. I would absolutely eat there again and would not hesitate to recommend. Loved it.

I was staying in Portland and my son suggested we drive up to Rockland for the day. I found this restaurant on Google Maps. The description was very accurate. The restaurant is located on the water and has a great view of the bay. The food was excellent. Hands down this was the best lobster roll I had in Maine. The clam chowder was also very good. My son had the chicken Caesar wrap and he said was good. This restaurant was well worth the 1 hour and 45 minute drive. I plan on coming back in the future. I would highly recommend coming to this town and experiencing this restaurant.
Adam P — Google review
a busy place with a quality food. I enjoyed the haddock cream chowder and a teriyaki sword fish dish. The service what somewhat slow and I also had to wait for a table a few minutes. This can be understood, as the place is a popular one.
Gil S — Google review
Beautiful place, good food, relaxing. Had the sandwich that beat Bobby flay. It was very good. Also had the oysters and steamers, yum! Everyone seemed happy! Great place.

We had the crab cakes, oysters, seafood casserole, burger and dessert. Everything was over the top delicious! Our waitress was exceptional as well.

This place might be one of the best in Maine. Wonderful owner, passionate about her food, service and making sure people enjoy the visit. We ended up coming back to this restaurant more than once after trying others and realizing what a gem this is. Amazing, fresh, quality food and homemade desserts.

Loved it here! We made a reservation for a large party, waited about 5 minutes for our table. Our server was very nice and attentive, the food was fantastic and the view was phenomenal. I’m disappointed that I’m not a local because I’d love to come back!

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Rockland, Maine, Hill's Seafood Co. is a delightful family-owned restaurant that captures the essence of coastal dining. With stunning views over the water, this relaxed eatery offers an extensive menu brimming with seafood favorites that highlight locally sourced ingredients. From classic lobster rolls and clam chowder to creative dishes like lobster mac and cheese and pot pie, there's something for every seafood enthusiast to enjoy.
What a fabulous spot! A group of us went out for a casual, dinner and loved it. Most people ordered the lobster roll, priced at $31, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lots of fresh lobster, lightly dressed, in a toasted buttered hot dog roll. And the accompanying fries were great! Drink prices were quite reasonable too and the service was very friendly and accommodating. And the view down to the harbor is spectacular! You can eat indoors or outdoors on their covered patio. Don’t miss this great spot when you are in the area!👍❤️❤️❤️
Peg C — Google review
Calamari was fresh. Lobster pie was fine, but the crab, ritz cracker crust overpowered the taste of the lobster.
Captain S — Google review
Visiting for the annual Lobster Festival and stopped in for dinner. Seated right away, the interior of the restaurant is charming, homey and unpretentious. The hostess was super sweet, I didn't catch her name but she wears "444" and I totally get it 😉. The mussels appetizer were the star of the show, and we can't stop talking about them. Sizeable and in the most delicious white wine broth! Of course the buttered, grilled bread was used to dip into the sauce, but I used the shells to spoon it up like soup. Perfection! We also split the combo plate of haddock, shrimp, scallops & clams. The slaw was fresh, crisp, creamy with just a hint of sweet. The fries had just a little coating, super crisp with fluffy interior. The whole meal was fantastic. Our server, Kiara, was pleasant, efficient and gave us a great dining experience.
Debbi R — Google review
We visited Hill’s Seafood in Rockland on a Sunday afternoon after a local recommendation. The appeal was that it’s not on the waterfront and supposedly more affordable than some of the harbor-facing spots. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t reflect that. Parking wasn’t easy. There were only a few spaces on one side of the building, and street parking was essentially nonexistent. We arrived around 4:15 PM and were seated immediately, even as the late-day crowd began to build. The hostess was warm, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Service was not the issue—it was the food and pricing that left us disappointed. We ordered two lobster rolls and opted to swap the fries for garden salads. The lobster was sweeter than expected but lacked the depth of flavor we associate with fresh Maine lobster. The portion was small, served in a basic hot dog bun that was wet and underwhelming. The roll didn’t hold up well, and for the price, there simply wasn’t much lobster meat. The garden salads were the best part of the meal—fresh, crisp, and well-portioned. Pricing was a major disappointment. The lobster roll was $35 each, and swapping fries for salad added $4 each, yet the cost of the fries wasn’t deducted. We were also charged $2 each for a small container of what they called “Connecticut style” butter—not real butter, and not offered as an option. A single Coke was $3.75. Even the water had a bitter taste. The total for two people came to $85.75 before tip, and over $100 after tip. For a casual seafood spot with no waterfront view and a very basic setup, that felt excessive. The restaurant does offer indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area covered by an awning. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were kind. But for the amount we spent, the food didn’t deliver. We were hoping for a hidden gem off the beaten path, but instead found ourselves questioning the value. We wouldn’t return, and we’d advise others to review the menu carefully and ask about upcharges before ordering.
Thomas F — Google review
Hill's Seafood ended up being our favorite meal of the whole trip! The portions were generous, everything we tried was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The Cajun Parmesan Haddock was outstanding and my personal favorite, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Even dessert was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Eric S — Google review
Great place for local seafood! Lots of options. Small seating but space outside when it’s nice.
Emily K — Google review
With a few days in Rockland, we wanted good seafood. We asked around, tried a few restaurants, but one night Delton Hill’s Seafood Co for dinner. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but so worth the wait!! Clam chowder was one of the best we’ve had in Maine!! Wife had clams, I had broiled haddock!! TERRIFIC!! No room for dessert, but we returned two days later for lunch!! Kudos to Olivia and Rosie who served us so well!!!
Douglas R — Google review
I stopped in here after attending the Maine Boat and Home Show. The location is very convenient and close to the water. The atmosphere and service were ok, typical fish house feel. I had the clam chowder and a coffee! Both were steaming and delicious. The chowder was thick, chunky and tasty. Can't ask for more than that...and I didn't! Glad I stopped, but I don't think I would return.

Suzuki's Sushi Bar is not your average sushi spot. The skilled chefs, all women, serve up familiar Japanese dishes in a cozy atmosphere. Owner Keiko Suzuki Steinberger ensures that the fish, meat, and vegetables are locally sourced whenever possible. The menu goes beyond traditional offerings with local oysters on the half shell and pork dumplings. Suzuki eagerly awaits seasonal seafood like herring and mackerel runs to create unique sushi and sashimi creations.
Lovely experience, no complaints whatsoever. A thoughtful ambiance, calm and enjoyable even with a busy restaurant. The fish itself was of incredible quality, and every bite exceptional. Truly look forward to returning, a 10/10 evening. Thank you!

Suzuki is a quiet masterpiece of a sushi restaurant. Every ingredient is incredibly fresh and treated with such care that each dish feels both simple and deeply special. The flavors are clean, balanced, and respectful of the ingredients, nothing is overdone, everything is just right. The chef behind the counter is extraordinary. Her precision, calm presence, and intuitive touch elevate the entire experience. You can tell you’re in the hands of someone who truly honors the craft. This is sushi at its most honest and refined, an absolute gem.

Absolutely lovely and wonderful! The raw tuna ceviche appetizer with yuzu dressing was incredibly fresh and delightful. The nigiri with tekka roll special plate was perfect. The fish and seafood were absolutely fresh and tasty. I so much appreciated the nigiri with the lobster topping as I felt that this was a poetic addition to being on the coast of Maine (I’m from New York City, so this delighted me a lot). The atmosphere is well curated and feels very comfortable. The staff is super-friendly. Reservations are highly recommended. I had called ahead and left a voicemail and received a callback to confirm the time. Thank you so much for the delicious meal.

Really cozy and small place. We got Omakase for two and I think it could have been a bigger selection and portion for $112, we didn’t even get local crab or lobster which we were excited to try, next time if we go we definitely would select our own. The seafood was super fresh and yummy, our fav was the scallop nigiri. The roll was ok. ✅ we also got Gyoza and it was def hand made and delicious.
Roman S — Google review
Really nice place with excellent quality ingredients for the sushi. We went as a family and ordered some mixed sushi platters and a miso soup. Everything was delicious, the miso soup a bit bland, but that is how they are. I recommend getting the mixed plates when you like all kind of seafood, as they are put together based on the daily availability. It was highly recommended to us to get a reservation in advance and we tried getting one through the automated phone call service they have. We called from a Swiss phone number, as we are visiting from there. When we didn't receive a call back we went by (we stayed in the area) and they said they don't call back international numbers and there is no other way to reserve from far away. For us it worked out in the end and we enjoyed a very nice evening!
Sarah E — Google review
I went here years ago and loved it. So sad to say that after last night, I won’t be eager to return. I’m wondering if something happened to the owner…the ambience was a bit somber and she didn’t look up once. I sensed tension in the kitchen. It made us feel so bummed out. The rolls were good, but much of the omakase missed the mark, with the fish sliced strangely thick. I hope things pick back up soon! Wishing them the best.
Sarena S — Google review
The food was amazing, but The unfortunate reason I gave them 4 stars is "people ordering take out." The staff is very small and they had a huge amount t of take-out orders coming in. I had to wait a long time to have service. Once I made my drink order I had to wait 15 min in before it came to the table. My food came at a reasonable time once the orders slowed down. I recommend this place but I suggest having reservations. The second time when I took my wife . Our experience was 10 times better. The service was quick and friendly. We got to the restaurant when it just opened so we had first dibs on seating. The food does not disappoint. Absolutely amazing!. I wish that they had a bit more help when they do get busy. I know at the time of us coming here, the middle of winter...I quess it's hard to find help and customers are kind of unpredictable.
Real B — Google review
Just AMAZING. WE LOVE WOMEN! This woman-led restaurant offered so many great options. The Chef’s Pick (Omakase) was amazing. Very diverse pic of sushi with plenty of sweet to savory flavors. Now. The dessert. Arguably some of the best I have tasted in awhile. The chocolate Mousse cake was AMAZING. Quite literally to die for. What seemed like a strawberry pudding mixed with a milkshake flavor was a light and yogurt-y with wonderful garnishes on top. Overall amazing experience and a huge thumbs up to Keiko!!!

Absolutely delish! I had the Alfredo add shrimp and my husband had the chicken Parmesan. I would say the Alfredo was up there as one of my top favorite Alfredo’s I’ve ever had. The sauce was perfectly creamy and the garlic bread with it was so good. My husband also loved his dish as well. We sat at the bar and the service was great and super friendly.

Not a fan of the communal seating as you may get sat with other people (and we did), but amazing food and service! I had a special that was seared scallops over linguini in a bacon mushroom cream sauce and it was incredible. Clam chowder was great as well

I was needing “not seafood “. Shepherds pie was delish. Came with a salad so I was able to take half of the pie home. It was delish next day. Friendly staff. Casual.

We had a delicious dinner here on a Friday night. Lily was our server and she added to the enjoyment of our evening. She made us feel welcome and was fun and helpful. I had the chopped salad and added fried haddock. It was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. Very fresh salad greens! My husband had the sirloin steak which was perfectly cooked and so tender and flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli were great also. I highly recommend eating here!

My wife and I went in not knowing what we really wanted, and we were served exactly what we needed. Great food. The fried haddock has a really light breading -so good. Beef stew - amazing. Crab dip - to die for. It was National Lobster Day and they just added lobster to your meal however you wanted it. The service was timely and friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing dinner. I had the clam linguine a limon. It was probably the best pasta dish I've ever had. It always seems to be busy, which is a good indicator! Inside it's a hive of activity with very attentive and responsive servers. Glad we chose this for our last dinner in Rockland.

Spent $100 here on New Year’s Eve. Hostess was rude, acted like she hated her job. She didn’t even speak to my husband went he went inside to pick up our to-go order. Just shoved a bag in his hand and that was that. Paid $17 for the cheese snack plate appetizer and it looked like something you would get at a gas station. Not worth the money. Paid $5 for bread and dipping oil and only got a measly amount of bread wrapped in tin foil and no oil or dipping anything. Also not worth the money. Meatballs were dry and lasagna had so much cheese on top that it was nauseating. $100??? Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

I will begin with the punchline. The food here is fine, but nothing was particularly outstanding. Ada's Kitchen is on Main Street in downtown Rockland, and so is very convenient. The place was packed on a Wednesday, so make reservations. We started with cocktails. My Ada's negroni was fine, reasonably balanced. Their old-fashioned was also good. We ordered bread, and for $5, it was a rather small amount. We had to ask for the olive oil. The first things out were the salads. The chopped salad was delicious. Very nice picture of veggies. The peach and burrata salad was literally a mountain of arugula, dressed with balsamic syrup. The burrata and peach were a good foil for all that very bitter arugula. However, yikes! Too much bitter greens! The brought out the wrong pasta, but were happy to exchange it. I had the lobster linguine. It was a big portion, but oddly lacking in flavor. The lemon seafood linguine was also a big portion, but again oddly lacking in flavor. Cheese would have helped, and they did bring out a shaker of Parmesan and dried chili flakes. The ragu was good, and the pasta al dente. They accommodated a fussy child with a pizza with no sauce. She was quite happy, as was our other child, who had a nice bowl of buttered noodles. The service was fine, and the place has lively feel.

We absolutely loved it! We sat at the bar and were waited on my the two bartenders, I believe their names were Stacy and Tony - what a team! Excellent cocktails, great recommendations and lovely service, even while the rush was going on. I had the carbonara, just so delicious for a simple pasta, and my partner the pizza - nice thin crust and cooked to our specifications! What a gem!

By far my favorite restaurant in the area! The food is wonderfully balanced. The more indulgent dishes still feel fresh, and the drink selection has a lot of variety. I can not recommend the mushroom & garlic ravioli with sage and pink peppercorn sauce enough! The atmosphere is busy but rarely overwhelming - clean, good lighting, kind and knowledgeable staff, great vibes all around (especially when they have live music).

Nina June is a restaurant founded by Chef Sara Jenkins, who has a diverse culinary background due to being raised in Italy, Spain, and Lebanon. The name "Nina June" comes from her childhood nickname. After years of running successful restaurants in New York City, she has returned to her birthplace in Camden, Maine to infuse the local produce with Mediterranean flavors.
I'm still thinking -- and drooling -- about our recent dinner at Nina June in Rockport, Maine. What a lovely restaurant. One of the best views in all of Maine for dinner? Quite possibly. Incredible food, amazing service... Nina June gave us a night to remember. Our friend made a reservation for our party of three, and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. There's a parking lot right below the restaurant, which they seem to share with other businesses, and we were able to snag a spot easily. The moment I walked into the beautiful building where the restaurant is housed, I gasped -- it was just so stunning. Maybe it was the pink hue of the sky, or the smell from the kitchen, or the ambiance? Either way, all of my senses were lit up before we even sat down. We started with cocktails on the balcony to soak up the sunset (highly recommend -- shoutout to the sommelier for the idea, and for offering to take our group photo!). The Sidecar Veneziana (cognac, pear grappa, lemon, dry curaçao) was to die for, and my friends loved their drinks too. After admiring the view (seriously... WHAT a view), we ordered pretty much everything on the menu... it all looked that good. Every dish delivered. We left dinner totally full; honestly, we struggled to finish some plates, and I went in expecting smaller portions. Not complaining! The mussels were some of the best I've ever had, soaked in a dark beer and fennel sauce and they tasted like butter. The little gem lettuce salad was a hit; even my blue cheese-hating husband loved it... and don't get me started on those chunks of bacon it came with. And the pastas... I could write a whole separate review on the pastas alone. We all ordered different ones, and I'm still debating which was my favorite, but I think it was my friend's: the pasta al limone with Maine crab. Absolute perfection. We finished things off with gelato and pavlova ( we somehow made room???). Special shoutout to the staff -- they were incredible. I asked what time the kitchen closed (we were the last ones there), and they told us not to worry or rush. The restaurant closed at 9 PM and we didn't leave until 10:20, but we never felt pushed out. They were incredibly thoughtful and gracious from start to finish. We can't wait to go back, and next time, I'm definitely snagging one of those patio tables!

What a FANTASTIC meal and dining experience. Loved it so so much and can’t wait to go back. First of all, I was super grateful for the NA mocktail options. Being pregnant, it’s just so nice to have options that aren’t ginger ale or lemonade; options that feel more sophisticated and not like I’m a child or being punished for being pregnant! Thoroughly enjoyed the ginger mocktail (Sara’s Mix #3) and thought it had a nice brightness and bite. The Rome with a View was also nice. Shining star of the night was the pole bean app. Hands down. Just unbelievably flavorful, had great texture, and was unique. The romaine salad was also standout. Second shining star was the fennel pasta. I’m not huge on fennel due to the licorice taste but I do enjoy cooked fennel. In this case, the pasta noodles had fresh fennel rolled into them to give them a subtle flavor and beautiful color. The fresh tomato sauce tasted like summer itself. So so delicious. The shrimp risotto had some unique flavors going on with it that I enjoyed (was that Jasmine I tasted in there??) But ultimately, compared to the other dishes, it fell flat. The skate really surprised me though!! Best piece of skate I’ve ever tried. Loved this meal and loved sitting on the back balcony overlooking the bay. How picturesque and a gorgeous way to spend the evening with family. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back. PS I could’ve eaten 3 orders of the bread and spread. Unreal.

Selected Nina June for our 25th Wedding Anniversary dinner, and it could not have been more special. They reserved a sweet little table for us overlooking the harbor and started off the night with two complimentary flutes of champagne. All the food was outstanding. The wait staff was fun and fabulous. Gaia, the hostess, was charming and attentive. Spectacular experience.

How cool is it to see Chef Sara Jenkins expediting as you approach the host stand? I love the open kitchen and being able to see all the hard work and effort it takes to execute the menu. Speaking of, I particularly enjoy all the seafood on there right now but also loved seeing duck. We started with a lovely bottle of a French white wine and Chip, their sommelier, told us it would go great with oysters so we got those too. He was absolutely right. Really enjoyed the lime and fresh herbs on those oysters. Incredible flavor. Entrees were the risotto which was expertly made and the halibut which was moist and flaky. Perfect. Dessert was a lemon tart that was a refreshing end to quite a lovely meal. It was a busy Saturday with a packed restaurant so the ticket time on our table was a little long but the service was still excellent and attentive. I made it a point to make reservations here on my trip to Maine and I was so glad I did!

I was so in awe as the food was presented i forgot to take all the pics i normally do. Exquisite best describes what i had the pleasure to eat. This was a New Year’s Eve price fix meal. I started with a handcrafted cocktail, a Black Manhattan. Wow! Meal included: raw oysters, tare tare, bay scallops, risotto, goose breast medallions, and dessert.

Dinner at Nina June was exceptional and unique, with an open kitchen concept so you can watch the chefs prepare all the beautiful dishes while you wait. They have a rotating menu based on seasonal ingredients. Chef Sara was there, and my wife loved speaking with her in Italian briefly. Her creativity and Mediterranean influence really shines in all of these dishes. The staff was attentive and the wine sommelier Chip helped us choose a rare Sicilian white to pair with our meals. Bonus - we discovered Chip makes a local hot sauce that’s great! The grilled calamari was super soft, which is tricky to nail down. The asparagus, onions, and cheese paired great together and were drizzled with balsamic. The halibut was also very tender, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two pasta dishes, short rib filled agnolotti and tagliatelle in a chicken ragù. We finished our meal off with a couple of espressos. Don’t hesitate to book a reservation here!

This place is SO cool and the food is awesome! Located in an old train station, Trackside is a great place to get lunch or dinner. Excellent appetizers and delicious entrees. New to the area, and my husband wanted us to try Trackside. First impressions were clean, bright, lively, and family-friendly. There are a lot of choices on the menu and they have good specials. It took us a minute to choose because of all the options. To start, we had their cheese curds and pretzel bites. The cheese dip and pretzels were amazing. The cheese curds were really good but not the best we've had. My husband ordered blackened fish tacos. I ordered their nachos, which were absolutely amazing, and our kids ordered a pizza and one of the specials. All of our food was delicious. Very affordable prices and very friendly staff. A new favorite place.

North Beacon Oyster is a laid-back restaurant that serves up a delectable selection of oysters, seafood dishes, and shareable plates alongside an array of cocktails, wine, and beer. The Maine Revolvah cocktail comes highly recommended by chef/owner Mike Mastronardi for its simplicity and potency. The restaurant offers both dine-in and take-out options but dining in is suggested to fully enjoy the bright and airy space that complements the fresh and straightforward menu.
Gem in Rockland downtown. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, server awesome, met owner and the chef! Small dining room with excellent atmo, music well suited. A lot of seafood choices and a few land fare. Recent New menu offerings, lunch is also new. Haddock sandwich with pickled onion, slaw and parmesan garlic fries very good!

We’ve never had such an awful dining experience and it was terribly upsetting. The owner is RUDE and ARROGANT. We were both looking forward to eating here and would’ve never expected such a horrid experience. We got there early but owner said he’s running on schedule so come back. So we left and walked around the area. When he said this we felt he was a bit curt. Okay, we figured he’s busy so he flustered. We returned exactly 2 minutes before our reserved time & he seated us. Our waitress took our order promptly. She was a sweetheart but very flustered from a large table she had. My husband ordered a cup of soup and I ordered 1/2 dozen oysters. My oysters came fast, but no soup. We waited a total of 20 minutes for a basic cup of soup. My oysters were okay but the chowder tasted like dishwater. Our main course Cioppino and Fish and Chips was taking forever so we said something the our server who went to check. It was now almost a full hour and we told our waitress again….. That’s when she said that the owner was coming over. When he came over we said to him it’s an hour we’ve been here and no food. He was curt and said the food will be coming. Finally our food came and it was absolutely horrible. The fish and chips tasted like iodine and sour. The breading was flavorless and fries cold and soggy. I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s Cioppino tasted like someone poured bad tomato juice and threw pepper in it. It was awful. We informed our waitress about this and she said the owner will come and talk to you..again! He asked what was wrong with our food and we told him in detail. I also said we waited and hour…. He said “but you got your food”. That was wrong to say. I said to him bring us our check so we can leave. I said this several times to the waitress as well. He finally said dinners on him. I said I’ll pay for what we ate and he said no he’s covering the dinner and we could leave. But he was curt and horribly rude to us. We’ve never been spoken to like this before with such attitude from an owner. We were starving by now at 8:45pm. That’s 2 hours we dealt with this. Horrible place and not worth the hype. We did tip the waitress since it was not her fault. The restaurant is extremely small and is very loud.

We loved our meal at North Beacon Oyster this weekend. We sat outside, which was perfect on a nice day, but the inside looked warm and inviting with a great atmosphere. The fish tacos were next-level good and beautifully plated. The Brussels sprouts and the “Smoke & Honey” cocktail were also delicious. We had the chance to meet the owner, and it was so nice to feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell there's real care behind everything here. If you're in the area, this place is absolutely worth a stop. Great food, great drinks, and lovely all around. We will definitely be going back soon!

I got great service from the moment I walked through the door. I could eat the crab cakes all day for a few weeks. Fried calamari salad was wonderful. The batter they use is delicious. Fries and the Cajun dipping sauce is so damn good. Drinks were quite good and I made sure to go for a long walk after 2. Don't forget desert!

We had a great dining experience and although the restaurant is known for its oysters, as a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to find a solid selection of dishes. I had the chopped salad (without bacon) and the brussel sprouts - which were crisped perfectly. The rest of my party loved the fish tacos. The service was exceptional. Kim, our waitress, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The owners also made the rounds, checking in to ensure guests were enjoying their meals—a nice personal touch that made the experience feel even more welcoming.
Doreen — Google review
We were looking forward to dining here. The good were my cocktail and the chowder. The bad, well everything else. The service was as close to non-existent as possible, which was surprising as there were two servers and just about the same number of occupied tables. Beer was flat and had an off taste. Fried clams were inedible cardboard-- every road side stand in Maine does them better. Fries were soggy, and the "Parmesan" fries were soggy fries covered in what seemed like ranch dressing. Yuck. Coleslaw was bland and unappealing. When we said we were finished to the server she didn't even ask why we didn't even eat a 1/3 of our food. $100 wasted for lunch for two.
Andrea A — Google review
We didn't have a reservation but they squeeze us in. We were blown away by the amazing food and phenomenal service! Whether you're just visiting the area or if you're a local I highly recommend North Beacon Oyster.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel manager and thought it would be great from the vibe that was happening the night we went in to book. We were placed near the toilets despite being a handful of bookings that night. Our waitress , v keen to get our order seemed to be completely flummoxed by what she had written down and what came out from the kitchen . Numerous times our order went to the table next door to us , crude salmon was bought out instead of scallops for our starter--- no-one seemed to know what was happening. The food seemed overpriced compared to what we had experienced the previous night.

The perfect dinner date spot by the harbor! My partner and I came here for his birthday dinner and it exceeded our expectations. We sat outside where we could look down to the water. Service was great (we were the last ones there and they never made us feel rushed). But the real highlight was the food and drinks! Steak and pasta cooked to perfection. Mouthwatering combos so delicious we made sure not to forget the leftovers in our hotel fridge!

The restaurant’s location is great and our server was nice. However, the restaurant was quite empty, and it took us a long time to get her attention between interactions. We ordered the mussels, farro beet salad, and truffle fries. The mussels smelled terrible and tasted off; we couldn’t eat them. The farro beet salad had no flavor; it was just super bland. The fries were okay. We probably won’t come back, but maybe it was just a unlucky situation.

I loved this restaurant so much that I ate here 2 of my 4 nights in Camden. They have such a wonderful menu that changes often. I ate outside each of my 2 times. They have a global menu that was very appealing including dishes from Brazil and Africa. The Spitzers were very refreshing. On my first visit I had the Marcequa (spelling) which was basically a stew with Haddock, shrimp and mussels in a coconut lime broth with jasmine rice and tomatoes. I loved it so much I went back another night. The whole menu looks great. The service was excellent. The only issue that I had was that my dish was priced on the menu as $35 but rang up as $38. When I pointed it out, they said that the menu changes (but the price??) and he didn’t offer to get the manager or anything. It still was great and if ever in the area, I’d go back!! Things to note- Prices vary between menu and receipt. Bread and butter costs $4. The spritzers and the food are excellent!! Service very attentive!

Situated directly on the Camden Harbor, it provides stunning panoramic views. The owner and chef, Peter Masin-Peters, who is often present at the restaurant, aims to blend local flavors with international influences.
There was a wait when we arrived but we were lucky enough to find seats at the bar. We were waited on my Casey, who was very knowledgeable about the menu & cocktails. The restaurant was busy with a lot of families & large groups but the food was flying out of the kitchen & looked amazing. We ordered a scallop special & goat cheese & beet salad with salmon. My husband and I had a delicious and delightful lunch here today. We sat inside. The restaurant is very clean and obviously has a fantastic view. I ordered the sirloin and it was prepared as ordered and excellent. I got it without the sauce because I'm gluten-free. (Side note is that they don't offer gluten-free bread.) My husband got the lobster roll and said it was also really good. I deducted a star because first we were overcharged and after I pointed it out it took ten minutes for our server to have it fixed. Also, I didn't notice until we got home that we never received the 10% locals discount even though I mentioned we live in Maine (but I live two hours away so too late for them to adjust). I do think it's awesome that they offer that, though, so be sure to mention it if you live in Maine (and check your bill!)

This review is a ‘tale of two cities’ type of a situation, a great experience with the server, but a most unusual and negative occurrence at the very end. This restaurant is conveniently located on the Camden waterfront where most harbor/bay tours depart. It offers indoor/outdoor seating by the water. This past weekend with the windjammer festival, the town had a very healthy number of tourists, I being one of them. I gave this place a try, and given the late evening hour, I was able to secure a table outside with a great view. The experience was pleasant from the start; the server (Sarah M) had a very gregarious and friendly attitude; not to mention how attentive she was. The menu is full of seafood delights, and the daily specials looked equally tantalizing. After an engaging discourse with Sarah about the options I was contemplating, I settled on the Lobster corn chowder. Alas, they mixed up the order and I got the Clam chowder instead. I didn’t mind, and didn’t fuss about it. The clams were luscious and the soup was just the right texture. I then had the Maple pan seared Scallops, which were a delight. Definitely recommend this dish, especially since it is served with two sides. Normally, the sides are small accompaniments; but these were hearty portions. I had the house salad, which was very fresh, and sweet potato fries which were crisp and appetizing. Combining a very amiable server, with a hearty quintessential Maine seafood meal, I could not have been more satisfied. Then the experience changed completely. It was just about closing time. I settled the bill, and happened to be the last patron remaining on the outdoor patio. I needed to use the restroom, but found the main door leading inside to be locked. I got the attention of the staff inside, and my server immediately came out and asked her supervisor (or whatever her role was) to open the main door, which she did. They both pointed the way to the restroom. But then for some reason the supervisor very quickly and emphatically said ‘but there is a public restroom close by.’ I processed that as an informational statement, but then the following sentence ‘just because we are now closed,’ came as an overt ask which to me meant – ‘you can’t come in here, use the public bathroom on the pier.’ In the presence of the moment, I complied and while finding it strange, left the restaurant and went to the dark (no outdoor lights) public restroom in a nook on the pier. It then started to sink in that I was just nudged away from using the restaurant’s restroom, about five minutes after it had closed, and where I had just plunked a 35% tip for the great service I had received. My mind raced at trying to find an explanation or meaning to what had just happened. I have travelled to many parts of the World, including within the U.S., but this was a first of being denied the use of a restroom, a handful of minutes after the restaurant’s closing time and being a paying customer. I recalled the perplexed look on my server’s face also as all this was transpiring, and then I wondered if the same treatment would have been meted out, had I been sitting inside the restaurant, or if the two or three patrons remaining at the bar had wanted to use the restroom – would they have been ushered to the public facility? I cannot ascribe a motive or reason for this animus towards me; it had been just a few minutes past the closing time, and the staff were still picking up the tables, etc. There were no signs of the restroom being closed for cleaning or any other posted policy or notice that the bathroom could not be used by patrons after closing time. I think I have an idea as to why this happened, but I will leave it for the reader to assess and decide. Many people might have used a restaurant’s restroom after closing time, at one point or another, and they can judge this incident as they deem fit. One thing is certain; I will not be a repeat customer here.

After a harbour cruise we waited a short while for an outside table. Our foursome ordered a variety of courses and were each very pleased. Most popular was the surf and turf. We were able to take our time enjoying each course and a variety of wines. Our server Ryan made the experience particularly pleasant and did a great job catering to our individual tastes.

This is a touristy spot with a gorgeous view of the boats and yachts. Honestly, that’s the best thing about it. I had oysters, prosecco, and the “lazy lobster.” My husband went with the fried calamari and a dessert. The oysters and prosecco were great, but everything else was pretty underwhelming. The $50 lobster came in a tiny portion and was rubbery, served with uncut potatoes and butter packets on the side (seriously?). The dessert pie was clearly microwaved and overheated. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re coming for the food. But if you’re after a nice view, a few drinks, and some light snacks, it’ll do.

We took a sunset sailboat cruise and realized that most restaurants in Camden either required a reservation or were closing after the boat ride, so we ended up at Peter Ott’s. The line looked long but they were able to get my party of 2 in within 10 mins. As a vegetarian, there weren’t a ton of options, but the veggie burger was fine (pretty sure it was just a well executed frozen veggie patty) and the fries were good. My companion really enjoyed the lobster corn chowder and Caesar salad. Overall I don’t know as it’s a must-visit, but we had a nice time!

This place was a recommendation from the owners of the place we were staying. They raved about this place and they weren't wrong. I'm sad to have to leave a less than 5 star this visit from yesterday, but it's in all honesty. Anyone and everyone who knows me has to listen to me rave about every visit I make to the Cafe... Rockland Cafe is my favorite go-to every time I get to the area, and I've been going for over 15 years now, multiple times a year, and I often do day trips from north of Syracuse NY just because coastal Maine is my happy place and my source of regaining my sanity when my soul is tired. Rockland Cafe is an essential part of those trips and I'm NEVER disappointed. However, I brought my 11 year old autistic grandson who has very limited food tolerance, as well as my 39 year old son, and chicken tenders is something my grandson will eat. I always get the scallops because they are OUTSTANDING! I an NEVER disappointed! My grandson was so excited when he saw Buffalo chicken tenders on the menu and he only wanted those with fries (btw, their fries are amazing, as well as their onion rings!) My son and I ordered our scallops because, well, what scallops lover can even think of going to Rockland Cafe and not get them?! They just make my New England heart so happy (yes, I'm born and raised in New England, an unwilling and temporary transplant to central NY). We took our order to go so we could sit by the beautiful harbor. While my son and I relished our amazing scallops, my grandson picked up his first chicken tender with a huge wrinkle on his face and said it was really soggy. He took a small bite and gagged because of the texture. My son went to try it because he wanted to see if it was really that bad (and he eats everything not nailed down) , said its gross, just way too soggy and just mush. So that was a total bust. But seriously, stick to their seafood and you'll never be disappointed! I'll still be back every time, because they never disappoint in the seafood department. They're chowder are to die for as well. I absolutely pains me to take off points from this review, but just don't order those tenders.

Very busy and quaint Maine restaurant. Tight fitting with tables on top of each other. Clam chowder was sub par with very few clams, too many potatoes and no flavor. However, the lobster stew was amazing but expensive at $31 Per cup. Server was attentive and nice. Short wait for food but overall a solid 4.

We ended up in Rockland for a night and lucked up and found this food gold mine! It's the perfect laid-back place. FYI: There are 2 entrances, one on the main street and a lower level entrance behind the building with a staircase to take you up. There's also parking back there. Take the alleyway right past the front. It will take you to parking behind it. The food was beyond great 6 stars in my book. I had the special beef stroganoff with noodles. My fiancee had the lobster roll. Service was top-notch. On a funny side note, my fiance and i are from Georgia, so it was great hearing the thick Maine/New England accents from the staff. It was like having the Kennedy family serve us dinner. Lol. Don't waste your money on a chain restaurant if you come through Rockland, spend it here on some great local food and people.

Stopped by for a lobster roll on the way back from Bar Harbor. Very few chunks of lobster. Instead, almost shredded and swimming in mayo. Also, the bun is not your typical lobster roll bun. Cash only.

You go here for seafood - and a lot of it. My wife had the double lobster and I had a fish basket. She really enjoyed the lobster. I felt the fish basket was just “ok”. I would not get it again. I expected small pieces of fried fish like in the photo but it was just a slab of fish with very little batter. The French fries were good as was the coleslaw.

Dropped by for lunch. Service here is basic. Don’t expect bells and whistles. But the food is phenomenal. I’ve never had a lobster roll in anything other than the usual toasted hot dog shaped bun. This one came in a roll! It felt more meaty than the usual and I enjoyed the lobster meat to bun ratio. The seafood stew was also amazing. It’s all seafood. Clams, lobster, shrimp, scallop, etc. no potatoes....wow. I want some more of this!! Best I’ve ever had!

Wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars! We were out for a drive and found ourselves hungry in Rockland, ME. We saw this little cafe and thought “why not?” I’m SO glad we stopped here. The food is homemade end the portions are huge. The staff is friendly and on the ball. I got the Prime Rib Beef Stroganoff and Oleg got the smelt platter. Even the lady’s restroom was adorable with hand-painted accents! We’ll ABSOLUTELY be back!!

Italian restaurant
40 Paper is a cozy Italian eatery located in a civil war era mill, offering traditional Italian dishes with influences from French, Spanish, and Mediterranean cuisines. The restaurant takes pride in accommodating dietary restrictions and offers gluten-free options for their freshly made pasta. They work closely with local farmers, foragers, and fishermen to source the best ingredients for their ever-changing menu. The restaurant features an intimate dining room, a lively bar scene, and indoor/outdoor seating during the season.
We had a really nice dinner at 40 Paper while visiting Camden. It’s a great option if you’re looking to avoid the heavier, fried fare you’ll find at some of the more tourist-focused spots. The House 40 Salad was fresh and crisp with a good balance of toppings, and the Puttanesca was hearty and full of flavor, with a nice pop from the pistachios (see photos). Drinks were solid too - good wine and beer selection. Our server, Marina, was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt relaxed but thoughtful. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in town and want a quality meal in a comfortable setting.

Good wine menu. Skip the lobster fixed menu. The lobster cakes were the best part of the menu. The Lobster Fra Diavolo spicy tomato sauce completely obliterated ANY lobster flavor. Sad to say I missed the subtle lobster flavor with the over powering spicy tomato sauce. The desert was okay but too acidic. Service was poor. The lobster menu was a very poor value for the price. Had to ask for items twice - bread and latte. The decaf latte was delicious and very well made. The noise level was good. We could talk through our meal. Not sure we will return.

Had Linguine and it was amazing. They run a happy hour from 4pm to 6pm in bar area only. Great place to come with a family or on a date. Plenty of dishes can be made gluten free or vegetarian, and they make their own gluten free and vegan pasta. Service was great too, Alicia was friendly and knowledgeable. We also got to meet few other servers and bartenders, and they all seemed to know their stuff. Definitely will be back!

Food was well designed but poorly executed. Drinks were great, but didn’t make up for the mediocre cooking. I doubt I would ever go back.

Just went there tonight 9/27/25 and had no reservation. Got in quickly which was great, but the food was extremely disappointing. I had the ragu and we also ordered the chicken piccata and baked feta. The baked feta was completely cold, the ragu was short of being good and the piccata was average. The service was horrible, considering I’ve worked in the service industry as a server. Would NOT recommend at all and will definitely not be back.

Brewpub
American restaurant
Bar
Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery is a popular spot in Rockland, known for its housemade ales and stouts paired with American comfort food. The original pub on Main Street offers a warm, old-world ambiance where visitors can savor fresh local brews such as pale ales and IPAs alongside classic bar food like juicy burgers, sandwiches, wings, fried pickles, and cheese fries. The casual sports bar atmosphere and friendly staff make both locals and tourists feel at home.
Good Experience at Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery Finding parking in Rockland is tough, especially with an RV! Luckily, after checking in at the campground, they suggested I park at Pier 2 near the Light House Museum and Police Station. I was looking for a simple bite to eat and some time to walk around, so I stopped into Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery on Main Street. The atmosphere was great, though the service was a bit slow and disorganized. It wasn’t clear who was handling customers, but no big deal—just added a bit more time to the visit. I started with the Rock Harbor French Fries and was curious to try their Rock Harbor Beer Cheese. The fries were basic, and the beer cheese wasn't what I expected—it was more of a paste than melted cheese. For my beer, I went with the Spruce Head Stout. It had strong chocolate and coffee undertones, but the balance was a bit off—the chocolate overpowered the beer a bit. It reminded me of Young’s Double Chocolate Stout from Eagle Brewery. For my main dish, I asked the bartender for a recommendation between the tacos or another item. She suggested the Chicken Tacos, one of the most basic items on the menu. I think there was a missed opportunity to upsell, but I understand how it is being in the industry myself. The food overall was decent, and I left a good tip for the bartender on both card and cash. All in all, it was a good experience. I’ll definitely be back! #RocklandME #RockHarborPub #MaineBrews #SpruceHeadStout #PubEats #MaineBeer #RocklandEats #RVParkingAdventures #LocalBrews #GoodVibes

Good selection of dressed up pub fare. The food was great and fresh. Nice beers but out of few items. The service was friendly but they didn’t really check on us until it was time for the check.

Mediocre beer, sad excuse for a lobster roll, fries are too salty. Great location. Good service.

The Rock House burger was great, the beef stew was very tasty and the cheesecake for dessert was one of the best cheesecakes we have ever had! Their beer selection did not disappoint either! Worth the visit, for sure!

My wife and I had lunch on a Sunday after visiting the Farnsworth Museum. We chose this because it was open and within eyesight of when we decided to grab lunch. Dumpy brewpub atmosphere. Good service. The red ale was good. My wife and I shared onion rings that were perfectly cooked and in the same light breading as the fried fish. I had the fried haddock sandwich which tasted right off the boat fresh. Perfect and matches any fired haddock I have had in New Bedford.

Came in for drinks one evening and food another. Beer was decent (tried a few) and food was fine but nothing to rave about (fish tacos/shrimp tacos). Staff closing up around us when still open was a little annoying. Probably wouldn’t eat here again (better options within walking distance) but a good stop for a beer.
Jer D — Google review
Visited this establishment for the first time today with three other people just to enjoy a cocktail. The waitress (dark long hair) clearly had an attitude. It was obvious that she didn't want to be at work. I asked her if their Old Fashion cocktail included Luxardo cherries and she said in a curt manner...yes. The old fashion came with a Marachino cherry, so besides the attitude, it's clear that she is a waitress who happens to work behind a bar with no knowledge of standard behind the bar ingredients. Management obviously doesn't care about customer service or an employee's cocktail making experience. Most of my posts are positive, but I couldn't let this slip without holding this establishment accountable. Previous to my review this establishment had a 3.9 rating which adds credibility to my experience. Next time I will stick to my guns and avoid any establishment with a rating of less than low 4's. Do yourself a favor and don't roll the dice with this place like we did.

Oyster bar restaurant
Located in the charming seaport of Rockport, 18 Central Oyster Bar & Grill is a must-visit dining spot. Known for its excellent oysters, mussels, and signature house cocktails like the refreshing Kilnwooder, this restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience. The menu changes frequently to showcase seasonal offerings but always features delectable options like the Grilled Hanger Steak served with herbed frites and pickled Shimeji mushrooms.
Wonderful restaurant. We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . Food, Service and Atmosphere was excellent.

My family & I had a great time at 18 central! The service was amazing as was the atmosphere was cozy. For food two of us ordered the hanger steak & when it’s cooked properly it’s a great choice. However both of us had issues with temperature. For seafood options my table loved the Sweet Lucy Oysters & enjoyed the scallops as well. The best dish however was the Duck which was cooked & flavored perfectly. Other things to note include reasonable wine prices, seasonal cocktails, and beautiful views of Rockport Harbor.

We were there on a night they were short staffed so service was tough but the food and drinks were spectacular. Incredible oysters (though sold out of a few by 6pm on a Saturday night) and apps. The star of the night though was the mussels! Huge and plump and incredible flavor. Will be dreaming of them for a while…
Effie M — Google review
Sometimes it IS better to just FADE AWAY, once BURNED OUT We visited 18 Central for the first time in June 2021 when staying in Camden, ME. Please be advised that the following comments are our opinion based on our visit to 18 Central. We HOPE your experience will be stellar...you might choose to read the LOW ratings and see if there is a trend over time; perhaps there has been a change in owner, management and/or staff..or all of these?? When we planned a return trip to MDI, we wanted to revisit 18 Central for another dose of harbor front beauty, small, sweet mussels prepared in cast iron and attentive service. Even to the point of driving 1.75 hrs EACH WAY to and from Mt Desert Island solely for the meal with a view. When I called a hour before opening, 30 days in advance, to make a reservation and going STRAIGHT TO VMAIL, I should have stopped there and then. Instead, I left a vmail and after 3 more attempts to reach a live person, I finally did secure a reservation at 5:15 p on a SAT nite in mid-September with Ruby. I thought, well... the hard part is over. HUGH MISTAKE on my part. The next signs to just accept that 18 Central was not the same and just go to one of several other stellar spots on the water in the Camden, Rockland and Rockport area presented upon arrival at 5p, posted opening time for our 5:15p reservation, that day. We, along with 10 or so other folks, experienced the little power trip on opening "promptly" at 5:08p with the front door closed and local folks sharing to que up in an adjacent hallway. Once surviving this little obstacle course, we are seated. The harbor view remained amazing, in our opinion, the absolute best part of the evening. To be fair, our cocktails were generous and served cold as well. Thank you! Our server never introduced herself. The process and resulting experience this visit was much different than the first....likely for several reasons. Our server would only take a FULL order (i.e., appetizers and entrees) before proceeding...."Chef's Rules"; a great way to ensure fewer walk-outs after apps. Dishes are presented by another team member and taken away by yet another. Our server NEVER inquired about how we liked, or were we enjoying, our food. The mussels, this time, were the size of NZ Green Lipped (i.e., laaarrrge) ... not our favorite, with little seasoning. My wife ordered the "Bluefin Tuna Special" .... another mistake but with a pattern developing here ... buy low(er) quality seafood and charge a premium price. Jane eats A LOT OF FISH; Bluefin is one of her favorites. This dish was essentially inedible, filled with sinew and with poor texture. A team member came to clear out entree plates, only inquiring "Are you done?"even with a plate of fish still present. At this point, Jane asks to speak to our server. Once she came over, Jane showed her the sinew-filled tuna and shared her experience with a high grade of Bluefin is that it should be like butter and NOT filled with sinew. The ONLY response from our server was " I will tell the chef". We waited for her to come back with a response ... CRICKETS. Her next move was to come to present our bill. Jane looks at her and waits ... nada. So she inquires; the reply is " the Owner says that this can happen with fish"; NO APOLOGY AND NO ACCOMMODATION. We agree, this outcome certainly will happen when you begin with marginal quality ingredients. Just to illustrate a point, the very next nite, we dined at a lovely spot in Bar Harbor. Jane again ordered the local Bluefin, which was BEAUTIFUL AND LIKE BUTTER...NO trace of sinew and at essentially the same price. Attached are two pics...you can easily tell which is which. If you are in the Rockport, Rockland or Camden, do your party a HUGH FAVOR; avoid this place and consider the commute to and from Basserie Le Brun instead. Too bad!

We had reservations at 7:30pm on a Sunday night in mid May. We were seated at our chosen bar seats right away. Our server Jessica was really busy, but took very good care of us and was very bubbly. We started with the drinks Small Craft Advisory and Kilnwooder. Both were excellent. For dinner we shared the Finnan & Fingerlings salad and the mussels. The salad was fresh, but we were a little disappointed that we only had three little potato slivers. Also, the croutons were so large that they were hard to eat. The flavors were on point though. The mussels were terrible. They were so mushy that they disintegrated in our mouths. We couldn't eat them. Jessica happily removed them from our bill. The star of the night was the special: Fiddleheads in garlic and butter. Wow, it was one of the best dishes we ate on our trip. For dessert we had the Bread Pudding. It was excellent. I would recommend this place if you are in the area.
Amy D — Google review
We made last minute “reservations” which were more of a “early walk in” when they opened at 5. Being from out of town, we had been referred by a local guide after stating we had primary interest in finding seafood (shellfish). We were quickly seated on the patio with an amazing view of the harbor below. Unfortunately, the shellfish offerings were merely oysters (as the name indicates) and one scallop dish. So….we did not stay, and moved on in our shellfish offerings quest. EVERYTHING else was top notch. Note: we arrived about a half hour before they opened, and during that time, approximately 20-25 people were standing on the sidewalk with us, so be sure to plan ahead.

We dined here with our son and daughter in law. What a fabulous time. The service is quick and fun, atmosphere quaint and relaxing and the food was amazing. We had burgers, scallops, a couple bottles of wine, muscles, poutine and collards. We highly recommend all but the collards, they lacked seasoning and tasted odd. I can’t judge by one dish so overall the restaurants amazing. We’ll definitely make this a regular dining option.

Truly excellent food yet truly poor service and vibe. I've been eating here under this owner and the previous one since it's inception. There is a certain perfected anethma when it comes to the hospitality and service. Thankfully the food stands on it own but I'll be hard pressed to come back soon. Midcoast Maine has many fine dining establishments. This is one of the better ones, but I'd rather an ordinary meal with human connections , a welcoming vibe and solid service than an excellent meal feeling like I'm doing them a favor to eat there.

"The View" is a popular spot during the summer months, offering great cocktails and small bites with stunning views of Camden harbor and Mt. Battie. The atmosphere is lovely, providing a picturesque setting above the town looking out over the bay. The menu selection may be small but it ensures quality and freshness in their offerings. The rooftop bar offers an excellent vantage point to enjoy the sunset while sipping on delicious drinks.
My partner and I had a lovely dinner here before our sunset boat cruise. We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Monday evening. The drinks were delicious (I got rosé, he got a cocktail) and the food was great too (I got the cauliflower steak, he got the burger), although I felt the food prices were a bit high. The view was gorgeous, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had nice conversations with some other patrons sitting nearby as well. Overall great experience!

We came here for a birthday whilst in the area. My first impression was the table situation was a little strange. Lots of tables of 4 and they seated 2 different couples at them, so you were facing a stranger whilst eating. Not something I have ever seen anywhere else. It would be much better to turn the seats around and make them tables of 2 and if you need 4 simply push together. I noticed a lot of couples looked very uncomfortable. Talking of uncomfortable the high top chairs.....no, they are not the one! Main courses are not main courses they are appetizers. 3 skewers of chicken is not a main meal and neither is 2 lamb koftas. I felt a little cheated to be honest. Whilst good it is not worth the price. This place is definitely just a quick cocktail place ....and boy those cocktails are good! Also do not appreciate the added 3% appreciation cost to the kitchen.....it was literally 5 pieces of grilled meat both on a bed of hummus. Wow

Yesterday, July 24th approximately 5:15. Party of 3. We were told to leave our phone # that it was a 40 minute wait. While we were waiting for the elevator a party of 3 walked in and the hostess, who was extremely aloof & rude, was suddenly able to find a table for 3. I went in to ask why our party of 3 could not be accommodated. She was embarrassed & speechless. She didn't have an answer. I told her I would be contacting management and that we would not be back. Arrogant, rude & dismissive. We vacation in Owls Head for 3 weeks every July and have never had an experience like this on the Mid-Coast. We won't be back to The View & I would be happy to share this extremely rude experience should I be asked. The hostess is the face of the establishment. Not impressed.

Looking out over the rooftops and harbor of Camden was a delicious experience in and of itself. The rooftop atmosphere was incomparable and the best we have encountered in a long while. The ceviche was fresh and inspired, topped with the freshest micro greens. The grilled broccolini swam in a lake of deliciousness. The salsa matcha complemented the just tender enough veggie to perfection. Let’s talk cheese. Previously the best halloumi award went to a special Levine restaurant in Raleigh called Sitta. The halloumi I was served tonight blew all others off the map. It was firm, salty, buttery goodness sandwiched with a homemade crostini and the best tomato jam I’ve had since Asheville’s Tupelo Honey Cafe. I give The View all the stars shining over its rooftop deck tonight. This wasn’t dinner it was a divine experience.

This is a very cute place! I ordered a maple latte and a ricotta shell. The coffee was okay and the ricotta shell was delicious! Found this place by the sidewalk sign outside advertising "Happy Hour". Absolutely a gem. Welcomes you the moment you walk in. The food and cocktails were incredible. We both had salmon and shared a cheese board. My favorite cocktail was The Cats Pajamas. Was made to perfection. I highly recommend this place for Happy Hour. $5 off cocktails. People were ordering popcorn and it was served with a tray of salt shakers (salt/vinegar, butter, etc). You will be impressed. Small but mighty

Bartender was rude and passive aggressive. She became overwhelmed when our family arrived, and when my mother-in-law asked her what a pickle bowl was, the bartender told her to go sit down. Perhaps she had a bad night or was too overwhelmed with the amount of people in the room, but that’s not how you treat customers. The drinks were great, but no drink is worth being treated like that.

The Vintage room is a hidden gem that feels like an authentic speakeasy style bar. The cocktail menu compares to anything you will find in high end luxury hotels but with a focus on innovative ingredients. The bar itself is brick lined with vintage fixtures creating an alluring vibe. Philip really created magic with the cocktails on our visit and great conversation. Highly recommended!

The Oak Room is a hotel lobby bar and restaurant that offers a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere for discerning guests. It is praised for its excellent location, attentive staff, and delightful dining experience. The restaurant provides an outstanding view of Rockport Harbor, making it a top choice for visitors. Guests can enjoy a plentiful breakfast menu with high-quality food offerings. With its great ambiance and delicious cuisine, the Oak Room stands out as the best place in the area to dine and is highly recommended by patrons.
Simply perfect. Staff are friendly even to weary and casual travelers. The restaurant is inside an immaculate historic hotel that is upscale. Stunning view of the water. Service is fast and efficient. The food is AMAZING. Simple items that are done with precision and professionalism by that young man in the kitchen. This results in a clean and attractive presentation perfect textures and layered flavors that amplify each other which takes a common dish quickly to a distinct memory. Prices given the location and decor are low. Highly recommend this unique experience. Lots of 2h parking on the street.

We enjoyed our meals here and the non alcoholic drinks. This cozy restaurant served up a delicious lobster roll, it wasn't traditional. The new England clam chowder was delicious. I have had better pizza, also they were advertised as 12 inch and they were closer to 9 inch. Don't be in a rush here, our food took an hour and twenty minutes to be brought out to the table.

We mostly ate well here (one dinner, one breakfast) and enjoyed the beautiful view and historic carved wood bar. One exception was the lobster bisque which was watery and flavorless (despite having chunks of lobster in it). It seemed to consist of only skim milk, lobster and insufficient salt. I’d go back, but I definitely would not order that again.

I arrived at the restaurant for breakfast at 10:30. The listing said they were open until 11. They were out of 3 items on the menu, The Salmon Benedict, The Smoked Ham Benedict and the corned beef hash and eggs. I ended up ordering the standard breakfast, eggs with bacon and homefries. I ordered the eggs over medium and they came over easy. Quite easy. The homefries had a strange fishy aftertaste to them. Unfortunately, the only options for toast were white, wheat and a chive and cheese biscuit which tasted good, but was so crumbly that it broke apart in my fingers. I used a fork for the biscuit. On a good note, the wait staff was lovely! Also it's good to know, not that it's the hotel's fault, is that the Village is very small and narrow. Its Beautiful with gorgeous ocean views from the restaurant, but they're limited to streetside parallel parking with a few small pull-in spots. The village was very crowded on a Tuesday morning late September. If you're towing anything, such as a trailer, good luck.

Ahhhmazing pizza and service! Sarah was so kind and helpful. Emma gave us a tour of the property and told us about this restaurant. Every dish coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The burgers, the salads, fish and chips. They even have mid week specials and happy hour. You will not be disappointed. Get there early to sit by the windows and have beautiful views of Rockport Harbor.

What a lovely spot! We sat outside on a warm summer afternoon and enjoyed their great happy hour, transitioning into dinner.

We stopped here for breakfast and were very excited- the place is so cute with beautiful views on the water. We waited some time for a server to arrive to take our drink order and then eventually our food order. This wasn't really an issue since we were enjoying the atmosphere. The food arrived and it was so disappointing. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and toast. The eggs were *wet* and not just a little. They were also not scrambled, just a sheet of eggs folded over several times and were just slimy. The sausage was ok, I didn't really care for it and they sliced one link down the middle so maybe you think it's 2 sausages? Doesn't matter, I ate half of what was there and it unsettled my stomach so I put it aside. But let's talk about the toast. The person who brought our food proudly told us the bread was homemade, great! We love homemade bread. Believe me when I tell you this toast- which was not buttered nor served with jam- should be labeled as a choking hazard. It was hard and so very dry. I would have asked for butter and jam, but our server mysteriously disappeared and didn't reappear until it was time for us to pay the $40+ for this truly disappointing meal. My husband- who is super laid back and rarely complains when it comes to food would just, out of the blue, for the rest of our trip say, "I cannot believe how bad that breakfast was." On a positive note, the potatoes were delicious. We had high hopes of a decent breakfast here and we left disappointed and hungry because the food was just so bad.

Absolutely baffled by the numerous 5 star reviews. No exaggeration, this is one of the worst “meals” I’ve had out—ever. Walking in, the dining room was filthy, food all over the floor, many tables unbussed, and then a glance in the kitchen revealed multiple piles of food items on the grill, in the window, etc that were either left unattended or haphazardly being dealt with. We should have left then. We started with watery Americanos. Our server was friendly but completely inattentive. She forgot to give us silverware, and then we painfully watched her tend to every single other guest while letting our entrees sit under the heat lamp for 5+ minutes. The food was nothing short of disgusting. It was obvious the food was prepared probably days ago and then reheated. The biscuit tasted old and rancid, the home fries were soggy and they mixed up our egg orders. I will never return to this establishment, the food was unpleasant and the whole experience a poor way to start our day.

When exploring the charming Camden area, a visit to Camden National Bank is a must for anyone seeking excellent customer service. Conveniently located at the corner of Main Street, this bank offers easy access for pedestrians and features its own parking lot. Visitors will appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who are dedicated to providing top-notch service without hidden fees or excessive charges.
Love this bank they offer great services, kickbacks and you don't get nickle and dimed by tons of "maintenance" charges. And the people that work here are always very nice and helpful!

One of the better customer service Camden National Banks around. The service here is great and they are right on the corner of Main Street which makes it pretty nice for anyone that is walking. They have their own parking lot too which is great.

i would like for everyone to know that i was talking to a bank loan officer today that told me that my social security disability check would not count towards a bank loan so that my wife and i could get a loan so that we could maybe buy our own mobil home. then this jerk had the nerve to ask me if i had x amount to put down, how is one going to be able to put down a large amount for eve a small home when you are on disability, and knowing full well if you have any large amount of of funds on hand ssi is going to come and take even more of your money to the point that they will try and leave you just about broke.

Bar
Myrtle Street Tavern is a popular local dive bar offering a variety of drink specials. They have $2 domestic bottles and drafts, $3 imports, bottles and drafts, as well as $5 tall well drinks and $6 tall call drinks. The atmosphere is characterized by its local color and affordability, with free pool and outdoor seating available. Myrtle Street Tavern is known for its consistently level playing surface on their pool table which they move twice a week.
came in for a nice cup of chili to warm up during the wind and rain storm. Nice clean place. I didn’t know what I wanted to drink and I told the bartender something with tequila and not overly sweet. Katie whipped me up a delicious Paloma drink. The chili was good and hearty. perfect to chase the cold chill away… She told me about the Karaoke night and I went back later for that. it was hysterical and lots of fun. love it when the whole bar gets involved and sings along ! Hot tip ask them about the dice !!!

What a fun place this is the dive bar in Rockland, Maine Lots of fun smoking on the porch listen to the DJ talking to the locals. I got so comfortable. I forgot my credit card and they’re very accommodating for me to pick it up the next day.
Tom T — Google review
It's definitely a local hangout, the type of bar where everyone knows everyone. A group of six of us went for a late lunch and drinks. The bartender was very friendly and quick to get our drinks and food orders out. I enjoyed the vibe of the place. It's not big inside but managed to fit a lot. Huge bar, pool table, and darts. The deck out front is for summer. The following is just me being a food snob, we ordered the following chicken nachos, veggie rolls, coconut shrimp, curly fries, and a cheese burger deluxe Again, this is just me being picky, but the food is your typical bar food nothing to brag about, I wouldn't recommend the burgers mine was burnt and overdone, the coconut shrimp on the soggy side. I'd stick with the basics like fries and nachos stuff like that. Again me just being picky. It's open late, and it looks like a fun spot to have some drinks and hang out.

Had an epic time at the Myrtle Street Tavern last night! Bartender Todd was a terrific host: friendly, helpful and efficient. He recommended the seafood chowder which was incredible--so packed with seafood that my spoon could stand on end! At 8 pm a band started playing and the bar started rockin'. Patrons were a mix of regulars and first-timers like me; very friendly.

Leslie is there!! The local legend Todd, is there. (He's been bar tending in Rockkand for over 20 years. I refuse to tell you how I know this😉) I didn't rate the food because I go there to drink. I have had a snack here and there, and it was delicious, but not a meal, so I'm not qualified to rate it, so I won't. We can't forget about Casidy! She's so bubbly and sweet! She makes you feel at home with the gruff, high pitched voice. ALWAYS has a smile that just melts your heart ❤️. My family was up visiting from Virginia, and I made them come here. This is the classic American "dive bar" (I say that in the most complimentary, respectful way), which is a MUST visit.

Here for the HR conference. What an awesome spot with locals. Awesome service, good food.

Weak drinks, cheap decor, recycled pop overplayed music that made me feel lame, and the drinks were really weak. Also the atmosphere wasn’t awesome. They had string lights up and home sconces up.
