We were there to celebrate our anniversary and received a complimentary glass of bubbles to toast the occasion. However, I was shocked by the unusual smell upon arrival, which immediately set a negative tone. The tables and seats were in very poor condition, and it seems the place could really use some renovation. As for the food, it was just okay—nothing as impressive as I had hoped. The risotto was overcooked and lacked the proper ‘al dente’ texture, and it appeared they did not use the appropriate type of rice. On the other hand, the fish was very well prepared and cooked to perfection. The best part of our experience was the service. The server was professional, attentive, and truly deserved praise. I’m sharing these impressions so that the management knows both the strengths and the areas needing improvement.

Is not quite often when you get to be surprised, I had the incredible opportunity and be lucky enough to have the best steaks in many years. This place is just amazing, the food is mind blowing! But the service is top notch. Javi and Milton are rock stars. I need to say that not all the time I bump with a restaurant that will make me travel just to have one more meal; this is it!!! Thank you guys. I’ll be back.

House Wine & Bistro in McAllen is an absolute gem! I've been coming here for the past 10 years, and it's always been a hit. During my recent visit, our group enjoyed an exceptional dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the grilled panela, putanesca risotto with pan-seared salmon, lamb chops, ribeye, and pesce risotto. Everything was outstanding. The only minor hiccup was that the putanesca risotto was a bit on the salty side, but the staff was quick to address the issue, exemplifying their commitment to customer satisfaction. This level of service truly sets House Wine & Bistro apart. And, I can't forget to mention that the Italian donuts were absolutely amazing - the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. To complement our meal, we ordered a bottle of Susana Balbo Malbec, which paired beautifully with the dishes. If you're looking for a reliable spot for excellent food and a delightful dining experience, House Wine & Bistro is the place to be. Ten years of consistently great visits speak volumes about the quality and excellence you can expect here. Five stars all the way!

I came out for a quick dinner with my son and granddaughter and so happy I did. The service was excellent (SB- I don't want to misspell her name was amazing) and so was the food. The steak was perfection as was the Picaña Risotto, McAllen Burger, and Bombolino. The Calamari was also delicious. From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the time we left, we were greeted and treated with kindness and attentiveness. A gentleman noticed that my granddaughter was a little cold and raised the temperature to accommodate her. This gesture was greatly appreciated. Everyone in the restaurant, staff and guests, seemed very happy and relaxed. This restaurant had a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back soon to enjoy another great meal. Was traveling for work and decided to stop here based on Trip Advisor reviews. Was going to go to Salt but so glad I didn’t (that’ll be another review!) I made a reservation just in case but was able to be seated promptly. The service was fantastic and the food was divine! I took the servers and managers recommendations and they didn’t disappoint. The Yahweh salad is soooo good, the lime shrimp, the drink, dessert, all of it was fantastic! I’m sad I didn’t go back here the next night! I’ve learned my lesson! Management also comes around and talks to you. They don’t just ask you if your food is okay, they talk to you like you’re a long lost friend. I appreciated it. And the temperature in the restaurant was nice and cool. Will definitely be going back here!

We were promptly seated and came in when it was raining heavily . The staff took our raincoats and hung them so we wouldn't get wet . That was very thoughtful! We were quickly greeted by multiple staff members and everyone was really friendly. I ordered the mole enchiladas and pepino margarita. The margarita was so good and refreshing I ordered another one !

Great place for Mexican food, everything was excellent. The location is neat,clean, and has a great atmosphere. The staff and our server were excellent, super friendly, and took great care of us. They were fast with our order. This is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone.

Excellent atmosphere on the terrace. I was truly amazed, but the service was incredibly poor from the entire staff, especially from the waitress/hostess Michelle! Terrible service to my cousins ​​and me. I can't believe how disrespectful she was when she threw plates at us. I'd never had that happen to me in any restaurant, but thank goodness the food was good, and the atmosphere, along with a nice glass of Merlot, relaxed me.

Our first time eating at the Republic of the Rio Grande restaurant on my birthday. What an amazing experience. I had the avocado salmon and my husband had the 12 oz ribeye. Both were excellent. Our waiter, Hector, was wonderful. He made me one of the best old fashions I have ever had! Dessert was an on the house almond taco filled with vanilla mousse that I had read about and it did not disappoint. Our first time there but definitely not our last!

This was actually my first job ever 25 years ago! It has not changed. The food is delicious! The Avocado Chicken was very moist and flavorful. NO MATTER WHAT…save room and ORDER THE ALMOND TACO for dessert!!! You won’t regret it! I promise!! The have live music outside on the patio in the evenings. (You might want to check the schedule) Great place for intimate dinners, birthday dinners, or just a nice lunch. When the weather is nice, the patio is a lovely place to sit. I had my college graduation dinner there so it is really great for any occasion. Chorizo Queso was the best I’ve ever had. Suggestion…ask for chips instead of tortillas. Oven baked pizzas are delicious. Ribs….AMAZING! NOTE: MY mom ordered the steak chicharrónes and was not impressed by them.

Excellent service, food, drinks, and atmosphere! My family had a wonderful meal and our server, Calderon, was awesome. Attentive but never overbearing, quick and accurate. I flew in to the booming metropolis of McAllen, TX for work and had no idea what to expect. A colleague suggested The Republic of Rio Grande. It was about half a mile from the hotel, so we went. The place is large and roomy inside. No blaring music and quiet enough to have conversation. Our waiter, Manny, went above and beyond to take care of us. He also gave us some great local advice on late night taco trucks. We ordered the queso chorizo, beef fajitas, and my wife had a ribeye. She also ordered a watermelon margarita. The steak was perfectly cooked, as were the fajitas. The tortillas are hand made or well done enough that I couldn’t tell. The salsa was SPICY and I loved it. The rice that came with my fajitas was new to me. Not typical Tex-mex or northern Mexican. Made with herbs and cilantro instead of tomato. Delicious. Great place, great service, fantastic food.

One of the BEST steaks I have had in a beautiful environment. This restaurant is so classy with a beautiful outside seating area. The food, AMAZING. My steak was absolutely perfect. The service was great and drinks delicious. There was also live music a little later in the evening that was enjoyable. We loved it so much we went back a couple nights later. I look forward to visiting again!

Azul was an outstanding waitress—attentive, intuitive, and genuinely warm throughout my visit. She not only took care of every need with impeccable timing but also anticipated them before I had to ask. Her recommendation of the banana bread with ice cream for dessert was simply divine—easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Azul truly elevated the dining experience.

I’ve visited Salt several times and typically enjoy the experience, but our recent visit left much to be desired. The food was just okay—certainly not up to the standards we’ve come to expect. The tomatoes were overripe and so squishy, and the steak was riddled with tendons, making it tough to enjoy. Additionally, the salt board felt lacking in variety, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, the service was awful. We weren't given a drink menu, and after ordering drinks, our waiter vanished, leaving us to summon another staff member just to place our order. It took us asking for a dessert menu, and when I had a question, it was the restaurant manager who answered because our waiter was completely inattentive. I’ve never had such a negative experience at Salt before, and it’s made me reconsider dining there again. The quality of ingredients seems to be slipping, as I’ve never encountered bad cuts of meat or tomatoes during previous visits. I sincerely hope they address these issues, as I’d love to see Salt return to its former glory.

My husband and I went this past Friday for date night after it was recommended by a few of his colleagues. The appetizers were very good. The chips were home made and with the cheese sauce? Sheeesh 10/10. The sriracha shrimp were also very good, they come 6 shrimps so perfect for sharing, and they’re a good size too. I’d recommend getting them too 9/10. The lemonade was also very good, very refreshing for a hot summer day, my husband and I really enjoyed them 9.5/10. The pan de campo was good, it’s just not my cup of tea. But my husband liked it so I’ll take it as a win. They gave us the jalapeño mashed and was honestly very good, I could take the jalapeños and the mash potatoes had a kick to it, 10/10 i would recommend it. Now, the pork chop, it was good but I’ve had better. It came with a jalapeño tamale that was good but I wouldn’t get it again, I thought it was too porky for me so the flavor kind of overwhelmed me 5/10, I would go for something else. And my husband got the pork shank, that was very delicious, very lean, and their carrots and fries were very good. The sauce paired beautifully with the meat, 8.5/10. Over all I would give this experience a 4/5 stars for spending a little close to $200 for 2 persons. Most def we will be back.

So we don't make down to McAllen TX as often as we would like, life and business, just keep happening. This week and project brought us to McAllen, and we made sure to come back to SALT. The Kitchen Bar is our favorite. One of our favorites anywhere.

Larry and Jesicca Delgado’s restaurant in McAllen is superb. The menu and service are without equal. It is our go to eatery whenever we are in that broader region of Texas. The Chef’s Table is the place to be. Try the Texas fillet with potato pave. It goes well with either of two Belgium “suds”.

Had a reservation on a Friday Night and was seated promptly. Have been here several times and service is always great. Recommend the watermelon cocktails, refreshing and slightly sweet. This time tried the scallops, which was a light dish but full of flavor. Shared the Baked Alaska, which was delightful. Was not a fan of the Prickly Pear drink, and the restaurant was warm. Several guests were fanning themselves. Regardless, would still come back.

If you’re in McAllen, TX, SALT - New American Table is an absolute must-visit! Knowing Chef Delgado’s dedication to the community and his efforts to support local food banks, I was excited to try his renowned cuisine. Dining there with my daughter was a unique, unforgettable experience—a true journey of flavors from start to finish. Each dish, from appetizers to dessert, was crafted with incredible attention to flavor and presentation. Sitting by the kitchen was a treat, allowing us to watch the team work and interact closely with our amazing server, Hugo. We were well taken care of by the chef and his team, who ensured every moment was special. I’ll be making the 2.5-hour journey back to McAllen soon for another visit!

My husband and I went here for a date night and it was an overall amazing experience! Our server, Apollo, was a big part of that. He provided great, genuinely happy service and his recommendations for appetizers and desserts didn't disappoint. I had the filet and my husband had the ribs, we enjoyed the fried burrata appetizer and ended it with the Baked Alaska which is probably one of if not the best dessert I've ever had. Would love to come back!

Spent my birthday here & it was wonderful! I had an amazing time with my friends! I wish I could remember our servers name because he was so attentive & did everything he could to make sure we were all happy and taken care of! 100% recommend you eat here! The food was also great!

My goodness, where do I even begin with this place? We try to visit at least twice a month because it’s the perfect spot to unwind with dinner and drinks after a long day at work. We’ve been coming here for the past 2–3 years, and every visit has been amazing. Whenever we have friends or family in town, this is our go-to spot to bring them. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. As you can probably tell, I love their burgers. The only downside is that the menu and drink options change from time to time. It can be a bit of a letdown when you fall in love with something and it disappears, but I’ve come to appreciate the rotation—it gives me an excuse to try new things, and I usually end up loving those too. I still miss the Sweet Escape cocktail with the little flame on top—it was one of my all-time favorites, but it’s been off the menu for a while now. I highly recommend this place to any burger lover, but there’s so much more to enjoy. The meatloaf is superb, the chicken avocado Caesar salad is amazing, the fish sandwich is fantastic, and the calamari is super tasty. I’ll definitely keep coming back and recommending this gem to everyone I know!

Even the simplest burger is amazing bc of the amazing bread and bc the beef tastes asada. The one with wasabi sauce was especially amazing and was not hot. Fries are solid. I did have to flag not staff multiple times both of the times i’ve been, they love to chat loudly with their coworkers and patrons rather than coming back on pending customers. Food is still worth coming for, but this food does deserve better service. Also, both times staff did not know what to recommend based on a specific question, they just said what they like, which was not my question. No training obviously not their fault. Third visit -The taste of the pizza was great, the texture of the bread was interesting…not the best. The burger with the goat cheese was alright. We tried the strawberry mojito and the pina/coconut drink, wouldn’t recommend either. The coconut didnt taste like coconut, the other one was really sour. Our server Alex was fantastic.

The creative touches on familiar cuisine are very much appreciated at this place. The pricing leans towards the unfair side of the equation, but at least the ingredient quality is not poor, so that this is not a deal breaker. Service can be somewhat disconnected, but still polite.

The place is nice. Staff is friendly. But omg the food is expensive lol 7-8 pieces of cauliflower $11. A plate of French fries $10! Drinks are $12+ unless you go during happy hour $7. Won’t be back because it’s too expensive for what you are given. It’s only worth it for drinks during happy hour

We checked this place out a few weeks ago and it was nice. The service was good, talked a little too much but nice. We tried their brunch menu and one item from their regular menu, very accommodating. Some also had a drink. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food except me. The waffles were dense and needed syrup. The chicken breading was very bland, like flour with no seasoning. I think next time, I will try something different. This place had a great atmosphere, seating was also outside and the bathrooms were very clean and nice.

I ordered an off-menu Land and Sea dish, which came with a giant shrimp and two petite filets topped with different gravies. Everything was cooked perfectly — the shrimp was flavorful, the steaks were tender, and the vegetables were delicious. The flavors overall were outstanding. This is a true local steakhouse, not a chain, and it feels warm and welcoming. The inside is beautifully decorated and includes a separate bar area, while the outdoor seating area is cozy and romantic — an ideal spot to bring a date. We also tried the cupcakes, which were excellent. Service was average, but overall good. In general, I highly recommend this place for both the food and the atmosphere. Reservations are recommended during the weekend

Heard so many great stories about this steakhouse & finally an honor to be seated at such a world class restaurant! The atmosphere was phenomenal, the service was fantastic & the food was more than words can describe! Our server was on point with his presentation & cadence. If you’re a first timer just let them know. Order a drink and browse the menu & they’ll take it from there. I recommend the ribeye cooked rare+. Started off with crab cakes followed by the lobster bisque. Then a wedge salad with avocado & feta drizzle w balsamic v. Had a couple of beef wellingtons rolls with thin crisp pan seared onions & Aioli sauce The ribeye came with a Wellington twice baked potato that was unbelievable! You will never have a better meal 🥘

We are new to the Valley and are searching the little gems. We found one at Santa Fe. The steaks were great. My spouse had the filet, cooked to perfection medium rare and velvet smooth. I went for the ribeye. Same results, perfectly cooked. Both steaks had flame char. Our server, Poppy, was divine. She was so helpful and attentive. We will be back.

Loved every appetizer ordered to include the calamari, beef wellington, and escargo. Particularly enjoyed the escargo served in a delicious creamy wine sauce with crispy bread. My main entre was the Filet Oscar which is served with asparagus. My filet was perfectly medium rare and I enjoyed every bite. Service is outstanding! My friends ordered the lamb which was also tender and cooked to perfection! Beautiful plate presentation.

This was my first time and the food was alright. I expected the food to taste better but it seemed as if the food was over seasoned and seasoned to taste different than what it should. I got the sea bass and my husband got the rack of lamb. The sides didn’t taste good them being the Brussels sprouts, the peaches and the potatoes. The sauce that was on the rack of lamb tasted bitter and the meat tasted like iron even though it was cooked to medium well. The salad was also nothing special with it heigh mainly a mix of greens and I kid you not a piece of baby corn, a slice of bell pepper a baby carrot, slice of cucumber and half of a baby tomato. I would recommend going elsewhere and will more than likely not come back.

My family and I dined here for my birthday. First and foremost, I will say the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. But the service we received was terrible. First, our waitress, Judy, insinuated we could not afford the escargot I wanted to order (which was only $18). Then, when we asked for a wine to start off, she took 30 minutes to look for the wine. By the time we finally received another choice of wine (because the other wine was out of stock), we were ready to order our main course. Also, she forced us to wait even longer order after asking her twice to take our order. She also spilled our wine and didn’t offer to clean up the mess or compensate in anyway. She just walked away. We had to stop the manager and ask him if we could get our table cloth changed. By the end of the night, we were just appalled by lack of good customer service and disregard for the fact that it was my birthday and first time dining here. Other than that, thumbs up to the chefs, the food was amazing, just needed to be a little hotter.

The food was great but the service was very Bad . At first glance the waitress off use a happy hour option for our birthday girl & looked down on us sitting at the table . We ordered wine & appetizers . Appetizers took over an hour to come out. The wine was never found before the appetizers came out . The waitress never came back to let us know until 50 mins that she walking around the store looking for the wine & then gets the manager involved . Then we are finally told that have ran out of that bottle of wine so we had to choose another and it took over 20 mins my table to place that wine order . We was asked by many other waitress was we okay before our waitress came back . In the midst after finding out the wine wasn’t there and waiting to place an order for a different wine . We asked to place our main meal order for 30 mins the waitress declined to take our order telling us to give her a minute & let her find the new wine before she took our order . The entire time we watched her go to two different tables within the restaurant multiple times . Taking orders & serving food to people that came in after us. Also, she did come to table one time after finally taking our order and started to pour new glass of wine out of the purchased bottle and spilt it on the table cloth & did not change it . Waitress stated “ oops , I don’t have my glasses on today “ . The manager was told & let an another employee immediately know so they can change the cloth & the waitress lied and she said she had told him to when we clearly did it . & I still had to pay full price for the wine . I don’t find this acceptable as if just because we were young paying customers and did not look like the majority in the restaurant we was definitely treated differently. This table only had 3 African Americans celebrating a birthday . Our waitress name was Judy . We spent a total of 2 hrs 30 mins in the restaurant . Judy was the only problem other than that everything else was great !

Food was delicious. I ordered the Almondy and is was just great. We also ordered the Fried Shrimp and Scollop plate, a kids Fish and Fries, a kids Mini Corndogs and a Crab and Shrimp Boil. Everything was cooked to perfection. Overall the service and atmosphere was good.

A fantastic place to celebrate or just grab a bite to eat. We went for the Monday special on raw oysters, $0.75 each. We ordered 2 dozens, received a baker’s dozen. We tried their 20 piece botana of chicken, fish, shrimp and oysters with fries. The oysters were a little over fried; however, the fish was lightly battered, shrimp were butterflied and tasted sweet and the chicken were breaded with flavor. We had fried zucchini which had a good flavor. And for happy hour margaritas which had a good amount of alcohol.

The food was delicious. Fish is amazing. We had two appetizers they were really good. We will definitely be revisiting this restaurant.

We try to eat at least one of the Dirty Al's locations when we are in Mcallen Texas. My husband ordered Freddy's Mixup...it had snow crab, sausage, shrimp, corn, and red potatoes. It was a ton of food, great value for the price. Also try their sangria, it is amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive. Came back the next day for gumbo and shrimp, also amazing!

Food was delicious, tried a few dishes, Steak and shrimp, fried shrimp and fish, Cajun shrimp. Service was a bit slow, good thing we weren't in a hurry. Place was cozy, noise levels were low but was not packed at mid afternoon. Parking was easy, seemed to be adequate at busier times. Prices were on par with other similar venues. Ordered enough so we had leftovers which made for a great breakfast the next morning.

Best fried fish I've ever had. I had been looking for a place like this and I finally found it. WOW!!! Everything was so delicious, I'm going to be a regular here. Job well done.

Such an experience. The atmosphere was amazing it was a nice surprise to see they had live music. The food was served pretty quickly and the servers were very attentive. Totally recommend for a special occasion they do every effort to make it memorable.

Had a strawberry vodka lemonade and it was delicious, as well as the appetizer. my husband and I had a ribeye really flavorful, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, it was our first anniversary and they were so kind and gave us a dessert. service 10/10 really recommend this restaurant 🙂

Patio on Guerra is easily one of McAllen’s best spots for a nice dinner out. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The food was outstanding. This is the kind of place you go to when you want a great meal and a memorable experience. Highly recommend for date night, special occasions, or just treating yourself.

I love this restaurant! Every year my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food is always so delicious and the presentation is also done extremely well. The ribeye steak is always cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth! The atmosphere is nice and cozy makes it very romantic. Always look forward to coming here!

I had the most delightful dining experience at The Patio on Guerra, all thanks to our exceptional waiter Ruben! From the moment we were sat, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. We started our culinary journey with the steak tapas, and they were simply mouthwatering. But what truly impressed us was Ruben's attentiveness to our preferences. My wife usually isn't a fan of fish unless it's fried, but upon Ruben's recommendation, she decided to try the pan seared Red Snapper. And let me tell you, she was blown away! The Red Snapper was cooked to perfection and had a flavor that left her wanting more. As for me, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with red curry sauce on the side, and it was a delightful choice. The fish was incredibly tender and paired beautifully with the red curry sauce. The presentation was impeccable, and every bite was a delight. Overall, our experience at The Patio on Guerra was fantastic, and it was largely thanks to Ruben's outstanding service. His knowledge of the menu and his genuine enthusiasm for the dishes made our evening truly memorable. Visited a couple of times and the kitchen is very consistent with the quality of their items. Everything is fresh, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Recommend for friends/family gatherings or even a quick date(can get a bit loud).

It was my first time going to this place. Environment is nice, the whole place seemed clean. Service was timely. The food was not my typical menu but I went to try something different.. the Miguel’s queso appetizer was bomb! Firecracker shrimp was also good BUT did not beat the queso one! steak bowl had literally 5 pieces of meat. The Thai grilled pork chop plate was alright, the pork chop was juicy and had a nice flavor to it but it had TOO much of the vegetables and fried cauliflower rice.. so did the steak bowl. But like I say everyone had different experiences and different tastebuds! Nice experience overall. Service was very good from my waitress.

I can’t recommend Yard House enough! The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and came out fresh and hot. The service was on another level. Ted, Blake, and Lori were all incredible and truly made us feel cared for, but honestly the entire team was so kind and attentive. I’ve been to many different restaurants, and I can honestly say this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Yard House made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and it wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about going, don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed!

Fun atmosphere but kinda loud so more for sports watching on one of the many tvs, food is good mostly but the steak pieces i asked for on my pizza were very rubbery Pizza was was awesome like always. The parmesan fries are OMG! Both drinks I ordered were Fabulous the pink dragon margarita and the lavender drop marrini. So many beers to choose from, the one we had was great for being on tap (blue moon). Service was good too, very attentive and fast, went on a Sunday evening.

TLDR: good food, good service. I came a little after happy hour(party of 1). Even though the restaurant was starting to get a little busy I was sat very quickly and greeted quickly by my server. The service was efficient and he was very good at anticipating my needs. I ordered two happy hour menu items the mushroom Pizza and Beef sliders and it was a lot of food. Hot, fresh, and yummy.

This place is delicious! Everything I tried was great. This restaurant is now on my local favorites list.

Harrison and his team provided service which was quick and responsive to my needs and desires. The Caesar salad and the chicken tortilla soup arrived in unison with two different servers . Soup had just a touch of a kick to it with some extra crispy tortilla slices. The sauce for the veggies with the tuna was superb. The sesame seed in crusted ahi tuna was good. The sauce for the tuna was excellent. The presentation of the lemons for my tea was enjoyable.

🚫 Absolutely Horrible Experience at Twin Peaks – Never Again 🚫 901 Interstate Hwy 2, W Expy 83, McAllen, TX 78503 Date: 9/6/2025 We called ahead to confirm that Twin Peaks would be showing the UTRGV football game. They said yes, so my family and I packed up in our tailgate gear and went in excited. But from the moment we sat down, things started to unravel. First, we were told they wouldn’t be showing the game after all. Fine—I figured I could stream it on my phone while we ate. My daughter ordered BBQ chicken wings and fries, I had nachos, my wife a salad, and my niece tacos. Everything seemed normal until disaster struck. 👉 My daughter suddenly jumped up and ran to the restroom covering her mouth. When we looked at her plate, we saw an earwig crawling out from under her french fries. Yes—an actual bug in the food. I flagged down staff and got the manager, expecting him to take this seriously. Instead, his response was to pick up the tray and casually say, “It’s alive, so it’s fine—I’ll just replace it.” Are you kidding me?! That’s not how you handle a health hazard. We refused to finish our meals and drinks. The manager’s “solution” was to comp the fries and wings, tell us to “have a nice day,” and walk away. Meanwhile, multiple waitresses apologized and even admitted that management has been terrible. Other customers saw what happened, I showed them pictures, and people started leaving. The manager came back later still brushing it off, saying it could’ve come from anywhere. I told him, "Sorry, but earwigs don’t just appear in clean kitchens—if one made it to our table, there’s a bigger problem in the back". The manager's name was Joe Blas. I left furious. We should’ve gone to 5x5 Brewery in Mission—they had the game on, great service, and never once have we had an issue there. ⚠ Bottom line: Twin Peaks has a management problem and based on our experience, a bug infestation issue. If you care about food safety, your family’s health, or basic respect from management, stay away. If anyone knows someone at the Health Department, please share this. That place needs to be inspected immediately.

The girls did their best but were kind of lost. The atmosphere was not as I'd expect and the beer was drowning in ICE ! Half way through the cup, it was more water than beer... We were full from previous day and ordered the smallest portions they had.

Nothing better than watching a Sunday cowboys game at this place. Perfect view of a TV no matter where you sit really. Their food is going to be the best you’ll ever get from a sports bar vibe. And my server Kim made the whole experience much better. Making sure I was taken care of and seeing if I need anything from more food or more beer. Also, even though it was busy she still made time to make conversation with me which was really nice cause damn this girl is pretty and funny. Definitely recommend her, you won’t regret having her as your server and going to this place in general.

I had such an amazing experience at Twin Peaks thanks to our server SUNNY!!! love her!!! From the moment we sat down, she was super welcoming, friendly, and attentive. She made great recommendations, kept our drinks full without us ever having to ask, and checked in just the right amount so we felt taken care of but never rushed. Stopped by for a quick bite with some friends for lunch. I had never been there before so I wasn't sure what to order, but our servers Sandy and Maggie were easygoing and patient with us (we couldn't decide what to order) and gave us some recommendations to help us out. I went with the hangover and was not disappointed. Despite the rush hour, Sandy and Maggie were awesome and attentive...not once did we need to ask them for anything. I'll definitely be back and will be requesting Sandy or Maggie as our server.

Located conveniently next to 80’s Brewery, Suerte offers another great spot for those hopping between bars. The atmosphere was inviting, and while we only sampled the drinks, the cocktails stood out for their originality and creativity. Fellow patrons also mentioned that the food here is worth trying, adding to its appeal. It’s also recommended as a sports bar, making it a versatile destination for different occasions. Definitely a place we’d consider revisiting!

Finally, got around to trying this restaurant and ordered the tacos matamoros. I had my order delivered and expected a a box with a lid. It was a small bag with six mini tacos and nothing else for $14.00. No potato or beans. Just six mini tacos. Don’t be fooled the picture makes them look bigger. What a cruel joke. Never again will I order here.

I’m new to the Valley—moved here from Houston back in January—and I kept hearing that Suerte was the spot to be on Taco Tuesdays. People said it felt like you were teleported to Mexico for a moment, so we had to give it a shot. We first tried the Shary location since it’s closest to us. Honestly, it was pretty disappointing. The tacos were buns, but at least the pool table made it a fun night. We gave it another go and tried the McAllen location across from the mall. It was just okay—mid at best. The service felt lackluster and disengaged, and every margarita I ordered tasted like it had no liquor. Then we finally tried the Nolana location—and it was mint. From the moment we walked in, our server Cynthia made us feel genuinely welcomed. She took the time to greet us, acknowledged it was our first time there, and stayed on point from start to finish. Her service was attentive and flawless, making sure we had everything we needed without us having to ask twice. Now, we don’t even bother with the other two locations. Every time we go to Suerte, we make sure it’s at the Nolana spot and we always ask for Cynthia. Her personality is vibrant and warm—something you don’t always expect from someone as stunning as she is. Me and my wife both agree: Cynthia is a rare gem. She makes every Taco Tuesday memorable. Oh—and the drinks at Nolana? They don’t miss. 😉 Thanks again, Cynthia, for another exceptional evening. Suerte is lucky to have you.

I decided to take my friend out for dinner while she’s visiting the Valley for the week, and we were both so impressed with the great service we received. A big thank you to Roi for being so friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We were very pleased with the overall experience!

I'm cracking up. My of age friend (27) was denied drinks when she had her paper permit and phone photo and now TFW had its permit revoked (as per The Benchwire), oh the irony. Drinks were alright.

Great bar and ambiance . I went on Wednesday on Flying mic night and it was very fun. Food is great too, only thing I would add is more choices for craft beer and a mixology menu.

Great Pizza!!! Good place to hang drink some beers, play pool or catch a show. Did I mention the pizza? The pizza is super good especially when you feeling buzzed. Next time you pass The Flying Walrus don't judge it by its looks. Go inside order a pizza and enjoy a live show in the back.

Hands down the best bar in McAllen to have a good time. Staff is friendly, drinks are priced well, and the music is always good, especially live music. Highly recommend.

I thought I was gonna enjoy the time capsule of the real oldies. When I arrived, there was more wuapango and cumbias than anything. I offered to pay the dj 40 bucks to play Madonna. He straight up said no. Should've known he was gonna refuse by the way he was dressed. He looked like he was ready for club fuego more than anything.

Bartender told me “you don’t tell me how to run my bar” after severing people 30 minutes after me when I was obviously in line first! Rude customer service.

On October 21, 2015 BTTF day, I made the owners of the previous Deloreans open up. I told them it seems like it would be a missed opportunity to be closed on such a day, even if it fell on a Wednesday. Then, like a damn nerd, I got dressed up. I even wore the sunglasses I got from Pizza Hut when they promoted the movie, and dragged my girlfriend to it. Little did she know I had colluded with the owner to put a proposal on screen. Everyone bought us drinks the rest of the night and the rest is history.

I've been here two times and each experience was fantastic. I love the music!! Prompts to the DJ for their music selection and adding some slight beats or bass to the music that gives it an extra oomph without changing it too drastically. I wish this place was bigger, it gets very packed and crowded but that didn't stop me from dancing and jamming out. Most people there were friendly and chill. No cover charge either! Love this place 👍

Super cool place to go chill & relax, until it gets busy & then the environment changes & dancing to good old 80s songs is the go to. Drinks & shots are great! Not into the 80s much but I really enjoyed my time there. Will most definitely go again if given the chance.

Really liked this place, but the drink specials weren't so special. It gets so packed everyone stands on the dance floor and no one can dance, so they really need to expand. If they remodeled and expanded, it would be a perfect 5 stars. Oh, and bigger bathrooms.

First thing.. Way too small for the crowd. Honestly I've been to bars this size before that had way more people but I didn't mind it then because I was young. The crowd here is an older crowd with a sprinkling of some bed wetters. A very mixed crowd from various backgrounds, all Spanish speaking. Drinks are.. Meh. Music is good and should set the mood for a good night but its just way to crowded to enjoy this place to the fullest. Restrooms are in the back so you literally have to push your way through the ocean of people. $5 cover charge male or female. No smoking area except out front. I dont think I would go back here unless they relocated to a bigger venue.

Went on a Saturday night, last night and had a blast. Have this fun dance place a second chance and they didn’t disappoint me. Music was great and dance floor was packed!

There's plenty of choices for Mexican food in town, we chose this one and definitely made a good choice. Our server was friendly, very efficient, kept our drinks filled, checked on our table several times after we were served. The food was unanimously very good, well prepared, fast service. Attractive venue, we were seated at a table for 6 and had plenty of room. My order of chicken fajitas was very good, the chicken was tender, just lacked flavoring. I should mention, one person ordered the beef fajitas and the beef was tough. Overall, I recommend this restaurant.

To be honest, this place is all right. It's pretty nice in terms of the look and the feel. I want to start out with the things that I did not like mostly because there's plenty to like about this place and in my opinion if they fix these things, it's worth the four stars and maybe 5. I'd need to go at least 2 more times to give the 5. Anyway. The small Ramekin used for salsa is illogical. It's too small to dip a chip into. See photo. The bartender did not give his name. How can I praise him here if I don't know his name? So from a standpoint of being personable, he wasn't really. But he was also doing several things including service bar so maybe he was too busy. Bars should NOT put the dish washing sinks near the bartop if at all possible. Because what happens is that the dirty dishes and the dripping water from the ones just washed, will invite gnats. Plus someone eating nearby doesn't want to eat near the dish washing. The tortillas were inferior. Too thin. Stuck together. Unevenly cooked. Now. The margarita was good. And very affordable. The fajitas were dry but had taste. Definitely better than some other places but I'm still on the hunt for the best fajitas that I can eat indoors, at a bartop, that isn't fast foody. Overall my meal was okay. I would go back. In fact I will go back and try the tacos and then another time I'll go back and I'll try the chicken plate. The manager was very nice and checked on me more than once. That is worth 1 star alone because too many places have managers who suck. Here's the places with managers that DONT suck according to MY experience so far: howling rabbits, reynas n.10th, here, ambra, oak uptown, olive garden mission, pappadeux, prime, salt grass, and there are plenty of places in haven't been or haven't interacted with the mgrs. Back to Palenque. I can definitely come back. Most people probably won't be disappointed with the experience. They're festive for your birthday. It's a bright decor. I say if you haven't been, give them a shot. My first time wasn't bad at all. I'll be back.

We absolutely love it here! The food is fantastic and absolutely authentic! Our server Jose Luis was amazing. He was very courteous, attentive and extremely friendly! We come all the way from Houston, Tx and this is always a MUST to have dinner here!

We took our Godson to celebrate his birthday this evening, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was great, and the service was excellent. Fernando was prompt, kind and attentive. In fact, there wasn’t a worker there that was not nice. Will definitely visit again.

Their food is served in ample sized servings. The ambiance is elegant, spacious and clean. The prices are somewhat steep compared to their other neighboring Palenque establishments. It's understandable however, that you're paying a steeper price to be elegantly served at a classier table setting. That said, if you're going to dinner for a celebration, this is a great place! If you simply want their typical great tasting food, stop by at one of the other ones, down the street. We tried those signature margarita drinks (see my attached picture). They truly don't disappoint! We couldn't decide on which one was our best.

The Appetizers set the mood of the restaurant. Meat was very tender and marinated. Environment, very well lit and open.

Very nice place. Came here and had the enchiladas that are filled with cheese since I do not eat meat. My son had the kids burger which he said tasted very good. It was a nice size. My sons father had the chicken mole enchiladas and said that they were also very good. I picked their cucumber lemonade which was very refreshing. Atmosphere is very calm, fancy enough for a dinner date OR work date. Everyone is very professional and kind.

Excellent Food, Friendly Service, and Great Atmosphere! I recently visited BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, and it was such a great experience from start to finish! The moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and seated quickly, even though the place was busy. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable perfect for a casual night out or a family dinner. The menu has something for everyone, from burgers and pizzas to pastas and salads, and everything looked amazing. I ordered the pizookie trio and it was delicious I totally recommend

First of all they forgot about me and my gf food. I think the food was preheated the fries were very stale. I couldn't even take a picture of my food it was the California Chicken club It was disgusting not good at all. My gf ordered the appetizers and the wings were very dry they had no flavor. The sliders had no seasoning. The lettuce was ugly and wilted. They did bring me a new order of wings which were more saucy but the wings themselves were bland.

First time visit and it exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated like royalty. The hostess was so friendly and engaging. Marco was entertaining, had great recommendations and was always available. Kevin, the GM introduced himself, and checked on us throughout our meal. The beer, food and dessert were excellent.

Good date idea , very welcoming and good. I recommend the cherry salmon. My server Rosie was wonderful very friendly and on top of everything I would request her next time I go.

Burger was awesome not gona lie chicken Alfredo was super dry to expensive for not good quality . Tables were super dirty waitress or works walking around acting dumb and not doing anything never got my plates removed or came to get asked if I wanted refill or another beer. I have been here multiple times and it was always great. I stopped going after they removed these particular ribs from their menu :( They were Scrumptious and so tasty! So, once they are back, I’ll be too. The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The cocktail menu is Divine ♥️

Really fun place for some upscale food. Everything was super tasty, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was great. No complaints. The brussel sprouts, tuna Tartare, and the filet were all noteworthy! Highly recommended. Plenty of parking and not too busy on a Saturday evening.

El Divino is one of our very favorite places to eat. The food and drinks are consistently excellent (since 2013!) and the restaurant is beautiful with a separate room for private functions. The fillet and Brussels sprouts are the best in McAllen and the burger is very good - it’s the dish visiting friends remember when we take them there. Make sure to ask for Jess, our favorite server, for a great dining experience. She always remembers our drink order, makes us feel so welcome, and is a huge part of why we keep coming back.

Great place! Interesting atmosphere...quiet, 1940's vibe. Eclectic menu but food was great. Service was spot on. Highly recommended, though maybe not a good choice for folks with kids. No children's nenu choices noted.

Great cigar lounge. Very comfortable. Food is great. Just wish I wasn't hurried during dinner and wish kitchen bar would stay open longer. Otherwise, I recommend the place for a date night.

Food: divino salad is light and crisp. Baguettes: nothing special, no flavor. Johnny Chicken with kimchi fried rice is subpar especially for the price. Chicken was soft and juicy but the jerk seasoning is strong. Kimchi fried rice is flat in flavor and salty, it’s missing the iconic smoky flavor signature of true well done fried rice. Drink: desert blossom. The alcohol drowns in the sweetness of the drink. Too sweet. Great idea.

First time here and the Cigar lounge was my go to. Other than that, the food was great, I highly recommend the Crab Cake if you’re not allergic. Everything on the menu was made very well. You can bring your own cigars so that was a good thing.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! Alejandra helped me out and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. She went above and beyond by offering me some coupons for my next visit, which I really appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavors and portions that left me more than satisfied. The desserts were amazing — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I also loved the beverages; they were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

8-29-25 First visit today for lunch. My wife ordered Blackened Bleu Burger with fries. Said the burger was good, but the bacon was severely undercooked. I ordered Chicken and Bacon Mac n Cheese. The cheese blend is good, could have a bit more but there is enough to cover the mac. There is a rich bacon flavor throughout the dish. You get that bacon taste even when there is none on the fork. There is plenty of chicken as well, but you might not want to stir, or it all can end up in the middle of the bowl. It comes with a piece of bread, that can be good, if you eat it while it is hot. I am not a big bread eater, so left it for last to taste, and realized that was a mistake. Waitstaff was pleasant, and checked on us often. The only other negative I can comment on is the music. We were in the bar, and the music was too loud to try to have a conversation without feeling like we were talking to everyone there. At one point the waitress came over to speak with us, and we could only guess at what she was saying, we couldnt hear her at all

DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK!!! We’ve gone twice. I ordered the steak both times because I decided to give them another chance. The first time, I asked for medium rare and they gave it to me well done. The second time I asked for medium rare as well and they gave it to me well done again. This time I decided to let the waiter know. He went back and they gave me another piece of steak. This one was extremely rare. I opened it up and it was dark Purple! Not pink. Not even red. Literally purple. I told him it was fine, that I’d just cook it at home and he said he would take it back. When he returned the steak was well done again. I gave up. Just problably will never return and I will be telling people not to order the steak there or not to go at all. The steak plate was about $23 and I was not offered a discount, or a return or refund. Paid full price and didn’t even eat it. Ridiculous. Will not be returning. Picture for reference of the 3rd time he brought it back. I cut it in strips to see the inside. I don’t see any pink. I just took it home didn’t eat any on the restaurant.

I have to be honest that I really like Bubba’s 33 food, just about everything is great, but today’s experience was not nice. I invited a friend for his first time and for his birthday, and informed the server from the very start about my birthday friend who was there with his wife and his son, as well as my wife. At least three times I kept reminding the server about the birthday courtesy and we waited even after I paid the ticket but never showed up. The pizza, wings, & fries were so good! Victor the manager was walking around, checking on the tables to make sure everything was as it should be. Our waiter Nate was on top of everything, so we never had to ask for refills! We also appreciated that the evening atmosphere was still family friendly. We will be back!

We celebrated my son’s Dads Birthday and the food was delicious, the service was on point. This is one of my son’s favorite places to eat and drink a COLD ONE, I even ordered a frozen Margarita that was to die for!!! The Fried Pickles and Onion Rings Hit the Spot!!! I highly recommend Bubbas in McAllen for those of you that are looking for great service, Delicious Food and COLD BEER!!!

Stored here for the 1st time to try out their $6.99 SPECIAL. I ended up getting their philly steak sandwich for $12 and my wife got the $6.99 burger special. For $6.99, IT'S A HECK OF A DEAL. I don't know how this place is as highly rated as it is, except that maybe the general public just doesn't know how badly they're being mistreated here... We stopped in here thinking, "It's always packed, it's gotta be good!" and assuming it was some London-style pub, or at least a place with decent bar food. First, the positives: The daily special drinks are dirt cheap, and even the $3 margarita was actually really tasty. You could still taste the tequila, so it wasn't overwhelming on the sweet & sour or anything, it was just a fairly solid recipe in general. We also ordered one of the trio-style appetizers, which was mostly the highlight of the meal... We got jalapeno poppers, battered mushrooms, and some kind of "potato bacon keg" thing that was essentially a marshmallow-sized bundle of mashed potatoes that was battered and fried... The mushrooms and jalapenos were our favorites, and the potato keg things weren't bad, they were just a little odd. Now, the negatives: We also ordered the $10 Thursday special, a ribeye and sides... The steak was actually a decent size and thickness for being a $10 special, and it had grill lines, but outside of the grill lines, it was a sickly grey color all over the outside. Flavor-wise, it was just ok. My wife enjoyed the broccoli that it came with, but barely made it halfway through the steak. I got the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. The corn was the highlight of that meal, super buttery, but aside from that, completely unseasoned... The chicken fried chicken was... not... I mean, it was chicken... it was cooked... it was not chicken fried chicken... There was no battered crispiness to it, it was essentially chicken with a very thin layer of skin, which seemed to have been air-fried to it maybe? And it separated at the drop of a hat. I couldn't cross-cut the chicken itself without all of the skin separating and riding back and forth on the knife blade. The chicken skin's texture in the mouth was somewhere between boiled chicken skin and microwaved chicken skin. The gravy was the only thing that lent it a somewhat vague memory of what chicken fried chicken was supposed to taste like... My mashed potatoes were covered in cheese that never quite melted, and was also completely unseasoned, and bland af. By the end of the meal, both of us were feeling like we would get off lucky if we could wake up tomorrow without having contracted food poisoning... It was all just such a swing-and-a-miss that we couldn't help but wonder why this place is always SO busy... Maybe every crew member takes 3 vehicles to work to make sure the parking lot looks mostly full?

I saw they had a special on 2 large pizzas so I called to place an order. I arrived, paid and my pizzas were given to me. My order was wrong, both pizzas had pepperoni and I had asked for pepperoni only on one pizza. In less then 5 minutes I was given my new pizza without pepperoni which made me realize my pizzas were not freshly made since it's impossible to do pizza in such a short period of time. Pizzas were extremely thin and of bad quality.

08/2022 We enjoy coming for comedy night. 😄 I had never tried their street tacos until a few days ago. THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!! 😋 I think I'll try their pizza🍕 next time. 03/2022 We always have a great time here! Last time was St. Patrick's Day, we were even offered some shrimp boil. Great drinks, great service, great music. 🎶

We had the $10.00 lunch ribeye, mashed potatoes, broccoli & drink. It was all perfectly cooked & very tasty. We had Anika serve us. She is very friendly & can make the MOST DELICIOUS Michelada & bloody Mary! I'm claiming her Bloody Mary as the best in the Valley! Levine (mgr) stopped by our table to be sure that all was well. Our party of 5 really enjoyed everything. The restaurant section was pleasant & had fun music playing.

Our family came for a special occasion and loved the environment and attention to detail. Their aesthetics were beautiful, the staff were very attentive, and the food was delicious. I especially loved the croquetas and the elote as well as the seasonal pescado. I also highly recommend the Paloma, which was such a fresh and balanced drink.

Delicious, -oddly- exuberant and minimalist at the same time. Absolutely unique dishes and obscure Mexican dishes. Portions run small but the taste definitely makes up for it. Extreme attention to detail and overzealous waiters. The manager (I guess she was the manager) stop by our table about 3 times to make sure everything was to our liking. I had no idea that we had such unique places in the Valley.

Very nice selection of Mexican plates and dishes. The view as you drive up looks like an old mansion in white. Inside it is spacious and comfortable. Outside they have a huge covered patio and a relaxing fountain. We sat outside and the temperature was cool but they had big heaters to keep the area warm. Food was excellent and so was the service. Very much enjoyed eating, talking, and mingling with family in a nice relaxing environment.

We love coming here for date night. Every time we try something new, and we’ve never been disappointed. If you’re sitting outdoors during the summer, come prepared to deal with lots of flies and mosquitoes. The ambiance both indoors and outdoors is great.

This place is absolutely amazing! First of all, make reservations!! Whether you sit inside or outside, this is a beautifully decorated place. Staff was great! Food was soooooo delicious. As an appetizer, my wife and I started with Aquachile; it was fresh and light. We, then, shared Birria Tacos and one of the daily specials (I think it was called Pollo Asado, they were chicken pops). Both we very savory and left me speechless, especially the tacos. We finished off with a desert, which was just a great way to end. We were extremely pleased and will be back soon.

I love this spot. If you have not been, or are hesitant to go, you really need to experience it for yourself. I come here all the time! (Seriously- I have more pics of the food here than of my dog.... sorry Jagger!) The service is excellent. You are usually greeted by someone who opens the door for you as if you're being welcomed into their home. When I go with my boyfriend we sit at the bar and order cool cocktails with Jorge (always made with fresh ingredients). When I go with my friends, we prefer to sit outside as the ambiance is pleasant and feels like a sweet escape from the traditional valley scene. There are only a few dishes on the menu that I have yet to try but it's hard not to keep going back to my favorites. It took me quite a while to get around to the mussels, and boy was I missing out. Very impressive. Very different. Very good. I used to get the empanadas a lot, and while I do recommend you try them, I usually end up opting for something else like the huaraches mixtos as an appy. THE HUARACHES MIXTOS though... they're great. 10/10 recommend. I really enjoy ordering the corn chowder, although I don't get it often enough. You can taste the love and great ingredients they put into it. And finally, my last recommendation (except dessert) is the cochinita pibil (braised pork in achiote). It is seasoned excellently and the bed of maiz atole it sits on adds a really interesting texture to each bite and you can't get enough. For dessert- the coco rayado- no question. Also- shoutout to Milton for making us feel like family. P.S. I have to be fair and honest---- One thing I am not a fan of - I have tried the Lomo Ancho twice and don't think I would order it a third. Dish has great flavor, the cut is always cooked to requested temperature, but the strip has some gnarly chewy spots. But I never order NY strips anyway so.. idk

Food is Amazing Here!!👍🏼👍🏼 We were here for a political rally & decided to order food. Everything we had was really good & the prices are fair. Portions are big. I had a salad & it was huge! My kids had chicken crispers & burgers with fries. The Band was really good (Cheyenne) & there is a stage, so I imagine there is live music on other nights as well. Lots of parking & a very pretty area of town. But the indoor seating is limited, mostly outdoor seating & in our RGV heat it was very, very hot when we went in early September. But otherwise, I would love to go back & would recommend.

Atmosphere is great to have a meal with friends outside. Wide range of options on draft. Sitting outside during the evening/night is very nice. Service is slow and location seems understaffed. Our server was very nice, kitchen was just backed up and caused food take a long time. Do NOT get the truffle parmesan fries. They are just french fries with cheap cheese on them. NOT worth the price at all. Good thing is the original french fries are good.

We went at 7:45 in a Friday night and had a party of 12. This place is huge and could accommodate us all. You have to wait until 50% of your party is there. We sat inside. It is a bit loud. So if you are wanting a more chill and relaxing vibe and can take the weather, sit outside. They have games and live music. Our server was super nice. I do feel with a large party she could have used some help. There was plenty of staff. We had to wait a bit to get refills of water and get check. The food was good just average bar food. We got the fried mushrooms. They just tasted like the had been flash fried -nothing special but good. The fish and chips need salt and the tartar sauce was more like a dill sauce and very thin. I didn’t particularly like it but the fish was good. My drink was delicious and dangerous. You can’t taste the alcohol so be careful.

We visited University Draft House tonight with the intention of enjoying some live music and having a few drinks. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant, and we left feeling disappointed and undervalued as customers. Upon arrival, we noticed that the outdoor area had plenty of empty tables, which gave us the impression that finding a spot wouldn’t be an issue (as seen by the photos, empty). However, as soon as we walked in, the hostess stopped us and asked if we had a reservation. We explained that we didn’t but simply wanted to grab a few drinks and listen to the music. She informed us that we needed a table and that there would be a 15-minute wait. We pointed out the numerous empty tables, but she insisted on the wait. Reluctantly, we decided to sit at the bar instead. Unfortunately, there weren’t two available seats, so we took one of the empty tables nearby. What happened next was even more frustrating. As we sat down, the hostess approached the waitress, pointed at us, and had a conversation we couldn’t hear. After that, we were completely ignored. Despite the waitresses attending to the table in front of us, not a single one came to our table to take our order or even acknowledge us. We eventually had to go to the bar ourselves to order drinks, which was not the experience we expected. The lack of attention and hospitality was shocking. As paying customers, we expected to be treated with respect and courtesy, but instead, we felt invisible. It’s no wonder the place was so empty—there are plenty of other options in the area, and this kind of service is a sure way to drive customers away. Overall, our experience at University Draft House was highly disappointing. The combination of poor service, lack of communication, and overall disregard for customers left us with no desire to return. We hope management takes note of these issues and makes improvements, as the potential for a great venue is there—it just needs better execution. The drinks we are good at all.

Stopped by University Draft House for lunch and ordered the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor, a delicious and satisfying dish. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a nice spot to enjoy a meal. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, a solid place for lunch, and I’d definitely come back to try more from the menu.

Visited on a bad night for the sorry staff at this place. Upon arrival, we were placed on a 45 min wait due to a part of 40. 1.5 hours later, my brother confronted the hosts who began mocking customers and laughing AFTER complainants walked away. Luckily this place had a bartender who took us into her own hands and accommodated us by getting us seated and ensuring we received a server. 2 hrs to get to the highlight of the night…onion rings! Absolutely a fantastic appetizer! The Freshman fish sandwich was atrocious and everyone at my table said their sandwiches were warm and bland. Definitely not a place to visit if you expect average service at best cuz this place will definitely still let you down with crappy service and blah food. The atmosphere was not bad. Would have preferred a more upbeat band but the acoustic duo performing kept temperaments calm after experiencing the crappy service and blah food this place offered.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we had a blast. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. We asked to sit outside since they had a live band. We had such a fun night eating, talking and dancing. Wally Garza & Javier Ramirez & others performed a variety of music...oldies, country & tejano. The service was efficient & very friendly. The food was delicious and made perfectly. We will definitely return to this place & we'll invite friends to join us.

Excellent service and food. I’m pretty much going to marry the pepperoni rolls in my next life! The pasta I ordered had an unexpected ingredient, so they switched it up with a basic pesto. Everything is made fresh to order. Huge pizzas if you have an event. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be back.

This was a great meal, I will definitely be coming back :) I had never been to Malfitany Pasta Company, but my friend invited me for my birthday so we went. It was a Friday at about 6 pm, not too busy but not crowded either. It’s divided into like a bar and sit down area. Bar was not too loud at all at this time. For the appetizer we got the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious, came out hot and timely. Very tasty. I also added the tomato soup to my meal which was delicious. Also warm and timely served. I like the small portion because I get full fast so portion was great. Our food arrived fast and hot. The serving might look small but it is very filling. I could not finish all of mine. The chicken was really good, breaded correctly, not too salty. The sauce was flavorful and the pasta was yummy. Cooked correctly. Hate when pasta is overcooked, not the case here. I wish I had room for dessert but I was so full. Prices are great and a really good vibe for a restaurant. Shoutout Des, great sever. I’m a person that asks a lot of questions and she was more than welcome to answer. Huge recommend for a good sit down meal.

9/4/25 The food was great here so had to try it again. This time came with my friend Leo and we sat in the bar to watch the game while we eat. Of course I had the pizza rolls at a starter there so good. I ordered the calzone (the works) and my friend had the chicken fettuccine alfredo. My food was very good, my friend said the fettuccine lacked flavor he did not like it but he did like them pizza rolls. I liked my calzone and got some pizza rolls with jalapenos to go. Everything was great, food entertainment, ambiance, but the service was slow. I don't blame the waitress she was going as fast as she can,but she was working at the bar and also working the floor on the bar side. For one person taking care of all those table and the bar she was doing really well but you could tell she was overwhelmed. Pasta Co you have to do better in have two or more people to help her 7/25/25: I decided to give the Pasta Co a try. Heard and read great things. Went with my parents and it a great experience. Our waitress (Ashley) was our server and she was very helpful and knowledgeable, she even sold me on the lasagna but didn't get cuz they had run out so I tried the chicken fettuccine which was really good. Way better the Olive Garden in my opinion. My Parents both got the stromboli which was very big both of them liked it very much. We also order pepperoni rolls as appetizers which I heard were really good and they were. They also brought us some garlic knots while we wait for our food and they were delicious. Our server Ashely was very good, she was polite and attentive to us. It also doesn't hurt that she was cute too. I would go again 9 our of 10

This is honestly a great restaurant. The service was impeccable. I took the waiters recommendation, Maccheroni Formagio, it was so good I forgot to take a picture! I went at 6PM, the atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and not loud like most places. Overall, great food, service, and atmosphere.

Holy cow this place is awesome!!! I ordered a caprese salad, calamari, and shrimp scampi. I didn’t get a chance to take a pic of the pasta because it was gone before I realized I had forgotten 😅 I also tried the clam chowder. Best flavors and textures I’ve ever tried Food was so fresh Service was a little slow but the best things in life are worth waiting for So worth it. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try

Greetings and salutations..let me start by saying I am truly blown away by this place. Today I decided to try something new and OH boy I'm so glad I did. From the minute you walk in this place to the time you leave and are all done eating you are transported to another place and time. The music and the atmosphere, perfect. I love listening to Frank Sinatra while eating real Italian food. My family and I were immediately greeted by Christy and Ashley and made to feel at home with smiles and friendly faces. Thank you for that and as for the food Holy Moly....wow. 🙏 ❤️ We went during lunchtime and the food was superb but really well priced. We ordered a bunch of dishes and all were equally good. Mine was lasagna and I cleaned my bowl 😆 🤣 😂 kids loved the pizza and my wife her shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and spinach artichoke dip. The garlic bread knots, pizza, and salads were top notch as well. Let me also say the ingredients were so fresh and that marinara sauce 😋 scrumptious 😋 thank you all for an amazing time and we will most definitely be back again. This is now my number 1 spot .. Upon arrival, the establishment was a bit empty. The servers were friendly, but to my liking, the explaining of each dish was unnecessary as it created expectations that were not met. Everything had its unique flavor, but it was still a bit bland. We also came here to celebrate a birthday (it was specified in the reservation) but there was no acknowledgment of such celebration, which made the person being celebrated a bit sad. Additionally, the outside area had a different menu, which I didn’t really understand why…

The atmosphere was very relaxed. I love the look of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive and kind. The food, drinks, and even bread was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back!

Last night was such a great experience at Espana. I had called to make the reservation on Friday night and the young lady was so helpful. It was our 5 year anniversary and explained that I wanted to make it very special for my wife. We arrived on Saturday and the hostess seated us and had our table ready. Our waiter was Isiah and he was so great and gave us good recommendations especially since it was our first time there. He started us with our drinks and gave us really good recommendations. We also started with the oxtail empanadas and they were great. We then ordered the camarones del Rey and the Osso Buco. It was a true dining experience. The waiter explained everything as far as what we were eating. The food was exquisite. I rarely find a place that serves great tasting food. We finished off with dessert which Isiah brought us for our anniversary. The whole evening was very special for us and they all treated us like royalty. Definitely will come back.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday, and the staff was very welcoming—our server was excellent. The appetizers and main dishes were delicious, and we truly enjoyed the food. However, I couldn’t give a full 5-star rating due to a couple of issues. It was extremely hot inside, and I’m not sure if the A/C was out, but it was uncomfortable enough that I was sweating. Additionally, the men's restroom was dirty and had a very unpleasant odor (like gas stations RR tend to be). For a party of five, we spent $350, so I expected a more polished overall experience. The food and service were great, but there’s definitely room for improvement in comfort and cleanliness.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! 9/27/25 was my Fiancé’s birthday, I reserved a table 2 weeks in advance for 7:15 P.M. and in the additional notes I wrote that if they could possibly accommodate an area that was a little bit more romantic. When we arrived we waited 15 minutes for a RESERVATION, not to mention us just standing there. Hostess then asked for my reservation twice. TWICE under my name before telling us to just pick out a table. That was strike one, they had no regard for the additional notes I had left. Gabriel was our server, and by far the WORST service I’ve ever had from a server, in my entire existence. We ordered an appetizer, a couple of drinks and the owner maybe( very older lady) came by our table and suggested we order soon since they had a party outside that was planning to order soon so our food can come out accordingly, basically rushing us. It went downhill from here. I felt like trying their pizza and ordered that when Gabriel told me they were out of dough. How are you out of dough at 7pm on a Saturday? You don’t have any cooks to prep inventory in the morning? So Gabriel said” Well if you’re looking for another affordable option I recommend the burger.” He said that snarky comment but I brushed it off and proceeded to order La costilla a la Pimienta as it was my second choice. I specifically asked for the rib to have NOTHING on it, no glaze or any sauce that they put on the rib along with mashed potatoes instead of the sweet potato. They brought out my fiancé’s meal WITHOUT mine, strike two. How are you going to Expo out an order that isn’t ready yet??? Then another 15 minutes go by and my rib comes out and my fiancés oxtail empanadas are already cold from waiting for my food. The rib was brought out with a glaze and sweet potato the FIRST TIME. I kindly told the server that they put a glaze and sweet potato on and underneath my rib as I understood that the kitchen makes mistakes but it is also the servers responsibility to make sure the order is out the way the customer asked for it before taking it out to me. I waited another 10 minutes for my rib the SECOND time and it was brought with the sauce and glaze with sweet potato. By this time I was already getting a bit upset at the fact that I clearly told “Gabriel” how I wanted my rib and he still brought it out wrong the second time. He never apologized for bringing the order wrong twice and proceeded to go back into the kitchen after I told him it’s wrong again. I wait another 10 minutes for the rib the THIRD time and it’s brought with a glaze on the rib with mash potatoes underneath. Gabriel smirkingly puts the plate on my side of the table and asks is it to my liking in a teasing tone of voice. I told him no Gabriel no it’s not. I told you how I wanted this rib and it still had glaze. I then asked for the owner. She came by within 10 minutes taking her sweet time. I told her everything as it is in this review, and she just smiled and said “Well you’re going to have to pay for it” HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FORCE SOMEONE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS INCORRECT THAT MANY TIMES??? That’s when I knew this place was going bankrupt/under when the “owner”is trying to make you pay for something they messed up on. Not to mention on my fiancés birthday? I was livid. I told her respectfully, no I am not, I am not paying for something you all messed up on, if you hadn’t messed up three times on it I would’ve gladly payed for it but now I don’t want to eat here. She started trying to coerce us by saying oh well don’t you just want to have a good time and enjoy it for your fiancé? Trying to coax my fiance with her words and body language to make me stay quiet and “enjoy the night at a place that can’t get an order right” I said look ma’am we’re not eating here so just bring me the check without the rib and we’ll be on our way. She keep insisting after the fact that I asked for the check that the rib is now ready and if I’d like for her to bring it out, obviously a lie to get me to pay for a meal. All in all an atrocious restaurant. Please do not eat here.

Ist time here. We tried the shrimp 🍤 poboy. That thing was delicious 😋! Shrimp was cooked to perfection 👌. We also enjoyed the $1.00 draft beer 🍺. Now that's a great special. The ambiance is great with great music playing in the background 👌. Our server was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the visit here and will definitely be back. I really want to like this place, I really do but they have the worst service! We went in (2 of us), and we waited 30 minutes! Another table that got there 15 minutes after us were served first... I had to go to the bar where I waited about 5 minutes to flag down a waitress and told her we just wanted a drink and that we'd been waiting for half an hour, her response? "We are very busy". There were a couple of empty tables. When we finally got our drinks, I again had to go pay at the bar for just those 2 drinks as no one ever went back to offer a menu much less the tab. The ambiance is great when they have live music and when I've gone with a few of my female friends it hasn't been as bad though it usually is slow service. The food has been meh those times. My husband and I just went in for the Star Wars cups... yeah I don't think we are ever coming back.

Slightly slow staff, easily offset with great food, wide beer selection and generous prices. A restaurant fitted perfectly into a bar. Cajun cooking is close to what you can get from LA without being there l. Good spices and sauces complimented to thee entree of your choice.

I arrived with my wife, looked for a table, waited for 30 minutes for service after signaling multiple times to the staff. Nobody came. I had to stand up and look for help. After a long while someone came over and gave us the menu and some drinks. After that, no one ever came back to pick up our dinner order. We waited till we finished our drinks, had to stand up again to ask for the tab, paid, and just left. Terrible customer service. Never coming back.

I've been coming to Eddy's Tavern for years, and one server who consistently stands out is Jennifer. She truly cares about her customers and always delivers exceptional service with a great attitude. I actually request her every time I come in because she makes the experience that much better. While others sometimes seem a bit off, Jennifer is always welcoming, professional, and upbeat. She deserves recognition!

Sasha is an incredible server! Not to mention her attentiveness, and she always goes far and beyond to make sure that me and my guests are always comfortable and knows when to bring the next round of drinks at the perfect time throughout the whole service! #MustStop Alert: Got invited by a couple of coworkers to go to Taco Tuesday. Wasn't expecting much, but I had a lot of fun. The taco's were great, wings were great, drinks were great. Roxy with the purple/blue hair was our waitress. Her service was great, every time we were looking to order something else she was right there. The smell is horrible. Very unfortunate since the food is good and so are the drinks. We couldn’t stand the stank, it smelled like puke. Funny thing is, it’s been like that (smell) since the last time I came (6 months ago).

I love this place! My oldest daughter was born in Louisiana, and I had always heard of the “beignets” however I had never tried them myself. I finally got to try them while visiting this place, and I must say I highly recommend them! The powder on top reminds me of the stock show “funnel cake” powder, however, beignets are much more softer and fluffier in texture (the breading is somewhat like a donut), but better 😉

Food was good !! This place was a little more hyped up on social media.. and over priced... waiter only spoke Spanish menu is only in Spanish as well when asking the waiter he couldn't it explain to us. The actual inside of building was clean and beautiful. Mixed drinks Were good

I attended a pharmaceutical dinner presentation here — it was my first time visiting the restaurant. The ambiance was pleasant, and the space overall had a nice atmosphere. However, I’m giving the atmosphere rating 3 stars mainly because of the uncomfortable drop in room temperature; at one point, it became noticeably hot, which detracted from the evening. Service was another area where things fell short. It seemed disorganized, especially considering this was a planned event. My appetizer was significantly delayed — while the rest of my group had nearly finished theirs, I still hadn’t been served. There was no explanation or apology from the server, which added to the frustration. By the time my appetizer arrived, the main course was already being served to others. I also requested a lemonade, which took quite a while to arrive. Unfortunately, what I received initially wasn’t what I ordered — it looked like lemonade but tasted bitter and unpleasant. Again, correcting the drink took longer than it should have. Three of us at the table ordered the New York steak. I was immediately concerned when no one asked how we wanted our steaks cooked — a basic detail in steak service. When the steaks arrived, we were shocked: they were cold. That alone was disappointing, but it also raised questions about how they’re prepared and held before serving. They attempted to redeem the situation by bringing the steak out again on a hot plate (photo attached), but the meat was tough and didn’t resemble a typical NY cut. It was served medium-well, while I personally prefer my steak medium. Overall, I believe Doble M has potential but failed to deliver on the fundamentals during this visit — especially for a hosted professional event. The ambiance was promising, but the food quality and service execution left a lot to be desired.

Tried out Doble M and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing—full of flavor and super fresh. You can tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. It's ok, food is over priced. Neat idea. Security guard needs a new job. He "had" to check girls clutch purses before entering ok but also on the way out?? How does that make sense? We asked what if we refuse "i have to call the police" we are still in America and have rights. Not happy with the yard. Maybe he thought it was a prison yard.

Awesome spot! Thursday nights at 9pm they have a live band. 6 food trucks to choose from and a good size bar to accommodate.

I recently visited Howling Rabbits Beerworks with some friends, and we had such a great experience. The food was delicious, and we especially enjoyed trying the Guava Beer—it was refreshing and full of flavor. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. They also have great music playing and even show the games, which creates a lively and fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for good food, drinks, and a great time with friends!

This place is awesome! Asia waited on us with a smile and great , prompt and courteous service. The huge outdoor patio with many tvs will be our game watching for NFL season. Good prices sealed the deal.

We had their giant loaded soft pretzel and it was excellent. It had very good flavor and the add-ons with the cheese cubes, pickles and pepperoni slices were a great addition. I also had the chicken parm sando w/fries and it was very good, as well. I would definitely order both items again. They have some very good beer selections, too. The service was great. My only complaint is that it is very loud inside with the TV’s blaring. Once the weather is cooler, it will be nice to sit outside to eat and drink.

However, someone needs to give the servers a break and organize them. There’s no seating assignment(even tho the place is packed most of the time) so everyone has to vulture their way into a table, the lack of order is bad. It looks like servers are not assigned a specific section/number of tables so no one knows who’s serving which table, we had 5 servers come to us and ask if we had been served one right after the other one; they are just walking all over the place which I can only assume can get them frustrated/overwhelmed. We’ve always had duplicate orders(either food or drink) come to our table because of this. Still, I do recommend this place because of the quality of their food and drink, but I do wish their service staff had someone to give them the opportunity to work in a more organized manner.

Update 9/11/24 - A shout out to the person who mans Messenger! I reached out earlier in the day to ask if they had non-alcoholic beer. I received an answer within a few minutes. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great time trying different items on the menu. Baja tacos, chicken Cajun pasta. Service was also great. Only comment I have is I wish I could see my bill before paying for it. 4/2024 - Great to get a pizza and beer. There is indoors and outdoor seating. The pizza was fantastic, different combinations. The beer, if you like IPA, flights or single serving were great.

Honestly, this place was a huge disappointment. The moment you walk in, the smell hits you... it’s so bad you start wondering if anyone here has heard of taking a shower. It’s like a mix of sweat, spilled drinks, and something I can’t even describe. Then, trying to get a drink? Good luck. You can stand at the bar for 10, 20, even 30 minutes... sometimes close to an hour... and the bartenders won’t even look your way. It’s like you’re invisible unless you already know someone behind the counter. Between the awful smell and the total lack of service, it’s just not worth the time or money. Definitely not the “fun night out” spot it tries to be.

Came in for the Michael Seyer show. It was my first time here. The place has no parking available that I know of, so if it gets full, you gotta do what you gotta do, which sucks. Inside is for dining it seems. Very crowded and small. The actual concert was at the outside portion. The setting is ok. Not enough seating. A lot of people smoking pot and cigarettes, so beware of that. There is a bar to order food and drinks. The restrooms are catastrophic. Only a single restroom for each sex (one for men, one for women), and they are in really bad shape. Couldn't flush the urinal, the lights were bad inside. There was no door knob. I didn't like the actual, physical place, and there doesn't seem to be an effort to at least accommodate the people that go by investing in more seats or renovating the restroom. It comes off as a home party where one just throws a couple of folding chairs and calls it a day. This place is lively, so that is why this is a good place to hang out, because it's popular. The food/drinks/ambience/facilities are poor. The music and people are good. Despite all this, I would come back, but would prefer something else. The place just feels like a house party, people walking in and out the inner restaurant into the outside portion, which is kinda cool, but says more about the negligence of the place than it being a feature.

Went here and got the burrito, chicken and waffle, truffle fries, and the mimosa set up. TRUFFLE FRIES ARE A MUST! They were crunchy, not oily, and had the perfect amount of parmesan. The thing that made the burrito stand out was the fries inside. As for the chicken and waffle, the chicken was extra crispy and waffle was a plain waffle. This all gave me the brunch that I was looking for. The only downside was that we couldn’t eat inside due to the strong smell of cigar.

This is the perfect spot! I never ate here before but despite the food! The food is amazing! And the beer they have its angreat variety of selection of great food! Amazing music too! And not only that super cozy! Amazing services! My favorite place to chill and have a great time

Tues 2/21/23 7pm- We normally don't visit downtown McAllen but decided to give this location a try. It's small inside but there is plenty of outdoor space outside. The location does give a bar type vibe; the inside is very charming. They had an event around 9-10 but unfortunately we couldn't stay. There is a small stage in the front and a bigger stage out back. It's a nice hangout spot.

This place has a great vibe. Funky. Dive-ish. A little bit of everything, from the decor to the food. Menu offerings are limited but interesting and tasty. Large selection of beers. There is live music at times and also a midsize outdoor venue with a stage. Indoor and outdoor seating, including graffiti covered picnic tables. The recorded music was too loud to carry on a conversation unless you sat around the corner. The food portions are small. Order food and drinks at the bar.

I came in with my brother for a drink and to ask for information. I asked a lady if she knew anything about events going on around the area and she rudely tells me “Im not here right now so don’t ask me.” I can honestly say i came in respectful so for her to speak to me like i was an issues just felt very upsetting. I truly don’t recommend this bar, there’s better options, the people aren’t open.

We had never been at this place. In fact, I did not even know it existed. We decided to come celebrate our friend's retirement party after it was recommended to us by one of our clients. And boy, did we love it! The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, the drinks are ok, the service was a little slow but that place was rocking so we didn't mind the wait. Everyone in our party of 25pp absolutely had a great time!! We loved it so much we went again the following week for drinks. I especially want everyone to try out their wings & the fried mushrooms. They are the bomb!

The Dive has everything a cheers bar can have. The music is on point at times. But if you're not feeling it. Give a moment it will change. The food is pretty good. Always willing to please and help in any way. Party planning is a breeze with enough notice. Just like any bar, staffing has its moments. But most of the time, it's right on point. It's always a great time. The busiest days are Friday and Saturday. But there have been a few times like storm, they had a crowd. 🤣

Went with coworkers to celebrate with some karaoke. Ordered this Irish drink. We’d been there waiting to go up for 3 HOURS! & the older lady in charge of karaoke just kept singing solos back to back. She then proceeded to say on the mic if anyone on the singing list wants to go next she would need $100… ridiculous! We paid $15 in “tip” as they called it & still never got to go because “you need to tip at least $20” I wanna know if this is right??? It was uneventful. Lady hogging the mic was insufferable, my coworkers and I were so upset since we usually do karaoke night every other Sunday, not a great experience. I recommend going to The Flying Walrus! their karaoke is good, fun, fast and not hogged with DJ Venom.

We came for a work trip in McAllen and tried this fantastic place! The atmosphere was like non other, the service was IMPECCABLE! We came to have brunch and I was so impressed with how clean the place was. We were greeted and attended by Gambini and he gave great customer service. We ordered our food and we were so impressed with food as well that I was compelled to give a tip to the person that cooked our meal. Her name was Mari and she surely made her food delicious. There was not a lot of people here for brunch which I’m surprised because food was on point as the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. Walked in - apparently walked through the back door without knowing. It’s dark. Damp. Most everyone there is in their late 40s to 50s so it’s not the most welcoming crowd when you come in. The band that was there was nothing but loud. There was a $3 cover per person. The bar itself is smaller than expected from looking outside and there are a lot better options in the area. I asked for a menu and they waitress just pointed to the bar saying it’s whatever they have. No house cocktails or specialties. Parking isn’t paved and you’re walking through dirt just to get to the door. Characters outside sitting in their car while others surround the door smoking. Won’t be returning.

I asked the bartender to make me a specialty drink, gave the recipe, and she made it to a T. The service here has always been great! Envy Martini: 1 shot of frangelico, 1 shot of peach schnapps, 1 shot of Melon liquor, 1 shot of vodka, shake then add a splash of lime. They don't disappoint.

No where at any location does it have a dress code hanging up anywhere to notify you of such policy. Be professional, answers inquiries, good or bad about your business.

Great food, especially when it's Taco Tuesday, which is undoubtedly one of its more crowded days. Staff is polite and professional. Drinks are affordable. One complaint is the loud music: it's difficult to generate a conversation with others when the music is blasting at full volume. They do have a small dance floor but, hardly anyone dances so I find it redundant for the music to be excessively loud. People go to this bar for the great food, affordable drinks and rather tame atmosphere.

If i could give this place 10 stars i would. Not only was the brunch and mimosas amazing the service was great as well. Our server Merdith made sure we were greatly satisfied during our stay. Will for sure come back for a second visit!!!!

I really enjoy the new addition to the building. There is so much space now! Games galore. It's actually pretty fun. I recommend small groups maybe 5-10. The staff is kind. No smoking spaces inside or outside, so great for non smokers!

Easily one of the worst bars I’ve ever wasted money on. The drinks tasted like dirty sink water with a splash of cheap liquor—completely undrinkable and way overpriced. The service was a nightmare; our waitress acted like we were bothering her just by existing, let alone ordering. To make things even weirder, the so-called “waitresses” looked more like men in bad disguises than actual bartenders. The vibe was awkward, trashy, and downright depressing. This place is a total scam. Do yourself a favor and steer clear—The Bearded Lady is the kind of spot that makes you regret ever leaving the house.

This place has great potential...but it can be hit and miss depending on what you order. Novel idea...each item is only $3. Sounds fairly inexpensive but order yourself just 4 small tacos and you're already at $12...so it feels affordable but the bill racks up quickly. So it's concept...finger-sized food portions where you can select yourself a little buffet of options. Personally, I love it. But it was hit and miss on what we ordered. My wife ordered skewers, a taco, and the shrimp soup. The skewers and taco were quite tasty...BUT the soup, where was the shrimp? There was nothing in the soup...no vegetables, no shrimp, no nothing but the stock so it felt extremely watered down. I had a small burrito, mini sub, and BBQ mini burger. The burrito and mini sub were good...the meat was soft and cooked well. BUT if felt very minimalistic...just the bread and protein. No special sauces on the food....except for the BBQ mini-burger. It came with coleslaw doused in BBQ sauce... delicious. I am not one to eat coleslaw but it paired perfectly with the BBQ sauce...the one item that shined. And you have to be careful with ordering drinks..I ordered a michelada. I was expecting the standard deep dark red drink that we see everywhere...what I received was an extremely sour, lime-based drink. I drank it...and asked the waitress why it was lime-based. She said that is their michelada...what I had wanted was a clamato. Well....I GUESS that's my fault for not knowing the difference. So I switched over to a clamato...and it was decent. I won't knock them for the flavor...but I personally would prefer a michelada without trechas lining the rim. I don't know why people love it... The environment is nice...we loved the music. This is definitely not a place to take your kids...no booths. They have a nice out side patio as well. Everything considered...it's a great place to take your wife on a date on a Saturday night...just make sure you know what you're ordering.

Had a good experience. Got the chicken quesadillas, aguachile tostadas, burger, fries and a cpl beers. Only downside was the plantain took a while. Idk why ppl are complaining about the pricepoint. Pricepoint and portions are definetly worth it, if they complain maybe they should go to a fast food place and get something off the dollar menu lol. Great place for a few beers and apps to watch any game.

Today I tried Cerveceria Chapultepec - McAllen with their "everything one price menu". The drinks good, the food service was too slow for me, a small burger and quesadilla that hardly had any meat in it took almost an hour to come out, plates/food portions were super small. Everything here is only $3, (so they say). It's like happy hour all day long. if you get a "michelada* they normally come with Modelo beer, if you order it with any other beer it will be charged as double, ex: $6 for drink pictured. They also had a sign that stated parties of 6 or more will be charged a 18% gratuity, we were charged that, and we were only a party of 3 😏

Like the place, very good staff we had a waiter which was great took the time to explain everything and even he gave us great recommendations, I will definitely come back again, everything thing is 3dlls so it's a great option to have a beer and a taco, the only thing I didn't like it's I order the skewers and I know it's 3 dlls everything but really the skewers were ridiculously small they had 2 mini shrimps they should take care of this things cause the skewers looked more like a toothpick with something in the middle, but everything else was great

Food is good. Service is good. Great if just getting together for drinks and some appetizers.

Place is alright. $3 dollar everything sounds good until you get the check but hey it’s 2021. Also don’t come watch sports here they don’t play the sound. Currently watching the MEX be USA game and listening to bad bunny at the same time. Lol

This place is awesome. Love the variety of drinks and only $3 each!! All the food is great. Perfect spot for a pregame or after your escapades in downtown. 10/10 recomend.
