Bar & grill
The Buffalo Bar & Grill is a lively country-themed bar and grill known for serving up delicious pub grub, including steaks, burgers, and hot wings. It's considered the go-to spot for the best wings, burgers, and happy hour in town. The menu features classic bar food like combo appetizer baskets, chicken tenders, salads, and sandwiches. The atmosphere is adorned with Western artifacts and John Wayne quotes.
This is a great place to bring the family, date or friends. I really enjoyed my green Chile burger with sweet potatoes fries and my friend really enjoyed her hot pastrami club. The B52 coffees were awesome!! So delicious. The customer service was great! The hometown atmosphere and decor is very inviting also. We would definitely go back.

Looking for some Steak.. wife and I decided on this based on review. Did not disappoint. Fast service, great atmosphere, food and people. Did not get photos of our food but I had the 12oz sirloin, sizes were Salad and Tortilla Soup and she had the Southwest Chicken sandwich, sides were baked potato and Salad. Appetizer was the Fried Mushrooms. Drinks were water with lemon and being the "party animals" we are per our waitress.. we decided to have a cocktail.. for me Sex on the beach and her couple Moscow Mules. Here are some interior photos to share..

This was our 2nd visit and, AGAIN, we had a delicious meal and fast and courteous service. This is our new go-to when driving into Payson. An added bonus is the adjoining parking lot will accommodate a 36 foot motor home with a tow car, and it's easy to get in and out.
Regina G — Google review
Food was incredible. I got the Cowboy Club sandwich and sweet potato fries ($1 up charge) and daughter got the tuna melt. Service was a 1 ⭐️ as waitress finally came to our table about 40 minutes after we ordered to admit she forgot to put the order in. We still waited another 15 minutes for it. Would have been okay with it had they discounted it some. Nope. Just an apology and an hour wait for dinner.
Brian M — Google review
Solid choice in Payson. Won’t regret choosing. The atmosphere you’d expect and good burger bar food. Got the Beef Brisket Burger, The Duke, Fries, Cowboy Beans, and Buffalo Wings. All good. Brisket burger was very tasty and juicy (though cooked under to the request). Would come back.
Todd S — Google review
I mostly liked it. The sampler plate was a great mix of the appetizers. Well worth it. The chicken wings were good-sized cuts, and the spicy sauce was good. But the Buffalo burger was horribly undercooked. It tasted too much like raw meat. I ended up microwaving it a bit. The burger was great, just too undercooked for my taste. It was way too pricey for an everyday meal.
Sam H — Google review
One of the best BLT sandwiches ever! Green chile cheeseburger excellent. Great service on a Wednesday night. Thank you! Will definitely be back! Sorry, no photos, we were too hungry and dove right in 😊
R L — Google review
If you're ever in Payson must stop at Buffalo Bar and Grill. This was our first trip and will definitely go back. Rueben and pastrami sandwich were amazing. Piled high with "shaved" meat. We have traveled across this country 5 times and have tried ruebens all over. This one is the best. Actually had kraut so you could taste it. Side of dressing was different but good. Sweet potato fries yum yum. Had to take 1/2 sandwich home on both. Excellent

Restaurant
Backwoods Bar & Grill is a beloved local sports bar and restaurant that offers a variety of classic American dishes with a unique twist. The establishment boasts an inviting atmosphere and serves up delicious food, including pizza, wings, burgers, and their signature Backwoods Philly cheesesteak sandwich. With 15 beers on tap and well-made drink specials, it's a popular spot for locals to unwind.
Food was great! Busy but staff was attentive. I would recommend stopping by.
Curtis R — Google review
Been here several times. Seems better in the evening. Burger is okay. The tots appetizer was unique the first time; the second time we ordered it with chorizo, but it was overcooked hamburger meat. Edible but not chorizo. The pizza wasn't bad. Coffee was not refilled without an additional fee. Bathroom was out of tissue. Update: came back again and food was good, but it was in the evening. The potato skins were good. Service was great. Still, I remember they charged for a coffee refill last time, and that's pretty ridiculous. Service would be a five if not for that. The burger alone is not filling, but tastes okay. Feels kind of like getting shorted on steak fries, and becomes necessary to order something else if you want a full meal.
John I — Google review
Food was over cooked and real greasy , left soggy buns. I had low blood sugar so I needed to eat something , if I hadn't needed to eat my meal would have gone back. I over heard another customer raise his concern over the wax paper lining the plate, it's the little things that may keep people from coming back . Friendly staff but our server was not very attentive. She never asked how our meal was and ignored the rest of the table !
Travis R — Google review
Good little sports bar. Their beer line was bad, so no draft. They did not know how to pour a Guinness. Our nachos were bottom of the bag chips. I had to use a fork because they were little shards of chips. They weren't upholding standards the night we went. Rough. Update: Went there for fight night and had a great meal. The server we had was incredible. Patio was great for my dog.
Samantha W — Google review
Backwoods Bar & Grill feels like a true Rim Country hangout, the kind of place where the music is turned up, the laughter is loud, and the plates are as full as the beer glasses. It has a rugged charm that matches its name, with a casual atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Locals mix with travelers, and everyone seems to find common ground over good food and a cold drink. The menu leans into comfort food with confidence. Burgers come stacked high, the wings arrive hot and messy in the best way, and the steaks have that satisfying grill flavor you hope for in a place like this. Portions are generous, and it’s easy to see why people come hungry and leave happy. The drinks are poured strong, with plenty of options on tap and a bar that feels like the hub of the room. What makes Backwoods memorable is the energy. Some nights you’ll find live music or karaoke, other nights it’s just the steady hum of a bar where people are having a good time. It’s lively, it’s a little rowdy, and it’s exactly what it promises to be. Grateful Traveler’s Note
Chris K — Google review
The food is great! I have had something different every time I go. The staff are very nice and work hard to make sure you are taken care of. The food could come out faster. However, it is worth waiting for. The tater tots are done just right. Crunchy, not mushy. The Monster or Dirty Verde are my favorites so far.
Scott W — Google review
You can tell that place gets going on a Friday night. I was there Tuesday afternoon, so it was pretty quiet. Ordered the Dirty Verde burger with green chili. The beef was mixed with chorizo, which gave it an awesome flavor and a little kick. Definitely want to go back.
P.J. K — Google review
This was my 2nd time at backwoods. We came back because we loved the food and the drink specials were good (and well made). The server was friendly and attentive. It’s nothing fancy but you can tell it is a locals favorite place to go. Old, young, motorcycle lovers, to housewife’s … all crowds welcome which made for a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a quick drink and great bite to eat I recommend❤️

Crosswinds Restaurant is a charming diner that offers classic American dishes in a unique setting adorned with airplane decor. Situated at the Payson Airport, diners can enjoy views of the runway while savoring their meals. The restaurant features a full bar with an extensive selection of beers, wines, and spirits, making it an ideal spot for gathering with family or friends before departing or upon arriving in Payson.
This is a fantastic traditional American diner. They built it right at the center of the Payson municipal airport, so you see planes landing, and taking off as you’re enjoying your meal. The servers are really nice. The place was very clean. The French toast was OK, but the pancakes were really good. The gravy and crispy hashbrowns were perfect! The Spanish omelette was delicious, with the salsa being an excellent topping. We will definitely be back! The prices were very reasonable. At least a dozen locals told us it is the best breakfast in Payson. We agree.
Shawn H — Google review
Oh my goodness!! What a fabulous restaurant with DELICIOUS food for both breakfast and lunch!! We’re visiting Payson and have been twice already! For breakfast we had the Spanish Omelette and got hash browns (added onions) and a pancake. WOW! The omelette was fantastic and the hash browns were crispy and delicious! The pancake was huge and very tasty. Simple but wonderful. We will definitely be back to try more of the omelettes too! The menu looks great. For lunch we had a Ground Beef Dinner and a Grilled Ham & Cheese on Sourdough. They were both fantastic. And even better was the sample they gave us for Fried Fish! It’s NOT on the menu but they have an All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Fridays. So we will definitely be back for that!! The view is beautiful. The restaurant is at the Payson Airport so we watched small, passenger planes taking off the entire time we ate. The ceiling is covered with unique model planes. It’s a fantastic place for children who love planes too! There was a toddler behind us loving it! Lots of seating and friendly, fast service. Highly recommend!
Michelle B — Google review
Great staff, delicious food. Breakfast all day. Cute things to buy/ fresh made pies. We did see a small plane and helicopter take off. Other planes were on the ground. Price more like $8-$13 per person.
Monique R — Google review
Good mom and pop feel. Food was hot and service was fast. Friendly staff. Kids enjoyed seeing the planes last and take off
Preston S — Google review
Great food, prices, and service! Nice a la carte menu selections if you follow a carnivore or keto type way of eating like I do! Bonus - got to see 1 plane (restaurant overlooks runway).
Mike H — Google review
This is a great spot for those who know. Prices are great and food portion is huge. The service is very welcoming and attentive. You can eat and watch planes come in from all over the area. Don't skip out on their homemade pies!
Lee B — Google review

Rim Country BBQ and Wood-Fired Pizza is a top dining spot in Payson, AZ, known for its passion for delicious barbeque and wood-fired pizzas. The menu features handcrafted items by an award-winning pitmaster, ensuring every bite is packed with flavor. Customers rave about the generous portions of pork belly and sides like cowboy beans, corn, fried green beans, and macaroni and potato salad. The restaurant's excellent service adds to the overall dining experience.
I love this place for the outside area especially. Big umbrellas and these little fans that keep flies away. The music was country and fitting for the atmosphere. They have a full bar and a kind owner who personally delivered my son's pizza to him. The waitress was gorgeous and sweet. I got the pit bbq salad that had delicious smoked meat and yellow tomatoes and fresh green blend bed of lettuce under. Thank you for the hospitality and the wonderful laid back time I got to have with my son.
Amber — Google review
Came here with my family specifically for BBQ. The ribs were fantastic and the star of the show. Pulled pork and turkey also very good. Brisket was on the dry side for what we like but it wasn't bad. BBQ sauces were plentiful and tasty. Kids really liked the loaded mac & cheese. They have garlic bread and I personally would prefer corn bread but I get it... they're not a BBQ only restaurant. A little on the expensive side for a meal but we expect that for good BBQ. Service was very friendly and the food came out very fast. Took a while to get our bill but that's OK since they were busy. Overall, this was a very enjoyable meal and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return here next time we're in town!
Dan A — Google review
We stopped at Rim Country BBQ and Wood-Fired Pizza for lunch and were seriously impressed! The food was everything you hope for in a small-town BBQ spot — hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and juicy on a perfectly toasted bun, and the ribs had a great smoky flavor with a tasty sauce on the side. Across the table, the brisket sandwich was loaded with smoky, melt-in-your-mouth brisket, and the potato salad was creamy with a nice hit of paprika on top. The only thing I wasn’t as fond of was the mac and cheese — the texture was fine, but the flavor was a little off for me, maybe a bit too buttery. We ate outside on the patio with our dog, and it was such a great experience. Super relaxed, friendly staff, and they even had dog bowls for water, which was a really nice touch. Everything else tasted fresh and homemade, and the patio was the perfect spot to enjoy the Payson sunshine. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
Rob D — Google review
This must be what heaven tastes like… We’re from Houston TX and this place has the best brisket! Everything we ordered was exceptional. I really like the ambiance as well. Cozy and inviting. Our waitress, Elise, was so sweet and funny. Keep up the great work everyone! P.S. Get the peach cobbler!
Sally G — Google review
What a great hidden gem!! I'm sure the locals know about this place, but us valley of the sun dwellers may not realize it's there. Tucked away off the main road, this wonderful restaurant is uniquely cozy. The service was impeccably kind and courteous and the food was equally tasty!
Joshua D — Google review
It was okay. I ordered a lemonade, chopped brisket 'sandwich,' and Mac and cheese as a side. There really wasn't anything to it that I couldn't have made at home. Mom enjoyed her meal, she and dad had the plates. They got a lot more food for just $3 or so more, and next time I would do the same. Their plates consisted of chopped brisket and 2 sides, mom got Mac and cheese and sweet corn, and dad got ranch style beans and coleslaw. Mom sort of liked the Mac and cheese and flipped over the sweet corn. Dad enjoyed the beans but tried to get anyone to take the coleslaw. There was NO dressing on the coleslaw...ewe. So it was kinda hit and miss on the food. The atmosphere was okay, but we were literally their only customers until just before we left; it was kind od odd feeling. The staff were very kind and Laura brought extra napkins when asked!
Danielle D — Google review
Went there twice while in town visiting. First time I had the stuffed baked potato with brisket. I chose the citrus cranberry relish and it was delicious! Really enjoyed it. Was told that Tuesdays are Taco Tuesdays, so I came back for that. Had the brisket tacos for $9.00. Felt they were a bit small, but they were good. Ordered dessert cobbler to go and was shocked at how small it was for $8.25! Ridiculous! Also, the bartender Kim was awesome, but poor thing was running around like crazy! She was as nice as can be, but apparently had to serve the bar, the tables in the bar area and the outside tables. And it was busy! Crazy amount of people she was responsible for. Not at all fair to her or the bar customers. As I said, she was great but the owners should be ashamed at what they expect from her. I just hope everyone tipped well, because she deserved it. Now, I had hoped to come back for Italian night, but based on serving size, especially of dessert, I will pass. Someone else can have my money.
Sheila H — Google review
Some buddies and I decided to take a day trip on our Harleys to Payson, and came across this amazing BBQ/ pizzeria restaurant! Our waitress was amazing, friendly and a joy to meet 🙌 pizza was outstanding, wings great but deep fried was hoping they were smoked! Mac n cheese flawlessly tasteful was also hoping smoked but not, I'd love to meet with the pit master please 🙏 I'll definitely be back in as I'm a bqq carnosaur. If you're ever in the area it's a must stop, enjoy and experience...

Banquet hall
Breakfast restaurant
Tiny's Family Restaurant and Lounge in Payson is a classic American diner that offers a variety of traditional favorites at affordable prices. The restaurant is known for its excellent cooking and welcoming atmosphere, making it a local favorite for those craving authentic American cuisine. While the food may not be extraordinary, it delivers classic diner fare with efficient service, especially during busy times like after church gatherings. The banquet hall features patriotic themes, including a 'missing man' table, adding to the restaurant's charm.
Was a little nervous walking in as there weren’t many people eating at this restaurant but it was early on a Monday morning. However, we were greeted immediately and sat at a table right away. The waitress was great. Could tell she had been doing this for many years. She did offer us a special that was not on the menu and both my mom and I ordered that. 2 things stood out to me which are big props to this place. 1. Food came out on warm plates. No one does this. Kept the pancakes and eggs warm. 2. The syrup was warmed. No one does this either!! These 2 things alone blew me away and was worth the 5 star rating. We were in and out in less than 40 minutes. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

My wife's new favorite place. I've gotten take out from here before, club sandwich, which was pretty good. We ate in a few months ago and I'm surprised I didn't review it then. We came back recently and we're blown away by the food. The atmosphere is nice. Clean with kitchen/cooking type meme posters around. We both ordered chicken fried steak dinner. Full on four course meal. Soup. Salad. Dinner plate with potato and vegetables. And a dessert in the price. Can't pass it up and the price incredibly reasonable. I also ordered the butterflied shrimp. The meal was amazing and not too bad on the wallet. Tasted so good wife wanted to go back the next night but we were already on the way out if town. But we will definitely go back.

Home cooking at its finest! Large portions include salad, soup, entree, choice of potatoes, AND dessert! For under $15, I had homemade split pea with ham soup, garden salad with choice of ALL homemade dressings, a large hefty portion of steamed lemon pepper cod served with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and fresh corn. Dessert included choice of again all homemade: warm bread pudding, rice pudding or gelatin. My spouse had a "petite" sirloin that looked about half a pound perfectly grilled to his order. Nearly everything on the menu is homemade including a showcase of fresh pies and rolls the size of a platter! Cathy, our kind and courteous server, remembered us from our first visit last fall and treated us like family. We highly recommend this place for good old-fashioned home cooking (including liver and onions), warm and friendly atmosphere, and portions guaranteed to satisfy.

The Food: Tiny’s is comfort food central and the heartbeat of Payson dining. Everything about it just works. The flavors, the cozy atmosphere, and that unmistakable hometown feel. We try to order something new each time we visit (really, we do), but it’s hard to stray from our go-tos: the Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids, the country fried steak, eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and those incredible chicken sandwiches. And the coffee? Let’s just say it might secretly be Folgers, but whatever it is, it’s magical. Smooth, silky, and so good you don’t even need cream or sugar. You could drink a whole pot and still want another cup. The Experience: The service here perfectly matches the Payson pace. Unhurried, friendly, and authentic. If you’re coming from the city expecting lightning-fast service and a high-energy vibe, take a breath. These are hard-working locals who take pride in what they do, and they’ll take great care of you. Just be patient and enjoy the experience. We come here every single time we’re in Payson so it’s become a family tradition. The atmosphere is nostalgic and genuine, the food always hits the spot, and Rachel (our favorite server) is an absolute gem. She’s attentive, kind, and makes everyone feel like they’re part of the Tiny’s family. Pro Tip: Don’t leave without grabbing a slice of pie, or two, to go. It’s non-negotiable. Final Word: Tiny’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a Payson ritual. The food comforts, the coffee revives, and the people remind you what good hospitality feels like. We’ll keep coming back as long as they’ll have us. #PaysonEats #SmallTownCharm #TinysFamilyKitchen #DinerVibes #ComfortFoodGoals #WorthTheDrive #PieToGo #LocalFavorite

I’ve always liked stopping at Tiny’s during our rides, they have great prices and a welcoming atmosphere, which makes it a perfect breakfast spot. However, during my last visit, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs, and it wasn’t prepared the way it normally is, the coating tasted more like pancake batter than the usual crispy breading. I really hope the food quality improves because I enjoy coming here and would love to keep making Tiny’s a regular stop.

Chili's Grill & Bar is a family-friendly restaurant chain that offers a mix of Tex-Mex and American cuisine in a Southwestern-themed atmosphere. The establishment prioritizes customer satisfaction and values its staff, ensuring their well-being to deliver genuine hospitality. Known for its consistent and satisfying menu offerings, the restaurant has improved its service quality over time. Visitors praise the delightful dining experience, with special mentions for the dedicated staff who go above and beyond to assist patrons, creating memorable moments.
Firstly, enter with reasonable expections for this kind of establishment and judge accordingly. Chris was a fantastic server! Fun and informative. I ordered a burger that was cooked with a splendid outer layer of slight crispness, resulting from a special oil-butter mix, yet maintaining a juicy and flavorful burger of desirable consistency and thickness. The burger was tender and not too thick, making it easier to handle and improving with each bite. I felt totally sated after the meal. The coffee was made fresh, and was good. The chips were slightly too salty and the baked potato soup was unnecessarily cheesy, although still tasty, but the burger and fries made up for any deficiencies. Nice atmosphere for a casual chat with friends. Recommended. My dining companion noted the chips are refillable, and also commented that the amount of food was fair for the price, unlike some other places, and we were both thankful for that.

Ordered the fajita trio - it looked nothing like the pic from the menu as you can see. The chicken and fries were drowned in salt and pepper. The ribeye was very bland. The server was great but honestly the food was terrible. We will not be returning to this location.

I walked in around 5:45pm on a Tuesday, to pick up a to-go order. The lady running the to go station was very kind. We ordered molten cakes and they were literally cold. Not even heated up. They combined my son's chicken pasta with French fries in his box. The fries were cold and soggy. Mind you, I placed the order at 5:30pm and got handed my food at 5:55pm and went straight home. They crammed my husband's salad into a salsa cup. Not satisfied with the to go food at all. There is always room for improvement.

Always a great time at Chili’s. Drinks are served quick. The chips and salsa are good. And we love the triple dipper with big mouth bites and Nashville hot mozzarella sticks!

Came in here around 7pm, waited a while for a hostess to seat me. I told them we had a service dog and saw the hostess speaking with the manager and other staff as they looked at us oddly. Then sat at the table for a while before the server put our drink order in, walked past us another 10 minutes and I just paid out my tab for my soda and left. Service sucks… they make you feel uncomfortable. I recommend spending your time somewhere that actually cares about customers.

Haven't been to Chili's in years, so I gave it a try. I was disappointed. By the Bucket, a pasta joint that offers both positives and negatives. While it can never quite match up to the real deal, it serves as a decent alternative. The pasta and sauce are enjoyable, although the meatballs possess a peculiar aftertaste. However, one redeeming quality of this establishment is its remarkably friendly staff, which earns them five stars. Unfortunately for some, there is no chicken option available; they would have preferred it over the meatballs.
My wife and I absolutely LOVE this place! We got the meatball Monday special (5 for 4 - $8) and some marinara to go with our two Chicken Parmesan sandwiches and two Caesar Salads. EVERYTHING was outstanding! The marinara is perfect and did not give me indigestion like some marinara sauces can. The meatballs are very good and addictive. The salads were very fresh and had a really nice balance of ingredients and you get a nice portion. The chicken parmesan sandwiches were so very good! I was only going to eat half of mine and save the other half for later but I couldn't stop. I could easily eat myself to death at this place! The owner is VERY friendly which rounded out this first visit as a great find and a huge success for dinner.

We stopped in when we were passing through Payson and had a late lunch. The meatball (stretch)sandwich was fantastic, so flavorful and fresh. It was perfect for my husband and I to split.
Erin C — Google review
Such a unique concept! Whenever we travel to Payson, we always stop in for a meatball sub. That and Old County Inn are the two requests my husband makes whenever we travel from Texas. The meatballs are so flavorful! I also love the bread they use for the sandwich. It is sturdy and holds up to all the sauce and cheese. Yet it is still delicious! They have a small menu, but that's because what they do, they do well! Not a bunch of mediocre dishes. The owner, Brett, is so friendly as well. I had the opportunity to chat with him on my visit, and he is passionate about his business.

absolutely amazing little place. stopped by here on the way up to band camp, the food was great and the manager was super kind and sociable. definitely coming back here again next year

To go pasta places are a mixed bag. It's never going to be as good as the real deal, but is usually a decent substitute. I enjoyed the pasta and sauce, but the meatballs had a funny aftertaste to me. At this location, staff is super friendly, so that's why they get five stars. If there had been a chicken option, I'd have taken that over the meatballs.
Bryan S — Google review
Unique concept - spaghetti in a bucket to go! Small mom'n'pop storefront selling a limited menu of various amounts of spaghetti with marinara sauce and garlic bread, meatballs, meatball subs, desserts, and canned drinks. The owner was friendly and walked me through ordering for a party of 5. We upgraded to a full loaf of garlic bread and added 8 meatballs. Some people might be put off by the price for the meatballs but they are generously sized and tasty. Carbs are cheap, protein isn't. Everything was packed well for transport. The place was clean and I watched the owner handle my food safely. We fed everyone for less than $30 even with the upgrades. My family loved it and we'll be back the next time we are in Payson.

if you happen through payson Arizona or if you live here and haven't tried this place yet, it's an absolute must. the food is as satisfying as the experience of buying such a nostalgic meal. the by the bucket servings are quirky and convenient. if i get the chance i will definitely return for more meatballs and delicious spaghetti. ♡

This place is an awesome local establishment. It's been around for years awesome music.

We waited for 40 minutes for it to open at 6 pm and we were told it s private party and we were turned way. Its was advertised as a saloon but not true i guess
Thomas Q — Google review
Love the Sunday music. The bar owner tried to throw my friend out but kept her purse...so there's that. Leave before closing. Otherwise, a blast!
Cina M — Google review
We went for karaoke and had a good time. I like that they have enough space, you can move around. We need to go back when there's a band and dancing. Can't comment on food. We've never eaten there.
Barbra A — Google review
with all that extremely loud and obnoxious noise you like to call music you are the worst neighbors ever. Every year during the rodeo you people take advantage of this neighborhood. From this day forward I promise to be a thorn in your side when in come to all the noise. It seems the worse the band the louder they have to play so that all the drunks don't realize how bad they really are. A good band would not have to play their music so loud that it can be heard so far away. Turn that noise down or expect to see the police more often.
George G — Google review
Liked the old west atmosphere. The band that evening was great. The only part that could have been better was if they had draft beers. Plus, a variety of beers would have been nice, too. Seemed to only carry canned domestic beer.

Cocktail bar
If you find yourself in the charming Payson area, make sure to stop by Muks Candles & Cocktails for an unforgettable experience. This speakeasy-style venue offers a cozy atmosphere filled with comfortable seating and an impressive drink menu curated by knowledgeable bartenders. Whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail like a smoked pecan old fashioned or something unique, you'll be delighted by their quick service and expert recommendations.
Where do I begin! I can’t say enough about this place. I’ve been in F&B for 20 years and this is by far the best when it comes to cocktails. I’ve had the best cocktails in London as the best bar in the world and this by far exceeds that. We couldn’t stop ordering the cocktails. They deserve recognition. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was so cozy and welcoming. PLEASE come do yourself a favor and make this part of your trip! Amazing!!!!!
Melinda F — Google review
Muk’s Speakeasy Muk’s Speakeasy is one of Payson’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away with little fanfare, it gives you the sense of stepping into a place that only those in the know will find. The lighting is low, the music sets a steady rhythm, and the whole room feels like it was designed to help you relax into the night. It has character, not by trying too hard, but by leaning into a simple truth: people like to gather where they feel welcome. The bar is the heart of the room. Cocktails are crafted with care, balanced and flavorful, with bartender who knows her way around both the classics and creative twists. For those who prefer a straight pour, the whiskey selection is solid, and the staff are quick to offer suggestions without making it feel like a lecture. The crowd here is friendly and laid back, a mix of locals and visitors who come to enjoy conversation and good drinks. It's not loud or chaotic, but it isn't stiff either. Muk’s has found that sweet spot where you can settle in, enjoy your glass, and let time slip by without worry. Grateful Traveler’s Note

This place is awesome. Came to Payson for our 2 daughter’s 21st birthday trip & found this bar online. Turned out to be the best decision by far. The ambiance, the drinks, Johnnie the bartender were all top notch. Definitely a worthy place to visit many times.

went in and had Jonathan as our bartender and WOW he did not disappoint. not only was the atmosphere of the place so cozy and welcoming but the cocktails were out of this world and the service was fantastic and friendly. definitely recommend if you’re looking for a lowkey spot with a great asthetic and wonderful bartenders.

It's a fun store to visit. Inside, they have some edible gifts like yummy pie mixes, and they had various other knick knacks for sale. At the side of their store is their hidden gem- a cocktail bar with cozy dark lighting and seats. Loved the ambience. Accessible parking spots and sidewalk in front.

Rim Country Bowl, a popular spot in Payson, offers more than just bowling. Reopened in 2019, this venue features an arcade and a pool hall, making it a great place to hang out even if you're not into bowling. The attached bar provides additional entertainment with pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and more. Visitors can enjoy delicious food and drinks while having a great time.
This is so awesome! Feels like you’re stepping into a time machine when you go into this bowling alley! Staff was so attentive and helpful, and the prices were amazing! My favorite bowling alley I’ve ever been to!
Jared C — Google review
I will start off with the staff was good but it went down hill from there . I don't know how this place gets 4 stars . It's a small bowling alley. Ok no big deal . 16 lanes 3 lanes out of service when we walked in . By the time we got to bowl 4 lanes out of order . 2 lanes had broken bumpers . The lane thst was working before we started ended up with 6 balls stuck in the gutter because the bumper was broken off half way down the lane and 5 balls stuck in the ball return area. I honestly felt bad for the 1 and only person working while we were there . She was running the desk ,concession, and handling lane malfunctions by herself. The price per game wasn't all the tvs and the bowling software were updated but the pin monitoring system was messed up . Strikes were not counted properly spares were not counted properly and even first ball pin counts were wrong on multiple . I want to say it was fun but seeing all of the system errors was more entertainment than anything and even still that's being nice . Even on our lane that "worked" we had to asknthe girl to run back because our balls got stuck about 5 times . It's really sad because it's the only bowling alley near by and if it was taken care of properly it could probably be really nice . There are banners advertising leagues. I'm not sure how that is possible with multiple lanes down . It really is a shame because there isn't a lot to do in Payson you would think that bowling would be a great little activity and this place could really make some money if it was maintained .
David B — Google review
We’d never been to Rim Country Bowl and since it’s the only bowling place in Payson, we decided to check it out. This is a small-ish, older but decently maintained bowling alley. The staff were super friendly, but they were missing a couple bowling shoe sizes. Certain things like the lanes and ceiling were showing their age (water damaged tiles), but for $10 per person for 2 hours, we were decently satisfied with this place.
Steven F — Google review
Horrible bowling experience! Machine at lane wouldn't let us put names in, staff tried, and they had to go to counter to put our names in. Then 4 out of 5 frames it was miscounting the pins. Staff Said "camera misalignment", then tried to blame it on other staff saying "she's new". (How was camera alignment the new girl's fault?) Had to Ask to switch to another lane. Both lanes dry, causing ball hook, was told oiling was expensive and only done before leagues. Then pins came down for first ball with 3 pins down and in the way. We couldn't find the reset button (never been there before), went to counter to ask. The new girl left the area/evidently also didn't know where reset button was and went to ask. When she came back she went behind counter, didn't tell us what was going on, and when I approached her and asked if the problem would be fixed, she said "I don't care about that problem right now". Went into bar area, to tell guy we thought was owner how rude girl was, and would anyone tell us where reset button was, and all he would talk about was expense of oiling lanes. Sad to say, we're in Payson area until end of Oct. and would've bowled twice a week, but due to poor equipment and rude staff we will.not be back.

I wouldn’t go to the bar side if you’re of color… I tried to order a drink and the girl with the long blond hair with highlights didn’t even want to take my order and we made eye contact numerous times and she chose to ignore me and serve everyone else then I noticed I was the only one of color in the bar and felt out of place so I left. It was obvious why she didn’t want to serve me. The bowling side is fun though highly recommended :)

It was a holiday weekend and I was excited to take my kids. There was one employee who stated there were no lanes with bumpers and there were ramp (which there where not). Asked about food and there was only one worker so that wouldnt happen. Such a let down. Not a place to bring the family.
Lauren R — Google review
Holiday weekend, only 1 employee In the whole bowling alley and we had to wait 15 minutes at the counter cause he was In the bathroom. Asked for 2 games only got 1, can't order food because he's the only one working. Bumpers for the kids arent working, Ask him for the slide to help the younger kids and he walks away to look for one and never came back. Balls always getting stuck and had to reset the pins almost every other turn. An all around horrible experience

Some of the best Italian food I've ever had, and I come from a line of Italian restaurateurs. Had the ravioli, lasagna and Bianca pizza with artichoke hearts. I can't say enough about the staff, we've had the pleasure of being waited on by Elizabeth and Nicki. We were lucky enough to eat at both locations, Sedona and Payson and both were equally superb.

The food was amazing! I don't like fish and had a bite of my husband's salmon and I loved it! Great atmosphere and the waitress was wonderful! It was a little expensive but worth it!! I will definitely be going back!

Awesome family Italian place. The Italian Mac is pictured below - super cheesy and absolutely delicious. I only wish straws didn't automatically come in the drinks (to reduce plastic waste) and that the to - go boxes weren't Styrofoam (something that could be recycled instead).

Absolutely love this place and will be going back. I think my significant other and I got the most expensive plates they were serving that evening because our tab was over $100 with one appetizer, two entrees, and 2 glasses of wine. So if you are price concise there are more affordable things to order. The food was completely worth it. No complaints.
Cecilia L — Google review
My husband and I decided to give this place a try for lunch today; and we both were extremely pleased with our meals. I had the Smoked Bacon Macaroni, and my goodness was it delicious! My husband had the Eggplant Parmesan and said it was the best he'd ever had. The lunch portions were dinner sized, in my opinion.... However, we're not complaining because we have leftovers for tomorrow. The prices were decent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. When it cools off a bit more we will enjoy ourselves out on their patio dinning area.
Rustic O — Google review
Really lovely ownership and very friendly staff. The food has never disappointed-- but you've got to be in the mood for stodgy, saucy food-- as that's what you'll get! The lobster mac and cheese is a dream. Environment is also quite nice and prices are decent. This place is usually busy, which I take as a good sign.
Danielle L — Google review
My family and I went here during a trip to Payson. When I walked in what first impressed me was how clean the dinning area and bathrooms were. The staff was courteous and helpful. The owners wife talked with us and made us feel welcome. We had mac & cheese, chicken fettuccine, meat lovers pizza and an appetizer. Great tasting food. A little to much butter but overall good. This is one place you don't want to pass up.

Owners are disrespectful to employees. Employees are great. Food is primarily reheated in microwave. Gravy is package mix, all of them including au jus, if you claim to cook fresh BBQ and don't keep drippings to make sauces, better off with Arby's

Local restaurant/bar atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Extensive sandwich and basket type food. Great tasting..smoked/roasted meats. I had seen posts on Facebook about fantastic food, bands, fun. My friends and I were looking for a restaurant that was open on Monday...as most area places are closed. We were very happy to have found this spot. We will definitely keep it on our short "go-to" list!
