The 20 best bars and drinks in Placencia

So awesome we went three times! Don’t be fooled by the fact this is a “bar.” The food is amazing. Get the smoked mackerel dip. The ceviche is also fire - get it! They’re also so good with allergies and the staff is just wonderful. Try the Bittas for the experience. A must if you’re in Placencia.

This is a fun spot! Get off the hot board walk and feel the ocean breeze here. The drinks are made strong and really creative, have the soursop banana colada. There is typically some form of entertainment at night, bands, singing, DJ, etc. They are very attentive to your needs, the drinks are cheaper than the American version and you can try chugging 5 beers from a Frisbee!

Came here tonight to watch the NBA Final game because it was only a few minutes away from our AirBNB. The internet was cutting out a lot andthe game was interrupted, but we still had a great time. Grilled cheese was good and so was the cheesecake. Well come back again on our next visit to Belize.

Love barefoot, we enjoy our lunch and dinner. The steak i can say it was the best in placencia... will definately be back!!!!!

Nice atmosphere. We were in for happy hour and thought about a bite. Ordered 2 frozen Margaritas. Big glass but we didn’t like the taste of the ready made mix. So we gave up on dinner and left. They have a big menu and daily special though.

Quiet despite having a poster saying there would be an event. But it had just rained and was 4pm on a Saturday. Servers came but didn't seem intetested- maybe due to us sharing a dish and not racking up an alcohol bill. Was surprised to discover smoking was allowed inside. Must be cultural but I can't stand the smell so that was off putting. I may be too old for these places now haha I appreciated the colorful space and good ocean view. May come back if I feel up to a bar scene. I enjoyed the pistachio cheesecake. Meal was forgettable.

What a great hangout, we had a blast at this facility and treated it like a home base. We were here many times and cant wait to be back.

2025 UPDATE: The food tastes like something that’s been sitting in the freezer for months and they just toss it in a fryer with blackened oil and sell it to you for $20. The portion is small and that’s probably a blessing in disguise. We all had stomach ache afterwards and I can honestly feel the stomach bug coming as I sampled the ceviche. The waiters didn’t want to be there. She had to ask to see my watch to confirm discount for wings— which once again, taste like something from a dystopian sci-fi kitchen where human no longer have food and had to hunt each other for nutrients. The only thing remotely nice is the beach, so credit to the owner for securing this location but everything else needs a complete redo.

Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and service! A must go if you're planning a visit to Placencia Village, Belize! The restaurant is located directly on the beach, and definitely gives the carribean beach vibes. They have karaoke nights, Belizean drummers, great music and laid-back vibes. A one-of-a-kind beach restaurant/bar to relax and enjoy your time in the beautiful country of Belize!

Difficult to describe the food… definitely not worth a stop or what they charge for it. Service is miserable, one dish (out of 3) coming before all the drinks… and they still have the nerve to come back and ask to add the tip before running the credit card… for what? I would have given a negative tip if I could! Asked the server to give me a rum drink, not sweet, the bartender can choose.. I ended up with a Long Island ice tea for $12 (US)!! Really? Loading of booze.. I couldn’t touch it. After all the amazing drink I add all over the place, this was a shame… The place is well located, and that’s it. But walk a little further and you have much better!!

Tipsy Tuna has been the perfect place to enjoy the ocean, sip fun cocktails, and get my heart broken by the Badgers. After a fun day of fishing, we showed up and Dani took our fish back to the chef who outdid himself! He cooked up delicious snapper - grilled, blackened, garlic butter, and fried.

Apart from the witty signs that greet your arrival, there was nothing redeeming about this bar/restaurant. Perhaps you are better off enjoying it if you are already "tipsy" and not of sound mind, but the service was dreadful and the food tasteless (it did not help that as a vegetarian they tried to tell me the chicken in my taco was a vegetable sealed the awful experience). But then the security guard handled a homeless man as if it was his first day on the job and the poor karaoke singer had to step in. It was like a farce. Don't waste your time here... Placencia has SO many great places.

We ordered the tacos, chicken quesadilla, shrimp ceviche, and brisket nachos (lots of brisket), all were great as were the drinks. Attentive staff and nice atmosphere! It’s $1 wings & $5 rum punch all day! Wednesday was Garifuna Culture Night with authentic Garifuna drumming, their traditional songs & dances. They also had Jankunu dancer performances along with the Wamalali Garifuna Cultural Group. The menu is in Belizean dollars…

Delicious meal and beautiful ambiance. The fried fish and braised short ribs were so yummy! The hostess was very friendly. One of, if not THE best, place we ate during our stay in Placencia.

Best spot in town for fine dining in town all being affordable. They had good dessert and the rooftop views were amazing. We had an amazing time while on our honeymoon. Vanessa, our server, was kind and amazing!

We got an excellent view of the sunset from here. The food was great We especially enjoyed the seafood pasta curry. And The Elysian cocktail was outstanding. One needs to walk up the four floors. But the views are well worth it.

A climb to top but once there it was worth it. Snapper was delicious and my spouse tried pea soup and lobster fritters. Good cocktails too. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the cappuccino. Friendly and attentive staff

Beautiful rooftop restaurant with great views. Food was delicious too. We had grilled melon salad, fish cakes, airline chicken and steak. Everything was very fresh and tasty, including the sides. We also had gelato for dessert. Service was good too. Excellent place for a date night

Great food. Managed to get a seat outside at night in front of the water. Amazing atmosphere. The service was a pleasant experience as well. Our server, Eddy, did a great job walking through the menu and was extremely attentive.

Great place to catch some live music and fun. Simple laid back joint with a lot of expats having a great time. Will definitely visit again next time we're in placencia.

Enjoyed the band that played music from the 70s. Pizza was pretty good and cocktails were average. Only two servers for a large crowd, so service was slow. Looked like it was a local hangout for the people there, so we felt out of place and left early.

Great lunch of burgers and a pulled pork quesadilla that was fabulous. Located on the lagoon side up by Top Value grocery store. Has a dock too if you come by boat. Friendly service and good food at reasonable prices.

Sorry, can't say I would return during the day, maybe the night time is better, but since it's on the enter water way, expect bugs. Just didn't get my moneys worth here. They were friendly, but I can't give them more then a average score for my last visit.

Sheldon, Bones & friends are all super friendly and great people to be around while you watch their live music, kick back, & enjoy a well made drink by the water on the lagoon. I'll keep coming back.

Such a crazy cute place. Just absolutely adore it. And if you need a charcuterie tray catered, there's no better option in Belize. Highly recommend.

Cute place to hang out with a glass of wine if you get tired of Belikan. I had JSL Saignée Rose with Grenache grapes which I was not familiar with. They also have charcuterie’s to pai with wine.

Cool very small location. Bathroom is clean and tidy. Music would have been nice. Good conversation with staff.

Great place to spend an evening. The ambience is fun and interesting, with a lovely terrace out front. The charcuterie was on point (can't get anything like it elsewhere in Placencia Village) and they have a great selection of wines at a variety of prices.

They had live music on Saturday night and the place was packed. Great bartender and a real fun atmosphere. The food is good considering it’s more of a bar rather than a restaurant.

If you're into expats and not socializing with the local culture, then this is the place for you. We would rather experience the native culture and support the local community and businesses.

This appears like the home of Jimmy Buffet. The owners left New Jersey to start a new life and so very happy they are. This is a great bar to kick back with some really good food. It is located down a path from main st. to the beach so don't miss it. It is worth a visit to sit and hang for a few.

Stumbled upon the Pickled Parrot while walking around during a cruise stop. Owner Eugene & bartender Remo are welcoming and friendly. Beers at a great price. Didn’t eat anything but the $10 chicken parm special smelled great. Eugene was kind enough to show us around town in his golf cart, which really made our day in Belize. Love that they moved from Jersey and living their dream. If we find ourselves in Belize again we’ll definitely go back, this time with a trinket to add to the philly eagles shrine! Glad we stumbled upon this place and highly recommend anyone else exploring the area to stop in. Thank you again to Eugene for the hospitality!

The bartender is here is very attentive and works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. Of all the beach bars in town this is probably the best one to go to. And if the game is on, this is the place to watch

Great little watering hole. Most of the guests were expat, and as friendly as could be. The Coconut Shrimp over rice was excellent.

Perfect lowkey breakfast spot on the beach (breakfast served til 6pm!) and dozens of smoothie choices. Affordable hearty meals. Get the fry jacks!

An amazing family owned restaurant that is relaxed with water views. You can swing on the swings and this place has a very welcoming vibe. The staff were very friendly and gracious. I had the veggie quesadilla and it was delicious! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the downtown Placencia area.

Wow! Great location right on the water by the Municipal Pier. Great service, very prompt and friendly. Good drinks and good prices. Your visit to Placencia is not complete without a stop here. They have a huge menu of smoothies that were absolutely delicious. Ice cold drink with fresh fruit for less than $5, heaven. We sat on the beach, enjoyed drinks and a snack. It was a perfect Father's Day.

Best place to hang out and have some drinks. One side of the menu is for smoothies, the other for alcoholic beverages. The food was amazing and our waiter was intriguing. Not in much of a hurry but that's okay considering our view!

I visited this place twice before, the previous times were OK but I was really disappointed this time. First of all, the food was not very good and it was pricey. It was actually more than Wendy's, which is a better establishment, in my opinion. What this place has over Wendy's is it is by the ocean, so the view is pretty good. Our portions were quite small. I ordered a pancake breakfast, and my pancakes were just a little bit bigger than silver dollar pancakes . My sausage tasted like it was freezer burned. That wasn't the worst part. One member of my party has a phobia of dogs, The owner had a dog that was free to roam throughout the establishment. This is okay for most, and I like animals. However, you have to be aware that there are people with phobias and also allergies I told the waitress that the young lady in my party had a fear of dogs, and she stated it was the owner's dog. We asked them if they would do something about the dog, and they chased the dog off twice, but the dog kept coming in. The young lady could not enjoy her breakfast and had to leave eventually. I think the owner needs to be a little more sensitive to the patrons. needs and desires. It was a little dog. However, when you have a phobia size, it does not matter.

Great selection of fresh juices and smoothies. I tried several over the week and they were all delicious. The conch & shrimp ceviche was the best you could order in placencia, I love the homemade chips. The smoked fish tacos were fantastic and fresh and the garlic mayo was so good also. Our server N.J. always greeted us with a smile and made the meal even better with his positive and happy personality!

We tried The Shak for breakfast, opting to sit at the outdoor tables in the sand. The restaurant is right next to the pier and harbor. The fresh guava juice was flavorful. We had The Works with scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, and fry jacks. The food was good, but lacked the flavor that we’ve had at other places. We needed to add salt and pepper, and that’s not common for us in Belize. The menu we found online was not accurate, so I’m including a photo of the breakfast menu here. The staff was friendly, but did not check on us after delivering the food, and they only offered jam for our fry jacks as we were paying the bill. Free parking is available in the lot by the pier.

This is a great low key place to hang out. Right over the water. They no kidding have the breeze. When it's stifling in other places in the village you can count on getting the breeze here. Erick is the best! Come play trivia on Saturday or just stop in and play cribbage or backgammon. There's always a game going on. This is where the local hang!

Definitely not the most sophisticated spot. Everyone was ordering the ribs which looked and smelled Fantastic. Unfortunately, by the time we ordered food they had run out of ribs. So we had the chicken that was Very good. Great casual & friendly atmosphere. Very popular with the sailing community anchored off shore.

If you're a cruiser, it's almost mandatory to stop. No food, but drinks flow for reasonable prices and the company is great. Yoli and Regan (owners) are awesome people, as is Eric the ever-present barkeep. You can tie up the dinghy and go to town for some supplies as long as you stop for a drink! The pork chops on Sunday are worth the trip!

My first time in placencia & I found this place with a little research we arrived about an hour before they opened since we drove about 2 hours to get their but they let us right in which was nice as we were the first ones there. The placencia sign is right beside which was nice for pictures. We found a nice spot right infront of the ocean. The place was nice and clean and service was great as we didn’t even have to get up to order food or drinks. The food was surprisingly good. We had the ceviche, Belizean nachos & beef burger. Everything was delicious. We order a couple drinks but I found mine which were made with liquor quite watered down. As i’m not much of a drinker and with one I’m pretty tipsy but I had 3 in totally and didn’t feel anything. The place was quite empty for it being easter which was nice as it wasn’t overcrowded. The pool was nice to go in especially with my toddler which wasn’t a big fan of the ocean. I do think they need a change room but other then that it was very beautiful and perfect relaxing day by the ocean. I would 100% come back and recommend. Overall with drinks,day pass and food we paid about $100 belize which was perfect.

I don't know if one could find a better combination of owners, staff, location and atmosphere... In Belize or, otherwise... I've had the good fortune to spend a good bit of time at The Placencia Beach Club..it is no doubt.. top-notch .. The views from anywhere, especially the pool...are right out of a movie it seems..... The deck just through the entrance and out by the water is a great spot for a bite.. Try the fish tacos and cucumber salad.. along with the iced tea ... Unsweetened even... Soooooo refreshing! And the personable service from the staff... In point! Just go.. soak it up!

You must go here when you come to Placencia! The view is amazing, drinks are good, food is tasty and there’s plenty of options for lounging by the pool and on the beach! They have a swim up bar too that is super cute! Highly recommend

My wife and I recently visited Placencia for the second time. The Placencia Beach Club has become our happy place!!! The staff remembers guests by name a year after first meeting them. Ownership is present and engaged. The food and drinks are absolutely on point. Improvements are constantly being made to impressive facilities. With each visit we meet locals and tourists alike that we build lasting relationships with. Sound unbelievable? Go see for yourself!!!

The Beach Club has everything you need to be able to relax by the beach, or in the pool at the swim up bar. The bartender Mario is the best. Very attentive and will keep your drinks fresh all day. They also serve good food. We will be back!

Went twice and enjoyed both times. Golf cart pick up and drop off are a huge bonus. Lots to do, food and drinks good and priced reasonably. The service staff are truly top notch. Highly recommend

Rick’s a former Bostonian who has a comfortable cafe with darn good pizza. I went on a night when all Grateful Dead was being played but I dug it anyway and am going back in a few minutes for a takeway.

Staff was accommodating but the Greek salad portion was tiny with half a lettuce for filler. Real Greek salad does not contain lettuce, period. Had to ask for olive oil as it came with some weird sauce. I guess someone thought it was good idea to add Greek salad to the menu but didn't read the Greek salad manual :) The place was hot as hell, being on second floor. Decorations on the tables were lovely and the mural painting by the washrooms is very nice.

The food was great, service was excellent. It was a bit toasty outside and the mosquitos go insane around 5:30-6:30. Prices were fair and portions were as expected.

Delicious food, competitive prices, and an excellent atmosphere make this place a must. Staff are friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I ate an early dinner here in October. I cannot recommend this place enough!

One of my favourite places to eat in town! They have healthy options and high quality ingredients. The salads are amazing, especially the Greek salad. Also their soundtrack is upbeat and nice (early 2000s). Overall great vibes with patio / deck seating options. Cute ambience in the evening for dinner.

Heart of Placencia Village, second floor breezy patio above main (only) paved Placencia Rd. They opened a much larger restaurant from their humble beginnings on the sidewalk, where they were famous for the best pizza. They have expanded their menu to include the best classic salads and American type menu with burgers, etc.; their cleanliness, quality and service is always consistent excellent. If you want authentic Belize fare or street vendor prices, this is not for you.

We enjoyed a pizza ,pasta and some cocktails at this great spot. Only reason for not 5 star for food was that the pizza crust wasn't very crusty. But that's just me. A lovely spot. Highly recommend

Great pizza and great drinks. There was a cover for music upstairs but the vibe downstairs was chill. We got a frozen coconut mojito and a pina colada and both were delicious and refreshing. The Kriol pizza was also great and had plantains on a pizza!

We stopped by for happy hour drinks and decided to get a pizza. We had a Belizean pizza which was excellent -the crust was perfect and it had just the right amount of toppings. The staff were really friendly too. I'd go back.

First day in Placencia. This place was the closest one to hit Happy Hour from my airbnb. Excellent service and upstairs patio was very cool! I hear from other patrons that they make the best Panty Ripper ($5 bze during happy hour) in town. Have not tried their food yet.

I've been all over Belize now and this place has the best pizza in the country. I spoke to the owner, he knows his international pizza styles really well. They are very serious about pizza. There are bands upstairs sometimes, we saw a good show with pro sound and lights. I will come back again.

Loved it! We split the Alfredo, amazing! It's a must try for sure. The pizza was also great. Fast and friendly service to match the food too. They do deliver in the village too, if your looking to avoid rainy day travel.

We had the best pizza at Chachis! We created our own pizza: bianca with caramelized onions, caramelized plantains, basil, mushrooms, garlic, and pepperoni. I feel in love! Who knew plantains were so amazing on pizza. Loved the outdoor seating upstairs. Open air and watched life pass by as we ate. Thank you!

Food was amazing - we had shrimp and mushrooms risotto and the snapper. Live music was amazing! Sat on the top level and enjoyed every second of it. Place was extremely busy so service was slow (very slow... food came before our drinks....) but I'd go back again and give them another chance.

The snapper red curry dish was unbelievable. A favorite meal of the whole vacation. The fish and chips were the best batter and crunch I’ve ever had. Beautiful setting on Main Street in Placencia. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere was nice, lowlight, calm, hoping it would be a very romantic dinner for our last night in Placencia. We ordered the tostones for our appetizers which came out cold and slightly soggy. My wife ordered the pork chop which was tough and came with vegetables and a piece of bread which was burnt on the bottom. I ordered the Beef and Reef which was very tasty but advertised at a false price. The service was far from the standard of what a restaurant should be. The false price and everything else was a terrible experience. The saving grace was the taste of the beef and reef.

We had a party of 30 people and sat out on the back deck upstairs. They had fans going and the place was awesome. The staff was all over the service and made sure we were taken care of. The food was outstanding as well and you can see from the pictures. The drinks were nice and strong as well. Would highly recommend this place for a meal.

One of the restaurants in Placencia that exceeded our expectations and previous reviews! It was OUTSTANDING! We had fried plantains and lionfish for appetizers, then beef short rib lasagna and coffee rubbed fish entrees. Oh and a mojito! Everything was superb!

This place was so good! We went two days in a row for the ceviche and pineapple mojitos. The coffee rubbed snapper and curried snapper were delicious as was the lionfish crudo. Prices were reasonable for such fresh food. If we're ever back in Placencia we'll definitely go back!

My husband and I are foodies and this is absolutely the best food we’ve had here. It’s fresh, the flavors are exquisite, atmosphere and service is phenomenal. It’s exceptional and I’d eat here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. Best place we’ve eaten at in Placencia.

Loved our time here for my partner’s birthday. Ambience is great and all the food we had was superb. Service was a bit of a miss vibe-wise but still giving a 5 star review as it was subtle. Highly recommend the lasagna — one of the best I’ve ever had, hands down. Rosé sangria was also delicious! Coffee rubbed fish was missing a certain element (maybe could’ve been caramelized more, flavor was a bit weak) but was ultimately well balanced. Croquettes were done really well. And the crudo was chefs kiss :)

De Tatch is a first class local restaurant! It’s a home away from home with first class service from Mel, Maria, and Sheryl. The kitchen crew is the engine behind the scene cranking out homemade fry jacks, tortillas and Johnny cakes. No reservations needed just walk in sit down make your selections and leave the rest to them.

We enjoyed our time at the restaurant. We had gone the day before and it was packed, so we assumed it was going to be really good. Most places in the area were not very busy because we were there during the off season. We both enjoyed our food. I got a egg and bacon sandwich with lettuce and tomato on it. My girlfriend ordered a Omelette with jacks. My food was good, but I've had better quality for the same price on the peninsula. My girlfriends omelette was the same quality as everywhere else and jacks were great as well. Our server was fantastic. I like black coffee and they're black. Coffee was great. The view is something to write home about. Very picturesque and would be good, Rain or shine.

For our recent visit to Placencia, De Tatch became our regular lunch spot. Food and drinks were always delicious, recommend the watermelon margaritas, breakfast burrito and the fly jack’s. Service was great and you cannot go wrong with the view!

De Tatch has been my favorite spot in Placencia! I got the eggs and bacon and got the fry jacks with cinnamon and sugar that I dipped in the guava jelly they give you. I got the orange juice but then switched to lime juice because I tried my husbands and it was so good! Everything was delicious! Their was not much of a wait compared to other places in town. We had a perfect view of the ocean, the place was clean, the music wasn’t too loud and it was so relaxed. 10/10 do recommend!

This beachfront restaurant is close to our lodging and easy walk. It is beachfront. We had dinner a week ago and enjoyed our meal (shrimp creole, grilled fish). The conch croquet is the best we’ve had so far in the two weeks we have been in Belize. The only room for improvement is for our server to be more friendly. This is why I am giving a 4 star instead of 5 star.

We were on a mission to find stuffed fry jacks and came upon this place. We each ordered it along with fresh fruit juices and cinnamon fry jacks. The stuffed jacks were huge, filled full of eggs, beans, bacon and had cheese and salsa on top. Super delicious and filling. The cinnamon fry jacks were super soft and reminded me of mini doughnuts! Service took a while but was worth it Located right on the beach, parking can be hard to find on a small side street. We liked it so much we went back and ordered 4 more stuffed fry jacks to reheat the next day (as we had a super early morning). Unfortunately they said those would be ready in 20 minutes but took 1 hour. Review reflects in the restaurant dining experience.

We stopped in for brunch. The watermelon lime punch was great as well as other mixed drinks. Most of us ordered the stuffed fryjacks and enjoyed them. We probably would have ordered another drink if the service had been quicker.

Coldest Belikin in Placencia! Go see Blue eyes, he makes the best 'Lunch Box' ever!!!! Love this little Belizean bar. You must visit J Byrds after you go diving with Seahorse Dive Shop.

This is a nice place no lie, but there was a issue at the club I think there is a leak on the air conditioner while I was getting my beer on the bar a bad air I inhale can case some people death it really heart my noise especially for tourists be careful on these air conditioner and have a technician service it,thank you hope to be soon out there again

RESPONSE WITH EMAIL NOT VALID! Thanks for getting back to me, but this email address is not valid. If I could give zero stars I would. The food was fine (entire menu is fried food). We had missing sides that we ordered, as well as missing appetizers. Our server never rang them in despite reading us back what we ordered. We also ordered specific beers and they brought us random beers. At one point our waitress even said to us that if we need anything she’d be downstairs so we could find her there. There were 5 of us, and she brought 3 meals at once (once she said “I don’t know who this is for” and just plopped it down in front of someone). After bringing the 3 out of 5 meals she went missing for 30-45 minutes and came back and said she was eating her dinner because she hungry after dropping off half of our food. She then told us that she didn’t have time to digest her dinner because they are so busy. There were 2 families of 5 in the entire restaurant. She also told us only 2 chefs were working on this Friday night in a very tourist heavy area. To top off the entire meal, at the very end of the meal she said “I was supposed to tell you this at the beginning but our credit card machine is down so pay in cash”. Would not recommend going here. I appreciate you responding to my google review yesterday. We went out for a nice dinner and read good reviews, and picked it over somewhere that was recommended by a local. We were extremely upset with the service especially. The waitresses were not friendly, attentive, or considerate. The fact that she fed herself before bringing us all our food was wild and unacceptable. The biggest issue I’d say was telling us we couldn’t pay with credit card at the end of the meal and we were all scraping the bottom of our wallets hoping we had enough cash to cover this monstrosity of a meal. We also did not receive what we ordered at all. About 75% of our meals were wrong even after she read our orders back to us. She didn’t even put in our appetizers and was not apologetic for missing a lot of our food.

Amazing conch fritters. Moist, fluffy, herby, soft, round, crunchy exterior. Huge and delicious fish sandwich (called a burger, but it is whole fillet of fresh fish). Good drinks, and upstairs bar is now covered.

Upstairs has a great view, the staff was fantastic. Dylan was very nice! We got a hog fish and they cooked it up for us. Really tasty

This would be my number one recommendation for an extravagant dinning experience in Placencia! Caroline and her husband have built an amazing family friendly atmosphere with home cooked meals and the best entertainment… wide ocean sunset views!

We had an amazing day at Placencia Yacht Club! The setting is absolutely beautiful – a private dock with a small restaurant where you can jump straight into the water. There are floating mats, hammocks, and plenty of spots to relax. The food was delicious, the cocktails were fantastic, and the atmosphere was so peaceful. The host is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The boat transfer from the Placencia pier to the dock was easy and fun, and they brought us back when we were ready to leave. Truly a special experience in Placencia – highly recommended!

Imagine arriving by boat on an island in Belize where a Swiss woman with Italian influence in her cooking has created a most unique dining and sunset watching experience! Caroline the owner will greet you warmly at the dock and make you feel like she has prepared especially for your arrival because she really has! The Pasta Carbonara is off the charts delicious along with the selection of appetizers. I especially enjoy sipping a glass from the selection of dark aged Guatemalan rum while watching big tarpon cruising past the dock. Caroline is a fireball of energy and contagious enthusiasm, and a highly experienced and accomplished fly fisher. Leaving with a full belly and a full heart is a certainty!!

Wish we had found the Placencia Yacht Club earlier in our vacation! What an amazing place with views, atmosphere, and wonderful food/drinks! Caroline was so hospitable and made us all feel like family. Met numerous other customers from around the world and felt like we were already friends. I hope to be able to go back someday!

While in Placencia, you simply MUST spend time at the yacht club. Caroline is a lovely woman who, with her husband, have embraced the laid back lifestyle of Belize. Each night they invite you into their delightful world, floating above the see as the the sun sets. Their 3 pups add to the charm, sitting at your feet while you munch on crostini, wings, and pasta, and sip on some wine. We went twice in our short stay—hoping to come back soon!!

My new favorite spot in Placencia. Not only is it beautiful from every angle, the food is exquisite and Caroline could not be a better hostess. I will absolutely be visiting the Placencia Yacht Club on every visit! Could not recommend more highly.

What an amazing night! This was such a special experience. We got picked up by the boat at the placencia pier then we were brought to the breathtaking yacht club. Caroline made us a delicious carbonara and we enjoyed some wine and ginger beer in the hammocks overlooking the sunset ☀️You must add this to your itinerary while in Placencia 🏝️🛥️

shane is the goat, he made me a bomb ass mocktail (mango, lime, and coconut cream 🔥) and i had one every night of our vacation. if you go, make sure to treat shane like the great guy he is and tell him hi from the gingles.

The coolest and most fun bar in Placencia! We loved the laid back and chill vibe here. The decor alone deserves 5 stars because it's unique and also comedic. The Crosby on the menu definitely made us laugh! We planned on only having one drink here but the locals that we met at this bar were a blast. We ended up staying for hours and I definitely had one too many Panty Rippas (super refreshing cocktail that they offer). We will definitely come back the next time we are in town.

This is a fun bar near the pier in Placencia. You can try a variety of their rums for free and then order a cocktail. They don't have food but you can order from the hotel upstairs and stay and eat at the bar your choice. We had fun. Great music and people watching. It is touristy but that's ok. Go there and enjoy. They also sell fun themed merch too.

Ate upstairs from here which was awesome. Watched fruit bats harvesting craboo fruits.

OMG the food was incredible. Views from the top pf the restaurant were incredible. Server was super nice and sweet too. Parking upfront is a great plus.

Unbelievably surely and disinterested bartenders. I can’t believe anybody would want to go and be treated with the disrespect these bartenders showed. No interest or eye contact. Clearly in the wrong line of employment. Also, you should know, spent a fair amount of money there in spite out there disinterested.

Good selection of different local and imported rums. They have a wide variety of their own rums, both traditional and flavored. Probably will come back to try some others.

Cool bartender and staff who are more than willing to change the music if you don't like what's playing. Ordered chicken nachos supreme and the portion was huge!

The bartender was cheerful, but hard to signal, although he did offer refills when he noticed an empty on the bar. Live guitarist doing fair covers of various classic rock artists. It was a little more mellow earlier in the week. A happy, hoppy (and somewhat ganja infused) atmosphere. Perfect for a tropical watering hole.

Such a fun place right on the main strip to hang out with friends. Live music wed- sat evenings with great food @ good prices. Don't forget to have the key lime pie, it's amazing! We heard they had homemade cinnamon rolls in the am so had to go back there for breakfast also🌞

We came upon Strange Brew because we had a boat picking us up on the dock behind the restaurant. The staff was super helpful, and didn't mind us waiting to meet the boat with our bags for an hour. The drinks and food were good, and the folks working couldn't have been friendlier.

Maybe its because we were at a bar but our service wasn’t very timely while waiting to order lunch. We were hungry and in patient. We expected the cheese dip to be warm but it was cooled. It was still pretty tasty. We shared the Pulled Pork Slider tower and it was delicious. Definitely enough for two people especially after having an appetizer. Definitely need to come back to try the brownie dessert, it sounded amazing. They had music playing and nice decor

I was so anxious to get to this eatery because on my last visit. I stopped here to have seaweed shakes. I spoke with the owner and tolder. I see that you have renovated and it looks nice. Period period she accepted the compliment, But neglected to tell me that It was a new establishment the one I went to before was called Brewed Awakenings and they had relocated. I got some smoothies, and they added seaweed. They look good but tasted really bad. There were 4 people in my party at all 4 of us dropped our smoothies in the trash can after taking 2 sips. Brewed Awakening still exists but it's closer to the dock. I can only say what works for me, but I will not return to this establishment. It left a lot to be desired.

I can highly recommend just about everything that comes out of this kitchen!! The Belizean cheese dip is so yummy, the tacos are out of this world, the burgers are huge and juicy, and the chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was a wonderful surprise!! I have never been disappointed by anything I've had here!! And I keep coming back for more!

Best bar in Placencia in my opinion. The bar is right on the beach with hammocks, chairs, and a pool that has a swim up bar. There was usually music playing and one night there was a live band. The bartenders were really friendly - Ner and Melissa were the best! They primarily have bar food like wings and fries that are good, so don't expect dinner here. Recommended placing orders at the bar since the bartenders are pretty busy and there aren't separate waiters walking around taking orders.

Staying at Maya Beach, we needed a cold drink on a hot day so chose a quick stop at Toucans. Sat at the bar. Bought a couple of beautiful lime Tshirts as gifts. Ended up on the bar pool stools (Refreshing). Joly, the bartender made us feel at home and introduced us to a Hibiscus Mojito... Delightful! The chicken cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers were sassy and super. And the Trio Band arrived for the evening to top it off with great music. Not rap.... But really good music! We originally returned to Toucan's because of Melissa, who was super and fun. Wishing her good health. 👍❤️

Toucan Jack's is one of my favorite places. The atmosphere is always chill. Beautiful views, great people. Tonight was dollar wing night. Fantastic time!

Best bar in Placencia with the very charming bartender Jolly. She makes the best coladas and margaritas and made us feel very welcome. We will come back here every trip.

$18 Belize for(2) extremely small and the worst tasting Mexican egg rolls I’ve ever tasted! I wish I took a picture,, wings were acceptable for price. Drink Prices don’t match menu prices. Coming here for years and always bring our guest, was a big disappointment and will not be returning. Not to mention they were playing with the computers and tried to charge $10 extra then the receipt said. Very fishy businesses!

Bar right on the beach. I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after us. They watched over our stuff for us when we went for a swim even though we were not staying in the hotel. The drinks are reasonably priced. The best thing that happened to us here is that we could see wild dolphins swimming and jumping in the sea. Wonderful place.

What a beautiful place!!! Lots of renovation had to be done, to finally make it like it is now. So tasteful. We hopped in as we walked home and escaped from a huge rain ☔ great wines, great cigars. Little gift shop. We took the break to have some wines and a Cohiba. Thanks for letting us in.... All the best for you!

The hosts are excellent, and share their home with Grace and hospitality! They have an excellent wine cellar available, as well as cigars and elixirs from the back country. We sat together on the palupa and shared a bottle of wine. They have a hard-earned knowledge of the country on general, and placencia specifically that they can share as well! If highly recommend that you stop in and grab a bottle to go and some cigars!

Pyramid house is a lovely little gift shop and wine bar just outside of the village. The hosts live on the second floor but have opened the main floor and their roof top patio to guests. They have done an incredible job renovating the building and both the gift shop and wine cellar are well curated with things that you can't find elsewhere in the area. The rooftop patio has an amazing 360 view that is just above the trees and houses extending to both the lagoon and the ocean. A wonderful spot in the shade and ocean breeze to enjoy the sunset with a bottle of wine, a cigar, and melted brie (no food menu as such, but they do have something to snack on)

A beautiful quaint, little place as you enter the heart of Placencia. I've been in Belize for 3 years and I finally discovered it today. Great wines and AUTHENTIC Cuban cigars all moderately priced. Fred, an expat will make you feel right at home!

A diamond in the rough. Once inside you'll see all the amenities and comfortable surroundings. A vintage wine cellar and cigar room. A rooftop lounging area with limitless views. If Placencia is on your agenda please make time to stop at The Pyramid House.

Fred was very gracious and welcoming! If you're looking for quality wines and authentic Cuban cigars (also has a nice selection of Costa Rican sticks) you should stop by.

What a magnificent place! Really a gem with great food and terrific Hobbs beer. It made me appreciate our stay in Belize even more. A must try. Highly recommend

One of the most unique breweries I’ve been to! Great beers with varieties to please the causal beer drinker to a crafty aficionado. Food was delicious, service was excellent as well! Great views, nice breeze from the ocean. There’s a cool cigar lounge if that’s your jam! Def check it out while visiting this beautiful area, cheers!

We loved tasting the different craft beers. My favorite was the Tripel. It was cold and refreshing on a hot day! The sliders were tasty, but the patties were a bit small for the buns. The onion rings were cooked beautifully and presented well, however they were lacking that something special with the flavor. After two weeks in Belize this was the first time we felt we needed to add salt and pepper to our food. I would love to see a little more local flavor on the menu. The staff members were great! Very friendly and attentive. The water views were cool, and there’s a resident crocodile the periodically makes an appearance. There’s a cigar shop and smoking area, and we were very pleasantly surprised that we did not smell smoke while the area was being used. We would go back for the beer.

Amazing! The moment you get out of you get out of your car you know you chose wisely. We were immediately welcomed as we boarded the barge. Everyone was warm and genuinely friendly. The food was delicious, something for everyone and you can't go wrong. Craft beer, mixed drinks, and more...we had the margaritas, I asked for mine with jalapeño and it was balanced perfectly! My boyfriend enjoyed the cigar room while I was in the gift shop where I found the softest lightweight sweatshirt, a great trucker hat, and a couple of colorful bracelets to bring home to my little one. shop. The atmosphere was fantastic, it was clean and comfortable, right in the water. So many great things to say about this place, we can't wait to go back tonight! I'll update later with more details, live music tonight, and karaoke tomorrow (Friday).

Surprised by how huge the area was and barge looked so cool. Barge was overlooking the creek that made me looking for crocodiles 🐊. We ordered beer flght of so many varieties of beer, they were all fantastic. Food quality was also up there. Enjoyed conch ceviche & sliders were very tasty. Cool to check out the gift shop and enjoyed the visit with the rented holf cart!

This is a cool place. Karaoke wasn't the highlight of the night but the food and the atmosphere were outstanding. Greeted like we were regular customers. They asked our names and used them when the waitress came to take our orders. Friendly open air tropical night air gently await your dining adventure. Beef isn't Texas quality but it was very good. Maybe the hot tropics made me hungrier than normal but I ate every bite. The drinks were cold and exactly what we wanted. Great spot to enjoy the night air and a good meal. Our evening wasn't crowded or even busy. Good service and good food. Parking was simple and it has a gravel parking lot. It could be accessed by a wheelchair but it will be a steep gangplank to access the barge. Big space and made for the tourist. It hit the spot after eating the local foods for a few days.

The location was great and the setting and interior has a nice vibe to it. Just stopped by to check it out. The Cream Ale was good. The fried pickles were disappointing. It had zero flavor. The exterior of the “pickle” was crunchy but also lack flavor. I am not sure how you take the vinegar flavor out of a pickle but they were able to do it. The service was great and overall worth another visit.
