Disco club
Coco Bongo Punta Cana, situated in the Downtown Mall of Bavaro, offers an unforgettable experience with its vibrant and entertaining live shows that combine iconic Hollywood films, Broadway musical pieces, and theater performances. This adult-only disco is known for its thrilling atmosphere and diverse admission options. It's considered the best nightclub in Punta Cana due to its language-friendly environment, top-notch security, and reasonable prices.
What an amazing experience! The show was FANTASTIC! This show had it all! From Beetlejuice, Furiosa, The Mask, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson + more. Great sets and costumes. Terrific sound system. My only suggestion is get there early if you have the standard ticket. If you can afford the upgrade to VIP DO IT! Definitely worth it
David R — Google review
Overrated and Unsafe – Think Twice Before Going! This place is seriously overrated. It was dangerously overcrowded — people were crammed in like sardines, especially around the entrance where the only bar is located. In case of an emergency, there’s no clear way out. It felt like a major safety hazard. They advertise it as an “open bar,” but there’s only one bar and it’s practically inaccessible. I couldn’t get a single drink without pushing through a sea of people. The show itself is decent — the dancers and production are good — but nothing has changed since I last went to Coco Bongo in Cancun three years ago. Even the music was the same, which made the whole experience feel stale and repetitive. Save your money and go somewhere you can actually move, dance, and enjoy yourself safely.
David H — Google review
The procedure to get a ticket is really unnecessary, takes a lot of time and is not convenient or efficient. All presentations are amazing for the mezzanine you can really enjoy the whole performance perfectly, the actors, dancers and all performers put a lot of effort for that incredible act. On the other hand, the place is so full that makes it impossible to get out, the people are soooooo push into the bar that you can barely breath no safe the quantity of people they put in this place. Honestly there should some kind of limitation or regulation. The cocktails were fine, and the food was regular.
Juliana — Google review
Atmosphere was great. Loved the show a d the energy was unmatched. Definitely would not go for food but I think that's the point. Drink were pretty weak as well. But again excellent show
Shatasia J — Google review
Must see. Great show. Not really disco. But lots of fun and amazing entertainment. VIP package not needed. Not so special. Only if you want to sit down.
Kevin M — Google review
Where do I begin... it was a catastrophe from the very start! 1. Zero clarity on where to line-up to check in and then zero clarity on where to line-up to enter the venue. 2. Venue reps constantly harass you to purchase "skip the line" tickets at $15. 3. MASSIVELY overcrowded to the point it's a mass casualty incident waiting to happen. 4. Impossible to see the show if you're on the ground floor and near the centre stage. Absolutely no view of the upper stage whatsoever. 5. The acts lasted only a few minutes each. 6. The drinks are watered down. The rum had barely any taste and the vodka with mixer tasted like juice. 7. The PUSHING! I was moving from the toilet past the stairs towards the bar so I could get back to my friends. A security guard pushed me away from the stairs so I shouted at him "I'm going that way" and pointed at my friends. A second security guard then pushed me away from the stairs again as I was trying to make my way through the crowd so I turned and pushed him back (almost got myself kicked out). He shouted something at me in Spanish so I got closer to him and shouted "do NOT PUSH me" in his face then turned and moved away. If you really want to go, then maybe spending more money on an upgraded package/ticket is worth it.

Coco Bongo Disco Punta Cana is an unforgettable nightlife experience that goes far beyond a simple nightclub. From the moment you walk in, you’re transported into a world of spectacular performances, dazzling light shows, and non-stop music. The mix of live acrobatics, tribute shows to world-famous artists, and energetic DJ sets keeps the crowd dancing all night. The atmosphere is electric, with a perfect blend of tourists and locals all enjoying the party together. Drinks flow freely, the service is friendly, and the energy never drops. If you’re in Punta Cana and want an extraordinary night out filled with entertainment, dancing, and pure fun, Coco Bongo is a must-visit.

Visited on a Monday and there were a few other tables occupied but quiet. Nonetheless the music was kept lively and opened late for drinks!

Good place for a drink. It’s close to the resorts, so drink prices are a little higher. Wait staff is very attentive.

Restaurant
La Yola Restaurant is a culinary gem in the Dominican Republic, beautifully designed to evoke the charm of dining on a small fishing boat. Perched on stilts above the water, this stunning eatery offers breathtaking ocean views that enhance your dining experience. With its thatched roof and glass-bottom floor, La Yola combines elegance with a unique ambiance crafted by renowned designer Oscar de la Renta.
We much enjoyed the ambience, attentiveness of the staff, great food and seating near the water. A great experience all around, we went there with someone local. Not sure it is frequented by tourists all to much, located in a gated community area. We spend a couple hours there in the early part of the week and there was ample seating, no reservations needed.
Tom H — Google review
Excellent service, very warm and friendly. Attention to detail, even with distinct cutlery for each diner depending on their order. Frequent visits to the table to top up drinks. The waiter misheard our order for an appetizer but apologized and returned with the correct item quickly and without making a fuss. The location was stunning, over the water, at a marina - with a hole in the floor to observe marine life (if the water weren't so muddy.) Having said all that, the food was mediocre. The "Cajun" seasoning lacked flavor and was basically a tomato salsa. Rice and beans was a disappointing accompaniment to the catch of the day, and the tostones lacked flavor or seasoning. The pumpkin Parmesan risotto was nice in flavor but rather gooey in texture, and a dab of butter in the center seemed an odd pairing. The birthday cake was automatically added to our bill because we said it was a birthday, and it was as dense as shortcake. Not what we were expecting. We ordered two glasses of wine, but he brought the bottle to our table. When he poured a third glass to finish the bottle, we were charged for a 3rd order of a glass of wine rather than being charged for the bottle. All in all of was a pleasant evening of being well looked after, but the quality of the food would keep us from returning in a hurry.

Cute place at the marina. Food was good and service was excellent. Willy has good recommendations, was very nice and accommodating. I got the coconut shrimp - was good but different than what I'm used to. The eggplant parm appetizer thing was so good we got a second portion. (We don't recommend the calamari.)
Lauren R — Google review
One of the best experiences we’ve had and definitely the best during our visit at Punta Cana! Willy was the most attentive, knowledgeable server and his kindness continued even after our dinner helping us make sure that we had transportation to go back to our hotel. The food was delicious! On point with the flavor and portion size. Willy also made us a special cocktail after we shared our preferences and when we come back, we’ll ask for the Willy’s special. Our favorite the octopus and the risotto!
Grecia M — Google review
Nice place to visit. Unfortunately, getting uber back to your destination it’s difficult. We had to get in a taxi recommended by one of the staff. I was little bit scary, but i trusted what my mine was telling me. Good thing, the texi driver was nice and friendly.
Urias T — Google review
It was an amazing experience, I really enjoyed it, there was a great atmosphere, the staff was so professional specially Mr Yoanny and Jean Carlos. If you planning a birthday celebration, a proposal, etc … I recommend this place at 💯 %, I will come back soon. 🔜
Luc P — Google review
Large family group and we all loved the restaurant. Very kind staff and delicious food. It wasn't quick, but that's ok and sit back relax and enjoy the island! Drinks were enjoyed by all, as.they graciously will make any cocktail a mocktail (and appropriately priced). Windy

Great restaurant on the water and away from the resorts/hotels. Great service and selection. Dominican Snapper with multiple choices of sauce were all good as was the Pineapple Shrimp Risotto and the Coconut Shrimp. Highlights of the appetizers were definitely the eggplant w/ plantain and ceviche. Lastly the single leches for dessert was amazing.

Jellyfish was an incredible experience! The beach view was absolutely amazing. It created the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a meal. The food was fresh and delicious, with every dish full of flavor, and the service was attentive and friendly the whole time. Everything came together to make it a memorable dining experience. Definitely planning to visit again the next time I come back to Punta Cana.

Service was very good. Juan took great care of us. We got the mahi mahi and the langostino pasta. It was one of the best meals we had all week staying at an all-inclusive resort. Very comfortable outdoor beach facing vibe, and they covered it up in the evening when it started raining, it was fun. Highly recommend.
William H — Google review
Beautiful view, good service, the food portions are okay but no taste at all, we got the sea food platter and it was way to over cooked, VERY rubbery and dry unfortunately. But the view is amazing, the drinks are very good as well. Definitely on the prices end, paid around $200US for 2 people. 1 app 1 meal 2 drinks.

Our dream wedding! If you are considering hosting your wedding here, don’t walk - RUN to book with Farah and her team. After MONTHS of frustration dealing with the resort for our wedding another bride told us to contact Jellyfish. We are so glad that we did. The resort we originally booked at clearly felt entitled to our business and charged absurd premiums. Instead, Farah and the Jellyfish team CONTINUOUSLY earned our business and trust. From the moment we (very quickly) heard back from them we had zero doubts that they could be trusted to take our wedding seriously and be responsible for our most important day. Farah is a PROFESSIONAL and unmatched talent in wedding planning. From beginning to end the process was seamless, stress free, and an incredible experience. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our biggest decisions were, “which amazing menu should our guests have?”. Farah handled everything and made planning our event actually fun. This is the experience you THINK you should get at an all inclusive. Instead you get it on the beautiful beach at Jellyfish. Our wedding was ‘only’ 18 people, which other venues struggled to provide appropriate suggestions for. This was not at all a problem for Jellyfish. We were given the second floor all to ourselves and they cleared the beach for our ceremony and dance party. It felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Farah even arranged for an absolutely stunning suite next door so my bride and her bridesmaids could get ready. Oh and the food? Every single guest said it was the best meal of our weeklong destination wedding trip. We cannot recommend Jellyfish enough for events. You will get an incredible experience at a great price. If you have as incredible an experience as ours - please remember to tip. Farah and her team need to keep doing their incredible work. I can see Farah going incredibly far in this career. My only regret is I wish we had switched to Jellyfish sooner. Well done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jellyfish is a MUST when visiting Punta Cana. Scenery - the beach view is amazing. Make sure you get a cabana. The beach is up at night. Service - our waiter Juan Manuel was awesome. He took great care of us and was so gracious. Food - muy delicioso! Well seasoned and huge portions.
Marni C — Google review
Good lobster with butter and garlic sauce, but a little overcooked. There is no place to eat inside, and we asked to change tables because leaves, flowers and insects were falling from the plants above. We took advantage of the sun loungers and parasols on the beach, which were included with lunch, but when we asked the first waiter, he told us it wasn't possible. The second waiter was very kind and brought us our personal wristbands. Prices were a little high, but it was a nice experience. The beach was very clean and well worth it. In the evening, when everything is lit up, the place is very romantic. The road to access and the parking were awful.
Marco Z — Google review
Dario is AMAZING!!!! Services and wonderful food! The food was soooo good! We had the surf and turf and a lobster tail. The butter sauce on the lobster tail was delicious! Such a great piece on the beach to eat!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Jellyfish Restaurant, and Sandy made the entire experience unforgettable. He was attentive, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From his warm smile to his thoughtful service, he truly made us feel special. The food and atmosphere were amazing, but Sandy’s outstanding service is what made the night one to remember. Thank you, Sandy, for making my birthday celebration so wonderful! If you’re traveling here on vacation, I highly recommend this restaurant. However, please make sure to take cash, as all restaurants require a service charge fee of 28%.

Pearl Beach Club is a sophisticated and luxurious beach club located in the beautiful Cabeza de Toro area. It offers an exclusive atmosphere with chic facilities, including a stunning infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The club provides a perfect blend of beach, music, fashion, and international cuisine for visitors to enjoy during the day or night. With live DJs and various activities, Pearl Beach Club is known for hosting emblematic parties in the area.
The place is amazing and the service is top tier ✨ I enjoyed the sushi and pasta a lot! The burger could’ve been more seasoned, it was just okay… wings were good but the ranch dressing was too watery. The money you pay upon entry goes towards your food bill and you pay the difference for whatever goes over the amount. Overall I love the place! Would go again and again!!! Please note: no outside food allowed; no cameras (phone camera okay)
Deidre-Ann J — Google review
Very good deal! We paid $200 for a poolside, covered, bungalow and that $200 went toward food and drink credits. There's music, wifi, and power outlets. This is a great place to spend the day. There are 2 pools and beach access. It gets crowded at 4 so I recommending arriving before 2 unless you like crowds.
De'Von W — Google review
I went to Pearl with some girlfriends and absolutely loved it. The seaweed was a problem but I liked Pearl because it also had a variety of pools for us to enjoy! Very delicious food and drinks as well. The cabanas were fabulous 🤌🏾
Bethlehem G — Google review
I like this place I’m visiting often for more than three years. It’s a nice oasis far from the noise and hustle, compared to the other Punta Cana beaches. It used to be $30 for a person and now they rise it to 50$ for a minimum consumption. Which is OK in most of the cases but sometime I want to pass for one or two hours just not enough time to fulfill the $50 minimum requirement. It’s always been music at the pool area and sometime they organize, dancing and other events. I don’t know why lately they moved the the DJ and the speakers next to the beach chairs and it’s very loud. The previous way was better.. because people are trying to relax at the beach area and now I cannot make conversation with my friends just Too noisy. This just come back maybe from there complaining the noise cannot sleep used to be better. I give three stars for the service for the reason that the waiters trying softly to cheating in the check.. so visitors ask for your receipts and check out what is in there. Despite of that, that’s my favorite place in the area.. in one of the important things the management responding to most of the comments . It’s nice to know that your opinion is being taken..
Lubo J — Google review

Excellent Excellent all around. Scenic views and tasteful meals. Excellent fir relaxing.
Leon C — Google review
This place is amazing, the beach is great and the club is well maintained, clean and full of amenities like 2 pools, beach access and the restaurant. I guess I was just so unlucky because when I went there they had no FISH/SEAFOOD at all… only the fried fish available. Of course form a beach club you expect to have lots of seafood options, but having NONE from the menu, was quite disappointing. Service to be improved definitely; the guys on the Beach are doing a great job, but they need to be more attentive and know what the guest needs. I waited more than 10 minutes to receive my cutleries for the fish, to then eat it cold. If you arrive by Uber there’s a gate, show them your reservation and they’ll open for you. Once leaving the club, check with the security to let your Uber coming in to pick you up.
Noemi ( — Google review
We called ahead to make a reservation 4 times. They answered and hung up. By the 5th call we had to get our front desk to make the call for us because they clear only respect locals. One person told us it was open for food and no reservation needed. So we spent money and went. The guard at the gate told us reservation only & they were only accepting old people ???? We asked to speak to a manager and he waved us off. Tourism clearly come here regularly. So as a tourist destination please figure out how to have staff who can communicate properly. Or just keep it for Spanish speaking guests. Very frustrating!!!

75 Grados is a popular club in Santo Domingo, known for its lively atmosphere and Latin beats. It's a favorite among young people and offers affordable sugary cocktails. The club attracts expats, tourists, and locals alike, making it a great place to meet new people. With two different atmospheres - one relaxed outside area and an energetic inside space - 75 Grados offers a unique experience. The music is loud, but the crowd is friendly and the security is praised as excellent.
Love the two different atmospheres of this place. One place outside which is a more relaxed and chill vibe and you have an inside area that's a go hard turn up vibe. Drinking out of a blender pitcher is new to me and unique so I enjoyed that, the staff was cool, I'd return.
Sid W — Google review
I love the concept a whole blender lol I certainly great idea one drink all night I was there for happy hour $300 pesos music was good i really will comeback
Wendy ( — Google review
Can't really say much about it because I didn't stay very long. I showed up at about 10:30 which, as we all know, is way too early to judge a lounge so naturally it was empty. Dress code is pretty relaxed but you can't wear sleeveless shirts. I removed 1 star because the music is painfully loud in the bar area. Other than this it seems like a cool spot where you get drinks straight from a blender.
Carlos B — Google review
This place seems nice but there was 0 hygiene, even with Covid 19 still here. I went on Wednesday and they had 2 for 1 pitchers, I had 2 pitchers the whole night and woke up to the worst headache in years.

An ok bar with not so good drinks. The prices are really affordable so nobody should complain about quality. The times I have visited this place I ordered a drink called "pez volador" which is an acceptable one, or beers. You can also order shots if you like. I recommend this to people on a budget but if you have the money to spend try going out to another place.

Kviar Show Disco & Casino in Punta Cana offers a vibrant and sophisticated environment with a great variety of game options, making it a unique experience in the Dominican Republic. It is known for being a reference for parties and shows in the Cabeza de Toro area, catering to teens on spring break, groups of friends seeking adventure, and couples on their honeymoon.
The Kviar Casino was an unexpected delight. We played table games all evening, and had a fantastic time. The dealers and all workers were exceptionally pleasant and engaging. We look forward to our next visit!

Dope spot, stayed down the block at Jewel Hotel and walked to this place for the Casino.. Noticed they had a night club and decided to go in.. DJ was good, played a bit of everything.. I went with the premium payed drinks because those all inclusive “house” drinks don’t hit.. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good night life..

This nightclub & casino is a part of Be Live Collection Adult Only Resort. Pretty spacious, good sound system and lighting. Complimentary to resort’s guests, plus there’s open bar between 11PM & Midnight. Being a nightlife regular, I recommend bringing more of modern club music, like house, techno, trans or at least top 40. With all due respect to local culture, merengue and bachata won’t attract or keep your guests inside.
Gareth A — Google review
We passed by the Casino in the way to the Disco. The Disco has a great layout with a second balcony area and a fairly big dance area. The bar was fully stocked and the drinks were generous. The DJ was probably the best thing about the venue, great music selection. Unfortunately they allow people to smoke everywhere inside, so there is very little fresh air in the Disco and Casino. Come early and leave early before the Smokaholics start their habit.
Ari — Google review
Horrible service, guests who pay a huge amount of money for their stay are expected to pay for drinks after 12:30am at their Club. I have been to numerous resorts that are "all inclusive" and have NEVER been asked to pay for drinks. It's ridiculous for them to expect guests who pay over $200 a night for drinks at an overpriced rate. I could walk down to the snack and get a FREE tequila sunrise however to enjoy this drink at the club I am expected to pay $8. This is absurd and was NOT advertised on the hotel site. If I would have know this I would have never booked this place.

Love this club! Went there a year ago had the best experience of my life. If I wasn't going to the Bahamas this year,I would be at Punta at this same location.

Loved the vibe. The people that live in D.R. made us feel welcomed and taught my family some spanish moves. My only comment would be the DJ should play a variety of Music. Even the Dominicans that live here were sitting down. Also they should keep up with the American music. Alot of the music was from 2q006-2010. Genre's to look into (Soca, Dancehall, Reggae, Kompa, etc.)

Kind of place to chill. Views are crazy from here of full resort. 😍

Updated review. Now it's only open on Fridays and Saturdays. If you're a guest of the resort you can get in free only if you get there before midnight. No drinks are allowed from the resort so you have to pay. The clubbers i saw were the same people you see all day around the resort. Stays open to 4am. Basically one of the few nightlife options you have at the Hard Rock. I wasn't impressed.

Was staying at the Hard Rock Resort and dropped in twice, on Halloween and the following Saturday night. Overall it's a great looking space with fantastic staff/dancers. Unfortunately both nights we attended it was dead (no real party crowd) and most of the space was blocked off for VIP. It was a bit disappointing. DJ was solid (though the music was not my style).

Awesome place with sea views. We had the tuna tartar.. it was so good! The mahi mahi sandwich was a great choice too! Highly recommended!

Beautiful family friendly restaurant. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The dishes are a bit on the expensive side but they are well executed and presented. We especially enjoyed the ceviche, shrimp cocktail and the pecao frito.

Wonderful place to have a beachy lunch! Sweet staff, good drinks, and bug menu. They were very flexible and changed my drink and main course for me as a vegetarian! Thank you! Only negative was that the dish my husband wanted was out (Mahi sandwich) but they had it as tacos.

Great lunch.we ate steak with fries, red snapper with grilled veggies, tuna tartare and salad. we paid $180 for 2 ( for me that is expensive) but food was delicious,(we share dishes) great service and beautiful beach.
Malina O — Google review
Nice quiet beach, not too busy with some bars and restaurants available. Calm waves and soft white sand with tiny little crabs in the water aggressively cute. The only inconvenient is the seaweed which is present sometimes after an offshore storm, excepting this is an excellent beach.
Catalin L — Google review
We loved the catamaran, they really made it fun for everyone. They even stop in the center of the water and let you hang out in like 4 feet of water. They provide drinks. Side by side excursion is what it's called. The staff was super great!!!!

Playa Blanca Resturant is a top pick of mine when i come to DR. One of the best restaurants on the beach for the price! Food is amazing and service is great! Only problem i have is they rudley asked us to leave becuase they were closing. Otherwise fantastic time at Playa Blanca. The beach was covered in seaweed and not a good beach in my opinion!
Robert A — Google review
Beach was good, a little bit weeds in places. Service on the beach was poor, over an hour to have return for drink refills. In the inner seating area for food. Octopus with mushrooms and grilled veggies was excellent! Calamari was tasty. Cheese burger was good. We spit all dishes between the two of us.

Located in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Big Lee's Beach Bar & Grill has been a popular spot since its opening in 2011. Situated by the Cosita Rica Beach with a view of the North Atlantic Ocean, it attracts both locals and tourists, including cruise passengers. The bar offers a lively atmosphere day and night, featuring classic rock music and karaoke. With its beachfront location, patrons can enjoy swimming after indulging in delicious drinks and food.
Went to Big Lee's on a beautiful sunny day in Dominican. We got to meet Big Lee (who isn't that big anymore) and had a lovely meal. The atmosphere is very relaxing and we both enjoyed our meals. The prices are probably a little steep, but it's pretty on par with what we were able to find in the popular areas in the DR.
Aubin77x — Google review
We all went on a trip to PP and this was on our list to try as there were great reviews about it. The good news is the onion rings was good and the fries were also good but a little on the oily side. Now the fish was not good at all, it was not cooked well and it’s too salty and that’s coming from 4 different women.
Emma G — Google review
Exactly what it is, a beach bar! Very relaxed environment. Don’t expect too much. Videos/photos clearly represent this place. Basic menu with burgers and chicken fingers for a little more money than expected. That goes for the drinks too. Expensive for what you get. When you factor in the state of the establishment. I say this because we passed a few restaurants down this strip and they looked more welcoming. Being a bit more up to date, clean with more food options. The server was kind and helpful. It served its purpose. Would I return? Probably not with other options that looked more appealing for the price. I will say it was quiet and the view was pretty.
Pam K — Google review
This place has an almost-cultlike following (especially among Canadians for some reason) and is a great spot to chill and have a few cold Presidentes just a few minutes from the Amber Cove cruise port. The amazing view is definitely the draw (no offense to el jefe, Big Lee), and the staff is excelente! I prefer to eat local in Puerto Plata (I highly recommend Parada El Playa), so we have never tried the food (the fish and chips gets lots of love, but most of the menu is just burgers, fries, etc). The aforementioned view is postcard-worthy, but don't come for the beach which, like most of the beaches along the malecon, is small and trash-strewn.
Gainesvillain — Google review
Best place to eat at the beach in Puerto Plata. When we arrived Big Lee (now medium Lee) greeted us warmly and chatted a bit. We ordered fish sandwiches (my favorite), hamburgers, and chicken strips. All the food was delicious. The waitress was very nice and always smiling. I will be going back in a couple days for another fish sandwich. Thanks for the hospitality Lee.
Joseph C — Google review
We were there in the late morning. We ordered their specialty fish and chips. We were rather disappointed. Although it all looked great. The fish was mushy and grease filled. The frenxh fries were good but also very greasy. The salad would be even nicer if served with a dressing. The tartar sauce was excellent.
Glen B — Google review
Excellent fish and chips! Cool little beach bar in Puerto Plata, serving a very simple but delicious menu. Prices are the best you’ll find here on the Malecon. Sit back, relax, and watch the surfers enjoying the ocean.
Steven K — Google review
On the shimmering shores of Puerto Plata, I stumbled upon an American restaurant that immediately piqued my interest. As I approached, the aroma of sizzling burgers wafted through the salty sea breeze, beckoning me inside. This place exuded authenticity, and I soon learned that the mastermind behind it all was none other than Lee, a Chicago native who ventured to these tropical lands 14 years ago to establish this culinary gem. Sometimes, my cravings steer me toward the comforting embrace of a damn good American cheeseburger, and let me tell you, the ones served here were nothing short of a revelation. With each juicy bite, the perfect balance of flavors danced on my palate, while the crispy fries added a delightful touch of nostalgia to the experience. Nestled right on the beach, the restaurant boasted a view that was truly awe-inspiring. The vast expanse of the ocean stretched before me, its waves serenading my taste buds with a symphony of flavors. The heart and soul of this establishment were embodied by the bartender, chef, and waitress all rolled into one. A charming individual, she happened to be Lee's wife's youngest sister. Her warmth and genuine kindness were infectious, making me feel like part of their extended family. Her dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience was evident in every detail, from her infectious laughter to her culinary expertise. As I delved deeper into the background of this remarkable eatery, I discovered something that truly touched my heart. Lee's social media presence revealed his commitment to not only serving scrumptious American fare but also to making a difference in the lives of local children. His philanthropic endeavors in the community were heartwarming and inspiring. Posts brimming with photos of friends, family, and patrons generously donating money and school supplies for underprivileged children illuminated the immense impact this restaurant had beyond just its culinary creations. Lee, it seemed, was not only a culinary wizard but also a man with a heart of gold. He was beloved by all – from the locals who had come to cherish his presence over the years, to the wide-eyed tourists who discovered a taste of home in this tropical paradise. In the spirit of unity and genuine compassion, I couldn't help but wholeheartedly support a business like this. With every bite of that mouthwatering cheeseburger, I savored not just the flavors, but the knowledge that I was contributing to a cause much greater than my own culinary indulgence. In the world of food and travel, it's encounters like these that remind me of the profound power restaurants can wield in fostering community and uplifting those in need. Lee and his restaurant had truly touched my heart, and I walked away not just nourished in body but also enriched in spirit.

Outstanding place. It was the best day when we decided to spend our evening there. Delicious cocktails together with the best view and quite relaxing beach. What can be better?

We have been all day there. Definitely it isn't best place in Bavaro but once you can try it. Biggest problem this place is you not allowed going in by motorcycle. Doesn't matter which motorcycle you have. We parked well , got taxi 10 dollars one way. Same taxi took us out. Little hi prices for drinks , depend on drinks 😜, meals ok. Beach isn't best definitely, just my opinion. I would suggest others beaches of Bavaro. Totally we happy!!! Vision, resorts!

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We had the pleasure of being served by John and Massiel who provided top-notch service. Attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. I ordered the spicy margarita- perfectly balanced cocktail. Our meals came in timely manner which we also enjoyed. Not to mention the ocean view next to the bar. Highly recommend—this place is a gem!

Took advantage of the taco Tuesday special. Had the Al Pastor taco which was enough. I would have been hard pressed to eat a second for sure. I also included a couple of classic margaritas. I will definitely be back for more. On the beachside of the restaurant is the outdoor bar and seating area. They have some couches which will fill up in a hurry. Seating at the bar and also by the beach is in high demand. Worth the wait to sit there for sure.

Service is an issue. No one cares, no one welcomes, or interested to serve some food or drink options. We came in for the special pizza offer, got denied, still placed an order; waited for 45 minutes during absolutely not busy time. Food was ok, asked for salt; gave me “something” mixed with dirty rice in a used beer bottle that doesn’t work so I have to make wholes with fork in the cork. Dissatisfaction

We ate here tonight and enjoyed it! The service and atmosphere was on point! The appetizers and most of the tacos were amazing. The only tacos I didn't enjoy were the pork belly and El Pastor one's. The flavor was good but the meat was burnt and hard. I thought there were toothpicks left behind. Besides that, we tried all the other tacos and they were amazing! We will definitely be back in the future! The margaritas are great also! We tried all 4 of them. Highly.l recommend!

Jolly Roger Bar and Grill is a local pub in the heart of Sosua, Dominican Republic, catering to Canadians and Americans. The owners are known for their hospitality and accommodating nature. The bar hosts themed events like bingo, darts, and board games throughout the week. Guests can enjoy a variety of food options at great prices, including Canadian favorites like meatball subs. On Sundays, they offer guest chef nights for RD$250.
If you’re in Sosúa and craving some comfort food, Jolly Roger’s is the spot. Their chicken wings are hands-down some of the best around. They are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and loaded with flavor. Whether you go classic buffalo, BBQ, or one of their signature sauces, you won’t be disappointed. Pair that with an ice cold beer and the laid back vibe of the place, and it’s the perfect recipe for a great night out. Friendly service, fun atmosphere, and consistently good food – can’t go wrong with Jolly Roger’s.

This bar and grill is right in the heart of Sosua, very casual and is owned by Canadians. The prices are all very reasonable. The bad thing is the food was not that good. We both had fish and chips and you literally have one fish which is pretty much all batter and it was over cooked. The oil is quite old, you can just taste it from the fish as well as the fries. I also saw other patrons order and they also did not look appetizing. I guess you get what you pay for. Will definitely not go back.

I had a great time at the Jolly Roger Bar in Sosua! It’s a fun spot right in the middle of the strip (Pdo Clisante) with reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. I enjoyed a couple of cold beers and some tasty snacks, and what really stood out to me was the super friendly staff – they really make you feel welcome. Another big plus for me was the WiFi. It’s fast, stable, and reliable, which made it perfect for streaming and watching my games on my tablet without any issues. That’s something I really appreciate when traveling. All in all, great location, great people, good food and drinks, and excellent WiFi. Definitely a place I’d recommend and will be coming back to! Besos de Holanda por el staff 🇳🇱💋🇩🇴

We had high expectations and our experience was okay. Food took a while to come out, we could’ve done for a walk and returned… and the taste was just not there for the price. Cheviche, seafood pasta and red snapper were all very fresh and delicately prepared. Very sophisticated and well presented.

Very good food, the best appetizers are the beef Carpaccio and the foie gras. If your hungry get the lamb risotto. Sea-bass and red snapper is grilled in similar fashion. Good flavor but not enough to satisfy your hunger.
Paolo S — Google review
I am not sure how this restaurant has this high rating. We had a party of 10 and the food took almost 2 hours to come out. Additionally the pasta we ordered was raw and the paella was burnt on the bottom. It is extremely disappointing to them charge such high prices for a very low quality food. I would skip this and spend money getting a private chef for a much more affordable price.

Zoho Beach Club Punta Cana is a beautiful beachfront restaurant that offers excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The staff are fantastic and make sure every guest has a great time. The food is delicious and the setting is amazing - right next to the ocean. Highly recommend!
I proposed here and it was amazing. From the service to the food, just wow! Very professional staff. Waitress stood by the table to make sure everything was okay but far enough to not make us feel uncomfortable. It was very professional and delicate service. I recommend this to anyone wanting to go for good dinner. And for a proposal its the best spot. Headache free they plan everything you just give a date and time. Ease of mind was the best part of it.

This place offers a fantastic dining experience with a beautiful beachfront setting. 🤌🏻 We tried - Spicy Potato which had a great kick of flavor - Strawberry Mojito which was refreshing and well-balanced 🩷 - Rigatoni with Mushroom Creamy Sauce was so delicious, I definitely recommend 🩷 - Dorado Fillet was ok as it was overpowered by the tomato flavor, which dominated the dish—this could be better balanced Overall, the ambiance was relaxing and the service was excellent. A great spot for a memorable meal by the beach!

SCAMM ALERT!!!!Zoho Beach Club in Punta Cana was by far the worst experience I had during my trip. The staff was incredibly rude, completely unwelcoming, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. The food was terrible—low quality and definitely not worth the inflated prices. The views were nothing special, totally overhyped. But the real scam started with the bill. They charged us half the total in mysterious taxes and added fees we were never told about. Then, they had the nerve to tell us that if we wanted to use the benches, we had to spend even more money. Basically, whatever price you see on the menu—TRIPLE IT—that’s what you’ll actually pay. And somehow, they’ll still try to squeeze more out of you. This place is a ripoff disguised as a beach club. Total scam. Avoid at all costs—there are much better and more honest places in Punta Cana.

Came here for my friends 40th Birthday celebration and dinner. Staff were friendly and the food was good! Staff was very accommodating !
Nikeel S — Google review
We went there for the happy hour but the place was relatively empty so we decided to stay also for dinner. The food was very good, the paella and the seafood spaghetti were very tasty, even though the bottom of the paella was completely burnt, so we could not finish it (it happened for both the paellas that we ordered). Other than this it was a very positive experience. The staff was very kind, and they even let us choose some of the songs to put on the speakers.

We started our food tour here, what a treat this place was story-book amongst story-book locations. Right on the beach with the warm yet refreshing sea breeze chilling the senses and inducing a since of calm all while the DJ hammers out the hits. The raised wooden plank platforms are a bonus for eating on the beach without eating the sand. Like all places we encountered the staff were nice welcoming and spoke as much English as we spoke Spanish, I know I have to do better, the few words we knew made all the difference. We tried and appetizer that was a fried chicken ball type item. It was decent but honestly the ambiance makes this a must try. Oh yeah there is also an additional tax with the meal and service, I akin it to the tax levied in Miami Beach, at the time of our visit 1 dollar = 58.75 pesos.

Ajuala is a top-notch dining option in the Dominican Republic that offers an exceptional culinary experience. The restaurant boasts a phenomenal menu with exquisite courses, including dishes like carrot soup, heart of palm and ceviche salad, and ravioli filled with frog legs. The extensive wine list adds to the overall appeal of this establishment. The attentive wait-staff ensures that every detail is taken care of, making it perfect for occasions ranging from Sunday brunch to date-night cocktails.
Absolutely LOVED our dinner experience. We went with the Chefs Tasting menu and it certainly did not disappoint! Everything was so delicious. Also an extremely notable wine selection available. Some more hard to find wines are even available by the glass, which was a lovely surprise.

Very nice ambiance, food is good but normal. The chuleton I ordered was a bit dry, but the appetizer was amazing. Service was okay.
Martha H — Google review
Chef is amazing with great quality food. Very creative with flavors. Our only negatives were the service that was a bit clumsy (although very sweet people) and the atmosphere that felt very corporate (we were proposed a private room that was very cold whilst a business dinner of 25 was next door). Overall, would still recommend!
Alana H — Google review
Was a really great surprise in terms of the service, the food, and the drinks, I drank my favorite drink, The Old Fashioned, and having a great version with one of my favorite Rum (1888), not with bourbon having the consistency and flavor, I just loved. I definitely will be visiting this place again when I'll back to DR. It's a great atmosphere and decoration, and I loved the the plates names, great job Saverio.

The best ribeye and ribs in Puerto Plata, hands down! The flavor, texture, consistency, everything was so incredibly good! The service is awesome! The music they play is a really nice change from what you hear all the time. We ate here 3 times during our 3 week stay at an all inclusive resort. That's got to tell you something. You have got to go check them out!!!!

Bar
Restaurante Langosta Roja is a picturesque beach bar in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It offers an authentic Dominican beach experience with its palm trees, sandy shores, and traditional thatched roofs. This charming establishment provides the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy a few hours. For those seeking a taste of the local flavors, the El Presidente cocktail is highly recommended; it combines rum, orange curacao, vermouth, and grenadine in a delightful concoction.
Absolutely love this place! You can’t beat eating right on the beach with an amazing view! The food is great too, so you can’t beat it. We walked up from the beach many times when we were in Punta Cana and loved it every time. At lunch time you can get the Dominican special by paying once price and get authentic food. They only have that until it runs out and it’s not on the menu. The fish was so fresh and was my favorite. There a guy that stands in front with fresh pineapple and coconut. Highly recommend you have him make you a fresh handmade drink because you can’t beat his price and they are delicious. :) One warning to to be prepared to have people come try to sell you stuff before you go into the restaurant. Just say no if you’re not interested and they will leave you alone. Enjoy!

Had lunch here yesterday. Worst service EVER. After an hour waiting for food, our waiter had disappeared. We went to the kitchen to tell them we had to leave, we were late. They were SUPER rude. Wouldn't take the cost of the food off the bill, and instead put the garbage food into boxes and made us pay for it. It clearly had been made an hour earlier and was ruined. We threw it away. We went back later when we had more time to explain that we shouldn't have been charged, but they didn't care at all. Suddenly they also spoke no English. Complete rip off place. Locals all eat here, but visitors should stay away. They hate us.

The over all stay has been great, the food the service and the hotel. Previously I’ve been to all inclusive resorts and have something to compare it to. One thing they can improve on is the attentiveness of the staff, the only person who really cared about my wife and our drinks was Charly. Charly is attentive to everyone and checks up on everyone to make sure they are well.

Everyone was so nice but special thanks to Arismendy for being the best butler anyone could ask for, and Charlie was the best activity director ever. Charlie was always making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. They both made my stay so enjoyable. This resort definitely aims to please. The resort was very clean. The food had its ups and downs. Most of the time Latin music but guests are from around the world so I think it should be more mix music not just one-sided. The drinks are all inclusive only till 11pm and I've noticed one bartender just totally ignored customers trying to get free drinks before 11pm and walked away and was watching us from the back of the club as if he was just a guest there. Waste of time going there.

Music was nice, mostly local artists projected, we did not stay longer than 12am...it was empty and non animated, with some mixed clients, from the resort and locals. You may only enjoy drinks until 11pm, based on your all inclusive package, thereafter you will have to purchase it...

It's very one sided in its choice of music. It's not bad place to hang out but a more varied selection of local music, dance and culture might be sought elsewhere. Catered to the 16 to 24 year old bracket.

The DJ for this club/disco usually plays the same music. It was not horrible but very repetitive every night we stood there. Also a very important note is that the all inclusive free drinks stops at 12am..after that you must pay for drinks

The entertainment is bad, mainly from the DJ. Really boring. About music, a lot of latin songs, so many people almost didn't dance. They should add more variety. Free drinks bar closes at 1:00 am so after that time you have to pay. If you want to go to the lobby bar is also closed, and the only thing left to do is go to the beach bar, which i don't recommend for the risk you have about being drugged (even more if you're a girl).

Service: 0 - horrible service and it’s like they don’t care, they literally make you feel like you are bothering them and is a favor that they allow you to enter. Food was excellent but will never come back. My husband loves their cigars and every time we come to the country we buy plenty to take back with us for him to also share with his friends but but I’m sure I can disuade him to go to another brand; I cannot give my money to a place that does not care about you.

What an amazing spot! Arturo Fuentes Cigar Bar has the perfect ambience and décor—absolutely classy yet comfortable. The cigar selection is unique and one of the best we’ve seen, with options for every taste. We also ordered burgers, and honestly, they were the best we’ve had in a long time! The biggest surprise? This is the only cigar lounge we’ve ever been to where you don’t walk out smelling like an ashtray. The ventilation is incredible, which makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone who loves cigars, great food, and a top-notch atmosphere!

One of or the most amazing place to have a cigar, great food and atmosphere
Arturo V — Google review
If you’re looking for a cigar lounge that beautifully demonstrates how not to run a cigar lounge, this is your spot. The interior looks fantastic — leather chairs, warm lighting, the kind of place where you imagine sinking in with a fine cigar and a good drink. Unfortunately, that fantasy gets extinguished faster than a damp match. The “welcome” desk was more of an anti‑welcome desk. I’ve seen border control officers who smiled more. At the bar, several waiters were huddled together in a kind of sacred ritual of scrolling their phones, apparently competing for the world championship in ignoring customers. When I asked about cigars, nobody moved. Nobody cared. Nobody even seemed remotely responsible for the actual cigar part of the cigar lounge. I half expected to be told to fetch my own from the humidor. So yes, the place looks nice – if you only want Instagram photos. But if you came for actual service, you might want to bring your own cigar, your own drink, and maybe even your own waiter.
Nicolaj A — Google review
It was a beautiful spot right in the heart of Santa Domingo. Loved the ambience and the staff was helpful. Was able to secure some good cigars at a reasonable price and a beautiful cigar cutter. Beautiful place in a beautiful country.
Erik N — Google review
Disappointed in my experience. As an avid cigar smoker, I anticipated a much friendlier, informative and enjoyable experience. The staff acted as if I wasn’t there from entering the parking lot to walking to the bar, no one greeted me until I had to flag someone down. After sitting down attempting to get the attention of a staff member, I find out that there’s a strict dress code that I was unaware of. Which led me to having to leave before even getting the opportunity to make any purchase. I will take my money to zona colonial moving forward.

I recently visited the store in Santo Domingo. Lovely interior except the Cigar Lounge doesn’t open till 3 PM. I travelled all the way from California. I was looking forward to a nice opus x in their lounge and could not enjoy it because of the opening time is not advertised anywhere. In addition, the employees/staff were not very friendly and never once offered me a water or anything after buying a box of opus x’s. I frequent many cigar lounges throughout the world and they’re always friendly and very hospitable. Anyways, the staff should be spoken to about how to treat customers.

It’s a little outdated and we arrived at 12:40 am on a Wednesday night and it was empty. They say it gets going at around 2 am. It’s inside the Casino building. If you are staying at a participating resort, you don’t have to pay the $10 cover fee and you are entitled to two free drinks.

Way more than I expected. The lighting, the music, the fun. The crowd was a little younger than I'm used to, being that I'm 43, but it was cool. I can say I did that.

Although the casino is a little outdated the club is big enough and it has space to dance, private areas for get togethers. Good music. Good drink specials and friendly and good looking personnel.

If you want to goto a different nightclub that actually remind you of a nightclub in America than this is the place to be. Coco bongo is more for tourists. This club is inside a casino and there are plenty of security. Club starts up around 2pm. Typically the first spot is Drink Point then Legacy.

Since we went right after Fiona hit most to all the other places were closed. We went here three nights in a row. We felt really safe here but it does come with a price. Make sure to tip the guards and you are good. I felt like a king while I was there. The music was ok not the greatest. The service was good. The drinks were ok as well.

Fun place. Staff is great. The bouncers kept an eye out for us at all times. Take care of them , they take care of you. From the club there's an entrance to the Casino. Best of both worlds. And we won money playing roulette.

I was there January 5, 2025. Saturday going into Sunday. I arrived with 2 other American girls, 2 Dominican girls and 1 Dominican guy. I had 7 others on their way there. We decided to get bottles while everyone was on their way. They refused to let us buy any Rum but other Dominican customers could buy. They don’t have the price on the menu because they told the 1 Dominican guy with us, they don’t put the price on menu because they charge a different price to tourists vs locals…. Example… one bottle 8000 pesos for locals and 12,000 for Tourists 👀 that is so criminal & unwelcoming. Never trust a business that doesn’t have their prices on the menu!!! We ended up leaving and going to Latin Disco where we bought several bottles and the prices were listed on the menu. DONT LET THIS BAR/CLUB ROB YOU!! 2 pictures are at Kvair/Lux, the rest are at Latin disco

(1) table of poker, (1) table of BJ, a bunch of slot machines, drunk hustlers and selective options all around! The club starts jumping around 2am TH-Sun! The casino has very limited variety of games! The drink prices are decent and some are only available by the bottle! Everybody wants a tip whether they helped you or not! It's definitely a last minute option to visit this one for entertainment anytime of the week!
Preston C — Google review
As a tourist from Iberostar Resort, have never felt so uncomfortable! Nobody spoke any english or tried to help us. Every stared at us like we weren't welcome there. Walked around the casino and left in a hurry as it looked very shady and dangerous at night. I doubt the casino is legit of monitored, likely would lose alot of money if you played anything.

Much more fun than I expected. We went back several nights and the staff were very friendly. Strange thing is that they give you free liquor, not beers.

It's something to do when you're in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. The casino is very small, but it has slots, blackjack, roulette, and even poker. The club, or disco as they like to call it is next. Get there early if you want to get a seat. Oh yeah the seats are also reserved for those that buy at least one bottle.
Damon D — Google review
Nobody was there and they only have bottle service. The casino is small and doesn't have any food

Can't win em all 😭 first time going I love how small it is and not crowded , anything over 10000 pesos has to be a handpay that really makes you feel like you won something, my wife really enjoyed her first time going, overall I will come back just for fun.

As far as vibe goes, 10/10 for ambiance, lights music and aesthetics. The dj was incredible the night that i went and i had so much fun dancing by the little stage setup they have. However, it’s definitely lacking in the diversity department, i was that darkest person there that night and i mean look at my profile pic..the drinks were a bit pricey and weren’t strong enough so just stick to shots or beer and yeah i feel like if you’re gonna do the elitist vibe thing you can make it more inclusive otherwise you’re doing yourself a disservice. I’d return though…with all my poc friends :) oh and the owner was a sweetheart so s/o to him i hope he takes some of these reviews into consideration.

I had a month waiting to go check the bar for Halloween event, 2 days previews I write to the ig for information regarding the entrance if there were any cover fee....nothing, never answered, I called, no pick up. Fortunately my friend called and got a hold of someone, answered the were no fees but forgot to mention a reservation has to be made. So us two, along with other groups that had the same luck, went down there to get stopped at the entrance by their gorillas security with lack of empathy. I have never been so irritated. This site and ppl lack of professionalism. Really bad first experience.

Pablo S — Google review
As far as clubs go, La Gloria is a pretty good one. However, this opinion drastically depends on whether or not you're willing to give in to their elitist criteria for letting people in. It's one thing to have some sort of semi formal dress code, and another is to belittle those who dare show up in a t-shirt without knowing any of the bouncers. Club's great though. Lights are pretty much turned all the way off so you can dance your worries away.
Rafael — Google review
Absolutely terrible. No organized way of entry, have to wait almost an hour to even get in. And when you finally do, it’s too overcrowded to enjoy everything. There should be more control as to how many people can go in

Vivonte Cigar Factory & Lounge is a must-visit destination in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The stylish lounge on the ground floor and the local factory on the second floor offer a unique experience. With premium and ultra-premium cigars produced by experienced rollers, visitors can witness the craftsmanship firsthand. The factory's tobacco is sourced from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Nicaragua. Additionally, guests can purchase cigars and accessories from their online shop.
I went on a search for hand-rolled cigars that were original and distinct. I'm so glad I walked into this place. I went on the tour and learned the history of their cigars. I also learned about and even saw the tobacco leaves they use to make these premium cigars. I met the owner and after speaking with him, considering of relocating. This place is awesome! Customer service is par none! Product is superb!!!
Karen M — Google review
We visited Vivonte’s during our cruise port stop in Puerto Plata. The men in our group wanted authentic Dominican cigars. As this was our first time in the Dominican, we wanted to make sure we were going to a safe, reputable place. I reached out to the owner, Glen, through his website a couple months prior to our visit. From that initial moment, Glen was above and beyond helpful and communicative. Glen touched base with me a week prior through WhatsApp to see if there was anything else he could coordinate for our group in addition to visiting his store. He wanted to make sure this was not just a cigar stop but a total experience we would remember He arranged a driver to pick us up, making sure we had a picture of him and the vehicle he would be driving. Vivonte is a very short drive from the cruise port and we felt very safe with our transportation getting there. Carlos our driver was so friendly and offered to take us anywhere we wanted to go afterwards, or take the ladies to where they wanted to go while the men were at the store. Glen gave them a tour of his store which included seeing how the cigars were made, and a tutorial of cigar making. Afterwards, the men shared a cigar while the ladies in our group took a brief walk to Umbrella Street and Pink Street that were very close by. It was a wonderful experience that we will remember always. I cannot thank Glen and his employees enough for all they did and I cannot recommend enough that Vivonte Cigars is a MUST stop if you are in the Dominican and would like to purchase cigars.
Aimee P — Google review
Small, but in depth and Bert interesting tour led by great people. Avoid other places that the taxis take you they say are “good”, they take you to those places because they get a cut and not as nice as Vivonte. Highly recommend a visit. I’m a very rare cigar smoker, but they were so good I came back with a box to share with friends back home.
Jeremy W — Google review
Excellent cigars, and a great tour. Sander was super helpful. We landed in Amber Cove, he got us a taxi to pick us up and drop us off. The cigars are top shelf. 😎

I can't think of a better way to spend just a few hours in Dominica. Xander (apologies if misspelled) was an incredibly welcoming host and knowledgeable guide, and the cigars themselves were absolutely top notch. A must for anyone with a love of cigars, and I fully intend to return.

The owner Glenn and the entire team are top notch. Extremely friendly with perfect English. Lower floor has the humidor, bar ,lounge and restroom. Upstairs is the cigar operation and manufacturing. Extremely reasonable pricing, they had the 16+ ounce draft beers for $3. Skip the tourist traps and experience cigar Heaven. Can't wait 2 return!!!

We recently went on a cruise that stopped in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic—on the very day of our 25th wedding anniversary! Knowing how much my husband loves his cigars, I decided to book this tour, and let me tell you—we had the BEST time! Glen and his son are truly wonderful people. We ended up sitting and chatting with them for quite a while as we enjoyed some amazing cigars. Glen arranged a personal driver for us, and his son even walked us to a local restaurant so we could enjoy some authentic Dominican food before we left—he knew I was on a mission for some local flavor! We’re already hoping to fly back to the area just to visit them again. That’s how much we loved the experience!

We traveled to Sosua, Dominican Republic, and a friend mentioned that the DR is known for their cigars. So, I googled cigars and found this amazing place in Puerta Plata. This city is beautiful, but the cigar shop is out of this world. Julio was our tour guide and was fabulous! Yadira poured our drinks after the tour and did a great job. I absolutely loved the tour and the cigar I smoked was amazing. I came back to the US with a box of cigars. We met the owner, Glenn, who is a class act. I recommend visiting this place and enjoying the tour and awesome cigars. I will definitely be back.

El Atelier Bar/Cocina is a trendy spot that originally served as a showroom for a nearby boutique store, blending fashion and art with cocktails in a lively atmosphere. The drinks are crafted to reflect the tropical flavors of the island, featuring complex mixes like the Jarabe Pal'Alma, which reintroduces once-popular local ingredients to mixology. For light bites, guests can enjoy cassava tortilla tacos filled with shrimp and aioli.
I have visited a couple times already. Love to do so when I want good cocktails and want to try something different. Their selection of cocktails keeps being updated every now and then, as well as their menu, with great options to share. The place is not that big, and it gets a bit crowded on Weekends, so it's best to get there a bit early. The service is nice, and you can always count with good recommendations whenever you get there. I would trust them every time.

Summary: OK bar with OK drinks that are WAYYY overpriced with TERRIBLE service. Went here for after dinner cocktails with my wife, expecting to have a “proper cocktail bar” experience that we’re used to. We went inside the bar but there was only one customer, so no vibe inside. Decided to seat outside and there was just another couple having drinks. So, total of only three tables had customers. It took more than 10 minutes for someone to come acknowledge us. We asked for two drinks. After almost 20 minutes I had to go inside to ask where was our order, the waiter who was conversing with the bartender says with a sarcastic smirk “oh the order will be ready in a moment”. As soon as the waiter comes back with our drinks I asked for the check. I looked at it and they charged us $12.5 US dollars per drink. We ordered 2 classic cocktails (espresso martini and a margarita). At this point, I wasn’t even going to ask about the price and just paid and left. Shame that this is supposedly the best bar for cocktails in Santo Domingo. Horrible experience.

Best place in town. Period. Every time I come to SDQ I try to stop by this place (even if I order the same drink over and over again). Ownership is amazing (Shout out to Hugo!). Service of this place has raised the bar for other places. For example, I went there today at 4PM... They told me they were closed and would open in 1hr... Cool thing here was that they served us our drinks while they were getting ready to work... APPRECIATE THIS!! Waiters are also really polite. Reader: Dare to try new things!

A strong 4 star for this little beach restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive. Be careful to stay on the front side of the menu, the back side gets expensive. I recommend the Ensalada Nova. Quite unique and tasty twist to a ceviche. Take a really nice ceviche and add seaweed on the top and a tasty sauce drizzled all over. The tacos were pretty good too.

We came here looking to enjoy a nice meal and were seated at a cabana. We sat there for almost 15 minutes without anyone greeting us, bringing menus, or even acknowledging we were there. It was just me and my boyfriend, and we felt completely ignored. Eventually, a woman came over and abruptly asked, “What do you want?” I told her we hadn’t even received menus yet, so we didn’t know what to order. She came back with an attitude and told us we had to pay $100 just to sit there, which made no sense—especially since no one had mentioned that policy beforehand and we were clearly there to eat. What made the situation worse was seeing her be friendly and welcoming to another family nearby who spoke Spanish. The difference in how we were treated was very noticeable. I ended up calling my mom, who I’m visiting, and she was able to understand what the staff was saying. She told us to leave, because based on what was said, they clearly weren’t being respectful toward us as visitors from the U.S. As we were leaving, we saw the same woman laughing with another staff member—it honestly felt like we were being mocked. This experience was disappointing and disrespectful, and I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting from the U.S.

Clean and airy restaurant in a nice location at Bavaro Beach, Bibijagua section ni front of the beach. Food is very mediocre: tasteless cod croquettes, superhard calamari fried with a very thick breading, pulpo a la gallega very soft and without salt and without paprika🙄. And at least 2-3 times more expensive than other good restaurants in the area. Would recommend only for drinks. Skip the food.
Mario M — Google review
Worst seafood we have ever tried. We ordered their "parrillada a la brasa" (3.500 dominican pesos = $59) expecting grilled seafood and fish. Instead, we got burned, raw and "dirty" food (mussels had something that felt like sand and weren't cleaned before cooking). We just enjoyed the shrimp (halfway pealed). The salmon was raw and the "lobster" only had good meat in the tail, the rest was black like rotten meat (not burned, the calamari was the one a bit burned). I never leave a review, but this "dish" felt like an insult knowing that it costs $59.

Nova Beach Club in Punta Cana exceeded my expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning beachfront atmosphere. The fish fingers and tacos were absolute must-tries - fresh, flavorful, and served with a delightful presentation. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of exceptional, catering to our every need with a smile. Whether you're looking for a relaxing day by the beach or a delicious meal with a view, Nova Beach Club is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I’ve been here so many time’s including celebrating my birthday, it’s 2nd September and Hurricane season so it’s typically quiet just now, we have also had an eruption of thick seaweed so difficult to swim, they are trying to clean it up but it’s mostly a massive manual job. In the height of the summer break it’s fantastic, iff you come by car it’s 4 pesos and that’s returned off you eat .

This place charged $1,000 pesos each for my boy and I along with the two girls we were there with for a super slow, I mean EMPTY, Thursday night and that wasn’t the real issue. Security, in particular an older dark skin man with glasses and short white/greyish hair, working alongside a female security with a shape up and pony tail, after the first set of doors once security outside (aggressively patted us near our crotch area) went for another “search” and reached directly for my private. If it wasn’t for me saying something and reacting as his hands were near my private area, I can only assume this perverted old man was trying something. Highly DO NOT recommend this place and my homie and I are currently looking into what actions we can take because the searches by both male security personnel were extremely invasive and inappropriate. No where else we had been all week in DR had searched like that. Not even the Casinos.
Joel M — Google review
The place is abusive to foreigners, this was the price I paid for a hookah but then we found out from the local people who were at the club and they told us that was not the real price.
Andres L — Google review
Nice place but they play almost no bachata, salsa, and merengue only urban music
Street ( — Google review
This place makes enough money to buy metal detectors but they love touching your nuts here. Also, if you get bottle service you still have to pay the cover fee. Hosts are great and attentive but the pit master is overbearing - the guy was next to me the whole night smh very strange
Oscar M — Google review
If you are looking for a dance floor this is not the place. The cover charge was cheap at 300 Dominican pesos per person. People seem nice but it all comes at a price; if someone walks you to the bathroom voluntarily they will be waiting with their hand out, they try to charge ridiculous money to non D.R. citizens for V.I.P. tables do not serve all types of top shelf. I was uncomfortable with people continuously having their hand out in the club, initially the staffing for security seemed safe but they all work for tips so it’s pretty annoying. The inside of the establishment is decent but too much sitting and not enough space for dancing.
Jen M — Google review
The place itself is very good, no doubt one of the best place in town, but the security guards are the problem. They will try to grab as much money as possible from you, and if you don't pay, they will start to harrassment. One of the security guards even indicated, that if you don't pay, he will hit you before you leave. It's a shame, such a nice place but atmosphere spoiled by security guards. Be careful is my recommendation.
Jitesh W — Google review
This place is usually very crowded, if you didn't reserved a table the staff is gonna treat you like if you were begging for alcohol. The music is mainly dembow, and reggaeton and some house music.

Playa Chiquita is a charming and serene beach spot, perfect for unwinding with a refreshing drink while enjoying the soothing sounds of the waves and live music as the sun sets. It's considered a hidden gem, offering a beautiful and calm environment for relaxation, swimming, and sunbathing. The beach is small but picturesque, providing fantastic views and breathtaking sunsets.
Love this tiny beach. Secluded and no vendors bothering you constantly to buy something. You need a beach umbrella here if you don't want to get roasted by the caribbean sun.
Ralph T — Google review
A nice beach, but make sure you bring something to cover yourself from the sun 😅.
Jonardi L — Google review
Small secluded beach. Go at low tide so there is more beach. Torrential rain washed away a lot of the sand so it's a big drop from the access point to the sand/water. From the access if you work your way across to the left there is a relatively easy climb down. Very pretty. Looks dangerous with strong waves and sharp volcanic rocks so take due care.

El Clandestino is a hidden gem in Santiago, offering a unique and intimate nightlife experience. The bar's cozy setting with low ceilings and plush sofas creates an atmosphere reminiscent of a private apartment party where young trendsetters gather. It specializes in Mezcal-based drinks, making it the go-to spot for lovers of Mexican culture. The bar's name truly reflects its secretive nature, as it provides a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons to unwind without any worries.
This place makes fabulous crepes. I mean, they are balanced, guy knows his thing. In Santiago there’s no other place.

(Translated by Google) An incredible place to have a good time, the theme directly linked to the name of the place makes it something exciting and different, also the creativity in games and days of special activities give it a very good point of grace to break with what we would understand as routine for any kind of bar. It is necessary to make a reservation to enter the place since it is somewhat small but that only makes it, in my opinion, even more exclusive and interesting. Make sure you reserve and that the group is very punctual so that everyone can enter together since they usually do not let people pass unless the group is full. Congo Bár Punta Cana is a popular spot located next to Coco Bongo Punta Cana on Barcelo Avenue, near Boulevard Turistico del Este and Coco Loco Street. It's known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse music selection, featuring a mix of American and local/Spanish tunes. As it's situated adjacent to Coco Bongo, it tends to get crowded with guests from the neighboring venue.
(Translated by Google) The disco is directly adjacent to the Coco Bongo and all guests from the Coco Bongo essentially have to go through the disco area. This is why it can get extremely crowded. :) I was there a total of 3 times. Unfortunately it was very empty once, but the music and atmosphere were still great. A mix of American music and local/Spanish. The second time I was there it was very crowded and they played mostly Spanish music. The atmosphere was great. The third time it was also packed and only Spanish music was played again. Drink prices are around 6 euros for a gin and tonic, which is OK as it tastes good. However, the fact that you constantly have to pay for everything directly and then sometimes have to wait 5-10 minutes if you pay by card is not that great and takes away your partying mood. I would have even drunk more if I didn't have to constantly wait in line to pay for drinks. ;) What really needs to be reconsidered, however, is the closing time. Why does the disco end at 3 a.m. even though the place is full and the mood is boiling? I can understand that you end on time when it's empty or no one is drinking anything, but if the disco area is still full and there are a lot of guests and the atmosphere is great, why does the music still turn off straight away at 3 a.m. on the weekend? That's too bad. A little more flexibility would be desirable here. :) All in all, definitely worth the experience. The DJ is great (but please also accept music requests ;)) and when it's not that crowded, there are also women running around selling schnapps. But be careful, 5 dollars per schnapps and that for 1cl. ;) In return there is intimate touching from the ladies. jjj By the way, it would be nice if the schnapps was at least cold here. Unfortunately, warm schnapps is not my thing. ;) But as I said, 5 stars because I really liked it there and I will definitely come back. :)

Alright, once in Punta Cana, I felt I had to at least check out the bar—because there was no way I was paying a $95 entrance fee for the nightclub. We got lured in with the promise of free drinks, but when we saw what was actually on offer—mystery-brand hard liquor we had never heard of—we quickly opted for a cold Presidente beer and paid instead. The bar itself was a cool experience—great music, a nice hangout spot, and a lively atmosphere. Worth checking out once, but definitely not a place I'd return to.

Worst experience ever and complete rip off! We paid for skipping the line and had open bar but we wanted to celebrate my friends wedding and got tables for an additional 500$ per table. They never provided any service, ice was melted in the glasses. Then they came back and wanted to charge more or take a bottle away. The show was mediocre and really not worth the money. Would avoid it if I were you.

Das Witzigste war, dass ein Futzi nach einer Stunde ankam und meinte, ich müsse 500 Pesos Eintritt zahlen! 😅😅😅
