Beaches
Playa Punta Popy, located in Las Terrenas, is a picturesque beach with clear shallow waters and coconut palms. It's a popular spot for kite surfing due to its perfect wind and wave conditions suitable for both beginners and pros. The beach offers a relaxing atmosphere with nearby cafes and restaurants, making it an ideal place to spend the day or enjoy stunning sunsets. Visitors can also rent beach chairs or simply lie on their towels under the shade of palm trees.
It’s a really nice beach. I’ve been twice and always a good experience. There’s parking, food and drinks available upon request, and just a peaceful atmosphere overall. I was initially a few feet down the road and in that spot the waves were a bit rough, so I decided to walk a few minutes down to Playa Punta Popy and the water was a lot calmer. I could get in with no issues.
Francini R — Google review
Playa Punta Popy is a vibrant and lively beach located at the eastern end of Las Terrenas, known for its colorful mix of kite surfers, beach bars, and palm-lined scenery. The water is shallow and clear, great for swimming and water sports, while the constant breeze makes it one of the top kiteboarding spots in the area. Along the beachfront, you’ll find several small restaurants and lounges offering everything from Dominican seafood to cocktails and smoothies. The vibe here is youthful and energetic during the day, but it calms down beautifully at sunset. Whether you're looking for a relaxed beach day, a casual drink by the water, or an afternoon of adventure, Punta Popy blends tropical beauty with the social buzz of Las Terrenas life.
Davide R — Google review
Punta Popi Beach in Los Terrenas is a beautiful, peaceful spot with a little something for everyone. The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming, and there are plenty of shaded areas to escape the sun. If you’re on the point, you’ll get a nice breeze, which keeps things comfortable. On the eastern side, the wind picks up a bit, making it a great spot for kitesurfing. No big waves here—just a relaxed, scenic beach that’s perfect for unwinding or enjoying the ocean in whatever way you like.
Leighton C — Google review
Nice beach if you’re walking distance there. I went for convenience but there are other beaches if you can drive. There wasn’t vendors for food & drinks sold here unless you wanted a large plate. Lots of locals go on weekends for a day trip. Beach was a bit crowded on Sundays.
Jim M — Google review
Nice, but there was a sandstorm that made it a bit uncomfortable for us. During August I came and it was BEAUTIFUL! The water was warm, blue and so much fun! It really depends on the season.
Kenia L — Google review
A great place to hang out! You can rent beach chairs (250-300 pesos each), or just lie on your towel. Punta Popy is full of palm trees, so you can always find shade. Because it’s a point, you can swim on the east or west side, depending on the waves. The sand is nice, and you can walk right into the water on pure sand (no stones). There is often a massage person there (Lourdes), who does a great massage for $40us/hour. On windy days, you can watch the many kite-surfers who come out to learn or jump the waves… great entertainment. There are restaurants nearby to get lunch or a drink and if you leave your towel on the chair, it will be held for you. It’s a great place to go, as there is always somewhere good to hang out, no matter the weather (not rain 😂).
Krista P — Google review
Access to boat rentals by the beach, many restaurants and friendly people :)
Brandon J — Google review
This might be one of the best beaches in the area, because is never crowded, water super clear, the right temperature, and there is never waves. Recommend. Bring some food and enjoy the day and possibly sunset! These photos were probably about 1/4 of a mile from the point. So there's no need to stay in the point. Scout an empty area and you will be all set!

El Mosquito Art Bar is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike, thanks to its prime location near the ocean and vibrant atmosphere. This bar offers live music, making it a great place to combine dining with entertainment. Visitors praise the quality of service, food, and drinks as well as the cozy ambiance.
This place is dope. I just loved it and enjoyed it way much 🕺🏽

Incredible cocktail bar! By far the best in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. The food is delicious as well, we have been 3 times so far working our way through the menu & specialty cocktails!
Sergio E — Google review
Unfortunately, our experience at this bar was once again very disappointing. This is actually the third time I’ve experienced the same biased and classist treatment here. Today, I decided to give them another chance because I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere but I regret it a thousand times. The staff shows clear favoritism toward certain guests, treating others with slow, dismissive service as if they’re not worth their attention. They’ve truly let the good vibes go to their heads, and it shows. Sadly, this will be my last visit.
Ambar P — Google review
Cool bar with nice atmosphere. Cocktails are delicious and the staff is friendly. A bit disappointed with my dish, but the rest of our party enjoyed the food so 4+ stars instead of 5. But anyway, this is one of the best places in the area for sure!
Natalia P — Google review
I have never had a worse experience at a bar in my life. I came here with friends expecting to have a good time, and for the first hour everything seemed fine — we ordered drinks, chatted, and spent money like any other customer. Then, completely out of nowhere, a staff member approached me and told me I had to leave because I was wearing Crocs. Let me be clear: no one mentioned any kind of dress code when I walked in. I had already been there for an hour, ordered multiple drinks, and was minding my own business. If there truly was a “no Crocs” policy, shouldn’t that have been addressed at the door — not after they’ve happily taken my money for an hour? The way it was handled was unprofessional, humiliating, and made me feel completely unwelcome. I’ve been to bars and restaurants all over the world, and I’ve never once been singled out over something as petty as footwear, especially after already being seated and served. The staff’s attitude was rude and dismissive, and they clearly had no interest in resolving the situation with any kind of courtesy or common sense. If you care about being treated with basic respect, avoid this place. There are plenty of other bars such as Etno and Babylon around the area that will appreciate your business regardless of whether you’re wearing Crocs, sneakers, or whatever else. This was an embarrassing and frustrating experience, and I won’t be returning!
Juan — Google review
The place looks cozy. The bar is very cool with loads of different spirits. Very were on a budget trip so we only had a drink there. (From what we saw they served really small portions and the food is really overpriced). On some of the tables the chairs are too tall for the table so you sit a bit weirdly. But for a special occasion it would probably be a nice place to spend the evening :)
Veronica S — Google review
One of my favorite bars in Las Terrenas, service is super quick, coctails great, there is live dj music and the atmosphere makes you want to come back. Mojito costs 250RDS (+service and tax)

ETNO Beach Club is a modern and relaxed lounge located on the beach, offering a friendly atmosphere, good music, and excellent food and drinks. The club provides a beautiful view and outdoor seating where visitors can spend hours enjoying live music. It's an ideal spot for a nice lunch or dinner with open beach area dining. Despite some slow service complaints, the overall ambiance, menu variety, and reasonable prices make it an excellent choice for those looking to unwind by the sea.
It’s a great club! 👌 Good vibe 😊 good music 🎶 good drinks 🍹 Always good DJ 📀 A kind and cool staff 😉 I like to come here 💃😘 I recommend if you come in Las Terrenas 💁‍♀️

The location is lovely, service was not overly friendly, but was efficient. The food was CRAP. I asked for a chicken sandwich without a bun, in Spanish. When it was delivered to our table, they repeated, "sin pan", which means without bread, BUT it was on a bun 😔 🤣🤦 And I've never had such dry chicken in my LIFE. I fed it to the beach dog by our table, and I'm honestly surprised he ate it. Overpriced. No bueno. Walk on by. Not worth stopping in

Great place. Good service and good food. It turned into a dance club after dinner. Very good music and it was super busy. Iwe had a good time.

My Choice for a chill out lounge (morning hours, Incl. Breakfast) at the beach. Modern, relaxed Atmosphere, good music (house) and very friendly staff. The Prices are good, considering the near by Restaurants. Taxes are included, so no surprising Bills. Quality of food and drinks is very good. I ordered Coffee, Maracuja Juice and a fruit bowl. For Lunch, i had Canastas del mar ( Fried plantain and sea food ) and Yucca fries. Free and good WiFi. usb Charging Stations. And all this with a beaufiful view.

Really like this place. Friendly, warm atmosphere with good live music. Great outdoor seating, where you can spend a few hours. Had dinner one night and was pleasantly surprised! Interesting menu choices and tasty meals. Wasn’t impressed with the DJ, however, as he just laid a heavy beat on all the music, rather than being creative with his music selections.

We just arrived today and visited this amazing place. To our surprise, it offers the perfect combination: the best music, the best food, and the best view all in one spot. It’s an experience we’ve never had before! If we could, we’d give 6 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended!

This is in my opinion the best restaurant in Las Terrenas but also one of the best restaurants in have ever been to. The seafood is all extremely fresh and comes with a lot of grilled veggies and delicious sauces. This spot is on the beach so the views and atmosphere is unmatched. Always with an amazing breeze and cute lighting this would be a perfect date night spot. Highly recommended!!!!

We ate here in September 2018. It made such an impression on us that when we came back to DR in September 2024, it was the first place we went to eat! Food and people are still as wonderful as we remembered. Lots of nice updates in the past years. Juices and house-made hot sauce are DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked burger and chicken, lovely salad, and the fries here are superb. The on-beach spot is right next to the fishermen and fish market, which is fantastic, too! You can walk right in off the beach and eat amid the daily activities of the fishermen.

This place is a gem. The ceviche was amazing and big. The beer is cold as it gets. The service is warm and professional. And you’re literally on the beach.

10/10 This intimate restaurant on the ocean is made only more incredible by the woman who hosts it, she had us smiling the entire night. It was an experience full of humour, variety, and ofcourse fabulous food and wine! We were able to choose our catch of the day fresh before it was cooked which made the experience that much more special. If you enjoy fresh seafood and a sunset this is the place to be!

La Terrasse is a charming French-style restaurant located in the fisherman's village of Las Terrenas. The elegant decor reflects the owner Denise's French influence, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere. While the service is usually top-notch, it can slow down during busy times. The Victorian-style restaurant offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu with consistently good dishes, such as delicious octopus and specials.
My favorite restaurant in las terrenas, delicious French dishes and great service. 10/10

We visited them in the off-season the waiter was so friendly and lovely. We had the octopus as a starter, dorado as a main - Both great!

Delicious, unique dishes that did not disappoint. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. We sat right on the beach, listening to waves crash as we enjoyed our meal. Everything we had was fresh and well made. The servers were very attentive and friendly, giving us their best recommendations and undivided attention. Overall, it was very reasonably priced.

I did not have a good experience here at all. My family and I came here to spend our last evening in Las Terrenas. It took almost two hours for our food to be served and we had small children with us. It really ruined our last night. When I asked to speak to the manager all the employees dismissed my request and didn’t offer any compensation nor resolution for our terrible experience. Its service like this that leaves a really bad taste. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I resent coming here.

I like this place , for any reason - morning coffee , dinner or just some cocktails with friends - service is good - not so fast , sometimes you need to ask 2 times (normal from RD ) , but always welcoming - coffee is good ( they have also alternative milk ), not the best, but still ok - I like their desserts ( wish they would have some healthy options in the future ☺️) - I like they options for dinner - definitely can recommend fish in coconut souse , grilled veggies - location is amazing - you can sit near the ocean , with shadow and nice music 👍 - they accept payment by card 👍

The food was all great! The servers and bartenders are nice but the service is usually very slow... I love coming here but the staff just needs to be a bit more attentive...
Rick — Google review
The shrimp ceviche, while palatable, featured shrimp smaller than anticipated, more akin to river shrimp in size. My companion's steak, despite the waiter's assurance of a one-inch thickness, arrived at less than half that; although satisfactory, it fell short of expectations.

We recently got married in Las Terrenas and while exploring the area the year before, we stumbled upon el Loro as it was near our AirB&B. From the first time we stopped by, the staff was friendly, attentive and very accommodating including finding ways to serve us breakfast after regular service hours. The food was always fresh and delicious becoming our default go-to while we were there. Therefore, when it came time to decide on a place to bring our guests the day after our wedding, The Loro was a no-brainer. We hosted our post-wedding brunch at El Loro last month and it was a fantastic experience! Alice Bunetto was incredibly easy to work with and was super open to our ideas. Since most of our guests were not Dominican, we wanted to treat them to something different and worked with her team to create a version of the Dominican Chimichurri (a traditional street sandwich, not the Argentine sauce) among other treats and an assortment of cocktails and beers that our guests absolutely loved. The folks at El Loro set up tables, chairs and a buffet station under the shaded side of the beach restaurant making the experience feel private and relaxing. Most of our guests stay there way after the brunch was over enjoying the bar and the beautiful beach. The Loro has become a mandatory stop for us whenever we are in Las Terrenas!

The single-lane dirt roads lead to small French cafes and offer stunning views of palm trees, beaches, and the turquoise ocean. A short walk inland reveals motorbike-filled streets where locals go about their daily lives. Playa Las Terrenas, stretching along the town’s central area, is easily accessible and perfect for those wanting a beach day without straying far. While it's more urban and can be busier than other nearby beaches, it still maintains the laid-back charm that defines the region. The water is generally calm and inviting, ideal for swimming or paddleboarding, and you're just steps away from shops, restaurants, and cafes. It’s also a great spot to observe daily life—fishermen, vendors, and locals enjoying the sea. If you want a convenient beach experience close to all amenities, Playa Las Terrenas delivers comfort, accessibility, and authentic coastal energy.

If you're lucky enough to be able to drive into the beach parking lot then it's a great place to be! No parking fee and a great walking beach in either direction. Lots of beach bars/restaurants to choose from and the water was nice but not very clear. Not as many touristy shops to walk to as I had hoped and a bit chaotic going into the town itself, but overall a very nice beach.

I was single male touist seeking dance. I am experience dancer but not bachata which is what they played there. The 3-4 nights I went there, a bunch of single tourist girls( with minimal dance skills) showed up with their 4-5 instructors. These guys had the laddy's heads spinning and they had no interest in me. Couples had a good time there. There were a few prostitues that I had to contend with. I tried dancing with them but they expected me to leave with them so I had to stop that.

It is possible to dance with someone from Italy, Germany, Brazil. DR, and then Israel all in one night. The energy is pure and the vibe is refreshing and something you should not miss. The best hotels on the beach within a short walk.

Great music & entertainment! But the worse restrooms that a night club can have. Los baños muy sucios y no hay agua para lavarse las manos. Great atmosphere and tons of Salsa & Bachata! I hope the owners invest to renovate and fix those restrooms!
ALBERTO G — Google review
Open air disco/bar plays a variety of latin music with the usual array of bachata, salsa, merengue and reggaeton. Great DJ and reasonable prices for drinks. The action doesn't start until late.... around 11pm. The size of crowd varies according to the tourist season. Occasionally they will have animators who put on a dance show and will round up members of the audience to participate. Can be lots of fun when tourists are in town and the place is almost full. Nest of all, NO COVER CHARGE! 😊👍

If you're looking to dive into the vibrant nightlife of Las Terrenas, Gaia Disco & Nightclub is a must-visit destination. This upscale and trendy venue spans three levels, offering an elegant atmosphere complete with its own sushi bar. It's the perfect spot to sip cocktails and dance the night away to a diverse selection of music while soaking in the lively ambiance.
The owner is fun, the staff is friendly, and it gets really busy and jumping later in the night when it's open on weekends.

Loved everything about it. My daughter spotted it as we we looking for something after curfew. I'd call it a speak easy if it were a different 20's. Food and atmosphere were fantastic, up a notch because if the clandestine nature of which I experienced it. Food wise...an italian sushi joint? Confusing, but good.

Trendy crowd. Nice ambience. It's centrally located. This place is top rated for night life. I didn't have a drink so I can't share on that aspect. Free before 10 pm.
Latoya E — Google review
Small place with a good decor. Oddly the male employees are friendly and accommodating where the female employees are just the opposite. The female employees had a difficult time bringing the change back that was due.

USA. Absolute terrible service. Literally the only person working was the sushi maker. She was fantastic! The rest of the waiters and waitresses did nothing. The sushi was good and fair priced. The chocolate was awful.

Place is very small. Hardly any room to dance is if there are something like more than 10 people. But good overall6

Upscale trendy disco on a beautiful beach front location. On a Sunday night they were pretty empty even at midnight. However their pre-midnight 100 RD peso Cuba Libre drink special made it worthwhile hanging out there

I have been doing a lot of research on Las Terrenas night clubs because I am going to be in Samana for my birthday. Gaia Disco & Night Club is the one I found to be the most elegant with good looking people and great music. I am planning to be there next year in January and this is by far the best place I have seen. I grew up in NYC and lived in Miami, and know what I am looking in a night Club. This place looks amazing!! Can't wait to be there!

XO Las Terrenas Bar Restaurant offers a unique and enjoyable experience with its stunning views, wide selection of wines, and delectable cuisine. The friendly staff is accommodating, and the menu caters to various dietary needs. Guests can savor flavorful ceviche, succulent steaks, and delightful desserts like tiramisu while enjoying the beachfront ambiance.
Whenever we are in Las Terrenas we stop here for Tiramisu and cappuccino. This time we also ordered cheeseburger sliders and fried calamari’s. Food was delicious. Table by the beach with a great view. The staff here is always friendly and attentive. The only draw back was the smoker sitting next to us. No fault of the restaurant though.
Leonardo M — Google review
Among the best restaurants for sunset views in las Terrenas we found, albeit cloudy that night. We loved the spinach ravioli, red sangria (stacked with fruit!,) and the tiramisu. Good lighting, background music. Great service!
Jennifer F — Google review
Service was great! Food was good. Drinks good! Highly recommend popping in at sunset for dinner. The staff are super friendly and kind.
Shane M — Google review
Great views and an extensive wine list. I’d like to give them more stars but this was not one of our best experiences. One of the best wine selections in town though so if you just want wine this is a great place. To start I ordered the calamari which was good and my wife being gluten free attempted to order the three things in appetizer list she could eat but they were out of all the items. The waitress came back three times to let us know. The wait staff were super friendly and sweet it was not their fault. I ordered the home made ravioli and she ordered the tuna steak. She likes hers well the waitress kept telling her no medium three times my wife’s said well. The tuna came out pretty much rare. That’s how I like it and good thing because my ravioli never came. My wife ate the outside of the tuna that was cooked better and I the rest. We have had great food in Las Terrenas this was not one of them. We have noticed a trend most of the foreign owned locations where food is obviously chef inspired and presented seem to be the most consistent. I’m not sure but my guess is XO is locally owned with less oversite of the menu and service. We would go back but just for the wine and the view.

Amazing food, well priced and the service is much faster than the average! We recommend the tataki and the seafood cassollette 👌 Everyone had a blast and we are right by the sea. We’d definitely come back.

Huge portion of pasta, sauce was nice. The 3 mini-burgers were good (if they were a bit more cooked that would be perfect) and the fried calamaris were great too. Good cocktails as well. Would reccomend!

I recently had the chance to dine at a fantastic French beachfront restaurant and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We started with the garlic calamari which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Next up, we tried the fried fish which was fresh and flaky. The batter was crispy, and it was served with tostones. But the star of the show was definitely the fried seafood platter. It was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds! The platter was brimming with a variety of seafood. Each piece was perfectly fried and seasoned. The restaurant also had excellent views of the beach, which made for a beautiful ambiance. The service was top-notch, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a delicious seafood meal with a beautiful view. All in all, it was a great experience, and I can't wait to go back!

The restaurant La Ola is a welcoming French owned eatery where you can enjoy local dishes such as tuna tartar and hot chocolate made with black vodka. The mixologist is excellent and the value for money unbeatable, so if you're in the area definitely check it out!
Wow! Yum, Yum. Fresh, delicious food! I enjoyed Poke Vegan Bowl, with fresh vegetables, a rose wine, and a dessert of ice cream, rum, coffee, and creme. Top notch! Fantastic!! And a view of the ocean at sunset...

I was looking forward to eat in this restaurant a lot, we even came to the area just because of this restaurant. At the end it was little disappointment. The staff were really friendly and came to ask if everything is okay - and it was good, but.. The poke bowl was more like a salad than hawaiian poke, with lot of lettuce and a bit of rice, and fish completely over covered with sesame. Furthermore we waited quite a long time for food and you can only pay in cash.
Lida B — Google review
Very nice, casual place. Based on French food, at least some of the staff clearly were French, most of the staff spoke French, and the great majority of diners were also French. >> Right on the seafront road, views of beach and boats bobbing at anchor. So obviously, this French-based reataurant is really FRENCH!! >> And I applaud the excellent service we received. We had two great meals -- a mahi dish and a beef filet with truffle sauce, and they were quite good. Money well spent. >> The chocolade with mint (hot chocolate) makes for a fine after-dinner treat. Extremely potent!! Reasonably priced, but not cheap either. For the two of us 2324 DR Pesos with boxed water but no alcohol. Seating is limited, and the place gets popular about 8 pm on weekdays. We had a table reserved at 7 pm and had our choice of tables. I thought it would be a thin crowd, but at 7:30 pm it started filling in, and by 8:15 there was a standing line waiting for tables. Suggest arriving before 7:15 or call ahead for a reservation -- or plan on waiting 30+ minutes for a table. We will eat here again!!

Yet another French owned restaurant but the surprise was good! French style revisited local dishes: the cook is a Dominican, so it's a safe bet. The value and quantity for money is excellent and the service is beyond expectations. I recommend this place and it deserves to be more popular! (visited Feb. 2020)

Fantastic restaurant , the poke bowl as delicious and they served my husband an entire octopus with wonderful presentation. The service was excellent, the owner was friendly, when I complimented their potted plants he gave me a tour of his herb garden an showed me the mint I had enjoyed in my mojito. Fellow Canadians and travellers; do not stay in this hotel. Savoy/ Niza. I found cockroaches in my room as well as bugs in my sheets. I don’t believe the carpets have been cleaned in years. The paint is chipping off the ceiling and walls. The rooms smell like mold. Their is no hot water. The disco plays music until 5am so with all the other issues and the pounding music until 5 am this is not up to Canadian standards.

As someone who loves eating ‘pechuga a la pollo’ (chicken breast) and rice and beans. This was hands down the best one I’ve had. So flavorful that I would get this again! I did order this to go but the atmosphere is nice, it’s in the sand and by the beach so it’s a very serene place to eat

We were curious about the great reviews of this place so we were compelled to eat here of course. We were delighted! They cook very tasty seafood. Highly recommended!
Jonathan R — Google review
The location is hard to beat, being located directly on the beach. I enjoyed the main dish I had, fresh (re: the waitress and taste), Filet de Dorado (aka mahi-mahi or dolphinfish) salsa coco, grilled with a coconut cream sauce (again re: the waitress). The fish had an excellent flavor and was cooked right, moist and tender, but not over cooked. They also gave me gratis a very tasty appetizer, Arepitas de Bacalao, which I gather (the menu was in Spanish and French) are codfish fritters (2). My quibbles are that the french fries were pretty greasy and not crisp. My Coco Loco cocktail (served in a coconut shell, which I thought was cool), was more watery and not as creamy as others I've had. I'm not sure I'd call the meal a great value, at least by DR standards. However, one should consider it's excellent location. No biggie for me, but if you have questions, it would help a lot to speak Spanish (or, I suppose, French). The restaurant is indeed a good place to watch the sun set. It is also kid and dog friendly. I feel like I'd give it another try when I'm in the mood for a bit of a spluge.

Fresh, delicious, great service and ambiance. We had tostones, the catch of the day (a la plancha and fried), and the shrimp with pineapple and honey. Everything was delicious and made fresh, I would definitely recommend!

This place has terrible food. Worst dining experience in las Terennas . The ceviche tough and tasteless, the food is awful and just everything from starters to main. I had an allergy and mentioned this to them, the food came back and had everything that I had asked specifically to not have because of my allergy. If you go here, maybe go for drinks but for a quality dinner go next door! This is a tourist trap for sure and those that have rated it high do not know what the taste of quality food is.

El Mosquito Boutique Hotel, located in the beautiful Playa Bonita area, offers a cozy and clean stay with a friendly and efficient staff. The hotel provides a fantastic spot to relax under the palm trees by the beach, offering authentic drinks and local beers all day. The on-site restaurant has a great selection of high-quality food at reasonable prices. Guests can enjoy live music and a vibrant atmosphere at Bar Lounge El Mosquito.
Very beautiful hotel, the location is simply stunning, and the beach is probably my number one for a very long time. Downside: the service — it’s reasonably quick, but the waiters seem extremely unfriendly and not welcoming at all. I would still come back nonetheless.
Antoine L — Google review
This place is great to visit for the day, but not so much to spend the night in as the rooms are overpriced for the comfort they provide. The beds are uncomfortable, the room layout is impractical and cramped, the furniture, finishes and furnishings have seen better days. The food at the restaurant is not that good and even though there are many items on the menu, everything seems like variations of the same things. The drinks are good, though, and the location is beautiful. The garden with its landscaping and outdoor tables is really cool, and after sunset the string lights give the place a great atmosphere. I would go back to spend the day, but not to stay.
Winton D — Google review
Went for the restaurant for now. If in Samana terrenas, this should be a stop you shouldn't miss. The atmosphere, beach, FOOD and service are spot on. DJ had the moment going so well, I thought i had arrived in heaven, wanted to burn my passport and stay forever. If your in the area, you have to Go and thank me later. Their doing a fantastic job at this place, I will come back and stay at their hotel, prices are great.

We have been coming to Playa Bonita since 2019 and the service has been worst with every visit. The staff is not welcoming, one of the them was hiding behind a post on his phone. We asked for shrimp mofongo and were given mangu. When we told the waiter he said why didn’t you return it and I was like I don’t return food. I was like instead of being apologetic and saying he was going to ask the chef that is what he said?? I don’t usually write reviews but tonight they really ticked me off.
Anthony C — Google review
It was really good, I didn't stay at the hotel, but I stayed all day in the restaurant ant the beach chairs and it was super, the service was excellent the food amazing really good tasting and interesting dinner plates and the restaurant is beautiful and next to the beach and the sunset is simply perfect. Tip: the place is a little bit popular so in high season you'll find dificul to find a place without a reservation. To arrive her I will recommend you arrive early and leave the car in the privete parking lot located at 500m.

This review is only for the restaurant, precisely their policies and service. On our trip to Playa Bonita Las Terrenas we have been coming to El Mosquito restaurant for 10 days the atmosphere is nice and the food is good. We typically we get a table family of 5, have lunch, enjoy the beach and then we have dinner. Today we decided to come for breakfast and lunch. We first took a table outside but it started to rain as they brought us our breakfast and we moved to a table inside. We had our breakfast and wanted to go to the beach and we were told by the manager that we had to vacate our table because it was only for people eating. We told them that we just had breakfast at 10:30 am and will have lunch later on. The manager was not having it. We told him that today wed July 30 the restaurant is empty, and that plenty of tables were available, I also told him that if it became full and he needed the table before lunchtime we would happily vacate it. He told us again that we needed to move to the beach and come back to the table at lunchtime. We asked to be moved back to our first table outside since the rain had stopped but he continued with the same logic. Instead of making a bigger scene my family and I decided to just leave and go to another place. Now the service part of my review. The service is very slow and some of the staff members are rude and simply do not care much for the guests. Some of the staff members are very friendly and helpful but some others are just awful. Takes a long time to get acknowledged when you take a table, drinks and food take forever even at low capacity at the restaurant. We usually can get past all that but not after today. I doubt that I will ever come back to this place and if you do just be prepared to deal with nasty management and poor service at the restaurant. It s a shame that such a nice place is run by amateurs. Train your staff well and correct the ridiculous policies .

One of the best options in Las Terrenas. GREAT food and ambient. Very well maintained and beach is just in front of you with good sand space
Juan P — Google review
I've been coming here for over 5 years. The food is still good, but the service has gone downhill fast. My last three visits were terrible. Most recently, we waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged, another 10-15 to get a server, and still had no drinks after waiting 10+ more minutes — so we left. A previous visit, we waited 25 minutes just for the check. At these prices, I expect much better. Sadly, this was my last visit. If they don’t fix the service, it’s going to hurt their business.

Mini Market Los Principes is a beachside gem offering affordable drinks and a lively atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy local beers at a fraction of the price charged in bars, all while soaking up the moonlit ambiance. The market provides ample space for socializing, singing, and dancing, attracting both locals and expats. Additionally, it boasts a convenient location near a liquor store and a fish market selling fresh seafood.
outstanding little store convenient nice staff
Lawrence ( — Google review
Yes this is a mini market but it’s right on the beach. There is also a liquor store across the street. There are chairs tables music and people come to drink here and socialize all the time. There are many guys and girls if you know what I mean. There is a fish market here too on the beach they sell fresh fish in coolers. If you want to drink with local folk and spend a little money you go here.
360 R — Google review
Ok place because of the location on the beach where their is a fish market every morning at about 7. Go for the fresh catch of the day. Pay attention to which fisherman the local chefs are buying from
Frank D — Google review
A mini market with great prices. We stayed across the street and we call them for everything from ice bags to dishwasher detergent. The sell all kinds of drinks and the best part is that they are next to the beach 👌
Johanna E — Google review
Great market, always out of presidente normal. There is always a crowd around. Music is loud and young locals are dancing or chatting. It is the only colmado on the sea side and behind it is a fish bazzar which is ususally empty in the evenings. You can enjoy the sunset from th3 beach while having cheap cold beer.
Sese M — Google review
Best mini market on the beach,,friendly staff,,and price are same for local and tourist customers,,and good place to enjoy a cold drink Has got to be best mini market in town With prices up everywhere Still very reasonable at this mini market

Are you prepared for several extraordinary days filled with everlasting memories? And this is the best seafood market in the Dominican Republic - everything is fresh and the best price! Here you can buy: fish, shrimp, lobsters, crabs, octopus, squid... But special attention is the huge selection of shellfish. Oysters and everything else. Be sure to come here in the morning! (Translated by Google) This small beach is located in the "Pueblo de los Pescadores" (Fishermen's Village) in the central area of Terrenas. It is perhaps the most beautiful and characteristic beach because it embodies the simplicity of the Dominican people. The promenade is lined with coconut palms, shacks converted into restaurants along the beach, and the landing area for the fishermen's boats, which constantly supply the restaurants with fresh fish and excellent lobster. It's worth stopping at least once to enjoy the seafood specialties with the sea water lapping at your feet. Nestled in the charming Plaza Colonial of Las Terrenas, The Garage Bar is a delightful spot that captures the essence of a cozy European square. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, this bar is perfect for expats and locals alike. The owner takes pride in ensuring every detail is just right, from the delicious food to the refreshing drinks. Guests rave about the tasty dishes—especially salads that are thoughtfully prepared without overwhelming portions.
Our absolute favorite bar! The owner is VERY personable and makes sure everything is perfect. The drinks were great and the food, my God, the food was wonderful. (I had a very tasty salad that did not have five pounds of lettuce with two veggies.) Good hangout for Expats. And live entertainment!
Bryce B — Google review
This restaurant was terrible. The waitresses (two of them) seemed to have never seen the menu before and looked super confused with everything we ordered. Unsurprisingly the food that came was wrong. The replacement meal was obviously rushed with very undercooked garlic. A glass of red wine ordered became two which arrived. We told the waitress we only ordered one and she again looked super confused. Unsurprisingly when the bill came there were two glasses of red wine. My wife orders fish and chips, gooey soggy batter around gooey fish. Yuck. Luke warm fries. My daughter ordered general Tso chicken - main flavour =super strong lemon — NOT general tso. Out of 3 weeks jn DR by far the worst restaurant we went to. The live music next door was entertaining but at times way too loud and off note. Place could be amazing but they clearly don’t care. Avoid.
Leighton C — Google review
Do not go here. It is a rip-off. We went for 'happy hour' and the menu stated a good price. So we ordered from the menu given and when we went to pay the drinks were twice as much as the menu quoted. They wouldn't honor the menu price so we paid and left! Scam!
Angela R — Google review
It's a place with a very nice vibe, situated on a little, European-like square. My significant concern though is that when playing live music in the evening, they played a RUSSIAN song. Which is extremely unpleasant and triggering considering the situation. Hoping you can solve this

Nestled in the vibrant nightlife of Las Terrenas, Zafiro Lounge is a hidden gem that offers an unparalleled experience for those seeking relaxation and entertainment. With its plush, velvety seating and extensive liquor selection, this air-conditioned haven provides a stylish escape from the beach bars. The attentive staff ensures every visit feels special, often with the owner personally crafting cocktails to perfection. Whether you're enjoying lively karaoke nights or engaging trivia sessions, there's always something exciting happening at Zafiro.
Awesome speakeasy lounge, higher end bar, hidden cove literally steps from the beach. This gem is located within the nightlife area of Las Terrenas. The intimate atmosphere makes you feel like you've taken a step back in time to the Great Gatsby era. Absolutely wonderful.

Fantastic whiskey lounge in Las Terrenas. A really great selection of spirits and Barry knows quite a lot about them all. He can whip you up a great cocktail too. Tell him Les told you to try the New York Sour with cherry whiskey. Thank me later. Thanks for making my trip a special one

What an awesome place to spend a great evening, the atmosphere is very unique and feels like a NY speakeasy'ish, very happy that we found this place in las Terrenas. Also you have to try the Irish red draft beer.

Zafiro Lounge is a fantastic place to meet new people, make friends and have great time. The events nights (trivia / karaoke / whiskey tastings etc) are a lot of fun! Big thank you and shout out to Barry, Kari and the entire staff who were wonderful.

Zafiro is hands down the best lounge in town! It's the only air-conditioned spot where you can truly relax in style—think velvety, comfy chairs, a massive liquor library, and an atmosphere that’s second to none. The staff is incredibly attentive, and the owner himself often greets you with a smile and crafts your cocktail to perfection. Whether you're in the mood for fun karaoke nights, exciting trivia, or catching a game or movie on their two screens, there’s always something happening at Zafiro. Plus, you can order food from any of the nearby restaurants and enjoy it right here. Highly recommend!
Jenniffer N — Google review
Great friendly bar. The serve excellent craft beer on draught (draft), and whisky for all tastes and budgets. They also have wine by the glass, bottle beer, and well crafted cocktails. Zafiro is one of my favorite places in town.

A unique and upscale "speakeasy" in Las Terrenas where you can enjoy a great conversation, classic cocktail or a select scotch not available anywhere else, even SD. Small, cozy, classy and a break from the mayhem.
Tony B — Google review
This was my first time, but certainly won’t be the last! Feels a little bit like being in New York, right in the middle of Las Terrenas, which is a nice change from all the beach bars! We went for karaoke night and had an absolute blast! Wonderful, friendly, staff and guest! Thanks for a fun night!
