Cocktails were nice. Staff recommended and give good explanations on the cocktails. As live band area was full, we were ushered upstairs to an empty room area where it was just 4 walls with pseudo Japanese decorations.

Would rate this 4.5 stars to be more exact, but there isn't that option so 5 will do! It's a bar located at the heart of Melaka that has liveband / live performance. The place is a little more on the crammed side but it's not too crammed such that you'll feel suffocated. Drinks are pretty good too and range from RM 35 to RM 50 for the cocktails. Saw that they have jugs too which you can get if you know what you like to drink and have more people. Place is nicely designed with umbrellas lining the ceiling. The bar is also connected to the outside where there are also chill sitting areas, by the Melaka River. Would say that is a nice and huge plus point of the area! Overall, would recommend visiting if you're keen to listen to some music and chill out at night. Disclaimer: I rated the food a neutral rating of 3 stars as I haven't tried them at all. Will update this again when I return and try the food :)

One of the great pleasures on this Earth is a well made cocktail. My standard for judging most places is how well they can make an old fashioned, and if they happen to make their own version of an old fashioned. So when we were in Malacca, we went to @the_old_merchant for some late night drinks and speakeasy vibes. This place is on point, I loved the live music and the bar inside, but the real treat was sitting out back by the water watching the boats and the night sky. All the drinks were amazing, but double kudos for the Made for Baba drink - their version of an old fashioned. It hit all the notes for me, tasty bourbon, cinnamon, the right amount of smoke with just a touch of bitter / sweet. Served in the right glass with a big old hunk of ice. Yay for a great drink, the perfect way to cap off a night in the Old City. Highly recommend!

Went early around 7pm. The seating outside is very comfortable and quiet. Livenband starts at 9:30 but doesn’t affect the noise level if you are seated outside. Portuguese cocktail is very good, we ordered 3 jugs.

Drinks are innovative and taste great. Ask for outdoor seat to enjoy river view. Nice and chill bar. Drinks cost around 35-40RM each.

Centuries ago, sailors would drop by a tavern to have a yo ho ho and a barrel of rum. Nowadays, to experience a similar experience in Melaka, we have the Old Merchant. This joint offers various tasty drinks to make your happy hour a memorable one. Do try the East Indies for that added oomph.

Great bar in Malacca with well designed decor and ambiance. Drinks are good, well curated and well made. They have a good selection of indoor seating as well as outdoor seats by the river. Only thing to improve is the live band they had that day. They were singing all kinds of songs across many genres and languages which not all guests would enjoy. Should just stick to a good playlist instead.

Alto Sky Lounge is in my opinion one of Malacca's proper "hidden gems". Despite being located in the heart of Hatten City/Melaka Raya, this place scarcely gets any footfall — presumably because for a venue of its character, one would likely not expect the prices here to be as reasonable as they are; and because one does not actually need to be a guest at Hatten Hotel in order to come here. This rooftop bar offers a great view of the Malacca skyline, while also having well-made drinks such as the Alto 22 cocktail (highly recommended). Nonetheless, having come here more than once, a key flaw of this place is that the service really does leave something to be desired; and the staff, polite as they are, can be rather inattentive.

It was an amazing experience. We were served and welcomed by Chelsea, Fuad and another waitress (i dont rmb her name 🥹) I believe its Amanda? But everyone was so warm and quick on their feet. Food was good. We had branzino fillet the skin was crispy. It was weekend but the restaurant wasnt crowded at all it was surprisingly very quiet. Entire ambiance was my go to. Will definitely come again!! oh and the soup was amazing too :)

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much initially from this place. However, the view of the sunset is absolutely scintillating. These 2 staff: Fuad and Chelsea were astronomical in making this service one of the best I have experienced. They were engaging in all the right ways and I could not have asked more from either. Chelsea recommended the dinner course which was great and helped to explain the menu to me in greater detail. She was thoughtful in her explanations and was not pushy at all. Fuad was also a delight to interact with. The food was honestly pretty good. The start of the course and appetisers were decent but nothing to write home about. The steak was good. Allowing us to cook it for our own preferred timeframe was a fun little activity on its own. The dessert was amazing. Honestly entire experience was a joy. Bring a date. I came alone and enjoyed myself but feeling more like a dating activity.

We went for our anniversary and had a lovely experience! Chelsea provided excellent service and even surprised us with a dessert featuring an anniversary note. Such a thoughtful touch, really made our night special!

This was our go-to spot for me and my dad during our short trip to Melaka. The side snacks we had with our beer — salted egg yolk calamari, chicken yakitori and nachos — went perfectly together. The staff were friendly and attentive, and their warm hospitality really made the experience great.

Nice quiet spot just right for Father’s Day celebration ☺️ Chef even served the food - quite unexpected. All the veg (especially brocolli) were sweet is very fresh, and well cooked. Lamb, beef and chicken were grilled well, and not overdone 👏 Food was good as all was cooked just right, and with good natural seasonings / herbs 🥗🧆 Good service from Chelsea who was very attentive and tried to accommodate all our requests 👍

Came here as business trip. Brought my family along to enjoy and it really never disappoint me. The food is really delicious and worth it. The staff are friendly and very professional too. The flow of the courses are smooth too. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience dining at your lounge. Reggae on the River Malacca is a great place to chill out and have some drinks with friends. The atmosphere is cool, and there are plenty of pubs to choose from, each with its unique vibe. I managed to find a Bob Marley-themed pub featuring his music, which was a real treat. The place is chill and has bamboo stick seats, which adds to the relaxed ambiance. The beer prices were reasonable, considering it's a tourism hotspot. One of the highlights of the place is watching the ferries flow in and out while occasionally waving at the tourists on the ferry and playing some mini beer games. Overall, I found the place quite satisfying, and it's an excellent spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful views of the river.

After a busy day walking here and there at town, this is the perfect place to relax down by the evening. The pub is located right next to the river. 5 bottles of Heinekan cost RM89, price is acceptable, frozen beer is also available at lower price. At night when the lights on, it looks great and lively, the boat will passing thru on and off and sometimes some tourists will wave to you from the boat. Sitting at the rattan chair, listening to nice songs, drinking the cold beer, this make the day end with perfection!

The bar is literally follow the name, beside the river. So if you walk towards or from the Hard rock cafe, by the river, you will definitely see this. There is a lot of bars by the river too but only here playing the reggae song. Environment is good. I'm like it, if you don't kind the smell and sometimes, the mosquito, other than that everything is good. Feel a bit short-handed here. The staff here are busy and yet still friendly, which is a good thing. Price wise maybe a bit expensive, but it is standard over here, so no complaints. Overall it is a good place to chill

Indulged in the best bar experience riverside in Melaka! The serene riverside setting added charm to the evening. Sipping drinks while watching boats pass by was enchanting. The only place in the area that serves Kilkenny! Excellent service — when the beer first tasted a bit sour (not fresh), they immediately replaced it with a new keg, which turned out perfect.

Big fan of the the Bob Marley themed cocktails. The Marley booze cocktail is must try. Best view of the melaka river in the evening and night. The place is organized and clean. Staffs are polite and friendly too. Highly recommended.

Was there at 5pm on a Monday and they were open. RM 63 for 5 bottles of Anchor. Not many people in the other shops and we enjoyed the time. There are fans all over the shop so it's cool everywhere. Toilet is very clean too. Only setback was smoking is allowed everywhere, but all in all, good.

went yesterday night around 8pm w/o reservation and there was some bar takeover going on. there were only 4 cocktails available and decided to try the burnt cheesecake one. not too sure if it’s worth rm60 (incl. svc charge/sst) because it was pretty mid. would have appreciated some intro or explanation on the drinks as well. hope to be able to try the ones on the regular menu next time. that being said, the ambience was great to chill and hang around though

I purposely came here for their drinks, and it was really worth the hype; no wonder it is one of the most popular speakeasies in Melaka 🫶 This hidden gem is not easy to find as it’s secluded and well hidden behind a back lane. Plus, you need to hit the buzzer to get in. Tried their signature drink, Nona, and wow… it was really flavourful and has layers of taste that instantly filled the tastebuds 😎 My hubby ordered their Jagung. I personally didn’t like it because I hate corn, but he really loved it, and the bartender added a surprise treat that made it even better 🍿 All in all, even though their drinks are considered in a higher tier price range, it’s definitely worth the try~ plus their service is awesome. Will definitely come back :) P/s: they have very limited seats, so better call to book your seat first

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Bumped into this hidden bar on our last night in Melaka and was pleasantly surprised. Extremely engaging servers, laid back ambience, intriguing ingredient forward menu and world class cocktails. Will highly recommended to anyone looking for serious mixologist experience and thoughtful cocktails.

👍🏻 Budi is a cocktail bar worth revisiting; their mixology is truly exceptional. However, it would be great if the bar could place water on the table for customers to add themselves, constantly going back and forth can be inconvenient for the waiter. Additionally, after having drinks, there's a craving for snacks. I hope there will be some snack options to accompany the drinks, aside from just the drinks menu. This way, customers can enjoy more drinks without feeling too hungry to stay longer 🥰

Brilliant speak easy bar located above a coffee shop. We went in early one evening. The drinks were inventive and the service was friendly and top notch. The owner has spent time in UK and running clubs in KL on the past and knows his stuff! Recommended.

Very chill ambiance with really nice cocktails! I would highly recommend their corn cocktail, Pandan cocktail, and eggplant cocktail 😊👍🏻 The rest are nice too; it’s just that I personally prefer creamy options 😂 The staff are really friendly, taking time to explain the different cocktails and make recommendations.

We've heard of hidden bars in the area but have never actually been to one. We were really full from dinner but decided to go look for one anyway. That's how we came about Budi. On the outside, it looks like a small business in a back alley that is already closed - no lights, no signboard, no banners. However, when we knocked on the metal door, someone opened it and invited us in. The staff brought us through a coffee shop into a back door, which led to a narrow staircase up to the 2nd and 3rd floor. The bar is on the second floor, where there are also a couple of tables, and there are another couple of tables on the third floor. It was very well done, and it felt like we were in some secret underground bar scene in the movies. The staff introduced drinks to us, and was very savvy on every drink, including what was in the drinks, and how we would like it based on our preferences, such as refreshing, strong, or sweet. The drinks were awesome, not just in the presentation but also the balance of the mix. Strongly recommend this place!

Old-school vibes and an interesting slice of history, but unfortunately, the experience left a sour taste. The bar has no air-conditioning, which adds to the traditional charm, but it was let down by the pricing and attitude. I was charged RM23 for a single shot, only to find the exact same liquor being sold for RM26 per bottle at a nearby mini mart. That’s a huge markup, and I couldn’t help but feel taken advantage of. What made it worse was being told I couldn’t take any photos or even a quick selfie at the stall — a strange rule, especially in a place that seems to trade on its nostalgic appeal. I don’t mind paying a bit more to support local spots, especially ones with this kind of character. But the price felt unreasonable, and being told not to take photos really took away from the experience.

Lovely bar with a lovely old lady, she recommended a few selections of local wines which were very nice! Bar looks very authentic and we had a great time. I’d say this is one of the best bars I had since I arrived in this town

It was a really bad experience here. We came because of the recommendations on Xiaohongshu — so many posts said it’s worth visiting, but honestly, it turned out completely opposite. The lady boss was very fierce and had no manners. When we asked her to introduce the drinks, she didn’t bother explaining anything, just kept telling us to “choose one to drink.” We were just two girls and only wanted to share one drink — she seemed unhappy about it. If there’s a minimum order required, please state it clearly instead of showing attitude to customers. There was even a family visiting, and the lady boss asked the little kid, “You want to drink alcohol or not? If don’t want, then don’t sit inside.” That moment was just unbelievable. Also, I had to use the toilet, and there was a paper saying “toilet rosak.” I guess they just didn’t want customers to use it. I only went in quickly to change my sanitary pad because my period came suddenly. When I came out, the lady boss’s daughter came in and very fiercely asked, “Did you flush?” I told her I didn’t use it, didn’t even switch on the light because I couldn’t find the switch. She still stared at me like I did something wrong. When I asked if I could throw the packaging (just the plastic wrapper, not the used pad), she said I had to throw it outside the shop — but there’s no dustbin outside either. Overall, their attitude was extremely rude and unwelcoming. This shop really doesn’t have the mindset of “opening doors to do business.” Definitely my worst experience in Malacca ever.

Dropped by here for quick drink. We tried the Nu Er Hong (unexpectedly nice) and a rose wine (super strong). Super hot weather and we were walking around jonker street drunkly after that 🥴🤣 The shop is in a quiet part of the area and we nearly missed it if not for google maps. The door was partially close too, but when we called the auntie she came out and was very friendly to us. Really unique set up, have never been anywhere else like this before. Highly recommend to drop by try it out 👍

Closes doors at 5 pm. Family run business, had 2 cocktails for RM60, no number to call. Worth a quick stop if in the area! No menu, they’d arrange a drink based on your preferences

The shop has been opening for 4 generations now. Quite a small place so it can only fit around 10 people at the same time. I ordered the pandan gin made in Melaka and it tasted so good. Not too dry and was really fragrant with pandan smell to it. Recommend trying the drinks on the rock to taste the true flavor, believe she also serve the mixed drinks as well.

Great little spot with live music in the evenings. Came here on a Sunday night when the city was rather dead. The contrast between this lively little spot was immense. The bar tender Matthias was an absolute gentleman really great service.

We found this little alley bar by chance and were charmed by the music (at first some smooth reggae, and then some live music). The cocktails were delicious, and the food as well. They had many vegetarian choices, which I always appreciate. Thanks for a lovely evening!

We were at Jonker Street, wanted to find a place for a drink, initially planned to go somewhere else, but somehow ended up on this bar street. It was still happy hour when we arrived, RM20 for selected cocktails, so we had our drinks there. I ordered a gin-based California Dreaming, while my wife had a tequila-based Hey Pedro. Doesn't seem watered down despite the offer, so that's good. Pay when drinks are served. It was a nice spot to people-watch. There was live singing as well, by a duet, quite enjoyable. 5 stars.

Chill and cool vibes, definitely a good place to hangout at night. They have live singers even on a Monday night. Ordered cocktails, and it was tasty. I am surpised that I got dipsy even after only after one drink. Unlike KL's bars, they really put quite an amount of rum in thier cocktails! Loved it! There is a Chinese Lok Lok just opposite this restaurant that you can order cheap Lok Lok in addition to your drinks. Highly recommend this place if you do not have any bar/restaurant in mind for the night!

My wife and I were so happy to see that this place was still there! The last time we sat down to have drinks there was back in 2016. Shout out to Mr Anthony (I think he’s the manager) and his crew. They were welcoming, fast and efficient with our orders. Shout out also to Mr Luke Suhaimi, resident guitarist and vocalist who churned out a wide repertoire of hits for us. A really great place to chill, sit back and relax. If you’re ever in Malacca, Jonker Walk, you must visit! You won’t regret it! 5 stars guys!

Quite disappointed my Alfredo had no "isi" like chicken, beef, salami, bacon, ham etc. Just plain noodles and gravy, for RM17 (before tax) is a bit much. The gravy was just too watery and tastes more like they poured too much milk into the mix. I hope they improve this during my next visit here. Overheard a waiter ask the table next to me "how is the wine?" When the customer had beer.

Superb BBQ Chicken pizza, very tasty, reasonably priced and excellent service from the staff. Comfortable seating and pleasant live music, what more could you ask for.

I grew up eating tempeh since I was little, so I know that the tempeh you served us wasn’t fresh anymore. Pizza and satay was great, but not with the organic tempeh and their signature curry.

Authentic local flavours with gluten-free menu! Some dishes listed on their gluten-free menu actually contain gluten (e.g. light soy sauce is used on satay and fried rice). The servers are knowledgeable and very helpful in pointing out which dishes are not truly gluten-free. We loved the nasi lemak, lontong and curry vermicelli!

The service attitude is very good, the location is just right, it's a step away from the tourist attractions, the elderly can rest here, and the ladies can go shopping. The beer here is cold and delicious! The food is delicious. We stayed here for an evening and had a great time。

Nice place for a family meal — we celebrated my aunt’s birthday here while the band sang for her. The Hard Rock Cafe staff were friendly and gave us great service. The band also sang all the songs really well. 🙌🏻

Came by with a fairly large group, I think preparations were well made in anticipation of the group. Service was good throughout the night. Live band and DJ played some nice hits too, living up to the hard rock name. Food was inconsistent. Ordered the diablo burger - it was cooked well done. Same with some of the other people who ordered burgers in my group. Only a handful got their burgers cooked to a medium. One particular person got it pink, looked more like beef tartare. Overall, experience was ok. They serve haagen dazs ice cream, which was nice.

Was served by Meera during my visit to Hard Rock Shop Melaka — she was super friendly and really helpful showing me all the cool stuff I was looking for. Ended up buying more than I planned 🤣 Spent over RM400 and got a free HRC Melaka umbrella! Love the vibes and great service here. 💪🎸

It's a franchise of HRC based in Melaka for a while now. The location is right in the heart of all weekend footfalls. Next to Jonker Street. The food portions are very generous. The variety is pretty decent as well. Some food I would recommend are Grilled Salmon and Tupelo Chicken tenders. Vege options are there but handful. Loved the Long Island iced tea as well. The service is good enough. They are efficient, and food comes pretty fast. The proactive interactions with customers, which was there earlier, is missing. The ambience is great. Loved the background music and seating arrangements. The payment can be made via card, cash, or QR. Parking is a tricky scenario. There are limited closed parking slots available in the basement of HRC for a flat rate. In that location, parking can be a challenge, esp during dinner time and weekends.

Once again this franchise delivers. After a disappointing start on the Malacca river(dingy bars and overpriced drinks), Hard Rock had aircon and a familiar drinks menu. Yes it’s more expensive, but the quality of the staff (Scott) and service is on par and he knows how to make a decent cocktail(Long Island). Kudus. 🍹

Great pub food. Real English mustard. Proper shepherds pie. Live band in the evening. Very entertaining and great view of the river. Only thing stopping a 5 star review is that roast dinners were advertised as from 1pm onwards - missing out that they were only available on Sundays. Similar confusions about the hours for "happy hour"

Great location right on the river. Nice cool breeze coming in during the afternoon. Perfect place to relax and have a beer in the hot afternoon. Didn’t try the food but they had a full menu. WiFi is good as well to catch up on some emails or plan your next adventure.

Pub by the river. Great live music and the food was good. We ordered beef pie, chx leek pie, bangers and mash, chx is basket and fish and chips. Mash could do some improvement. Lemonades are realy good. Staff attentive and prompt. All in all a good experience.

Decent bar, great views of the river but a little bit pricey. The food menu looks quite extensive and very British including a roast however, we only had drinks here. Great decor inside with clean and well maintained toilets. Unfortunately the WiFi simply does not work.

The food and drinks are just like any other pub and restaurants, a bit pricier as you also pay for the service, vibes and the music. The difference would be the Authentic Malaysian food menu they offer. We got a set of rice and curry as a waiter recommended it a lot. Along with Mee Goreng which we actually liked more. The food tastes great and flavourful. If you don’t feel like walking so far from Jonker walk, this is not a bad place for dinner at all. I spent a very pleasant evening here. It is run by a very accomplished musician and his lovely wife. The are both very friendly and generate a relaxed, laid back atmosphere. The music is an eclectic selection of standard covers that are well presented.

As a new Mrs. Jones on my honeymoon with my Mr. Jones, we were so tickled to come across this bar. The warm welcome we got from the owners and locals throughout our evening made the visit all the nicer. Live music every night played by the owner himself - other musicians strongly encouraged to join in and jam. My husband did :) great night for the Joneses!

But I’m so glad we kept looking because this turned out to be one of my favorite experiences in Melaka! The cocktails were spot on—well-balanced, refreshing, and highly recommended (especially clarified Long Island). What made the night even better was the warm, genuine vibe. The bartender, Kenny (who also happens to be the boss) and his team were incredibly friendly and chatty, making us feel right at home. “After shower” on the house ends the night with a beautiful note. ❤️ If you're in Melaka and love great drinks in a cozy, welcoming spot, don’t skip this place. Just remember to keep an eye out for that hidden staircase! 😁

The entrance isn’t easy to find. Google map is correct but I wasn't expecting it to be located on the second floor. The first time I tried to spot the bar, I gave up and went to another bar but I tried again after all :D If you see "the biggest halal food court", you are at the right place. Even after that, it looks like it is a maze, though. Good that I got the pictures of how to get to the entrance door on WhatsApp, otherwise I would have lost on the second floor. If you go to any bar, you can have very basic cocktails but here at The Sandman, you can expect further. (Yes, this is a cocktail bar) I tried old fashioned and whiskey sour. They have options of either Suntory or house whiskey. The house whiskey sounds like it is smokey, I chose the house whiskey, I love it pretty much as I prefer smokey taste when it comes to whiskey. The bar might be small but not too small and the decoration is very unique and tasteful. I took many pictures. All the staff there are so generous and friendly. It was a Monday night and I didn't need to book a table but if you wanna go on weekend, you better book a table. If I am not mistaken , there is no bar snack. It is purely a cocktail bar.

Very very pleasant experience in Melaka. If you like to drink heavy, order “The God Father” first & “Siao Zha Bor” after (refreshing). Also don’t miss out on their secret shots. Great cocktail bar with innovative drinks and taste great. Smooth and easy to drink. We tried 5 drinks and they all work. Interesting experience to watch bartenders making the drinks and had great conversation. Followed instructions in the reviews and looked for stairs to go upstairs and found it quite easily. There are some signs to direct you to the bar after you went upstairs. Bartender will open the door once you are there.

Was recommended by a local about this place when our group decided to find a place to chill. This club have both live band and clubbing section side by side where you can choose. We hang out at the live band area. The band was awesome! We enjoyed it much! Guess the band there was rock theme therefore they rock the whole night. :) We did pay a visit to the clubbing area as well. Quite happening too! Recommended for clubbers

Very modern dance club with futuristic ambience. I found its music and atmosphere really happening towards late hours, and I loved it! There is a dedicated dance floor for everyone to get down and have fun after a few drinks. I recommend to make a reservation in advance to sit in a better section, which is nearer to the dance floor and DJ booth.

This charming cocktail bar is tucked away at the back of a building. The entrance can be found after you turn into the alley and look for a yellow gate with the signage. Ring the doorbell, and the hostess will come down and greet you. The bar is located upstairs. They usually accept guests with reservations only, but since I was alone and super early, I was seated at the bar. They dont have a conventional menu. Instead, tell them what you prefer, and they make it for you. There is a very friendly vibe here, and I noticed that everyone knows each other here. They also have some bar food, so if you are feeling peckish, you can always order something to nibble at. I enjoyed my delicious nuggets. The drinks were very good and I thoroughly enjoyed them too.

Entered via the door at back alley. Rang the door bell and a lady came down to fetch us up. Cute. No menu, just tell them what's the taste profile you want. We spent 2 hrs chilling here & 145 ringgit for 3 lovely cocktails. We loved all, especially the mango sticky rice cocktail... we will come back again!

A pleasant surprise to find this little hidden gem in a residential neighborhood. The place was a bit difficult to find as it is easy to miss the entrance. We love our drinks (no menu though), and the service was super nice and friendly. The only criticism is that the waiting time to get our drinks was a bit long, but that didn’t really bother us.

Excellent cocktails crafted according to your taste. This no menu speakeasy with a chill ambience is the perfect place to sate your cocktail thirst. The bartender and hostess are a humble and friendly pair. If you are hungry, they have special instant noodles that hits the spot. If you are lucky, the hostess is also a talented baker and her delicious quiche is to die for.

Fabulous restaurant with some unique touches. Ambience, totally relaxing with Jazz playing in the background. Menu was western based with burgers but each had their own twist. Very flavoursome, I had the Chicken Burger with added egg and cheese. On the menu was pulled lamb burger, beef burger, greek burger etc. Lighter bites available as a sandwich or soup. Drinks wise they crafted IPA homebrew as as Pineapple beer. Altogether an interesting experience. Many thanks to the staff as they were very busy when we went in. Well worth a visit

100% will recommend The Baboon House to 100% of the people I meet and know. This place is amazing and possibly my favourite in all of Malacca. It's serene, peaceful and beautifully decorated. You get this sense of peace and calm, all while feeling excited and amazed by how the place looks and feels. It feels like a hiding place from the hustle and blazing heat of Jonker Street, located right at the heart of the street itself. You will come here when you feel like taking many nice pictures for Instagram, and you will also want to come here when you just want to stare into space and destress and do nothing. It doesn't help that the food is so good and very reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I had a burger each, one plate of chicken thigh and one bowl of french onion soup, which was super tasty. We ordered the Mushroom Burger and a Beef Burger which were both around RM 30. They were delicious and well packed with flavour, complete with wedges or sweet potato fries. You can top up an egg for RM 3 or 4, and for an egg lover like me, you can top up 2 eggs. It's a very long and deep house that felt a little like a jungle and a little like a tree top house. You must come. It's so good and I remember still exactly what it felt like to be in the space. It's not easy to locate this place because of how hidden it looks (covered with greens and easily blocked by cars) but I'm so glad I found it. Live music on weekend evenings too.

Went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. When entering there is a doorbell, need to press so that someone will open the gate for you to enter the cafe. We were let in and seated down immediately. The portions were quite big and filling. Ordered the pulled pork burger, lemongrass water and crepe cake (not shown). The pork burger was good the bun was buttery and fluffy. The lemongrass water is refreshing. The crepe cake was okay, however if you do not enjoy cream it may be too heavy for your palette as the cream taste was quite strong.

Wow this place is stunning. Beautifully decorated, very green and a bit place with a lot of seating. We tried the craft beer, it was okay, nothing crazy. The kombucha was delicious though. The pesto pasta with smoked duck was amazing. We wanted to come back, but their opening hours are a bit funny.

Took a long hot walk to this landmark shop nestled on a quiet street parallel to Jonker. Usual quaint shop house with ceiling fans keeping us cool. Ordered a pork belly burger and swapped the basic fries for sweet potato fries. Added a shrimp Aglio olio and a small juice. Food was underwhelming. Juice watered down. Pasta too cheesy and oily, lacking the expected aglio garlic. Pork belly a little too salty. Fries tasteless. Service was quick. Enjoyed the selection of piped in music.

Brew House was offering a 50% discount from July 2025 to 31st August 2025 , we visit on Sunday 27th July 2025, at around 11:40 AM. There was a short queue upon arrival, and we observed that the indoor seating was fully occupied. Fortunately, there was one available table outdoors, which we were seated at immediately. It seems most people prefer indoor dining, likely due to the air conditioning. We ordered the F44 Chef Porky Platter, priced at RM98.80, which is suitable for sharing among three adults. - The pork ribs had a dry exterior, but thankfully, the inside was juicy, tender, and cooked just right, with soft bone adding to the enjoyment. - The nam yue pork belly was juicy with a generous thickness, though certain parts were too chewy, requiring us to politely discard them. - The satay leaned towards the sweeter side, but the meat was overcooked and hardened, which was disappointing. - The fried wantan was crispy but very ordinary. - The siew yok had a crispy skin, but the meat itself was too dry. Despite some inconsistencies, for the promotional price, we felt it was still worth the experience. By 12 PM, the queue had grown significantly, with more than 20 tables waiting. The warm and hot drinking water is provided free of charge. However, takeaway boxes are charged at RM1 each.

The environment was really nice, love the decorations. The servers were really nice, patient and helpful. The food was really scrumptious, I ordered the pork burger which was very delicious. Visited around 6. 30pm.No queue, three of us were seated outside. Environment: breezy and comfortable. Food Quality: Very disappointing. Plates arrived with oil dripping down the sides, made our hands greasy just touching them, and the toilet is far Ordered the JP Curry Pork Katsu, pork was extremely dry and tough, with lots of fat and tendons. Chewing it was exhausting. Not juicy at all！The taste was also very bland, clearly not marinated properly. Curry gravy was very little, not like the photo that showed it generously poured. By the time the curry finished, half the rice and meat were still untouched. Chocolate milkshake was overly sweet and not enjoyable. Portions were small across the board, and even when we wanted to order more, we couldn’t get any staff’s attention. Service: Service was unacceptable. There was only tomato sauce on the table. We asked 5 times for chili sauce,three different staff acknowledged us, but it never arrived!! Only got it when our fries were nearly finished. There were barely any staff around. One even took away our plates while there was still food on them, as if rushing us to leave. We came with high expectations and even brought a friend from out of town. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a frustrating and disappointing experience. Won’t be returning!!

If you are a Western food lover, the Brew House has it all. The Brew House was located at the heart of Kota Syahbandar. There were a lot of free parking outside which really ease the drivers pretty much. When you first stepped in the restaurant, it had a cozy ambience and it was crowded with many customers from difference ages. It provided a wide variety of cuisines. For us, the foods I love the most were the pizza and indu mee which would certainly make your jaw drop. The peech was special and it gave a flavourful taste when I bite it in mouth. It was pretty scrumptious and drool worthy. The waiters were very polite and attentive. The prices were also reasonable since it had a discount season for their new opening month previously. By and large, it is the restaurant worth patronising!

The food is extremely bad. Signature roasted siew yuk is really bad. Pork chop served cold and for Dak Dari drumstick, it's not properly cook. When we complaint this issue to the staff, They took it back,cut it open,heat it and give it back to you, as shown in the photo. Is this the correct way? Extremely disappointed with this dining experience. Urgently! Please improve your food quality.

Had a great experience at Brew House! Even though it was almost full, our food arrived within 10–15 minutes. Very efficient service, friendly staff, and the food taste not bad. Definitely a recommended spot!

It’s a bit unfortunate that the view across the way isn’t as vibrant as it used to be. I really hope they consider repainting some of the murals. It adds so much character, especially when you’re just relaxing in the evening. I came mainly for the view, but most of the buildings opposite were just plain, single-colored blocks. That said, the service here was friendly and attentive. We had initially planned to check out the Reggae Bar, but to our surprise, it was completely quiet with no customers. So, we came here instead. I remember this whole area being much livelier and full of energy. Not sure what’s changed, but even on a Saturday, it felt quite subdued.

This pub is in river side in melaka. Here is most popular is Carlsberg and Tiger. The view is amazing in this pub. And this is the most crowded place for over night party. Specially Friday, Saturday and Sunday is very crowded here. There are also food items and fresh juice. Staffs are very well behaved. This pub closed till midnight at 3:00 am.

The ambience is nice, with a huge display of beers (all empty). However, there is only a limited choice of beers available. They have fat boy - which I think is made by the owner and the pale ale was excellent. They have a draft offer of 4 for 100RM, but we were told they had nothing on draft (although the next customer that arrived had a draft, so maybe the batman just didn't like me?).

I went alone today. The only and largest selection of craft beer in melaka. Other than very smooth coffee Stout on tap, a nice bottle of Drake's pale ale; there were not a single moment of boredom. The owner, staffs and partners were very chatty. Highly recommended.

Came here on a hot Saturday around 3pm. I was told that, the ONLY choice I had, was pale ale draft on tap, or canned. I clarified, “the only choice?”, and I was affirmed, indeed. So I tried the only choice offered. The pale ale I had was fresh and good. But it doesn’t serve the expectation for a craft beer specialist bar. Perhaps, the “hundreds of craft beer available” is only justified by hundreds of empty cans and bottles on display.

You are in the right place if you are a beer person. A really wide selection of beers from all around the world. If you are lost do take tips from the bartender. They also have a good selection of cigars. Only down fall is they don't have a cigar room to enjoy the cigar!

Was there on new year's Eve, place was relatively empty which was a surprise to me. A small, cosy and well decorated space that serves nice craft beer at reasonable prices. Service staff is prompt and polite too.

Arrived in the evening before sunset. Has nice vibes & a breathtaking view. The pricing is quite on the higher end, but when I went here there were discounts on foods. Very good customer service though. Served from the front to the table. Food was decent. Had to force myself to finish my carbonara because it is too creamy so I got “muak” fast. The fish & chip okay but fish is a tad tasteless. The french fries were bomb though, very crispy & chunky 👍 Maybe I would come again & order steak next time because I think their specialty is the steak :)

Overall the food is disappointing exclude Grilled T-Bone Steak. The Fish & Chips was not good, the pasta barely have much taste from the sources. The Level 41 floor view is great, you can overview the whole Melaka at one sport. Not recommended to have dinner here, you can simply order a cup of drinks and enjoy your view.

Surprisingly, she stood behind us with a dissatisfied expression, as if we were doing something wrong. Having worked in the F&B industry for over 9 years, I truly believe great service means treating every guest with respect and equality. We have traveled the world and learned one simple truth ,never judge people by appearance because hospitality is about making everyone feel welcome

Haven't been here since COVID. Steak was still good, ambiance was ok too, service was good until when it's time to settle bill leaving a bitter taste to a almost good meal. Paid 250 cash for a 237 bill. But waited close to 15 mins, my change and receipt did not return. Wouldn't had minded leaving the change as tips but please do not let the customer wait there for nothing. I was the only customer there so can't use excuse as busy. Had to go request for my receipt before she went to counter to retrieve it and still no change given back. Quite a few zombies walking about both in and outside seating area.

Food was alright. We ordered Caesar salad with Grilled chicken, gambas prawns, grilled seabass, rib eye steak, and lava chocolate cake. The sea bass was really well done, tender and tasted perfectly balanced. The caesar salad was alright, nothing special but decent. Gambas prawns had only 4 pieces of prawns, a little over seasoned with lemon. Traditionally, the garlic taste should be more distinctive, but the lemon taste was too overwhelming. We could not taste anything other than the sourness of the lemon. The steak was decent with their sliced potatoes crispy and tasty. Their lava chocolate cake was freshly baked, love it! Super gooey and not too sweet. The atmosphere and service was splendid! Love the attentiveness and the prompt refill of my wine! 10/10 would recommend but stay away from the seafood chowder, totally not what we expected.

Nice place to chill and relax. Went at sunset and could capture nice shots on camera. Had a few drinks and ordered food. Food wise I would say it could be better. But if you guys like to capture nice scenery from the top of the building to look at Malacca this will be the place to relax.

The Pampas Sky Dining Steakhouse restaurant was truly amazing. The food here was incredible and my family and I loved it. In my opinion, the lamb was really nice. Overall the service was excellent and one of the servers, staff, was very friendly and helping. Service is fast and food is good. But expect to wait because it is often crowded. However they have a corner for people to sit and wait. Pasta weren't crispy as I imagined it to be. Kinda preferred crispy pasta. Not that it was bad, just different from my expectation. The place and food was nice. Will return again when I am in the area.

Best bar in Melaka Raya hands down. Drinks are reasonably priced and the owner Nigel is extremely service-oriented, always making sure that everyone is well hydrated and feeling comfortable. Music is great (if you love the classics, anything from ABBA to Eagles), and you might (very likely) get a chance to go onstage and sing your favourite songs. Definitely a must go if you like old school English music, and quite sure you’ll go again.

Wasn't too busy and still the Korean chicken and sweet potato fries took quite some time coming. They both tasted good, though. The Carlsberg on tap and the Refreshing Passion Fruit mocktail were served quickly and were enjoyable. One star taken away for the atrociously dirty loo. Guys you simply cannot ask patrons to use it. The 3 stars are for their morning breakfast. I enjoyed the freshness of their kaya butter toast (I even ordered two sets 😋) and their freshly made coffee — unlike some places where they keep it premade on the side and just add hot water 👎🏽👎🏽. The freshly made noodles were good too — oh yes, make sure you ask for the homemade chili with the noodles. The laksa was good too! Come here for a local outdoor kopi drinking and eating experience. Hanged out here after a long time. Great vibes with wonderful food. They have updated their menu with many new items. Pongteh chicken and pork is a must try dish here with the chill blue lagoon cocktail.😋 Good management with friendly staffs. Cool bartender. Nice and music as well. And in the weekends you guys can request for your favourite song. Like wow. Friendly bar. Will visit again for sure.

Saw this nearby bar close to Wild Coriander Melaka and wanted to drink. They have shots but no mixers as their Coke & Ginger Ale (Schweppes) come in cans so gotta buy separately. Ordered a mango berry fusion which comes in either cocktail (18 ringgit) or mocktail form (15 ringgit). Liked the sour & sweet taste of the beverage. It's open concept but windy at night so it's a nice place to chill after eating if you're in the area.

Great selection of craft beer from different countries. Place is enough to fit a small crowd, is cozy and quiet. It is tucked away from the busy main street and offers a chill and relaxed atmosphere. Music playing was perfect for the vibe. Loved going back every time I visit Melaka.

It’s a tiny hidden bar located behind the alley right in front of Tipsy bar! Its way more quiet and comfortable compare to other bar you can find in Melaka, plus! They sell craft beer! 10 out of 10! 💫🫶🏼 Ps: they have two super friendly pups too!!

It is quite a hidden place and you may miss the entrance. It has a selection of beers with snacks on the menu. There are outdoor space as well. Not a big shop, suitable for a small group of friends or family members. Pet friendly. Beer is slightly pricy but the brand is unique.

Situated along the riverside, you get to see river cruise passing by. Music played, prices are affordable. Love the ambience. Service is very attentive and prompt.

After visiting a nearby bar, we found this one to be much livelier… the atmosphere and energy here were definitely better. The staff were friendlier and more enthusiastic, which made a difference. The food selection was also quite good, with a decent variety to choose.

Edited:Brownie points only for the view and cocktail. We ordered sausage & fries, which costs rm22 each and sausage were frozen dirt cheap that can be bought at supermarkets. Price tag doesn’t justify the food quality. Service wasn’t great or welcoming either. It’s ok if you just want to have couple of drinks with the lovely view. I guess whoever replied to this, doesn’t know whats the meaning of constructive criticism and wants to bash customer feedback instead of acknowledging it. LOL. No wonder NO ONE at the bar the other day. Yes you right should have gone to HARD ROCK or other bars alongside. Goodday 😂

Really nice environment, good music, good lighting, beautiful view of the river. Prices were reasonable and worth it. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Definitely would recommend 👍🏻

Welcoming and smiling team, very good food with selection of veg/non veg and spicy or not meal, all of that very affordable (40 RM for two person). Not to forget, a very good view on the river.
