Cocktail bar
Bar
The Washhouse in Manchester is a trendy cocktail bar hidden behind the facade of a laundrette. Guests must request entry through a phone call and then pass through a secret door disguised as a large vending machine. The industrial-style bar features plush leather seating, creating a cozy atmosphere for enjoying creative and ostentatious cocktails served in unique vessels like cauldrons and cereal bowls. This secretive yet stylish concept has become popular among locals seeking an exciting drinking experience in the bustling Shudehill area.
We had an absolutely amazing experience here! The atmosphere and cocktails were brilliant. The service was exceptional. Our server Taylor really took time to explain the menu, different cocktails, and the options well. This meant we loved every cocktail we chose and got to enjoy the story and theme behind them all, too! The cocktails were amazing, but there was also a separate secret menu to find, a disco bathroom, and a hidden room that all added to the experience! We had such a good time, and it was well worth every penny!

Id heard of this place online and always wanted to go, so when my mum decided she wanted to for her 50th I was super excited. I LOVED this place as an escape room and small business (and alcohol) lover. This place is so unique and well made, along with some of the best and nicest service I've had from an establishment. Good fun and not even fussed about the price because the whole place and uniqueness of the drinks makes it entirely worth it!! Server with a mustache(sorry hun we weren't sure of your name) was incredible and made the experience 10x better, as well as making us feel very welcome. As a hospitality worker myself, my partner and I were also so impressed with our servers ability to remember not just our entire order without writing it but the ingredients of them just off the top of his head.
Alana T — Google review
I’ve always heard about this place and I can’t remember why I’ve never been but now I’ve finally been, I know I’ll be going again! Conceptually this place is perfect, the theme I got was conspiracy theories (there definitely needs to be a cocktail about jet fuel and steel beams iykyk) but the rest of them were very intriguing. The staff really know their stuff and you can tell they are super passionate about everything that goes into this place, even one waiter shared my same idea that we don’t like creamy cocktails but the alien abduction was an excellent recommendation from him and it was actually a belting cocktail. I just wish I could have stayed longer, there was also no DJ in the toilet, i understand 12pm is early but for a Saturday I’d have expected one to be on all day.
Jackiii — Google review
You call up a phone when you arrive, get given instructions, and then enter through what looks like a vending machine, it’s fun and definitely different. Unfortunately, the rest of the night didn’t quite match the exciting start. It took over 40 minutes just to get our drinks, which was really frustrating. When they finally arrived, they were nice, but at £30 for two drinks, it felt way too expensive, especially for the service. The toilets were clean, but since they were unisex, it felt a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it’s a fun place to try once for the experience, but with the slow service and high prices, I wouldn’t be in a rush to go back.
Jake H — Google review
Really great! Cool set up and drinks were awesome, staff were lovely and very friendly, especially Devon! He really took the time to explain the lore behind our drinks and gave some great recommendations (like the Birds Aren't Real) and was overall lovely to chat to. I had a great time :))
Scarlet — Google review
Visited late Saturday 14th of June thankfully with the show we had been at running over we still was able to visit. If i could give 6 stars I would for the staff they explained each drink we ordered perfectly. Now the only letdown was we booked the tour to the secret bar but weren't told it was closed so we only got the drink that came with the tour so please make sure you give ya self-time for that as your spending more time upstairs due to the drinks are nice and ur wanting more.
Darryl A — Google review
So you approach a seemingly normal laundrette, enter the tiny room confused about your evening plans (wait, should I have brought my washing with me?) and pick up the phone on the wall. You get invited to "inspect the vending machine" which opens up into the beautiful atmospheric washroom bar. If that experience wasnt dazzling enough youre then given a menu filled with wild and wonderful cocktails all based around different conspiracy theories and told there is a hidden menu found within! The staff were wonderful, explaining each conspiracy theory and how it relates to your cocktail with such joy, it was hard not to get excited with them! The drinks were all delicious and given the time and budget I would have tried every single cocktail on the menu. I had "birds aren't real", "nessie" (still trying to figure out how they made this drink taste like raspberry shortbread!) and one of the drinks from their secret menu. My friend was extremely happy with her "Bermuda triangle" cocktail that came with a magnetic spinner and tiny boat to reenact an adorable mini whirlpool. Honestly the best bar Ive ever been to, it was fantastical and I felt giddy and amazed the entire time.
Alice E — Google review
The experience was amazing! When we enter, all we see are some washing machines and a vending machine, and pulling a door leads us to this amazing cocktail bar. The drinks were unique, too, and some even required us to solve puzzles. Highly recommend it!

Had a great time. Popped in for a quick cocktail or two. Wonderful experience and great staff. Plenty of tables. We only had drinks this time. No food. Drinks were so tasty and visually fantastic

Great place to go and more of an experience than just getting a cocktail. Some amazing array of options on the menu, but our server Poppy was super helpful and very knowledgeable about them. We also had the Guinness rarebit which was delicious.

Went for bottomless brunch, food was amazing and cocktails were even better! Great value for money! Poppy was our server and she was lovely! Really friendly and explained everything to us

This was the best night out I've had in a long time. The atmosphere was up eat and trendy, but definitely a bit loud if you're sensitive to that. The staff were amazing and extremely attentive. We didn't have to ask for anything, they were on top of it and very friendly. They explained every cocktail and food item which was great. The food was delicious and not too pricey at all which left plenty for drinks. The actual cocktails were fantastic and so much fun. The little theatric flare to each one made it a lovely experience overall. We are looking forward to going back and trying more.

Went for a spontaneous trip with my partner, she got the Cosmic Conch and Lavender Rain and I got the Smokey Old Fashioned and Hard Peach Iced Tea as well as a dessert to split. Delicious drinks with a scientific twist! Would happily go again, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff!

Had an amazing time here! Our bartender (forgot his name sorry!) was very nice and entertaining. I got something smoky (omg forgot the name!) and an espresso martini, both of which were really really good and had an amazing presentation.
Matthew T — Google review
The food and drink are to die for! So so delicious. The service was also impeccable, we had Poppy serving us who was so kind, attentive and professional. Service with a smile is exactly what we got and it was so refreshing seeing someone actually enjoying their job and care about giving their customers a great experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon! 😊

Schofield's Bar is a sophisticated gem tucked away in the historic Sunlight House, an Art Deco marvel located in Spinningfields. Since its understated debut in 2021, this cocktail haven has quickly become a favorite among enthusiasts seeking expertly crafted drinks. With a menu featuring twenty-four meticulously curated cocktails that celebrate classic recipes, Schofield's ensures every sip is memorable.
Clearly deserving of their spot as the best bar in Manchester. Had the most amazing clover club there and we came back a day later to try another round of drinks, which was delicious as well. If you go to Manchester and you want to drink a high end cocktail (not tourist stuff or for the view, but actually great cocktails) -> go here!
Felix Z — Google review
My favorite bar in Manchester. Good vibe, everyone is your friend, and kind! The bartender's passion for cocktails is always the most important quality for me. Because bartending requires passion and creativity! Of course, good taste too! The bartenders here have all the qualities I mentioned! The most important thing is that I always make good friends here! Is there anything more important than this?
Zilong J — Google review
Incredible first visit to Schofield’s- it’s clear why they are 3rd best bar in the UK! Exceptional service from very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Incredible cocktails (best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had) and an excellent playlist. Cannot recommend Schofield’s more highly!

Simply amazing the whole ambiance is just perfect a classy bar with attentive waiters . Loved it the Manhattan blew my mind soooo strong . I will be back old northern soul track too . Loved it Back again for a busy sunny Friday again rammed perfect loved it the margaritas and Long Island iced teas kept on flowing . Highly recommended but thankfully door staff turning away the great unwashed 😁

I’ve finally come to SCHOFIELD’S BAR, Manchester’s “best” cocktail bar. Personally I wouldn’t say it is but it certainly isn’t far off. I think what makes it such a contender is the bartenders, overly welcoming ✔️ Caring ✔️ Knowledgeable ✔️ Well presented and dressed ✔️ I love how they will basically make you anything you want and they make that known too. Ultimately I prefer Bljnker which is the same owners, maybe that’s just cause of the delicious toasties though, but the aircon in Schofield is hard to beat.
Jackiii — Google review
Really fantastic location. Team were really friendly and experts on making good cocktails. Atmosphere is so nice with its dim lights. Really feels cosy and cute. Was perfect for a drink after a date.
Rowan M — Google review
Second time we visited and Ella was so incredibly welcoming and recommended some amazing cocktails! I was already convinced this is an amazing cocktail bar, however this reemphasized how welcoming this is ❤️ Stumbled upon by accident, but enjoyed some amazing cocktails. Staff are extremely friendly and cocktails are delicious. Just make sure you like ginger if you're going to order penicillin
Mihai C — Google review
I was really impressed with the drinks and service. I tried the brigadoon, Irish coffee and Miami keys. Irish coffee was hands down the best followed by the Miami keys. It’s a little tight in the seating area so probably not good for big groups.

Dusk Til Pawn is a stylish lounge in the Northern Quarter's Stevenson Square, disguised as a pawn shop during the day. At night, it transforms into a trendy bar serving craft cocktails, wine, and beer. The knowledgeable staff can guide you through their inventive concoctions like the Brass Balls and Greenback. The bar features comfy sofas, a jukebox, and top-notch cocktails including a unique twist on the classic Old Fashioned.
Very nice quirky cocktail bar. Quiet on an early Sunday evening . Cocktails were good and enjoyed the music.

Loved coming here for years. Everytime we drink in Manchester always come here. I love that they are dog friendly. This time Jessica was particularly helpful, making us feel very welcome with our dog, getting her a bowl of water and treats.
Emily W — Google review
Cool concept bar... the street view of retro pawn shop from outside, but inside nothing special. Barmaid was super friendly and made some awesome margaritas - regular and spicey. Happy hour at 7pm on Thursday .... £8 good value strong cocktails!! Worth a visit then get onto the next bar 😀
Rob — Google review
There was no food, but we had the best cocktails and they accommodated when we needed to change our choice . So helpful and friendly . Loved the vibe
Rohini M — Google review
So I visited this lovely hidden gem of a bar tucked away in the streets of Manchester. Didn’t think too much of it at first, thought it’s just another bar in the Northern Quarter, however once I got inside I was greeted with such warmness from the lovely girl at the bar who if I can remember correctly was called Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she went to a lot of effort showing me and my group of friends through the cocktail menu as we wanted to try something new. Some of my group are very picky but her patience didn’t waver and we appreciated that! We ended up choosing the Pawn O Graphic and it was very good! I don’t normally leave long reviews, or reviews at all but I just wanted to mention how attentive she was to me and my friends, and even went as far as letting one of us charge her phone behind the bar so she could book an Uber home as we aren’t from the local area! Service with a smile, thank you Jess!
Bethany P — Google review
Awesome tunes, service and vibes. Their twists on classics beat the classics out the park. Can recommend the Pawn-o-graphic as an espresso Martini beater and a Pina Verde is waaaaay better than a Pina Colada. Thank you Jess and Josh (invertor of said Pina Verde) for an excellent afternoon of cocktails 😁
Sarah G — Google review
Stopped in for a cocktail on a Saturday night. There were no tables when we arrived and we were happy to stand at the bar however the staff quickly shuffled some people around to make room to seat us. The cocktails weren’t the cheapest (£12-14) but they were delicious and strong! The staff were all very friendly and service was very good. Would visit again and would recommend!

Behind Closed Doors is a basement tavern with a speakeasy atmosphere and vintage erotica. Tucked away beneath Oldham Street, this hidden bar features a tiny doorway that leads to a den of debauchery adorned with retro TVs, vintage chandeliers, and Persian rugs. The cocktail menu boasts drinks like the Furry Cup and Wet Dream, each illustrated with eye-catching pictures. Despite its risque theme, the bartenders are skilled at crafting quality cocktails.
I wasn’t expecting it to be so scandalous, but that’s because I didn’t read about it ahead and just followed my friends. It was definitely a great time. The music was great. The drinks were well-made. The theme is consistent throughout everything. The drink names and decor and the DJ all fit. It was fun. The music was a bit loud, so not the best place to try to communicate with words.
Elizabeth W — Google review
intriguing place! Great for a girls night out or a date. Many good photo spots, cool beds to sit in Obvious pricing £6 pints worth it for ambience
Evey G — Google review
Amazing place, with a unique & amazing vibe and atmosphere. The music was great & had a really great experience with an incredible bartender named Oli who was humorous and had incredible customer service from the first introduction to us paying. Drinks were well priced and the cocktail he recommended called the wet dream was delicious. Even though it was so good, we wanted to try the rest & while they where all amazing Oli’s recommended cocktail was our favourite! Amazing venue highly recommend!
Nathan ( — Google review
We had an excellent time here at BCD. Josh the sausage roll looked after us with incredible care, tenacity and passion. We will definitely revisit this venue, even if just for him. What a place!! Thank you for the experience ❤️
Shona-Bella L — Google review
It’s unique, I’ll give you that. Love the quirky decorations and the overall theme with neon lights and old tvs as part of the decor. Plenty of seats available and seems like a good place for a private date. The vibe differs based on the day of the week and the time. The entrance is easy to miss during weekdays so, need to keep a look out for it beside the tattoo parlour which is easier to locate.
Pushpa H — Google review
Ruby-rae absolutely made my night!! they were so incredible and so cool!! recommend for anyone looking for an incredible night in manchester
Luke R — Google review
Friendly bouncer, removed people that were being inappropriate. The mixologist was very attentive and very knowledgeable and made us very tasty cocktails. Great atmosphere, had a great night. Definitely going back.
Patricia K — Google review
Really nice place with "unique" decorations. Drinks were pretty good, nothing bad or special but the main reason you'd go here isn't the drinks anyways. The venue was on the small side but it had plenty of seats. I was there on a Saturday night which was very crowded but there was no queue. The music was quite laud, so it is not good for chatting but pretty nice for dancing. There was a dj when I was there, so that was quite nice. Overall I'd recommend this place if the pictures look like something you'd enjoy. Definitely an interesting place and even if you don't plan on spending your whole evening there it is probably worth to check it out just for the environment.

The Liquor Store is a trendy bar in the heart of Manchester, just a stone's throw away from the bustling Victoria station. With its New York-meets-UK rock 'n' roll vibe and stylish decor featuring brick walls, this place exudes an electric atmosphere that will get you moving to the beat. The bar offers an extensive selection of premium drinks and cocktails, including their signature Proper Manc concoction that beautifully blends local ingredients.
We chose the Liquor Store to host our leaving do and we couldn’t have been happier. We had the right hand side of the bar roped off and Danny was our go to guy for the evening. The team, and particularly Danny were so great and it wasn’t just us thought that, many of our guests mentioned it too. We had some welcome drinks planned and they were served for us and they kept everyone topped up and happy. A few there weren’t drinking and the team put together some bespoke mocktails to cater for them which were delicious, as were the regular cocktails. If you’re considering booking the Liquor Store for your event I would definitely recommend. We’ll be back for any of our future events! Thanks again team!

We had a cocktail making class for my best friends hen do at the liquor store yesterday. The experience was amazing, so much better than any chain we’d been too. The drinks were gorgeous, we weren’t rushed in anyway and got beautiful cocktails that we made. We were asked what sort of drinks we’d like to make so got a choice to make sure nobody was left out. Special alcohol free were also made for one of the hens that was pregnant! I can’t thank the team enough they were honestly absolutely amazing and really made it such a fun experience! Would absolutely recommend to anyone 👏

This might just be my favourite bar in Manchester. We booked part of the venue out for a party of about 70 and from first email to the end of the event Doug and his team were so helpful, kind and accommodating. The atmosphere was incredible, with fairly reasonably priced drinks for smack bang in the city centre. Everyone loved it and we can’t wait to visit again!

Out in Manchester with my fiancée for my birthday weekend, we chose this bar as our first stop. Quiet at first as we came early, but we could not fault the place. The guys working were absolutely, and they genuinely get the place going. Great service, great⁸ interaction with the customers, they even got us free shots for my 40th birthday, which we didn't expect. Brilliant music playlist as well. The might got better as it got busier and busier. Let's just say we didn't go anywhere else after being in there. Thanks again

I did put a review in on another site but I thought I’d get my Google one in, this was from a few months ago. This place was absolutely amazing and I really mean it, one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. The music was spot on and the decor was amazing. It really did embody Manchester at its finest. The bartender who opened up was class and quite hilarious and when the other ones turned up they were just the same. The cocktail menu is literally perfect and the ghostbuster sharer is just so worth the price it’s unreal. The only note I could make is that they don’t do food, if they did…. It could be a contender for the place place in Manchester but I understand it’s a bar not a restaurant and they don’t wanna expand by building a kitchen and hiring chefs etc.

YES is a multi-entertainment venue located on Oxford Road, Manchester. It houses Firebird Hope, known for its delicious vegan chicken-style burger called the Triple-6. The venue features four floors including a basement club, ground-floor beer-hall bar, live space (The Pink Room), and rooftop terrace. YES offers regular deals on burgers and also has an in-house pizzeria called Pepperoni Playboy that serves pizza by the slice with several vegan options.
Loved the pizza and the beer. Everyone in the staff was so nice and accommodating. I believe there are different areas or rooms you could go to but I only stayed in the main one and sat alone for the drinks, pizza, and the vibe. Absolutely chill place as well, great DJ when I stayed there. Could understand why this place is popular ☺️

What an amazing venue. Where do I start. Came to see the wonderful and talented Sophie B Hawkins. She didn't disappoint, nor did the girls supporting her. The music was in the intimate pink room, good sound. This place has it all, roof top bar and an outside beer garden. A bar on every floor, and also serve top notch vegan & vegetarian food. Pizza and Fries were yummy. Staff are so friendly. Came for the gig, and I will return for the venue. Loved it.

The music played last night created an exciting atmosphere for all in attendance. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves with the bands performing on stage. It was also appreciated that the drinks were reasonably priced. The overall vibe contributed to an enjoyable experience during the evening. Overall, it was a great night.

Wow what a great venue. Upstairs you have cocktails, fresh pizza and bouquets of chips served until late with plenty of seated areas. Then downstairs is an intimate stage area with aircon. Loved how shelves run along the sides so you can prop your drink while boogying . This is my sort of venue anyway very intimate.
Penny L — Google review
Loved this place and the view right next to it (see pic). The roofterrace is such a gem and really unique. The long drinks were very affordable. And the toilets immaculate!! What more do you want?
Christin H — Google review
I really liked it here, the staff were good and the show we saw was excellent, so good for an intimate performance. But, in the basement, the beer was warm. I mentioned it and no one really seemed to care. It's kind of basic stuff. If someone came to my house and I gave them a warm beer I'd be pretty embarrassed about it. Fix your cooling system and you're smashing it.
Jonny W — Google review
Beautiful venue, from the decor to the pink room and the rooftop space. Only bad experience I've had was last night with one of the staff members working at the pizza joint - he was incredibly rude and spoke to me in a very condescending manner.
Aimee S — Google review
The Pink Room at Yes is an absolute gem of a venue — small, intimate, and full of character. The setting creates a real sense of connection between the audience and the performers, making every gig feel personal and immersive. The acoustics are surprisingly good for such a compact space, with sound that’s clear, rich, and perfectly balanced. You can feel every note and lyric resonate around the room. It’s the kind of place where you can really lose yourself in the music — no massive crowds, no distractions, just pure atmosphere. If you love live music in a close, vibrant setting, The Pink Room is definitely worth a visit.

Great atmosphere, great drink selection and amazing staff. The customer service is absolutely fantastic, I had a personal issue and tom and Matthew we’re swift to help me and did so effectively, cannot rate them enough for the customer service and help they provided. Various activities to do, great for dates, nights out and just a general drink. Definitely recommend 10/10.

Loads of table tennis, good range of games to play. Cocktails could've been better with some deals. Good little spot 👌

Great games den and bar in central Manchester. Drinks a fair price and loads of pool, darts etc options.

Fun bar with darts, ping pong, and arcade games. We went in a Saturday night and it was quite busy. The vibes are very chilled, the drinks are ok but the fun part is the games. They offer ping pong tables for £7/30’ and £12/1h

Tom was such a pleasant server helped us understand the difference for the cocktails and made sure we ordered the ones we loved! Such a good environment!!

Shout out to Steve who was very helpful and friendly, managed to get us a space for table tennis and pool straight away even though it was very busy!🤝

Cool event space that you can hire for a reasonable rate. They have good music (hip hop, funk, electro kinda stuff) a decent beer selection and it has a real grungey kinda vibe. As well as playing ping pong, you can often see art here there as they us the space as a gallery quite often and it's open late on a weekend if you want to party on.

Love this spot as a place to take your friends to introduce them to the northern quarter! I’ve been here a few times now, and the vibe’s always great. A few arcade games, lots of ping pong tables, all in the basement! Not too expensive for a table, and great when busy or quiet

Speak In Code is a popular cocktail bar in Manchester, known for its creative drinks and intimate speakeasy atmosphere. Tucked away in Spinningfields, this cozy bar features stylish decor with exposed brick walls and low lighting. The bartenders are praised for their inventive cocktails, and the menu is entirely plant-based, offering unique concoctions like the SiC Old Fashioned.
Visited Speak in Code for my brothers birthday. Big Joe was absolutely brilliant in guiding us through the menu and taking our drinks preferences to recommend cocktails that both of us really enjoyed. He was happy to take any questions we threw at him about absolutely anything - the bar, the drinks or the menu. His knowledge was second to none and he explained every ingredient and how they paired together in detail. Big Joe took this from just a few cocktails to an experience - and we both experimented with cocktails we wouldn’t have picked from the menu alone. Would recommend SIC to anyone - the cocktails and the service were brilliant from start to finish.

Nice dark cozy quiet vibe as expected from a speakeasy. The gentleman serving us was very helpful and knowledgable. They do their own fruit infusions which make cocktails unique and memorable. Perfect execution by proper mixologists passionated for their craft of sharing tasting experiences. As much as it is pricey, it is worth a visit. The menu is a piece of art as well.

Absolutely loved Speak in Code! From the person who greeted us at the door to everyone working inside, the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The cocktails were next level, creative, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. Definitely try their demo cocktails. Unique and so well-crafted! The atmosphere is intimate and stylish, with great music and a cozy vibe. One important tip: make a reservation, seriously, you’ll need it, because it gets busy and it’s totally worth it. Easily one of the best cocktail bars in Manchester, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
Beycan K — Google review
Amazing cocktail bar, definitely worth a visit. Had a great time, the staff were really nice and friendly. The cocktails are creative and there are some interesting twists on classics as well. Tried some of the snacks too, and they were quite nice.

My partner and I have visited Speak in Code a number of times now, and yesterday we got to sit in their new Studio space for the first time for some end of night anniversary cocktails. This is without a doubt my favourite place to get cocktails in the city. Not only are the drinks exceptional (and they really really are) but the bar staff are so friendly and accommodating and always willing to answer any questions. You can tell they love what they do and the proof is in the cocktails themselves. Big shoutout to Little Jo for making our anniversary one to remember : )

An absolute must! We visit every time we’re in Manchester and the cocktails are incredible - something for everyone. Joe looked after us and was so knowledgeable about the ingredients etc but also just an absolute angel. The atmosphere is impeccable - can’t recommend enough.
Bryony S — Google review
One of the best, if not the best, cocktail bars in Manchester. The menu is so creative and innovative. Nearly all their drinks incorporate house-made ingredients, such as infusions, distillations, and other laboratory based techniques. And they’re delicious! The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. They operate a well-organised booking system, with clear choices for how long you’d like the table for, and they will hold you to this when it’s busy. To maintain their cosy, intimate feel they have a strict limit on group sizes that they allow and I saw them turning away several larger groups, which I was pleased to see!

Located in a shopping complex, 20 Stories is a high-style destination offering modern British dining and cocktails with stunning panoramic views of the city. The restaurant, led by chef Aiden Byrne, serves up a variety of dishes including a decadent fish sharing platter for two and options like roasted scallops, grilled halibut, and cod cheek and chips. Known for its breathtaking views, 20 Stories also offers special menus for occasions like Valentine's Day.
Went here for lunch as a mother and daughter treat. I was struck immediately by the wonderful atmosphere and decor of the place. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our waiter, Kumar, was incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring we had the best time. We ordered olives and mains: sea cream and trout followed by a shared dessert. The food was perfect and the summer signature cocktails went so well with everything. We couldn't find fault in our time here at all.

The ambience is amazing and very elegant. We attended there for my birthday celebration and the staff were very welcoming from the start to the end of our visit. Our waiter ,Nancy, was brilliant! From explaining the food , making recommendations and taking extremely good pictures of us. The service was excellent, quick and stress free. She made our evening and the meal more enjoyable. We got 2 starters and 2 mains. Unfortunately the food does not meet the standards of the atmosphere as it was quite bland. I would not advise you to order the chicken dishes as we found it quite bland ( no taste, no salt). However, their seafood was better and delicious. I got the prawns. Their terrace is perfect for a hot summer day or night meal, but if you don’t smoke or can’t stand the smell you might want to sit inside.

Dinner with the most fabulous views of Manchester. After our son completed the Manchester Half Marathon, we wanted to eat somewhere nice to celebrate. We booked 20 stories the evening before. The decor & service great. Nice selection of professionally made drinks. Food delicious, 3 out of the 4 of us had the beef Sunday roast, excellent value at £26. It came with a side of cauliflower cheese, clean plates all round. Would highly recommended even going for drinks as they have a fab outdoors area with blankets and heaters too.

We went to the blackout / candlelight evening on Sunday. Food was pretty good and it was a set menu. My husband enjoyed his more than myself. I’m vegan and the food was good 7.5/10 but I wasn’t full! I felt like going for a bag a chips afterwards!!! The main course was little more than a small potato and a medium sized beetroot! A shame because the place was lit beautifully and the views of Manchester were superb. Our server Daniel needs a huge mention and recognition as we both felt he was outstanding. He was lovely and very attentive without being overbearing. He had the knack of knowing when to chat and offer service and was personable and respectful and polite. Had a great manner and was a credit to the restaurant. We would definitely return but would hope for a better menu. After all it was £100 per person and to leave unsatisfied was a disappointment

We had a lovely dinner here the other night to celebrate our anniversary and our server was the wonderful Nancy who despite having a full section of tables throughout our entire meal was so attentive and professional. She made us feel so welcome and helped make our celebration so special. We loved our dinner and will return for other special occasions because of the attention to detail Nancy had and how all of her reccomendations hit the mark.

Always wanted to go here but never got around to it and we’ve now been twice in the last two weeks. We only went in for a drink, once in the day and once at night. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The views you get of Manchester were breathtaking and I’d recommend going both in the day time and at night. I had an IPA which was really nice and not too overpriced considering the venue and experience you get.

First time at 20 Stories, my wife booked it for my 40th and we both absolutely loved it. The service was amazing, food was great and despite the Manchester rain the atmosphere was brilliant even on the terrace. Special mention to Ella the hostess who was brilliant throughout the whole process, booking to leaving. We will definitely be coming back!

It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, allowing visitors to take in the rapidly evolving skyline often referred to as 'Manchatten.' The bar provides an opportunity for guests to experience the building without staying at the Hilton Hotel or residing in its luxury apartments.
We did not try the food on the day, so i can not really rate it. Cocktails were on point, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Was not very busy for a Saturday night and the music was not too loud, so we could have a conversation. Great spot for a romantic evening/ night out. The view and atmosphere is top notch.

Some of the decorations and curtains look tired. Apart from that we had a very good experience. The afternoon tea was delicious. They have halal chicken and vegetarian options. Topless hot drinks were nice. We left very satisfied.
Emine D — Google review
Given the price, I expected the Sweet & Savoury Afternoon Tea to be truly delicious, but unfortunately it wasn’t. The sweets in particular were quite disappointing. I’d recommend enjoying tea with the savouries and finishing with coffee for the sweets instead. Note: All teas are included, but not all coffees.

A amazing spot for a quiet evening. Incredible views, fantastic cocktails and very friendly and attentive service from Calum who looked after us all evening. Good music, but at a suitable level so we could still talk and enjoy each others company. Worth booking. The cocktail flight voucher is good value too and they even remembered it was our anniversary.

Have to say this was a great place to visit, it is a bit expensive but at the same time it isn't any old cocktail bar so you get what you pay for! Enjoyed the views and drink was pretty nice too. Not somewhere I'd go regular but perfect for special occasions or if you've never been before, this was my first time going as im always looking for new things to do when I visit Manchester to experience a variety of things to do! Recommend it! Glass floor is a nice touch too!

23 floors in 23 seconds... What can I say about this very impressive bar and restaurant? Definitely 'room with a view' with 360 panoramic view of Manchester and beyond. From Castlefield and Deansgate at ground level to the hills surrounding the city. We didn't eat anything from the restaurant but we did see someone have an afternoon tea. We looked at the menu and everything on it looked so delicious but we decided to sample the cocktails instead. Very reasonably priced and very flavoursome... I think the ambience at night would be equally spectacular as the views during the day.

Nestled in the vibrant Ancoats area, The Jane Eyre is a charming neighborhood bar that serves up some of the best Sunday roasts in town. With an enticing menu featuring roast beef, pork fillet, and even a vegan nut roast, there's something for everyone to savor. Complement your meal with an array of sides and small plates like prawn pil pil or chorizo in cider.
A really lovely Sunday lunch Casual, relaxed atmosphere, the food here was top notch. We started with the infamous ham croquettes which were by far the best we’ve ever sampled. Washed down with a couple of well made cocktails. Service was excellent and our Sunday lunch -one beef, one pork were both really delicious, sadly I did find my beef a little chewy but the whole plate was so delicious I chose not send it back. Regardless of this we’d certainly book again. A great find nestled in the midst of ancoats

Atmospheric 'neighbourhood bar' that lives up to the billing, serving a small but well curated selection of craft beers, wines and cocktails in cosy, dimly-lit surroundings.

My favourite cocktail bar in Ancoats (and probably in Manchester). They make superb classics - martini, negroni etc - but I also love all of their twists. You can tell them what they enjoy and they’ll make something they think you might like. Gorgeous atmosphere, lovely staff, all the vibes 🤍 P.s. their roasts on a Sunday are also top drawer!

Went here for a girls night out. Good vibe and staff are very friendly. However there are very limited food options and they are pricey for the quantity. Ended up spending £40pp for 2 cocktails and a few small plates each.

Absolutely outstanding Sunday Roast at The Jane Ayre. We had the special rolled pork which had delicious crispy crackling, full of flavour and came with stuffing. Visitors praise the delicious cocktails and appreciate the seasonal menu concept. Guests highlight the amazing house cocktails and fresh ingredients, as well as the quality craft that goes into each drink.
The hidden gem of Manchester! Love this bar 😍 after discovering this place and going multiple times, this place is a no brainer if you're going out for cocktails. When the NQ is charging similar prices for terrible cocktails in comparison, you may as well go here for beautifully crafted cocktails. The taste of all of them is so good! The service is always super friendly, which is so refreshing when I feel like you don't get great customer service these day.

Very lovely cocktail bar that fits well into the Manchester area. It has a different menu and feel to other cocktail bars around. They all do their own thing really well and Blinker fits in excellently. They have a martini menu of varying types, an Old Fashioned menu of varying types, the classics, then a changing seasonal/monthly menu of something new (as well as nice beer/wine/spirits etc.). The space is great, the staff were very welcoming, it was all really great and we'll look forward to going back. They also do lovely toasties if you're peckish. Go visit. It's great.

Outstanding service and drinks in a modern city bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Manchester, the minute you walk in you are greeted and made to feel welcome by the staff who are incredibly knowledgeable on the menu they serve. We decided to get some drinks on the menu and a drink off menu (a sweet Manhatten). All the drinks were made with great care and were delicious. The prices were also really good for such a skilled bar. To top it all off with the service even more, the staff are incredibly attentive and on it when it comes to serving you once you finish your drink. The atmosphere inside is also lovely, the music is just at a level to be heard but also so you can easily talk with each other at the table. We will definitely be returning and next time be trying some of the food!

Over used phrase I suppose but Blinker is a hidden gem on the Manchester bar scene - quietly getting on with producing incredible (creative) drinks with a monthly season rotation too. NQ64 Arcade Bar in Northern Quarter is a hidden gem tucked away behind Afflecks, offering a nostalgic experience with its dark, graffiti-covered ambiance and an array of vintage arcade games from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The bar features classic consoles like N64, SNES, and PlayStation loaded with games such as Mariokart and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Had a great time with my fiance. We grabbed 2 pots of tokens and went on as many games as we could. Loved the basketball, dance mats and pinball! We also had the 4 newest cocktails and they were all delicious
Elysia. O — Google review
Cool bar with some free to play consoles as well as paid machines that take tokens which your purchase at the bar. Nice welcome from an American sounding lady on entry but the bar server was fairly subdued, seemed like she didn't really want to be there & is fairly slow. We attended as part of the cocktail week, the cocktail was half a tumbler (saw it being poured before ice was added) of what looked like 2 premixed drinks with a full glass of ice, you would normally pay more for it as it appeared to board behind the bar as a standard option.
C S — Google review
Great bar with plenty of different retro games to play, food is good. Service is average but the staff are nice. Plenty of room for seating in all party sizes. It’s a dark place when you go into the arcade and they have a good range of drinks. The outside area has plenty of seating, it is a very chilled out area with its own bar.
Sean B — Google review
Visited on a Saturday night and had a great time. Staff were very friendly, cocktails were delicious and wonderfully presented, customers are a chill crowd. The reason I’m writing a review is just to feed back that I think the music is way too loud. At the risk of sounding like an old man, I find it difficult to have a group experience when I have to shout into the ear of the person next to me. To be honest I don’t think this is a problem unique to NQ64 and I worry for the hearing of bar staff (in all bars) when our watches are warning us about hearing damage on a night out and they’re in that environment all the time. As I say I’m really trying to not sound too negative, I really enjoyed my visit and will be recommending to anyone I speak to and definitely planning to return. Just wanted to feedback on the noise level. Music itself was fantastic but would have enjoyed more if the levels could be trimmed down closer to 100db.
Jim M — Google review
This was a fantastic venue for gaming, where we were checked in promptly after showing our tokens from another NQ64 in Leeds! Games like Q-bert and Tron are fun additions here, Star Wars is fast to keep up with all the spaceships as they shoot towards us. Shooting games like Big Buck Hunter are fun with the real sized pistols or shotguns, enjoyed car racing on Mario Kart. OutRun 2 SP was the best racing game as we could compete to win a women's heart by overtaking one another, staff were helpful when machines didn't work and toilets kept clean!
K. P — Google review
First time at NQ64 and definitely enjoyed our time here! It all started with the lovely host who welcomed us very friendly, thank you Katelyn! She sold us some shots that definitely got us started! The arcade is such a vibe! Definitely worth going with friends to just have fun!

So I've been to a few and was on town, decided to drop in, and it did not disappoint. Cocktails were well named and tasty. Highly recommend you heading in the area.

What an absolute legendary experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with the amazing choices this location offers. Had an afternoon tea in the solarium. As frequent travellers we look to enjoy the best possible experience and atmosphere when abroad, this place delivered in spades. Thankful to have had this wonderful opportunity and hope to return in the years ahead.

Lovely pub with absolutely gorgeous decor and amazing service. The food however, is not it. We only enjoyed our small plates and snacks, and the vegetarian options. The other plates were not very interesting for the price. I also ordered the steak done medium rare, and it was clearly rare (still pink on the outside). Will definitely go back for the drinks though, the cocktails are lovely and the vibes are immaculate.
Sohini D — Google review
This place restaurant is special to my partner and I. It’s been the restaurant of choice for a few momentous occasions, we love the architecture, the vibe and the food. We had family in town and decided to share our ‘happy spot’. We were shown to our table straight away and settled in. The menu has changed but it’s still a collection of small and large plates good for sharing or as a main with a side dish. Sadly I don’t think our waitress was ‘in the mood’ to work that evening… We had a few allergies within our group that needed some discussion, she clearly didn’t know the menu and seemed to be busy in her head with other things than the job at hand… We wanted to venture down the wine list but again there was no advice or knowledge. The food was delicious and side dishes abundant as usual but the lack of service continued, we had to find and even cajole our server every time we wanted to order additional items. We shared a few desserts and quickly left after begrudgingly paying service charge for no service! Working in the industry We hate to remove the service charge as the team need to tips…. Funny though, she was quick enough to write her name on the £250 bill when it arrived. We did e mail the hotel to give some feedback but sadly a month later still no reply. We love this place and the hospitality industry is a tough place to be right now. We take the time to feedback because we care. Thank you

The food at refuge is always fantastic and this time was no different, shout out to the hispi cabbage with miso and duck fat crumble, it was unbelievable, also the beef cheek nugget soo very good. The service was ok but considering how quiet the restaurant was we had to wait quite a while to order food, once ordered it came quickly they also did not add all we had ordered so there was a few things missing but to be honest we would have orders too much if we had got it all. We orders cocktails at the end of the meal which were pretty disappointing, that’s the second time in a row where that has been the case now and expected it to be a blip last time. It’s such a shame as we have always loved going here for cocktails. It won’t stop us going for food as there are other drinks obviously but not sure we would order a cocktail again.

The Refuge is truly one of Manchester’s hidden gems. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance. I went there for dinner with friends, and everything from start to finish was flawless. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making us feel well taken care of without being intrusive. The food was outstanding fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. We also tried a few cocktails, which were some of the best I’ve had in the city. Whether you’re going for a special occasion, a date night, or just drinks with friends, The Refuge never disappoints. I can’t wait to go back!

Me and my boyfriend went for our anniversary and got the roast for 2 which was £69 (HAHAH) It was so good! I visited for the first time, and I can say it was an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening. The place was buzzing with energy, and it was clear that everyone was having a great time. There are different dart games to suit all levels and abilities, making it perfect for both beginners and more experienced players. The service was great —friendly, attentive, and super quick. The drinks menu is impressive, with a wide variety of cocktails to choose from, all of which were delicious. We easily spent a few hours there, enjoying the games, drinks, and overall vibe. Given how popular it is, I’d definitely recommend booking in advance to ensure you get a spot.

Extremely friendly staff and such a fun atmosphere! We didn't play darts but Alex Limb made us feel very welcomed to the bar. I have a dairy allergy and they also had vegan options.

Friendly vibe for sure in here, i remember fixing the doors on here a few years back and always seemed to go for a drink in here. The decor is what makes this place, it’s very old school carnival vibes or like Joker’s funland is the Batman Games. Cocktail choice is plenty and they are super tasty, i remember going to electric shuffle which is the same menu and loving how they make their drinks, especially the trophy.

Museum
The Science and Industry Museum in Manchester is located on the site of one of the world's first modern train stations, offering a captivating exploration of the city's industrial history and its ongoing contributions to science and technology. The museum showcases 250 years of innovation, from its impact on the textile industry to advancements in modern computing and the development of graphene.
I only spent about 30 minutes here, and to me it felt much more geared towards families and kids rather than adults. If I had visited with a child, I’m sure I would have stayed longer and found it more engaging. On my own, I just walked through quite quickly. Definitely a good recommendation for families with children, especially on a rainy day. For adults, I think the experience is more limited. The best part: it’s free to visit.
Juri R — Google review
The museum was excellent and paid for entry into the "Power Up" exhibition which all the family enjoyed as it had retro computers and consoles that brought back happy memories of our childhood and our kids loved trying those games out too but ended up playing on what they know best Minecraft. An enjoyable day to pass the time and the science and technology free exhibition was good as it had hands on exhibits. Only problem we found was trying to find parking but that might be because it was the school holidays. We would definitely visit again.
Chris C — Google review
Free entry, with recommended donation of £5. Currently undergoing a big refurbish only a small part of the exhibits are currently on display. They had a good section on weaving, and a nice memorial for Stephen Hawkins. Upstairs is a hands-on science exhibit which was fun for the kids. When we visited they had a retro gaming interactive exhibit, which was an extra charge but great fun playing some older games and seeing old consoles. Worth popping in if you are nearby visiting crystal maze live for example, but don’t expect to spend more than a couple of hours in its current limited capacity.

A well organised museum charting the history of industrialisation in and around Manchester. Lots of interactive and interesting information and very much geared towards families with children. There’s a small section off the main hall on Stephen Hawkings which was fascinating! Upstairs on the first floor is full of children’s activities. Then across the square is the building that houses the steam engines! There was a very enthusiastic chap that explained the Pender engine and got the audience involved. And had a surprised brass band playing too! It’s free to enter, and they encourage you to make a donation!
Elisa W — Google review
The Manchester Science and Industry Museum is an absolutely fantastic place to visit, especially for families with children. One of the best parts is that entry is completely free, which makes it even more amazing considering how much there is to see and do inside. The museum is both educational and entertaining, offering a wide variety of interactive exhibits that stimulate children’s curiosity and creativity. There are hands-on activities designed to develop motor skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities — perfect for kids who love to explore and learn by doing. You can find fascinating displays about the Industrial Revolution, machines, technology, and even silk production, all presented in a way that’s engaging and easy to understand. The museum does a great job of connecting Manchester’s rich industrial history with modern scientific innovation. It’s also a great place for adults — the exhibits are well-organized, informative, and full of historical details about how Manchester played a key role in shaping the world of science and industry. Overall, it’s an inspiring, educational, and fun museum that truly captures the spirit of discovery. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you’re traveling with children or simply love science, technology, and history.

This Museum locates on the Liverpool Street, Manchester M3 4JP. The Museim has just finalised a partial renovation and now the main gallery is open again for visitors. It is free. It is worthwhile to spend a half- day visit, bringing with your kids. Let the kids explore the industrial development history throughout the centuries of Manchester. Here in this Museum, you can have an exhibit of the "Baby Computer" proudly invented by the scientists from the University of Manchester. In contrast with the nowadays computers, the first generation was much larger than the present user- friendly ones. The present ones are easily hand carried. The old and sizable generation ones were set up, occuping in a floor of building by a series of cabinets froming the the body of the computing compartment - containing numbers of cathodes and vacuum tubes. Now, you may feel surprised by the scientists who had made the advancement of our livings. There, you can find the printing history and its innovation. The museum displays the first typographic machine. It was used to replace the ancient workloads by hand picking up each alphebetical lead words from trays. It was a very tensive labour consumption by very complicated procedures. Manchester was once a renowned textile empire as a leader in the world. Thanks for the industrial revolution

Top Manchester attraction for all ages. Best of all it’s mostly free apart from the occasional special exhibition. Also really easy to either park outside on a metre or one of the many local car parks.

Albert's Schloss in Manchester is a Bavarian-style beer cellar that offers traditional German food and a variety of pilsner beers on tap and in bottles. It's known as a top spot for brunch, featuring a menu with options like the Cook Haus breakfast, Salmon Royale, wild mushroom and spinach toast, and the Schlossage Sandwich. The establishment also bakes its own breads, pastries, cruffins, and kronuts in-house every weekend.
I absolutely loved my experience at Albert’s Schloss in Manchester! The ambiance is beautiful, warm, lively, and full of character. The food was incredibly good; I tried the eggs + mushrooms, the Shakshuka, the cappuccino, and the Bono chocolate. My favorite had to be the eggs with mushrooms, so delicious. The service was outstanding as well. Our waiter was very sweet, super friendly, and made the whole experience even better. I also really enjoyed the overall vibes, a perfect mix of energy and coziness. I would definitely come here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Manchester!

Albert's Schloss brings a real taste of Oktoberfest to Manchester, and it's hard not to get swept up in the lively yet relaxed atmosphere. We went in the evening and the place was absolutely buzzing with people - it felt festive without being overwhelming. The live performance kicked off around 8pm, adding great energy to the night and making it feel more like an event than just dinner. Food-wise, we shared a platter for four that came piled high with pork knuckles, a variety of sausages, schnitzels, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and sauerkraut. The portion was generous and everything was cooked really well - hearty, comforting food that suited the setting perfectly. Drinks were another highlight, with an extensive selection of beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. The beer in particular was spot on for the theme. Overall, Albert's Schloss is a great choice if you're after good food, plenty to drink, and a lively night out with a Bavarian twist.

Albert’s Schloss in Manchester never disappoints. I visited on 24th August for Sunday lunch with my Nan, Aunt and two friends for a birthday celebration, and, as usual, it was beautiful. The portions are generous, the pork knuckle was so huge it was impossible to finish, and all the accompaniments were cooked to perfection. From start to finish, the food and service were amazing. I especially want to highlight our waitress, who went absolutely above and beyond when my friend was taken ill and had to leave dinner early. She was outstanding and really tried to make everything better. A huge thank you to her and kudos to the staff. 🙏🏻

Having recently fallen in love with the food, drink, and atmosphere of Bavaria itself, I was lucky enough to stumble across this restaurant in Manchester via Google Maps. My timing must have been perfect, as the Oktoberfest specials were still running. I must emphasize that this was, without question, the best meal I have ever had at any restaurant, ever. The moment I approached, the curb appeal filled me with confidence. The place looked as though it had been lifted straight out of Bavaria and perfectly placed in Manchester. Upon entry, I was blown away. The interior featured a nicely laid-out dining area to the left, a cozy open fire with surrounding seating directly ahead, and large, long wooden tables and benches to the right, all backed by an impressive bar stocked with real German draft beers and a separate cocktail bar to the left. The setting was truly stunning. I was seated in a booth and immediately ordered the Schweinshaxe—the Crispy Bavarian roasted pork knuckle. The menu described it perfectly: "brined for 12 hours before being rubbed in spices and roasted for 3 hours. Served with braised red cabbage and apple and a rich red wine gravy." I paired it with a real Bavarian Weißbier (wheat beer), it was simply divine. The pork nuckle was huge and mainly meat which was fork tender and not too fatty, it had the most perfect crackling too. The braised red cabbage and red wine gravy paid beautifully and cut through the richness of the meat, all that for £19.50. This dish is too good to be seasonal; they absolutely need to add it to the menu all year round! The staff were brilliant throughout the meal. I was served by Alexandro, who was exceptionally polite and attentive. The combination of incredible food, authentic atmosphere, and excellent service made for an unforgettable dining experience

Had a great night out! The food was spot on, and the drinks were perfect—definitely no complaints there. The team really made the experience special with their warm welcomes and checking in on us throughout the night. Only downside was the music was a bit too loud to have a decent chat, but everything else was a solid 10/10. Looking forward to coming back!

I just celebrated my birthday and book release ("Sun-Kissed and Sidetracked") here, and I couldn’t be happier! The service was top-notch; the team greeted me warmly and made me feel really special. The food and drinks were delicious, and everything came out super fast. A lovely complementary dessert plate made my day. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone wanting a memorable meal! Looking forward to our next visit!

We visited for a birthday lunch, joined by my wife and daughter. We ordered three drinks – a Long Island Iced Tea, a Virgin Mojito, and a Forest Fruit Sour – all of which were well presented and enjoyable. For food, we had the Schweinshaxe, Schnitzel Cordon Bleu, and Mushroom & Spinach Mafalde. The Schweinshaxe came with a side of sauerkraut which was slightly on the sweet side – quite different from what I’ve had in Germany. While the sweetness might have been intended to balance the richness of the pork knuckle, it didn’t quite cut through the fattiness as expected. The crackling was perfectly crisp and the fatty layer underneath was soft and flavourful, but the lean meat was a little overcooked and therefore slightly tough. The Schnitzel Cordon Bleu was nicely prepared overall, though the texture of the meat was on the firm side – perhaps due to the cut used. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Mushroom & Spinach Mafalde. The pasta had a delightful chewiness, and the sauce was rich, creamy and full of flavour. Overall, the food was quite good, though the seasoning leaned a little heavy for my taste. The service, however, was excellent – Greg was polite, friendly and had a great sense of humour, and the other male waiter, though he didn’t mention his name, was equally courteous.

Had a fantastic experience here tonight. One of my favourite dishes when I go to Germany is Schweinhaxe. As it is Oktoberfest season, this was on the menu as a special... so I had to didnt I? Started with a warm pretzel served with a sweet sticky mustard sauce and pickled sliced cucumber. Delish!!! I ordered the afore mentioned main with roasted potatoes. I didn't really need them, as the portion was huge, but they were also delicious as was the spiced red cabbage the knuckle sat on. Tender pork with crunchy and chewy crackling, all washed down with superb beer. A grand meal! I hadnt booked, but was accommodated with my dog. Overall, a great atmosphere, beer and food. But what was OUTSTANDING was the service from Afi, my server, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. Great service makes such a difference. I wont hesitate to return when I'm next in Manchester!

I came last night for a Bottomless Brunch for my partner’s birthday and we really enjoyed it. The food provided was excellent quality as were the cocktails. We received some cocktails we hadn’t asked for so we informed the staff who said we could keep them as well as the drinks we did order so we definitely ended up getting more than our money’s worth of drinks in the hour and a half we were there. Sometimes at a Bottomless Brunch the service can take a while but here the staff were very attentive and ensured the second our glasses were close to empty that they took our next order and the drinks arrived promptly. Although all of the staff were fantastic, special mention goes to Niyah for her brilliant customer service skills and stunning personality. I can confidently say she’s one of the best. Really cosy place, felt really relaxed here. Quite busy even for a weekday which is great for business. A menu is definitely needed for this place, not knowing what the prices of somethings are is quite a gamble. Had my 30th in the basement downstairs which was amazing. Such a great room for a private function, the staff working on the bar were all fab and helped make the night run smoothly. Would definitely recommend as a venue for private hire. Some issues with a few people coming into the room after visiting the toilets as they’re situated right next it so did have to ask people to leave a few times. Had to chase email responses a lot but appreciate they are a busy bar with lots of different events on. Overall a great experience!

Well, this might be my new favourite pub in the centre of Manchester. They have an abundance of sofas, twinkly lighting, a suoer friendly atmosphere, and a great music playlist. I left just before the live music act started, but that is a thing here, too.
Steven C — Google review
We booked The Whiskey Jar’s basement bar for our wedding celebration party, we paid extra for DJ equipment and setup… only to arrive and find nothing set up at all. I had to locate and connect everything myself, then the cartridges for the decks were missing, the bar manager ran all over the northern quarter trying to looking some, came back with one working one and one faulty one. Our poor DJ had to limp through on one deck for 2.5 hours before they sorted it. Hardly ideal for wedding party vibes! For over 100 guests, they staffed the bar with one inexperienced barman for the majority of the 7 hour night— who openly admitted he didn’t know how to make even an Aperol Spritz (cocktails are apparently a specially in here!)— and the bar wasn’t even properly stocked (no Jack Daniels, really?). It ran out of glasses constantly, and guests were being told to go upstairs to get drinks… which conveniently helped the venue avoid hitting the £2000 spend target for free hire. We ended up paying over £500 on my wife’s card because the basement bar only made £1500 — yet guests were literally being redirected upstairs. The whole thing felt amateurish and poorly managed. For a venue that trades on a cool reputation, they should know how to run a private event. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend The Whiskey Jar for any party you actually care about. To make matters worse, the customer service after the event was just as bad. My wife sent multiple emails outlining the problems and issues— and received very little response at all.

A great cocktail bar tucked away upstairs on a side street. The waiter provided cocktail recommendations and brought the drinks to our table. We didn't eat, so I'm unable to review the food. I visited on Wednesday for the Women in Comedy Festival with the amazing Ladies Who Improv performing. I was a bit confused about the entrance, but found the way Google maps highlight which side of the building the entrance is on very useful. He Fitz decor and atmosphere are amazing. The booths are bad - not comfortable and realistically fit 3 people or 4 children - but the rest was great, including the cute stage. They stock Ting. I love Ting.
Dawid G — Google review
This was really disappointing. It should have been such an excellent night, it still was in fact. However, the attitude of the woman running a comedy night was so poor. It put most of the audience in a bad mood before the comedy started. She kept insisting nobody used the booths because it would ruin the show as the audience would feel empty. I said okay. If it gets full can we move into a booth? She said no, they were closed. However there was plenty of people in booths by the end. Not sure if she gave up fighting with everyone, however she created such an atmosphere that she really ruined the enjoyment. I spoke to her after with an asked why people were saw the boots and she said they were comedians. They were not. Some of the people weren't even paying to be there for the show and to just stayed on from being in the bar beforehand. Wine choice was terrible... Three different cheap red wines available. We shared a bottle and add a terrible headache the next day. Toilets are pretty dirty and often had long queues and no toilet roll. The acts were pretty good. Cocktails were good. Service at the bar was very good and the singer who came on after the women in comedy was brilliant. Paramored I think?? Made out evening... 20/10

We have been meaning to go here for a while and finally managed to and were not disappointed at all. From being greeted and seated at the door from the fab waiters who explained the history of the bar and the drinks they make. The bar decor is so I’ve and gives vibes of a subterranean bar way back when. There was a jazz trio playing fab music and the music wasn’t too loud so we were still able to chat. Yes it’s pricey, but it’s fully worth the money, cocktails were priced at £15 but I think you can see what you are paying for. I’d love to keep it a secret, but I also think it’s worth shouting about

We ordered the prime rib - which was moreish and excellent, all the sides were also so delicious! Cocktails were truly some of the best we’ve had. Our visit overall was a 10/10 - we had such a great time and cannot wait to visit again! Would highly recommend ✨

Myself and my family had lunch here today for my brother’s birthday and it was fantastic! From start to finish the whole experience was amazing and one of the best meals I’ve had for a while. We all went with the set lunch menu at £26 for three courses and I couldn’t fault it, every course was delicious. Our server Amber was so kind, friendly and attentive, she really made our dining experience that much better, even going so far as to notice that none of us were drinking alcohol and then brought my brother over a non alcoholic cocktail on the house for his birthday. Such a great experience and we will certainly be back !

Best steak in Manchester! It's a busy restaurant but the service is always top notch. The steaks are cooked exactly as asked (our party had the full range) and are top quality. The sides are perfect too. The creamed spinach is something! Always a good spot for casual nights out with friends or a special occasion.

One of the best dining experiences I've had... Everything from the service, the food, the wine, the cocktails and atmosphere were faultless. Yes it was pricey, but it was an experience I'd save up to do it all over again! 10/10

I had dinner at Hawksmoor Manchester on a weekday evening and was impressed to see how busy it already was. The space itself is large and beautifully designed, with warm, dim lighting that gives it a stylish but welcoming feel. The atmosphere was lively, with a good buzz around the room. We ordered the Porterhouse, and I have to say the fillet side was excellent - tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to the doneness I like. The ribeye was also enjoyable, though not quite as memorable. The bone marrow, while rich and flavorful, leaned a bit too much on the salty side for me. In terms of quality, the steaks here can stand alongside some of the better-known spots in New York, though perhaps not quite at the level of the very top steakhouses there. Still, it's an impressive offering for Manchester, and definitely worth visiting if you're a steak lover.

The food at Hawksmoor is fantastic! Potted beef starter was excellent and the steak was incredible, will definitely be returning. Forgot to take a photo of the sticky toffee sundae but needless to say that was delicious as well. The staff couldn’t do enough to ensure our table of 7 had a brilliant experience.

We went to Hawksmoor for my mother-in-law’s birthday, and it was absolutely spot on from start to finish. The Sunday roast was everything you hope for — perfectly cooked meat, golden roast potatoes, and sides that made you question your life choices for ever eating elsewhere. The staff deserve a special mention: attentive without hovering, friendly without trying too hard, and genuinely good at making you feel looked after. You can tell they know their stuff and actually enjoy what they do. We left full, happy, and already plotting our next visit (any excuse for another roast, really). Highly recommend if you want great food, great service, and a guaranteed good time — even with your mother-in-law in tow!

Was really not planning on visiting this place in July 2025, but it popped up on a search for Sunday Roast and claimed to have been twice voted the best Sunday lunch in the UK. So I decided to venture forth but with no expectations really. Hawksmoor's is housed in a lovely building and upon entry I was greeted with a wide smile and shown to my table upstairs. I was probably one of the first customers so reservations were not needed. The place looked rather fancy while the staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. I ordered the Sunday Roast and their Hawksmoor Lager and I have to say I was a little disappointed that the lager came in a can as I was expecting a draught. Nonetheless, the beer was good. To say that the food was good would be a disservice - It was exceptional! It would probably rank as one of the best if not THE best Sunday Roasts I have ever had and believe me I've had quite a few from all over the world. Everything was done just right. The meat was tender and flavourful. The potatoes crispy on the outside and fluffy inside while still being firm. Even the cabbage and greens were tasty and the roasted garlic added a lovely touch. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and again done just right. I'm usually not a gravy person, preferring to enjoy my Roast with English Mustard and Horseradish but the gravy was so good I finished it all with the Yorkshire pudding and potatoes. Having enjoyed the Roast so much, I had the Chocolate Anglaise for dessert. This was choc ganache with coffee ice cream surrounded by a chocolate biscuit. It was more than delightful and I recommend it for all chocolate lovers! This was an amazing experience for me at Hawskmoor and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it highly to everyone. By the time I had finished my meal, the place was crowded so it is obviously popular. Thank you to all the staff and Hawksmoor especially Noah whose name is the only one I can recall. One of the very few places to get 5 stars from me as I dont give them out easily.

Gorilla is a trendy bar and club located under railway arches in Manchester. It offers a grill menu, a gin parlour, and live music, making it a popular medium-sized music venue in the city. The 600-capacity venue hosts various artists and stages at music festivals like Dot To Dot and Manchester Psych Fest.
What can I say about gorilla...it's an amazing place to have an amazing meal & the atmosphere & staff are all welcoming & can't do enough to accommodate you. Me & my hubby went on valentines day (which is also my birthday) & we had an excellent service and an awesome meal would definitely be returning...5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

RUBY, ALICE and all the team at Gorilla are fantastic. What a really welcoming, friendly and electric experience. We came to the City for a Gareth Emery set in the club and we had an amazing time which was partly made possibly by the experience with staff here. We came for a nosey before the gig and a quick drink in the bar area and were greeted with smiles in what was a really friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The doorstaff were all friendly enough and had some humour about them which is always a positive, and the night was an absolute belter. Visited again for breakfast the next day which was lovely and again with more cheerful and helpful staff. A venue that does it all and very well indeed. We didnt get any other names but all the staff we encountered were excellent. Thanks for a great experience and we wish your venue the best of success for the future. ❤️ ❤️🕺💃🎉🎉🎊🔉🔉

Gorilla is both a restaurant and music venue. We stayed for food, which was excellent, as was the service - thanks Ros. I'd have given it a 5⭐ review except we needed to use the accessible toilet, but it was broken. Other than that it's well worth the visit & I'd love to go again to try the Tacos. The gig venue is fantastic, well lit with an exciting animated backdrop for all the bands. Mainly standing, but there's a raised area at the back with seating for 12. If you need to sit, which we did, this was perfect. The most comfy gig I've ever been to and the only sitting gig I've not been annoyed by those around me. Amazing to see Dekaytah, Black Gold and the legendary Pitchshifter in such a cool venue.

Went with my wife to see Brigitte Calls Me Baby. Venue is great, only holds around 600 people so you're almost guaranteed a good view.
Neil H — Google review
Horrible venue, bouncers are there for nothing. People could faint and genuinely get hurt because no one is breaking up mosh pits especially in that small enclosed space. People violently pushing each other and the DJ/MC dont announce on the mic that people should chill out. Honestly it's too dangerous to go and should be locked off. If you go to uni of Manchester and you were there tonight shame on you because the amount of guys especially elbowing people and just aggressively pushing people around is a joke. Bring your manners with you, just because you've left home and you're not under your parents guidance doesn't mean you can leave your home training. It's a club not a rave and not a festival, if you weren't aware you need to get to know. Hellnova presented by nova pick a better DJ who is responsible. He doesn't know how to DJ and refuses address the chaos in the crowd. Plays music he knows is going to make problems, advertised as rnb, pop and rap. But what was played was drill and rap commonly played to make mosh pits. Again it would be fine if the venue was bigger or if the other section was open but no you crammed people in there. Horrible event and in any way that I can this place/event will get reported.
Rebecca T — Google review
I visited the music venue and not the bar. I went to watch White Lies. It was a great venue but way too crowded, uncomfortably so. People were stood in the entrance hallway as they physically couldn’t get in the venue. It was impossible to move around and get to the bar or the toilets. Security staff were getting annoyed at people being in the way although there was nowhere to move to. Other than that the sound quality was great and it’s a small enough venue that where ever you are able to squish into and stand you will have a good view.
Robert M — Google review
Worst service ever. Ordered drinks which were expensive to begin with but I can get passed that, but their coke ran out of syrup making it taste like soda water, would not give any refunds or substitutes. Manager came over and started demanding we delete our pictures of them, even though we didnt take any in the first place. Awful lot, for a club night I dont recommend going.

The Pen And Pencil is a New York-inspired all-day kitchen located in the vibrant Northern Quarter. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with exposed brick walls and a simple decor. Drawing inspiration from a famous mid-20th century New York bar, it serves an imaginative menu ranging from brunch to burgers, steaks to sandwiches, and delightful pancakes.
I was a little worried that the reviews I’d read about this place would be true for our visit, my friend booked the bottomless brunch as a birthday treat for me and we were not disappointed. The food was yummy, sausages on the burrito a little burnt but still delicious, steak was incredible, the special cocktail was delicious, the only thing that wasn’t great were the pancakes were a little bland and could’ve been fluffier but I’m just being picky now. The waitresses and waiters were brilliant the service was fast, we had 4 drinks within the first 40 minutes of being there and definitely had at least 13 rounds. The staff kept coming over and asking if we would like to order another drink I’d definitely go back. They were also really accommodating to my preference of no eggs I don’t have an allergy I just can’t eat them and they were happy enough to make sure they weren’t served on the plate. Can’t fault them really was a great experience.

A cute and vibey spot in the heart of Manchester! I always enjoy coming back to this place with my friends, whether it’s for drinks, brunch or a quick bite! The staff are always friendly but waiting times - particularly for food - can sometimes be long, especially if it’s a busy day. However, we did get a generous discount last time after waiting for our food for a substantial amount of time so cannot fault them! The interior is beautiful and food has always been tasty! Prices are competitive. Definitely give it a shot if you’re in the northern quarter! 👌🏻 8/10

During a recent weekend stay in Manchester, we had the pleasure of dining at The Pen and Pencil for breakfast. The experience exceeded our expectations—both the full English breakfast and the pancakes were exceptional. The service was efficient, and the staff were courteous and attentive throughout. We were so impressed that we returned the following day for a second visit.

We actually came here twice during our visit to Manchester because we enjoyed it so much! I'm genuinely surprised by the poor food reviews because both of our meals were delicious. The first day I had what can only be described as one of the best vegan breakfasts I've ever had, and the second day I had an exceptional veggie burger. The staff member serving us was just lovely, so attentive and friendly. Really nice vibe about the place. Hope to visit again in the future.

On arrival we were welcomed by staff and shown to a table. Shortly after we were asked what drinks we would like and they arrived quickly. We ordered food shortly after and waited. Food was very slow to arrive, approx 30 minutes. Table staff were great, beer is expensive, food was good at reasonable prices.

Love this place and we would 100% come back. From the minute you walk in the atmosphere is great, they have a great selection of drinks and something for everyone, the music is a perfect volume so you can hear each other but not anyone else, the service is bang on. We came on a monday and they had 50% off food. before we ordered, he advised certain items will have a £5 surcharge. The food is amazing and full of flavour, some of the best smash burgers we've had, and the pulled beef fries are to die for. The only reason the food got knocked down slightly is due to the chicken burger and the chicken tray, we found they were on the tougher side due to being fried for too long. The flavour was great, but it was only this that let it down....but in hindsight, we may have just got slightly unlucky Food 9/10 Service 10/10 Vibe 10/10

I have been here a few times over the years and always been meaning to leave a review. I have just been for lunch taking advantage of their £10 lunches & drink offer. I believe it was cheeseburger, chicken burger, half rack of ribs or 8 wings, from memory. Which is a great price in comparison to places around and it was deelicious! Highly recommend for lunch. The Britons Protection, located in Manchester, Greater Manchester, is a historic pub with ornate interiors and a wide range of whiskies. As one of the city's oldest watering holes, it boasts a collection of over 300 whiskies and offers a good selection of local ales. The spacious beer garden is a popular spot for visitors to enjoy the sunshine and relax. Additionally, the pub features open fires where patrons can unwind with a drink in hand.
This is still a great pub, but is no longer the whisky pub it once was. The cask ale is still great, with a good number of hand pumps from a nice range of breweries, but the whisky selection has been dramatically reduced since 2024 but is still above average. Regardless, a lovely old school pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

This is a gem of a place which looks and feels quaint, old British and charming. It fosters vibrant meetings and has some exquisite Victorian decor (if a tad unkempt). I already notice the William Morris wallpaper in the function room upstairs has been painted over, so I'm a bit worried that this direction might continue under the new (corporate ) owner, thus stripping it of its precious historic character. We have very few of these old pubs left, and it would hurt the local community endlessly for the Briton's Protection to also slip into mid grey corporate sludge. Historic heritage needs to be protected not painted over.

Together with another family with young children we visited Sixes before a football match for lunch. Everything was very clean, good food was served quickly, and the lady in charge cleared up a mix-up with my reservation very professionally. She made us all feel very welcome. The kids had a great time in the cricket nets. It was great that you can adjust the speed of the bowling for each player so that everyone had a challenge. A big shout out as well to the friendly bar man. Many thanks! Highly recommended!

Firstly we have to say we do love this place and despite living over 30 miles away we go get more than our local pub! We have 2 children a girl aged 10 and a little lad aged 6 and they both love cricket and enjoy trips to Old Trafford for the Blast and the Hundred. On our last trip we were fortunate enough to be offered a discounted net due to feedback from our previous session which was just a genuine point around ensuring staff are clear on the changes to the game format they had recently brought in as it was confusing. The staff led by Grace couldn’t do enough for us both pre and during the session for us and the kids. It was so nice that I wanted to be able to buy food as a bit of a thank you but they had run out of most things due to the popularity of bookings which wasn’t an issue. Kids enjoyed their net as usual with both kids getting their highest score ever at 96 and 51, my better half a hundred and Grace and her staff get to host the youngests 7th birthday party off the back of it so everyone’s a winner! Everything aside a great social occasion and adaptable to all needs. Thanks guys and might see you soon 🏏 🌹

We took advantage of the recent off peak 50% discount which made it excellent value! Really fun activity (even if you’re not very good at cricket)! Port Street Beer House is a haven for beer enthusiasts, offering an impressive selection of local, national, and international brews. With 25 pumps and around 120 bottled beers, this spot showcases the best from various breweries. The bar hosts regular meet-the-brewer evenings and themed beer festivals to keep things interesting. Even if you're not a brewing expert, the knowledgeable staff can guide you to find the perfect drink.
I always make an effort to visit here, it’s my favourite pub and well worth the 45 minute train journey! Nice staff and they always have decent beers on tap which are always changing and have a lot of bottles to choose from as well. There are board games and snacks too for those who fancy that.

Port Street Beer House opened in early 2011 and was the first of modern beer bars in the Northern Quarter, transforming a backstreet retail space into a vibrant pub. Outdoor seating at the front and a beer garden at the rear, with more seating on the first floor. The only downside is that the toilets are upstairs, which can create problems if you are disabled. Manchester illustrator David Bailey’s large cartoon mural on the exterior and framed prints inside add to the character of the pub. A great selection of draught and keg beers from 4% pale ales to 11% imperial stouts. When I visited, there was a 20% cask beer discount from noon to 4 PM, Monday to Friday.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY REVIEW: I am a wheelchair user and I would not describe this venue as wheelchair accessible. I came here for a stand-up comedy gig, only to discover the performance space is up a flight of stairs and there is no lift. There is a ramp up to the doors, but it is very steep and I needed someone else to push me to get up. There is a disabled toilet downstairs at the back, but none of the seating is appropriate for wheelchair users. There are raised tables with stools that are too high for a wheelchair user to sit at, and there are booths which have a step up to them so you can't bring a wheelchair right up to the table. So yeah, it's physically possible to get into the bar as a wheelchair user, but this is not really an accessible venue, and the performance space is entirely inaccessible. I'd advise other wheelchair users not to book tickets for an event here to avoid disappointment.

The definition of hospitality! Was there before a game and all the places around town were packed but I had so much fun in a couple of hours. If you are hungry order 4-5 food each and enjoy the drinks that are great (specially the Blood Mary)

Happy hour - 2 cocktails for £10! Encouraged in off the street by the doorman and very pleasantly surprised. Efficient bar staff made excellent cocktails and some of our group had food which looked very nice. Decor is cool, good music, and very relaxed.

Guests have enjoyed live music performances and found the staff to be warm and welcoming.
I had the pleasure of visiting this bar recently, and I have to say – it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is vibrant and classy, with music that perfectly sets the tone for a great night out. The staff is Absolutely amazing. Every single person was welcoming, professional, and genuinely cared about creating a positive, fun environment. Whether you're looking for a fancy night out or just want to be around great energy and people, this is the place to be. 100% recommend – and I’ll definitely be back!

Called in for one as I fancied a cocktail. Left over 3 hrs later! Great, friendly service. It was good seeing the mixologist in action doing her thing, even the boss was engaging which is always good to see. Decor is tasteful, definitely a venue to bring a date or mate. Highly recommend. I'll be back next time I'm in the city having a drink.

A fantastic bar in a lovely location - particularly if the weather is good enough to sit outside. I was there last night with a friend and the staff at Red Light (Jess and Sydney) were so friendly and engaging it was an absolute pleasure to be there. They were also highly accommodating and they are a credit to this great bar. Many thanks

Lovely small & inimate cocktail bar. Very friendly service from the moment we walked in. Delicious margheritas. I don't normally like loud dj music in a bar, but somehow it was perfect here.

It’s a friendly and inclusive place in the heart of the gay village, with amazing staff and delicious cocktails. I’ve been there twice and I can’t wait to come back. On both occasions, I didn’t manage to book in advance but the staff went the extra mile to find me and my partner a sit. Their cocktails are delicious and look gorgeous. They have a great variety of options and are able to accommodate modifications to their drinks which is a rarity. The place in itself is cosy and has a relaxing atmosphere. I felt at ease from the very first moment I walked in. I think people must definitely pay a visit. Thanks for the amazing service

Wow!! ....Had a very nice evening here at this hidden little gem. Love the decor very dark and moody, kind of like hotel Gotham, has a jazzy vibe to the place, and we loved the live band. Cocktails were like nothing i had before quirky yet delicious. I had The Red Light Calling, the Especiado, and my partner had a negroni. Our server Karris and Jay were so warm and welcoming. We will definitily be back here again. Thanks guys!

I can't stress how good the cocktails are! I myself am in the alcohol industry and I was absolutely impressed by the cocktail flavour balance, visuals and quite honestly the price. We in fact loved it so much that we went for a predinner cocktail and then followed up with post dinner. The Oishi was a take on the negroni (my global favourite) and I have tried thousands in my time and I can honestly say this will be top 3 (okay, it's not a pure classic). Wonderful balance and flavour! We will be back time and again when in Manchester.

29/10/22: what a fab bar. In fact, I'd say it was hidden and understated! I didn't even see any signage and was heading for Evelyns Cafe Bar instead (situated to the right of it) Instead we were directed down the stairs, into the grotto-esque Daisy. Dimly lit, candles adorning the bar, a small and expensive selection of coctails. We chose Espresso Martinis. The drink, albeit £10 and also quite small was made with love and kindness by the bar tender, who, definitely took pride in his making of the cocktail. Tasted delicious!

Went here on a Sunday afternoon and straight away took advantage of the 5 quid happy hour cocktail from 4 till 7 pm but be aware that only the 7.50 ones are part of the deal and not all of them, which is not well advertised at all. Didn't have food but it smelled amazing and visually great as well. Loved the shot with pickled juice on a side although is more like a spicy syrup and not literally pickled juice. Great espresso martini. A little more attention from.the staff is needed in my opinion but will come back for sure

Restaurant looks amazing such a cool bar. Tacos were really good for the price we went when tacos were £1+ each, I would highly recommended the chicken tacos they were delicious but the chilli beef tacos were not so good. Staff were super friendly and warm. Really good experience
Kiwi — Google review
I’ve recently been to El Capo twice for their “Tacos for Days” offer! This is their usual Tuesday and Wednesday night menu but they’ve extended it through the week for Jan and Feb. Tacos start at just £1 for fillings like chicken and go up to £2.50 for steak. They have halloumi, cauliflower and fish fillings for those who are on a more vegetarian or pescatarian diet. The choices are great and super flavoursome with the pork tacos being my favourite followed by the Corona fried fish! Delicious. They also do a bloody good margarita and their drinks offerings are amazing. The service is quite casual, as expect from the Northern Quarter and the tacos come out as soon as they’re ready pretty much. Overall a great dining experience and vibe for a mid week treat. Out last visit the bill came to £38 and we had 2 soft drinks and 8 tacos each between two of us…so very reasonable! The quality of these tacos are unreal…worth a visit!

Delicious food and cocktails. The wait time was quite long and not all of our food came out at the same time so some people had finished eating before others had started. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. There was some confusion over portion sizes with the main meal (further down) however, I know now what to order for next time and it did not take away from how delicious everything was everything was beautiful seasoned, the meat was tender and the different sauces were full of really tasty flavours. We were a bit confused over the portion sizes because some of us ordered the tacos as our main (where each of the 3 tacos were gone in 2 bites) and felt unsatisfied and others ordered the burritos which were massive and only just managed to finish them. They were both a main meal but just didn't seem the like the same quantity. So I would recommend with sharing tacos and burrito between 2 people or getting a couple of sides with the tacos.

It was meant to be my birthday meal from my wife. Table booked in advance for 8pm. We turned up on time and they couldn't find evidence of our order so we were sent upstairs for 30 minutes to get a drink. Eventually we were served. The food was OK but nothing special. We decided to go for ice cream and waited. And waited. We gave up and cancelled the ice cream. The bill came and the manager apologised for the rubbish service and heavily discounted the bill before deciding not to charge us. The integrity and apology from the manager served place from a one star rating from me.
Andrew L — Google review
Tasty food friendly staff and a great selection of tequila. I gave 4 stars as we had a table if 6 in the corner where the food comes out the table was poor quality more like a seesaw to be honest going up and down whatever side was leaning on it which resulted in many drink spilages. Also there was water dripping from the roof apparently from the bar area directly above us.

Came by for Sunday roast without a reservation and was pleasantly surprised by the accommodating staff, who kindly offered us seats at the bar while we waited for a table. Service throughout was warm, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The beef was advertised as being served pink, but mine arrived fully cooked through, and the pork belly lacked the crisp crackling that makes it a standout. A bit of a letdown, considering the promising start and overall good service.
Melissa K — Google review
Trof in the Northern Quarter is a great spot for casual food and drinks. The vibe is relaxed with a vintage feel, spread over a few cosy floors. I’ve had brunch and Sunday roast here, both solid. Service is friendly and the playlist is always on point. The roast comes with crisp potatoes, rich gravy, and a proper Yorkshire pudding. They also do a decent veggie burger. It’s not overly busy on weekdays, so it works well for a quiet pint or catch-up. The drinks menu is varied with good bourbon choices. A reliable place that doesn’t overdo it.
Patrik K — Google review
We went in for a roast after a long walk the other day and were really looking forward to some nice food. Unfortunately the roast was subpar, as was the pigs in blankets and the cauliflower cheese. Firstly: the roast. Our Yorkshire pudding was burnt (and the table next to us was also), the chicken was dry and the potatoes weren’t cooked properly on the inside. However, the veg and gravy were very good and saved it a bit. Secondly: the pigs in blankets. They weren’t cooked to my liking and then sausage was a bit soft inside, and the bacon was no where near as crispy as it should be. They looked a bit anemic in general. Lastly, the cauliflower cheese looked incredible and we only ordered it after seeing the table next to us get one. However, once you’re past the top of the dish, it’s just a bit underwhelming. Don’t let the look of it fool you, the cheese all seems to be on top and cooked to look nice but wouldn’t recommend.

I visited on Saturday 19th April with myself and the other half for a spot of lunch time food. I had the chop of the week which was the Old Spot (pork) and was very nice they had the fish pie which looked just equally appetising. We both enjoyed the food and the drinks/service were faultless. I’ve been numerous times before and never had a bad experience. Finally getting around to doing a review.

Not the best experience in Manchester. As for the food - I had a full English breakfast, it was delicious and really filling, the girl had avocado toast, it was on regular bread and overall it tasted pretty weird. As for the serving - there are a few weird moments: the spoon they served the latte with was completely dirty (as if they mixed it up and brought it unwashed), there were two hairs in the food (one in the latte, the other in the egg with avocado toast), the table was really dirty and sticky (my plate was so stuck to the table that I couldn't move it lol). As for the staff - everyone was really nice and sweet, thank you for everything!

Been here for a drink years ago, not been back since until friends told us they do a nice Sunday Roast. Being dog friendly was a bonus too. Great staff on entering and during the visit. Only issue was took 20 mins+ to get the plates taken away for the roasts. Have to say the Sunday Roast was one of the nicest we've had in a very long time!!! Yorkshire pudding wasn't rock hard like it is in most places, carrots and Roast potatoes had great flavours to them, big pieces of beef too. We had a 2 course deal for both of us, it was £24 each. Bill came to £77 in tota including 10% surchargel!!! Can see why alot of people can't afford to go out for a meal much these day 😪 we didn't even have any alcohol!!!

We held our wedding reception at Three Little Words in May 2024 after having several lovely meals (and more importantly gins) here and noting impeccable service and a beautiful venue. We hired the venue privately for 70 guests eating in a sit down meal and holding a total of 110 guests by evening for drinks and dancing. The first thing to note would be the incredible team that run Three Little Words. Despite not being solely a wedding venue, the organisation and accommodation that came from the team was second to none and if you are considering TLW as a wedding venue, the added flexibility of using a non traditional wedding reception is a real advantage with no strict supplier lists and openness with menu requests. On the build up to the wedding, Chloe and Kirsty (the event planning team) were incredible. They regularly communicated with me and made sure all of the finer details for our reception were noted and accommodated. The TLW's team (incl Chef, Bar Manager) were very honest and transparent throughout planning giving advice with costings and knowledge from their experience on the best way to run the day with timings to get the most out of their team. So many guests on the day said how good the food and drink was. Our vegan guests said they had never been so well accommodated and other friends said they had never been so well fed/it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We had the Sunday Roast as our main and it went down a treat for everyone. The portion was a great size and made sure nobody was too tipsy! The bar staff were amazing, with lots of friends saying how attentive and friendly the service was. We truly couldn't find a fault with the team. Thank you so much Three Little Words!

One of my favourite cocktail bars ever! This was my second visit, with a small group including a friend who comes about every 3 months. The staff always recognise him and treat us all as special customers. They are genuinely some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable, and conscientious people I’ve encountered in bars/restaurants. The cocktails are incredible. Well thought out and interesting flavour pairings. All of them work so well. We had a (free) blind gin tasting to celebrate World Gin Day, which was a nice added extra to our visit. Food - we had short ribs, crispy chicken, frickles, and focaccia to share. Again, beautifully presented, well-made and fabulous flavours. Very mellow afternoon vibe, nice music, comfy seats, nice loos, and the feeling of being valued customers for whom nothing was too much trouble. Not the cheapest place to eat and drink but well worth every penny. Fantastic place for a celebration - and it always feels like a special occasion in there! Nice to see that service is not automatically added to the bill and as in the old days they leave it to the customer to add a tip if it’s felt earned. (It was, and we did!)

I went to Three Little Words for their Sunday Roast a couple of Sundays ago and lucked out and managed to grab a walk in table around 3pm. Their Sunday lunch is £15 with a choice of two meat dishes, Beef or Pork and a vegetarian option, this particular weekend it was garlic mushrooms. A roast for £15 I thought was a very reasonable price! Especially once it arrived and the amount you got for your money…the only thing I would say was the cauliflower cheese was £5 extra…which for a third of the price of the roast itself, felt a bit steep but it was bloomin’ delicious. We ordered the beef and veggie option and the portion was a great size and nicely presented. Loads of variety of veggies and I especially enjoyed, what I believed to be, sliced up sprouts! All very well seasoned with lots of flavour in each element. The beef was cooked really well and the mushrooms were equally as delicious but I feel like there could have been more in comparison to the beef. Although we didn’t have a cocktail their cocktail menu was designed in a quirky fashion that resembled a Dulux colour chart, each cocktail broken up in categories like “floral” or “fruity” etc. I have had a cocktail here previously and definitely worth trying one or two. Overall the experience was great. The space felt busy but also intimate. The service was attentive and friendly from the lady who welcomed us to the guy who served us. A great Sunday meal that was definitely needed, would recommend to a friend.

I would say I’m quite an easy person who always gives out 5 star reviews, but this place is definitely a 10 out of 10 (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) We just walked past at the lunch hours and saw bunch of people having wings in the outdoor dining area which seems pretty cool and the wings look amazing so we popped in. I have ordered a classic flavour of boneless wings and my friend had the JD honey & mustard flavoured one. It was served hot and crispy, absolutely delicious! Most amazing part is the fried with old bay mayo, which surprisingly match and I really enjoyed it a lot. 😆

The wings were absolutely delicious perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Paired with the burger fries, it made for a super satisfying and filling meal. We had 10 wings each along with the burger fries, and it hit the spot! Highly recommend if you’re craving something tasty and filling.

Best food I've had since moving here a few days ago. The burger was so incredibly juicy it was dripping onto my hands. Good prices, friendly staff. Only downside personally is the music was a bit loud.

Bunny Jackson’s in Manchester is unapologetically dive bar and they own that brand, and I didn’t realise how much I would miss a spot like this till I walked in. From the dim, sticky ambiance and dated decor to their neon signs with the loud chatter and cheap drinks, this place knows it’s a dive bar and wears it proudly. There are even signs that say things like we are sticky and messy, we got a dog, we are loud and we don’t care if you care. And it’s packed even on a weekday. But here’s the best thing about this place is the chicken wings. They are the cheapest wings I have seen yet are the best I have had in the country. I saw folks walk in solo just for the wings and bar food. The drinks and beers are wallet-friendly too, They’ve got over tap beers plus shots for when you want to get the party going. In the end , Bunny Jacksons is dive bar at its finest, and I will be back next time I am in Manchester.
Vincen — Google review
The walls were plastered with decorations creating a cosy atmosphere. There is a variety of table sizes for many party sizes. There is a good selection of wings on offer. I listened to my friend's advice of ordering three portions of wings for myself. You can manage 15 wings. No I could not. I struggled to eat 10. The flavour of each was incredible. Honey and mustard, rum and sesame, and bbq. No faults on flavour. However, the flavours are very rich so I found I couldn't eat very many of them. If I was to go again. I think each of us should have ordered a different flavour and then shared them. 5 wings is enough. We did have two portions of water tots with this which are essentially mini crispy hash browns. They were flawless and an excellent break from the considerable amount of meat. I might have been able to eat more, if I had a side salad next to me. Cheap eat for the quantity of food.

Really great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I had the Bunny’s Hard Lemonade cocktail, a cheeseburger and deep fried pickles. In all honesty, the burger wasn’t great- it was dripping grease when I picked it up, but the fries were great. I also wasn’t a fan of the batter on the pickles, and it fell off very easily, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, pickles are a wet thing and I understand the batter sliding off. All in all, I’d definitely come back for drinks and to try the wings when I’m back in Manchester.

So glad I did my research and found this place when visiting Manchester! Wings were delicious and come in a few flavours! Also ordered the onion rings which were a little too greasy but the pickle dip was definitely unique! Service was lovely, staff are very friendly. Overall vibe of the place was nice too! The swamp dog cocktail was good to try! Very different choice of cocktails which was great 😊

Price is not too bad and the wings have increased in size since my previous visit! Really can't go wrong and has such a fantastic social atmosphere if you're looking to go with friends!

Another Heart To Feed is a trendy and relaxed spot in Manchester's Northern Quarter, offering an all-day dining experience with a modern atmosphere. This Melbourne-inspired coffee shop and kitchen serves up a variety of brunch options alongside excellent coffee from London's Union. With its Australian influence, the menu features classics like smashed avocado toast and poached eggs, as well as vibrant additions such as acai bowls and house-made beans on sourdough toast. The cafe also offers natural wines to complement the dining experience.
We're not usually people who would bother to queue for brunch, but this is always 100% worth it. Our approach is always to get the savoury and then the sweet french toast and share. Favourite brunch spot in the city.

So wanted to love this place, expectations rose with it a sunny Manchester Sunday morning. It was busy so a lengthy wait was inevitable and acceptable. Once inside, it immediately became apparent that there were quite a few empty tables. Nonetheless we placed our order, and waited, and waited, and waited... We built in to the equation that it was busy but it went beyond. Not great to see staff casually chatting away, and greeting friends, next to the bar. It felt that attention was elsewhere. I saw our food placed in the food delivery area it sat there, sat there and sat there... So once it was served, it was barely luke warm. A real shame as the food was potentially good.

+ the food was great and nutritious and fair for the price we paid! + the interior is nice and the music was good + the staff was really kind and helpful in interactions. - We were seated quite quickly but then we waited a long time to put in our order (even though there were basically no other people). eventually we ended up going to the waiting staff to order.

The salmon was lovely! 🌟 The portion is pretty big, i had a tough time trying to finish it on my own 😂 food arrived a bit later than expected despite not many people in the restaurant. Overall, its a decent restaurant 👍🏼

An amazing breakfast all day cafe in the heart of Manchester. Located just less than 10 minutes walking distance from Piccadilly circus. The cafe is lovely and cosy. They have a great variety of food and coffee. The service was quick and excellent and the staff were nice. The prices were good. The Turkish eggs were super delicious and a must to try.

A nice atmosphere! We went in a Sunday morning and it was very busy and took a while for things to arrive, which is understandable! The coffee was just fine, and the French toast was very tasty but defo a huge portion so would’ve shared ☺️ our waitress was lovely and very friendly- an overall nice brunch experience.
Emily G — Google review
I visited your restaurant last Monday and ordered the Turkish eggs. Unfortunately, shortly after the meal, I began experiencing stomach aches that have persisted throughout the week. I’m concerned that the dish may not have been prepared properly or safely, and I believe it’s important to bring this to your attention for the safety of other guests. Additionally, I was very disappointed by the behavior of one of your staff members. When I chose not to pay the service charge — which is optional — the blonde waitress treated me with clear rudeness and unprofessionalism. I found this reaction unacceptable and quite upsetting, especially considering I was already feeling unwell. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, both to improve food safety and to ensure guests are treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of payment choices. Thank you.

Great experience at this place on a Wednesday almost noon to try some breakfast food. They prepared the eggs to our liking. The French toast was wonderful and maybe enough to share. The latte was ok but maybe sweet for my taste.

Terrace NQ is a warehouse-style bar located in the Northern Quarter, featuring three leafy rooftop terraces and its very own well terrace for guests to enjoy. The venue has a cool, stripped-back decor and offers guest beers, cocktails, and pizzas. It also boasts a secret garden orientation with winding, nestled areas to explore and an outdoor bar. Despite its name, many are unaware of the impressive roof garden on top of the Thomas Street bar.
Huge, multi-area bar in the Northern Quarter, with several inside and outside spaces, including a substantial roof terrace. Decent selection of craft beers, bottles, and cocktails on offer. All brick walls, leather benches, and subdued lighting - very cool atmos!

This is a really nice welcoming bar that straddles two pedestrianised roads. They have a really great selection on tap and the staff are very nice. There is a good size terrace. However, I only lasted 20 minutes in the late February weather before I retreated back inside. The bar plays great music ( jazz funk disco whilst i was there ) and seems to attract a young trendy crowd, though I didn't feel out of place or unwelcome as a 50 plus year old. I didn't eat there, so I haven't rated the food.

Reneu is a vibrant pub-club tucked away in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. This new venue offers an eclectic mix of alternative gigs throughout the week, making it a fresh addition to the local music scene. Occasionally, they host Sunday shows — the perfect way to round off the week with good vibes and great sound. The aesthetic is on point, and the sound system is seriously impressive. Whether you're into dancing or just soaking up the atmosphere, Reneu delivers a top-notch experience for anyone looking to enjoy music in a unique setting.

Always loved terrace however, tonight we went as a group and one of our friends Was sick so a guy told us so politely we needed to leave. We said yeah no problem didn’t cause a fuss and understood. We got told to go out the back where there was a bouncer, older guy about 50 stocky who was so aggressive with us. I said sorry I’m just opening my umbrella. He slammed the door shut, I opened it up and he shouted something to me, I said this is a little dramatic he shouted something back to me which I couldn’t really understand. I told him his attitude stinks to which he replied so did mine (even though we barely exchanged words) pushed us all out and tried slamming the door so my friend was stuck between the door. Not really sure where the logic was in that as he wanted us out? Then proceeded to shove her. I’m sure this will be overlooked but think a word is needed. Don’t touch people, especially who are so small in comparison, I’m sure he wouldn’t touch his own daughter like that.

Will not be returning to this place! The manager jack is extremely unprofessional when dealing with situations, he snatched my phone out of my hand as I attempted to turn my torch on he was under the impression i was going on to my camera, before I could even turn the torch on MY phone was snatched from my hands by jack the so called manager, as proven on CCTV footage. The bouncers are aggressive and rude. As a women I did not feel welcomed by this place nor safe, and because of those actions by male staff I will not return and would not recommend young females to go either, as clearly the men like to take male dominance to their advantage.
Caitlin S — Google review
I would give terrace 0 stars if I could. We were in the queue and we got told by a bouncer we weren't allowed to drink. Bare in mind, (1) Other people were drinking (2) we were on the PUBLIC street, therefore we have every right to drink whatever we want (3) As soon as were told, we put the alcohol on the floor and said sorry, because we were unaware of the rule as we have never encountered this before anywhere else. The bouncers were extremely rude and we queued for over an hour, just for them to kick us out. I am extremely disappointed with the bouncers, and I want to get an answer from Terrace as to why we encountered this behaviour? This is unacceptable.

The Peveril of the Peak is a charming and unassuming pub with a classic green-tiled exterior. It offers various entertainment options such as beer, pool, darts, and a jukebox. The establishment is run by the owner of Port Street and Common bars along with the co-founder of Cloudwater brewery. Despite its modern exterior, the interior exudes comfort and coziness akin to traditional pubs.
A really good proper pub with good real ale available - there are both inside and outside areas depending on the mood of the weather at that particular moment. I only popped in for a half but will certainly come back when I'm next in town. And I particularly adore the old fashioned Northern Premier League ladder they have on display near the bar - managed to sneak a picture of it because I liked it that much! Proper northern heritage that is!

I took my friend to show him what I think is one of the most amazing pubs in Manchester, with great history, however when we visited at about 14.20 on Wednesday ( just in case the owner wants to speak to her ) the person behind the bar was the most miserable, unpleasant, uninterested bar person I have come across in a long time , she even struggled to ask for our order she was so disinterested Even when people were coming in from graduation, who were all very excited she just couldn’t be bothered speaking to anyone , apart from her friend at the end of the bar If I do visit again , and she is there we will just walk straight out and go somewhere we are welcome

Good offers, cheap prices, beautiful decor and excellent service. What more could you ask for? I loved my long conversation with the bartender, he seemed really engaged which is amazing and poured me a bottle that he had never poured before and that was delicious. Kinda looked like O’Shea Jackson

I came to Manchester to visit the university and had seen Atlas Bar online. I wanted to visit because it looked really cute but it completely surpassed my expectations. The bartender, Naomi, was extremely knowledgeable about gin. I believe she said Atlas carries around 580 different types of gin. My mom did not think she liked gin at all but Naomi helped her sample a few different ones until she found a couple that she really likes and wants to try at home now! Not only did Naomi offer a lot of information about gin, she also was very kind and friendly to us and told us about life in Manchester. We felt very taken care of by Naomi and Natalie who were both lovely and were lucky enough to have a seat on the back patio, which was very comfortable with the heaters despite the cold weather outside. We had a fantastic time and I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Manchester.

Edit to add: Atlas Bar's unprofessional and unaccountable response to my genuine review has cemented that I'll never go back. Very unfortunate. How are they supposed to see tone of voice and facial smirks from CCTV? They are family run, they know the person I'm complaining about so they instinctively take an opposition to me - and blame me for not raising issue with management. It shouldn't be on the customer to keep management appraised of problems. Had I wanted to raise an issue I could have done so directly with the individual I'm complaining about but I wasn't there to manage their bar. Instead of seeing this review as "damaging", to them, tunnel vision on their own ego, I wish they'd seen the negative experience being reported and made any attempt to put it right. Original review: Used to always love coming in here for a drink. Went in last night (Sunday 23/2/25) about 8pm and the blonde behind the bar was absolutely seething with rage. Either at me or at her own life and her own journey through this world who knows. Did my best British politeness with minimal interactions but she didn't warm up one ioata. Whiskey was good, food was great, just the atmosphere was brought down from the usual Atlas Bar experience and service would have been better from a robot. Overall just unfortunate.

Went for a midday brunch date with my boyfriend. We had the full English, eggs royale and oat iced lattes. Everything was spot on! They clearly use premium products such as the sausages and baked beans. The atmosphere was lovely, warm and inviting. We were served by Eliana and Ned who were both very helpful and engaging. We will definitely be back and looking forward to see what the place is like for drinks in the evening :)

The venue recently introduced the new Copper Bar, where the Global Club Music Network will be hosting a party showcasing South Asian and global sounds with an impressive lineup of international DJs.
Had THE BEST night here! It's a great venue for live music. Perfect if you want an intimate gig with friendly staff and a bar downstairs post gig. Saw the Magic Numbers last night. They were absolutely amazing ❤️ The audience were completely emersed. Everyone was singing and dancing to the iconic and beautiful tunes. A band with real talent, real musicians, voices like angels, and a genuine love for their fans. Rare in this day and age, we were all lucky to be there!! 💖

A decent-sized music venue in a very nice area of Manchester. Lots of surrounding bars and restaurants to go to before your gig. The venue was well-run, clean and the sound quality was good. Some of the upstairs area is quite awkward to find a good view from but the layout is quirky. Plenty of nearby parking options make it accessible to those travelling to the concert too.

An Unforgettable Jazz Experience! What a fantastic show! The performance by this talented Jazz ensemble was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first note, they had the entire audience captivated. Each musician brought their own unique energy and skill to the stage, blending seamlessly to create a soulful, vibrant, and deeply moving performance. The improvisation was masterful, the rhythm tight, and the solos—absolutely stunning. You could feel the passion and joy in every piece they played. It wasn’t just a concert—it was an experience. The chemistry between the performers was palpable, and their love for the music truly shone through. Thank you for such a memorable evening. This was Jazz at its finest, and I can’t wait to see them perform again!

Two rooms to watch artists from. Big rooms that can fit quite a number of people. Loved the place and the vibe. Didn’t quite like the difficulty in getting a drink. I stood at the bar for a good 20-30 minutes. I probably wouldn’t have gotten a drink if I didn’t have my friends with me and we blocked off a little area in the bar for the bartender to notice us. Nice bar to catch up with friends in, as it has a relaxed and laid back vibe. The music is good and not overly loud. You can get Nell's Pizza here, which is always a win, we also tried the ice cream sandwiches, a fun concept but a bit dificult to eat. You can order drinks at the bar or by a QR code but the QR menu doesn't list all the available drinks.

How can something be so soft and so crunchy at the same time? This pizza doesn’t ruin your vibe with excessive dough. It coerces you into another slice by being so seemingly innocent. You can’t help yourself. This is addictive, rewarding, devilish, naughty and so, so satisfying. I hate myself for eating a 14” pizza on my own, but I loved every second of it.

Situated in the former Kosmonaut unit on Tariff Street, this outpost of the popular Leeds brewery boasts an impressive array of beverages including 16 keg lines, four cask lines, three draft cocktails, and classic mixed cocktails.
Love northern monk , a great bar offering a wide range of craft beers , lagers and stouts and also has Cardinal Rule providing fantastic food! I opted for a pint of their IPA Faith, which is a superb beer and ordered a Hot Honey chicken sandwich served in a biscuit with Cajun spiced fries. It absolutely works on every level and is sumptuously delicious.

We’ve been here a few times and my partner loves the beer. The food we had last week was absolutely amazing by cardinal rules! Me & my partner and my daughter all really enjoyed the food. Beer is always good. Only downside is the toilets that are gender neutral which is fine but I don’t like going to the toilet and I try not to when I’m there. Fabulous wine bar in a wonderful part of Manchester. Small but well-chosen selection by the glass, and an utterly fantastic range by the bottle (from around the world). You can even use a tasting card with a wine dispenser! The space has seating both inside and out, and they also offer a selection of small bites to enjoy alongside your drinks. Highly recommend stopping by for a glass (or two)!

A great local spot with a cosy atmosphere and plenty of solid wine options. I had a fantastic experience the staff were excellent especially Milly who helped me sort out my booking. She was fabulous and treated me with great respect. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolute gem of a wine bar! The service was amazing — warm, welcoming, and attentive. We loved the self-serve wine bar; it was so easy to use and such a fun way to try different wines. The variety on offer was fantastic, with something for every taste. A brilliant experience from start to finish — we’ll definitely be back!

The wine was lovely until we realised it came with an unexpected garnish: a fly doing the backstroke. We took it to the girl at the front desk, expecting a fresh glass, but instead she suggested we fish the little swimmer out with a straw. I’m sorry, but this isn’t a game of hook-a-duck and I didn’t order the ‘fly-infused vintage’. Thankfully, our server was brilliant and replaced it straight away, but the front desk attitude was about as enthusiastic as the fly after its swim. I genuinely don’t understand how a fly in my drink is considered acceptable service. This was around 8:45–8:50pm on a Saturday night. Not the vibe you want with your wine.

What an amazing wine bar. We loved getting the wines ourselves and having the choice of sizes, even being able to have taster measures. Really good variety of wines available. Food options looked great but we didn't eat on this occasion. Really nice vibe and friendly staff too. Highly recommend

The Liars Club is a basement venue in Manchester known for its extensive collection of over 100 rums and specialty cocktails, some of which are served on fire. The tropical hideaway features bartenders in Hawaiian-style beach shirts and a lively atmosphere with reggae, afrobeat, and hip-hop music. Despite the declining trend of tiki bars, The Liars Club stands out with its explosive cocktail range and strong drinks.
They have the most amazing rum selection. I still cannot get over the fact they also stock Don Q rum. The staff are lovely and the music is great. One of my favourite bars in Manchester.

Great drinks, well informed and courteous staff! The drinks are truly delicious, well worth the money! This review would be a five star, if it wasn't for the overly loud blaring reggae music being played over the sound system. It's a tiki bar, it's there for chill and social. You can't social when you can't hear each other over the music :p Won't stop me coming back, but perhaps some thought can be put into knocking the volume down a bit. Or at least get someone to lower the high end/treble so it's less painful on the ears :)

Attended an engagement party here. Had a cocktail and it was spot on. Cool decor and layout. Parking difficult or expensive nearby.

Dancing shoes are a must for this place. The music is so on point. The Dj knows his stuff🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 It's a vibrant atmosphere and amazing service. It's not tricky to find even if maps make it seem that way. Having walked around in a full circle, and it was literally a stone throw away from where we started off.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Never mind. We meet some lovely people. The guy behind the bar... didn't take his name... (Goldilocks 🤣🤣) Amazing service. Try the Moscow Mule... Try them all. Cocktails here are to die for. I will definitely be returning.

Super little bar. Great cocktails which are a really good price (especially for Manchester). Bar staff very cool and music is a good mix of stuff.

Came across this bar after having dinner next door and it houses over 100 different rums which the staff (especially James) were very helpful and knowledgable about. If you’re into rum, a beautiful “beach” location and incredible staff make sure you come down and keep an eye out for their new menu and make sure you ask James to help you choose a drink if you’re unsure ;) Also highly recommend trying the best rum on the bar Monymusk 2010, definitely worth the price point if Rum is your drink of choice!

Great cocktails for a good price during happy hour. Cute decorations too! Nice atmosphere. Reccomend the coconut milk coffee cocktail pictured below.

Came here on a bar crawl as part of a friends graduation the other day. The bartenders were really friendly, and the whole bar had a cosy atmosphere as we enjoyed well crafted cocktails. Their piña colada is especially really good. The management was also pretty sound and was very reasonable with song requests #DojaCat
