This place is and seems to have always been about Belgian beer. Smack in the downtown Brugge, looking quite historic and honest, there’s plenty of locals intermingled with tourists here. The beer selection is truly the only thing you should care about, especially if you actually want to try a bit of everything from Belgium. A few simpler commercial options are flooded with a ton of smaller producers and, even if you don’t love Belgian style beer, you will enjoy yourself and the experience of tasting the many shades of beer here. Truly a must when in Brugge.

We finished our trip to Bruges there, and I can't imagine a better place to relax and enjoy a good beer. The menu offers a massive variety of options, with high quality at a very competitive price. We also really enjoyed the food

A pretty spectacular place oozing with charm and character. Eye catching patterned floors, old wooden tables which could tell a thousand stories, old style gloss paint and flamboyant wallpaper and brewery signs adorn the walls. Brugs Beertje boasts both great draft options and an extensive and impressive bottled beer list that will cater for those new to Belgian beers and also highly accustomed beer nerds. I highly enjoyed a bottle of De Cam which was both jammy and tart, and went wonderfully with a plate of cubed cheese, pickles and delicately chopped red pepper with a firey mustard. I finished on a draft 15% Belgian Italian imperial stout which was very worty and thick! It is perhaps among the more tourist-heavy beer spots I've seen in Belgium but equally it was delightful to hear a range of nationalities enjoying their visit. Service was fantastic and I felt well looked after. All well-run establishment well worth visiting. I very much look forward to returning.

Best bar in Bruges as far as I'm concerned. Fantastic choice of beers both in draught, and in bottles. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the bar has a fantastic cosy and homely vibe.

Small and very welcoming place. The staff is a bit pushy, because they need to change the tables as quickly as possible. Great selection of beers, although a bit expensive for the quantity offered. You can't choose, there is only 25cl. We also had a toasted ham and cheese but the bread was really poor, and also the products inside. For €9 I expected a good sourdough bread.

They ware closed on Sep 23 when I visited them the first time but my persistent pays off! It is a legendary place for many foreign Belgian beer lovers. It is the place you need to visit for once in your lifetime! Very simple bar only sale beer and soft drinks for kids. When you order your beer, they will accompany your beer with a small plate of cheese. That’s it! But the beer is really good!

The house beer, De Garre Tripel is what all beer should be. Also their Gulden Draak on tap is nice. They have lots of other beer on menu to try. Good vibes and free cheese too

This is a hidden gem located down a tiny alleyway close to the main square in Brugge. At the end of the alleyway there is a set of steep steps leading a somewhat anonymous doorway. Beyond that door is a wonderful, atmospheric "olde worlde" bar with a fantastic selection of beers served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Try the house tripel it is excellent. Do not miss this bar. You may have to be a little be patient and wait for a seat on busy days but it is worthwhile.

This place is hidden down narrow alley and only found via recommendation. A nice little cosy beer bar with their own local drinks. I had 2/3 beers including the house triple. Also had the pate which was a good snack Bar man was helpful and friendly. Would of gone back. With location it's full of tourist but as per try something different and you can enjoy it. Could imagine it's great on cold night. Got free cheese with beer which was nice touch.

Fantastic local pub with a hidden entrance. Ancient building, tongue in cheek service. Love it! Considered not reviewing so I don't contribute to even more tourists like me 🤭 there. But they do deserve the creds. It's one of those places, IDK. (Food might be better, we just had the cheese with beers)

This bar is a true hidden gem in Bruges. Tucked behind a narrow entrance, it opens up into a super cozy, old-vibes kind of place that feels like a secret spot only locals know about. The atmosphere is warm and charming, with seating both upstairs and on the ground floor, though the overall capacity is still on the smaller side which adds to its charm. Their drink selection is incredible whether you’re after a high-end champagne, a classic beer, or anything in between, they’ve got it. It’s not just a bar, it’s an experience. Definitely worth checking out

Never seen so many different beer sorts in any Pub or restaurant. This place is exceptional!

Like a British pub. The beer was good and most of the food was great. The service was uncoordinated though and not helpful. As a big group we were only allowed to order 5 different dishes because the kitchen would otherwise be overwhelmed. Then they forgot to order two of our meals in the kitchen. When asking to split the bill, we were asked to do the calculations ourselves.

Great place, probably one of the Best in the area. The flamenk stew really tasty, good variety of great tasty beers. Great place, cozy and warm. Dont miss it.

What a wonderful day and lunch at Café Bottletje. The waitress was very helpful and professional. The food was yummy, huge fan of beer cooking! The Brewer Menu is very nice. We took some sharing plate before the main course, everything was great. Maybe the beer menu is a bit complicated to handle and to understand and would need a refresh otherwise great choice of products

A special place for special people who like to drink beer out of all kind of glasses. People who haven't found their one drink yet, adventurous people with a taste for danger. The food is really nice as well, and you should eat, there has to be a base for all the beer you will drink. I pity the person that has to clean all the glasses.

Fine place, not so noisy or crowdy. Only 2 people serving: one at the bar, one at the tables. Sometimes you might have to wait for a while.

What an awesome place!! Walk down the steps and enter a warm, cozy bar with local drafts. Fireplace. Cold beer. Great snacks. Blues music. What more could you want? On a rainy, chilly day, this was exactly what we needed.

Our second visit to this subterranean bar in 4 years and it was just as good as the first. The owner provides excellent service and has a great insight into all the beers he serves, a true professional. We enjoyed our time there and will definitely return.

The location is nice, don’t get me wrong. Considering the prices you are paying for drinks, you still have to pay for the toilet. Even after consulting the staff about having to use the washroom badly and not having any cash, they couldn’t even spare the money or spend the money for the washroom. Very disappointed. There is also only self service. The staff is mostly friendly tho. In total bad management ( washroom/ self service) and very high prices for drinks. Can not recommend

A very nice beach bar in Ostend. Great cocktails for an affordable price. The sometimes have special shows and events. Friendly staff. Good music. Nice decoration too. Recommended if you want to have a great and relaxed time at the beach.

Save your bucks, poor cocktails

Queues for everything? It’s not that hard to have things on the table. I came alone, and I had my things with me. Every time I wanted something I had to go to the bar, make a line, order, then wait, then go to a line to wait for what I ordered again... all that time my table was alone with my things. You guys can also charge something for table service if the reason is money, I’m sure people would want to pay. Additionally, my table was completely full of water (think from drinks) when I came. No one came to clean. Food and music is good though. I also passed before, searching the beds to lie and tan... there were not beds.

Its all about having a drink on the beach... Long queues and on top of the high prices without service you also need to pay to use the restrooms (think this is a bit redicules) but still worth a visit.

A nice modern summer bar with delicious cocktails and snacks. It is a little on the expensive side and you have to be careful if you're sitting in the basket chairs as they sink in the sand when you go sitting on them, but other than that, a great summer bar experience.

We had a wonderful stay here for a stopover on our way from the UK to The Netherlands. The hotel location was fantastic - only a couple of minutes away from the city centre set in a beautiful cobbled street. The staff were extremely helpful with lots of local tips of sights to see and places to eat. Our room was spacious beautifully clean and tidy - the beds were so comfortable and we all slept really well! I think the breakfast was the best I have ever had in terms of the choice and quality. Although there are some negative reviews on here in terms of the decor, we loved the traditional feel of the hotel which added to its charm and authenticity. Brugge itself is absolutely stunning and we all can’t wait to visit again.

A lovely hotel with spacious rooms, the location is walkable to the station and right in front of T'zand square. The staff was warm and courteous, and the breakfast spread was notably inclusive to various dietary requirements like vegans and vegetariana. The rooms were comfortable but did have issues like plumbing and insufficient lighting. I heard renovation is underway, so it will all perhaps temporary issues. Overall a lovely place to use as a base and explore the wonder of Bruges

We loved this hotel. Amazing location. Really great service. And we also left our son’s beloved stuffed animal and they kept it safe. And a special thank you to housekeeping for being so wonderful and walking us through the process to get it shipped home. Highly suggest this hotel!

Beautiful hotel situated on the edge of the main area of Bruges, meaning its an incredibly short walk to get into the city centre whilst also being a quiet place to stay. The hotel décor and architecture was also very charming. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast service was brilliant. The hotel also has a nice terrace to have drinks that you can buy from reception. All at a reasonable price!

Been there for a business seminar, food is extremely good (all 3 meals throughout the day; from buffet breakfast to dinner) bar is as bit old, could use a renovation. Would 100% recommend for business or pleasure. Room is super comfortable, very clean and very well renovated with dark colors on the wall and quality furniture. Great snacks during coffee breaks between presentations. All necessary IT material in meeting rooms. 10min walk from Bruges station and 5min walk from city center. Great experience all and throughout!

We stayed at this hotel with young children and were extremely disappointed with the condition of the room. It was in deplorable shape, especially the bathroom, which had visible stains. This is not only unacceptable but also makes the room unfit for use — far below the standards expected from NH Hotels or any hotel. — particularly the bathroom — raises serious health concerns, as clearly shown in the photos. We urge management to address this issue immediately and take the necessary corrective actions. The exception was the Trump friendly staff.

Very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. They arranged a booking for us on a Sunday evening for a special occasion when many restaurants are closed. The carpets and seats in the room could do with a clean but otherwise very nice comfortable, large room. Very good position, next to a large market square with a great choice of bars and restaurants a minute away but then only 10-15 minutes walk into the centre of Brugges. As an added bonus it is only a 20 minutes walk to and from the railway station. We would stay here again if coming to Brugges.

This place surprised me a bit, it is a really cool bar and it feels super fancy when you go inside. The bartender was cool and got us. Good drinks but what I couldn’t figure out is that the place was empty. Maybe we got there too early, but we are at another bar in a cellar like this that was packed with people partying and having a great time. Maybe it’s just the vibe of this place and if you’re looking for something quiet and romantic and cool this would be it if you’re looking for a party there’s one nearby that’s similar.

“’t Poatersgat is definitely one of the must-visit bars in Belgium. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and the historic setting is truly impressive. The drink selection is wide and offers something for every taste. Most importantly, the staff are very friendly and attentive. Especially my friend Ramazan, whose hospitality and warm attitude make this place even more special for me. If you want to feel at home, make sure to stop by ’t Poatersgat!

Cool little medieval like cellar. Im 6'4 so had to squat down to get in the front door. Lots of beers on the menu. Servicd was fine. Atmosphere was cool. Was playing Bob Marley with 3 different Mr Bean episodes on 3 different TV at the same time so a bit funny.

Been a few years ago and not as good as I remember. Was popular on a Friday evening but very hot (mid September). Busy at the bar and didn't have some of the drinks we initially wanted but still good selection. Seem to recall had big benches and long tables, now replaced with smaller tables. Seemed a bit more cramped.

Barman misheard order and gave me the wrong drink. He said they so not make mistakes. Bad moment as another couple had alao had wrong order delivered. Mistakes happen but it is how they are delt with. Unfortunately poor customer service as i was ignored at the bar for 15mins until eventually my drink was replaced. Not a good experience

Wine glass had a crack on side. Bartender said it was not a crack and from dishwasher. Having owned a bar and been a bar tender. #1 Customer is always right #2 Obvious fracture on the glass. See picture. Felt it on my finger nail. #3 Costs nothing to replace and reputation is important. The atmosphere is great. Bar staff need better customer service training.

Beautiful location and property. I love the antique style and windy hallways. Especially amazing are views of the canal and rooftops. The staff is amazing and there is someone available 24/7 which is amazing if you want something off hours. Would recommend and would stay again.

Lovely, warm and inviting small hotel in. Perfect location to see Bruges. The staff were all very kind and helpful and went out of the way to assist us. Even the night staff prepared an early breakfast for our departure day. I would stay here again. We enjoyed the deluxe heritage room with a little more space and comfort. We had an impromptu trip to Bruges and chose this hotel by chance, they had only one room available left and we gladly booked. The hotel is cozy, charming and really chic, but the hospitality of the staff is extraordinary. They welcomed us with detailed explanation about the parking, a welcome letter to the hotel, a free welcome drink passes and a box of chocolates. The next morning we checked out and we received a bag of butter biscuits just because. 😊 It is a very good hotel and the only reason I give 4 stars to the rooms is because the bathroom of the room was in the hallway between the living room and the bedroom, and if somebody is in the shower, you cannot just go to the bedroom without violating their privacy. We had only one set of towels, of course, we got a second one when we asked. Another small recommendation is to have a small holder for the hand soap at the sink after unpacking and using the hand soap. Other than this, the hotel is really awesome.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stepped foot in. From the attention to detail on decorating to the attention to detail on a coffee. The staff was superb. The Terrace was amazing. The rooms were the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. Five out of 5 stars TEN times over.

I booked my stay at Hotel De Orangerie through Booking.com (Reservation #5397476986). On August 19, 2025, the full amount was already charged to my account. However, upon arrival on August 22, 2025, the hotel charged me again for the same stay. This is a clear case of double payment. I have already contacted the hotel and Booking.com requesting an immediate refund of the second charge. I sincerely hope this issue is resolved quickly, as it affects the trust that guests place in both the hotel and Booking.com.

One of the most charming hotels I have stayed at. Great location, room was spacious and modern, staff was very attentive and helpful.

What a beautiful, unique experience. We arrived nearer to noon than 3 but our room was ready. We were gifted chocolate, two welcome drinks from the bar, and a detailed walking map with a route outlined. Our receptionist had a beautiful smile and we felt perfectly welcome. Our room was a “Comfort room” with a view of the belfry tower. A few times we opened our window to enjoy the cool air, but majority of the time used our very effective AC. The room has a mini fridge/bar, a writing desk and enough access to charge our devices. The bathroom is marble with a hand held sprayer and a rain shower head. Instant hot water made the shower efficient and pleasant. The bedding was extra comfortable. I wish I could bring these sheets home with me! There were two super soft “throws” in the closet, which we used throughout the stay. We stayed three nights. During our stay we asked for extra water - they provide a bottle of still and sparkling every day, but I drink a lot of water- and extra coffee. One day I was sick and stayed in all day - they graciously left a basket of towels and supplies outside our door. The common areas are beautiful, warm colors, rich fabrics, beautiful wood paneling and elaborate fireplaces. We now wish we had switched our schedule and spent more time here. Not because of Bruges, but because of the quality of this experience. It’s not modern. It’s not busy or noisy, it’s perfectly complimentary to a stay in a medieval town. Just a half block off the “main” tourist path, it provides access to the sights (the boat tour starts just 1/2 a block away and directly behind the hotel on the canal). But still provides refuge from the crowds. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Relaxed, with a very good vibe each and every single time I visit. The wide variety of beers lets you explore something new each time :)

Good selection of local craft beers. Menu has even marked how far the breweries have located from the bar. Prices were very good. Some other local bars seemed to have similar price policy but nonetheless it was a lot cheaper than I'm used to compared where I come from. I ordered flight set of 6 from the Tap. Bartender was extremely generous with filling the glasses - every flight was at least 200 ml if not more. Only criticism from me is that I'm a beer snob and I'd have liked better selection of beers in terms of quality. They did have a lot of beers but nothing stellar. Would have liked of some better selection from de Ranke and Alvinne. Both are very prominent local breweries, instead they had s lot of Brussels beer project, that is mediocre at best.

Total bucket list check off if you're a beer drinker. The best bottled beer in the world can be legitimately purchased here and nowhere else on the planet. The restaurant close by is quite nice with great views, beautiful 3km hike plus a little gift shop.

It's a lovely place to drink a famous and good beer. Is it really the best? Often you say "where can I get the best burger, the best pizza, the best seafood, the best whatsoever". It is a good beer, but in my opinion you can get other really good Trappist beer, like Chimay or Rochefort, which are also excellent! So you have to decide if it is YOUR best beer. I personally love the red Chimay and the green Rochefort. The Westvleteren 12 was good, but for me personally too strong. But as long as it is a Trappist beer you are in heaven. Also the cheese and bread is great. And you can get great ice cream with beer too. Highly recommended for Trappist beer fans!!

Great beer! Stopped here during a bike trip and the stop was worth it. The beer is amazing, the food was great and the service we received was the best. They have vegetarian options! They also have a gift shop where you can buy additional bottled beer, cheese and other goods.

This is a great gastropub serving Westvleteren Trappist beer brewed by the brothers from St. Sixtus/- monastery (and all part of the same site). It's open every day except Fridays and offers good food at reasonable prices from about midday to midafternoon (serving times alter on whether it's winter or summer). It has a little shop (which could be bigger) selling the brothers' produce, their beer but also cheeses, sweet things etc. You can order a crate of beer online from the monastery and collect by car, allow 5 days between ordering and collecting. There's a tiny chapel which is worth a visit and time for contemplation.

Once you are able to get through to the reservation phone line this becomes a nice place to visit. You do need some luck and perseverance to get your reservation (i.e. calling > 200 times in 10 minutes). Usually shop at “in de vrede” on the other side of the road sells six packs without reservation (max 2 per person). The beer is excellent and worth the money, especially the 12 is nice.

Great beers, very nice to sit outside Plenty of food and beverages to choose from. And of course the trappist beer.

Very good bar, very cosy, friendly people, you have a smoking area in the back. When you go you should try a "Zeegeuze" for sure. It's a beer with a secret ingrediënt.

Went there yesterday with friends and really enjoyed it! The staff were super friendly, bathrooms were clean and even smelled nice, and the spot itself was quiet and relaxing. Chairs and umbrellas were decent too. It is a bit pricey at €48, and the food menu could definitely use more options (mostly just light snacks), but overall we had a great time. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

My Girlfriend went yesterday with 3 kids to order some drinks. They asked for a fresh apple juice that was sour and an apple and carrot juice that tasted heavily on ginger (not suited for kids). The owner came and told her that her taste was completely off and that she should never come here again. We rented a cabin there for the summer and have been loyal customer there with our entire Family. This is just an unacceptable behaviour and a poor leadership example. I do not recommend this place and we will gladly give our business somewhere else.

Wine wasn’t very tasty, other beach clubs offer more. Also rather unfriendly vibes.

Had a great meal at this lively, traditional brasserie. The absolute star of the show was the fish stew – it was incredibly rich, creamy, and packed with flavour. A must-try dish! The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which added to the great experience. While the beef stew was decent, the real highlight was definitely the fish. The sides we had, like the frites and mashed potatoes, were fine but nothing special. I would highly recommend coming here for the amazing fish stew and the bustling, classic beer hall atmosphere.

The food was very tasty and in a good portion. But it's sad I came for the mussel but it sold out 15 minutes before I ordered. Here they are famous about hare dish, but I was too scared to have it so I tried the beef instead with the same sauce. The wave was very tender, and the sauce was very fresh. The staff were very nice and helpful. They always smile and attentive.

Lovely restaurant to experience authentic Flemish cuisine! We tried the onion soup, stew, chicken, and salmon — everything was absolutely delicious. We were able to get in relatively quickly and the service was prompt given how busy and crowded it was. The truffle mayo fries were incredible. We almost ordered more because my daughter practically inhaled them. The hot dog and beer were also quite as well. Great spot!

The absolute best bar and hangout spot in all of Bruges with the best people working behind the bar. The owner, Leo, is one of the friendliest and kindest people ever and he makes sure to make you feel warm and invited. On vacation in Bruges and stumbled upon Central Pool Bar from a Reddit Review. This has been the best bar/restaurant I have been to thus far on my trip. If you know anything about traveling in Europe, their service is nothing like the US. Typically you have to flag down your server for service, but here, they treat you like friends and family and provide you with nothing but service! Leon was not only a great bartender, but also a great comedian. If you come to Bruges and don’t stop here, you’re missing out!

Stopped here for a quick snack, ended up stying for the great people. We had great Trappist beer, fries with rosemary salt (we forgot to ask the ratio of salt to rosemary from the owner so we can make it at home in Canada), and wonderful conversation with the owners and guests. I was spending 3 days in Bruges, and my group stopped by on the first night. The drinks are incredible and there was so much love and attention to detail put into every drink. The staff were all extremely friendly and made it a great place to stop. We ended up going by every night we were there and tried something new each time. Every drink made was unique and tasty. If you are in the area I cannot recommend them enough!

We had drinks from their celestial menu and they were all amazing. Galactic Milkpunch was our favorite, with the Silver Bullet coming in a close second! The man working was so friendly and the service was amazing. They greet you with water, some salty snacks and a welcome cocktail bite (ours was a frozen Cointreau and grapefruit concoction). Literally such an amazing place, I would be here every day if I could! Each cocktail is €15-20 per person and very worth it!
