Nice pub grub selection which caters for majority of people. Went on Sunday so had the carvery. Presented well and came in a timely manner. Roast vegetables a little dry (must have been held through lunch). Improvements would be clearer messaging/hosting on entry as not clear whether wait to be seated or find your own seat; and a check back to see if food is okay. Pay special attention to special requests e.g., no salad and also requested chunky chips as opposed to fries. Pay at the bar. Had an old pub feel to it and dogs welcome.

Great pub in the heart of Kendal. Food is delicious, the staff very friendly and helpful and the ambience wonderful we can highly recommend the Pulled Brisket burger and the Godfather burger. The portions are deceptively generous and filling. It was good to find the meats are locally sourced too. It's a long time since we've had such juicy tasteful burgers. A big 5* review from us. Must come back and try the steak!

Decided to pop in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Salmon was lovely and a good portion. The chicken leek and ham pie was to die for. Plenty of filling and another good portion. Not cheap but because of portion size and the fantastic food quality it was worth it. The Irish waitress that served us (sorry, didn't catch her name) was lovely & helpful & very busy, bless her.

Staying in Kendal 2 nights, went in the Fleece for drinks on first night, a little expensive but nice atmosphere. Returned the following day for a meal and was not disappointed!! The chicken, leek and ham pie was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pastry was handmade, creamy deliciousness! Every mouthful was a delight including the seasoned vegetables and mashed potato. We also ordered a chicken Caesar baguette, which was not actually on the menu but the staff catered for it happily which was most appreciated. Great little pub in the middle of Kendal! Recommended and we will be going back!

We stopped in for the Sunday roast and a pint. A lovely building and super friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Dog friendly as well. We arrived at about noon, and it filled up quickly, I would recommend booking to be sure you get a table. The roast was delicious, and the plates were full to bursting. A decent selection of local brees on offer as well. Highly recommended.

Me, my partner and two dogs went for a Sunday Lunch. Staff was very welcoming, the atmosphere is very warm and authentic. Food was amazing, Sunday roast was outstanding! Highly recommended!

Popped in for a pint and food. If a pub is busy on a damp Tuesday night in late September it has to be more than decent. And it is. Good food, good beer. Bit of a Tardis as it's much bigger inside than it appears from the front

Great location for centre of Kendal. The room was pleasant although the mattress did feel a little old. Welcomed (?) abruptly shown to our rooms, told breakfast was between 8-9am. Dinner was okay, although the person in the kitchen couldn't do a small side salad instead of garlic bread with the main I'd ordered. Waiting staff gave very good service. Breakfast.... arrived at 8.30am. Other customers already seated. Eventually, we were told the manager had over slept and another member of staff were on their way to do breakfast for us. Rachel arrived, produced a great breakfast and we were left wondering why she's not running the business!

During an afternoon in Kendal we stopped off in the Shakespeare for a quick lunch. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the chicken club sandwiches we ordered , which represented good value for money with their portions of fries and coleslaw. Definitely one of the best aspects of our weekend break.

Enjoyed our stay here. The courtyard room was clean and perfectly suitable for a short stay. It was the first night of a new menu, and after a discussion with the chef, we chose the tortillas. We were very pleased we had! Delicious, and the ale was good too.

Bad food and a manager with a worse attitude. No main dish came out as described on the menu, and the manager claimed everything is freshly prepared in the kitchen. I've never seen a smash burger with a perfectly formed patty with uniform edges, let alone 2 on the "smash" burger that looked identical in size and shape. I mean that's fine if that's what you're going for, just don't call it a smash burger, however it tasted cheap like a mass produced old school dinner burger. Look I don't know if it was a bad day for the kitchen, which is fine everyone has an off day, but the way the manager spoke to one of the group when they initially raised the concerns was totally unacceptable. There are better places to eat in Kendal, go to one of them.

The staff were lovely. The breakfast was terrible, a continental breakfast in a bag. not sure about that. It doesn’t actually say it’s a continental breakfast on the website. I wouldn’t have booked if I knew it was continental in your room. Eating Weetabix on the end of your bed is more like a hostel!!! No where to sit properly. The room also felt a bit damp. The pub was nice.

Stayed for 1 night with my partner. The room was clean and ok but the bed mattress was awful. Cheap soft and springy. Neither of us barely slept and my partner was in pain with her hip. No way would we consider returning unless they put in a proper mattress...

We called in for some food and was greeted by the loveliest girl, so happy and helpful she was and to say the food was amazing is an understatement, its was absolutely stunning!!! Hats off to the chef because we loved every single crumb, wasn't expensive either, thank you so much.....

Been to Keswick many times never thought to come to this pub till Wednesday night. Very warm welcome from waitress, she was so lovely finding us a seat and recommending the Goulash. Demonstrating size of dishes. Really lovely lady. Goulash was fabulous. Pub so friendly and cosy. Great place will never avoid again!!!!

Lovely place with a healthy range of vegetarian options. Very atmospheric and delicious food. The veggie goulash was very good.

Nice pub, family and dog friendly. Big portions, a big goulash which I couldn’t finish and a cider cost me 20£. Goulash was tasty, rich flavor, but very filling.

Wow what a find, there are obviously several pubs in the town, but this caught our eye. Great welcome as soon as we walked in with the dogs. Service at the bar was quick and friendly. Food was tasty and came in good time and Ru was great we had a good chat and she loved the dogs..

Not much to fault here! The prices were extremely reasonable and wait times for food were pretty short. The food itself was also delicious! (Not many peas in my mushy peas) but for the price of this it was brilliant! The only thing you must beware of is just how busy it gets! Particularly around 5.30-6 you can be waiting a long time to get a table and end up quite cramped in even when you find one.

Lovely pub in the centre of Keswick, with traditional style beams and warm welcoming atmosphere. Within minutes of our arrival at 12 noon, the pub filled up, always a good sign. Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Both the bar and food service were efficient. Food was very good, nicely presented and tasted lovely. Good selection of dishes are available from the menu. This pub has a greet selection of local real ales and beers. Dogs are very welcome in this pub, water bowls and treats are available for them. The interior was very cosy and looked nice having just been decorated for the festive season. Everything was immaculate and tidy.

Came here this evening for their signature goulash and wasn’t disappointed . Got the standard size portion and very tasty snd filling. Washed down with a couple of beers. Large selection of craft and tap beers. Dog friendly and excellent service. Well worth a visit whilst in keswick. Total cost for meal and beers was reasonable.

Lovely cocktail bar located in Bowness, by lake Windermere. Lovely service and atmosphere. Good selection of cocktails, but pricey. Extra £5 for their signature version of classic cocktails, with not much difference to the classic version on the menu - ie: smoke in an old fashioned.

Lacking a savoury aspect, sandwiches small and skinny and bread dry. This was £68 for two, voucher bought last November 2024 when the afternoon tea looked indulgent now September 2025 and the owners obviously cutting back and using cheaper ingredients. Would not go back, would advise this is worth no more than £17 pp.

Came here on Sunday night bought 3 lovely cocktails and decided we would come back in the next couple of days for the offer of 2 cocktails for £17.95. Big board outside the premises advertising the offer. Yet when we went in no offer!! Don't advertise an offer just to get people in, if it isn't on 😡😡😡

This was a great find. Love the Decor and atmosphere. The staff are really friendly, helpful and attentive. We stopped for a lunch and shared a board with some extra bread. It was the perfect amount and tasted fantastic with great presentation. The coffee was really good and the non alcoholic cocktail was spot on. Cannot fail this place.

Myself and husband have stayed since Tuesday going home this morning. The check in was smooth we were greeted by Luke who is very polite and showed us to our room. The room was spotlessly clean thanks to Carrissa the cleaner with a great bathroom including huge walk in shower but the best bit is the view of the lake I could never get board of that. We stayed in room 8. The bar 🍻 was great as well lovely and cosy again with fantastic service from Luke who by the way does the most amazing cocktails. We were literally just a few steps from the restaurants and eateries but the Angel Inn just down the road 5 mins walk does delicious food and also Mio Mondo 2 mins walk away for the best breakfasts and toasties. The lake is also just at the bottom of the road we recommend you do the boat 🚢 trip. We would most definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Thankyou Westmorland Inn you were all fantastic 😊

Ate here several times before lock down and the food was always good. Last night I had the most amazing and best fish pie ever! So tasty and stuffed full of gorgeous fish, topped off with golden cheesey mash. Peas and samphire also cooked to perfection. Husband had the Korean chicken thigh burger which he said was excellent, high praise from him

We visited the Wildflower restaurant downstairs for a sunday roast and it was hands down, the best roast dinner we have ever had. Everything was delicious and huge portions making it great value. Speedy service, great layout and atmosphere and lovely staff. Cannot recommend the sunday roast here enough!

Don't judge a book by it's covers... Booked Sunday Lunch, feared the worst when we walked through the pub door.. How wrong I could be... Staff very friendly, restaurant downstairs, had the roast beef Sunday lunch, what can I say ... This chef can cook a proper roast, med rare rump of beef, all the trimmings, good gravy, and to finish proper pudding!! Absolutely spot on, eaten at far pricer establishments and had nowhere near the quality of food... A hidden gem....

Popped in this afternoon for a well earned pint 🍺🍺 after driving 🚗 down from Edinburgh. Booked a table for a evening meal. We had the honey 🍯 grilled gammon with two fried eggs 🍳 and 🍟 along with the cider battered cod 🐟 and 🍟, the food arrived well presented hot 🔥 and delicious 😋. Staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. Highly recommend 👌 👍 👏.

Nice big room. Decent shower room. Nice tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. The only thing was we were at the front of the building. Must be a loose manhole cover on the road and it was loud when cars drove over. Not the hotels fault. Nice, helpful check in. Fantastic location.

Avoid this bar! Was in last night (Wed 1st Oct) with my wife sitting at a high table having some drinks. Went to the toilet and when I came back an old female sitting at the bar had taken my seat away and was sitting on it ! Obviously the bar stool she had been already sitting on wasn't big enough for her! There were plenty of free seats but she wanted mine. My wife was still sitting at the table and challenged her . She ignored her and started bitching away with her herd. I told my wife to drink up and l went outside to order a taxi . I was followed by a male in the women's company to see what I was doing. He stayed outside listening in until I went back inside . We grabbed our jackets and waited outside for the taxi. Everywhere else locals have been great such a shame area let down by a few entitled privilidged idiots. Only 1 star as I have to give it some sort of rating.

It was a busy evening when we visited for dinner, and the bar area was packed. Initially, we had to wait a bit for a staff member to take our order, but once she did, our food and drinks arrived quickly. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. Overall, a great experience despite the crowd!

This is our 3rd maybe 4th visit. Food is incredible, cocktails always made to perfection we’ve had many lovely servers however Sarah is our favourite so Lovely, so helpful, Friendly, approachable and down to earth . Managed to speak to the chef, food 10-10 as a human being 10/10 will take the time for you, speak to you, down to earth. 100% recommend

Really lovely little pub slightly off the main overcrowded streets. Lovely friendly staff, the food was amazing! We had the chicken burger and my god it didn't disappoint. Alot of food for the price. We would definitely go back!

Lovely vibe to this place, we sat outside and were greeted warmly. Managed to order two cocktails just before the end of happy hour. Food was very reasonably priced and generous portions. We had chilli beef nachos and chicken quesadillas. Both very nice. Do try this place, it is tucked out of the way a little but worth the effort to find it!

Went here at around 6pm and came in due to their early bird 2 course offer which was around £16. Food came out quickly and was nice. The roast chicken was a bit dry but everything else was good. Enjoyed the vegetable tempuras and the chicken burger especially.

Really enjoyable first time visit for cocktails after finding some good reviews on here. It didn't disappoint at all! Staff were friendly and highly-skilled at making the delicious cocktails. So much so, we decided to stay a bit longer with another round and some Texan Dirty Fries. Roaring fire on a cold evening was great, would definitely consider ordering larger meal (and another cocktail!) next time.

Great little pub: was really busy early evening despite seemingly being in the middle of nowhere. Notwithstanding a small hiccup which was swiftly sorted, the food was incredible and the staff were very attentive. Really cosy old pub with a friendly atmosphere, really reasonably priced too

The overall atmosphere of the pub was great, feels like stepping back in time. A friendly welcome from the staff, intimate dining room, cozy open fire and the food was incredible. Genuinely the best lamb I've ever had, has been a highlight of my holiday in the Lake District.

Incredible food, vegetarian and vegan options. Dog-friendly, good beers (limited number of beers but what was there was very good). Clearly a historic pub and retains all those old features. Car park and small beer garden available.

Absolutely loved this little cocktail bar – such a cute and intimate spot! The vibe is perfect for younger couples or small groups looking for a relaxed evening. The music was great, lively and upbeat – loud enough to create a fun atmosphere but still perfect in the background so you can chat comfortably. The cocktail menu has something for everyone, whether you’re into sweet, fruity drinks or something a bit stronger. Everything we tried was delicious! The owners are so lovely and made us feel really welcome. Nancy was super sweet and engaging, we mentioned the night we arrived how much we love the game Dobble, and by the next day she’d ordered it from Amazon so we could play – such a sweetheart! They’ve also got other games and cards around which makes it feel super friendly and fun. We were in disbelief to see other young couples actually talking to one another and not glued to their phones! Nancy knew we were celebrating my 21st and surprised us with a shot and a bottle of prosecco to pop in the hot tub at midnight – such a thoughtful touch that made the night extra special. Would 100% recommend this place – a total hidden gem!

We call in for a drink on our way down to catch the ferry to Ambleside ,it’s a Quint bar, just off the main drag we sat outside in the autumnal sunshine and had a jug of sangria for two ,inside, was spotlessly clean, including the toilet.

Fantastic cocktails and a really unique selection (aside from the usual pornstar and espresso etc), brilliant vibes, great tunes great owner. Highly recommended.

Went here for drinks. First round was a nice pint of Guinness and a chocolate orange cocktail for the other half. Both lovely. Second round was a popcorn cocktail and another chocolate orange. Both were amazing, probably the best cocktails we've ever had. Not your normal run of the mill and a bit quirky, but absolutely stunning. The lady behind the bar was really friendly, I can't recommend this little bar enough.

Best cocktails in the area espresso martini £9.50 or fizzy tart £16.50 this place is better 👍 old fashioned excellent.

Sit back, Relax with great views and atmosphere to match! We have been visiting Bowness for years and have somehow missed out on the Boater Bar until now. What a mistake! This bar and restaurant is a true gem with its stunning views of the lake and various seating options, including a large outdoor sun terrace. The Bar offers a great selection of wines, spirits, and craft beers at very reasonable prices. nd for sports enthusiasts, the bar does not disappoint; numerous large screen TVs are strategically placed so you can catch the action from almost any seat. We was lucky enough to visit on a Tuesday and made the best of the Pizza offer they had on, we would have loved to try a coffee and cake after but our stomachs were so full! But defiantly on our visit. We visited on a Tuesday, which happened to be their pizza offer day, and I must say, the pizza did not disappoint! It was delicious and definitely hit the spot. While we were tempted to indulge in coffee and cake afterward, we were too full to manage another bite – but it’s definitely on our list for our next visit! If your visiting the area area the Bar is easily accessible with multiple parking options nearby. The staff are super friendly, enthusiastic, and contribute to the bar's great atmosphere. Went for Craftanoon tea that we had been bought as an Xmas pressie. Choice of pizza was brilliant ( you could also upgrade) and great choice of beers to try. Staff were lovely and friendly and food was amazing. Will be back and highly recommend if you are in the area.

One of the best lineups of craft beer available in the Bowness / Windermere area, all at reasonable prices served by friendly staff. TNT sports on the large monitors, loads of charging points and what must be one of the most stunning views of Lake Windermere from the terrace.

We had a prebooked "Crafternoon Tea" which comprised of a flight of six beers and two pizzas of our choice. We were given a welcome by a very friendly and enthusiastic member of staff, Rebecca, who showed us to a reserved lake view table. She clearly explained all our options, the background to the bar and the beer we would be tasting. The beer was good and the pizzas were great. Our experience was so good that returned for breakfast the following day. We served the best bacon and sausage breakfast roll we've ever had!! Highly recommend Boaters Bar!

Went on Saturday night & the atmosphere was great, very busy and everyone was upbeat, staff were very nice & helpful! Singing performance from Megan was absolutely amazing too🤩 Had a couple of little bites to eat which were lovely & came out very quickly even though it was so busy!

Extremely dog friendly. Every member of staff came to greet our springers. A bowl of water was provided as soon as we sat down and they had their photo taken for the wall. We were so impressed that we went back next day for a meal. Staff remembered the dogs names and made a fuss. Nice little doggie menu. Quick service and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely meal at affordable prices for all of us

Absolutely amazing place for food, every meal has been made to perfection, the staff Connor, Aalyah, Chantel and Kyle are lovely (as are the rest of the staff who work here) they always make you feel welcome and taken care of. The prices are very reasonable, it can get busy but that's just a sign of a great place. They do quiz nights and different things, I would definitely recommend you check it out.

Arrived with friends and ordered through the app and the drinks came really quick very friendly staff Connor Megan and chantel was soo friendly. The food was delicious so big shout out to the chefs on. It was a great atmosphere.

We visited here following a recommendation but unfortunately left disappointed. The place is rather tired looking. Possibly going for the 'rustic' look but it's just shabby and if I am honest a bit grubby. The bar man wasn't very friendly so didn't feel particularly welcome. Ordered 2 margarita pizzas. Very thin pizza base which to be fair was nice but there was very little if any tomato sauce so quite dry. Sadly wouldn't be returning on our next visit to Keswick.

Great cafe/pub! Good range of local beers and three excellent Belgian beers. Try the tray of the Belgians. Lovely food. Prompt, friendly service. Great atmosphere. A lovely place to visit in the daytime or in the evening.

We went there for food but it is a bar as well . What attracted us was some nice sounding salads with hummus. They turned out to be delicious. This was great as the majority of eating places in the town seemed to serve very traditional fare and not that many with salads(we looked at quote a lot of places as wandered around). Prices were very reasonable.

Called in the antique shop next door for a mooch and ended up in 'The Pocket', as if by magic!! Very nice too it was. Good beer, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff too. The bar staff even brought my drink to my table when she'd made sure the frothy head had calmed down a bit and the glass of ale was to the correct fill level. A nice touch : )

We had Sunday dinners here and was lovely. we stayed for an hour after as the staff were friendly and really enjoyed ourselves. We decided to take our friends in for dinner on Friday and were told that the kitchen had closed early. Very disappointed as we could see other had meals.

Very impressed with this quirky little pub. Immaculately clean and a nice range of drinks. We didn't eat there, but plenty of people were eating and the food looked lovely.

Visited here on Friday night and all i can say is they went above and beyond for me and a friend. I am a wheelchair user and although they don't have wheelchair access Laura and all the staff made sure my wheelchair was safe and I was able to get in. A great night was had with friendly people and we will definitely be back to visit 5 stars is not enough to describe this pub or the staff

Found this one by Google search. The outside is of a typical pub facade that was the fashion many years ago. Dont be put off by it appearance from the outside because it serves some brilliant meals in what is a tardis once inside. Has a one way system around the inside that works really well for these covid times we live in. Will say the chips were the best that I have tasted for as long as I came remember. Crisp on the outside and lovely soft fluffy inside. Of the meals we had nothing when to waste and there was plenty of it.

A really homely vibe to this quirky pub (which is also dog friendly 👍). We were made to feel very welcome by Ethan and team. A great choice of food - totally recommend the macaroni, cheese with chorizo. Nice beer garden too. The milk churn stool is fabulous!❤️.

A Greene King Locale pub so the choice of cask ale on sale is better than usual. The well appointed beer garden is a great sun trap a a perfect place to relax away from the crowds in Bowness.

We ordered 3 lunch sets including Chicken & Bacon Roll but that was overcooked, so hard and dry to eat. Rosemary fries really have no rosemary at all. The staff was rude when I ordered an Iced Latte and was rejected. When I tried to reconfirm saying that it was on the menu. That lady (probably named Madalina) told me they did not do iced latte. It doesn’t matter at all to me but the sound was 😒 My son added some items after I placed my order. She just reminded me that “I already asked if you finished.” Yes, I have no idea that my son wanted to add some items and it felt like I made a BIG mistake and should plead guilty about that.

Love watching the footy here, always book a table to make sure I get a good view of the TV Bar staff are great and using the Greene King Sports App gets you discounted beer on matchdays. The barmaid Sherry loves dogs so much she tends to carry pockets full of biscuits to make them feel welcome. Great pub, great staff.

A large pub with lots of seating, both inside and out. Fairly pricey food for the small portions which seemed suitable for children not grown adults. Little bit stingey on the gravy although our server was happy to change my chips for mash which was much appreciated. Unfortunately not great vegetarian options on the menu. The staff were great, very attentive, smiley and kind.

Went today 5th October 2025 , had Sunday roast dinner Turkey and beef duo . Was excellent for the price , cooked fresh . Plenty of vegetables, cauliflower cheese , stuffing , toasties and Yorkshire pudding. Good atmosphere and friendly staff .

Great value food, quick super friendly service. Josh was working the bar & he was very efficient & friendly as were all the staff. Dog friendly inside & outside. 100% recommended, we ended up visiting 3 times in our week away simply because we felt really welcomed. Over the 3 visits we had burgers (chargrilled to perfection), mixed grill (big portions) steak & ale pie (amazing & stayed very hot) shawarma wraps (large and delicious) we even got the doggy sausages for the pooch who devoured them. Will definitely eat here again when we next visit.

The food was good with a great atmosphere. Classic English pub food with some Italian options as well. We tried the fish and chips, lamb shank, chicken burger and lasagna. All the dishes were decent. The seating area is quite big with outside seating as well.

Called for the carvery at this busy establishment this Sunday after booking ahead. You do have to queue (minimum wait) for carvery but the staff plate it for you, it's then handed to you so that you can add gravy and condiments. It's decent quality and a portion size to fulfil most healthy appetites. I could have managed a little more meat, and the gravy & stuffing needs work. Overall good value and the wonderful staff made this a five star experience.

Totally recommend this place, especially if you have kids. The outdoor area is fab and our three kids couldn’t get enough. Brilliant service, ample parking and delicious food complimented the experience and we’d be happy to come back when we’re next in the area

The food was terrible. The fish & chips - came on a dirty plate, (see pic). The fish was dripping in grease. The batter was thick, stodgy and very unpleasant. The chips were stale - I very much doubt they were cooked to order. I have my doubts that the fish was freshly cooked either. By the colour of the batter and the thick stodginess of the batter, they have just been reheated. I would absolutely never eat here again. One of the worst pubs I’ve ever eaten at.

Lovely place, really well kept inside and out with nice grounds and children's play area. We had dogs, so ate in the bar area but it was very roomy and there are lots of tables available for you and your four legged friends. The staff were really friendly and chatty while we were there. The service was always quick and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, we were there on a Sunday for the carvery and it was nice to see that it was fully served by members of staff, rather than self serve. Desserts were excellent, I had the Tiramisu which was on point! We enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back again in the future.

A cosy and historic pub with loads of character! It was built in 1612. The oldest pub in the Lake District. The Hole in t’Wall is full of charm, with its low beams, open fire, and friendly atmosphere. The food is hearty and delicious, and the drinks selection is excellent. Staff are welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home. A perfect place to relax after exploring Windermere – it truly feels like a hidden gem.

Staff were gorgeous with my toddler, we had the best fish pie I’ve ever had and Lamb Henry too. Would go here every day of holiday if we could, we’re considering it!

Visiting the Lakes this weekend , got in quite late so went here for a quick pint or two. Really nice place, decent beer (mostly Robinson's, I guess they own it?). Quiet on a Thursday, so ideal for a reading a book before bed.

A very enjoyable experience had, the staff are very friendly and helpful. A good selection of draught beer available to indulge in. The food ordered arrived quickly and was of a lovely quality (fish finger buttie and ploughman’s ) they both were very generous portions for a good price.

The Crafty Baa was a really unique pub we visited on our trip to the Lakes. We stopped in for a couple of drinks. We were served by Tom who was an absolute gem. He asked what we liked and gave some reccomendations. We didn't have any food, but the menu looked good and we saw others enjoying a bite to each. If we're ever in the Lakes again, we would 100% visit again. Fabulous offering and so many quirky decor elements to discover.

The Crafty Baa in Windermere turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable pubs we visited on our trip. The vibe was superb—warm, cozy, and quirky with lots of character in its interiors. We tried the apple cider and a strawberry + kiwi flat cider, both refreshing and packed with flavor, perfect to enjoy while soaking in the atmosphere. They also offer a wide variety of cocktails and food, making it a great spot whether you want just a drink or a full evening out. An absolutely superb themed bar. Great atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The Baa had an excellent range of beers, ciders and ales on tap as well as refrigerated bottled beers, lagers, cider, IPA and ales. Pipped music sets the scene. Ask for Tom to start your next drinking journey.

This place is amazing, I visited Windermere for work as a travelling bridal makeup artist, and as I was staying over, I wanted to check out somewhere local. The Crafty Baa is such a fun quirky pub and you can see all the hard work and dedication the family have put into creating this place. I had no idea about the haunted room so I had to see for myself, there were folks in there so I didn't get a proper look, but I'll bring my husband next time and we will get a table there. It didn't occur to me that the Crafty Baa meant that it was all craft beers, but with help from the staff, I chose the 1664 IPA, I'm not a beer drinker but it was actually quite nice. For food I couldn't decide between Mac and cheese balls or the good cluckin chicken wrap, so I ordered both and boy were they delicious! It looks small on the outside but there are tables on every floor and the place was packed, I sat outside on the porch. They had a coal fire inside which was lovely but too hot for me, however outside had a heater for when the night air got chilly, there was also shelter when it rained a little. I was visiting on my own and overall had a fantastic wander out before retiring back at the hotel. This one is a place to visit and I'll definitely be back

Came here twice over 2 days, really lovely and satisfying meals, their breakfast was nice and filling ahead of a day's hike, especially the breakfast bap! The burrito bowl and mac n cheese we had for lunch the following day were lovely as well, and the banana bread was not too sweet. Mixed opinion on the ice cream though, which tasted a bit like frozen yoghurt. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the place is comfortable to sit in :)

Stopped off here this afternoon for a late lunch and the food and drink was excellent. I had the special of Tarragon chicken on the menu and the Session IPA on draft which was flavourful and refreshing. Service was excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Food and drink were served quickly. Really good food quality and really tasty.

Very cool and trendy place with full bar. Booking is highly recommended. They also have rooms but we didn’t stay here. There is public parking (pay and display) just a short walk away. Stay was very friendly. They are dog friendly so our dog was very welcomed.

Honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. The pork belly was so tender it fell apart. The sausage pasta melted in the mouth. The whipped feta was so creamy and balanced and the brownie was to die for. Not to mention the twist on the passionfruit martini was chefs kiss (and strong!). Could not recommend more. The servers were so lovely and friendly. I was spoilt for choice as everything sounded so lovely and our waitress helped me choose the most outstanding courses. Will be coming back!!!

We chose Fellpack for our penultimate dinner of the trip—but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The food was good…not the best but we enjoyed our dishes (shrimp curry and the lamb with a dark chocolate dessert with orange liqueur). When we arrived, we were seated next to a large birthday party. The group was loudly playing games, shouting, and completely overtaking the atmosphere. It was so loud we could barely hear each other speak. All of the surrounding tables—mostly couples—looked equally uncomfortable, but no one said anything, perhaps assuming the staff would step in. When we quietly mentioned it to our waitress, we were surprised to learn that two of the guests at the table actually work at the restaurant. No apology, no acknowledgment—just an incredibly loud and awkward evening. Fellpack missed the mark on hospitality and atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal at The Fellpack for a special birthday. The menu is limited but it suited us perfectly. Both our 'Fellpot' dishes and desserts were full of flavour, as were the cocktails which we had a treat. The atmosphere is contemporary but cosy, the staff were very attentive (one of us is coeliac) and friendly. Portion sizes could be a tiny bit larger. But overall we would definitely return!

Popped in for a drink and a bite to eat. Had the pooch with us and we just wanted a spacious area which wasn’t manic. We have visited many places in Keswick and this was the first time in here. A traditional English pub, nothing flash but provided what we needed. Would return due to the fact it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not and other pubs are a bit chaotic once inside, dog friendly.

So my wife and myself visited today 15/07/25 with our dog as we have got a few days up in Cumbria we ordered baked potatoes with salad and 2 hot drinks We found the service good but you needed a jack hammer to actually cut through the potato itself the skin was very hard and obviously well overcooked Shane rarely because the atmosphere and the service was fine

Nice pub with a great selection of beers. Wainwright Gold was excellent. Whitby scampi and fries was accompanied by chips and a salad. A good selection of bar snacks - chilli peanuts recommended. Lots of interesting pictures and facts about Alfred Wainwright. Fast, friendly, efficient service. We'll be back.

What a great pub. With so many to choose from, this by far was our favourite. Great selection of ales. We ate there three times, great food, I would say the best pub roast I've ever had. Amazing value for money, it would be hard to equal and great service. We will be back in February, can't wait.

Nice old fashioned pub for a few good pints. Bar staff friendly, seats comfy. If you want a modern high class cocktail bar this is not for you, but if you want a comfortable pint.. perfect.

We visited as part of a big group and did cocktail making, dinner and then karaoke. A great venue for groups - 3 different floors with lots to offer. Food portions were huge but the food tasted great! Karaoke was in a room on the third floor - you were able to order drinks via a buzzer and they arrived quick. A great venue to come to as a group!

We really enjoyed our meal, we had the steak board, it is a random fusion of dishes but all were really nice quality. All dishes were seasoned really well and the steak was cooked to perfection. There was so much food we couldn't finish it all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, the venue is nicely styled and staff are friendly and enthusiastic about the menu. We started with the crispy lamb bites and crispy pork belly bites, followed by the dirty lee burger and a red thai duck curru that was probably one of the best thai curries I've had with amazing layers or flavour. But the star of the show was the damson blossom cheesecake which was a treat for both the tastebuds and the eyes. Next time we're back in the lake district Baha will definitely be on the list for a repeat visit

Booked here as staying locally. We had 1 starter two main and a bottle of wine. Even though the food was very nice we did think a tad expensive. We never had anyone check to see if our food was nice or to see if we needed anything else. The restaurant was not busy. At £28 for a bottle of house wine it would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted it opening/ pouring but just got it left on our table. Tbh the staff didn’t seem jolly or interested. The walls were marked and could have done with a bit of fresh decoration. But couldn’t fault the food we had. Asked for the bill but after waiting a while we put our coats on and had to go to the bar as our bill never turned up. Our bill had a service charge added so check this as you don’t have to pay it! Overall enjoyed our food but won’t be returning.

Amazing food. We ordered 8 dishes between 2 of us and everything was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend the Filipino short rib with bone marrow and the rum punch. Will be coming back here next time we are in Bowness.

Loved this place. Great service. Menu amazing. Although no kids menu they made so much effort with my little girls and gave them small portions. Best cauliflower (burger) I've ever tasted. We live two hours away and I'd consider driving it just for that! 😄

We were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids, who had booked a few days in advance for a Saturday afternoon lunch and a couple of drinks. We were led to a downstairs table which was perfect for our party. Great buzz around the place from the customers at other tables, with a feeling of still being quite private. Ideal for conversation with the music not overly loud. Food order was taken swiftly and drinks were brought first. We had all came down from Edinburgh with only a few hours in town, so the service was fast which we appreciated. Food was excellent, portions were plentiful and tasty. Good value for money and a wide range of menu choices. Anything left on plates was because of the volume of food!! Adult portion was halved for kids; no problem for staff to accommodate this request. Cannot fault the staff on duty on Saturday 11/10 at 14:15....I was particularly impressed with each of the staff who attended to us. Would highly recommend and would definitely travel +1hour to do it again. Well worth a visit 👍🏼

Popped in here on the off chance I might find a GLUTEN FREE choice , and I was right!! The GLUTEN FREE MENU is very impressive, lots of choice!! I went for the Spring Chicken dish which was very well cooked , very well presented, and very tasty!! I just came to Carlisle for my tea as I'd travelled from Settle on the beautiful, scenic railway, and I have to say , I made a great choice!! The staff were very helpful and polite too , which makes a refreshing change!!

My family are from Essex and we are on holiday and wanted a really good sunday roast and due to the other very positive reviews we tried this place. And i can say with full confidence that that was the best roast i have had in a very long time. I couldn’t put my fork down and i’m honestly so happy that i found this place because ei have no bad things to say about it. Staff are very friendly and very welcoming when i had a person in a wheelchair with me, they offered us use of a ramp with the front entrance and moved chairs out the way for them. They also have a disabled toilet on the lower floor and regular toilets upstairs that were really nicely decorated. The atmosphere in the place is really nice and i thoroughly recommend this place to everyone. IF U WANT THE BEST ROAST EVER COME HERE ON A SUNDAY.

This place looks incredible with the exposed brickwork, copper piping lights and scene filled resin tables. Service was quick, plenty of ales on tap, food was tasty. I had the flat iron steak, cooked perfectly, my only critique would be a little over seasoned. Highly recommend.

Food was nice. Initial service from greeter made us feel like an inconvenience from the outset. Ok it was a walk in and we didn't reserve a table, simply tell us no room and we would find somewhere else. After pointed to "that table over there" by the maitre d a nice lady came over who was very polite and took ours drinks order. Then back to misery guts who asked if we were ready to order, one of us hadn't decided so he stood over us waiting for a choice and impatiently said he could start with anyone. How about get lost for 2 mins whilst we choose? Anyway the food was actually really nice. Nice lady checked on us to make sure all was ok and to ask if more drinks were needed. Good sized helpings. Sadly no room for dessert. Go back? Probably not after that welcome. Either face didn't fit or someone was having a bad day. Don't take it out on the customers fella.

Great pub. Nice walk up from Skelwith bridge to get to it as well. Good food very nice ploughman's plenty of it and great vegan options for my daughter. Lovely little village (better before the holiday cottage industry pushed out all the locals). Highly recommend pub great friendly service. All you could want in a pub that seems to be getting harder to find.

We have just had a 4 night stay with our little dog which has been amazing. The room was spotless and the food was great. It's nice that's there's plenty of staff, all of whom worked hard and always had a smile. They even offered our dog some ham or a sausage. To top it off it's in a great location with plenty of places to visit. We will definitely be back.

During our recent stay on the nearby Langdale Estate, we had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions, and each visit was a true delight. If you're looking for proper pub food done well, The food was consistently excellent, with generous, hearty portions that are ideal for refueling after a day outdoors. We found the quality to be top-notch, offering classic comfort food that is both satisfying and delicious, for those who enjoy a drink, the selection does not disappoint. There's a great choice, particularly of local beers, perfect for sampling the regional brews. The beer garden is also a fantastic feature – a lovely spot to relax with a pint when the weather allows, soaking in the incredible views of the surrounding valley. Beyond the food and drink, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful on every visit. Their warm welcome and efficient service added significantly to the positive experience, making us feel truly at home, given its fantastic location and excellent reputation, The Inn understandably gets busy. So we strongly recommend booking a table in advance, especially if you're visiting during peak times, to avoid any disappointment.

Friendly attentive staff. IIdeally place for our stay in lodge No 82 on the Langdale Resort & Spa.. We ate here 4 times and had we known the special menu in advance would have had 4 different meals. As it was we only had the Steak & Ale Pie which was excelent. Reasonably priced as well for the lake district with most meals under £20.

Can't really comment on the rooms as didn't stay there but was a lovely pub, well looked after, nice stuff and great location. Popular with hikers due to its location. lots of seating outside

We had dinner at the pub and it was fantastic. Windemere is full of wine bars and chain pubs now. It’s worth the drive to visit a REAL pub for fish and chips and a pint. They were even kind enough to give us aluminum foil to wrap our leftovers, although it was crazy busy on a Friday night.

Beautifully located in a small hamlet with great walks right on the doorstep. Rustic feel to the place, rooms are comfortable and clean. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Would happily stay again

We stayed here for the weekend. Room was clean, spacious and had the biggest, fluffiest bath sheets I've ever seen. The breakfast was amazing and really set us up for the day. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, the place has a genuinely lovely atmosphere. To top it off for us was that it is genuinely dog friendly. Had a lovely stay and will be going back in the autumn.

Great night at the boot and shoe in. Very friendly unfortunately whilst we were there they had an electric problem in the morning which set an alarm off continuously from early hours which couldn’t be helped and electric was back on so could have a shower around 6.30/7am. All I’d say is kitchen staff are quite loud/music etc early morning and evening. Our room was the closest but radio could maybe be a bit quieter first thing in morning, but we had food there that night which was delicious and we had breakfast next morning which was equally delicious and staff very friendly. A great dog friendly local village pub to stop in.

Visited here with partner and dog about 6pm on a Monday evening, didnt book as we didnt expect it to be busy. By 7pm it was full, but it is only a small place. Popular with the locals who are friendly. Baskets of games for adults and children. Servers were polite and friendly even though they were rushed off their feet. Food delicious! Chef catered for me and made me black pudding mash instead of mustard mash. Partner had chicken burger and I had sausage and mash. Food average priced but drinks expensive. Star knocked off as it needs some tlc.

We booked to have a meal on a Saturday night during half term. Lovely quirky place. The food was great, the staff very friendly. I'd go again if the area. Two tips, there is a large free car park on the opposite side the road rather having park outside on the small road. Also, make sure you book a table. Whilst we was there they turned many people away due to being fully booked up.

Went to see My Baby play in October. The venue drinks were reasonably priced. Was a little hard to find the entrance as it off the main road but has a fabulous interior with plenty of seating. Sound system was amazing 🩵 The security were probably the best I have ever experienced. Really happy and super friendly! Ticket prices were very reasonably priced. Great place well done 👏 would definitely return 🩵

We have visited twice recently. Once to the cinema which was excellent and more recently to see a show in the Maltroom. The show was fine but you should know that the venue has a flat floor and many pillars so some seats (especially towards the back) have restricted views. We ate in the restaurant - the food is ok and it's a nice place to spend some time. The staff in both venues and the restaurant are great. All in all the Brewery Arts centre is a vibrant spot for a night out in Kendal.

Great venue for a variety of events. Good bar and restaurant with early eating offers and perks for cinema goers. Highly recommend.

It's a good theatre. If coming from the south park in Abbott Hall then there is no need to go around the one way system on the way out of Kendal.

Great arts centre with bar/restaurant, theatre, concert space and two screen cinema. Food is excellent and family-friendly. The bar includes outside seating, and in the summer, there are free concerts on Summer Sundays.

I've never visited before so didn't know what to expect but we accidentally arrived on pizza and pasta night. I chose the pepperoni pizza with vegan cheese for £5. It was amazing. The staff were friendly and remembered our favourite drinks when we returned to the bar. It was busy outside but very relaxing sat on the terrace in the sun. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Our stay at the Pentonbridge Inn was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Every course was a masterpiece, perfectly balancing creativity and flavour with the finest local ingredients. The wine pairings were expertly chosen and elevated each dish even further. Breakfast the next morning continued to impress, with fresh, high-quality offerings that were absolutely delicious. That granola OMG. We left feeling completely looked after and already planning our next visit. Pentonbridge Inn is a true gem, combining luxury, comfort, and world-class cuisine. Highly recommended!

We came over to Gretna for a family wedding but decided to come up a day early. As we had an extra night we wanted to enjoy some time together and Pentonbridge Inn was only a short drive away! From entry to exit the staff were super attentive, ensuring we were enjoying the experience at every moment. The tasting menu was incredible! Having done a couple at other Michelin star restaurant, I can confirm some of these dishes were just above and beyond! The savoury custard and fresh peas, just not what you'd expect but absolutely delicious! Really pleasant experience and would highly recommend ✨

The Pentonbridge Inn is not short of excellent reviews. why, because it is excellent. From the moment you are greeted at reception to the moment you leave the premises it oozes class. The staff, the service and the rooms are exceptionally good, combine that with wonderful food and you cannot fail to be impressed. Our stay was probably the best hotel stopover I can recall in many years. Well done to all the team at Pentonbridge Inn.

Our dinner was close to perfection - all the staff were kind, professional and knowledgable (made us laugh too, at times) and the cooking was absolutely outstanding. After a few disappointing 'top-end' dining experiences lately, our visit restored our belief in the joy that cooking and food at this level can bring. Just brilliant.

Such a beautiful wee inn! From arrival to departure was excellent! The little snacks on your bedside table and the offer of fresh milk for the room were just the start. The staff had in-depth knowledge of the dishes and wine menu so that helped if you didn’t want to have the wine flight! Breakfast was great also with great views over the rolling hills. The taster menu is a beautiful and tantalising dining experience. Staff were attentive and informative about the produce and food preparation. A lovely atmosphere. Also, the speed at which the dishes came to the table was perfect. Not rushed, but neither too slow; just right. I didn't stay. Therefore, I can not comment in the rooms.

Five Stars for Flavor, Service, and Vibe We’ve been slow traveling for almost a year now — with a full month in England — and this might be the best service we’ve had. Rosie was warm, attentive, and charming, with genuinely helpful recommendations that made the whole night feel like a treat. The Heat Wave cocktail might be my favorite ever: think a grown-up Sour Patch Kid with a whisper of watermelon leather dancing on top. Nigel had a vodka tonic that was perfectly balanced — a little sweet, a little spicy, just right. Dinner didn’t disappoint. I had the seabass — light, perfectly cooked, and elegantly simple. Nigel went for the burger with sriracha fries, which he’s still talking about. Not light, but absolutely worth it. From the skilled barmen to the well-crafted ambiance, Derwent Walker nails it. We’re only in town for five days — and we’re already planning to come back. Well done 👏

Popped in as a walk-in whilst visiting the Lakes and was massively impressed. The upstairs restaurant was well laid out so that you’re not on top of each other and can enjoy a great meal without hearing the conversations of everyone around you. The tapas plates are a good size, the halloumi sliders (with fries) are delicious with the chilli jam and toasted brioche bun. With this, the beer and bacon mac & cheese was, again, delicious (recommend dunking a few fries in the sauce). The larger plates are a perfect size to have with a small plate on the side, as our server Grace recommended. The steak option was incredible, with perfectly seasoned potatoes and asparagus. However, the Tuscan chicken was the dish of the night. My wife said that it was the best pasta she has ever tasted and the little bit she left had loads of chicken and tomatoes. My wife also had a mocktail which was, in her words, “refreshingly delicious”. On the whole, it was pricey but was a brilliant evening and I shall be trying to recreate the food at home because it was so good.

If you are visiting the Lake district for a pint with a perfect view, then the lake view garden bar is a must. It offers an amazing view of the lakes. There is a balcony or garden area to take in the views and atmosphere. There is also a qwerkyness to the place too if you chose to sit in, with plenty of decor to look around. The food is very nice too, it looks and tasted amazing plenty of choice to choose from not just your average pub food.

The Lake View Garden Bar is a fantastic spot with stunning views across the lake, making it the perfect place to relax with a drink and a meal. 🛥️🌄 The food was excellent 🤤 All in all, a brilliant experience, and we'll definitely be back! 🫶🏼🤞🏼

Called in here for a drink. We sat outside one afternoon which was nice as it overlooked the lake and had patio heaters. One evening we sat inside and there was a singer / guitarist on which was nice. Dog friendly.

Food and drinks aren’t the cheapest here but you need to remember you aren’t just paying for the food you are also paying for the location so it’s reasonable when you see the views! Highly recommend the burger and the cheesy garlic bread.

Lovely location and building. Let down by the poor service. The staff didnt give of a warm welcoming vibe and neither were they very attentive. This place could easily be alot more than what it is. Would reccomend for a quick drink but far nicer places to eat.

Great quirky building with two floors. Wide selection of beer and ales, though the large board featuring them all is a little confusing. Didn't get to try any food as the kitchen isn't open today. Friendly and helpful staff, but couldn't get half pints which is a bit unusual.

Great little bar with seating upstairs and down. It can get busy especially on a weekend or if they have a musician on but you can book a table. 8-10 beers and ciders available on tap at the bar but fridges full of cans and bottles from all over. The cans and bottles I found to be a little pricey. Always worth popping it, funky interior design.

Great bar in Keswick. We went twice in one day. Perfect for an afternoon pint or night for Live music and good atmosphere. Loads of beer choices if you're a beer bore and all priced so no surprises. They even give you free snacks of popcorn or crisps. Handsome Hound was a very nice pint 👌 They also have food but I didn't eat

Lovely venue, great collection of beers and quirky venue! … but a one hour wait for food. Seems to be no matter what you order, it is delivered on a first served basis. For example, we ordered OLIVES and waited 45 minutes for them to arrive.

Love this pub, loads to look at all over walls and ceilings, great chalk/games board for kids and adults ! Anita and Jean are great assets to the place, great for a chat and a laugh. My favourite frozen glass lager, the best. Amazing selection of unusual beers. We always pop in and recommend to friends. Wish they would restock the T-shirts , wanted one for ages. Be back soon.

Walking along an alley way and finding this gem. Beautifully decorated, light, fresh and not too modern. Large cups of tea for one person which is very generous size. Pot for two would of given 4 cups of tea. Things I noticed, reading books for adults and children, wooden tables and chairs matching decor, stone detail which matches the small town, friendly staff. Toilet decorated in relaxed colour with plenty of facilities including nappy changing area. Showing a relaxing atmosphere 👍😊 Improvements: please remove the picture of men sitting on a steel beam American (black and white) would be nice to see something related to kendal... The step as you enter is too short for disabled customers as witnessed by myself while a person was struggling. Toilet handle screws coming loose.

We are local & im so glad the new owners are doing such great job with 19 the Wine Bar. Our absolute favourite place the eat & drink in Kendal. Will be back soon !

What a find! Went for food on a quiet evening and were just out of time... Chef Jon was just leaving... he insisted that we should have food and, not listening to our protests to go and enjoy his evening, he insisted... he made us a beautiful cheese platter with his homemade gluten free crackers! It was all delicious! The staff are so nice and the inside is chic, with a cozy area... it has a lovely roof terrace for lovely summer or chillier evenings (patio heaters)... What a wonderful find! We were curious to check out what looked like a quaint cafe from the outside- inside there is a whole world, with lots of different and beautifully decorated areas to sit. Very comfortable, lovely staff who gave us the tour. We stayed for lunch which was delicious and we are already planning our next visit.

We had a few drinks here the other weekend whilst celebrating our anniversary and bumped into some old pals so were there for quite a while, felt right at home - it is small, it can get busy - as can any bar. Everyone was having a good time and the atmosphere was mint

First visit late on a Friday night. The staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful. A very good choice of gins, where I was able to try one that was new to me. It's located at the top corner of Botchergate so perfect for watching the world go by. Located opposite the Citadel it's a great first stop off the bus or train. It's a small bar, but set out well to maximise space. It was clean and tidy too. As it was still warm we chose to sit outside, where staff checked on our needs and advised us of last orders. I am definitely going to visit again as I feel I could easily while away time relaxing here.

We initially loved this bar on our day out in Carlisle. We met here 1st and it had a great vibe. We came back late afternoon prior to getting our trains home. My daughter went to the toilet. Was gone less than 1 min and came back to our table outside. One of the bar staff came running out after her saying ‘Have you just been sick in the toilets - someone’s left lots of toilet roll everywhere’. My daughter prostrated that she’d had just been in there for a very quick pee- but the staff member was so rude. It totally ruined the bar for us and we left. Please be careful what you accuse people of! We were just having a drink before our train. Not drunk and certainly not vomiting!

Me and my friend visited this place earlier this week. We were looking for a safe place to leave our luggages while visiting Carlisle city. We were advised at the train station to go to this bar so we did :-) there was absolutely amazing and very friendly staff who took our heavy bags and kept them safe. We could enjoy our city walk and later on we actually had some drinks before our train was scheduled. I seriously would like to recommend this bar not only for your luggage storage but also for drinks and having a good time there :-)

An excellent place with great service, friendly people, and a welcoming atmosphere — even dogs are welcome, which is a big plus! That said, I did feel the menu could use a proper steak option. For the price, I was hoping for a big, hearty, whopper-sized steak. The lemon meringue was also a little on the sweeter side; perhaps a touch of fresh whipped cream would help balance the dessert. Other than that, everything else was wonderful. The staff are warm, the vibe is relaxed, and it’s definitely a spot to visit

Booked last minute and needed it to be close to the m6, very pleasant girl on reception who was extremely helpful and booked us in for dinner, rooms clean large and had everything we needed. Food was again very good just took a good 40-60 mins to arrive, over all a good experience and would stay again. Even provided dog bed and bowl as I had my spaniel.

5 Stars We travelled down to Wetheral for the weekend (5th April) to meet up with family, as it’s exactly halfway between a few of us—and I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the village is. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the Crown Hotel and its beautiful grounds. The service throughout our stay was excellent, with every staff member we encountered being friendly and helpful. Our room (254) was spacious, clean, and very comfortable—exactly what we needed for a relaxing break. The hotel’s location is perfect too, right in the heart of the village with some lovely walks along the river nearby. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere throughout the hotel. We’ll definitely be returning to the Crown Hotel in Wetheral—highly recommended!

Gorgeous room as it was our wedding weekend.The only concern for me was the bathroom mirror!! Too high or im too small!! Service in the dining room was abit slow.Food was lovely.Nreakfast good to.

I started setting up weddings here over 11 years ago and l can only say the recent refurbishment is super elegant and with the beautiful grounds and the river close by, its an ideal destination for a wedding or celebration, great photo opportunities!

The hotel was in a beautiful village, rooms were very clean and tidy. We ate in the bar, food was lovely. The staff were professional and very helpful, we left a phone charger in the room and they helped return it to us.

Awful service. I've stayed at this hotel a few times and they've made a habit of ruining my stay by either giving me a substandard room or relocating me without notice to an inferior hotel a 15 min drive away! I wouldn't usually write such a scathing review however this isn't the first occasion this has happened to me and frankly I'm fed up.

In Carlisle you can’t find much craft beer but thanks to Brewdog for saving my life because they always offer the great variety of craft beers their own brew as well as the guest breweries. Still the prices are very pocket friendly compared to other places around. The staff are really friendly and helpful to choose a drink for you incase if you don’t know much. Big seating area and there's even pool tables. Perfect for party and have great fun. Really recommend if you around in area.

We booked a table, in advance, for food and drinks and first impressions as we arrived at the bar was the stench of stale urine whilst ordering but didn’t think too much of it. But after a beer or two I needed the loo and oh my God; the state of the toilet was unbearable, in my personal opinion. There was not a single urinal available - all were covered up. I assume the wet floor was urine give the smell. When ordering our drinks at the bar, we were advised that despite our booking being 4pm, food would not be available until at least 4:30pm. Food was ok, drinks were ok. But that’s about as good as it got I’m afraid. Having been to several BrewDog locations, nothing has come close to the experience at DogTap Ellon. If I’m honest, everywhere else just seems to be sub-par. Carlisle - definitely wasn’t it. I think if this was someone’s first BrewDog visit, it would also be their last. The whole time we sat at our table (2 hours) no one collected a single empty glass or our finished food. Definitely not a great experience. Bearing in mind the bar was practically empty the whole time, I can’t find a reason as to why this wasn’t attended to.

We went for food and drinks today. 2 adults and 4 children. The service was brilliant and the pizzas were the best I’ve ever tasted. Thankyou so much. Good deal too. Would highly recommend

Well designed bar, lending to an American style with long bar on one side and bench / booth seating opposite. Free Pool tables / board games at the rear which is a great touch and balances out the, admittedly slightly over priced drinks. Very much aimed towards beer drinkers. Pleasant staff, quality pizza's and decent music and decor which creates a solid atmosphere all-round.

Love this place! Always a great vibe here, but the bar staff are what really make it. Super friendly, chatty, and they actually know their stuff when it comes to the beers. You can tell they enjoy being there, and it makes the whole experience way better. Always feel welcome. Top spot for a pint (or a few)!

Just had a fantastic 5 night stay at the Coniston Inn. The hotel is situated in lovely grounds right next to Coniston Water, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms are to a very high standard, the restaurant serves lovely food and the staff are really friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. The hotel is extremely dog friendly, has good wi-fi access and I thought it was great that the room had a smart TV on which I could access my streaming services like Amazon Prime and Netflix. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be visiting again.

Just returned from a Walk inn break. A lovely, well managed hotel. The staff were great, nothing too much bother. Stunning location, right next to the lake, and a pleasant, half mile walk into the centre of Coniston. Very well kept grounds and very clean. A large free car park was a bonus for the lakes. The best Inn collection hotel we have stayed at so far. Very dog friendly which is a must for us.

We stayed at The Coniston Inn for 4 nights and overall had a pleasant time, though there were a few things that could’ve been better. The location is lovely and peaceful, with beautiful views from the garden and plenty of places to explore nearby. Parking was never an issue, and the room facilities were generally good. Food wise, it was a bit hit and miss. Some meals were cooked perfectly, while others (especially the veg and chips) were a little underdone. Desserts, however, were absolutely superb, and the breakfast selection and quality were genuinely impressive. That said, the food did feel a little overpriced for what it was. Our room had an extra large double bed, but it was actually two singles pushed together, which made the middle quite uncomfortable especially if you like a morning cuddle! The toilet didn’t flush properly most of the time, and the shower pressure was very weak, which was a shame. WiFi was decent, and the staff ranged from really lovely to just okay depending on who you got. Not a bad stay by any means, but with a few tweaks it could have been much better

Love this place We stayed here for a few nights a few summers ago And since then we visit a few times a year The food is tasty and it’s a great place to hang out with a coffee once in a while Views are amazing! We were a booking of 12 adults, a kid of 10 and 7 dogs. The staff were great, friendly and attentive. I've knocked one star off due to my pheasant being overcooked and very dry in places. I'd like to give 4½ stars but only full stars are allowed and it wasn't perfect. Everything else was good.

We popped in whilst sight seeing. Our barman was a friendly Australian and the service was fabulous and we had delicious snacks. An enjoyable visit.

Lovely two night break at The Coniston Inn - very pleased it’s so disabled friendly with a lift. Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds overlooking the lake with mountain backdrop. Coniston is a favourite place of ours, lovely to find a good hotel that’s accessible. Excellent staff, room and food. Spotlessly clean. Outstanding!

Great venue with great sound too. Standing only bit this only adds to the atmosphere. Beer was also good value for money. Only around 5 mins walk from the bus station. 10 from the train station. Definitely worth another visit

Nice small venue on the periphery of the city, plenty of parking spaces, free on street parking after 7pm, car park across from the front door charges 24/7 but but not that expensive. There is a large bar as you go in which is opened up early, so you don't need to queue in the rain! I was down to see Dutch rockers FOCUS, it was unallocated seating, not sure if it is always the case, I managed to get a front row seat, there was a gap between seat and stage so you're not pressed up to the stage, the sound quality was excellent, someone must have told the sound engineer that there are mid and high frequencies. - it's not all about the bass! Focus were brilliant. The toilets were clean, staff friendly. The only slight negative was the light rig, had a bright white light shining into my face all night, don't know why lights are positioned behind the band facing out into the audience. As this venue is only about a two hour drive I hope to visit it again.

Good selection of drinks, all served in plastic for safety reasons. Parking opposite and 100 m from a local bus stop. Bus station is only about 700 m walk.

When I visited, part of the ground floor area was sectioned off and a baby 'disco' was being held! Besides the function area, the ground floor also holds the box office and the McGrew's restaurant where I stopped for lunch. The Hunter chicken burger was okay; good portion, reasonable price. Upstairs, there are more functions rooms and also the Carlisle Contemporary Art gallery (free to visit). Tip: Visit the website and read about the history of the place. Overall, it's a good place, well maintained/staffed and seems like a decent venue for various activities. The history side to the fire station is also interesting!

Great Ale!

A great traditional pub nestled in scenic Ambleside. The exterior is colourfully decorated with real flowers, and the interior is covered wall to wall with pieces of intrigue including all sorts of photos, drawings, and maps of the local area (some of which are inset into the tables). The building itself is hundreds of years old and retains a lot of the strange features old buildings often have. An open plan bar contrasts the small single table hideaway just a few metres away. Small steps leading to rooms with only a few tables, wrought iron furniture, and seats set into bay windows really show how untouched by modern standards this place is. A shelf of board games and a TV with some live sports provides entertainment on demand. I'm a huge fan of the Golden Rule and often find myself returning when visiting the Lakes. The toilet facilities are also clean with a disabled toilet available and baby changing only in the ladies. The beer is exclusively Robinson's, but a wide selection of it. Unfortunately you still can't escape the Cumbrian obsession with sparklers on the pumps here, so pints are usually a tad short (there has been no issue with topping pints up if requested). The beer has always been good quality and well kept when I've had it, although I have heard others disagree at times. The staff are very friendly and a touch banterous, greatly appreciated by the tourists and locals alike. Bar snacks are available including the slightly more substantial pork pies for weary hikers. A small outside seating area compliments the generous interior. Overall my number one choice for a pub in Ambleside. The beer is good and you can find yourself getting lost in the maze of small rooms and the history that goes along with it.

Usually a place we visit in winter, the pub has a lovely outside space for thoss wishing to enjoy a pint. The space is clean and well managed, with ample seating and is dog friendly.

It would be no easy task to persuade me that this is not the best pub in Ambleside. The selection of local real ales is both wide and worthy, and the establishment possesses all the aesthetic charms of an English pub that a travelling American might most ardently desire. The pork pie was one of the best I’ve tasted.

Great, old school pub. If you like real ales, it's a must. Doesn't do food menu, but do offer scotch eggs or pork pie to go with your pint.

This is a very well located hotel if you are planning to stay in Keswick. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Derwentwater lake and the Keswick Launch area where you can buy tickets to go to the Catbell hiking trail. The hotel is right in the city area. The Thursday and Saturday market is right outside the entrance of the hotel and is a good place to get souvenirs. Walkable to several stores right outside the hotel which includes boots, cafes, a pizza place and several outdoor hiking stores. The rooms are cozy and clean with a nice shower. Though note the rooms can get a tad bit warm at times. There is no fridge in the rooms. The TVs are also a bit older with no apple play or screen-share options. So bring a HDMI cable if you need to watch anything that needs streaming. The elevators were not working on the day that we came (we did get an email notification about this prior). We did get a room on the 1st/2nd floor that made the stairs bearable! Friendly staff. Paid hotel parking available. Just make sure to book the hotel parking before hand. There are some parking areas right behind the hotel which is another option that can be considered. Would definitely consider this hotel if I am ever visiting Keswick again.

Stumbled across this this evening when looking for somewhere for dinner. 2 adults and a 3 year old. Very friendly staff who couldn't do more to help. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. (Despite apologising that service may be slightly slower due to a large party) but was as quick as, or even quicker than other restaurants in the area. Would highly recommend and will be back again on our next trip

We ate at the restaurant and ordered the Chateaubriand steak for two. It delivered on all levels. Soft tender steak with enough accompaniements to leave very satisfied. Thank you, it hit the spot. Charlotte looked after us and she made it extra special. Thank you, we will come again.

Had a meal here every thing was really good we had the chicken curry the fish and chips and a burger all meals were fresh and delicious. We also sat in the separate bar area for a few drinks this was a nice and chilled area with comfy seats.the staff are all very helpful and friendly and funny especially Drageo the waiter who served our meals .Would definitely recommend this place.

Recently stayed here in room 211. Fantastic location and the views were stunning. Breakfast was spot on too. Would give 5 stars all day, but the rooms were hotter than the nuclear reactor at Chernobyl! It was absolutely roasting, there was a thermostat in the room that was not wired in?!?

What a wonderful suprise to discover this hotel! Best possible location, friendly staff & modern design. A special shout out to the duty manager, Alande, who made our stay so special, who looked after us and made us feel at home. We found it difficult to leave. But we will definitely return!

I like the Brickyard; it's a great little venue. Nice people and a great bar. Wheelchair access is possible via the side door. Currently, there are no accessible toilets, but I have been advised that there are active plans to convert the current performers dressing room into an accessible bathroom. That will take it from a great venue to a perfect venue.

The cocktails are amazing and you can’t beat it for £7.25! Also a great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Didn't eat but a late drink with our son visiting him at university. We have visited Tipple on many occasions when in Lancaster and certainly will again. Lovely place great service and atmosphere. Slight negative the toilets were unusually unkempt on this visit.

Best cocktails in Lancaster and super service. Very knowledgeable lady behind the bar that put great effort into making our drinks and was chatty at the same time which was nice. It's table service. We were given a card to turn over when we wanted another drink which is a great idea and we received super quick service. I'm not keen on the high metal stools that are hard to get on if you are a shorter or 'larger' person and they make a lot of noise as they scrape on the floor or bang into the table legs. I would love to give 5 stars but sadly I've been to nicer looking places and had cheaper cocktails as good in other cities. Would be nice to see some other offers on the menu such as buy 1 get one for 1/2 price as they are very expensive when buying individually.

Lovely cocktail lounge spread over three floors. Short but exciting drinks menu. There is beer too if you are with a fancy drinker but prefer the simpler things. Prices are fair, but become great when you factor in how NICE the cocktails are. Fab stuff!

We like to come here after a meal when we get the chance, always a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The staff are really knowledgeable about various drinks and even make adjustments to your taste when trying the drinks. We particularly liked our waiter tonight, really nice man. He was up and down the stairs all the time checking if we wanted more drinks and I noticed he was always cleaning and wiping communal areas a lot. Always impressed, will keep coming

The best beers and place to have a drink in Keswick, especially when it is nice a sunny to sit outside in the beer garden. It has a new wooden/roofed gazebo to sit under if raining or sunny. They sell a cracking selection of beers and you can do brewery tours on certain days. If you love to chill out, sit outside and drink quality beer, this is a must.😊 They also sell Gluten free beers and low alcohol beers.

Good selection of locally brewed beers . Lots of outside seating. Great atmosphere, well worth a visit. Also, a shop so you can stock up on the beers to take home.

We ended up having a private brewery tour with Nigel who was excellent in describing the brewing process and showing us around the brewery. The tour was excellent value and included a welcome drink and a tasting paddle. The pub is well deserving of its CAMRA accolades and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Keswick!

A great pint every time. Lots of outdoor space, can get particularly busy towards a weekend. Highlight on keg for me is the Thirst Quencher Pale and on cask has to be Thirst Rescue, with a small donation to Mountain Rescue with every pint. Very dog friendly.

I recently visited The Flying Pig restaurant in Windermere and tried their pork knuckle menu. Overall, The Flying Pig restaurant is a place I would happily recommend, especially for anyone who enjoys classic, well-prepared pork dishes served with a smile.

Decent food portions. Not particularly special. Notable is the pork trotter which is sizeable and fairly good. Service is average, unintrusive but perfunctory. Environment is warm and kid and dog friendly.

We ate here twice during our week in Bowness, and popped in for a drink every day. The pub is absolutely exceptional! Food is great, service is excellent and the atmosphere is so friendly. We took our dog with us everytime and we were made to feel so welcome. They have a special dog menu and station for biscuits, water and bowls which is some of the best facilities we’ve ever seen. We can’t wait to come back on our next break!

This pubs website states that the british food is usually described as bland and not good to compared to other countries (which they then said they changed that). however they made perfectly true in the food we were served! took about 5 mins to speak to someone about getting a table and the staff themselves were nice however the food was terrible. we had a roast dinner each (trio meats) and cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets, food took about 20mins to come out which wasn’t terrible timing i suppose, however i would’ve waited longer if that meant i got something hot! the gravy was like water and had no taste and cold, the meats themselves were bland and cold. potatoes were fluffy however not crispy and had no flavour except soil, unsure if you see the theme but they were cold. the veg was good, once again cold. cauli cheese was hot!! and flavourless… yorkshire tasted store bought and not fresh (cold!!!). pigs in blankets were good but not sure how you could mess that up, they were warm! took about 30mins to get a servers attention, i’m not one to complain but it was a disgrace. so i complained lightly to the server ( who was new and was not trained enough to be serving alone, i’ve worked in pubs i know how this should work.) and he was somewhat apologetic, then the manager came over shortly and he was nice about everything and gave us a 10% discount (i did not ask for any discount this was at his own doing) and offered us free deserts for when we next come, which we won’t be.. atmosphere was nice however nice fire and building, cleanliness was good. however does not make up for the disgrace of a roast and service! we left not happy and still hungry. should’ve got ice cream for desert and the running theme was cold through our visit.

I’ve eaten here a fair few times now. The food here is always nice with good portion sizes. This time I had the new pork knuckle which was huge. Had this dish in Prague recently and this was just as tasty. Traditional pub with nice selection of real ales. Recommended.

Absolutely shocking. Ordered the half chicken and the skin on the chicken was burnt. The meat beneath it was dry and over cooked. Didn’t even offer a discount or for it to be taken off the bill. I tried to eat it all but just wasn’t edible! I don’t complain much at ever. Their response was they had a new cook helping the chef. Well that’s not my problem! You can’t serve food like this!!! If they had offered a discount or taken it off the bill I would not be writing this review. They didn’t even try rectifying the situation.

Walked in on a weekday afternoon and the place was quite empty. Food was served shortly after ordering and they all tasted lovely. The sausage was probably the best one I have had in this UK trip, well seasoned but not too salty. Super smooth and buttery potato mash. The caper used in cooking the seabream fillet made it taste special and refreshing. I would highly recommend this place for a decent lunch or dinner.

Sitting here now with my Wife in The Tilly Bar. My wife has just had the GF inferno Cajun Chicken Burger with GF onion rings and she's actually in 7th Heaven. The GF bun for her burger was the best she's had 👍 I myself had the Inferno steak burger and to be honest, it's probably the best burger I have ever had, I've been to a lot of places throughout the world and this beats the Gordon Ramsay burger in Vegas. Excellent service, just lovely food and a nice place to eat 🥳🎉🥳🎉 It's hard finding something decent for my wife but this is the place to come for GF food 😋😋

We had their fish and chips, halloumi sandwich and Somersby cider. The fish was crispy outside and tender inside, nicely done, the chips were cooked well too. The halloumi and avocado was a good combination, though the flat bread was not at the freshest. The service was fine.

We went here for dinner as most places in the area were already closed after 5pm. This spot caught our eye, so we decided to give it a try. It looked small and was quite busy inside, but they had more seating in the back. We chose a table by the window, which was great for some fresh air and just the right level of background noise. We ordered the cheese steakburger and the veggie cheeseburger – both were amazing! The burgers were a perfect size, served with a generous portion of really tasty fries. We had ketchup, mayo, and diet coke on the side. The prices felt fair for the quality and portion size. Honestly, it was one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had. Definitely recommend! Also, the girl who served us was super nice and professional.

Amazing young bright attentive team, happy to accomodate my 12 week old son. non of the staff looked rushed off their feet which was nice to see. Food came in a timely fashion clearly cooked from fresh. pie with Jù was delicious, pan fried sea bream was perfect. Steak Burger was perfect and burger sauce was tasty! atmosphere beautiful, our boy slept right through. superb customer service i look forward to returning

We visited Windermere for a long weekend and came back twice to Tilly’s because the food, service and atmosphere was so lovely and welcoming. Also dog friendly! Which is important to us. Their gluten free choices were substantial and the food was amazing! Next time we are in the Lake District we will definitely be coming back to Tilly’s!

We managed to snaffle an outside table, just before food finished on the hottest day. Lovely food, good service and nice beer. Would recommend, but don't forget food stops at 20:00.

We stayed here for one incredibly busy Sunday night but didn't eat. The pub is huge especially the outside part with live music on. It was a decent pint with friendly staff. The large room with high ceilings facing the back yard was excellent & clean with good facilities though the bathroom was tired & ideally needed updating. We were warned about the noise before hand from the music so it wouldn't suit everyone.

Absolutely recommend there roast sharer platter for 2! The food is stunning, the portions are huge and great value for money. The staff were all very friendly and overall a lovely atmosphere to dine x

It came relatively quickly, however for the price was absolutely appalling. We ordered two burgers, two Parmesan truffle fries and some onion rings. The burgers for the most part were fine, very chewy, although this was the only positive for the order. The fries, or should I say tub of Parmesan, were awful. There were very little fries which very greasy and drowned in Parmesan which made them almost inedible.It was almost as if the whole supply of Parmesan from the restaurant had been dumped on top. The onion rings were worst of all, when I first picked the box up I thought it was some sort of sauce they were in however upon opening the box it turned out to be oil. Not just a little bit at the bottom, it was to the point of filling the entire bottom of the container with oil which was clearly visible when flipped upside down on the lid. You couldn’t even pick up the food as it had turned to mush. Very poor food for the price we paid and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is local or chooses to pass by. If I knew how to attach images I would. Shocking.

Can't fault the staff as they were polite and helpful. The room however! A quick check around the room showed numerous cob webs everywhere so no idea when it had been last hoovered properly. If that wasn't bad enough ( but bearable ) my partner moved a chair to find a used pair of men's boxers discarded on the floor! Won't be returning again!

We stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The room itself was not the cleanest, but we could have overlooked that. What really shocked and upset us was when a man unlocked and entered our room as if it was his. When we reported this to the staff, we were first told it was housekeeping, but later they admitted it was a mistake and another guest had been given our room key. This was extremely unsettling and unacceptable. On top of that, when we returned to sleep, we discovered that the duvet was torn and, even worse, the middle of the bed was wet. That was the final straw. Never ever again

Best thing about this place is the staff. Felt like I'd been drinking here years. Couldn't do enough The food was hot and out in fab time so no problems there The transparency over late nights is refreshing but didn't affect our trip.

Came for lunch. Super quiet but fab food and staff, would return! No before pics of the food because we scarfed it all down. Didn't stay at the hotel.

We had a mixed experience at The Flying Fleece. My fish & chips was generous & hot but my wife's Sunday dinner was not very warm. We enjoyed the our time there, but it was spoilt by a slightly below average meal.

It's a nice place for food and a drink or just a drink. I had the fish and chips it was really nice. Service was very fast. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Ambleside. Its location is central and easy to get to. It dose get very packed around lunch and dinner times. Music for some can be a little obnoxious at times.

This is a great place that is at the edge of town so although there are many people walking about, this seems a bit quieter. Saying that the place was busy. The staff were good and perfect for a drink after walking around town. The place inside is clean and plenty of space.

We just stopped here for a drink, nice bar to come to, really friendly staff and a good selection of drinks to choose from. We came on a Saturday at the start of summer and it was busy, although that is to be expected. We still managed to find a table though. Would recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Nice large pub with a good atmosphere. Food was great had the roast beef. Could have donecwith a little more gravey. Asked for some and came in a small jug which was great. Upstairs gents very small could only fit 1 person in their which could be an issue when very busy. In all a nice experience had by everyone. Would definitely go back again if we went bk to the lakes.

We found the food here to be about average but adequate. What I would call typical chain pub food. Having said that ..the drinks and service were good.

Called in for a Sunday roast and it was great. The beef was very tasty (slices of Rib Eye) and the veg was good. The 3 sides for £10 was good value too and decent portion sizes for sides with enough to share between 4 of us. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is the roast potatoes weren't good at all - but forgivable as the rest of the dinner was wonderful.

A very bizarre little bar. Some great signage and decor and a really good selection of local keg offerings. Three thirds for £7.95 is decent to allow a taste of several. They also have a well stocked fridge full of cans to drink in or take out. There was only one cat in the main bar as the 'cat room' was closed, which suited us just fine!! A totally different pub experience for most of the lakes, and with well kept local brews on tap, what more could you ask for? Unless you hate cats. Obvs.

I have in the past stopped off whilst out walking to pick up a couple of Rucksack tins with the 'Cat Pissed ipa' being the beer choice. Finally managed to stop off for a well deserved rest up with the cats whilst enjoy a couple of pints of the 'Cat Pissed' on draft n it was a couple of hours well spent. And the fridges are well stocked with a superb selection of tins for drink ins or take outs Oh.. added note for you all. KITTchEN also do T-shirts (but I don't know if Google maps will allow the photo.. but one can only try!). Will I make a return visit? Most definitely yes!

A Cat Rescue/Pub...I stopped in to try "The Cat Pissed IPA" Which was a smooth & refreshing IPA. The facility sells cans of their Microbrew...so I got to purchase a few cans for later

KITTchEN: P*ssy & Pints is a unique independent craft beer bar and cat lounge that offers customers the opportunity to drink beer and rescue cats! Luckily, these are my favourite pastimes!! The cafe opened in May 2018 and is now a permanent fixture in the small village. The bar offers craft beers from the Fell Brewery, which brews the Cat Pissed IPA, and other lakeland breweries. It has a strict no-dogs, no-kids policy and limits groups to no more than 6 people. The cat room is currently open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 12 noon to 6 pm. It is a great little business that deserves support if visiting Hawkshead.

It’s a pub with rescue cats and it’s purrfect. Lovely change in comparison to the pay by the minute cat cafes that seem to always have kittens and young cats. Things all lovely friendly rescue cats and there’s no rush, you can just sit and enjoy your drinks and watch them or play with them with toys. We got a couple of speciality beers and ciders which were reasonably priced.

Popped in for a pint when I arrived in Hawkshead, asked if they have Gluten free beer and met one of the owners, Luke, he went through all of the options they had, ended up spending most of my afternoon there drinking and talking about the different local beers and general life. If you like beer and are in Hawkshead this place is an absolute must! Also on food, they don’t actually serve food but the snack options are exceptional!

A magical place. I can't call it a pub, or a bar, maybe a tap room? But, what i can tell you is that if - like me - you enjoy incredible craft beer, then, you have to visit. Super knowledgeable owners, who do their best to keep the best local beers on tap, and then, for beers further afield, they have 3 or 4 fridges full of great great beer in cans. A most amazing place, went for a week to the Lakes to go walking, cycling and kayaking, and ended up in here every evening. Very VERY special. My son loved it too, making friends with the cats that they have adopted.
