Great atmosphere, mediocre food Atmosphere: I stepped in for lunch during the week. I was seated immediately in the naturally lit dining area. I was impressed with the decorations. It truly gave "summer house," vibes. Service: My server was pleasant and helpful! The bill is paid online; they have a QR code at your table for payment. That was convenient, but I took that to mean they don't accept cash, which I was planning to pay with initially. Food: My food came out within 10 minutes of putting my order in, which was a huge plus for me. Appetizer: Wagyu Meatballs - 8/10 The meatballs were soft, slightly spicy and well seasoned. They had a minor unpleasant smell to them when they were served, but once I got over that, they were very enjoyable! Entree: Shaved Mushroom Pizza - 4/10 The pizza was wood fired. The highlight was the crispy crust. As pictured, the rosemary leaves were generously spread onto the pizza, and it overtook the flavor, and texture. The rosemary leaves were crispy as well. It felt like I was chewing on tea. The center was quite oily and horribly seasoned (if at all.) I would not recommend this entree. Bottom Line: If you value atmosphere over the taste of the food, you might have a winner here at Summer House Santa Monica.

Honestly, it was okay and underwhelming. Went for an early Saturday dinner only to be disappointed by the service and food. Things started off well, but went down hill beginning with our service. Once our server took our order we never really saw them again. No drink refills, no water refills, and paid more attention to the 5 top and extremely drunk and loud three top. The busboy was more attentive to our needs than our server….. Our apps were good but entrees were severely under seasoned and cold. Beautiful restaurant, okay food and poor service. The chocolate chip cookie at Summer House Santa Monica is hands down the best I’ve ever had. I recently tried the famous Levain cookie, and while that was great, this one is truly on another level—out of this world. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and with the variety of cookies they offer, I can’t wait to come back and try them all. 5/5, easily.

Summer House Santa Monica was my lunch pick for my 50th birthday! The space is gorgeous and the food is delicious. I chose it bc of the cookie bar and was pleasantly surprised by the food. It’s prob the best fish and chips I’ve had in Chicago and the mushroom pizza!! Oh my GOODness!!

Is it really a trip to Chicago if you don’t stop by Summer House? Highly recommend booking a reservation—when I went for a weekday lunch, there wasn’t an empty seat in sight. Let’s start with their amazing baked goods: absolutely irresistible. When I asked for extra cheese on my pasta, they understood the assignment perfectly. If you're looking for great pizza, this is one of the must visit spots in Chicago. The atmosphere is cozy and homey, and they offer a nice selection of wines. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious with generous portions definitely worth the price. Highly recommended!

Summer House is a solid place to eat. Nothing is outstanding, but nothing is bad! The service is good, the food is good, the drinks are good. If you want a place where you feel comfortable and you know what you’re getting, this is a great place. If you’re looking for something exceptional or out of the ordinary, you’ll be disappointed.

The staff is always very kind and helpful! The pan dulce is some of my favorite in the city and throughout the month of February the had so many heart shaped concha’s and cookie options, I came in once a week just to stock up! 😍

This lovely little panadería really feels like a slice of Mexican culture. The bakery has a warm, authentic atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The pastries smell amazing and taste just as good, with a great variety to choose from. I especially love coming here during the fall when the Día de los Muertos decorations are up — they’re beautiful and add a special touch. If you visit, I definitely recommend grabbing a concha to dip in your hot coffee. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Holy crap wow. I’ve lived a short walk from this place for over a year. Finally just happened upon it walking by after the train. Everything is amazing and very reasonably priced. A true Chicago gem here in Pilsen.

Beautiful bakery! Delicious smells and all of the pastries are gorgeous. The vegan items are labeled and set off in a section at one side with separate trays and tongs. The tortillas are amazing. Thank you for offering vegan options!

On a food tour of this neighborhood and the guide took us into here to try a chirro... It was so good and many of our group bought a lot of backgoods.

I love this place. I'm from a neighboring state so I stock up on the vegan pan when I'm in town 😁. My only regret is not buying more. Love this place. Definitely call ahead if you want certain vegan pans to make sure they're in stock.

I came to Sweet Mandy B’s on a quiet afternoon, just looking for something sweet 🍰. The moment I walked in, it felt familiar 🕯️. The smell reminded me of home 🏡. Like someone baking for the people they love ❤️. I ordered a cupcake 🧁 and sat by the window. Everything felt calm ☕. No rush. No pressure. Just warmth. There were kids picking out cookies 🍪 and someone picking up a birthday cake 🎂 with a big smile 😊. It all felt honest and simple. This place is not trying to be trendy. It is just real and that is what makes it special ✨. I did not expect it to stay with me, but it did. I will definitely be back 🔁.

Wow. 10/10. 5 stars. Standing ovation! When I tell you that this was the best gluten free cookie I’ve had where they perfected the softness of the cookie - I mean it. I might have to order one every day I’m in Chicago and then smuggle 5 more home. So good… and HUGE!

My friends and I went there for cupcakes after having brunch next door. They had good options and a colorful and diverse display. I couldn't help it but keep it simple as I do love red velvet cupcakes. It did not disappoint! My friends tried the fudge and cookies and they also loved their selections. I want to go back for cake next time! Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a sweet treat.

Sweet Mandy B's made our small wedding cake, which was absolutely perfect and delicious (devil's food cake with mocha icing and filling). They are super consistent and orders are straightforward and easy. Thank you!

Directly across from Aloft hotel, this was a pretty reliable place to get coffee and dessert. The banana pudding cake was soft and delicious, and the iced coffees/lattes were all very well made with customizable flavours and stuff. The place’s interior is also very cute.

Rude service staff. I have been going to Sweet Mandy B's for the last 25 years and this was the first time I picked up an order in the Streeterville location. I went in to pick up a cupcake order I was met by a staff member black woman with curly hair in a side pony. When I came in, I told them I was picking up an order and the person directed me to a bunch of bags in the back of the store. When I did not see my name she called out for me at the counter explaining in a snarky tone that that's for catering orders only. She asked for my name and I told her mine as well as the person's name who ordered the baked goods. As she was flipping through the book I saw my name and told her that was my order. She responded rudely, "when you tell me three names, it's going to be hard to find it in the book." Rolled her eyes and then flipped past the page that I told her was mine. She went to the back and found my order and charged me and I said goodbye and she said nothing and walked away. I'm not going to this location anymore.

I LOVE your bakery and goods. I haven't been to this location in a long time. I just wanted to give the owner some advise as it seems they respond to comments. Your very first picture is of your front door with your hours stating you close at 8pm but clicking on your hours, you close at 6pm. You should delete that picture since that is not accurate and it seems that it was posted by the owner. I only say this because again, i love your bakery but i'm glad i clicked on hours because i almost just went by that picture and i would have been mad if i walked all way over after work only to find you are closed. :-( I'm sure many of your potential customers have done just that.

First sip I took, I got straight clumps of bitter matcha. I ordered it with almond milk and vanilla and the drink tasted very artificial. Not worth nearly $10. For feedback, I suggest sifting the matcha powder to eliminate clumps/gritty texture. I’m not sure what brand of milk alternatives + syrups they use, but I recommend using the Califia Farms organic line (good taste + clean ingredients), and maybe making homemade syrups or buy a better tasting brand to avoid tasting so artificial.

I visited the Lost Larson location in Wicker Park for the first time. I tried a variety of items: a cheddar scone, savory croissant, cookie, almond cake, and blueberry muffin. Overall, everything was pretty good. My favorites were definitely the almond cake and the cookie, they stood out the most in terms of flavor and texture.

Lost Larson was a chill bakery to check out. They had great coffee and pastries. I ordered the lavender latte and the salmon, which was fresh, flavorful, and a good portion — definitely worth the price. The presentation was also very nice. Seating is a bit limited, but the space feels clean and calm, which I really appreciate. The staff were attentive and worked quickly, keeping everything running smoothly.

My favorite bakery in the neighborhood! I am impressed that they mill their own flour the traditional method. And their store is super cute.

Lost Larson is our go to every single time we are in Chicago - which is a lot - w/ baby grandson. Their fresh cardamon buns ALWAYS make a trip back to DC ; even after having eaten our fair share of Lost Larson Sweets while we were visiting all week! Their Lingonberry torte is prima- as are the rest of their treats. Pleasant atmosphere to sit w/ coffee as well. Once I spent a few hours comfortably holed up there while a Chicago blizzard stormed outside; can you even imagine a more pleasant place to be stuck? Hot Chocolate & coffee, Almands & the aforementioned Lingonberry tortes- what a sanctuary indeed!🥰

Fantastic upscale bakery on a quiet stretch of division. Coffee is decent and the drink menu is fairly small, but where this place really shines is the fresh baked goods. The selection can get a bit sparse the later in the day that you go, but everything is fresh baked daily and once it's gone, it's gone! There's also a small nook in the back that has some merchandise including berry preserves, very nice chocolate, and canned fish.

Aya Pastry in West Town is a hidden gem for pastry lovers. Their almond croissant is a standout—flaky, buttery, and filled with rich almond paste. On my visit, I also tried the Kouign Amann, which was decadently sweet and caramelized to perfection. I spent about $10 for these two pastries, and they were well worth every penny. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! ​

This is a cute, floral pastry shop in West Town with good, but pretty expensive pastries, cakes, breads, jams, olive oils, and other items. It is takeout only, with no indoor seating. For cakes, consider ordering online rather than in-store for a wider selection. The pastry in-store selection was a little limited too, with less selections than I expected. I got a slice of Banana Bread and a Peanut Butter Chocolate Croissant. While the banana bread was mediocre— a little dry, not too flavorful or special— the croissant was wonderful and delicious. It was so flaky, mildly sweet, and full of rich flavors. I also bought a pint of sourdough starter from them for $6, and it’s currently still active and thriving. After having lunch at Tempesta, we decided to make a dessert stop here. We ordered a cinnamon roll and Cinnamon Banana Bread, both of which were incredibly delicious. Personally, I found the banana bread to be the standout between the two. The service was excellent, and I'll surely be returning here in the future.

Extremely well made croissants. Highly recommend stopping by at the bakery! I have how ordered from this place twice and cannot say enough about not only their safety protocol but also their ability to make the best croissants and breads in town! Try to get there early and choose from a variety of baked goods.

Cute Japanese bakery. Schokopans (bread) and Samoa (dessert) are specifically recommended. If you go before 9am on Sunday, they serve from to-go window in the parking lot. Service is a bit slow :/

I got the Everything Spice Epi, Baguette, Miso Sesame Butter, Samoa Cake, and Tart Cherry Galette. Everything was delicious! Samoa Cake and Cherry Galette were super scaled back in sweetness (which I like, not too sweet). The breads were fantastic and the Epi is the perfect takeaway snack.

Whole sale & retail bakery supplier turned into a neighborhood gourmet bakery and a pastry shop. What a great addition to West Town. Best to show up earlier in the day. I went around 3:00 pm in the afternoon and as you can tell from the pictures everything was pretty much gone. Other than few pastries and cookies with longer shelf life most bread loaves & baguettes 🥖 were sold out. I got few pastries and a savory scallion biscuit which was divine. They have a cake version of the Samoa girl scout cookies, I'm afraid it could get addictive just like the Samoa cookies, can't have just one. Finally, go there to check out the life size Gingerbread house they have made around their entrance which you have to go through to get in the bakery. Totally recommend!!!

Most of the time, there's going to be a line out the door here but don't be intimidated. It moves pretty fast! Banana bread latte with the breakfast sandwich was a great start to my day. The runny egg yolk in the middle of the bun was, albeit quite messy, a pleasant surprise. Pastries were pretty decent with good textures though some items were too sweet. From everything that I got, the standout was poached blueberry + lemon cheesecake danish. The low was definitely the dry and forgettable peanut butter cookie.

I drove from Dayton to Chicago to visit family. I learned that Mindys was within long walking distance from their apartment. It was definitely worth the trek. There was a good gluten free selection for my aunt. She eat the chocolate muffin and couldn't tell it was gluten free. Same for the strawberry danish and gf bagel . My wife likes croissants. She was amazed how beautiful her croissant was. The taste was also great buttery flavor. I rounded out with 2 bialy. A good onion smell and a great taste. 5 of us shared a great breakfast this morning. C.M. recommended this place for me.

always busy but usually worth it. unfortunately their uber-popular breakfast sandwich is definitely worth the easy rise to get it. it was wonderful. they have some interesting pastries - I really liked their s’mores cake (super moist and the marshmallow was unique). their bolognese flaky pastry was good too, but just a little too sweet for me. we also had the little hot fudge scone thing? it had a really fun breakable texture. however, i got the raspberry one a few weeks later, and it was wayyy too sweet. their cold brew was super unique though! no expresso, but the cold brew came with a foam on top that gave the drink overall the perfect amount of acidity

There’s lots of options to choose from (more on the sweeter side). Heads up, this is a grab and go bakery, therefore, there is no indoor seating (only a bar to stand at outside). They will also not heat up the pastries :/ The hot fudge babka $6⭐️4/5 It did not really taste like it had chocolate… it was still delicious, but it tasted more like an apples strudel and banana bread mix—yummy but not chocolate babka lol The smoked ham brown grainy mustard + Gruyère croissant ($7.50) ⭐️2/5 This didn’t hit it for me :/ If you know you love gruyère cheese, then I say give it a go, if you’re unsure, probably try something else? Update: Hot fudge croissant ⭐️3.5/5 A bit on the drier side and I felt that they skimped on the chocolate a bit. But it was a delicious pastry Blackberry cheesecake danish ⭐️3/5 This was yummy and an easy to-go eat. I wish there was a bit more cheese tho Banana bread cold brew ⭐️4/5 Idk how they do it, but this legit tastes like banana bread in a drink. Perfect for the fall season.

I got a hot fudge croissant, a baklava croissant, and a vodka pesto sauce bialy. Pastries were full of flavor! Really enjoyed the bialy. Looking forward to returning and trying their bagels.

So much hype for a solid bakery. Line is 20 min long even 10 minutes before the place opens on the weekend. Get there early. Great selection can’t go wrong. Personally preferred the ham mustard and salami breakfast pastries over the Mindy’s breakfast sandwich. Decadent way to treat yourself for breakfast once in a while

Always amazing and consistent quality here. They are cash only but there is an ATM inside. Our favorites are the strawberry sponge cake and the egg tarts. They also have a variety of frozen buns that are really good to steam or even air fry at home.

It smells like bathroom/sewage in there I don’t know why. When you go in the first door your nose gets assaulted. I had to stand a couple minutes in between doors to see if I should eat from a place that has a dirty smell… That said,my curiosity about the xiopao won and so I bought a pack of 6 from the fridge. The dough is a tad stiff but the inside tastes good. The worst part? I’ll show you in photo… never again.

Sent my brother out to purchase a mixed fruit cake for our mother's birthday. Fruit was terrible and moldy. This is not the first time we buy from this bakery.... very disappointed.

Chiu Quon is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Matthew is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Great bbq buns. Must come back. 10/10.

Finally got to check out the famous Chiu Quon Bakery! Since we already had lunch plans, we tried to keep it minimal. This is what we tried: BBQ Pork Bun, Egg Tart, Egg Custard Melon Pan Bun, and Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf. Everything was sooo good. One thing we wanted, but was sold out, is the shu mai! I gotta come back for that cuz that seems to be a hit here. This spot has no seating, but has this standing bar area against the front window, and it was perfect to eat your bakery goods here. The service was quick and efficient, just how I needed it to be.

Easily the best bakery in Chinatown. So tasty and worth more than its value. Just bring cash with you! I’ve gone too many times and never taken photos, it’s all about enjoying it in the moment.

GREAT variety of rare and not that rare pastries. Kiddo friendly place, close to a park and yoga stuff. The quiche is missing some flavor, the pastries are good looking, outstanding presentation, perhaps that is why the flavor is a bit dissatisfied, imo. Few coffees options, would like to see they adventure to mix drinks and pastries like a pastry late or doughnut coffee shake. Service is good and fast.

A must-visit if you’re in Lincoln Park, their menu is constantly rotating depending on what’s in season. The onion marmalade & sweet potato danish is my favorite, the honey pecan sticky bun is a close second.

A bit overpriced, but reasonably so as you can tell all pastries and bread are high quality. The canales are delectable and the perfect moist, spongey texture. The coffee was fine, but the pastries are definitely the stars. Their fresh baked sourdough is perfectly moist and dense (which I prefer). The seating areas are also perfect with a good amount of outdoor and lots of indoor!

beautiful cafe- lots of seating too! i wish i could give 4.5 stars bc the only thing was that i was not a fan of the coffee (and i am definitely not a coffee snob but something was just off) :/ the pastries and bread are FIRE, and there are lots of options to choose from on that end. i think the prices of the bakery items are fair for the quality but this is not your cheap coffee joint, which is fine! definitely try the ricotta toast or any seasonal items‼️‼️

Super fun atmosphere lots of seating pastries were good but not great We got the strawberry tart, the canele, a chocolate croissant, and the kogi aman (can’t spell it) The strawberries were awesome, and the pastry came good, but the tart crust was super dry and brittle. I get that that’s the style for some of these small fruit tarts, but I never enjoy it very much. The canele was well done. But it just taste almost burnt on the outside and kind of doughy on the inside. The chocolate croissant was nothing special. The kogi aman was great! Would get it again. Super crispy on the outside buttery on the inside. If everything was as good as this one pastry, it would’ve been a five out of five for sure.

Bad coffee and bad hospitality. My friend and I were looking for a new coffee shop to visit. Instead of greeting us kindly and giving us some guidance on the menu, the woman at the front was being super passive aggressive at taking our order seemingly irritable and impatient even though we took like 2 seconds to order. If the coffee was decent, I would obviously say so, but to top it all off, my latte tasted like it had no coffee- just milk. Also it’s super overpriced. I would definitely consider going elsewhere

A cute spot with lots of unique options! Fair prices for the area. The bananas foster pastry was SO GOOD, I’ll be back for another or to try something new. They were out of iced coffee when I went and recommended I go down the street to another coffee shop.

Banana croissant is very well made. The croissant layers are perfect. Savory scone is huge, light and delicious. Chocolate chip cookie is excellent - great mixture of textures.

This place. Wow. Like a well-oiled pastry machine. I have gone there sporadically over the past couple years but really buckled down and started committing to every Sunday these past few weeks. lol. The variety is just astounding and the quality is second to none. I always have the intention of leaving with 2 or 3 things but so far haven't managed to leave with less than 9 or 10 at each visit. Take my money!!!!!!

The flavor profiles of the pastries were all solid but the textures could use more work. A bit more chew on the brioche and better lamination for the puff pastry would have taken it up a notch.

Ordered at 9:20 after arriving at 8:45. Went with the chai spiced cinnamon roll, cloud cookie, and bacon brioche. The cinnamon roll was pretty big and smelled immaculate. There were some hard spots around the edges but the interior was soft. It also had a nice caramelized bottom and the frosting wasn’t overly sweet. Next, the tiramisu cloud cookie which I chose over the lemon one. I didn’t know what to expect but the name makes perfect sense. This was literally the lightest cookie I’ve had. Basically eating tiramisu in cookie form. Finally, while I’m not the biggest bacon fan, I split the brioche and wow. Not much bacon but the bread was so so fluffy and an unexpected hard boiled egg tucked in the hole. I just wish this place was closer cause everything was phenomenal.

I really liked this place. First of all, the staff is calm and friendly despite being very busy. As someone who doesn't like overly sweet pastries, their cookies and cream croissant was quite tasty. I've tried many pastries and have never been disappointed, but my favorite is definitely the banana pudding croissant!! It's amazingg.

Left me speechless ; and full. I ordered from this place on Uber Eats, and nothing could have prepared me for the absolute unit of a cake slice that showed up. Massive is an understatement. The Oreo cake? So freaking delicious I had to pause mid-bite and reassess my dessert priorities. It’s rich, but not too sweet, it’s the perfect balance. I’m an avid Crumbl Cookie girlie, but let me be clear: they will never see me again. 😂 Soft. Moist. Balanced. Iconic. 10/10 would recommend.

This quickly became our go to spot for "special occasion" dessert. Always a great variety of slices available and each flavor we've tried has been excellent. Service is always friendly too. Once, my wife and I wanted a simple gender reveal just for ourselves. I picked two different, possible flavors, gave the worker the slip of paper, and he quickly selected the right slice, and boxed and bagged.

I got to return to a very unique and aesthetically pleasing bakery in Lakeview. I had the Ube latte paired with an Ube cupcake, and it was the perfect sweet treat to satisfy my cravings, I Highly recommend checking out such a delicious and unique café and bakery. They also have gelato!

An elegant spacious bakery in a safe neighborhood. Cakes and cupcakes are beautiful!!! The frostings are delicious. Street parking was a bit challenging. It has bathrooms available for customers. Staff is very friendly.

Stopped by here while walking in the city with a large group. Came around 11:30 and whole place was packed. All the tables taken and people everywhere. We elected to order at the cafe. There were so many pastry options and they all looked delicious. There was no wait so we were able to order fast. I ordered a coffee and it tasted pretty standard. My friends all really enjoyed their drinks and pastries and said they were delicious. Overall, highly recommend you stop by!

I visited Beatrix on a Wednesday evening for happy hour. I ordered happy hour snacks of Hot Honey Brussel Sprouts, Whipped Feta, and Korean Chicken Meatballs with sesame seeds and gochujang sauce. I also ordered dessert with a Cheesecake with passion fruit and a side of vanilla whipped cream. The Hot Honey Brussel Sprouts were a recommendation of my hotel concierge. She recommended ordering a few happy hour appetizers. The entrée burger is also available at a great happy hour price of $12 (October 2025). All the appetizers were well seasoned and really an excellent and delicious value at the happy hour price of $9 each (October 2025). The Cheesecake dessert was another level. The passion fruit topping was a concentrated nectar and it burst in my tastebuds like an intense flavor orga$m. The size was generous at three inches in diameter, more than enough to share with two or three people. Beatrix does not have ice cream, but my side of vanilla whipped cream did well too. I also got drinks of Cold Brew Coffee ($7, October 2025) and Diet Coke (no charge). There is an upcharge of 3.50% on the entire bill. The atmosphere was more sensual lighting than sister Ēma, but the music volume was medium low, with synths, rock, ambient modern music. This is a great place for a happy hour date or after work meet up!

Came in right when they opened and beat the lineup thankfully. No wonder it's popular! The food was delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich with the egg add-on and side of Kennebec fries. Our server was great and the food came out quickly. I loved their billing system where you just scan a QR code from the table and you simply view the bill and pay through your phone.

This restaurant is located in downtown, so parking can be a bit tricky—but if you’re lucky, you can find a spot nearby. I went with a group of friends for breakfast, and even though the place was jam-packed, we had a reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was nice and clean, the service was fast, and the food was absolutely amazing. Prices were very reasonable too. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a great breakfast spot in the area!

Beatrix on Clark Street has a lovely atmosphere — bright, welcoming, and perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The service was friendly and quick, and there’s a nice selection of pastries and breakfast options. The only thing that fell a bit short for me was the coffee — it looked great but the taste could have been stronger and smoother. Still, it’s a cozy spot worth visiting for the vibe and food!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beatrix – Chicago We stopped at Beatrix for breakfast and there was a long wait, which usually means the food is worth it. The vibe was busy but warm, nicely lit, and beautifully decorated. It definitely has that neighborhood energy. We decided to order coffee and baked goods instead of waiting for a table. It took a while to get our order because they forgot about our coffees, but the staff was friendly, attentive, and clearly working hard to manage the crowd. Things happen, and they handled it well. I didn’t love that there were people with dogs inside. The space already felt crowded, and that just wasn’t my vibe, though it seemed to be something the regulars enjoy. Now for the highlights: the iced caramel macchiato was one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband ordered a variety of baked goods, and the ones I tried were fresh and not overly sweet. The lemon blueberry cake donut was absolutely delicious! Overall, great energy, great flavors, and a spot I’d give another try when it’s less busy.

Arrived with a party of five and were sat immediately. Host was super friendly and quick. The vibe and atmosphere is very posh. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Good was amazing. We all got different plates. Mine was a chicken sandwich with fries. Fries were a little salty but everything else was perfect. Ordered a latte as well, made to perfection! Great coffee!

I found this cute little place and the pastries were absolutely delicious will absolutely be back to try others and some of the breads. But I had the most disappointing iced vanilla latte ever. There was like 80% foam and barely any drink. If I order a latte I want the whole thing to fill the cup not an espresso worth of drinkable beverage. The food will absolutely have me back but I will not be getting coffee next time.

Can’t remember the last time I’ve had a croissant this good— perhaps Paris? So flaky and light, like biting into a cloud. The pistachio chocolate flavor has me a bit puzzled— it was beautifully made and well balanced, but did I like it? I’m still not sure. One of those flavors that has you questioning with every bite. That said it truly tastes of pistachios, reminiscent of the filling texture and composition of an excellent almond croissant, but pistachio. The chocolate surprised me a bit as it seemed almost syrupy in texture— not bad, just not what I’m used to in a croissant. (The picture is after I’ve bitten into it so you can see the green of the filling) If this review hasn’t convinced you to give Hendrickx a try, not sure what’s stopping you! You won’t regret it!

This place is incredible! We have been coming here for years. The best gluten-free bread I’ve ever had and their macaroons are better than some of the finest bakeries in Paris. It is a hole in the wall, but does a study business. True Belgian/French cuisine. Delicious lentil salad, almond croissants. Some of the croissant sell out by 11. I just happened to stop by here, and the staff were really friendly. You can tell they’re proud of their bakery! The coffee is really smooth and tastes great. There are about 3–5 tables behind the counter, so no need to worry about finding a seat😉

I stumbled across Hendrickx nearly 15 years ago when I moved to Chicago. I have a knack for searching out the best croissants and bagels in any place I go and they delivered. I found myself back in Chicago recently again and could not pass on the opportunity to indulge in some plain and almond croissants and it was instant nostalgia. Same great taste, same wonderful staff, I see word catched on over the years cause there was a line at open, but after that first bite the wait was worth it. The next time I return to Chicago I’ll definitely swing by for another.

The pastries are also super delicious and every item is fresh the flavors are rich. I've been coming to Bang Bang Pies for about 12 years! It's one of my favorite places to talk about and visit when I come through Chicago. It has evolved over time, but thankfully has maintained its delicious staples: homemade biscuits, butter, jam, and cheese grits. It’s a great stop, especially for bringing out-of-town visitors. The menu is simple, the prices are reasonable, and there's always friendly service. There’s seating inside and a nice courtyard with seating outside. And their pies are the best I've had in the city. Order early for those!

Fun cozy spot with some tasty bites! The sausage biscuit was amazing, the biscuit really stole the show though. The cup of grits came as a bowl of grits and were alright. The key lime pie was perfect - not too sweet, not too tart. The service was so kind and inviting. The inside seating section is decent but they also have a great big outdoor section with picnic tables and a fence to make it feel more secluded. Love this spot!

Absolutely hands down best pie I’ve ever had. We ordered a very specific pie that is only in season once a year for a few weeks and Shannon and her whole team went out of their way to get this pie done for me. It had a very sentimental meaning to it and the team really went so far above and beyond to make sure they were able to get this pie done. I will forever be coming back to get any future pie with them. It was absolutely delicious beyond expectations.

Amazing homemade pies. Flavors change often. Key Lime was so tart and delicious. The Honey pie was sweet and fresh fruit on top while the S’Mores pie was chocolate heaven.

This place is a gem. We really enjoyed our Baklava Cheesecake pie and savory pickled beet arugula salad on this frigid morning. The staff was super friendly, and overall, a lovely vibe. The inside is quite small so I’m excited to come back when it is warm outside to take advantage of their patio. I was appreciative of the changing table in the bathroom as well.

You need to go out of your way to come here! I had an amazing savory biscuit with scrambled eggs. The biscuit was thick, buttery, and flaky. The key lime pie was great, but not perfect. I will be back when it’s warmer to try other pie flavors and enjoy their back patio.

I got there late in the day, around 6pm, but they still had some good options. The chocolate chip cookie was rich and chocolatey and buttery but thankfully not overly sweet. The giant chocolate stud muffin was super sweet, as cupcakes tend to be. It had a rich ganache filling under all of that buttercream. It was cold out of the case and would have been so much better room temperature, but I don't have anywhere near the patience for that - would be ideal if sold that way, but I imagine keeping them cool prolongs shelf life. Service was excellent, as was the ambiance. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Our wedding cake from Vanille was absolutely beautiful and beyond delicious! We received so many compliments from our guests, and the raspberry layer was definitely a crowd favorite. From start to finish, the team was communicative, extremely kind, and so easy to work with. They brought our vision to life perfectly, and the cake looked just as stunning as it tasted and was also priced extremely fair in the world of wedding vendors. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are so grateful to Vanille for being part of our special day. Highly recommend them to any couple looking for a cake that will truly wow your guests!

For me it was basic . Coffee, lemon tart and almond croissant were okay,nothing special. I didn’t feel any coziness inside while sitting. For me personally it was strange for having passcode in restroom for customers. I can understand , it’s not a restroom for public use, but felt odd that I should ask for code . They could add the passcode at the end of receipt, my suggestion. But anyway, it was okay ,nothing more.

I found this candy store yesterday since I was looking for an emergency candy and here I found it the candy store very clean the decent clerks the sweets very delicious I loved it I had an excellent experience I found a birthday cake and I was able to celebrate I also bought the cake candles in this pastry shop when you get home and split the cake was very delicious 🤤 I loved it

Vanile Patisserie is the French craft pastry shop and cafe. Very important - it is not French-like, but a genuine sweet masterpieces prepared by maitre patissier (master pastry chef). I have been their devoted customer for five years and never got disappointed. I cannot boast being an expert who finds "cherry with the notes of oak" taste or who is a true truffle sniffer to distinguish a scent of ohelo'ai berry. However, there is a balance of sweetness and flavor in every product. Visual appeal and taste make id devine. Of course, affording Paris is not easy. But affording this cafe is within a reach to get the feeling.

So delicious, everything is fresh and so tasteful. The service is great and we spent a great little break here.

DO NOT order a cake from here. My order had a mix up with two different people communicating with me about my cake and giving me two different prices. I paid in full days before my pick up date since I was in the area. I Showed the man at the counter the order number and the price I was given on the email. I took my receipt and was reminded of my pick up date and time. On the day of pick up my brothers picked up the cake but the person helping them said that $400 was left to pay. Mind you I came days before showed the man my order number and the price that was given on the EMAIL and paid in FULL. I told my brothers just leave the cake we aren’t paying $400 more. my brothers ended up paying for the cake since they didn’t want my son to have a grocery store cake for his 1st birthday. Now taste: This was my first time trying the bakery and I was expecting it to be delicious! It was not and my guest also didn’t care for the cake. I ordered fresh strawberries and the cake had a layer of strawberry jam. The cake was overly sweet as well.

Not only was it beautifully executed with flawless design that matched my vision perfectly, but it also tasted absolutely incredible! The entire process was seamless from start to finish, the tasting was great, customer service was friendly, and the delivery was right on time. Alliance Bakery truly delivered both in flavor and presentation. Highly recommend for any couple looking for a cake that’s as stunning as it is delicious! 5 stars all around!

We selected Alliance Bakery for our wedding cake after sampling a few options around Chicago. They did a phenomenal job with the design of our cake - I wanted vintage piping and it was beautiful. The cake itself was delicious, we got two cake flavor/frosting combinations for both the cutting cake and sheet cakes for serving and many of our guests commented on how good it was!

Alliance Bakery is the best! We got our wedding, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower cakes from them, and we received so many compliments on the taste! They also looked so great. The planning process was smooth as well, and I think their prices were pretty affordable compared to other bakeries in Chicago. We're looking forward to our next occasion to order dessert from them!

This bakery has been here for over 100 years. They are definitely doing something right. Great pastries, cookies and cakes. After 7pm the store is half off. Their cakes are decorated so cute! On the pricey end but worth it. Fresh and tasty. Also the store has a very relaxing let's eat cookies and walk around town vibe.

Cakes are very good but too creamy and not much of the cake itself which makes it feel imbalanced when trying to enjoy the creamy part with a bid of the solid cake taste! It can be very crowded so be aware if that. If you are looking for A quiet place to relax the Chinatown branch is definitely not the one you’re looking for 😉

Delicious desserts and super fresh! My friend and I tried a little bit of everything: strawberries & cream croissant, apple strudel, rose macaron, chocolate cake, and berry cake. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted great! The cakes were light, moist, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The rose macaron was a bit sweeter than I prefer. Definitely coming back next time I’m craving something sweet!

Was profiled and talked to like a dog today for asking to use the restroom before I purchased and ate after 1.5 hr of travel. I frequented this place unaware that they were even capable of allowing or condoning such behavior. Since it was early and not bustling the restroom was locked. I was spoken to curtly and waived off with a yea right and go away. When I stated that I place and get large orders there all the time including for gatherings I was further accused of just finding a picture online until I showed them it was my text msg thread. I was followed in a threatening manner by a male employee pictured below who threatened to take my phone after I took pictures to document the incident. From the moment I approached the counter I was told idc buy something or go away idc yea right you bought something youre not a customer and it just got worse with them playing aggressor and victim. Until they saw my picture and msg thread. I feel horrible for supporting and promoting these disgusting people for so long. I come here regularly often a few times a month for large orders for everyone. Sadly will be looking for a new bakery that treats people of all kind better.

We had the blueberry and mango cloud cakes. The mango cake light on flavor but the blueberry cake had just the right amount and was delicious. This location had comfortable seating and was not crowded during our visit.

This place is my absolute go-to for desserts! They serve one of the best tiramisus I’ve ever had — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I’m also a huge fan of their chocolate cream donuts, though they’ve been sold out the last few times I visited (hopefully they restock them more often!). Their milk cream cake is another standout — light, moist, and full of flavor. Whether it’s a casual dessert craving or a special occasion, this spot never disappoints. It’s also become my default choice for birthday cakes for friends — always a hit!

What a treat to find this delicious, dedicated gluten free bakery!! They had such a wide selection of items (mostly sweet, but savory too) that it was hard to decide what to get. We absolutely loved the blueberry cheesecake bar and the oatmeal cream pie. We should have bought more! They also had lots of dairy free and vegan options. And the prices were much lower than I expected for a small, dedicated gluten free bakery. I wish I lived close by!

Defloured is an incredible bakery of the Andersonville neighborhood. I ordered two custom cakes from Defloured for my wedding. Not necessarily because anyone attending the wedding was gluten sensitive, but moreso just to support a local business that I had heard good things about. The online tool was pretty easy to use and I loved the customization options. The staff worked with me to answer any questions I had and to make some additions to the order. I was thrilled with the cakes we got. They were beautiful exactly what I imagined. The guests raved about how good they tasted. They made a wonderful day even more perfect! Oh my, I wanted one of everything. It's rare for us to find gluten free bakeries and this one is phenomenal. The flavors are incredible and whatever magic they put in their baked items is incredible. I cannot recommend this enough and will be back. They have allergy friendly options and the staff is more than willing to assist. This place needs to be protected at all cost.

We were staying at the loop downtown in September 2025 and went 45 minutes out of our way to come here. So glad we did! I got a puck of love and a slutty brookie. The puck of love was the best gluten free pastry I have had outside of Europe. Wish I could have ordered more food. Next time I am in Chicago, I will definitely be back.

We catered Defloured for our wedding reception. No one that I knew had tried this bakery, so we went purely off of the amazing reviews. We had 2 strictly gluten-free guests in attendance, so we decided to get all baked goods from here to be safe. Everyone said that the desserts were delicious and most did not even know everything was gluten free. We also had vegan GF raspberry chocolate cupcakes that people were raving about. If you're worried about the desserts tasting "off", you do not need to. The flavors and textures were phenomenal, and they have such a great selection of small treats. Highly recommend!

So grateful for Defloured! Staff are always so kind. There are SO MANY goods to choose from. Deeply appreciated. The local coffee shops stock items from them, which is fabulous. Their gluten free challah is lovely. Proves that good gluten free bread can indeed exist.

Love this place for a casual hangout or to study! The croissants are some of the best I've had in my life including those in France. My favorites are the chocolates and the ham and cheese. The kougn amann is also AMAZING! MUST TRY! I like their espresso shots as well :) definite must-try in Chicago.

This was a lovely find in Chicago. Their green tea was great and my sister loved her coffee. The staff is super friendly and has great recommendations. The ambiance is perfect and if I lived in the area I’d find it the perfect spot for working remotely. It’s a super cozy space and the friendliness of the baristas reinforce that. Their pastries were also wonderful. I got the ham and cheese croissant and it was perfect.

The chocolate croissant here is to die for!! My main hesitation with chocolate croissants is that you get either a bite full of chocolate or a bite of only bread. However, here it’s like they weave chocolate into their croissant, and I felt like every bite I got a bit of chocolate! The atmosphere is spacious and gorgeous as well!!

A relative newcomer to the Chicago bakery scene Good Ambler makes good use of its expansive Fulton Market footprint with an in-house Bakery and Chocolatier plus lots of comfy seating. A 16 on Center concept, owners of everything from Salt Shed and Beauty Bar to Longman & Eagle, guests arriving during morning hours can expect a brief wait for Quiche, Wraps or Salads or an array of Viennoiserie. Priced akin to other like-concepts, roughly $4-6 per Pastry and Coffee $3.25 up for standard Drip, Good Ambler’s Kouign Amann is sticky with a good exterior crackle yielding buttery layers while the Almond Croissant is soggy and marred by excessive Frangipane. More impressed by the Financier, a moist crumb supporting Cherry Jam, the Ham & Cheese Croissant proved better than its sibling but instead of being over-filled offered the opposite with a good amount of hardened Cheese visibly leaking from the edges.

Very cute cafe/bakery I enjoyed the raspberry white chocolate croissant muffin, the chocolate croissant and my vanilla latte. When I came to check it out around 11am on a Friday it was packed, so finding seating was a bit hard. But otherwise had a pleasant experience dining here! There's also free 90 minute wifi.

My first time here, I loved the decor.. the folks behind the counter were ALL so friendly, the ppl in line were also friendly. It’s hard to be cranky when you know you’re in for some yummy pastries. I bought 4 things and my friends also over indulged. The grapefruit cruffin, the Kougin Amann, the dbl chocolate croissant, the rhubarb and vanilla custard croissant, can’t pick a favorite they were all wonderful. Thank you, keep up the excellent work!

Baristas were very friendly and nice, coffee was good, quiche was good (kinda small). Why the low rating? I came here at just past 12 pm, there was a long line right where I entered, I lined up naturally. Some woman and her coworker cut right in front of me, she told me I can go line up at the cafe directly. I was confused, asked her what is this long line for, she said “are you blablabla employee?” I said no, she was like then this is not your line or something, with a very rude face. I’m not from the area, just want to find a cafe to have breakfast and work a little bit. And this is the first thing I encounter coming to this cafe. Later I sat down, ordered some food. Then a server came to me, nicely but let me know the area is reserved and I can’t sit that area. I was confused by that sign where it was signifying. Apparently more than half of the cafe was reserved during lunch time I guess. I moved my stuff to another area trying to eat my lunch and enjoy my coffee, too bad the table was too low and not for eating. So I just left, went back to my hotel and ate at the hotel cafe. I wish I can like Good Ambler more, staff were nice, but this experience was really terrible and not friendly for people who are not from the area, or your building. I held my urge to confront that mean woman (customer) so it doesn’t ruin my day. If she ever reads this, you’re really not a nice person :)

Wow the sausage egg and cheese English muffin is amazing: homemade sausage and the Platonic ideal of an English muffin. Just make sure to save room for the hazelnut plum croissant - it’s like a PB&J made by God himself.

WE LOVE LOAF LOUNGE! We have been visiting the loaf lounge for a few years as our neighborhood spot for breakfast, lunch, and desserts and often bring out of town guests here too! So when we were getting married, we knew we wanted them to be a part of our special day! We are grateful to Loaf Lounge for doing our wedding cake “The Bear” cake specifically and we did a Pittsburgh cookie table that was a hit at the wedding as Loaf Lounge has the best cookies! Sausage egg and cheese, with the hash brown and hot sauce, gas. 9/10, I’d rank it just below Allez as my fav Chicago b sammy. On its own very good but not my fav, definitely needed the extras. I wish I had some jam for it that really would have added some extra flair but overall I’d return. Also had a pastry, the plum jam morning bun, it was good but it was just ok nothing to rave about. Matcha was good but could’ve been whisked a bit longer as it was still a little grainy.

The sausage, egg, and cheese was delicious. What made the sandwich stood out was the homemade English muffin and garlic maple sausage, both with incredible textures and flavors. The runny egg was an unexpected tasty bonus. It could've been perfect with a touch more herby mayo and a little less grease in the toasted muffins.

I have eaten here on two occasions when coming home to Chicago, once inside and once outside. Both experiences were great. Connor, the sous chef, made suggestions for vegetarian options and to modify dishes for my tastes. The menu has many interesting and flavorful taste combinations. There are amazing bakery options including rotating loaves of bread. Currently there is a vegan blueberry scone on the menu. The beverage offerings include extensive coffee and tea options, cocktails, beer, wine, soda and kombucha. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Loaf Lounge for a great food and beverage experience in a casual setting. I can’t wait to go back the next time I am in town.

Went here with some friends. It’s smaller, first come first serve seating so don’t show up with a group after about 9:30 and expect to find a table. The sandwich was good, the hash brown party was ok. The hash brown is the same type as McDonald’s, maybe a little better. The thing that grinds my gears is they charge a 4% fee to “support a higher hourly wage”. Come on, be honest and just raise your prices by 4% instead of lying to your customers about the price. I whole heartedly support paying people a living wage, but lack of transparency in menu pricing is a dishonest practice that has become a scourge throughout Chicago.

The 3 Arts Club Café at RH Chicago is truly stunning. The interior is the perfect blend of motif and elegance, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a magazine spread. We came here for dinner to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and while the food was good, it is definitely on the pricey side. That said, you’re really paying for the atmosphere and the overall experience, which is worth it for a special occasion. Our waiter, Josiah, was attentive and warm, and made the evening feel extra special. It’s not somewhere I’d come every week, but for a beautiful, memorable night out, it’s a great choice.

This is the most romantic, beautiful restaurant I have ever dined at, and I give it my highest recommendation. Not even Le Jules Verne on the Eiffel Tower in Paris was so exquisite - and the Jules Vernes was divine, with an unparalleled view of Paris, of course. We chose 3 Arts Club Café for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner, just my husband and me. I was not enthused about the first two tables we were offered, which was distressing as I hate to make a fuss... but given that it was the very day of our 30th, I was glad that my husband spoke up. The hostess was most accommodating and we were offered a snug table in the bar area, on gorgeous velvet cushions with crystal chandeliers overhead. What a perfect dinner. Our server [Michael I think?] was a pro and was kind to ask us for our relationship 'wisdom' on how to stay together for such a long time. He also was kind in listening to my husband's banter. The complimentary champagne for our anniversary was a gracious gesture. It was just such a lovely experience, I cannot say enough good about it and cannot recommend it highly enough.

My friends and I came in here to have brunch. The staff was very kind and welcoming also service was very quick. As for food, we ordered the chinese chicken salad and some of the sandwiches, lattes and deserts. I’d say the food isn’t anything spectacular and a bit overpriced but I guess it’s justified for the beautiful atmosphere, which we all absolutely loved. I will say that the deserts were fantastic and so were the lattes so I’d definitely come in again!

This is a very iconic place - it is stunning and beautiful. We had a lovely experience. I consider having a meal is a real treat. The 3 Arts Club Cafe has a wonderful ambiance and aesthetic. The atmosphere is emazing, elegant and cozy, with beautiful decor. They have one of the best service ever - their staff are very friendly, kind and attentive, and always there to make sure you have a great experience. We arrived without a reservation and received a very warm welcome. We waited for 30 minutes, but we enjoyed touring the other amazing 4 floors. The meals here are so special - taste really delicious. We ordered truffle fries, shrimp starter, lobster roll, and ribeye steak - all cooked perfectly. I f you visit Chicago, this place is a must to visit.

The space is absolutely stunning, with a bright and elegant courtyard that feels both cozy and upscale. The food is fresh and flavorful, with a menu that works well for brunch or lunch. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy a coffee, and just soak in the atmosphere. The overall vibe makes the experience feel a little more special than your usual café.

I always enjoy coming here! I had friends visit from Indiana and they absolutely loved it. The atmosphere, service, and food were exceptional. I had the roasted chicken club and the Black Forest bacon on it was really good. The chicken in the club was also very moist and it was cooked really well. I’ll continue to bring my friends and family here, see ya’ll next time!

I went to this restaurant on Saturday, October 25th. I loved the interior design it was beautiful. I went with two friends, and we ordered the lobster roll and beef sandwich. The taste was just okay. For the price of $36–38, I’ve had better plating and presentation elsewhere. However, after the meal, my friends and I got really bad food poisoning. We hadn’t eaten anywhere else that day besides this restaurant, It was a terrible experience. The service was mediocre .the staff refilled our water only once and then just brought the check. Definitely not coming back.

Went on a Saturday morning. Place was packed and there was nowhere to sit. Staff trying to herd people through. Stated to set an understanding of the vibe. If you don't like pressure or a little stress ordering, go somewhere with table service. We had Paczkis and Croissants. The apricot and jalapeno+everything were stunningly good both as concepts and as end results. Well worth the experience of trying to find a warm place to eat them.

A little over hyped. And it proved them right. The Monaco croissant sandwich was good. But the Cannoli, ooh full of sugar sans taste. Disappointed.

Prepare for slightly pricy but very delicious classic baked goods. They have no indoor seating but some chairs and tables outside. This isn’t the place to try unique flavors but they have absolutely perfected classics.

We drove 2 1/2 hours today one way to pick up my birthday cake. Our local swedish bakery closed years ago and every once in a while I need this cake. My great grandmother made little marzipan painted like fruits and vegetables and this cake reminds me of her. I just had a piece. It was beautifully decorated and packaged well. The cake was very moist and fillings tasty. I enjoyed every single bite and it melted in my mouth. Honestly the very best princess cake I've ever had and worth the 5 hours total we spent on the road. Thank you so much for making this year's birthday so very delicious.

Bought an almond croissant and the flavor was yum. Service was awesome too..employees were very helpful with answering questions about items in display. Prices were reasonable for all items.

Mold/fungus was growing in the peach strudel. Which was supposed to be fresh in Season. Found it out after taking a bite outside the store. Went inside, and they shamelessly asked a proof when it was bought. No remorse on the face. And asked if I want replacement or refund. When asked for refund, refused to return tip ($3). Manager had to ask owner and took 10 min just to refund the tip. No sincere apologies or remorse on face for the customer who just ate mold, instead worrying about tip. What was the tip even for? No price displayed, the worker quoted $11 for strudel when it was $18. No point in supporting/buying from local business. The strudel even tasted old, with the greasy margarine lingering in throat for a long time. Why should we buy from local business with inflated price, serving old and mass produced items. Lovely staff / great service. The place is quiet and clean with big windows for natural light. The food is high quality but maybe too inventive for my tastes? The ham and gruyere quiche was excellent! Very, very cheesy - I'd recommend getting something else carby to eat along with it. I know a light flaky crust is generally highly desirable (and it certainly was light and flaky) but in this case, I'd actually have liked a thicker crust to offset some of that cheese. Unfortunately, the almond croissant looked better than it tasted. I also had a chocolate brownie because I was looking for a chocolate boost but it fell flat as well - seemed to have some odd undertones? And I would have loved to enjoy the rich sipping chocolate with the croissant (I suspect it would have made the croissant much more of what I wanted) except the hot chocolate has citrus and spices which I wasn't looking for. If you like complex flavors and are looking for other flavors but not necessarily a chocolate fix, it's a great place.

We wanted a local Chicago bakery, and Bittersweet was everything we hoped for. Samuel made the entire process—from tasting to delivery—so easy and personal. We even chose his favorite flavors, which ended up being ours too! The cake was gorgeous, delicious, and will forever remind us of our special day. We can’t wait to return for more sweet treats.

It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet morning or catch up with friends over something sweet. Definitely one of my favorite cafes in the city!

We did wedding cake tastings with multiple bakeries, but Bittersweet’s quality blew the competition out of the water. All of the cakes, frostings, and fillings we tried were delicious, and the ones we chose for our cake came together perfectly! The cake was decorated beautifully and tasted amazing. If you want a custom cake that’s a step above the rest, look no further than Bittersweet.

If possible, I would give it zero stars. I used to come here often to buy almond croissants and coffee. These two days are my friend's birthday. I plan to order a cake to attend her birthday. I first bought a piece to taste it, and then I plan to customize a 6-inch cake. I was so surprised that this cake is actually hard, as hard as a piece of bread that has been kept for a week. I can't even stick my fork in 😅Aren't your dessert cakes made on the same day? Learn from other bakeries. Sell the $20 surprise packages that don't sell out on the same day to others or give them to those who are hungry and in need of help, instead of freezing them in the fridge and selling them to customers. Can you imagine a birthday cake where the cake is as hard as bread and the cream is as hard as butter? I'm really speechless and so disappointed🥲

I placed an order for delivery — and oh boy, did you deliver! My very poorly planned surprise almost didn’t make it to the recipient, but your efforts went above and beyond my expectations. It wasn’t your fault she wasn’t home, yet you made sure the package was safely left at her door. In the end, my friend received the package — and your out-of-this-world baked goods! Because of your goodies, her worries melted away for a while. Thank you for turning my last-minute surprise into something truly special.

When I moved here almost twenty years ago, this was one of the best bakeries in the city. My girlfriends and I would stop in here for a treat or to have lunch at the cafe. Over the years, things have changed but I felt the quality remain the same. That is until I visited today. I am absolutely shocked at how average the baked goods are now. The croissants all tasted stale and lacked the rich, buttery flavor a croissant should have. Also, a plain croissant cost over $6. I understand that quality baked goods can be very expensive but paying over $6 for a mediocre, stale tasting croissant is outrageous. It really makes me question if there's a pastry chef at all. If you go into the cafe expecting that you will have an average and expensive treat in a cute and sunny space, you will be happy. If you expect a high quality baked good at a reasonable price or anything like the old Bittersweet, you will be sorely disappointed.

So I walked in, and they were out of what I wanted. A gentleman helped me. He was excellent and very courteous. He made me a Cannoli Eclair donut. I was told it's the first of its kind. Maybe it should be an item on the menu from now on. I highly recommend this place, and I definitely will be visiting it more often!

Welcoming customer service. Long running Italian bakery. First timer stopped in and asked a frequent customer in line for recommendations. Grilled chicken giardiniera sandwich and Meatball sandwich. The bread was soft & fresh. The chicken had no flavor and dry, needed more dressing. Meatball sandwich was tough and dry. however the marinara sauce was rich and tasty. Though deserts weren’t recommended, I got a cannoli, and It was hard and tasted frozen like the customer mentioned.

Much like the now closed Dinkel’s and still trucking along Roeser’s, this place is a Chicago institution. A longtime customer got me a free chocolate chip cookie and stated this is Chicago’s best kept secret, and he was right on point!!! But all the baked goods looked amazing!! I took home some of their famous cannolis, chocolate eclairs and a fudge brownie!! All exceptional!! This is a must visit. I saw they had sandwiches as well, but I was on my way to lunch at Petit Pomeroy (ill have a write up about this place too), so did not want to spoil my lunch. Another time for sandwiches, but these baked goods are a must try!

Just had a lovely paper-wrapped box of Ferrara chocolate covered almonds & remembered how much i love this place, so felt compelled to come review. We’ve eaten here a ton (great sandwiches) but a standout was ordering our thanksgiving sides from Ferrara. We got the fill-your-own cannoli with pumpkin icing. Delicious AND a fun activity! Will be doing this same menu again this year :P

This is truly a staple in Chicago! An OG of Italian pastries! You must try their cakes , canolies and apple slices. I've never had their food but every time I go at lunch it's packed so it must be good !

We had an incredible experience catering our block party from Ferrara Bakery. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone, both adults and kids, was raving about it. The pricing was incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity we received. I highly recommend them for any event!

I’m 76 YO and back in the day my grandma lived on Aberdeen. We always went here for birthday cakes and of course cannolis! I love this place and so does my family!

I absolutely loved the store’s design and ambience—it was such a cozy and inviting spot. The cookies were huge, perfectly chewy with a crisp edge, and the chocolate inside was wonderfully gooey. We tried the Two Chip, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip Caramel Coconut, and the Banana Chocolate Chip Bread. Each flavor was delicious, but my personal favorite was the Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip cookie. If you’re ever in Chicago, this spot is a must-visit!!!

Wow incredible customer service from Jenna... 🥹🫶🏼 After dinner last night, we wandered into Levain Bakery for dessert, and the display case immediately pulled us in. Giant, rustic cookies stacked high, golden breads dusted with flour, sticky buns glistening with caramelized sugar — it all looked irresistible. We went for the Rocky Road cookie a la mode, and it was unreal: warm, gooey, chocolatey, packed with marshmallow and nuts, and taken to the next level with a scoop of ice cream. But what really made the experience special was the service. Jenna, one of the cashiers, noticed I had just taken a bad fall outside. She didn’t just ring us up... she stopped, offered help and first aid, asked about what happened, and genuinely cared. That kind of attentiveness is rare and meant a lot. She even went above and beyond and toasted the cookie in the oven before serving it, so it came out extra warm and melty. Between the decadent cookies and Jenna’s kindness, this wasn’t just dessert... it turned into one of those memorable moments you don’t forget.

I visited here for the first time and really enjoyed the butter and jam baguette with a cup of mocha. The only downside was that it was too hot to sit outside , it would have been nice to have indoor seating available. Overall, I loved this cute bakery!

It’s cozy and inviting, with just the right amount of bustling charm that makes you feel like something good is about to happen. And for us, it absolutely did. We started our morning with a Walnut Sticky Bun but only available on weekends and a cup of hot chocolate. It was a perfect combination, and honestly, one of those breakfasts that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. The sticky bun was a masterpiece. Golden and glossy with a caramelized swirl, it had that irresistible pull-apart softness on the inside, while the outside offered a slight crunch from the perfectly baked edges. The sticky glaze was rich and buttery, with just the right amount of gooey sweetness, not too sugary, but enough to satisfy every sweet tooth craving. What really took it to the next level were the walnuts. Toasted, slightly earthy, and wonderfully crunchy, they added depth and balance to the soft, sweet bun. The contrast in textures was divine, every bite a symphony of chew, crunch, and melt. The hot chocolate was no afterthought, either. Deep and dark, with a strong cocoa richness, it had a luxurious, velvety body that hugged your hands through the cup and warmed you from the inside out. I love a good cookie. These do not disappoint. Large enough to share or keep for a multi day treat. Perfect combination of soft, gooey, and crispy. It is sweet but it's a cookie! Did not remind of any of those "new" delivery ginormous horrible sweet kinds!

This has and always will be one of my favorite bakeries, but Kaylee took the service to the next level. She was not only warm and welcoming, but knowledgeable about the new products. She made suggestions and made this a better experience than expected.

I love love love the cookies and other bakery items. My top favorites are the coconut caramel and the chocolate chip walnut but... THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD! I had the blueberry muffin and OMG. Yummy. The lemon pound cake... get it, for real. Lol If you like thick soft cookies, this is it. I've tried several other cookie companies and none compare.

I ordered a Raf coffee - something I’ve never seen anywhere else in the U.S., and they have it here! It was incredibly delicious! I also tried the moon cake - so tasty! Ordered a breakfast sandwich. Bread was soft and pillowy, felt like it was just baked. Everything was hot and fresh. My only gripe is that this sandwich is a bit basic and could use 1 or 2 extra ingredients for more flavor (meat, aioli, jam?) This thing has the potential to be one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city.

Food and desserts are yummy, good selection of teas. Got honey cake and pistachio raspberry cake, both were delicious and burrata toast was highlight of the day lol. But honestly I really enjoyed that toast. Tea got cold (and a bit sour) fairly quick though, would be nice if there was an option to have it reheated or refilled. I don’t think there’s designated parking available, but there’s street parking and the bus stop is almost right in front. Accessible washroom and wi fi, AC was working👍🏼

I'm so glad I found Bake! We ordered the confetti cake for my son's birthday party and the entire party raved about how delicious it was. We'll be ordering from Bake going forward! Also love all the sweet decor and gift options.

The employees were super friendly when I picked up my cake, but even after sending photos and Bake confirming that they'd place my daughter's name toward the bottom of the cake, there it was, in the middle of the cake. And a little sloppy. Also, the chocolate cake was pretty dry, so perhaps I just got the wrong cake. I did appreciate that the flavor was balanced and not too sweet. Probably a fluke, but have to leave an honest review- just had an OK experience for an 8" cake at $50.

Ordered a Nutella malt cake for my wife’s birthday and it was fantastic! Perfectly balanced flavor with just enough sweetness. The nutty, toasty notes of the malt were a great, subtle touch. So many bakeries we’ve ordered from in the past make their cakes way too sweet for our taste. Bake set itself apart from the rest for us and really nailed it! Also, ordering online is quite convenient. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a nice bakery and cafe! I came here in the afternoon and tried the cookies which were nice and tasted homemade. The chocolate chip cookie seemed a bit too thin and was too salty with some bites. They have greeting cards and books for sale here too. I would come back to try out other desserts here.

Such a beautiful little bakery right here in Wicker Park! I loved how bright and colorful the interior was. They had a pretty good selection of cookies and pastries out, but unfortunately for me, they were almost all out of cupcakes (which means they must have been good!) I got a couple of cookies instead, and they were a lot bigger than I initially thought. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Nutella Cookies were amazing. Very very shareable! Can't wait to go back and hopefully try one of the cupcakes!

Delicious fresh pastries and coffee in a very charming cafe! The outdoor garden patio is very cozy with lots of shade too. The cafe has a nice gift selection with foodie books, ceramic mugs, candles, cards, and gifts. Such a dreamy spot!

First impressions are always important and Justice of the Pies exceeded. The inside is so cute and clean! Very modern and chic. The lemon lavender cookie was so delicious! It was moist, warm and soft and absolutely perfect. I washed it down with the amethyst tea which was chefs kiss. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

Best pie in Chicago hands down! We tried the caramel apple crumble pie, key lime pie. apple banana bread and peanut butter cookie. It was all the perfect level of sweetness! Will be returning to try their savory pies.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and full description and explanation of the menu. I tried the shokupan cinnamon roll, salted caramel peach pie and banana pudding. My favorite was the peach pie; the caramel paired with the peach was so delicious and I loved the texture of the pie and crust! I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the banana pudding; I prefer a more mousse-like texture with a more vanilla-forward flavor and this one was more pudding-like. The flavor of the cinnamon roll was AMAZING but I wish it was a bit softer and warmer. However, I did go later in the morning and got one of the last rolls so this could have been because I didn’t get there early enough. Definitely a place that everyone should visit!

Furious!!! I ordered a burger with no cheese and no mayo! When the order was ready the guy handed it to me and said “burger and no cheese and mayo”. I had no doubt it was exactly how I ordered it. I went straight to the gate. When I started eating it, the burger had BOTH CHEESE AND MAYO!! Guys, what’s up??? Why do you not care at all?? I am extremely mad!!! You left me hungry and charged me for that!

Very disappointing experience. Chicken wrap tasted soggy and old, like it had been sitting there for hours. Latte tasted more like drip coffee than a proper latte. Staff looked unhappy and unmotivated, which made the atmosphere feel cold and unwelcoming. Paid 22.74 USD for those items in total. Unfortunately, this is the only coffee shop in the already terrible Terminal 5. Would not come back.

I recently visited this restaurant and was shocked by the quality of the food. The dish I ordered was clearly spoiled—an unpleasant smell and taste made it inedible. It's unacceptable to serve food that is past its prime, especially when customers are paying good money. This experience has made me lose trust in the kitchen's standards, and I won't be returning. I hope the management takes this issue seriously before it causes more harm.

Agree airport vendors are a rip off but this place took it to another level! $5 for a 20oz water? And they will not give regular tap water, of course how will they make money. Yes we could go to the bathroom water filler but they are cold and not everyone wants it. Airport authorities should be thoughtful about passengers need when they run such a big show and such food places should be extra thoughtful

Alright I guess this is heavy traffic area with customers but at least can it be done with some respect . I was buying my self hot tea with milk . But here they make you are the mega problem and doing their service as like you borrow something from there while paying them ! And yes it was no milk , no cup holder , I asked second cup so I can hold the double cup with hot tea , nope they looked at me as I asked to have me money . Tooooooo baaaaaad !

I love their cookies, but I find them a little difficult to find in stores. One I found out that they had a store. I wasn't sure if the cookie window was just for individual keys or if you had to buy a pack. Turns out you can buy individual cookies and it's really great! I highly recommend stopping and grabbing a cookie. They have them both fresh and frozen.

Let me just say.. I never knew a cookie place could do this to me. I ordered the Party {harder or not at all} and the 'nother nuckin' Futz {pb lovers unite} cookies and they are so delicious! I was very ecstatic to receive these promising cookies and ate one that was baked (per instruction) on camera in front of my mother, at first bite I was like.. "Oh yeah mom, I'm gonna have a problem" to which she laughed so haaarrrd. I literally devoured that thing in less than 4 minutes. Now she is buying them and so is another other relative of mine. I ate one from the fridge just now and it tasted perfectly fine??? Like bro these cookies are soooo hecking good!! Among other things, there was an issue I made on my delivery address and bigfatcookie kindly assisted me through it all :D they are very sweet and loving people. I am 𝘴𝘰 thrilled I came across a worthy dessert shop that's professional, hospitable and good at what they do. There is a little something for everybody.

I have been following Big Fat Cookie for a couple years and have been dreaming of being able to order from them. My husband was skeptical at first about ordering cookies from so far away, but that quickly changed when we received our order. They were incredible! I love a softer cookie and they were the perfect texture. I also had so much fun with their creativity. A huge bonus was buying from a company that was raising money for relief in Ukraine!

Pricey but nice :) we stopped by to get some coffee. I got bicerin (espresso, hot chocolate and iced latte. They were good guality. The location is really convenient. You can walk in the Michigan av. And have some food or coffee here.

Very New York. Lol. Said with both sides of that coin. Super posh and spendy, but you really do get what you pay for. It took us a while to find the restaurant on the top floor, and all the other lovely imported items. And the lunch special feed both my husband and I quite handily. The tomato and fresh mozzarella fried rice balls were delicious and there were four to the starter plate. The tagliatelle with pork and beef bolognese was beautifully fresh. The pasta was obviously fresh, with that perfect snap and chew, and the slow cooked sauce stood up well to the snow of aged Parmesan that was grated on to of it. Sparkling water was served as a bottle as it should be where they sell three entire racks of truffle products, with white as well as black truffle. The waiter kept up a constant banter, with some stellar recommendations for farm to table restaurants in the area. Afterwards, we went and got a fresh cannoli, with the pistachio ricotta piped into the super crisp shell when we ordered the pastry. It was perfect.

Love Eataly!! and it exceeded my expectations. The italian culture and food Eataly really embraces just that! The restaurants are amazing, rich in flavor and true italian meals. You can have a glass of wine while you shop around the store. Very friendly staff and well educated on wines and foods. My wife and I walked in for a quick small lunch after having a few drinks at the signature room at the John Hancock yesterday. I got the prime rib sandwich from the sandwich station upstairs happy i did! Such a basic sandwich but so much flavor punch. Bread, prime rib,olive oil, salt and black pepper and that's it! The prime rib was so melt in your mouth tender amazing soft nice Fresh bread and top notch olive oil. We also had their pizza which was decent need bit more sauce but very good flavors. 100% recommend!

If you want to indulge and enjoy the wide variety that Eataly has to offer, you definitely need to stop by. The desserts are delicious, there’s a huge selection of great quality at fair prices, and it’s perfect for eating well and quickly. Highly recommended!

One of the great disappointments in recent food memory. I’ve heard so many great things about Eataly. Not sure where those people went, but it’s not likely this Miracle Mike location. Had bucatini cacio e pepe that lacked flavor, cacio and pepe - see the photo of almost no pepper or cheese. I got a $27 bowl of pasta (nicely al dente) with almost nothing in it. I could have bought fresh pasta for 1/4 the price and also not gotten any cheese or pepper. The tagliatelle ragu had better flavor and actual ingredients, but you can see from the pasta that they clearly never cooked the two together - the wads of pasta were crunchy and inedible. I asked the man and woman at the restaurant host stand for recommendations, and they both said they didn’t eat the food there. Now I know why! Sadly, that $100 was an utter and complete waste for us. We won’t return. Find better food options pretty much anywhere. The store is fun and has a gazillion options, including the fun pasta shapes and colors in the photo. The little pizza joint on the first floor was nice with a crispy slice of sopressata. It was 2p on a Monday for reference.

I stopped for a quick dinner a few days ago for the prefix menu and was met with disappointment when it came down to the following things. I used to come here often with my family when I lived in the city 2 years ago. Upon arrival I was sat fairly quickly, I asked about the prefix menu and my server was kind enough to walk me to where I needed to go which was at another restaurant. I was then greeted with a bad attitude from the host who was wearing a significant amount of eyeliner. Not only were they slightly rude, they had a wait list of 45 minutes for a table for 2. A wait list that long when most of the tables were empty is honestly ridiculous. The tables empty were of course tables to accommodate larger groups, which most of the restaurant is filled with. We were on a time crunch so we sat at the high top tables which was upsetting because they advertise the prefix menu but you can only order it at one location. Our pizzas were phenomenal like always, but I digress when it came to our bread which was incredibly dry and disgusting. When I was on my way to the restroom I saw how they store the bread. It seems very unsanitary the way it is stored. I was honestly shocked and dissatisfied with my whole experience. I definitely will not be going back to dine in.

Superb food. One day I had fresh spaghetti and other the gnocchi. Good quality food and serving. I was lucky to be served by Fernando, super nice person, attentive and professional. Hardworking person, he never stopped.

This place is ideally located for the intense foot traffic for practically all days when it is open. The place was packed on this sunny Saturday as autumn descends on the month. This is a well established institution city-wide with many locations as a baker and grocer. I really enjoyed their ham and cheese croissant. It was savory and flavorful encased in a crunchy, fluffy and flaky pastry shell. Extremely satisfying!! However, i was absolutely disappointed with their Morning Sandwich. Granted their 15 minute promise for my order took nearly 25 minutes was not the issue. Its just when I finally received it and walked 30 feet to Iwan Ries to enjoy it, It was soggy. The sandwich also was very sparse on the bacon and cheese, though the avacado was prominent. I guess the use of white toast acted like a sponge as it steamed in the wrapper. It was still tasty but you really cant screw up scrambled eggs. Though I have had much better ones (see Doma Cafe).

What a vibrant and thriving coffee shop!! I absolutely love how friendly all the staff is first of all. They warmly welcome you as you walk in and colors richly envelope the space to feel appreciated. They offer so many options for vegetarians! The coffee options are vast and I ended up getting 2 drinks for myself bc I couldn’t pick. The smoked vanilla vanilla latte and the miso cold foam pumpkin cold brew. I paired my drinks with 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, and vegan patties and toast with an everything bagel. I love the hearty breakfast options bc I like to have a big breakfast to keep me satiated in the mornings. I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere and I would recommend visitors and locals to Goddesses and the baker over the other coffee shops in the city!

This place is super cute. The food is relishes and they have a lot to choose from. I DID NOT LIKE THEIR SEATING ARRANGEMENT: the metal chairs are very hard to seat on, the round tables are kinda small even for 2 people and when food comes, it occupies the entire table. We ordered the Ironman scramble - very delicious and fulfilling, I had an omelette and it was very yummy. My mom is a professional baker and she said that their croissants are fantastic.

Great place for breakfast in the Downtown of Chicago. Just perfect if you have an early flight in and planning to explore the Art Institute of Chicago, which sits just a few blocks away. Have your breakfast here, then spend the rest of the day in the museum. The food was good, the coffee was good, the service was quick and friendly. Irate here 7 year ago, and I was surprised to see they didn't change for worse. Good job! The place is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and I think it's a great indicator of consistency and dedication. My only note- please do something about the tables. Either refinish, or remove the varnish altogether. The way it's now it doesn't look good.

Fun little place, with a line out the door. I had the bagel mash up sandwich. It was good (and would likely get it again), but I have had better. The preparation was interesting. Instead of a traditional bagel with cream cheese and lox layered, the lox and other accoutrements are mixed in with the cream cheese. My wife had the Sunrise Burrito. Again, it was good, but not the best. Since reviews of their coffee were sometimes disappointing, I decided to get an Americano, and it was superb! Fun little experience. I would recommend this, but it’s not an absolute must for the burrito or bagel and lox. However, if you’re in the area and want to make a quick stop for a coffee—make the stop and get the Americano instead!

I went here on a Thursday at 8:30 AM. The café was very busy and they don’t have very good line management. People are always asking if you are in line to order or if you are waiting for your food. I think another issue is that the menu in the morning is way too broad and has too many menu items. Most people were ordering espresso drinks, and those take longer to make. Food was mostly pastries, but even those took a long time to get people their orders. I don’t necessarily think they were short staffed, because the staff were bumping into each other in a tight space. But I think that they could do to simplify their menu for an early morning rush. Like when I visited. I ordered the steak and eggs, protein bowl. The steak and eggs, protein bowl was lackluster and didn’t have much flavor. I also ordered a 16 ounce cold brew. That was OK but not spectacular. I think if they want to be more of a sitdown establishment with such space for sitdown guest, they need to raise their prices or simplify their menu.

I love this chain and was there early in the morning to have breakfast. I had my usual coffee and garden wrap and it was amazing. I tried the cinnamon date latte and it was delicious.

Very romantic place!! From the moment you enter the atmosphere tells you this is a date night place. It was actually so dark that you had to use the candles or your phone to see the menus. All the staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The first course cheese dip and the third course dessert was exceptional. The second course portions were fairly small, and you had to be very careful not to under or overcook the food. Make sure you bring extra cash.... If you're on a budget like me, the check with the tip and valet parking can be a bit overwhelming. It was a great experience but next time we will go someplace where we don't have to work so hard for our dinner...lol.

I went there for a solo date and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Food was great, portions are great as well. All experience was very pleasant. I didn’t feel rushed or anything, I took my time and enjoyed the meal. Everything was fresh and good quality. Just make sure not to set up your table on fire when you burning your marshmallows (I almost did😅)! Restaurant itself very cozy. So yeah, very suitable for solo dates as well, don’t hesitate to come in if you don’t have a company!

First night here celebrating my anniversary. The ambience was so intimate and romantic. Every single employee we came into contact with was incredibly friendly and seemed just so happy to be there. The guy taking our coats was such a friendly and kind man. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and the guy at the front was so sweet. The food was outstanding. You get so much food, you’ll leave stuffed! We will definitely be returning!

I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long while now and my plans, hopes and dreams finally came through last night. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive. The food is exceptional. And no better way to enjoy the food and ambiance here than listening to a live guitar musician playing a flamenco in the background! I really recommend this spot!!! We had the Premier fondue experience which is a must here! The protein I ordered and highly recommend is lobster tail. Leave some room for the dessert drinks (espresso martini!) and the chocolate fondue. You can also make some s’mores!!!

Geja’s has a super lovely and intimate ambience, perfect for a cozy night out. We had the Premier Dinner, starting with a rich cheese fondue that paired perfectly with bread, fruit, and veggies. The hot oil course featured beef, lobster, and shrimp, with the spicy aioli and chimichurri being our favorites. I especially enjoyed the lobster and shrimp, while the steak was less memorable. Dessert was a decadent flaming chocolate fondue with a rich and indulgent finish. Always a hearty and memorable visit!

The food was delicious and waiters were wonderful, this review would be 5 stars for the restaurant itself, BUT the valet (Modern Parking Services) didn’t listen to the instructions for how to run the car even after we gave them instructions five times, and then after dinner we discovered they ran out both our GAS AND BATTERY while we were inside so the car needed both a jump AND gas after leaving. And of course there was no assistance, refund, or apology. Do NOT trust the valet if you come here. I highly recommend Gejas seek alternate valet service as I will not be returning due to this issue that ruined what would have been a lovely night.

Great atmosphere for a date night. Very cozy feel despite moderate noise on the inside. The overall decor and feel.of the place was warm and inviting with friendly staff. We had the cheese fo due followed by dessert. The cheese came out melted but was almost cool. After it heated up it was a little better. The food served with it was fresh and the price considering the area was reasonable. The dessert chocolate was good, we would have preferred a white chocolate but we were never asked. Once we ordered the cheese and chocolate and not the full 3 course, our server wasn't as interested in us. Overall, would definitely recommended.

Very high-end restaurant centered in Chicago in the Fulton market district. We selected a sampling of three different meats for four people. All were wonderful. Wagyu beef is phenomenal. Service was spectacular. Atmosphere was equally matched by the quality of the meal. Cannot go wrong but expect to pay quite a bit. Was it worth it? If you can afford it yes it is. And if you are so inclined chances are great you could be entertained by a magician side table close up for an additional $70.

Went there with a group of 5. Had reservations at 7pm, but we got early. They were happy to accommodate us anyways! Food was great, we ordered 2 giant steaks to share, plus some appetizers and sides. Everyone loved the tomahawk steak, but my favorite was the porterhouse. Desserts were also fantastic! Never had a coffee creme brulee before, but it was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions for drinks. Hope to visit again some time!

Great date spot or for occasions. Has an old money aesthetic, and popular for their beef Wellington. It’s on the pricey side, and says is shareable for two but if I didn’t get any other dishes or appetizers, I could’ve eaten it by myself. It was really good though, and a rare menu item. The lobster bisque and oysters were really tasty, and the corn side dish was surprisingly one of the best corn dishes I’ve had. Overall really professional and attentive service. Would recommend.

Top notch steakhouse. Service was on point and attentive. Upscale atmosphere, great menu, I guess reasonably priced for Chicago. Dinner for 2 without tip and no alcohol or dessert $256. Had beef wellington for 2, three sides...which were just OK, but a generous serving, the rock shrimp appetizer, delicious! And Ceasar salads. A lot of food! The little biscuits bread service were addicting. I would go back to try their Waygu selections. They had a cool dessert cart they were rolling around, but I couldn't fit it in. I don't like this 4% additional fee they sneak in, on top of taxes and tip, the meal goes up 25%! But...that's vacation in the city.

DON’T SLEEP ON THE BREAD. When I tell you the bread was amazing, I’m not overselling. It was so yummy, the heirloom tomato salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. The steaks were really good, but they weren’t the high point of the evening for sure. There are better steaks in Chicago, but I’d go back for the bread alone.

Positives: the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The Wagyu fillet, filet mignon and stuffed chicken schnitzel were phenomenal. We ordered and shared a bunch of the sides and loved them; the creamed corn, mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese were real stand outs! Negatives: Service was a little slow because the restaurant was totally packed and the waiters were spread a little thin but everyone was very nice. Also the restaurant was quite loud

I had high expectations for Swift & Sons given all the hype, but my experience fell short. The steak — which should be the star of the show — came out burnt and overcooked, which really took away from what could have been a great meal. Service was also disappointingly slow; it felt like we were waiting far too long between courses and drink refills. We sat on the patio, and the tables felt cheap and out of place for a restaurant that markets itself as upscale. For the price point, I expected a much better overall experience. There are definitely a lot better steakhouses in Chicago that deliver both in food quality and service

Very fun place to visit, especially with kids. The giant smoking cocktails are a must. They are delicious, but so sweet. The menu is overwhelming with way too many food options, but we went with what our server recommended (chicken fajitas), and they were very good. Th restaurant has a fancy, fun vibe with big leather booths and crystal chandeliers everywhere. There is a candy shop with fun items to bring home.

Had such a good experience tonight at The Sugar Factory celebrating my daughters bday. Our server Victor was amazing and gave us solid recommendations as we deliberated what to get from their expansive menu. I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta and let me tell you IT WAS FANTASTIC! The portions was so generous I definitely brought some back to the hotel which is gonna make a great midnight snack! My wife got the buffalo chicken loaded fries and they were great. Daughter got the chicken and waffles and was very satisfied. My nephew got the signature burger which he was very happy with. Vibes were good, bathroom was clean, but the service was amazing.

Had reservations for party of 4 on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not crowded at all, they could have accommodated walk in. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food came out quick and was delicious. We had burgers, milkshakes and the platter. You cannot customize the platter options. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff sang for the birthday girl. The only thing is you have to pay $5 for the sparkler. Cute decor.

It's just that an experience, we went early so it was not busy, the food and drink was soo good, but over priced, I mean 150 for me and a toddler is insane. Probably won't go back. It was her birthday i had to pay for the sparkler 5$ and she couldn't even get a handful of candy which was so overpriced.

My girlfriend always wanted to come to The Sugar Factory! So I made reservations for 8:30pm to help celebrate her birthday. Got there just about 8:25pm & was immediately sat at a great booth. 5 minutes later was approached by the waiter, who asked if we wanted to leave cause he's Mexican & then proceeded to tell us we need to hurry due to last call, the kitchen is closing, even though online closing time is 11pm. I spent $217.40 for 4 burgers, a club sandwich & a drink, not to mention $59 for parking. The burgers were just as rushed as we was & unseasoned, Huge disappointment & let down for a first time visit! The waiter returned about 8:58pm, minutes after receiving our food telling us he need to clean the table, I asked for more water, but he then presented my girlfriend with a small dish of whip cream & a spoon full of ice-cream with a candle & sparkler. I asked if he forgot the water, he left & returned once again with water & the bill, which also had 20% service charge! I've had better food & service at Burger King, SO DISAPPOINTED!!! And I would like a refund.

I love this place for pictures, the drinks are really instagrammable but way too sweet. The food portions are so big that two people can eat from one plate. I went this past weekend I spend $180 just for 4 drinks no food ( 4 people). It’s very expensive . The service is very slow.

I had the tequila flight, but unfortunately, I didn't like it. Tasted like sugary weak tequila shots. The watermelon one didn't even come close to watermelon flavor. My friends had other drinks which they liked. The food was good and very generous portions. Very unique experience. Very good and fast service . Very pricey, my tequila flight was $55. Parking is right next door and across from The Gwen $15 with business discount upto 3hrs, afterwards it's about $50-$60. I will go back and try some other items on their huge menu.

This is the best ice cream. If you visit Chicago, I recommend getting any of the options from their menu that include chocolate ice cream from the second floor. Of course, the chocolates are great. While you can buy this brand of chocolates at stores, the ice cream is a unique treat in the Midwest. They also have some other items for sale besides chocolates, like mugs or souvenirs. The bathroom is not visible, but it's on the second floor, on the right side.

It’s not easy to miss this place as it’s located right next to the Trump tower overlooking the river on Michigan Avenue aka the Magnificent Mile. The chocolate shop is at the lower level while an escalator takes you to the first floor is where you get the ice cream, hot chocolate and all the sugar you can handle. It was a Saturday and they were open till 11 pm so I can’t tell if if that how late they stay open on weekdays. We tried the hot chocolate and it was too sugary for us but then to each his / her own. Maybe an ice cream next time whenever that day comes…All in all seems like a fun place to grab an ice cream / hot chocolate or any other sugar cravings you may have…

Ghirardelli is always a 5 star experience no matter which one. We got here around 1230 and it wasn't busy. My wife and I split a Dubai chocolate sundae. It was the usual Ghirardelli experience. Awesome, despite the total cost of $22. Not the healthiest but it was excellent.

I am a FROST… and ice cream is our thing. Before Chicago became a foodie town, there were simple joys like Margie’s. Homemade ice cream sundaes served in fancy shell, albeit plastic dishes, in a tiny, nostalgic spot. The scoops are huge, the ice cream is delicious, and the charm is timeless. 🍦🍦Also…the personal juke boxes at the booths are so cool! 😎

This place is so cute! I tried it for the first time after seeing it on The Bear. Had to wait outside for a few minutes to be seated, but once we got inside, service was quick and attentive. My boyfriend was a big fan of the antique decor including the record player(?) at our table. We got the atomic fudge sundae with chocolate and chocolate chip ice cream. It was a delight - 2 scoops of ice cream with whipped cream, nuts, cherries, a wafer, a chocolate shell, and hot fudge. Absolutely delicious! The portions are HUGE and one sundae is definitely more than enough for two people. Also, the menu is very extensive so you are bound to find something you like. Though, I suggest going with a friend - you won’t be able to finish a sundae by yourself. Must try if you’re in Chicago!

God bless the homemade hot fudge. The ice cream sundae here is absolutely fantastic, and getting to pour on the hot fudge at my table was amazing!!!! My only complaint is the tightness of the dining area and booths, but I GET IT! It's a historic building! It's part of the experience! But it was difficult to sit with my bigger friends at this place.

I got a chance to dine in here. I came here on weekdays so I didn't need to wait too long just 30-45 mins. When you come here there might be a long line so you might want to give up but the thing is that the line might be people who are waiting for their takeout order so I recommend coming into the shop and talking to the lady first. She will ask for your name and how many people to put on the waiting list and will call your name when the table is ready. They have a couple of seats in front of the shop for waiting. If you want to get a takeout order the line starts from the cashier on the left side when you open the door. First, I plan to try their sandwich too but unfortunately, they don't serve sandwiches late at night so they only offer drinks and ice cream on the menu. The shop might be small but the menu is huge. I got to try some drinks and ice cream. It was pretty good and the portions were huge as well. It was good and the price is not bad. I like the atmosphere. It's so nice to see this old-school ice cream shop in Chicago. It made me feel like I was in a 90s movie. There are a lot of things I would like to try so I definitely will be back here again!

OMG 😮!!! It's a heaven for people having sweet tooth. The quantities are huge. You will be in a sugar rush at the end for sure. We had their best. (Chocolate marshmallow sundae and brownie one too) I would definitely love to go back again ❤️

My favorite hidden gem in the Second City is Margie’s Candies. It’s my go-to spot whenever I get the munchies. Be prepared for a wait—there’s usually a line to get seated—but the portions and flavors are absolutely worth it. If you’re planning to order one of their famous ice cream specialties, I recommend sharing it with a friend (they’re huge!)

Iconic!!!! , I enjoy dining here. This is where memories are made of, brought my daughter here for the first time she maxed that Sunday, I had the banana split, my wife had the old fashioned banana split, and my mother had the Pina colada split. Must try if you're an ice cream fan.

Great desserts! I was in the area so I came here but I will go to the streeterville location going forward since it’s closer to me. The CINNAMON ROLL was amazing. Going on my list of best ones in Chicago! Soo so good. The sugar cookie also great! Just exactly what I look for when I have a sugar cookie with icing. The strawberry cupcake with vanilla icing was amazing too!! I want to come back and try more flavors 😊 but tough since it’s summer and I want to stay bikini ready 😭 I also love the playlist they had going! When I left, an employee made sure to thank me for coming and to have a good day—I appreciated it. The world is crazy and very small gestures help make it easier to keep going. Only feedback I have would be to give the bathroom a little more love. 💕

Wonderful quality at a great price! We ordered a 9" round for our wedding (just to cut and have the first bite together as our venue provided other desserts to the rest of the guests). The team at Sweet Mandy B's was great to work with and matched our wedding crest/design to perfection! Tasted great and was overall a smooth, pleasant process. I would recommend them to anyone else looking for a custom design on a tasty cake. :)

Sweet Mandy B’s is the BEST bakery of all time; you cannot change my mind. Super premium, high-quality, real butter and sugar, “homemade” desserts! I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have purchased there. Seeing as they are the BEST and my ALL-TIME-FAVORITE, I decided we would use them for our wedding desserts because I wanted to share their goodness with our friends and family. Boy did they come through! Everyone LOVED the frosted cookies, the chocolate chip cookies, the mini cupcakes, and especially the frosted rice krispie treats (which confused them at first but everyone ended up loving the most). We also purchased a small wedding cake from them and of course, it was perfect. Bailey, event organizer for the bakery, listened to our picture for how we wanted the cake to look, accommodate our other dessert needs, and exceeded our expectations overall. The cake tasting process was fun too because they give you 6 of their giant and delicious cupcakes, all different flavors and frostings and allow you to test them before you make a choice; free of charge of course. I could not be HAPPIER with the customer service and more importantly the overall quality and taste of our wedding desserts and cake. I would utilize them 1000% more, if I still lived in IL - we had to drive all the way to Chicago on the day of our wedding rehearsal to pick up our desserts for our WI wedding and I have NO REGRETS!! I wanted Sweet Mandy B’s and I got it!! Any time I am in Chicago, I make sure to visit the Lincoln Park location, my personal favorite.

They also offer mini sizes of lots of their treats as well as gluten free options, which was great. Their team was wonderful to work with—friendly, responsive, and clearly very experienced. They brought our vision to life perfectly and made sure every last detail was just right. We’re so grateful for their part in making our day feel extra sweet!

Sooooo good! The shop is adorable, staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious. The breakfast sandwich was amazing- the biscuit looked like it might be dry, but it was very buttery and moist. The eggs and cheese were perfect too. Don’t even get me started on the pie. The chocolate cream pie was to die for. It’s so rich and smooth, everything you want out of a good chocolate pie. My mom was with us and had the stone fruit berry pie as well, which she said was delicious and sweet.

What's not to love about this unique, local pie shop? I've been here a few times, and walked away happy every time. There are several size choices, and every flavour hits the spot. Decoration is lively, as is the staff. I make sure to leave time to visit every time I come to Chicago.

My wife brought me here to try out their pies. We went here at the end of the day but didn't have any problems with parking. We ordered a couple of pies and a quiche. I just wished we went earlier in the day since the pies we had was good but you could feel that it has been sitting out for a long time. The quiche was amazing though. The service was decent and the atmosphere was alright. All in all, it was still a pretty good experience and will definitely come back again.

Come for the breakfast items & Dollop Coffee and stay for their amazing pie! There is always a line. Some days it moves faster than others. Always fresh and locally sourced, I’venever had a bad bite here. I particularly like their muffins, fruit turnovers, & a biscuit with jam. My favorite pie is the “Fat Elvis.” There is ample seating both indoors and outdoors. The bustling cafe is a common meeting place for friend and families. Recommended.

This is a charming place and the pies they turn out are super fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor! We enjoyed a cherry limeade and an Earl Grey custard. We went back one morning during our visit to Chicago and tried their biscuits. Again, delicious! Loved it!

This place has the best pie in Chicago. It's always great. It's a cute spot for a date. I love it. I can't say enough nice things about it. The people are friendly. The food is great. I don't think I've ever had something here that I didn't like. Free water. Back patio. Quirky booths. The pie is amazing. If you're looking for pie, they have pie and if you're disappointed, let me know and I'll come eat it for you.
