This place feels like a trendy tavern and I adore it. Their cocktails are delicious and very well priced for speciality drinks. Their chorizo/potato tacos are the best I’ve ever eaten. The ambiance is great on a weekday, the staff is very helpful, and they’re very patient if Spanish isn’t your first language. Definitely a must go to in Guadalajara/Colonia Americana!

Came here twice because of all the reviews. Food is ok. nothing "spectacular" same as street food. I can get the same thing at the corner. I guess if your a tourist not well traveled it may seem good to you. Service is good. Both times I tried to use my card, their machine did not work. I won't be back. Get your machine to work & let me know if it does and I be back. I don't like to carry cash and your the only place in town I have this issue with.

Heard a lot about this place from others and it was a really cool inside. Tiny so they can have a really long wait but traveling solo it’s often not very difficult to a get a single spot at a bar. The margarita I had was very good and the tacos were okay. I love cochinita pibil so the two of those I had were excellent but the chorizo taco was just okay. Service was as good as it can be without it being amazing. The decor and aesthetic was my favorite part. Lots of cool and interesting things all over the walls.

Laid back little cantina. About 200 pesos for most of their shots believe it’s 1.5oz pour. Have stuff like Tahona, Ancestral, tapatio flight, Fortaleza, Cascahuin flight. They have a good amount of allocated bottles as well. Employees are great and knowledgeable. Will be back in the future without a doubt.

Stopped by this spot right when it opened for cocktails and a snack. Great little spot with excellent service. We got a Zombi (uber strong! use caution) and a banana colada (nice and refreshing). Got the chicharrones which come with tortillas so it's pretty much an entree perfect for two and nice and salty to go with the drinks. Check it out!

It just doesn't get better than this for a cocktail bar. I can't even begin to describe how delicious their drinks are. I normally drink an Old Fashioned which are nearly perfect here. During my last visit I had the bartender do a "dealers choice" and he prepared the best most delectable gin and tonic I have ever had. Who new a gin and tonic could be so good. It was citric and lightly sweet. I loved it. If you love cocktails this is a must visit. Their specialty is tequila, mezcal and rum but they can do just about anything. They don't have anything prepared in advance. Every drink is hand crafted. This makes the drinkes incredibly fresh. I could go on and on. Just go there and try one.

We love craft breweries and this one did not disappoint. A very nice 2nd floor terrace. A good selection of beers on tap. They're a bit on the pricey side. We had an Oatmeal Stout, $12 USD.

Cool place to grab some taps and try some imported or craft beer with your friends. The food is good for a bar and the ambiance is nice. I really like to stay at the terrace in the 2nd floor, just be careful on rainy days, you can get really wet with a big storm, so be prepared!

First time visiting, food is surprisingly good and beer is delicious. If you enjoy IPA & Stout beer, I recommend that you order "OBNI FUSION COSMICA" and "SANTA SABINA OLLA STOUT". On Sundays they close early, make sure to get there before 8. The waiters are very kind and friendly.

#48 on the list of best bars in the world, and I think it deserves the recognition. El Gallo Altanero is incredibly charming. Located in a courtyard between two buildings, visitors are seated both downstairs and on the patio upstairs. The roof of the patio opens to a dreamy night sky and lanterns. The drinks were incredibly good and well made. We tried four cocktails and all of them were delicious so I think you can’t go wrong with any of the menu options. My favorite was probably the one that had coffee in it. It was like an espresso martini or Carajillo but super creamy and no alcohol taste. The service is great, the servers all spoke English and took their time to explain how to drink certain cocktails. The food was surprisingly really good as well. The torta was soaked in a bowl and had to be eaten with a spoon but it was amazing. The tacos were good. The potatoes…I thought would be crispier, but honestly they grew on me as I ate them. We came at 8:30pm (party of 2) on a Friday night and we were seated immediately. Any time after around 9:30, you will most likely have to wait in a line.

Cool speakeasy kind of feel. The name of the place on maps was different than the name on the sign so we had to confirm when we got to the entrance. The place is kind of nondescript and quiet at the front but once you get back to the bar it’s lively and a hidden gem. The service was excellent, they were very accommodating when we had a large group even though they didn’t have much space. It’s a tight fit so be prepared to wait if you go on a busy night. The drink menu is extensive and there are creative drinks.

This place is perfect for a date night! The live music, drinks, tapas, and most importantly the staff are phenomenal! I’m sure that the atmosphere set the mood for the moment I asked my date to be my girlfriend 6 rounds for 2 people + food was +$2000 We were here on a Sunday night around 9 pm - it was packed but we only waited about 20 mins for a table to free up. It is first come first serve so be strategic on where you want to sit.

I've been here a couple of times, the palomas are delicious here, even though it's a classic drink that you can get anywhere, they prepare it here with fresh grapefruit juice instead of grapefruit soda (squirt) My second favourite is the coffee drink "Cafe de olla" FYI: The upstairs drink menu has a few more options that main floor. The guacamole is great Service is top-notch

Absolutely loved this place. It is the best bar in Guadalajara and one of the best bars in Mexico. The space is intimate and quirky, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the cocktails highlighted the best local flavours and ingredients and the food was also very good. One of my favourite bars in the world and very deserving of being a top 500 best bar.

Phenomenal. We loved the community table concept and ambiance. The service was kind and calm. Oscar was charismatic and patient. A must for any visitor and local in Guadalajara. Wonderful way to preserve millennial culinary traditions and the native culture. I will return and recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been coming to xokol for four years and never have I been disappointed. Their traditional plates that are modernized with a creativity creates plates that are unique and delicious. The menu changes with the seasons so expect fresh ingredients and to see a plate once. You might see it again but not the exact same except for their ceremonial taco. The service is phenomenal and I’ve been a frequent enough patron to be recognized by the staff who have been there for awhile. If you want stereotypical Mexican food, you’ll be disappointed. This a mix of traditional dishes with non traditional ingredients. Tourists need to understand there are many cuisines in Mexico. Don’t eat here if you’re a picky eater either. While it’s ok to not like certain flavors or dishes, it’s never good to go in with a closed mind set. I personally recommend to get the oysters tuétano, or any fish/kampachi dish. Bonus points if you go and there’s a dish with an ingredient from someone the chefs know/their family. I’ve also done their guest chef dinners and tasting menus and it’s always been amazing.

This is one restaurant I hope lasts for the time to come. I would recommend the tastings if this is your first time here and venture to dinner if it would be your second visit. It's a lot of fun and the quisine is beautiful and tasty. You can tell that the staff is very team oriented and take pride in their work. I especially enjoyed the grilled oyster with hoisen. Excellent. Could have eaten five of those. The off-menu cóctel list was very impressive. There's wasn't a cocktail that I didn't like but for my personal taste there were some that I preferred over others. There was a simple gin and tonic with romero that was fantastic. Grab your favorite dinner companions and make this a destination for the evening.

I can’t speak highly enough about my experience at Xokol. We were a two person walk-in, no reservation, and they went out of their way to make sure we could dine-in. On top of that this one was of the best meals I’ve ever had. Don’t miss this stop in GDL anything you order will be amazing.

Loved Xokol! The service and food were outstanding. We did not have a reservation, but the two of us turned up just before 7pm on Wednesday and were met by friendly staff who were able to seat us for dinner. We chose to order off the menu rather than to do the tasting. We ordered 4 dishes and loved them all. Our favourites was the octopus empandas, the Tlacoyo and the sweet corn chorreada. We were stuffed and could not do dessert. But the staff provided us a free dessert to try and it was amazing. If you are in Guadalajara I strongly recommend eating at Xokol.

The ambience and interior of this bar is cool. Very gloomy and dark vibe (sometimes too dark and hard to see). The bartender was friendly and made my drinks quickly. The drinks themselves lacked flavor and aroma. I ordered two cocktails and one of them was supposed to have blueberry in it but I didn't taste it at all.

We came looking for great cocktails based on reviews. The cocktails were pretty basic I would say, not anything creative that's unique to this bar, and menu doesn't have descriptions of them, just names of the standards like Old Fashioned, Gimlet, etc. We asked for an off menu cocktail and they couldn't make it and didn't seem really interested in experimenting. Nothing wrong with that just FYI that it's not a fancy cocktail place where they are creating something new. We came on the early side and sat outside for one drink so can't speak for atmosphere later in the night in the bar.

My favorite bar in the city. Oso and Ale are so friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. Get a perfectly mixed Negroni or a pickle-back shot and forget your woes.

So for starters I discovered this place by seeing a photo of a banh mi. So of course on my first visit I ordered the sandwich and was not disappointed. I really like the atmosphere Pigalle has and I'm eager to return to try the rest of it's menu.

Sadly I was quite disappointed by the food at La Docena. The oysters were good, but I ended up being charged more than $200 each. The crab soup had good flavor, though a little salty, and the crab meat was shredded into very tiny pieces, no there were no chunks at all. The tortillas that came with the soup were absolutely terrible, the tasted stale and I would have been disappointed if they were with $50 tacos, let alone with a meal that cost $1900 for one person. The grilled octopus was ok, but nothing special, the texture was mediocre and the flavor was shallow. I mention the price because if it was half as much I would say it was ok, and they had room to improve. At this price, and with their reputation, I feel they are not concerned with doing a good job anymore.

I visited Guadalajara for a couple of days and stayed near Sao Paulo Street. On my first night, I discovered La Casa De Los Platos and had a wonderful experience there. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. While walking around, I noticed that La Docena was very busy and seemed popular, so I decided to try it the next night. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the first night. The drinks were just average, and I was hoping to try guacamole—but what they served was a small portion of something similar. The menu is heavily focused on seafood and oysters, which didn’t really suit my taste, so I ended up ordering a burger. It was decent, but nothing memorable. Overall, I’d rate La Docena 3 stars. It might be a better fit for seafood lovers, but for me, it didn’t quite live up to the hype

Absolutely delicious seafood spot — everything is fresh and expertly prepared. We had the oyster special selection, shrimp tostada, raw scallop, and jamon iberico. It was all amazing!

This place is amazing. Even with the power out for the first hour I was there they didn’t miss a beat. Power came on about halfway through. But with a woodfired oven, everything can continue on. From the amazing tequila, spicy blue crab soup, shrimp cocktail, to the amazing steak. Recommend highly.

Food was decent, the service was OK, the atmosphere is very nice. I ordered a Lonche de pancita (pork belly sandwich) and got a sandwich that, in my opinion, was pork leg. I didn't want to wait to wait to discuss and maybe get a replacement sandwich, so I just went ahead and ate it. It was OK, but with the Pajarito (bottled) salsa added, the flavor improved. My visit to Cafe Palreal in Guadalajara left much to be desired. The food, unfortunately, fell below my expectations, with offerings that were decidedly below average in taste and presentation. Poor customer service they only had 4 tables , a lot of staff. It took them 15min to notice we were waiting to place our order. Drink we're late. Waitress awful service and they guy with glasses and tattoos was in another world in his mind. Definitely this place is not worded for me. I believe the torts ahogadas right in front gives you a better service than this piece of crappie place.

Excellent place for coffee and breakfast. I love their versions of classic breakfasts, and the fact that they don't give you huge portions. I had two breakfasts there with coffee, perfect way to start the day.

The best coffee shop i’ve tried in Guadalajara. Great food and good coffee bean variety. The filtered drinks were really nice on the mouth. The milk based drinks were a little taim on the flavor, not enough punch on the taste but good and enjoyable. I’ll go back for sure.

Incredible experience at Bruna’s. We went at 6pm and got to experience the restaurant change from day to night. The venue is beautiful and the food was delicious, but what stood out the most was the service. Our server, Alejandro, guided us through the menu options and explained things in much detail. All his recommendations were superb, we enjoyed all the food very much and the drinks further elevated our experience. After dinner, Edmundo gave us a tour of the entire place (both Bruna and Octo). He was very knowledgeable and his interaction with us was a great balance of informing us about the art, history and highlights of the restaurants, as well as interacting with us (my partner and I) and leaning about us and including that in aspects of the tour. For example I told him I am Brazilian and he pointed out the flowers in the garden that were of Brazilian origin. I don’t have to mention the incredible attention to detail that went into planning this place. Overall an amazing experience that we’ll never forget.

Nothing is placed on the table without a thoughtful presentation, adding to the charm and intrigue of this establishment. Be sure to try the traditional Jalisco Cazuelita. This place already has a ton of reviews so gonna keep it short and sweet: Great burgers, great atmosphere (minus those pinche mosquitos), and great staff. Try the pastor burger. and the old fashioned was great! Get some different burgers and share with friends for sure. Lots of different flavors.

Went there with couple of friends on Saturday evening. The ambience was good and I really enjoyed the music at this place. I ordered Chicken burger which was ok ok type. The fries I got with my burger was soggy. We also tried their all the deserts in the menu. Guava pie was really nice, cheesecake was good too and I didn’t like the brownie. The service was fast. The staff was friendly.

To list down best burgers in this city, it is not so match my imagination. Maple burger is too greasy for me, I prefer something light vegetables add inside to balance . The French fried is a little bit dry. Total service is good and friendly.

Nice cute place. Rustic style and decor. My partner and I disagree on the dishes to order, so take that to mean all the options are pretty varied. We saw the snow trio. Risotto al azafrán y mejillones - flavorful but boring for me. Just risotto rice and mussels. But good flavor. Pappardelle hecho en casa a la crema de grana pasando y trufa negra - good flavor. Simple Clam chowder - flavorful but very heavy, almost tastes like dipping sauce. Mini hamburger - a bit sloppy. Flavorful but missing toppings. Tip: the dishes are all pretty basic and one sided in flavor profile. Lots of Savory buttery cheesy but no citrus / acidic component (cebolla encurtida, tomato, pickle, jalapeno, etc) to even it out. Get like a side salad to pair with some of these tapas to balance out the flavor profile. Wines Pozo de nieve tempranillo espana - normal I guess? A bit strong on tannin. Cuvee des galets Sarah grenache 2022 cotes du Rhone, Francia. - light bodied. Balanced. Guadiana 2019 merlot cab penedes CA - semi sweet. Would go great with sangria mix. Dessert wine. It's like a wine that tastes like sangria without the sangria. Inmigrante 2018 tempranillo petit Verdot Valle de Guadalupe México - My fav but could be because it was a fresh new bottle at the right temperature straight from the cooler. Balance. I would get a bottle.

We tried multiple tapas, some were delicious. Others were very okay. Atmosphere: the decor is quite lovely. Wine: very delicious and high quality wine. Service: Unfriendly and terrible customer service. We were made to feel unwelcomed, and as if we were interrupting, and an inconvenience from the staff hanging out.

A cute little tapas restaurant in Guadalajara with lots of wine selections. My waitress tonight was attentive and friendly; food was tasty. Tacos, beer, chejuino, great music with a bit of a wait, but overall a cool experience! The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 20 minutes, and we were first taken to a stand-up area to start with drinks, then later brought to a table on the top floor (though I nearly fell on one of the steps—just a warning). I began with a cocktail before transitioning to trying a chejuino (tejuino mixed with beer), which was quite refreshing (8.5/10). I ordered two tacos: the taco Lyn Mei (the house recommendation) and a taco de cochinita. The Lyn Mei taco had a Thai twist featuring pork belly with sweeter “Asian” sauces on a flour tortilla—it was exquisite and my overall favorite (9/10)! The cochinita taco was just alright, though a bit drier than a typical cochinita pibil taco (6/10). Service throughout our visit was great, and we were checked on frequently, though things slowed down a bit when we were ready to pay. The music and atmosphere were also highlights—it’s a perfect spot for a Saturday afternoon (the queue outside clearly reflects this place’s popularity). I’d recommend reserving ahead (or coming with a bit of extra time), but it’s well worth the wait for great drinks, tasty tacos, and a 10/10 atmosphere.

My first visit to Guadalajara and we were famished from our long journey and decided our first meal would be at Habanero Negro. Service was quick and attentive and the food was incredible. Taco conchinita and Taco Mongol were are favorites. Cocktails were strong and delicious and the Pacificos were very cold.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and really good selection of music. The staff is really welcoming. The service was fast. I tried their Jicama Ceviche, Flautas with Platana macho, Cauliflower tacos everything was delicious and fulfilling. Fabulous restaurant with a mixed setting (indoor/outdoor). A couple of waterfalls surround the seating that gives off a natural & exotic feel. The only drawback with the atmosphere are the mosquitos, but staff are consistently spraying repellent. The food and drinks are very delicious. Overall the experience is great. Prices are a bit on the higher end but worth it.

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Santo Coyote, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the beautiful decorations — the atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of character, perfectly balancing traditional charm with a modern touch. Both dishes were absolutely delicious — the guacamole was fresh and full of flavor, and the crunchy chicharrón added the perfect texture. Beautiful place, delicious food, super beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Their salsa amartajada, prepared from scratch by your table, was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. I was avoiding animal protein for the night, and ordered two different soups: Crema del Negro (black beans based, with cheese and herbs, etc), y Crema Hacienda de Cortes (flor de calabaza). Both were delicious. For drink I had the Jamaica with mineral water. It was very special. The chaman of the place is a good friend of my friend who was my host. The chaman is a very friendly and interesting person. It was a great experience having him for a few minutes at our table. The service was excellent, the table was in a super high palapa that is at the end of a beautiful tropical garden with tables. They also have tables and a museum of tequila on the 2nd floor. The food was the best I‘ve had in México so far! The raw shrimp had a creamy consistency, our guacamole went amazingly with the complimentary tostadas, and the tacos had a southern eastern twist to them. It was a great place for tapas similar food. However, the bar had extremely loud music, so it was not easy at all to talk to one another. And it‘s pretty difficult to get a table. Especially as a big group.

Salón candela is a great place to spend time with friends, there is not a lot of places like this anymore. Feel free to start dancing whenever you like. Food is also good. The tacos are amazing. I don’t really recomen it for large groups of people.

I tried to book a table on the app and it didn’t work. So I went with a friend and we asked for a spot; the hostess looked at us and went in to “check” but immediately came back to tell us it was completely full despite being A LOT of empty tables in sight ( was the place all reserved?) She said there was a waiting list so we signed it and we never got a call. To be honest i felt discrimination toward us because of the way we were dressed. In the end, we went to another place and had fun. I came here before and I had liked it but after this I’m not sure I will . It’s a pity it was a place I was looking forward to come back to.

Best pulque and "curados" in town, they offer live music with local artists most of the time. This is an authentic place to get along with local people.

Hidden but well known, this place is awesome. They serve basically "curados", which are mixes of pulque with different fruits like: mango, apple, etc. They also have one curado of coffee, my personal favourite by the way. They serve three sizes of curados, small, medium and large, the large one is one liter, but if you haven't tried pulque before you should go for the small or the medium sizes to try it first. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing. During weekends lots of students go there so you can easily end up talking with other people. Sometimes music groups show up and they start playing lighting up the place. Do not let the place's look mischief you, even though it is very small you will have for sure a great time.

This is a really fun, relaxed place. I had been wanting to try pulque and was delighted to find this pulque bar so close to where I am staying.

Good option for a wine bar, they sell cocktails and beer as well. Small menu but well executed, big enough variety on wine by the glass although there’s no menu but blackboards on the wall, the staff would explain the options if asked. The place has a good ambience and music, is clean and normal to low noise level. They offer breakfast on the weekends and you can sit by the bar if needed. Zero parking and no valet so be prepared to drive around at least for 10min to find a spot.

I was not a fan. Prices were approaching California level, certainly for wine, and what you get is a measured out 100, or 200 ml of juice. The food is Italian, which is blah, but people in Mexico seem to think it's the bees knees. Service was on the slow side though not bad. Place is pretty dark at night, super mood lighting.

I went there last Friday night with my boyfriend and can’t complain about the drinks and food, they were okay. Though portions are hilariously small. Kind of fancy-sized portions. The place and menu have a Madrid bar feel. What I didn’t like was the service. The staff’s attitude was unfriendly and not welcoming, we ordered extra bread that wasn’t delivered and when we asked to have our bill split the waiter said we had to give her the exact amount ourselves (maybe this bar should consider giving their staff a calculator as a work tool), and, well, as I just said: atmosphere unfriendly and not welcoming. I am going to give it a try to this place one more time, since it is one block away from my boyfriend’s house and hopefully next time I will have the chance to transmit to staff how I’d like to be treated since I am a good customer and I am just trying to relax and have a good time at the bar a Friday night!

Horrible place and staff. Stopped by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon. They had about 20 tables open tables perhaps more. Most with nice outside views. We sat down at one, we were then told it was reserved, walked towards another with nice views and one of the waiters actually put a reserved sign on the table as we were trying to move to it. We were then told everything was reserved so they stuck us at the worse table they have with an inward wall view next to the wait station. Checked OpenTable and they are wide open all evening so it was obviously a lie. I wouldn’t come back here simply because there are so many other choices in the area with staff that doesn’t lie at restaurants that don’t pretend to have reserved tables that are in fact empty so that they (the staff and restaurant) can feel important. Go elsewhere…

Staffs are nice. I took 3 cheese sandwich and my friend took beef something sandwich. I recommend you order beef sth. Because what I ordered doesn’t give vegetable. The thing is coffee is pretty nice. And they have menu for breakfast and it looks good as well. Price is not cheap.

Very cool pub and very busy. The beers were cold and the food was good. Fish and chips and chicken wings. I got the bomb spicy, they weren't that spicy though. The service is as good as it gets for the amount of staff vs the high volume. They did a great job. We will definitely return.

An excellent place to enjoy some pub favorites. The beer menu is extensive and impressive. The food menu is diverse, though surprisingly light on British fare. Absolute gem of a place. Great concept similar to a place known as "El Furniture Warehouse" in Canada. Good quality drinks and food for an unbelievable price. Place gets quite busy, crowd is on the younger side. Can see why they were able to open so many locations with their successful model.

Servers were very unhelpful, brought the wrong order out and seemed overall very disinterested in even providing the bare minimum of service. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them, and we didn’t even order or ask for much. The cherry on top was when we paid for our meal, they just assumed the tip without asking. It was such a bummer because the food was decent, but the treatment overall clouded the experience.

Update. March 2022. The prices went up again and the food menu was greatly reduced. Many favourite snacks no longer available. Came here with my brother after a long trip back from Tequila, it has been 3 years since I’ve sat in place and I have to say it is still great. Along with their big servings, the environment is chill and the host are kind. We ended up getting the two person rib meal which was fairly priced, I was tempted on getting a big liter of beer but the day before was a bit too much. I recommend this location if you want some good tasty ribs.

This is a restaurant/bar, not a club. People only go here to eat. There were six security guards in the front. They were checking bags to let people in. I had pepper spray in my bag since I was arriving alone. They told me that I couldn't have it. I went and hid it in the park across the street and then tried to re-enter. They wanted to pat me down. Brick rounded ceilings and arches, beautiful wood bar, perfect lighting, incredible decor. Modern and classy with cozy couches and loungy intimate little corners. They have areas to support large parties and small areas for the romantic couple. The music on Wednesday and Saturday night was perfect for the vibe/setting. The cocktails were incredible: well priced, delicious, and beautiful. The staff was attentive and kind (and spoke English which was an unexpected bonus). I cannot praise this place enough. This place is classy but makes you feel warm and welcome (even if you're a tourist in modest attire).
