Cozy restaurant with yummy food. Had several vegetarian and chicken dishes and was not disappointed at all. Service is good and fast as well. Only thing is that they don't take reservations, you just have to wait. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, we waited about 15 min to get a table. Quite affordable as well..

We had lunch here without any waiting, as there aren’t many tables. The kitchen is inside the sitting area, which gives a funny and lively ambiance. We tried the spring rolls with shrimp and pork — the shrimp ones weren’t very flavorful and lacked salt, while the pork ones were definitely much better. We also had a chicken sandwich, good for a quick snack, and a noodle salad with beef that was very tasty, though the portion was a bit small. Overall, I recommend it as a fast snack spot or for takeaway.
We had dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant and while the food was delicious, the wait time was quite long. Even after being seated and placing our order, it took over 20 minutes to get our food. However, the pho and the rice dishes were both very good and flavorful, which made the wait worthwhile. If you're not in a hurry, it's a great spot for some authentic Vietnamese flavors.
This place is so yummy we had to come back twice during our trip to the Netherlands! The honey pork noodle was delicious, as well as the fresh shrimp rolls with the peanut sauce. They also had a delicious gluten-free pancake dish. They do not accept Visa or Mastercard but you can pay with a debit card. They also have outdoor seating which is nice on a beautiful day!
Pho soup and rice noodle salad were really good, would recommend. We also tried the classic spring rolls with shrimps , which were also quite nice.
This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants that I have visited, keep up the good work guys!!!
The restaurant itself is very small, so reservations are recommended (but only when it is very busy, since they normally operate on a no-reservation policy), as it can be quite challenging to find free space when the streets are crowded.
I got the standard beef pho! It was pretty good but the portion size is quite small. It would be good if they added more noodles. Very limited seating inside and they don’t take most card payments (3 of my cards declined), so bring cash if you can
The only good thing about this place is that the price is quite affordable.
Food: not bad but not good either. nothing special. the broth is okay, but toppings ain’t much (maybe bc of the price). i’d give 3/5
Service: here’s all the minuses. a bit rude. not attentive at all. take away our menus immediately when we said we still want to look at the drinks (to order) a bit later. had to call a few times but kind of felt like being ignored since all of them gotta focus on the delivery and not the customers who are waiting on site. needs to have better organization. not the best experience to be honest. 1/5
Might come back to see if this is a one-time occurrence. Food was okay, decent. But the feeling of an underwhelming service still lingers. Hopefully better organization next time.
We went there because of the high reviews, but honestly, we were a bit disappointed.
The place is very small—while we were lucky to get a table, it felt cramped and uncomfortable. People kept passing over us or borrowing things from our table, and others were constantly waiting right next to us. It felt a bit too exposed for a relaxed meal.
The food 🍲 was decent, but not as good as we expected based on the reviews. The menu was quite limited, and they had already run out of some items like the spring rolls.
Also, the tables and menus were sticky, which made me question the cleanliness of the place.
All in all, I doubt I would visit again.

Top-notch experience in the Netherlands.
It offers the perfect combination of delicious food, superb wine pairings, a great location and interior, and remarkable service. You can choose between 3, 4, or 5 courses (€49/€54/€59 respectively), and are free to pick any dishes - though no more than one main course. You may also opt for an additional starter. Was especially impressed by the main course: fried cod fish cheeks with potato terrine and bok choy. The starters—steamed oyster with spinach, smoked fish rillette, and three types of beet opened the door to a world of unforgettable flavors. Everything was beautifully wrapped up with a fascinating dessert: koji parfait with caramel and fermented garlic. Waiter was delicate, knowledgeable, and calm. Highly recommended!

Creative and innovative dishes cooked with care. I really like the pre drinks, the eclair pastry and the tempeh dish. All was yummy.
We had an amazing time at Héron. The food and drinks are great. We had an oyster as an appetizer, it was good. Then we had sweet potato with coffee shoyu, as starters, which was amazing. Finally we had fish as the main course which was also great. We also love the non-alcoholic drinks which have a wide variety of unique tastes, such as a combination of matcha with black berry. The service was great.
Heron was a nice gourmet experience with a very good service and wine combination. We ordered oysters and aspargus as a starters, later on continued with deer with fresh garlic and some filet americain. The plates looks pretty. Only thing the starters were a little bit tasteless but the main dish was amazing.
Plus point to their homemade non-alcoholic wallnut-apple juice that was the best drink I ever have and their wines were also unique and tasty.
Upfront, this restaurant maybe isn’t for everyone. Not in a “pretentious you wouldn’t get it blah blah” kinda way but because not all the flavour and texture combos are to everyone’s tastes. Preserved, pickled, and fermented flavours and textures are very much a love it and hate it thing to many.
That said, if you want to taste things you’ve never tasted before or even considered being tasty this place is for you. Menu changes per the seasons, ingredients are local, and the knowledge and passion of the people working there is on another level.
If you can’t pick they are happy to pick for you. We picked our own food but left drinks (mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic) up to the waiter. Pairings were fantastic, and the dishes we had were perfectly portioned and put together. Service is incredibly warm and friendly, and every dish and drink is explained in detail. You’re left to enjoy yourself and take your time, yet you never feel unattended.
A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy something different, and I cannot recommend this place enough

Amazing spot for gluten free and plant based food.
The whole menu is gluten free, so perfect for celiacs. We sat out on the terrace on a lovely warm evening and had the sharing deal for 2 - 8 of the small plates - which turned out to be tons of food!
Excellent service and a good selection of low alcohol beer if you are into that.

Almost everything is plant-based 💚 we had the breakfast platter and the vegan ricotta was a positive surprise (I don’t usually like vegan cheeses), the cheesecake was just perfect. The atmosphere is calm and chill, and the staff attentive and efficient
The food looked amazing, but we were a bit disappointed. Nearly a year ago, it was so much better. This time, the dishes weren’t hot enough, and something from the menu was missing. No one told us beforehand, and we only realized it after the meal arrived and asked.
I was recommended by my friend and I was not disappointed. I ordered sunflower risotto and I really liked it. The menu is very different but also interesting and delicious. It's a vegetarian/ vegan restaurant, so it was good for me as I am also lactose intolerant. The ambiance was also good, though I didn't get a chance to sit outside as it was raining.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something new to try.

I’ve been coming here for over three years & it’s always delightful. The food is creative and always tasty, portions are good and staff is friendly! Only dish I would avoid: the pancakes. My go to: Shakshuka 🤤
Food was fairly tasty but honestly the service was shocking. The young girl serving us was cheerful but clueless about almost everything. She needed constant chasers for drinks and food orders, and then she served my (sober) friend with alcohol beer - which she drank before realising - after she’d clearly ordered 0.0. There are far better veggie places to go in Utrecht so we won’t be back.

I ordered Gys cilbir and even before tasting, the aroma of the spices already got me. Then I tasted it and just loved it. Everything in the dish was flavorful and you can really tell the ingredients are high quality. Now, don’t expect a very large portion, but it was still so satisfying!
I also tried one of the juices and the cake of the moment – if I could, I would just keep ordering more dishes. The atmosphere inside and outside is really nice, and the staff are very pleasant.

With around 28 years of experience, Roberto has garnered various awards for his passion and talent in crafting exceptional gelato, including the Gouden Spatel and a silver medal at the Coppa d'Oro in 2015. The shop is internationally recognized, ranking second on the list of worldwide craft ice cream makers.
Always a delicious experience! Today on the first day of the ice cream season I bought passion fruit ice cream and tasted the pistachio. Yum!

Roberto’s is hands down my favourite ice cream place in Utrecht. I love it so much I’ll travel all the way across the city just to get some. If I can’t go myself, I’ll casually (or not so casually) hint to my husband to bring me some.
The pistachio is perfect. Same for the coconut, dark chocolate, fig… actually, everything I’ve tried has been really, really good. The flavours are rich but not heavy, and you can tell it’s made with real ingredients. No added sugar, nothing fake, just pure, honest ice cream.
It’s one of those places that actually feels special.
The ice cream is very average. Please try for example Massimo in Amsterdam, it’s incomparable, Massimo being of such high quality. The ice cream at Roberto’s hardly tastes like home made, more like wholesale icecream. It’s ok, but certainly not worth waiting in line for.
I love ice-cream and Roberto's shop too, but unfortunately the last few times the ice-cream was too warm and I had to eat it too fast (on a 20 degrees day) because it was melting already while I was finishing the payment. This used to be different here, the ice-cream was colder.
Also the scoops are becoming very small and while the first scoop out of 2 is more or less alright, the second ball is not a full ball but one gentle scoop, thasmt looks exactly like halfball on top of the first one and contains about big table spoon of ice-cream. Unfortunately this visit was rather disappointing and this review with all the respect to the good job and ice-cream is to draw the attention to my personal experience. All the best!
Lovely ice cream. Well worth the walk out from the overcrowded centre of Utrecht, into quieter neighbourhoods. The ice cream was amazing and very reasonably priced, especially compared to prices in England.

Restaurant Saigon is located in Utrecht and specializes in rice dishes (Banh Ho). The servings are large and the food is definitely tasty. The iced coffee is a must try!
I've come here a couple of times but last week was a special experience to me. My husband and I were both tired, drenched from rain and we wanted a quick dinner (it was nearly 8.30). They were actually about to close but for some reasons, they agreed to take our order. I always find this restaurant have delicious menu but last week they made it extra lekker, maybe because of the warmth and kindness they gave when we were very hungry and tired after a long, long day. Definitely will become a regular. Thank you!!

We had Pho Bo Tai and Vit Quay (roasted duck). The roasted duck is amazing, it has crunchy skin and it is tasty. However, the Pho is not as good as the roasted duck. We like the Vietnamese coffee. The restaurant was busy so we had to wait for a long time before our foods were served.
The food here was very tasty , but almost too tasty . All I could really taste was the exorbitant amount of MSG on my palate , even the next morning , even had some crazy msg dreams .
The stir fried lemongrass chicken we ordered did not taste anything like a wok Vietnamese with garlic , and lemongrass - it was more a tomato sauce base …
Not sure if the wok was working that night , nothing had the wok flavour - even though it was in the menu description.
And I eat a lot of authentic Hanoi and Saigon Vietnamese in Melbourne .
A little pricey for Vietnamese , but I guess more for the the Amsterdam ‘s tourist palate for sure .
Small and cozy Vietnamese restaurant. The curry chicken rice is very tasty and the portion very big. The snack platter is nice as well. You have spring rolls, summer rolls, pancakes with shrimps, salad, and also a soup. But their pho is not extraordinary. The soup is plain and doesn’t have much taste.

Went here with friends. We had a reservation, but we were not greeted at the door. Having a difficult time talking to the servers would be a theme throughout the night.
I asked for a recommendation, if my combination of mock duck and vegan eggrolls were good on a certain dish, not having any experience with the food or restaurant (and kind of wanting to establish a polite conversation between us and the staff after the unfortunate start). The muttered answer was something along the lines of "If there is a star next to it, it's good". I could have guessed that myself.
Fortunately I caught my mock duck looking eerily much like the dead duck of one of my friends. Hard time reaching a server about this (who sighed before moving over) she took away the wrong plate (that of my friend) and returned later to pick up mine and return theirs. The kitchen would remake it.
(Mistakes can happen, of course: but what if I was allergic? This lack of care is shocking.)
It arrived when my friends had nearly finished. I hadn't gone for an appetiser, planning to go for a dessert, but my friends had, so I was quite hungry at that point.
We were all disappointed by the quality and service, so we didn't stay for dessert.

Service - good service, it happened they served the wrong drink but overall no problem.
Location - just outside the busiest part of Utrecht so relaxt and nice. Hard to park the car though.

If I could give more stars I would! The food was absolutely exquisite and bursting with flavours. We had the escargot and garlic prawns for starters which were both to die for (sorry ducks we didn't even leave a bread crumb for you) and the signature steak and liver for mains which was the best food we had on our trip through central Europe. We were lucky to have a seat right at the canal, the waiter was lovely, the wine and all other drinks delicious, all in all the whole experience couldn't have been more perfect. Such a shame that it was our last night in Utrecht, we would love to come back.

Great restaurant with awesome service. The atmosphere is calm and intimate. The food is excellent and they accommodate gluten free guests even having the gluten free options marked on the menu. We got the pate as a starter which was super good
Nice food, really friendly personnel and exceptional ambience. Being right next to the Oudegracht definitely has its perks.
The snails are an okay one-time tryout. Duck breast was juicy, so was the lamb, and the kip sate was really well done. The desserts were the highlight. Highly recommend the tiramisu, mousse, and the cocounut-lemon cake.

Always a pleasure dining here. The restaurant is situated in a wharf cellar by the Oudegracht in Utrecht. During nice weather you can dine at the edge of the canal which I really enjoy. However on this occasion we sat inside which is charming. The staff at this restaurant are fantastic; very customer-friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable.

I really enjoyed the food but I can't attest if it was safe for celiacs. I had some aches the next day and I didn't get a very safe feeling from the waitress. She would roll her eyes after every question about my dietary needs (gluten-free, lactose-free, onion-free, garlic-free). She didn't show a lot of understanding and empathy. Maybe she was busy or stressed. I wouldn't suggest you shouldn't go there given there are other good reviews. However, I would suggest talking with another waiter if yours acts like mine.

This establishment, known as the creperie De Pannekoekenbakker Maarsseveense Plassen, is adored by many for its proximity to the beach and large trampolines that attract children. The little ones can showcase their jumping abilities and keep themselves occupied with coloring pictures while awaiting their meals. Furthermore, there is a dedicated kids corner where they can engage in playtime.

One of my kids’ favoriet place to go. They have a kids club where every kid can sign up for free. It comes with a wallet, a membership card, and some coins. Every kids pancake you order with kids membership card gets extra coins I believe. Inside the restaurant they have a small gift shop where kids can then exchange these coins for some gifts of their choice. They have a big selection of toys, and for sure that’s why my kids love to come back here again and again.
They always enjoy Pirate/Princess pancake, looking amazing I have to say, and comes with kinderijsje. The range of choice for adults also very wide, whatever you can think of they could put in on their pancakes. Also vegen & gluten-free pancakes for the ones who needs extra care.
The price is not necessary low, with dessert & drinks included. Would be nice if they offer tap water as an option. For high end restaurant I could understand they don’t do that, but for a more kids oriented restaurant as long as everyone already order drinks, they can offer tap water.
Upstairs there is a play area for the little ones, and their outdoor area has two trampolines with lake view.
We love this place. My kids love it cause it is close to the beach and has huge trampolines. They can show off there jumping skills. They also have colouring pictures which also keeps the kids busy as they wait for food. In addition they have a kids corner where kids can also go and play. But the highlight is the fact that they get to pick a surprise present after the meal using chips. The restaurant personalises it by making kids members and on their birthdays they get 25 chips to pick a present they like.
As for my husband and I we like the sfeer. Positive waiters and environment.
Pannekoek is nice, nice texture, but the female staffs is not very friendly. So I hope the manager or owner will do something with my feedback. After 1 year, staff is still not friendly.

We have come here multiple times and the service is slow but food is always great. This time we had a super bad experience the staff we found was rude. We always pay separate because we normally come 10-15 people. When we have friends visiting from overseas to have the Dutch pancakes. But this time they forced us to pay the bill once but just the way they spoke to us was super rude.

I went for a visit together with my elderly friend and were kindly seated and offered something to drink and the menu. The place is decorated like a kindergarten, which struck me as odd but not wholly out of place. They offer mainly pancakes with a wide selections of toppings, from sugary fruits to complete meals-on-a-pancake. The coffee they serve is great. The cakes not so much. One pancake is priced between 7 and 19 euros.
However, the place was clean and the staff friendly and well... well-staffed. Go here for a coffee or a meal for restaurant-prices.
6/10 will probably visit again, if only for it being the only places to serve a decent coffee in the area.

Looking for a great vegan option while in Utrecht? Check out Bagels & Beans. We ordered the avocado with pesto/sun-dried tomato“cream cheese” on whole wheat bagel, the “Thai Chicken Chili” on whole wheat bagel, and the porridge pleasure. All vegan! The porridge is served with lots of nuts and seeds, dried fruit and cinnamon.
It could use more oats to thicken the mix as we don’t think you should be able to drink porridge. The bagels were both excellent! But, we wish the lettuce served was fresh. Having browned bitter lettuce took away a bit from the flavor.
We definitely can recommend this tasty spot for vegan noms in Utrecht! And we will visit again on our next trip.

We visited Bagels & Beans on a Thursday morning, and were delighted to find the place practically empty, which made for a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were quick to assist us with our orders.
The breakfast bagels were impressive, with a wide variety of healthy options that didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered felt fresh and was prepared with care. We particularly enjoyed the "wild Alaskan salmon and avocado" bagel, which was generously topped with fresh ingredients and had just the right amount of creaminess from the avocado.
The restaurant's location on Mariaplaats, one of the most beautiful squares in Utrecht, is an added bonus. The square hosts the stunning Conservatorium building, making it a lovely spot to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee.

Bagels were good, but we asked for some water to drink. They only had sparkling water in bottles,no more still water, so we asked for tap water. We were served 4 glasses of water, which was warm . We politely said that the water was warm, but they said they could not help it 'cos it was tap water ! When we went down to the toilets to wash our hands, then the water was fresh .. Definitely not a nice policy towards clients , children included ...

Horrible place I asked if I can order just a normal coffee for take away with oat milk because I only had less than 10 minutes as I was waiting for a cab. They said ok and told me to wait outside my cab arrived and they did not know what I wanted , they didn’t understand the normal coffee with just oat milk from the box they thought it had to be steamed. When leaving they did not understand I needed a lid I was not able to enter to cab without a lid and had to throw away the coffee .
This was such a unique experience with a wide variety of bagel options right from the bread to the filling. The coffee and tea were equally delightful but the service was very slow and sometimes the staff forgot our order which led to a delay. But 100% recommend this for the food!
Lovely lunch options there. Some of the indoor sitting are too narrow & too close to each other, not easy to move around, and you could hear the Neighbour table when if they are whispering. Otherwise lovely place for lunch.

They all tastes great, and the blue cheese in their burger is so melty. Makes me wonder how they figured out what to use to mimic the real ones. Service was so lovely, ambience was serene. Super delicious vegetarian food, with actually super good meat replacements! We had the onion rings, corn ribs, poke bowl, caesar bowl, crispy chicken wrap, and truffle burger, and they were very tasty! The homemade ice teas are also very nice and refreshing!
The service however was a bit slow. We waited for 30 minutes for our order to be taken, and when we asked we were told we can also order on the phone. That was easy but we would have appreciated if we were told beforehand. Then we were told they do not have a brioche bun for the truffle burger and that it will take about 20 minutes to make new ones, and we were asked if we would like a normal bun. We were ok with it, but it took more than 20 minutes anyways to bring all the food from that point, and I think they could have just brought the apetizers first and we could have waited for the mains. They brought the apetizers and burger first and then it took a few more minutes to bring the rest.
I think however it might have been just a one time experience as they seemed to be understaffed thwt night. The staff was friendly and thanked us for waiting.
In terms of prices I would say the place is on the pricey side, but considering the quality of the food, I think it is justifiable. Also as a note, the burger does not come with fries.
We made a reservation and I would recommend you to the same, as it was quite packed.
It was one of the first times I tried fully plant-based food, and I can tell you that it tasted delicious! I couldn’t even notice the difference. We had the burgers and a side of plant-based chicken nuggets. Those were also full of flavor and tasted great.
You can order through a QR code, which is convenient, but if you prefer not to, the staff is happy to take your order, they’re super friendly and helpful.
The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I can definitely recommend it if you’re looking to try plant-based food. It’s now officially on my permanent restaurant list!

Very satisfying and healthy food that just so happens to be plant-based! We went here with the Vegan Student Association for a tasting. I tried the Supreme burger, and I think that's the first time I've genuinely enjoyed vegan bacon. The staff is incredibly nice! Will definitely be returning more often. We tried the mushroom and “goat cheese” focaccia, the farinata, the pastel de nata and pistachio filled croissant. All of them were very tasty. I personally had a big crush on the mushroom focaccia. Both sweet pastries were actually rather low on sugar, which is good from a health standpoint but could do with a bit sweeter taste (and with a stronger vanilla flavour for the pastel) in my opinion.
Service is very friendly and informative.
The café is small and has limited seating.

I was just passing by and the interior and name caught my attention. Many options to choose from however, I opted for a Swedish bun to see if it taste good not just look pretty. ( I lived in Sweden, and I had many).

I went here with a friend and arrived first. The staff was super friendly — even though someone without a reservation was sitting at my table, they kindly gave me my reserved spot. The place felt really cozy, and the food was so delicious — all vegan! The little pizza slice was amazing. My friend and I couldn’t stop saying how good everything tasted with every bite, haha. The staff was also really sweet and even used a few signs when they noticed I’m deaf — that was so nice!

The pastries are amazing, would recommend the Danish Pastry, Pastel de Nata and Pistachio Croissant. The Matcha Latte and homemade Iced Tea were also really nice. Very nice interior and atmosphere. It’s kinda weird at first to order at one place and sit at the other, but ended up being really cosy, since you don’t get as much noise.
I love a vegan bakery! This one has a good variety of food. The pistachio croissant was pretty good (I wish it was flakier) and also the „tortilla“ was good.
My cappuccino was a bit watery. The peach latte (I think that’s what it was called) didn’t really taste like anything - it reminded my a bit of a „golden milk“.

We had 3 slices, which were all cold and oily (even tough I was asked and cleary answered that we want them hot), Taste was not more than okay. Also had the homemade pistaccio croissant, which was also okay, but the cream was not evenly distributed at all. All in all pretty disappointing.

Pretty busy pool cafe in the city centre with good vibes. You get a beeper and you can have a drink or snack until it rings ..and then you get a table to play. The service was prompt and we had fun without any issues.
Visited this pool bar with a group of friends and left completely disappointed. We were a group of 7 people and wanted to enjoy a game together. Apparently, only 6 people are allowed per pool table — fair enough if that’s the rule — but instead of a polite reminder or any kind of understanding, we were kicked out on the spot. No warning, no flexibility, no basic courtesy.
We weren’t being loud, disturbing anyone, or causing any damage. We were simply having a good time, and yet we were treated like troublemakers for having one extra person watching the game. The staff showed zero hospitality or communication skills. Rather than handling the situation respectfully or finding a solution, they chose to enforce the rule in the rudest way possible.
This kind of treatment completely ruins the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with unfriendly service and arbitrary enforcement of rules with no room for nuance or respect, this is the place. Otherwise, look elsewhere — there are far better venues that value their customers and treat them with a shred of decency.
Won’t be coming back, and I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

Hands down by far the most welcoming and inviting pool hall I have been to. I use to the rambunctious seedy joints of London, so I was a a bit apprehensive about trying out a place in Utrecht but I am glad that I did as now I have a regular place to play. The crowd is friendly and the staff are more than accommodating. A must try for anybody looking to have a nice time 💯
What a lovely place to play pool, watch sports and have some drinks. The crowd is pleasant and bar staff are very welcoming, especially Akki or Aki who seemed to go the extra mile. The bar area in general is clean and the pool table are well maintained witb plenty of option. It can get busy later in the evenings so a short wait is likely. For fun and games then go in the evening, for more serious games of pool, then go early in the day. The prices of snake and drinks are to he expected from a city centre attraction but still reasonably fair. I have experienced far worse. The only downside is in my opinion is that there are only x2 WC cubicles one for men one for woman, so sometimes there is a queue (usually for the men). I would put 4.5 stars rating based on this downside but the option is not possible. So I round it up to 5 because the staff are amazing.
The rules of this place for the pool tables are ridiculous, the people working there were very rude… bad experience and quite expensive for what it is

Nice bar with a good selection of beers and above average service. Unfortunately, the food was average at best. In my opinion, nachos were lacking sour cream and cheese. Rice with shrimps was too greasy and slightly burnt. I only liked how chicken was spiced.
Passion fruit martini was okay considering the price, but didn’t have passion fruit floating on top. Prices are reasonable, especially from Monday till Wednesday when they run special promo.
Overall, I would not recommend the place, but you can still pay it a visit.

I had a brilliant experience at Brothers in Law Tap House tonight! Our waiter, Riyoshi, was incredibly attentive, helpful, and friendly throughout the meal. The burgers were amazing, really tasty and full of flavour, and the chips and salad were spot on as well. Last but not least, the craft beers were incredible!! I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and lovely service!

Booked the wellness room for me and my partner's anniversary. Room felt luxury and spacious, with a comfortable jacuzzi and even a sauna. Unfortunately the view gets kinda ruined by the construction going on outside, but apart from that the location is extremely accessible.
Great location in Utrecht - next to train station, easy walk to the canals or convention center. Nice and simple accommodation, decent breakfast. Hospitality was less than expected and not especially helpful or friendly.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is fantastic—right in the center of the city, which makes everything super convenient. The only downside is the noise from the trains passing right next to the window, but it’s a trade-off for such a central spot.
The food was a highlight! I absolutely loved the Caesar salad I ordered—super tasty. That said, €12 for room service felt a bit steep.
The room itself was cosy and the bedding very comfortable. I also spent some time in the spa area, which had a lovely view. However, the pool was quite cold, and the sauna door didn’t close properly, so the sauna didn’t get as hot as it should.

Despite the location and the promising room the service was quite mediocre. The day we wanted to book was already a tedious work and the lack of communication between us as the client and the workers was not as pleasing. I am not going to call out the workers name since we suspect that they’re new. But we didn’t like that she didnt tell us the checking out time, we though like every other hotel we been in that at 12.00 we had to check out but it wasn’t the case.. even on booking.com we read that it was at 12.00..we were charged €15 extra for 30 mins since they told us to leave at 11.00.. odd

Once a month they organize a cocktail workshop, which is very highly recommended. Very fun to do for couples or groups of friends.

Mr. Finch may be the best place for cocktails in Utrecht at the moment. The staff is very helpful and fun, loved how the bartender was chatting with us while preparing the cocktails. The bites are delicious too but the cocktails are the main stars of the show. I really liked how for one of the cocktails we ordered you could choose in which “fun glass” you’d prefer your drink in, the personalization added a really exciting touch to the experience. The menu offers lots of unique beverages to choose from alongside the classics.
I like heater which keeping us warm while sitting outside. Service is good. Food is ok, I’m disappointed with calamari which is not nice at all cos it’s different squid and hard, but we finished it anyway.

The best cocktails in Utrecht! My test for any bar is whether they can make a good Old Fashioned, and Mr Finch's was one of the best I've ever had. Their focus is on drinks of excellent flavor with a small menu of food selections to accompany. The atmosphere is refined but not stuffy.
2nd visit June 2025: A great visit once again! Fabulous cocktails and great service continue.
1st visit September 2023: It was the luck of the Irish that we found this great cocktail bar, and then went back a second time! Fabulous cocktails! Can't say that enough. Great staff, so friendly and super professional. Highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting again when in Utrecht.

An incredibly cozy and pleasant bakery in the center of Utrecht. We stopped for breakfast, where we tried everything from scones to cinnamon rolls, banana bread, or carrot cake. Everything was wonderful. The banana and carrot delicacies were really moist, and the scone had a truly cheesy flavor. The service was also incredibly friendly and warm. And of course, I can't miss mentioning what is maybe the biggest highlight, which is the coffee, perfectly sour, yet very smooth and rich in flavor. For us, it was a perfect morning, and we're grateful for it!
KEEK is a must when in Utrecht! Try their two most popular baked goods - cinnamon roll and the KEEK scone. The scone is worthy of praise - moist, not too sweet and delightfully filling without being too dense. The cinnamon roll was similarly pleasant though the scone was more memorable for this reviewer. I’d return in a heartbeat to have both again and to try even more.

Lovely place with unique cellar that is cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately, very limited teas were available and the service was a bit lacking. We did sit for 2.5 hours and enjoyed our High Tea, but could have used a check in for more tea or even water. Quiche was extra special. Scones really nice. Sandwiches were a bit uninspired. Too many bread layers, would prefer more traditional savory sandwiches and variety.

But she never served it to us so we just thought she forgot it so we were trying to make an eye contact to remind her. However, I found that she was ignoring us on purpose though she looked at me, still not giving us the second scone. So we just left to pay for what we had but there were two scones and an extra cost in the bill even though we only got served 1 scone. We couldn’t even know where the extra cost came from so we told another staff everything and she brought the staff who ignored us to figure out. At the moment, she kept insisting that she gave us the second scone, which made us so mad and we felt it as racism obviously. She also even said that ‘what would you want me to do?’, ‘what is the solution you want?’ without any apology. Eventually, she fixed the bill correctly after an argument but we all know that she was not supposed to treat customers like that. What a disrespect treatment and she is a ridiculous racist.
Food was tasty and the place was cute (has lots of extra seating underground, super cozy). The staff was nice but we had to constantly get up to find one of them if we wanted to order something more, I guess the disposition of the place is kind of like a maze so hard for them to see all tables at the same time.
Lovely place for a meal, their cakes looked delicious but sadly I couldn't eat any more after such a fulfilling meal! They have a "meal deal" with soup, quiche, and salad that was really good. Nice, cozy place downstairs with a view to the Canal. Friendly service.
I loved Bakkerswinkel! The servece is great, and the staff is very kind. They have different menus during the day, on for the morning and other for the afternoon. I went there at 11 am of saturday and ate the bread breakfast. In my opinion, this can serve two people, because came a lot of food. The price was around 18 euros. It came 2 slices of bread and one slice of brioche, 1 croissant, cheese, ham and Jam. The breakfast include a hot drink (coffee or tea) and a Orange Juice. My friend ordered the french toast. In a nother visit I ate a delicious cake and drink a tea. I didn't eat the apple tarte yet, but I am going to try on in my next visit, for sure. The atmosphere is cozy and cute. It is a good place to go with girlfriends, family or on a day date, why not?

I will only share my opinion about the place in general. I went there and had to wait very long for the staff to come and get my order. Also, the table I sat had some dirty plates and glasses when I got there. For more than 15 minutes, I waited there for them to do something about it. Unfortunately they didn't. The coffee and yoghurt looked delicious. I was so excited to taste it but maybe next time. I hope they hire more people cause it seems like it's a busy and attractive place. So there will be more people needed.
We booked tables here with my friends because of the children's corner. We assumed that it was a family friendly place. Unfortunately, the staff was quite unfriendly and we were treated as if we had not been consuming anything. I was told at least 3 times to sit down while I was carrying my son on me. The waitresses could have had enough space to serve others but we were told many times to sit down (most of us were sitting but I could not when I was carrying my son on me). When some friends just arrived with their baby and we greeted them, 5 seconds later they were told as well to sit down. Awful experience, none of us will return here and if you are a foreigner with kids visiting Utrecht, just look for another place. Plus, we were called back after quite some time because not all the consumption was paid but it could have been nicer if they had checked that before everybody left. Anyway, it is a pity because everything was delicious.
Not a fan of YB changing the menu and making everything vegan. It still looks great, but the taste is definitely not the same. Overnight oats were super sour, almond milk can go bad too..

Timing: it took 35 min to receive the order in our table. I think it's too long for 3 drinks and 2 pre-made cakes.
Temperature: the drinks (coffee and chocolate milks) were not hot.
Sizes: the portions are way too small.
Most important: it's a chocolate specialized place but out of 10 cakes they sell, only 1 is chocolate flavor. It doesn't make sense to me.
Overall good place, but I wouldn't return.
The café is so cozy, perfect for studying or meeting a friend. Everything on the menu is delicious, including the drinks, pastries, ice cream and tostis. The staff are also always polite, ready to help and helpful.

The establishment has been serving delicious ice cream since 1971 and has expanded to include an ice cream truck across from the original parlor. Customers praise the tasty and reasonably priced smallish kugels of ice cream, with flavors ranging from traditional to unique, such as raspberry mint and hazelnut with caramel.
The Venezia kiosk on the Oudegracht is a landmark in Utrecht, and the go-to destination for gelato lovers. It's the place I come to - more than once - every time I visit Utrecht!
With so many tempting varieties on offer, the two biggest challenges are which ones to pick, and how to limit yourself to 2 or 3 scoops!
Two of my favourites are mirtillo (blueberries) and Vrede van Utrecht (cherry ice cream with amarena cherries and dark chocolate chips).

Tasty Ice Cream, Smallish Kugels - This is a really tasty ice cream. The prices are reasonable, though the ice cream balls are on a small side. They don’t seem to go out of their way with the fancy display of the ice cream, compare to other places, but it is delicious. They do take credit cards as well as cash. Later in the evening, they close down their café, but the ice cream window stays open until 9 pm during the week.

It is sooo sweet. I ordered 4 in total (1 donut, 1 brownie, 2 cookies) and they’re all soo sweet. If you don’t like sweetness this might not be a nice option for you. But there’re various things to choose which kinda nice but I couldn’t see anything that might not be too sweet. Also, the staffs in the shop weren’t wearing a mask on properly at all during the epidemic which is so risky for the customers.
The worst part is that both me and my boyfriend have got diarrhea after having this yesterday.
For €2, the ice cream is good! However you only get to sample up to 3 flavours.
Note that the lemon meringue flavour is very sweet, while the other one is more sour.

Most of the reviews are relatable. Ice cream is ok but it’s a crime to ask a question about the ice cream. The lady reacted like you ask her for an organ when you ask something about the ice cream. She was also so impatient with us, there’s over 20 flavours and it takes time to chose one, but she said in a rude way “can I help you?” implying she was tired of waiting for us.
An ice cream shop is supposed to be a pleasant experience and environment. Don’t serve a sweet treat with such a bitter attitude.
The ice cream was okay, but the service left a lot to be desired. A bit of friendliness goes a long way in customer service: when I asked the lady a simple question, I was met with a heavy sigh. If you're not able to greet customers with a smile, this might not be the right line of work.
We arrived well before closing time, but the owner refused to scoop mango ice cream, even though the tub was clearly still in the display with just a piece of paper covering it. We were planning to buy several cones, most of them with mango, but ended up going elsewhere. The way she told us, “Tomorrow is another day,” was incredibly dismissive. Very poor service.

Disappointing Experience with the Owner
We came in about 20 minutes before closing to get mango ice cream, which had just been refilled. The owner was already packing up and, to our surprise, told us (rather abruptly) that we couldn’t have any because “there’s a paper sheet covering it” and we should “come back tomorrow” complete with eye rolls and an unpleasant tone.
There was no need for that kind of attitude. We were polite and well within business hours. It left us feeling unwelcome and quite disappointed. If customers aren’t going to be served, perhaps just lock the door instead of treating people so poorly.
The ice cream is very good and the Tiramisu is EXCELLENT. If you stop by try the tiramisu they have. I never saw anything rude from the owner or the staff.
The ice cream was pretty chill, not too sweet, but just okay overall.

Found this place based on good reviews with the 'have to eat' pictures! I had a great experience. It's located on a nice square where you can see Utrecht come to life on a sunday under the shade of a big tree. They have a great cappuccino! We had the breakfast banger, a savory roll full of everything. Def 5 stars! And we had a tuna melt that tasted great but crumbled a bit. And I had the Cuban grilled sandwich, which was a bit dry but tasty. I will for sure visite again and marked as favourite, because their menu calls for it! These People are realy noticably in to their shop, quality of their food and originality of their menu. Try the Hot sauce if you dare ;-)
Ah man!!! By far the greatest toasted sandwiches I have ever had. We had the spicy chicken and cheese and my kids had cheese sandwiches. It’s phenomenal and the guys serve you outside in case you want to chill under a tree.
Best tuna melt ever. Super friendly staff and as most sandwiches are around €10, it’s very good value for money. I couldn’t recommend it more.
THIS PLACE! Wow. Came here for breakfast a few days ago, and got the Pollo Loco, the Breakfast Banger, and some coffees. Everything was extremelyyyy delicious and so fresh. It was all so delicious, in fact, we returned the next day to get some churros :) which were somehow equally delicious! Can't wait to try out their new brunch cafe when it opens in the Spring. A really cozy place with excellent food and good coffee. The staff were really friendly and helpful as they helped us with a "deconstructed" version of their Breakfast Banger to accommodate the needs of one of my friends. It was amazing! I had both the chicken & cheese sandwich, and the dark chocolate churros. Both delicious, and both big portions. The sandwich I took back to my Airbnb, and they must have used a panini presser because the shredded chicken breast was warm and Dutch cheese gooey. The churros were made fresh after I ordered. I will admit it's messy, but worth the decadence. Niamh, a grad student, took the time to explain the menu and was super sweet. Tom and Denzel, both eye candy, were the sandwich chefs and were exceptional. Overall two enthusiastic thumbs up!

The icecream we had was really good and they have some fun flavours! I think it was 6,50 for 2 icecreams with 2 scoops each, which I think is perfectly fine.
I had yoghurt-lavender which was interesting. Not amazing, especially combined with an oreo scoop, but interesting. A huge butterfly in the park seemed to LOVE the smell of the lavender because it kept swirling around and even sat on my icecream. Never seen a butterfly that energetic and determined to come near a human. Kinda scary so u are warned.

The staff helped me and my friend quickly. We didn't have to wait long, but that has a downside as well.
You can see their flavours through the glass display, however you can only see that when you are in front of the line meaning that you can't choose what flavours you would like while you are waiting in line.
They have a lot of choice so if the customer has to choose while they are ordering I can see how sometimes massive lines are created.
The Ice-cream is delicious. I definitely recommend to try ice-cream at this place.
My advice would be to provide a menu/choice card that customers can see even while waiting in line.
I usually like Swirl but staff here was so incredibly slow.

Service is really, really friendly and quick!
After reading the Google reviews about Pistacchio, I tried 3 of their flavours: Let's Pop on a cone and Pistachio + Quella in a cup! All 3 scoops were really generous!!
Texture-wise:
The textures of all ice cream flavours were really good: soooo smooth! However, Let's Pop and Quella were a bit on the soft/light side, and melted quite quickly (even though it was <15degreesC outside)
The Pistachio ice cream was more dense, and did not melt as quickly as the Quella scoop did! (As I ordered Pistachio + Quella in a cup, and Quella was on the bottom of my cup, halve of my Quella-scoop was already melted once I finished my Pistachio scoop).
The cone was really crunchy and did not become soggy at all! It remained very crunchy till my last bite, which I truly enjoyed!
Flavour-wise:
Let's Pop: This was by far the best ice cream of the 3 scoops I got! Also, one of the best ice cream I tasted in my life!
It had such a unique pleasant sweetness, with a big chunk of delicious milk chocolate coating! I would definitely come back for this flavour!
Pistachio: Not a really outspoken, intens pistachio-flavour, I have had better in my life!
Quella: A bit of a chemical taste.. However, I really liked the swirls of caramel sauce!
Cone: perfectly sweet!
Overall, a lovely ice cream shop in the centre of Utrecht! I would really recommend to try the Let's Pop-ice cream in a cone! It truly was the best!

Amazing ice cream and a beautiful location! 😋 The flavors were incredibly creamy and rich, I got stracciatella and Dubai chocolate, and the combo was perfect. Even more, everyone in our group picked different flavors, and we all loved what we got!
As for trying different flavors before buying: when we asked, they let us try one flavor each. Not sure if that’s the policy of it was just near closing time and not too busy. It might be different when the place is crowded.
Also, one thing to note: we had to pay with cash, as none of our cards worked - a first for us in the Netherlands! Since you pay after getting your ice cream, that could have turned into a pretty awkward situation, so I really recommend to have some cash on yourself

The lady in the cashier just did not let us to taste other flavours stating that it is a busy hour and all this happened while people next to us in the line tasting their options one by one. So you have to guess the taste before buying and I did not like the taste and do not recommend this place.

What I did not like is that they show certain prices for gelato but then charge you 50 cents extra to have it in a regular cone instead of a cup, most gelato shops in the Netherlands don't do this and I find it to be a bad practice as it's a very sneaky way to make customers pay more than they expect.

Even though Toetje specializes in desserts, their drink menu is surprisingly diverse, interesting, and delicious. We tried both the hot matcha latte and the cold matcha latte with strawberries, both were pretty good for not matcha-focused place.
Then came the cakes. Toetje’s signature dessert is something I’d describe as a cross between a muffin and a cheesecake — taking the best from both worlds: the rich cream cheese flavor of cheesecake and the fluffy, satisfying bite of a muffin. We tried the orange and chocolate versions, and loved them both.
At the moment, cakes are priced at €7.50 and matcha-based drinks at around €6. Yes, it’s pricier than average, but absolutely worth every cent.
The café has a cozy indoor seating area and outdoor tables. If you choose to sit outside later in the day, be aware that the sun might shine directly into your eyes — so you might prefer the indoors for maximum comfort.
