The Village Rest Luss is a charming casual restaurant and cafe that serves seasonal Scottish cuisine from morning to evening. Established in 1705, it has become one of the most famous pubs in Scotland, offering a trip to the past with its Highland welcome and diverse drink selection. Located on Pier Road Alderdale Cottage in Luss, within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, it provides a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy homely food with efficient service.
I visited this place for lunch with my family, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely great every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The steak pie stood out the most: rich, hearty, and packed with delicious flavour. The burgers were equally impressive, juicy and well seasoned, and my brother couldn’t stop raving about his fish and chips crispy on the outside and tender inside. Adding to our amazing food experience theservice was impressively fast, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout our meal. The cosy atmosphere of the place added to the charm. We’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
SAIRUS — Google review
We came here as a group of 8 and had a wonderful meal. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
M M — Google review
We visited this homely restaurant with a group of three. The staff was friendly, but the wait time was quite long. We were told it would be 10 minutes, but it ended up being much longer. We tried their F&C (Haddock) and Cod Fish wrap. The food was average, but the wrap had little cod fish filling. Considering the location, it’s a reasonable place for lunch if you’re visiting.
Y T — Google review
Visiting here to eat was a welcome respite from the rain and being dog friendly was a huge bonus. The menu was much better than most places in the area for those that don't eat meat & fish, so that is an additional bonus here. The staff, whilst clearly busy, were efficient and friendly and the food served quite promptly. Absolutely worth visiting!
Gregory H — Google review
Excellent food, staff and atmosphere. Pricier than in the city but it’s a touristy area. Really like this place. Clean and efficient too. Nice staff. They even have doggie menu.
KH — Google review
Ate there with me family. It right along the trail and the food is great. We were all really impressed. The service was also great. They allow dogs which is also fun but made us miss our own dog back home. I highly recommend this great spot.

The Village Rest in Luss is such a lovely spot! The food is delicious, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the whole place has a cozy village charm. There’s a nice picnic table outside where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings — perfect on a sunny day. A must-visit if you’re exploring Luss or stopping by Loch Lomond!

Dog friendly cafe with great food and attentive staff! Highly recommend. The lentil and bacon soup was spot on! Also the fish wrap was tip top.

Auchentullich Farm Shop is a hidden gem offering a wide range of local produce and unique treats. Visitors rave about the 'Coo to Cone' ice cream, made fresh daily and available only at this farm shop. The shop features an impressive selection of items, from fresh salmon and microbrewery beers to Scottish gins and whiskeys. As a working farm, Auchentullich offers an authentic experience with its incredible meat section and flat whites made with milk from the farm.
Loved it! A proper farm shop. Pricey, but nice to support local businesses. They have coffee & ice cream as well as other bits and bobs. A nice pit stop for some odds & ends, or if you are like me & love a farm shop, it’s great for a browse to pick up some local produce.
Lou G — Google review
Ice cream is a hit or miss but once you find a flavour you like- in my case it was millionaire shortbread, then it’s impossible to stop. Bounty flavour is also decent. Expected more from the fruit flavours but they taste artificial which is a surprise. Ice cream comes at a fair price comparable to the quality and considering it’s made onsite by the milk from their own cows. Even the chocolate cone alone is bloody good. Otherwise, a lovely selection of good quality, whole food products too but anything chocolate was for me heaven there.
Kuba O — Google review
Stopped in twice during our honeymoon and the ice cream was amazing 🤩 Love how the flavours change every day. The chocolate cone was absolutely lovely too! Lovely little shop to pick up some milk, bread and other goodies too. Seeing the Highland cattle is always nice too ❤️
Natasha P — Google review
Absolutely fantastic ice cream - best in Loch Lomond by far. Interesting and natural tasting flavours made with fresh milk from their own cows. Friendly staff with a good selection of fresh produce and supplies. A perfect little farm shop by the A82
J C — Google review
Nice farm shop with variety of items, we bought the kids the animal shaped cookies (cow, horse, unicorn) and they were delicious. Nice seating area outside with cows in the field next to it. The ice creams looked delicious
AMR — Google review
We had a very good time here during this trip. The bedrooms are all cozy and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and functional, and we all loved hanging out in the spacious living room. Due to the weather condition we didn’t have a chance to use the hot tub this time, hope we have a chance to visit here again and enjoy it!
Tsung-yang K — Google review
Came here for the ice cream, but sadly due to a recent power cut, there was no ice cream available. But the items on sale did look nice and we ended up buying some bits and bobs, their own fresh milk and the bread were stand out highlights for me
Mark M — Google review
Adorable little farm shop to check out while on your way into the Scottish Highlands! They have a variety of snacks and goodies, plus you'll even see some cute cows grazing in the field nearby. There are no toilets for public use, however.

Bakery
Mhor Bread & Store is a charming artisan bakery located in a nostalgic street, offering simple and delicious feel-good food. The bakery boasts an enticing display of sourdough loaves, Mediterranean tear-and-share bread, meringues, doughnuts, tarts, sausage rolls, and pies. It's popular among locals but can get crowded during peak times. The tearoom provides excellent vegetarian and vegan options.
Tucked into the charming town of Callander, Mhor Bread & Store is the kind of bakery that makes you wish your tour bus had a flat tire—just so you’d have more time to linger. From the moment we stepped inside, the scent of fresh-baked pastries and savory pies wrapped around us like a cozy tartan blanket. The steak and haggis pie, a bold beautiful bite of Scotland, and the sausage rolls looked like a flaky perfection. But the real showstopper? The meringue cookies—towering, cloud-like confections that looked like they’d been whipped up by a pastry wizard with a sweet tooth and a sense of humor. Everything we tried (and ogled) appeared fresh, high-quality, and made with care. The selection was impressive, balancing hearty savory options with indulgent sweets. The staff were friendly and relaxed, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a neighborhood gathering spot than a tourist stop. My wife ordered a sandwich to take away for lunch later on our tour, and it was so good it became the unofficial mascot of our trip. She’s mentioned it multiple times since we got home—proof that Mhor Bread doesn’t just feed you, it leaves a delicious imprint on your travel memories. If you're passing through, do yourself a favor: grab a pie, snag a sweet, and let Mhor Bread be the bite-sized highlight of your Highland adventure.
Lonnie P — Google review
Ah I could easily over indulge here. The filled rolls, pies etc looked amazing. The sweet treats omg looked fantastic and some great artisan Produce too. The roast beef sandwich was fab. Crunchy and soft. The beef plentiful. Coffee made well, we sat in but my only gripe was everything is served to go. And coffee is never as good in a takeaway cup compared with a decent cup. We arrived at lunch time and although there was a queue it did go down quickly and there was still plenty on offer. Well worth a visit! Scored down atmosphere as it was communal seats and served as take out.
Ryan S — Google review
We were visiting this area and wanted a quick lunch. This place was rated well. It was busy and they had a small area for dining. Luckily, we were able to seat. The pastries were reasonably priced & delicious.

Or is got to be one of Callenders Wee Gems! Food, Bread, Filled Rolls, Bread dips, Cakes & Coffee was absolutely amazing!!! Rolls packed with fillings!!! So many choices in this Shop I couldn’t decide!! Spent a fair bit though! Well worth travelling through from Dundee to there for a treat!!! Definitely recommend and going back!!
Noreen A — Google review
This so call the “best bakery in Scotland” it really lives up to its reputation I never have Honey Mustard chips in UK but I got one at there! Love it! Hope visit there soon!
Ka M — Google review
Great bakery. Plenty choice of filled sandwiches(lot of feeling like pulled pork, shredded chicken, egg mayo) Pies and sweets. Eat takeaway or sit in. Great atmosphere of local produce of cheese and infused oils to buy as well. Be aware of the long queues, but waiting time is satisfying. Best place in Callander.
Marcin L — Google review
Omg amazing cakes, sandwiches and coffee.people have marked it down for the communal seating and everything being takeaway but it is in Callander and most customers are groups of hikers so it does it's job. I absolutely love it.

St Mocha Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlour is a charming spot located next to the Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha, offering a variety of treats for visitors. Despite its name, the cozy coffee shop also serves excellent tea. In addition to their specialty coffees and homemade ice cream, they offer delicious milkshakes and delightful cakes.
Food was great. We are here after taking a ferry and had a great meal. My wife and I had the chicken and leek pie, my oldest has the margarita pizza (cheese pizza in the US), and my youngest has the chicken burger. Everything waa delicious. The decor is also really rustic and fun. Great place.
Michael W — Google review
Such a small and busy coffee shop, but totally worth it! There’s not much space inside, but the smell alone is amazing pure coffee heaven. Definitely one of the best coffees around Loch Lomond. Perfect stop for a warm, rich cup of joy! And also nice to sit outside!
Marta K — Google review
I’ve visited this place a few times and absolutely love it. The set up is super cosy so it’s especially nice if visiting in Autumn/Winter. The decor is lovely - it’s quaint and cosy and very homely. There are quite a few tables inside with benches outside too. The food is lovely - I’d especially recommend the pies. There are plenty of choices for drinks but my personal favourite is the coffee, one of the nicest I’ve tried. The staff are so nice and helpful and very welcoming. I purchased one of their candles on my last visit and I’m glad I did as it’s a beautiful scent and it lasts for hours. St Mocha is the most perfect little place to stop off - it’s why I keep returning each year!
Kristina H — Google review
Hi, put it simple, this was the best pie i had i my life. Do not hesitate to pop in, and treat yourself. You will not regret. On top of that, the girl that was serving, OMG, if i would not look that miserable that day, i would ask her for a date. Missed opportunity :( i hope next time i will come she will still be there and she will hopefully be single :) <3

I came to buy a coffee before walk to the trail and the coffee was delicious which I decided to back for another one on the way to car. The atmosphere is great staff friendly and helpful. This place looks very busy because of location, next to big carpark.

Got a vanilla flat white which was a bit too sweet for me, but the coffee itself was nice! Got a malteser slice which was lovelyyyy. I didn’t try the ice cream so I’ll have to come back and see how that is!! The service was lovely even tho it was very busy!!!

Heavenly Desserts in Glasgow, Sauchiehall Street is an upscale dessert cafe that offers a variety of delectable treats such as creative waffles, chocolate fondue, and ice-cream sundaes. Customers rave about the perfectly crisp waffles with rich chocolate sauce and delicious gelato, complemented by fresh and sweet strawberries. The menu is extensive, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance is stunning.
Came here today for a birthday and had such a fabulous time. All the desserts we ordered were exquisite. I would definitely come back again, especially as their menu is changing soon! Thank you for making our day today Mandeep!
Hannah G — Google review
Nice atmosphere and beautiful restaurant, big menu, but deserts are very average, nothing special. Crepes and rolls didn't taste too great. Ice cream was fine. But for high prices they have, it's not worth it.
S.E. — Google review
Mandeep was lovely and very attentive. Atmosphere great, very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Coffee really good too. A few items unavailable on breakfast menu so vegan options limited. Food came out cold/room temp unfortunately, but tasted OK. Quality of food didn’t reflect price. £39 for 2 breakfasts and coffees and still left feeling a bit hungry. Wouldn’t rush back.
Hannah M — Google review
Ambience was nice and big. This place is located near Primark. The staff was good. Menu had many great options to choose from. The pistachio iced Spanish Latte was delicious. I highly recommend going to this place and try something.
Swati M — Google review
I will start with the positive, my husband ordered the banana sundae and really enjoyed it. I ordered the fudge and although it looked good, in reality I got a really dry piece of chocolate cake covered in chocolate sause, which is way below the expectations, price and rating of such place. They warmed it up possibly in the microwave and it dried out, and also got cold while they made my partners dessert. Big disappointment. Edit: one star because the responses are generated with AI with no actual intention to improve.

If you are looking to sink your sweet tooth into the ultimate indulgences, this is it. Heavenly is the perfect word to describe your experience here. The food, beverage, and atmosphere are delightful to all of your senses. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to indulging here again. Recommend you try their ruby chocolate. If you enjoy coffee, their iced Spanish latte is an experience!
Kristina L — Google review
As someone with a sweet tooth I did enjoy the desserts here (however they are a bit overpriced), but I found the saffron latte expensive and unpleasant. I do have to say that the (now closed) store in silverburn was much better than the one on sauchiehall street as the forceful manner in which the worker (on sauchiehall street) asked my friend and I to write a good review for her made both of us quite uncomfortable (she told us her name - unfortunately I can't even remember it now - and kept staring at us while we were made to scan the QR code on the receipt). I'm giving this store an extra star just because the silverburn store is no longer available to write a review for.

Room for Dessert offers a traditional treat called Clootie Dumplings, which are typically steamed in a cloth but can be prepared using an alternative method. For those who prefer the authentic experience, adding sealed coins to the dumpling is suggested for an extra surprise. Despite experiencing electrical issues that caused delays, customers appreciate the fast delivery and delicious desserts from this go-to dessert shop.
We got a delivery and this is so amazingly good, we got the family share box 1 and two ice cream sundae’s. My husband desperately wanted to try the Dubai chocolate which he got too. All was truly amazing this will be our new place highly recommend.
The T — Google review
Shocking customer service, inaccurate delivery times, and when you call they either don’t answer, or seemingly don’t care that you are a unsatisfied customer. Definitely won’t be ordering from here again, been waiting over and hour after ETA and still no sign of order, called their shop at least 7 times and it has just rang out to the point it disconnected.
Nadeem H — Google review
Ive ordered from here a few times now using just eat and uber eats (when I've no change for a tip). Order times aren't always accurate but I know that both these platforms give limited options for times. My food is always as I would like it, hot food hot and ice creams and shakes cold and not melting. Orders are correct and service is spot on
Caroline — Google review
Ive ordered from here twice and both times orders have been unsatisfactory and phoned up because not satisfied with food, there is literal rock pebbles in my waffle and the lady said please call back tomorrow and we will attend to you then and the woman was talking to other people in different language which is very disrespectful as we are trying to speak to them and she asked us to repeat ourself 7 times and still didnt understand our problem. Not to mention the waffle was like sponge and the cookie dough was raw, also did not include the right ice creams and also milkshake were not blended properly, and worst of all there was hairs in my fondue box TOTALLY NOT HAPPY. DEFINETLY NOT BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN😡😡😡
Keiran D — Google review
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Staff sneezing into hands and touching food, no gloves on, on phones whilst making food. Do not waste your money here. Crepes were raw, churros are frozen and then heated in oven- not fresh. Staff are beyond rude and the food is absolutely vile and inedible. Pictured below are the churros- the chocolate inside them was burnt & they look more like chicken nuggets. Rotten behaviour
Ruebin G — Google review
We ordered on just eat. Food was very late, when we phoned the restaurant the lady was rude and didn’t give us a delivery time. When the food came, the portions were small and stale for £9 and the ice cream tasted off. Do not recommend.
Amy D — Google review
Kids ordered triple chocolate cookie dough with Vanilla Ice cream, What a rip off , £16.40 including delivery, a flat layer of whatever what it was supposed to be with cheap chocolate sauce, stay well clear of this place, you will be totally disappointed. Going to take time out to visit this shop out of curiosity and find out who thinks they have to knowledge to bake, looks like something a primary school kid would bake and take home to show there parents. 🤮
David J — Google review
The churros were inedible balls of grease, the cookie dough is not dough it’s a hard cookie and we waited 27 minutes for our order.

Excellent fresh fruit and veg at great prices. Buy as little or as much as you need as it's not wrapped in plastic, so less waste and no plastic waste. Their coffee is great too. Haven't tried takeaway food yet.

First delivery tonight and I am really impressed. Top quality, super fresh and delivered to my door. As a keen cook I couldn't recommend more. Great ingredients and much better quality than supermarkets at a reasonable price. I'll be buying more for sure.
Pauline C — Google review
I've been using Inverclyde Home Fresh since the beginning of the first lockdown after a recommendation and have been very happy with everything. Since the shop opened in Gourock I generally go at least once a week. Very rarely go near the supermarkets for fruit and veg anymore as the quality and price with Inverclyde Home Fresh is perfect. Also picked up lunch baguettes which are great.

First time using this service today after seeing a delivery last week to my neighbour. Very pleased with the produce all very fresh and well packed and reasonable prices. Would recommend and use again.

Last night was launch party with free dessert ..they did not disappoint! The queues outside were huge but people waited eager to try the new desserts. The place was absolutely buzzing, can't wait to come back and try the 40 different varieties of ice cream. The decor in the place is very modern with nice bright lighting. Disabled friendly entrance with toilet facilities and baby changing. This place is truly family friendly. Hot and cold drinks can also be ordered.🍨🍦

Ordered online got to the shop to be told they don't sell pancakes but could make a milkshake advised they advertised a full menu. Was told that it was a scam site and nothing to do with them however roughly two minutes after leaving shop I was emailed to say order was cancelled. Would have been better if they were honest and admitted they had ran out of the ingredients to make my order. Awful experience and wasted journey.

Oh My Days Desserts is a delightful haven for dessert lovers, nestled in the charming surroundings of Stirling. As you embark on your journey through Scottish history and the breathtaking Trossachs National Park, make sure to stop by this sweet spot. The menu boasts an impressive selection of desserts and milkshakes that are simply irresistible. While it's wise to communicate any dietary preferences clearly, the staff here are known for their warm hospitality and attentiveness.
Delicious deserts, friendly staff. Great place to take kids for a sweet treat

Staff are brilliant and the menu of what's available is pretty epic. It's a great compliment to the takeaway next door. Ice creams are fab. I can't comment on other stuff but this is definitely worth a visit!

Achray Farm, located near the Three Lochs drive, is a charming farm offering homemade goats milk ice cream with unique flavors made from local ingredients and fruits foraged from the area. They have friendly goats wandering around and plenty of picnic tables to enjoy their delicious treats. Additionally, they sell vegetable boxes, although it may be empty as a good sign. Despite its rural location, the shop accepts card payments.
Ice green was excellent, I had the mint, which tasted amazing also had Belgium chocolate pieces. Plus had a really good quality cone. The lady who ran the ice cream parlour was very friendly and did a great job. Then went straight back to making more ice cream in the kitchen, what a star. The atmosphere was very relaxed, lovely location, fun being on a farm. Surrounded by the very goats who helped feed us.
David R — Google review
We stopped at the little ice cream place at Achray Farm and it was absolutely delicious🍦The coffee ☕️with oat milk was also really good. We tried a few different ice cream flavours and loved them all. Such a lovely surprise in the middle of this beautiful landscape. Thank you – we cannot wait to visit again next time

Stopped by when leaving the Three Lochs drive. Lovely little farm with friendly goats wandering around and homemade goats milk ice cream for sale. Lovely idea to flavour the ice cream using local ingredients and fruits foraged from the local area. We had raspberry ripple flavour and it was superb! Plenty of picnic tables and benches to enjoy the sweet treats on. There is also a shed selling vegetable boxes - however this was pretty empty when we got there (which is a good sign!). Despite the rural location, card payments are accepted which is helpful. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.
Christian E — Google review
We stopped there on a cycling day and we had REALLY NICE ice cream at the farm! Mint flavour was the winner for us but also blackcurrant. Children loved the goats all around the place 😀 Lovely place for a stop when cycling, walking or even when driving through Brig o’Turk
Anna — Google review
Amazing stop on the three lake forest drive. All environmentally friendly, great coffee and amazing goats-milk ice creams where you can tell is homemade and fresh. Maybe some home made baking would go down a treat as well as an idea to develop and upsell as a takeaway item. Very peaceful. Goats friendly. Great staff
Iain W — Google review
Got ice cream and a coffee from the small kiosk, both were tasty! My son absolutely loved the goats.
Tammi S — Google review
Made a special detour to get some ice cream to take home after a walking trip to Loch Katrine. Sadly it was only cows milk ice cream today and not the normal goats milk but my wife was delighted with the gift when I got home. If your anywhere near the farm stopping by is essentially, this a locally owned and run business that is so worthy of support. The ice cream ain't half bad either. Looks like I will need to schedule another walk around Loch Venechar to make sure I get to enjoy the goats milk ice cream before the end of the season.
Alastair W — Google review
Fantastic place, really friendly, delicious ice cream and sorbet with great flavours. The coffee is very good also. The goats a great treat. Staff very friendly. Stayed in the cottage on the farm very good.

Bakery
Villa Bakery is a delightful gem that truly stands out for its charming atmosphere and friendly staff. Recently, I ordered a lemon sponge cake adorned with a knitting theme for my mother-in-law's birthday, complete with decorative wooden skewers as knitting needles. While the cake was delicious and enjoyed by all, it would have been helpful to know about the skewers beforehand to ensure safety.
They have the best french fancies ever. I get a craving every now and then and send the wife down to pick some up. Prices are also decent

The wedding cake I asked for ( the pretty one) vs what my mum has just sent me a photo off. Isn't chocolate either like I asked for a month ago. Woman tried to blame the young girl saying things weren't wrote down but she called my mum and mentioned the chocolate first and there's a reference photo. We asked fir instead of it being green if it could be light blue and it's white. No yellow in the flowers. Imagine a bakery calling 3 days before your wedding saying they've not got chocolate sponge? You'd imagine they'd bake it wouldn't you. There goes being buzzing about freezing my cake for anniversaries to come and pretty photos, absolute shambles to pass to someone a day before their wedding yous should be ashamed.

I will say the savoury pastries are tasty and the fruit slice is super been eating here since I was a kid just a fab wee bakery they don't compare to my granny but there not far off
LOËN P — Google review
I recently ordered a lemon sponge cake for my mother-in-law’s birthday, which was decorated with a knitting theme. The design included two knitting needles and some yarn balls. Sponge cake was lovely, everyone enjoyed it. However, I was shocked to discover that the knitting needles were made with wooden skewers inside them. This was not communicated to me when I ordered the cake, and I believe this should’ve been said when collecting the cake to prevent any harm. If I hadn’t noticed that in time, someone could’ve bitten into that.

Best bakery I've been in. The staff are very friendly. The prices are the bestest! I go away with a carrier bag full of goodies. The variety of cakes well. Wow. Would recommend this shop to the world . The snowballs by the way are huge 😍

I went into collect the cake my partner had went into place an order for and on arrival the girls behind the counter all had their backs turned and no one even said “hello” I handed over the piece of paper they had given my partner with details of the cake and the remaining cost, they all looked completely puzzled and had to figure out between them what cake they needed to find, ( the cake I came into collect ) eventually the main baker and only one by the looks of things sprung upon me that I had my own topper which we never said we did, therefore she then asked me if I wanted to put the name on it which my partner had asked them to do in the first place of which I agreed, she finally came out with the cake and to my surprise it was the wrong colours! The details were a white and red cake with. Tiktok logo, of which they brought out a white and pink cake….what a bakery, can’t even get the colours correct besides show basic welcoming customer service when you walk in….we won’t be back
Derek P — Google review
Went in to get a hot savoury and was told that they could only do it in the microwave, in my experience they come out soft not crisp like pastries should, the shop actually has a oven thing in the shop specifically for pies etc but don't appear to use it. I still bought a couple of cold pies and sausage rolls and heated them at home and found them tasteless and under seasoned. Front of shop is very small and cramped.

Picked up my granddaughters unicorn birthday cake today absolutely beautiful she will be over the moon with it don't think I want to cut it. I always get my birthday cakes from here and have never been disappointed would highly recommend.
