Pastry shop
Pastelaria Padaria Centeio is a versatile spot in Faro, offering a mix of pastry shop, bakery, cafe, and lunch place. Located just a short walk from the old town, it's favored by both locals and in-the-know tourists for its high-quality pastries and bread. The warm and friendly atmosphere makes it an ideal stop for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Visitors rave about the almond pastry and queque while also praising the excellent Natas and coffee.
This is in the top 10 of the Pastelarias I’ve experienced across Portugal. The pastries are fabulous, especially their Pastel de Nata, which also came in a bite sized version. The deer foot was sweet but delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient and their café and Galao were perfect. It was worth the 10 min walk each morning.
Steve B — Google review
We stopped here for some pastries on a weekday in February. I ordered the pastel de nata, which was okay but didn’t seem to have as much cinnamon or vanilla flavor as others I’ve had in Portugal. We also tried a meringue-based dessert that looked great but ended up being too sweet for us to finish. That being said, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely outstanding, which made the visit a pleasant experience. It’s possible that we simply ordered items that aren’t their specialty. While the pastries didn’t quite meet our expectations, the welcoming atmosphere made it a nice place to stop by.
David P — Google review
Super friendly staff! the pastel was so delicious rich sweet custard and and flaky crust as delicious as the big brand name ones in Lisbon and porto also the cinnamon are on the table so make sure you spot them and sprinkle some on top of your pastel it will definitely make a very delicious difference also the prices are really adorable !

Delicious juice and very tasty pastries. I had the special omelette, which was very well priced but I would not get again just based on preference. Lovely spot and I would recommend if you are in the area. Also had air con- very needed.

Came to this place twice because it was so good :) lovely service even tho it gets hectic on a Sunday morning. They spoke some English which made it a lot easier for me and my Portuguese. Lots of locals come here as well

I'd highly recommend this bakery. The pastel de natas were amazing. Especially the chocolate and pistachio one, it was sensational.

The place is renowned for its delectable pastel de nata, the famous Portuguese custard tarts with irresistibly flaky pastry. Visitors can also enjoy good coffee and a variety of drinks on the sunny terrace while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of Faro.
Nice place to stop for a cake, coffee, tea or a drink in Faro old town, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and very beautiful decorated. We had a gin tonic & glass of wine and enjoined sunny and warm Faro. For gin tonic they serve a variety containing different fruits, tea fragrance making the whole experience tasty and unique, for both we paid 7.5 euros.

Nice place for coffee. Also they make very nice fresh juices. It is located in city centre and also has outdoor seating. Right on the sun. The stuff was nice and friendly. We also tried pastel de nata with ice cream which was very nice and pancakes that were ok.

Love the place! Cozy and tea friendly. Soy milk available. The sweets are not vegan, but they always have toast with traditional bread.

Very happy to have visited this restaurant! The atmosphere is chill and the space -in the old town - is so beautiful! I chose a sunny table to have my coffee. Shrimp curry was amazing, I also like the goat cheese with figs. The service is 5-star and created a pleasurable experience! Thank you! Would visit again!

We went together with our LOFT Community during Acoteia Festival and had a wonderful time. The ambient, the rooftop, the quality of the food and the flavours, the cozyness from the Chef. We loved it!
LOFT N — Google review
Tourist trap, avoid! The wine in the sangria tastes cheap, the food was extremely salty, and the fish in the main was like 5% of the meal as previous comments have identified. Did not appreciate the mixing of smoking and Non-smoking customers, public smoking is banned in the UK for a reason. I'm a foodie and bad food makes me feel bad. It leaves me not wanting to enjoy my night. The staff looked depressed, especially when there is a lovely pub next to you, at least try to make efforts in conversations with customers. Safe go say we won't be returning and will be passing on the message that it's a big trap, avoid it! Plenty of better options to wine and dine in Faro!

Better than expected. Got the octopus with sweet potatoes - it is exstreamly good and a must try. For that dish alone it is worth 5 stars!
Thomas K — Google review
We attended the market to table cooking class and it was the most fun we’ve had! We learnt so much information, and then learnt how to cook a cataplana - a new staple for our meals! Chef was incredible, and it was so lovely to chat to her! Included in this, we had lovely starters and drinks - service is incredible and it’s clear that everyone is very friendly and knowledgable!
Valeria Y — Google review
Food was really tasty and portion was great. Staff was very kind and friendly. Sangria was awesome!!

I visited this restaurant today for a dinner. I ordered grilled seabass with roasted potatoes and salad accompanied by local beer, which was beautifully presented and tasted deliciously. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, and the interior was quite impressive. The service was really good, and the staff was attentive. I can easily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Faro.
Adrian Z — Google review
We attended this restaurant 2/days ago and the meal was brilliant. But unfortunately on return I have to say the service was absolutely terrible,on ordering a bottle of red wine, soup, and a steak for me in which the waiter never even asked how I wanted it cooked,he returned and threw the menu at me and said they had no steak. We just got up and left, the waiter who was a black man was the rudest waiter we have ever come across and has no idea how to treat customers. So we never got to taste any food so that’s why we have not assessed the food.

Costa Algarvia is a popular restaurant known for its delicious and diverse menu. Guests rave about the salted and dried tuna starter, octopus cataplana with sweet potato main course, and the sweet xerem dessert with fig brandy sauce. The exceptional service and friendly staff are frequently mentioned in reviews.
Upon our arrival, we received a basket with bread, butter, garlic dressing and olives! The woman taking our order was helpful and very nice, also patient while our group of 6 were placing orders. The food took some time before it arrived, but it was worth the wait in my opinion. I got the Portuguese style steak, and thought it was very good. Also, I liked that they also give salad, since many Portuguese restaurant don't provide many vegetables in their dishes. The skewers were also good according to the other people in my group. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good and they had seating both inside and outside. It is also placed very central in Faro☺️ Some items like the octopus and piri-piri chicken wasn't on the menu, but was shown on posters on the outside of the restaurant: so just ask the waiters for those dishes!
S.K — Google review
Food advertised outside the restaurant is not accurate to what is served. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a chicken kebab style meal and it was okay but lacked flavour, not really worth the money - looks more appealing then it was Ordered virgin mojitos and they were undrinkable. The glass was half full of cut up lemons and limes and not a mint leaf in sight.
Louise F — Google review
I walked in for dinner because of the piri piri grilled chicken poster in front of the restaurant, which then wasn’t on the menu (lol). the first thing I received was some stale bread, moist crackers and dry olives, with butter in a mini plastic container you would find in any cheap hotel. there was also some unspecified dip. my fault for even touching that, would not make the same mistake again. the service was a bit slow for how empty the place was, but everyone was very nice. I ordered bacalhau à brás and a pastel de nata cake with ice cream. the presentation was a bit retro, but the food was actually good. also got a glass of white port wine, which was lovely. I paid around 38€ including tip, way too much for what I got, but whatever. is this an overpriced tourist trap? definitely. will you still get some decent food? sure. honestly, good for them for getting their coin, we should all know better than walking into restaurants in old town with giant posters of local food by now.
Tomáš B — Google review
Server was friendly and attentive. Owner came to table during our meal to make sure we were happy. Gave complimentary shots at the end. Very nice experience. I would strongly recommend this place. Initially hesitant, previously read bad reviews of this place on trip adviser but found that you can't always believe some reviews...the place was beautiful, the food was good and service was great! 100€ for 4 people we had wine but skipped dessert.
Robert R — Google review
I am allergic to seafood and shellfish, I have told that to the waitress that seem to not be able to understand it, I asked if it was safe, she said yes but did not seem sure of it, only after I insisted for her to see if there was any crossed contamination, she went to check with the chef. I have tried to explain in both English and Portuguese (my mother tongue), and decided to leave the place, as I did not feel safe.
Ruth S — Google review
This place is a pure gastronomic nightmare. I understand that the Portuguese live by the “mañana” attitude, but in gastronomy, that really shouldn’t be the case. We waited a long time to place our order — the staff kept walking by but completely ignored our table. The food was decent, let’s say, but everything else was way below average. The whole place felt chaotic and disorganized. And the final straw was my visit to the ladies’ restroom — the door couldn’t be closed, the toilet paper was lying on the floor, and the sink didn’t work. I do not recommend this place.
Ivana F — Google review
Food and service was fast and delicious.
Elisabete L — Google review
I had the Piri Piri chicken which was under cooked, husband had the salmon which was supposed to be a filet but was really a very thin slice of fish with lots of bones. Would I go back again if I’m in faro? Definitely not!

O Coreto is a charming café known for its homemade pizzas, pasta dishes, and delightful selection of wines. Situated with a lovely view over the marina, it's an ideal spot for a light meal or afternoon snack. The attentive and friendly service adds to the overall experience. While some visitors experienced longer wait times for their orders, many found the delicious food and reasonable prices well worth it.
Fantastic spot to eat. First of all we were greeted by our server and know to a table striaght away. Given good time to choose our drinks and food with the server coming back to check in on us every now and again. once we ordered the food came in good time and was top notch, no complaints from anyone on our table and the portions were really good. Pricing is great, espcially as you are right next to the marina. This place didn't put a foot wrong and made our experience the best it could be

Food is a bit overprice. We ordered the grill Sardine and Octopus. Sardine taste average based on the cost you are paying, Octopus is very mushy which I expect it should be tender. Services are great and the dining atmosphere is great If the quality of food can be improved I am overall happy to pay that price

I had a wonderful experience during my visit! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but what really made the evening special was the service. Our waiter Surendra rawal was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying ourselves. They were quick to notice when we needed something, gave great recommendations, and made us feel truly welcome. It’s rare to find service this good these days. Highly recommend this place, and a big thank-you to our waiter for making our night so enjoyable! Surendra rawal

The restaurant has a good menu and food is delicious. In the menu has cocktails too. Very busy almost every time. It is next to marine. Prices are okay.

FABULOUS everything!! Right by the harbour, we sat down because the mojito looked sooo good and the sunset was approaching - 3 hours later we were still there! The drinks (iced lattes and mojitos) were fresh and fantastic. The sunset was glorious (see photos) and we enjoyed watching the boats return from their sunset tours. The warm breeze got a little cooler so the parasol heaters provided the warmth, and later we snuggled into their fleecy blankets and had a tuna steak salad and veg linguine - both excellent. Thank you to Roshan for great service - attentive and obliging without us feeling rushed at all. Fabulous evening. Photos taken from our table without filter or zoom!
Tracey K — Google review
Visited here several times for drinks and the service was always top-notch. Had food here for lunch on the final day and it was very tasty but just lacking that something special for the five stars (I review a lot of places). Would certainly recommend though, a lovely view of the harbour and always busy and this was in October. The men's toilet could do with a bit a refresh and a brighter light 🤣

The menu features a variety of dishes including the Ria Formosa trilogy, oysters, prawns, brown crab, shellfish xerem, and Ethan Mess dessert.
Nice and friendly staff. The starter bread was awesome. Soft and crunchy as the same time. The stake sandwich was really good. We also tried the Formosa oystera, and the tiger crabs as well. Really good. Oh, and you need to try the Lodo Brut Sparkling wine.

We loved it so much we went back twice! Andie Jeronimo recommended the razor clams to start before the cataplana and an incredible wine - it was all absolutely perfect and we’ll be thinking about that meal for a long time…. Until next time!

Great atmosphere and amazing service from André Jerónimo, Diana, and José. They made my experience even better with perfect wine suggestions to go with the oyster trilogy and the tiger prawn I ordered. The food was outstanding. The best restaurant I went to in Faro. Make sure you try the dressed oysters!
Vinícius Q — Google review
I had cockles yesterday and i m having diaherra since last night. :( the cockles was sandy and one of the osyter didnt taste fresh. I didnt want to write the review as they already waived the water. (But i didnt know diaherra was this bad) Price $30 euros for both. Honestly, i regretted not reading the review properly and i cant believe my hostel recommended it as well…..
Han H — Google review
The oysters at the beginning were quite good — fresh! The the original (natural), definitely worth ordering. Surprisingly, the starter bread was also very good — fragrant and tasty! Unfortunately, they were out of razor clams when we ordered. The scallop and shrimp risotto was quite disappointing — they used cheese in it! The seafood stew was underwhelming overall — the shrimp wasn’t fresh, the clams were poor, and the fish seemed like it might have been pre-packaged. The surf and turf skewer was okay though.

We had our first day in Faro , after checking in in our hotel room we already went to look for a good restaurant. Lodo’s menu caught my eyes immediately and luckily my mom’s too , I went to look at the reviews and saw nothing but positive comments. So without a doubt we made a reservation , luckily it was not too busy that day (at least before 20:00) and there was still a table free. The service was wonderful , every waiter was extremely friendly (Martin stood out to us tho) and me working as an experienced waiter myself I can say that this was top noch service (I could not do it like this). We ordered the triology oysters and they were amazing with a side of bread and olives. Then we had the razor clams with rice and that was a very good filling dish , so there was no room for a dessert. But we made a next reservation for the day after right there , so maybe there will be place in our stomach’s for the desserts today.

Bottle Wine and Food in Faro is a delightful spot that embodies the essence of culinary fusion paired with exquisite wines. This charming establishment invites guests to unwind with a glass of wine or indulge in a thoughtfully crafted meal within its inviting ambiance. The menu features an array of tapas, each dish meticulously prepared to create memorable flavor experiences. Diners rave about unique offerings like cheese paired with pumpkin jam and almonds, as well as standout dishes such as octopus with figs and beef tartare.
First of all: We had a really fine dinner, a good selected wine and a very engaged service, but to be honest: we expected something different when their slogan is „Dine with Comfort and Accessibility“ and „…refined taste and elegance“. It was too crowded (there were even 2 tables with more than 10 persons at once), therefore it was too loud but also the music fitted to this party vibes perfectly with random modern radio pop music. It reminded me more of a better bar without bar counter tables and chairs, instead of a fine dinning restaurant with “elegance”. If their slogan would be something like “more than a stylish tapas bar” I would completely agree. The interior is pretty welcoming and pretty cool, but to calm down, relax and enjoy your quality time with their delicious plates and a good conversation is unfortunately hardly possible with this background noises. But like I said the dishes were made and plated very well and the quality was good all the way. I think they also do a lots of things by their own like the mango-sauce, the gyozas or the breading of the shrimps. That’s really amazing and everybody who love lively spots, good drinks, a attentive service and good food will love it. For me the right place with a nice menu but the wrong conception.
Maria N — Google review
I was here on an accidental stop after sleeping on a train and after seeing a bunch of tourist traps I almost gave up on Faro. Luckily my walking route back to the train station had me pass by Bottle Wine and Food, and the locals eating there brought my curiosity. Even more luckily this place gave me almost no choice in their lunch menu for the day. But it doesn’t need a choice because the dishes were delicious. I chose the “fish and rice” which I learned from friendly neighbors really was the Bacahau a Bras, and my oh my, after the first bite I inhaled the rest and forgot to take a picture. I never would’ve ventured towards that dish if it was not for this place. Atmosphere is great too, has A/C and the patrons at the restaurant were wonderful and sweet as well teaching me about this food. Oh and did I also mention it comes with delicious soup, and a glass of wine?!
Alvin L — Google review
Service was great here and they have a superb natural wine. The owner is very welcoming. The only downside was the food, we tried Duck Gyozas and the cheese pumpkin puffs. They were not tasty, pretty basic and quite expensive for what they were. Would come back for the wine.

Very good food, recommend!! Lovely service.

I had an amazing experience tasting some classic and creative Portuguese dishes. Bacalhau à Brás was simply delicious — perfectly seasoned, creamy, and full of flavor. The combination of shredded codfish, eggs, and onions creates pure comfort food magic. Camarão à guilho was also very good — juicy shrimp in garlicky olive oil with just the right amount of spice. You can’t go wrong with that! But the real surprise was the Polvo com figos — an exotic and unexpected mix of tender octopus and sweet figs. The contrast between the textures and flavors was unique and unforgettable. Overall, a wonderful experience that shows how rich and diverse Portuguese cuisine can be. Highly recommended! 🇵🇹

We had a lot of fruit flies. It was a really unpleasant atmosphere. My meat. I did not like it, the meat seemed off. My wifes cod as well. Not the best experience. Be vigilant.

Interesting tapas restaurant experience. Food was prepared and cooked expertly and delivered piping hot. Extensive drinks menu, competitive prices. Most tourists will miss this place because it is in the backstreets but it is well worth a visit.

Great combination of portuguese tapas. Owner also has a beautiful selection of reasonably priced wine (<25 euros). The choriza (portuguese sausage) and the bras bacalhau (cod fish w fries and olives) were excellent. But everything else was worth it, Nothing really to complain. Expect to pay 30 to 35 euros per person for a big meal w wine.

Tascaria Chafariz is a charming restaurant in Vila Real de Santo Antonio that offers a delightful dining experience. The menu features delectable dishes such as tuna estupeta, octopus rice, stewed pork cheeks with mashed potatoes, and farofias for dessert. Guests have praised the friendly service and the chef's attentiveness to their dining experience. The seafood cataplana has been described as a generous masterpiece of flavors, complemented by homemade piripiri sauce.
The receptionist at my accommodation recommended this place, and I'm so glad they did. The food was wonderful and the host was gracious. Garlic octopus was one of, if not the best I've had - soft and delicious. Dried tuna was amazing and I couldn't have enough mussels! I'd recommend it for an intimate group or a quiet and friendly place for one, which I was, although I probably ate for two !

What a lovely hidden restaurant! The service was amazing, lovely and personal staff, atmosphere was pleasant and the food exceptional! I had prawns for a starter and grilled octopus as the main. The octopus was the best I had ever had in life - the combination of it with the mash and sauces on side was incredibly delicious. The dessert was the perfect ending to a lovely evening. Absolutely recommended 👌

An absolutely wonderful, local, hidden gem! I had my last meal in Faro here and it was DELICIOUS! I was solo and sat looking out of the window (there is also a lovely outdoor space in front of the restaurant). The staff could not have been kinder! I really felt like I’d gone for dinner at their house. I had the shrimp and pineapple curry and rice and my goodness it was SO good! I had a lovely glass of wine (kindly topped up once or twice) with it. I wish I’d had space for pudding! Highly recommend.

Incredible dinner, great value too. E have the garlic octopus appetizer, then two main dishes split between 3 of us. The pork and clam cataplana was amazing, as well as the seafood rice. Highly recommend going here, it’s off the beaten path but worth the walk. Cheap beer too but the sangria looked delicious, wish I had gotten that.

Beautiful place with the great dishes! The owners were so friendly and helpful. The wine recommendations both times were excellent! Yes, we did return second time, for the food was so good. The dishes we tried and do recommend are the scallops and lemon rice, prawn buttery curry, tar tar, goat cheese and jam starter, grilled octopus starter and the spicy tomatoe mussels. These are must try, BEAUTIFUL. The baby squids were not fully cleaned, but maybe that is the way they are served here. Cataplana comes without any rice, so it is a lot of sauce and seafood, it was delicious, but not my cup of tea. Other then that, we loved the place, and would have returned 3 time had we stayed longer.

We ate here twice on our short trip to Faro. The quality of the food was superb. The first time we had the prawn & pineapple curry and eggs with tomatoes. Both were delicious. On our second visit we chose the seafood cataplana. It was delicious, full of razor clams mussels, clams, langoustine onions, peppers and a subtle kick of chilli. We loved it. Washed down with a bottle of Alvarinho. Friendly service from the team on a beautiful evening. Thank you 🥰

Incredible food on a lovely terrace! We went there twice and pretty much everything was amazing, but the shrimp curry especially. One of the highlights of our Portugal travels was hanging out on their terrace for their Friday night live music. The 3-hour acoustic set by a very talented local musician was the perfect backdrop for their delicious plates and wines. We hung around after closing time with the staff, the musician, and a couple regulars, they were all very friendly and welcoming. Absolutely incredible experience, loved this place, will go back to Faro some day just to return here!

Just ended a cycling tour along the Algarve with a visit to this wonderful restaurant. It's tucked away in a quiet backstreet away from the bustle of Faro central, and it's worth the walk. Fish, shellfish, vegetarian and meat options, and everything tasted great! Served by a super-friendly guy from the North of Portugal who brought us sample platters of shrimp parcels, dry cured tuna and more. Simple food cooked and presented really well. We sat outside and spent a good two hours eating and drinking. Try the octopus cataplana, and the 'clouds' for desert. Maybe not the cheapest meal you'll have in Faro, but surely one of the best!

Had some spare time before checking in for flight home, so I had a quick hot chocolate and cheese and ham sandwich. I didn't enjoy the sandwich, so wouldnt have that kind again. The hot chocolate was nice. Great service. Didn't feel rushed to move on, which was nice
Clare C — Google review
I’m generally a fan of Costa, but this one at Faro Airport B has disappointing food. Not a patch on Pret A Manger in terms of the fruit salad. I bought two as usual, opened the first and saw the orange still had a bit of peel on. And I could see it was the pithy core with large pips. I took it to the counter and showed my server. She shrugged and said “It’s orange”. I gave her a look and held up a replacement to which she shrugged in agreement. You can see from my photos that the orange were poor quality and badly prepared. The grapes were tasty but not seedless. In a cafe situation with no plates or sharp knives this isn’t ideal. My pain a raisin looked a bit pale under the counter but I bought one anyway. It was dry and clearly not made today… Costa Coffee management needs to review the food offer at this site. Massive footfall so an opportunity to impress thousands of tourists weekly.

Good coffee and chai latte. Not a long waiting times, however we were not told that they were out of the lids for their take-away cups. Specially when we ordered to take away as we were due to board the flight soon.

Ladies working there need to work on their customer service , they looked bored and miserable, not paying attention to customers. Only the black man was super friendly and nice. It took them forever to make my drinks.

Disgrace service from this Costa. I bought 3 sandwiches and 3 coffees from this Costa before my flight and to my disappointment my sandwich was completely gone off and had a horrible smell. I sent multiple emails to complain and finally received a response which completely dismissed my complaint and said nobody else complained so there couldn't have been an issue. I expected a nice sandwich for my flight and spent €25 in costa and then had to spend another €25 on the flight. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality but even more so with the lack of customer service. Still waiting on a response on a refund. Terrible experience.

Unfriendly personel. Asked for a stone mug instead of the cardboard cup she wanted to give me. Was not possible because "the washing machine" is not working. The girl was too lazy to wash 1 mug by hand.

Very poor quality of cold frappes comparing to Irish Costa Coffee. My drink was like milk with water. It'expensive and it's poor quality. I do no recommend. Also queues and not enough staff to server all tourists building up on left and right. More like a supermarket without friendly approach.

Staff very rude from the start like they didn't want business. Very nice to locals but rude to tourists. Fish overcooked and not fresh at all which I find weird being so close to the sea. They have an English menu and a Portuguese (to which the latter I do not speak) first she missed a drink from the order then I ordered food and confirmed by pointing to each item on the list in both Portuguese and English, we asked if she got everything as we wasn't sure she did and even tried to confirm again to make sure but she was adamant that she got everything and she missed a full meal. The food was also cold and very disappointing when it arrived

They took our order in English. Portuguese speakers arrived after us, ordered the same dish. Their food arrived within 10 minutes. We had to wait for our food AND drinks for forty minutes. Then when we asked for ketchup or mayonnaise for the fries, suddenly the staff could not speak English. It’s Christmas but I won’t leave a tip.

Lovely little bar We came here 2 years ago and so decided to come back We spent our last few hours in Faro sat outside as just too hot to walk around before going to the airport. Good place to grab a quick bite. The sandwitches we ate were fresh and the price we paid for them was appropriate considering the airport markup. The coffe and the desserts were also fine, however, the pastel de nata was not crunchy/fresh. The service was a mixed bag, some staff was overly nice and friendly, but some looked like they are on their third prison sentence.

Low quality of coffee. Disappointed with the coffee quality. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and paid over 5 euros, but it didn’t live up to expectations. The milk foam was airy and lacked that smooth, silky texture — too much air was introduced when steaming. For the price, I expected better execution.

This is the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. 10 euros for a stone.. I'm seriously. Their bread is so dry that it could break glass. Now I can attend as the head name in Jaws trying to eat meal. We bought 4 sandwiches. Worst money ever spent. My daughter choked on the dry bread.. It took her over an hour to finish a quarter sandwich.. Tried to fix my sandwich with 3 tubes of mayo. (Translated by Google) I would like to take this opportunity to express my displeasure regarding the quality of the folar de Olhão that I recently purchased. I am a regular consumer of this product and, as such, I am well aware of its traditional flavour and texture, as well as its characteristic filling. However, in recent years — and particularly this year — I have noticed that the folars have been arriving extremely dry and with practically no filling, which seriously compromises the quality and experience that I once associated with this typical product. Considering that the folar de Olhão is a symbol of our regional sweets, I deeply regret that it has lost the consistency and flavour that made it so special. I thank you in advance for your attention to this message and I look forward to your feedback. As having italian heritage I appreciate a good Italian cappuccino and a croissant with pistachio cream. The only bad note is the fact that the service is extremely slow, I am not sure how many tables you got but full capacity would be 15/18 tables, and to serve a croissant and a cappuccino would take them 15/20 minutes, I understand the chilled vibes but this place is in a touristy area, people have schedules, bus to take, long car trips during the day, and 15/20 min for a cappuccino and a croissant to be served is waaay to long. Other than that the quality of food is good and staff is polite and welcoming… they just need to be a bit faster! 😊

François G — Google review
We stopped here for some strawberry gelato after dinner, but it wasn’t quite to our liking. We found it to be overly sweet and not as high in quality or flavor as other gelaterias we visited in Portugal. That being said, many other customers seemed to be ordering crepe-based desserts with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or Nutella, so it’s possible that those are the specialty rather than the gelato. While it didn’t quite meet our expectations, it may be worth trying for those types of desserts instead.

Choco & Nut Faro serves waffles, crepes and other sweets besides ice cream, we tried the waffle n it was okayish, nothing special or too bad, you need min order of 5 euro to pay with card. The location is central.

The pastry shop Pastelaria Cinderela is a great place to get a quick bite or coffee before the rest of the town opens up. The croissant was excellent and the espresso was good, though the machine wasn't working properly so it didn't reach its usual standards. The owner was reluctant to sell coffee without it being at its normal standard, but ultimately allowed me to have what I wanted.
Lovely couple runs this restaurant, especially popular for local people. That’s why we had a try. The gentleman speaks English. He kindly introduced us each type of cake that we interested. He also offered us a cake made of sweet potatoes as a gift.

Phenomenal!! Went back on several occasions!! The pastel de nata with fondant was far better than I expected and the mille feuille is a must 😍
T W — Google review
Lovely pastries and sweet treats. Went there almost everyday for breakfast during my trip. The staff seemed busy at first but when I started ordering with a smile they were very nice and smiled back. There were many local customers coming in and out so that must say something about the quality of food. You’d be surprised by the (low) prices so prepare some coins.
J C — Google review
Felt as though they don’t like foreigners. I needed to order quite a few pastries as there was a group of us as the lady serving me just got more annoyed with every pastry I asked for!

This place has been suggested to me by a local and you’ll find mostly local people inside. Good and fresh pastries and good value for the money

Monday morning, 0715 and hardly anywhere is open. I’m hungry for breakfast. What joy when I saw the lights on in this place. Had an excellent croissant and an espresso. The guy was reluctant to sell me a coffee as he said the machine was not working properly, so it would not be at the normal standard. I said please go ahead as any coffee is better than no coffee. It was fine, and I appreciated his reluctance. A clean, good value cafe with a good range of cakes, sandwiches and typical Portuguese fare. And a godsend for those of us roaming around earlier than the rest. Recommended.

Gula Foodlab is a popular ice cream shop in Faro that has garnered high ratings for its delicious and unique flavors. The friendly staff, possibly the owner, are known for their warm hospitality and willingness to let customers sample the gelato before making a decision.
Best pistachio ice cream ever!!! Was very surprised to learn that it’s all vegan, the ice cream is super creamy and better than most milk ice creams. We also had dark chocolate and maracuja (passion fruit).
Siri D — Google review
This gelato is so delicious! The staff are so friendly, offering tasters in an flavour you have an interest in. Their flavours do vary but there is always great ones available. I had to dark chocolate sorbet and it was so yum and so refreshing! My mum had the lemon and basil and was very impressed! (unfortunately didn't get a photo of that one)
Louise F — Google review
After a year in Buenos Aires it is a bit difficult to find really good ice cream in other places in the world. But Gula blew my mind. The taste and texture were 20 out of 5 stars. I got pistachio and hazelnut and just disappeared from this world for a minute. So creamy and the intense flavor of the nuts 🌰 and the salty note of the pistachio… I might go every day I’m here just for these two flavors. Also the service was super kind and was amazing recommending and giving me all kinds of flavors to try! Thank you!! Such an amazing experience. Really really appreciate that the spoons to try 🥄 were real metal spoons. Thank you for taking care of the planet.
Alla P — Google review
Very good ice cream. In total I tried 7 different flavors. (Shared with my boyfriend) 😁 My favorites were Pistachio, Dulce de Leche and White Chocolate Raspberry. As a small sidenote: the portion size felt a little on the smaller side considering the price.
Catarina — Google review
I really enjoyed all the flavors I tried, but the White Chocolate Raspberry was my favorite 🤩. The shop is centrally located, with friendly owners and delicious products. We’ll be coming back 👍🏽.

Quite simple THE BEST ice cream in Faro...and possibly anywhere! A nice range of flavours and yes, the pistachio is incredible! Don't do Faro without giving this place a visit!
Steve H — Google review
One of the best gelatos I’ve ever had. I’m a big pistachio lover, so I always try pistachio gelato everywhere I go, and this one is easily among the best. The texture and taste were perfect. The portions are a bit small, but for the quality, flavor, and considering it’s in a touristy area, the prices are very reasonable compared to other places. I also tried the hazelnut, and it had that perfect white Kinder Bueno flavor that not every place gets right. I’ll definitely be visiting again.
Isabelle L — Google review
Not only the ice cream is marvellous, but also the coffee. I ordered flat whites in different (recommended) coffee bars in Faro and this one was by far the best! Finally someone who knows how to proper steam milk. Highly recommend.

Despite its small size, the shop provides friendly service and fair prices for its high-quality products.
What a lovely and original place. We went there shortly before closure and were still served by a friendly Portuguese in Portuguese. The products are worth every single Euro, and it's not many!!! Totally recommended! Not a lot of space, so nothing for large groups. Wheelchairs may enter. They serve hot chocolate, coffee and tea as well. Brilliant spot to stop by.

I visited a local establishment that serves ice cream, pastries, coffee, and drinks, and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and accommodating staff. The team was very willing to help with the selection of their impressive range of products, and most importantly, they also speak English, which was very useful for someone who didn't speak the local language. At the entrance of the establishment, there is a large sign with the name and price list, listing all the products they offer, which is very transparent and clear. The interior of the establishment was clean and tidy, which contributed to the pleasant experience of the visitor. In addition to serving great pastries, coffee, and drinks, they also have a large screen displaying their offerings, which is very convenient for those who can't decide what they would like to have. Overall, it is an average establishment without any extraordinary features, but still very pleasant and recommended for a visit. Definitely worth visiting for those looking for excellent ice cream, pastries, coffee, or drinks, and for those who want a pleasant experience with friendly staff.

These brownies are a delight!! We absolutely love everything about being here. Not only the amazing brownies stand out, but also the woman who owns the store is the absolute kindest and sweetest soul. This place can be out of the ordinary way that people walk but is definitely a hidden gem worthy to visit! Vera is so kind and has an incredible good energy and warming smile. It was a wonderful first time and as a local I'm sure I'll be back here, and recommend for everyone. Well, of course the brownies are not different and have amazing flavour and are surely built with good quality products. There's also coffee (Yellow Bourbon, from where I'm from in Brasil) and I can't wait to go back to taste it also
