Other pastries also available (broodjeworst, also a favorite from this place). Recommended to pack some pieces home for your loved ones because you haven’t visited maastricht without vlaai from their place.

A must try Vlaai (traditional limburg pie, one kf maastricht pastry icon!) the strawberry one is really niceee and big portion! We share 1 for 2 people! The mint tea is also nice! They have dine in place with quite small capacity <3 sooo warm also beside there is a beautiful old mill

Such a pretty place and great service. Did not really like the food though - I had the avocado sandwich and it looked pretty but that muhammara was intense. Like I wanted to vomit a bit after I ate it. It doesn’t taste bad, it’s just they put a ton of it and it’s overpowering.

Nice breakfast very delicious. Interesting open kitchen and possible to see your upcoming meal. We went there at 9 am and shortly later started to get busy.

My favorite breakfast spot in Maastricht. I’ve tried 4 different places for breakfast and this is the only one I would like to go their again and again. I’ve tried the french breakfast and the so delicious breakfast both are amazing. The price is reasonable for the quality and the quantity.

SoDelicious is so good! We had a breakfast there and everything was perfect. All baked stuff was so fresh, I especially enjoyed a croissant 🥐 with homemade jam. The staff was nice and welcoming, we were seated immediately even without a reservation.

SoDelicous in Maastricht beautifully combines a restaurant with a bakery. This was a great stop for brunch and pastries. The restaurant decor is simply stunning and the staff were super friendly and were more than willing to speak English. The coffee is good, we ordered flat whites and they have plant-based milk options available. For food we ordered the pancakes served with maple syrup and fruit. They were delicious and light with some crispness on the outside. We also ordered the Luxe Onbijt wich contains scrambled eggs, bread, French toast, a croissant, youghurt with fruit and muesli and a glass or orange juice. Absolutely everything in this was divine, the French toast was particularly good. To end off our morning we had lovely mimosas. SoDelicious was a great stop and I will definitely be back to sample goods from the bakery!

Great spot to grab some delicious lunch or breakfast. The food was very good and the prices were fairly decent for Maastricht standards. We loved the attention to detail such as the freshly baked mini cakes near our coffee. It took some time for our table to get served in the beginning but everything went smoothly after the initial interaction. They also have a bakery with great looking cakes so I would definitely check them out if in the area and in need of some sweets or a nice meal.

"Don't believe the social media hype"!!! Really what is wrong with you people? This is an artisan product, which yes, can take a while to prepare but, it is totally worth the wait. The price, I believe is completely justified. Is this the most amazing toasted sandwich 🥪 that I have ever had? A resounding yes would be the answer. Super friendly service and we have placed our bread order for pick up tomorrow morning for our journey back to Hamburg. Do yourself a favour and check this deli out. P.s. the picture does not really do the sandwich justice 😀

What a disappointment! The panini are pre-made by Voncken and come in labelled plastic bags. You’re not getting an artisanal, high-quality product here, but rather a very basic supermarket-style ham and cheese panini. The interior and products in the shop give off a high-quality delicatessen vibe, which unfortunately does not translate into the panini itself. The bread is bland, the ham and cheese are just okay, and the nearly €10 price tag is completely unjustified for what you get. In addition , it took about 15 minutes to get our order — and this was the very first one to be made. To be fair, the delay wasn’t due to inefficiency but simply because the cheese takes so long to melt. On the positive side, the interior design is very charming, and the shop sells a wide range of delicacy products and fresh breads (though also delivered by Voncken, not baked in-house). To conclude: the panini are not worth the hype. We can’t judge the other products, because we did not try them.

An amazing toastie with artisanal produce. We waited 10 minutes, which seems fair. I admit, I wouldn't wait any longer than 15 minutes, but would definitely go again. They tell you the waiting time in advance, so you can decide for yourself.

Small cafe with friendly staff. Went here for a bite to eat just before a concert ( Muziekgieterij about a 15 minute walk). The cafe is relatively small with the bathroom upstairs (steep stairs). There is a small selection of food but a good selection. Some special beets available but a limited choice. We started with the Asian Buikspek ( appetiser) which is a relatively large portion. Main course sate which also is good. Good spot for a small dinner.

Definitely recommend this place! There are seats indoors and outdoors. We ate lunch right at 12 o’clock and it was quite busy but the food came relatively fast. The waitress was very nice and polite and knows English. The food here tastes great, just a tad expensive (most probably because it is in the city center). Would come again!

Lovely spot, we stopped for a drink and treat. I had the apple crumble which was delicious but scolding hot and did not have enough crumble. This would be best served in a larger dish rather than the ridiculous glass tumbler it was served in. Other than that, the food, drinks and service was all good.

Will definitely come again! I came with my family that was visiting Maas for the first time and they absolutely loved the vibe. Their meat and vegan Zuurvlees is absolutely delicious. Also their Truffle pasta was so nice and creamy! And their Aperol very refreshing. The attention and the girls were so nice, very chill compared to the rest of restaurants/ bars in city center (which was very appreciated so you can kinda escape from the chaos). They even said that if we wanted from fried they can definitely bring more and it would be no issue… who can say NO to more fries? Haha Love it 🫶🏼

Very cosy restaurant in the centre of Maastricht. We were there with a group of 8 people, which they managed to accommodate. Service was very friendly and smooth. All the dishes arrived at the same time and was from excellent quality. Definitely a place where I would go on a next occasion!

It is an ok place for drinks, but I would not eat therez we had fries which was ok, except that they put the sauce on the fries. The service was very quick and efficient.

The worst Croque Monsieur I have ever seen, I just could not eat it. The waitress said it was ok, she is eating it every day.

We have eaten here many times. Breakfast, lunch & Dinner. Always good. This visit also. Food; tomato soup, pasta funghi & dame blanche were really tasty. Service a little slower than normal as shortstaffed.

I had a pleasant lunch and the food was as the reviews said. I had a decent glass of rose wine. The coffee wasn't impeccable, but being Italian I'm picky when it comes to coffee.

If you are looking for an extensive continental breakfast this place will not disappoint. Croissants, french bread, wholegrain are served with omelet or sunny side up eggs, cheese, ham jams, butter and a generous portion of salad and fruits. Bubbles are optional but orange juice and coffee/tea included.

This place is always nice to sit. Simple but good. When on the other side of the river it's a good place to have a drink or two.

I am no drinker by any stretch of the imagination and never go out drinking in the UK because basically - pubs - which ones are left because a lot of them are closing down, are not the most inviting of places, especially if you are not a local. They can be quite hostile if you are not a local but when walking past Zondag one night during my stay in Maastricht. I saw happy people having a nice time on the outside tables. So, I thought I would take a chance and I ventured inside to have a beer. The bar was staffed by three friendly guys, service was swift and the beer was good. My beer was actually served in an old fashioned British pint glass with a handle - something I hadn't seen for at least 30 years in a British pub. So, I was taken to my environs immediately. So, when it came to payment. Their card reader wouldn't take my card and the friendly barman shrugged and said cheerfully 'We have problems with British debit cards unfortunately' and I said 'well, I have a Chinese debit card, let's try that!' which made him laugh, it made me laugh too as it had less chance of working than my British card but actually, the Chinese debit card kind of works OK in the Netherlands but it is a bit more hit-and-miss than my British bank card as you can imagine (for the record - we tried the Chinese debit card - it didn't work!). The way the bar staff at Zondag dealt with this problem and the solutions they offered impressed me so much that I am on here writing about it and am happy to give them full marks for their service, friendliness and understanding. Thankfully, my British debit card started motoring on the second attempt and I managed to pay for my drinks. What would have happened in the UK if that happened? Maybe death, dirty looks, comments about my dearly missed, deceased mother? More than likely! The chilled out response from my friends in Zondag? Doubtful! So, full marks to all staff at Zondag! Thank you for your understanding and may you have many more happy evenings with your wonderful patrons.

A nice place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. I really appreciate their wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks - it's not your usual Coke & Sprite. Their kombucha is especially tasty (really sour). The food is also pretty decent, I tried the tortilla de patatas - it was nice but a bit bland and cold. The only thing that really bothers me is their service. I went several times and they barely come to your table once. After that they never come back, even if they are not busy at all. It seems that they do not really care about the customers, which I find annoying. If it weren't for their bad service, the place itself deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, it ruins the whole experience, so if you don't mind, give it a try.

We ate breakfast here and the food was just immaculate, I ordered the cheese toastie and the cheese was just perfect and very unique (probably the best toastie I’ve eaten in my whole life). The staff were really friendly, I recommend coming early as it gets busy within minutes! From Kuwait 🇰🇼

I was so excited when I was inside the 1st time. The man behind the counter was very helpful and patient. I order 2 milk shakes and both of us was happy with the results. So went back again the next day (today). 2 girls was behind the counter this time. Order the same drink. But this experience was different. I paid for a full cup, but when walking out realize that the cup was only half full. Being a tourist. I assume this maybe normal practice. But i have to say. A full cup would have been the proper think to serve. So, I am giving a less then 5 rating. Just recommend you look first before paying.

This ice cream shop is one of the better ones. However, What happened to the ice cream prices?!? 7 euros for two scoops, might be my ignorance but it does take out the pleasure of going for an ice cream.

Do not buy their milkshakes. For Euro 7 you get half a cup and like flavoured milk. Server wasn't able to address my disappointment as she had been told that that's the portion control they have to work towards.

Excellent pies! The smallest piece they sell is a quarter of a pie (but they cut it in half for us) and it costs around 5€. We had an apple one and sour cherry and both were delicious. Will go again for sure.

Fruit tarts in my pics were some kind of heaven - unusually crispy sugar crystal crunchy outer pastry, delicious cream filling, glossy fruits and lovely fresh mandarin segments on top for €4.5? - first one was so good we ordered a second which was the last one on the shelf. Serve yourself coffee in a paper cup. Coffee filled to about half full - espresso may be smaller. You can sit inside to eat on a narrow bench for two if tables outside are wet after rain - busy shop looks like all women making beautiful pastries.

A must go-to when you are in Maastricht. The vlaai is delicious and all the pastries are just amazing. I’ve had the peach and the cherry vlaai and they are so yummy. I’ve bought other bigger cakes for birthdays and every one of them is just yummier than the previous one. The service is great, the patio seating is perfect and they give you free coffee for the purchase too! It’s very lovely to see the different decorations they have depending on the season

One of the best bakkerij in Maastricht. They have very good fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolate and Vlaai of course. You have to take a token and wait in line on Sundays and the weekends. They have the best pudding and Rice Vlaai in the city. There are also seasonal Vlaai which use seasonal fruits and ingredients. I would suggest ordering in advance if you need larger quantities

I used to live in the neighborhood and this was always my go-to spot for vlaai. In my opinion, it’s hands down the best vlaai in the city! My absolute favorite filling is the apricot with pudding — so good. Their croissants and pains au chocolat are also absolutely delicious. One tip: if you’re visiting on Dutch Father’s/Mother’s Day or other big celebration days, it’s best to order in advance or be prepared to wait in line, as the selection can be limited. But trust me—it’s worth the wait!

Very popular bakkerij in town, and for very good reasons. Great products, always fresh, the team is always welcoming you with a smile & they do amazing traditional Limburgse Vlaai, easy to order online for pick up. Sometimes, on peak hours, there's a queue, but if you are not in a rush, it's totally worth the waiting. 120% recommended

we really wanted to try rice vlaai and kept seeing recommendations for this bakery, so we stopped by in the morning. we ended up buying a whole (small) one since they were freshly baked, still warm, and couldn't be cut yet. the person who helped us was very nice about this it was tasty enough, bit bland for my tastes, although i suppose we haven't had any other rice vlaai to compare to 😅 we also got a sausage roll here for breakfast and i was extremely dismayed when i bit into it as it was ice cold. probably straight from the fridge. i've never experienced this from a bakery before - usually if something is cold, they'll ask if you'd like to heat it up, right?

OMG!!!! I consider myself lucky for discovering this gem 💎!!!! If you want to have a real French patisserie experience (but in Maastricht 😉) here is the place! The cakes AND the ice cream are simply DELICIOUS! The high quality of their ingredients, you can actually taste it in their products. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He even told us what’s to visit and he even gave us a few tips where we could eat. Next time in Maastricht, I know where I will have my dessert 🍮! You should too! 😉

To be honest the pistachio eclair was pretty, but that’s about it for me. For the price (5 euro) I expected higher quality cream. I definitely wouldn’t go back, and if I did I would try a different one. Or ask if they’ve updated the filling recipe. Gorgeous in looks, just didn’t deliver for the cost paid.

Felt this to be a bit over-hyped place (1 eclair is for 5.5 euros!). Since we went at 4.30 pm - we received a bit hardened Eclairs - ingredients were fresh though. Interesting try.

Here,the classic eclair is brought to art level. You can choose from many flavor combinations and you will not be disappointed by any of them . My favorite was the Earl Grey. They have as well the best ice cream in town. The owner is extremely friendly adding a big plus to the welcoming atmosphere of the establishment . It's a must if you vist the town

Look, this cookie strutted into my life like it was ready to change everything—and to be fair, the base cookie is delicious. But let’s talk about that “blueberry and lemon” situation, shall we? Because baby, I was promised a zesty, fruity affair, and what I got was a Where’s Waldo of lemon and a blueberry witness protection program. I bit in, expecting Beyoncé-level citrus sass. Instead, the lemon whispered, “Hi… I’m here. Maybe.” And the blueberries? Blink and you’ll miss ‘em. I’ve seen more blueberries in a basic muffin from a gas station. And don’t even get me started on the price. For that money, I expected to be personally serenaded by a blueberry while lemon zest was grated over me like parmesan on a fancy pasta. Would I recommend it? Honestly, yes. Because it’s still a good cookie. But if you’re expecting a full-on fruit explosion, manage those expectations, honey.

THE ORIGINAL ONE IS BESTTTT! The other flavor we think are just okay and more towards too sweet, but the cookie texture is nice! Chewy and crunchy 🍪 love it!

I was vacationing and introduced here by my friends who are locals. I was so impressed by the shop, the friendly service, the deliciously warm and buttery cookies and presentation. Loved that they come with instructions for reheating to perfection and storage. You can tell the owner cares about the quality of the product and your enjoyment. I ended up returning for cookies for a dinner I was hosting and made a special trip to bring some back to Los Angeles. Everyone loved them! These are so needed here! Every flavor delicious and they make such a beautiful gift with very nice packaging for someone special! Definitely would recommend stopping by.

I have my own cookie shop so I’m very strict on what I think is a good soft baked cookie. I will say the butter they use is fantastic and you can taste it in the product. The chocolate they also use is not cheap compared to what you see in America. I follow this same concept and appreciate when other places do the same.

Fantastic little place with some of the most divine tasting cakes and cookies. Simple yet elegant and tastes amazing! Not so sweet that it gives cavities and every bite leads to more! Staff is super friendly and lovely! There is no sitting area, it’s more grab and go which is perfect. Parking can be a problem because it’s street parking so first come…but it’s worth it!

If you're a fan of sweet treats, you'll LOVE Ginnie's. They offer a wide variety of cookie flavours, different types of brownies, banana bread, and cupcakes. You also have the option to order custom cakes. We have visited multiple times, and we personally love the fudgy salted caramel brownie, the traditional chocolate chip cookie and the biscoff caramel cookie; they are exceptionally good. We didn't like the banana bread and cinnamon twist as much, as they were a bit dry. The matcha and bueno cookies are not as good as they look. However, we are being very critical. Overall, Ginnies offers a sweet treat for all tastes, and if you know what to choose, you'll be happy. Be sure to visit in the morning to ensure you have the full variety on offer, as the cookies often sell out.

Tasty, although, there is way to much butter cream for a small cake like this. Very thick butter cream layer and just a tiny for the other crème. Last but not least, Slightly overpriced for a butter cream cake.

I've been getting my birthday cakes from here for the past three years, and I recently ordered my graduation cake before leaving Maastricht. Highly recommend their chocolate and cookie cake — super delicious and always beautifully designed!

Was gifted a lovely little red velvet cake for my birthday, the sponge and cream cheese filling was delicious! And the decoration so cute :) The only thing I would suggest to improve on is the buttercream. Even just refrigerated normally it goes far too hard. I prefer a creamier texture (to match the rest of the cakes’ texture), as most mouthfuls were soft cake, soft cream cheese and then a chunk of hard buttercream. Other than that, I do love the value and other bakes this bakery creates - the cookies are really good!

It‘s a really nice bakery with very good food and coffee. The bagels were freshly made an with a lot of ingridients and love :) You can see the love and craftsmenship in this bakery. Chris was also very nice and welcoming! I would recommend going there and getting a pistachio babka.

Best sourdough bread and bagels I've had in years!! They gave me a cookie to taste and the taste was irresistible! I started with a nibble which quickly turned to gobbling the (large) cookie down in one sitting. The staff is so friendly and clearly excited about their new endeavour. Hope they keep up the enthusiasm and quality. HIGHLY recommend.

The food is very inconsistent, bought cheesecake multiple times. Loved it the first time, but then every other time the sizes and tastes were not good, which is frustrating as you are paying for the “same” item each time. For €5,80 you would really hope to get the same good quality slice of cheesecake.

What kind of hospitality business rest 3 days of a week? Okay if the boss is too rich to work then they should let other people to do the work and earn money. I think customers also deserves respect and loyalty.

Bought two slices of Basque cheesecake for 11€. The cake had completely horrible consistency and fell apart when they were putting it in a box. It was also, for some reason, very salty and close to inedible. To be fair, I had tried the focaccia here before, which was fine, but I expect a batch with such obvious low quality not to be sold to paying customers, especially for this price.

I went there to buy the famous vlaai from Limburg. But only had the picture from the Rijstevlaai (my favourite). The prices are good taking into account quality ans size. (Rijstevlaai = 5.50€; fruit vlaai = 4.25€). The service is really nice and friendly. The only thing I found really inappropriate is the fact that people working there touch the food with their hands without gloves, which is not hygienic. I recommend to book the cakes the day before so you'll enjoy it with no hesitation.

What is there to say that hasn't been said? Every chocolate is a work of love, the chocolates themselves are experiences, a box of 20 will last two people ~5 days. My son enjoyed the fruit and chocolate yogurt, which had a beautiful presentation. He enjoyed his hot chocolate (made with milk chocolate) and I found the mochaccino to be a delight. Attended the wine and chocolate workshop a while ago and exceeded our expectations by far. We had a wonderful time with high quality chocolates and wines.
