French restaurant
Le Gibolin, located in Arles, France, is a bistro known for its indulgent market cuisine that is both simple and generous. The restaurant is led by Arnaud Jourdan, who has experience from La Chassagnette and Les Maisons Rabanel.
How this place doesn't have 5 stars I do not know. It was absolutely fantastic. Every dish was so innovative and the flavours were just perfect. The place is also cosy and nicely decorated. Great price for the quality, originality and quantity. Would recommend booking the day before though as we couldn't get a table the first time even though we went at 13:15. Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous menu with wonderfully friendly staff. We found this place in the Michelin app and were not disappointed. The beans, house dip, and ricotta gnocchi were all incredibly well executed, delicious, and well presented. Would absolutely add this to the list. We did notice the Google hours were not entirely accurate so if it says this place is closed on Google it’s best to check as we nearly missed out.

Beautiful bistro ambience and wonderful food. The chocolate mousse with dry olives was surprising and delicious. You only need one for two people though

Le Gibolin in Arles offers a delightful dining experience with its charming ambiance and attentive service. The menu features a wonderful selection of local dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients that truly shine. The flavors and presentation are exceptional. Pair your meal with their excellent selection of local wines for a complete Provençal experience. A cozy spot perfect for a relaxed meal. Recommended for those seeking authentic Provençal cuisine
Max P — Google review
Le Gibolin in Arles is a culinary gem that takes imaginative and modern inspiration to new heights. Our dining experience commenced with a delightful starter duo—the courgette fritters and mackerel with beets—that beautifully showcased the chef's innovative approach. The courgette fritters, crispy and golden, were a tantalizing marriage of flavors especially with the spicy sauce that accompanied it, while the mackerel with beets surprised us with its harmonious blend of smoky fish and earthy sweetness. For our main courses, we indulged in the succulent pork rib, perfectly cooked and bursting with savory goodness literally falling off the bone in its succulent glory, as well as the tuna, which was expertly seared and accompanied by vibrant grilled vegetables that elevated the dish to extraordinary heights. To conclude our meal, the chocolate mousse captivated our palates with its velvety smoothness and rich decadence along with a sprinkle of salt that really brought out the flavours. Le Gibolin truly embraces imaginative and modern cuisine, weaving together flavors and textures in a way that delights and surprises.

Excellent best of Arles - haricot verts salad with an excellent sauce, lamb and tuna main courses superbly tailored with melange of tastes with a unique chocolate mousse final with olives on the top

Warm welcoming restaurant with great service and unique menu. Food was delicious. We ordered different dishes from set menu, everything was really tasty from appetizer to dessert
Alla T — Google review
This place is mad, but in a good way. The signature dish of chocolate mousse with salt and black olives is a microcosm of the whole experience— combinations that don’t seem like they should work but in fact are brilliant.

Inari is a permanent dining spot by chef Celine Pham, who has previously worked in renowned Parisian restaurants like Septime and Ze Kitchen Galerie. Located in Arles, the restaurant is housed in a 13th-century chapel on Place Voltaire. The decor is understated, providing the perfect backdrop for the chef's balanced cuisine with Asian influences and a focus on plant-based ingredients.
Everything about this place is effortlessly professional. Really superb attention to detail in the service, presentation and atmosphere; fresh and lively dishes; and a banging natural wine list. Pretty special spot.
Robin M — Google review
This was one of the best meals of my life. The flavors, textures, quality, and presentation of each dish are superb and unique. I also enjoyed the wine pairing immensely. I actually felt a pang of sadness midway through the meal that I do not live closer to Arles, and may not be able to experience Chef Céline Pham's brilliance again for a while. Unlike anything I have ever tasted before - truly transportive, and an homage to her Vietnamese heritage that meets modern French cuisine. Best pho I’ve ever tasted! The service by a mainly female, stellar team, is warm and impeccable. The space, nestled in a 13th century chapel, is beautiful and inviting. Their star is rising.⭐️
Gena C — Google review
We drove here from Avignon based on the recommendation of our bnb host. And it was worth the round trip drive. We got lucky with the same day reservation. The restaurant was very charming and intimate without mainly tables set up for a party of 2. Inari offered a 5-course meal at about 55 euros. The sommelier gave us great recommended pairing for our meal. We enjoyed watching the chef cook in an open kitchen setting. Just note that you will most likely catch the smell of food on your hair or clothing. All the dishes were beautiful with a twist of Vietnamese fare. The pace in between serving each course was perfect. Don’t think twice - come here and enjoy some delicious food.
Cindy W — Google review
Asian inspired/fusion. The meals come in a 6-course set for dinner. Every dish was absolutely delicious. They accommodated a vegetarian diet and asked specifically if there are any other allergies or preferences before. In addition they spoke perfectly good English and explained every dish. It's worth getting a reservation as it seems possible that showing up late without one might result in being able to not get a seat. Inside the restaurant the atmosphere was calm and elegant without being uptight or stiff. Outside are views of the courtyard. Overall great attentive service from the servers and a worthwhile place to have dinner in Arles

Each dish was fantastic! What a treat! Super service and perfect wine paring.

10/10 experience - all the dishes took us through a journey. Very interesting concepts and food combinations. Loved the service and wine pairing was next level. Will do my best to come back, thanks for unforgettable evening.

We arrived late at night and this was one of the few places open, it was super packed , but the kind girls that were making the food , didn't turn us away and fed us some delicious meatballs, everything else was sold out , that's how good the place is ! Unfortunately they were closing it for the 2023 winter and it will open in march. The wine was really good too ! They spoke english and accepted card and cash.

Mon Bar is a versatile establishment that combines the functions of a bar, tobacconist, and brasserie. It offers daily specials and creates a welcoming familial ambiance. The service is laid-back yet efficient, overseen by an amiable manager. For those with a sweet tooth, Soleileis at the end of rue des Thermes provides delectable all-natural ice cream. Mon Bar also boasts excellent hot chocolate and satisfactory food and service.
We had a wonderful lunch at the Bar Tabac Brasserie in Arles France. Right off the square with lots of atmosphere. We had butternut squash soup (Veloute' de butternut, Poe'lee' de champignons, lord grille et ses croutons) actually really thick, creamy and rich soup with lardons (small pieces of pork) and divine crunchy croutons. In the USA this would be a bowl of soup, in France it's a meal and evidence of a dedication to making food a sensuous experience.
Don M — Google review
We stopped for lunch at Mon Bar Bistrot & Tabasco on our stop in Arles. Waiters were kind enough to speak English with us and we appreciated it. We ordered the charcuterie board with the tempura shrimp to share and I ordered a non-alcoholic beer. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was delightful. We ate at 3 pm, so there wasn’t much of a crowd. The charcuterie board was listed as 24 euros and our bill came to 37 euros! My friend paid it before I could question the amount, so it was too late to question the price. Either we were charged more than the menu price for the charcuterie board, or a non-alcoholic beer was $13 euros ($15.47 in US dollars). We checked the cost of a 6 pack of the same beer and it was 10 euro. Yikes! Lesson learned - ask the price of anything not on the menu.
Claire A — Google review
The food is excellent, but what's even better is the wonderful waiters.
Yeşim Y — Google review
Wonderful restaurant, extremely welcoming, the hosts kindly accommodated a school group of 25 of us and produced delicious main courses and an amazing salad starter. The beef and chips and the veal were especially good and especially delicious but the salad perhaps took the biscuit. Thank you to Mon Bar!
Simon J — Google review
Busy Sunday so understandable we had a small wait for our meals. However they were worth the wait. My Plat du Jour was excellent and my husband struggled to finish his burger. Good value. Service was very good considering the amount of customers coming and going. Would recommend.
Julie B — Google review
Food was fine but waiting almost 2 hours for it was not. Having ordered taco's was told 20 minutes later there were no taco's. How they didn't know that at the time is beyond me. Ordered a burger instead and then watched tables who came in a good half hour after us order and be served their food. After 90 minutes we questioned the time waiting to be told they'd run out of the dish of the day, which my wife ordered, and it was having to be remade. When we arrived there was only 3 other tables occupied. How do you run out of dish of the day? To compensate we were offered another bottle of wine as we'd finished the one we ordered. What we got was our old bottle half filled with an inferior wine. When we paid we were told the chef was working on his own. Sorry but having been literally the 3rd order of the evening they should have dealt with our order rather than serve the 7 tables who arrived after us. Plenty of other choices in the square, try one of them.
Phill C — Google review
We ordered one drink that was clearly watered down. We immediately said we did not want to drink it and did not wish to pay for it, as the taste was obviously off. Instead of addressing our concern, the staff laughed at us. When the bill arrived, there was no discussion possible – we were simply told we had to pay. The owner then became rude, poured a new glass in front of me and pressured me to drink it, supposedly to prove “nothing was wrong.” It was uncomfortable, intimidating, and extremely unprofessional. On top of that, the food was overpriced for the poor quality we received. It’s obvious this place is a tourist trap, focused more on making quick money than offering any real service or value. Definitely not recommended.

They put water in their drinks, are really unfriendly and food is terrible. Worst tourist trap!!!! Don't come here!!!

This French bakery is known for their delicious pastries and cakes, as well as savory breads and sandwiches. They don't have any seating, so be sure to take a stroll there if you're looking for a quick breakfast or brunch.
Almost didn’t stop in because of the low rating, but I’m glad I did! Delicious vegetarian quiches (plural!), incredible pastries, and very kind personnel (even with a tourist🙏) on this busy afternoon. Merci!

Had a really good sandwich but can’t remember what it was called. Was there with a tour group passing through and I have been looking at our other stops since then and have not found it. The sandwich was warmed and the outside was flaky pastry with delicious cheese inside. Something fromage.
Yvette S — Google review
Worst experience in France! I went in this shop on Sunday morning to get some croissant. The young lady with dark hair who were at the till didn't greet nor ask what I wanted. I had to greet to order, which was new. When I ordered a croissant, she tossed(or even threw?) the bread at the till. I do not know why she did that, but I should have walked away right that moment, at least then I would not have gotten the wrong change. I said to the lady in English that she missed some of my change, she shrugged with a strange look and talked to the other male clerk. I explained to him again to get the right change. And the person who did the mistake didn't say sorry. Is this the manner of France? I never saw this rude person to wait on other people. Maybe she doesn't care about the business. Although I do not care about her life, she'd better get another job and don't ruin someone else's business if she hates it so much.
Jenna K — Google review
Below average boulangerie - pastries were clearly a day old and lacking freshness
Seiriol D — Google review
Dissapointing Pain de campagne, compared to the other we've had in the region, the worst of the 6 we've had this week each from different shops, to our taste. I note we bought it mid afternoon so not at the freshest, but I feel the recipie was the issue rather than the freshness. I understand de campagne to be sourdough, but this didn't seem to be sourdough. That aside, it was not very tasty, the stub of the bin went in the compost. I. Sad yo give it 2 stars, but that is how I'd rate that loaf.

Soleileïs is a charming ice cream shop located at the bottom of rue des Thermes in Arles. Visitors rave about the unique flavors, particularly the fadoli flavor which combines honey, almonds, and olive oil. The prices are considered quite reasonable, with 3 scoops costing only 4.3. In addition to their delectable ice cream and sorbet offerings, Soleileïs also prides itself on maintaining good hygiene practices.
Good ice cream with unique flavours – the fadoli flavour (honey, almonds, olive oil) is to die for! The price is such a bargain (4.3€ for 3 scoops). The shop also upholds good hygiene – the staff sanitizes her hand everytime after serving a customer. Will definitely return!

Creperie
Le Petit Arles is a charming family restaurant in Arles that offers a delightful dining experience. The manager warmly greets guests and provides excellent service, making it a tourist-friendly yet authentic place. The menu features delicious crepes, both sweet and savory, with options like salt crepes and gluten-free varieties. The cafe's cozy ambiance, English-speaking staff, and convenient location near Place Republique make it an ideal spot for breakfast or brunch.
Little Slice of Heaven: The Perfect Crêpes Experience Tucked away on a quiet street corner, this tiny crêpes restaurant feels like stepping into a warm embrace. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a smile so genuine it feels like you’re visiting old friends rather than dining out. The service is attentive without being intrusive — a perfect balance that lets you relax and savor every moment. The atmosphere is pure charm: soft music playing in the background, the scent of butter and sugar filling the air, and delicate fairy lights casting a golden glow across rustic wooden tables. Every little detail, from the hand-written menu to the vintage plates, seems lovingly chosen to create a cozy, heartwarming experience. And then, of course, there are the crêpes. Light, delicate, and made to perfection, whether you choose a simple sugar and lemon classic or a rich, indulgent Nutella and banana creation. Each crêpe is a small masterpiece, made fresh right before your eyes with high-quality ingredients that you can truly taste. The savory options — with melting cheese, fresh herbs, and seasonal vegetables — are just as irresistible. Highlights: • The homemade salted butter caramel sauce is absolutely unforgettable. • They offer gluten-free and vegan crêpe options, crafted with just as much care and flavor. • If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the chef playfully flipping a crêpe high into the air — a little show that always brings a smile. In a world of rushed meals and impersonal service, this little crêperie stands out as a place full of heart. It’s not just about eating; it’s about slowing down, enjoying the simple pleasures, and leaving just a little bit happier than when you arrived. An absolute hidden gem — and a delicious reason to come back again and again.
Keusen K — Google review
We have been coming here for years. There is new ownership and everything is as good if not better than we always experienced. The Nutella crepes are amazing. And the pricing is reasonable. We’llbeback.

Were in a hurry. Staff took some extra time making our food because they are awful people. We missed our bus because of them. She kept looking at the underside of the crêpe even though it was definitely already done. Maybe good but attitude problems.

We wanted something quick so thought this would be an option. However, despite the food was prepared fast, our order didn’t arrive. We saw the guys ordered behind us already finished the food, their food was delivered to their table and so were all the outside tables we have seen. I asked the lady who took my order, who said it was coming. I picked up the food by myself after 10more minutes of wait.

Went to get a birthday cake for my brother. But as non French speaking tourists it is always a guess if you are going to be able to comunnicate with the person in the store. Amazing experience! The location itself is small but looks beautiful. The small pastry is pricey, but are worlds above anything I've tasted elsewhere! Selection is limited but gets more attention and love :) The pastry tastes amazing, and nothing was too sweet! The coffee, we had Frappe, was also great for the warm weather. I can absolutely recommend this patisserie! :)

Brilliant gastronomic pastries by Chef Justine! Delicately made and very unique twist of flavours. This Patisserie is on another level! The owner does everything herself and with love for each detail. The cakes were a harmonic creative composition with real individual taste and not, like in most patisseries, just too sweet fat sugar bombs. Additionally, the ambience is really nice and relaxing, and the stuff super kind. <3

I visited a little over a month ago and I tell everyone it is the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously. Lavender and mango flavours were sooooo good. Last night I had a dream that I returned to Arles and got ice cream from this shop which prompted me to write a review. I’ll be back from New Zealand one day :)) also the lady working was super sweet and understanding of our horrendous French haha ❤️

Glacier Arelati is simply delicious! We loved it. They offer a wide variety of flavors at fair prices, with options for cones or cups. It's convenient that they accept credit cards too. After a long, hot day outside, my family and I stopped by for some ice cream, and despite our limited French, the shop owner kindly assisted us in English. The ice cream and sorbet were absolutely wonderful, making it a delightful experience overall.

H G — Google review
Disappointing. Ice cream was mediocre, the brioche felt like from 2 days ago, the coffee was very bad
Francesco A — Google review
Delicious! Loved it. Many flavors. Fair prices. Cones and cups. Takes credit cards.
Kerry S — Google review
Delicious, the very best ice cream! I stopped by late the other night after 10pm and they were the only ice cream shop still open. The owner recommended a couple of flavors to me and they were fantastic. Definitely coming back again.

Rare find: decent food at a touristy square. Nice view of the plaza and St. Trophine's romanesque facade. Gallete crêpes are soft and hardy, generous portions, quality ingredients. Great stop for a quick lunch or afternoon coffee (/ ice cream) break. Wasn't a fan of the amarena but wow 😲 pistachio ice cream literally tastes like you're eating frozen pistachio butter. Mmmm
Justin B — Google review
Very mediocre ice cream. Didn’t try crepes. Bottle drinks are .40cents more expensive than the bakery next door. There are plenty of other choices around it.
Jamie D — Google review
Absolutely delicious ice-cream and crepe in a perfect location to relax and cool down!
Gillian D — Google review
Tasty crepes, and an excellent view of the square.
Alias J — Google review
brilliant place in a truly beautiful location. the coffee is sublime and the desserts are truly next level stuff.
Cc B — Google review
Arrived at 6:15 pm to order two servings of ice cream/gellato to take away, but they did not seem interested in taking our order. The sign at the counter said we had to be seated at a table to order, so we went to a table outside. But the menu at the table did not list flavors, and the waiter said we could order at the counter. But by then, at 6:20, the woman had begun covering the ice cream bins and told us that it was covered because they were closing (published closing time at 7pm) it could not be uncovered and served. She also took the waffle cones and put them away so we had to get cups. Plenty of other options. Use them.
Mark H — Google review
Very tasty goffres and crepes with ice cream
Fabio S — Google review
The ice cream itself was OK,though nothing remarkable. However, the hygiene was concerning: the server handled the cones with the same gloved hand he used to take money at the cash register. When I mentioned it, he ignored me. I chose not to eat the cone.

Really really good ice cream, many flavors to chose and specially I love the possibility of adding fresh fruit in a smoothie or in a cup of fruits with ice cream. I definitely recommend it and would come back!!

If the aforementioned books, such as 1000 Places To See Before You Die or The 120 Best Sights In Provence, were not authored by incompetent individuals, this establishment would undoubtedly be featured in all of them. Les Délices De Daudet, a charming and petite café renowned for its delectable cuisine and homemade ice creams, is truly a hidden gem. Nathalie, who manages the eatery, is an absolute treasure.
This is officially the best ice cream I've ever had. All the dishes on the menu are simple but perfectly made with lical ingredient. We were welcomed by a very nice lady that also took the time to give us pointers to discover this wonderful region. I highly recommend!

Simply the most amazing home made ice cream ever ! Having a cup of mango ice cream on a hot sunny day was just out of the world , loved it .

If all those books like “1000 Places To See Before You Die”, or “The 120 Best Sights In Provence” weren’t written by idiots, this place would be in all them. Tiny, perfect, local, and delicious. Nathalie is a treasure.

Great homemade ice creams with plenty of flavors to choose from. On top of that very friendly service!! And make sure you have enough space left because the portions are quite big.
Annemieke V — Google review
One of the best ice cream in the region, selection includes some less prominent flavours such as the rum-raisin and pinacolada.

Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Masaki YAMAMOTO is a tiny but magnificent space with only three tables, making it cozy and intimate. The pastries and desserts, such as the Taiwan and Ananas Gingembre, are highly recommended for their amazing flavors and light sweetness. The service is exceptional, with staff helping patrons choose the best options. Visitors are impressed by the quality of pastries and creative flavor combinations.
The best Pâtisserie I found in Arles! Everything I ordered was delicious, especially the macaron with fresh raspberries. The coffee tasted incredibly clean and smooth. I wish I had more time to try more of their treats.
April W — Google review
Baba litchi is fantastic, outshines the other 2 patisserie we ordered. Dinning area is a bit lacking. I would say it is a bit pricy for Arles.
Fiona F — Google review
Tart chocolate yuzu is Incredible… I’m not even joking probably better than some patisserie in Paris I love the combination of Japanese and French pastries. Flavors are well coordinated, absolutely the best in Arles
Sharon — Google review
Agree with other reviews that this is one of the most underrated places in Arles. I would show a picture of what I ordered, but it did not last that long! Was able to get a good size Cafe Americano and loved the ambiance.
Joe C — Google review
Simple: GO. Très TRÈS MAGNIFIQUE. Super tiny space to dine in (three tables maybe, squeezed in along the queue). I had two pastries/desserts...because I had read other reviews and well, they looked amazing! The Taiwan and Ananas Gingembre...so excellent! Taiwan was perfect amount of light sweetness and I could taste the hint of oolong creme blended so beautifully w the other flavors. I love Ginger so tried the Gingembre..sooo glad I did. It was also super light. And again, such a masterful balance of flavor combinations, and texture. This is a can't miss spot in Arles for me!
JJ S — Google review
We returned at least twice every day in Arles - this is the most underrated patisserie I've maybe ever been to. Pastries, ice cream, quiche, all a dream and of exceptional quality.

Bread Fest is a charming bakery and cafe located near the Gehry Tower, offering a relaxing spot to enjoy delicious quiches, sandwiches, and pastries. The friendly staff and great coffee add to the experience. However, seating may be limited during peak hours. Customers highly recommend the almond croissants, olive sticks, and nut praline cake for their exceptional taste and affordability. Despite the language barrier, visitors appreciate the warm service from the staff.
The croissant and baguette were fantastic here

We visited during heavy rain when the bakery was quiet, and the service was excellent. We loved their sandwiches and baguette, and the Paris-Brest was quite good as well. A great spot to stop by!

(Translated by Google) Super good ice cream, flavors both original (hibiscus for example) and more "conventional", there is definitely what we are looking for. The flavors are incredible with warm and helpful staff. Don't hesitate to go there, especially as the intimate corner makes the tasting even more pleasant. 😁 (Original) Super bonne glace, parfums à la fois originals (hibiscus par exemple) comme plus "conventionnels", il y a à coup sûr ce qu'on recherche. (Translated by Google) Certainly the best ice cream tasted in the last 10 years (8 flavors tested, only the pear was a little disappointing with a slight taste of bugs). Real ice cream without synthetic flavors or coloring but with lots of taste. Some original perfumes.
