The most PERFECT ice cream shop experience! My friends and I stopped by and were immediately greeted with warm hospitality. All the staff were phenomenal! Aloe was super friendly, knowledgeable, and full of passion for the shop’s story. They shared some really cool history about the place and gave us fantastic recommendations on the house-made flavors. Every scoop we tried was delicious and bursting with unique and well-balanced flavor. We’ll definitely be back for more!

My favorite ice cream in the Triangle! Unique options that are so flavorful. Their vegan ice cream is also delicious, which is rare!! Great service, too! Any time I am in Durham, I make sure I visit the Parlour.

High quality ice cream with friendly staff and unique flavors. They only had one chocolate-based flavor, so if you love chocolate this may not be the most exciting option (although the flavor was good!). The prices are reasonable for downtown Durham.

First time and from out of town stumbled on this ice cream shop and must say one of the best hot fudge sundaes I’ve had in long time. Got the vanilla/ cookies n cream flavor. Hot Fudge was real deal ice cream was air tight dense so good. Tasted like premium top grade cream curious to know if ice cream uses eggs in it.

The best ice cream I’ve ever had hands down!! Fresh ingredients, unique flavors with new additions regularly so you’re never bored, great service, the ice cream texture is perfect, baked goods are amazing. You can’t go wrong here!! Our favorites are anything with mint, key lime pie, birthday cake, coffee, and cookies and cream but honestly everything is fantastic. Don’t forget the hot fudge and sprinkles!! our recent Parlor visit 10-18-25 went poorly unfortunately: the wait was only a few people deep so that was fine but - 1. they would only make a shake with soft serve ice cream and not with the multitude of flavors on the board, 2. with two of four people in our party served the employee disappeared in a back room. We waited, and waited, made our way to the register where i explain we're not ready to check out yet because 2 of 4 have yet to get ice cream. "He went on break".......what? well we didn't know that and no one took over our group. "OH well any employee over there can help you." ya I understand that but now there's only 1 server helping the line of patrons. "I'm sorry sir but THIS is where you PAY, over THERE is where you GET the ice cream." I paid for 2 of 4 potential ice creams and when the auto-gratuity screen popped up, laughed out loud and advised the lil fella - "you won't mind if I go 'no tip' right? You were presented with a customer service opportunity to shine and you chose not to." Too many other places for ice cream to tolerate that nonsense.

This shop is a hidden gem! The service was very good and the staff was friendly. The quality of the ice cream is top-notch, creamy, and rich with a fresh homemade taste that really stands out. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a treat. Prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the high quality. Great gf blondie and gf breakfast potatoes! Also pictured is a chocolate chip scone, oatmeal, matcha latte, and Jamaican Me Crazy smoothie- no complaints from the table! Staff was very friendly and approachable and answered my questions very kindly and was helpful. Atmosphere is a 10/10, lots of natural lighting with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have serve your own water which is something I enjoy.

Mad Hatter’s can absolutely serve great coffee and baked goods. Their particular strength is the chocolate chip scone, brownies, and the sugar cookies. Croissants are also an excellent choice. I would recommend skipping their food menu items. It takes forever to get your food. I waited over 30 minutes today and it wasn’t the first time either —It always seems they have 1-2 highly overwhelmed people working the food stations but tons of staff on the counter and pastry sections. I ordered toasted avocado toast and it was stale, with barely a hint of avocado and an actual mountain of dry arugula. If you want hot breakfast just go get something across the parking lot but don’t miss the coffee or pastries!

I recently visited Mad Hatter (not the first time, but first time reviewing) which serves as a café, bakery, and restaurant all in one, and it was fantastic as usual! The food quality is outstanding, with fresh, flavorful dishes that left a lasting impression. Their baked goods were delicious, perfectly crafted and full of flavor. The coffee was rich and expertly brewed, complementing the overall dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, whether you’re there for a quick coffee or a full meal. The service was exceptional, very friendly, attentive, and fast. A perfect spot for any time of day!

It was my first time ordering here and I would do it again. The food here is amazing and freshly made, the staff are also really friendly, I dint need to wait long for my sandwich and white hot chocolate.

They have a small parking lot, you might have to park at the next business and walk here. I ordered the small Vietnamese coffee and it’s not strong and not worth it, just go to a real Vietnamese restaurant to order one it will be so much better. They have many pastry options here, and lots of chairs inside and outside.

This cafe made my stay at Duke University Hospital so much better. The service goes above and beyond; they make you feel welcome. The apple and raisin cake is delicious. Reina, thank you for your attention and warmth; you're the best.

Great food and coffee here but unfortunately it is very busy here. I can't say if that'd the case all the time, but for sure while I was there. Great and unique coffee, absolutely loved the Mexican white chocolate. The spicy chicken quesadilla and fries were also delicious. Took a little while for the food to come out but I'd say the price is worth it and it tasted great. Overall, solid place.

Delicious croissants. Great central and spacious space for meeting people. Fair prices. Tasty salads with homemade dressing. Free parking for cars and ample bike rack. Good deal for the day old stuff. My 2 wishes would be that they opened before 8. Kinda late open for a bakery if you ask me. I'd even be pleased with 730am, I'd certainly frequent more. And I wish they served Counter Culture coffee.

I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich. It was excellent. Perfect balance of meat peppers, cheese and siracha mayo. The roll it was in was also excellent. I wish this place was closer to my house. The side of coleslaw was refreshing and I was happy to find that they didn't add a bunch of sugar. I will be back!

I had a fantastic lunch at Ninth Street Bakery—the turkey sandwich was absolutely delicious, with all the ingredients tasting super fresh and flavorful. The portion was so generous that I had enough for a second meal! Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving a tasty and satisfying bite. Looking forward to trying their bakery goods!

FIVE-STARS! We love the high quality of Ninth Street Bakery products, especially the 7-Grain loaf, muffins, and more... Although we have visited their bakery and store in downtown Durham, most of the time we will pick up their products at the South Durham Farmers Market and Whole Foods in Raleigh.

You gotta love the vibe that is Durham NC and all the genuinely "on point" eateries. Ninth St. Bakery is one of those that strongly contributes to this vibe. I have only been here once so I can't say too much about the many offerings. I did have the "Spicy" pulled chicken sandwich and that's the reason for the missing star.. it was not "Spicy", it was bland. Everything else looked yummy but the chicken is all I tried.

Delicious sandwich. Got the club on 7 grain. Wow. And the coleslaw was great. No sugar. What a great lunch.

Fantastic counter service and a damn good, and generously sized, potion for $12. The double chocolate chip cookie was as big as my sandwich and quite possibly my favorite part of the meal. The cheese and veggie sandwich was great, I'll try the hummus and veggie next!

Best bakery I’ve found while living in Durham. Creative flavor and texture combinations of nuts, molasses, ginger, fruits, and cocoa are a refreshing substitute for the bludgeoning sweetness I have come to expect from desserts. Always fresh baked each morning with new selections. Pricing is all over the map so I tend to frequent the cookies—usually around a dollar. Every time I go I love the simplicity of pick, pay, walk away, but be aware that there is no seating in the bakery. I recommend sitting by the Carolina theatre.

Odes should be written about Loaf’s devotion to butter. As a Montreal, Canada expat, Loaf has been my French bakery oasis for the past 11 years. Everything they make is perfection and—no exaggeration intended, only serious facts here—my croissant-shaped heart and 2nd belly roll (a tribute to Loaf’s pain aux raisins) would wither without them!

Recently moved to the area and stumbled on this bakery. The man who assisted us knew all about the bread and let me explain the meal I was making and helped me pick the perfect loaf. It was delicious, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I have been going back every week. Please support them so I can keep eating these heavenly loafs.

Nanaimo Bars in Durham, NC?!! Who could ask for more? If you have never tried these, run, drive, pull up in your car, bring a friend or buy some to share. John (pictured here) and the other members of the team were so nice, helpful and welcoming. If you ever made these Canadian treats, you know that it is labor intensive but worth it. My friend had the almond croissant and it was delicious. I highly recommend this local Durham bakery. Thank you Loaf, you made our day!

Amazing pastries with a great vibe. The shop has a limit of 3 people in the store at a time. All the things i brought tasted fresh and so good. While you shop you can catch a glimpse of people making fresh breads in the back which was so cool. They have a wide selection and i will definitely go again!

Loaf Bakery is one of the few places in RTP that sells excellent butter and chocolate croissants. The almond croissants are good as well, though they aren’t made with the traditional French recipe. The experience, however, comes at a price. At $4+, the cost feels steep—but it’s not the bakery’s fault; it’s simply the going rate in the U.S. Unfortunately, this pricing makes what is considered a daily staple in France feel like a luxury treat here. For context, a butter croissant in France costs about €1—yes, just one euro... Pastries are also too expensive, but I guess locals are ok with it. As a conclusion, I also noticed that the size of the chocolate croissant has significantly decreased... Bread is also worth the drive.

Unbelievable bakery. The highlight of our two days spent in Durham. Staff was so friendly, the croissants were delectable, but the showstopper was the olive bread with the European butter they sell in the refrigerated case. We'd go out of our way to visit next time we are in the area.

This is a very unique place! The bakery is the highlight, their pastries and cakes are amazing. I especially loved the cinnamon carrot cake cheesecake and the passion fruit tres leches. I wasn’t as impressed with the savory foods here. The spring rolls were mostly filled with rice noodles, and the sandwich was good but overpriced and lacked structural integrity. Menu and baked goods seem to be constantly changing so it’s hard to know what you’ll get when you go, which is hard if you find a favorite dish that then disappears or prefer planning your meal, or it can be good if you like a surprise and variation and adventure. Staff are super nice.

Found this place while visiting Durham. There were no bad bites. Every bite was delicious. The food is good I would eat it again. I would recommend this spot to others. The desserts are an absolute must have.

Absolutely masterful. I don't know what these low reviews are about. I've been about three times now since April and each time has been amazing. Appetizers, spot on. Main course, delicious. The pulled noodles are just beautiful. I don't know about their sandwiches.... I always get the noodles. Pork were the best so far. Desserts... I can't really put into words how good. It can often be very busy so a reservation is probably required and even then we often have to wait ten minutes. But for a deliciously spicy and unique meal this is the place. And the pieces are amazing for the food you get. We just buy so much of it that it's way too much for a standard meal

This place is a little weird. To start off, almost everything has pork, so you already know that limits the menu to less than a handful of options to choose from as someone who doesn’t eat pork. Secondly, a little overpriced for a semi self serve restaurant. My noodle bowl was $18. Thirdly, if I hadn’t paid attention, I wouldn’t have realized that they charge you 4% MANDATORY hidden fee to cover THEIR vacations, and THEIR 401k, and THEIR insurance. Let me help myself before helping others! When I asked what this automatic charge is, the cashier pointed at the little sign on the counter explaining why. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. This should not be a mandatory fee whatsoever, but an optional one. While the veggies noodles (one of the only thinks I can get on their menu) was okay, because of hidden behavior like this, I won’t be returning back.

Rose's Noodles is a cute place on the outskirts of downtown Durham that offers its own twist on a ramen shop. When visiting around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. The restaurant had a couple people sitting outside with a few tables full and an open counter on the inside. The atmosphere is very cute. Having a open kitchen with areas dedicated to making their own homemade sweets. It seemed promising but outside initial expectations things deviated. My partner and I both ordered one of the steamed buns which looked just as they do in any of the other photos that you find, but while tasteful, did not feel fresh made and was actually not hot at all. All. The insides were warmed but it's hard for me to confirm if these were "freshly steamed". I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and my partner ordered the The pork option belt noodles. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious and had savory flavors with tender meat, and well cooked noodles. For my partner, her belt noodles were good but it was hard to acknowledge and enjoy The taste of the ingredients due to them being doused and chili sauce. To the point where it was inedible. This is a shame because the noodles were definitely homemade and quite delicious but could not be enjoyed. This would have not been as bad if our service would have made up for it and provided adequate water for us to accompany the burn of the noodles. After being sat and given the initial bottle of water to share at the table, the only way I was able to get service from there on was to flag down our server. At one point another table got up and went outside with their water bottle to refill it at the water tank that is provided for the people that are sitting outside. The food was delivered by one of the chefs, at no point did our waiter check on us to see how we were doing and we also had to flag them down when you were ready for the check after having not eaten a bite of food for over 5 to 10 minutes. The server seemed more occupied with folding menus and stamping takeout boxes than tending to their tables. The last thing to comment on was that even though it was a very cute restaurant, it looks like that wiping down surface area is not a priority. As The ledge that the flowers were sitting on had not been wiped for a couple days the dust that had accumulated around it was not a pleasant sight. Please see image. In summary, it could have just been an off day + maybe our expectations of the food were not correctly aligned, but I accomplished two trips in one visit being my first and my last. If tempted to go back it may be due to trying the sweets as I have heard good things but this will be a takeout experience rather than a dine in.

Cozy environment, very delicious, quality food. They have an extensive dessert bar which we enjoyed too. Waiting staff is very accommodating and nice. Menu is very straightforward which I really liked too. 10/10 would go again 🤗

Great place with great food. Very interesting how this restaurant is arranged. For me that is more like a cafe style. You can order food at the window with a cash register or from girls nearby with a device and pay for your order right there. Your order will be brought to you by a waiter and just like in a cafe, you choose the place where you want to sit. I like it very much! We didn't have to wait long for our food and coffee, even though the restaurant looked crowded. I really love croissants and I have to say that almond croissant was surprisingly exactly what a croissant should be - soft inside and crispy outside. The coffee was also very tasty. Kippered Salmon was amazing! I will definitely come back to this place for dinner.

Very popular breakfast choice we got there before they’re opened and I was already a line. There is no table service for ordering food. You must stand in a line and order your food and it’s hard to get a refill of coffee. I found the food to be quite tasty and yummy with a slight German influence at least on the breakfast menu many of the seats are outside. There’s a small inside area. The outside has a lovely garden with cool weird statues. There’s a separate line for the bakery so you might wanna get in that line 1st get a snack while you wait over a half hour to put in your order.

We came here for breakfast — just like the hundreds of other people standing in line that morning. Right away, I’ll say this: you’ve got to come early. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes, sometimes more. We waited about 40 minutes before getting in. Honestly, they could make the line process a bit smoother. While we were waiting, I noticed a bunch of empty tables, but the line was still barely moving. It also wasn’t super clear at the end where exactly you’re supposed to go — like whether to walk up to the counter or wait to be seated. It would really help if they had more printed menus outside, so people could decide what they want ahead of time instead of taking forever at the counter. Best move? Check out the menu online before you go. Now, about the food. We ordered a strawberry cheese danish, which was really good. For our daughter, we got pancakes. My wife had the lamb gyro (or something similar), and I ordered a tuna sandwich on sourdough. Though technically, it was more like a tuna spread than a sandwich — but it was delicious. Not super filling, but really tasty. My wife liked her gyro too, though she said it was a bit awkward to eat — maybe they could plate it differently. Our daughter loved her pancakes and the cherry cheese danish — both were excellent. So for food, we’d give it 5/5. Atmosphere-wise, it’s a fun spot — lively and busy, especially in the morning. I’d love to come back during Oktoberfest to really feel the vibe. Definitely another 5/5 for atmosphere. Now for service — that part I wasn’t thrilled about. You have to get your own water, utensils, and napkins, though they do bring the coffee to your table. I just don’t really get why they ask for 18–25% tips at the counter when you’re basically doing half the work yourself. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it did feel a bit off. Still, it didn’t ruin the experience — just something they could improve on.

Wow is an understatement, outstanding bakery, and food great menu. We enjoyed it so much. We are returning for breakfast before we fly out on Sunday morning. It was so good. I had to tell my cousin’s wife who is German about it so they can visit when they are up in this area. This is definitely on a go to list now every time we come up to visit our granddaughter at Duke.

Every dish was generous in portion, high quality, and also, rather fairly priced for what I would call a pretty bougie setting. Lots of parking and service is quick. Outdoor seating is very nice and scenic, but there’s limited indoor options. The hot chocolate is very good and doesn’t just taste like Swiss miss!

I actually really enjoyed my time here! Although you have to line up to order your food, the line does move relatively quickly and the staff is super nice. You would hope for a really good day so that you can sit outside. I think that's better than sitting inside, but there is inside seating as well. Also, if there are multiple people in your party, you can take turns and go get snacks from the bakery to eat while you're waiting in line to order your food. I would definitely recommend brunch. * parking was surprisingly not a total nightmare. It's almost like as you're coming someone is leaving so they're legit was always a spot and they have a parking lot in the back. I couldn't tell you how to get there, but there is one.

Without a doubt, some Of the best food you will eat anywhere. I consider the prices the lowest I've seen for the high quality of food. The deserts/cakes are to die for. The food shop has wonderful selections to take home. If you are near Durham, you have to visit!

Loved bringing my dog here and having a wonderful brunch. I like how they were set up to seat yourself, order upfront and someone will deliver your order. It made for fast service.

The place was heaving with people when we came in Saturday for late breakfast/brunch, but the ordering situation (at the counter with lots of folks taking orders) made things move along super-quickly. We had my brother and sister-in-law's dog with us and sat outside, where "all animals are welcome." (Hank is kind of an anxious fellow but after a little medication and a treat he settled pretty well -- we were in the section to the right of the front door, down a few steps, which was unoccupied except by us for the majority of our visit.) I ordered the omelette with corn, asparagus, and I don't know what else, but it was massive and SOOOOO good! Wish I had paid attention to the sauce but it made the dish. Came with home fries that were also delicious. SIL had avocado toast, brother had chilaquiles, and both of their plates were spotless when they finished (WITHOUT help from Hank 😉), and we all enjoyed our coffees, one brewed and two fancy. The staff was amazing and friendly, the lines moved quickly, and the atmosphere was fun and congenial. Will definitely be back and bringing more visitors!

Overall really great! I loved the ham egg and cheese biscuit, and my dirty chai latte was amazing. The chai actually tasted like high quality chai. I also had tiramisu and it was great! Everything was maybe a touch pricy so I won’t come here all the time, but I will say the food was worth it if you feel like splurging. LGBT friendly as far as I’m aware, I’m visibly queer and was treated well. Gravel parking lot and mixed terrain floors inside, so if you have physical disabilities navigating the space might be challenging. They do have a ramp into the building. I added some videos of the handicap parking and the parking lot/floors.

Nice cozy place that serves breakfast and lunch. We were in Durham area and looking for a nice local place to support. Foster’s Market definitely matched what we were looking to find. We both ordered sandwiches that were fantastic. Nice size and well made. I ordered the Jammin Turkey Breast Sandwich (very yummy) with just the right amount of spice from the pepper jelly. My wife ordered the Roasted Turkey Breast sandwich, which she really enjoyed. Very nice place to visit with friendly people and plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. If in the area you need to visit.

A fun, eclectic restaurant with a deliciously diverse menu that makes you want to come back again and again until you have tasted every item on the menu. You feel like you step back in time as you peruse the old-time candy collection and the ample selection some of the tastiest cakes and pastries on earth. There is a separate coffee counter where you can get an excellent cup of made-to-order coffee just the way you like it. There is indoor and covered and sort of uncovered outdoor seating. It was a perfect day when we went, and we sat on the covered porch and made a memory of a lifetime with the family. I plan to make this an annual family sojourn. I can’t wait to return to this “destination restaurant” in Durham. Highly recommended, be prepared for a great time and delicious meal!

Cocoa Cinnamon is one of my favorite coffee shops in Durham. The quality of the coffee and syrups is amazing and I feel great supporting this local business. My go to is an iced Guadalajara but I have tried their lattes and churros, which were also amazing!

I love cocoa cinnamon, it’s quickly become one of my favorite coffee stops in durham. good service, fast and good coffee, and delicious snacks from ninth st bakery available along with a full list of ingredients - my favorite is the gluten free m&m monster cookie. indoor and outdoor seating available. it can be a little uncomfortable sometimes when the homeless approach or stare but is otherwise a lovely place to hang out and chat or work.

Not terribly impressed. Coffee was Ok, pastry I had Ok. Over priced, tight space in old building,lots of activity outside- cars passing, school groups passing, some questionable vagrants about. Ok for collage students, but not a quiet cozy atmosphere. My wife ordered a Mokha coffee, I ordered a Carmelo coffee. When they called my name, I came up to take both of them to the table we had outside. I tasted each one and couldn’t tell the difference between either one. They had very little flavor, maybe some coffee flavor, but watered down. The chocolate croissant I had had very little chocolate in it . The cinnamon roll I had was doughy with sugary top was OK,for what it was.

Love this place, I’ve had two of their hot chocolate flavors (on repeat for days) and they are so so good 🤤 Its a super cool place to work from, love the outdoor sitting and the sunlight it gets, their team is also super sweet.

The vibe of this place is absolutely amazing. This was our first time…staff seemed to be very kind to the regulars- responsive at best to us- I got a peppermint tea but tbh it was just hot water- no flavor of peppermint. Daughter got a delicious dark hot chocolate with added cayenne. It was amazingly velvety and just perfectly yummy.

Great day for a bit of brunch outside. The vegetarian quiche and side salad is a big yes, with great outdoor weather and a variety of other options for future visits.

I went here over the weekend and had a craving for something topped with pico de gallo—paired with a glass of champagne, of course. The vibe was great, and the food hit the spot. Just a heads-up: it’s a bit on the pricey side, so bring your wallet—but it’s definitely worth it. Bonus: if you don’t finish your wine or champagne, they’ll bag the bottle for you to take home.

This was a "happy little accident"! We originally came over here for Guglhupf, and pulled into this parking lot, decided to go in, and we're more than pleasantly surprised! The food is flavorful, healthy, and I feel full-and clean- eating it! I had the Fresh Strawberry smoothie and Baked Oatmeal. The smoothie is so fresh- like it came from a garden! The Baked Oatmeal is just that! It's crunchy on top from being baked, it's slightly squishy in the middle with blueberries. I love oatmeal and this made my day! My fiance had French Toast and his face lit up! It has not lit up like that in YEARS!! Over the moon happy!!

Had brunch here on a Saturday morning after hearing a lot of good reviews. I had the All You Avo Wanted Toast, two types of donuts and a Chai latte. The chai was great but the food and donuts were just okay. The service was good but the person at the counter could be more friendly and smiling. My fav part was definitely the tables outside in the shade.

The staff was so welcoming and the establishment is clean and bright. We ordered the chocolate milk, chai chocolate donut, a mocha latte and the rocket fuel burrito. The food is tasty and fresh. Definitely a great breakfast spot!

This place might be my new favorite breakfast spot! My husband and I decided to try this place and loved everything about it! Everything is made fresh and the taste proves it! We loved their story about paying their employees a living wage. We tried a variety of things today and can’t wait to go back! The quiche was so delicious, definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. We tried many different pastries and enjoyed all of the flavors! My mocha topped it all off. The atmosphere is great and the customer service is too! We can’t wait to come back and bring friends.

The food here is good but I’m just SO fed up with the slow service on take out orders. I ordered a to go order at 8:15 am, knowing it would be packed on a weekend, which is fine. The estimated time for pick up was 9:30. Cool. I get there at 9:30 and the FOOD is ready. It’s 10 am and I still haven’t gotten my coffee. My food is getting cold and I can’t wrap my head around why it takes 1.5 hours to make a coffee? I could have eaten in and left by now! So annoying

Monuts is a Durham staple with delicious donuts and pastries, well made coffees, and teas, and a savory spread to meet any craving! We got a variety of donuts, two bagel, breakfast sandwiches, and some lattes. Everything was delicious. Sometimes the parking can be challenging, and the biggest downside would be that it’s very challenging to get a hot donut! But if you can… Yum!

Monuts is an absolute gem in Old West Durham! The cafe is a perfect destination for breakfast, brunch, and lunch; and you can feel good supporting a local business that pays their employees a living wage! The food at Monuts is incredible with a focus on delicious baked goods, inventive sandwiches, and fantastic coffee drinks. Their menu changes on a seasonal and sometimes weekly basis, so it's easy to keep coming back to see what their current offerings are. In addition to sandwiches, you can also enjoy lunch items such as soup, salads, and quiche! Everything is made from scratch, in-house, no pre-made mixes here. if you're visiting on the weekend, come early and be prepared for the crowd, this place gets packed!

Like most people I became familiar with Dolce cafe because of TikTok. Although the cafe isn’t extremely large, and the line for the pastries was so long it was blocking the door customers and the cafe staff were kind. I went with my sister and we both were happy at the speed of which the line was moving. We ordered our food to-go and weren’t there for more than 15-20 minutes (start to finish). I HIGHLY recommend going to try their viral pastries and their other foods as well. They have high quality food items that are a great price and the portions look filling (from what I could see). Overall 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back.

Last time I was in Raleigh I came by right after they went viral (unexpectedly but understandably!). I was able to try the Fun Guy only since the case was cleared out at that time of day and I was hooked. Came back in town this weekend and knew it had to be our first stop. We got there about 9:00am and it was a much better time to go. The cases were stocked and we had our picks! The cashier taking our order was so sweet and very helpful! We didn’t try one thing we didn’t like - including the gluten free chocolate raspberry cake! I have to say my favorite was the peach followed closely by the pear and the apple. We were SO impressed by the realism! From the last time I went, I could tell the staff was more prepared for the influx of people coming to enjoy their creations. :)

We loved the Dulce Cafe !!! I highly recommend the murano cake, it was absolutely delicious!! The fruit deserts were so impressive and all tasted very fresh and colorful. The service was amazing, all of the staff was very kind and extremely helpful!! I would love to come back next time and try a coffee, but the deserts are beautiful and much better than I expected. They weren’t waxy or covered in fondant which was a worry of mine they were all light and very flavorful!! I highly recommend this place and whatever the owners and staff are doing they should keep it up!!

I’m running off 3 hours of sleep and pushing deadlines at work. After dropping my son at school I came to Dulce this morning, and it did not disappoint. Besides the staff, that always makes me feel welcomed, Dulce serves more than delicious food and amazing coffee. They are serving care and beauty. It’s something to look down at a meal and truly feel cared for. Truth is, that’s not something you can buy. And the only place I’ve experienced that is at my mother’s house or during Friend’s Giving every November. I rarely post reviews for my favorite places in Durham because I don’t want too many people knowing. But TikTok made Dulce famous. The world knows them, what’s amazing is that they haven’t let that compromise anything. So next time you stop by Dulce, remember they don’t have to make the pastry or granola you ordered beautiful. They do it because they care. It’s a love language quickly running out. Let’s take care of the businesses that love us.

While the food takes a little while to come to the table, the experience was very unique. Of their cakes are made there and they are so adorable. The chocolates are definitely made there! We had a coffee and Cafe LA and they were just perfect. It wasn't too crowded when we went which was very nice and we got to get the full experience. We each had a cheese and egg sandwich. My partner had a croissant and it was light and fluffy. I had white toast and it was very crunchy but I enjoyed every mouthful.

came here with friends and place is very cute!! i got the mushroom and lemon because they sounded the best, my friends got peach and pear, they said it was good! when i tried the mushroom it was very good! not too sweet which is nice, i hate overly sweet desserts. when it comes to desserts i am a wimp because i get headaches easily from sweets!? sadly this place gave me a headache but thats okay! our server was so insanely sweet, i had bought one of the sweets for my grandmother, sadly we had a lemon that had broken off the green cake. once i told our server she gave us another one FREE of charge!!! thank you! i rate this place a 9/10!!! super yummy!

Came here after my sister in law saw it on TikTok and it was amazing! The food was delicious and desserts were so much fun and tasted wonderful (If you're a mango lover, you just have to try their mango cake!) Everyone was so friendly too and it really made the experience great. Parking can be a little tricky and with it going viral there is a wait but it's absolutely worth it. We look forward to coming back again soon

Great location, vibe, and staff. The food is just ok. Not memorable, nor did anything have us saying to each other, ‘You gotta try this.” The Doughnuts were nice. But my Fried Fish and Grits (not really grits) needed some help in the flavor department. The pancakes were heavy, and the burger was overcooked blah. It was a Saturday morning rush, so perhaps that didn’t help. And our server was a bit fluttered. I probably won’t go back with so many other brunch options.

Went for Sunday brunch. Place was busy but not too busy so we were seated promptly and the order was taken at a reasonable time. Food came out quickly and we enjoyed our meal. Mine was a taco thing that I forgot what the name was and my gf got the chicken and eggs. we also ordered a side of hash brown. The reason for 4 instead of 5 was due to a mistake on the server. She charged the wrong table for my card so they had to go back and fix it. Other than that it was good.

Had the Tex-Mex Omelette and the Crullers (basically donut-shaped Churros). The omlette was fluffy and delicious with creamy cheese and a lot of jalapeños (I put some aside to reduce the heat a bit) and sweet, caramelized onions. The omolette is served with the best hash browns I have had in a long time, with just the right ratio of potato and onion. I was hesitant to get the Crullers but my friendly server Samantha reminded me that I could always take any leftovers to go (you get three)...that wasn't necessary. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy/creamy on the inside with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar coating and served with a bit of heavy whipped cream and slightly tart jam. The place is spotless and I sat at the counter overlooking the front line kitchen, which was also spotless. The staff cooking and serving were all super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Highly recommended.

We went to this place accidentally, but feel in love with it from the moment we stepped in. The open kitchen and modern decor, combined with warm staff was all very welcoming. We meant to stop for a drink n snack but ended up having our meal here. The honeysuckle cocktail was light and refreshing. The pimento cheese and crackers was one of the best I've tasted. I've never seen a fried smelt fish on the menu anywhere else. It was unique and delicious. The tomato soup n homemade croutons were hearty. Finally, the shrimp banh mi sealed the deal. It was a great sandwich. We had a lovely time and will come back for more, as they had some very interesting items on their menu.

Excellent breakfast spot. We loved the mother and child reunion, the Julia Child omelette and the fresh-squeezed OJ (the machine is right there in the dining area!). They should let customers choose the oranges from a basket. The portions are generous and delicious. We will be back.

Great food and cocktails. Excellent service within a nice atmosphere. I appreciated that they had both indoor and outdoor options with heaters for outdoors. On a busy Saturday, there was about a 20 min wait for an indoor table. I definitely want to give kudos to ownership/management for requiring proof of vaccination for indoor dining. Helped make me feel safer eating indoors. Thank you!

Service was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food just was not good. At all! The saving grace was the crullers for dessert. The wings were so salty they burned my tongue. The pouting fries were soggy and the cheese curds were flavorless. The gravy was good but used excessively in the dish. Crullers..... were to die for. I have heard their brunch is good. I will go back and try because the staff was so nice

Was excited to try this place off a friends recommendation, but I waited 15 minutes for a cold brew with a splash of milk and maple flavoring, which ended up being an insanely thick layer at the bottom. I had asked for cold foam on top but it definitely wasn't present when I got the drink. The coffee tasted fine, albeit sickly sweet, but I am unlikely to return.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the area. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, with the indoor space divided into three comfortable sections that feel open and welcoming. The café is spacious, perfect for relaxing or working. The menu offers a wide variety of food and drinks, all consistently delicious.

This cafe is low-key amazing. 5 starts aren't even enough for the service I receive. Nearly every barista there knows me by name and memorized my drink order. You just don't get service like this anywhere anymore. The coffee is fantastic, with a variety of flavored drinks and highly superior traditional coffee and espresso. If Dawson is working, don't miss this kids espresso. Smooth, complex, and just the right amount of bitter. The day dreaming dirty Hippie is my favorite sweetened coffee drink available anywhere!

Coffee has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. In fact it all comes back to when I was at home and my mom made me a cup. Now I like to come here and think back on those times, and I think other people do too. Let's all keep moving forward and continue being best friends and going to Bean traders. It's a good place with calm relaxing vibes, only thing is that the people can be a little scary. It really brings in a young crowd and you know how those types can be. I just like to sit down at the store with my cup of coffee and pray that no one approaches me because young people are so scary. An unassuming bakery that specializes in delightful pastries - more of a bakery than a coffee shop - as the staff seemed unfamiliar with what a red-eye is. I love the variety of unique pie and pastry flavors available, and they also offer a limited selection of sandwiches made with their freshly baked breads, which are available for purchase.

This place is a gem. The breads are to die for the cranberry pecan is one of my favorites. They have coffees and pastries. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose. The Ladies are wonderful and so sweet! The atmosphere and vibes are great, the tables are old sowing tables. The strawberry croissant was so refreshing. 10/10 you should definitely come here!

Excellent apple turnover and a great latte. The pastry was so light and fluffy, you almost needed to tie it down to keep it from floating away. Nice peaceful respite on a hot Sunday afternoon. Server was great, polite and welcoming. And how often can you eat your pastry seated at a treadle sewing machine.

I am from the New York-New Jersey area, and I can tell you that this is a high quality bakery!! You can tell by the way the croissant flakes off, its the highest quality and freshest ingredients possible. All of the pastries that I had were very, very good, my wife had a ham and cheese and pesto sandwich on a croissant, she said it was extremely good because the ingredients were high quality and very fresh. That’s what made it taste so delicious. Though the owner (a French baker) retired, the staff continued his high quality and continues to uses his French recipes. A very friendly staff made the whole experience a delight!! We will definitely be back again. Though, I do wish that they put more chocolate in the chocolate croissants. I’m a bit of a chocoholic!! UPDATE 2/08/2024 My wife and I have been here 4x now. Great bakery, best in Durham!!! It never disappoints!! UPDATE 11/8/2024 This is our favorite place for coffee and bakery items!! I placed a catering order for a baby shower and WOW, everyone loved the food! The sandwhiches may be one of the best I’ve ever had. And all the desserts were absolutely delicious. Not to mention the staff was incredibly nice and professional. I can’t wait to come in the bakery and try more!!

Adorable quaint little shop that smells so good once you walk in (especially after being in the aquarium shop in the same complex). Got an iced vanilla latte that was that great combo of strong espresso, sweet, and creamy. And the ham and cheese croissant was so damn good. Absolutely will go back!

Purchased 3 cakes and a cupcake. The carrot cake was moist and good. The Strawberry cake was absolutely terrible. Dry and tasted like too much extract was used because had a strong taste and smell. The vanilla cake with chocolate icing was dry but icing was good. The crumb cupcake was ok. But for $9 a slice I expected more.

I'm particular about red velvet cake, and theirs is awesome!! Moist and the frosting is good too! I'm usually a cupcake person, so I've tried all flavors over the years. Other than the parking being tight sometimes, this is my recommended cake spot in the area.

My family and I visited this dessert shop on multiple occasions, and we were disappointed by the lack of customer service. Despite spending a significant amount of money, the owner never acknowledged us or thanked us for our business, even when we were leaving. We also found the prices to be quite high, with one slice of cake costing $9. We didn't spend a little bit of money, it was a hefty amount! The owner claimed this was due to the high cost of eggs, but this doesn't seem to align with the current market. Given the shop's location, it seems to have little competition, which might be a factor in its business practices. We believe that true success comes from appreciating your customers. This is the result of supporting a black owned business!

Great tucked away spot for coffee and pastries. We tried some of their savory and sweet pastries and they were all delicious. We tried their chocolate and pistachio bar, as we're wrapped up in the "Dubai Chocolate" fad, and this was one of the best spin offs that we've tried. Seating can get tight but we made it work for a group of 6. I ordered their Valentine's Day "Lover's Box" which they do seasonally and recommend that as well - mark your calendar now!

I recently ordered from La Recette Patisserie’s catering menu for my baby shower, and I couldn’t be more impressed! They were incredibly accommodating and patient with my requests, making the process seamless. The cake pops, mini cupcakes, and strawberries were absolutely delicious—seriously a huge hit with all the guests! Not only did they taste amazing, but they were also beautifully curated and crafted with such attention to detail. I received so many compliments and had to sneak a few for myself before they were all gone! I’m so grateful to have worked with them on such a special day. Highly recommend their bakery for any occasion and to stop by and have a treat, tea or coffee!

Ordered a full dessert spread for a big anniversary/reunion bash at a local farm. Djamila worked with us to figure out the right menu for our event, factoring in everything from guest preferences to location and weather, and it all turned out so lovely! Would def recommend.

Talk about a hidden gem. It is located on an inconspicuous plaza and on the back of the building, that no one would drive around unless you knew it. The pastries and sweets are super well thought, balanced and somewhat with a unique taste profile, Mediterranean perhaps? They are delicious! The owners are so sweet, super attentive and kind. I had a cardamom latte and was worried of the cardamom taste being too strong, but it was well balanced and I enjoyed the whole experience. Our area has so many good bakery/pastries/coffee shops, but this one totally worth the visit! I will be back!

Sweet Charlie's is a great place to take kids. The ability to watch your ice cream being chopped up, smeared, and rolled is entertainment for children of all ages, and it's white tasty to boot. The menu is limited but caters to a variety of tastes and they have vegan options. I'll add that, while I'm no vegan, I do love their vegan ice cream base. Summary: very good ice cream and great entertainment value with both dairy and vegan options. Give it a shot.

The ice cream is delicious & we enjoyed watching the process as it came together! The young lady was very helpful with ordering and friendly. "Namaste" was the flavor I chose with whipped cream, extra strawberries & teddy grahams. My daughters had the birthday cake ice cream with m&ms, sprinkles & chocolate chips. We'll be back.

So loved this place. Got the Charlie's with the doughnut and it is now my favorite dessert..the rolled ice cream with the sugarly warm doughnut was just amazing. The doughnut was the perfect vessel and it just soaked up all the melted ice cream and man was it heavenly. And to top it off, you get unlimited toppings. A definitely must visit place.

There are "long boy" donut rolls, that look like an ice cream hot dog, where the bun is a donut..... This place is awesome. A totally different take on ice cream, and the "flavors" are on-point. I got 2 and split 1 =kid+me 1=kid+wife and it worked out well for me. The s'mores one was awesome. Also, the staff here are very nice and they run a tight ship. Overall a 5+ star activity for a Sunday afternoon.

Smallcakes made a delicious and beautiful 4-tier almond cake for our August wedding. The guests were blown away by the design and taste of the cake. People kept coming up to us afterward commenting on the cake. We did an at-home cake tasting and phone consultation beforehand. The cakes were delicious, and everyone was super professional. Highly recommended for wedding cakes! You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered a basic two-tier chocolate cake with buttercream frosting online for my wedding by sending them a reference image. Though the correspondence via email was somewhat lacking, they really delivered on the cake! Also, dspite my wedding being on the hottest day of the summer, the wedding cake withstood the heat and I received complements all around! Very pleased!

I LOVE cupcakes and this shop's cupcakes do not disappoint! I've been there a few times and have tried 4 of their 12 flavors- Pink Vanilla, Pink Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and Birthday Cake. Every one of them was SO good! The cake is a delicious, dense cake and the buttercream frosting is a thick sugary delight! Birthday Cake is my favorite because it is just like the cupcakes my mom used to make for me. Love the rainbow sprinkles! I've also had their cake pops and highly recommend those as well!

I loved the atmosphere and customer service was good. I got the lemon drop and rum raisin cupcakes. I was a little disappointed that the icing on the lemon drop cupcake didn’t have any lemon flavor. Not saying the icing was bad…just expected more lemon flavor. The cupcake itself was really moist. The rum raisin cupcake was really good. I will go back and try more flavors.

I love Smallcakes. Even though they are a chain, I enjoy the weekly features. With over 200 flavors I always find something new to try. The Durham location had Mudslide, a devils food cake with coffee cream cheese filling, chocolate frosting, and topped with a few chocolate chips. I had to try it! When we arrived Emylia greeted us and was very friendly. But then she broke my heart and said they were all out of the Mudslide cupcakes. After finding out that I was visiting the area and drove over to get this one cupcake… she made me one. Thank you Emylia! It was so good. I’m a chocoholic and am always looking for a new way to enjoy it. It was moist, decadent, and worth my begging and sob story. The shop is super cute with a chandelier and happy bright decor. They have plenty of options and they all looked yummy. Emylia told us their sister store is right around the corner from Charlotte in Huntersville, NC. Smallcakes didn’t disappoint in this flavor. The only thing that could have made it better would be an adult version. Stop in if you are looking for a sugar fix, need dessert options to celebrate your special occasion, or want to surprise your coworkers, friends or family with a sweet treat. They are sure to have something to please everyone.

OMG where do i even begin with barb, her team, the treats and classes. I have taken 2 cake classes with barb, enjoyed MANY treats from the case and ordered several custom orders, and never ever have i been unsatisfied. my custom cakes always turn out so beautiful and are the center of my party every year, any get eaten down to the last crumb they’re always so delicious. cake classes at the food hall are so fun and you actually learn something! i hosted a private one earlier this year and barb and her team were so easy to work with and coordinate and all my girlfriends da LOVED the cake class and the cake was delicious. as far as dropping in for random goodies i always feel safe trying something new as i know barb and her team knock it out of the park. LBB is a staple in durham and an instant classic in this community. couldn’t imagine a perfect durham afternoon without stopping by to see one of the many smiling faces in her little corner. 10/10

Buyer beware. I ordered a strawberry crunch cake for a special occasion and I was excited to try it because Barb's bakery and this cake in particular was highly recommended. I am very sad to say that it was not good. The cake was a gluey disgusting mess. We served it to our party and the bulk of them refused to eat it. When I discussed it with the owner she did not accept that there was an issue, that we just didn't understand her kind of cake. So I spent $95 on a cake that was inedible and when I brought it to the owner's attention she had only excuses and refused to offer even a partial refund. Do not buy from this business. They do not take ownership of their mistakes and make no effort to correctt hem. I have never spent so much for such a disgusting poorly made cake.

Absolutely loved my experience with Little Barb’s Bakery! I ordered a cake for a special occasion, and not only was it adorable—seriously, the cutest cake I’ve ever seen—it was also unbelievably delicious. It was almost too pretty to eat… almost. Highly recommend!

Made our wedding cake. We started with the sampler and made it a date. We found the right cake that was perfect for us and Barb was great in making sure everything was delivered and ready to go. Enjoyed it so much we got the same cake for the smaller local family two weeks later. I don’t like these one star reviews and felt it was important to share my extremely positive experience.

I've heard about this place from TV and word of mouth. I tried to make a dinner reservation online but the website seemed to block typical dinner hours or their reservation was completely filled up far in advance. In any case, I've decided to try the lounge which opens at 3 and it's first come first serve. This place had great atmosphere. The decoration was unique. Totally southern barnyard feel. We ordered tomahawk ($95) and beef ribs ($40). In many reviews, people complained about their overprices, but considering the crazy inflation of beef prices these days, I thought their price was not unreasonable. However, the taste and quality of steaks were not as good as it looked. The meat was rather tough and bit dry. Unfortunately I cannot give more than 3 stars for that reason. It was a shame. I had a high expectation.

An amazing place!! From the cheese and crackers to the crudités platter to the juicy shrimp cocktail to the scrumptious filet mignon to dessert, the food was delicious! Jake was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. His sense of humor helped us relax and enjoy our meal and family time! The decorations were exceptional! It is a little pricey, but well worth it!

Visited for the first time this past Labor Day weekend. I got the surf and turf which was recommended by the server. The food was good, just slightly overcooked in most of the dishes. Something I normally don't mind, but given the price point it is of mention. I would come back as the environment is enjoyable and we did enjoy the appetizers and such. Thank you.

Awesome vibes- it truly does feel like a barn but they treat you to specular food and great portions. Even with a huge party, we had outstanding service and everything was delicious. Great spot for good meat!

Came to the angus barn for an event and man I couldn’t believe how good it was. Our event was held in the Wine Cellar, a lot intimate space for <50 people. Plated meal with an awesome Filet with bourbon sauce. Did not have choice of how it was cooked but I didn’t mind. I like a more rare steak and this was medium rare cooked to near perfection. Outstanding service by the team and worth the time to spend. Would consider this environment and service for a small rehearsal dinner or corporate dinner any day of the week. Restored by interest in coming back to dine in main dining room.

We have a fabulous time every time we visit! I recommend coming early so you can enjoy the bar space out front before your reservation. They have complimentary cheese and crackers and it is a fun space to hang out in all weather. I'm vegetarian, but I get plenty to eat here. They have two pasta choices. All of the staff is helpful and nice! The decorations and many dining rooms are so interesting and they are so fun when they are decorated for Christmas!

It was great. Wonderful service, very professional servers who seem trained in fine dining. The vibe is very "fancy farmhouse/cabin/rustic" which is a style choice I generally dislike, however this is cozy and clean and it works well for what it is. The restaurant is huge. We asked and they said they can seat up to 800 people at a time. That's wild. The inside floor has brick and the parking lot isn't smooth, just a heads up for other thin pointy high heel girlies, this isn't the spot to wear stilettos. Dress code is all over, button down and jeans or full suit, either way you'll fit in just fine. I did like that everyone tried to look nice but it's not overly formal unless you're really in the mood for that. The way they present Desserts is interesting, they show you almost all of the options. The service was phenomenal, that was my favorite part.

We went for my mom's birthday. Everyone was very nice but our server was not overly attentive just average. I had the blackened salmon salad and the salad was very good but the salmon was just so-so. My husband had the prime rib and he said it was just ok. The rice pilaf looked like unfried fried rice you would get from a Chinese restaurant. My daughter had the turkey cranberry bog and said it was good. Mom had the fried shrimp and said they were good. Other plated at our table were hamburgers (just ok) and ribeye(said it was good). The nachos and cake were winners and the crab dip tasted fishy. They did honor mom's birthday with a 1/2 slice of cake.

Ordered carryout from Nantucket Grill during my break at work not long ago. This was my first time ordering food from this restaurant. I have had their strawberry shortcake a couple times and it is absolutely delicious! I decided to try their Jambalaya Pasta and Unbirthday Cake. The pasta was good but the cake okay. It was a little dry on this day. I will return for the strawberry shortcake when I need something sweet!

We ordered the crab dip, but it had a very fishy taste. The manager was understanding and removed it from the ticket, and we replaced it with the spinach dip. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy that dish either. When we asked about removing it, the manager said only one item could be taken off, which was disappointing and didn’t make much sense. The seafood pasta also wasn’t enjoyable, as it had far too many tomatoes. The one highlight was the steak, which was cooked well. The strawberry cake was yummy ! Overall, the experience was not satisfying, and I would not return.

If I could give a million stars I would!!! Hats off to the baker, chefs kiss and all of the above lol I requested a custom photo cake for my daughter’s college graduation from NCCU!!! 👩🏾‍🎓 When I say they put did themselves, they EXCEEDED anything I could have ask for is this short amount of time. Thank you for making my daughter’s day extra sweet lol everyone that ate the cake said it was soooooo good and moist and just amazing!!!!

We only stopped in to buy some cake to go. The service wasn't the most friendly. But the cake is the best. We drive out of our way to stop and pick some up.

My wife ordered the Filet Mignon and I the Surf and Turf. The filets were among the best we've ever had. We ordered dessert, too, and the portions were huge! And mine was a half slice of cake. (Not sure who is eating a whole slice!) Desserts were excellent too. The noise level was a little too high for me, being "hearing-challenged". But overall, it was an enjoyable meal. We will definitely return.

This is a hidden little spot for sure. If you are trying to find it look down the alley by the Durham Hotel. The sign for the restaurant is not too big, so it can be easily missed. Food for the price was ok I am a sushi critic and this was good but not something i would say really order again. The ambience was a vibe. I would recommend getting a reservation. They do have very limited seating. Parking garage is about less than one block away. On the weekends, I guess after a certain time is free because we were able to get out of the deck without paying.

I’ve eaten a lot of sushi and Japanese food in general, and this is among the best. The fish is incredibly fresh, and they combine flavors and textures very well, with simple but elegant presentation. The Grand Omakase was amazing start to finish! Service was very good, with a hiccup or two towards the end. Bar seating is really fun!

M Sushi is an incredible, fresh, and professionally delicious sushi establishment tucked away in Durham. On a busy night, I was lucky to find a seat at the bar. I then decided I would get the Grand Chef Omakase to get a full tasting menu to see everything the establishment had to offer. Every single dish I was presented with for the 7 course experience was incredibly beautiful and visually stunning, with the quality of food and taste going even further. It was all so fresh and cut or cooked to perfection. I had the privilege of sitting at the sushi bar as well, so I was able to watch the absolute masters put together these masterpieces. If you can ever experience the Grand Chef Omakase, it is very expensive, but worth it. This establishment makes art and it is spectacular.

My favorite little hideaway in Durham. Consistently excellent sushi, wagyu, and dessert. I’m obsessed with the lobster dumpling starter. Reservations are a good idea since it fills up even on weeknights. My only gripe: the pacing can feel rushed, with starters sometimes landing after mains or everything arriving at once. For the price I’d expect a smoother flow of service, but the food keeps me coming back.

We were 5 adults and the table was very tight for us. Most of us did the nigiri omakase which was alright. The fish selection was very good, but the rice was either too compacted or it fell apart when handling with the hands. The miso soup was decent and the sake was nice. We’ve previously done the grand omakase, and I definitely think the nigiri omakase is the better deal. I do feel that the price is still a little high for what you get, but that’s most likely a result of today’s world.

This is my absolutely favorite sushi place! I’ve been here so many times already, never disappointed. Sushi, rolls, small plates - all is super delicious. Book a table in advance especially for the weekend visit. And it takes a while to find parking.

Amazing sushi, I got the nigiri omakase which is totally worth it. The fish was super fresh, and the rice was at the perfect temperature and texture. Our server Kim was very knowledgeable and recommended great sake.

I ordered a couple bottles of wine (discoteca by Holiday) for pickup here because I couldn't find them local and saw them listed on their website. Online order was a breeze and once I realized it was a dessert shop with some souvenir-ish merchandise, I was excited to pick up the bottles. I swung by on Tuesday around noon and it was not very busy at all. I perused the dessert section and ended up getting a small cup of the chocolate peppermint soft serve. It was delicious and the perfect portion! The shop itself is cute, looks like it's a repurposed home and I enjoyed browsing through the merchandise. They had some interesting selections of wine and beer that I would definitely try next time.

Loved the place! Plenty of flavors to choose from, all super good! Personnel is really nice and attentive. Plenty of sitting area around place, recommend it!

Cute store. The Popsicles are a 10/10. You can tell they are made with real ingredients. I had the strawberry lemonade and it hit the spot.

LocoPops is more than delicious paletas - it's also a small store featuring local products and a moderately priced wine selection. First, the paletas - I tried the Mexican chocolate and the lemon curd. Both were great - super creamy and smooth textures. The Mexican chocolate wasn't too sweet, my concern when it's not dark chocolate, and the spices were complimentary and balanced. The lemon curd tasted like lemon curd - there were bits of lemon zest peppered throughout. They offer other frozen treats that I didn't try - ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, and other items. But if they're as good as the paletas, then they're worth a try. The other half of the store has food for before the ice cream - if you're an adult and follow those rules. Local products ranging from pasta, to bread, meats, and the like. Not all of the items are local - condiments, tinned fish, wines, and others. It's worth noting the wine selection - they work with a local distributor to pick wines at a certain price point. Most everything I saw was between $15-25 - I appreciate a place that works to keep a selection affordable. It ranged from whites to reds, some naturally fermented, and from all over the world - Italy, France, and Germany were some that I noticed. The bottles also had nice hanging tags that described the wine and what would be nice to pair with it. This was a great find on this work trip!

Delicious and creative ice cream shop! However, this is much more than just an ice cream shop. They also have cute cards and puzzles, and act as a locally-sourced grocery store with farm fresh milk, eggs, pasta, etc. Overall, this is up there with the Duke Gardens as one of my favorite places in Durham.

We ordered 100 mini pops for our wedding, and they were a hit! Their website is super easy for orders like this, especially for extras like dry ice and a cooler since we were low on freezer space. Highly recommended for any event!

I heard about a popsicle store in Durham and wanted to make sure we paid a visit, of course. Didn’t disappoint! Lots of great popsicle flavors and ice creams, too. Also neat: an attached tiny grocery store selling all kinds of food products. We had such a good time we went on successive nights! Has a nice outdoor space.

Greatly disappointed. Hardly any choices. Tried several donuts: chocolate, glazed, cinnamon and cake donuts. None stood out. All bland and rather tasteless. Split the apple fritter into four pieces to share because it was way too sweet. A few tables, clean but not particularly inviting. Despite the cute take out box....we are not going back.

Oh, so sweet donuts! Recommended! Clean, friendly hospitality and tasty sweets. It's tucked in a corner of shopping Plaza, you'll need to use Google maps! Enjoy, thank me later :)

Giant fluffy donuts! Don't need to waste money on those big donut chains when there is this gem! I bought 4 dozen for work and they were delicious! They didnt pre-fill with jelly and filled them on the spot. No soggy jelly donuts here!

The donuts were pretty fluffy and had a solid glaze. Not too heavy either, so definitely a plus. Solid enough variety for me, but I could see how others may want more.

My youngest asked for donuts Sunday a.m. Since our previous go-to is gone, tried Carolina Glazed Donuts for the first time. We tried the raspberry filled, cream filled chocolate glazed, chocolate brownie chip glazed, cinnamon crumble, and blueberry cake donuts - all were fresh and delicious 🍩🍩😋 and service was super friendly 😊 This will be our new go-to!

They offer lots of donut, however they sold out immediately if you come late. I came around 7 in the morning and still smell the freshly baked donut and all of them are still available. It’s affordable and I love their cream filling as well. It’s not too sweet for me and the owner/staff are nice and friendly.

The doughnuts here are SO good, and they make multiple batches throughout the day so there is rarely a lull in the fresh goods! (Unfortunately, like any good bakery, it is possible that they may be all snatched up if you come at the wrong time) We often go here after a long run to refuel, and it never disappoints. The Apple fritters are as big as my face and delicious. Also it's super cheap! Definitely would recommend.

Updating prices since they went up. Keep in mind this place only takes digital money, no cash is accepted here. Nowhere to sit to wait for your food. The chicken box was okay, the biscuit thickness is comparable to KFC & the size to Bojangles. The tenders had the tendon still in it, but tasted like it was made fresh. Honey mustard tasted like Ken's and the fries were not seasoned enough. Glad I went because I support local, but I missed the maple bacon bar.

How the mighty have fallen. This place used to be fantastic. The last several times I've gone it's been dreadful. The most recent time will be my last until something changes. Ordered first thing in the morning two chicken biscuits and what I received can only be described as the worst chicken biscuits I've ever had. Not only was it overcooked and over breaded (sad little piece of dry chicken) it was soaking in oil so much that we both had a stomach aches all day after only one bite. I was hungry and couldn't even finish it. The biscuit itself was dry and seemingly old, which is strange given that we picked them up at 7:15 a.m... were these yesterday's biscuits??! I followed up with their website and responded to their text request for feedback, and never heard back. Truly awful experience, which is sad because I used to really look forward to eating here. Minor side note: why is the default option when paying a tip? There is ZERO human interaction. Are we tipping at vending machines now?

Y'all, this place was amazing. You go in there is an order screen, place your order and wait, then they will call your name when it is done. The food is and was so good. It made me think of a song that Irene Carroll sung, "what a feeling ..." There is no cash transaction here, only credit or debit cards accepted here. The bacon, egg and cheese with a cheese biscuit. My wife had the Blueberry sausage biscuit 😋. If you are in the area of Durham, NC, check them out!

Limited interaction with the staff. You either order online or at the kiosk. The overhead menu moves quickly so it's best to check online before going in or you will create a line. Food was cold when we got our order and put tots were missing from our order. Its was our first time visiting so not sure if we would return based off this visit. There are no seats. It's a to go style environment.

Contactless, first and last time going here. Was trying to order and I had to use a tablet on the wall. Tried to order where I picked up my food but girl was on her phone and didnt acknowledge me. Next time I'll go to raising canes or zaxbys. Same stuff but the food and experience is alot better.

Bummed they took the veggie chicken off the menu- was absolutely in love with the place when they had it. Now it's a pretty good option downtown for a low-fuss breakfast sandwich and I appreciate that. They still have the option for fried green tomato and eggwhites. The customizations are pretty cool. Coffee not bad.They're speedy!

The hot honey was so delicious, definitely get this biscuit over the others. The chicken and grits were pretty mid. The Southern biscuit was also kind of mid. Honestly the hot honey flavor carried this review. Overall decent food for an affordable price!

Smallcakes catered my wedding and all the desserts were delicious. Cupcakes and cake were very moist and flavorful. All other items brownies and cookies were freshly made. Worth every penny and the staff was amazing.

Ella was absolutely amazing! She gave her personal opinion and ensured we had the best experience! The boxes are well-designed to ensure the cupcakes don’t move in transit. We were so happy when we got home and the cupcakes looked just as they did in pictures and at the store. The carrot cake cupcake was for me and it was PERFECT! Not too sweet. Not too carrot-y, if you know what I mean. Definitely coming back, and hopefully, it’ll be a night Ella’s working!

Dropped in on a whim. It was hard to pick one, so I got 4, and even that was hard. So many yummy flavors to choose from. They even have gluten free and vegan cupcakes and a special "pupcake" for your favorite fur baby. Not to mention how deliciously moist they are. The shop is a little tight, but the is my only complaint. The staff was great. Show yourself some love and drop in for a treat. You can thank me later. 😉

I ordered a smash cake for my daughter’s first birthday as well as 40 cupcakes. The smash cake was excellent and looked amazing and the baker worked with me to get the design I wanted. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious, clearly made extremely fresh. Everyone at the party commented on how good the cupcakes were. We will definitely order from here again when we need treats!

This establishment is everything !!!! Brought our 3 year old here to pick out some Cupcakes for his birthday and he loved it and so did we . It was super Cute, Cozy & Clean we ate outside underneath the patio section, the staff was very pleasant and professional and fast. The Cupcakes were AMAZING sooo freaking Delicious. They flavors of the day were perfect because there was a Birthday Cake Cupcake whoopey 🎊🎉. I highly recommend this location trust me you won’t be disappointed with the Treats nor the service. I’m so glad we stopped in so go ahead and Treat yourself 😊😋

I'm pretty sure it's not possible to bake a better cake than Smallcakes. They have a huge variety if classic and creative flavors. Some of the flavors rotate so there's always something new to try. The cakes are beautiful and delicious. While they are big enough for two, you won't want to share. If you're looking for dessert on a date, after dinner, or for an event, you can't beat Smallcakes.

My Georgia Peach and I stopped by to check out the rave reviews of Pincho Loco Ice Cream and we weren’t disappointed! Opening the door to sweet smells of waffle cone your senses are immediately transported to the kid in you. Greeted with warmness and a smile, the butter pecan and peach scoops on a waffle cone I had were as sweet and delicious as the service that accompanied it. My GP had the strawberry and peach feeling the same vibes as I. Thank you Pincho Loco! See you next weekend!

This place was so cute. The outside doesn’t do it justice! They had lots of options and it was reasonably priced and so yummy. I got a taro milkshake which I haven’t seen at any other ice cream shops and I loved it.

Their banana pudding ice cream changed everything for me! So delicious & fully infused with the true flavor of a good old fashioned nana pudding. Love it and will be back <3

Pincho Loco is an eclectic ice cream joint that has that hole-in-the-wall feel with fantastic flavor options that are a great mix between traditional and daring. Their menu is a bit much to take in and is pieced together over multiple boards so it's kind of a fun game to figure out what you want. I ended up getting their Mangonada since I was craving mangos and spice and this hit the spot. It had a good amount of fresh chopped mangos and sorbet with a tamarind chili straw. Very photogenic too! Aside from ice cream, they also have desserts ready to-go such as rice pudding, tres leches, flan, cake, and more! It seems to be one of those places that will have random goodies to choose from based on what they feel like making so check it out!

great local ice cream! the prices were VERY good. got the pincho loco tray which came with 5 scoops for $10. did a sample of random ones and by far my favorite was the rum raisin. the flavor of the rum was there and it was so smooth. For $10 we had enough icecream for more than 2 people

We can't leave Durham without a visit to CC Lakewood. The churros remind me of my childhood in Madrid, and the melted chocolate is pure bliss. Our favorites are the Guadalajara and the Modica. Try the Tenochtitian spice on top. It's spicy, but it'll smack you with kindness. You can't go wrong. Everything is delicious. Perfect spot to come work, eat, and meet people. The music will put pep in your step, and the staff is simply the best.

It’s my first time here and I’m impressed by the quality of their coffee and the churros is so good and I love that they make it fresh. I even bought a pack of 4 to go after my first try coz it’s that good ! I’m definitely coming back! I also appreciate their service, they are all friendly, and there’s tons of seating for big groups. But just a bit loud, it’s more like a place to socialize than to have a quiet moment, study or work remotely.

We always enjoy our coffee from Cocoa Cinnamon and the churros! The outdoor seating is a big plus. The interior is not the most comfortable set up but that is easily overlooked with the consistent and delicious coffees.

I like to try different coffee shops anywhere I go.... I will have to say that i've had many mochas, but this one was by far the farthest from a mocha flavor than i've ever had before...not in a good way. Would not say, not a great place to come definitely, try it out and see what you like. Looks like a great place for people to sit and chat, work or study. Staff was great and customer service was awesome. Very kind and helpful. Overall really cool atmosphere.

After a couple years of coming in and out of Durham regularly, I realized that Cocoa Cinnamon is the best coffee shop in the city. I love a good cappuccino and am pretty picky. There's a lot of bad cappuccinos out there, even at hipster-looking "new wave" coffee shops. Every time I get one from Cocoa Cinnamon it's made absolutely perfectly and with delicious beans. When I moved to Durham last year this coffee shop influenced my geographical preference and I now live right across the street. I come multiple times a week and I never get tired of it. 5/5

I ordered an egg, cheese, and sausage croissant, donut holes, and a coffee this morning. My order took no less than 15mins and the sandwich wasn’t edible. The sausage was burnt beyond recognition and the bread was hard and fell apart. I didn’t venture deep enough to check the egg but I have my suspicions. I took a pity bite, really wish I hadn’t. The donut holes were decent and the coffee was coffee flavored, so there’s that. The place seemed great, I had high hopes, and will give them another go. Can’t bash the whole place for one sandwich and, given the opportunity, will gladly review them again with fresh eyes.

I’ve been to a number of the donut shops around here and the Cambodian style donut that Early Bird makes which I was used to in California, is the best I’ve had here. Breakfast sandwiches are also awesome. So good, and locally owned too!

Their donuts and breakfast biscuits are great ... when they have them. I have been here as early as 8:30 am on a weekday and they were out of things. In addition to this, their employees always seem grumpy. Customer service is not great. The inside of the restaurant too seems like it's not well kept. So while their product is amazing, other areas are lacking.

My First time here was this morning! My donuts were fresh and hot but the sausage egg and cheese croissant was not good at all. Sausage was burned dry and extremely salty and the croissant was burnt and hard didn’t realize until I made it to my job. Also the customer service was not good at all didn’t greet me no smiles just frowns and poor service.

This is a Novelty shop (not a place for your regular ice cream fix). I’m rating it as a novelty shop (would be lower if rating as an ice cream shop). Concept was cool. Liked the variety of core fillings, dips, and toppings. The ice cream itself wasn’t enjoyable and left a weird waxy film on my lips. It also has a weird temperature — it was soft serve ice cream, but it didn’t feel cold at all. So, I felt like I was eating fake ice cream instead of real ice cream. Now that I’ve been, I’m more interested in trying their pistacho dessert slices and other offerings. Probably won’t try the ice cream again.

This place is pretty cool/unique. It's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. I tried the coffee praline crunch and it was yummy! My little one had the unicorn 🦄 and she loved it! Xoxo hubby made a custom blend, and everyone left with a smile on their face!

HOLY COW! The absolute best non-dairy ice cream I have ever had! This ND soft-serve is better than regular soft serve from places like DQ. It actually tastes creamy and smooth, not granular, icy, and watery like other ND ice creams. Kudos. My new favorite ice cream parlor.

great place to visit if you’re in the mood for ice cream. i love how they had dairy free options, without an additional charge for choosing it! theres a number of dips to choose from (non dairy options too) and i love the concept of having “cores”. as someone who loves hardshells on ice cream i was super excited to try this place out, and it did not disappoint! the regular size was more than enough in my opinion. i would highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try!

This was such a fun place with so many different options of dips cores and toppings! If you are an ice cream lover, you have to hit this place up! The decor is so whimsical and fun and lots of great flavors to try! We have to go back for seconds! Our little guy had the ice cream sandwich and he enjoyed it! I had the dairy, free, vanilla ice cream ! So creamy and delicious ! Love seeing small businesses like this crop up around us and we love to support them! And the best part is there is a huge parking garage right down the street... so it's convenient to peacefully park and come check out this location...

Had the dairy free, vanilla, pistachio dip, pistachio and toffee topping. Absolutely delicious. Staff was uncommonly, kind and professional so refreshing. Haven’t had service like that this decade. Will definitely return with my family

Ginger chicken dumplings were good (slightly spicy) The chicken Crunchwrap was delish but i barely at half of it so I’d recommend sharing it with someone if you are planning to try a bunch of stuff The smash burger was chef’s kiss It’s pricey but I assume it’s not cheap to rent space in here - I’m happy to support small businesses any day We’ll be back!

Locals is located in the Liberty warehouse in Dutham. If you're wondering if we enjoyed the whole red snapper (about 1 lb), we did 😆 Just Bones! We were hangry and dug in, fried 🐟hard and crispy on the outside, and perfect on the inside! $30 for this dish with slaw and waffle fries on the side. You can also order smoked oysters 🦪, which I didn't try but was told were very good. Lastly, the kale and garlic salad is tasty!

Great spot in Durham! It's lively, lots of variety (seafood/indian/burgers/bagels/pizza/Asian/mexican/coffee + boba bar) - mix of people kicking back and having drinks, to families with young kids, to people studying or hanging on their laptops. Good vibe and clean. I was there with my family, pizza and cheese steak pop up were good, I liked my Milk Bar drink and thought the Onigiri was really good. My husband really liked the chorizo burrito, their in house habanero hot sauce was spicy (in a good way!).This is perfect for a large group interested in options, also they have long community tables and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to find a table on a busy Sunday afternoon.

This place has delicious food options- something for everyone. We had pizza, teriyaki chicken, burritos, butter chicken and chips and queso. All delicious. I love how environmental conscious they are as well. The prices were fine and we will be coming back!

Fun, trendy place. Almost bohemian. Very noisy though. Also, can be very crowded on weekends. I recommend all of the restaurants, really. There is a great selection to choose from. Have a great lunch and then enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a Milklab drink after. My wife and I like to go here after visiting the Farmers Market just down the street on the weekend.

Loved the options available. If I were a local I think I’d still have trouble picking what to eat! My fiancée and I dropped in while passing through, and had coffee, bubble tea, crunchwraps, and bao buns — a little taste of a few of their spots. Though next time I’ll be looking at the Indian food and Burger joint (if I can resist those crunchwraps) 👌 The place was very clean, had many guests enjoying lunch but didn’t feel overcrowded, and even had an upstairs for private events. We saw they host other community events as well! Very cool spot — can’t wait to pass through again (and we will be sure to)!

There is no pricing anywhere and the ice creams are not labeled. Nobody speaks English, and the woman at checkout said "four" then only gave me back a quarter in change from a $5 bill. I asked for hot fudge, they put on hardshell. Butter Pecan ice cream was just okay, I would not get it again, nor would I desire to go back to this place to try anything else.

Me and my husband just got back from there and I am sorry to say I didn't feel welcome I feel like just because I am a white they don't like white people because the lady that was serving me and my husband was acting funny ,they need to in less welcome your guests with a smile and treat the better and don't be so racist. All kinds of different flavors. Great service. I don't speak Spanish and they have someone that spoke enough English for me to place an order.

Staff was extremely cordial and amicable. Wish there could have been English translations to the Mexican names on the menu to help us understand and order better. Mango popsicle and berry ice cream were delicious. Worth a try

Generous servings of pretty good food. Ordered kale salad and burger with fries. The burger - with the 1/2lb patty, cheese, mayo/aioli - felt a little too unctuous, and I would’ve personally enjoyed something acidic to help cut through the overly rich taste. One of the best fries I’ve had though. Salad portion was also good, plenty of fresh veg. Mint in salad is always gas.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, and a cocktail and they did not disappoint. You walk in, grab a menu, and choose your own seat, and make your order at the bar. I got the chicken salad sandwich and my husband got the braised short rib sandwich, both were amazing!This place has a nice chill vibe and the a service is great! We will definitely visit again!

There’s several things I like about Queeny’s. I’ve been here multiple times. Here is my list of pros: 1. Food is delicious. I’ve tried several things on the menu. It’s probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in Durham. 2. Cool ambiance 3. Kind and quick service Here are my cons: 1. It’s usually pretty loud inside. So that makes it difficult to talk. 2. When you order a beer, you don’t get a regular sized beer like everywhere else in Durham. But they charge the same price as everyone else who gives a regular sized beer. 3. It’s pretty expensive. We didn’t grab much for dinner and spent $55.

We come here all the time for many different reasons. Quick lunch on a Saturday stroll. Drinks and late night food. Read and catch up on work. Very versatile space in downtown. Always an amazing vibe. The nachos are the best in town.

Had a really nice! I had heard so much about this spot and their delicious burger and I finally tried it 🤤so good 😋. The place is also very cool inside and they have a nice very spacious outdoor area. Today they had The Durham Fruits performers, that was really cool for a first time visit.

went in for dinner with my mom. had high hopes. ordered 2 cokes. Completely flat. Didn't get the co2 changed out in time to even have a fresh tasting soda to go with our meals. No manager came by to ask if we would like a beer or a glass of wine or anything to make up for the fact that all of the sodas were flat. Yes, a soda isn't that big of a deal...but to not have it fixed by the time we ordered-til the time we finished was just plain rude and lazy. The french fries were severely undercooked. Burger was nothing special either. We will definitely be eating elsewhere next time we are in Downtown Durham. Severely underwhelming experience. The Chicken Crispers were the best part of the entire dinner. Came with one small side of ranch. The par-cooked fries were a huge turn off. Also paying upfront and expecting a tip before the food comes out is whack. I tip at least 20% or higher anytime I eat out, the service here deserved about 1%. Cheers!

A lovely small bakery where macaroons are the star. I don't live in Durham, so I searched online for a downtown bakery. I was impressed with the photos and reviews. Our party had carrot cake (tasty with crushed pineapple between the layers), lemon lavender cake (a pretty molded presentation was heavier on custard/curd than cake with a delicate lemon bite and only a hint of sweetness), pistachio ??? (it wasn't cake, it was bread...like a croissant...and it didn't pair well with the pistachio filling which was like a pistachio cream cheese-like mound. Pretty to look at but disappointing on taste), opera cake (lacked rich chocolate flavor and sweetness but suitable as a complement to coffee), birthday macaroons (delicious). Only a few tables for indoor dining. A lovely floral photo/selfie backdrop.

We have always loved Shayda's desserts, especially her macarons and carrot cake! When it came time to pick a bakery for our wedding, we knew exactly where to go! Shayda was so sweet and listened to everything we were looking for on the big day! We asked if she could make a specialty dessert from a family recipe and she made it happen! Everything tasted amazing and we couldn't have gone to a better bakery for our wedding day!

Sweets by Shayda is the BEST. Not only are the sweet treats absolutely gorgeous AND delicious, Shayda and her team are a breeze to work with. My husband ordered an anniversary cake with a few loose ideas and Shayda made the most beautiful cake (I actually shed a few tears over it because it was so incredible). Shayda greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary as soon as we walked into the shop to pick up the cake, which was so sweet. If you need anything specially made or just in the mood for a treat, Shayda's is the place to go. :)

I recently heard of this local woman-owned bakery, and stopped by to get one of her vaunted croissants and a piece of cake. The carrot cake with cheesecake filling was so good that I ordered a 6" whole cake for a friend's surprise birthday party. It was beautiful and delicious, dense and moist. A hit indeed for which I received lots of compliments! I was a bit concerned about the size, as there were 10 guests -- but when I opened the box, I discovered it was so TALL that there was plenty and the guest of honor even took some home! The almond croissants are out-of-this-world, and Shayda's Viennese Opera cake is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. We're lucky to have 'Sweets By Shayda' in Durham because its less expensive than a trip to Manhattan or Paris. 💚

I stumbled across this place recently and it's a hidden gem. Ever since I had traditional butter croissants in France, I've been on a quest to find bakeries in the US that are comparable. Until now, I was disappointed. Sweets by Shayda makes the best authentic French style croissants I have ever had in the US, and honestly might be just as good or better than the ones I had in France. Dozens of layers, super flaky on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. They're truly amazing. If you view US croissants as fake crescent shaped loaf bread like I do, you'll truly appreciate this place. They also have a great selection of macarons, cakes, and coffee. The staff are very friendly and everything I've had has been awesome. I will be back... many times.

Everything I got from Shayda Cafe was superb in both quality and taste! The French macarons were so good! They were everything you expect from a perfectly made macaron: smooth and thin outer crust, soft and pillowy almond cookies and deliciously flavored buttercream filling. The "champagne pop" macaron, which had a fantastic buttercream filling with tiny "popped" bits of chocolate in it, was a real standout. The large butter croissants were also perfect, very flaky and buttery. The pastries were also wonderful. The mango one looked like a real mango and had delicious mango cream and pieces of fresh mango fruit inside. The individually sized Princess Cake was even better: delicate sponge layers, whipped cream + pastry cream, fresh raspberry jam and not too sweet marzipan on top. Absolutely the best princess cake I've ever had! No, this is not an inexpensive bakery, but it is absolutely worth every penny!!!

Went in a slow Sunday. Quick service. The shepherd's pie was tasty. The mac n cheese I could take or leave. Wasn't bad but pasta inside a pastry just wans't my thing. Read the reviews of how good the pecan pie was but can't pass up on having a chess pie and the brown butter chess pie was really, really good! I'll be back to try some of the other dessert pies.

Cereal Killer Pie is a must! Love it so much I bought the whole pie, which was $39! A slice of pie ranges from around $5.50 to $8. Drinks are a little more expensive but water is free! Items change very often so make sure you call ahead to see what's available. 😆

I have mixed feelings. Sampled a number of items and enjoyed them all. The Mac n Cheese pot pie was really enjoyable from the savory choices. Enjoyed the shepherds and chicken and cornbread pot pie too. Tried the Mexican Chocolate, Smores, and cereal cheesecake pies. All were good. The Mexican Chocolate was incredibly rich. Staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the facility is nice. My main issue is despite everything being very good that it seemed pricey especially for the pie slices and drinks given the portions. Pie slices are small, but, which is fine given the richness, but prices still seemed out of whack and with some of the drinks too. Seemed like they brought the LA prices to Durham.

Went to the Pie Hole with my family. It’s totally the best pie place around. The “Cereal Killer” with Fruity Pebbles is so amazing! It tastes like cold vanilla milk, fruity pebbles and lemonade all in one pie! The apple crumble pie is to die for! Totally delish. With the homemade ice cream and whipped cream takes it over the top! But the Tart Cherry Pie really does hold its title. It’s tart and really good! Overall, this place has exceeded my intentions.

My hubby and I just discovered The Pie Hole and we weren't disappointed! We tried the Shepard's Pie and the Fruity Pebble pie, yum!!! The Shepard's Pie was so flavorful, I only wished I had more. The fruitty pebble cheesecake was interesting, pretty tasty. The crust was the best part in my opinion. We'll definitely be back to try some new menu items.

Great quality food! Nice people. Recommend to any UK people who miss savoury pies! We had the Mac and cheese and the shepherds pie. Next time will try the steak and ale. The apple crumble had plenty of apples and was cinnamony. The chocolate in the Mexican chocolate pie was deliciously dark and creamy with a spicy kick.

Went through drive thru 10 July 2024. Poor communication at order speaker. Employee not friendly. Took an excessive time for my 2 donuts and a coffee. Looking inside the store looked unorganized and chaotic. My order was filled correctly but one of the donuts was partly raw and I received 6 creamers. A waste and extra expense for the store. On 12 July 2024 gave the store another chance. Everything was what a customer should expect. I had no issues.

Lobby was closed due to lack of staff. Donuts were cold, they forgot to fill the creme filled and the chocolate frosting had specks of.... something in it. Krispy Kreme is good, but this store is not. Staff were friendly. Doesn't seem like anyone is managing this location.

Worst ice coffee ever. the guy who took my order was so sweet, even he knew the food was bad. Originally I ordered an iced vanilla latte but they didn’t have the ingredients I felt bad so I js got an iced coffee….it was horrible om gosh lord knows I should have left but I didn’t please don’t go

Went on a Sunday morning, and the stock of available donuts was pretty low, they only had a few to choose from, of course glazed was available. Maybe because it was the time of the day? But, they were still good, bought a three pack and the service was top notch.

This was my husband’s very first time at Krispy Kreme, and Justin made it such a great visit! His customer service was outstanding. So friendly, attentive, and clearly dedicated to his job. Thanks to him, we’ll absolutely be coming back again!

The donuts are good of course, the service is the worst. I went at 7am in the morning and ordered 5 dozen donuts. I said my order and the girl looked at me like she was mad, and walked off. I noticed her moving around so I thought ok maybe she's working on my order so I went to find a table to sit down. All of the tables were dirty. The cashier reappear gave me my total and said we don't have any bags and tried to hand me (one person) 4 dozen donuts. I made two trips but on my second trip to the car I am determined not to go back to this location. I will go to another donut competitor to get treated better then to spend $100 on donuts to be treated like crap.

Sooo yummy!!!! Got the regular size sour apple and mango, and it was so good. 100 flavors, all gluten free 🤩. Fun stuff for people to do while they hang out (darts, ring toss, cornhole, etc). Great place. Will be coming here every time we are in town now!

We are VIP of this place bc we literally have to get something from here everyday or at the very least every other day. Sweet tart tropical punch is my favorite but it's alot of gud favors here.

Unfortunately, my experience at this place was very disappointing. The iceball was mediocre and far below expectations, and the overall service was unpleasant. Most importantly, the way the woman working there was treated was unacceptable, showing a lack of respect and professionalism.

Service lacked. Not finely shaved like NOLA snowballs or Hawaiian shave ice. More like snowcones. Visiting fam and coming from Museum of Life and Science. We get better snowballs for half this price in and around NOLA. Attendant mumbled to me, couldn't hear her with so much traffic behind me on Roxboro. Practically stuck my head thru the order window trying to understand her. She was saying they don't have small size, only regular or large. I said well the $3.50 one, the "pequeño." She said The Kiddie? When I looked confused she said "thats Spanish, it means kiddie." I said well pequeño means small in Spanish, (pequeño is a size on their gigantic menu sign for choosing flavors). She said well it also means kiddie. (Okay). Not a single napkin given, no straw to drink the flavoring (when it's not finely shaved, the flavor goes straight to the bottom, leaving an ice top floating in syrupy flavoring). 6 minutes driving back to the house, the 2 for the neices were completely melted. One star makes ppl look angry so I'll give two

I’m between 4 and 5 stars for this place only because of the price. It is higher than other places but I went with 5 stars because the quality is good and the folks are always super friendly. It is really yummy stuff, but be aware it does add up quickly for multiple people. Definitely recommend overall!

A nice tasty treat and good atmosphere at this location. It is a walk up window with a cute seating area with a fountain. Although they don’t have a broad selection of custard flavors (only chocolate, vanilla, and the flavor of the day) they at least have lots of different toppings for you to make a custom creation.

Worst service. The workers are talking trash about the customers- Ashley and Kenya as well as messing around with the zaxbys workers from next door reaching through the window and screaming cussing and throwing stuff. The workers were goofing off with the zabys workers and making customers uncomfortable. The zaxby workers were able to get their orders before the customer. Ill be calling corporate about this because this behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. If you don't want to to work then go home.

I had the Banana Pudding with Carmel. I was trying to recreate the Pavarotti Flavor. It was delicious. Been coming since I was a kid. Still delivered after all these years. Was able to pass on the experience to my kids because we were visiting and don’t have one near us. Make sure they turn over the concrete!!

Came here a few weeks ago after a visit the Eno (which was closed unfortunately). We ordered two concretes and were both disappointed by what was served. First, the custard melted SO fast - and it wasn’t a particularly hot day. My husband got the Mint to Be and I got the GBPB concretes, and they were both seriously lacking in “the good stuff” - my husband’s didn’t even look like it was mixed - the bottom half was just plain vanilla custard - easy to tell because it was white.. Mine similarly had hardly any peanutbutter fudge and Reese’s, but surprisingly a TON of peanuts, like they were trying to get rid of them. They were bad enough that we almost brought them back, but decided that it wasn’t worth it. Such a shame - we used to come here a bunch when the kids were little and it felt like the quality had gone downhill. Plenty of other recent good reviews that we may give it another try and hope this was an off day.

One of the things I miss most about NC is the Wet Walnuts on my ice cream sundae! It's unheard of in Texas. But today, GoodBerry's has fulfilled my hearts desire to have a hot fudge sundae with wet walnuts! It was delicious and the service was amazing! Very fast for a Saturday night. Thank you!!!

As far as FroYo goes, Menchie’s is my favorite spot. The interior is impeccably clean, they have a rotating variety of tasty flavors, and every topping you can imagine from candy to fruit, hot fudge to whipped cream. Everything is high quality and delicious. I refrain from five stars because the prices are insane. You can get a milkshake at any competitor for $2-$4 or a premium ice cream cone for $4-$6. A modest servicing at Menchies will run $8-$10. A generous serving up to $15. Also, they don’t offer water, not even tap water so it’s another $1.5 for a bottle of water. In the end, it a nice shop with good quality, just be wary how much you put in that cup because it adds up fast.

It's a tasty frozen yogurt shop, five stars because my daughter thought so highly of it she insisted that I take her there even though it's a thirty minute drive from our house and there are several frozen yogurt places that are a lot closer. It was pretty tasty though!

What started as a simple outing to get ice cream turned out to be a serious mistake. When we walked into the shop, the entire place reeked of bleach. I remember thinking, “Well, at least it’s clean.” My wife and daughter both ordered cake batter ice cream, while I had the country vanilla. Mine tasted just okay, but there was something slightly off about it. I didn’t think much of it at the time, though I did start feeling a bit unwell afterward. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. My wife and daughter became violently ill overnight. Later, my daughter—who’s still quite young—told us that her ice cream tasted like bleach, but she didn’t know to say anything at the time. To the owners: Please inspect your location as soon as possible and determine why bleach may be making its way into your ice cream. This could have ended much worse.

We came from NYC and wanted to have good frozen yogurt as a family and Menchie’s delivered with flying colors. Much more flavorful than the one we are used to in UES Manhattan (16 Handles and Pinkberry) and the toppings are super fresh. Blueberries, mango, strawberries are fresh! It’s also clean and they give cheerful service. It’s family-owned so they really care for the relationships. Love the little party room. We will definitely be back at this refreshing yummy spot!

I usually go to Frozy when I am in the mood for frozen yogurt, but I wanted to try something new and decided to go to Menchie's instead since I had never been there before. They have sample cups for you to try the flavors out and decide which you prefer. Because of my love for all things birthday cake flavored, I decided to go with the cake batter flavor with added jimmies/sprinkles. It was very good but was a bit sweet for my liking, which is part of the reason I did not give this place five stars. The other reason is the lack of variety in the flavors offered. They only offer a few flavors. I would definitely try this place again in hopes that they offer more flavors in the future.

I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of frozen yogurt, but I wandered into Menchie's on a hot, summer afternoon for a sweet treat. It's a cute, very clean place and the woman behind the counter greeted me warmly with a smile. They have the usual -- an array of serve-yourself fro-yo options and tons of toppings. I had a cup of toasted marshmallow-flavored fro-yo with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate shell syrup, whipped topping, and cherry. Fantastic! Priced by weight, of course - so careful letting your kids fill their own cups.

Well run and always clean. Wish they had more than one or two bagel flavors on at a time but always a finch trip for the kids.

My wife went to this location to get me a quart of butter pecan hand scoop and she was told that they didn’t have anymore quart containers and they would not serve her. I had to call the store to explain to the staff that 2 pints made a quart and all they had to do was pack 2 pints to equal a quart. They were rude to my wife and this would be the last time we visit this location. This location needs new management or ownership and needs a change in culture. The poor service is unacceptable and the employees act like they don’t want to be there. I make the drive to Raleigh or Morrisville to get my butter pecan now. This Baskin Robbin’s is SORRY!

If there was any other Baskin Robbin’s in Durham then I’m sure this location would get no business. They have terrible customer service, they are always out of certain flavors. At least if you’re going to be rude, be fully stocked!

Came to get a shake and walked right back out the door. First let’s start with neither employee acted like I was standing there for about 2 minutes. One employee was mopping the floor and the other was sitting on the counter. The one mopping the floor finally finished then proceeded to put on gloves and ask what I wanted. I politely asked her to wash her hands. She stormed off and the other employee hopped off the counter and walked up to me with her gloves on and messing with her hair. YUCK! I said never mind and started walking out. She yells I can change my gloves and I politely stated no thank you! They have a 95.5 so yah, no thank you!

Rude and incompetent staff. I ordered a birthday ice cream pie, selected a date and time for pickup, and received a confirmation email. When I went to pick it up they had not even started putting it together. The girl helping me was completely rude like it was my fault the pie wasn't ready. It took another 24 hours for the order to be completed. I barely made it in time for the birthday party. With all the 1 star reviews, it's a wonderful this place is still in business.

I'm trans and the lady at the drive thru Refused to speak to me once I got to the window .. she was so nice prior to seeing who I am. Terrible discriminatory customer service. And I found the ice cream kind of nasty, not an exaggeration due to the drama. Not better than goodberries .. just convenient.

Got there at 6:45pm walked in and the general manager kept saying she was ready to go. A couple came in and was served donuts before I can even order. What sort of leadership is that. She said she couldn't make me a banana boat with all the fixings because they've been put up. She kept saying what else can help you with BEFORE SHE CLOSES. Again what sort of leadership is that? I believe she needs a different position. Preferably one that doesn't impact or influence training or new workers. She is a poor example to staff. How do you put fixings up before 7pm. That is closing time that is when put things up not 15min prior .

The mix of fruits and ice cream are incredible… enjoyed by children and adults alike ..unique taste .. i chose chocolate, mango and strawberry 🍓 it was smooth and refreshing texture highly recommended!

Enjoying an ice cream while walking around The Streets at Southpoint is more enjoyable then eating at a standalone ice cream shop. Food: Sunday Dazzler: 8.2 A delightful treat that stands out for its fresh ingredients and delicious ice cream. The portion size is just right. Adding an extra topping like nuts could give it the additional flair it needs. Coffee Chip Shake: 8.3 An excellent coffee shake that benefits from high-quality, tasty ice cream. The blend is spot-on, and the serving size is perfect. Strawberry Banana Smoothie: 8.2 While not groundbreaking, it's fresh, tastes great, and is very satisfying. Value: 7.2 Paying around $10 per person might feel a bit much, especially for the smoothie, but the quality could justifies the cost to some. The sundae offers better value compared to the smoothie, considering the quality and experience.

This location is not at all allergy friendly. We went when there was no line and asked if they would be willing to open a new container of a flavor that was almost out anyway to avoid nut cross contamination since we saw they use the same scoop for multiple flavors of ice cream. They refused to open a new container and my 10 year old daughter walked away sad and without a treat. Most other ice cream shops. especially when not busy, are willing to scoop from a new container to help avoid cross contamination. I will be avoiding this location.

My daughter and I stopped here for a milkshake on her birthday and the people here are so awesome that they had my daughter giggling with a smile ear to ear. Quality is hard to find, especially in a food court. But we definitely found it at this, uh… let’s call it an… “adorable ice cream oasis”... so we had to stop and write this review. Five stars!

Not sure a milkshake is worth $10. Strawberries were not fresh. It’s the staff was very friendly.

This is one of the best ice cream shops but you do have to go into the mall to get there. The gentleman who owns it is very good at his job. His staff is always nice and polite and the product is on point. You can't go wrong with Häagen-Dazs ice cream. The dulce shake is my favorite.

Interesting place in which they make the ice cream on frozen plate right in front of you and then roll it. The ice cream was really good and they had quite a few flavor choices. You also get up to 3 toppings of your choice and option to get whipped cream which doesn't count as one of your toppings. Really yummy though. Space is nice enough too. Very spacious, almost too big, with a number of indoor tables. And, they have stick notes and guests can put messages on walls. Staff was friendly enough. The only thing I an really trying to rectify is likelihood I would go back or whether I will view it as more of a novelty which is really what I expected going in and before the ice cream really exceeded my expectations. The negatives are it does take a little while as they have to make your ice cream. We only had a couple of people in front of us and it probably took 10 minutes before our ice cream was ready. Could see that getting much worse if they were busy as I only saw two plates to make the ice cream. They also only seemed to have only one size option and it is pretty big. My 7 year old could only eat half. And, it is $7 something per dish. I get both the size and price given they have to make it and smaller and cheaper is probably just too inefficient. The ice cream was really good though and better than I was anticipating. The question I will need to figure out is whether I will ultimately find it good enough to justify the wait and price especially given no smaller options.

Ice cream is very very good. It's not much creamy, not overly sweet. I really like it. 5 star for the base ice cream itself. We got thai tea and coffee bases. Both were excellent. A couple of thing I did not like much are 1. Size/price: The default is pretty large and expensive for one person. It would be great to have a half size option with a half price. I cannot go there often. 2. Topping: I am not a big fan of toppings, but there was no option not to pay for them.

The ice cream was good. The technique was unique and the presentation was nice. But it took FOREVER to get served and I didn't even order anything fancy. I think they need more employees. I would reccomend it if you have some time on your hands

Loved this place! Unique way to make ice cream. We look forward to returning! Takes artistic talent to create the presentations. They employees could use more personality. They were helpful and friendly but could add to a more enjoyable experience.They should also sell shirts, hats and decals I think their logo is pretty cool.

This is a new great place in Durham! It's fun to watch the ice cream being made. There are sticky notes and pens at every table so that you can draw pictures, write messages and then post them on the walls. A fun family outing.

The ice cream is amazing! The presentation it so beautiful. The only problem that I had with this location is that there were only two employees working so if both of them were working on the ice cream there would be a line at the counter and if only one person was working it would take a long time, granted they are doing something I could never do but I feel as if they are a little short staffed. I got the " Summer Escape" with raspberries, strawberries and chocolate chips.

Lovely! Big space, plenty of room for customers, fun showmanship when making the ice cream. A wall full of post it notes where people can leave fun messages and drawings. The ice cream itself is thick, fresh, creamy, and delicious and serves more than one. I had the strawberry Nutella and will be coming back for more of that and to try other flavors (and watch them make the rolls again!)
