When you are in a hurry, avoid this place during busy times. As with some other restaurants in Wernigerode, they seem to have dificulties finding enough (qualified) staff. Therefore, we would prefer to have a non-smoking area outside at the terrace; now cigarette/vaping fumes enter the interior very easily when these windows are open.

The restaurant looks really nice with beautiful decorations and friendly staffs. However, the taste/quality of food was disappointing. We ordered the special winter ice cream menu, a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate cake. The cake was fine but the winter ice cream special and the milkshake could have been better and were not worth the price (especially the ice cream, it tasted just like the cheap ones you can buy from supermarkets). But if you’re looking for a very nice atmosphere and cozy cafe in town, this is the one and just don’t expect too much of the ice cream and milkshakes here. We haven’t tried the hot food yet as the kitchen was closed where we were there maybe next time we’ll find out.

Wonderful old fashioned place. We had breakfast here on a Sunday, sitting outside on the sunny terrace. It wasn't overly busy, the waitress was very nice and the food was good, fresh rolls, boiled eggs, cappuccinos, juice, cheese and meat platter, some fruit.
