The waiter’s were a bit stressed, and were not quite attentive, however they were very nice and accommodating once their attention turned to us. The starters and sides were very good, everything with aubergine was great! I had the rabbit, which was slightly overcooked, but still good. The ossobucco was not great, but also not too bad. Especially if you have vegetarian/vegan people in your group. All in all decent experience!

A lovely restaurant in the middle of Venice main island. This restaurant was recommended by a my friend who lives there and he dine there often. This restaurant offers not traditional Italian cuisine and there are excellent alternatives choice in Venice. I stayed in Venice for one week this time. Even though I love seafood, I was getting tired of similar menus. The food was very tasty and maybe bigger portions for a restaurant in the island. Waiters are friendly and kind. Small problem for us was the reservation time. The restaurant has two shifts for evening reservations: at 19:30 or 21:30. Both times were not really standard dinning times for dinner in Italy. Fair prices.

La Zucca is a fantastic spot in Venice—especially if you’re vegetarian, but honestly everything on the menu is delicious. The vegetarian options are creative and flavorful (we loved the lasagna and pesto!), though the duck was also outstanding. Great wine, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere made for a perfect evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and we loved sitting right on the canal in such a beautiful location. The restaurant is small and traditional + very popular, with only a few tables, so it’s definitely required to make a reservation! It’s very popular for good reason. Highly recommend!

The service from the waiters was very unpleasant. We didn't ask for much, just had a question whether the bread was vegan, and the waitress was acting rude. Another thing that is very weird, they don't have an English menu (which is fine, but it seems that most of the costumers are tourists..). Instead, we were given a page with translations from Italian to English? Like kind of a dictionary? I think that it is an odd thing to do. When we asked the waitress to give out a recommendation and translate what's written, she did it very unwillingly. Whenever we tried to call the waiters they usually ignored us (and I saw it happening to other tables as well). The food was fine, I ordered pasta with gorgonzola, which could've been great if it was served hot. It was a bit cold but I didn't want to tell the waiters because of the attitude we were already given. The only reason we didn't leave was that we were in a hurry to go somewhere else and had to eat somewhere. The other dishes were good but not spectacular as expected.

Deceptively spacious, with both a long interior corridor with tables and a terrace area close to a canal. Food was overall good, service was normal. I like my soup/cream. Not overly expensive

What a great place! Everything was fresh, well made and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options. Great ambience, nice atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, especially given the quality and the central location. We had a great evening and will definitely come back

This was one of our best eating experiences in Venice. The food is so fresh and delicious, all real and homemade, and lovely to see such a creative inventive menu. We came on a busy day and had to wait for quite a while before anyone came to take our order but it was well worth it. The waiters were sweet and kind, and very interesting to talk to. The zucchini lasagna was particularly soft and lucious, and the many vegetable side dishes were delightful and rich in flavor. Really fantastic for vegetarians!! We also had a desert each and both were amazing. We felt so nourished, both in the belly and in the heart by this lovely genuine place. It is a real gem and one we look forward to returning to many times.

We booked a table for lunch a couple of months before our trip to Venice. The food here is amazing. Delicious and fresh. You can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Tuna tataki was wonderful as were all of our mains. It's a small place which is why it's booked out well in advance. If you like your seafood, then definitely come here. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

We were recommended Osteria alle Testiere by friends who visit often, and it was the highlight of our trip to Venice & Verona. The food was outstanding and the hospitality from Luca and his team was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch trying lots of local seafood (including oysters, clams, scallops, fish, pasta alongside exceptional veg) with excellent wine, followed by a tiramisu and coffee. Their menu changes daily based on the best ingredients available and so they say that because of this, all of their dishes are recommended - we’d have to agree! This is a gem of a restaurant. To ensure you don’t miss out, we’d highly recommend booking well in advance due to the small restaurant size.

Osteria alle Testiere has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Venice. For pescatarians like us, it's truly the best place you could visit in this magical city. The restaurant is small and cozy, so reservations are a must. You're greeted by a wonderful team that makes you feel so welcome. The quality of the food and the attention to detail in every dish is outstanding. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, with the menu based on the daily catch and vegetables from their own garden. The dessert selection is also superb and we'll definitely be back!

Absolute cracking restaurant. For me one of the best - if not THE BEST in Venice 2 Months later and we are here again ! As always a really great experience. Oyster from the lagoon- small but soooo good. Best spaghetti vongole that I had EVER. We will come back every time when we visit Venice. Reservation absolutely necessary

Very intimate and sophisticated restaurant, yet the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Every thing we had was well balanced with amazing distinct flavors. It's a great way to enjoy authentic venetian meals.

This restaurant is simple but exquisite. Had a recommendation from a friend and booked way ahead (literally 3 months ahead!) as we’d heard such good things and didn’t want to be disappointed for our one night in Venice. The restaurant is incredibly compact, probs max 10 tables, which gives a charming and attentive atmosphere, matched by the utterly wonderful staff. Many people tried to get a table by walking in, but were turned away, so we definitely felt very lucky indeed to have reserved in advance. As an apologetically English speaking tourist, it was lovely that the restaurant was full of a mix of both locals and international guests. The waiters were equally kind and attentive to all clientele (sometimes I feel like you can get a raw deal/ cold shoulder as a tourist…but not in this place). The atmosphere was very relaxed and incredibly pleasant. The menu is perfect: a good range, but not overwhelming, with a carefully selected range of fresh seafood and seasonal dishes. We had scallops (insane!), mussels, tuna ravioli, and turbot. Everything was exceptionally seasoned and well presented. The attention to detail in the sauces was particularly note worthy. We finished with a tiramisu (criminal not to) which we both agreed was the best we’d ever eaten. To be honest my only regret is that we couldn’t just order the whole menu: looking at other guests’ meals/tables it seemed that every dish would have been divine. The only tiny area for improvement might be a more extensive alcohol-free drinks list. The wine list was extensive but for non-drinkers there were just a couple of choices. That defo isn’t anything to cry about, though; bottom line is this restaurant is fabulous and provides a relaxed, authentically Italian experience. Make a reservation now, and tell your friends…(or maybe don’t, cos then it’ll get too busy…)

Super funny, friendly and entertaining waiters! Also very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable about their craft! They made me a whole beautiful vegan pasta dish off the menu, that was superb! My non vegan companions were also very happy :) thanks for the delicious meal in a warm and homey space! You can tell they cook with love, passion and knowledge. It was a pleasure to watch the experts at their craft

A Hidden Gem in Venice! Where to begin…this intimate restaurant (just 10 tables!) was the highlight of our trip to Venice. A reservation is a must, and absolutely worth it. The service was exceptional: warm, attentive, and detail-oriented. We shared the beef tartare, ricotta ravioli, and the catch of the day—each dish was delicious, with the fish being the standout. Don’t skip dessert: the tiramisu was the best we had in Italy, and the wild strawberry sorbet was perfectly refreshing. Reasonably priced for such a high-quality experience. 100% recommend!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my wife’s birthday at an amazing restaurant recommended by our foot tour guide in Venice. It turned out to be a fantastic choice—the food was absolutely incredible. The beetroot spaghetti was bursting with flavor, and the ceviche was unbelievably fresh. I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Venice—they won’t be disappointed. Just a heads-up, the restaurant is cozy, so be sure to make a reservation in advance!

I struggle to understand why so many people keep giving this restaurant 5 stars, we expected much more for the price we paid. Seven raviolis for 22€, three strips of duck breast for 30€, 2 glasses of wine and a Tiramisu (which was very good) - we left hungrier than when we came. Food quality is there, but quantities are disappointing. Waiters kept asking us if we wanted more food or drinks, making us feel uncomfortable for saying no.

This restaurant was a true pleasure to dine in. It started with such a warm welcome and every course seemed like it was a gift from the chef to us. The pasta was so perfect that I was lost in all the delicate flavors in my mouth. The fish was cooked to perfection with all its flavors locked into one perfect fillet on a plate. To top everything the ambience was so homely and the service was exceptional. This place may be a small restaurant but some good things in life come in little packages. I would certainly recommend this restaurant as a must visit while in Venice

Went there with my family. Made a reservation due to the online reviews we saw saying it was a ‘must have’ but i think the reviews made my expectations way too high. The menu has very few options (which i don’t consider a bad thing) but from the different combinations of flavors described on the menu I was expecting more of an explosion of flavors, and at least the entree and my main dish were quite bland. My family had the same impression as me from their dishes. The tiramisu we had for dessert was good (texture wise) but a little too strong (or too much) coffee. The final drink (digestive liquor, on the house) was the highlight , instead of the common limoncello they offered us a liquor made by their own production and made of artichokes, which impressively was quite tasty!

Had very high expectation for our first Venetian cuisine but didn't turn out so well. The service was splendid, but food-wise... perhaps I've not yet learned how to appreciate traditional Venetian food, since there were clearly lots of locals. Seafood a lil bit too "fishy"(maybe cuz they're from the lagoon?), steak a lil bit too chewy ......

Nice cafe with a lot of history. It’s had a lot of famous guests through its doors and has been in continuous operation since 1720’s. Our experience was a pleasant one, we decided to sit outside due to the good weather conditions and the live music that was playing and managed to get a view of St.Marks Square from our table. Thing to note is that you do have to pay a charge for siting outside while the music is playing of €7 per person. I feel this is a little steep as a small family that is seeking to attend could end up paying nearly €30 before they have even ordered anything. We ordered two cocktails at €24 and €25 each along with a cappuccino which cost €12 and the waiter brought complimentary crisps and water for the table. This added with the €14 music charge resulted in a total of €75. A little expensive for what we had but with the atmosphere and location the cost of the drinks can be expected. We were served quickly and after our order was taken it arrived about 10 minutes later. When we arrived there were only about 2-3 tables available so it was somewhat crowded. We ventured inside to where the small rooms were located to have a look around and view the little shop which sold snacks and merchandise. The decor of the interior is very impressive and has managed to keep its charm from its beginnings it seems. If you’re after a couple of drinks while in the Square I would recommend however if you’re not directly in the area there are other places that will offer a similar experience at half the price.

Yes the atmosphere is nice, yes the location is good and music amazing. But I still think that the prices are too high for that. Also it would be good to say in advance that during summer they have other kind of tiramisu and not the classic one. Generally it was good, but not worth 42€ for one drink and dessert. You can just sit nearby and still listen the same music for free.

A must when you go to Venice! It is a 7 euro cover charge per person for the music. But worth it for the vibes at least just one time ahha the Apple tart was the best pastry I’ve ever tried! And I just got some tea to go along with it. The music was nice and the cafe was beautiful. It was like 65 euros for 2 teas and a pastry so make sure you come knowing that this will be the most expensive cup of coffee or tea you’ll ever have. Haha

When in Venice, might as well sit at their square and enjoy the live music and drinks- their Prosecco was best. The evening musicians do have their varieties, and take requests where possible for discretionary 20 euros. Seeing they had clarinet, violin, piano and bass, I requested for Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin but sadly this was not possible. Still enjoyed listening to many of their music. Went back on our last day during daytime, did not disappoint.

Came here to experience one of the oldest coffeehouses in the world, operating since 1720. We sat inside, where there’s a cover charge of €7 per person. There’s a live orchestra playing outside, and although we could hear a little of the music from our seats inside, we couldn’t really see them perform. The drinks are on the steeper side — I ordered an €16 cold coffee cream (Frozen Florian) and was surprised to see it was about the size of my palm. Nevertheless, it’s worth visiting this café at least once in your life for the experience, though I probably wouldn’t come back a second time.

The place for superb fish dishes in Venice. Packed with local regulars and foodie tourists it is wonder that people can get a table here. But once in, the food is absolutely the star - just so good. Make reservations well in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed. All classic Venetian seafood dishes are served in large portions.

We had the mixed seafood platter that had sardines, cod, octopus, oyster, shrimp - all treated differently.. some poached or marinated in dressings, some turned into cutlets. All were flavor bombs and incredibly fresh. They really think through their food. We also tried the risotto with squid ink and it was perfectly cooked with so much finesse. Service is warm, prices are justified and it is a pleasure to dine at this quieter side of Venice! We will be back soon!

Better to have the reservation in advance. Even though we only have one hour to finish up the mixed seafood platters, nothing to complain about the Venice must-eat. Recommend just showing the menu to the tourists and asking us to use Google Translate to read. Because of the printout menu, we can order one more dish and save our 30 minutes of waiting.

We were recommended this restaurant as where the locals go. Had to wait for a little but as we did not make a reservation. It was crowded to wait inside as we came during dinner time. However the staffs were always checking on us so we did not feel abandoned or lost. One of the staff patiently helped us to explain and translate the menu. Sorry we did not get his name but he was especially helpful and attentive with his service. Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed some local cuisines we had here, mainly the seafood dishes.

This place is an absolute gem. Incredible food, atmosphere and hospitality. Owner is incredibly kind and the steaks he is serving on platters are to die for. Located in a really cool area. They don’t take reservations - don’t worry - awesome wine and appetizers can be ordered while you hang out waiting

Great atmosphere among all the customers who were sitting by the canal; it can't get better than that! Unfortunately, everything else was a bit of a disappointment. The food was below average, from the salad to the meat. Desserts were hit and miss since the tiramisu was excellent, but the panacotta wasn't. Service was insufficient, and I even had to walk inside to pay the bill. At least, everything was affordable.

Love, love, loved this place! The knowledgeable, helpful staff serving wine at the counter and the gentleman monitoring the seating outside, run this cosy gem in a way that makes you feel like you’re at home. The wine selection is varied and delicious as are the cicchetti. I didn’t eat dinner here and I totally regret it. I sat at a table beside the canal. A gorgeous view, amazing wine and a lovely ambiance. I wish there was a place like this in my city.

Great food and great service. We stopped in on the first day of our trip and again on our last, 4 days later. The staff not only remembered us but also the wine selection we had made. We shared all of the meals, the lasagna is pictured. Highly recommend!

This place was recommended by a friend who had been to Venice a month before. It did not disappoint. It may seem busy when you first show, but you should be able to get a table quickly. Most are there to enjoy the cicchetti and a drink. Great table along the canal in an interesting part of town. We had the gnocchi with ragu sauce to start and we inhaled it. Then the tomahawk as our main and it was seriously one of the best steaks I have ever had anywhere. Go here!!

We came to the restaurant without a reservation and waited around 20 mins (which was not an issue for us; we were able to get some drinks while we were waiting). The steak was really good, there's no denying in that. However, what I had an issue with, is that midway through my dessert, they handed us our check. this indicated that they wanted us to get out (since that's the universal way of restaurants stating that) and i was shocked. it was so disrespectful and seeing other people enjoy their meal whereas they essentially wanted us out of the restaurant, is rude. i decided to not finish my dessert (creme brûlée was okay but nothing special, i'd say it was a 3/5). overall, seeing how we were treated vs. how other customers were treated was eye opening, and i will never recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the attitude. steak was great but I went to other restaurants in Venice where I had incredible steak. most of the waitresses were nice to us but the guy who's responsible for getting you seated was rude and mean, and he was the one who brought our check.

Found this place through a local recommendation and decided to give it a try. I ordered the picanha without realizing the price was per 100g. The server insisted on a minimum of three portions, even though there were just two of us. To our surprise, the steak was served family-style, a massive 2kg platter of meat. At the end, I told our server “non male,” meaning “not bad,” and we left with full stomachs and just a bit of leftovers. Highly recommended!

Well, after a fair few glasses of wine, I'm likely to wax lyrical about this restaurant, but by God they deserve it. After two weeks travelling through Italy, South to North, and some really "good" food, I feel like we truly discovered "great". Osteria Bancogiro was just wonderful. The setting next to the canal, the friendly and welcoming service, and the food...! We decided to have the grilled octopus as a starter. Southern Italy eat your heart out. It was amazing. Then the veal and the lamb. Utterly sublime. We couldn't have asked for a better first evening meal in Venice, with more welcoming and friendly staff. Go there if you can. You'll thank me!

It’s a little expensive, but it’s really worth it. I went with two other people and I had the lamb and it was good. My friend had the steak which I had a piece of, and it was delicious as well. The presentation of the food was well worth it too as each plate looked amazing. I would definitely come back here and I extremely recommend it.

The restaurant is right next to the canal. Stunning view during the sunset. We ordered several dishes, they were all good, especially the shrimp for starter and the fish for main. Tiramisu was the best one I had during this trip

Its decent, but to be honest extremely overpriced. You can find way better places at less posh places, but we know that when we come to this kind of tourist 'wannabe' restaurants its what you get. Wine was supposed to be really good, but was nothing special either. Dishes are a bit small. The black tagliatelle were too salty, and who ordered them had stomach ache afterwards. The carbonara was slightly undercooked (and I understand what al dente is), making the dish not as good unfortunately.

Cicchetti was alright, but they were better than the spots nearby. The big name cicchetti spots were all closed in the early afternoon so we came here and it was okay

We ordered the cichetti that are similar to Spanish tapas but better. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the canal.

Great place on the water to finish our trip to Venice. The food was great, view was good, and we saw Stanley Tucci double.

I would give 10 stars if I could! 🌟 The atmosphere and the food were amazing. This place is popular for a reason, so having a reservation is recommended. We found it spontaneously and still managed to get a table inside. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and the food took us to the heaven and back! It was by far the most delicious food we tried in Venice. The mixed starter was so good and then they topped it for me with a simple pasta with tomato sauce. I say simple, but it was absolutely delicious! If you can make something so simple taste so delicious, you definitely know what you are doing. 🍝 My husband has ravioli with fish and was also super impressed. Regards and big thank you to the whole crew there! You made our day. It’s worth it to come back to Venice just to eat at this place again. ❤️❤️❤️

La Palanca, Giudecca, sits by its namesake vaporetto stop with views across the canal. A daytime trattoria and evening cicchetti bar, it’s beloved by locals for its straightforward cooking and fair prices, though it’s had its share of international press. I settled under the wooden beams for a final fish lunch and trusted the barman’s choice: grilled tuna, crusted in toasted sesame and drizzled with balsamic. Nutty, savoury, sharp-sweet – simple, deftly timed, and perfectly judged. Light, unfussy Venetian cooking at its best, with views to match. 8.5/10.

Amazing place ! The view on Venice and the tables by the sea are really beautiful. Service is impeccable with smiling and funny waiters. And the food is really impressive: tasty and original, from the starters to the dolci ! Best sardine pasta i’ve had. Thank you for this experience !

There is something so special about La Palanca. Beyond the incredible food, it’s the genuine service and the ambiance, where tourists and locals rejoice, that makes it a true treasure. We’ve been in Venice for 3 days and after seeking more central (near San Marco) / mainstream options on all the “where to go lists” - it was La Palanca that stood out above the rest. They were also incredibly attentive to allergies / intolerances, which goes a long way. 10/10 would recommend for the friendly service, location, and fantastic food.

We came here as we heard that this was a great place to have lunch. It will require you to take the vaporetto from the main island over, but the trip is completely worth it as you can dine waterside with Venice in view. Of note, sometimes waves will breach the side of the walkway. The restaurant has set up wooden boards as well as elevated crates beneath some tables to prevent your shoes from getting wet. This is not a big issue, and in fact we had a good laugh when it happened to us. THE FOOD HERE IS STELLAR. Both my partner and I agree that this is likely the best dining establishment we ate during our 2-day stay in Venice. The seafood is extremely fresh, the staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. This dining establishment focuses on food and customer service. We at no point felt rushed as we did on the main island. We started off with the fish platter which came with whipped salted cod, marinated sardines, raw tuna in olive oil, and anchovies. The whipped cod was in our opinion the best in the area. The Buffalo mozzarella with roasted eggplant was awesome. The squid ink pasta and grilled prawns were also well made and not overly salty like some other restaurants on the main island. This is a place that we will likely revisit if we are in the area again in the future.

We absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend the tapas - local ones with cod and tuna, they were amazing, the meat was melting. And the tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had! The service was great and they kindly explained everything we were getting. And one of my favorite parts - a lot of locals were coming here :) we took a boat from Venice to eat here as a local friend recommended it to us.

My loveliest place in Venice. The incredible view on the row embankment, waves are welcoming under your feet but staff will give you some footrest. The stuff is fully friendly and really funny, I should say that it’s the best customer service that I’ve seen in the Venice. The atmosphere is really calm and has “la vita è bella” vibes :))) It’s not the place only for tourists, I saw a lot of locals, workers in special clothes and a little foreigners. The food was awesome and really fresh. I’ve taken an antipasti plate with fresh tuna tartar and another small fishes (18€). It was really nice. And for the dessert I had the best tiramisu (6€) in my whole life! The cream was incredible. White dry wine is good smelled and nice for taste. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

We have been to the Osteria and I agree with most comments on the quality of service, atmosphere and taste of the dishes. Our experience although has not been of the most rewarding. I can accept the philosophy of the place, also can understand the imbalance of 100 different wines and the short menu, I am prepared to accept the price and surcharge for location and view. What I cannot condone is the portion control. The job of a restaurant is not to be confused with that of a dietician. Pictures to testify that a plate of pasta at €22 with a ragù of mussels - with no mussels as evident from the photo- is not more than 70g of dry weight. Equally a €26 sarde is made of 7 small ones. So I hope the chef and the team understand that customers are ready to accept some compromises but not the lack of consideration of the environment they operate in - in Italian I would call this Lesinare: the intent to reduce the provision for the sole purpose of pretending to be posh. I would hope this review is taken for what it is. Recognition of good intent, feedback for improvement on the execution.

Beautiful, rustic type restaurant. Sat outside along the canals and had the tasting/sharing plates - 9 small different dishes for 60 EUR. They were all very tasty, diverse and utilizing local ingredients well, but I don’t know that the cost was worth it 100% by virtue of the plates being so small. However, the staff service was impeccable. One of the waiters, a blond gentleman who was coming to me with the wine pairings for the tasting menu had so much information about each wine. You could also see how passionate he was in talking about the flavors, where they come from, unique things that make the wine standout. I find that so cool and really enjoyed his and the other waiters’ details. All in all, a good night. Worth checking out, if you’re up for a more expensive meal.

If you look for something different and a meal that surprises you in a positive way. A place with ambitious cooking and very stylish presentation. Try this nice small restaurant in beautiful Cannaregio. Great food and great wine pairing. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Offering detailed descriptions of both food and wine. The only critique: We really enjoyed our meal, but yes, portions are very delicate and maybe a bit small. So order several and share!

A mixed experience. This restaurant is tucked away on a lovely canal and clearly aims to offer a refined, slow-cooked take on traditional Italian cuisine. However, for us, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the service was professional, it really lacked any warmth, and the atmosphere felt more formal than inviting. The food was fresh and of good quality but didn’t quite deliver on flavour. For example I ordered the Vitelli Tonnato for my main dish and was surprised when it arrived as a plate of cold thinly sliced veal with dollops of anchovy sauce served on an entree size plate with nothing else .. for €26 it was a bit disappointing.. and underwhelming. At €120 for two appetisers, two small mains, and three glasses of wine, it was the most expensive meal we had in Venice—and not, in our view, the best value. While others may appreciate its more curated approach, it wasn’t quite the right fit for us.

Exceptional! We had the nine course tasting menu and some wine by the glass. All the food was very tasty and the service was enjoyable too. If you appreciate good food and do not insist on vitello tonnato hot with french fries, you will not be disappointed.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and we’re amazed by the quality and freshness of the food. The raw wild fish plate was a work of art and we also very much enjoyed fried sardines with fennel mayo and vitello tonnato. (It’s funny that some people complained that they serve it cold). We loved this restaurant. Excellent food in a charming but low-key setting, at a very reasonable price for the quality. We had two pasta dishes, both of which were versions of Venetian classics (one with beans, the other with anchovies), which were delicious. We also had their fried chicken with root vegetables, which was amazing. Excellent wine selection & the bread was perfect. Highly recommended for an on point & creative execution of Venetian cuisine.

An unforgettable evening at Glam di Enrico Bartolini - a Michelin 2-star gem that truly lived up to the hype. From the first bite to the last, every dish was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Not a single miss - and many absolute standouts. The service was warm, gracious, and attentive throughout. It was the most comfortable Michelin meal we've had. It felt like we can relax and be ourselves without the pretentious vibe and yet stay elegant! Compliment to the team and how welcoming they are to my daughter! My 7 year old daughter was treated like a princess with her own special pasta (which she said was the best pasta ever!) and dessert, and even got to meet the chef behind this extraordinary meal! One of the best Michelin meals we've ever had - refined, elegant, and full of delightful surprises. Already dreaming of coming back someday.

What a lovely little restaurant tucked away in Venice. After finding our way through a maze of streets, we stumbled across what can only be described as an escape from normalcy in a gorgeous setting. We were promptly greeted by an amazing host who told us we can choose from two different menus or we could simply do whatever we wanted and select dishes from either or both. What fun! We decided to do à la carte and have a little fun. While I swear our 4 course meal turned into something more like 17, we never wanted or lacked for food. At this volume, a couple of bites here and there may have been hit or miss but the reality is overall it was such a strong showing. They also provided a fantastic wine pairing, asking what part(s) of the world you wanted to enjoy! Additionally, they created a non-alcoholic pairing as well. You can’t beat the pairing that came in the most amazing hand blown glass with a kissy fish face. Ultimately it left us with a sense of happiness, fulfillment, and a little bit of relaxation on our vacation to Venice. Highly recommend.

We visited Ristorante Glam in Venice for lunch and chose the classic tasting menu — and we were genuinely impressed. The portions, though refined, were generous and thoughtfully structured across the menu. Yes, it’s expensive. But the quality, creativity, and overall experience fully justify the price. We had a magical evening enjoying the Glam Classico tasting menu. The palazzo is very beautiful. The dishes were outstanding and so lovely to look at. We appreciated the moments of whimsy. The service was terrific and we appreciated the sommelier’s selection of delicious local wines to go with the courses along the way at our request since we couldn’t drink 10 different pairings. We are so glad to have experienced this 2-star Michelin restaurants focus on the local produce, meat and seafood of Veneto. It was a love letter to the region.

Incredible food prepared most beautifully. Impeccable, non-intrusive service. Slightly loud room for six tables but manageable. From the first greeting to meeting the chef on the way out, it was wonderful. The produce from Erasmo was a beautiful centerpiece off the meal. I will go back when I am in Venice.

We centered our entire trip to Venice around dining at Glam, and it was meant to be the highlight of my wife’s 40th birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the elegance of the setting and the warmth of the service. Our evening began with cocktails in a room fit for royalty, accompanied by a beautifully curated selection of small bites to awaken the palate. We then moved to the restaurant for the main experience and my goodness, the artistry and flavors were simply extraordinary. Every course was a masterpiece, paired perfectly with a wonderful wine recommended by the sommelier. However, partway through the meal, my wife unexpectedly fell ill. The staff could not have been more compassionate or professional. They immediately offered her hot water with honey, a comfortable place to rest in the courtyard, and genuine concern for her wellbeing. When it became clear we needed to end the evening early, I approached the team to pay for our meal and, to my astonishment, they gently refused any payment. Their kindness left us truly speechless. My wife has a genetic heart condition which is usually well controlled, but on rare occasions she experiences atrial fibrillation unfortunately, it happened on this special night. The empathy and understanding shown by the team at Glam turned what could have been a difficult memory into one of gratitude and admiration. Yes, Glam absolutely deserves its two Michelin stars for its extraordinary cuisine and artistry but just as importantly, it is run by people with genuine heart. We will most certainly be back.

Food is fine but not cooked carefully… The meatballs were almost raw (see picture) and the rice of the risotto was very hard. It’s a shame beat cause the taste was good. Waitress was friendly but the service was very expeditive, felt like they wanted us to eat fast and leave fast. Overall I was disappointed.

We went into this restaurant for lunch as it had a good selection of fish dishes. I was very pleased to see they had some local Italian wine to choose from on the menu. The first staff member that served us was very friendly and helpful. Towards the end of the meal another member of staff took our food away and when they came to bring the coffee they slammed it onto the table. It was surprising as we were a mixed Italian / English group and had spoken Italian throughout the meal. The fish was tasty and the texture of the calamari was delicious. Although there were a lot of people here for the cicchetti, the food here was absolutely delicious and was the best meal I had in Italy! The seafood was so fresh and delicious. I didn’t have a reservation for lunch but went around 12:30pm and was able to get seated. Highly recommend the mussel stew which I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of. The squid ink pasta and fried calamari dishes were divine. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Food was great - ordered the spaghetti Alla busara and Frittura mista which came promptly, and tasted fresh. We also ordered a risotto at the beginning which never arrived and when we asked after half an hour, we were told bluntly (without checking with the kitchen) "it's coming". When it hadn't arrived after over an hour and two other tables near us who arrived after our first two dishes came out, already received and finishes theirs, we cancelled the order only to find out it was never placed. The staff were apologetic but we found the overall experience frustrating.

My friend Beth visited this restaurant recently and told me that she was extremely disappointed with the service. When the Seafood Dish came out to her table, it had no more than one prawn. There should've been at least half a dozen or more for the price she paid. There was nothing authentic about this Italian meal. The Spaghetti and the tomato sauce was bland and tasteless. It cost about €15, baguette bread was charged. Half a carif of wine was charged which came to the total of approximately €30 which is almost $60 in Australian dollars. No balsamic Vinegar was available on request. The price was ridiculously expensive, especially for the price of this dish that was supposed to have chilli 🌶 in it.

The prices are cheap and the food is mediocre. The owner however is quite rude and ruins the entire experience. Italian hospitality is now part of Italian culture, and this restaurant puts Italy to shame. I hope David learns that “good food” does not mean you can be bad towards the people that pay for your food.

A warm, elegant restaurant perfect for a special dinner — we celebrated our anniversary here. The staff were incredibly kind, especially our waiter, who turned out to be married to a Turkish flight attendant and chatted with us warmly. Everything we tried was delicious: oysters, grilled octopus with pumpkin, baby calamari, and crab pasta. Two glasses of white wine, tiramisu, and prosecco to finish — the meal cost €132, and it was worth every cent. Refined yet unpretentious — one of the best dining experiences we had in Venice.

I came here because I was looking to have an experience with the fegato alla veneziana AKA venetian style liver and onions and found them highly recommended through my Google research. Honestly, it was a life changing meal - I never knew liver and onions could taste this good. The liver was so soft and flavorful. With that said, I usually do enjoy liver, and my fiance who hates liver tried it and noticed it was good but he still didn't like the texture/ taste of the organ meat as he kept chewing it. My fiance had a pasta dish - perfectly cooked. The table bread was better than it looked, but it doesn't come with any butter or oil, so I used the bread with my delicious dish to soak up all the flavor and enjoy it more fully. I'm not a big dessert person, but the tiramisu was very good also. The service was excellent! We were very lucky to get there last open table without reservations as we rushed to get there right when they opened, but probably would recommend having a reservation ahead of time as we watched them turn away several unreserved customers while we were eating.

Returning here after more than 30 years, we were delighted that Vini da Gigio is still run by the same family and the food is still wonderful. Everything is done well: sardines in saor, tagliatelle with truffles, the fritti Misti is a triumph - not showy just sparkling fresh and fabulous. Order sole al brachio and they take it off the bone for you in the traditional way. Lovely bread, fairly priced wine and above all the great atmosphere of a well run restaurant that continues to care about food, customers and Venice. One of the best!

My husband and I love this restaurant. After regularly visiting Venice for many years, and having a number of favourite restaurants, we found Vini da Gigio a year or so ago, after some careful research to add somewhere new to our regular list - we’ve always loved Cannaregio sestriere, though more recently we’ve been getting to know San Polo. Vini da Gigio is splendid; the food is wonderful (one of the few places that can tempt me to 3 courses - and my husband to the full 4!) - I literally still think about a beautiful stuffed gnocchi I had last year! The wine list is magnificent - we really love wine and being able to enjoy wines that may not be available to us in the UK. We’ve always had excellent service and, in particular, enjoyed really interesting conversations with the owner’s son and the opportunity to learn more about the culture and cuisine of Venice - which is, for us, the most important aspect of the privilege of travel. This has become a special place for my husband and I. We are looking forward to savouring another leisurely lunch when we are next in Venice. Highly recommended.

The most average restaurant I’ve been to in my entire life, and for 80€ per person. Wouldn’t recommend a single thing I had. Maybe the oysters and the wine, but they didn’t really have to do much with those. The service was good though.

I'd give this restaurant 4 stars. The service was good, and the food was solid, but it didn't quite live up to the hype we'd seen in reviews. It was homemade pasta thou. That being said, we did have some tasty dishes, and the real standout was the dessert - I think it was called "Chocolate Representations"? I'd recommend this spot. Overall, it's a good choice, just maybe don't expect it to blow your mind... unless you're a chocolate lover, in which case, you're in for a treat!

This place was recommended to us and I’m glad we followed the advice. The staff were just delightful, the food was amazing, the crème brûlée was perfect and all the menu very well priced. We had a lovely wine, beautiful zucchini entree, mushroom fettuccini and a chicken dish for main and (I know I’ve already mentioned it) a perfect crème brûlée. Oh - and the house made limoncello was a lovely little treat. Would we go back? Absolutely. In fact we’ve already made our booking. Indeed this is a hidden gem, but worth taking the time to find.

I ate here once two years ago and once again in September. I will describe both experiences. Overall, the food is delicious! The first time I ate here i sat outside, as it was a little later in the evening and relatively cool. They did not recommend a good bottle of white wine. It was very sour. I decided not to say anything, so that is on me as the customer and I won't be deducting any stars from the review. All palettes are different. For starters I got the smoked mackerel, cheese, and prosciutto. All were delicious. The code soup had unique and delicious flavors. The second time dining here, I ate inside, as it was warmer and they had air conditioning. They recommended a good glass of white wine. I got the same starters minus the smoked mackerel as I wasn't as hungry. Looking at the menu now, I'm not sure if they serve it anymore. To finish both times I got their chocolate interpretations which was equally as yummy now as it was two years ago. The wait staff were attentive. Included are photos from both times. I would recommend dining here!

Fantastic restaurant, in beautiful Venice, it seems that it's only visited by locals and very few tourists, as it's not on the main pathway from train station to St's Marc's square, but a bit further. Nice designed interior with many old artefacts and wishes from famous people, old furtniture. We've tried Spaghetti alle seppie nere, then Tagliatelle with seafood and Risotto di pesce (fish) and of course a delicious home made tiramisu (probably the best tiramisu, I've ever had) Staff was very helpful, although it was quite full during our visit, but all dishes came quite fast. Absolutely recommended

We loved Osteria da Alberto! It's a fantastic spot for delicious and fresh seafood dishes at very reasonable prices, especially for Venice. The interior was simple but very charming. It's rustic with lots of wood, with some tables near the window overlooking a small canal running alongside the osteria. Our server was incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about their house specialties. My husband wanted to try something uniquely Venetian, and the server recommended the bigoli in salsa di acciughe, which we both loved. I ordered my all-time favorite, spaghetti ai caparossoli (spaghetti with clams), and I was so impressed. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a generous serving and plentiful clams. I still think about it once in a while. 😅 We can't wait to dine here again. Thank you for the excellent quality and service!

Quite busy restaurant. Cozy interior but a little weird decorations (Jack Daniel’s bottles are not Italian). Lady from service seems somewhat friendly but also a little stressed / annoyed. As she is alone, everything can take a bit longer. Menu limited, not a lot to choose from, but that can be a good sign, as they specialize in certain things. Risotto was good, fish was also OK, but nothing exceptional. After we finished our meal the staff was having lunch, so there was no one to bring us the check, we had to go up to the counter and wait for a while until they could spare some time. Would probably not return, even though everything was OK.

Fantastic food. Was recommended to come here by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. House red wine was excellent, they were very accommodating of our children with plain tomato pasta and pasta with butter. However our meals were amazing - the risotto al pesce was incredible. You have to order for two people but it was amazing, the squid was so tender. I had Angus beef steak and phil had liver and both meals were delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and service. I would say it was our favourite meal in Venice, but this was our first night in Venice!!! Hard to top! Great recommendation!!

We ordered Pasta Vongole and the original Venetian Bigoli in Salsa and it's one of the best pasta dishes we've tried so far in Italy. The place is very quaint and original, away from the hoard of tourists running throughout Venice. The seafood is fresh and the service is really pleasant. It's highly recommended.

Disappointing Experience – they treat tourist differently than locals. We made a reservation for 4 & arrived on time. Unfortunately, we were seated in an incredibly cramped corner—so tight that two of us couldn’t get out unless the other two stood up and the whole table was shifted. Not a great start. Service started off decently, but things took a turn when the wrong risotto arrived. We had ordered two of the nightly specials: the squid ink risotto and baked sea bass. What we got instead was a mixed seafood risotto. When we pointed this out, our server seemed visibly annoyed that we insisted on getting what we ordered. Her response? “It will take a while,” said with clear irritation. After that, the service completely fell off. She never came back to pour our wine or refill water, ignored our request for extra napkins, and didn’t check in on us at all. The shift in attitude was obvious and uncomfortable. What stood out even more was the difference in how locals were treated. The woman at the next table, who mentioned she was from Austin, whose server prioritized locals who arrived after her. The contrast in service was stark. As for the food? It was just okay. Nothing memorable, especially considering the poor service. Sadly, we won’t be returning and definitely won’t be recommending this place. Venice has far better to offer in both food and hospitality.

My wife and I recently dined at this restaurant and were immediately captivated by the beautiful and romantic atmosphere. The ambiance truly set the stage for what we hoped would be an unforgettable evening. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome and well-cared for throughout our meal. Having been spoiled by many trips to the Inn At Little Washington, we had high expectations for the food. We chose the Venetian Spring Sampler from the menu, but unfortunately, we found the dishes to be not up to the standards of a Michelin-starred restaurant. While the presentation was lovely, the flavors and execution fell short of our expectations. Despite this, we still had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The setting and service made the evening special, and we left with fond memories of our time there. We finished our meal and appreciated the effort put into creating such a wonderful dining environment. Overall, while the food did not meet our high expectations, the exceptional service and enchanting atmosphere made for a delightful experience.

Stopped in for an aperitivo for three people with two sodas, one spritz, and two orders of their seafood cichetti and the bill came out to 116 euros. Service was fast and great, and you cannot beat the view because you are right in St. Mark’s Square with a live band playing. You are really paying a premium for the atmosphere and ambiance here. We only did an aperitivo but I can imagine for a larger meal with drinkers your check will balloon quickly. It is a one and done bucket list sort of place. The seafood cichetti were good and tasty but you can find even better cichetti a little further into the heart of Venice.

I went with my grandma to this restaurant 2 years ago. I write this review until now because before I didn’t realize how important it was to speak up about inequalities in restauration. We got to the restaurant and right off the bat the manager was very rude to us. I think it had to do with the fact that we were women because they were treating everyone else a lot better than us. It took a long time for someone to take our order, our dishes were arriving cold, the service was very bad, they were leaving our plates in the table even after we were done while serving the other ones, and we confirmed it was only with us when we looked at the other tables and it wasn’t that way. After 2 courses + the amusement Bouche my grandma was very offended by the managers attitude when she brought up these concerns to him. She asked for the check and to our surprise he charged us for the whole tasting menu! My grandma didn’t want to have any problems so she payed it but honestly, it has been the worst treatment I’ve ever received at any restaurant, my grandma and I felt extremely uncomfortable and belittled by this sir’s attitude and the treatment we got. For a restaurant of this category and price we expected a lot more. The food was alright, but it’s the worst treatment my grandma or I had received in our lives in a restaurant.

Myself and my husband recently visited the restaurant August /25 ,to celebrate a special birthday. We were both overwhelmed with the service on arrival couldn’t be more relaxed and comfortable within the restaurant. The food was truly described throughout the menu and was an experience so unique and delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal and experience on the square. This charming ristoranti is proof that not all the spots in the main touristic areas are tourist traps. Prices here are very reasonable and it was like finding a treasure, with beautiful Venice Barroque interior and gentle staff right in the heart of Piazza San Marco. I loved it and when I return to Venice this is a must go. ❤️

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Given the price and reputation, I expected a memorable fine dining meal, but the food was extremely underwhelming. The flavors were flat and lacked any real depth or creativity. The main course was so heavy and unbalanced that I couldn’t even finish it, and the dessert was overly sweet and forgettable. While the presentation was elegant, the dishes themselves felt pretentious rather than genuinely enjoyable. For the price of nearly €200 per person, the quality simply did not match the cost. I’ve had far better meals in Venice for a fraction of the price. Overall, it was a very poor value for money and not an experience I would recommend or repeat.

If you're looking for an overpriced spritz and to be dive bombed invaded by pigeons and seagulls, look no further. Honestly, this was an entertaining, albeit overly priced, stop at the Piazza San Marco on a blistering hot day. While the shade was appreciated, the people watching top notch, and the music a nice touch, the constant need to defend against aggresively encroaching pigeons and swooping seagulls made this aperol spritz stop both unique and stressful. If that's your thing, then give this place a try, but honestly, for the 16 euro aperol spritz, average at best, it's not my cup of tea, or Campari, right?

We had a phenomenal dinner here!! It was the last night of our honeymoon so we wanted to close things out on a high note and that’s exactly what we got. We had the scallops to start with, the red turnip gnocchi with ‘cardoncello’ mushrooms, and the salt baked sea bass. All were wonderful!!

The food was amazing. Everything we had was above expectations. The service was great and the scenery from our table was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Went here twice over a few days in Venice. Such great food. The pumpkin ravioli was amazing 🤩. Menu changes so nice to have new choices along the way. Desserts were worthwhile and super tasty. And Debra was lovely to speak to and provide the best service imaginable.

So first thing you see her is a handwritten note on the restaurant signage which says „no fish“ which is funny because the name of this place means bollard or bitt which is a pretty maritime term so… but in fact here they serve meat in many variations and pasta. It’s a tiny space hole in the wall easy to miss despite google maps but the location is correct so don’t worry if you don’t spot it immediately. The service was very friendly with the exception of one female staff memberwho basically slammed the menues on the table and left, returning only about 10‘ later to ask for our orders. Not very kids friendly meaning you have to order pasta without sauce iif your kids don’t eat plain meat, we spent about 60 EUR for pasta for 3 kids! The food was excellent including the pasta which our kids loved. We had the artichokes bottoms with cheese sauce for starters which were delicious. Then we chose the sliced beef sirloin with rosemary and baked vegetables which were also great. Classic desserts included tiramisu and panna cotta which were also flawless. Small but well selected choice of wines, spirits and digestives (try the locally made Amaro Laguna Nord which is made with algae and it’s actually really good).

i really wanted to try gnocchi in italy - so my boyfriend found this spot known for it! i ordered their tomato & cheese gnocchi, lamb chops and an appetizer with ham (?). unfortunately, i wasn’t a big fan of their gnocchi :( it tasted extremely soft. it was softer than their mashed potatoes that came with the lamb chops LOL. maybe i’m just not that familiar with pasta texture but it tasted off to me :(. the wait for the food was long too despite us being the only customers… but ambience was great - quiet and cozy!

We were in Venice for 3 days are here first and last day of our trip and regretted not going for our 2nd dinner. The food was so incredible we had to have two mains our last night knowing it would be our last time here. Whatever you do, GET THE PANACOTTA DESERT! It was AMAZING and to die for. We were lucky to go in without reservation as soon as the place opened for dinner service both nights but do make a reso to be safe. We had our Airbnb close by and saw them having their menu meeting and once I saw a chef walk in with his knife set I knew this place was authentically Italian. It did not disappoint, we were blown away each time and the service was nothing short of incredible. Thank you La Bitta, you made us love Venice that much more ❤️

This place is fantastic! We spent several days in Venice and planned a meal here just because they offer a menu with no seafood. It's not a large place so I'd recommend reservations. We started with the carpaccio which was delicious! I had the lamb chops which were superb. Others in my party got the veal and pasta. They reluctantly shared with me so I can attest that everything was delicious. Honestly, they got started on theirs so fast I never got a chance to photograph their plates. Their panna cotta was supposed to be a pretty big deal (not a panna cotta person myself) so a member of my party tried it. The waittress said it was the best thing in her life as she grabbed her hips and gave us a shake. My friend was not disappointed. I had the tiramisu and it was amazing. This place is a must if you travel to Venice. Super high-quality ingredients, a disciplined kitchen, and friendly, invested staff. Actually, great restaurants like this one are few and far between in Venice.

Nice flavors from the dishes Veal Liver & Veal Cutlet (23 & 26 euros) we ordered. Presentation of the dishes is lacking as you can tell from the photos and portion size is small. However, we felt like they did not care that we were comfortable or enjoyed our meal. We were seated in the back corner of the backyard. Within a few minutes after we ordered, we felt a horde of mosquito attacking us. It was so uncomfortable after 15 min, we considered leaving. They did not have space to move us inside since those tables were reserved. Also the maitre d' seems apathetic to our plight "with those mosquitos are everwhere in Venice". However, a restaurant has to use some mitigation efforts to make their customers comfortable like using a fans, remote standing water in flower pots, and offer customers bug repellent. We were in & out in 35 min.

A wonderful experience! Food and drinks were delicious, served with care and flair. A real treat on our last night in Venice. Don’t miss the pannacotta.

Great food, fun atmosphere but not loud, large portions. Slight hiccup in beginning as we ordered starters but main meal arrived first. Kind apology with tasting of new offering, starters then arrived. Finished out with a new twist for us with their Rice Pudding. Would definitely return.

We needed a break from Italian food and came across this delightful restaurant. Had the shish touk with couscous and ravioli with eggplant. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. Shish touk was tender and flavorful and the couscous was lovely. Service was great.

This was one of the BEST places my husband and I ate at during our trip around Italy! We absolutely LOVED IT!! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and if you’re vegan, then I would say DONT skip this place.

Food was good tasty but the service was incredibly slow. Though we enjoyed waiting for the person to come tale our order but if we were in a hurry this wouldn’t be an ideal place to go to. I chose the baked option and still the food seemed fried!

There are times in your life where you might take a wrong turn or sit in the wrong seat, and it works out for the better… like, completely changes your day. This was one of those choices; we were supposed to go to Orient Express… another 10 minutes walk. After we sat here, got a beer and ordered food, we realized that we hadn’t made it to our intended destination. The food was a God send. A chilly, windy and rainy evening in Venice, and this place was just what we needed to get that enjoyment feeling back. Highly recommend!! And great for vegan!!

I loved this restaurant so much that my wife told me that I was not allowed to tell people that of all the places we’ve eaten in Italy over the last two weeks, this was my favorite.

Homemade style food. You get options of 2, 3 or 5 in the menu. We got mantu with chickpeas, beef stew, beef biryani, fried vegetables with yogurt, falafel, kufta, lemon chicken, chicken in cream, all tasty. Biryani seemed like it is leftover from yesterday. Mostly a good sample of Afghani cuisine. A worth try.

My family was catching their breath so I decided to wander around Venice and upon Vino Vero and loved it! Unassuming wine bar with a great vibe. Seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals enjoying happy hour. Everyone gathered out front, on the bridge over the canal, even on boats. And it's an area with plenty of great restaurants.

A perfect little wine bar 🍷 with an original selection — from several crisp dry whites to cider and vermouth. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with people sitting by the canal or even on their boats. What we loved most is that it’s far from the city rush, so it never feels overcrowded. A relaxed hidden gem where you can slow down and enjoy the evening 🌙

Visiting Venice, this is definitely a recommendation. After walking for a long time we settled down at Vino Vero which offered a great combination of delightful small bites and amazing wines. The staff was very kind and knew a lot about the wines, which they let us taste beforehand. If going to Venice you must visit Vino Vero for the complete Venetian experience.

wandering through the northern side of the city quiet, charming, and surprisingly tourist-free. My friend had one mission: a wine shop she just had to visit (she knows her wine). Me? I was just the hungry sidekick tagging along… because if there’s food, I’m there. And honestly? Totally worth the walk. She was pointing at bottles left and right, thrilled at her finds I’ll need to ask her for the actual reviews because I was too distracted. Why? Because CICHETTI. For 3 euros each! 🫠 I definitely over-ordered… guilty as charged. But do I regret it? Not at all. Every bite was worth it. . Good taste in music playing in the background, Indie, Alternative Rock… and yes, “Everlong” by Foo Fighters. Perfection. And here’s the thing, if you ask the barista what’s best, they’ll just smirk and say, “everything.” And you know what? Believe them. If you can, just order them all. Highly recommend.

The variety of Cicchetti is awesome and the different mix of flavors is unique. The staff is friendly and nothing beats the peace of having a cup of wine on the canal directly.. must visit for a drink abd cicchetti if in Venice 👩‍❤️‍👨

I went to Vino Vero several times two years ago and once again this past September. In my experience, two years ago it was a better spot. The cicchetti tasted better and the wines by the glass were more reasonably priced. It is still a lively hang out and I met some fun new people, but it is not the same for me.

We've been coming to Da Ivo for years, and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is truly exceptional. The staff go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable, especially Rashid — he’s always attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. It’s rare to find such consistent quality and hospitality over the years, but Da Ivo continues to deliver every single time. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

I am so grateful I was able to reserve a table at this gem! There is a reason so many return over and over. We were greeted with open arms when we arrived early for our reservation. What an extensive, beautiful wine list! We chose an incredible Gaja Barbaresco. The “welcome bruschetta” was stunning. The tiny peaches in truffle oil!!! Oh my Goodness! The specials of the day were plentiful and made it difficult to narrow down choices. We started with wonderful fresh raw oysters and octopus in tomato sauce. The whole sea bream and cuttle fish were perfectly prepared with gentle seasonings, not overpowering the freshness of the seafood. The atmosphere, so intimate! The staff, impeccable! Thank you Sebastiano for taking such good care of us! I even asked that he sign a book for me…not only did he sign it, but the entire restaurant staff signed as well! If I return to Venice, I will book my reservation here as soon as I book my flight! Again, many thanks!

Had a Variation of Chef’s Cicchetti and Udon. Plates came out fast after a couple of forgettable bocconcino (amuse bouche). Loved the fresh shrimps but all else, mehhh. I go to Japan every year and food here just not up to standards.

Wonderful Japanese Italian fusion. Staff were friendly, welcoming and were attentive to our dietary needs. The menus makes all allergens very clear. The staff speak English well which helps. The room is smaller and fills quickly with lively conversation sometimes on the louder side however the atmosphere is friendly. There is extensive wines available, beers however non alcoholic drinks are limited. Coke was the only soft drink available. We were offered a tasty amuseboosh to get the meal started. Love the cross over of Japanese and Italian. The eel was really tasty, my partner loved the gyoza. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was very good. Japanese cuisine make sense for the abundance of fresh fish available in Venice, but the meal was well executed, and felt very special. Presentation was gorgeous and the flavors were homey and comforting, but refined. The chef’s menu came with about 18 dishes, most were a little bite, but also included more substantial plates. Everything was good, I ate all of it. For around €50 it was a great experience. Small, but interesting selection of sake. The staff was very kind and super knowledgeable about what they were putting on the table.

One of those Venetian restaurants that make you feel you are in New York. A proudly international Japanese tavern occupying an old traditional Osteria (the name comes from that old restaurant), they still maintain the old name at the entrance floor. Simple indoors environment and a small outdoor terrace. Friendly service. Chic and young clientele. Small menu. No tablecloths.

Worst experience in Venice. As good as the service was, we had hair in our food and i got the privilege to go home the next day with food poisoning. Food is also very overpriced for the quality, sitting arrangements are cramped and its hard to sit on the chairs fir mire than an hour.

Delicate Japanese cuisine with Venician taste of fresh seafoods. Every dish is nicely presented in a small bite. Very tasty! If you are super hungry, don’t come here! If you are looking for a light lunch or dinner, and change from Italian cuisine, try it! Good selections of wine too!

Awesome experience. The stuff is super friendly. The food is great — a very interesting take on izakaya with Venetian twist. I had the tasting menu, — 19 items, — the great majority of them were perfect.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. After going by it several times because we couldn’t tell one square from another (lost in Venice is amazing) our reward was finding this restaurant and eating the flavorful food. The service was friendly and prompt and recommendations were spot on! We sat outdoors and the weather raised this experience wonderful. We sampled were of course the wine….duck ravioli and brick-oven pizza. All items were top tier and the meal was affordable. I suspect we”ll return before the end of our trip.

We walked all around Venice to find the spot and it did not disappoint. We got there exactly as they opened and there was already a small line of people that formed waiting to be seated. Everything was perfect and Ennessa was absolutely wonderful. We conversed in several languages (not just English!) and was happy to speak some Spanish with her. I was also able to understand what she and my aunt would be say to each other in Italian which was a lot of fun for all of us. She was so sweet and so accommodating and was aware of my mom’s special condition. She ensured my mom was completely comfortable and had everything she needed throughout our meal. Aside from Ennessa being a wonderful gem, the food itself was outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone instead of going to tourist type restaurants. You can tell locals come here as well and once you go you will see why! We would absolutely return!

A lively and surprisingly large restaurant tucked into a quiet Venetian square — which makes the experience even more puzzling, because despite having a reservation, we still had to wait in line for a few minutes to be seated. For a place this big, that felt a bit disorganized. Once seated, though, the service was kind and quick. We started with a hummus and egg-based appetizer, then shared two pizzas (Dogaressa and Foresto), along with wine, sparkling water, and a tiramisu that was genuinely exceptional. The bill came to €88.5. Overall, great food and energy, but the reservation system could definitely run smoother.

To start from service and finish with the food, this was a great experience for the family. Pizzas were perfect, and burrata antipasta just from another world. The atmosphere just like home garden, with so many happy people around.

Delicious pizza, one of the best pizzas I’ve had so far, the duck pasta is also recommended. Order a tiramisu for dessert, great choice.

The silly boy that was serving,his face was tripping him , throwing down people,s good and drink! Charged me 19 euros for two medium draft beers , no thanks , no nothing, just an ignorant man who couldn't be bothered serving. I intend to come back to Venice many times till I retire, I was 60 years old celebrating my birthday, he wasn't interested, it's the worst service I ever had in my entire life, he shouldn't be in that industry,no manners and a big chip on his shoulder, I've urged all my friends to tell their friends to avoid Naranzaria at all costs ! As it is a overpriced, horrible service with a ignorant guy who serves you.

Very nice outside seating area but of course that comes with a price which is why I can't give 5 stars. I had the brioche which was a croissant but it was very delicious and actually not that expensive. The coffee was the pricey part but it wasn't insanely expensive either. It was also very good coffee.

cicchetti were okay. Nothing special. Like most places they reheat in microwave. These were not stale (but not best). We had: — “meat balls”: flat and deep fried & microwaved to reheat. — Potato & mushroom “souffle” aka potato omelette with chopped in mushrooms (microwaved) — prawns with onions cold on bread — delicious (& reason for 3rd star). — deep fried ham sandwich in batter (microwaved) Overall okay.

Worst of the restaurants to have been in Venice. Place is okay but people are not friendly and behavior is worst. Being tapas bar, the food is short plate and microwaved but attitude of people is so bad that I decided to cancel my order and not eat.

Worst Place ever! We came here and sat down the woman started becoming aggressive. The staff is horrible they screamed at us , laughed at us and sweared in Italian in our face. This is not how costumers should be treated. When we wanted to leave she started waving at us and kissing us goodbye which was extremely rude! The lady who was meant to serve us had blue hair! I wanted to rate this 0 stars but this is not possible. Ended up going to the place next to “cafe vergano 1882” would 100% recommend this place staff is friendly!

Nice bar located close to the Ponte Rialto next to Canal Grande. The place is nice to chill around and enjoy the nice view. The atmosphere is nice and on sunny days it is windy. The waiters are somehow in a bad mood. The toilets are small but clean. Two coffees (late) with ice costs 10€. We didn't receive the invoice.

Absolutely delicious food. The waiters were friendly, charismatic and very helpful. The tuna was outstanding. Wish we were staying longer to try more things on the menu! House wine is delicious :)

Overall excellent experience! One of my girlfriends came here for dinner on a family vacation and raved about it. Me and my husband made a reservation while we were on the plane over to Italy for our honeymoon. Their house made bread was so satisfying to start. We got cocktails, red wine, the caprese appetizer (incredible in taste and presentation), the eggplant parm and the gnocchi. Everything was immaculate. We were so sad to be so stuffed to not be able to squeeze in dessert. The staff was so nice, very attentive and timed every course perfectly. Very much enjoyed our experience on our first night in Venice!

There are many restaurants in Venice but many are just reheating ready prepared meals, they don’t have kitchens. This one is different it’s the real deal. Went on a Monday night. It holds about 25 people so I’d book in advance. Staff were very helpful even advising me on the best wine to accompany my meal. Food - outstanding and beautifully presented. I had the liver and polenta main course (a local delicacy) and couldn’t fault it. If I came back to Venice this would be my first choice. If you want to go I’d advise booking on line as you’d be luck to get a “walk in” table.

This was the best meal that I had in Venice. The grilled octopus, risotto with prawns, and spaghetti with duck and orange sauce were incredible. The ambience was perfect as a couple but also great for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed meal. The waiters were friendly, no negatives!

We had one of our best meals at Hostaria Castello. They made a vegetarian version of the gnocchi that was outstanding. The parmigiana was delicious and the tiramisu was the best we had on our trip. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. They serve their own home made bread. The caprese appetizer was a little disappointing - it's a tomato stuffed with burrata. It looked lovely but was overpriced for a tiny portion. Overall a fantastic choice and we loved our meal!

Got a cappuccino and an English breakfast tea (I've been wanting one for days and this is only place I found that had). Also got pizza a different day (€12 for kosher Margherita) and it was really good. Staff were very nice, especially Angie who helped us multiple times. Fyi this is a takeaway, no seating.

Amazing falafel wraps. The falafels were sooooooo good and fresh. Super good for vegetarian vegan folks. Gujarati, Tamil Brahmins, Jain folks from India who are strict vegetarian will love this place as the kitchen is vegetarian (no meat but they instead use substitute like beyond meat).

Pretty good food here, but not great. The pizza was alright, the falafel was pretty good! They only take cash in this place, although their sister restaurant down the alley takes credit card as well. This is a combination of restaurant and bakery and kosher shop.

So grateful Gam Gam Goodies exists! It’s the only “dairy” kosher in Venice. They have some gelato, a fridge section of some pre packaged kosher grocery goods (like salami, cheeses etc), wine and snacks. This is a take away place, you order and go, but sooo good! We got pizza after Shabbat (which was totally worth sending my husband while I stayed in the Airbnb with our sleeping toddler) and in the morning got a breakfast pita with fresh pita. The dough is made in house in front of you and it is a delicious! The cookies and baked goods are also amazing. They are recipes from the Rebbetzin of the community and so so good!

Tasty kosher pizza, falafel and a wide variety of freshly made pastries. 🍪 You can also purchase wine beer or kosher basics like cheese and cold cuts. 🧀 Take out only-but you can eat you food in the nearby chabad house 🏠.

Such a plus to have delicious food with high kashrus standards , was delicious there pizza on late motzia shabbos , kids loved there gelato, they made us very good egg scrambled sandwiches, . They were unbelievable accommodating when we asked they should prepare us 8am our sandwiches , everything was ready , neat and gusto.

Love this place. Nothing fancy. But solid plain old pizza. The falafel isn't where it's at though. Stick with the pizza, coffee, and pastries. It's also fairly cheap

Awesome cozy spot. Seems like it’s a locally known. I was sitting in the first room by the bar and the vibes were unmatched with the locals coming in and chatting. The food was good too, I had the pasta with scallops and shrimp and the chocolate cake

2we do NOT recommend this place. They charged us €15 or more than what we actually ordered. We had three pasta dishes and one drink each, but we received a bill totaling €72. Upon checking the receipt, we found a €22 fried dish that we never ordered or received. This meant we were overcharged by at least €15. We went back into the restaurant to ask about it, and they simply said it was a mistake and returned the €15. It was a shocking experience, and we will never go back to this place. Not recommended at all. Additionally, the first receipt showed a coperto (cover charge) for 4 people, while the second corrected receipt listed it for only 2 people. No explanation was given about this discrepancy, and we’re still left wondering what the correct amount was supposed to be. Photos, the original receipt, and the corrected one are attached.

First visited in November 2013 — ducking off Strada Nuova into Cannaregio, I found low-beamed comfort, terrazzo underfoot, a counter lined with prosecco and cicchetti. Revived in 2008 after a lull, it felt quietly overlooked by tourists, its name borrowed from Manzoni’s I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed) — less literature, more shorthand for trust and constancy at the table. That night it was pappardelle with rabbit ragù and Treviso radicchio (9/10) and frittura mista with Rialto fish, crisp polenta, clean and outstanding (9.5/10). Returning in November 2024, the constancy was intact. Fritto misto remained light and deft (8/10); orecchiette with tomatoes and smoked scallops was smoky and succulent (8.5/10); sea bream fresh from the market, simple and delicious (8/10); spaghetti al nero di seppia packed Adriatic umami with pasta cooked to the second (8.5/10). Even the home-smoked pork ribs, needing a touch more basting, came with excellent potatoes (7/10). Eleven years apart, Ai Promessi Sposi still proves its name: constancy, quality, and Venetian understatement.

Hands down my favorite spot. Everything was delicious. All the waiters helped explain the food with great details. They took our reservation when I called around 1100. Tried going without a reservation the night before but it was too packed. 10/10 a must try!

You need to know, this is NOT a tourist place to eat and you NEED TO COME HERE! It's off the beaten path of where all the tourists will go, this place is definitely a LOCAL GEM! The service was wonderful. Our waitress definitely took care of us, (she was a sweetheart) informed us of the specials and made wonderful suggestions, that we went with because she knew the items were FRESH! We ordered the sea bass, pasta with shrimp and tomatoes, and pasta with cheese.. Delicious! We even ordered dessert! Tiramisu! I could have eaten two of those! It was so, so good! (Sorry, I did take a picture, but I don't know what happened!) We spent more, but what the heck! How often do we come to Venice! Highly recommended! You Must Go!!!!!

This restaurant was in front of our Airbnb and we noticed it was always full (even on weekdays). We tried their seafood specialities and we understood the hype completely 😄 Our favorite of the night was the “paccheri nevodi” pasta with gamberi and pistachio pesto. It was so flavorful and well seasoned! We also liked the scallops and the lasagna. The lasagna was also good but next time, we will only go for the seafood

AWESOME! BUONISSIMO! My family’s best pick of Venice. We really loved every single dish we had here. They are not just good, they are VERY VERY DELICIOUS. We’ve met a pigeon got our octopus so we couldnt finish it, but aside from that, all the dishes were amazing. We really love to visit here again!

Incredible food and outstanding service, Nevodi was hands down the best restaurant of my Italy trip. We ordered the fish lasagne, codfish, and grilled octopus, and each dish was a masterclass in seafood. You can tell the chefs cook with both skill and heart, every element was thoughtful and beautifully balanced. The cod fish dish in particular was the best dish I’ve ever tasted, the fish was cooked perfectly and everything on that plate paired perfectly together. The dinner was so good that I had to get dessert which I never do. The tiramisu was also delicious, homemade and very fresh.

The menu was very interesting, I must be honest, I was looking forward to this dinner. However I was a little disappointed by the experience. The restaurant is located in a lovely, lively area of the city, Corso Garibaldi, frequented by locals. The staff is very welcoming, and the setting is lovely. However, the quality of the food was not what I was expecting. The selection of Venetian dishes was nice, but it lacked a bit of flavour. I ordered a pasta with seafood, which was totally overcooked.... so a bit disappointed. The dessert was average... I work in hospitality, and I can understand that there are some nights (busy night it was) where mistakes can be made; hopefully, it was just bad luck.

BEST PASTA IVE HAD IN NORTH ITALY. Highly recommend this place. Ravioli and gnocchi was amazing. Riding off that high I ordered a burger (I know that’s silly, but I’m a burger guy and review burgers all over the world) it was a let down. Simply being a patty, I know this is my fault and I should have asked more questions. Maybe a simple disclaimer or reworking of menu description. “Beef patty or steak burger” rather than Hamburger. Would need a bun… Seafood Trio was Devine. Wish I had more stomach and time to eat more of the pasta menu :)

Wow! Best meal had in Italy! I had the vegan pasta and vegan main dish, and for the partner we took the ravioli mushrooms. Everything was just amazing, service could be a bit more smiley, but we did arrived on 22pm so could understand.... Many options, recommended!!

I tried their signature octopus which was good and paired with the sauce super flavorful paired with roasted potatoes very filling but it was a bit on the tougher side and hard to chew. The gnocchi on the other hand, was delicious. Very creamy and soft and pillowy. The beef tartare was also amazing and extra smooth with the quail egg.

Had a fantastic meal here, highly recommended. It’s expensive, but very much worth the price - go for lunch if you want the best value. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. Expect portions to be smaller (plenty!) and the quality to be far above average, with attentive service. Their wine suggestions for local wines were perfectly matched to the meal - I had the Rabbit, my wife enjoyed the fish of the day, and we shared a very nice seafood pasta and a wonderfully simple dessert. Also had a very nice regional Vermouth.

Overall this wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't a star worthy experience, in my opinion. The service was excellent. The room was partitioned so the waiter had to keep popping in which gave the illusion of feeling rushed, but it wasn't. The 5 glass wine pairing was excellent, albeit the pours were light considering the 70 euro price point. The food was mostly uninspiring and safe. The most thought provoking dishes were the fowl ravioli & the ice cream. The potatoes on the rabbit & potato course lacked seasoning. All in all, it was just shy of a satisfactory experience. I left questioning my choice to come here.

Il Ridotto has an intimate setting and delicate plates, but my experience was mixed. The starters and desserts were the highlights, innovative such as the Negroni with a shark fin garnish stood out as the most inventive touch of the evening. Unfortunately, the risotto was undercooked, with grains still chalky at the core, which took away from the balance of the dish. Dessert was pleasant and well executed a bit Icelandic frozen yogurt inspired The real issue was the service: our dinner stretched to nearly four hours, and I’m not exaggerating. Courses arrived painfully slowly, to the point where other tables finished their meals entirely while we were still waiting. The staff remained polite, but the pacing ruined the flow of what could have been a memorable night. I know the restaurant is run by a father-and-son duo, and while the culinary ideas are promising, the service side still needs serious attention. For me, its a pass in Venice unless they resolve this.

We always go to Il Ridotto when we visit Venice from Australia. Last Tuesday we very much enjoyed the flavour of the lobster and rabbit dishes - such surprising and delicious tastes. I loved the white wine the waiter chose for me, to go with the lobster. It is fun to try the amuse bouche and small sweet things they give you free at the beginning of the meal and with a hot drink at the end. They found some real mint to make tea for my daughter and me. They were so kind. Il Ridotto felt like a peaceful haven at the heart of a very busy city.

We ordered from the a la carte menu. The lobster and scallops taste amazing. The squid ink pasta is a little too spicy for me, but my mum likes it a lot. The wine is just average tho. The waitress was very helpful, explained the dishes well Good experience overall if you are looking for a quiet place to dine in Venice!

We are so grateful to the whole staff for their hospitality. Everything was thought of to the last detail. Can't wait to visit again!

A really lovely dining experience. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. We ate from the a la carte menu and it was very tasty. I also had one of the wine trails which was also a nice mix of different white and red wines. This was a really great meal and I would definitely recommend it. When you go to fine dining restaurants you obviously hold it to a very high standard so 4.5 out of 5 should not be seen as a negative at all. The young man who served us was great and very polite. The only negative in this regard was the service slowed a bit as the restaurant got busier but this is no reflection on how good he was at explaining the food and wines etc.

This humble trattoria is warm, friendly and serves excellent food. Traditional Venetian dishes are accompanied by seasonal specialties with local ingredients. Serving staff is attentive and knowledgeable. This would be a 5/5 if the menu prices were more in line with the rustic nature. However, it is Venice. So what isn’t expensive?

We were seated in the back room which was quieter. Great server - she was so delightful. Food was a bit more upscale. Very good. A bit more pricey though. Still glad they seated 6 of us without a reservation. It was close to our lodging.

We stopped here for lunch, sitting at an outside table - our server could not have been more attentive or helpful with explaining the menu as well as suggesting wine pairings. Our food was served with minimal waiting time and the freshest of sea food accompanied with perfectly cooked pasta followed by a sublime tiramisu. Throughout our server was extremely attentive discreetly checking in with us. Our food and wine were amazing. For 3 days before dinner, I went here for drinks and cicchetti. The experienced servers are amazing at their job. On my last night, I also went for dinner, and the food was very good. The server immediately suggested good wine pairing options. This is the epitome of good service. If I were to nitpick, I would say that value for money can be improved. But you know, Venice is really expensive. Give yourself a treat!

A local guy recommended this place to us to try out Venetian cicchetti (I memorized it as similar to tapas). And it was a great experience! We had several dishes that were available and loved them. Sardines fried and marinated, squid, tuna, salami after cold prosecco made our lunch quite unique. Laura is a true soul of the place, always positive, quick and efficient. The desert cake with espresso was delicious. Highly recommended!

We went for a nice lunch and we got it. The girl has been super nice and she let us try also the famous cicchetti veneziani that you can only taste at the standing table. The atmosphere is so familiar and the main dishes were really good.

Disappointing experience despite high prices. The prawns served were clearly spoiled. I raised this with the waiter twice, but each time I was met with dismissive responses, including an eye roll and “that’s how it is.” Even the replacements were in the same condition. Unfortunately, the poor attitude overshadowed the meal, and I believe this will affect the restaurant’s reputation if not addressed.

Refreshing buzz in a quiet part of town. The food is generous with high quality ingredients and personable and attentive waiters. We loved their Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Monteroduni so much that we even brought a bottle home.

If you are in Venice and wand a really amazing food, look no more. Away from tourists, in a quiet piazza, on a rainy day, we sat outside and were served by Jonny himself We had the best artichokes of our life, amazing grilled veggies, a very fresh salad, and the pasta…. The food was orgasmic and the portions were big, and everything looked and felt fresh And then we learned that Jonny is a québécois. And it made us feel even more warm towards the place, as we are Canadians. At the eve my wife was exhausted and I walked in to get a takeaway. We had a very warm conversation with Jonny, and we will be remembering him and his place. Thank you, Jonny, for making our stay in Venice a lot warmer.

Very nice food. Taste was excellent. We had only main dish an it was sufficient. I can not confirm what others wrote that the food size is small. It was normal size. Price / Qality is good. The only topic is the friendliness of the service person we had. He was not so much motivated and I assume not so happy as we only took main dish.

This is one of the quintessential restaurants in Venice! The food is traditionally venetian but subtle in preparation & presentation; the service is impeccable and yet personal and the atmosphere is intriguing, the dining room gives the cosy warmth of a private club. The menu shows much, much more I want to order than I could possibly eat in one (even two or three) evening(s). My wife and I had "Scampi rosolati al lardo" & "Baccalà mantecato", the we shared "Tagliolini scampi e radicchio rosso" and the "Tagliata di tonno" & "Coda di rospo su crema di broccoli" and "Zabaione" and every single dish was beyond compare. We are looking forward to our next visit to Venice and the food & hospitality of the "Osteria Da Fiore".

Although we hadn't booked on what was a very busy evening, they kindly accommodated us. Delightful restaurant with a wonderful bay 'window' area looking over the canal for two couples lucky enough to experience. Food absolutely next level, served by highly knowledgeable and expert team. Worth every Euro.

Early this year, I saw a TV show on Venice and they featured an upmarket seafood restaurant and interviewed the head chef and owner Mara Martin. They featured a local oyster and I was hooked (pun intended) so I booked. It was very special. The way they looked after the kids(we were a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 children under 10) was second to none. The food was spectacularly delicious, service attentive but not pretentious, everything was simply spot on. The oysters were on par with anything Aus can dish up. I asked if I could meet Mara. Of course they obliged. I have the pic to prove it. This experience was a holiday highlight. If you’re reading this because you’re not sure about booking a table. Do it! Now!

For tired, jet lagged Americans the was the perfect, perfetto, first Italian meal. Every bite wonderful and service that was helpful in guiding us into the wonders of Venetian culinary delight.

Its a hidden gem, not even on the top restaurants. but from what i can see all the guest leave with a good satisfactory smile. Everything is in order from the starter to the palate tester,secondi and mains. The food is divine thats soothes my taste buds. All the staff is very attentive , Tatiana is a good staff she knows her wine well. Other waiters are super friendly. You pay for what you expect. Definitely worth it and highly recommendable.

Phenomenal spot for dinner. Each plate is not only beautifully prepared but has a great taste to it. The wine pairings really accentuates each dish’s flavors and kudos to the staff for finding some good bottles to connect the food with. This dinner and the ambience inside is a great date night, dinner while visiting Venice as tourists or anything else in between. All will love it.

Had the tasting menu here - all good to excellent but lacked a certain something. I’m not sure Italian cooking overly suited to small plates to be honest. Worth a try. €65 euros for 3 courses and dessert. Ok value I suppose.

A standout pasta course featured handmade noodles with local seafood, the sauce: briny, slightly sweet, with just enough depth to coat without overwhelming. The pasta was al dente perfection, with a silkiness that carried the flavors of the sea. Vegetables were treated with equal reverence: a layered dish of seasonal produce showcased acidity and crunch. Even the simplest elements felt intentional, from the interplay of oils and herbs to the way acidity lifted each bite. The wine program is serious here, with a curated list of natural wines. The staff guided us toward pairings that were spot-on, crisp whites highlighting seafood salinity, mineral-driven pours elevating the vegetal notes. The service staff was knowledgeable. Lunch at Estro was memorable, refined, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended.

A restaurant with an impressive selection of wine. The food was good - above average. I had the poached egg with porcini and cheese foam which I adored. The egg was slightly under-done. The Russian salad with crab was good, if a little bit too smothered in mayonnaise, and the monk fish was a little overcooked.

We liked this place. Extensive and quality wine list. Food was good but uneven. Some items were next level amazing and some were just ok. It was always creative and high quality ingredients though. Space is small and charming.

I booked a table and mortgaged my credit card online. But when I walked into the restaurant, they repeatedly confirmed whether I had a reservation or not. When I sat down, no one greeted me and gave me the menu. Most of the dishes were not explained, especially desserts. I can't believe they brought me cookies from the supermarket and said "from their mom's kitchen?" A restaurant with no advantages.

We visited Ristorante Local with high expectations, given its Michelin star status. While the experience wasn’t bad, it definitely didn’t deliver the “wow” factor we were hoping for. The food was decent, but not particularly memorable or surprising. Service was polite but didn’t feel especially warm or attentive—nothing stood out as special. The atmosphere was nice, but again, nothing that really elevated the evening. For a set menu close to €200 per person, we expected a more refined, curated, and emotional journey. It felt like something was missing—whether in terms of creativity, flavors, or service presence. At this level, the bar is high, and unfortunately, Local didn’t quite reach it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Extraordinary Lunch Experience at Ristorante Local We had the most amazing lunch at Ristorante Local in Venice. We chose the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was truly unforgettable from start to finish. Each dish was creative, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor — a perfect balance of modern technique and Venetian tradition. The wine pairings were incredibly thoughtful and elevated every course. Alessandra was fantastic — warm, knowledgeable, and even recommended an extra pairing for our pre-dessert cheese selection, which ended up being one of our favorite moments. The entire experience lasted about three hours, but it never felt rushed or drawn out — just perfectly paced and immersive. We left absolutely glowing and couldn’t stop talking about it the rest of the day. A Michelin-star experience through and through.

I visited the restaurant and had an amazing experience! The service was simply excellent, the staff were kind, professional, and always smiling, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I especially loved the open kitchen, the team there is charming, creative, and clearly enjoys what they do. The food was absolutely outstanding! The beet and shrimp dish was unforgettable, and the risotto – without a doubt – was one of the best I’ve ever had. Every dish was beautifully presented, and you could truly feel the love and attention that went into every detail.

This place was an amazing experience on my honeymoon in Venice. When you first walk, we were greeted by the owner and sat at our table. The serving staff had an incredible attention to detail and knew exactly what our table needed before we even said anything. We did the 9 course tasting menu paired with their wine selections. Everything tasted absolutely amazing and the presentation of the dishes was gorgeous. This is a great experience and highly recommend.

My wife and I went here for dinner to celebrate her birthday. It was simply amazing! Very course was an absolute delight. Surprising tastes that you do not find very day even in other Michelin Star restaurants. I am surprised they only have one star. They definitely deserve a second one. The birthday surprise was just the icing on the cake to complete an amazing and unforgettable experience! If you look for something special in Venice you have to come here.

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at Local in Venice, and it was the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt cozy, authentic, and full of charm—everything you’d want for such a special night. The seven-course tasting menu was incredible. Each dish had its own story, beautifully prepared and full of flavor, with just the right mix of tradition and creativity. Matteo made sure we felt at home the entire evening with his genuine warmth, and Manuel’s wine and spirits pairings were absolutely spot-on—they truly took the meal to another level. Local isn’t just dinner, it’s an experience you carry with you long after. Our anniversary was unforgettable thanks to the amazing food, the welcoming team, and the care behind every detail. We can’t wait to come back to Venice just to do it all over again.

We had dinner at Osteria Ai Assassini which was recommended by an Italian acquaintance. We were attended by Maurice. We did not make any reservations but the serving staff was able to offer us an outdoor dining which was really nice. The food we ordered were really good. The ravioli stuffed with sea bass and asparagus were exquisite. Their raspberry tart were also truly divine. The service rendered by Maurice were really warm and friendly. We had a truly great dining experience. Recommended.

I booked this restaurant at the last minute and I was so glad that I did! We dined for lunch and the server was very lovely and passionate about the food describing what made the dish or drink special. We had lamb chops and they were the most wonderful I have ever tasted! I also adore the Bellinis. They were authentic and delicious. Best Bellini I had in Venice. The tiramisu was delicious as well, my partner said he loved their tiramisu the best out of all the places we tried. We loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch again. This is truly a hidden gem in Venice on a street that many people probably overlook. Definitely try out this charming restaurant if you like authentic good food. You won’t be disappointed. :)

A solid 4.5 stars. The service was overall lovely (and the waiter spoke many languages!), just as the atmosphere. We received a small amouse bouche that was delicious. The pumpkin flan was perfection. All the meals were very good. Just be prepared to pay a lot, it‘s expensive. We’ve got 2 critic points: 1) the tuna could use a little more salt. 2) after eating we almost disappeared for the service crew.

We came to this restaurant twice and loved the food and the atmosphere. The seafood dishes are delicious, especially the fish lasagna (a special). Excellent selection of wines by the glass. Service is friendly and professional. The atmosphere: they play jazz records on a turntable and they have a good sound system. This is my favorite restaurant in Venice.

This is a wonderful place in streets of Venice. Enough space, a lot of waiters from whom nothing will escape us. You don't notice but they make sure everything is on the table, there are no dirty plates, very attentive waiters. We celebrated the daughter's birthday and of course they sang congratulations to her. The food was great, amazing tiramisu, gorgeous pasta and caprese. We were delighted.

A typical Italian trattoria and fish restaurant, no pizza here, which we actually appreciated, but it’s worth mentioning for those expecting it. Our kids had gnocchi with meat, which was very good. We ordered the sole fish, caprese and the fish soup, both were delicious and full of flavor. The restaurant is tucked away from the busy streets, so it’s calm and peaceful. Just be aware that they charge a ‘coperto’ of €2 per person, and also add a service fee to the bill. If you want to enjoy authentic Italian food at an authentic Italian pace, Alla Madonna is definitely the place to go. Even some gondola drivers were eating here during our visit, which says a lot!

Avoid unless you are looking to spend lots of money on salty and low quality seafood. Ordered a mussel spaghetti (look at the photo and see if you can spot the mussels) - 18 euro. Food was salty without any mussel fragrance in it. Felt like I’m eating a salty tomato spaghetti. There is also a cover charge of 3 euro per pax and an additional 10% service charge for the total bill.

Tried Trattoria alla Madonna while in Venice for some authentic local cuisine. The black squid with polenta was decent—classic and traditional. The atmosphere has a nostalgic charm, and you get the sense that this place once had a strong reputation. However, it seems to be resting on that past a bit too much. One downside: they charge both coperto and servizio, which is uncommon even for Venice. That felt a bit excessive. Also, the staff could be more welcoming—service was brisk, almost cold. Overall, not a bad meal, but there’s definitely room for improvement if they want to live up to their name.

My wife and I were here from Alaska on our EuroHoneymoon and I can tell you that this place deserves more than 5 stars. Don't expect a chic, luxurious atmosphere. It is your typical Italian mom & pop trattoria with homemade, made from scratch Italian food and VERY DELICIOUS. Yes, it takes a while to get your food but that is typical Italian cuisine style - you are in Italy, not America. The seafood salad was amazing and the spaghetti with squid black ink was to die for, especially when paired with our wine that our server recommended. If you're in a hurry to get to places, don't stop here. If you want REAL Italian cuisine at the pace of REAL Italians, alla Madonna is the place for you. We will definitely stop here again when we visit Italy!

The Spaghetti was served without oil or any kind of sauce - no discount offered, still 18€ The Lasagna looked like somebody threw up on the plate - 17€ What a scam! It was very noisy inside and the service wasn’t friendly. Can not recommend at all!

Such a lovely restaurant to enjoy in the heart of Venice. Was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. The decor was a cherry on top - red walls, super Venetian feel (or at least what I imagine Venetian decor to be). The staff were so kind! My partner is vegan and he had the vegan 4 course tasting while I had the 4 course omnivore. The food was delicious! I strongly recommend- while the restaurant is made up of mostly tourists, it’s not a tourist trap at all. Great quality food and service.

A really incredible vegan dining experience. Delicious vegan set menu with multiple options. Interior decor was beautiful, air conditioned and romantic atmosphere. Service was exceptional. Price was very reasonable for what it was. This should be the ultimate, first class dining destination for any vegan in Venice!

I had the pesto pasta (perfect texture — I loved that bite! My friend asked for chili flakes so I tried some too, and it was surprisingly good), the osso buco (super tender and flavorful), and the tiramisu (loved that hint of booze!). The food was amazing, and the service was just as great (plus, the waiter was really cute haha). Not sure when I’ll be back in Venice, but I’d totally come here again if I get the chance!

They don’t have real Michelin star (just recommendation from Michelin). We took 4 dishes tasting menu . Eel was terrible , bunch of bones inside, tasted bad, presentation was very nice , i wish taste would be the same. Shrimps with onions were not very good as well. Only pasta and ravioli were delicious. Didn’t even finish half of our dishes. Deserts looked cheap and tasted the same. Inside the restaurant smelled like in the basement, that’s because it’s located under the ground i guess. Service was good , no complaints, but it’s a restaurant and it’s expensive restaurant, so i think the food is not worth those money . Paid 330 euros for 2 people. NOT RECOMMENDED. thanks

My family loved this place! Their dish quality is awesome, as well as the staffs. Every staff we met there were very kind and explained every dishes well. I personally very loved the pasta as well. I would love to visit here again when visiting venice

This place right here! Great food, honestly probably one of the best places I've ever been to get food, and I don't care what these negative reviews were talking about, everything here was great. The food was great, the people were great, the atmosphere was great. My partner actually said the Lasagn Ette Au Ragoût De Boeuf was her to 3 meals of all time and she's traveled to dozens of countries just for food. There was even this one negative review talking about a lamp that seemed racist and as a black man it was anything but that, it just had some culture to it that others would never understand. 10/10 would definitely recommend coming here for food and we will be coming here again.

At the side of the canal with a nice view and a small park just in front. My favorite stop for far for local food and great drinks. Good value for the money! For €10 you will have two o three small local bocadillos and a lovely well prepare aperol spritz Usually has a queue but deserve the time

Great little spot for a drink. Lots of locals come here as well as visitors/ tourists. This bar is located right across from a gondola repair shop. We came on a Sunday so it was closed but if you come during the week during the season there's always work being done on some gondolas and it's supposed to be a really neat thing to see.

Great spot to grab a drink and/or panini. The service was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating even though I don’t speak Italian! I was served a delicious “original” Spritz - not Aperol! The bartender recommend I try what she called the “original” (I forget if she gave it another name, sorry!). Very refreshing and a lovely view while enjoying your drink & quick bite. (Also they have a clean restroom for customers.)

Delicious cicchetti and an excellent Aperol Spritz. It’s often busy inside, but you can sit outside on the steps. When you take your food outside, they’ll warn you to watch out for seagulls – which really amused me. It’s not an empty warning; they truly lurk around, ready to snatch your meal if they get the chance. The food was excellent in taste and perfect for a light lunch or snack. As a bonus, there’s a lovely view of the boatyard. Highly recommended for a quick, tasty stop.

Very good. Simple, effective flavours, no fuss yet delicious. Not too pricey too, and mostly locals The tuna with caramelised onions in particular was well liked by the both of us So good we immediately went back to get the tuna again, and the salted cod Salted cod was mild and creamy

Delicious food!! Long line but it moves quite fast and the service is super friendly. It was quite hot inside so I recommend taking your food to the park across the canal.

We finally got to visit the iconic Harry’s Bar. It had a rough beginning as the maître d’ was rude and snooty. The food was remarkable. The service started out well but quickly faded. Harry’s is over-the-top expensive. $30US for a tiny, watery Bloody Mary. $25US for an itsy bitsy Bellini. We enjoyed our expertly prepared meals. But never again.

The iconic Harry's bar is a great little bar. We booked our reservation as we were a group of 8. I think it's a good idea to book ahead as it fills up quickly. Be mindful there is a dress code, no shorts for men. Nice Jeans are ok. Their famous Bellini is really good! And the food was delicious 😋. We enjoyed the veal chop and ravioli, it truly one of the best we've had! A little pricey but you have to enjoy it once. We were here on October 2025 and with drinks and the 10 euro cover charge it came to about 200 euro per couple. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A large selection of wines and cocktails. Enjoy! We did!

An institution in Venice. I came here for an Aperitivo and had the renowned Bellini (22 euros) and a coffee (5 euros). It is a rather small bar, so you may not be lucky to get seated. Also, there is a dress code in the evening - shorts are not allowed.

Harry’s Bar in Venice has a nice atmosphere and a classic charm, but overall, it’s nothing extraordinary. The food was okay — tasty but served in rather small portions, and the prices are definitely on the higher side for what you get. The staff, however, were very friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the place was great. It’s worth visiting once for the experience, but I wouldn’t call it a must-try spot in Venice.

This is a restaurant that’s very traditional and upscale and holds a lot of history but you need to be aware that this does come with a price. We were warmly greeted and asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs, we chose up as it seemed crowded downstairs. We were walked past the bar and the kitchen and were invited to walk up some spiral stairs while the hostess took a different speeder route where she then met us at the top. After being seated in a room full of New York images and natural light from outside we were given menus but before we could order we were asked if we wanted a Bellini. Due to its history it was obvious that’s the main go to. Ultimately we ordered 4 Bellini’s (they are really small) two club sandwiches and water for the table, this order cost €182 The Bellini’s are very good but expensive for the size €22 each. The sandwich was fine but nothing amazing. Ultimately however If you are interested in a bit of history then I would recommend if your budget stretches to it but I wouldn’t say it was a must do in the city and you can fine good Bellini’s and better food else where for a more affordable price.

Super good pasta! We stopped here for a late lunch and was seated inside. Ordered the clam spaghetti and squid ink pasta and both were superb. Staff was super friendly despite being super busy. Loved that there was a clean (but tiny) bathroom for us to use as well. Great place to eat lunch!

Authentic delicious food. We visited for lunch on our last day in Venice and had to go back again for dinner! Small restaurant off the main areas . Open kitchen so you can see the chef preparing g the meals. We had the Pistacio Ravioli, lasagne and the beef ragu Parpadelle which was sensational. The soufflè dessert was one of the best ive ever had. Its just a shame we couldn't fit it in for the dinner visit as we were so full! Definitely recommend. Also the Aperol sprits was just the right ratio. House white wine also very nice and not expensive.

I really loved this restaurant! We ordered the duck ragu and the squid ink pasta (I’m sorry I don’t remember the actual names in Italian). The food arrived super quickly after ordering and the waitress was friendly despite it being busy. No reservations and it got quite crowded quickly, so come early if you want to be sure to have a table:)

Ordered the squid ink pasta and the seafood big plate. Squid and octopus and scampi were nicely grilled and tender though the mussels are quite tiny and would be a lot nicer if they were bigger. The fish could have been clean better so that it does not taste bitter. Squid ink pasta was very nice and delicious.

The best restaurant we have eaten in Venice. We are really picky with the food. Quality and price are very important for us. The menu is short which is also a good sign. The boss is very nice and friendly. The food quality was great Very tasty and original. Small restaurant in a nice and quiet area. We really recommend the place !!!

We honestly don’t understand the good reviews for this restaurant. The food was very average, overly salty, and lacked real flavor. Prices were extremely high, and we didn’t see any locals dining there. We suspect they may have changed owner or chef recently. Definitely not a place we would return to.

Short wait, but with no reservation I was seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Do not skip this restaurant! Go figure the best food I have had in Venice was a traditional Venetian restaurant. All the ingredients are sourced from Italy, and the dishes are all authentic. I had the squid ink ravioli, and the platter of Adriatic fish and shellfish. Both were truly heavenly! Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Oh and how could I almost forget, the Tiramisu!!! Homemade with love, the best I’ve ever had. 5 stars, 10/10, bravo, grazie mille!!!

Wine, Cicchetti, and Atmosphere to Savour - Right on the canal, this spot serves a great range of excellent-value wines by the glass. The cicchetti were a fantastic bonus for us (see photos): tuna with horseradish, lardo with honey and chocolate, smoked salmon with mascarpone. My late mother would have loved it here — sipping her wine, soaking up the atmosphere, and quietly working out the relationships of the folks around her. They are all clear about what is not on offer.

Whao, Whao, Whao! I’d seen this on “Somebody feed Phil” and was keen to try it whilst I was in Venice. Believe me - for lunch this is perfect. It’s a bit off the beaten track and if you go around lunch time be prepared to wait, but the wait’s so worth it. They serve cicchetti, little tapas like bites but don’t let any Venetian hear you call them tapas! They serve every mixture you can imagine. Lots of fish and cheeses involved. My personal favourite was the Gorgonzola and pear. Great for a lunch. We had 9 with water for about €17 I could have had a glass of wine for €1.50. Traditional Venetian fare that’s worth seeking out. If like like food you’ll love here.

An excellent choice for cicchetti! I came at lunchtime and had 8 cicchetti (including tuna with cacao, which was delicious) and a glass of wine. There are no seats to sit down, but there is plenty of space to stand and have your cicchetti and wine (or coffee, if you prefer). Very reasonably priced.

Delicious fish sandwiches, I fell in love🤤. There are very big choice of sandwiches - not only with fish. Prices are really good (1.6 eur for sandwich (24.09.25). Staff are pleasant and helpful, they know English. I'm glad that I found this place. Venice is outstanding!
