Very nice restaurant in the proximity to the Juno Beach centre. Unusually open in the hours that normally all restaurants in France are closed, which is the factor that alone deserves 5 stars 😊. More to that however the food is really amazing with a variety of sea food and fish selection, includes menu of a day as well as other dishes (e.g. steak, so usage etc.). Very friendly staff and really nice atmosphere. Tarrace with a view towards yacht port available.

We've traveled around France for two weeks eating at some fantastic restaurants. This was our least favorite. Service and atmosphere were very poor and the food wasn't what you'd expect of French cuisine. Very basic. Give it a miss, so many other lovely places to eat in France

We had the roast chicken on mashed potato and mushroom sauce. Delicious! Desert was a meringue with caramel and cream. Nice location and good food.

Got to book ahead s it was very busy. Service and food were excellent. Fresh quality local food selection. Our meal was really tasty.

Loved everything on their “mystery menu”! Given that it was Saturday night we called ahead to reserve a table for our group of 5 with a small dog. the host was patient with my broken French and the waiter was also patient and knowledgeable of the ingredients for each dish and explained them to us. 2 of our friends are vegetarian and they had a delicious option as well. Overall a beautiful restaurant, lovely decor and awesome service. Will definitely go back!

A lovely place very close to the Juno beach centre. Outside and inside seating are both elegant and comfortable. The seafood is superb with some unique flavors. The oysters were absolutely outstanding. Priced reasonable. Recommended for sure.

Lovely restaurant near Juno Beach. Staff were very friendly and they allowed our dog inside. The food was very good and the presentation was fab.

First time I write such a review, because a am seldom so disappointed. We Arrired at 21:00 to have dinner. Personnel is not speaking English. It was busy, therefore we had to wait very long for the drinks and food. When we finally got our order, the drinks turned out warm (not cooled). With the bottle of water, there were no glasses. The food was even worse. With our entrecôte dish they forgot the Camembert sauce and the meat had extremely fat. The French fries was raw. When we said something about the service, they commented ‘it was busy’ and that we should speak French in France. He insisted it was good and would not do any kind of gesture. I would never suggest the restaurant. I would rather give 0 stars if I had the change.

I ordered two menus terroir for 19.99 euro each. Escalopes de poulet tasteless. So was the salmon. Luckily we got the sauce. The chef recommended a glass of simple white wine for 9 euro. It's a rip-off. We were charged 5 euro for sharing a dish because my wife could not eat the full course. Very nice waitress apologized and blamed her boss. Stay away!

We were in town to visit the Juno Beach Centre, and we came upon this restaurant by chance. The food was very good, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience.

I read some poor reviews but thought I’d give the restaurant go anyhow. Absolutely no regrets. Very friendly service, superb food. Would highly recommend the oysters as a starter, the wild sea bass and then chocolate dessert. The wine recommendation from the waiter was excellent too, followed by the best calvados ever. Definitely the best meal we’ve ever experienced in Brittany and Normandy.

This was the worst restaurant I've been to in France. The quality of the food in relation to the price is completely ridiculous. Two in our party got magret de canard for 22 euros and it tasted horrible, badly cooked and it smelled off and clearly had been microwaved. The gallete was the worst I've ever eaten, soggy and no taste. The offered us wine that was 9 euros a glass and it tasted terrible! So disappointing.

We stumbled upon this place casually after a long drive, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in a while. The moment we stepped into the indoor seating area, we were greeted with a stunning view of the ocean – the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. Now, let’s talk about the food – OMG! The fish dish I ordered was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked, melting in the mouth while exploding with flavor. Every course, from the starters to the main and even dessert, was exceptional. Each bite was a treat. The service was just as impressive – warm, welcoming, and attentive. One tip: definitely make a reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant is quite popular with hotel guests and tends to fill up quickly. We had a good experience a good time here. My beef steak was really excellent. It was pink in the center as I have ordered. However the sauce they gave with it was horrible, but it was really about the steak that matters. The fish and chips dish, on the contrary; was breaded with full of oil and it almost look like waste of fish. The fish dish was not worth the money. Now the service was a different story. After a good long time we had been weighed on. During lunch they served us, at least they wanted to serve us two glasses of wine not once but twice. We do not drink wine. We do not drink alcohol, so it was quite strange. We refused it. And when I was ready to pay, guess what? The wines were on my tab. And coffee too. So pay attention when you pay.

We had a good lunch meal, service could be better but pretty much good for France:) Fresh food, quick serving, variety of meals and sets. Amazing view, seafood, fish and of course oysters and parking.

Amazing atmosphere to dine, right next to the beach ⛱️ The service was excellent. Food was okay. The oysters 🦪 were the highlight! We had Fish & Chips and Pokebowl with salmon and shrimp. I found the overall price to be a bit high for what it is but that could just be me.

Terrible. Honestly the worst meal I’ve had in France. The staff was incompetent, and the food was really bad. Bland, overcooked, and incredibly expensive too. This place is only a trap for tourists; I can’t imagine anyone going there a second time. Very disappointing. Great location and great potential, but they don’t seem to care. High prices don’t make fine dining, high quality dishes and attentive staff make for a great meal. Just terrible.

The kitchen is very good. Unfortunately, the people serving at the tables have no idea what they are doing. Cutlery and plates are thrown on the table, or simply handed to the guests, much like in a summer camp for teenagers. One waitress was borderline rude when taking our order. She has more talent for doing her nails, perhaps, than for anything in the hospitality business. In a place that doesn't hesitate to charge hefty prices even for a bottle of filtered water, this is unacceptable. We won't be coming back.

It is a very nice restaurant. The waitress is very nice. She tried hard to explain everything to us though we speak only a little French. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing. The dishes are extraordinary. We had a set that contained an entrée, a main dish, and a dessert. In the restaurant, the must is to try their fish. It is so fresh, with their special source, it is very very delicious. I highly recommend it.

Delicious food, friendly staff, good prices

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this restaurant during my business trip. The desserts were simply divine, especially the "Duo de mousse chocolat caramel sur son brownie." Every bite felt like a taste of heaven, rich and delicious without being overwhelming. The poached pear dessert was also a delight, with fresh and bright flavors and the perfect texture. The tartare and other dishes like fois gras and lamb were outstanding, prepared to perfection by the talented chef. The service was exceptional as well, with a solo waitress who ensured that every table received the attention it needed. She even went above and beyond to accommodate our table's request for Courvoisier to pair with a dessert. From top to bottom, the entire experience was remarkable, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

So impressed. As a sweet fantastic the desserts blew me away. I had the "Duo de mousse chocolat caramel sur son brownie" and my goodness actual heaven in every bite. Rich and delicious, but not overwhelming. I also tried a bite of the poached pear dessert which was so fresh and bright. The pears weren't overly sweet and the perfect texture. The tartare was to die for. I didn't go crazy but my table had the fois gras (forgive them they indulged I did not), and the lamb with a deep crust. Not a single complaint. The chef's outside themselves. Also the waitress was unbelievable, working solo on a friday night and not a single time did I feel like our table or any other table wasn't getting the attention it needed. Super friendly and also went above and beyond to help with my tables weird request for Courvoisier to pair with a dessert. In closing this was the total experience from the top down. Absolutely would recommend.

This restaurant is truly delightful. The food selection is excellent with a variety of menus for all budgets, all perfectly prepared. The location is beautiful overlooking the port. The staff are polite, friendly and attentive. You can relax and enjoy your meal as everything is paced as it should be. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Courseulles sur Mer. It merits more than 5 stars in my opinion.

We had an excellent meal here a few evenings ago. Both the bass dish and the steak were cooked beautifully, composed nicely, and delicious. I additionally ordered a carpaccio plate and a cheese/salad combo (both of which I loved). The kids enjoyed their white fish plates. And we all enjoyed the tasty selection of sorbet at the end. Beyond that, the wait staff were patient with our attempts to speak French, and we appreciate that. All in all a great experience.

A family owned place, and it shows! Cosy, relaxed, but with good, tasty cooking. The first time we went the ingredients were fresh and everything well prepared - the only critique I can add is that sometimes they get a bit too experimental for my taste, although some might consider it fun; the antifreeze-colored salt under the oysters, and the strange pineapple-dessert... but since the love shows, we forgive auntie! Don't leave without trying the delicious traditional apple tart... If you're looking for good quality for a decent price, this is the place.

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Ate there this evening. Brit’s are clearly not favoured, apart from the first guy who greeted us. Unfortunately he was not our waiter. All dishes were with us quicker than a McDonalds, and were barely warm. The mussels were teeny tiny, it was a shame to take them away from their mother. We strongly suspected complaining would not be favourable in any way - we certainly wouldn’t have trusted anything that had been returned to the kitchen. The frites were nice and the wine was nice thanks to the first guy. We quickly decided we would eat what we could and go - we were certainly not going to spend any more of our hard earned cash in there. They were clearly unhappy at the lack of a dessert or coffee order (or tip) and so we were ignored - even by the first guy - til we left. To be honest, we were largely ignored anyway from the second we received our food - which speaks volumes. If you see this restaurant, keep walking past.

Nice place with good services. Food was alright but not the best in town . But it had a fair price

My Canadian veteran husband and myself stopped there on June 4, 2024 for a drink and some fries as we were not that hungry and the gentleman working there welcomed us in a very rude manner. When he heard that we just wanted drinks and fries he got even more arrogant. When it was time to serve us, he dropped the 2 plates of fries in front of us like we were animals, without any cutlery. We had to eat them with our hands. The fries were clearly not homemade and not salted. This man was rude and disrespectful. One week in Courseulles so far and this was the worst experience for us. Being Canadians and being treated this way on Juno Beach was hard to swallow.

Horrible service. Very rude staff, bad food for price. Couldn't finish 75% of the meal, and were not picky eaters. 'Gentle'man behind the bar was extremely rude, watched the other serviceman picking bread out of used baskets to replenish new tables.

Our rating all boils down to poor service and poor communication from the server. They never checked up on us and we had to track her down to resolve issues with our meal and she literally just said "Sorry", shrugged her shoulders and left.

Food wasn’t great however they were nice staff and good on time.

The food is amazing, the oyster is so fresh and sweet. The set is very tasty. I will defintiely come again if I visit caen. Can't taste better oyster than here so far.

The food and service is impeccable. Seafood is extremely fresh The chefs made the freshness of the ingredients stood out, the sauces were the perfect complement to the seafood, making it even better. The service staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Anyone visiting the region must try this place.

Close to the sailing school and the beaten path, this restaurant deserves to be known. Very good food for moderate prices, especially from Wednesday to Friday. Menu du Jour at 25 Euros with starter, main course and dessert, all very tasty and elaborate. Service a bit too casual but overall a very nice place to eat

Amazing! Impeccable seafood menus for just 30 or 40 euros, best place we've been to in Normandy. Been before and will go again :)

This restaurant started with fishermen and sells incredibly fresh seafood. We used to take away oysters, mussels, and other seafood such as crabs. Later, the son of the fisherman established this restaurant, which is also listed in the Michelin guide. The seafood here is exceptionally fresh, especially the oysters. They have their own farm to ensure quality and freshness. We ordered the seafood plates, and from the appetizer to the entrée, everything was delicious. The bulot, in particular, was clean and tasty. For those who are bringing a baby or toddler, this restaurant also provides a nice and clean toilet with a diaper changing deck to accommodate your little one. If you wish to stop and have lunch or dinner here, it is advisable to reserve your seat in advance as there are limited tables available.

Had a lovely lunch here on a Saturday, we were lucky to get a table without a booking (I'd actually tried booking a table for 10, but didn't receive a reply - hence why this is a 4-star review). Food absolutely excellent and service friendly. Priced reasonably for the standard. Highly recommend.

Excellent high standard of food. The presentation is a little fussy for me, but the food itself is very good (I had Pigeonneau fermier du pays). The waiters were welcoming, fast and efficient.

We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant last night. The restaurant was cozy and quiet. We had a five-course prefix menu. Everything was delicious. Presentation was wonderful. The only improvement opportunity is the service. A bread basket was offered but not bread plates. The table had wine glasses already set but our wines came with their own glasses. That left the originally set wine glasses empty and at the table for most of our meal.

We had dinner at this lovely restaurant 2 nights in a row while visiting the area. The food is creative and delicious (I love gaspacho and this one was definitely the best one I ever had), the staff is very friendly and speaks good English, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great :) Super recommend

An enjoyable meal when we visited in October. It was a private dining experience as we were the only table for a weekday lunch. Service was discreet and well-timed, if not a bit abrupt. The food was pleasant and highlighted a selection of local ingredients. Some dishes more notable than others in terms of taste and plating. We did not have wine, and were surprised that no alternate drinks were offered to us. I would return for dinner if I was already in the area.

We had a very enjoyable evening at L'As de Trèfle a few days ago. The food was absolutely exceptional, the service very attentive and friendly, and the whole atmosphere relaxed but also very pleasant. We would go there again and again, were we to live in the area or visit again. Highly recommendable.

The best oysters I've ever eaten, anywhere. My wife's prawn spring rolls were so tasty. Our main courses were delicious. We could only manage to share the dessert of fondant chocolate with ice cream. All in all, Superb.

We had an amazing dinner at l'As de Trefle. It was a highlight of our trip to Normandy. All dishes were delicious. We tried fish carpaccio for appetizer and fish for the main course. All had a delicate taste with a hint of asian influence. The service was very friendly and welcoming. There was good selection of wine.

What a delight to dine here for my husband's birthday dinner! Who would have thought of savouring foie gras together with lychee sorbet? The exotic flavours were beautifully blended with French ingredients. Kudos to the chef...

Walked there from Juno centre as ur had good reviews, no idea why! Waited said they were full but both tables on the pavement and ALL the inside tables were COMPLETELY EMPTY, I don't speak French so asked my partner who is French Canadian to double check and he told her they were full. Went elsewhere, ate and returned to see that there were still NO CUSTOMER'S! Rubbish place, rubbish attitude of staff, certainly Does Not Deserve a Good Rating!

Visited an route for evening meal. Good service, and ok food - only the fries are very disappointing .. either they have been waiting very long, or simply badly cooked. Not fresh and crispy at all...

We thought it would be a nice place to stop and have food, it was near the coast and looked promising. We were so wrong! We ordered water and it took 30 minutes to get to the table, all the other drinks took about 10 minutes. On top of that we had to ask twice for the water and even then it didn't come, we only got water when someone got up and went to the bar where they filled up a bottle from the sink and gave it to us. No glasses mind! We found that ourselves, on top of that the bar was covered in dirty rank glasses. Also the place stank like someone had weed everywhere, also some dirty dog was behind the bar the entire time which wasn't sanitary at all. The kitchen looked under quality standard as well from what I saw. ALL THE FOOD WAS MICROWAVED I'M PRETTY SURE!!! No check up on the service either, would never come here again but if you decide to go to hell don't worry you won't die there is a fire station with an ambulance within walking distance so don't worry. Ps didn't even get a spoon with the ice-cream in a cup, we got a wooden stirrer!! They were somewhat okay with custom orders and the muscles were okay from what I understood. Clearly can't cope with the number of people!

Dined here with my friends on October 7 2019. We started with drinks in the bar, and then sat down for a meal in the restaurant. Service was good, and food was reasonably priced. Can't comment on the hotel rooms as we did not stay here.

Very bad restaurant. We ordered food for the family. 4 persons. My son got his kids menu in 5 minutes. We didn't get our food after 45 minutes (maybe longer) we asked what kept our food. They don't give any proper answer. We payed for what we had and left. No excuses nothing.

Food and service were excellent for the price. Best in town. 5 stars until it came to paying the bill, then we felt forgotten. I was even ignored at the bar and locals served before me despite the fact that i was there long in advance. Ruined the experience. Shame. Won't be back :(

Great pizza. But be careful when you ask for water, they'll charge you for it. We asked for water with our pizza and wine. Then billed us for the water. 🤔

Overpriced food. Staff generally ok but one was like he was doing us a favour by serving us. Quality and quantity of food was poor for the astronomical prices charged. €18.90 for small bit of deep fried hard battered fish and small container of chips,leaf of lettuce and small cut if lemon. Didn't have dessert but they were about €9 each. No gluten free option. Poor vegetarian option.

Pleasant service, relaxed atmosphere, BUT terrible food, way too expensive for the quality. Moule mariniere tasted like it was boiled in plain water, and half of the mussels were not fully cooked. The "mariniere" juice tasted like it came from a can and literally made me feel sick. Other foods were also without taste and generally bad. This place is fine for a drink, but if you'd like food, I'd recommend walking down towards the town center, where you'll find plenty of better options for a similar price.

Staff are nice, they also speak English. But the food is average.🙈

An absolute insider tip, cool location right by the sea. Very nice atmosphere and great service, very attentive but not intrusive. The food is delicious and the drinks are exceptional.

This little place should not be underestimated. If the sun is shining there is the beach bar and if not the inside of the restaurant is lovely.

The place is beautiful, well decorated, clean, with fresh roses and great lighting throughout the space. The staff is communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a table at the end of the terrace with a magnificent view of the sea and sunset. As for my dish, I got a good risotto but with a hefty price tag for what it is. :/ For dessert a tiramisu which was ok. But let's get to my justification for being so disappointed with this charming restaurant: the patron. When we were paying the bill, which came to €96 for two people, he kindly offered us shots, a mojito and we started a nice conversation. He treated us very well at first, introduced us to his colleagues and invited us inside where an exceptional DJ was playing with the loudest music and we had a very fun night. The problem is that at the end, when they were closing the establishment, he yelled at my boyfriend and treated him like a dog to get him to leave his restaurant for NO reason. I was in shock and didn't react because I couldn't believe what I had seen and heard. You had really won two good regular customers who were already eager to recommend our discovery during our trip to the North, which was your space, but all went screwed up, you preferred to act in an authoritarian, despicable and disgusting way. This had never happened to us before, and all the qualities that the environment has ended up in the face of this horrible behavior. If you can't handle the pressure to close your establishment at the right way, please close the doors, but don't treat any human beings that way. I felt really bad for him. Run away!

We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the sea, staff are really friendly and speak English well. The wine recommendation was perfect with our meal. Everything on the menu was 10/10 highly recommend trying the focaccia!

Just renovated. Fantastic looking place on the beach. Food was delicious interesting carte ! Service excellent. Music was loud but then saw why they had a DJ in who was playing great music. Very welcoming owner and staff. Highly recommended. Bravo.

Great food in a lovely location by the sea, we were a large party and the waiting staff were excellent with one going above and beyond when one of our party felt cold .very popular place and I'm not surprised.

The location is great, we were met at our table by a young girl who was very accommodating and friendly, but, halfway through our drinks we were given menus at 7 on the dot. We then nicely said we wouldn't like to order food and the man in the picture threw a small fit, and told us we had to move if we didn't want to eat although we had already ordered and recieved drinks. The man in the picture ruined our experience here with his nasty attitude, would not come here again.

Went here with my family. Place is pretty empty for such a space. Unfriendliness is the main issue here, staff need to be trained on how to talk nicely and professionally to the customers. Starter was disappointing, main food was plain (tasteless). Positive points: dessert is pretty good and place is clean.

Great location right near Juno beach. The town is lively with plenty of restaurants around and the hotel is comfortable, if a little tired. Our room, 5 overlooked the the area in front of the beach, the bed comfortable and a nice en suite shower room, not a huge room and I think would be quite warm in the summer with no air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, we had dinner and the food was good and served by friendly staff. Just 4 stars because of the room's tired deco and I think it is a little expensive, inspite of it's location. We enjoyed our weekend though and parking was easy.

Welcome was appalling, customer handling terrible, understaffed to a point where it became comical. There was no coordination in the kitchen either as our table order came out at different times so we couldn't eat together. One stressed server was doing his best, military style, to manage the tables. The two stars are for the food which was very good and the efforts of the server. Despite this we won't be back until the establishment gets their act together.

Basic little hotel, but in great location to check out the town. Continental breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice. Really helpful tourist office near by. We took bus to Bayeux, recommend it....7:60 rtn for two.

Enzo! I'll est le Best! Delicious food. Stick with the sea food... this is the place for sea food. The steak (faux filet) tasted good (delicious sauce) but it was not the best cut. It's a sea food place! Great wine and great desserts too. Ask for Enzo! He is an excellent host.

Great service from our waiter. Helpful and very patient. Had the Muscles Normandie and they were the best I'd ever had. Good choice of wines and had an excellent red Samur at a very reasonable price! Went back again two nights later, didn't realise it was Beaujolais Nouveau night and no available tables. The staff appeared very happy to see us again and equally genually sorry they couldn't accommodate us. Would recommend!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten Moule-Frites at. I can recommend to take the Normandy-Style ones, they cook them with cream, onions, calvados and cidre! Service was very good, its not pricy, I’d say middle price segment. And of course there is the sea directly nearby! 5 stars deserved!

Worse meal ever. The food was over cooked. They didn't keep the sitting order or the orders taken. We waited for our meal so long we forgot what we order. The mussels were brown and very little we had to ask for additional portion witch came after 1 hour correct one hour and after we requested it 4 times. The bill was charged with more items than what we had ordered. The place was so dirty that I was very sorry that we picked that place for dinner.

Had an incredible meal with incredible service at Catleya tonight. Chef Benjamin crafts a sensational 3 course prix fixe menu. The fare is lighter than your traditional gourmet french cooking. But all the flavour is there. The 3 course Prix Fixe is €45 per person and combined with an affordable bottle of wine, was a gourmet dinner without an oppressive price tag. Highly recommended.
