The 11 best Italian restaurants in Jaen

I write about the restaurant in Jaén, which is the second we visit from this brand after a very nice experience at the one in León. Unfortunately, Jaén’s didn’t meet the expectations, even with some of the dishes we tried in León and more specifically with “Mafaldi con ragú de carrillera y melosa”. This last time the sauce was tasteless with very little pieces of meat. Moreover, it’s supposed to contain “brotes/salad sprouts” and Gran Apadano cheese, but the greens were substituted by a pair of rocket leaves and the cheese was literately non existent… Other than that, we asked for grated Parmesano cheese and they begged us pardon cause they run out of it. Also, my friend asked for the Italian beer and they showed up with the home beer. To top it all out the bill came with a salad we ordered but was not served since they lacked its specific sauce… In the end they halved the amount of one of the 2 “Mafaldi” dishes, but all in all our experience was awful.

Worst service ever !!!! The staff were ignoring us, it was very noisy with kids running around screaming. We waited 2hours for the food. Two of our first starters arrived after 1 hour and after 2 hours waiting for our food to come and talking to the manager who didn’t care, we decided to leave Worst experience ever!

We did well coming to this place after deciding we both fancied Italian this particular evening. I chose the arrabiata with fresh tagliatelle and he chose the unusual fusion dish of risotto carbonara. They were both delicious but the rice dish just beat the other one for taste and individuality. We wanted a pasta so decided to try this restaurant. We was not sorry. We sat outside, although about 9.30pm it was still reasonably quiet. After a few minutes, a lovely young waitress came to serve us. We pondered over the menu with a glass of verdejo wine. A medium tasting, refreshing wine. We chose our type of pasta and our own sauce, which I found quite exciting. We declined on the bread basket but asked if they had garlic bread. Unfortunately not, (something I've found difficult to get in Andalusia in restaurants). The pasta was served piping hot, and plentiful. (Glad at this point there was no garlic bread). We savoured every mouthful, I chose the tortellini and arribiata sauce, husband penne and bolognaise sauce. Coupled with a 2nd glass of wine we sat back and relaxed into our meal. By now the restaurant had started filling nicely, but the service never faltered. We paid our bill at the end of our delightful meal, very contented and happy we had chosen this restaurant. So thank you to all the staff that was working the evening of 15th July 23. You all played a part in making our evening memorable.

Selected this restaurant based on its rating but unfortunately both service and food were poor. Pasta without flavour and overcooked (and overpriced). Very disappointing.
