Visited for the first time today, high tea for my sisters birthday. What an amazing place! Really good little find, the food was amazing & there was so much of it! Real value for money, we had to bring leftovers away in doggy bags! Staff really attentive & funny with good jokes! Decor is great too! Thanks for a great afternoon!

On our most recent visit, everything arrived promptly and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone in or visiting the Whitstable/Tankerton area. The Bear’s Trading Company gets it right on all fronts — great food, exceptional service, and a lovely coastal vibe. An absolute must visit if you come to this area. Probably even worth travelling for. Quirky cafe/shop with a good varied menu. Caters for food intolerance. Family run business passionate about food. They do a very nice gluten free afternoon tea.

Such an amazing place that claims to essentially be humble a cafe. I had a fish finger sandwich, which was just simply the best ever. All homemade and delicious! I keenly watched everything that came from the kitchen and it was all impeccable with a presentation to die for. Thank you for being you x

This place melted my heart! We were staying at a local hotel who highly recommended The Bears to us during a little well needed family break… it did not disappoint!! The whole place has such a beautiful unique charm, we went in for a bit of lunch before we started our return journey home… and I went in to look at the cakes, but was blown away by all of the interesting gorgeous items that fill the place! If I didn’t have a train to catch, I’d probably still be looking around! My son, who is visually impaired, has high functioning autism and ADHD was looking around in wonder - the young lady who was waiting the tables was so beautifully patient and kind toward him and helped explain every item without batting an eyelid! He chose such a fantastic cool money box to bring home, and I also found some really unique items myself ❤️ We ordered some food which was amazing!!! I highly recommend the Cumberland sausage sandwich - it was next level!! The prices are brilliant for the amount you get and the quality!! Unbeatable! We then met the lovely Peter who was so cheerful and accommodating to us all, including our little dachshund… we all felt so relaxed and welcome 😊 nothing was too much trouble or stress! Our only negative is that we didn’t find this gem sooner - we all agreed that we will be returning again to tankerton, especially to The Bears! If you truly appreciate a place that is built with love, has so much charm and uniqueness, delicious food, lovely staff, and a nice unusual souvenir to take home on top - then this place is perfect for you!! A really special establishment that has heart and soul ❤️

Great find after parkrun in the morning, super service, food and atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Excellent Peanut Butter milkshake and homemade scones, then a great black coffee, recommend 👍 ps lovely cards and gifts too.

Really lovely and quirky tea and toy shop styled like a log cabin. We had the afternoon tea which you had to pre-book, it was absolutely fabulous. So much food!! Combination of hot and cold savoury and a great selection of delicious naughty cakes all hand made. Really lovely staff and dog friendly 😊

After a stroll along the sea path we decided to opt for coffee though with many cafes / coffee shops either shut or closing up Morelli’s staff were still happy to serve plus allow us sit in despite only minutes remaining before their official closing time. The standard Americano & Hot Chocolate were the drinks of choice and no complaints there plus we were allowed to take our time / chat with no staff member clock watching of tapping the counter. (PS 🐶 friendly) Thank you 👏🏻

Why did it take me so long to discover this place?! Amazing coffee! Delicious crepes and more importantly local to Kent. The friendly and welcoming staff is the cream on top! And bought their Kilimanjaro Blend to have at home.

Cute little cafe with a wide choice of Gelato. The ice cream is pretty nice. They have also a nice secret garden at the back.

Love this place - Visited Morellis Whitstable this weekend. It has a fab selection of ice creams and desserts, so much choice ! The staff are super friendly and helpful. It’s also dog friendly selling doggy ice cream and has a cute little garden. It’s definitely worth a visit.

I was thrilled to find Morelli’s Ice Cream in Whitstable! I’ve been a fan of their incredible gelato ever since I first tried it in Monte Carlo. This iconic gelato shop has been around since 1907, with its first parlour opening in Broadstairs. I was delighted when they appeared in Harrods ( as far as I have seen they left from there), then in Covent Garden London ( still there) and now to see them in Whitstable was such a pleasant surprise. I had the Sri Lankan coconut and french vanilla, and both were absolutely delicious. If you’re in Whitstable and craving authentic Italian gelato, I highly recommend a visit to Morelli’s!

I found the gelato to be alright, but unfortunately, the unfriendly service detracted from the visit. I was quite surprised when I was told, rather sharply, that I was allowed to trying only one flavor—a rule that was completely new to me, as I've never experienced it at any other shop. I ended up going for the flavour I was not allowed to test and regretted it as it was slightly too sweet.

Best ice cream in Whitstable. Great Mother’s Day treat. Staff were really great. Boy with glasses served us with a smile and brought us out our coffees despite the shop being overwhelmed with only a couple staff members there. Coffee was delicious.

The ice cream here is delicious, lovely little spot and the staff are nice too which is always good. They do offers here too which I think are excellent! I would be back again :)

The place is really nice and tidy. It was also a nice surprise to find there is a gluten-free cone too! We went there for the review, but I did not like the taste very much as it was very sugary with dairy taste but not much of the favour that we ordered.

First time buying here, pretty shop. I tried hazelnut and pretzel chocolate. Very slow service and ice-cream is not on par in quality to many other gelaterias. Hazelnut had a strange texture to it. Wouldn't try again unless the place improved.

This place is a hidden gem for all gelato lovers. Lauren and her team are wizards!!!! Flavours are amazing, service is always great and I had a cheeky cheese toasty with my cake and ice cream. I’ll be back for the soup next time (sold out) Keep up the great work

Went for the first time on a Tuesday evening at about 7:30pm with my partner and dog after a long day on the beach. We both had a cup with two scoops/flavours, coconut and pistachio for me and he has coconut and blueberry swirl. Absolutely some of the best gelato ever! The girls working there were super helpful! I also had an Americano w/milk and he had a cappaciono, was impressed by the flavour of the coffee! Our dog tried the gelato as well and approved. Great location along the beach just slightly tucked back away, nice comfortable patio area for eating in. I'll go back for sure next time I'm in Whitstable!

Stunning pistachio gelato. There’s a courtyard which is a sun trap to sit in and enjoy their rich and strong coffee.

We ordered two cups of ice cream and both flavours were very disappointing. The coffee flavour tasted powdery and bland, the mango and passion fruit sorbet was rather flavorless.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely coffee at a reasonable price. Wide variety of ice cream and milkshakes. Quiet ,sunny ,courtyard.

If you love ice cream in all its varieties, go, go, go. By default, I first visited this parlour as the kiosk at Tankerton Cliffs was closed. It was a 200 yard walk back to the car in a mildly warm breeze. It didn't melt. The flavours are extremely realistic. I had coffee and vanilla cream, two scoops £4.50. in a tub. There is also a rear courtyard with seating. It is clean and decorated in Brittany Blue and cream. Enjoy.

The best ice cream shop, ever! The staff are super helpful and friendly. The range of flavours are excellent and I particularly recommend the Birthday cake and also the Funky Banana. Keep up the good work!

Spotted it whilst walking round, just reopened today. Free tea/coffe today but had ice-cream as well. It was fantastic and what a star customer service 👏 no nuts in any ice-cream either which is perfect. Can't fault it , will be back 😊

Delicious, imaginative flavour combo’s. A hit with the adults and kids alike! We had a couple of ice cream sandwiches, a sorbet and a cone. Portions were generous . This is our 3rd year of visiting and we try something different each time - it’s always tasty and keeps us coming back for more.

Best ice cream in Kent! The flavours are so inventive and delicious. Miso banana is a favourite but recently tried the cinnamon and apple which was a dream - friendly staff and plenty of seating. Bears for life 🍦🍦🍦🍦

A good choice which are very flavoursome and priced similar to other places. The young staff are friendly, helpful and polite. I find this aspect of customer service can be the defining factor between different places. I used to buy the lemon curd flavour which I know was a popular choice. This time it was not there. They have a 'card only' policy. I wasn't told that if I had the exact sum in cash, it would be accepted. It's the owner's decision, but I still feel legal tender should be accepted; it helps to budget by keeping a closer eye on spending. It can help those in domestic abuse situations who don't want their card transactions traced. Older people prefer cash too, as it's anonymous and not subject to increasing cyber-crime. It can imply that staff are not trusted. For not accepting cash, sadly I have to deduct one star.

Lovely customer service. Gluten and dairy free options and gluten free cone. Great find on a hot summers day. Different flavours and loads to choice from.

"I don't know why we have wasted our time in other ice cream shops." A quote from my wife whilst eating her raspberry ripple and pistachio brittle ice cream. The variety of flavours are unbelievable. This is definitely not your average ice cream shop but for the same price as other ice cream parlours nowadays. My son had the little bear which was as adorable as it was delicious. You can see why their soft scoop has won awards. Would highly recommend.

Went to get a glacier from bears ice cream Topping were incredible, flavours supreme If you want value for money this place is it Too many choices my boyfriend threw a fit; All he kept saying is: “Where oh where, can I get ice cream like at bear. A Whipped cream dream, with sauce and topping their theme. God I’m a meme!”

Modest selection of flavours done reasonably well, chocolate lacked a bit of strength but vanilla was nice. Sadly I did get a slightly stale waffle cone though. Fudge was utterly delicious though

I've tried alot of nice ice cream in my time but I got to say this place is by far my favourite, It has lots of different ice cream flavours to choose from, It's right next to the beach as well so can get your ice cream and walk to the beach thank you for the brilliant service you provide 👍 up from me

This is not gelato. This is ice cream being sold at gelato prices . Gelato has different ingredients and is made and stored differently to ice cream. Save your £3.50 and give it to the man in the ice cream van.

Bought 4 different cakes for my family. Absolutely delicious. Trying to cut bits off without them noticing. Not sure it's worked. Close to the train station. Don't wait to buy on the way home they'll have sold out.

Have always walked past here but have never been in, decided to pop in today as it was open and try out two of their cakes, I’m so glad I did - they’re delicious! John was absolutely great! Me and my girlfriend did the chocolate making experience on Valentine’s Day and had a really lovely time. The place was very clean and modern, there is so many toppings to choose from and most of all the chocolate is delicious! I would recommend for any day out or activity with the kids! Thanks John!

Visited today (28th August) for the make your own bars with my family of 5. From the off the owner was very accommodating explaining the process and what we were going to do. His story of creating this great local business during COVID was really nice to hear. The kids ages ranged from 7 to 12. The owner was great with them asking if they had any interesting facts and what they wanted on their chocolate bars. The bar making process was fantastic, he allowed the kids to operate the chocolate machine whilst helping and allowing them to pick whatever toppings they liked. This experience was seriously 10/10, we as a family loved the experience and what's better the chocolate bars were fantastic tonight with a nice cup of tea. Amazing experience from start to finish. What a brilliant way to spend an hour. Making chocolate. Very interesting and the product is absolutely delicious with nearly 50% less sugar that other brands. Unbelievable. Had a fabulous walk around Brogdale farm whilst we waited for the chocolate to set.

My husband had booked the 500g chocolate bar making for my birthday, it was a lovely shop, super clean and smelt delicious! We were in and out within 15 minutes, and upon reflection we didn’t have the most friendliest host. No introduction, and no tasting. Just choose the toppings, and leave! He was very sarcastic, said how much he hates chocolate and basically gave the impression he hates his job! Chocolate is delicious, but just wish that it was a happier, friendlier experience!

My husband and I went there to make our own chocolate bars this morning as part of my birthday treat. We were met by Johnny who told us about different chocolates, the meaning behind the shop name, and a general chat about all things chocolate. He showed us how to make the chocolate bars, and use the amazing machine. Literally think chocolate heaven taps.. We then popped out for a mooch around town, came back and had the best mocha in the world. Such a lovely local gem. We will definitely be back with the kids. The chocolate is unreal! The BEST chocolate I have ever tasted... Galaxy and Cadbury move aside...

I visited this place yesterday at their new location in whitstable! The shop was beautifully laid out with plenty of options to choose from. The mega shakes are so big! And delicious. Seating area was lovely so could look out the window whilst enjoying a nice cold milkshake. Offers all sorts of different things and is definitely worth a visit! Thank you!

I booked this for my son's birthday, he was 27 ! It was a wonderful experience and such a lovely way to spend time together.John is an amazing host and was very hospitable to us .we had a lovely chat and the chocolate is lush !! I would urge anyone thinking of booking this to go ahead and now my 22year old daughter wants to book next !!!this is definitely as great for adults as is for children!
