Any travel guide in Amsterdam will tell you to stop by Winkel for their famous apple pie, and it’s absolutely worth it. I’m not even an apple pie fan, but this one was really, really good. The crust, the filling, everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Yes, there’s a long line, but they run the place like a well-oiled machine. The line moves quickly, the pies are constantly coming out fresh, and the drinks are made in no time. If you get lucky and snag a seat outside, you can enjoy your dessert while people watching. Inside seating is nice too, especially by the window, though the space itself isn’t particularly special. Still, it’s a must-try spot in Amsterdam. Definitely worth the stop for a slice of their iconic apple pie.

Great place to taste apple pie… queues can get long but they have outdoor seating too! The slices are quite big so sharing between 2 would work! Highly recommended!

Came because of the hype and a recommendation from a local friend of ours and this place’s apple pie reputation is very well deserved. We came at a good time so we were seated right away (2 people). Service was a bit slow because of the amount of people so it’s understandable. The pie itself was fantastic. No words to describe how good it was, so I rate it 10/10 for ruining apple pies for me because I don’t think I can get it anywhere else that’s this good. The coffee was good as well!

Amsterdam locals make sure you put this shop on your to-do list when in Amsterdam. It’s open until 2am and has amazing apple cake. You MUST get it with whipped cream and a hot drink (Irish coffee or hot chocolate preferred). There’s seating inside with warm cosy seating and a bathroom downstairs. Card and cash accepted. Highly recommend

Very busy, but got a seat outside on a Friday afternoon. The apple pie was delicious- warm & freshly made, and not too sweet or buttery, with the optional added bit of sweetness with the whipped cream. Could've easily eaten another slice! Great spot for people watching as well. Definitely need to hire more staff though - there were only two servers managing everything outside (taking orders, clearing up, delivering the food/drink to both eat-in and takeaway customers). They were calmly efficient, but still clearly overwhelmed from being so understaffed. Overall worth the hype, as it's a fun bustling intersection with an upbeat atmosphere. Don't know if it's legitimately the best apple pie in all of Amsterdam, but it still tastes delicious and the location feels very cozy & communal :)

This is a little gem! We stopped as our eyes caught the glimpse of their window from a cross the street , it was pretty. The shop is small but very clean and presentable, there was a huge variety of fresh creamy cakes, biscuits and chocolates. We decided to get 4 cakes to go and the lady that served us was so kind and packed them so we could enjoy them while walking . This was a treat for our taste buds, so fresh and light, full of flavour. When we go back we will definitely pay another visit and try other treats. This is definitely a place that is worth coming back to and needs to be recommended.

Unchanged since 1928 Patisserie Holtkamp holds a special place in the hearts of locals, the facade at Vijzelgracht 15 providing only a small glimpse of the treasures within its beautiful Art Nouveau interior. A tightly packed space, all four walls filled with delicacies ranging from handmade Chocolates and Cakes to packaged Confections, staff takes an old-time approach to hospitality by greeting each guest with warm smiles before boxing each item carefully. Far more than Pancakes and Syrup Waffles, a Baba in thick Syrup as sweet as it is boozy, fans of Canele will find Holtkamp nearly as good as those in Bordeaux with a generous crunch giving way to mellow Cake with the texture of Custard. Also offering Macarons and Feuilletine, tempting but not enough to replace three Chocolates including one with Honeycomb, Dutch Tompoucen comes highly recommended thanks to all the elements of a Napoleon but more Pastry Cream.

I walked past this pastry shop and got the lemon cake. It’s the best I’ve ever had. The clerk is so friendly and patiently explain each flavor to me. I would love to visit again!

Open early on Sundays- worth getting up for! Excellent varied menu. We had florentine and BR special. Both very well executed. Super garlicky spinach and yummy think bread. Friendly efficient service.

Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor, presentation, and overall quality — which was very unexpected. The bread was cut too thick and had no taste, it wasn’t toasted or spread with butter. Adding simple touches such as garlic butter, cheese sauce, or other flavor elements could make a big difference. All three dishes we ordered were completely bland. These days, it’s easy to find inspiration online for improving flavor and presentation, and I believe there is definitely room for improvement.

We had a tasty brunch here on a Sunday morning. My only wish was that the wait list system worked because I tried to join the wait list as we were walking there and it wasn't working... Of course we arrived and the place was full so we could only add ourselves once we got there. This meant that we could only get bar seats which was a bit tight for space. Aside from the seating situation the food itself was great. We got the Navajo Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were delicious and had a good balance of fresh ingredients with savoury elements.

Great breakfast and healthy options 🌸 We got early breakfast here. We ordered the B&R breakfast with side eggs and avocado with coffee and matcha. Everything is delicious and fresh, especially the pancakes. The portion sizes are good. Coffee and matcha latte was also good. Quick and friendly service. Highly reccomend and would visit again =)

I ordered the B&R Special with extra avocado instead of bacon. The eggs and bread were delicious, and the butter elevated the whole dish. The orange juice was fresh, but the pancakes were underwhelming compared to the rest. Nice atmosphere and excellent service, overall, a solid 5 stars despite the pancakes.

Super cosy spot in central Amsterdam without being too crowded in the streets surrounding. Clearly a popular spot since it was so crowded inside though! All of the cakes looked delicious (lots of vegan and gluten free options). We went for a savoury treat this time and the portions!! HUGE! Will definitely be back to try the sweets!

This beautiful little bakery makes the most amazing looking and tasting baked good! The owner and her team efficiently handle the store and it's many many walk in customers. And the food is truly heavenly! Every 10 minutes you can watch a new tray of delicious baked goods being taken across from the kitchen to the display window 🙂

A magical place! You’d need to spend a whole week in Amsterdam just to try everything here. The pistachio cream aragostine and the cinnamon buns are an absolute must! Thank you for such a cozy and atmospheric café.

All their products are amazing. You can easily buy the products we tried. The soup of the day was eggplant soup. It may look a bit strange, but it tasted delicious. The service might be a bit slow, but we go there to be calm and relaxed. So it was a very nice experience for us.

AMAZING!! I’m so happy I found this place, we ended up coming back twice! This little place is small on the inside, but they do have an upstairs as well. The windows are lined with fresh pastries and baked goods. Delish!! They have a tiny patio with 3 tables that is right over the canal! Luckily we got to sit there and people watch, while enjoying our breakfast. Coffees were amazing. Baked goods, so fresh and delicious. We ended up eating some sandwich’s as well, tuna melt was excellent. The have homemade jams which we took some home with us! Overall this place was a perfect breakfast/lunch spot

Went for the carousel gimmick, but the pancakes were actually really nice. The kitchen is visible from the dining area and it was fun to watch all the pancakes being prepared through the carousel. The food was generously topped and tasted great. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of room for lunch on a Tuesday with no wait. Would recommend.

Cute pancake Spot that attracts locals and tourists and further away from the tourists crowd. I had the traditional Dutch pancakes poffertje with egg liqueur and whipped cream. Super happy with the flavors and portion, not too sweet and a good amount of food.

Very interesting atmosphere, as you are in a carousel, as the name implies. Huge menu, fast service. Ordered Belgian waflles, was nice, but a bit dry.

We go here for the Poffertjes every time we visit Amsterdam and it never disappoints. Each order comes with 20 Poffertjes and we always order two and grab a table facing the middle for the full experience. It’s SO good!

This place is so cute and the Poffertjes were delicious! The fact that it’s in an old carousel is very charming. Though, there are definitely lots of kids running around screaming, it’s still a good time.

We had the traditional Dutch pancakes, with banana and Nutella, which were incredible. The service was fast and courteous. The atmosphere was beautiful because we sat outside in a park-like setting, and it was a beautiful day outside. I would highly recommend eating here and can't wait to return.

However, if we’re talking pure value for money, I personally feel that the red-themed shop nearby still wins. That one delivers a more satisfying experience in terms of both flavor and portion size. Still, this spot is worth trying if you’re in the area and don’t mind the wait.

Rudi's was my first experience with fresh stroopwafels and they were delicious! The waffle was thin and crispy and the filling was not overly sweet. I prefered the version without chocolate. I visited the Albert Cuyp Market on a Friday around 11 AM and there was a line for Rudi's but it moved very quickly. Note that the line is mostly uncovered so you'll be exposed to the elements. You can also buy a package of 10 stroopwafels, which makes great gifts. Just make sure if you choose to buy the metal tin for the stroopwafels, you grab a package of stroopwafels as well (otherwise you will have just paid for an empty metal tin).

Tried the original one and it was warm, crispy and delicious. Might be a little too sweet for your taste palette if you’re not a sweet tooth. Great and friendly service! Its a small truck so don’t expect any seating area!

Honestly, delicious. Is it BETTER than other places? As a tourist, it’s hard to know. Still, the food was delicious, affordable and the stall was set up for a crowd so the service was fast and efficient. Worth a visit, but don’t feel bad it you can’t make it or stop somewhere else.

The waffles were very flavorful, with a pleasant cinnamon and caramel aroma. The staff there are fantastic. Be sure to buy their waffle packages so you can enjoy the great taste even after your trip. I’m not a fan of adding unrelated toppings to waffles like many places in Amsterdam, which are often expensive, but here you can find the best classic waffle.

Generous amount of caramel & surprisingly not too sweet- however, it's nothing actually particularly special compared to others in the city, so in my opinion it's not worth waiting in the very long line. You can get equally great, freshly made stroopwafels elsewhere without the hassle. Service is very friendly however :)

It was a long-awaited visit to the original stroopwafel shop! I’ve tried so many versions over the years—even the ones from Costco—and have always been a fan. I even tried the fresh ones from Hans Egstorf once, but honestly didn’t like them (and they charge twice the price of Rudy’s!). We arrived “early,” around 10:50 a.m., before they officially opened, and there were already a few people in line. The father who founded this famous spot was such a gentleman—so kind and warm—and his son, who made my stroopwafels, was funny and just as friendly. We started with one original and one chocolate-dipped stroopwafel, plus a tin of pre-made ones to take home. After trying both, we preferred the original. We walked around a bit, then decided one tin just wasn’t enough (lol), so we went back for another fresh original and another tin to bring home. By then, the line was long, but it moved super fast. I wouldn’t say the fresh ones are necessarily better than the pre-made ones—they’re just different. The fresh ones are warm and crispy, while the pre-made ones are cold and crispy, each with its own charm. With a nice cup of coffee or tea, both are absolutely delicious. All in all, I loved the whole experience and will definitely be back next time I’m in Amsterdam. The price of €3 is very reasonable too! Note to the neighboring vendors: one of you should seriously consider selling good tea, coffee, or hot chocolate to go with Rudy’s stroopwafels instead of those ubiquitous t-shirts! Trust me—you’d do far better business. One needs a drink to go with these stroopwafels… otherwise, you might just choke from all that deliciousness! 😄

So glad I went out of my way to buy stroopwafels here before we went home. They aren’t exactly the kind you see in all the other shops. They are more like a very thin spiced biscuit with the caramel inside. And I loved it!

This stroopwafel was honestly the best I’ve ever tried! Perfectly balanced in flavor, not overly sweet, just the right amount of caramel, and so tasty with my coffee. The texture was soft but still had a nice bite to it. A must try if you’re looking for an authentic and delicious treat..

This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.

I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

It is located on the back parallel street to the famous Damrak Street. Prices start from 1.6 euros. It consists of a mixture of cream and ice cream. Credit cards are definitely not accepted, only cash. The owner is surly and uninterested. They prepare the ice cream without wearing gloves. The place is very small. There are also small desserts other than ice cream, but I couldn't ask what it contains because the owner is very surly. You can ask for ice cream in a cone or with a waffle. I think the price-performance was not good. They should learn how to treat tourists well and hygiene conditions immediately. Owner didn't give a receipt even though he took the money in cash.

A very unique ice cream experience. This is a VERY small spot with no seating indoor or out. The menu offerings are very minimal. The staff was very friendly. This is CASH ONLY. There was a line out the door. The whole thing felt like the Seinfeld soup episode. All that being said, I would highly recommend. The taste of the ice cream was like nothing I’d had before. More like a whipped cream than an ice cream. A must try experience if in Amsterdam city centre.

It is always a pleasure to visit De Drie Graefjes. The service is constantly great and there is a tempting selection of cakes on display. Their red velvet and mash-up cake are really tasty and firm favorites of mine. The generous slices of cake are a real bonus and make it feel well worth the price.

I had a lovely experience at De Drie Graefjes. I stopped in for a drink and a slice of red velvet cake and it was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. I felt comfortable right away. It really felt like a little oasis in the middle of the busy city. The cake slices are large and incredibly delicious and the coffee is strong and well-made. I even took a slice home because it was so good! There are plenty of cozy seating areas upstairs and the free Wi-Fi makes it an easy place to relax for a while. A very charming café. I’ll definitely come back.

I usually come here for the cakes, but this time I decided to try something different and have a meal instead. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. I ordered the avocado toast – something I often enjoy elsewhere – but what I got was literally just dry toast with a blob of avocado slapped on top. No seasoning, no flair, just… bland. Tried to save it with some salt & peper, but no. It came with some uninspired nacho chips on the side as well, which didn’t help much either. I ended up sending it back. Apparently, you can add extra toppings (for an extra charge), but honestly, the basic version should still be decent enough to serve. There were a few other small things too, but I think this review is already long enough. Next time, I’ll happily stick to the cakes

Placed an order for my 30th bday and paid extra for the writing of “Fabulous 30”. I think the picture I uploaded says enough about the quality and the decor of the cake.. My 5 year old niece would have written it better and at least centered. 71 euros down the drain🙃

Great overall experience here at “The Three Graefjes” at the Rokin. The crew is friendly, welcoming and proactive. I was here on a Tuesday afternoon around 2PM and it was not busy at that time. The interior feels modern, with a vintage vibe. It’s clean and tidy. I wanted to try their red velvet cake, and I have to say… it was definitely tasty, not too moist, not too dry and most importantly not overly sweet! Make sure to leave some room, because the cake itself is quite heavy! If you order a drink, I recommend to order it without a lot of sugar added to it. Since the cake itself is sweet enough. Definitely recommended to try some of their delicious cakes!

Great place with lots of grilled and barbecue options. Very tasty and of course halal. Pastry 🍰 options are amazing. Haven for sweet lover really recommend. Keep in mind finding a parking spot is difficult in the evening.

I don’t know how it’s possible. The rate is so high is definitely definitely. It is over rate plus yes employees or nice friendly how possible they doesn’t have WiFi N I know how Turkish tea tease unfortunately it’s not fresh. I asked them to make it black coffee unfortunately I don’t think I will come back again by the way, so maybe they sold out or they don’t have some item on the which is in the menu.

Hi , I like the place, music and some dishes like KABAB and Trilitcha so much but I ordered Warm chocolate milk, it was not good , it is like hot water with a little sugar, I don't recommend it at all..I asked to change it ,they gave me an other glas but unfortunately It was the same..😤.. My experience at this café was not up to my expectations. The service was quite slow, which slightly spoiled the experience. As for the quality of the products, it was disappointing, especially the pastries. I particularly advise against ordering it, they were overly sweet and for the baklava or künefe of rather average quality comparing with the prise. In my opinion, it’s possible to find much better options nearby, especially with the presence of several similar establishments in the area.

Absolutely delicious turkish desserts!! Definitely recommend the different baklavas and künefe with turkish ice cream. The tres leches was pretty good too, but we might have had a corner piece since the cake portion was pretty thin. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place but make sure to make a reservation as it can get very busy!

It’s perfect if you want to taste real Turkish food without going there. Everything tasted exactly as it would taste in Turkey and the quality is great! Highly recommend! It’s a lil pricey though, but honestly I think it’s worth it. I also love that you can sit under the heater outside when it rains.

Way too expensive, 6.09 EURO for A cookie!!!??? And also kind of scamming, no price labels for the expensive cookies, for the cookie itself just a very sweat dough, with lots of chocolate sauce , u can definitely find one to replace it in your own area.

At first glance, these cookies might not look like much. On the outside, they resemble a New York bagel. But don't let that fool you. They are dense, sweet, amazing cookies! It's hard to finish one in one sitting. Each bite takes effort (in a good way). I recommend to eat it slowly, and each cookie can be easily shared without feeling you missed out on it.

A small stuffed cookies and donuts shop with different flavors. We tried the red velvet cookie and it was good but not as fresh as we would have preferred, possibly because we went there one hour before the shop closes (around 7 pm) and they make their cookies in the morning. I would give it 3.5 stars but it’s not an option.

Never really been sold on vegan pastries, but this place got closer than I expected. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday morning. Came about an hour after opening and luckily didn’t hit a line. The shop itself was tiny (3 cramped tables), and I only grabbed a seat because a kind stranger offered to give his up. There’s a bigger deli with proper seating across the canal, but the pastry selection wasn’t the same. Pistachio Raisin Cruffin – Supposedly their pistachio cruffin is the signature, but on my visit it came in this pistachio-raisin detour. The interior was plush and moist. But as some locals pointed out, they no longer use pistachio cream, so pistachio barely whispered through. More like a dressed-up raisin bread than the nutty pastry I had in mind. Pain au Chocolat Hazelnut – Don’t see a lot of twists on pain au chocolat even in trendy bakeries, but this worked. Lamination was on point, crisp outside and structured inside, and instead of the usual baton of chocolate, it came with a hazelnut mousse filling and almond chunks on top. Missing that buttery perfume of a true viennoiserie, of course, but still satisfying. The mousse ran a tad mild at first, but hidden bits of chocolate inside pulled it back nicely. Salted Pistachio Cream Latte – Clearly targeted for American tourists (and judging by the crowd, it seemed to be working). The latte itself was a bit flat though. Much like their cruffin, the pistachio cream was too faint.

I would say this bakery is a must visit for ANYONE - but particularly if you're a vegan. There's a different variety of pastries available every day and every one I tasted was crispy and flaky, with incredible flavour combinations. I ended up coming back a second time because it was too good! (Only con is very limited seating indoors, although you can get a drink at the pub opposite where there's more seating.)

It was good—not a “5-star amazing” experience, but an ordinary, nice taste. Instead of the classic, it might be better to try the pistachio or almond ones, at least you really get the flavor. A vegan bakery gem for pistachio lovers Saint-Jean is an incredible vegan bakery. I tried the pistachio cruffin, and as a true pistachio fan, I can honestly say it had the best pistachio filling I’ve ever tasted. The filling was rich, full of flavor, and there was plenty of it — no stingy portions here! The dough was just as impressive: perfectly baked, soft yet flaky. A must-visit spot if you love pastries, vegan or not.

On the other hand, the yogurt berry toast was disappointing, The toast itself was quite dry, and the combination with the yogurt icing felt mismatched—the textures clashed, and the flavors didn’t come together as well as I’d hoped. Everything was goed. I was craving a carrot cake, this was the nearst decent café to my location. Nice staff, cozy sfeer and the carrot cake didn't disappoint me. We love this place, and always get vegan party options here for our son who is alergic to dairy. To be honest everybody is jealous of his allergy when they see him with his sea salt and chocolate cake! The drinks are very nice and different too, and the place small but cozy. I have been religiously ordering cakes online from Sea Salt Chocolate and they have been the best we have ever had. Their double chocolate and salted caramel flavours stand out, I have yet to have a more tasty chocolate flavoured cake and it's no exaggeration! Came there on a rainy Monday and the place got me at hello. The smell was absolutely nice and the atmosphere ummmm so warm and cozy it felt like another world inside. We entered when the staff was calligraphing with her handwriting and yh I understand why they made so scrumptious treats (she said they had baking team but let me take this as an impression) We had 1 of the best selling cakes, a sticky toffee pudding, and the fresh baked cookies smell sold us 2. All delicious!! Hope to come back again, you all saved our ade trip to amsterdam with this weather love from Italy🇮🇹

One of the best ones in Amsterdam! Simply loved there creations. My review is dated several years back but I have tried their products many many times and consistently they have been great! Best to make a part of your celebrations or carry a few goodies on a picnic. Loved macrons, pastries, cakes, every thing!

When i asked for their best dessert I got 2 recommended... So this is a dessert showdown on which is the best. The fruity one or the caramel desert... Both desserts are amazingly well balanced and not overpowering in sweetness... Delicious and decadent... What more do you want!? So the answer to what is the best dessert? We are split wich one is better..... But since I am writing this review, I would go for the fruity one.

So far this is the best patisserie that I tried in Amsterdam I LOVE IT! All the pastries are gorgeous and as a chocolate lover I can say that also the merengue lemon pie is stunning. Service is also perfect. I hardly found that level of courtesy in other places in Amsterdam.

Found this place on google map. Had a pleasant visit today. This dessert store is soooooooo cute! They have huge alphabet chocolate which I might get one in the future for friends birthday. The macarons are delicious and so many flavors. You can only put macaron in the fridge for 5 days so I didn’t buy lots today. The mirror glaze mousse cake I got today is also delicious. The berry mousse fits so good with the chocolate base, it’s not too sweet that make you uncomfortable and you can taste some raspberry in it. Oh and the staff was really friendly. Will definitely come visit again.

The mountain oolong tea with tapioca is simply the best. Couldn’t get the same ratio done right in other Yo locations. You can taste the real oolong tea, and it makes it so delicious. The tapioca is also great.

When I came in I saw a woman receiving her order and then asking for a bag because it were multiple drinks, to which the only worker responded with "a bag!? You didn't pay for it" but still gives her one nonetheless. When it was my turn to order I accidentally made the mistake of saying "extra less sugar" instead of "less sugar", to which she replied with the nastiest look and proceeded to say "extra less sugar!? You mean less sugar or extra!!?" I said that I meant less sugar And I didn't know how to respond because that level of rudeness is just insane. When I received my order I was shocked because the topping she added was way too much for my order, making it more sugary. I assumed she did it on purpose

I used to get bubble tea every week from this place. Twice I forgot my loyalty card so I asked for a new card. This week I asked the girl to group the stamps together (I had one card with 4 stamps and then two other cards with 1 stamp). She refused and her excuse was “I’m going to get fired if I do”. 0 customer service

Absolutely amazing! This is the kind of tourist trap that aren’t trapping 🤣 you deserve the hype! Their chocolate cookie (their only cookie) is amazingggggg even when you queue (the queue always look so long, but they’re actually so fast!) you can smell the good stuff there! It is sooooo soft in the middle, with white chocolate melting inside, and crisp on the outsidee oh God i LOVE♥️ and please eat it while it’s hot cause it’s 20000 times betterr! But don’t worry they give a very detailed way to reheat your cookie at home 🤭👍🏻 (1 cookie = 3€, 6 cookie = 15€)

So, so, so delicious! Definitely worth trying and even worth the wait. I missed out on getting a cookie on my first visit because I arrived about an hour before closing and they had already sold out. So the second time, I went 30 minutes before opening. There were only 5 to 6 groups ahead of me, but by the time it opened, around 15 to 20 groups were in the queue. I was the second one to go in and bought a box of cookies for a friend and one for myself. The cookies were amazing. The white chocolate inside added a nice twist and gave the flavor more depth. Service was fast, and you can watch the whole baking process, which makes the experience even better. 🍪🍪

Phenomenal cookie. Stopped by on a Friday morning to finally try “the best cookie in Amsterdam.” I got there about ten minutes before opening, and there were already 10–15 people in line. While waiting, I watched the bakers through the window. White aprons, trays of dough, golden decors, chocolate everywhere, and the whole scene felt straight out of one of those candy-factory montages from old movies. Once inside, the process was simple. They sell only one kind of cookie, so you just choose how many (up to two dozen per person) and whether you want them in a tin or a paper box. Since I was flying them home, I went for the tin, which seemed to be what most people did. The staff were incredibly kind. One of them even handed me the last warm cookie from the tray for free. The cookie was simple but a perfect mix of dark chocolate batter with a core of white valrhona chocolate. It had that deep roasty aroma that lingered without bitterness, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’ll admit, I’ll always measure cookies against the ones my mom baked when I was a kid, but this was the closest I’ve come to that memory of a “perfect chocolate cookie.” They even include reheating instructions, and sure enough, once I pan-warmed them back home, they somehow got even better. My only regret was not getting the full two dozen.

My friends and I just happened to walk pass after shopping at Bijenkorf Amsterdam. The queue was long but we still joined in the queue. There’s only one item to purchase yet, it’s so popular. The cookie making at the workshop was an essential part for me while waiting in the queue. While my turn to purchase, the cashier worked efficiently to pack and done. Taste wise, it was good and I adored the texture if the cookies, it’s crunchy on the outside and little chewy on the inside. Not too sweet but that’s excellent for me.

Apparently, this is the must-try cookie shop in Amsterdam, so of course we had to check it out. We even skipped dessert at Bistro de la Mer just so we could try these famous cookies! When we arrived, the line was super long—but it moved really fast. It was actually fun watching the cookie makers through the window as they molded the dough by hand and pressed chunks of white chocolate into the center. Kind of like the see-through kitchen you see at Din Tai Fung, if you know what I mean. The cookies were warm, chewy, and definitely tasty. But honestly, they didn’t blow my mind. If I bake cookies at home and eat them fresh out of the oven, they’re also warm and chewy—so this didn’t feel too different. Still, it was fun to try once and worth the experience. Four cookies cost €12—not exactly cheap—but the packaging is cute, and the shop itself has a great vibe. Overall, glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Very good cookie spot! Has a line but it goes quickly. I got the brownie pistachio with white chocolate and the chocolate chip with caramel sea salt. It was only ~€7 for two and they were quite filling.

The cookie shop is quite small, but you really just go in and out anyway. As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most amazing cookie smell. We bought two of each flavor, and I’d definitely get them again whenever I’m in Amsterdam – the cookies were absolutely delicious!

My husband and I had a fun afternoon shopping and browsing at all the booths with local meats fish and pastries along with the sundries and clothing. There were many shops also behind the booth in the three or so blocks of market items. Make sure you get a freshly made stroopwaffle. They were the best I’ve had. I recommend this as a fun thing to see and do while visiting in Amsterdam.

I loved this market! Tons of food to try from a variety of cuisines, including traditional Dutch food of course. There are lots of cute jewelry and clothing shops as well but the food was a highlight for sure. I personally recommend the Takoyaki stand and the Dutch meatball stand

Albert, for those who enjoy different things such as food, spices, objects, etc., is a really nice program! We reserved about an hour and a half to walk through the market street and really enjoyed it. It is usually crowded, so make sure your belongings are well kept — and have fun!

A long market street filled with stalls. A lot of them I think belonging to the shop behind it on either side of the street. Lots of different street food to be had from a wide variety of cultures. Also several vendors who make fresh stroopwafels. Try one if you haven’t before. They’re much better than the ready made packaged kind. I walked through on a Saturday afternoon and the street was packed. A fun experience. I just wish I was hungrier at the time as there was a lot of food to try.

Loved it! Perfect blend between tourist and local spot. Food, shops, atmosphere all great. For vegan food the spring rolls were amazing! And I saw plenty of vegan falafel options around and gyros. I had seconds of these spring rolls super fresh! And bunsbar was the main attraction, phenomenal! I had the seitan and jackfruit bao bun which was delicious. Wish there was some vegan desserts tho! The waffles were yummy!

I always love markets and this one is absolutely worth to visit! It is so conveniently located near De Pijp station and bustling with stalls selling all kind of goods from Dutch traditional foods and souvenirs, tasty sandwiches, etc.

I really enjoyed the market – walking around and finding small, charming shops was so much fun. I bought dumplings, cheese, and waffles, and browsed stalls with accessories, handbags, and shirts. Such a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

I don't understand how people think this is a cozy place, it's not! It's inhospitable without a character, very unwelcoming. The chairs are very uncomfortable, it's like asking you to leave asap. The only thing they welcome you to do is to give them the tip 😆 The coffee was ok but the slice of cake was horribly dry and I had to throw it away. They keep the cakes outside in this small window. There is no service, you even have to put your dirty cup inside the buckets.

Had such a lovely experience during my visit to Amsterdam while I was traveling from the US. The coffee is delicious! I think it was one of the best flat whites I have ever had. To make things ever better, the baristas were so friendly and patiently explained everything. I went in twice because I enjoyed it so much. The coffee literally tastes like cherries! When I went in- they had different espresso offerings for each day so it was so fun to compare the two flat whites I had. I also got their loaves while I was there. Very moist and delicate. This is probably a coffee shop I will miss dearly

Got an iced hojicha on the last day they do iced drinks (27 September). It was good and my first time trying hojicha (tastes like matcha a red bean). But after that date they only do hot which is quite disappointing. The vegan loaves are good. They have a lot of coffee selection as well but no seating and set up of cafe is quite weird but staff is extremely kind.

We loved this place! I had the white chocolate matcha and my partner had a cappuccino, both were amazing. What really stood out was the atmosphere; it felt like we were part of the café rather than just visitors. The space is completely open with no separation between the staff area and where customers sit, it’s like you’re behind the counter with them. That setup, combined with the friendly team and the cool, laid-back vibe, makes it such a special spot. Definitely one of our favorite coffee stops in Amsterdam!

Rum baba is my neighbourhood coffee shop. I really enjoy this place for a quick to go coffee, they make fantastic flat whites, and they really know their coffee. There is very limited seating, so I have never sat inside and there is other places on the street that provide better and more affordable pasteries so I really see this as a take away coffee spot with some of the best coffee in the city. I have however had mixed results with their beans, I bought a bag of one of their diamond blends and it tasted very chemically flavoured, I couldn't explain it but it was very expensive and I had to throw away most the bag even after serving my friends some. It smelt very strong of almost candy I am not sure what it was. But all of their yellow bag espresso beans are fantastic.

This place really cares about their coffee. Extremely high quality espresso, own roasted beans. Reccomend trying a few different beans and taking some home. This is NOT a brunch restaurant masquerading as a coffee shop, it is somewhere you come for something properly special.

I bought yesterday a box of 6 cinnamon roll, it looked delicious but unfortunately they all tasted the same. It's very very sweet, full of sugar in the roll and the icing. Even my young daughter that loves sweets couldn't finish half a cinnamon roll. Really disappointing.. 😔

So delicious! Couldn’t believe they were vegan! They are soft but not airy- which makes them so filling and delicious, unlike Cinnabon or American cinnamon rolls I’ve had, that just felt like you ate air a second after, which made it super unsatisfying even while eating, but not like that with these! Some flavors we loved more and some less, but definitely would come again. I loved the original one the best!!

Every now and then I get surprised by a vegan bakery. I've never had a good vegan cinnamon roll before. But leave it to the wonderful bakers at Have a Roll to change my mind. This was a great experience and I loved the rolls we had. The apple pie topping was so unique and delicious. I highly recommend you stop here if you're in Amsterdam and grab a delicious Cinnamon Roll!

Fantastic cinnamon buns, probably the best in Amsterdam out of all cinnamon rolls i tried. They made it fresh, and nothing can exceed the taste of freshly baked bun in a winter rainy day. Go with the original roll, it’s already so good, if you want something different, I would recommend pistachio or pecan mixed. Besides that i have to give them a credit for a really nice, welcoming service and excellent store design.

Highly recommended! They have multiple choices of cinnamon roll and it tastes really good. Coffee is also good which is an important one next to this dessert. Place is small but you can also enjoy outside if the weather is nice. I got the one with cafe cream and liked it!

wow this is a godsend for those who don't use sugar, lactose and gluten! it's incredibly tasty and hypoallergenic. i tried the passion fruit cake and the chocolate cake and the cookies. they were all delicious! the next day my boyfriend went and bought 3 boxes of cakes and 4 cookies 😁

Didn’t realise this was a sugar free gluten free place before i read other reviews. But for me, I tried the matcha latte cake bite and it didn’t really taste like matcha and I don’t think it was worth it, probably other flavours live up to the name. On the other hand, the iced matcha latte was very good but could be in a bigger cup. The banana bread was ok but a bit too dry

Sue Bites Bar, located at the top end of Elandsgracht, offers a great selection of sugar-free produce. Everything is gluten-free, lactose-tee and vegan, much of which is available in raw variations. There's a small upstairs patisserie selling a great variety of banana bread, bars, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, energy balls, granola, tiramisu, truffles, and other delicacies, created to satisfy the whims of the most ardent sweet tooth, in a healthy and responsible manner. The best way to sample what's on offer is to try one of Sue Bites Bar's letterbox size gift boxes, crammed with bite-sized delicacies. The shop supplies a number of the city's upmarket coffee outlets, restaurants, and delicatessens.

Small cafe with two outside tables, no toilet is available. Can buy vegan sweets without refined sugar (they use coconut sugar, dates), some sweets are raw. Most of all liked mars and raspberry cheesecake. Tiramisu was good but it is not classic tiramisu.

The bakery is pretty neat and clean. The breads taste good. But one less star as I felt I got a bit of old bread. Potentially one off, but will give it another shot. It’s right next to my gym hence very convenient. The best part is that it smells very good inside.

Great bakkery (a bit busy sometimes, but it is time well spent), we regularly bike through half the city for the bisteeya!

Very tasty, not overly sweet, but a little overpriced. The portions are really small, however, there is a big choice of sweets, some with pistachios, some with walnuts. I found some of the candies indeed a little bit dry, maybe they are not so popular so they spend too much time on the display. Pistachio nests were super good 🫶

Very good sweets, same quality as in turkey! Price is much higher, obviously, but okay for the centre of Amsterdam. They also participate in TooGoodToGo and give generous bags where you can try everything. You can also have matcha and coffee and here, but I didn’t have a chance to try them. Service is kind.

The only downside in my opinion is the location. Difficult to get there by car as it is downtown Planning to go there next time by bus or park somewhere far and walk to the place

The vibe is amazing and the flavors of the ice cream are very tasty. The coconut latte is one of my favorites. I sat and ate a whole container and to my surprise it was light and filling and I wasn’t stuffed.

Chicken & waffles ice cream?! Yes please, and the creamiest I've ever had in the Netherlands. Hot Honey ice cream melts in your mouth and really feels like warm honey on your tongue. Cones or bowls, and vegan options. It's on the more expensive side, but that's because this is specialty ice cream and with so much more flavor than normal ijs. (Also available: Froze with wine + ijs cooler alcoholic drink). Excellent ijscafe

I never tasted anything like this ice cream before. These flavors… my favorites are the Frozé and the Sage Cookie Dough. But the Chili Mango vegan option was also very exciting. And the shop itself, such a relaxed vibe. They have seating and a menu, coffee and freshly made pastries so it’s not just over the counter ice cream. The people are really nice and welcoming. We spent quite some time relaxing there. Will definitely come back.

Best ice cream place in neighborhood or in town. It’s usually very very busy.Staffs are really nice and very nice ambiance We just love it ❤️

Tried red velvet and chocolate-pistachio pastry. Red velvet is really nice. Although bit dry around the corner but over a nice one. Chocolate-pistachio taste more like chocolate brownie. Very little taste of pistachio but overall good pastries. The staff is very friendly.

Ice cream and homemade desserts. They also have sorbets and cakes. The ice creams are delicious but the flavors in general are very generic. We also ordered a tiramisu to share, it is alcohol free and with a spectacular texture. The staff is friendly and fast.

Such a gem! The place is very cute and cosy. Prices are very fair. The coffee also was good. But best of all was the cake oh mijn god never had a cake with chocolate and pistacchio as good as here. I had to ask the name of the girl making the cakes because she’s an absolute master: thank you Sacha 🙏🏻 cake boss for all intents! They were also very kind and smiling, was a pleasure to come here!

My god, the tiramisu. Very good quality tiramisu. Bought the 4 person one, and it is verrrry reasonably priced for the quality, taste, and packaging etc. ♡

The best ice cream in the Netherlands so far! Big portions and good prices. They have a big variety of dairy ice cream as well as sorbet ice cream. The neighborhood is pleasant and calm.

Delicious Argentinian ice cream shop! They also have a variety of Argentinian products such as alfajores de maicena and some really good empanadas. They have “dulce de leche granizado” ice cream, one of the most popular flavors in Argentina. Staff is very friendly and prices are affordable. I will definitely come back for more!

Tiny take out ice parlour. I had a scoop of Melon ice cream. Simply the worst flavour i ever tasted.

Rude lady behind the counter. While I appreciated that she was opened past the closing time she gave us so much attitude. It was my moms first time tasting gelato and The lady was super stingy with letting my mom have a third tasting. There were three of us and we bought three cups. I had to argue with her for a third taste as my mom wanted to get a fourth cup for my dad. Then she asked rudely why my dad wasn’t there. 🙄My dad had surgery on his leg because of Polio!!! From another time, would not recommend the Pistachio flavor.
