Most delicious cranberry scone I have ever had! Warm, moist, and not too sweet. So glad I stopped in here for breakfast. Definitely will be coming back as soon as possible! Also fantastic baguette. Strongly recommend Alexandra's Bread to anyone!
Madeline T — Google review
Everything is delicious! My favorites are the cranberry scones and garlic bread but everything they make is wonderful! It is a pleasure to see Alexander and John, too. We are lucky to have them on Cape Ann!
Beth D — Google review
Alexandra’s Bread makes the best whole wheat bread I have ever tasted, and I have done my share of sampling all over New England and beyond. The owners are warm, lovely, friendly people who run a high quality bakery. Although I am particularly partial to their whole wheat bread, all of their products (scones, cookies, olive bread, brownies, etc. etc.) are excellent and sold at a very reasonable price.
Jane G — Google review
Bakeries are a weakness of mine. You could smell the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread as you approached the store. We got there at 9 am and many of my favorites were almost sold out! Cranberry scones to die for, wonderful baguettes and crusty little cobbles. Heads up! The store front looks like a gift shop so you might walk right by. Just follow your nose.
R B — Google review
Among the best bread I have ever had! Call ahead, a day before to reserve your bread. Ideal for long-term residents but not so much those just passing through. If they delivered across the country their bread would always be my first and only choice.
Joseph D — Google review
They are a wonderful couple making sour dough bread by hand. They slow raise their dough like the old fashion way and let it ferment slowly. It’s so delicious they run out quickly So put your order in a few days ahead❤️💜👍🏼😃🍞🥖

I love to come to Alexandra‘s bread. I come early to get them nice and warm fresh out of the oven. Of course they’re baking all morning, so really it’s just timing. I love to get my grandchildren cookies. It’s a family routine now and when my grandchildren are with mom and dad. I send them in the mail For all to enjoy. I especially like the oatmeal raisin cookies just like My mother used to make when I was a kid. Very nice people and also they have nice things to buy gifts and some used items which are wonderful. I got a beautiful rug that will look beautiful gorgeous in my granddaughters room. They have more than just spread. The scones have made many of my ladies very happy for I am a CNA. So wonderful with tea and crumpets for a morning ritual. Thank you, Alexander’s bread happy to support a small business. also, when you walk in there, the smells are incredible. A fresh baked goods made with love. It’s right across from animal crackers on Main Street right after the liquor store.
Kim M — Google review
Alexandra & John are the loveliest, sweetest people I have ever met. John’s breads are delicious & Alexandra’s baked goods are out of this world! I love their oatmeal cookies! They’re better than my own! lol!

Bakery
Nestled in the charming town of Gloucester, MA, Cake Ann is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This cozy spot not only serves an array of mouthwatering treats but also creates a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying your sweet indulgences on-site. For those who prefer to savor their desserts at home or are on the go, Cake Ann offers convenient curbside pickup.
ur experience with Cake Anne in Gloucester, MA, was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we discussed our vision, Inga and her team were attentive, creative, and dedicated to making our cake a true masterpiece. For our special event, we chose a 2-tier cutting cake that was nothing short of spectacular. The peacock teal fondant with baroque-style gold detailing made it a stunning centerpiece that wowed our guests. The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful, with every bite offering a burst of fresh, balanced flavors. We also had a 10" "sheet" cake for the larger event, which was equally impressive, rich, moist, and incredibly decadent. What truly set Cake Anne apart was their personalized approach. They invited us for an in-person cake tasting, tailored to our preferences, making it a special experience. They even created a custom flavor for us and provided a video outlining design decisions, ensuring every detail was perfect. Many other places offered preset tasting boxes or had us take cake home, which didn't feel special. Cake Anne made sure the tasting was memorable and even matched the cake color to our teal swatch. We can't thank Inga and her team enough for their hard work and dedication. If you're looking for a cake that combines beauty, flavor, and a personal touch, Cake Anne is the way to go. Highly recommended!
Jackie — Google review
We used Cake Ann for our wedding cake and cupcakes, and we couldn’t have been happier! We wanted something small but elegant for our cake, and something different for our guests, and Inga delivered perfectly. She was professional, responsive, and so talented. The designs were exactly what we envisioned, beautifully detailed, and matched our wedding theme perfectly. We would highly recommend Cake Ann to anyone looking for stunning and delicious wedding treats!
Abigail T — Google review
Sour cherry tart was the offering of the day so I ordered one. To my surprise I received something I couldn’t identify (due to no flavor). I guessed by the color it was blueberry that I received. It had no flavor at all. I tried to get a sour cherry, but was told they didn’t have any, so I changed my order to apple. It also had ZERO flavor. I don’t recommend the tarts here. It also seemed like it was days old, as it was soft, limp and had no flavor. My hubby got a bun which he said was just OK. It’s too bad! They have a great location and the inside is lovely, with a cozy fireplace seating area. But something is missing. If I were the owners I’d taste the food prior to offering it for sale. Even the chef had trouble discerning that the tart I was given was in fact blueberry. 😕
Jan A — Google review
Incredible cake and absolutely loved working with Amanda! We had 3 different flavors: 1 that was a heart-shaped cake and 2 that were sheet cakes. All of our cake went and our guests are still talking about them. We can't wait to go back to Cake Ann for all of our future event cakes!
Lianna D — Google review
We went with Cake Ann for our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were AMAZING! I sent them a picture on Pinterest for my inspo for our cake and they made it perfect! It looked exactly like it, I was so impressed. It also tasted so good! We didn’t have any leftover cupcakes at the wedding because everyone loved them so much, they even got seconds! If you want delicious cake for a great price I’d go to Cake Ann!
Mekella B — Google review
Thrilled with our cake for my dad’s 70th birthday!! We got the Chocolate salted caramel cake and it was delicious!! Very happy with the design. Excellent customer service.

I only got coffe because the displays made everything ampear to be old stale and dry. Not very appetizing looking
Ides B — Google review
So easy to work with trying to figure out what was available for the accommodations I needed. Both cakes were absolutely amazing and had no right to be that good in my mind for something that was both gluten and dairy free. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Cake Ann again. Thank you so much!

The family-owned establishment has been providing fresh baked breads to supermarkets across Cape Ann for three generations. Their menu features a variety of traditional and unique sandwiches, such as the St. Joseph sandwich and the North Ender with balsamic vinegar.
What a cool place right in Gloucester. We had a roast beef sandwich and a bowl of chicken risotto. Then an apple turnover and canoli for dessert. Sat at the table on the sidewalk listening to Italian Opera. It was wonderful.
Eric S — Google review
What an amazing real deal Italian bakery and sandwich shop. Lots of spectacular specialty Italian items too. Olives, olive oil, pasta, sauce, a nice frozen meal section. And the best bakery with all sorts of Italian goodies. Pizza and some spectacular sandwiches. Family owned for many many years. Give them a try, you will be happy you did!
Chiara C — Google review
Subs and sandwiches are incredible… Stopped there to grab some lunch with my family on 8/25. Headed over to Stage Fort Park where we found a nice picnic table to eat. Their Steak Bomb Sandwich was so delicious I wanted to go back and grab another for the following day. We can’t wait to return next year.
Mike B — Google review
Delicious subs, meats, cheeses, and groceries! Highly recommend the St. Joseph sub!
Norman R — Google review
This place is great. The sfogliatella (lobster tails) & almond cookies are the best. A great atmosphere & staff.
Holly M — Google review
This place is legit. Best sandwiches and bread I've had in a while. Love the throw back vibes you can tell they have been making these awesome sandwiches for decades. Amazing experience leaning against the brick wall in perfect summer weather with a delicious sandwich with all the fixings in hand. A must stop on travels.
Beck B — Google review
Hands down THE best sandwich spot on the north shore! I’ve been enjoying Virgilio's since I was a kid. Recently I was in town visiting family and I stopped in to see if my memories of those savory sandwiches were accurate or distorted by childhood rosy retrospection. After a careful tasting with my adult tastebuds I can confirm, they are actually THAT good! I highly recommend the chicken Saint Joseph on a roll (add pickles for an extra kick!) The bread makes the sandwich.
Rachel L — Google review
Bread and sandwiches always perfect, beyond perfect. Last few times the lobster tails have been a little soggy. Humidity factor maybe, and the piece of tiramisu was frozen in the middle. I'm hoping it wasn't store bought. Again this has only happened once lately. Cant recommend sandwiches enough

Why are you not already eating there! The apple Pie pancakes were the best thing EVER! The green giant omelet was amazing with completely fresh ingredients! We are visitors from the south, and were impressed they put biscuits and gravy on the menu. It did not disappoint! These ladies need to make this a chain and head down to Memphis! RUN to get this breakfast!

My family eats here all the time, but this is my first time coming and I was blown away by the positive and sweet customer service, the cozy interior, and the quality of the food. The owner, Katie, was such a sweetheart. There are specials you can choose from as well as a curated menu with breakfast classics that everyone loves. I absolutely loved my time here, and I can’t wait to come back!

I had the Lingucia scramble but asked for the over easy eggs instead of scrambled and I got the pistachio homemade bread. The lingucia was nice and crispy. The pistachio bread stole the show! It was so moist and hearthy, I would eat the whole loaf! The place is small and quiet with rustic live edge tables and the lady who was working was very friendly. Service was quick even though she was the only waitress on a Sunday morning !

My first time here and right when I walked in it was a homey feeling. The waitress and their was on a first name bases with her customers. And she was very nice to me. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious. I love the homey vibes. I would recommend.

Everything from the sandwiches, to the soups, to the salads I have ordered have all been great. Would highly recommend.
Becca H — Google review
This is mainly a takeaway place, with an enormous selection of different sandwiches, wraps and salads - I am sure everyone will find something enjoyable. Quality and quantity of the food is very good and the prices are more then reasonable. We had a cold salmon sandwich and a hot barbecue chicken wrap and both tasted delicious.
Erwin W — Google review
Ordered a caprese sandwich. It only has about 4 ingredients - bread, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil, and mozzerella. The bread had so much olive oil that it was greasy. It was insane. The sandwich didn't have any vinegar. The mozzerella only covered a small section of the middle of the sandwich, the first and last bites have none because they only give you a measly piece. There was genuinely about 2 pieces of fresh basil. It was as though they ran out of ingredients to make the sandwich. I was really disappointed.
Haley N — Google review
Food here was great. Staff was kind. Place was clean. No grief when asking to use the bathroom (which is apparently a thing in the area) Panini was huge and the price was very fair. I'm glad I randomly stopped here and I would definitely go back again if I'm in the area.
Random S — Google review
I really wanted to like the food at Bishco. Their menu is great and their staff, very kind, but it was a let down. We ordered the artichoke melt and the breaded eggplant and mushroom melt. Both are really large sandwiches but the eggplant sandwich was grilled some more than the artichoke one. Coming to the flavors - the mushroom and eggplant sandwich was bland. It could have done with more flavor. So, a spread or condiment inside the sandwich (like tomato passata or pesto for an instance) could have elevated the sandwich. The artichoke sandwich did have some flavor to it thanks to the olive spread but everything together just didn't work for me (although it was better than the other sandwich). I thought it was a bit too sour, and something like caramelized onions or garlic may have made a difference in how it tasted. However, my biggest suggestion to Bishco would be for them to rethink the cheese they are using in the melt. The one in our sandwiches was quite bland but I know that goat cheese/cheddar would have really turned things around for them. Ultimately, great potential and I want to see them doing well.

workers are sweet food is delicious but when calling in for takeouts/ delivery they often put you on hold which is no problem at all but then they forget about you and hang up i was recently on hold for 10 minutes before they just hung up on me and i had to call again, this has happened more times then i can count and i hope they sort it out soon.
Isabella M — Google review
ALWAYS perfection! The salads are amazing (see pic which doesn’t do it justice as I had already eaten some of it😋). They accommodate all substitutions and additions. The sandwiches are the best in town. The staff are all so friendly, and welcoming- they go above and beyond the normal customer service you’ll experience elsewhere! Rebecca is the best! ❤️

Don't get me wrong great place with a variety of cups and cones. My 3 star review reflects a butterscotch sundae I purchased. This thing had about a gallon of butterscotch. The whole cup was filled about half way with butterscotch. It was way too much. Other than that it was great little spot to get away and enjoy some ice cream

Extremely delicious lobster rolls! Had a lot more meat than I expected, the roll was even delicious. Come on Lobster Roll Tuesday it's a steal! We also had a slice of pizza- the sauce was on the sweeter side but it was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely come back and will recommend! We did have to get an ice cream as well- there are a lot of yummy flavors.

The chocolates here are really good! It was also nice and see someone making chocolates. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pecan and cashew turtles are really great, and I recommend the butter crunch. The only downside is that chocolates are kind of expensive these days.

Quality and service both unmatched. My second visit to the shop. I pre-ordered a dozen small boxes for my staff and they were done perfectly, quickly, beautifully. Brought my mom when I picked them up,and Freyja was lovely and did a great job helping Mom choose what to get. Can't recommend Turtle Alley strongly enough.

Amy & Chris have been great over the phone helping me make sure a caramel apple was in stock before I came in - they're super friendly and helpful and put one aside for me. The Chocolatier is very talented at making the caramel, and my plain caramel apple was AMAZING. Perfect Granny Smith Apple and thick yummy caramel - see my half eaten photo lol. The friendly staff provides quick service and helpful recommendations, making the visit even more enjoyable. Went to Holy Cow in Gloucester after a day at Pebble Beach. Emily was working the window and handled a very busy line on her own AND I watched her make the waffle cone from scratch! I had a small Ritzy AF/Muddy Buddy and my partner had the Pistachio Baklava. Both were excellent. Any time we are in the North Shore we always stop at Holy Cow. Thanks for being awesome and please bring back the Honey Coma flavor!!!

Delicious! Can see why it won awards. The vanilla is so clean and rich. The chocolate muddy buddy was insanely good. The staff is clearly well trained - I told Vanessa I have a gluten allergy and she got my scoops from a fresh container with clean scoops without me having to ask! Great ice cream and excellent service!
Ilana E — Google review
I had seen the outstanding reviews for Holy Cow Ice Cream Cafe, so my husband and I decided to go for the first time on LaborDayweekend. We were able to find free parking on the street. There was a line out the door. We waited in line for 20 to 30 minutes. When we finally made it to the counter, we realized that there was only one person working. He did an amazing job of being friendly with the customers despite being consistently busy for a long time. Apparently this shop has won many awards for their homemade ice cream and have even created some new flavors. Unfortunately they ran out of the flavor I wanted, but it was easy to find another great one. We each got a small size in a cup which probably was equal to 1 cup. We were both very pleased! The flavor and creamy texture was so satisfyingly delicious! I ended up liking them on FB and learned they change their flavors seasonly! If you're in the Rockport, MA area, I highly recommend checking them out! t was our first time there

Not to be dramatic but this is literally the best ice cream I’ve ever had. We tried the Ooey Gooey Buttercake which is was my FAVORITE, the cinnamon churro, cereal milk, blueberry something, & a few others because we went every night of our weekend getaway. Seriously the best ice cream around. The flavors are so unique & delicious. 10/10!!!!

Delicious ice cream! Definitely a stand out spot with great customer service by Chiara and Althea. Very friendly, helpful to make a choice of ice cream, and overall great experience. Store was nice and clean as well! Wonderful treat!

Holy Cow is such astonishing ice cream, it is actually a compelling reason to live in Gloucester, along with its natural beauty and rich culture and history, yada yada yada. Every flavor is exceptional, including the ones that might sound gross at first glance, and even including the vegan flavors. I’m not vegan, but those are so delicious, I just order them for their own sake, not because they’re made with coconut milk. The servers are all perfect. They are warm and patient, even with complicated orders. Sophia, for example. Someone over there is very good hiring people. My hot tip is to get the pint pass. I think I’ve gone through 10 of them at this point. It’s a significant savings. Also, keep an eye on your halos. Those add up!

They serve fresh waffles, and the warm, sweet aroma fills the entire place! I tried the pistachio baklava ice cream, and it was incredible — no trace of that awful artificial pistachio flavor you find so often in the U.S. This one had a rich, authentic pistachio taste, with real pistachio pieces mixed in. I’ll definitely be getting it again!

We stumbled upon this American gem after a late summer trip to Gloucester. My whole party enjoyed the ice cream. I enjoyed it so much that I helped my self to an additional serving! Flavors are fantastic! Best I ever had! They shared with me that a location has opened up in Burlington, MA too, much closer for us in Metro West.

Whether you're looking for a quick dessert to go or want to relax in a cozy atmosphere, this bakery has you covered with both dine-in and takeaway options. They also offer delivery services if you prefer enjoying their treats at home. The bakery is under new ownership and has received positive feedback for its delicious offerings, including sliced bread, subs, and pizza.
Went in with plans for a ham and cheese and the Muffuletta Sandwich caught my eye. It looked so beautiful I had to have it. It wasn't just as tasty as it looks... It was AMAZING! Everything here is awesome but I encourage you to try it next trip. Better yet, head there specifically for it. Look at that masterpiece!

What a great place for a quick bite! Sclafani's is a family business, and you feel it as soon as you walk in. It doesn't matter if you're local, or like me...visiting from 1200 miles away. They make you feel like part of their family! Will definitely be back for more!

This is easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life! The bread is fresh and the ingredients are a perfect combination. The pastries here are delicious too! You have to visit this family owned and operated deli/bakery if you’re in the area.
Shivani P — Google review
Nice place overall, but sandwiches weren’t that great. Chicken one was a bit dry and plain. The one with Mozzarella was decent, nothing special. Crab meat sub was pretty good, but too much mayo. And no rest room, btw
Ivan M — Google review
We had a catering mishap with another restaurant for our baby shower. We called Scalfani's 45 minutes before they closed and Rob said he would take care of us. They did, and it was an amazing spread that they put together. Thank you for saving the day and for the great food.

The best cannolis, filled fresh. Semolina bread that is so so so good (especially the dinner rolls)! A very friendly staff, they remember their regulars and provide excellent service. Beautiful family business.
Josephine R — Google review
Hands down best meatball sub that I’ve found in the north shore area. Rob is an absolute dawg in the kitchen and puts on a masterclass in sandwich making every day. I wish more sub shops around here had even a 1/4 of the passion for food as this place does.

Stopped by to get a tuna salad sandwich before going to Good Harbor beach (only 8 mins away). It was soooo good! The bread was amazing, and they put a generous amount of tuna salad, it’s overflowing (and so tasty!!). Love it - 10/10. Will definitely come back!

Restaurant
Talise offers a unique dining experience with a small, daily-changing menu that features fresh local ingredients. The restaurant is housed in a charming shingled shack on the Annisquam River, providing stunning sunset views and casual elegance. Guests rave about the generous portions of seafood-centered dishes like crab bucatini and halibut with parsnip puree. The farm-to-table concept and daily menu changes add an exciting twist to the dining experience.
My wife and I had an amazing experience here this past Saturday night. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a quaint, charming part of Gloucester that offers beautiful ocean/harbor views and the dining experience matches the atmosphere perfectly. Limited menu, but the food was outstanding top to bottom. We sat at the bar and the bartender Ariel provided some of the best service we’ve had in recent memory. She was very kind, genuine and hospitable and her knowledge of the menu and ability to describe each dish as well as the wines was very impressive. She knew every detail top to bottom. I also want to give a shout out to the hostess (or whoever manages the phone). I called last minute around 5 PM to see if they had any openings which they didn’t at the time, but she called me back around 7 to give me a heads up that a table would be opening up in about 30 minutes, so we hopped in the car and headed straight there. I thought this was just overall a really kind and thoughtful gesture. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience here and we will 100% be coming back as soon as possible! 10/10. Highly recommend.
Neil A — Google review
Great restaurant with a gorgeous view of the Annisquam river. Fabulous service but limited menu focused on tuna and other seafood. We had seared scallops and roasted duck breast as entrees and topped it off with delicious tiramusu. The menu is somewhat eclectic and pricey, but the location charm compensates for that!
Gautam R — Google review
A waterside gem. Excellent service. Delicious shortlist of dishes and drinks. Joined the waitlist two days out and was given a table day-of planned visit.
Michael S — Google review
Truly a fantastic restaurant that we are very fortunate to have in New England. Talise is everything we could hope for: family owned, supports the community, celebrates our fisherman and the seasons, and most importantly- continuously pushes out Michelin quality food that never gets old. Wish them nothing but the best and hope they can be a part of our community for a long time and an institution you just want to root for.
Peter V — Google review
We can walk to this restaurant. We made a reservation and they did not have it in their "system". They sonehow found a table in the outside area with blankets available...ok we are with another couple..lets accept that. No apology offered. Entrees ordered...one was delivered wrong ...chicken instead of halibut...but our friend said ok. he will take it. I asked if the clam sauce was white or red...white..but it was not ...it was a red bisque with lots of broth left over and few clams. We still had a good time but for what Talise pretends to be they need to do better. We have more reliable options with better value in Gloucester.
Theodore R — Google review
Was able to get a reservation sort of last minute for my birthday and I’m so glad I was able to! This was probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I love how everything is farm to table and the menu changes daily, such a fun twist. I got the bucatini with lobster and it was unreal, with such a generous portion of fresh lobster. Yes, it is a little pricey but it’s not overpriced for the quality of food & amount that you’re getting. My only slight complaint is that it was a little dark at night and my mom couldn’t see that well, but that didn’t take away from the amazing dining experience we had. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in Gloucester!
Salvatore S — Google review
It's a fancy new place, very expensive. The salad was good, but too pricey for what it was. The service was great, the view is nice, maybe even nicer at night. It is in a neighborhood though, so I cannot see anyone just discovering that place - it's pretty out of the way. I didn't know what half of the menu was, so definitely a gourmet-like place. The dessert menu looked good and they have a nice wine selection.
Vali C — Google review
Snagged a reservation on opening day and was blown away! My mom and I were so impressed by the seafood centered plates, all very well portioned in my honest opinion. Two entrees & an app (and dessert!) was perfect for two. Crab bucatini had a ton of crab, not greasy at all. Halibut had an amazing parsnip purée that balanced the fish. Friendly service and location made it feel really special, away from the busy downtown areas. Do be aware that parking can get tricky; definitely carpool when you can. Since the menu changes frequently, just go knowing that there will be something you will LOVE on the Talise menu.

Excellent ice cream - very creamy. From Richardson's one of the best ice cream places in MA. Many great flavors - we had black raspberry and peppermint stick. Busy weekend and near Good Harbor Beach so out of some flavors. Getting ice cream after dinner a tradition in New England. Highly recommend.

Ummmm $6.00 for a small soft serve?? A dairy queen you can get a large for less money. Talk about robbing tourist in the summer.AND the girl who was in the window handing us the soft served dropped the whole cone and then said maybe our soft serve is too soft I'll put less almost half less on all your cones (3 people) but still charge you six dollars. Tourist trap to the maxxx

Castaways Vintage Cafe is a laid-back spot with a tropical vacation vibe, offering the best swag on the Northshore. It's popular among kids and offers delicious acai bowls and smoothies that can be turned into bowls. The cafe also serves pastries, muffins, and customizable coffee options. In addition to food and drinks, Castaways offers unique repurposed clothing for environmentally conscious shoppers. While prices may be on the higher side, the food and coffee are of great quality.
Such a nice place! While we were strolling through town around noon it was quite hot so we were really glad we found this little oasis where we could find some shade and enjoy an iced coffee. I also really loved the interior design.
Dschulie — Google review
this is the definition of a hidden gem. This cafe is snuggled in between old buildings and is tucked at the very back of a vintage store. There’s two entrances to this cafe but both are not handicap accessible. It’s surf shop themed and offers creative latte flavors for the different seasons. I got the toasted banana latte with almond milk and my boyfriend got the black raspberry mocha. He’s a big mocha fan and liked the mocha aspect of his drink, but wasn’t a huge fan of the raspberry. I however, LOVED my banana latte. I’m a huge fan of all things banana and was pleasantly impressed with this drink. The sweaters and clothes they have for sale are so dangerously tempting to buy! Of course I couldn’t leave this place without a sweatshirt which I can’t wait to wear throughout the year. I’d rate them a 10/10 on vibes and coffee! Such a cute place with cute atmosphere. It’s worth the stop if you’re in the area.

They have a lot of outdoor patio seating, unfortunately it was raining and we couldn’t enjoy it. We got the avocado toast and the açaí bowl. Both were really delicious. I got the blueberry coffee and wished i could’ve gone back and asked for another pump of blueberry though.

Ice Cream Gallery is a popular dessert spot located in a charming area, perfect for enjoying ice cream while strolling through galleries or admiring the harbor. The store offers convenient takeaway options for those on the go. While the selection is small and prices are higher compared to other local shops, the ice cream is delicious and sourced from Richardson's. The staff is described as helpful and kind, making it a great place to indulge in some tasty frozen treats.
Best place for ice cream in Rocky Neck on a hot day...alas after Labor Day just open Saturdays and Sundays. Lots of cool flavours scooped up by a cheerful blue-eyed blonde. A few tables outside with a harbour view. Parking can be dicey.
Paul L — Google review
Had a good selection of flavors. Perfect stop while wandering the galleries on the neck.
Aileen T — Google review
Very cute, tiny place (now you just stand at the window vs going inside). Ice cream is very good (I think it’s from Richardson’s like so many places in the area) but the prices are high given the portion size. Other places have huge servings (actually too big) but charge less.
Tedd S — Google review
This place is adorable, and beautifully situated to enjoy ice cream on your gallery stroll, or while watching the harbor, but the selection is small, portions are tiny, and prices are almost 20% higher than other local shops selling the same ice cream. On the other hand, those other shops aren't snuggled into to the galleries and studios of the Neck. And the teenage staff is helpful and kind.

Jan H — Google review
I love Source Bakery! I do not consume coffee but I have heard only great things about it from my friends who do. What I love are their savory pastries/tarts. I have tried their pumpkin and goat cheese tart, mini pizza, spinach and feta triangles, and this dill cream cheese + pickled onion pastry and they were all absolutely scrumptious. They all use a flaky buttery pastry and their toppings are well-thought. I would highly recommend Source to anyone visiting Gloucester and looking for a quick bite.
Bhakti C — Google review
This unique local bakery serves an interesting seasonal cafe menu served in a cozy atmosphere retrofitted from, but maintaing much of the 60's character of, an old New England office building. Must try if visiting Gloucester.

Source is a fantastic bakery! I ordered a strawberry cheesecake for a birthday and it was beautiful and delicious! I also went a week ago with my sister and ordered the most delicious breakfast sandwich with egg, cheddar cheese, arugula and bacon on a cheddar onion biscuit. The staff is friendly and efficient! The owner Julie took the time to chat for a few minutes to my daughter and take a picture with her as the owners sister was my child’s teacher at the time.
Julie P — Google review
I love this place! It’s the perfect combination of cafe and hang out space with tables and comfy chairs, bar stools. And the food and staff are amazing. From pastries, muffins, quiche , coffee and teas. But the biscuits are insane! So fluffy and addictive ! Today I had the sweet potato, caramelized onion quiche. Treat yourself! You won’t be disappointed.
Gail C — Google review
Just next to the Main Street corner, source offers and wide assortment of fresh baked and breakfast goods backed up by what has to be the best coffee in the region. BUSY but worth any wait. Clearly a town standard with knowledgable staff and dedicated following. Source is to bakery what Turtle Alley is to chocolate. Before you know it, you've spent more than you wanted but, got more than you expected. We'll be back.
George T — Google review
Do you enjoy buttery pastry and jam? Would you like a sky-high cheddar biscuit, moist on the inside with a sweet little crunch on the outside? Could you use a crumble? Or a sea-salt-sprinkled chocolate chip cookie? We tasted love, butter, and fresh local ingredients in every bite of every treat from Source. If you have ever heard of Gloucester, you are close enough to plan a trip just for the baked goods. We did. We bought a box of goodies before hitting the beach, and we left the beach in time to buy more before heading home. Not beach-bound? The table space is cheerful and immaculate. So jealous of the Gloucester locals! I am still dreaming of the hand-pies.

Great little lunch spot, either for a quiet lunch solo or to grab a bunch of sandwiches before heading out on the boat. I haven't written a review in years. As someone who has worked in the service industry for 25 years I have never in my life experienced or witnessed worse service/treatment in any venue, restaurant or any other service I have ever partaken in. The server Emma had the worst attitude I have ever come across in my 44 years on this earth. I took my kids for Ice cream and she looked right through us with a scowl, blank stare and an attitude the entire time. At the end my daughters were afraid to ask her to have a taste test. She was scowling at me, rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing audibly. I almost thought it was a joke and I was being punked. We had 3 simple ice creams and one sundae. The sundae had a few things on it so I handed her the list to make her job easier and she ripped it out of my hand. She was literally right in front of us complaining to the other girl that worked there about us visibly slamming everything around making our Ice cream..never felt worse energy off someone in my life. Will never go back to this place again. I left the place so angry I tossed the sundae she made in the trash. Unbelievable.

Yummy locally made ice cream. Lots of flavors, including butter pecan and butter crunch which are two of my favorites. I also had strawberry ice cream which had real strawberry chunks in it. The kiddies size is one Large scoop of ice-cream and the small has two large scoops of icevcream. They had a variety of add on toppings. They also over shakes and banana splits.

Super insulting -- the worst service from slow people. Stood outside the service window after I was told I was the next customer after the woman inside. 20 minutes later the dull-witted server took her time serving literally everyone who walked in, instead of me. ("I usually just serve everyone inside first.") Why not tell me to come inside? Why not serve customers in the order in which they came. Starting to see why people go elsewhere for their ice cream.

What's better than your favorite ice cream on a sunny summer day? An ice cream you can get anytime of the year! While most ice cream places close for the season, Carl's is open for the die hard fans who are willing to brave the elements and stand in line. See y'all there ✌️

We came here on July 31, 2021 around 9:30 in the evening. The ice cream is from Richardson Dairy and is terrific... Certainly the best on the North Shore. The waitstaff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I had chocolate and grapenut custard in a cup. You will enjoy Carl's Cones, Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Best ice cream place on the Northshore! Service was excellent! Prices are great and portions are huge! Would definitely recommend.

Price was good for the serving size and a huge topping variety. It's also Richardson's ice cream so it's pretty good.

Fantastic bakery! They made me an incredible cake for my wedding in 2019 and my recent visit to their new location was absolutely wonderful. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

I absolutely love this place, and go anytime I can. I don't even read the labels of what I am ordering, I just point, and say "I'll take one of those and those and those, because when everything tastes amazing and fresh, it doesn't matter what it's called....I'm eating it. I have never had anything there that isn't spectacular. I purchase items for my clients too, and they rave about it, and ask me for more. Love the atmosphere of this little spot. It's very bright and welcoming and they even have a cute little water area for a refresher. Even their social media pages got me taking a bite out of my phone screen. The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming.

Beautiful location and everything was absolutely delicious. We got one of every baked good besides the cookies and each one was incredible. Particularly enjoyed the peach scones and the brownie/blondie bites!

Came to share an updated menu. Pistachio matcha. It was a little heavy on matcha, but the earthiness works for me. The bakery items looked delicious, we will be back to try them.

Mayflour is the cutest cafe! The baked goods and coffee are always delicious, and there’s such a wide variety offered of high-quality items. The cakes are some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and the designs are absolutely beautiful. If I lived closer, I’d be there all of the time. I love the commitment to sustainability and minimizing waste, and you can tell how much thought and care goes into every decision and every item sold. A unique gem worth visiting and supporting!

Wonderful little coffee and breakfast shop. Delicious and warm savory egg galette. They don’t offer espresso but their coffee tastes great! Very cute inside. The lids don’t fit the cups very well so I wish you get new lids/cups soon. I ended up spilling my coffee in the car.

JUST fantastic. Small but mighty bakery with an involved owner who cares about sustainability and keeps serving up delicious quality coffees, baked goods and more. LOVE having this GEM in my town.

Stumbled upon this place after going to a shop next door. It was toward the end of the night so they were limited on treats but we still got a cookie and a hot drink. I love the minimal clean look and had no idea they were herb farmer just happed to over hear a conversation. I can’t wait to go back to try more of the treats and soft serve that changes regularly.

My first time to visit United States with family last Winter. Finally, I found the best Boba tea taste with nice service. If I have chance for next vacation, I wish to visit again and get more egg waffles, Macarons.

It's been lovely every time we've been here! The drinks are great and there is a huge variety to choose from. My only negative experience was a macaron I got that must have been way too old because it was hard as a rock and the sugar was changing color. Otherwise we've loved this shop for a fun treat!

How can I find the words to describe this lovely shop? It is filled with delightful treasures in addition to wine and cheese. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! It's heavenly! :)

Laura put together a picnic basket for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary. This was a surprise gift that she delivered to their hotel. We arranged this over the phone, and her helpfulness included working out a detailed menu with me and then going around to local shops to get little items that she didn't stock in the Cave--from a local artist's greeting card to Italian salads and fresh berries. The basket was beautiful, the food delicious--even the hotel staff were raving about it. It was joy to do business with her.

Jerome H — Google review
The owner is very very nice. Lovely local spot selling wine, cheese, chocolate, olive oils and other imported goodies. Lots of great baskets, cutting boards, rolling pins, crackers, spices, and other cooking supplies. Small section with local candles and soaps too. Everything they've recommended to me (cheese and wine) has been delicious. Good prices on wine too. It looks like it would be an expensive place, but it's pretty reasonable. Personal favorites are the bags of salted marcona almonds and the local jelly beans.
Mary P — Google review
The Cave is the best place I know of where a world of cheese, chocolate, wine and sausage awaits those who venture inside. There are many items to choose both for preparing and serving of food and gifts for others including many unique items. I'm amazed at the variety of international cheeses and wine pairings the proprietress is knowledgeable about. She takes the time to explain, offers samples and engages with the customer. Why go to the supermarket when The Cave in Gloucester offers such a nice experience?

If you're on the lookout for a delightful local eatery, Jim's Bagel & Bake Shoppe is definitely worth a visit. Despite initial hesitations based on mixed reviews, stepping inside reveals its charm as a beloved neighborhood spot bustling with regulars. The unique aroma that greets you might be unexpected—perhaps it's the onions—but it adds to the character of this inviting bagel shop.
We were so pleasantly surprised by this place just this weekend. The bagels and donuts are really good - best I've had in the area. We usually in the past have settled for frozen bagels from the grocery store - far better than the rubbish at Dunkin - but everything here is well worth the trip. Delicious food, great prices, polite, friendly and interesting staff; all that with reasonable prices.
Patrick M — Google review
I love to try new local places when I'm in different areas. I read the reviews on Jim's and I was initially not going to try it but I said you know what, let's give it a shot. I walked in, it's clearly a popular local spot, the reviews are not stopping the regulars who frequent this place. There was a funky smell to the place when I walked in, not what you'd expect walking into a bagel shop but maybe it was the onions? The place has an old time feel to it, the bakery cases are dark with no lights in them but the stuff in them looked delicious. I grabbed an iced cappuccino, a strawberry frosted donut and honey cinnamon bagel. The ice cappuccino was great, the strawberry frosted donut was awesome, light and fluffy and not honey dipped first. The bagel was good too, but I had it untoasted and 8 hours later so it clearly could have been much better freshly toasted with cream cheese. All that only cost me about $8! I wouldn't let the one start reviews put you off from trying Jim's.
Joe B — Google review
Arrived at around 8, went for Bagel sandwiches. I was expecting a horror show based on past reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and efficient, the server was pleasant. The place was clean. I didn’t notice anything scummy or dirty, about the counters, where they were preparing food or the cases where the baked goods are. My bagel sandwich was delicious and we bought a1/2 dozen to go! We also came back with a lobster tail ( only other place I’ve had one is at Carlo’s bakery in Hoboken NJ), a huge cinnamon bun, and some croissants! I’d come back again!
Robert F — Google review
A small coffee shop with a few seats. The coffee was just okay. Bagels taste fresh. Also got a cinnamon roll, and it was mostly bread. Not very sweet with very little icing.
Jessica P — Google review
Food is great but have had some service issues. And expensive. A dozen donuts is like 26 dollars that's not much of a quantity discount. Have been charged different amounts for the same order due to cashier mistakes. Order can be wrong from time to time. And they should warm their ham before they put it in a breakfast sandwich. They put a freezing cold piece of ham that cools down the whole sandwich
Austin S — Google review
I ordered a cake and some gluten free cupcakes for a party. When I arrived to pick them up I first noticed the cashier and friends were looking at my receipt and laughing. They came out with the cake and said when they took the order they didn’t know they don’t do GF foods. Not sure why they didn’t call me and let me make appropriate adjustments. I had placed the order over 2 weeks prior. Also not sure why they thought it was good customer service to laugh about it. BYW. Cake Ann came to my rescue and had amazing GF cupcakes at the last minute. The regular cake we had was good.
Suzanne C — Google review
My rule of thumb for cooks (of any kind) is, would you eat this? Would you pay for this? If the answer is No, then why the hell would I? Hot lava innards wrapped in a cold chewy bagel. Criminal to ask for something extra toasted and it comes out microwaved. On the positive side my dogs got an extra treat this morning, but likely just turning to diarrhea that ill have to clean up later. By the looks of the bagel sandwich, it was either them or me.

Cupboard of Gloucester is a charming eatery located in Stage Fort Park, offering classic and affordable sandwiches that are fried to perfection. With over 100 years of history, this seasonal restaurant serves up fresh fried seafood, great sandwiches, and delicious BBQ grilled chicken from May through September. The friendly atmosphere and picturesque views make it a perfect spot for a casual meal or to grab food to enjoy at the park or beach.
Lovely little place that's been around for over 100 years!! Food is great! Cooked fresh to order. The fried clams were delicious!! The people frequenting the joint were super friendly and up for a chatty conversation. The few people that walked in had been there many times before but was surprised to see it still the same as they remembered. The owner was having a friendly chat with some other customers and I joined in. I would recommend this place for a great casual meal anytime!! Thank you 😊

So me and my family went in gloucester for the first time to see the beach and enjoy this days off we have so after the beach we came in this restaurant to have lunch but im very dis appointed as we waited for the food for longer 40mins as we and my baby is very hungry and when we receive our food Onion rings no taste, coke taste nasty and the hotdog and bread looks old and chicken tender is old and looks like they just reheat it. I always give gratuity to people. I NEVER MISS anything but this time it very upset me no apologize from them instead they told we are rude as we didnt give them enough gratuity. But come on i never miss anything to give gratuity but the food is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. we waited and close ur window on me and saying im rude??? LOOK PICTURE BELOW thats how they serve our food look the hotdog and onion rings it looks like they just reheat and very old

It is a good place to get ice cream with a great view. The food however has dropped significantly in quality over the past few years. I got a fish sandwich for just around $14 with no sides and it had a comically thin slice of fried fish in it. The ice tea had mold in it so I asked for a new one, they gave it to me and that one had mold in it too. Yum.

This is a seasonal restaurant open from some time in May thru Sep. They offer a wide variety of great sandwiches, fresh fried seafood, and a great bbq grilled chicken, to name just a few. It's a nice place to go and either dine in or take it to go. Their bbq sauce is awesome, I love it! I would love to have the recipe or have the opportunity to buy it by the bottle. 🙂 I really should check on that, lol! The location is pretty great, too, since it's across from Stage Fort Park. The fact they have an ice cream shop next door, as well, is definitely an added bonus!! If you're looking for fast food that is pretty darn tasty, then you won't be sorry. It's definitely worth checking out!! They are also really nice people, too - they won't disappoint. 🙂😃😉 Maribeth

The food was very bland and tasteless as was the young ladies at the window, very uninviting, the prices are Ridiculously high, $23 for 3 pieces of cardboard like fish and cold Thawed out fries, Honestly the best part of the meal was the buns ketchup, make sure to buy your own food before you get to the beach, because the meal from the restaurant can ruin you day👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Jayde C — Google review
It's worth paying attention to whether reviews here are about the ice cream or about the food. For lunch today, we paid $50.50 for a scallop plate, a fish sandwich and a large root beer. The fish sandwich was some over-fried and thin pieces of a white fish. The scallop plate was nearly inedible. The scallops were barely warm and did not appear to have been fried recently. They were nearly tasteless--almost fishy instead of subtly sweet. Maybe the ice cream at the Cupboard is really good, but I would avoid the fried food--poorly prepared and way too expensive. We went into town to the Holy Cow ice cream place which was excellent.

Decided to stop here based on their reviews. Needless to say I was disappointed. I got the fish n chips came w coleslaw and bread. A LG soda for.$3 extra. Total cost around $28. Very overly priced granted it was probably the area.

It is a joy to revisit Harbor's Point Ice Cream and appreciate the good fortune of indulging in our favorite treats there. The warm welcome, filled with smiles, hugs, and laughter, never fails to make us feel appreciated. We are eternally thankful for their extensive and delectable selection of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Moreover, they go beyond just providing delicious treats; they treat us like family during every visit.
I'm confused by the negative reviews. Limited choice? Their selection is huge! I had Coffee Kahlua Brownie last week. Hard ice cream, soft, yogurt, sherbert.......Small portions? Their kiddie cup is too big for me! Great location, near beaches. A few Adirondack chairs. I recently left something valuable there, and drove home three hours. They could not have been nicer.

Fantastic to see you both again and feeling fortunate we made it up there to enjoy our favorite treats!!! Always greeted with smiles, hugs and laughter! I am leaving 3 stars because I've been there and the ice cream is delicious. However, after checking the hours online, closing at 9pm. I took my kids and walked there at 8pm only to find they were closed. Maybe I should've called. Maybe they should change their hours on Google. 🤔

Yesterday, my family had driven an hour away to go to the fair and stopped here after. Upon walking in the whole place smelled like cigarette smoke so I walked out again. My mother and son stayed in and while waiting the older woman was completely rude to my family telling my mother that my son was taking too long. My mother has a more quiet voice and was trying to tell the woman he was ready to order and she was completely ignored so my mother immediately left with my son who was now in tears that he had no ice cream and the woman was so rude. We ended up stopping again down the road at Salahs scoops to get my son ice cream and the staff there was much friendlier with a much cleaner and cute spot. If you want cigarette smelling ice cream and nasty staff feel free to stop by Harbor point ice cream. Very disappointed with the way my family was treated here.

Not a single customer in there, and both employees sitting at one of the tables texting and chatting while I'm attempting to open the door to leave while carrying an ice cream in each hand, and pushing a stroller with a toddler in it who is also holding an ice cream. Neither one even blinked an eye to care enough to get up or ask if I needed help. As I'm like clearly struggling and spilling Icecream float every where 👍🏻
