Mark Twain Dinette, located on North 3rd Street, is a popular diner in Hannibal known for its signature ground-beef sandwiches and homestyle platters like the Mark Twain Fried Chicken. The menu features a variety of starters, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and tacos. Visitors can also enjoy homemade root beer with free refills. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with open seating in the front and a quieter ambiance.
Bring your appetite! Stopped in over the weekend and ordered the fried tenderloin sandwich, homemade onion rings and bottomless homemade root beer and everything was deliciously incredible! The fried tenderloin is massive and delicious. The homemade onion rings were great and the homemade root beer, tasty! Our server was so attentive, we never had to ask for a refill, she would just come over with a pitcher and topped us off. Great food, great service! What more can you ask for?

We were recently able to eat here during a quick trip to visit the sights of Mark Twain. What a fantastic little dinner. We got here soon after they opened, because by 12, there was a wait. I tried the half-sized Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. It was cooked well, and the half size was right for me. The rest of the family had chicken and waffles, the "Mississippi BBQ Burger", and kids 'Grilled Cheese." The onion rings were so good! The service was quick and courteous. Great little place to stop, just a block up from the shops on Main Street.

It's a bit out of the ordinary, but in a good way. Seated immediately, waitress quick, friendly and quick. Food extra good. Lots of variety, something for everyone. Only sad part was food was so good and plentiful that we were too full for dessert. 8 slices of bacon on my BLT!! Hubby had one of the horseshoe dishes and loved it.

Traveling from Colorado to Ohio, I spent the night in Hannibal at the hotel across the street. Root beer is very good, poutine was delicious, and the chicken was great, juicy and lots of flavor in their breading. That biscuit was pretty darn good too. I will make it a point to include a stop here in future travels along this route.
Thomas H — Google review
Really nice restaurant. Friendly servers. Good food. It's a diner. My wife had a mushroom and Swiss burger that she very much enjoyed. I had a Maid-Rite. It's a loose meat hamburger with mustard, pickle & onion. I added cheese and it was delicious. We got a half foot of onion rings. They were outstanding. The chili was good too. This is a great place to visit while in Hannibal. The homemade root beer was absolutely fantastic! Free refills. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch. My wife had an amazing Reuben and fries. And I had 2 Maid-Rites.
Dustin E — Google review
Excellent experience! Rootbeer in a frosted mug was incredible. So many options, but I settled on the stamping burger. It was incredible. You can tell this is a real deal diner in everything they cook. Highly recomend stopping by here.
Kyle W — Google review
They serve the best fried chicken. They have fantastic onion rings. The open-face roast beef is delicious. Burgers are good. We have not had any bad food.
Beverly H — Google review
There were 3 of us. We ordered the onion ring stack. They were good but very oily. Chicken tenders with fries, smoked pork steak with mashed potatoes and 1/2 pork tenderloin sandwich with green beans. Not one single thing was seasoned. All 3 of us were dissatisfied which is unusual for us. I ate 1/3 of the tenderloin sandwich and left the rest. We also left all by 2 bites of the chicken tenders and 3/4 of the pork steak. It was an awful experience. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. The restaurant was decently clean and kept up.

Rustic Oak Grill & Pub is a charming and unpretentious restaurant located in the Huck Finn Shopping Center. The intimate wood-themed setting, adorned with hunting-themed decor, offers a unique dining experience. The menu features a variety of amazing dishes including steaks, seafood, and burgers. Despite initial concerns about the ambiance, visitors found the staff to be personable and attentive.
First time eating here and will definitely not be our last. EVERYTHING was amazing. The service was the best we have received in years. The food was fairly priced, and the portions were huge. Our appetizer was the best loaded potato skins we have ever eaten. The pork tenderloin was HUGE, covered in skillet gravy paired by mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife had their signature Rustic Oak steak. She loved the special butter it was served with. (See photos) All said, one of the best meals we have had in years that did not cost $250-$300. We will definitely be back again soon.
Larry A — Google review
The food was good and the service was just OK. They did not seat us until our entire party arrived a party of 12. Of course we all travel separately so we had to just stand around. The server was polite and did good. However the hostess some young kid with braces has so much to learn... Margaritas were good and very tasty. Several people had desert and no complaints. I say go give this place a try. It is a little dingy not well lit. But food selection is great.

This was our first time here. We sat at the bar and had wonderful service and our bartender was very nice and on point! I’m not usually a sweet drinker and I had the lemon martini and it was amazing. We also had steaks and the mozzarella sticks are on steroids and like hand battered, I highly recommend. We took their homemade fudge home with us also. We will be back.

Everything we had was absolutely perfect! Our waitress was excellent & the place was packed but we had our food in a decent amount of time. Would come back!

The steaks were amazing, cooked to perfection. They also had great flavor. The batter on the onion rings and cheese sticks was a bit thick. The waitress was amazing. Atmosphere was nice hometown steak place vibe. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

Java Jive is a vibrant coffee shop located in Historic Downtown Hannibal, Mo. Established in 2000, it offers locally roasted brews, breakfast options, sandwiches, and operates as a bakery and gift store. The cozy setting makes it an inviting spot to enjoy a delightful meal or grab a cup of coffee. Whether you choose to sit inside or outside, the friendly staff ensures a pleasant experience.
Amazing place, was in town on business, the outside was so inviting I had to stop in, best pastries I’ve had in a while. I took a bunch with me loved every one of them, the coffee bar system is amazing, coffee bar is self serve so I don’t have to feel like I need to know a different language to order coffee, large number of choices, can’t wait to come back. A+

Loved the food and service. The atmosphere was eclectic and cozy. However, one of the employees must have had their kids sitting there while they were on the clock. One of the kids was on the phone and had it on speaker. They were talking with someone using crude and gross language. I asked them to turn it down or hang up. They kept talking and I walked up and asked again. When the kid started cursing at me, I went to an employee. They couldn't control their kids who kept cursing, throwing things and yelling even when they went outside. Shameful representative of this business for a first time customer. For someone who plans on being in the area for a long time, there are many other options in the area

Excellent coffee! Had a raspberry mocha with almond milk. ☕️ Yum! Have been here a few times and their lunch menu is great also. Several novelty items, gifts, books, and souvenirs for sale. ✨️ Plenty of seating in a very creative atmosphere. My only negative critique of this establishment is the inclusion of a section of items for sale that are obscene and tasteless, in my opinion. Families beware if you have little eyes in the shop section. Books with cuss words on the front and sexual references. I'm all for the first amendment freedom of expression, but these items were not virtuous. Staff was very kind. Service was great. Ayers Pottery is available for sale here as well. Piano is on site to play as well! 🎹🎶

We were in town for the Hannibal Big River Steampunk Festival. We ate here multiple times because the lattes and breakfast bowls were great. It was a busy weekend and the staff was friendly and fast. The shop is in a pair of historic buildings that have been beautifully restored and furnished in eclectic furniture with pottery for sale. The same pottery they serve their eat-here food in. Fabulous place. Highly recommended.

There's nothing not to like and love about this place! The strawberry banana smoothie is awesome on a hot day! They have other flavors too but that's my favorite! Looking for a snack, meal or coffee, this is the place! Cozy place to sit and relax too!

Always friendly staff, even when they’re super busy! Their chicken Alfredo tortellini soup is absolutely delicious and all of their food is made fresh. You can taste the difference. 10/10 would recommend. And you can’t go wrong with any of their sweet treats!

Was in Hannibal visiting and we found this cafe. The vegan options are great. I had the Thai peanut veggie bowl. Really tasty! It would have been great if it was slightly bigger, but it was really delicious! I would highly recommend it. They also had fresh baked vegan cookies. 😁 Great little option in Hannibal.

Nestled in the charming town of Hannibal, MO, The Brick Oven is a must-visit for pizza lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This delightful eatery specializes in wood-fired pizzas that are bursting with flavor. As soon as you step inside, the inviting aroma of garlic fills the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. Guests rave about their friendly service and generous portions; many have enjoyed delectable appetizers like cannelloni bites before diving into their pizza selections.
The pizza was outstanding! We ordered The Brick and added mushrooms. The pizza was flavorful, especially the mushrooms. The crust was light and crispy. The amount of meat was generous. This was one of the best pizzas I have ever had! The wine selection offered something for everyone. The servers were very friendly. The Tiramisu was fantastic. It was rich and creamy with a subtle coffee flavor. Yum! If we lived in the area we would revisit often. We are glad we found this place!

The service was great at 11 a.m. the place is well done inside and very clean. The menu has lunch sandwiches and pizza a few salads and pastas the rest of the day with some nice appetizers. They bring fresh bread to the table, which is very nice and the bread is good. Process seem a but high for the area but the food is good. The brick oven pizza is really good. You can't beat the brick o en taste. The pizza could habe used a little sauce. It wasn't even detectable.
Jane C — Google review
Thank you for providing wonderful service as we came in 20 mins before closing from the road. Our waitress was lovely. The food and atmosphere were awesome. We all had pasta: chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and Cajun Tortellini with shrimp. They were all delicious and large portions. We really enjoyed the house dressing on their salad. Thank you!
Christina S — Google review
If you're looking for Italian food in Hannibal, this place give you lots of solid options. The lava cake was the highlight of my meal. Nothing was bad, but everything was just ok. I personally wanted more cheese on my Margherita Pizza, and my wife wanted more sauce for her baked pasta. All that said, there are some really high end, unique offerings for such a small town. Solid food, nothing amazing in my opinion.
Kyle W — Google review
The Brick Oven Easy to find. Parking could be touchy when tourists arrive. Great old world Italian feel. Made us feel like family. Beautiful helpful Waitress, Tori. Great prices. I had Manicotti and hubby had Grandpa Karl's Spaghetti with extra meatballs. The meatballs are a good size. So just get 2 unless you are very hungry. Both meals were exceptional! We split a tiramisu. Please try them all out.
Beth F — Google review
The food was great , and it has no internet. Only 4G LTE was available. we had to ask for bread and oil, which was very good, but when it came time to order, it took 15 minutes to place our order. Also, some food was not available till 4pm
Gabie B — Google review
Party of 4 and we all enjoyed our meals! Food is freshly made, staff is friendly. Found my new favorite place to eat in Hannibal! I thought the prices were great especially considering the amount of food we each got. I'll definitely be recommending this to any regulars that come to my work and ask about great food places. Parking isn't that great ONLY because its down town and parking is hard to find any where around there so its not their fault.
Heather H — Google review
We've been in Hannibal for 2 days and this was far and away the best food experience. The fried mushrooms were delicious but the meatballs were fabulous! We ordered multiple items to try and the pizza is exceptional!!! We also had chicken parmesean and baked penne. Everything tasted great but the star is the pizza for sure.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit MiMi's Coffee House & Ice Cream and sample their large white mocha. It was truly delightful! The coffee's robust taste combined flawlessly with the luscious sweetness of the mocha, resulting in a heavenly sensory encounter. The baristas were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that each drink was crafted to perfection.
We visited this quaint place this past Sunday, 12-15-24 I must say we were not disappointed. Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff were able to answer every question that we had, and that was impressive! The only downfall is that our portions were very small, so if you are looking for a hearty meal I would not make this my first choice, but if you are looking for a bite to get you through until the next meal, I would most definitely choose this place time and time again! The photos were taken up close just to show how good the food was, but the portions we were very small!
Sonya T — Google review
Came for a cool refreshment. Out of Gelato and the Ice Cream options are chocolate, vanilla, or swirl soft-serve. Out of Root Beer for a root beer float. Ended just ordering a mocha and lotus drink. The lotus was pretty good and the mocha was okay, but very sweet. Definitely wasn’t what we were hoping or craving from a place “Ice Cream” in the name.
Aaron V — Google review
Walked over here from the Quality Inn & Suites. The giant sign and pineapple décor drew us in. The staff was extremely welcoming and the coffee was exactly what I wanted! I got a toffee nut latté and it was perfection. Not brewed too hot so that the espresso still held it's flavor, not too much syrup to mask the coffee, and just enough milk. I really love the way the place has been decorated as well! It has a rustic yet modern feel. Kind of an oxymoron but it somehow works!
Melinda — Google review
The ladies were so helpful and kind. The food was spot on. Salads were full. Our non coffee drinks were tasty. Area was clean. Family friendly place. We love it for our ladies day out or study/work time. Think Panera Bread but way better!

Salted caramel machiatta no different than others. Service was bare minimum. Took order. Swiped card. Signed receipt. End of counter drink placed and done. The atmosphere here is the same as McDonald's... pay & go. However, I'd prefer McDonald's iced cawfee over Mimi's.

Great spot! Warmed sticky bun is delicious. We stopped in drying a road trip, and the tasty treats and coffee are worth the detour.

Ordered a wicked witch lotus, got the complete wrong drink. Not even the same color as my drink. Asked for no cream and somehow get cold foam in my lotus. Couldn’t even make the wrong drink the right way.

Ole Wolfhound Pub is a newly opened Irish-themed bar, restaurant, and live music venue located in the space previously occupied by Ole Planters Restaurant. The establishment has received positive feedback for its attentive service and delicious food, with menu highlights including the Blarney Stone appetizer, shepherds pie, and pork tenderloin. Visitors have praised the pub for its authentic Irish vibe reminiscent of establishments in Dublin.
This is a FRIENDLY and welcoming atmosphere. If you're down with St. Patrick's day or Irish related, you WILL enjoy the Irish theme. We got the black and tan onion rings appetizer and black and tan burgers. FRESH AND DELICIOUS! I loved everything about our new experience!

I tries fish and chips and it was really great. Good Irish vibe inside. They also have live footage of the Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland, which is something new ;). A good collection of Irish ales and whiskey.
Bhushan C — Google review
Three of us visiting from San Antonio went here for on 4/12/25 for a dinner-time bite and a drink. We really enjoyed it. The vibe was good, the service was very good, and the food was good. The star of the meal was the Loaded Irish Chips, described on the menu as follows: “House fried chips topped with pub cheese sauce, banger sausage, bacon, and green onions.” They were absolutely glorious! The beer cheese, along with everything else described was perfect. The three of us had the beer battered fish and chips as our meal. Overall, it was good, but the beer batter was a little different than others I’ve had. It was a little thin and tasted oily at the thin ends of the fish. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. If we ever find ourselves in Hannibal again, we’ll definitely be dropping in here!

We had a wonderful experience though the one and only server was a bit overloaded...she weathered the load with a smile, friendly and gracious demeanor. The food was served hot and their ale was tasty. A place to visit when in Hannibal.

Great little Irish pub. I had the Banger Roll which was served with fries. I also had the Angry Redhead cocktail which is also good.

Its a smaller joint, less seating. I would walk in knowing it may be full, however its a relaxing environment to visit and catch up. GREAT VIBES!

While the food was actually outstanding and great, and the drinks available were great... The service was remarkably slow. My group was there for well over two hours with our waitress appearing at our table once in a great while. I would recommend the food if you're ready to dedicate an evening to a meal - but if you want the standard 1 (or even 1.5 hr) experience, I would look elsewhere.

Drakes Steak & Ale, located in the heart of Hannibal, offers a diverse menu featuring signature steaks, barbecue favorites, pasta dishes, and delectable desserts. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere with a full bar for a unique dining experience. While some customers have had issues with their orders being mixed up or overcooked, others have praised the delicious smoked meat aroma that fills the air upon entering.
Steak was terrific. Perfectly medium rare, thick, and flavorful. Their homemade ranch dressing was very good and enjoyed the mixed greens. At the time of this review, the meal was only $16.99. Can’t beat that! Staff was nice and attentive, too. Would recommend.

We haven’t been here in awhile, stopped in for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Had a burger (I’m a burger snob) and onion rings. One of the best burgers I have had and great service.
Stacy D — Google review
We have never been to one of these before. Drakes was right across from our hotel. Our server, Aiyanna, was great! Ask for her. The ambiance here is cool. Good music, cool bar, great staff! I had the Chili Mac with a side salad. The latter was kinda small. The entree was fine. It was made with angel hair pasta, so that was unique. I make mine with elbow macaroni, hence Chili MAC. My wife had the 8 ounce sirloin which was absolutely fantastic!!! She totally out ordered me!! She had the baked sweet potato for her side. That steak. Man. Just SO good!! We both agreed the salad dressings here were special. She had blue cheese and I had 1000 Island. It was not orange like the cheap stuff. This was great! We'd absolutely return here to dine and split the 16-ounce sirloin. There's a $5 split plate fee, FYI.
Dustin E — Google review
The food was good, I had the brisket sandwich and brisket was delicious but it was just bread and meat seemed a little bland. The onion rings were homemade and delicious! The service was good as well. The sticky floor in the bathroom wasn’t good and since we came for lunch the prices were a bit high. We would go back though.
Megan ( — Google review
We visited Drakes on Friday evening, arriving around 5:00 p.m. The restaurant was not busy at all, and we were seated quickly. By the time we left around 6:00, it had started to fill up. Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant dinner turned into one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. I started by ordering my favorite wine (listed on the menu), only to be told they had “run out.” I then ordered an iced tea. My husband’s beer arrived right away, but the server said she’d be right back with my tea. Ten minutes later, after watching her serve other tables, she finally seemed to notice she had forgotten it. When it did arrive, it was undrinkable — the worst tea I’ve ever tasted. We placed our food orders promptly, and I requested that my side salad be brought out ahead of my meal. By 5:35, still no salad. When the server came by to say our entrées were nearly ready, I asked about it. She acted surprised and went to check. I watched her fuss with the order screen, clearly realizing it had been forgotten. A few minutes later she returned with an excuse about the dressing not being on the side, but it was obvious the salad had simply been overlooked. Once it arrived, it was fresh and tasty — but of course, our entrées followed almost immediately after. The food itself was the highlight of the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed their BBQ pulled pork, and everything tasted delicious. However, the service continued to disappoint. Not once during the meal did our server check in to ask how everything was. As the restaurant grew busier, I began to worry about how long it would take to get the bill. I tried repeatedly to get her attention — she passed our booth five times without a glance. Twice she stopped at the table right beside us, and even when I called out to her, she ignored me. Eventually I had to sit at the edge of the booth and literally step into her path before she acknowledged me. I’ve always loved Drakes for the food, but this experience makes me hesitant to return.
Lisa G — Google review
Drake's is a little off the beaten path, but worth the stop. The Drake tails are a little much for me, but probably a great shareable item for some. I have to say that the smoked pork steak lived up to the "best pork you'll ever have" tagline. The service was great and the restaurant was clean and quiet when I was there, about 2 in the afternoon. I will be by again when in the area and looking for a great dinner!
Andrew J — Google review
Nice little place to get a good meal! Love the decorations....my child loves ducks! Plenty of parking, well kept building, restrooms clean! We were a party of 7 and we all enjoyed our meals. The most favorite of all were the drake tails. I think I would go back just to eat those for lunch! Yummy! (not duck btw...its curly fries with BBQ meat and sauce and maybe a few other things). Will definately return to eat here again! Thank you!
Marianne — Google review
Update: prices are good; service is excellent, and rhe building is great. We tried the fried fish, which was fair and more breading than fish. The toast was great. The chili was flavorful but has a little corn in it wirh beans and meat, not too spicy. The baked beans are amazing! Coleslaw is fair, very creamy but not enough flavor. The side salad was nice with greens instead of lettuce. CLOSED! We showed up at 11 on a Saturday. By the time we got to the door, a woman in a car showed up to tell us they were closed and to run us off. The website and Google both list the hours and that it is still open. Old review: Best place in Hannibal. NExcellent food at good prices. Super staff, comfortable seating, clean, and always a good experience.

Located on Main Street, the Dutch Country General Store in Hannibal offers a nostalgic shopping experience with its wide array of products. Visitors can explore the town's historic district and nearby attractions through guided tours by the Hannibal Trolley Company or rent bikes from the Hannibal Bike Share program for further exploration. The store boasts an extensive selection of homemade candies, jams, pickled items, toys, and miscellaneous goods.
This place is fantastic! This is the kind of place you're hoping to find in a small-town and when you do, you tell your friends about it! They have a little bit of everything here from a deli counter to toys and my personal favorite the baked goods section! If you're thirsty they also carry a wide-selection of specialty pops! Before you leave, make sure you get a free ice cream cone! Make a point to visit this gem on the Mississippi!

A treasure find in the middle of downtown close to many other shops (including 2 quilt shops!!). A huge selection of candy, pasta, spices, fudge, cookies, fried pies, sauces and many other things. There are cast iron items, Melissa and Doug toys and the most friendly staff. There is also a deli and plenty of grocery items. Jonathan was pleasant, helpful and funny. Not to mention the FREE ICE CREAM AND COFFEE! The true meaning of general store. A must visit.

What a fun store! I could have spent hours in here but it was near 6PM closing when I arrived. They have great prices, friendly staff, freebies & every fun gift & treat you could ever imagine! I WILL be back when I have more time.

Great shop with lots of candies and chocolates. Dutch Country Store has a large selection of nice toys, cookware, and cooking supplies like dried noodles, mixes, jams and jellies. There is even a deli. They offer free ice cream cones, pop corn, and coffee to each visitor.
Cadence G — Google review
We were visiting the town and while walking through the downtown came across this wonderful store. They have various items at great price. Candy, toys, food products, home decor, kitchen items, much more elegant items to pick. It was great experience to walk into the store.
BHAGYASHREE S — Google review
Wonderful store with a great classic feel and awesome selection!! I loved their free ice cream and big selection of vintage candy and syrups, spices, candles, etc! Worth a stop for sure if you're doing the Mark Twain tours

12-21-23. Definitely change here and not for the good. Shelves empty, bulk candy gone, deli closed. Looks like it's a closing the doors sale. So sad.
Rodney Y — Google review
A wide variety of candy, honey, seasoning and so much more. Stopped for a road break and ended up picking up a few things. Check out the flavors of drink. The staff was very nice despite the heat.

American restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Hannibal, Missouri, Ole Planters Restaurant has been a beloved mom-and-pop establishment since 1976. This charming eatery offers a delightful blend of homestyle American cuisine with distinct German-American influences. Guests can savor meals cooked to order in cast iron skillets, featuring smoked meats prepared on-site and homemade pies crafted daily. The menu boasts hearty options like prime rib served mid-rare and nostalgic sides such as green beans reminiscent of a traditional German country kitchen.
The atmosphere was delightful and so far the food has been wonderful. The portion size is more than expected.
Big P — Google review
A beautiful historic restaurant on Main St. in Hannibal, Missouri. The decor will take you back in town. The food is good and the service is friendly. The prices are not unreasonable. It's almost like a museum and a restaurant. Really enjoyed looking at all the different things on the walls. Good place to try.
Brenda V — Google review
Authentic local cottage cooking with distinctly German-American flavors. Prime rib respectably mid-rare, hard to find in rural midwest. Corn could be better possibly from a can in heart of corn country. Green beans were delightful, nostalgic German country kitchen favorite. Smoky brats lean toward Bavarian. White wine sauce tasty, could be more intense of same flavor. Decor a rustic treat. Truly antique and interesting not kitchy. Succeeds where many of this ilk fail.
R. J — Google review
Great food and great value for your dollar! Both plates were under $10 each for lunch!
Mary S — Google review
An interesting experience to say the least. I will start off by saying, never have your family work in the restaurant with you if they aren't qualified or aren't properly trained. We ordered and food came out almost immediately, but the server didn't know prices, didn't understand substitutions, and didn't really have any kind of knowledge about her job. Food wasn't terrible, but clearly was made once and left for the rest of the day. Clearly canned and sugar and salt tossed on for flavor. Fresh food would go a long way at this place. Pork wasn't bad and had good flavor, but meant was clearly frozen and then immediately cooked and not fresh whatsoever.
Alyssa L — Google review
We had a rude waitress with zero personality. The food was fair. The pies were great. The manager/cook lecturing the 2 waitresses really ruined my desire to ever go back. He said (This is an excerpt) "There will be no substitutions whatsoever today! If a customer wants extra mushrooms etc.. etc...etc... today.... they're not getting it. Understand? Also, we tipped the waitresses quite a bit, we felt bad for her, even though she was short and rude. The icing was that she just took the whole amount we gave her when we paid, never asking if we wanted change or saying thank you. This place has major issues.
Stephanie B — Google review
Our meals were good, portions were large which made up for what seemed like steep prices at first. $2 for a can of warm soda is unreasonable, however. Husband and I were in on Valentine's Day and the owner surprised us with complimentary chocolate covered strawberries. Our waitress was young and seemed nervous, probably the owner's teen daughter, but she was attentive.
Amanda F — Google review
Recommended by a local, which normally is good but not in this case. Salad bar barely had enough lettuce to make a salad. We never been there before so we had several questions which we heard the waitress complain about. She was so young she really didn't know how to be a good server. Food was nothing more than already processed food with some seasoning added. Beware of green beans as they are full of sugar. Never did bring our drinks and had to point out to take off bill. Server also the one ringing us up. She didn't know prices and spent several minutes looking at menu even though I told her the price of each meal. After all that she still got it wrong and over charged me. And she didn't even offer a printed receipt. Had to ask for it and she tore off a little piece of the bottom of it. So, frustrated I didn't even talk about the overcharge, just got out of there fast as we could! If I could rate 0(zero) I would. Don't go here, go up to the Mark Twain dinette.

Ice cream shop
When you find yourself in Hannibal, make sure to swing by Becky's Old Fashioned Ice Cream. Nestled conveniently near the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum, this delightful ice cream parlor exudes charm with its nostalgic decor reminiscent of the 1800s. As you step inside, you're greeted not only by a tempting array of delicious ice cream flavors—like their standout huckleberry—but also by walls adorned with themed posters and shelves filled with old books that create a cozy atmosphere.
We decided on a day trip with the fam and found ourselves arriving at the perfect time! Mark Twain days. It was wonderful stepping outside of time and into Becky’s Ice cream shop. Of course you are met with delicious ice cream, but what’s more comforting are the themed posters, old books lining the walls, and 1800’s feel of the venue. I had the huckleberry and it was very delightful.
Geries S — Google review
We went in with high expectations and were extremely disappointed. The ice cream was delicious, no problem there with Blue Bell, but $7.00 for a double scoop cone and getting maybe 2-3 ounces of ice cream is ridiculous. The service was good as was the ambiance, but we could not get over just how little our scoops of ice cream were. We do not recommend this place for true ice cream lovers.
Rick M — Google review
Lovely little shop with such unique gifts, delicious ice cream, and friendly service!! Stop in - you won't be disappointed and will likely find a treasure or two! 🍦📚🍨🎁✨
Katie — Google review
A great little ice cream shop. Huckleberry and Pirates Treasure (3 chocolate candies in one) are the specialty flavors. Old fashioned candies, Mark Twain books, children's books and other novelty items are available.

After our trip on the river boat I took my 3 kiddos to get some ice cream. So glad we did! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the amazing ice cream! Such a cute place with some wonderful people running the shop!

This Ice Cream shop is fantastic even in winter! The Huckleberry Ice Cream is the best, highly recommend! The clerk is delightful and super friendly! If your stopping in Hannibal, this is a must stop. They also have souvenirs and a small book selection too.
Michelle K — Google review
Thank you! Amazing and courteous staff! I walked in 10 minutes before closing and I was still served! Staff even stayed a little late to let me shop. Found fun gift cards and postcards that would make anyone's day! Chocolate was sweet, other customers said their flavors tasted good, too!

Chocolate shop
Chocolaterie Stam is a delightful chocolate shop with a friendly and helpful staff. The ambiance is beautiful, reminiscent of classic candy stores from old films. The gelato selection is diverse, allowing customers to sample and choose their desired flavors. Generous servings are offered, particularly the delicious toasted marshmallow gelato. For popcorn lovers, the French Vanilla flavor is highly recommended. While the butterscotch chocolates taste good, they lack a distinct butterscotch flavor.
The BEST coffee around Quincy. Caramel latte with Oatmilk was the BEST coffee I have ever had. The coffee was so smooth and enjoyed every sip of it. Its a cafe with Chocolates, flavoured popcorn, Coffee and Gelatin Ice cream.Mitchell was so helpful with the detailed explanation of the available flavours and the most popular items. The Gelatin Ice cream were also very delicious. Would love to visit and get the same coffee, whenever we are in the area. Highly recommend it!
Renu V — Google review
Very nice chocolate shop. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very pretty. We tried several gelatos. The toasted marshmallow was very good;the servings are generous. The popcorn is good - try the French Vanilla. We tried some butterscotch chocolates and while they tasted fine, they didn’t have a very strong butterscotch flavor. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

Great place to stop in and grab some fudge, chocolate, gelato or coffee! Very nice young man behind the counter. Definitely recommend to stop in if you are visiting. They are open year round.

Wow, I am so glad I live 100+ miles away. This place is amazing. Chocolate, popcorn and gelato is a must buy and immediately leave the store. If not you going to end up just buying more. Delicious stuff 😋
Rodney Y — Google review
Stopped in for some gelato wasn't the best I've had, not even close. Large selection of chocolate and gourmet popcorn.
Kaleb H — Google review
Great gelato in hand-crafted flavors. While the chocolate was superb, the London Fog (with Earl Gray tea) and the Iron Rose were different and delightful. In a beautifully restored old building with historic photos on the brick walls, the indoor seating felt like a trip back in time. Friendly staff who encouraged us to taste-test their exotic flavors. Love this place.
Jeff B — Google review
We visited this gorgeous establishment on a recent trip to Missouri. When we walked in I felt like I had gone back in time and was transported to Europe. It was as beautiful as its chocolates were delicious. As much as I loved the chocolates and gelato, my favorite thing we purchased was the "Huckleberry Bliss Lotus" drink. This drink was so crisp and refreshing that my husband and I had to stop by again the next day to pick up another one on our way out of town. To top it all off the customer service was a 10! It's fabulous to visit a shop where the staff are so welcoming, friendly, patient and can provide really helpful recommendations. If you are in Hannibal, this is a must stop shop!

Amazing gelato! Some of the best I’ve had since our trip to Italy. The store was filled with Belgian chocolates, and many other delicious goodies. I would drive out of my way for their gelato! A must stop!

Ice cream shop
Dairy Queen (Treat) is a beloved fast-food destination that has been delighting customers for decades with its classic soft-serve ice cream and signature shakes. This charming establishment, which has stood the test of time for nearly 50 years, continues to impress with its consistent quality and friendly service. Visitors often find themselves drawn back by the nostalgic flavors and welcoming atmosphere.
The service was fast I like it you had to get out of the car to go in and order what you needed it was almost like old time when we used to walk up to the window when I was a kid the staff was friendly it was clean
R M — Google review
Service is always pretty good, my order is always correct and to expectations. My only complaint is the building is so small, there's literally no standing room. If u have a couple people standing in line waiting to order and a couple standing on the other side waiting to get their order, the place is full. What would it hurt to do a small expansion and maybe a little updating on the inside... it's really starting to look a little ran down on the inside.
Steven — Google review
New help? Ownership? Who knows, but the 25-30 minute wait is a clear indication that they aren't prepared for what appeared to be a normal Sunday night crowd. Too bad, as I saw people pull in, check it out, and leave without a purchase. Hoping the season gets things shook out....
Matt D — Google review
Ah my greatest weakness, Dairy Queen. I've been coming to this particular one for almost 50 years. What's that say? It means the food is as it was. Good, like the service. So often, in reviews, it's the one key element that can hurt a review. The quality is awesome. And the gentleman who took my order was nice. The girl who made my blizzard was just as well. So even though it's not the greatest job, it's nice when you get great service.
Anthony F — Google review
Every time I drive thru Hannibal, Dairy Queen is usually busy. Today I stopped. These ladies were very kind, pleasant, and extremely busy. There were also door dash orders. A person arrived to pick up two orders that were placed at different times. In between the order's I am guessing were 7 orders. They impressed me by completing every order in the order they were ordered. As a customer who came in and ordered, I appreciated that very much. I will stop by next time I am in Hannibal. Thank You ladies for working so hard.
Teresa B — Google review
I was craving a cheeseburger after the show so we went through the drive thru it was very hot very fresh and very good.

Nice old style DQ that has been kicking for at least 50 years! They also have the Orange Julius that is missing in both St Louis and Southern Illinois for several years now. Worth a visit if you'dlike an Orange Julius or Tripleberry blast!!!
Chris J — Google review
This place has gone to hell!! They had a sign that said due to a staffing situation that they wouldn't be open until 5pm, so we were coming back later and lost track of time and got there at like 8:01pm and 2 people yelled and said, WE CLOSED AT 8PM, I'M SORRY BUT WE CAN'T TAKE YOUR ORDER!! They were really rude. Bad choice girls, bad choice.
