They offer a variety of sandwiches, soups, pastries, cakes, and a selection of local cheeses including the famous Isle of Mull cheddar. Loved the bagel here & the coffee. Just what you need. A huge variety of pies and bakes as well on offer! Great location if you are visiting Tobermory. Affordable pricing. Only criticism is we wished they did link sausage!

What an amazing find in Tobermory. We were looking to find somewhere to eat for lunch and came across the Tobermory Bakery and Tea Room. Spoiled for choice with all the filled rolls, toasties, pies and quiches. We had a chicken, haggis and bacon pie and also a prawn Marie Rose filled roll. Both were amazing and tasty. The service was fantastic from the team. Everyone was so friendly. We had to do our cakes to take away as we were so full from lunch and they were a welcome treat after our little drive around Mull. Would highly recommend.
Jennifer H — Google review
Popped in today for lunch. Enjoyed a really delicious Glengorm steak pie. Plenty of good quality steak filling. Highly recommend that you try these. Staff are friendly and helpful. A really nice wee place with plenty to choose from the fresh bakes.
Linda P — Google review
A variety of food offerings, in addition to coffee and tea. Small space can get crowded when the ferry disgorges large number of tourists. Was able to get a table and appreciated the cozy, homey atmosphere.
Martin D — Google review
Dont go if you have an allergy! Visited today and after trying a chicken leek and ham pie we realised it was a mushroom pie which i am allergic to. I went back and got zero apology but a replacement. Then realised they had given us another mushroom pie. I went back for a refund. I tried to speak to them to say how serious allergies are and all she said was "im not the manager" no apology and a horrible attitude. Avoid

Great Bakery. Nice bread, pie’s and coffee!
Robert J — Google review
The coffee was good and the cakes we excellent - chocolate tiffin and bakewell slice. Best of all, though, were the quiches - best I've ever eaten.
Marcus M — Google review
I got the soup and sandwich combo, which came out to be a little over £6. Food portions were just right (I'm too used to being overly full from American portions). The soup was really rich and flavorful, and the cheese in the toastie was really stretchy. I figured if I'm in the UK, I might as well try haggis AND blood pudding - I was not disappointed. They went well in the grilled cheese sandwich, and the acidity in salad that came with it cut through the richness. We got our food really late though, but maybe it was because the waitress was new. Overall, food was tasty, and it's a nice place to sit and chat.

Chocolate shop
Jann's Cakes is a charming cafe and tea shop located in Dunvegan, known for its exquisite handmade organic cakes and chocolates. The menu features an array of imaginative lunch options, including Scottish goat prepared in West Indian style, as well as soups and toasties. Situated on the main road opposite Giant MacAskills Museum, Jann's Cakes has garnered praise for its delectable baked goods made with love and passion.
So imagine, after having eaten Fish 'n Chips you walk towards your car. And you'll see a shop named Jann's Cakes. Only takeaway. You get curious and decide to enter this small shop. And then, be amazed and wowed. Two very friendly people behind the counter. Serving you with passion, kindness, humor and a big smile. For such a small shop they have a lot of choice. Sweet and savory. We ordered two lemon cakes. And venison casserole with rice. They asked and double checked whether we liked to have freshly whipped cream with the cake. And whether the amount of rice is enough for 2 tall guys like us. The shop is only takeaway. The cake was delicious. The casserole is in our fridge and will be our meal for tomorrow.
Bas H — Google review
Wonderful little place with a surprisingly large selection of baked goods, chocolates, coffee, and hot food. We decided on the venison casserole which was delicious and tender. We also got a cookie and a caramel chocolate frangipane tart type thing with fresh cream. Both were amazing. I assume we spoke to the owners whilst there and they were both very friendly and helpful. I would recommend stopping in! We are definitely going to pop back for some Jamaican curry. ☺️
Ashley — Google review
Amazing massive cakes and chocolates! Loved the vibe as soon as we got in, including the Caribbean music 😍 and very important: NO ICING! Yaaay We’re planning to go back for chowder and more cakes while we’re on the Isle. Luckily, we found this gem early on in our trip!
Patricia R — Google review
So glad we stumbled upon Janns cakes when driving through Dunvegan! We had the casserole, coffees & of course had to try the baked goods- the Lemon cake was to die for!!! Best Lemon cake I’ve ever had. We also had the blueberry lemon cake which was also equally delicious! We also had to sample the chocolate made with honey and whisky.. everything we tasted was worth the calories! I love supporting local businesses, especially when the owners are so friendly and welcoming. Next trip out to Skye, we will be returning to this little gem!
Jamie R — Google review
Run by a lovely pair who clearly pour love and care into their hand-made cakes. I recommend stopping by here for some of their delicious cakes. They had a brilliant selection, with organic options too. The price reflects the quality, so dont let that put you off. The cherry bakewell tart was awesome! Brillaint bakery, would thoroughly recommend.
Jon B — Google review
Forget about Dunvegan Castle, Jann's Cakes is why you should visit Dunvegan. The place is tiny but clearly full of love and very delicious food. We came here for a nice slice of cake and we were not disappointed. Yes, the slices may seem a bit more on the expensive side but you get a piece so big that you might as well have it instead of a normal lunch. Also, you don't just get a slice. It's also nicely decorated with some fruits (strawberries and blackberries), some sauce and whipped cream (if you asked for that). I also had a taste of one of the truffels and it was one of the best truffels I've ever tasted. We took 2 pieces of fudge with us to go and they too taste magnificent. I'll definitely be returning here one day. Honestly, the worst thing about this place is that you can't taste everything. Except maybe if you stay there a few days and have enough money to spend. So Jann, thank you for baking those delicious treats.
Eva — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Came to this town during winter and unfortunately most shops were closed except Jann’s Cakes. We got a pie as well as a toastie, and it was real good! Service was also so pleasant and kind, and we’re glad we got to try some small bites from this town.
P — Google review
Cakes are DELICIOUS! Slices are huge and they’re well worth the money! Both people running the shop were also lovely! 10/10 would recommend.

Tobermory Chocolate is a unique cafe and farm shop located at The Glass Barn, SGRIOB-RUADH. They offer a variety of homemade chocolates, including hot chocolate and mocha served in the cafe, as well as a selection of handcrafted chocolates available for purchase. In addition to their chocolate offerings, the shop also features an array of home decor and souvenirs.
Great little place to sit down after a full day of exploring Mull. They do their own chocolate in house so if you're in the cafe, definitely get the hot choc or a mocha, just delicious! They also have a shop full of wonderful home made chocolates, in gift boxes or you can pick your own selection. The gift shop also has some really nice things to pick up as home decor or souvenirs.
Max H — Google review
Really good chocolate. I did the pick your own chocolate thing so I got to try a few different ones. Ice cream was a bit of an expensive let down. I heard someone say it was the best ice cream they'd ever had so I had to try it. Definitely get your ice cream from the pink building across the street.
Taylor F — Google review
Beautiful chocolate, great coffee and wonderful service. Nice selection to pick from if looking for a nice treat or holiday gifts to take back home (chocolate shaped like sheep and fish). Dog friendly.
Alice W — Google review
Beautiful, tranquil and friendly island. Plenty to see and do even out of summer season. Western Isles Hotel in Tobermory a special place to stay - excellent staff, rooms and meals.
Paul M — Google review
Very friendly people and great chocolate. Shop sells more than just chocolate
Patrick C — Google review
Great little place to go for a bite to eat and drink, also has little gifts and lovely chocolate too.
Joanne M — Google review
Bought some of the choose your own chocolates and they were really delicious!
Rachel D — Google review
Good place to call for a coffee and a sit down I don’t agree with a previous reviewers comments about the coffee. It’s fine, so much so we called again at the end of our day exploring Tobermory . There is a clean loo and 6 or 7 tables. Half of the premises is a shop that sells souvenirs and a selection of home made chocolates. These are very nice but a bit pricey but fine as treat if you are on your holidays.

Located in a charming pink building along the seafront of Tobermory's main street, Isle of Mull Ice Cream offers a delightful selection of handmade ice creams in unique flavors. The dairy used in their ice cream comes from Sgriob-ruadh Farm, the island's only dairy farm and producer of Isle of Mull Cheese. By sourcing quality local ingredients, they create seasonal flavors that capture the essence of Mull.
Tastiest whiskey marmalade and honeycomb ice cream we had during our road trip through the highlands! A bit on the expensive side but you do get big scoops and it’s homemade with milk that comes from the Isle of Mull Cheese and Spirit farm so the quality is amazing! Do expect a queue as it’s one of the most famous spots on Mull but the staff is super quick and tbh it’s totally worth it!! You should definitely give it a try!!
Marianna G — Google review
Had one of the nicest Mint Choc Chip ice creams here. Nice surroundings to enjoy as well.
Chris B — Google review
Absolutely delicious ice cream! The taste is truly natural and there are both classic and untypical flavours to try - all of them fantastic!
Zofia M — Google review
Lovely little ice cream place with a great selection of interesting flavours. I had a dark chocolate ginger cheesecake cone - it was delicious, unique and excellent quality. Reasonable prices too. Many comments/reviews about high prices but I disagree, you can’t get good quality goods from a small business where product is made on site for less than the prices here (I can’t remember but think it was £3.50 single scoop)
Adele H — Google review
Amazing ice cream shop. The flavours are delicious, prices are fair and flavours change from time to time. An amazing shop to visit on a hot day. My go to spot for ice cream here~
Lada B — Google review
Delicious ice cream at a decent price. I never thought of having a sour cherry flavour in ice cream but it went great with the fragments of dark chocolate :-) Yummy salted caramel, too, says my daughter.
Hugh G — Google review
Had 2 flavours myself and both stunning, family tried other flavours also extremely good. Would definitely return for more next time we are in Tobermory!

Can't go wrong with some delicious ice cream. A few unique flavours, the raspberry ruffle was really nice and the honeycomb smooth as you like. Would return to try some more flavours when back on Mull.

Absolutely delicious garlic prawns and flat bread. Succulent prawns in a lovely garlicky, chilli butter. Flat bread tasted good too. Partner chose bbq bacon cheeseburger- again really tasty with plenty of fries and onion rings in a light batter. Great value for money and a great view too!

Decent coffee and good choice of large portion meals. Not amazing but will certainly fill you up and for a reasonable price. Would return.

The food was quite good. They even had a vegan spinach and falafel burger (pictured) and some vegan dessert options. Only downside was the waiting time due to it being one of the few places open for lunch on the island.
Irene M — Google review
Lovely little shop with friendly staff. Nice that you can see into the kitchen where they make the yummy toffee. Delicious lunches too. I recommend the hot smoked salmon!

A small hut no toilets in the premises but some up the road . Maybe 5 or 6 tables was busy . Seemed staff were 2 one inside the kitchen the other in the front then in the back . Apologies given for a delay which was fair enough but just felt we wernt meant to be there as we were like oh no not another customer . Drinks were luke warm . Cakes nice and moist but my cake just tasted of cake plain not coffee and walnut but it was moist so that was a plus . Maybe staff were busy having a bad day . This place could be a gem if it was more positive I mean at the end of the day customers pay the wages .

Nestled in the charming town of Portree, The wee Isle of Skye Ice Cream Shop is a delightful stop for anyone visiting this picturesque part of Scotland. This quaint shop not only serves an array of mouthwatering ice cream flavors—like banoffee and salted caramel—but also welcomes furry friends with open arms. Dogs are treated to complimentary cups of doggy ice cream, making it a perfect spot for pet owners on warm days.
Not only was the ice cream delicious (I had the banoffee) They allowed me in with my 2 dogs so I could choose which flavour and cone I wanted. There is a sign in the door saying 'dogs welcome'. When they saw the dogs, they then gave me a complimentary cup of doggy ice cream for each of them with a little doggy biscuit. It was so lovely of them, particularly as it was a warm day. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed their treat, as I did mine. Thank you to you all at The Original Isle of Skye Ice Cream Shop :)

Loved the white chocolate &hazelnut scoop. Would definitely come back when in portree again. Friendly staff and cute store. A bit pricey compared to Italian ice-cream tho. But the overall experience was satisfying
Carina P — Google review
Very delicious ice-cream, lovely flavours and great textured silky ice-cream, we had a plain waffle cone and salted caramel and white chocolate/hazelnut, and a sprinkle waffle cone with brambleberry/white choc chip and white chocolate/hazelnut. Could not have been happier, is a must visit in Portree. There were other things on offer, ice-cream sammiches and such, but we just head tunnel vision for the cones and scoops. The staff that worked there could not have been nicer and were very kind to our beloved dog Pete and he got a little doggy portion of ice-cream for being a good boy.

Got the recommended raspberry honey and oat ice cream 🍦Very thick milk flavor. Definitely 10/10😋
