Biscottificio Artigiano Innocenti is a long-standing, family-run patisserie located in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere. This bakery has been operated by four generations of women in the Innocenti family and is renowned for selling some of the best biscotti in Rome. The cookies are authentically Italian, with a crisp and light texture meant for dipping in tea or enjoying at breakfast.
Great little cookies and treats! Gentlemen working was happy to tell us about them all and spoke great English. Got a bag of about 2 fistfuls for 7 USD
Patrick M — Google review
The best cookie bakery in the city. Plus, the nice lady gave me some free cookies because I complimented her yellow oven. It’s a beautiful oven (and delicious cookies).
Bob — Google review
If you want to remember your childhood and your mother's/grandmother's cookies, then this is the perfect place! Delicious and varied cookies, too bad they didn't display the name of each one, to make it easier when ordering (for us tourists). A few blocks away we discovered another bakery, where they serve other types of Italian cookies (cannoli, maritozzo, tiramisu).
Isabella R — Google review
We came here during a local food tour and sampled several biscotti, each delicious and delightful
Abdullah — Google review
Good experience…..I tried 10 different types of biscuits…..each one with a very distinctive taste….also price very fair (4-5 EUR).
Manucsn — Google review
Food weighed per KG rather than individual pricing makes buying from here nice and easy. The biscotti that they sell are delicious, I would highly recommend trying one of each of what they sell. It is not going to cost a lot as they are mostly small bites. We bought from here then had the pleasure of having more from our Eating Europe Rome food tour.
Mitchell S — Google review
The baked goods are fresh and delicious. I would walk here every morning when in rome and pick up my cornetos, or whatever other baked goods, I want it and just buy my cappuccino from a nice bar. The cornetos from the bars are never fresh. But this place is just amazing. It is worth the walk.

Great family bakery in Trestavare. Bought a variety of cookies and they were all delicious. Tried to get some more to bring back to US, but they had already closed. Don't miss this place!

Regoli Pasticceria is a century-old, family-owned bakery located in Esquilino Rome. The shop features arched ceilings and is renowned for its classic creme-based pastries and tarts. Locals flock to Regoli at all times of the day, particularly on weekends, to indulge in their mouth-watering pastries, with the maritozzo being a standout delicacy.
An oasis when I am waiting for my hotel manager in a super hot summer. Their Cannolo Siciliano is superb. Its wrap is crispy. The cream is not too sweet. The cream also offers a bit crunchy texture as there are some chocolate chips scattered inside. The chopped pistachios are also fresh. Their coffee fizz passion also offers a surprise in the way that it is refreshingly sour and sweet without compromising the flavour of coffee. Their ice cappuccino caramello salato also strikes a good balance between coffee, milk and salted caramel. I also tried their seafood spaghetti. Their seafood is very fresh. Their spaghetti is al dente but can be a bit soft. Their sauce is just fit. Not too salty. After all, nice pastry and summer's special from this pastry cafe. Also a delightfully delicious lunch from this cafe. The place is clean. The sunroom is spacious. The attendants are friendly and diligent. A place I would visit again when I come to Rome next time.
Bryan C — Google review
This is truly the best maritozzo in Rome. The bun is light, the cream has a lemon zest that balances everything beautifully, and the dessert isn’t overly sweet, which I see as a huge plus. In addition, the wild berry pâtissier was excellent, and I also tasted the cake with vanilla cream and chocolate crisps — it was a real celebration.
מירית ע — Google review
If you also like Italian cream buns, then you absolutely cannot miss this bakery. In addition to being able to choose large or small cream buns, it also offers a variety of different styles of pastries made with cream and ordinary bread. In addition, the shop is actually composed of a main bakery and a coffee shop. If you only want cream buns, you can go directly to the coffee shop to place an order and buy the coffee you want. But if you want to take away or choose other styles of pastries, you can only buy them in the bakery first and then go to the coffee shop to choose your favorite coffee. In short, this is also a must-try bakery in Rome.
Zen C — Google review
Stopped at Regoli Pasticceria to try the Maritozzi, and it was definitely worth the short wait in line. Service was quick and friendly, and the pastry was fresh, fluffy, and delicious. There are plenty of other tempting options in the bakery too. Would definitely come back and recommend- so tasty!
T R — Google review
Worth the visit. Great service. Delicious pastries. This spot was a 10min walk from my hotel and I stumbled into it one morning looking for a caffe. Ended up eating a cannoli and taking some pastries to go. The Sfogliatella was delicious, it had 2 different types of stuffing, the main being the traditional style semolina creamed mixture as well as a cannoli ricotta style. The ricotta style didn’t not have the same taste as you would except, it was creamer. Different from what I am use to but delicious!
Tom T — Google review
This was my first time trying the famous marritozzo from Regoli, and it didn’t disappoint. The brioche bun was very airy and fluffy, with a slight lemon zest to it, which I enjoyed. The whipped cream was also very light and delicious, as it wasn’t too sweet. I wouldn’t go out of the way, if you’re only in Rome for a short visit, but do recommend if you’re nearby the establishment.
Joshua A — Google review
The fagottini di ricotta is (no exaggeration) the best pastry I’ve had in my life! Highly recommend that one, and the wild strawberry tart is very good too. The maritozzi and cannoli were just okay in my opinion, but they seem to be really popular. Went here 2 days in a row, once at 8am and another at 10am. There was no queue at 8am but at 10am I had to wait around half an hour, so definitely try to go early.
Kristina B — Google review
Delicious and beautiful pastries, be prepared to wait in line and be ready to point if you don't know Italian. They were very helpful and kind to us even with a language barrier, the cream puff pastries were to die for, and the fruit tart was super fresh. Would certainly come back!!

Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato, located in Roma Via degli Orfani near the Pantheon, is a must-visit spot. Despite being a chain, it lives up to its hype with delicious ice cream and an impressive collection of chocolates. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to accommodating allergies. While the range of flavors could be broader, the moderate prices and excellent location make it worth visiting multiple times.
I absolutely loved this gelato shop! The flavors are authentic, creamy, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. I tried the pistachio and berry ones—both were amazing. The place is cozy, clean, and the staff is super friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more flavors. Highly recommended!
Jose L — Google review
Ice cream was very delicious, they have very original flavour. My favourite was straticiella (hope I could write it correct) Chocolate were also delicious, the one with biscuits and the one with almond were our favourites
Kamil A — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a wonderful experience at Venchi! Francesca helped me during my visit, and she was absolutely amazing. She greeted me with a warm smile, was incredibly friendly, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Her customer service went above and beyond — she was patient, helpful, and genuinely cared about making sure I found the perfect flavor. Not only was the gelato delicious, but the service from Francesca made it even better. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!
M. D — Google review
This is some of the best gelato in Rome but it is quite pricey in comparison to some equally good and less popular gelaterias! We tried the pistachio (the best of the flavours we tried), vanilla, fig (also great) and coffee. One thing you have to try is getting your cone coated in melted chocolate and dipped in crunchy nougatine pieces before they add the gelato - absolutely delicious! Their chocolate, however, is second to none. Truly the best quality and an amazing range of flavours and varieties. I recommend anything they make with pistachio, the golden caramel flavour and the white chocolate with salted nuts.
Jules D — Google review
The best ice cream ever! Their seasonal flavors, like olive oil and ricotta cheese, are absolutely amazing. This is my favorite ice cream shop!
NMAS — Google review
Venchi Pantheon is a delightful chocolate and gelato shop located just a few steps behind the Pantheon. The gelato flavors truly explode in your mouth, leaving you wanting more. It was my first time trying olive oil gelato, and I can assure you it was absolutely amazing. If you’re visiting Rome, it’s definitely worth stopping by!
Faly A — Google review
Must try their crepe and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is thick, creamy and dark. The gelato is unmissable. Reasonably priced compared to local gelaterias
Roli S — Google review
Tasty and creamy? That’s what you get at Venchi. Their gelato was so soft to the taste and flavourful. And their chocolate section was also very good looking

Pompi is a renowned self-serve cafe, pastry shop, and ice-cream parlor in Rome that has gained citywide acclaim for its exceptional tiramisu. The 55-year-old establishment proudly dubs itself "il Regno del Tiramisu" (the kingdom of tiramisu), and it lives up to this title with its exquisite rendition of the classic dessert.
Outstanding Tiramisu both here and the venue near the Spanish steps. The best in Rome for Classico. No questions. Soft and well coffee'd sponge with creamy layers above and the bonus crunch of chunks of chocolates sprinkled on top as you leave. What more could you want from a pudding! The ice-cream is also fabulous too. 5 euros, take my money please.
Duncan M — Google review
We tried 4 items: Tiramisu Classique, Mont Blanc, Cannoli, and café crema. 1. Tiramisu was good, classic. 2. Mont Blanc was the worst I've had in this life time. This should not be sold, it is disgraceful how bad it was. 3. Cannoli was not good. The filling flavor was off and it was poorly filled. Only the ends had ricotta, the entire center was empty. 4. The café crema was too sweet, not enjoyable. In the 14 days I've been in Italy, I've been in Venice, Florence, Chianti, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Rome. This place was the worst and the only place I felt like my money was wasted. Do not go here.
Frankie K — Google review
We come here with friends sometimes, mostly for the tiramisu. Even though you can find better tiramisu in Rome, this location has a nice atmosphere and it’s a good place to sit. The classic tiramisu is good enough and well-balanced. We also tried the gelato once, but it felt too touristy and colorful, not really my taste. Service is average. They ask for payment at the table before the dessert arrives. We ordered tea with it, which went really well. Parking is a big problem around here, since it’s close to Re di Roma square and the area is always busy. Still, it’s a nice spot to meet up and chat and don’t expect high quality
Mojtaba R — Google review
Definitely recommend to visit Pompi in via Albalonga! This location is a sit-down place with service. We visited twice during our short stay in Rome. The selection of cakes is great and everything we tried tasted amazing. The staff was very friendly and even remembered us :)
Zuzana Š — Google review
Some staff are nice but the rest are not..typical italian customer service. Luckily their tiramisu is above good, otherwise nothing special here. The ambience is okay.
John W — Google review
The tiramisu is refreshing and fluffy, croissants are one of the best I've had. The waiters are nice and welcoming, one of them even saved our water bottle when we forgot it so he could give it back to us tomorrow. They are patient and supportive if you try and practice speaking italian with them, especially the guys that work behind the bar!
Milica N — Google review
Excellent Tiramisu, Pannacotta and service Quality. The staff speak some English too. Will go back there.
Boh T — Google review
They have different tastes of tiramisu I tried the the pistachio one. It was good and it was a new taste for me. I liked it, but it wasn’t something that I say I will come to have that one again. But I think it worth trying. The staff were super friendly and professional The cafeteria itself looks good and it’s clean

Nestled in a quaint, unmarked street near Piazza San Cosimato, Le Levain Roma is a hidden gem for those craving an authentic bakery experience in the heart of Rome. Founded by chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi, who honed his skills at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie in Lyon and trained with renowned chocolatier Jean-Philippe Darcis in Belgium, this artisanal patisserie beautifully marries French baking techniques with Southern Italian culinary traditions.
The olive bread has got to be one of the best/tastiest breads I’ve ever eaten - and I love bread! Soft, fluffy and crunchy in all the right places and filled with loads of nice olives. Baked fresh on site this morning as was still warm when we picked it up. It’s more expensive than your usual breads at €5 for half/€10 for a whole loaf, but well worth it I think, delicious! The pastries looked great too, so I’ll be coming back to try those another time!
Jakey E — Google review
It was really crowded and they have very few tables. But its all worth the wait, well prepared ans tastes so good. Only issue is that, for coffees its vending machine. Service was quick and the staff was really friendly.
Ihsan — Google review
Staff was super nice and spoke excellent English, service was great and it wasn’t noisy and we were able to take a seat inside. We ordered a cinnamon roll and a pain au chocolate. Both were amazing, and fairly cheap for their quality (both €1,80). To drink we had a water, which was nicely cooled, and a biologically pressed pear juice, which is definitely worth trying despite the price tag (€4,80). This place is worth going to!
Jaja — Google review
Very tasty pastry and sandwiches. Perfect for a breakfast. Mini pizza were our favourites and croissants but everything we tried was just great. We ate here in every morning durring our stay in Trastevere. ❤️🩵🩷
Iulia P — Google review
French bakery in Rome. The place is not to big, but maybe just enough for the sitting area. The breads were delicious as we expect from French bakery.
Hendy G — Google review
Kouign Amann was really buttery and layered, enjoyed it a lot while eating it. Vegan sandwich was nice to but the bread was too rough for a “baguette”. Ambiance is nice but PACKED. Better to grab some coffee and pastry and walk around :) Ps: surprised that they do not have espresso machine and let you grand from a coffee machine, was surprisingly tasty tho.
Emir Ç — Google review
After glowing reviews of there quiche. I ordered both florantine and veggitable. Maybe vegetables are out of season this early in june but I received an egg and pea quiche. Not exactly bad just not the same veggie quiche that got the rave reviews! Very disappointed. I ordered many other things. They all look consistent with the photos mostly. Some were much smaller and some larger.

Mr. 100 Tiramisù is a charming spot in Rome that lives up to its name by offering an impressive selection of 100 different flavors of tiramisu. Visitors can indulge in this classic Italian dessert while also enjoying cured meats, cheese, and wine in a cozy setting.
Very good Tiramisu I choose: Top: no. 28 apple, caramel and lemon Second I liked: raspberry, white chocolate and amaretto And the third was with kinder Bueno....also liked but to sweet for me. The service is very good you pay 6 euro/piece if you choose to eat at the table and 5 euro if you take away. No coperta included.

A nice spot for Tiramisu lovers in the city. As the name suggests, they offer 100 different types of tiramisu, from the classic to creative and unique flavors. We tried the traditional version along with one of their recommended options with pistachio both were absolutely delicious. The service was fairly quick, and overall it was a great experience. The only downside is that they don’t serve coffee, which would have made the experience perfect. Still, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy one of Italy’s most iconic desserts in many exciting variations.
Abdulkarim A — Google review
Great wine, cold cuts and the idea of 100 tiramisu is great. Massive queue for the take away but very easy to get inside and eat in. We just tried the classic tiramisu which was extremely fresh and tasty. Will return to try more!
Julia L — Google review
100 tiramisù flavors sounds like an attempt to the tiramisù but also like a fun experience so I went for the fun of it but kinda expecting a tourist trap. I must say the ones we ordered were really good and great portions. The staff was attentive and kind. They had tables reserved to the cheese and wine tastings but let us sit there so we wouldn’t wait too long. I would recommend this place.
Beatriz S — Google review
This was one of my favorite dessert places to visit while in Rome. It was very fun to try some different flavors and variations of the traditional tiramisu. I found the dark chocolate/orange was a very good combination along with the dark chocolate/amarena/hazelnut combo. Saw that people were commenting that the tiramisu was sweet, so I went for combos that were not too high on the “sweetness scale”. There was usually a line but the queue went pretty quickly and I never had to wait too long. The staff were also very nice.
Rakel B — Google review
This was good. I got their new autumn special with the Biscoff. At first bite it was too sweet, but actually the flavors are well-balanced. In the outdoor seating area there was a girl smoking. Maybe it’s legal in Rome, but that kinda ruined the experience a little.
Mary — Google review
It is a nice place to get a little sweet for a cheap price. The service is good and fast, although you have to call the waiters all the time you need something (they are not deliberatery come to serve you). The tiramisu is ok, and it has many flavours that you can choose from.
Leandro C — Google review
Personally think this was overhyped. The queue was 15-20 mins long. I got a 46 and my wife got the 36. It was ok but nothing amazing. The wife really liked it. Depends on your preferences. If your short on time I would say you can give this a miss. It was 5 euros for one.

Il Maritozzo Rosso, located in Trastevere, offers a delightful Sunday brunch experience with an a la carte menu featuring a variety of dishes such as Benedict Maritozzo, omelettes, pancakes with maple syrup, vegetable woks, carrot cakes, and cheesecakes. Of course, the classic maritozzo with whipped cream is also available. The restaurant's unique take on traditional maritozzo includes flavorful pulled pork and perfect amatriciano and polpettone options.
I was initially hesitant about deviating from the traditional panna-filled maritozzo, but Il Maritozzo Rosso completely won me over. The pulled pork is flavorful, the amatriciano is perfection, and the polpettone is a timeless classic. The carbonara, while good, didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. The maritamisu was a delightful end to the meal. A word of advice: opt for the ‘smaller’ maritozzo versions—they’re about 2/3 the size but pack nearly the same punch in terms of fillings. Highly recommend for a twist on tradition!
Darryll W — Google review
Everything was absolutely amazing! The Carbonara was hands down the best we've ever had—just like Vincenzo Prosperi (from Vincenzo's Plate) promised. 😁💜 The Maritozzi were on another level 🤤! We tried the one with codfish, hummus, and radish, as well as the eggplant parmigiana Maritozzo—both were incredible. Our only suggestion to enhance the experience would be to have more staff attending the tables. With just three people covering the dining area, terrace, and billing on a busy Friday night, it felt a bit understaffed. Just to be clear, they were doing their best—the issue stemmed from management.
Cátia M — Google review
Came here for lunch which was a great pick! Meatballs were good tho small. Cacio e pepe was amazing a must have. Carbanara was also a must have. Price point to food portion a little off but quality does make up for it.

This place is amazing! We had two delicious pasta dishes. At first there was some mix up with our order, but Nicola fixed it very quickly. The staff is friendly, they let us enter and order before they opened since they saw us waiting. The food was incredible. Highly recommended!

It’s a great place to have a breakfast near Termini train station! For cappuccino (1,3€), hot tea (1,5€), two panini with bresaola (5€) and delicious big pistachio croissant (1,5€) we paid 14,3€. Very tasty coffee and food, I truly recommend this place to visit ❤️💯

Little cafe with outdoor seating. They have the menu in Italian and English. Coffee, pastries, sandwiches etc for sale. Very nice and reasonably priced. At time of writing a cappuccino is €1.50 and their specialty croissants are also €1.50, including the pistachio variety which is nearly as good as the one near the Trevi fountain but half the price! Quiet area and very close to the Vittorio Emanuele metro station. I greatly recommend this cafe.

The area is very crowded and noisy. They don’t have many alternative milk options (only soy). I got an Americano, croissant, and a lemon cake…everything was 5/10. The staff is very very nice tho.

Chocolate factory
Nestled just off Via Tiburtina, Said Since 1923 is a delightful chocolate haven that beckons all sweet-toothed travelers. Established in the vibrant San Lorenzo district of Rome, this charming spot began as a chocolate factory and has evolved into a beloved café and shop. As you stroll through its inviting space adorned with antique chocolate-making tools, you'll be captivated by the array of handmade chocolates on display.
this is a truly special place in rome. in my opinion part of what makes it special it’s its somewhat hidden location in one of rome’s most versatile yet punk neighborhoods, san lorenzo. the space, with a mixture of the old industrial looking chocolate factory bits and the almost bohemian and elegant atmosphere it’s very intimate which i love. i’ve been here multiple times both for dinner and aperitivo and i like that they have a seasonal menu, so you can always try something new. their food concept is quite unique and untraditional but with that homemade touch. i also can’t forget to mention that the waiters are really friendly

Beautiful store/cafe with nice history to it. Went in to get some chocolates and ended up sitting in for a trio chocolate cappuccino which was amazing such a cool experience and the coffee and chocolate itself was very tasty. The chocolatier section was very good a lovely lady served us and was kind enough to explain what each chocolate was, there was a large variety of many flavours to choose from. Very reasonable pricing all around. Definitely make this a place to visit if you're in the area!

My go-to spot in San Lorenzo neighborhood, this serene retreat is where I unwind with friends or enjoy a peaceful moment alone. The ambient lighting, soft music, and delightful chocolates create a truly relaxing experience. Favorite spot for chocolate lovers 🍫

Warm ambiance, friendly and knowledgeable people with the star of the place...the chocolate! What an amazing place. There are so many things to try, it'll make your head spin, but in a good way. High quality chocolate with creative approaches leaves you with a decadent sense of flavor. Must try. Must return if possible...a given. What a great experience in both service and taste!

Where do I even start with this post.. if you are in Rome and you love chocolate, please visit. The chocolate beverages are really beyond my expectations. The small dessert bites/ cake are ok, not the best. Took away a slice of chocolate cake not overly sweet so it was perfect. Service was excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive despite being busy. The place fills up rather quickly so be prepared to wait.

"I Dolci di Nonna Vincenza" is a family-run bakery in Rome that offers an authentic taste of Sicily. The bakery imports homegrown nuts and ingredients directly from Sicily, such as almonds and pistachios, to create their delicious treats. One must-try item is the Olivette di Sant Agata made with almonds, while those craving intense pistachio flavors can opt for the simple dry cake made with flour, eggs, honey, and pistachios.
A lovely place. A must if you wanna have some Sicilian pastries in Rome. I had a small cannolo with ricotta and a cake stuffed ricotta and powdered with a bit cinnamon. The flavors were very decadent and well balanced. The ricotta was delicate, not too sweet and the crust was crunchy and not too oily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They prices are a bit pricy but totally worth it!
Kassem M — Google review
There is something not quite right about the pistachio cannolo. The pastry that encases the filling curves in quickly from the middle, clearly too little pastry relative to the amount of filling, and the filling was very underwhelming - not quite sure how best to describe it but it was thin and not as creamy as past cannoli I’ve had - like very diluted ricotta cheese filling. It was also evident when some filling got onto the paper, you can see how translucent it is. True cannolo filling will be thick, and creamy, not translucent. Regretted getting the large one. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t come back again. But if you really want a cannolo in Rome, perhaps best to get a small one to sample first.
JH — Google review
We discovered this lovely little café near our hotel in Rome, and it quickly became our go-to breakfast spot every morning. The ricotta-filled cornetto was absolutely incredible. I still think about it and can’t wait to have it again on my next visit! We also enjoyed their cannoli and coffee, which were both really good. The staff were friendly, and the place had that cozy, local Italian charm 🤍
Sumie — Google review
A good try, they're most known for their cannoli, so we were set on ordering it. I never had a cannoli, so I was glad to give them a try here. They have a limited seating area but I was able to snag a free table. We got three small cannolis to share: ricotta, limone, and pistachio. We enjoyed the limone the most, followed by the ricotta. Overall, we enjoyed the cannolis here, glad I was able to get a table so that we can rest for a bit as we enjoyed the sweets. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Mark S — Google review
Whenever in Rome I always come to this little pastry shop, as I love cannoli and they have several sweets which are worth trying. You order at the counter, pay, and then you can sit in one of the two rooms they have. The place is not crowded with tables, so you can relax for a bit without being bothered. Their coffee is ok, while the cannolis were delicious. I had two small ones, one with orange and the other one with lemon cream. Crispy, tangy and with much filling. Staff were very friendly and pleasant, prices quite honest. Overall a great find.

Ciuri Ciuri is a Sicilian pasticceria and gelateria located in the heart of Rome. Since its opening in 2007, it has become a popular spot for those seeking authentic Sicilian treats. The highlight of this establishment is its cannoli, which are freshly filled with sweetened ricotta just before serving, ensuring a light and crisp pastry shell.
Ciuri Ciuri was a great spot to stop for a delicious treat and a coffee. Their cannoli was absolutely delicious—crispy shell and a creamy, flavorful filling that was just perfect. The service was fantastic as well, making for a very pleasant experience. If you're looking for a great coffee and an amazing cannoli, this is the place to go!

We were looking for something light for lunch and the name caught our 👁️. They serve pastries, coffee (of course) and gelato too. The food all looked delicious and we wanted to try more but there is a limit to the tummy space. The place is a bit tight and really needs some squeezing around. But we has a good lunch nonetheless .

WORST FOOD AND SERVICE IN ROME! The food was really bad and they took 25 minutes to bring their "american food" which the juice was not fresh AT ALL, the bacon was very disgusting and they put a reall tiny portion of scra eggs. I pay 18€ for nothing! Never go there!
Ananda H — Google review
Everything we had there was genuinely disgusting, pizza, and ice cream. Fries are okay. They mistake my order and bring me a small beer instead of a pint It's been fixed by bringing me the same beer diluted with water. Yeah, I've noticed the colour has changed. It tastes pretty okay tho. I wasn't that brave enough to try that whipped cream they had.

Try other places on this street. Stopped for a cannoli and was charged maximum price. There are three sizes and prices on the menu and we were not offered the options. Flavor was ok but nothing special. Wish I looked up reviews before stopping.

The café had a relatively clean space, and the pastries—especially the croissants and doughnuts—were decent. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or unfriendly; just average. Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere, Il Maritozzaro has been a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike since 1960. This no-frills café is dedicated to serving up some of the finest maritozzi in Rome—those delightful, fluffy buns that are often enjoyed as a breakfast treat. Each maritozzo is lovingly brushed with sugar syrup and generously filled with freshly whipped cream, creating an irresistible combination that will have you coming back for more.
Best place in Rome for sweets, the viennoiseries were so good! Maritozzo of course is good, even if it’s just a stuffed chantilly brioche. And the sfogliattella was so crunchy and tasty. I recommend going here, even if it’s not city center, it’s so worth it and the people are very nice. Almost did a detour to come back but we were so late for our train haha

Typical Italian place for a coffee and some pastries (or, as they call it - breakfast 😁), most of them are sweet, but a few savory options are also available. Quick service, no English, but we understood each other quite nicely 👍🏻 a few tables outside, to enjoy the sun while having a coffee and a bite (no nice views, as it's a neighbourhood cafe, but it's ok)

Pasticceria Boccione, also known as Il Forno del Ghetto, is a compact kosher bakery located in Rome's Jewish Ghetto.
I go here every time I’m in Rome multiple times each visit. If you time it lucky you will be able to enjoy the Jewish pizza whilst it is still warm and fresh out of the oven. This has only happened to me once unfortunately but it is so good anyway I keep going back. The candied fruit in the Jewish pizza is just wonderful and it is so stuffed with fruit pieces and almonds. The ricotta and cherry torte is nice also. The older ladies can be a bit curt like most of the ladies serving in every establishment in Rome but mostly they are friendly enough.
Dee — Google review
Try the ricotta sour cherry tart if you're in the area. Even though it's sold by weight, the lady at the counter wouldn't cut anything smaller than what is pictured below and it came out to around 5 euros. It sounds and looks heavy, but the tart is actually quite light and not too sweet. The fluffy, rich, and slightly sweet ricotta is balanced out by the sour cherry base. There are a couple public benches across the street to sit on while enjoying your treat which is a nice bonus!
M L — Google review
Great place for a sweet treat. Sold by the weight, an average slices of about €4. Don't worry if they have sold out of ricotta and cherry. The other offerings are great too!
James M — Google review
Essential stop in Rome for traditional Jewish bakes. Cherry Ricotta Tart is the most popular here but the Pizza Ebraica and Soft Almond Amaretti deserve more praise. If you catch the Pizza Ebraica warm from the oven (usually on Friday mornings) you hit the jackpot. The nonnas behind the counter are understandably a little curt because of language barriers but still very welcoming. Be polite, ask or point to what you want, and don’t linger too long. Go earlier in the day when things are still fresh.
M — Google review
After 20 minutes waiting for ordering, we ordered two pieces of ricotta with cherry and chocolate, which is more delicious with cherry. They are so slow and the atmosphere was not that very kind and catchy. It is worth to try one. But I ate a better one somewhere else in Rome.
Farideh M — Google review
Arrived around 11:15 on a Friday. It’s best to get here early as there was a que down the road when I had left also they run out of food later on the day. On a Friday they close early and aren’t open on Saturday engaging Sabbath. One downside they had some burnt ‘pizza’ I wasn’t going to buy it but the old lady went to the back and brought out a freshly baked one that wasn’t burnt and the younger lady started telling her off for it saying they had to sell the burnt ones first… Other than this good experience and lovely food. The shop is very small and no outdoor seating.

Alexandra Ș — Google review
This was by FAR the best gelato I had my entire trip! And as someone gluten free, having a super tasty gluten free cone made it all the better. The pistachio and straciatella were super creamy and perfectly flavored. I do wish the pistachio had been a bit stronger, I found it to be a little mild, but it was still incredible. The employees were all very friendly. They always ask if you want whipped cream on top too! Which I did not experience at any other gelato shop. Overall, PLEASE make your way here if you’re staying in Rome, gluten free or not. I wish I could take it back to America with me!
Lexi B — Google review
Creative flavors, solid quality—perfect if you’re okay with a quick in-and-out experience! 👍 Stopped by this Fatamorgana location after an evening exploring Trastevere and found out they’re known for their inventive flavors—definitely worth a taste 😋 The shop was crowded and the pace felt rushed, but being able to sample a few flavors while waiting in line made the choice easier (and fun) 🤗 Fatamorgana is a chain with multiple locations across Rome. While I usually prefer smaller, one-off gelaterias, the quality here still stood out. Note: There’s no seating inside, so it’s a true grab-and-go spot. We ended up enjoying ours while wandering the neighborhood before it melted ✨
Alexandra H — Google review
We visited a couple of times - flavors are great, there's a wide selection and the quality is high. The first time the service was efficient and friendly enough, the second time the woman serving us was surly and really stingy with the amount. For the price, it should be better. Picture is from the first visit - the second time we paid for a bigger size, and got less.

If it would be possible to give 10 stars I would. The flavors where out of this world! They where SO GOOD! Only negative point is that the portions are relatively small, but the price is also really fair compared to other places… so honestly… it’s still a MUST TRY if you’re in Rome.

Tiramisu Trastevere is a pastry shop specialized in preparing the Italian dessert Tiramisu, which is known for its unique and sweet taste. The shop has an option to customize your tiramisu topping, and it also prepares your order in front of you so that you can witness the process of creating this delicious dessert. The small size is already a good size, and the coffee is also very good.
Super delicious tiramisu, -especially the one with the pistachio-, made fresh right in front of you! The best I’ve had in Rome! A cute nice place without hours of waiting in line to get the what you came for. The girl who prepares it right in front of your eyes is really kind and friendly! The next day we came back she recognized us. :) Don’t miss this place if you are wondering around in Trastevere!!!
Anita T — Google review
Stepping into Merisù in Trastevere is an absolute treat for anyone who loves tiramisu. It's a small, cozy shop that feels like a little hidden gem. The concept is brilliant and so unique: they make the tiramisu fresh for you on the spot! You get to watch them layer the ingredients right in front of you, which is a fantastic part of the experience. However, while the idea is great, we found the tiramisu itself wasn't quite the best we've had. The coffee in particular was very strong, giving the overall dessert a bit of a bitter edge that, for our taste, overpowered the sweetness of the cream. While the traditional flavor is their classic, they also offer a variety of other creative options like pistachio and Nutella, which might be a better choice if you're looking for something less coffee-forward. Because of its popularity and small size, there can be a queue, but it moves quickly. You'll likely enjoy your tiramisu standing or on a nearby bench. It's a popular spot and definitely worth trying for the experience, but if you prefer a milder coffee flavor in your tiramisu, you might find it a bit too intense.
Shanit R — Google review
9.5/10 don’t be turned off by the marketing or hype. They make it clear it’s not traditional tiramisu so if you come looking for that you will not be happy. If you want some experimentation on a classic concept, you will be delighted. Made fresh, bright, clear flavors, much less sweet and generic than most of what you get. We had the pistachio flavor and loved it. Definitely recommend, although you should also go somewhere known for the quality of a classic, traditional version.

After dinner, we randomly discovered Tiramisù Merisù in Trastevere — and what a find! Even though it was already 21:38 and there was still a line, we decided to wait, and it was absolutely worth it. They offer a wide variety of tiramisu flavors alongside the traditional one, and each looks irresistible. The taste is simply amazing — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Definitely a must-try spot in Rome for any tiramisu lover!

This is the type of place you go day 1 of your trip and then come back days 2 and 3 because it was just that good! I tried the Nutella&oreo one and the classic. Both were delicious. the best ice cream in Rome that we ate! nice and kind shop girls! I don't know where else to write, but it seems the shopgirl gave me the wrong change, I would like to return these 5 euros, I don't know exactly whether it was right or not, she was so nice and we chatted, so that no one noticed now I think that she made a mistake and gave me an extra 5 euros, how can i return them to you?

My husband and I tried a ton of gelato during our time in Rome. This place was by far the best! I loved the Oreo and cheesecake, top 5 ice creams/gelatos I’ve ever eaten. My husband loved the strawberry, watermelon, peach, mango, etc. Pretty much any fruit flavor. The ladies working were friendly. Can’t recommend enough!
Olivia J — Google review
It’s a small place with only a few tables, but that doesn’t matter — the main point is the ice cream flavor. They have absolutely delicious ice cream. It was my first time trying perfectly made coffee ice cream 😊 But that’s just the beginning, because they offer flavors for different preferences, and I’m absolutely sure you won’t regret it if you give this place a shot 😉

First time here in 2015. 10 year later still one the best gellato I've ever had. The menta is outstanding.

I really don’t think it’s worth it. Firstly we’ve been told we cannot try flavors, so we had to choose on a spot. Secondly, the service kinda lazy or tired not sure which one but definitely not too excited to do thier job. And lastly the gelato itself was ok.. you can find way better ones in the city just not so close to the fountain.

Absolutely delicious gelato! This was hands down some of the best gelato I’ve had in Italy. The flavors were fresh and intense — especially the cheesecake and coconut. The texture was perfectly creamy, not too sweet, and you could tell they use high-quality ingredients. Friendly service and a great location too. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re nearby!

Frigidarium is a renowned gelateria located near the famous Piazza Navona in Rome. This family-run establishment is known for its inventive gelato and tiramisu, offering generous portions and mouth-watering flavors. The gelato cones are dipped in quick-drying liquid chocolate, making for a delightful treat. Despite the usual line, the service is efficient, and it's definitely worth the wait on a hot summer day.
Went on a Thursday early afternoon and didn't queue for too long. Very good pistachio gelato! Mango tasted like the real fruit but there were bits of ice in mine. You can choose to dip your ice cream in chocolate but I skipped. Would come back for the pistachio.

Well well what can i say, this is one of the best place i will visit again for sure once I’m in Rome 😊 Perfect place to cool off yourself A huge number of flavours for ice creams and lattes People will be in queue to get their ice creams but the staffs are friendly and welcoming and they’ll manage the crowd easily 😊👍 Make sure to give a visit if you’re near the area😊❤️

Frigidarium does not disappoint. This is likely one of the best gelatos I have ever had in the entire world. Their flavor choices are also interesting, the servers were kind and enthusiastic. Will definitely come back and I highly recommend this gelato shop in Rome.

The mango gelato taste just like fresh mango! The lemon gelato is too sour. The chocolate fudge is so thick and rich. The line was long when i was there. Service is good. They gave you sample to try before we decided. It is a cute 'come and go' ice cream shop, no chair and table.

After getting ripped off at an ice cream place next to the trevi fountain a few days before I was pleased to find this place. Great selection of flavours and the option to have solid chocolate covering the ice cream itself was nice. Great tasting gelato and the price was not bad either. I really recommend this place.

Great gelato and wonderful staff. I think we paid about €11 euro for two cones with 3 scoops. The Frigidarium flavor is a must try.

Two Sizes is a popular spot near Piazza Navona known for its delectable tiramisu in two sizes - small and big. The small size allows you to sample various flavors like strawberry, peanut butter, caramel, lemon, and the highly recommended pistachio. While there's no seating inside the shop, you can take your order to go and enjoy it by the Fontana del Moro nearby.
We absolutely loved this place! We ended up eating their tiramisu every single day while staying in Rome 😍 The tiramisu comes in two sizes as small (€3) and large (€4) and they are rich, creamy, and irresistible. The pistachio flavor is just unbelievable ! There is always queue but moves quickly.
Selin C — Google review
We stopped by Two Sizes for a tiramisu fix and it did not disappoint! The concept is fantastic. It is offering this classic dessert in two perfect portion sizes. We tried both the original and the pistachio tiramisu. The original was absolutely flawless; creamy, coffee-soaked, and everything a great tiramisu should be. The pistachio version was a delicious and creative twist, with a wonderful nutty flavor that complemented the mascarpone perfectly. It's a must-visit for any tiramisu lover. The quality is outstanding, and it's the perfect spot for a quick, delicious treat while exploring Rome. We highly recommend trying both!
Khalid A — Google review
Not sure if it's the best tiramisu in town but definitely not for me. The current version is just a little bit too sweet. It's smooth and creamy. It's very good to a lot of people as you can see from the long lines in the pictures.

Two Sizes is a must-visit in Rome for tiramisu lovers. The name says it all, you can choose either a small or large portion, and every bite is fantastic. They have several flavors besides the classic, including pistachio, caramel, peanut, and strawberry. The pistachio, classic and caramel were all my favorites. The texture is perfectly creamy with just the right balance of espresso and sweetness. It’s easily some of the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly and is absolutely worth it. A perfect stop for dessert while wandering through the city.

Just like their moto says THE BEST TIRAMISU IN TOWN, i’d say it’s best in the world I freaking love the staffs, they’re soo friendly you’ll visit there just to meet them 😊❤️ We tried two types of the tiramisus and it was so good, it’s packed with flavours and sweetness, they’re always chilled and ready to eat. We can take the cups with us after we have eaten them, They even offered me a bag to carry the cups just to keep them as a souvenir ❤️ A must place to visit if you are in Rome 😊🫶

Waiting in the queue is totally worth it! Amazing tiramisu with lots of different varieties. We had the peanut butter one and the Halloween special limited edition Oreo one. Both were great! We took the tiramisu and walked to Piazza novona(short walk away) and sat by the fountains to enjoy it!

A quick service tiramisu place where you’ll find tiramisu in 2 sized cups. Hence the name of the place. They serve 5 flavours, Classic, Caramel, Strawberry, Pistachio, and Peanut. We tried Caramel, Classic, and Strawberry. They were all good. Nothing too fancy and definitely not the best. You can definitely have better tiramisu at other restaurants. Big cup is €4 and small is €3. The cream tasted fresh and quite filling and the base was nice and moist. We also tried a small chocolate Cannoli which was essentially Nutella filling. It was fine and I believe it costed €2 You can give it a try if you just got out of a nearby restaurant and are craving a casual dessert.

Ginger - Spagna is a trendy and popular healthy restaurant located in Rome, known for its chic venue and menu featuring breakfasts, salads, açai bowls made with superfoods and organic ingredients. The bright and airy industrial interiors give off LA vibes, attracting well-heeled diners who enjoy gourmet sandwiches, fresh pasta dishes, colorful cold cuts, and a variety of healthy meat and fish options.
We came here for lunch on a friend’s recommendation and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and flavourful, especially the sandwich and the açaí bowl. The fruit smoothie was another highlight, refreshing and perfectly balanced. The service was good, considering that the place was packed. Prices are maybe a little high, but still good considering that the food is quite fresh. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The Fresh Bowl was a nice experience overall. The fruits were absolutely amazing — fresh, sweet, and full of flavor, definitely the highlight of the menu. The food tasted good, though the egg options are a bit limited (boiled, sunny side up, scrambled, and omelette). Still, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for something light and refreshing, especially for the fruit selection.

Absolutely loved this restaurant which was recommended to us by our daughters. Lunch was delicious, fresh salad and salmon and plenty of it. The best Hugo and Aperol Spritz too. If you’re looking for a break from pizza and pasta I highly recommend this place.

I really liked the interior — modern, clean, and with a positive vibe. It would actually be a nice place for a date. However, it’s quite busy and noisy, and the waiters aren’t very attentive — they seem rushed and don’t really notice you. I ordered the spaghetti with seafood and stracciatella, but honestly, it didn’t taste very good. The lemonade was nice, and the coffee was great though. Overall, I find it quite expensive for what it is. They automatically add €2.50 service charge to the bill, which feels a bit odd considering you don’t get any bread or anything extra, and the service itself isn’t really there — just different waiters rushing around. So, I’m not sure I’d pay for that again.
Barbora — Google review
The atmosphere and location are really nice, but honestly the jamón crudo was the only thing that stood out. Everything else was fine, but not memorable. Service was decent and the setting makes it worth a visit, though I’d come back mainly for the jamón.

La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro is a renowned coffee shop established in 1944 near the Pantheon, drawing in locals and tourists alike. The baristas are known for serving top-notch espresso, cappuccino, and their famous granita al caffe with whipped cream layers. The shop offers a wide selection of expertly roasted beans, including single-origin options like Jamaica Blue Mountain.
One of the best coffee experiences in Rome! The espresso here is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced—truly some of the finest I’ve ever had. Their famous granita di caffè with whipped cream is a must-try, refreshing and indulgent at the same time. The café has an old-school charm and a lively atmosphere that makes the visit even more enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality, and service is quick despite the constant flow of customers. If you’re a coffee lover, this is a Roman institution you cannot miss. Five stars all the way!
Raymond L — Google review
It’s one of the city’s most famous coffee spots, always buzzing with both locals and tourists. Founded in 1944 as a coffee roastery, the café opened its bar in 1946 as a place to taste blends before purchase, and today it remains a true landmark in Rome. They offer coffee, pastries, and traditional Italian desserts. The coffee was decent, though personally I found it just okay compared to the hype, and the desserts were fine but nothing particularly standout. Still, the unique blends, affordable prices, and the experience of enjoying an espresso in such a historic setting make it worth a stop.
Abdulkarim A — Google review
I personally think their iced espresso is a must-try. It has a rich flavor, and paired with the cool shaved ice and cream, it is definitely a brand new coffee experience in terms of both taste and flavor! In addition to ordering coffee on the spot, they also provide their own coffee beans and related coffee equipment. Those who are interested in brewing coffee can purchase them here.
Zen C — Google review
As my final stop before leaving Rome, I visited La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro, a place that perfectly captured the essence of Italian coffee culture. After spending days exploring and learning the true art of espresso, this was the ideal way to conclude the journey. The doppio espresso had a rich, full-bodied flavor with a pleasant acidity that lingered just long enough to appreciate its depth. Paired with just the right touch of sugar, it was beautifully balanced — intense yet smooth, simple yet profound. It wasn’t just a cup of coffee; it was a moment of reflection — the culmination of everything I had come to love about Italy’s coffee traditions. I left with a quiet satisfaction, knowing that this final espresso would remain one of the most memorable tastes of the entire trip.

We stopped by La Casa del Caffè (right behind the Pantheon) after seeing the glowing reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! I ordered a cappuccino, and wow—it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Smooth, rich, perfectly balanced… so good that I ordered a second one on the spot. My wife had a cold coffee with cream, and she really enjoyed it as well—refreshing and full of flavor. They have a huge menu with lots of coffee options, and surprisingly, the prices were very reasonable—especially given the central location. If you’re near the Pantheon and love coffee, this place is a must-visit. Great quality, quick service, and a true Roman coffee experience.

We heard good things about the baking 🥐here so we made sure to drop in. We tried the cannoli with the ricotta cheese filling. It was mildly sweet, not too rich, and absolutely delicious. We tried the Sfogliatella which was good, but a little heavy for my taste. The doughnut, danish, and crossiants were also delicious here. The pastries were flaky, crisp, and are definitely the best we had in Rome. The staff at the desk are not overly friendly, but I went there for the pastries not service, so I was not bothered. You place your order at the register here (it was not too straightforward). I could not recommend this bakery enough, I wish we had one like this at home 🇨🇦

We tried only coffee. It was delicious, but the atmosphere was a bit disappointing because we just came in during peak time. - too many people and too much noise, but it probably is because they have good quality. 👌🙏🏼 But that’s fine. Coffee was great - recommend it! :) would go again. Nice waiters also :)

We wanted a solid, good quality Italian cup of coffee and did not want to overpay. This is the place - the coffee quality is excellent we did not want to pay an extra euro for each cup to sit down so we drank it in the proper Italian style at the bar, the place is old and quite unique and the coffee is really really good. We stayed for about 7 days in Rome and really struggled in finding a good and nice place to eat without any hidden fees or any waiter trying to get you more bread to charge, but Al Forno della Soffitta was extremely great. The waiters were very friendly and accomodating with foreigners, they loved helping you pair your food with wine and the service overall was great. We only had pasta and pizza from this place because they were that good, but I saw they have some nice lunch menus that are available if you request them. We ate here 3 times and would have gone there more if we found it sooner.

Food was okay. Thin sliced ham was very good. Tried calzoni weren't great, fairly dry. Cacio e pepe was okay. Baked gnocchi was decent. Service was mixed. Host was friendly and quick. We had a male and female server. The male was nice, the female was rude, and we noticed she was extremely rude to the Indian couple who were seated beside us. They spoke English just like us but she treated them quite poorly. Upon leaving the restaurant that is what we talked about, not about the meal itself. We were also never offered another bottle of water or a refill on wine. Atmosphere was good, with the pizza oven being the focal point. Bathrooms were clean.

I’m not sure how this restaurant got 4.6 reviews here in google. The reviews all showed it’s a fantastic place to have authentic Italian food. This place is full of all tourists with speaking English. I haven’t seen a single Italian while I was sitting there 1.5 hours. I was excited to try authentic Italian food as a tourist so did some research for the reviews. Food is just average. I ordered seafood pasta. Lobster is not tasted fresh at all. In terms of service, I was sitting there to take my time to finish my glass wine. The waiter just passed a bill for me to finish it off. As a tourist coming to visit a place, it’s not a nice feeling at all. Of cuz I asked any limited time for dinning, he said no I can take my time to finish. To be honest, I do not have to ask for it. Or if any limited time for dinning should always let customers know before they are asks to be seated.

Fabulous flavors, all local organic ingredients. For example, all different levels from milk to dark dark cioccolato! This location also has little cannolis and other cookies. Got the 3 scooper for 5€, Rosemary lemon, pistachio, hazelnut. June 2025 Usually a line but if you go at the right time it won’t be too long. Goes by fairly quickly

First gelato shop I found without strawberry flavor! Not the best in the city, but overall okay. We tried the lemon, which was too icy for me. Dark chocolate was the best of the bunch. Raspberry lacked flavor, while hazelnut and Madagascar vanilla were just okay. In general, it's fine — but I’d prefer other gelato spots in Rome.

Simply the best gelato I’ve had in Italy. Gelateria del Teatro offers top-quality, handmade gelato that feels both artisanal and pure — every flavor tasted incredibly fresh and carefully balanced. We tried Pistachio, Truffle Chocolate, and a fruit flavor, and each one was outstanding in its own way. The pistachio was creamy and nutty, the truffle chocolate was deep and luxurious, and the fruit flavor added a refreshing contrast that rounded out the experience perfectly. It’s the kind of gelateria that makes you want to try every single flavor in the case. A must-visit in Rome for anyone who wants to experience gelato at its finest — authentic, elegant, and unforgettable.

★★★★★ Gelateria del Teatro – Rome One of the best gelaterias we’ve tried in Rome. The flavors are authentic, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My wife had Coconut and Dulce de Leche, while I went for Pistachio and Milk Chocolate. They were so good that I ended up getting another one with Coconut and Dulce de Leche just to enjoy that taste again. The Coconut flavor is truly exceptional — fresh, smooth, and natural, something you don’t often find elsewhere. If you want to try a flavor that’s not so common but absolutely delicious, that’s the one to go for. The Pistachio has just the right balance between richness and sweetness. A charming spot with artisanal quality and friendly service. Definitely a must-visit in Rome for real gelato lovers.

Antico Caffè Greco, located in the heart of Rome on Via Condotti, is a renowned 18th-century café that has been frequented by famous figures like Keats and Byron. As the second oldest café in Italy, it boasts a rich history dating back to 1760.
I wanted to go because it’s the oldest cafe and Nietzsche used to drink there! I'd read the reviews about cost so I went in ready to pay more than usual, but my gosh was it even more worth it than I thought it was going to be. It was like stepping into the past. I loved it. I got 1 iced coffee for €12. It was worth more than three coffees in a Cafe Nero by far!! The staff are lovely and had remembered me from when I'd nipped in for an espresso at the counter when I was just passing through the day before. The day of my birthday I went inside and got a lovely marble table, with a wonderful view. Absolutely worth it 10/10.
Sarah E — Google review
A must try on your Roman holiday! Caffe Greco seems to get a lot of mixed review. Having experienced it myself I can say it’s a caffe in its own league. It’s equal parts caffe and museum, not to mention a respectful nod to a time long passed. Being one of the oldest caffes in Europe, people among the ranks of Lord Byron have traversed the threshold and dined within these walls. And for me that is part of what going here is all about. You’re buying entry to be transported back in time and sit in the same spots as some of history’s great minds. I think it’s worth noting coffee culture in Italy is very different from other countries, and especially the US. Usually being a walk up bar where you slap down one Euro, get a shot of espresso in under a minute, drink quickly, and move on with your day. This is not that place. You sit down, get served crème in a silver dish by a waiter in a tuxedo, and order fabulous tortes to indulge in the coffee experience. But keep in mind, by and large, Italians do not drown their food in sugar like so many people, and especially Americans, are used to. I think this is why some people find the experience to be lacking. I’ve always found the food here to be exceptional, but you need to be mentally and maybe emotionally prepared to drop some cash for coffee and cake. This is on the more luxe side of experiences. If that is your thing, then this is a must try on your Roman holiday.
Justin M — Google review
We visited Caffè Greco near Piazza di Spagna and were really disappointed. The hot chocolate was basically just melted chocolate, extremely thick and hard to drink. I couldn’t even finish one spoon. It was honestly unpleasant. We also ordered a small sandwich that cost around €20, and the espresso was €12. The hot chocolate alone was €15. In total, we had just 2-3 items and ended up paying around €80, which felt completely unjustified for the quality and quantity we got. The place may be historic, but it’s extremely overpriced, and the experience didn’t live up to the hype at all.
Jason M — Google review
Rome’s oldest café, founded in 1760, Antico Caffè Greco is less a coffee stop than a living museum of the Grand Tour. Goethe, Liszt, Keats, and Stendhal once sat here, and the red velvet benches, gilt frames, and statuary still carry that salon-like atmosphere. The macchiato and cheesecake I ordered were serviceable (6/10 and 5/10), but the price goes beyond what’s on the plate: it’s the cost of continuity. Greco faces huge rent pressures from its landlord and uncertain protection for its heritage. To sit here is to make a small contribution to a place that has outlasted empires, where conversation and culture have lingered for centuries.

We went to this cafe hoping to have a good cake and coffee served by experienced personnel and instead found ourselves disappointed by very poor service and unsavoury cake. We ordered a lemon cake that was supposed to be very good according to the waitress’ suggestion. Instead the taste of the cake was abysmal. We got served some kind of jelly looking cake that tasted nothing like lemon. The cream was solid and had multiple colour in it. Something that it is not really common in this specific type of cake. It looked somewhat not really fresh. Of course we did not eat it and expressed our disappointment to the waitress but our complain was unheard and met with unpleasantry which definitely should not belong to this kind of places. In the end we were charged 14 euros for a cake that we did not eat. Would never go back there again.

The coffee shop feels like a museum — the atmosphere is truly unique and different from any regular café. The coffee is good, but the prices are quite high.

Antico Caffè Greco: A Roman Treasure Stepping through the narrow doorway of Antico Caffè Greco on Via dei Condotti feels like entering a living museum where time moves at the pace of perfectly pulled espresso. Founded in 1760, this legendary Roman coffeehouse has been serving more than just beverages—it's been nurturing souls, inspiring artists, and creating moments of pure magic for over two and a half centuries. The dimly lit interior, with its burgundy velvet banquettes and marble-topped tables, whispers stories of the countless luminaries who once sat in these very seats. Goethe penned letters here, Casanova plotted his romantic adventures, and Keats found solace in the aromatic embrace of Italian coffee culture. The walls, adorned with portraits and memorabilia, seem to pulse with the creative energy of generations past. What strikes me most profoundly about Caffè Greco is how it makes you feel like you're part of something eternal. The ritual of standing at the marble bar, watching the barista's practiced hands work their alchemy, connects you to centuries of Romans who have performed this same daily dance. The coffee itself—rich, bold, and served in delicate porcelain cups—tastes like liquid history. #RomaNeiNegoziStoriciEccellenza #PatrimonioUrbano @negozistoricieccellenzaroma

Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato, located in the heart of Rome near iconic landmarks like the Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Venezia, is a must-visit for any gelato lover. This charming spot has been delighting visitors since 1878 with its exquisite chocolate creations and rich Italian-style gelato. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by an impressive hot chocolate waterfall that sets the stage for a truly indulgent experience.
A True Roman Indulgence: Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato is a must try As a Chef with high expectations for quality and flavor, I can confidently say that Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato on Via del Corso is hands-down one of the best gelato and chocolate experience in Rome—and that is saying a lot. After sampling most of the renowned gelaterias across the city, this is the one that truly rises above. The gelato here is absolute perfection. It achieves that rare balance of being perfectly creamy yet intensely full of flavor. Every scoop is a testament to the quality of their ingredients and technique. The only other shop I've found that approaches this level of mastery is Gelataria la Roma, which is an extremely high bar. What truly sets Venchi apart and pushes it over the top is the incredible high-quality chocolate. They use this exquisite chocolate to enhance their already amazing gelato, creating a depth of flavor and texture that is unmatched. Whether you are savoring the rich dark chocolate or enjoying a creamy pistachio, the commitment to superior ingredients shines through in every bite. If you are looking for the ultimate Roman treat—a place where a passion for classic flavor meets flawless execution—look no further than Venchi. It's a must-visit for any chocolate and gelato lover.

If you're looking for an incredible gelato experience in Rome, you have to stop at Venchi on Via del Corso. The place is a paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth! The aroma of chocolate hits you as soon as you walk in, and the sight of the chocolate waterfall is mesmerizing. Yes, it can get busy, but the line moves quickly and it is 100% worth the wait. It's the perfect treat to enjoy while strolling down one of Rome's most famous streets. A delicious and unforgettable stop!

Even though there’s hundreds of gelato shops to choose from, this one is a must see. The gelato and chocolate is delicious, but it’s the ambience of the place that really sets it apart. The chocolate fountain wall is super cool. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area.

Fantastic experience visiting and first time buying in this chocolate and sweets shop. I have to especially praise the shop employee for his kindness and expertise. Once again a very pleasant experience just a few meters from the Trevi Fountain. We will definitely be back....

Venchi Cioccolato in Rome is pure heaven for chocolate lovers. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the rich aroma of cocoa and the beautifully displayed selection of pralines, bars, and gelato. Everything looks like art, and the taste matches the presentation – truly delicious. I tried their famous gelato and it was one of the creamiest I’ve ever had, full of authentic flavor. The chocolate fountain wall is also a unique touch that makes the store unforgettable. The staff were friendly, patient, and happy to explain the different flavors and make recommendations. Prices are fair considering the high quality, and the packaging makes it perfect for gifts as well. If you’re in Rome and have a sweet tooth, this is an absolute must-visit. A delightful experience that combines luxury, flavor, and a bit of magic.

My wife loves the gelato here. The line ups are long however they move quick. The prices are fair for location. Tip: if you want to avoid the line, buy a chocolate or two and pay for the gelato when at the same time. You by pass the line and go straight to picking your flavor.

Mizzica is a traditional pasticceria in Rome that offers a variety of sweet and savory pastries, desserts, and coffees. One of its specialties is the homemade brioscia, a large sweet roll served with gelato and granita, which is popular for breakfast in Sicily during the summer.
Phenomenal Arancini. Two is easily enough to fill up on. I especially enjoyed the Salmon. The price was very good as well.

We had “breakfast” at Monica’s twice this past week, staff and service were very good. English isn’t readily spoken; but understood well enough to get orders done. The pastries and caffès were good and tasty, their table service was quick and polite. A good place to start your day from.

Had lunch on a Sunday (around 2:00pm). Ordered Parmigiana di melanzane alla siciliana, (Eggplant Parmesan)and a anacini di riso (a rice ball coated breadcrumbs and deep fried. The parmigiana was nice but too salty to my taste. The arancini was delicious, crispy from the outside and filled with meat, cheese, tomatoes and rice. For dessert I had cannolino which is a small cannoli, filled with sweet ricotta cheese, and a cappuccino. The dessert are the reason this place is so popular. Such a beautiful variety of sweets. Service was okay, not as personal as one expect, perhaps because the place was very busy. Was difficult to find a table to seat.... I will certainly be back to explore more of these beautiful desserts.

Great variety of Arancini and pastries. Very good flavor both on salty and sweet food - Not the best, but still very good. A little on the expensive side but worth it (the arancini are huge). Nice seating area outside.

This place was close to our hotel and open late so we visited few times. Most of the staff doesn't speak English and it was struggle to place an order as you have to pay first then get your food. So I had to take a photo of the pastries so I can order. Cashier was rude and serious, no smile. Coffee was great. We tried several pastries including cannolino, savoia piccola and we didn't like them. Cornetto vuoto was ok but our favorite was arancino ragu.

Forno Campo de' Fiori is a well-established bakery offering a variety of traditional sweet and savory baked goods as well as slices of pizza. Despite the bustling atmosphere in the central piazza, their simple yet delicious pizza by the slice is a must-try. The bakery offers different toppings such as tomato sauce, salt and olive oil, zucchini flower, anchovy, and mozzarella.
Amazing! The service is super fast, and the food is amazing, at a fair price. I got the sandwich pizza with mortadella, ruccola e parmigiano. They heat it up at the moment. It truly was amazing!! There are no tables or seats, just a little table on the wall where you can put your beverage

An excellent, thin crust, take-away pizza!! We shared the red pizza and the Margherita. Fresh, quality ingredients, and crispy crust! And I loved that you could watch the pizzas being made as you ordered. My only complaint is that we had to eat the pizza at an Irish pub nearby because the pizza place was take-away only.

I had the mortadella focaccia and the bread tasted fresh. The flavors were extremely simple, with a focus on the freshness of the ingredients. I also had their ragu suppli and it was the highlight for me. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside!

One of my favourite panini spots in the city! Always the freshest, tastiest ingredients and the bread is always perfectly crisp and doused in high quality olive oil. Highly recommend the simple mortadella panino and any of the vegetarian options but especially the one with zucchini, tomatoes and grated provolone. Sweet, ripe tomatoes are such a treat when in Italy. Definitely get your panini to take away and sit on the edge of the nearby fountain in the piazza to enjoy them in the sun.

IlForno in Campo de’ Fiori has been a staple for us whenever we’re in Rome, and more often than not, we find ourselves visiting multiple times a day. It’s the ultimate spot for what we call “walkie-talkie pizza”—fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious slices perfect for grabbing on the go while soaking in the energy of the piazza. Since 1970, this bakery has stayed true to its roots, never compromising on quality or tradition. Every bite reflects the care and skill of the bakers who craft their pizzas and breads daily, using the best ingredients—rigorously extra virgin olive oil, high-quality butter, and rich, flavorful toppings. There are no shortcuts here, just pure, honest flavors that have stood the test of time. Whether it’s the classic pizza bianca, the irresistible pizza rossa, or any of their other specialties, Il Forno never disappoints. The aroma alone is enough to draw you in, and once you’ve had a taste, you’ll likely be back for more (as we always are). A true Roman institution and an absolute must for anyone in the area!

Antico Forno Roscioli is a renowned bakery and deli that has been serving up delicious treats since 1972. This family-run establishment combines traditional baking methods with modern flair to create some of the city's most beloved breads, pastries, and pizzas. The comforting aroma of freshly baked goods welcomes visitors as they step inside this historic venue. The bakery is famous for its signature sourdough bread and thin-crust Roman-style pizzas topped with fresh ingredients.
We had an Airbnb nearby in our stay in Rome, so we decided to check out Antico Forno Roscioli around 10 AM after finding good Google reviews on it. Thankfully, there was no line when we arrived, and we were able to walk right in. The place has a reputation for being busy, but going in the morning seemed to help us avoid the crowds. The staff was welcoming and efficient, and the atmosphere felt both lively and local. While most people come for the pizza, we were surprised by the variety beyond that. The counter was full of fresh breads, pastries, and other baked goods that looked just as tempting. It’s easy to get carried away if you’re hungry, especially since everything is sold by weight and beautifully displayed. Even so, prices were reasonable, and it was a fun way to sample a bit of everything. The staff made the process easy, offering English descriptions and helping us navigate the options without feeling rushed. Whether you’re grabbing a few slices or just picking up fresh bread or a sweet pastry, it’s worth stopping in—especially if you’re staying nearby and can beat the crowds.
Leon J — Google review
There’s a reason there’s so much hype around Roscioli. The bakery is superb. It feels like most people come for the pizza (it was delicious) but the breads and pastries all looked delicious too. One of the culinary highlights of our trip to Rome. If you walk past and there’s a queue, join it. You’ll be queuing for 5 mins at most and it’s inevitably much better than many other places in Rome
Daniel D — Google review
The sweet is better than savoury. Not sure why I haven’t seen many people talk about the sweet pastries. The fig tart was really good. The custard wasn't overly sweet and it paired well with the base. The base biscuit was very soft and crumbly, more like a soft cookie rather than a typical hard tart base. The ventaglio was also quite good, it was a pastry version of the butterfly cookie and not too sweet either. The chilli pizza slice was good, the olive oil on it was quite good, not too oily or heavy. But nothing super special. The ham sandwich with lettuce was eh. The lettuce on it tasted weird.
Bella R — Google review
Honestly truly worth the hype and queue outside. Excellent pizza al taglio with a variety of toppings and pizza bianca made to order. The base is nicely crisp with a pillowy dough, all fresh produce and Roscioli-made ingredients. Pizza Burrata is essential and Pizza Bianca con Mortadella is also excellent (very high quality deli meats). Go before lunch rush (12 pm) to beat the queue, but it moves fairly quickly anyway. Service is understandably curt because of how busy it gets, just know what you want and order right away.
M — Google review
Definitely worth the stop!! This is the cutest, most authentic feeling little Italian bakery/deli/pizza spot. It's very small inside with a whole lot of people trying to place orders. Kind of chaotic. Outside there r a couple tables against the building with a few chairs. Definitely not a lot of seating, but it's possible. Pastries & fresh breads look delicious and barely out of the oven, but we didn't try those. Did get a few different salami sliced up for snacking later & those were wonderful. Also got some pizza slices, which they warmed & we ate outside. Like most other quick pizza spots, they cut a portion off the large pizza and then after warming it slice it into smaller pieces. This places cuts very large pieces so if ur not super hungry or want to try a few types, might want to ask for a smaller portion. This shop was also more expensive than others, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and flavor of it. Also, Roscioli has a coffee shop down the street so make sure you go to the correct location.
Q S — Google review
As every time I’m in Rome, I headed to Roscioli for lunch to grab some pizzas. The place has no seating area inside but there’s a nearby park where I always sit to enjoy my food, so that’s not an issue. Roscioli offers both sweets and savoury dishes, and their highlight is pizza, which comes in different shapes and flavours. Prices are ok, not cheap but not overly pricey. With 16 euros I was insanely stuffed. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food quality outstanding. Overall a great find, totally recommend.

We lined up here for a quick morning bite in Rome. It's worth the try for a grab-and-go. Pros: > Has a variety of classic Italian breads from savory to sweet > We tried a few pizzas, which were really good > Even with a line, service moves at a decent pace—ordering and getting your food doesn’t take too long. Cons: > There is not enough seating so can be a hassle to eat while standing outside. > It can get very busy and crowded.

Fraschetteria Roma, located near Piazza Barberini, offers a warm and friendly dining experience with excellent service. The restaurant is known for its personal and authentic atmosphere, providing a unique dining experience in Rome. Guests recommend trying the pistacchio tiramisu to finish off a fabulous dinner. The truffle pasta is particularly popular, described as light and delicious by one visitor who usually finds pasta too heavy.
My black truffle sauce pasta will remain in my top 20 meals of all time. Our salad was phenomenal in both its taste and simplicity. My daughter loved her carbonara. Small, intimate space, off the path, and worth finding. Have desert - they really do make it there. The service was unlike any other in Rome - incredible! If it is full when you get there, have a spritz and wait. Trust me. They don’t charge enough! So wonderful.
Emily W — Google review
Fraschetteria is a little basement restaurant that you couldn’t even find without Google Maps but it is 100% worth the visit. The charcuterie board is absurd, the pasta is fantastic, and the waiter was a good dude. Most interestingly, the wine list is very unique for someone who isn’t from Rome. We get a ton of Chianti, Brunello, Barrolo in the States, but Cesanese was new for me. Get the pistachio tiramisu for dessert and make sure you make a reservation. People stood outside waiting our entire meal.
David B — Google review
Wow. Just wow. Small 18 seat restaurant in the basement that you’d never find without Google… but it should be front and centre on your list. It was so good that we ate here the next night. Our servers both nights were great, but the main feature here is the food. You can tell it’s all homemade and put together with passion and care. Absolutely delicious. Would make a reservation though as it is very small.

If you’re reading this review, it’s not by chance. You’re probably searching for the best restaurants in Rome — and if you hadn’t stumbled upon this review, you might never have found this place. Fraschetteria Roma isn’t easy to spot, and it’s not on a street you’d typically find yourself walking down. But trust me — you’re lucky you did. This tiny restaurant, with barely eight tables, served some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Every dish felt authentic and perfectly balanced, like it came straight from someone’s home kitchen …it might have. The flavors were rich but never heavy, the ingredients fresh, and the service warm and genuine. It’s the kind of experience that reminds you why you travel — to find places like this. No fancy décor, no gimmicks, just real Italian cooking from good people. Truly unexpected, and absolutely unforgettable.
Justin S — Google review
A hidden gem! My friend and I were looking for a nice place for authentic Italian food and wanted something off the beaten path. Fraschetteria is easy to miss if you are not specifically looking for it. The food is excellent. I ordered the lasagna and tiramisu with pistachio. Wine selection is great. It's a very tiny spot with only 7 small tables inside but well worth it. The staff is quick and friendly.

Such a pleasant surprise for what we thought was a little hole in the wall! Great wine recommemdation from our server, cacio e pepe was delicious and the desserts were great (chocolate fondant cake and pistachio tiramisu - the best of my husband's life!). Lovely atmosphere and it felt like we had stumbled upon a real gem. I'd definitely recommend booking in advance but for us it was well worth the wait!
Neelam S — Google review
We have been coming here for the last 6 years. It is our favorite place in Rome to eat. Fabio and Valentina are amazing hosts and just wonderful people who really care about the guest’s satisfaction. The food is amazing as everyone else says! Out favorites are the Bruschette ciauscolo y Miele Al tartufco. For pastas the lasagne and gnocchi are amazing and the carbonara is the best we have eaten in Rome. For dessert do not pass up the pistachio tiramisu if it is available. I definitely recommend getting a reservation as soon as you know you are in Rome if not you may have a long wait. There may also be a Short wait if you have a reservation as they do not have set seating times but the atmosphere is so vibrant and the food so delicious that it is so worth the wait!
Tyler D — Google review
It was a wait (even with a reservation) and I considered finding another restaurant but I'm so glad I didn't. As can see from other reviews a very tight and cozy place. 18 people tops. The food was fantastic. Gnocchi was absolutely amazing simple but with great flavor. The black truffle tagliatelle probably best thing I've had in all of Italy. If can deal with the wait it's totally worth it.

Ordered the almond, pistachio, chocolate and hazelnut scoop of ice cream. All vegan, all tasted amazing. It’s really refreshing to see no artificial flavourings and colourings. These colours are normal, but the flavours were REAL, it is what you want from an ice cream. Definitely one of the best ice cream spots in Italy. I also ordered a coconut/pineapple/date shake too. Really refreshing.

We visited Grezzo Raw Chocolate and tried their ice cream and a hazelnut dessert called “Emblema.” The ice cream was really nice, smooth and rich in flavour. On the other hand, the hazelnut dessert was a bit too intense for me. The hazelnut taste was very strong, and after a few bites, it became overwhelming. Still, it's a good spot if you enjoy vegan, raw, rich desserts and want to try something different.

Grezzo was such a nice little shop! My husband and I both had the mandorla con café (with their own espresso in the flavor). It was incredible, so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. We only wish we discovered this place before our last day in Rome. 1000/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet ice cream shop in a beautiful Piazza.

At Mondi, Romans go to take sweets to someone's house as a sign of good will – the pastry shop is popular for its assortment of mini-shortbread crusts filled with cream and topped with fruit. You can either have them enjoy them at the bar, or grab a table to eat them properly.
They have the delicious gelato ever, I recommend the shrimp and avocado sandwich

Well known pastry shop. Usually crowded. Excellent food quality, vast assortment of cakes and sweet and ice cream, very expensive. Popular neighborhood place where young and older clients visit. Outdoor seating.

Ice cream is great but service is horrible!! I felt mistreated, i asked which ice cream doesn’t contain gluten itself contamination is not a problem and the answer was i don’t know, al contain with an angry face. Well who knows then if even angry woman who serves ice cream doesn’t??

This is our local and favorite place for a top quality cornetto (get the mandorla!) and cappuccino. Prices are a bit more than other bars, but the quality is worth it! They are also open every day, even Ferragosto. Check out their desserts and gelato in the evening, too!

Amazing Ice Cream. Although more modern Ice cream places are filling Rome, this place gives you an amazing feel of how Italian ice cream used to be 10 years ago. Been going here since I was 3 years old.

Pasticceria Barberini, a beloved establishment in Testaccio since 1925, has evolved from a milk bar and ice cream parlor to a renowned bakery and confectionery. This go-to eatery offers an array of delectable treats, including handmade cakes, freshly-baked croissants, Austrian-inspired Sacher torte, French-style macarons, and miniature sandwiches.
This place is super busy and understandably so! The display of pastries and cakes is full of stunning creations and the ones we tasted were absolutely delicious. Recommend the Wonka for the chocolate lovers. Coffee was great too and service was quick and friendly. A great find!

Lovely pastry shop surprise! Was looking for Gelato and came across this right opposite my hotel. Beautiful pastries, lovely flavors and great coffee. Ordered a barberini. Espresso and shakerato. Good stuff but sadly they tried to overcharge me. They said barberini was EUR 10 (changed later to 8) and the shakerato was EUR 5 instead of only 2.90 (big size it seems, though size was never asked). Apart from this pricing issue, place to sit and enjoy. Really friendly service and good music. Plan to visit again.

Zia Restaurant, located at Via Goffredo Mameli 45, is a sophisticated and intimate venue that offers creative and delicious dishes. The restaurant's interior design combines clean Scandinavian lines with delicate hints of Roma, creating an elegant atmosphere for diners. Named after chef Antonio Ziantoni, the restaurant boasts a seasonal menu that reflects true culinary refinement. With only 30 covers, Zia provides an exclusive dining experience in the Trastevere area.
Extremely good 1* restaurant, & a very good value. They acommodated my pescetarian wife perfectly and let us do two different menus that we shared, which is always a huge bonus, getting to try twice as much. Very casual vibe, great music playing (Burial, Four Tet, etc). 6 dishes added to my list of best things I've ever had: the pork belly, the oyster (!!), the sweetbreads, the mackerel, the spiny lobster (!!), the flan for two. $170/person, 24/20 score, priced great ($70 cheaper than EL Ideas, another 1* in Chicago, which was similarly good).

423euros for 2 people, for a tasting menu of 7 steps (plus 2 desserts) & wine paring with 1 sparkling, 2 whites, 1 orange and 1 rosso. My first experience in a 1* Michelin star restaurant and a great one. Don't have much to compare with but it was overall an astounding experience. I do have to say only 3 plates had a real "wow" feeling, but all of them were greatly enjoyable.
Anibal M — Google review
Starting off, many reviews have said its bitter often, that's true, I happen to be from a part of Europe this is common and I liked it, but if you don't you may struggle. The courses were all good and a couple truly excellent, there was maybe only one thing right at the start we thought was rather average. Our server was Lucia (or something like that sorry if its wrong) who was lovely and explained everything well in english for us. The atmosphere is pretty standard, not wow but very comfy. Overall a very enjoyable 1* experience perhaps a little on the expensive end even for a Michelin resturant :)
Viper X — Google review
Zia was definitely an experience, and the waiting staff put on a song and dance choreography of plates that anyone would appreciate. The service is exquisite and its of credit to them how well they pull it off in being polite, attentive, and exceptional at what they do. What lets the restaurant down sadly is its food and ambiance, and I would expect more from a Michelin star establishment. Ambiance : too sterile, everyone is afraid to make a single sound, the music is very low, it makes the whole vibe slightly unwelcoming. Food : We tried the 7 course menu, and most of the food was nice. Not great, not mind blowing, it was nice. Some dishes like the Pigeon very clearly missed the mark and were not good at all. Others tasted really nice, but had me feeling mixed emotions about if the price tag is worthy of the quality. Sadly, I’d say the seven course menu was not. I think the chef could push themselves abit more to craft a better menu that can accompany the price tag.
V Y — Google review
Food was mostly delicious except for a few outlayers (cold pasta dish did not work for us, as well as the lobster dish which was messy but interesting). The desserts were tasty but very trivial which is unexpected frim a place like this and arevthe main reason for the 4\5 stars. Wine pairing was mostly very good though to me the rosé wine did not compliment the dishes and was generally not a memorable wine. Service was perfect and kind, atmosphere was modern, pleasant and clean.
Lior S — Google review
Chef Antonio of Zia, and his crew led by Valentina in front, plus masterful chefs in the kitchen is a memorable dreamy journey of the best tastes of Roman, Lazio, and global cuisine. Spectacular to your eyes, and tantalizing for your taste buds, highly recommend a visit to celebrate anything speical, or just to immerse in his expertise. Grazie mille Chef !
R.Paul H — Google review
I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant holds two Michelin stars. The five-course menu featured two fish dishes back to back, both dry, skimpy, and uninspired. Especially when they had other proteins on the menu that could have added variety. (The ravioli were good) The lower-level seating felt like a dungeon: hot, airless, and completely lacking atmosphere. Service was professional but cold, polished without warmth or charm. Overall, the experience felt clinical and joyless. Definitely not worth the hype (or the stars). 👎
Insiders L — Google review
The food, service, and cleanliness at this Michelin-starred restaurant were all excellent. The place was spotless, and the staff was attentive and friendly. However, while the food was enjoyable and well-prepared, it didn’t blow me away or offer that extraordinary, mind-blowing experience I expect from a Michelin star. It was good, but not special enough to warrant such high praise. Another disappointment was the waitress’s uniform, which looked more like a pajama than anything fitting for a Michelin-star restaurant. I was expecting a more polished, professional look. Additionally, while the restaurant was clean, the design felt very flat and lacked the wow factor. Overall, while the experience was pleasant, I wouldn’t give this restaurant a Michelin star. For the price of 200 euros per person, I expected much more. I would consider this meal worth 80 euros per person at best.

Pasticceria Linari is a beloved neighborhood spot in the Testaccio district of Rome, serving up delicious cakes, pastries, pizza, and sandwiches since 1971. This all-day cafe is known for its homemade cornetti and cakes, drawing crowds in the mornings but offering a quieter atmosphere in the afternoons. Run by sisters Simona and Lenora, this family-owned establishment has been committed to quality and friendly service for nearly 50 years.
One of the BEST pastry places I’ve ever been to! The prices are very good compared to the center of Rome. Matozzo pastry is 2,5€, other little pastries vary from 1,5€-3€. The coffee was also very good! They also have pizza and other salty goods. They work shorter on monday, check the working hours before going.

We came here almost every day during our week-long vacation in Rome. The staff were welcoming, friendly, professional, and attentive. The pastries were excellent! The cappuccino could be better — the milk froth wasn’t among the best I’ve had.

This little pastry/breakfast/ coffee shop was recommended to us by our Airbnb host, Veruska for breakfast. And she could not have been more accurate for a great place to eat. We started our days at this quaint little spot with cappuccinos or lattes, and even the occasional Americano. I don’t even know what we had for breakfast most days, but it was usually some type of a pastry, filled with meat and cheese, and it was always a wonderful breakfast. Not a traditional North American breakfast to be sure, but we loved it. We also stopped in for some pastries, such as cannolis, and even the pastry filled “hotdog” were fantastic for a quick bite while walking around the Testaccio neighborhood we stayed in during our stay in Rome. It took us very little time to figure out how to order and pay, but basically we just followed the locals and how they did things. Sometimes finding a spot to sit would be challenging but a couple mornings we would just walk over to nearby Piazza Testaccio and enjoyed our breakfast sitting on a park bench. Loved every minute of it Thanks for the food, the atmosphere and the service Paul and Andrea Canada

I chose crepe with an egg, cheese and ham. It wasn't too good for me, but because of crepe itself - I like it less cooked, so it's more about personal preferences. My girlfriend chose a sweet one and it was much better so I'm gonna give it solid 4/5 anyway. You just gotta go and try it yourself, but the sweet crepes are certainly the way to go in my opinion.

On a casual Friday night, we decided to stop by a charming little crêpe spot for something sweet. From the first bite, the flavors were amazing, but what truly stood out was the preparation. Just give this place a try! You won't regret it! Crepes as good as you can find in Paris. Wife and I went 2 times in 3 days, pictures are from our 2nd visit on Sept 27, 2023. Forgot to take pictures the 1st time. I was torn between the caramel with sea salt and the butter and sugar crepes. I went with the butter and sugar crepe. It was surprisingly good. I mentioned to the friendly staffer that the crepe was equal or better than the ones we had in Paris. Turns out that the owner is from France. Shop was staffed by 2 different persons both times we went. Both engaged in conversations with us and were helpful. On our second visit, I got the caramel crepe. Wife wanted a crepe with strawberries and a touch of sugar. The nice lady was happy to accommodate her custom request. Both were very good, the caramel had just a touch too much caramel sauce but it did not detract from my enjoyment of the crepe.

Love this little coffee and dessert bar. For being near the largest attractions of Rome it’s very reasonably priced. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall, but you can get a nice sandwich here as well as some very pretty looking dessert items. The macaroons and jam-filled croissants were really tasty! Definitely the spot to stop at for a quick pick-me-up if you’re wandering around the city center. There is a nice park across the street where you can take your items to eat.

There was a que and wait. I tried the famous pizza, they cut portions to the size you want, they have a lot of baked goods among other things. I highly recommend trying. Wonderful community bakery - go to the right hand side for sandwiches. Go for the experience, not the rush - a sandwich will take 20+ minutes, but you’ll spend the whole time being fed an endless stream of baked goods, pizza, and life stories (great English too). And say yes to extra flavourings etc, next-level sandwiches. Very reasonable prices too.

Poor, poor and poor. Old man at the counter with a Bengali colleague, there was a queue the usual Italian way (no standards, no first one or last, no tickets) only serving the locals on the lunch break, avoiding the tourist looking like, too bad for them I was born here and left around 15 years ago. Didn’t have the chance to try their products, although looked quite standard and nothing special to me. The place also needs a good clean up and is quite messy. Through the other doors you can see their ovens and the baker watching movies on the phone, classic.
Michael J — Google review
Never had such a bad experience in a bakery!! While discussing what to buy we could NOT name something between us that the man at the counter would immediately pack it and then refuse to remove it from our bill. Be aware! They told us: you name it you buy it. Then the bill came at 10.35euro and the same guy told us: just 10. But the lady at the register did not agree and she wanted from us the .35c. We told her to take them from the 20euro bill we gave her but she did not have the change and complained to us for not giving her the .35c. I am sorry but we won't go back. This is not appropriate customer service.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do and head to Pompi Tiramisu for an authentic taste of this classic Italian dessert. Known as "il regno del tiramisu" or the king of tiramisu in Rome, Pompi is a local favorite that's frequented by residents looking to bring home a delicious tiramisu for family gatherings. The creamy mascarpone, spongy ladyfingers, and heavenly chocolate make it a standout treat.
Super light tiramisu — definitely worth a visit in Rome! The taste was excellent, with an incredibly light and airy crema that almost melts in your mouth. It felt delicate yet flavorful. Highly recommended! Last but not least — the ice cream was the highlight! Especially the lemon flavor — it was the best I had in Rome. Definitely recommended!
Nida Ö — Google review
I first went to Pompi and tried two tiramisus: the gluten-free and the pistachio. I loved them so much that I went back in the afternoon to try the classic one as well. All three were amazing, but the pistachio was my absolute favorite. Surprisingly, the gluten-free version was even better than the classic, in my opinion. I truly think this is the best tiramisu in Rome. At the counter, I asked if it was halal, and the lady said yes. The fact that they even know what halal means made me very happy, so Muslims can enjoy it with peace of mind.

I tried Pompi’s Classico tiramisù, and wow—it literally melts in your mouth like a dream. Each bite is creamy heaven, and the dark chocolate bits give that perfect little crunch that makes it irresistible. I honestly could eat the whole thing in one sitting. Pretty nice tiramisu and really fast service. The tiramisu itself wasn’t too sweet nice and light, but the pistachio flavor wasn’t very strong. It’s not very "in your face," which could be good for some and less so for others, but it’s still a nice treat.

I tried the classic tiramisu, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The flavor was perfectly balanced, not too strong on the coffee, not too creamy or sweet, just right. The portion was generous too, making it a truly satisfying dessert.
Pari G — Google review
We tried the gluten-free tiramisu the classic and we took the pistachio the normal flavour. It was below expectation and overrated.
Abdulaziz M — Google review
Best tiramisu I had in Rome. Seasonal flavor was just as fabulous (mango) and super fresh. Original tiramisu was light and packed with flavor. Great size for 2-3 to share for only €6

Absolutely divine tiramisù – a must-visit in Rome! Pompi truly lives up to its reputation as the king of tiramisù. The texture is perfectly creamy, the balance of coffee and cocoa is spot on, and the portion size is generous. I tried the classic version, but the strawberry and pistachio flavors are also exceptional – rich, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The shop is well-organized, service is fast, and staff are friendly even during busy hours. It’s the ideal stop after sightseeing or for a late-night dessert craving. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. Whether you’re a tiramisù lover or just want to try the best in town, Pompi won’t disappoint. Highly recommended!

Ai Tre Scalini is a classic eatery located in the chic boho district of Monti in Rome. This popular spot has been a mainstay in the city's dining and drinking scene for over a century, offering a warm and inviting interior where patrons can enjoy pasta, meat plates, and an extensive wine list. The bistro and bottiglieria exude Roman charm with many menu items written in dialect.
Beautiful restaurant set in beautiful Monti! Service was very friendly, with a smile and nice. Food was delicious. We got a lot of appetizers to try and then had the ricotta ravioli/ Cacio I Pepe and it was sublime! Highly recommend this place! Prices are great. Super cute patio and lots of space inside too. Enjoy! Ciao! 🇮🇹🍝

Great food, the main courses and desserts were light and tasty. Good selection of wines, including rosé and orange. Service was fast and efficient, but at times it was difficult to get waiters' attention. We sat by the counter, which wasn't the most comfortable experience, but allowed us to get inside in less than 10 minutes wait time.
Gabriel P — Google review
Very busy place, we were able to get seated outside at lunch after a small wait. Simple and tasty. Meatballs were very good! I was so excited to have such a great Greek salad after weeks of eating little to no raw vegetables in Italy 😂

Great food, tiny restaurant. We were walking past and were drawn by the floral exterior. Restaurant looked crowded and bustling during lunch, so we decided to give it a chance. Managed to get a seat with minimal wait. Food came quickly and was good. Wished we had space to try the Tiramisu. We saw many people ordering it.

The meat balls are so freaking good! Went here to kick off our Rome trip and oh my did we start with a banger! We had the meat balls in tomato sauce and their chicken and both were great. The chicken falls off the bone and the meat balls are not even remotely dry, but juicy and flavourful. Their bread makes for an excelent compliment to the meal to mop up the sauce with (which you will want to do). The restaurant has a nice cosy vibe.

Love this restaurant! My husband and I found this place in 2015 and have been back every time we have come to Rome. The vibe here is excellent and all the staff are so funny and nice. The food is incredible - our favourite is the truffle sausages!! We went last night for dinner and had the best time as always and I’m sure we will return again soon during our trip.

The place captured us from the outside right away - it has this stunning green charm that just sucks you in. Once you get inside you are greeted by an owner who loves what he does, singing and dancing and playing great music . Our server , Marco, was excellent and very kind to us, the food was some of the best Italy has to offer - with the meatballs being my personal fave.

If you want fast paced service this is definitely the place in Rome, we were sat down and drinking wine within 5 minutes. I had the Porchetta and my wife had the lasagna. I’m not joking I moaned and prayed after ever bite of the Porchetta. It’s my first time ever having it so I asked for the honey mustard that they offer upon request. I felt like I insulted them after I was finished. 100/10. Couldn’t asked for a better experience.

Trattoria Da Cesare al Casaletto is a charming spot located in the residential Monteverde area of Rome. This trattoria embodies the true essence of Italian dining with its unpretentious atmosphere and authentic, carefully crafted dishes. Run by the husband-wife team of Leonardo Vignoli and Maria Pia Cicconi, this place offers a delightful array of Roman antipasti, homemade pastas, meat and fish dishes, complemented by a selection of local wines.
The food is Roman style and the quality of the food it’s good. maybe the place it’s a bit noisy and owner should fix the acoustic. But this is bearable. We had a nice evening between old school friend and the environment it’s ok for such occasion. It’s second time we come here and not dissatisfied

Soo good, we came for dinner on a recommendation and it was delicious! Book one week in advance via their website. Everything was so good; we had fresh homemade mozzarella, fried meatballs with pesto, carbonara and oxtail sauce pasta, and tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert! Highly recommend :)
Meg L — Google review
We finally made it to Trattoria Da Cesare al Casaletto for a long-awaited Sunday lunch after dreaming about it for a year. This place is a true Roman institution, run like a well-oiled machine, with a lively, family-filled atmosphere that feels authentic and welcoming. The wine list is excellent—we especially loved our exquisite bottle of Etna Bianco. We enjoyed the supplì, squash blossoms, gricia, and ravioli, each dish showcasing the comforting flavors of Roman cooking. Watching families with babies gather around big Sunday meals added to the charm of the experience. Overall, a solid and memorable Roman lunch—classic, reliable, and full of energy.
Tanya C — Google review
Had a nice dinner here though my expectations were very high as the restaurant has excellent reviews, unfortunately I was a little let down. Actually it was rather nice to travel outside the city center, Cesare is extremely close to the final stop of the 8 tram and you get to see much more of the city and where people live coming here. Dinner started with a very nice basket of bread and we shared the eggplant croquettes and calamari fritti. The croquettes were interesting, with a nice spicy tomato sauce offset with mint. The calamari were outstanding, extremely well done. For our mains, I had the gnocchi with oxtail sugo which was really disappointing. The sauce was deep and delicious, and the gnocchi very well made however totally under salted. I wonder if they are used to salting this dish with pasta water when the rigatoni is selected? I needed to add cheese AND salt just to coax some flavor. I do like salty, though. My companions had Amitriciana and Gricia. Both were very good however an alarming amount of guanciale was used in the gricia and my companion said that is was too much and the balance of the dish was off because of it. We were a bit put off by the waiters constantly trying to remove our dishes. Like, fork still in hand and BOOM can I take your plate now? Then you have to wait 15 minutes for the bill haha. Well no one is perfect for sure. Overall it was a good experience and I’m happy we went and wish them many years of success!
Matthew P — Google review
Our main dishes of the evening were rigatoni alla Matriciana (that’s how it was spelled), gnocchi alla coda vaccinara and tonnarelli a la gricia. These were delicious with noted qualifications that the guanciale pieces with the tonnarelli were judged too large (!), the gnocchi were assessed under-salted while the coda vaccinara sauce seemed a little thin, and my serving of rigatoni was enormous (no complaint there). Read more at: https://www.painperdutravel.com It was a very successful evening and an excellent meal for 3 at only 81 euros.

The Heart of Roman Trattoria Dining Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars Stepping into Da Cesare al Casaletto felt like stepping into the quintessential Roman experience. This is more than just a restaurant; it is a living, breathing trattoria with a typical Roman spirit that envelops. The Authentic Experience: The menu is a showcase of typical Roman dishes—the classics like Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, Gricia are all executed to almost perfection. Every plate arrives hot, bursting with authentic flavor, and prepared with a dedication to tradition that will truly satisfy every palate. Adding to the wonderful authenticity, the staff is staff is nice, warm, attentive, and helpful. Wine & Verdict: Beyond the food, the wine list is excellent. It is extensive, thoughtfully curated, and focuses on quality, value, and artisanal/natural wines, offering great pairings for the hearty Roman cuisine. While one can certainly find more expensive restaurants of comparable food quality in Rome, Da Cesare al Casaletto offers a combination of authenticity, traditional food, an excellent wine selection. If you are in the area, this place indeed deserves a visit. It is a genuine taste of Rome that you will not forget. Assolutamente fantastico!

Wonderful ppace with great food and service. We had the pizza rossa, veal roll and seafood pasta, finished with the desert selection. Best food I've had in Rome. Very friendly staff, they made smaller portions of the fried gnocchi and beef croquettas for us to try; both well made.

The Cosmopolita Hotel is a great place to stay in Rome, with warm rooms and an upscale bar. There's also a business center and a terrace.
My husband and I stayed here and the service was wonderful. Front desk is incredibly kind and accommodating. They offered great recommendations since it was our first time in Rome and booked them for us as well as offering to book dinner reservations. They insisted on bringing us wine glasses instead of standard water glasses in the room when they saw us enter with a bottle of wine. Overall very clean and friendly, and walking distance from SO many great places.

Location is everything, but I write this review for Elite members just on a good to know basis. Your status here doesn’t hold any value; as a lifetime Diamond Elite you don’t feel any appreciation or special welcome. You might as well have booked through cheaphotels.com, it would not have made any difference. Upon check in I was assigned a room on the first floor on a corner with a very noisy road. The first night I was constantly woken up and unable to get any rest after a 20 hours trip. The next day I complained and was able to get a better and quieter room; this is when I realized that the previous room wasn’t just noisy but also outdated and cheaply set up. My reservation was made weeks in advance, not last minute. There is no justification for the top tier elite status holder to be handled so cheaply.

Amazing location - within 10 minutes to the Colosseum, the Forum is almost right outside the door, and in good proximity to all the other top sites in Rome. The hotel is clean, in good shape, and has good service. This is not the hotel to choose if you want a fancy and pampered stay - this is the hotel to choose if you want to visit the city! Nothing beats being able to hit one of Rome's sites and then be able to quickly walk back to your hotel to rest and recharge. Similar to the hotel overall, the breakfast is nothing remarkable - but it does have an amazing view from the rooftop terrace. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a centralized base in Rome to explore and live the dolce vita
Michael H — Google review
Great location of the hotel. Rooms are nice. Ours smelled slightly of cigarette smoke upon arrival. The bathrooms are TINY, smallest we have ever had in Europe. The room was great and a good view. However, we asked for our bedding to be changed out 3 times and they never did. The rooftop terrace was heavily advertised but it is only open during breakfast. Otherwise you can't use it. The front desk was friendly but just never followed through with cleaning our room. This is a great budget friendly place with a good location, but definitely not luxury. Oh yeah, and the fire alarm went off at 4am in the morning one night and they never told us why or apologized for it. Just sent us back to our rooms after getting us all out of bed at 4am.
Shay T — Google review
I stayed at this hotel in Sept 2025 and was pleased with everything (bed and pillows were comfortable; breakfast was ok). I requested suggestions for a nearby spa and the front desk staff recommended Artemís Spa, which was about a 15-minute walk (good suggestion). I loved the hotel's location—it was conveniently close to many restaurants and even a wax museum. I’ll likely choose this spot again the next time I visit Rome.
Marshay M — Google review
Recently stayed here on points and to be honest expected a lot more from a Hilton Tapestry collection. As the other reviews mentioned, the rooms are quite small but they’re honestly not that much smaller than most rooms in Roma, so that shouldn’t be a deterrent. The price you pay is for the absolute best central location you could ask for - regardless of your plans in Rome. The hotel scores an A+ in walkability and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better breakfast view. Was the breakfast the best? No way, was the view at breakfast one of the highlights of our trip? Absolutely. Recommend this hotel for people only looking for a place to sleep at night after a day of exploring. No frills or romantic touches at this location. If you can get a deal and looking for a clean hotel to recharge before doing it all over again, we’d recommend it. Come here to sleep but stay for the breakfast view.
Chris J — Google review
The remodel done a few years ago has brought the property up to a very contemporary look. In doing so, the rooms are smaller (12’x10’) in my case with the shower a mere 30”x30”. Storing suitcases and clothes are challenging. No drawers leaving suitcases on the floor of a small area. Staff was helpful, breakfast was very satisfying. Good location as well.

Torcè, founded by Claudio Torce, has played a significant role in elevating Rome's gelato culture. With over 100 all-natural flavors, including traditional options like chocolate and strawberry as well as unique ones such as Sichuan pepper and black sesame, the gelateria offers an extensive selection. Torce is known for his inventive creations that blend sweet and savory flavors like gorgonzola or mortadella and pistachio, even carbonara.
Very good ice-creams in Rome. For three tastes you will pay 4€, staff is speaking English. Ice-creams are stored in metal containers to preserve better, natural taste. Store is close to metro station Circo Massimo. My favorite taste is for sure 🍋. For hot weather I’m recommend to choose sorbets instead of milky ice-creams but all of them are tasty.

Gelato was tasty and delicious. 3 scoops for 4 euros, 2 scoops for 3 euros. Many delicious flavours available, even odd ones like celery. The staff are friendly and kind. There is not a lot of room inside to sit and there. So you have to leave for space. Lots of shade around outside.

Clearly labelled non-dairy/vegan options. I had the lemon and raspberry and after 3 days of gelato I can confidently say this sorbet was my favourite. Not to mention you get half scoops so we could try two flavours for the single scoop which was just a perfect introduction for us and hard to beat

This place has the best coconut gelato in Italy🥥 Got real coconut pieces and amazing flavor. I liked it so much and literally ran back for a second one, but ended up getting some on my dress. The lady was so sweet! She even helped me clean it up. Such a heart warming moment in my trip🩷

I love this gelateria because it has a lot of unusual flavors, and they are all very delicious. I hope to visit Rome next year and go to this gelateria again. 🤗 P.S. You should try the ginger and celery flavor too.

I came here because I found out that I can find very particular flavors in this place. That’s 100% truth, the flavors are really original and particular. I took 3 scoops: Cacio e pepe (cheese with pepper) Celeri And black sesame The ice cream was really good, I’d like to come other flavors as well. Why did I take 1* off ? - I asked to try 1 flavor because I wasn’t sure I want it, it seemed a bit ordinary for me. But I’ve been told that it’s not possible to try anything. Without any explanation. Just “no, non possibile” In opinion it’s a bit weird, especially considering the fact that the flavors are really particular. And even if they would be ordinary, I think it’s normal to understand if you like the taste or not 🤷‍♀️
Olga V — Google review
Easily the best gelateria I’ve been to when in Rome. I was recommended the ginger & cinnamon and orange & almond flavours. One of the best flavours and combinations I have ever tasted. Truly a dream!
Matthijs — Google review
Very tasty, gelato. Currently, 2 scoops 3€, 3 scoops 4€, 4 scoops 5€, and so on up to 6 scoops. Really quaint and located in asemi- residential area. You know the place is auténtico because their gelato is covered and no display of it until the lid comes off to serve. It's worth the walk from the colosseum, about 25 minutes.

This upscale hotel features elegant rooms and suites, some with stunning views from private balconies. Guests can indulge in a delightful breakfast buffet on the rooftop garden while soaking in classic vistas of iconic landmarks like the Colosseum and Roman Forum, just a short stroll away. The Inn is not only about comfort; it also boasts an intriguing ancient crypt that adds to its charm.
I would highly recommend the Inn at the Roman Forum. The location is wonderful and right in the heart of many activities, restaurants, and popular sites. The staff is exceptional. My husband became ill while we were over there, and they assisted me greatly. The bellman even accompanied me to a nearby pharmacy to help me translate our medical needs to the pharmacist. The concierge was always available for anything that we needed and went above and beyond to secure a local health clinic so that my husband could seek medical attention. The rest of the was amazing offering very personalized service. We really enjoyed breakfast each morning and being greeted every time we entered and exited the hotel. I look forward to returning there any time we are in Rome again.

A hidden gem. If I walked by not knowing, I'd never guess this is a hotel and I mean that as a compliment. Up a small cobblestone dead end so be sure your driver is willing to drop you and your luggage all the way up to the door. We had no issues with this. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable - something I was pleasantly surprised to find. But the real gems here are the staff members. Everyone is so accommodating, welcoming and super helpful. Helped us get drivers when we needed and when the app wasn't helpful for a taxi, a staff member walked us all the way to the taxi stand so we wouldn't get lost. Highly recommend this hotel! We were a family of 4 and split between two rooms.

This place is one of the best hotels in Rome. I stayed here with Costco travel and could tell I was living in luxury the moment I walked in. I highly recommend this location.

We booked The Inn at Roman Forum to celebrate our honeymoon in Rome and it was perfect! They staff was very prompt, helpful and professional. The location was incredible. They made travel to and from seamless with transfer services to the airport. We were greeted with tiramisu in a very authentic Roman seating area while they set us up at check in. We got early check in with no hassle. There is a pretty rooftop terrace for breakfast! We highly recommend this hotel!

My experience at the Inn at the Roman forum was hands-down 5+ stars! First, its location is amazing, very central and convenient right in the gorgeous Monti neighborhood whose picturesque streets are full of cute shops, restaurants and next to all of Romes main monuments and attractions. Then the room was perfect, big with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful ceiling with wood beams that you made you feel very cosy and relaxed after a full day of wondering around the city. Then there is the hotels AMAZING terrace where you can have your breakfast or aperitivo with a breathtaking view of the eternal city’s architecture under a wonderful Roman sunset. Another thing that makes this place unique are the ancient catacombs under the hotel which one can access and walk around and also chill in some super cosy lounging areas, feeling transported to another era, super cool! Last but not least I just wanted to say that the experience wouldn’t have been the same without the hotel’s excellent staff which were super nice, friendly and accommodating in anything we needed during our stay. One couldnt ask for more really! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a 5 star experience in Rome and personally I can’t wait to go back and stay there again 🌟

My wife and I stayed at this small luxury boutique hotel to celebrate my milestone birthday recently. The Inn at the Roman Forum. only has a handful of rooms. Our room was spaciously comfortable albeit not as luxurious as some hotels we are familiar with. The bathroom was okay although a shower over the bath could be a problem for someone with mobility issues. There is a small restaurant on the fourth floor which serves breakfast only. Breakfast is à la carte consisting of the usual fare you would expect. Hot breakfast meals are cooked to order. The staff in the restaurant are all very friendly and obliging. That goes for all the staff in the hotel. There's a roof garden which we used late in the afternoons before we were told it was the exclusive use of two rooms with direct access to it. The photos on the website are taken from the outdoor part of the restaurant. Location wise, I doubt you could do any better. The hotel is in an old house and within easy walking distance of the Colosseum. The surrounding area around the hotel is a hive of activity with a plethora of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.. Would we stay there again? Why not?! There was nothing not to like about this hotel. Price wise, like everything in Rome, it is not cheap. But if you are looking for something a bit different and you want to treat yourself, definitely consider this hotel.
