The Beach Bucket is a charming spot located near St. Josephs Silver Beach and Warren Dunes in Michigan. It offers a stunning view of the colorful dusk sky and the picturesque lighthouse pier. The place is known for its fantastic service, offering a wide variety of ice cream flavors including unique ones like Wizards Brew and butter beer with butterscotch bits. In addition to 60 different scoop ice cream flavors, they also serve sorbet, bubble tea, shakes, and delicious fudge.
Ice cream was amazing!!! I got a small cup with half sea monster and half sea salt caramel, both were delicious! My husband got cherry and it was delicious too! We got a bag of the cheesier cheese popcorn and garlic parmesan popcorn. Both flavors were just okay. We will definitely come back for the ice cream! Friendly and fast service!
Alicia — Google review
This place has hole-in-the-wall character and with awesome food and so much variety for ice cream! If you're at Warren Dunes then make sure to stop by. I had the jalepeno burger and it was amazing. The other food was great as well!
Brian H — Google review
Absolutely fantastic ice cream spot! Great for family's with kids especially the outdoor seating. Every flavor we tried was impeccable and the ice cream flight was perfect to try a wide variety of the decadent treats. The fast and friendly service was perfect. Our stand out flavors where the 'Sort of sweet, sort of Beth Dutton', cookie monster, and the BEST blue moon i've ever had. We will definitely be returning!
Kathryn F — Google review
Everything they do - they do well - and they do a lot!! Walking distance of the tiny house village, fair prices, wonderful ice cream, great breakfast burritos, nachos are fantastic, fudge is delicious, and the staff are great! We ate there several times through our stay, and loved it every time!
Brandon S — Google review
Incredible selection! I tried several samples and finally decided on two scoops, one was raspberry truffle and the other was Huckleberry. Really tasty! You can tell it's really good quality ice cream. Nothing freezer-burned. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing and the place was still pretty busy, so it's super popular and super delish!
Rachel O — Google review
What a treat ! Can not say enough about this place !! Ice cream is the best and owners are even better . Our place was very clean and comfortable. You will not go wrong at the Beach Bucket!!!
Richard O — Google review
Great ice cream options. Friendly staff, parking is limited. Cheap prices.
Sean G — Google review
This place had a ton of different, unique flavors (including some seasonal options). There is also an enormous number of soft serve, which was cool. I ended up going with the chocolicious flavor (chocolate ice cream with oreo, chocolate, and fudge) and it was quite good. Very reasonably priced as well.

Chocolate shop
Kilwins St. Joseph is a charming store that offers a delightful selection of chocolates, confections, and fudge, along with their original recipe ice cream. Visitors of all ages can't resist the temptation to indulge in their creamy caramel-coated apples or crunchy caramel corn. The store's candy and ice cream-filled glass cases make it challenging to choose just one treat.
We first discovered kilwins when we were on vacation traveling through the state of michigan a few years ago. The first store we encountered was in St. Joseph, Michigan. Thinking that these stores were only native to Michigan, we purchased some of their delicious fudge. Lo and behold shortly after we returned to Chicago, we found out that there are several in Illinois including 5 in Chicago.
Jane V — Google review
The fresh waffle cones are delicious, and the ice cream is some of the best. The store smells amazing.
Melissa H — Google review
A Sweet Downtown Delight! 🍦🍫🍬 Absolutely worth the wait! ⏳🍨 Located right in the heart of all the downtown action, Kilwins is a must-stop spot for anyone craving something cold, creamy, and oh-so-delicious. 😋💖 The flavors are insanely tasty — think rich chocolate, buttery fudge, and fruity scoops that melt perfectly in your mouth! 🍓🍫🥥 Yes, the line can be 30+ minutes long 🐍⏰ (especially on warm nights with tourists buzzing around), but honestly… it just adds to the fun! 🎉 People-watching, sweet smells wafting through the air, and the excitement of picking your flavor all make it an experience — not just a treat. 🎈👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌆 Open late, always busy, and totally worth it. If you’re downtown, don’t skip it! 🏙️🍦❤️

Chocolate Heaven. I can't wait to visit this place again. The staff was so friendly. The gentleman that assisted me had me sample almost every ice cream flavor, so yummy. I can't to go back to get the peppermint ice cream. Your sweet tooth would be satisfied 😋
Too L — Google review
Kilwins has always been a staple visit for our family when we are in St. Joe. After tonight though, we won’t be back. The price for their ice cream does not justify what you get. Tonight, my entire cone was EMPTY with one scoop sitting on top. I paid almost $8 for this. For my family of five, our bill came out to almost $50. I asked the server if it was normal to have an empty ice cream cone and was told that yes, it is, since the ice cream is hard and they don’t want to break the cone to push it down. Most ice cream places would put small scoops in to fill the cone and then give you one scoop on top to complete the serving. I’ve never paid so much and gotten so little. We left feeling ripped off and disappointed. We’ll be finding a new go to ice cream place in town in the future.
Stephanie R — Google review
Delicious ice cream, fudge, carmel apples and more! Kilwins is a MUST whenever we are nearby. Highly recommended!
James M — Google review
I love the ice cream it is so fresh and soft. The fudge is tasty, it is really cool that you get to see them make the fudge homemade. There are lots of options for ice cream. It is also nice that it's in a small town so, you can eat your ice cream and walk around.
Amelia R — Google review
You wait in line … politely ask if the establishment offers a pup cup… you are assured that yes they do! You go to the register to be told that they don’t sell a pup cup and are charged almost $7 for a half scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Oink’s Dutch Treat Ice Cream – New Buffalo, MI 👍👍👍👍👍 A staple of summer tourism in New Buffalo, Oink’s Dutch Treat is more than just an ice cream shop—it’s a nostalgic destination. Open since 1987, it’s known for its whimsical pig-themed decor, massive flavor variety, and long lines that are well worth the wait. Both locals and tourists flock here after beach days or meals at nearby restaurants, making it a must-stop for visitors exploring Southwest Michigan. Visited on 02/19/2025 Lovely little ice cream parlor with lots of oink-related memorabilia! Not something you see anywhere else! The ceiling is decorated with timepiece ice cream scoops, too! I counted an impressive 49 flavors of ice cream while enjoying our ice cream inside. Surely, there’s something for everyone. There are so many unique and fun flavors too, which I wished I tasted all. Another reason to come back another time! We enjoyed our delicious and creamy ice cream and would be back again!
Jevy C — Google review
The ice cream here is just ok since it’s gummy with fillers and a little too sweet, but I’m not mad about it since the overall atmosphere is so iconic and joyful. And they will split a single scoop with two flavors which is kind of them. It’s a nice little ice cream oasis for the family and an Americana curiosity of anything pig collection related. I hope this place stays here forever.
Heather F — Google review
They have interesting flavors and some of the usuals also but I have not had a bad flavor yet ,the staff are always pleasant and helpful, if you are unsure of what you want They can suggest you different choices or you can try a sample. The cones are delicious but my favorite is the waffle cones for my dessert choices, if you have never had the chance to see the inside of the ice cream shop it's worth a stop by the walls and ceilings are covered in ice-cream items
Me N — Google review
Such an eclectic ice cream parlor! Really cute vibes inside and they have a ton of flavors. I got the carrot cake ice cream and it was thick, creamy, and just good all the way around.

This place was very quirky and very nostalgic they had piggy decor overload and I absolutely loved it! I had the pistachio almond ice cream it was really good! Definitely is a must when coming to New Buffalo.
Karina R — Google review
If you’re anywhere near New Buffalo, a stop at Oinks Ice Cream is a must! This place is full of charm and nostalgia—from the vintage decor and pig-themed everything to the massive selection of ice cream flavors. It’s the kind of spot that instantly transports you to a carefree summer day, no matter your age. We tried several flavors, and each one was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The staff was super friendly and patient as we took forever to decide what we wanted. The atmosphere is fun, quirky, and totally family-friendly—our kids were obsessed with the pig collectibles covering the walls. It’s a New Buffalo classic for a reason. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Oinks is the perfect sweet stop after a beach day or evening stroll.

A cute vintage pig themed ice cream shop. Lots of flavors with creative names. Ice cream was good but nothing out of this world. It's a small space and I went on a busy night so we were packed like sardines. Service was fast but I kinda felt rushed.

The Harbert Swedish Bakery is a popular bakery in Michigan that features classic American breakfast and lunch fare made with organic ingredients. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, no matter how busy it may be. Luisa's Cafe, located just down the street from the bakery, also offers delicious food made with organic ingredients.
Holy options! There are 3 different areas; one for breakfast and coffee, one for pastries and one for coffee. We stayed for breakfast. The Swedish pancakes were so good, they were very buttery - I felt they could’ve used a bit more jam, but so delicious. My husband had the carrot waffle - he said it had a lot of carrot flavor and had a nice crisp. The coffee was the perfect combo of sweet and strong.
Taylor — Google review
This place has the best coffee ever!!! I’m not a coffee drinker but I guess I’ll be joining the club now. It was the best I’ve ever had. I went with 2 more friends from Chicago and they also both said this coffee tastes so different and smooth. Vivian was really pleasant and made us fill like home. While we were waiting for our order she gave us some cinnamon that was so fresh made and delicious. THANK YOU!!!
ArzetHVAC — Google review
Very nice place with delicious food but The portions are quite small for the price, but everything is good and tasty. Be prepared to be surprised by the wait times during peak hours. You order your food at the cash register first, and then wait for a table. This is quite strange and causes a lot of chaos. I don't know why the owners stick to this system. It's worth to mention that they have delicious pastry
Kacper123ful — Google review
We went in on a whim about an hour before they closed on a Saturday afternoon. The cake donuts were FANTASTIC! I wish we had bought more! Lol But, we also wanted to try the State of Michigan shaped cookies(one sugar and one ginger molasses) and a jumbo toffee cookie. Here are my humble opinions on each: Sugar Cookie - baked perfectly, soft, but didn't taste like real butter was used. I'm spoiled on my own homemade sugar cookies. Ginger Molasses - also perfectly baked and soft, but not spicy enough for me. I wanted more ginger and more molasses flavor. Both cookies - being part Yooper, I'm sad that da UP is missing, eh. 😉 Jumbo Toffee - the white chocolate chips inside take away from the toffee flavor. Plus, I've never really been a fan of white chocolate. Cake donuts - phenomenal in every way, and I want more already. 😁 Their hours of operation are limited, so be sure to check if they're open before going. We will definitely be back, thank you!
Suomirakastaa — Google review
This is an insanely good country bakery food experience. While it may seem crowded, the staff keeps things organized, yet you still feel like you're getting a personal experience. The bread and pasteries are all fresh and top-rate. Our breakfast was so good we came a second straight day, enjoying the quiche (OMG), carrot cake waffle and other indulgences. Friendly service and pleasant seating both inside and outside. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
Andy F — Google review
The salted toffee cookie is amazing. It was one of my favorite things to look forward to when visiting the area. However this year the service has not been nice. Earlier in the summer the cashier taking orders for dining room like 15 minutes to take an order from people in front of of us when it was jam packed. Revisited in Aug 24th. Not busy at all. My friend requested a box as she ordered multiple things and we were traveling. Employee, larger woman with multi colored hair scarf, literally rolled her eyes at her. Then the same cashier who took forever taking someones order before, says to my friend are you done with your order? I need to ring these people up. WHAT? Absolutely rude. Yeah it's busy there, I get it but I think it's been that way for years. So if you can handle the heat get out of the bakery. I don't know if I can go back after being treated poorly.
J R — Google review
I rarely review food because my standards are high. This place knocks it or off the park. Swedish pancakes with a giant dollop of butter. Thick bacon perfectly cooked. Anything from the bakery is out of sight. That’s hard to accomplish. Usually places are ‘known for their ___’. Known for everything is great here.
Kelly R — Google review
Wow such good pastries!! The chocolate chip cookie was amazing. I got two. The plain croissant was AMAZING. I wanted to go back but they were closed the days we were in Michigan. The workers were friendly and patient for us to order. Can’t wait to come back.

Bit of Swiss is a charming bakery that exudes an old-world charm and offers a delectable selection of European pastries, artisanal breads, and cakes. Customers have raved about the intricate farewell cake with special frosting and heartfelt messages, as well as the red velvet cheesecake. The bakery's pastries are described as out of this world, with recommendations to try the ham and cheese croissant and Danish. Visitors praise the excellent service and top-notch baked goods at reasonable prices.
Love this place! I bought my wedding cake from here in 2022 which was beautiful and well priced. We visit every year for our anniversary and always grab cupcakes, freshly baked bread and coffee. Made a special trip recently for Valentine’s Day ❤️❤️❤️

Wonderfully delicious yesterday, today and hopefully tomorrow. International award winning recipes on the edge of a food dessert. I have patronized this bakery for a number of years. QUALITY a one word description.Artistic designs sinfully appealing. Tasty anticipation awaits until disaster strikes when four dreaded words strike “WE ARE SOLD OUT” minus one star….. P.S. get there early😊

I can’t say enough good things about Bit Of Swiss. It’s a charming little bakery with all kinds of delicious goodies. I went here today because I had a hankering for their bakery treats. It’s worth the drive for me. The staff is so kind and patient. They’ve never been rude or unkind to me whenever I’ve gone in here. I feel like my absolute favorite time was when they made these delicious peanut butter chocolate croissants for Ukraine. And then they donated the money to help the Ukraine, too. I stopped in today for the limoncello bundt cake. Usually, bundts are dry in my past experiences. Not this bundt. No way. It was soft and airy. Just nothing short of amazing! I like big bundts (in this case, little bundts) and I cannot lie. Bit Of Swiss is where it’s at. Do yourself a favor and check them out. They’re amazing. And it smells amazing heading into the bakery too. You won’t regret it.

Bit of Swiss is near and dear to my heart. As a child, my Grandma used to get my birthday cakes from here almost every birthday. I had the opportunity to bring my Grandson here and not only get the vanilla barvarian cake but a few other sweet treats. I try and visit here whenever I can ❤️

We stopped by this bakery on a whim leaving St Joe's and heading back to Chicago. I cant believe we almost missed it. They had a large selection of items, in the cutest neighborhood - I wish we could move there lol. Staff was friendly, we got a few things for family as well - croissants, tarts, cakes,.muffins, scones all sorts! It's worth a stop. Add it to your list!

What a treasure to have this bakery in the community for so many years. The continued high standard of their craft is amazing. We recently went, as my wife came back to the house where she grew up, just down the hill, and it was just as good for me the first time as it was for her after spending half her childhood and allowance coming here after school. Amazing staff and team and so welcoming for us to come back here.

Ir's a good bakery, not really great but the best in the area. Croissant was good but didn't have many folds so the inside pastry was missing densiry. Slightly overcooked. It's a small place but bery pleasant. Lots of sweet pastries.

Ice cream was fantastic, the staff is young and seemingly inexperienced in the ways of excellent customer service. One girl in particular was rather negative, I actually stopped asking her for an opinion because she actually talked me out of two flavors. I later returned to try one of them and was very pleased. Thank you for a quality product.

Our kids love this place and we’ve long been fans. But I really want to commend them in regards to their handling of the COVID situation. They’ve taken extreme caution in protecting both their employees and the customer, at a time when many of their neighboring establishments do not seem as precautious. Because of that, we now ONLY go to Beachside Scoops (whereas before we did a rotation) because we feel they’re the safest of all of the ice cream establishments. Also, we get regular demands for Beachside Scoops because the Cotton Candy ice cream is the #1 most requested ice cream out of any ice cream anywhere!

The Chocolate Cafe in Downtown St Joseph is a must-visit for chocolate lovers of all kinds. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere, while the impeccable presentation and amazing drinks set it apart. Although pets are not allowed inside, outdoor seating is available. Visitors praise the prompt and attentive service, with special mention of the helpful and patient staff. The cafe offers a variety of desserts, including delicious ice cream and wonderful cheesecake at great value.
What a great little shop. They have a grill that looks inviting, but we were there for treats. The hot chocolate is phenomenal. It is really rich and the first drink didn't scald my mouth like many experiences with hot chocolate elsewhere. Plenty of chocolate options, fudge, and ice cream.

Excellent shop with plenty delicious baked goods and drinks to make your day better. My first visit I enjoyed an iced mocha and it was delicious. The service was impeccable and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The windows bring in the light so you can relax and enjoy reading, working or just watch people walk by. Being on the corner gains a lot of exposure and makes it easy to get in and out. Definitely recommend to others who love cafes. Looking forward to my next visit.

I went there looking for a drink and discovered a wonderful variety of chocolates and snacks. They were offering a pumpkin spice sample, which was absolutely delicious. I got a dark chocolate drink to go, it smelled amazing and was such a treat. This place not only smelled delicious but also looked cozy. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I had such a great experience that I decided to come back the next day with my boyfriend so he could enjoy it too.

I stopped by for a bite to eat and had a good time. The staff was attentive and served me quickly, and there were lots of great desserts to try. I ordered a slice of the New York cheesecake with a cafe au lait, and both were excellent. The coffee was smooth enough not to need any sweetener, and the cheesecake was rich. It was a bit pricey, but it tasted great. The space was roomy but warm, and had great views of the streets.

Chocolate Cafe is a total gem! This place is so much more than just a cafe — it’s a full-on dessert experience. Everything is large, indulgent, and made with care. The unique combinations like cherries, chocolate, and cheesecake are rich, creative, and absolutely delicious. Their fresh-made coffee pairs perfectly with the treats, and the ice cream is a must-try — creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the staff could not have been friendlier. Service was fast, helpful, and genuine. Considering it’s located in a busy downtown area, the pricing is surprisingly affordable — you get a lot of quality for what you pay. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re a local or just passing through. A special place for anyone who loves desserts done right.

we truly enjoyed our time here!! our first experience and it was awesome and so was the taste and smells around us!!! Coffee, Chocolate, Ice Cream and all the goodies a beach town needs!! The only advice we have for the owners/management is when very busy keep someone nearby watching the not so honest customers who we watched take advantage of your hard working staff!! Otherwise such a great night out with my family and we will back for so much more soon!!!!
Steven M — Google review
We have frequented this cafe on numerous occasions. Sometimes the wait is ridiculous, not because of the line but rather the very slow extra chatty staff. Other times we are in and out with a pleasant experience, each time varies. Now for the delicacies; the cheesecake though pricey is very much worth it, the chocolate dipped fork is a nice touch. The hot chocolate is my husbands favorite and he raves over it, for me it gives a stomach ache from how sweet and heavy it is. Definitely true hot chocolate, no cheap mix here. The atmosphere is pleasant, with many windows of the corner shop making for a bright and sometimes entertaining time. Pay to park or walk a short ways. Overall, I recommended visiting.

Hardly any ice cream. One ice cream freezer was empty and the other had 5 flavors with hardly anything in them. Was told there was no caramel for a Sunday, but suddenly another worker found some. Mmmmmmm. The place had a lot of customers. Only one person trying to wait on a lot of people, finally another person came out of who knows where. We had ONLY one out of 4 decide to get anything. The one got a caramel Sunday took a few bites and said it was not good and trashed it. Very BAD service. We were visiting from Tennessee and we have been here at the Cafe before, but WOW what a disappointment.

When you find yourself in a beach town, a visit to Cabanas Ice Cream & More is an absolute must for any ice cream enthusiast. This charming spot boasts an impressive array of flavors, ensuring that everyone can find something they love—perfect for sharing with the little ones, even if their choices are sometimes surprising! The homemade ice cream here stands out from typical chain offerings, delivering a fresher and more authentic taste that will leave your taste buds dancing.
This is my favorite ice cream place in all of St Joe. The staff there is very friendly. I love the banana pudding ice cream.
Maddy M — Google review
I would love to give this place a better review because St Joe's is such a great town to visit my family. Went for ice cream last Saturday during the car show, I ordered lavender honey. Lavender is one of my favorite flavors so of course I had to try it. Well there was absolutely NO lavender flavor in this ice cream. After taking 2 bites I did go back and ask if it was just lavender color or was it supposed to have lavender flavor. The young girl asked a young man and he said lavender flavor. I replied there was absolutely non, could I get a scoop of a different flavor since it just tasted like vanilla. He said no, and that was it. Absolutely NO customer service! Didn't care if the ice cream didn't taste like it was supposed to. As a former business owner I would have gladly given a scoop to make a happy customer. Maybe educate your employees on good service.
Dawn B — Google review
I walked in as they were closing. I feel 8 pm when the sunset is at 7:45 is a bit early to close. But I made it. The ice cream was smooth, creamy, delish! I had the hard serve as soft serve was not available. Premium ice cream for sure. Fantastic! Staff was nice and friendly. Place is clean and welcoming. Would recommend!
NoShy1 G — Google review
Best ice cream in the area. Long line but they get through it fast and it is well worth it. Great choice of ice creams. Also, can get a shake or malt which I get the latter. Carrot cake ice cream is phenomenal. Prices are fair. Also little treats you can buy there as well. Definitely recommend.
Matt M — Google review
I had an absolute blast while getting ice cream from cabanas, not only are the staff incredibly friendly, they are also super helpful and easy going. I had the pleasure of being served by the one and only Braxton Black. I would absolutely recommend coming back for a sweet treat!!!
Raymond R — Google review
This is a great spot for ice cream lovers, offering a wide variety of both hard and soft serve flavors, along with a solid selection of smoothies. The ice cream is homemade, which sets it apart from chains like Kilwins and gives it a noticeably fresher, more authentic taste. Unfortunately, during my visit, the soft serve machine was out of order—similar to what you’d expect at a local McDonald’s—which was a bit disappointing. Still, the quality of the hard ice cream and the range of flavors made up for it.
Hayden — Google review
Lots of choices! The ice cream was delicious and prices are comparable to other shops. I got a kids size scoop and it was more than enough. Line was long but it moved. They even have a section of seating for kids which is cute.
Amanda D — Google review
Lots of variety in terms of ice cream. Something I don’t see much was soft serve option of tons of flavors. Few seating options inside. great place to stop by in summer or late night treat Plenty of parking in the area

Pumpernickel was the best ice cream spot i found all summer. I LOVE the owner and workers there and they are all very friendly and patient. All of the ice cream is great and I went most days of the summer. Super cute inside and out. Will be returning all the time next summer!!

LOVE Izzy’s. Best gelato ever! And my Mom said the Tahitian vanilla was better than some of the gelato she had in actual Italy. Don’t be afraid to choose without a sample (thanks, C19), anything you go with is going to be fresh and delicious. I also wanted to respond to a few of the reviews because I can personally contend their negative comments. First of all, the portions are not small. They’re very normal, and actually bigger than a lot of places (try getting a scoop at any Chicagoland Baskin Robbins and you’ll see what I’m talking about). Secondly, the prices are not unreasonable. They are actually better than some other establishments in the area. And lastly, the owner is not rude. He’s just a very straightforward gentleman. We’ve encountered actual rude people just down the street (I won’t say where because I avoid negative reviews unless something truly egregious happened or if I feel people need to know what they’re getting into before spending their hard earned money). Anyway I’m done I just wanted to thank Izzys for being around and being consistently excellent dessert!

I stopped at this place randomly and I had no idea it existed recently, I ordered the raspberry gelato in a waffle cone one scoop and my boyfriend ordered one chocolate scoop in a waffle cone and it came to almost 14 dollars, they have the best gelato but the prices are a little to high, I understand in these times though you need to keep up and with the covid disaster I am happy you are still here. Thanks for the treat!

Cute little gelato and treat shop, very reasonable prices for very tasty, creamy gelato. They even had wrapped frozen treats that were safe for my child with food allergies, always a plus. We went there multiple evenings during our stay in Union Pier.

Delicious gelato in this unassuming little shop. I tried the Peanut Butter Reese's Cup and the Salted Caramel Pretzel Fudge and both were fantastic. Other members of our party had the Caramel Praline and Triple Dark Chocolate and had great things to say about both! A small patio allows you to enjoy the gelato outside or you can sit down in the shop itself to escape the heat.

Golden Brown Bakery, Inc. is a delightful establishment that offers delectable pastries. The turnover of their goods is exceptional, reflecting the quality of their recipes. It is a wonderful place to meet friends for a treat and some coffee, exuding hometown vibes in downtown St Joseph. Their cake donuts and thumbprint cookies are particularly outstanding. Additionally, the butter cookies have an irresistible taste that leaves you wanting more. This bakery showcases an old-fashioned style that sets it apart from others.
Leslie makes the best lattes. Super kind, helpful staff. This bakery has the very best pastries and donuts, baked fresh daily. Love going here everytime I visit South Haven. ❤️

Just plain good. I bought a couple pastries to bring to my kids and ate them all myself like an animal in the woods. The better the turn-over of goods the better the turn- over. Keep going- keep buying- their recipes are exceptional. If you dont like it the shut your von trap. I like it and it better be there the next time I'm in town.

The donuts were sub-par. The cinnamon roll was average at best. The coffee was awful. The service? I didn't feel welcomed. It could have been just me. She did check to see if my $10 was counterfeit though, which I had never seen done before.

This review is only for the breakfast. Service was good. There's a nice little place to sit with a pleasant view of town. Although the coolers were noisy, we could converse. Coffee was too weak for our taste. Although the breakfast sandwiches were reasonably good, some items were obviously not made right there; for example, the hash browns were rectangular,

I got their BLT and it was delicious. You get to pick between white, wheat, or (I think) rye bread. You get a generous amount of bacon, a pickle, and potato chips. I ate the sandwich and pickle and I was full. The sandwich was bigger than I expected and was only $6! Delicious.
Paris B — Google review
It was cozy and had quite a large sit down menu for a bakery. Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious. We were just disappointed in the freshness, texture and flavor of the cookies. Which included the frosted and the regular round ones.
Audette B — Google review
My husband and I have been down with the flu over the past week, and although I never lost my appetite, he lost his. When he finally felt like eating something, he asked for an apple or cherry turnover. I said I would see if I could find some and he said you won't find any. I went to Golden Brown Bakery and there they were, both kinds! I was so happy that I could bring him something that he was actually hungry for. I knew that I would find them at Golden Brown Bakery, they have never failed to have what I was looking for.

Black Currant Bakehouse is a bakery that provides amazing desserts and coffee. They are great for weddings because they have a variety of flavors and options. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options.
Katie and Black Currant catered our dessert table for our wedding in August. I would give her more stars if I could. Everyone has been to a wedding where the dessert has been less than impressive….well this was not the case with Katie’s desserts. We got compliment after compliment. Our only regret was not ordering more because our dessert table was completely empty within 30 minutes. Even the tasting was so much fun, and we were given so many samples we couldn’t even finish. Her flavors, options, and professionalism are unmatched. She was so easy to work with. Thank you so much!!

We got married on June 1st 2025 and we chose Black Currant Bakehouse for our cake and a couple of cupcakes! The tasting process was seamless, communication was great, and Katie and the staff were wonderful! Nothing but kindness and professionalism throughout the entire experience. Black Currant is incredibly accommodating with so many awesome vegan options that taste absolutely wonderful. I was so happy with our cake and it was genuinely one of the most delicious and beautiful pieces I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Couldn't have asked for a better dessert experience for our wedding - I highly recommend Black Currant Bakehouse if you want a phenomenal cake and phenomenal experience. Thank you so much for giving us the best, most beautiful wedding dessert, and we can't wait to come get some more sweets when we're in the area next.

We absolutely love this little bakery here. It gets slammed in the summertime with a line out the door, but for good reason. They have a big selection of donuts, muffins, cookies/brownies, quiches, cakes, and more (including a gf / vegan pastry option). They also have some delicious sandwiches that they serve after 11am, and their coffee options are great too. We love to come back here!
Michael R — Google review
Stopped in for a sandwich, their power was out so unavailable. Not a problem! I grabbed a slice of vegan coffee cake, and truthfully I have never had something like this before. Unsure what they use, however there was more oil residue than anything ): Tried to eat it but it turned my stomach due to this. Including a photo of the oil soaked parchment paper and box. Not sure if I just got a bad batch or if this is their norm, however have never had a vegan/GF product like this before. The person at the counter that greeted me was very kind though so points for that.
Allie — Google review
Very small selection of cookies, donuts and mini cupcakes is all this place had. It was a disappointment, but I decided to get a cookie. I inquired about anything like a croissant or plain donut stating I wanted to give my pup, who was in the car, a treat. The worker, I think owner, acted offended that I would give any of her superior bakery goods to a dog. Honestly, she should be honored that I wanted to share her baked goods with my fur baby.vs acting offended. I would not recommend this store based on the tiny selection, the high prices and mostly, her superior attitude.
Elizabeth F — Google review
Really great bakery just off 94 with delicious baked goods, great coffee. Thats the good news....now the Not so good! The flow in the bakery is terrrible 1. The staff dont direct the flow 2. Patrons stand in front of the baked goods case so no one behind them can view if asked next for their order. 3. To get coffee you need to have given your baked goods order 4. The staff are not organized 5. They cantbreak a large cash bill when they first open and finally the door to the rest room is very dirty amd no one has cleaned it in months! A+ on the bakery items, D- on the other items! Figure out how to serve your customers more efficiently and the clean the rest room door!

But the cake part insode tasted very good and all my guests loved it.

Sandra Kay's baked a delicious wedding cake for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. Nick H — Google review
Cute ambiance, but was left underwhelmed by the baked goods. The cherry buttercream pie was good with just the right amount of tart, but the coconut cake was heavy and overly sweet; the peanut butter bar wasn't better than what you can make from a store bought peanut butter bar mix. Turnover was delightfully flaky, but all in all, probably won't go back. Much prefer the lighter cake texture from The Flour Shop down the road.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Do not go here. The staff are super slow. I was there today and ordered a butterfinger blizzard, but it was more like a vanilla blizzard because there is 0 butterfinger in it. This is the second time this has happened to me! I even asked for extra and I got none. If you want a blizzard with more than shitty vanilla ice cream DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I have been going here for years and never had an issue, other then typical small mistakes which are understandable. However, today we went in to buy an ice cream cake and we selected the strawberry cheesecake, then we noticed the label said it expired two days prior on the 9th. Because of this we asked if they would be willing to take off any percent of the cake. There is also a sign that states all display cakes are 25% off on Tuesday which is right before they expired. However when the manager came from up front we smelled Marijuana and she started ringing in without telling us how much she was willing to take off. We nicely asked how much and she rolled her eyes, snapped and said only 20. Which to us made no sense as it had already been expired and the cake was 2 weeks old at this point. I am very disappointed with this experience so much that we didn't even get my family member a birthday ice cream cake for dq and went to meijer instead.

Best drive thru service tonight, 8/7/25 @ 9:30ish, that we have ever had in any St. Joe restaurant. The drive thru order taker was so sweet and patient. Food was great and order was correct. The staff needs to be commended on great service.

Actually insane. I go through the drive thru, have to wait 15 minutes for my food, and my blizzard is completely melted. I then go in and ask for it to be remade, and they remake the wrong blizzard. Had to just end up buying another… Took 8 minutes for someone to take my order when I went in the last time and then 10 for them to bring me the blizzard….

I had a party of 5, 10 year old girls and they all threw up multiple times after we where served there terrible ice cream , it also happened to smell of throw up mind you there are no bathrooms there ice cream sucked it had ice shards and weird yellow plastic Cristal's in side of the ice cream the owner was very rude and Impatient the other employee was very kind and I feel very bad that he had to work for the horrible for having to work for that man, there was GLUE on the cones and the cones had mold on the bottom the manager was inappropriately looking and staring at my young girls he also happened to be spying at them too. DO NOT COME HERE !!!!!!! P.S the ice cream was not even Baskin-Robbins ice cream and the girls where pal in the car and had a dry Tongue plus the owner sad there was no samples

I haven't been to BR in years, and if this experience was representative, I'll keep up the habit. One of the servers couldn't understand my dad's order and repeatedly tried to serve the wrong ice cream. My order had the correct ice cream flavors, but so melted they were softer than soft serve. When I complained about them being melted, the server promptly served me another scoop of the same melted ice cream but in a bowl. I'm not sure how that was supposed to resolve the issue, but the dogs enjoyed it. If this is standard, I'll keep going elsewhere.

5/5 - A perfect experience. Upon entering I noticed the location was well cleaned and stocked. Shubo greeted us and was patient as my young children examined the variety of ice cream flavors that were offered and helped them one at a time. The prices were less than I had anticipated and the simplicity of the experience was just what we needed for the perfect end to a fun day. My family had a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning again!

The staff is nice, the food is typical- I dislike the owner or manager ; whoever he is (older indian guy). I hear lots of "he is pervy" stories from girls who've worked there in the past. He's pretty rude and it's a better time when I go in and don't see him.

Fast service and affordable ice cream. They keep it simple which alot of ice cream places seem to forget these days with over stuffed menu items. This was a go in pick a flavor, how many scoops you want and go. I would suggest this for the family.

09/16/2021 I walked in to buy 2 ice cream cones in this half Dunkin' Donuts-half Baskin Robbins at 2:15pm. My eyes started burning from cigarette smoke!! It was choking strong! I started to look at the ice cream, but most of the containers in the 3 freezer cases were holding only about 3 inches deep in ice cream at the bottom, and those appeared to have been melted and refrozen. Yuck. No thanks! I left, and had to explain when I got back into our car that I had not smoked, it was from inside the Dunkin/Baskin shop. We left and drove thru the DQ a block away and were served fresh ice cream without second hand smoke.

This ice cream shop, Hoopla Frozen Yogurt - St Joseph MI, is highly regarded by families who frequently visit for a delightful treat regardless of the season. They have multiple tasty non-dairy options and an extensive selection of toppings. The staff at this establishment are always courteous and helpful. It is known for its incredibly delicious frozen yogurt, capturing customers' satisfaction through photographs. With friendly employees and excellent service, it's a place that will surely be visited again soon.
I’m a froyo snob and this is by far the best place I’ve ever been to. I live about 2 hours from here, but anytime I’m on a road trip, I make it a priority to stop by. I love that they have a flat rate for 2 different size cups. Load it up! Their actual frozen yogurt is so tasty, they always have new flavors and you can tell it’s quality stuff. Excellent selection of toppings, too. I wish they had locations all over the country. Maybe we’d have world peace, then ;)

Great concept and friendly service. Pick from multiple ice cream or frozen yogurt flavors and top with any of their many toppings (candy to fruit). Only draw back can be price. We don't go often, but it is a treat when we do.

I was traveling through the area last night and stopped in. This is by far the best frozen yogurt place I've been to! I tried 3 flavors and they were all awesome! I love the flat rate cups, the selection of flavors, the toppings available, and the service from multiple people working there was excellent! Everyone was very nice and helpful! I wish I lived closer so I could go regularly.

It was great. Staff is friendly and prices are competitive. They have a lot of toppings to choose from and lots of froyo options.

Love this place! Great flavors and love the flat rate for a bowl rager than by weight.
Dana B — Google review
This was a great place to get froyo- you add all your own toppings yourself and choose your own sauces, etc. choose your own flavor and get it from a wall of froyo machines. The girls behind the counter were nice and helpful as needed.

If standing room only is less busy than usual than Hoopla must be hoppin. Maybe I'll get another time. You offer a VIP service or entrance? XD

Great price and good dairy free options. Most options were gluten free for those who are wondering

Baskin Robbins - pfft, more like Robbins Baskin! This place gets me so silly and excited and I absolutely cannot wait for the next tickle fest in the Blue Moon tub. Robbins Baskin has me on the edge of my seat rizzing to skibidi toilet. Fortnite battle pass! (i'm a 23 yr old lightskin alpha male who is 6'5 and emo with fluffy hair and an entrepreneur)

Im so excited we have a Baskin Robins near by now! I LOVE Daquri Ice ..I have since I was a kid. I can't have regular ice cream so now I dont have to drive to Michigan City for my treat!

We stopped for ice cream and left with delicious milkshakes!! And a donut from dunkin all in one stop! It's probably best to go inside to see the options, the drive thru does not have a menu available.

We went 30 min before close to get some ice cream and the workers were very friendly and the ice cream is very yummy. I got the Cookie Monster and it’s the best ever

I've ordered here a few times. The ice cream they have is great. The service is employee dependant. In person had a great experience the first time there, the 2 people working were so kind and informative, they made us some wonderful treats and sent us with a parting gift! Phenomenal first visit! 5 star employees. Unfortunately, my second order arrived incorrectly and under-served, like they were very conservative with the portions. I felt like I only received about half of what I should've, a triple scoop sundae ($10) arrived with no toppings, and the ice cream didn't reach the rim of the cup. Then my 3rd order again was a phenomenal experience. We place order and I decided after we ordered that i wanted a topping I forgot to order. I called them, and the girl I spoke with was so amazing and understanding. Had no problem adding the topping for me. So there are some amazing employees here, and the treats are really good!

The ice cream tastes great... but they are constantly out of flavors, and now they have started canceling doprdash orders out of no where for no good reason If you're gonna get Baskin Robin's in Niles Michigan, just go in person, and even then I can't guarantee these issues will be fixed
