Ramos Generales El Almacén is a charming café located on the waterfront, reminiscent of an old frontier general store. The atmosphere is filled with relics and antiques, including a hand-cranked Victrola phonograph. The menu offers a variety of options, from fresh-baked bread to scrumptious lemon croissants. Visitors can enjoy submarino, a mug of hot milk with a bar of dark chocolate, perfect alongside a panini.
an authentic place with 101 years of history, carrying the spirit of several generations. the atmosphere is cozy and warm. great service and very tasty food. the display case with desserts and baked goods makes you fall in love with it from the moment you enter. I highly recommend it to everyone, even if you are just passing through Ushuaia.

Went early at 7+ and had a seat easily. Became crowded shortly after. The menu on the board are better items than the ones on the menu. Ordered the scallop casserole which was very good which had potatoes as the base. Had to ask for bread from the server who totally missed me out. The decor is made up of many old items from the past. Tips only in cash which the server will remind u.

The best and most authentic Patagonian restaurant in South. Perfect food, attention and ambience. Their food selection is incredible, so many authentic dishis to choose from. Highly recommended. I will definitely come back again. A true taste of Ushuaia 🇦🇷

The food was really good and the service was even better. The waitress that served us spoke english and portuguese perfectly, something I haven’t seen in this trip to patagonia. She was extremely kind and helpful. The building is also beautiful ❤️ we jad the risotto al mar and the tagliatelle al mar and both dishes were teally good
Liliana R — Google review
I liked this place, it's very original because of the interior but the food wasn't that tasty. My friend had lamb ravioli and I had steak of pork with sweet potatoes, which were only like 3 pieces. I would expect a bit more. Moreover I think it's worth visiting.
Adéla K — Google review
Great place in terms of appearance. Almost looks like a museum. We only had 2 coffees and 2 cakes. The coffees were fine. The cakes were ok if not a bit dry. The layer cake with dulce de leche was actually better the next day. Huge portions. Definitely worth it for the place and the atmosphere.
Yvan L — Google review
Built in 1906, probably one of the oldest general store in Ushuaia. Had a wonderful seafood risotto and the specialty coffee Ramos Generales. Should have split the risotto to leave room for dessert. The waitress Ayelen was excellent!
Kim H — Google review
We spent a lot of hours here for both breakfast and lunch. The atmosphere is delightful, the interior interesting and the service excellent. The tarts we had for breakfast were top of the line and beautifully made. Lunch was hearty, well-portioned and perfect for the cold weather. The scallop casserole deserves a special mention - so smooth and soft and fragrant, maybe the best scallops we've ever had. They offer a wonderful and wide selection of wines. This place is a jewel of Ushuaia and not to be missed! A true haven.

Laguna Negra offers a variety of popular treks such as Paseo de la Isla, Paseo del Mirador, and Sendero Castorera. Visitors can also enjoy complimentary hot chocolate at a local shop after a boat cruise. The chocolachino, a mix of cappuccino and bitter chocolate, is highly recommended. Additionally, the shop offers delicious chocolates and alfajores that make for great souvenirs.
This is really one of the best chocolates in Ushuaia. My friend who works in Antarctica recommends me to this wonderful place and SUBMARINO, which is a must to try. It's a hot steamed milk with chocolate which you put inside the milk to sink 😅 and their freshly made cakes are a must to try! 😋 there is a huge selection and sort of options from chocolate books, jams , and pralines to buy. It's hard to choose from as all is so delicious. Also, they are giving samples of chocolate to decide which one you like. You can also buy a nice selection of postcards. Thank you 😊
Jana M — Google review
We visited this restaurant because we received a voucher for hot chocolate during our train visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere filled with chocolate and chocolate products. You could redeem your voucher for a hot chocolate or upgrade to another drink. The chocolate itself was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We recommend stopping by, whether you have a voucher or not!

Free voucher provided after the boat tour which meant getting a hot chocolate to enjoy during the cold climate. The line was quite long but worth the wait.

I wouldn't normally stop at chocolate shops for a cup of hot chocolate. But since the boat cruise we had joined gave us a complimentary ticket, we came by and enjoyed a nice hot chocolate. It tasted so nice, as particularly it was getting windy and cold outside. The shop inside looks very attractive as well.

Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I was there on Sunday 29th Dec 2024 where majority of the restaurants were closed but they were open with very limited vegetarian option. They have vegetarian ready to go foods as well if you are in a hurry. However, fresh juice lemon +cucumber which was extremely sour that our teeth’s were sensitive for an entire day
Tarjani P — Google review
I was here last year in 2023 before the peso was stabilized and the blue dollar was at an all time high. It was great. The only place in town where you could get fresh pressed juice that wasn’t diluted with water, and nice large salads with a good variety of vegetables and grain. This year, like everywhere in Argentina, prices have skyrocketed to 2 or 3 times, while the portions have decreased by 20%. Quality also had noticeably decreased. The fresh juices are no longer fresh pressed using a juicer but only blended in a blender… with water. I won’t be returning sadly
Mandy T — Google review
Amazing place with a lot of vegetarian and vegan and healthy options. You can eat there like at a diner or buy many ready-made products in the fridge to take with you on excursions or at home. The quality of the food is really great: I will definitely be back. Pretty quick service and the staff is super friendly.

Very cool place to have a quick bite and work. Outlets all over the place and relatively stable WiFi. Berries flavored latte is something different to try. Hummus sandwich is a good vegetarian option!

We visited Marcopolo three times in two days! We got the juices every time. As a vegan, I had many options. I also got the vegetarian sandwich without cheese which was massive and packed with veges! My partner got the chicken burger twice because he loved it so much. Staff were great and very helpful with requests and the whole environment was great - great for family too.

If you love chocolate, you will absolutely love this place. If you don't love chocolate you will when you leave here! Plenty of samples to taste and chocolate to buy. Free internet if you sit in the cafe section and enjoy their chocolate drink selections. They use real whole milk hot chocolate, not just hot water with a powder mix like some places. Ice cream shop
Freddo is a popular spot in Ushuaia and Buenos Aires, known for its impressive variety of gelato flavors. Despite a humorous first visit during a power outage, the second visit was delightful. The shop offers an array of flavors and combo options, including the delicious volcano cake with vanilla ice cream. Customers also praise their coffee and ice cream combos at reasonable prices.
We stopped here just for a coffee, so we didn't have any food, but the staff was kind, straight away offered options to choose from. The hot chocolate, typical for Ushuaia ( SUBMARINO), was truly delicious and the ice cream, too. We can recommend that, at least. The only negative is that they don't have any lactose free or plant base milk options.
Jana M — Google review
Polite staff, clean food, and reasonable prices. The coffee here is average, but considering the area, the prices are fair. The place feels well-kept and tidy, making it a pleasant stop. After visiting the Prison Museum, it can be a nice spot to sit down and recharge before continuing your day.
Öner B — Google review
It's a very popular place. The ice cream was so rich and delicious, but they were out of many flavors. My cafe con crema was just okay.
Robert Q — Google review
Had a great volcano cake with ice cream here. They let you choose any ice cream flavor to go along with it, but I went with vanilla and it was perfect. It was part of a combo, which I didn't realize, so it came with coffee. I can't really comment on it though since I don't drink coffee.
Ethan S — Google review
So, you're a tourist. You're in Ushuaia. Maybe it's cold, maybe windy, perhaps rainy. Do you REALLY want to go into an ice cream shop? YES, but only if you like ice cream. These folks know how to do it. Their ice cream is super high quality and delicious. And NOT expensive at all. And they're quite generous with portion sizes.
Russ S — Google review
I actually visited Freddo twice. First time was a funny encounter because there was actually no power in the entire area one afternoon, I walked in with my friends and they told me they couldn't serve us because the lights and the cash register isn't working. I told myself I will visit again and I did on the day I am supposed to leave Ushuaia. I went after lunch, there were quite a number of people but the place wasn't crowded. I was so impressed with the number of flavours they had in the shop! I didn't know what to order and they recommended me to try one of the dulce de leche flavours, and I had another scoop of Pistachio. I have to say the quality of the gelato was really good and I liked it a lot. And I ordered 2 scoops and the price was really reasonable. I spent some time chilling in the shop enjoying the gelato. I asked for Wi-Fi she told me there was and she keyed in the password, I was connected but there was no Internet. Would recommend this place for gelato in Ushuaia!

Wow. This place is stunning and amazing value for the quality of food. The spices pumpkin / cream soup is one of the best I’ve ever had and the chicken guacamole sandwich was superb. Staff were exceptional - such a lovely atmosphere to the place. We just stumbled upon this place as opposed to planning to go here and looking at its scores now they are more than deserved. Such a lovely place! very good coffee, delicious toast (eggs & avocado) and excellent deserts! very cozy atmosphere. And as a bonus in a clear weather you can enjoy the view with snow peaks while enjoying perfect cup of coffee.

This is one off the Main Street but very worth the trip. This is quaint and very relaxing. Tried several restaurants and bakeries during the visit. This was by far the best. The sandwich was enough for two people, the sandwich bread just melted in your mouth. The scrambled eggs and ham were delicious. If my Spanish were better I would write all the glowing words which were used to describe them. If there were any suggestions to be made it would be to add nuts to the carrot cake. Highly recommended

Ice cream shop
Delicious ice cream and was lucky to talk to the owner, who offered multiple flavors to try and I’ve ended up with a yummy maracuya and Patagonian chocolate icecream cone. Highly recommend!

Great cute small place to find Calafate ice cream - the berry local to the region! Great for kids and all.

(Translated by Google) SPECTACULAR! This ice cream is a thousand, one of the best I have ever eaten in my life, none of that artificial taste. I ordered the Patagonia one, the Calafate one and the Jacks Daniel's one, really a delight of flavor, 10/10 that combination.

(Translated by Google) Magnificent attention from the kids and the ice creams are great words. Without a doubt, the quintessential ice cream parlor in the city! (Original) Magnífica atención por parte de los chicos y los helados son palabras mayores. Sin dudas, la heladería por excelencia de la ciudad!

(Translated by Google) The artisanal ice creams are very good, it hurts the skinny guy with glasses and a cap who always serves you BADly, with a face of few friends and 0 cordiality! (Original) Muy buenos los helados artesanales , lastima el flaco de lentes y gorrita que te atiende siempre MAL , con cara de pocos amigos y 0 cordialidad !
