Sarah's Creative Chocolate Kitchen is a unique eatery and chocolate shop located in Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea. It offers a variety of baked goods, savory options, and ice cream for visitors to enjoy both indoors and outdoors. The shop is known for its famous chocolates made on-site, where chocolate-making classes are also conducted. Additionally, Sarah hosts chocolate making workshops and events throughout the year.
I've been an online customer of Sarahs for a few years now and after enjoying her products so much, I decided to take the trip from Bristol to visit. We had the most gorgeous lunch with desserts and the following day had afternoon tea and chocolate making. Everything was so reasonably priced. I've known of chocolate making workshops in Bristol for around £50pp. We paid £34.50pp for a gorgeous afternoon tea and chocolate making which meant we got to bring home 12 chocolate disks each. The afternoon tea was MASSIVE. We are big eaters but we couldn't at all finished it so had to bring stuff home. Everything was gorgeous! I always say an afternoon tea needs crisps, Sarah is the only one I know to provide crisps!! There is such a great mix between savory and sweet too. We got a apron & hair net to make the chocolate which really added to the whole experience. Standard food menu is great, plenty if veggie options too! The desserts really are a work of art. The atmosphere is lovely and every staff member I met were so so nice, it almost felt like I knew them all for years. Was lovely to finally meet Sarah, she is just as she is on social media, what you see is what you get and that I love. Sarah and her family even took time out of her evening to have a meal and watch the fireworks on the beach with me and my partner - I don't know another business owner that would do that, she really goes above and beyond for her customers who practically become friends 😊. Had the most amazing experience, I will definitely be back in future. Gutted I don't live local, I'd be a regular cafe visitor! 💜💜. I wish I could give more than 5*

Had a Fantastic time at a Valentines Chocolate workshop. It was so much fun. We had plenty of chocolate amd toppings. All the staff were so lovely and very kind. We even a sneak peak at where the magic happens in the back workshop. We had lunch too which taste delicious. I will defo be booking again.
Katie T — Google review
We booked the children’s afternoon tea and chocolate decorating for this afternoon. The cafe is very nice looking from the outside and there’s plenty of on street parking right out front. The staff are all lovely and great with the children. My two really enjoyed decorating the chocolate discs. Their afternoon tea was very nicely presented, with everything being made fresh. The whole experience though, whilst entertaining and unique, was certainly not worth almost £30 per child. Had this been priced more reasonably, this would be an easy 5 stars. The items on the main menu were much more sensibly priced though and I would still recommend a visit
Kevin K — Google review
What a lovely little cafe! Took my daughter in here for something to eat and the food was delicious and lovely presentation. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and very clean. The staff were lovely and welcoming and overall I think this place is a gem. I will definitely return and highly recommend to anyone.

We (6) had a lovely afternoon tea and chocolate workshop here for my birthday today. Sarah and her team looked after us very well. Making the chocolates was fun and well organised. Thank you ladies 😊
Claire C — Google review
I've been treating myself to chocolate goodies from here for years now and they are absolutely delicious. Yesterday I came for a hen do and we did chocolate making and had afternoon tea - although the grazing boards looked AMAZING and I immediately regretted not ordering that. Sarah and the team went above and beyond and created such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and we had exclusive use of the shop. I would 100% recommend for others to hold their special events here, team building etc and will definitely be back. Thank you again.
Natasha D — Google review
We booked a chocolate making Birthday party for my daughter. The communication with Sarah was excellent from start to finish. All the girls loved it and came out laden with heavy bags of chocolate bars, lollies and giant buttons that they had decorated. They also had their pre-ordered food which was great. Great value party, minimal stress for parent's to organise, and nice and restful for us parents out the front. We had a reserved seating area so no issues there. Parking out front is limited but not too problematic. Friendly staff and the chocolate tasted divine! Recommend.
Sally D — Google review
My only experience is of Sarah’s postal shop (one day I’ll make it to the physical shop!) and I can honestly say her bakes are AMAZING! I’ve attached a picture of her Chocolate orange millionaires, which I ordered along with some topped cookies a few days ago. Sarah clearly works hard on flavours and tastes; I’ve never had anything from her that has just been ‘ok’ - the quality, taste and texture of everything I’ve tried has been first class. I’d highly recommend ordering from her online shop… one thing better than sweet treats is sweet treats delivered to your door!

If you find yourself in Southend, make sure to stop by Maxwells, a delightful eatery that has captured the hearts of many. Known for its diverse menu featuring everything from scrumptious breakfast bagels to hearty sandwiches, this spot is perfect for any meal of the day. Diners rave about the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience, even during busy times.
This was a Deliveroo order but they still managed to come up trumps with their service. I had a sliced egg salad with extras, it was a healthy portions and very fresh. I also had a tuna, cheese & onion toasty which was a doorstep of a toasty, and was still hot. They had added free 2 mini choc chip cookies in a bag with 'have a nice day written on it' and the driver was also really friendly so all in all a top experience and tasty food. xx

A warm and friendly welcome in this clean and well run café. So glad that I needed to make a detour off the high street, so found this place, which thankfully means I now know where to head for future lunches when visiting Southend. A good range of food, customised and made to order, which I accompanied with a really tasty smoothie.
John J — Google review
Disappointing visit today. Panini with bacon, brie and cooked tomato was cold and so little in it, hardly any flavour. Hash Browns were soggy and cold. The man doing the food needs to smile, looks so miserable
Julie S — Google review
The food at maxwells was really nice, we had the tomato, cheese, and onion toasties and the cheese and beans jacket potato it was sooo gooey warm and filling and I really enjoyed it, the service was also lovely everyone was really sweet and kind and it made me smile. So overall it was really good I feel though that the interior was a bit old dated.

Went yesterday for a salt beef bagel lady on till was polite enough . The man was on another level of miserable 🙁 and rather rude . 2 slices of cold salt beef one stingy pickle and not much mustard on a toasted Tesco bagel for £6.40 not impressed at all it’s no brick lane that’s for sure it was more pastrami than salt beef 😩☹️

Went here with a friend for lunch. Despite the place being busy, we did not have to wait long for our order. Their portions are perfect and so tasty

Molo Lounge is a trendy spot located on High Street, offering a variety of dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The place has an artsy vibe and welcomes dogs both inside and outside. For those seeking a more sophisticated experience, there are several elegant dining options in the area such as Patisserie Valerie, Love Thy Burger, Tomassis, The Slug & Lettuce, Molo Lounge Cafe Bar, or The Royal Hotel.
We came as a large group, we planned to go out to drink coffee, but it was late and all the others had closed. Thankfully Molo Lounge was open and we enjoyed celebrating Eid and my cousin's birthday. There are toilets inside, and the restaurant had a nice interior with many places to sit. It wasn't too busy or loud, and there were books to read and return. The drinks and food we had was also good. They gave us some lemon water while we waited for the things we ordered.

Popped on for food on Sunday late morning/lunchtime, managed to get a table without booking and just beat the rush, super friendly staff, lovely food and coffee was so good! It was also cool how all the staff where able to be themselves in terms of clothing, tattoos, etc, I thought it made a big difference and staff seemed relaxed in their work and more friendly rather than talking like scripted robots, nice one!
Nick M — Google review
A lovely place to enjoy a tasty meal. Casual but very pleasant. The staff were friendly and willing to help you with any problems.

Everyone at Molo is always so friendly we love coming so much. And the quiz is brilliant! So much fun thank you xx

First time here with my partner, we popped in randomly and were blown away! The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Service was just as impressive, friendly, fast, and made us feel truly welcome. A lucky find we’ll definitely return to!
Livs — Google review
Extensive vegan menu. Bit noisy upstairs with loud music but you can head downstairs into the darker, quieter and more comfortable area. It's also right next to the kitchen so you get your grub quicker.
Russ G — Google review
The breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent I had the trifle and old mont cider definitely come again 🙂
Canadians U — Google review
Was particularly keen to try the Molo Lounge particularly as there is a whole Gluten Free menu that my wife could choose from. We both chose from the Tapas menu. What can one say. Clean plates all round. Reasonably priced, friendly staff. So glad we found this place. Give it a try if you haven't, you really won't be disappointed. We will be back.

Lemon Witch, situated on Leigh Broadway in Southend-on-Sea, is a charming spot known for hosting biscuit decorating events for kids. While the little ones are entertained, parents can savor their coffee and indulge in delicious crepes and children's afternoon tea. Despite limited space, the accommodating staff will help accommodate strollers and provide highchairs. The kitchen specializes in an array of sweet and savory crepes with tempting topping options.
Very extensive menu of pancakes, galettes, and waffles. Great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I had the New Yorker (closest dosh in the photo), and my wife had the Vegan Brunch. Both highly recommended.
Luke B — Google review
If you want pancakes in Leigh-on-Sea then this is by far the best place to go! They have an impressively large menu covering American Panckaes, Crepes, Galettes, Waffles, shakes, and more. They do savory and sweet options. Many of the options can be made vegan and these are all marked clearly on the menu. I went for the sweet Apple Crumble with vanilla ice cream. The pancakes were fluffly and delicious, the crumbles was nice and crunchy, the ice cream added a lightness to the pancakes. I also had a peanut butter soy milkshake which was lighter than expected and was a great, cooling choice for the hot day. Would recommend Lemon Witch if you're in Leigh-on-Sea and looking for some plant-based/vegan pancakes.
Danny S — Google review
Lemon Witch was an incredible experience. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. Lemon Witch has a lot of choices for dietary needs like Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan. The food was absolutely delicious. The pricing was very reasonable and they even have some fun merchandise options such as stickers, pins, tote bags and t-shirts. I would highly recommend giving them a visit.
M — Google review
Lots of vegan options here. It was a nice place, relaxed atmosphere and quite busy but the service was good and the food was enjoyable. I had the Jolly Green Giant vegan option and a freak shake and both were great. My partner enjoyed his California pancakes too.
Claire G — Google review
I recently visited this fantastic pancake place & I must say, I was blown away by their vast menu & great vegan offerings. The variety of pancakes they offer is impressive. The vegan options were plentiful & delicious. The atmosphere was cozy & inviting & the service was friendly & attentive. I highly recommend this pancake place to anyone looking for a delicious dining experience.
Mich — Google review
A lovely place for breakfast or lunch. Lovely staff, always kind. They are very understanding of allergies and my son, who has many allergies, really enjoys the pancakes. We are very grateful to them. We've always had great food there and my eldest really enjoys the biscuit decorating too. Definitely recommend them.

Came here for some lunch , there was so many flies everywhere landing all over myself the tables and even landing in my food. felt very dirty and unhygienic as well as the floors being covered in crumbs and old food.

I do love a Wimpy!! This place was spotlessly clean. The service was excellent. The food was served pretty quickly and cleanly and tasted good. I like the fact that you still get proper crockery and cutlery in a Wimpy, too. Also, the ladies' toilet was very clean. I have a friend who lives in Welling in Kent and she just informed me that her local Wimpy has closed down ... I do hope that doesn't happy in Leigh on Sea!!??😊👍

Great sweet treats and coffee - it’s always so difficult to make a decision because they all look so amazing! Some great vegan options, too. The place is beautifully decorated and has a few tables inside and out. Staff are lovely and friendly. I had a bueno stuffed cookie which was delicious and huge!, and the coffee is of really nice quality. Such a gem for a sweet tooth, I always want to buy the whole counter.

Popped in to treat ourselves to some tasty desserts after finding this place on Instagram. The cafe itself was beautiful! Cute seating and wall decor and a lovely floral ceiling which was very pretty. The choice of desserts was very generous, and we took a fair while to decide! We opted for a Smarties pie and a Jam & Cream Blondie. Both were delicious, not too sweet or sickly, and we’d definitely return again to try something new next time we’re in the area.

We ordered our wedding cake from Wilma's and were absolutely over the moon with it, everything we asked for is what we got, the communication was great, nothing was too much trouble and Gemma made sure every detail was as we wanted. The cake really did look and taste incredible, we had so many compliments from our guests about it. Thank you so much for making our wedding cake just perfect for us and we can highly recommend Wilma's to anyone else who is looking for a fabulous cake!

A review from the heart for one of the loveliest businesses I've had the pleasure of working with! I ordered the tall vegan lotus/biscoff gold cake for my wedding day and it was PHENOMENAL! I also ordered the vegan brownies which were so delicious I nearly ate them all myself. Support small businesses, because the care, attention to detail and love that is poured into the work is what makes everything so special! Without going into a long story, things were quite comically going wrong before my wedding day. It was the day before and I was picking up my cake, but due to an overseas order error it wasn't in the shop for pick-up. Here comes the best part, the ladies working at the shop were on the phone helping me to figure it out. Before I knew it I was where the magic happens (the big kitchen) and meeting Will and Gemma. They not only had my stunning cake ready to go, they spent time to chat to me and reassure me that "things go wrong in the dress rehearsal, so everything can go right on the day". I will never forget their kindness and will remember the delicious cake and brownies forever!

Ordered some sweet treats (see photos, I forgot names though) to take away just before going home. I had the Biscoff-looking shortbread one, my family had the rest. It was a bit too sweet once I finished it, but yummy regardless. Giving this place 4 stars as it was pretty late afternoon, and it looked like some of their stock (i.e. the ice creams) had sold out for the day (that, or more likely the weather was too cold to sell ice cream, but you never know, some people may still ask for it during this time of year). Also, I saw only two tables (with seating) were available (again, time of day I assume), but it looked like there was more seating at back, but was closed off. So review might be subject to change should we visit again.
Shadeon K — Google review
Love everything they have to offer. However, i went there last night. Only wanted a brownie and doughnut. One woman was serving customers while the other was preparing takeaway orders. Waited almost 20 minutes to order. The one doing the takeaway just totally ignored us while the one serving customers only acknowledged us after about 15 minutes. We had to walk out because we would be late for our movie. Other customers had done the same thing. So great things to eat but not happy about the wait.
Chanel B — Google review
Desserts and ice-cream are good, I still get them to take away. Service in my opinion is quite poor.. they can't be bothered.. asking from the other corner of the room what do you want.. can you come closer please so we don't have to shout to each other?
Vir V — Google review
Was excited to try the new Southend branch. Staff were friendly but no table service. Disappointed that there were so many items not available on the menu. Ordered the milk chocolate waffle & was charged an extra £2!!! for biscoff sauce literally a drizzle. Overall a very below mediocre experience.
Lex W — Google review
The first time I went here we sat in shop in the Leigh branch, was really nice and no issues. The second time was a takeaway from the Southchurch shop and there were a few minor issues - I asked for milk chocolate sauce but was given white chocolate, secondly the warm cookie dough tasted lovely but both of them were over cooked at one end making it very hard. Also the chocolate fudge icecream is not good quality, it is very icy in texture which means it's likely to be more water content than cream such as in the cheap budget icecreams available. My daughter enjoyed her cookie dough sundae.
Kimberley K — Google review
Ordered a cream egg milkshake on 2 different occasions. On neither of the occasions did I receive the right order. One time it was coconut which I’m actually allergic to. Called them up and they said that they put cream egg and that they made it themselves when it was very clearly coconut. Never ordering from their again and I suggest you don’t either.

But disappointed milkshake were like a water consistency requested they change as not thick enough. Waffle was nice. But strawberry sundea was not nice at all to much syrup which was sickly didn't eat any would not recommend

The team behind this culinary gem, Nick and Emmi, are not only talented but also incredibly warm and welcoming, ensuring everyone feels right at home.
WOW!! We hired Crepe de la Crepe for our festival vibe wedding in August, and what a hit they were. Everything was so easy, from booking to seeing them setup on the day, it was seamless. They fitted in perfectly with the style of the day and the guests all said what a delight they were. One of the vegans squealed with excitement once she realised she could get involved!

We hired Crepe de la Crepe for the evening of our wedding - they were so responsive and helpful in the lead up and just brilliant on the day! Everyone loved it and it was just something special to add to our wedding! Thank you - would highly recommend! X

Crêpe de la Crêpe have covered several weddings at our woodland venue. The crêpe’s served are absolutely divine. The menu offers a wide array of options, we particularly enjoyed the banana Nutella (with lots of cream). The set up is efficient, and the cleanliness of the mobile Crêpe station is impeccable. Nick and Emmi are not only skilled but also the loveliest people. Their warmth and enthusiasm makes everyone feel welcome. The mobile crêpe bar was an absolute hit with all the guests. It added a unique and delicious element to the wedding.

We hired these amazing guys for our evening food at our festival style wedding 2 years before our big days and communication was quick and super helpful. When the big day came, they arrived on time, set up seamlessly in the background and served so many of our guests who came back for seconds, thirds and fourths! I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get round to eating one but my husband and guests all said how incredible the crepes and waffles tasted. My gluten free and vegan guests were particularly happy as they were able to eat everything like everyone else! I'll be hunting them down in the future to get my hands on one of the crepes but genuinely couldn't recommend them more. Thank you so much for being part of our special day, we couldn't fault you at all! 💜🍋💜

Extremely sociable, cater to ALL dietary requirements and the menu is just mind-blowing. Everyone that had a crepe or waffle LOVED them and we even asked if our our dog who was in attendance could receive a nice little treat too which they were happy to oblige by. Emmilene & Nick our guests loved you, we loved you and the staff at the venue loved you too! If you haven't booked Crepe de la Crepe for your special occasion, what are you doing reading reviews?! Get on the phone or email quick - fantastic value for money and we hope you enjoyed yourselves too. *checking diary for any reason to get you back here!* P.S Will put a better photo up when we get them from the photographer :-)

Crepe de la Crepe were fantastic. We chose to have them as our dessert for our wedding and they went down so well. The feedback was great and everyone loved to selection of toppings. They served the crepes and waffles really quickly so there wasn't a big queue. The team were so accommodating and had a variety of batters to suit different dietary requirements. The horsebox itself was lovely. It was very well kept and looked great in photos. Thanks so much Crepe de la Crepe.

A last minute decision to ask Crepe de la crepe to cater at our wedding and probably the best decision of the day! They fitted our festival theme perfectly and the food was amazing. So pleased you were part of our day.

I could not recommend Crepe De La Crepe more! I hired the van for a colleague thank you at my work and Emmilene and Nick were so friendly, chatting with my colleagues and having a laugh with them...as for the waffles and crepes - wow! They were amazing. So much option with the sauces and toppings but also cater for gluten free which was fab as I had a couple of colleagues worried that they wouldn't be able to have a delicious crepe! They also made my little dog her very own crepe! I will definitely be using Crepe De La Crepe again :)

Although this is not an official endorsement, our organization recently sought out a local bakery near a remote venue for breakfast treats. The assistance and service we received were excellent, and the quality of the food matched it. The bakery promptly delivered to the remote location as promised and maintained communication leading up to the event, accommodating changes in our order. Overall, their service was exceptional. Unfortunately, due to being busy at the event, we only had the chance to sample three items instead of indulging further.
My Mum was absolutely delighted with her wedding cake! The fruit cake was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Karen was super responsive to all of my emails, sourced the artifical flowers on my behalf, and the lovely ladies in the Eastwood shop even carried it to the car for me! Thank you to the whole team - great product and service 😊

I genuinely don’t understand how they’re employed. We walked into the shop packed full with customers, and there lie 5 teenage employees looked as though of the age 17-18 serving them. There was a lack of structure and control and so unaware that it was our turn - we heard a low distant call -“who’s next?” We squeezed through bundle of people and finally arrived face to face - with a girl. We told her what we wanted, something with raisins. Directly infront of us stood a pastry, staring at us in the eyes - and yet she replied with an egotistical tone: “we don’t have any”. Are we deadass 🥀. How incompetent do you have to be; we asked her a second time to look in the back - offering her a second chance to redeem herself - she failed miserably. Frustrated i pointed a finger at the pastry i craved - “sorry about that”.

I have been going many years but this morning I was very disappointed with the service. Last week I bought a fruit loaf and nearly broke my tooth on a very hard piece that looked like a stone. The manage said that she would give me a new loaf. However when I went to collect it this morning she refused to give me the loaf saying that it wasn’t a stone but a piece of extremely hard date which would have caused damage if I had bitten on it. The assistant served someone else whilst I was waiting and completely ignored me and started writing in a book.

Recently popped in and they have a wonderful selection of cakes I must say that the bread pudding was the best I’ve had for a long time will definitely be going back. 😃

Their low GI multi-seed bread loaf is delicious! One of the tastiest bread loaves I’ve ever had.

Whilst not an official corporate endorsement, as an organisation we were looking for a bakery local to a remote venue we were using to provide some breakfast treats. The help and service we received was brilliant, and the food was to match. the Bakery delivered to our remote location, at the time they promised and stayed in contact up the the event and accommodated our change in order. Brilliant service all round. just sorry I was too busy at the event so didn't get to eat more than three to replace lunch after we had done - could easily have polished a box off!

The quality was excellent. As a chef with 20+ years I was impressed with everything. 2nd time I've been there.
