Experience a unique dining adventure at Restaurant Kupferkessel in Zell am See. Indulge in delectable dishes from Austrian, German, and Italian cuisine, including the mouthwatering crispy chicken schnitzel with fries and delightful sauce or the customizable pizza with an array of toppings. This family-friendly establishment also offers fresh meat burgers and other beloved favorites for both kids and adults. The attentive staff provides exceptional service with efficiency and a warm smile.
Best place to eat in Zell am See. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and proportions were huge. The menu is a little overwhelming because there are so many options. The decor and vibe inside is very unique and fun. We enjoyed everything about our dinner here, would highly recommend eating here if you’re in the area
Randy T — Google review
Very welcoming restaurant with lovely friendly staff. Lots of seating and quirky decorations (although as some other reviewers have said, some of the cartoons were a bit outdated and offensive). Very reasonably priced. The garlic soup was delicious (it tasted like garlic bread in soup form). The other food generally was okay.
Jordanne — Google review
We ate twice at the restaurant. For sure we had good experience to be there back. It's located at the edge of zell me see close to train station, parking can be an issue in the area. The restaurant is enormous, the menu is very diverse, from pastas pizza burgers fish rice sea food, many side dishes.. I liked the burger, and the black tiger meal. Service was very helpful.
Waseem H — Google review
I enjoyed the food though I am not usually a fan of western food. I enjoyed the desert the most though!! Both times I went here the tiramisu and the banana split were amazing and I love it. Peter, the waiter, was also really welcoming and made the experience enjoyable during both of my visits!
Serena4032 — Google review
The service is awesome, with friendly and helpful staff who genuinely look after families—a significant advantage. The dining area is spacious and boasts a special, appealing vibe. While the pizza (Margherita and Neapolitan) was decent, it wasn't outstanding, suggesting that other menu items might offer a better culinary experience.
Ahmed O — Google review
Just a fantastic place. Everyone was super nice and I loved the campy interior vibes that just make you smile and giggle. The food was good, the service was great and prices weren’t bad.
Thierry C — Google review
It was amazing place with friendly staff. We are pure vegetarian, and we had Spinat pizza and jacket potato with Sour cream. Both were delicious and satisfactory. Loved the way they served the food with wide smile and excitement.
Saloni J — Google review
If I could give this place 6 stars instead of 5, I definitely would. Words cannot describe how much we loved everything about this restaurant. We went there 4 times during our 5-day trip. Each time the staff was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. The variety of dishes you can order is great, it doesn’t matter what you get - it will always be exquisite. Definitely a must-go restaurant in Zell am See!

Villa Crazy Daisy is a popular spot located on a bustling corner, offering outdoor seating that's perfect for soaking in the atmosphere of Austria. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide range of dishes such as burgers, steak, salad, and pizza along with an impressive selection of beers at the bar. Despite its unassuming appearance and quirky name, visitors were pleasantly surprised by the inviting interior and delicious freshly prepared food.
Was recommended this restaurant by our hotel for lunch and did not disappoint! Lovely bright and warm inside area, with a terrace with heaters out the front. The menu has a mixture of both typical Austrian items and other international choices. We went for the goulash (delicious with loads of meat) and the schnitzel. Lovely and crispy served with fries and cranberry sauce. The service was friendly and prompt. Only negative would be that my Diet Coke came from a machine (maybe it was Pepsi…?) and it was very flat.
Ruth K — Google review
Food is fine, but the server was perfect. Made my whole day. I was traveling solo and felt so comfy and the ambience was so nice. The server had the best vibe ever. For sure go to this restaurant if you want to be treated nicely and have a great evening. Even when it's a bit colder they have heaters and blankets! So you can still enjoy outside.
Lisa P — Google review
We had a great lunch — the cauliflower soup was creamy and full of flavor, the toast with fried egg was delicious, and the kids loved their burgers and meals. The service was super friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time here — highly recommended!
מונה א — Google review
Truly wonderful experience, Susie was our waitress and couldn’t be a happy more bubbly person. She was very accommodating and gave us great suggestions. The food was delicious, the pizzas were big and had a good variety to choose from. We also ordered the tomahawk and the schnitzel, both were perfectly done. During the summer, it’s quite lovely to sit out on the terrace, and they will soon have live music every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Would definitely come back again!
Ava S — Google review
Great and friendly service. Generous portions of good food.
TH T — Google review
Accommodated a table of 5 with short notice. Once we got there they moved us to a better table outside because they had a cancellation. Very friendly staff and fast service. Live music and a nice outdoor area created a great atmosphere. Menu had quite a variety of different cuisines but everything we ordered was great
Tom D — Google review
We really wanted to like this place. the staff were friendly and clearly tried their best, but unfortunately the food was a huge letdown. We started with the garlic bread, which turned out to be a supermarket-style bake-off loaf, not freshly made. The main courses didn’t get any better: the hamburger was dry and far too salty, while the pasta pesto was basically swimming in oil and had no flavor at all. Even the fries were disappointing . Overly salty, with some still cold while others were very hot. All in all, a very poor dining experience. The service was the only positive thing about the evening.
Timo W — Google review
This spot in Zell am Zee is fantastic. The food is scrumptious, the service is top-notch, and the wait for your meal is pleasantly short. Prices are fair, and the atmosphere, especially with live music in the evening, is fantastic. Don't miss out on trying the ribs, steak fillet, pizzas and my personal favorite is the grapefruit spritzer. Highly recommended!

Beer garden
Hilberger's Beisl is a beloved year-round restaurant in town, popular for its warm interior and heated outdoor garden by the river. The menu features excellently cooked regional specialties, with the wiener schnitzel being particularly praised. The staff is friendly and helpful, guiding diners through the somewhat chaotic menu. Dishes like veal wiener schnitzel and deer meat balls are beautifully presented and delicious.
The place to be in Kaprun, we love Andrea, Wolfgang and their team. The food is fabulous and nice environment. We love to come here for years and it’s got awesome quality.
Eric T — Google review
We ate here for lunch and it was so good we came back on another day for dinner. What a beautiful restaurant. Staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was top class. My partner is vegetarian and the options were wonderful. Can’t recommend enough for top class food and service. Dessert was to die for! 😋
Olga N — Google review
Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere in a convenient location, but the food was unfortunately a little underwhelming. I ordered a Brathendl, which I understood to be something like a roast chicken. What I received was a deep fried crumbed chicken that was drenching with oil. The potato salad was awesome.
Thomas M — Google review
Another great suggestion by ChatGPT and google.. The atmosphere was lovely with good music at the right volume , the service was great (Krisztian was AWESOME) and the food was delicious ! The ribs were spicy enough to not burn the palette the Entrecôte ( cut of the day ) was perfectly made to medium and the schnitzels made me want to come again and have a all plate for myself ( I had the ribs this time )
Omri H — Google review
Waiter provided great service. Good local food and atmosphere.
Peter M — Google review
I've been in Europe for a month and this was the best meal the whole trip. The whole trout was perfectly cooked, very delicate and had the perfect side of vegetables. The pork ribs were absolutely delicious, the home made bbq sauce on the ribs was insane. It came with a herbed sour cream and potatoes that paired well. All the waiters were very helpful and friendly. Not to mention the recommended wine pairings that were divine. Funky dessert. This is a must visit in Kupran!
Jackson B — Google review
Perfect place, welcoming staff, very good dishes! Fair pricing - what else would you look for? We had pumpkin soup (unique), beetroot (delicious), trout (healthy and tasteful) and venison (wow) but the place feeds the locals, the waitress hugs any second guest, good music...
Yaron K — Google review
Upon entering, you meet very nice staff. The menu is a bit chaotically ordered, but the waitress helps you by listing out the preferred options. You can't go wrong with something modern like a beef burger, but we've tried the local meals - a veal wiener schnitzel and deer meat balls. The wiener schnitzel was accompanied with a fresh vegetable salad whereas the meat balls plate was coloured by steamed veggies and potato puree. Both plated with care. The best two meals of Austro-Hungarian cuisine I've had in a good while.

The friendly staff, dressed in lederhosen, serve up classic Austrian fare such as schnitzel and tafelspitz. Guests can also enjoy the mountain views from the patio while savoring their meals.
Delicious food with a fine dining look and taste. The waiter is really funny and knows how the make a great atmosphere! I recommend the onion soup, the fish of the day and the gnocchi and all of their desserts.

I had schnitzel here and it was tasty! They have halal food certificate, so our friend choose rib stake, and it was delicious he said, we also got appetizers which was tasty, even halal version of appetizer they bring to our friend. It was nice experience.
Zulfiyya V — Google review
Everything was perfect - food and service. Every dish was designed like a piece of art, very tasty and portion were big enough. We liked each food we ordered. Waiters were quite funny and service was great!! And prices were good, comparable with other places, but you receive much better food and great experience. It's definitely the best restaurant in Kaprun!
Gulnar B — Google review
A great restaurant probably the best in Kaprun! They offer a wide variety of dishes, including Halal options, and even have an Arabic menu. The service is excellent, and the outdoor seating is highly recommended.
Hazem K — Google review
If you are in Kaprun this is a must visit restaurant , remember to book otherwise you’ll be disappointed , I had the best fillet steak 🥩 with the most amazing sauce where as my wife had the Deer saddle , yum 😋 to both
Daren C — Google review
We visited twice during our stay in Kaprun. The staff were friendly, and the food was surprisingly delicious. Highly recommended!

Amazing, tasty food, (beautiful presentation of the food as well), very friendly and quick service. I tried the local Weißbier, it was very tasty, try it if you get the chance. It's a bit pricier but it's still in line with the value that you get for your money. Highly recommend.
Johanna I — Google review
One of the finest culinary experiences not only from Kaprun but from entire Salzburg area! We are experienced food travellers/tourists and this restaurant completely fulfills our requirements: local (reinterpreted) food, international ones and the deserts are quite something. We tried rib eye for two, mushroom soup, surf and turf, veal and salad, trout and a terrific tafelspitz. All the waiters were kind and attentive. 5 full stars even it’s not cheap. Well worth a visit or two or three when you want to eat good!

The restaurant is known for its classic dishes such as steakhouse burgers, giant schnitzels, and premium sea bass fillets with a choice of side dish. With its diverse menu, Deins & Meins caters to different tastes and preferences.
Came here for dinner mid week. It’s a busy spot so we reserved ahead and got a table in the top terrace. It was very comfortable, the service was top class and we ate well. Took photos of wind and started but forgot to capture the trout. The starter was to share. The only bug was the risotto the trout was placed on was too soft but it didn’t detract too much from the overall flavor of the meal.

Great restaurant.Very good food and reasonable price. Very good service, thank you Rosy. We ate 3 times during our stay in Zell and enjoid every time
Avidan L — Google review
In a town with so many restaurants serving high price low quality meals this place was not only the best I tried but the only decent place to eat. At least they are serving fresh vegetables and salad with their meals. The drinks were not so good, I got homemade Apple lemonade which was essentially a large glass of crushed ice with a very small amount of apple drink at the bottom.€5.90 A liquor coffee was pretty overpriced too at €12 The red wine was good. Both the interior and exterior seating are very good. The service is friendly & efficient.
Clara T — Google review
I came to this place with my husband and friends from Australia. I absolutely loved everything about it - the food was yummy, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the cocktails were boozy 😊 I had ample options being vegan, which is always a plus.
Marija W — Google review
We were so happy to come and eat here! A place where you can get high quality meals, tasty and not just schnitzels and wursts. Great staff too! Delicious. Would love to come here more often.
Ting H — Google review
We had dinner at Deins and Meins on Jan 25,2023 and celebrated my wife's bday. First of all, you definitely need a reservation for dinners. Do it as early as you can, it is just a phone call. We were seated at the upper floor, it was a better choice than downstairs. The lighting was better. Our server (could not get her name) was awesome, her English was good, she was polite and friendly and did everything to feel us good. The food was delicious and served in a nice dish (see the photos). Both entrecote and schnitzel was very delicious. We ordered chocolate orgasm (their naming for souffle) and it was perfect but the portion size was a bit small. All in all it was a very good experience, I suggest to all.
Aslan O — Google review
The food was amazing and the restaurant looks and feels very modern. Only downside is we had a timeslot for 2 hours and it feels like they want you gone but that's just Austria I think. Lava cake was a bit too fluid still but tastes very good nonetheless.
Julian V — Google review
We had a nice meal on Saturday night. They had the menu in English which was appreciated as well as wifi for travellers! The menu had lots of options and many vegetarian/vegan ones. I had a veggie baked potato and it was yummy.

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Pizzeria Giuseppe has been serving up authentic Italian cuisine in the pedestrian zone of Zell am See for over 30 years. This no-fuss spot is known for its delicious thin-crust pizzas, as well as other Italian favorites like seafood-topped pasta, risotto, and ravioli. Visitors can expect personalized and warm service at this establishment. While the food is generally tasty and arrives hot at the table, some patrons have noted minor issues with certain dishes.
We visited Pizzeria Giuseppe a couple of times during our holiday in Zell am See and loved it each time. Tried a mix of appetizers, pizza, and pasta. Everything was top-notch. The food came out quickly, the staff were super friendly, and the quality was consistently excellent. Prices are very reasonable overall (drinks are maybe a bit on the pricier side), but the value for money is fantastic. Definitely a place we'd go back to.
Samuel T — Google review
My impression of this restaurant is very good. ✨️ The food was amazing even though we only had a "regular" pizza 🍕 and the service was very nice and professional. The overall atmosphere and decoration are very impressive. 😊✨️
Anežka P — Google review
A restaurant with a wide selection of gluten-free dishes automatically earns a high rating from me. We ordered a variety of dishes: seafood risotto, pizza, salad, and calzone (with gluten), and for dessert, a gluten-free tartufo. We all enjoyed everything very much — even those of us who eat gluten. And since they also have gluten-free beer, there’s really no doubt about the rating :-)
Rachel S — Google review
The pizza was really tasty, as well the crust, as the other ingredients, but it was so salty. I felt a taste like there was a lump of salt in the sauce. Except that everything was fine. I could recommend that place
Fociatella — Google review
I was so happy to have lunch here yesterday (Tuesday) and surprised to experience one of the best (and largest) risottos I have ever eaten in my life! I work in Italy so this is a serious compliment. The staff here are super nice and it’s great they also offer gluten-free pastas, pizzas and vegan food. They are not Halal.
J J — Google review
The service was great. Although the restaurant was busy, the food was served quickly. Compared to other restaurants, the food was good, and the spaghetti was especially tasty. The portion sizes were reasonable for all dishes. One pizza is enough for two kids or one adult, and the same applies to the other dishes. However, the drinks are overpriced — which seems to be the case in most restaurants. This is something that should be monitored and controlled by the authorities. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
Mariana A — Google review
Tourist trap alert! Ordered plain water from them but the shady male waiter charged me still water of 7.7 euro, more expensive than the soup. Dishonest way of doing business. Other table’s has normal glass water so i guess the waiter is selective. Food is extremely salty too. Better avoid to prevent unpleasant experience.

Nice place for a hamburger while around. They have a nice variety of hamburgers and other snacks plus drinks and shakes. The view from the restaurant is amazing. The service was really nice good and fast. The prices are ok, not so cheap but for a good portion. In the end they charged a 10% tip that I was not aware of (I didn't ask but they mentioned anything and I did not see anywhere saying about this). Anyhow, a good choice.

Cozy nice place with a terrace but it was hot up there. Food was flavourful and the portions were good. The fries were fresh and crunchy even though the portions were slightly small. They were very well seasoned. There are good vegetarian options which are rare in these types of restaurants. The waiters were very nice and the food came out in no time. Everything was amazing even though it was a bit overpriced. 9/10 would recommend
Apna P — Google review
The food was great, we really enjoyed the burgers, which were full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The only downside was not being able to make any changes to the order; you have to have it as it comes, with no option to remove items like pickles or tomatoes. There weren’t many seats downstairs either. There are more seats on the terrace, but we didn’t go up, as it seemed quite busy and we preferred to stay where it was quieter.

We had a wonderful experience at The Burger Factory in Zell am See! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. But what made our visit truly special was the service. Super nice place and nice vibes , good food I give both cheese and chicken burgers (8.5/10) the quantity is big for me it was fit for two people. Special thanks to Anna for her kind service and big smile which made me feel welcomed Also they gave gummy’s at the end which I found cute I wanted to try the desert and it looked delicious but I was full from the food .. till next time

Good food, big portions and nice people. We ate one goulash soup, one snitzel and one special ribs (2 pers) and it was a lot more than we could handle. So order accordingly. Everything was delicious

0! 0! Sensitivity or awareness to people with allergies. They don't have a menu with allergens or have any idea what's in their own dishes. Our waitress Eva was completely rude and told me that whatever vegan dish was also gluten-free, she also told me I should be the one to know what I could eat and what not. Then, I ordered a meat tartar WITHOUT bread, and I did not only get a bread basket, but a piece of bread sticked in my tartar. Restaurant owners: YOU CAN SEND SOMEONE TO THE HOSPITAL when you dont train your staff or have an allergen menu!!!!

Awesome and excellent. Gluten free choices, vegan dishes, even more than just one! Taste: I enjoyed every bite Service: friendly, happy and relaxed. Price: a bit higher than average, but worth it
Sabrina S — Google review
Fantastic experience! The atmosphere was light and different in each area. The bar had a nice feel to it and the dining room was classy. We enjoyed the outdoor seating with it's very summery and fun feel to it. The staff was so friendly and our server was very helpful. She made sure I could enjoy my meal free of any gluten and all her recommendations for my husband and I were superb. My husband had the truffle pasta and pizza bread, which were both very delicious. I had the superfood bowl, which was extremely tasty and refreshing with fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, and a lot of lush greens. It was missing the quinoa but was still very satisfying. For dessert, we had the best frozen yogurt we have ever had--which they make in-house. Highly recommend this delicious restaurant, we will most likely visit again during our visit to the Alps!
Angelica C — Google review
We came to this place after trying several restaurants in the area for reservation, but with no avail. This restaurant excepted our reservation and we came in. We are glad we did. The staff, especially the receptionist was so nice and very friendly. That means fear is cozy and feels warm and very nice wooden decoration, it feels like you are in the Alps. We had spicy burger and tie Carey. The burger was good but not great. However the Thai curry was very good. We have enjoyed the dinner and I do recommend it.

The restaurant boasts impeccable service, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an impressive wine list.
Wonderful culinary experience paired with a great wine selection. Non-trivial interpretations of Austrian cuisine. Lots of techniques, but a great balance among them. Fresh local ingredients. Real gem. The only warning is that the service is slow.

This was a highlight of our road trip. This family owned farm to table restaurant was excellent. They were so nice and welcoming and the food was amazing! We were able to talk with the waitress/owner/ Somalia and she even brought her little boy out to say hi as the husband was in the kitchen making our delicious food. We truly had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anybody in Zell looking for a great meal and supporting a great establishment.

Exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to cater for dietary needs (vegan) and even got ice cubes for our daughter who was teething. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Plus 2 very big (100+ pages) wine lists for those interested.

This restaurant provides a great atmosphere with amazing food and drinks. They offer other than the course that you order, 2 appetizers which are good. We drank, water, apperatif wine, and ordered 2 weiner schnitzel. Total was 109 euros. So its on the expensive side considering there are so many other cheaper options. But its worth a try.

We were a family of 4 visiting with our two kids. We adults had the menu and the wine pairing and the kids found things ala carte. The service was kind, but seemed a little busy compared to the size of the place. The wine pairing was the highlight and quite good. I wanted to like the food more than I did. I applaud the experimental approach, but the platter with goat cheese, berry sorbet, curry flavored sauce on top of a tiny blanched carrot was quite weird and not really enjoyable. The beef dish my kid ordered was very cheesy and again not very impressive at that price point.
Thomas J — Google review
It might be an unpopular opinion but somehow the whole place - including atmosphere, staff, food - was just not for me. I felt that the staff - while very friendly - was hyping up everything a bit too much and it sounded like a script. Talking for 2 minutes about the sparkling water we got … too much for me. And that was only the beginning. All meals were presented in a way that I felt it’s not for us, it’s just a must that must be said. Some of the food was amazing (best Wienerschnitzel I’ve ever had) but some was not that good in my opinion. But I’m just a random guy on the internet…

Lovely dinner experience while visiting Zell Am See. The food was magnificent with a nice blend of new and traditional. The service was excellent and the server was knowledgeable and helpful recommending a lovely bottle at our price point. Overall a 5 out of 5!

It’s a family restaurant, an absolute gem in Zell am See. The staff are very thoughtful and attentive, making us feel looked after. We had a 4 course surprise menu full of locally grown ingredients and excellent wine pairing. Highly recommended for a warm evening delight. Also, when we asked for pescatarian menu, they easily made it for us. Considering the quality & quantity of food (we had a few great surprises off the menu), the value for money is superb as well.

Nestled in the heart of Zell am See, Restaurant Adria is a delightful culinary gem that offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, from stone-baked pizzas to succulent grilled meats and fresh seafood. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by a sunny terrace where you can savor your meal alongside a glass of exquisite Croatian wine. This family-owned establishment prides itself on its warm hospitality, making every guest feel like part of their extended family.
My husband and daughters and I came from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we want to thank all the staff in the restaurant for receiving and respect🌹, especially the chef👩🏼‍🍳with the beautiful smile. I thank Nortof🧑🏻‍🦱. He was smiling all the time and asked if we needed anything, and the food was delicious and the service was quick, and I visited the restaurant three times in one week ❤️❤️

This is a family owned restaurant that is run by people who have the love of food and know how to make their guest happy. It's Croatian food that satisfies your soul. We were in Zell Am See for 7 days, and we ate there 3 nights that how good it was. The owners treat everyone like family, and you feel like you're a part of that family. The wine and the food are awesome 👌 Tips 7.00 -7.30 is better for dinner when the rush is almost over. Thank you, family. we will be back.🥰🥰

Loved the food 😍 the owner is always around and is the sweetest man and the whole family is also there. We loved the pizza, calamari and the fish . I would recommend everyone to go here instead of the “halal” restaurants that rip u off

Stopped here for a pizza dinner. Welcoming staff, informative about menu, efficient and always cheerful. White wine spritzer to start and our pizzas arrived after 10 mins. Delicious, fresh smoked salmon pizza. As i could not finish the generous size, staff kindly boxed the left overs to take away. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively as diners clearly enjoyed their meals. A surprise liqueur to finish a delightful meal!

I have been going to this restaurant for years (10 or more), and we always love it. We usually only get pizza but a few times we have gotten other things, which was always excellent. The owners are very friendly and recognize you when you come back, which is not always so common in Austria. I go to another wonderful local restaurant and even though they know they know me, they never say hi or welcome back. In Adria, they are always happy you returned.
B K — Google review
I only got around to reading the reviews while already sitting in the restaurant. The staff was quite friendly and welcoming, even though the owner did seem a bit... intense. Still, we personally didn’t have any issues with the service. There were three of us plus a child, and we ordered pasta and one Greek salad. I have to say I was a bit disappointed, especially because we were seated next to the kitchen and could see how everything was being prepared. The salad came out very quickly — it was clearly prepped in advance. They wiped the plate a bit to make it look nicer, but then it sat out for about 10 minutes before being served. Unfortunately, the vegetables weren’t very fresh. As for the pasta, it looked like it had been pre-cooked and stored in a plastic container, which isn’t unusual, but the way it was handled didn’t inspire much confidence — the cook simply grabbed it with bare hands. Not the best impression, to be honest. We paid €92, and considering the experience, I believe there are definitely better options for that price in Zell am See.

Adria Restaurant ticks all the boxes for an enjoyable dinner with one’s family as well as with a group in a friendly atmosphere. The chief boss Norton and his staff are always committed and attentive to satisfy their clients. The menu has a good selection of delicious soups, meat, pasta, fish and salads at very reasonable prices.

This restaurant comes highly recommended as one of the best in Zell am See, offering superb fine dining and friendly service.
Nothing complain! All perfect!! The food and the presentation are TOP! I can not imagine how the food would like taste, probably like heaven.. 😁 The service was friendly and professional. And the chef, Mr. Andreas Mayer is so nice. Such a wonderful experience. Never forgotten!

We always look for Michelin Restaurants when travelling. Our evening at Mayers Restaurant was so delicious, so happy and so exiting. Service at its best and the food extremely creativ. We spent more than 4 hours dining, talking to charming Mrs. Mayer who is in charge of the service and discovering new wines from Austria. Mr. Walcher had choosen an excellent wine paring for us. Next time in the area we will definately return.

This evening was the best one we had in Austria. Even though we went in Vienna to the best places too. The service was excellent, the wines perfectly fitting and the food outstanding. Thank you, Mr. Mayer, for this experience. We loved your vegetarian food as well as the other dishes from your degustation menu. Our whole party enjoyed the time.

If you are looking for the best place to dine in Zell am See you are right to go to mayers restaurant. The food was incredible good and our group had a great time. As we were eight guests we had prechoosen our menu. All vegetarian. Thnaks to the chef who surpassed our expectations by far. Prices are normal for that kind of restaurant and cheap in comparisson to France. The quality is still two stars Michelin. The service not too stiff but on the other side very attentive.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in. The owners a couple where very friendly and kind. The view is spectacular and the fresh air and water in the alps is amazing. Please note this is NOT a regular hotel with “burger and pizza”. It is an authentic experience with only access through the lift. You are being part of a family with the owner-couple and other guests. The lift closes at 5pm with is a good thing, so you have privacy. Use the evenings hiking and eating in the restaurant. The husband cooks high quality dinner for the hotel guests every night. (Traditional food) The food where also excellent for vegetarians. Please eat at the restaurant every night. It is a part of the experience. The prices are totally fair and food is good! Again this hotel is more an experience than “just a hotel”. It is a paradise for hikers and couples who want relaxation and a getaway from the daily routines. Book directly from their website. It is easiest. Will definitely come again!

Unfortunately, my partner and I had a very bad experience at this hotel. I booked a hotel few months before the trip and paid a deposit of €180 for two nights. Shortly before the trip, we were notified that it was time to check-in online, and in the process we discovered that access to the hotel was completely restricted. For example, it is not possible to go to the hotel with your own car. You have to leave the car in the parking lot, and from there you have to take the cable car to the hotel. The cable car is closed every day between 16:30 and 17:00, and if you miss it, you will not be able to get to the hotel at all. After that, I contacted the hotel by e-mail and wanted to find out under what conditions it would be possible to cancel. I also wanted to find out if it would be possible to change the reservation to 1 night. About 1 hour after I sent the letter, I got automated e-mail that the reservation had been cancelled (-180€ to us). Our reservation was immediately canceled without any response. My partner and I have been staying in a lot of different places over the years and this was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Be really careful before you make a booking in that hotel.

We came to the restaurant pre-booked. Service was excellent when we wanted some bread to start with we got charged €8 per basket of a few slices of bread for 5 persons i.e. we paid just for some bread €40. We also booked a time slot but half an hour before our time was due we where asked to hurry up and 10 min before our time was due we were asked to leave as the new table arrived. It was such a shame for such a beautiful restaurant. Could have been amazing
Alain L — Google review
The food is very average in general and it was so salty, our lips got burning. I could not taste the burger patty, supposedly the key ingredient. The service was on the border line with rude. For the money we paid this is at best at 2 star from value for money perspective. I discount it to 1 star to make sure this restaurant is not graded 4.7 average rating which it by all means does not deserve. There are better restaurants in this town.

Early dinner in spring. Service was ok. Food was ok, but nothing more. Just average. Things we ordered, like a salad box and decoration items were brought through the dining area by kitchen staff. Unprofessional. There is room for improvement.

Nestled in the stunning surroundings of Zell am See and Schmittenhöhe, Eder Hütte is a charming indoor hut restaurant that offers a delightful escape for those seeking hearty mountain cuisine. The menu features regional specialties, including the delicious hutten grostl—a savory potato hash enhanced with fennel seeds, onions, and fresh chives—alongside a refreshing side salad.
The Eder Hütte is definitely one of the best huts in Zell am See / Schmittenhöhe. Fairly priced and really tasty. The spinach dumplings in butter are a clear recommendation. The burger and the fried potato soup are also good. We were served in a very friendly manner. We can also recommend the chocolate chili schnapps at the end. We would love to come back again if the opportunity arises. But the hut is a very clear recommendation.

Best place on the mountain for some great fun and very friendly, welcoming staff. The food here is amazing and the table service means you don't have to queue and barge through people to get your order... And you can wait with a nice pint of weißbier 😁. You have to try the Tiroler Gröstl...I promise you won't be disappointed. We finished our days off by landing here around 5pm and getting a few drinks and a jagermeister for the road before heading down the empty slopes into zell. Absolute must visit if in Zell Am See. From the beginning the cozy atmosphere assured us that we picked the right restaurant for our dinner. Welcomed by tasty bread with tzatziki and very welcoming owner/manager. For starter we choose the beef tartare (on photo) this was complimented by very good white wine. As main my wife had chicken supreme stuffed with cheese and mushrooms (on photo) and I had rump steak (on photo), which I consider the TOP 3 steaks I’ve ever had. Overall gastronomical quality combined with great service makes this place a must visit if near! Thank you for the experience.

A relaxing place for a drink on the "less touristic" side of Zeller See. September being off-season, the terrace was almost empty. Great view towards the mountains and Zell am See, but the burger wins no awards.

I came to this restaurant in order to eat a good burger. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. First thing is that the menu didn’t contain most of the dishes that were uploaded in the online menu. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. What I received was a supermarket burned bun, meat without any taste, nearly burned as well. The vegetables were ok, but about the “sauce”… it was basically just ketchup. Fries from supermarket as well, the fat was pouring out of them. The dish was suppose to be served with dip, and well, it was. With ketchup and mayo. The taste in general wasn’t so terrible but the burger definitely wasn’t worth the price. The service was kind, but seemed to be shy I really liked the views tho, which we couldn’t admire, because we got a seat in the corner.

I do not recommend visiting this place because the waiter's behavior was very bad and when I told him I wanted to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager and suddenly got angry and we were expelled from the place. I hope that a waiter is chosen who is good at dealing with customers and is respectful and treats visitors well because we come here with our own money, I do not eat or drink at his own expense. Thank you.

One waitress. Served locals first. We were biking by and wanted a beer and a view! For that it was perfect. Had to wait forever for her to return for a food order and then had to wait again for our bill. WC not well maintained.

Despite only having a few chain smoking guest, the 3 girls serving couldnt keep up with orders and seemed thouroghly uninterested in making any kind of good impression. They then proceeded to totally mess up most of our simple orders; a cheeseburger became a chicken burger. Drink orders were neglected or forgotten. Food was sub standard, containing of a dry chicken burger and a wet and sticky ceasar sallad. Only recommended if you are a chain smoking old timer who demands nothing more than a cup of coffee and place with a great lake side view to cough up your lungs.

For over two decades, I have frequented Zell am See and the Schmitten area, and Schober Alm has consistently been my go-to restaurant for a satisfying lunch amidst a day of winter sports. The staff is always exceedingly friendly, and the cuisine never disappoints. It is refreshing to dine at an establishment where you can truly sense their genuine care, unlike some other places on the mountain. The location itself is breathtaking, while the ambiance and music create a pleasant atmosphere.
Had a birthday celebration at Schober Alm. We had a blast. The service was excellent, not just by Austrian standard but by European standard overall. Coming from Germany, we felt absolutely special and enjoyed everything from the starters and mains to the endless supply of authentic drinks. Very thankful to the team for making my 30th birthday so special.

Located at the mountain station of the Areitbahn III lift, the Panorama restaurant known as Franzl offers a unique blend of rustic charm and urban sophistication. With its lounge bar and spacious sun terrace, it provides a delightful setting for dining. The menu showcases delectable dishes from the imperial-royal era as well as regional specialties. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly, ensuring that patrons' needs are met with great accommodation.
We had morning coffee and lunch at Franzl and we did not regret. The food went beyond the typical ski hut, the view from the panorama terrace is awesome and the service is good and professional. Prices are slightly higher than average but in return you get better quality.

Very convenient cantine-like restaurant. Service can be a little slow during busy times, but it’s probably still quicker than some other a la carte restaurants. Beautiful views when you sit outside.

The restaurant is pretty but huge. The food is not interesting a all and it's self-service. I did not come back a second time on our vacation.

Fast food restaurant
Asia 2 Go is a budget-friendly Asian eatery with a small menu offering limited but freshly prepared choices, including halal options. The staff is known for being very friendly and accommodating. While some customers wished for more flavor and spice in certain dishes, many appreciated the tasty food and good service. The restaurant is praised for providing delicious meals at affordable prices, making it a great option for those looking to try something different from mainstream dining choices.
So this isn't going to be the best meal you've ever had in your life, but it is tasty, quick and cheap! Recommended for those visiting Zell on a bit of a budget.

Very reasonably priced. Small menu with limited with choice. Halal options available. Very friendly staff and freshly prepared. I would have preferred more flavour and spicy with my chicken fried rice. Apart from that all good.
Ahamed R — Google review
Rice was too salty. Friendly staff, but there was a staff’s friend who’s also dining in, and he was being rude to all the other customers every time when the new person come in. He was also chatting with the male staff, which was freaking noisy. And staff never stopped him. It made a really bad atmosphere of the restaurant. Also they refuse to pay by card. Overall, I would never go there again.

(Translated by Google) A bar in the heart of Zell am See that looks like a simple place, the moment you enter you are immediately captivated by the spirit of the place. There was no Negroni on the drinks menu, we asked the bartender if it was available and he immediately looked for a vermouth rosso, then said they had it now. It goes without saying that it was divinely delicious (and my wife's cocktail was also great). We will definitely be back.

Restaurant Steinerwirt is a popular dining spot in Zell am See, Austria. Known for its delicious desserts and an extensive wine selection, it's a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The restaurant has garnered positive reviews from travelers, making it one of the top choices for affordable yet satisfying meals in the area.
Really good food and service. The garlic bread in particular was delicious. The food arrived quickly. The restaurant has traditional Austrian decor, and the atmosphere was nice.
Anniina O — Google review
My paragliding pilot recommended this place to me- in particular- their Pinzgauer Kasnocken, which did not disappoint. Excellent kasnocken is tender, generous with alpine cheeses, and dumplings have a subtle tartness from the rye/ cheese. In any tourism town, food prices are relatively high, but it was not unreasonable. Would certainly recommend to anyone traveling through Zell am See. Thanks!
Stefan P — Google review
The schnitzel and roast pork are both recommendations. Food was very good for the price, and staff is extremely friendly and well behaved. Portions are also on the bigger size, so the price is very reasonable.

The dinner was delicious! It took a time to pick a dinner spot in the area, and the place did not disappoint. The service is friendly and efficient. Pfane was soooo good (lots of cheeeeese, deer, chanterelle mushrooms).

Recommended 100%. The restaurant should have more than 4.3, is the best food that we ate in Zell am see and the staff really nice and polite.
Tania I — Google review
Took the family for a meal here. We ordered food which was very average, nothing special, average home cooked fare, perfectly edible but not the sort of thing you'd expect from a restaurant. The service was no-frills and a little inattentive, when we were ready for second drinks we had to ask the waiter to order more. We were having a nice time together as a family when mid way through dessert, the inattentive waiter suddenly arrives with the bill which apparently brought our evening to an end along with our desire to order the dessert wine and coffees we had planned. Half the restaurant was empty, it is the end of the ski season, 8.30pm and not a single person waiting outside to come in, it wasn't as if they needed the table for other guests. But worse, he had awarded himself a 15% tip and asked if that is OK! Unfortunately having had our family meal unceremoniously terminated we felt a 15% tip a little presumptuous and we left with a somewhat sour taste in the mouth.

Amazing restaurant with great dishes. A very kind waitress offered us great food advice. The interior is very cozy and well styled. We were with a big group, we did not have to wait long, and all the food was very tasty and fresh.

Decent apfel strudel, but I wouldn't recommend it. The puff pastry is too thick for my liking, making it difficult to eat this with only a spoon or fork.

Fabulous service, beautifully presented and prepared Thai curry and European food - what a gem. Vegetables perfectly cooked, done but with crispness and flavour. Portion just right to not overeat or to allow room for dessert. The music is not too loud, the level of attention from staff, the comfortable and clean and just spacious enough but cosy interior - wow. Thanks.

We came to the restaurant while we were at Zell am See, and did not stay at the hotel so this review is focused on the food. The food here was excellent and the service was impeccable. The staff were very kind, friendly and always hospitable. The food was so good we ended up coming here most days during our trip as it was our favourite restaurant compared to the others in the area. Highly recommend the rigatoni with beef filet and the cream of garlic soup. The burger, vienna style salad, ribs and platter are also all top picks. Overall you can’t go wrong with this restaurant and highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Hotel-Gasthof Grüner Baum is a casual property consisting of three buildings, featuring a rustic restaurant and a spa area. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast during their stay. The buffet breakfast offers plenty of options, and there is a sauna available for relaxation after a day in the snow.
Stayed there for ski week. The hotel is very clean, nice and cosy. The rooms have good sound isolation. Great breakfast, many choices. Best omelet experience. We loved the sauna. Ski room quite small. Enough place for equipment, but hets really crowded on peak hours. Highly recommend.

We spent 7 days in this hotel. The location of the hotel is great, right in the center. A short walk from the lake and the beach. I really appreciate the absolutely amazing five course dinners. We have never had such good dinners in a hotel before. Breakfast is such a standard, they will make you an omelette on request, but there were no changes to the breakfast dishes all week. We missed some porridge, pancakes, etc. The staff was also very nice and helpful, except for one lady at the reception. The noise at night is audible but not too bad. If you close the window, no noise is heard. But it's very hot in the summer. Luckily, they gave us a fan. Parking is expensive. There are small parking spaces in the garage, the ceiling is so low we couldn't open the trunk. Plus the garage closes at 10pm from 9pm in September. You can't get in after that. There is a sauna in the hotel, but it only turns on on request, which is not very comfortable.

Have just returned from a week’s skiing holiday and stayed at Hotel Grüner Baum via Sunweb. The location of the hotel is great as it is right in the centre of town. It is therefore within the mix of the local and popular bars and restaurants. It is also close and a short walk to the main bus stop and City Express gondola. The hotel was very clean, albeit I only noticed that within my room and general communal areas. The hotel was larger than expected and it took me a day or so to know where the facilities were. The ski/board boot room is a good size and having heated rails is really convenient. I had booked bed and breakfast but was always out for an early start. I therefore cannot comment on the breakfast and obviously not the dinner. I have two minor drawbacks. With the hotel’s central location, there is a lot of outside noise. The room was hot and so the window had to be open just to get some fresh air in. Although I did not ask but if the rooms were supplied with ear plugs, then that would have helped. On the day prior to departure, I mentioned to reception that I will be checking out very early. I asked about a packed lunch but was advised it should have been ordered earlier. I never knew this and if a note had been left in my room, then I would have taken them up on the offer. I usually stay at another hotel in Zell am See, but as I was on my own this time, Hotel Grüner Baum had the availability. The above mentioned drawbacks would not put me off staying here again.

The restaurant’s location is good, right in the middle of Old Town Zell am See. We were looking for beef schnitzels, and this was the first place we came across. We asked the lady standing at the entrance if they served it, and she said yes — which is why we decided to eat here. We ordered beef schnitzels from the waiter, but to our surprise, we were served chicken schnitzels instead. When we asked about it, the waiter insisted — almost accusing us of lying — that we had ordered chicken. He then added, in a very unprofessional manner, “Sorry, I can’t change anything and he left us in a sudden .” The chicken salad we ordered was good, and the chicken schnitzels were just okay, but the overall experience was disappointing due to the poor service and attitude and definitely I won’t go back again.

Very nice and cozy hotel, starting from the beautiful room and very good cleaning, until the excellent service and food, including great breakfast. The unique problem was that there was apparent mold on the shower place ceiling, but except for this (which can be easily solved), we would rate this place as 5 stars.

We LOVE the Hotel zum Hirschen and highly recommend! The zum Hirschen is centrally located in Zell am See's pedestrian zone and an easy two or three minute walk to the CityXpress ski gondolas. The rooms are elegant, incredibly comfortable and combine traditional Austrian design with the latest technologies including easy-to-use Wi-Fi and television streaming services. The food is exceptional and includes an extensive European breakfast spread as well as traditional Austrian lunches and dinners coupled with warm hospitality under the watchful eye of of my personal favorite and superstar Bettina Manzl! The Wellness Area, including sauna, infrared and pool, is a great place to relax and unwind. The outdoor apres ski Happy Hour will be sure to delight and the late-night Gin House (complete with nagelspiele and foosball) is a nice place to wrap up a fabulous ski day and to meet fellow skiers from all over the world. Finally, the most important thing to relay in this review are the people at the Hotel zum Hirschen...they're friendly, hospitable, authentic and incredibly efficient...It's just a five-star experience!

I wanted to try out Austrian food, this one was really crowded I had a wait to have a table. Good steak and tasty salad, also tried the kasnocken which is similar to mac and cheese but comes with onions, the used cheese was too smelly for my taste. I was bit surprised when i asked for take out, they brought empty containers and I had to put the food myself, and the containers for extra charge. Overall, its a good restaurant to try it out.

Starter and side dish is very delicious. The best is pumpkin soup. It combines the creamy taste and a little nutty flavor. The special sauce (Schwammerlsauce) for the steak is full of rich fragrance of mushroom. The caramelised chestnut has a bit of salty taste. Based on this caramel sauce, I would also recommend the caramelised pumpkin.

A restaurant with a stunning view of the lake. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The bouillabaisse soup and Caesar salad are delicious! The Margherita pizza is mediocre, a bit dry, and I didn’t really like it. The tartare at the next table looked delicious. The desserts also look very fresh and appetizing.

Although the food was really good, I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. After being seated, a bald male waiter in a puffer vest came and placed a “Reserved” sign on our table — while we were already sitting there. This was confusing and made us feel unwelcome, especially since there were plenty of other empty tables without any signs. When I asked what this meant, the waiter brusquely told me the reservation was for 7:30 pm — more than two hours later. Instead of handling the matter with discretion and professionalism, his manner was rude and dismissive. Using mostly sign language as if I am mentally challenged or I wouldn’t understand him, despite the fact that I was speaking to him in fluent English! I raised the issue with our waitress (who was genuinely kind and the only reason we stayed at that point), but the waiter in question brushed off our concerns and literally turned his back on us. No sincere apology was offered. To make matters worse, he was consistently polite and accommodating with other customers, yet not with us. It was hard to avoid the impression that we were treated differently simply because we are Arabs. Experiencing this kind of prejudice in a touristic destination — despite being well-mannered, well-spoken, and respectful guests — is both shocking and deeply disappointing. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures their staff treat all guests with equal respect. This restaurant has excellent food, but without a welcoming and tolerant environment, the overall experience suffers greatly.

We found great that they have options for any type of taste (local, burgers/pizzas, poke bowls,...). The atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is located right in front of the lake. We didn't have a reservation so we had to be seated at a high table (not at all an issue for us), so i suppose it would be good to make a reservation if you're somewhat older and/or want to sit at a simple table.

Great views and the food was pretty good too, but the number of flies was overwhelming — I had to swat them away constantly while eating.

Absolutely splendid meal and service! We went with a big group of 7 plus two lap babies and had a great time. Food was so good and great wine selection. My personal fav was the tomato peach salad. Might be the best tomato peach salad I have ever had. Highly recommend. They have a what’s app so it’s super easy to reach them. Love love love! Should we return to zell am see we’ll be back to this gem!

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and I must say that this restaurant is fairly expensive, but my god it's worth it. The service was excellent and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. You can pick the exact cut and size of meat and fish you want. I had a steak that was truly exquisite. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel Seehof offers comfortable and casual rooms and apartments in a beautiful lakeside setting. The property features a restaurant with a terrace, providing stunning views of the surroundings. The family-run hotel is known for its spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay. While some mention occasional train noise, many find it manageable with earplugs.
Our stay at Hotel Seehof was wonderful! The lake view is absolutely stunning, and the location is perfect—just a short distance from the center of Zell am See. The hotel manager and her staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Having their own parking was also very convenient. Highly recommend this hotel!
Ali A — Google review
Overall, it’s a good 3-star hotel — clean, comfortable, and well-managed. The breakfast was actually really nice, and the overall experience met expectations for this category. However, there’s one major issue: if you have a lake view room, be prepared for train noise at night. The tracks are close by, and I was woken up multiple times because of it. Definitely something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper. Aside from that, everything else was fine.

A really lovely hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice Sauna which was inexpensive to book (only private usage so you have to book, which was lovely). The restaurant in house is definitely worth booking a table at while staying there too. Breakfast was good, with amazing view across the lake.

We stayed two nights in a ‘budget’ room on the third floor in June. Wasn’t expecting much, but the view from the balcony way gorgeous and every effort was made for guests to be comfortable. It was hot so we had a large fan.. kettle.. plenty of storage. The hosts and staff were so welcoming. The art / style of the hotel was delightful. Lots of lovely things to look at. Obviously someone’s passion project. It made me regret not staying in more family run places across Austria, rather than larger hotel chains. My favourite hotel from the trip.
Sally W — Google review
Nice little hotel right next to the lake. My room was very small but, being a solo traveller, it was fine. The staff were excellent, homemade cookies were delicious. If I could make one change it would be to open the bar and restaurant for dinner and lunch.

Hotel Seehof was the perfect stay in Zell am See! The location is unbeatable ,right by the lake and just a short walk from the town center. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were clean and cozy, and the views were absolutely breathtaking 😍

Piazza Quattro is a popular spot in the city center, offering a mix of dining experiences. Mosshammer Cafe and P4 are located here, providing great options for coffee, cake, ice cream, and halal food. The atmosphere varies from fast-food style lunches with a view over the town square to more relaxed dining experiences. While some find the prices slightly higher than other places, many praise the delicious food and attentive service provided by friendly and professional staff.

Great Après with some good food. The place has a DJ that just gets going as the night progresses. Decent crowd, and easy to get into. Also very casual so no need to change coming from the slopes.
J C — Google review
We were at the 43rd Farmer's Market last week. Unfortunately, the previous reviewers are right about the arrogant service, although this only applies to one staff member, a tall, brown-haired man who was very arrogant towards my two little daughters and my wife. He was visibly only friendly with his buddies and drank quite a bit with them, practically serving no one else. The only reason we stayed at the restaurant was because the other two young male waiters were incredibly kind and handled the crowd professionally with smiles on their faces. I even commented to our waiter that the new guy could learn from them what professional customer service is like. He laughingly replied that he has been here the longest. This style is not typical of Austrian hospitality, so we were very surprised. During our stay, we visited several other restaurants where, despite the crowds, they were extremely kind. The food was very delicious, and the rest of the staff were really nice. This one man is seriously damaging the restaurant's reputation.

5/5 for Reservation Experience: Easy form based system through their website which is reviewed and confirmed by a human. Had a basic issue with mine as there seemed to have been an error with my form submission. Was resolved within the same day. 4.5/5 for Food Quality: We actually went there twice and had the Char fish fillet twice (once each) which was well-plated, had a nice crisp skin without causing too much of the fats to run from the flesh and smooth buttery mashed potatoes. The Deer ragout was a little disappointing, with the meat being a bit on the dry side, however the presentation was decent and sauce had good flavour depth. Penne with truffle whipped cream and strip of beef fillet was actually a lot better than expected. The pasta itself was cooked to al dente, the truffle cream sauce had a significant truffle flavour and aroma without being sickly strong. The beef fillet was cooked to medium-rare without needing to be directed and was superbly seasoned and tender. A very pleasant surprise for what sounded like a slightly interesting pasta dish. Vanilla Créme Brulee was remarkably well done, very creamy, strong vanilla flavour and coarse torching on the top to give it a caramel edge and some texture. The accompanying Raspberry sorbet I assume was made in-house and provided a fresh and sharp counterpoint. We chose a red wine called "Mordor" which was a little above what we wanted to spend, but turned out to be a fantastic blend which incorporated 2x Austrian grape varieties. 5/5 for the Interior: Has obviously been designed professionally, with good use of dark colours, natural woods and wall/ceiling textures using wood and antlers. 3.5/5 for Menu Variety: Controversial maybe, but the recent craze of having random elements of Asian cuisine available on menus in ski resorts just makes no sense. Why would I be interested in ordering fried spring rolls, with "king" prawns or a chicken yellow curry in the Austrian mountains??? I assume that this is just part of the trend, but I personally find it obscure and pointless. Choice of 6-7 burgers seems a bit odd considering the attempt at being an elevated dining restaurant and should be limited to 2 of their most interesting and the others available for Lunch only, with more space for variety on the Dinner menu. 5/5 for Staff: Attentive, professional, good eye for detail but also jovial and well-spirited. Overall - Definitely give this place a shot if you're in the area. We did so twice!

I expect more from a kebab plate in Austria. It was minimalistic, simple rice and some cheapo chicken meat. At other places you get fresh corns, carrots, onion, pickled cabbage, hummus for this price. Either lower the price under 10 euros, or give some value to it.

Located in Zell am See, Restaurant Ali Baba offers a captivating journey into the world of the Orient. The menu features a diverse selection of oriental dishes and refreshing cocktails. The Landhotel Erlhof is a rustic inn that offers cozy accommodations, a charming eatery, a relaxing sauna, and picturesque lake vistas. It has been described as having a pleasant atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and top-notch service. The restaurant provides an inviting and excellent dining experience, with a diverse gourmet menu featuring flavorful dishes that align with the local taste and style. The wine selection impresses patrons with its well-matched regional Tyrolean flavors.
It is a very good location, but it caused a lot of trouble for me yesterday, my train was also late and the rain caused havoc here. Water is water everywhere. Our experience at the restaurant today was disappointing. The waiting time for our main courses was 1,5 hours, and given that half of us only ordered the main course, it was too long. The staff did not give us any warning about the waiting times until we complained about it. When the food arrived, the fish was undercooked. The side dish was 1 small cooked potato for each person who ordered it. I did order boiled potatoes, but 1(!) small boiled potato the size of a chicken egg is not enough for a side dish. This was not the kind of experience you expect in this price range (I paid 18 euros for 3 asparagus sticks and that one small potato). I appreciate the restaurant trying to accommodate my needs as I am vegetarian, and the service was otherwise attentive. I would have appreciated a discount for the waiting time and partially poor food quality, but this was not offered.
Olga — Google review
Nice design, good service and great food. We were there as a large group with a prior reservation, for some reason the manager didn’t agree to join tables although we’ve completely filled the room, so we all sat at different tables. Other than that, the service was good and efficient. Although I’m not too fond of Austrian cuisine, the dishes were all great - including the ubiquitous weiner shnitzel we took for kids.
Michael I — Google review
(I only visited the restaurant.) It took 90 minutes before the food arrived. I ordered salmon with hollandaise, and for some reason they put tomato sauce on it. The combination obviously does not work at all, but luckily it was easy to remove. The dish also comes with a single potato, and an overwhelming amount of asparagus. The vegetarian person in our party had to order off menu, because there's nothing vegetarian on the menu, and she got some asparagus, grated cheese, and a single potato. This is not a good place for vegetarians. Another person in the group ordered fish, which came undercooked. The alcohol free gin tonic was nice.

This is a very comfortable hotel with gracious front desk staff. The room was charming. The location is just across the road from the beautiful lake, and an easy ride (by bike, car, or e-scooter) to Zell.

Had dinner here in this "2 forks" and it definitely didn't disappoint. From ambience, food and service, all in welcoming excellent taste. Perhaps in part because we were there when there wasn't a huge crowd, but I don't think it mattered as they really made sure we felt comfortable and had what we needed. Tried the gourmet menu and had some great tasting items. Flavour was somewhat strong for me, but I think it probably fit the local taste and style. Choice of wine pairing was on point and so impressed when they're local Tyrolean flavours. Would recommend anyone in the area to try dining here!

I recommend visiting the charming restaurant in Zell am See called Diele. The service is unparalleled, with a dedicated staff who genuinely cares about ensuring a memorable experience for guests, particularly Christoph & Effie. The food is exceptional, with every dish melting in your mouth. It was the best meal I had while in Zell am See in 2018, and even after five years, I visited this restaurant twice and still enjoyed the excellent service and food.
I tried the cheeseburger and it was really tasty. The bun and veggies were fresh, meat was just juicy and it all tasted great together. The portion was big, and you can get cheaper fries if you order them with a burger. On the other side other dishes weren’t so tasty - for example the pizza. The dough was a bit dry and the sauce tasted strongly of garlic. But if I was to rate this place only for the burgers I could leave 5 stars. The place itself was quite nice and the staff kind

The food was okay. However, the overall experience was brought down by the surprisingly cold and unwelcoming attitude of the staff. In a region known for warmth and hospitality, this stood out in a negative way. It felt transactional and indifferent, not what we expected from Austrian service. If you’re just here for the food, it’s worth a try — but don’t expect a warm welcome.

Very disappointing – I do not recommend at all. This was one of the worst dining experiences we have had in Europe. The food quality was extremely poor – the Bolognese pasta tasted industrial, like a cheap reheated meal, and certainly not like a fresh dish one would expect in a restaurant. Absolutely no effort or attention to detail. When we politely mentioned that the dish was sour and not tasty, the waiter simply laughed and told us there was nothing to do. We asked if it could be replaced, and he just said “no” and laughed again. Unprofessional and disrespectful service. Prices are unreasonably high: almost €15 for a small, unpleasant dish. Even water is not provided unless you pay – we were brought a tiny bottle for almost €4, barely enough for a single glass. It feels like clear exploitation of tourists. The pizza was also overpriced and of very low quality. Overall: a restaurant that targets tourists with high prices, poor food, and disrespectful service. A very bad experience – I do not recommend it at all.

For my 2 years old kid I ordered a portion of penne simply with tomato sauce. When pasta arrived , I tasted it and I felt it a little spicy. So I asked the waitress to check with the chef what he used to cooked that pasta. She came back confirming that was simply regular tomato , no pepper or chili. So even a bit embarrassed for my question I forced my baby to eat the pasta. Only after he refused to eat all the pasta I dive deep in the tomato sauce and I figure out there was black peppers. So I asked again waitress to check with the chef if he knows what product is using. The waitress after second attempt with chef confirmed the presence of peppers in the sauce. How this can happen inside a restaurant is a mystery for me considering that people may have allergy etc. I can also add that the restaurant take order for half portion of pasta bolognese but can not take an order for half portion of penne/ spaghetti al pommodoro (tomato), another mystery. If someone order pasta simply with tomato for a kid, you can not add spread parsley on top of it.

Berghotel Jaga Alm is a relaxed hotel that offers stunning views of Lake Zell and features a swimming pond and a rustic restaurant with a bar. The spa area includes 2 saunas, a steam bath, tropical shower, and a relaxation room with panoramic views of Zell am See. Guests praise the traditional Austrian cuisine served at the restaurant, made with products from the hotel's own farm.
We spent wonderful days at the Berghotel Jaga-Alm Hotel. The quiet and magnificent panoramic location of the family hotel at 1200m is a miracle in itself. It is very beautiful inside and out, and its staff is very kind, attentive and helpful, so that the guest can feel the best during his rest. The accommodation is especially pet-friendly, so we were very happy to be able to take our cat with us, most people of course come with dogs. 😊 Our room was spacious and clean, with an excellent panoramic view of the Zell am See lake and the surrounding mountains and lifts. (perhaps what is missing is the minibar/small fridge in the room) The restaurant and its terrace are equipped with very cozy wooden/log furniture and accessories, which provide a pleasant environment for meals or a good beer. We can enjoy our orders on the terrace with an excellent panoramic view. The breakfast buffet has everything you need to stimulate your eyes and mouth, to have a good meal and fill yourself up for the programs until the afternoon. On the table, there was always the daily report, what kind of weather to expect and what programs are recommended. Returning for dinner, it was always a good feeling to end the day with a delicious selection and a couple of good beers while enjoying the scenery. Thank you to the Jaga Alm team for the great days, we will definitely be back! 😊 😊 The "Zell am See Kaprun-Summer Card" card was included in the price of the accommodation, which we could use unlimitedly for the lifts and gorges in the region, but also provided us with a lot of discounts in many other places. That was a huge advantage!

Oh where can I start! This hotel is a hidden gem, and I’m really glad we found it. It’s very near to the city by driving, just a 9 minutes drive by car, parking is free and there are plenty of parkings. The location is great, it’s on the mountain, with SPECTACULAR VIEWS. We didn’t have problems finding the hotel at all, please follow the signs, I read some followed the gps alone and they got a bit lost, for us it was very easy. The drive might look a bit scary and you might think, is this the right way? are we lost? Yes it is the right way, don’t worry, relax and enjoy the views while you drive to the hotel. We were welcomed by the hotel owner, very sweet lady, very welcoming. Check-in was very quick and easy, summer card is provided. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it was gorgeous! It was big and had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms with queen beds in them, a small kitchen with a dishwasher, a stove, a fridge a microwave and a small coffee maker with coffee. There is a safe inside the closet of the bedroom. The apartment was clean and organized, There is no A/C ( we came in July ), but we opened the windows and the weather was beautiful, we didn’t feel hot at all, the cold breeze was beautiful. ( the windows need a mosquito window net, please add them) The hotel has a number of animals that kids can pet and my son was so happy about it, they have a kids play room and outdoor games as well, my son enjoyed the trampoline, there is also a natural pond ( non heated ) that you can swim in. Breakfast was simple but yummy, I LOVED that there was a station that you could mix your own omelette then fry it or fry you sunny side eggs or your meat ( please keep in mind Muslim guests, if the meat is pork it’ll make it difficult for us to use the frying stove ) I must say I was super happy with my stay and I strongly recommend it, I will definitely come back ❤️ P.S. the night before I had a book at a hotel that’s near the lake because I was looking for A/C, the hotel wasn’t as half as good as this one, don’t make it a must that you take it in the city, if I go back in time I’ll definitely book this hotel and not in the city again, don’t make our mistake.

Amazing place for relaxing and good views. Excellent for family. The room was very clean and new and the staff were very friendly and helpful. No halal food. It’s a bit nerve racking when you first get there but maybe because we arrived at night and lost our way due to google maps but still the slop is steep and the rails looks very very weak pretty sure it would not hold the car in case you veer off the course. Just be careful and arrive early. Don’t rely on google maps for this cause it will take you on different path just follow the signs, this is HIGHLY IMPORTANT to keep in mind. Example of the sign is shown in the photos. Forget about going back and forth to the Zell Am See by walking and no bus around the hotel so you will need a car. Parking is free. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff; clean, modern rooms. Food is good though not very special. The included "Sommerkarte" gives free access to ski lifts, busses and even the boat trip on the lake. There are some hiking options straight from the hotel, or by first taking the ski lift in Schmittten, a 15-20 minute walk (downhill, so on your way back up it will take somewhat longer). The ski lifts in Kaprun are about 25 minutes by car, giving access to many more hiking options. Staff are also very helpful in this respect.

One of, if not the the best, hotel I’ve stayed at. Why? We got upgraded to a large 3 room apartment with an absolute stunning view. Everything is clean and tidy and in perfect condition. Our kids loved the spring water pool. And the cows, donkey, sheep, hen, goats and guinea pigs living on first floor! The location high up (3,5 km and 350 m in altitude) gives a magnificent view overlooking the lake, but comes at the price: walking down and up to town will exhaust you. Do not try if not in descent shape! We opted for an all inclusive stay, where you make your own lunch pack and bring with you on whatever adventure lays ahead on that day. Clever! And activities there are lots and lots within half an hour drive or so. Lastly the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs (had two gluten allergies in our family). To notch in every way!

A beautiful mountain hotel on Zell am See with a view of the valley and the lake. Excellent cuisine, helpful staff, spacious rooms. A unique bathing biotope. Schloss Prielau is a luxurious hotel located in a 15th-century castle in Zell am See. The renowned restaurant, led by top chef Andreas Mayer, offers exceptional cuisine with strong flavors and combinations. The venue is popular for weddings due to the passionate and dedicated wedding coordinator, Anette Mayer. Guests praise the beautiful location, exquisite food, and impeccable service at Schloss Prielau.
Pros: This hotel is in a castle and is simply gorgeous! The staff, Annette and Max, were gregarious and helpful. (We loved this place. It was our favorite during our Austrian excursion.) Cons: It's about a ten minute drive to town or a 35-minute walk. However, that might be a "pro," as the location is very quiet.

I urge anyone and everyone visiting Zell am See to stay here. Anette is the most gracious host and truly makes this place feel like home. The rooms themselves are beautiful and are fitted with every thoughtful detail you can think of. The breakfast is second to none. Do not hesitate and be sure to book here for your next trip!
Jess T — Google review
We selected Schloss Prielau for our small destination wedding. The exclusive use of the venue made the stay very unique and intimate for our guests. Each bedroom and suite was stunning, built with spectacular detail to every finish. Anette and her team were exceptional at ensuring that our guests experienced a one of a kind wedding and overnight stay. She even brought out the sunshine on an otherwise rainy week.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Schloss Prielau. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, blending history with modern comfort. Service was immaculate from start to finish — our host Annette and her staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. What made our visit even more special was the vibrant Porsche community we met during our stay. Their passion and camaraderie created such a memorable atmosphere and added a unique touch to the experience.

Highly recommend staying here, it's such a unique experience to stay in a castle! We stayed in a couple 5 star hotels in Austria before coming here and the beds here were the most comfortable! Annette was incredible - I was under the weather and she was so warm and hospitable, bringing me meds and tea to get better. The castle is beautiful and they've done a great job keeping the charm and tradition yet making sure that the bathrooms are renovated and rooms are equipped with everyone you need. Just an fyi, if you don't have a car it's a 25 minute walk along the beautiful lake to town or an inexpensive 5 minute cab ride. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

One of my favorite accommodations of all time! Spacious, clean, comfortable, great food, beautiful breakfast, easy paperless checkin, courteous and helpful staff, and many amenities and special touches! Will definitely be back again.

We had an excellent time at Schloss Prielau. We loved everything about our stay - the room, the restaurants, the service, the surrounding nature, but mostly - the host, Anette. I can't find proper words to describe how kind and attentive Anette is. You have to experience it yourself! What I can say is that she'll make you feel like the most special guest at Schloss Prielau. Thanks to her recommendation we visited some of the greatest places in the area, not the usual crowded instagram-y ones. We tasted great food and wine and we had our first gourmet restaurant experience. Which I also recommend if you are visiting in a day when Mayer's restaurant is opened. Surrounding nature is great, the lake is just a few minutes walking distance from the Schloss and there is also a private beach where you can enjoy. Back to Anette - amazing lady, who will make you feel very welcome at this place. And that's how every guest is treated! All of the other staff were also very kind and made us love our stay. I cannot recommend this place enough and would be happy (to say the least) to visit again!

Passed by, name of restaurant attract me, location says it’s a tourist area that’s mean low quality of service and expensive dinning. Ordered simple dish like kebab and humus. Meat was nice second was terrible like can humus(( and far away from generous, the plate was just painted with humus cream. Ordered a coke came in glass filled from 2 litres bottles. I had to reject that, than came a can with plastic mug!(( if you’re restaurant you should improve your service with its main experience for people who are dinning. All that for 40€

I tried their apple pie and it was so good that i order it twice ( with a side of vanilla). The lady that works there was very warm and welcoming and was very understanding when i ordered ice coffee which they normally don’t have but she was willing to make it for me. The view on the terrace was everything. Tikka masala was LITERAL heaven. The salad looked a bit plain but was really tastefull and yummy and fulfilling. On the side we ordered the garlic bread which was tasty. We also ordered a burger. The bun was a bit hard and broke into pieces but all in all it was great. I asked them to make an iced matcha latte and it was AMAZING. The stuff was really kind and fun!! I definitely recommend it, it may be a bit pricey (depends on where are you from) but definitely worth it. ❤️

A suitable place to eat if you enjoy spending a lot on simple food. The chicken burger was very disappointing — for that price, I expected at least real, fresh chicken, not a processed product. Overall, the place was underwhelming and not worth the money. I’d recommend choosing another spot to eat

Sat down and waited to be served, since the waiter didnt show, we went inside to ordered. The waiter was pretty irritated that we came inside and said that they would be serving us outside. Also there was no other people here, so it was not like they had much to do. Then when we wanted to order one more beer and the karen with short blond hair was very irritated that we confirmed just one beer totaly instead of one each person. Not a pleasant visit.

When we entered the restaurant, it was half empty. We wanted to eat with three persons. The moment we walked in, a lady told us that we couldn’t have dinner, because there were still 2 big groups coming. When we left the restaurant we had some doubts about this reason. It really looked good, but unfortenetly we will not come back… ** reply to reaction: This is not how it went. We came in and there were several tables free at 20:00. Us was told that there were still 2 big groups coming. So this was the reason we had to leave. The lady didn’t tell us that there were no tables free cause we didn’t make an reservation. We just had the feeling they didn’t want to serve us. So maybe next time tell people you’re fully booked.

If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of Istanbul, make sure to stop by the Istanbul Kebab Restaurant for a delightful culinary experience. This Turkish halal eatery offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, including their standout beef doner and mixed grill options that are sure to satisfy your cravings. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly staff like Naser and Hussain who go above and beyond to ensure you feel at home.
Came into town hungry from my travels. In my last stop of the journey I had stopped at Istanbul kebab to treat myself to a kebab. When I arrived. Naser greeted me with friendly energy. He crafted me a kebab that gave me the strength to carry out my travels. A beautiful mix of meat, fresh veggies and aromas that were unmatched to any average doner shop. If you find yourself here. Food was like a 00:00 kebab. What I didn’t like is that the price on the board is 7,50 per box, but when you pay they want 8,50. The moment you say something about it, they try to intimidate you. Typical for this type of people. Also I got the impression no so keen business was going one. People come to the open window asking for some guy, some code word, and go to the terrace and walk out. It was clear what was happening.

Honestly the food was good, the staff is very friendly especially Hussain, a very nice guy. Our food was around 56.50€ for Mix grill, donerteller and Adan kabab with four drinks and he charged us less. It’s a Turkish halal resturant and the prices are fair for halal food in such tourism place. Drinks were not cold, the fridge they have is not working when we were there. But overall the place is good. food and price is average. Staff are very nice I like Hussain and his sweet tong.

Watching small planes take off and land while enjoying a delicious meal is such a special experience. The food is great, the staff are friendly, and the setting is simply unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing spot with a view

We ordered one burger without bacon and asked them to spilt it into two half’s but they asked that they will charge us for 2.5 euro and I’m really disappointed that why should I pay for removing the bacon One more order was pasta carbonara with white sauce but it was verrrry dry and doesn’t taste good Also I asked the for ketchup and mayo and they charged me for them 2 euro We ordered zupfkuchem I’m not happy at all with my experience

The food was unexpectedly delicious. We ordered 2 kinds of meat and both were so soft and well cooked. The place itself is very nice with good design and not loud.

Great location far outside of Schüttdorf but still walkable, really good food and nice service. The ambience is great with a very airport like interior design. Schnitzel was on point and also the other orders were good. Defintly worth a visit. You won't regret it.

Very special place to have dinner! Service was good and food was great. We both had a starter and main course.

It's weird to say the minimum. It's very simple, crowded, noisy, and excellent. Had a lovely experience here and tasted delicious food.

(Translated by Google) I have been a loyal customer since I was a child. For me they are by far the best cakes. 🍰 🎂 The price is absolutely fair - they are huge pieces and always fresh. Only top regional products are used, you can taste that too 😋😋 a real family business since time immemorial 🥰 (Original) Ich bin schon seit Kind ein treuer Kunde.

Slow Down is a cozy cafe and bar in Zell am See, offering a relaxed ambiance and a menu featuring pizzas, pasta, grilled meats, and seafood. Visitors have enjoyed flavorful dishes such as Tawooks, Cream Chicken, Futitjuni Chicken, lasagna, and various pasta plates. While the food was delicious with decent prices and professional staff providing great service, some guests wished for more flexibility in modifying dishes.
Eat here on New Year's eve, without a reservation. Gracious Lady, who I unfortunately didn't get her name, fitted us in and was a superb hostess. We had a fantastic meal and a lovely bottle of wine. Could not recommend it any higher!

The food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. However, there were quite a few flies around, which did affect the overall dining experience a bit. It’s a lovely place with great potential, and hopefully the issue can be improved, because the food truly deserves a better setting.

From the moment we walked in, everything was outstanding. The staff greeted us with the utmost respect and kindness. The menu was clear and easy to navigate, and every dish we tried was simply delicious. Portions were generous, filling, and the prices were very reasonable. Our choices: • Penne pasta with chicken, cream, and mushrooms → 10/10 • Chicken breast with cream, mushrooms, and rice → 10/10 • Meat kibbeh → 8/10 The outdoor seating area is also beautiful, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, this is one of the best restaurants in Zell am See. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting!

The food was amazing and absolutely delicious, with portions that are very suitable. The service was excellent—staff were attentive and always available when needed. The atmosphere is lovely, especially the outdoor seating even in cold or rainy weather. They also paid great attention to detail, offered us complimentary tea when leaving, and even took care of the parking for guests. A wonderful experience overall!

We had a delicious meal here. Pizzas for the teenagers and seafood and a Greek salad for the adults. Really tasty food. Definitely better than your average tourist fare. Our waitress Claudia was hilarious and very attentive. We loved it so much we went back the next night and had equally good service from Ibrahim. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Restaurant Basmati is a delightful Indian eatery that offers a charming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe, although there may be slight delays in service. Diners can savor an array of delicious dishes that evoke the flavors of India, including unique offerings like mango curry. While some may find portion sizes on the smaller side relative to prices, many guests appreciate the overall experience and variety available on the menu.
It was a great experience! Lots of variation of meal choices and the food tastes great. Staff were very polite and nice, and a very relaxing experience!!!! Had mango curry as my main dish!

Very delicious Indian restaurant with, a nice atmosphere, they have indoor and outdoor seating areas, The staff is friendly and nice but there’s a delay a little bit. I note that the dishes are too small in comparison to the cost . I really enjoyed eating here and I’ll come again in the future.
Ibrahim S — Google review
They claim to be authentic Indian and Italian restaurant, but the Indian cuisine is not even close to the original taste. We ordered samosa which was probably a packed one re-heated in the oven. We also ordered lamb and paneer. My wife says that his younger brother who just started cooking can cook better than that. I do not recommend it, if you’re looking for authentic Indian taste.
Saradh T — Google review
Unhygienic- Bees all over - even inside the restaurant Food okay and over priced Staff racist and rude. We asked for water after asking for check thinking that now he will supply tap water; instead he drew up a new bill came up with a water bottle and insisted that we now pay for the water bottle also. Started abusing saying this is not India or Pakistan and we don’t know rules here in Austria and that we can be handed to police. When I wanted to pay, settle and leave, he was not willing to accept either debit or credit card and wanted all money in cash. After I paid him cash, he threw the change back on my table. When we were leaving he also said aloud “Go to hell”. Extremely aggressive, raciest and rude. My wife was afraid by his behaviour that she just wanted us to pay and leave without any more discussion. Which is what we ended up doing. If I visit zell am see again, I’m never visiting this restaurant even if that’s the last one standing.

One of Indian with Italian cuisine. Beyond criticis of two different cuisine. The food was delicious and felt like having it in India. The price is okay. They have good parking. Also, they are opening a big Indian grocery shop.

Service was good and people are kind. Food quality was very normal and price was extremely expensive compared to the food quality. Also the dish was little only 4 small chicken pieces for a whole butter chicken dish!!!. Not recommended.

The food has no taste! This is not even close to indian food. But the waiters are friendly and fast services… المطعم موووو شيييييي
