The 10 best restaurants to have dinner in Arcen

The mayonnaise, fries, and salt were good. However, the kibbeling tasted more like unsalted pretzel sticks than actual fish. And six small pieces of Kibbeling for 22€ is way too much. The remoulade sauce was filled with what seemed like salad or something similar, and it didn’t stick to the fish at all. Honestly, any store-bought remoulade under €1 would have been better. The service was somewhat decent, but due to our overall disappointment, I can only give one star. I'm sorry. I can recommend Peeters in Arcen for way better Kibbeling or baked fish. :)

I find this restaurant hard to review as some dishes were extraordinarily well prepared, while others... Not so much. Perhaps the fact that we were with a big group on a very busy day is to blame for the few smaller mistakes, including a little bit long waiting time between courses and a seemingly exhausted staff. All taken together, the menu is great, the food well made, the location really cute, but it definitely does not add up to a 5/5, so... 4 stars!

We had a late lunch here around 4 PM on a Saturday. All the indoor tables where reserved for 5 PM but we told them we will be out as soon as they bring us the food so they allowed us to sit inside as it was cold outside. We ordered the Italian burger which was delicious. Fries was fresh and delicious. Surf and Turf was OK because the steak was tough. All in all a good experience

Not knowing, unaware of this concept, we were surprised by the gyoza's, a melting saltiness accompanied by the greenest soya beans we've ever seen. Hence, we enjoyed the burning sun, sitting on the triangle shaped terrace. Thankfull for the friendly and helpfull staff we say goodbye gracefully. Amen

A very comfortable restaurantwith really delicious dishes and friendly service. We ate there twice...once for dinner al fresco and the following day for lunch inside as weather cooler and wetter...both a nice experience.

The food was good we had the chicken sate (skewers) and the raisins crêpes. But the service was rather slow and not very attentive even though they seemed over staffed. I gave a 5* because I can't give 4.5.

All by all not really a bad place. However ordering an omelet brings you something super oily, full of cheese, not really sophisticated.. but biggest issue are the flies when you are sitting indoor. You really get harassed by a dozen flies who manage to touch your food before you can waive them off. Quite disgusting.

Very cute traditional pancake house on the outskirts of Arcen. We visited at lunchtime and the place was very popular with lots of tourists and locals enjoying their pancakes. The staff were friendly and helpful and accommodating when the kids wanted to make up their own pancakes. During our visit our group had both savoury and sweet pancakes. My husband would highly recommend the Arcen special pancake served with sausage, potato rosti and pickled onions (sounds weird but he thoroughly enjoyed it)

Great place for a family! They have a huge selection of both savory and sweet pancakes, something for everyone. There’s outdoor seating and even a mini-golf area on the patio, which makes it extra fun. The staff is super friendly and bilingual. Even though everything is made fresh, the service is really quick. Definitely worth a visit!

Mini-golf is great fun, Dutch patrons are very cool about letting smaller groups go ahead when things back up, German ones not so much. Perfect pancakes! Both my unsweet pancake, as well as my wife’s sweet one, were stunning! Portions are so big, that you need to be really hungry before, to eat it all. Service is very friendly, and dishes were served within 15 minutes.

Been here one evening on a Saturday and unfortunately we did not have a booking. Fortunately, the water was so nice and told us it's a 5 min waiting time. The service is great, everyone was so nice and polite. The atmosphere it's also very nice, good place to hang out and enjoy with friends and family. The pancakes selection is very nice and wide, they serve the food pretty fast. The pancake was just delicious, loved it, it had such a perfect taste balance that it actually felt like a pizza! Recommend this place and will for sure visit again when I will be in the area.

Didn't have a room, came for lunch. Extensive menu

Frankly we wouldn't stay here for more than 1 night. We had the feeling customer' business is not appreciated, in the service business that's a killer. There is no lift in the place and first stairs up are "suicidal " when you carry luggage. We had trouble with our safe in hotel room(not sure whose fault), when I called about, answer was person who knows how to handle comes later. When I called back an hour so later, I had the distinct feeling first person I talked to didnt pass on our message. One day our room wasnt cleaned even though we had sign out there "please clean room". The hotel apologized. Last point price/quality is out of whack here, Euro 130+ for a dark room under ceiling is an absolute NO NO. Toilet looked "seventees" style. We had dinner here one night, ordered 2 burgers(tasty), a few glasses of wine and a dessert, almost EURO 90, that's too much. We have feeling management is a bit spoiled because of central location. Frankly dont think we will return.

Such a disappointment this hotel. They give preference to their own system and put the guests in a second position. We just traveled through middle Europe and in every hotel in Germany, Austria, Czechia etc, the out check time is 12, and sometimes you can request to have a late check out. For us this was not necessary but we assumed the out check time was 12. However it appeared to be 11. My friend was not ready but had to hurry up and leave the hotelroom at 11:20 because they wanted to start their cleaning program with our room with the number 1. My friend suggested them to already start cleaning while he was re-arranging the suitcase and stuff but they forced him to first immediate check out and pay, because their system didn't slow them to clean before the official check out. No apologies, highly unfriendly behavior. The hotel itself was ok, although the room was quite small and the double bed consisted of two single beds of which the mattresses constantly 'flow' from each other. The breakfast is a bit limited in choice, if you consider the price of $15-$16 (and if you compare it to the large breakfast choices in hotels in Germany for instance for roughly the same price or cheaper). I would have given the hotel a 3* or a 4* but the huge disappointment about their stubborn systematic, customer unfriendly approach spoiled our mood completely

Lovely place, historical bldg. Staff could improve on English, but it's then, eastern Dutch. Free parking. Pretty garden. Some Rooms in bldg. Across garden. Clerk shows you the place and watches you handle the 2nd door with 3 pieces of bulky luggage. And if you thought the deal room is good for you, think twice in case you have physical reservations, as you need to climb a very narrow and steep staircase with your heavy bags. Clerk watches you assess the climb and your health issues and leaves happily. You expect more from such a place, at least a warning. Best to leave bags in car then to save one obstacle lap. Room is neat, mix of old and modern, as are the salons. Morning staff also unprofessional, didn't know room was paid for upon arrival. Not coming back despite frequent trips to the area.

This place is in a great location but I'm not sure if it's covid and the loss of money over the last year or the management of the hotel, but this place needs some TLC. The staff are also very nice but having one person handling check out and breakfast service is not a good idea. Waiting 20 min to checkout or get seated is not ideal. And having wallpaper falling off the walls and dust rooms is really unhygienic, but the bathroom was spotless. Again all these issues seem like financial and management problems and staff are working the best they can with what they have.

I wouldn't write a review if not a screaming sign on the hotel trying to convince you It's 4 star hotel. Maybe in 70s it was but today although our room was big, there was just 1 very small window, beds and pillows with covers are uncomfortable and dated, same goes for the bathrooms and furniture in general. But the biggest annoyance for us was flies in the restaurant! They were plentiful... What was good is the customer service, cannot say anything bad, very helpful and friendly.

The worst hotel ever. Dirty, smelly dark room without any standard. This place in my opinion isn't suitable for people. Very easy to catch some disease because of bed bugs . Arrogant service. If you wont to be flustered, unsatisfied and treated like a punk, lose your money and health... Up to you. Great food. But yet again the rooms are tired. Stayed at two Fletcher hotels. Public areas are fine. Bathroom in one was worn out. Bedroom windows were in a terrible state in the other. Shame.

This place have nothing to do with a 4* hotel. Room was damage and dirty. Very bad strong smell from bathroom. For dinner we got a meat from the freezer, without taste, we couldn't even to cut it. Hotel have a pictures with big swimming pool, but that pool is 1km in totally separate wellness center.

Little outdated hotel but overal it was fine. Most important is that its clean and it was. Bed was fine and personel was really nice. Location is ok, but next to a busy road so if you get a room on the wrong side you might hear traffic.

Ok hotel but room are nothing special. The brewery nearby I can advise to visit. Here the beers of Hertog Jan are brewed which to my opinion are some of the best of the Netherlands. We used the hotel before a flight we had from airport Weeze which is nearby. For this stay it was good enough but I wouldn't advise to stay here for a week or so. Rooms are a bit like a business hotel. The restaurant and bar look nice.

Me and my partner were looking for a hidden spot where we could hang out just the two of us and eat different desserts. We definitely found it. The place is beautiful, cozy and always has different desserts for us to try. And the staff is truly welcoming. One of our favourite places in the Netherlands.

We went for a brunch. One of the best we ever had. Delicous, fresh and many different options. Cozy interior and the service was excellent.

We were seated with a group of 10 and asked to order drinks. Only after we ordered drinks the staff informed us we couldn’t order lunch, because we were a too big group. We tried if we could make it work, I.e. if we ordered in groups so they didn’t have to serve out all plates at once but their decision was final. We felt tricked into ordering drinks first and only then hearing we couldn’t get food. This was during lunch time on a Sunday. We made it clear that we didn’t like the situation. When we left, the kitchen staff said goodbye in a patronising way. When my girlfriend didn’t respond the even mocked her for not saying goodbye, in such a way that we could hear it.
