A hidden gem. Just off the main sea front at Marsalforn, this little cafe serves the best coffee and cakes on the island. A good selection of home made cakes, a must for anyone visiting Gozo.

This little bakery is takeaway only, but definitely worth a stop. It feels very local and rustic, and you can even watch the bread being baked. Prices are fair, and everything is handmade. The pizza isn’t the usual style, but has its own unique, authentic taste. If you want to try something really traditional, go for the one with meat and potatoes.

Local Pizza, taste was very good but this place is only for take away. They have no option to eat there except one bench in front of the bakery, seemed very popular with locals and prices are reasonable

Absolutely amazing pizza, one of the best I had. The bakery is a traditional bakery in Gozo serving pizzas on traditional bread dough. We had 3 pizzas that are freshly prepared in the traditional oven: Tuna, Pepperoni and Meaty with potatoes. All delicious! They offer much more bakery options apart from pizza. The service is great as well as food. Highly recommend to visit.

Nice choice of oven baked pizzas in a traditional oven. I almost always visit when in Gozo. If you're flexible about what to eat you can just turn up but I prefer to call in advance. There are no dine in options but the bakery has kept the traditional look.

Deliciously prepared salad! The staff is cheerful, extremely friendly and the atmosphere is great! It’s close to the main bus station and if you’re in Gozo I highly recommend it!

One of the best English Breakfasts on the island - and also value for money. Local staff are really efficient also. I don't recommend taking the table by the door due to the constant footfall. The rest - amazing food.

We got off the bus at Victoria and wanted a drink. Nearest café to the bus station and what a treat. A wide selection of well presented cakes and good drinks selection. We had a connolie and snickers pie, with a latte machiato and chai latte. Staff where very friendly and nice quiet atmosphere. Would recommend.

We left quite impressed from that lovely place ! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food arrived within minutes although the place was crowded. And the food was more than delicious ! It was on another level ! I would definitely come back here !

Service was excellent with our meals. Price is very affordable. Staff are excellent, and my friend drinks cappuccino all the time here. Cakes were amazing.

O had the chicken club sandwich and it was perfectly made. Also they had very good pancakes.

If you’re in Gozo, I highly recommend checking out this place. The food was excellent, and the staff were genuinely friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again for breakfast the next day. It’s the kind of spot that makes your trip even more memorable.

We just had an incredible lunch here. The fish special (filet of denci with olives, capers, tomatoes, wine, lemon) was absolutely spectacular. The fish was so fresh & delicious perfectly cooked & the flavors & toppings were incredible… & the portion was huge… just wow. The vegetarian pizza was also outstanding. We originally asked to sit outside, but that wasn’t available at the time so we sat inside & were fine with it… but soon a table became available, so our kind & friendly waiter offered it to us. The location on Victory Square is perfect & we enjoyed watching the setup for a big church celebration this evening. Inside is fine too, but it had less ambience & some 80s music that is not our cup of tea. The food arrived quickly; within 10-15 minutes of ordering I think. You pay inside if paying with card. The desserts in the case looked delicious.

Very friendly service, fantastic food, prices similar to other restaurants in the area, great view in the heart of Xaghra. Evenings are more crowded.

I highly recommend this restaurant in Malta! The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was great. The Limoncello Spritz was an excellent cocktail – refreshing and perfectly balanced. A wonderful spot to enjoy a meal without spending too much!

Not good experience We had pasta carbonara and pasta with rabbit and my partner stopped eating after few bites and asked me if i can smell something weird with the food . I said no. Obviously he did not continue to eat and was vomiting extensively in hour or so. I am sick in my stomach 4 hours after eating Don’t recommend this place.

Tremendous find a few mins off the ferry. Lovely pastry, excellent bread and a delicious pastizz to boot. Friendly service for us visitors. Genuine local spot. Really cheap (€5 for 6x small pastries, loaf of bread and a pastizz). There is a small playground a couple of meters up the road, perfect for kids. Card payment possible.

Overrated, you have to wait a big line to get worst breakfast ever. I asked for chicken pie and got chicken with pork bbq pizza. A lot of fly's inside sitting on baked goods. And not most respectful locals go there.

This is one of the last few traditional bakeries on the island. It’s easy to find as it’s on one of the villages’ main roads and there are always some people waiting outside for the next fresh oven bake. You will find lots to choose from, they have all sorts of local bread, pastries, etc. It’s a family-run bakery that goes back generations and they’re very passionate about their products. They have frozen goods that can be baked back at home, local type pizza and a vast variety of cakes including seasonal traditional pastries. Not a good shop to visit if you are weight watching.

This is an absolute local gem run by locals who care. Grabbed some super fresh and huge Ftira sandwiches for a cheap 3euros to go. Worth taking a detour from the tourist mess that is Victoria. The ambiance was super homely and locals were coming in and out around lunch time to grab loaves of fresh bread. You can see the team making it right there in front of you behind the counter! Cannot recommend enough.

A great evening meal by the sea! The food was all great and portions are big :) uou won't go away hungry. The octopus was one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this place....not too many tables outside so book in advance :)

After a quick dip in the sea what better way is there to finish off than have a nice lunch in Xlendi. I chose Zafiro and what a good choice it was. The service was prompt and there is a good selection of food on the menu for reasonable prices. All the food we had was very nice indeed. If you happen to be down here, give this restaraunt a try.

It was great service, very attentive and quick. The food was great too, we had tartufo mushroom ravioli clearly a recommendation if you like mushrooms and risotto. Both really good and filling. We came here at evening/night. We didn't had to wait for a table and had a nice view on the sea, also prices are affordable.

Absolutely delicious food. We had the ribeye steak and the sea bream. Both grilled and seriously good. The best food we've had in Xlendi/Gozo so far (night 3 of 8). Great quality beef. As strange as it sounds, the side salad was TO DIE FOR! The pistachio fondant is amazing too 🤩 Each member of staff was friendly, attentive and professional and made us feel very welcome. The prices are quite high but I feel it's the same as most places in Xlendi and the quality is better here!! It's peaceful in the evenings and it's a nice atmosphere, good people watching, quiet, lovely to sit outdoors. Highly recommend.

Very nice restaurang at beach. I had two dinners, both very tasty and reasonable priced. Outside You can watch kind of sunset and watersports at bay.

I went with my grandparents for lunch to this lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend eating there.

We had both the set menu as well as a la cart for our stay in Xlendi. Food was always great & a big portion. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cocktails were delicious. If we come back to Gozo we will make sure to eat there again.

I really enjoyed my meal here. The iced coffee, beetroot burger and mango tiramisu were all super tasty (and all vegan!). I especially liked the mango tiramisu which I've never had before, the vegan cream was surprisingly rich and creamy. The atmosphere is chill and the owner is friendly and kind, you can tell a lot of love is going into this bistro. Everyone who comes to Gozo should eat here, it's a great place to get some energy for a long day of exploring Gozo!

What a delight to discover a fully vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan options, especially one that's rare to find on the island! The interior is cozy and inviting, with a few outdoor tables. The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful, gladly offering suggestions when we asked about the menu. Be sure to save room for dessert as their sweet options are delicious and well worth trying. A wonderful spot for plant-based dining!

Alive Bistro is always our go to eatery when we are in Gozo. As far as I know it is the only restaurant in Gozo which does not serve meat. They are not fully vegan, but they have a lot of vegan options. It has a really cool atmosphere, with a small park next to it, which can especially be nice, when sitting outside The staff is really friendly and the food is yummy, they are always trying new things on there special menu and each time you go there you find new amazing cakes 😋

This vegetarian place is a real gem! It is the perfect place for anyone craving wholesome, homemade goodness. You can truly taste each and every ingredient in all the food listed on the menu. This also comes with a very reasonable price and great service.

This was a nice surprise touring Gozo. We didn’t see much restaurants in Malta with only vegetarian and vegan options and it was such a nice place for food and drinks. It was delicious :)

So happy I found this amazing vege cafe. 90% of the menu is vegan. They have one pescatarian dish, which is questionable, given that eating fish supports cruelty to animals. It has been proven fish feel pain. Also with over fishing world wide! Very friendly place with delicious food, including unique vegan cakes and creative specials. I have the Pumpkin 🥧 passionfruit lemonade, lavender hot 🍫☕️with 🍫 mousse cake🍰. All cakes are raw vegan and sugar free. Very fresh using seasonal ingredients, tasty plant based goodness. Thank you

We just came for a coffee but got a tour at the back of the confectionery itself, so many delicious free samples that we were seeping sugar from our pores, and the absolute friendliest treatment from the owners that anyone could ever wish for. A unique, hidden gem on this small island, I already miss it!

Amazing cakes doughnuts bread and more! Look out for the van if you're in Nadur and locality, you'll get to know the horn if your like us and go running! Friendly staff, gave us local info about were to go. Just a great local traditonal bakery! Beautiful! An absolute must!

One of the highlights of our whole trip to Malta was visiting this bakery during our boat trip to Gozo. We bought a few of the local delicacies including the almond biscuits, doughnuts and pea/ricotta pastries and each of them were delicious. We now can’t get enough of the almond biscuits and wish we could visit every day! Thank you so much for a welcoming visit!

I stopped by Sphinx Pastizzeria in Gozo and grabbed 3 cheese pastizzis, they were unreal. Perfectly flaky pastry, golden and crisp on the outside, with a warm, creamy ricotta filling that just melted in my mouth. Simple, traditional, and absolutely delicious. If you’re anywhere near Victoria, do yourself a favour and try one (or three). This place is a gem!

Really nice pastries only you get this Gozo..I call this best pastries made in haven ....best is peas fillings but the cheeses filling second to none. I tried both this will fill you up proper . Both my young girls tried the Nutella filled pastries which is the sweet version really liked it. Well worth trying..

I should have read the reviews before coming here, as unfortunately I too faced the poor service this chain is famous for. On one of the Saint George feast days some friends and I decided to stop here on the way back to the parking lot. It was around 11:30 pm. I was surprised to see pastizzi in the display that late. I asked the employee if these were fresh. She quickly became agitated and confrontational, raising her voice. I tried to amicably defuse the situation and said that I was just asking a simple question. She kept going on, making a scene, complaining multiple times that she was here working at midnight and had to deal with questions from customers. I later thought to myself that I found her point a bit odd seeing how she chose to move literally half-way around the world and to then take this job. She continued making a scene, so I informed her that I won't be spending my money there, and I turned around, and we all walked away. I knew what she was trying to do as I've seen this before when I lived abroad for many years. Its a tactic of a certain part of the world, where they make you feel that you did something wrong so that you feel guilty and spend more. If you are a tourist or a local who is in search of real local food then do not shop at this large corporate chain that has absolutely nothing local about it. Do not give them your business, and do not accept this rude and disrespectful behavior. If you accept it then this will be the norm going forward. You are better off shopping at a real bakery in one of the villages, where ftira is not incorrectly pronounced as "fatira". To the owners of this chain, if you hire garbage then that is exactly the type of service your customers will receive.

Probably one of the last traditional Maltese bakeries left! Run by a sweet lady named Paula. She makes the tastiest, most traditional Maltese bread you will ever find on these Islands! She uses a traditional wood fired oven. If it wasn't for the blackened chimney you'd never suspect this was a bakery. This is one of our favourite places to visit when we come to Gozo. We love coming to buy Paula's bread and we especially love the sweet fennel rings she makes.

That's a very authentic experience, great bread 🥖 Don't hesitate to pop in through the unmarked door between wooden pallets and boxes. You will find yourself in a unique place, where the bread comes straight from the furnace. Definitely check this place while being around!

Came across this bakery staying in the area on holiday. It’s easily missed as it’s literally a door in the wall. Go inside and it’s a basic room and a traditional oven. I’ve no idea of opening hours but best try the mornings. There were all sorts of bread and baked items for sale, including pizzas on one visit. Take change but expect to pay ‘pennies’ (or cents). Took a huge uncut loaf and 8 bread buns for €2. Home made baking at its best. A brilliant find 😀

Beautiful, traditional hot bread from this little bakery. No signage outside, just a door in the wall. Step inside for fresh wood fired bread - some of the best bread we have ever eaten!

Absolutely lovely traditional Maltese/ Gozitan bakery down a little side street in Qal, run by such a sweet lady. The bread was proper traditional style, and crazily cheap.

Amazing bread, I wish I had this woman nearby my house. Be careful because indeed it only opens a couple of hours per day. It is the lower area of a house, so there is no sign outside of being a bakery, but if you get to the location where google maps says, you should be able to see the open door. When I went she only had bread, I’m not sure she bakes anything sweet.
