One of the best places I've ever been to for brunch.The staff is friendly and fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The food is so delicious. Its worth the wait and every penny you spend there or to-go. I had to get some sweets to-go. They did not disappoint. Get a menu when you walk in and be ready to order when its your turning line. It makes the process run smoothly and fast. We just love this place. Its our new breakfast lunch or brunch restaurant.

Came here today for the first time just visiting the city and it was absolutely wonderful. I had the bacon quiche and it was amazing as well as the ham and cheese croissant. My coffee was also delicious! Unfortunately my phone DID NOT eat first when it came to that quiche and croissant but I have the proof that it was delicious… (my empty plate) My family also enjoyed their plates as well! They got avocado toast, the wake up call and the last dish I don’t remember the name of. The staff was also extremely kind and helpful. They were extremely busy so the food took a wee bit longer than expected but their employee was so kind enough to reassure us that it would be coming. She kept the customers all around us happy. She also combined tables to give my family a comfortable place to sit since there’s 5 of us and had someone over right away to wipe the table down.

What a beautiful restaurant in Lake Charles. Very large seating area and lots of options to pick from. They also have rotating and seasonal specials. The quality of the food was amazing. However, the service was lackluster, my Salmon toast came around 30 minutes after ordering. There wasn’t clear communication if utensils were supposed to be delivered to the table. Other than that, I would definitely come back for the food!

We came here for breakfast after googling best places in Lake Charles. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere wonderful. The quiche was so creamy and delicious. The pastries were awesome. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Job well done!

STELLAR BEANS coffee house & edibles - Lake Charles, LA Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - very much a local, artsy hangout. There are welcoming regulars of all shapes & sizes. Plenty of art displayed & for sale including paintings, cups, etc. Large menu with Star Wars themed drinks, as well as really delicious sandwiches. Open on Sundays which is not a norm for a locally owned shop. I always visit on my way to brunch. There was also local jazz music being played today. Drinks: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - strong coffee flavor & the syrups don’t taste artificial at all. Lots of options. I love the snickerdoodle with cold foam 🥰 Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - parking is a wheelchair users nightmare 😵‍💫 all of downtown lake Charles needs a little cement refresh. A few spots directly up front, parallel parking. There is also a one way alley close by with zero handicapped spots. There is also an extremely deep crevice in the alley that NEEDS to be fixed (not stellar beans fault). The front doors are double but one stays locked so it’s a tight squeeze. Once inside, it’s very roomy with low top tables & couches. Where the coffee is served is (estimated) 5ft from the ground so that is not accessible for a wheelchair user. Restroom is single with correctly placed grab bars.

Visited from Texas for a mini get away and fell in love with this spot! I got a Java the Hut latte and it took me by surprise. The cutie with the half white half black hair, mentioned that the owner’s favorite flavor was the one I ordered and I can see why! It was sooooo delicious I had to go back the next day for another one. I ordered one of the egg stacks which was awesome that they have keto/paleo options. It’s hard to come across places that offer a breakfast item that’s friendly to my dietary restrictions. I couldn’t help myself and also tried the BLT with brie and grapes, the next day and wow! I was happy to had use my cheat meal for that sandwich. They even spelled my name correctly which is uncommon. Very sweet owners and pleasant staff! Loved the trinket basket; leave one take one! Never seen that anywhere else either. Can’t forget to mention that it’s been over a month since I visited this place and the beautiful little spotted plant I bought has now grown 3 new leaves. It’s a spotted Begonia and pothos in one!

Spent the night in Lake Charles and was looking for a good coffee spot next morning. Mission accomplished. I absolutely loved this place, combining my favorite genre of space themed movies and TV shows (Trekkie and Star Wars fan), and good coffee, food and atmosphere. My cold brew was outstanding, smooth with notes of chocolate. I had Bacon, Eggs, Sausage and cheese minus the bread. It was awesome and filling. My GF had the Interstellar Cristo and she raved about how good it was. The staff were two young ladies and they were friendly and amazing. There was an awesome atmosphere with plenty of space to sit and enjoy your beverage and food orders. Come out and support local businesses and avoid chains. I highly recommend this place!

This place is as described. Great customer service, amazing does not begin to describe the food here. The combination of different tastes will keep your mind guessing and your mouth exploding. 🤯 Great atmosphere and makes sure you stop by if you are near.

I love this place! It's only open from 7am to 2pm. There is a local artist named Ernest Courville "Coach" and his pal Mitch Pickering (musician) who regulars every morning until 9am. The food is awesome! The breakfast sandwich and French Beignets (4 piece) Chia Tea and Carmel Macchiato. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is very quite and relaxing. Great vibes!

Was really looking forward to supporting this small business while in town. They start closing down well before their posted hours to include all seating options. 10 minutes prior to closing they only had 2 coffee options available, nothing else. For a 16oz iced coffee at $7 you’d think it would be at least a decent coffee. The suggested tip amount was $5. Would not recommend or come back anytime soon.

When we need our Stellar fix, it's a weekend excursion to Lake Charles. The sole purpose being breakfast @ Stellar's! 4 hour drive and a hotel stay to enjoy a yummy breakfast is not too much, it's about the four and the adventures around the way. So what makes you happy and Stellar Beans is a happy place for us.

Stopped by this place on the way back to Florida. It was a little out of the way from I10 but totally worth it! Fresh bread on the muffuletta and yummy cookies. Everyone was friendly and the front was decorated so cute with flowers.

The pictures do no justice. I am so picky with my cakes ... my cake was beautiful but also tasted so good! It did not last. I had order an espresso at the bottom and at the top vanilla.. it was soooooo good. The guests loved it. It was everything I had ask for.

I Went here for lunch on a week day. And I also hosted a private party here. Both experiences were outstanding. First lunch: the clearly Make their own bread it’s delicious. I had muffuletta and fries and a chocolate cookie all delicious. For my book club we wanted to host a private party. The party planner was more willing to to host our group of 17 women. We decorated cakes played bingo and had the best time. Update I’ve now ordered two large special occasion cakes. They have been the star of my parties I updated my review to add I’m ordering my next cake tomorrow. They also have Christmas treat platters.

I never been to the place before and always seen it passing by but I like a good canolli so I went in on 2.14.22 and got 4 canollis. 2 cookies and cream and 2 regular and they were delicious!😋😋 I'd go again to try their other menu items too. I initially thought the only difference between the flavors was one w/ chips and one w/o. Nope, the cookies one is more flavorful, a bit sweeter but not overly; the original has a subtle sweet. Mr. Leroy Priona Sr. was at the register ringing us up which was pretty cool to meet the man who started the business! I'll return for sure🥳

I got a sandwich to go from here and it seemed like it had been microwaved; not very fresh. The tres leches cake was very nice though.

My boyfriend’s mom loves Tres Leches. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I googled and Prionia’s came up. I called to confirm the lady who answered was so nice and said they have multiple available in personal size. I went by and every one was so nice! I got 2! Perfect size for the 4 of us. His mom loved it, they even gave me a happy birthday pin for the cake and she was so excited when she opened it. Definitely coming back when she requests Tres Leches again!!

Adorable bakery and lunch spot. I had chicken salad sandwich (has apples and nuts) and a cup of broccoli and cheese soup(very cheesy needed salt and pepper). Both were good but not great. Sandwich had too much bread not enough filling. Half and sandwich and cups of soup for almost 15$. The real draw to come here is the king cake. Several of my friends mentioned it was the best in town. After having a slice of someone else I had to get one. It is a bready cinnamon roll style king cake. And I really enjoyed the blueberry cream cheese. One king cake would serve 10/12 and cost about 35$. The restaurant is very cute and full of locals.

It pains me to not be able to give this place 5 stars. If it was solely about the food quality, I would but unfortunately it is not. I order from this place very frequently and I just love the food BUT most of the time, I do not receive the food I ordered or it is made incorrectly. I have tried many sandwiches based on the fact that they send me the wrong one so I am trying a new sandwich apart from the one I actually ordered. While they have all been delicious, it would be great to get ONE order sent to me the exact way I ordered it. I don’t always have the convenience of driving to the restaurant on my own to pick up so I rely heavily on online ordering, like most hard working moms do! Just a side note, today I tried the little Italy breakfast sandwich and it was awesome, my tea was missing the almond milk, and lastly I got the roasted carrot tahini grain bowl, which is always amazing. UPDATE: I had to take away a star…. This morning I ordered a vegetarian breakfast sandwich But I received a sandwich with bacon… I had such high hopes my order would be right this morning… 😭 I was looking forward to the avocado spread with the provolone and egg…. 😩

I originally reviewed 6 years ago & I continue to enjoy all I order from Great Harvest. Typically, I go for breakfast sandwich- egg, bacon, Havarti cheese, Avocado & herb spread. It is consistently delish. Also, their cherry almond shortbread cookies are scrumptious. You can taste the almond, combined with slight tartness of cherries. These cookies are not too sweet - a true shortbread. However, they are expensive. Everything I have had from Great Harvest Bread is delicious - from savory to sweet, ordered sandwiches to take-home bread, muffins, etc. Very friendly, helpful staff.

i am a door dasher . Empty store before 11:00 and waited 20 min to get my customers order. Had to ask about the order to get any sort of acknowledgment Other than that I LOVE GREAT HARVEST! Food is amazing and omg the bakery section !!! Thank you for my rant as a dasher but as a customer it is delicious

An amazing bakery to visit. The salads are my favorite! The breakfast sandwich is wonderful as well. I ordered a loaf of cinnamon chip bread to make French toast and it turned out amazing. Something to always look forward to when I go. Be sure to check them out during Mardi Gras. They allowed me to sample different cakes to decide which would fit my taste. I ordered the blueberry flavor. It was a hit!

Delicious bakery serving all sorts of pastries and breads, with great lunch options and locally roasted coffees. I 100% recommend getting the cinnamon raisin bread pudding, it’s easily 100/10, couldn’t stop eating it lol. Grain bowl was good too.

Absolutely delicious BUT zero accountability! Not the first time, I have had an issue with end result product, always paying full price, but continuously, receiving less than expected aka specialized, not as ordered. The zero accountability and nonchalant attitude is even more frustrating than not getting a finished product repeatedly.

Ordered a bundt cake for a birthday party on July 29th and July 30th I called at 11:52 to swap from chocolate chip to cookies and cream. I was assured by Isabel this would be handled since my cake was due August 1st with a pickup time of noon (12:00). I received my cake and it was still chocolate chip. I love bundt cake products but I am upset with the lack of customer service for this experience of close to $50.

I wish I would have got a better picture of this cake because it was beautiful! Bottom layer was cookies & cream & top layer was red velvet. Everyone at my daughter’s graduation celebrating was raving about how delicious it was & was asking where it came from! It was a hit!

The cakes taste great. However, when placing an order on Grubhub, there is no option for additional frosting. It is unfortunate because Nothing Bundt Cakes offers that option when ordering directly from them. I called the store to see if I could pay over the phone for this additional option, but unfortunately, that was not possible.

You can’t help but smile with the colors & simple but bright decor. I will always support local & Twanie & his team deserve all their flowers 💐 Food/Drinks: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - flavors of cookies & cheesecake are constantly changing with seasons & trends. We bought a box to bring to our sweet vet staff & they were very excited. Cookies & cream, strawberry cheesecake, & chocolate chip cookies. No notes! 🔥 we also were able to try the brand new Kingdom Cup Coffee which is located inside the same location. I got “the altar” iced coffee & it tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk 🤤 delicious Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - first off, when this location first opened, I visited & the patio area was loose rocks & the doorway itself had a large step up. Since my first visit, both of those have had changes. There is an additional ramp added at the front door so wheelchairs/walkers/strollers can easily traverse the door. The patio has also been fully paved. Low top tables with removable chairs. Open, smooth & even floor space. There is no public restroom which is the only reason I can’t give 5 stars.

Really great treats!! Flavors rotate each week, so be on the lookout for your favorites. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, bread pudding and occasionally other treats twanie will come up with.

Their Chantilly cheesecake is the best I have ever eaten. The little coffee shop roasts their own beans and has some great flavors. I enjoyed a frappe. The restaurant was clean and inviting.

If you love bakery good, there's no doubt that you'll love Twanie's. I tried the cookies and cinnamon rolls and was floored by the quality and taste. Worth a try ot two or twenty! I was just visiting, Twanie's really made me think about visiting again.

So glad we stopped here. Saw it on tik tok and stopped by while we were killing time for our hotel checkin. We got the s’mores cookie and the brookie. Was fantastic and wish we lived closer so we could have it again. The card with directions on how to warm it was a nice touch. (The gps did have us stop at a house on the side block, but we saw the sign when we turned the street)

Finally got to try this place, and it was AMAZING. So delicious. I also really love and appreciate the wonderful prayer card that came with my treat.

Went to Twanie’s today to get a slice of plain cheesecake for my fiancé and saw the other flavors of Red Velvet and Chantilly (two of my faves lol). Twanie himself was there and asked what my favorite is, I told him I’m a red velvet girly through and through. Y’all, he gave me an extra slice of the red velvet for free! He was so kind and helpful, I was genuinely so grateful. My coworkers and I split the chantilly and red velvet tonight and 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 SO GOOD! Their treats never ever disappoint. I’m from out of town and stopped in on a whim for a cake for my daughter’s 16th birthday. I am so glad we did. The cake was insanely delicious, soft and fluffy and not to mention beautifully decorated. I loved the frosting. My daughter LOVED it when we surprised her with it. This is a great bakery.

I've been to Cypi's before, to purchase cupcakes or their fabulous petit fours, but never had I bought a cake before. That all changed this past Thursday, the 15th. It was my birthday and I wanted to treat myself in a big way. In the case were three cakes but I only saw one. It was love at first sight. Chocoholic me even bypassed the huge chocolate monster overpowering its minions. Nope. I wanted the white one with pink and white roses. Was this me talking? Next thing I knew I was strapping that cake into a seatbelt, cushioned on all sides to further protect it. From the very first bite until the last this cake was perfection! Moist and spongy, with that mysterious wedding cake flavor (What is that, anyway?) the insides were even better than the buttercream! I never thought I’d say that! Cypi's, you outdid yourself! Thanks for making my birthday extra special!

Living in New Orleans kind of made me become a king cake snob...seriously, don't come at me anymore with grocery store king cake. 🤢 But where, oh, where to find a king cake in Lake Charles that even comes close to the deliciousness of a Randazzo's??? There was really only one possibility, so off to Cypi's Cake Box I went. The verdict? I'm sorry, New Orleans, but speaking as someone who has tasted king cake from several of your bakeries, and having tasted hers today, I have to say it...she does it better. 🤷‍♀️ ⚜️💚💛💜

Beautiful cake that was equally delicious! Great service- last minute request and delivered right on time. They will definitely be doing all of our cakes in the future. My grandson was very excited to see it.

The bald guy (Shannon) at the sausage counter in the back will wait on people he knows ahead of people he does not know. He skipped me 2 times in a row. First me and another man walked up close to the same time. I was ahead but he took his order first. Then a woman walked up and he took her order. When I asked him if there was any body else he wanted to let cut in line ahead of me, he told me those two was together, which I knew was a lie. As I was checking out I seen the lady check out and leave alone. While the man was still shopping. Bottom line he will take care of kinfolk and friends before a loyal customer that goes to this store 3 to 4 times a week.This was at the Westlake La location.

I have eaten there for some years and the fresh cooked food was great. Lately there has been some change in personal and the food is not as good as it used to be. Also the boudin is not the same any more. They added some ingredient that makes it taste like vinegar of something similar. I tried it for the last few months and had to give it up. I do hate that they did that.

First time here from Houston. At this location I felt welcomed and one of the mangers putting stock in the fridges was kind and helpful. I didn’t get his name. Went in looking for the boudin which was really good they had lots of varieties. Shannon working that Wednesday at the smoked market. Was very kind and helpful as well he gave me that southern hospitality. Thank you to them. Cashiers were nice as well. Some prices were reasonable, others a tad bit high but understandable. I will be coming back.

I go here all the time. Most of the workers are friendly and helpful. That doesn’t mean you won’t catch a group of employees huddled up putting one box of green beans up together. Or walk up to the register in the middle of the cashier texting someone back. Smoked meats are the best. It’s always clean. Great for if you don’t want to run to a bigger store where the savings are greater.

I love Rouses. I needed to pick up some fish. They were closing but still helped. Fresh! Plus, they have tons of amazing items.

I’m from Texas. My son lives in Lake Charles. I stopped in at this grocery store to buy a meal to cook at my son’s house. I was so impressed at the friendliness of the workers as well as the customers. Moving forward, this is my go to store in Lake Charles!

Would much rather go to the nearby Kroger or Albertsons. The store setup is confusing, you think you went through all the food and then there’s the non-food sections, but then tucked into the corner is like 4 more aisles of food that you can easily miss. It doesn’t seem like the bakery makes fresh breads from our experiences. We just got some blueberries and they are the most flavorless fruit I’ve ever had. It’s so cluttered that it’s hard to find anything. Stock of fresh fruits and vegetables is always disappointing as well.

We just moved back to Louisiana from Texas and happened to buy a house close to Rouses. I'm in there everyday and absolutely love it! Everyone in there is like family and always ready to help.

Absolutely the best selection of cheeses and meats ( including fresh seafood) Personally I like the make your own peanut butter machine. Honey roasted peanut butter is my favorite of the 3 choices. The chocolate one isn't milk chocolate so if you were thinking of reeces cups try the reeces brand. I also enjoy that they have a wonderful selection of side dishes and occasional even pre made cornbread. If they don't have the meat your looking for, ask. I needed more ox tails and the cut me the exact amount I needed.

Not much to say on the atmosphere it is a small bakery. The woman taking our order was very nice. I got two king cake ‘slices’ from here. Cream cheese && cookies & cream. The bread tasted stale and old. The cream cheese tasted extremely sour & off. For the cookies & cream the Oreos chips on top were soggy and you can tell are old and same thing the bread was stale. These clearly needed to be thrown away. They were not fresh but this business still wants to make a profit. I don’t recommend. #kingcame

Had such an amazing experience coming to Delicious Donuts & Bakery. Such great customer service with amazing beignets and donuts. Came from all the way from Houston to the casinos and decided to get a beignets and this spot came up with great reviews! Stoped by and everything was delicious and totally recommend for anyone who wants a delicious treat ❤️

i was visiting from out of town and couldn’t find anything open, but stumbled across this little mom and pop donut shop so glad i did. the owner was there, super friendly, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. the donuts were soft, warm, and full of flavor. definitely a hidden gem in louisiana. The boudin kolache was 10/10!

Had an amazing experience at Delicious Donuts and Bakery. We came from Texas on vacation and all we wanted was a King cake to take home and this place delivered in all aspects. Customer service was AH-MAZING and they came in clutch with their delicious options. They have so many flavors to choose from and Paula even offered to give us a naked king cake to take home and freeze to save for Fat Tuesday. 10/10 definitely recommend!

We always enjoy delicious donuts. At one time I lived nearby and have them often. Moved out of state so it's been a long time. Not much different at all. Bought various products and shared at a party. The favorite was the maple and nut glazed cinnamon roll. I will say the chocolate filled donut was not at all what it used to be. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely try to return. What can I say... It's delicious donuts 😀

I have eaten a lot of donuts in my life. This place is the best by far. Don’t let the outside fool you. What is made comes from love for what we are hungry for. For over 30 years Paula and family have made something that will keep you coming back for more even if you have to order and have it FedEx shipped to your doorstep. They have survived everything that man and nature has thrown at them and come out on top. The customer service is one of a kind. You are greeted with a smile and taken care of as though you are sitting at the dining room table. If you are passing through or are a resident come to Delicious Donuts and get a dozen of fresh hot glazed donuts to warm your tummy and your day! 10 February 2022 I had a hankering for a great king cake and only know of one place that makes the best. I called Paula and placed my ordered for this seven pound beauty. Arriving on time it was packed with care and man o’ man this is what I call excellent. Even arriving in its own box being very festive I knew that I was getting something that was awesome. The whole office says thank you Paula, Lucas and Paul. I look forward to ordering another one in the near future!!

These people are always so horrible to my grandmother it makes me sick. Horrible service horrible food. She’s been going for years and is the sweetest lady ever I can’t believe these people really.

There is nothing like warm, melt in your mouth, glazed donuts. It's been over a year since I've visited the legendary Nelson's Donuts. I stopped by at 5:00 a.m. today. I ordered a dozen glazed, expecting hot donuts or at least warm donuts because I was there bright and early at 5:00 a.m. The donuts were room temp. It's almost like I got left over from the day before donuts. I was really disappointed. I've been to many other donut shops early in the morning and it's a for sure thing that you'll get warm donuts at 5:00 a.m. I'll give this place one or two more trys to see what happens because they used to be awesome, and then I will update this post.

Stopped by for a dozen donuts for my crew. I said I wanted assorted and they gave me 5 cake donuts. There was a few jelly filled but 5 cake donuts felt like too much. It takes a very particular taste to perfer cake donuts and we ended up throwing 3 of those away.

I visited once for a half dozen glazed/chocolate. The glazed were warm, soft, melt in your mouth. Service was as expected when younger individuals work. Only complaint is the donuts come in paper bags like most American owned shops. I personally don't like them to be mashed together. Not good for sharing, it's cheaper I get but no thanks

Insane hole in the wall place to find the BEST boudin kolaches in your life. I only trust Lake Charles people to make my boudin anyways but I specifically drive all the way from Houston when I visit friends and always make sure to stop by here. Have to hurry before 11am that’s when they run out of god’s little gift to kolaches.

There glazed donuts are the absolute best! My only complaint is the stuffed donuts don’t have enough filling. Delicious donuts on country club over stuff there filled donuts and are amazing. If Nelson’s would add more filling, their would be no reason to go anywhere else.

They didn't any croissant sandwiches nor biscuit sandwiches but the donuts were delicious. I would come back.

Have randomly visited this place throughout the past decade plus. Always friendly and help service, always fresh and tasty food.

First time here today, and this place might sell the best pecan praline I've ever had. So buttery and sweet and the pecans were nice, whole, and huge! The lady working is the sweetest and most patient person ever. Delicious tea cakes as well! Not too sweet, good texture.

When I was pregnant I swear I ate one of her tea cakes every single day! They are delicious! My daughter loves them even more now :) I have never experienced any issues with this business and I have been going there for a long time. The chocolate chip cookies are divine!

I love this place. Everything they make is amazing and fresh. The cookies are so good that I drive about 2 hours or more to come get them. This place has been a favorite of mine for years now. The staff are always helpful and so nice. I will continue to come back over and over every chance I get. Definitely have to come get more chocolate chip cookies soon.

Wandered in here off the street after being lured in by their Sweets & Treats sign. They were almost closed, so the younger owner just gave me a box of the best tea cookies I've ever had. Saying, "I'd rather make a friend than a buck!" Best hospitality, best tea cookies!

Their chocolate chip cookies have more chocolate chips than any other cookie I've ever tasted. The tea cakes are out of this world. The blueberry muffins, enough said....more blueberries in 1 muffin than any you'll ever have. Also, everything is so large and made fresh daily.

My daughter and I stopped in this bakery because all the other bakeries had closed for the day. Lucky for us!! We slipped in 20 minutes before they closed and experienced the friendliest service I’ve had for a very long time. This is not your Starbucks-preppy-sit-around-sipping-coffee type place. It’s a no frills and gimmicks, real bakery with tea cakes that will please the most finicky tastebuds (the best I’ve ever tasted!) We also picked up a small variety of chocolate confections that were unique and delicious. Looking forward to trying many more of their menu items like their hedgehog cookies, key lime fudge, and hummingbird cake.

Enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter candy and the peppermint chocolate candy very much............I thought tea cakes were more like scones. they were tasty, but prefer my scones or tea cakes softer and not so crunchy a texture. The staff was very pleasant and will go back again.,

I've passed this place a few times and decided to try it out. I was disappointed walking in and seeing the inside and lack of baked goods. Decided to try it still. I ordered 2 fruity drinks that I could have made at home. The blandest brisket sandwich with a little meat and a ton of coleslaw on it and 8 pieces of soggy lettuce as a side salad drenched with dressing and a huge, dry, cold cinnamon bun. I've had better baked goods at Walmart.

Food is always so good! I love their breakfast and I’ve been working my way through the lunch menu, the ladies working the counter always give wonderful suggestions! Only minor issue in my opinion, the prices are kind of high. A turkey & bacon sandwich with tots was $15. I know it’s a family business and the bread is freshly made, so I do understand the quality adds value, but still a bit pricey in my opinion. Sandwich was phenomenal though!

Had the breakfast sandwich this morning and it was absolutely delicious. The croissant was perfect! I also bought a blueberry muffin because it was calling my name. It was the best muffin I've ever had. I should have bought 5. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Helen St. bakehouse is such an under appreciated staple in Lake Charles, most people don’t know that they provide bread and pastries to a lot of the local restaurants and coffee shops in the area!! But you can just come straight here, skip the craziness, and support them directly! If you do, please please try this brisket sandwich (absolutely amazing), some of their freshly baked bread, and super soft chocolate chip cookies! We love this place and will be back soon!

The spinach feta croissant was amazing! Probably the most soft/moist croissant wrap I have ever had. I also picked up two beautiful loafs of bread! Delicious!

Long-time wholesale bakery that’s just opened up a new storefront, Helen St. Bakehouse has a really chill atmosphere with some tasty treats. Come early, though, because breakfast items were getting snatched up left and right. I’m really hoping that the cafe takes off so that there will be even more options.

If you want fresh pastries, it's better to be there early. Hot sandwiches are great, and the puffed pastry was fine, but cold and stiff.

I got the Clcupcakes and the small single cakes. JPH has the best recipe for their food anywhere else and it has not changed in decades! Every chance I get when passing anywhere near JPH , I always stop. We live out of state now, so it's a big deal when we get close and can make a stop!!

First time I stopped in was their busiest time of year- Valentine’s Day. They were not a disappointment. I got 4 chocolate with chocolate icing cupcakes and a small white cake. They both had excellent flavor. The cakes were fluffy and moist and most importantly the frosting was not sickening sweet frosting. Chocolate was his favorite but said both were very good. You will definitely have a repeat customer.

I would put 0 stars if I could. Absolutely disgusting. I found a long fingernail baked into my cupcake — completely unacceptable and unhygienic. I will never be returning. On top of that, the customer service was just as bad. When I asked about ordering a small round cake for my grandmother’s birthday, the woman at the front counter (I believe her name was Cassie) was incredibly rude and dismissive. She told me they don’t take orders and I’d just have to come in and pick one — even though the website clearly says orders are accepted. When I pointed that out, she gave me major attitude and continued to argue with me. That’s not how you treat customers. Between the unsanitary food and poor service, this place is a complete disappointment. Management seriously needs to retrain staff and reevaluate quality control.

Some of the best cakes you can get. Cannot go wrong with original vanilla, they do have other great flavors as well. Small treats like lemon squares, brownies, cookie doozies, icing shots, and tarts available too. Been a fan for a long time!!

Nothing like a Jo's cake or cupcake to bring a little joy to your day. I've had their cakes and cupcakes since childhood and their classic white on white will always be my favorite. Their white icing has never changed and hopefully never will. Fingers crossed they expand to Lafayette soon!!

Jo's Party House has the best cakes in town.They really got me out of a jam with doing a cake for my Dad's 80th Birthday Party the next day. Thank goodness it was a week day.. The other place I will not name, made the worst cake I'd ever seen in my life. My sister was in tears, But Jo's came to the rescue With this beautiful cake. Needless to say the other one (picture #2) from nameless place went back and was refunded. The party was great and Everyone loved the cake. So go to Jo's you won't be disappointed....

Workers greeted me upon entry, and were patient/ nice. The cupcakes are good, but the Double Doozie cookies are better

I ordered a two tier 10 inch chocolate cake with whipped blue and purple icing that said happy 18th birthday. When I got there it was a single layer cake with chocolate sweet icing purple polka dots and the word birthday literally ran off the side... At least their customer service was nice.

My sister wanted to go here for a birthday cupcake, as they had made her wedding cake 24 years ago. Still in the same shop. She enjoyed her cupcake. I got a white cupcake with strawberry filling. I wa s expecting something like strawberry cream or icing. It was strawberry jam. Just not pleasant to me. But the cake and icing were good.

These people are wonderful. I feel as if we are really family. I call on them to do 2 sheet cake for my daddy repass and they did not think twice about. Thank yall so much from me and my family. I love yall so much.

The cake is delicious. I am in love with the blackberry cheesecake. Just remembering the smell of the inside is making my mouth water.

I called from out of state to to see if they would deliver to a local hotel and they exceeded my expectations. They were extremely helpful not only helping me pick out what I needed but making sure it was delivered with care!!

Very friendly and patient. A nice selection to chose from. Definitely coming back.
