Wedding bakery
Magic Muffins is a bakery located in Cahaba Heights that offers a variety of delicious treats, including special-occasion cakes, sweets, savory soups, and casseroles. They are known for their wide range of muffin options such as fat-free, low-fat, mini muffins, and specialty flavors like flaxseed health nuts with pecan topping.
Magic Muffins hands down has the best wedding cakes! A coworker told me we should go take a look and we were amazed at how fresh and delicious everything was! Magic Muffins had so many photos to look at and great suggestions, so it was extremely easy to come up with the final concept for our wedding cake and groom’s cake!
Andy Y — Google review
It smelled really nice inside, and I love the look of the place. It was so quaint and cute. They had tons of options to choose from, the staff was very polite and while they were busy they were very quick with getting people in and out. Definitely try the savory biscuits.

We used magic muffins for our wedding- Bride and Grooms cake, and absolutely loved them!!! Very affordable in the wedding cake business and soooo yummy!!! We did a few cake tastings in the area and this one was most affordable and best tasting!!! I got traditional white, and then my husband is a big lord of the rings fan and they were open to making this hobbit hole cake based off a Pinterest inspo pic and they did awesome we loved it!!! They delivered them both as well!
Amanda C — Google review
Magic Muffins created my bridal cake and groom’s desserts for my wedding and both were phenomenal. The cheesecake bites with golf ball truffles were perfect for my golf pro husband. Our almond flavored cake was beautiful, delicious, and moist. We received many compliments on both. The staff were easy to work with and the pricing was very reasonable. I’ll definitely use Magic Muffins for celebrations for many years to come!

Magic Muffins baked our bride and groom’s cakes for our wedding. They were awesome to work with from start to finish. Both cakes were beautiful, but the groom’s bourbon barrel cake took the prize. It was so realistic, some guests thought it was a decoration until we cut it. Both cakes were super tasty and we can’t wait to order our special cakes from Magic Muffins for many years to come!
Kelly H — Google review
Wow! What a tasty cake! This was a custom cake we had done by Magic Muffins. We ordered the Italian Cream cake. The cake was dense, rich and moist after cutting into it the next day. We really appreciate the customer service that came with the cake as well! Reasonably priced for the quality you receive!

Placed an order for cupcakes and a cake for a bridal shower, almond cake with almond butter cream. It was so beautiful and tasted amazing, and everyone loved it!

Excellent for a morning Muffin on the way to work. The owner always has a smile on his face. Come early if you want to be assured of getting a bran Muffin; they go fast.

Pastry shop
Continental Bakery, a charming European-style bakery founded in Pelham over 15 years ago and later established in Birmingham in 1998, offers a tranquil atmosphere with quaint decor. The bakery is known for its traditional breads, pastries, and light fare that are prepared daily from scratch by artisan bakers. With a variety of flavors such as tres leches, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, peach, mango, and kiwi available in their baked goods selection including cupcakes and cookies.
I love this place so so much. It has the coolest atmosphere. It has a European type vibe and it's extremely cozy. They have coffee and the BEST baked goods. We got coffee, a lemon bar, and a strawberry cheesecake croissant. It was very good. I will say, my pastry wasn't warmed, but I didn't ask and it was still very good.
Sierra S — Google review
Stumbled upon Continental Bakery after leaving the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Located in a very cool little shopping district that is very dog friendly. Had to wait for 20 minutes as people were shuffling in and out to get their drinks and croissants. I would have left but I was told this place was very good so I waited. Inside is a small and eclectic area to look at the goodies, give your order, and pay. My croissant was very good and did remind me of the ones I had in Paris with many variants available. My shortbread cookie was cutely decorated but overpriced for what I got (just give me the shortbread with a smattering of icing for taste). Worth the stop in if you are in the area.
The S — Google review
Oh wow, what a spectacular Bakery in the gorgeous Old English District. Sit on the sidewalk or take a gorgeous walk with your bakery treat and coffee/tea. Shortbread cookies, artist breads, cakes, pies, and a wide assortment of freshly baked treats. You can get a sandwich as well and also get refrigerated artisan soups to go. This is such a wonderful bakery!
Bill H — Google review
I was really excited to try this bakery. Unfortunately, the pot de creme was made with coffee, and I didn't think to ask so I wasn't able to eat it. The palette was delicious! The sandwich was pretty basic and I didn't realize it wouldn't come with sauces. The sandwich bread was good though. I bought some other things too. The pies look fantastic! I would probably come here again, but only for specific items. The pricing was pretty fair. The person who served me seemed fairly impatient. Never having been there before, I wasn't sure how to order everything. The shop isn't very newcomer friendly All you could see was what they had on display even though they had drinks and sandwiches They had three parts of a menu that was in very small font and if you didn't know they had something you didn't know we were there 20 minutes and just happened to overhear they had sandwiches And had to ask for the sandwich menu because it wasn't on display They have a website but it also wasn't on display so if you don't know you wouldn't know unless you just happened to look but even that it didn't have a list of drinks or the sandwiches and it looked to have been a couple of years out of date because they prices were wrong A third of their baked goods were shortbread cookies You also couldn't see prices for the bread
Howler W — Google review
Did some searching for a bakery that was open to sit down to eat and chat for a short while, only setting was outside at night with a cold chill, if there was a heat lamp next too use this would have made the night. This place sits in a small like English village with a unique bakery, lots of desserts, and homemade breads, salads, sandwiches, like to see this place in the daytime.
Carl M — Google review
We spent an exorbitant amount of money on the pastries and were very disappointed. They all lacked flavor and were dry. At best the flavor was peculiar, at worst there was no flavor. The brownie was particularly disappointing as it lacked cocoa flavor and really didn’t even taste like chocolate.
Tooli C — Google review
Beautiful, quiet place! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is phenomenal. If you're looking for a place like the bakery from Kiki's Delivery Service, this is the closest anyone will ever get :D
Heidi M — Google review
I ha ve been coming here for years but it seems like it is not the same anymore since the new management. I came here today to celebrate my good news about my doctor appointment. I was expecting to sit down and enjoy my coffee in a mug and my dessert on a plate and enjoyed the outside but the lady that served me said that they do not do that anymore. I got a to go coffee and a brown bag to go for my dessert. It is a bad service for an expensive deasert

Bakery
Savage's Bakery is a long-standing bakeshop in Birmingham, serving up custom cakes, cookies, and pastries in a lively setting. With over 80 years of history, it has become a go-to spot for delectable treats. The bakery is renowned for its mouthwatering King Cakes, available with cream cheese or traditional cinnamon filling to celebrate the Carnival Season. Visitors also love their Iced Smiley Face Cookies as a delightful treat while exploring the area.
What a cute bakery Savage’s Bakery is. I’m kinda sad I only got one picture inside but it was on Father’s Day weekend, hence, the ‘Dad’ cookies and such. I ended up trying two cookies when I visited, those being a chocolate chip cookie and a sugar cookie. I loved both cookies! It was definitely worth it and I like to support local businesses!

The reviews are right - the cake decorator here SUCKS. I came in on a Friday to order a gender reveal cake to be picked up the next day. I requested a plain white exterior with the inside filling matching the gender written on the card I provided. I made it clear that the cake was meant for me. The lady who took my order handled it well—she took the card to the back, opened it there so I wouldn’t see the gender, and handed it back to me. However, when I came to pick up the cake the next day, I was absolutely stunned and disappointed. There were green leaf accents on the cake, but most shocking of all—there was PINK frosting on top of the cake!!!!! The entire purpose of a gender reveal cake is the surprise, and it was completely ruined before I even left the bakery. How could such an obvious mistake happen? What makes this even more frustrating is that the front staff KNEW this cake was meant to be a surprise. They asked if it was my first baby and even encouraged me to guess what I thought the gender might be. Yet somehow, the decorator completely ignored the instructions and put the gender color on full display for everyone to see. I didn’t say anything to the staff because I know the decorator made the mistake, but I was deeply disappointed. I cried in my car. I had to take the cake home and carefully scrape off all the pink frosting before cutting it with my fiancé and his parents the next day. While the front staff was friendly, they failed to communicate to the decorator that the cake was supposed to remain a surprise. Ruining my first pregnancy surprise was bad enough, but considering the price I paid for this cake, I am extremely disappointed with Savage’s…

Great bakery with some cool gifts! Delicious cookies! Wanted to try every one!! Will definitely go back for one of the King Cakes!!

I recently placed my first order with Savages Bakery, and unfortunately, it will be my last. When I ordered a cake over the phone, they asked for a description and a picture of what I wanted, which I provided. The cake I received looked somewhat different than what was described, but I’m not usually one to make a fuss, so I planned to just take it home. On the way up to my apartment, however, the box they gave me broke, smearing the writing on the cake. I called back right away, and the woman who answered was very understanding — she told me to come back so they could fix it. Since the cake already didn’t fully match my description, I also asked if those issues could be corrected while they were re-icing it. Unfortunately, while she tried to help me, the baker in the background was on speakerphone being extremely rude. He loudly said it was “my damn fault” that the cake was damaged and that he shouldn’t have to fix it. He cursed at me, offered no solutions, and made it clear he didn’t want to help. By the end of the call, I felt so disrespected that I told them to keep both the cake and my money. For reference, this was a $120 cake — extremely overpriced for what it was — and the customer service experience was beyond unprofessional. I hope the next customer who has an issue is treated with more kindness and respect 💛

Unfortunately, this bakery is going downhill. I've heard they were bought out. No cash payment anymore, no more dome cakes/smash cakes for babies, hard to accept a last minute order because it will "overwhelm their cake decorator" and they don't offer as many cake decoration options as they once did. Hopefully they make some changes so that they keep their customers. Called this morning to order a dome cake for a smash cake and they only offered a 7". I'll be ordering from another bakery. I've been a loyal Savage's customer for 30+ years... every birthday cake comes from Savage's. This is the first year I'll be ordering cakes from a different bakery. Please improve, Savage's! Stop changing things that made Savage's successful for all these years.
Brittany H — Google review
Savage's is a gem in Homewood! I love their orange coffee cake, which is really just orange rolls, for any occasion! The best deal is to go in the morning and check out their "day old" stuff. It's still delicious and discounted! Highly recommend checking them out and grabbing some goodies, you won't regret it (unless you're counting calories)!

3-25-2024. Update. Don't know how many cakes we've gotten here over the years but there have been lots! And again, never disappointed. Spring flowers this trip. 10-23-2023. Birthday cake time again. Never disappointed. I promise it taste as good as it looks...lol. Fall flowers.

Birmingham Breadworks, located at 2408 7th Avenue South, is a standout bakery in Birmingham. They specialize in a variety of freshly baked goods, including bread for popular local sandwiches and a daily selection of pastries such as croissants, muffins, sticky buns, apple turnovers, cream cheese and fruit danishes. Their delectable offerings are enjoyed by many locals and are used by several well-loved eateries in the city.
Still the best sourdough in Birmingham!!! Chewy and soft on the inside, a bit of a crunch on the outside without being overbaked. I also love their almond pastries. Flakey and delicious.
Kat Y — Google review
Advertising breakfast until 2pm yet the kitchen is closed at 10:45 on a Saturday to “prepare for lunch”. We couldn’t even get toast. Quite possibly the poorest service I’ve experienced in Birmingham in recent memory. Despite not needing to cook or prepare a thing, it still took over 15 minutes to get the cold danishes. Add to that, the tables were filthy and they didn’t offer a plate of any kind. I can’t find any reason to come back. Congrats on being hip while your core job (serving food) fails miserably. At least it seems like some love was put into the actual prep and they use quality ingredients.
Clint M — Google review
Where do I start?! Honestly I didn’t have high expectations when I arrived here. It seemed more like a neighborhood spot that people frequented not particularly because it was good but because it was spacious, available, and easy to get to. Well I was wrong. While insider is spacious and cozy they are absolutely worth the visit for both locals and outsiders. I arrived early in the morning and the case was fully stocked and the cashier was very friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions, even obvious ones, and never seemed disgruntled or bothered. I ordered two cookies, the bacon egg and cheese sour dough breakfast “focaccia “ , and a coffee. Coffee was just what I needed to start my morning. Fresh, hot, and soothing. Then the pastries. I got the oatmeal raisin cookie and the pumpkin cheesecake. Both were out of this world. Soft, chewy inside, slight crunch to the edge, and full of flavor. Probably 2 of the best cookies I’ve had. The bacon egg and cheese sour dough was warm which was nice, well seasoned, perfect bready chew while being airy. It was an all around winner for me. I actually went back later that day for seconds but only got a cookie as they were low on offerings right before closing. Again this place is well worth a visit. Nothing in the case is the wrong choice and while this isn’t some modern, sleek, 2025 looking bakery they invest the time and effort in to making every single offering tasty and worth your money. I can’t wait to go back to Birmingham if only for this bakery.

THE BEST bread and pastries in town and lunch is incredible. We've all had a ham and cheese croissant...but you really haven't until you've had one of theirs. Absolutely incredibly pizzas, soups and sandwiches. One of the best places in town to eat.
JeannieMo — Google review
I really enjoyed lunch here waiting for my appointment and walked across the street and had an avocado BLT,coffee black and finished with a chocolate cookie! Delicious I enjoyed it and the atmosphere! Service was spot on and friendly! I’ll be back!
Barry C — Google review
BBW used to be one of our favorites. What has happened? The once loved fresh, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside baguette now tastes like it has been sitting for a few days. The almond frangipane was a little better. Their most recent JCDH food score is 91. I hope they can turn this around soon.
Kim B — Google review
Delicious bread, tasty sandwiches and really nice staff. We stopped by here as I was dropping off my husband on the airport, but we had an hour to grab a quick lunch. The food was great, and the bread of course was excellent. The place had a cool and chill atmosphere, I think I'll come back more often in the future, especially if I'm just driving to Birmingham for an airport run!
Xabier G — Google review
I'm giving five stars bcuz the staff was just amazing!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ However, I ordered a piece of red velvet cake that wasn't great at all. Bland cream cheese icing, cake layers taste like chocolate cake. They need serious improvements on their cake recipes. I recommend Martha Stewart cakes or Southern Living recipes. No one's gonna know. I'll just have to start ordering something else. The other reviews seem to love the food dishes.🩷🩷 Edit: I got a response from the management for this review. And I totally get wanting to defend your product. But I've been here enough times to stick with my review on the cakes. On my first ever visit here four years ago, I bought a piece of banana cake with nuts and cream cheese icing and it was a big piece and it was the perfect density but still light and delicious. The second time, I brought someone with me to try it. We couldn't eat it bcuz it was heavy dry and bready. I tried it again a few months later and it was the same thing. They don't sell it anymore for obvious reasons. A red velvet cake's cream cheese icing should have a tang like cream cheese. The cake itself should not taste like chocolate. I know 1 or 2 TBSP of cocoa powder goes in the mix but that day it was too much.

Bakery
Bandit Pâtisserie in Birmingham is the brainchild of chefs Victor King and Kristen Hall, offering a delectable array of sweet and savory pastries alongside a full espresso menu. Their Sourdough Boules, made with Lindley Mills flours, are a popular choice for bread lovers. The bakery's cozy atmosphere and cute decor make it an ideal spot for breakfast or a leisurely coffee break.
A bakery using French technique and Southern ingredients in Downtown Birmingham, AL!🥐🍪🍥 Bandit is the cutest bakery that also wholesales its sweets to coffee shops in the area! Atmosphere: The bakery is small with the pastry counter in front of the door and seating nestled on the other side of the space. Service: We were served immediately and got all of the items that we ordered quickly. Menu items: I got the Ham & Cheese Croissant, Chocolate Chip + Sea Salt Cookie, Blueberry Poptart, and Choux. Everything tasted delicious and unique. The croissant was warmed up and had a flaky outside and soft inside. The cookie had a soft middle with a slightly harder outside and was the perfect mix of salty and sweet. The poptart was unique and had a blueberry jelly filling. And the choux was unique to me as it was my first time having one (basically a fancy cream puff). All of the items had a beautiful presentation. I also love that they rotate their menu items so that new things are provided regularly!

If you want to eat a French pastry without traveling to France, this is THE place to go! Everything was utter perfection, simply fantastique—chef's kiss! We tried the Nutella and strawberry pop tarts, almond croissant, lemon tart and choux. There aren't enough words to adequately describe the euphoric experience of eating these works of art. Go try some for yourself and you will agree!

We stopped by Bandit Patisserie and were immediately impressed by how immaculate the place was. The setting is clean, modern, and inviting..just the kind of atmosphere you want to enjoy a good pastry and coffee. Ann Martin, who was behind the counter, greeted us with a warm smile and made some great suggestions. They were running a buy one pastry, get a drip coffee free special, which we gladly took advantage of. My brother asked if it applied to iced coffee, but it didn’t. No big deal.. we ordered, sat down, and enjoyed some truly incredible pastries. The savory Danish was perfect, and the homemade strawberry pop tart was simply fantastic. What really made the experience memorable, though, was Ann Martin’s kindness. Later on, she came over with an iced coffee, explaining that she’d be tossing it out the next day and remembered my brother asking about it earlier. She offered it to him for free.. a small gesture that spoke volumes about how much they care about their customers and community. She didn’t have to do it, but she did, and it genuinely made our day. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves amazing pastries but also leaves you feeling this welcomed and appreciated. Bandit Patisserie is a gem, and Ann Martin’s thoughtfulness is the perfect example of why this spot deserves every bit of praise it gets. Highly recommend stopping by,you won’t just leave with great pastries, you’ll leave with a smile.

Stopped in to bandit while spending a day in Birmingham checking out the food scene. It was top on my list and I can say it didn’t disappoint. Inside is cute and the perfect amount of space with a few outside seats. The stay was super friendly and kind. We made small talk about my trip and delicious pastries while I ordered and I felt very welcomed. As for the pastries. I picked the pumpkin cheese cake cruffin, triple ginger cookie, snicker doodle cookie, and strawberry poptart. Cruffin was tender and delicious with ample filling. The cookies were the perfect softness with a little chew and a slight crunch on the edge. Absolutely perfect. The strawberry poptart was a little disappointing. It’s thick and puffy so you’re expecting a filled pastry full of chunky strawberries and fruity delights. Instead you bite in and it’s a hallow cave inside about an inch thick of air with a tiny smear of strawberry jam at the bottom. It was so little you almost couldn’t even taste it against the buttery pastry itself. Over all 3 out of 4 being home runs I’d absolutely go back. Plus the hospitality was top notch.

Love this place! It’s like a little trip to Paris. Small but well appointed with big windows, minimalist decor. Awesome wallpaper in bathroom! Decor complete with retro map of Paris. Great coffee/tea and delicious pasteries-flaky, fresh, cute and delish ✅. Staff is friendly and helpful. And free drip Fridays; buy a pastry/get a free drip coffee. As a busy realtor, I live to set up client meetings at places like this to showcase what our lively little city has to offer. This is what makes it fun to live in the ‘ham.

Sunday was my first visit to the Birmingham location. I was a fan of the previous Homewood location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility is nice and just the right size to have a coffee and pastry. I had the London Fog tart. I’d get it 5 stars - beautiful, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of tea 🥹. Highly recommended!

This bakery, Cakeffect, has received high praise for its pleasant ambiance, cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. The staff warmly welcomes customers with genuine enthusiasm upon arrival. The owner is described as incredibly kind and engaging. Despite only intending to purchase one cupcake during a first-time visit, customers found themselves quickly devouring it and returning for more treats. The positive experience led them to leave with a half-dozen cupcakes and even some chicken salad.
The BEST cake I’ve ever had! They most definitely have a forever customer. We received so many compliments of how beautiful the cake was and how delicious it tasted. The customer service was excellent and the staffed helped me with my vision….even though I didn’t have a solid one lol! Thank you so much for being a part of this memorable moment for my family. We greatly appreciate you!

We found out about this place through the local flavor app.We decided to try a few different things. What's not to like?! When you open the door, the smell of happiness greets you. I know the door says warm cookies, but let me explain. They don't microwave them. They come out of the oven and then put into a warmer. Those oatmeal raisin cookies were like soft clouds of sweetness that fell from heaven. Then we tried the tuxedo cheesecake. The level of chocolaty decadence is mouthwatering. The cinnamon rolls are big enough to share, but good luck with that. They have a good variety of flavored popcorn as well. The caramel popcorn was a good balance of sweet and salty. I'll definitely go back soon!

They really care. And that says a lot! The cake they made was a huge addition to my wife's 30th birthday. It looked incredible and tasted amazing and everyone was asking me where it came from. They worked with me over the phone and over email to create exactly what I was hoping for. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better person to make this cake. Thank you!

I really thought the owner would be involved in making and designing my husband's birthday cake but I guess she only gets involved with high-end clientele orders. I will not be giving them any more business. For 120 dollars for a 10inch cake, Publix would have looked good and tasted delicious. The red velvet cake was dry and crumbly and the cream cheese icing tasted like buttercream. Also, the cake design was very plain with bland colors. I was so upset when I left there on yesterday! Also, when I reached out to let the owner know my experience with the cake, I was told that she wasn't available and would get back with me.

Ordering a realistic pancake cake from this shop was a great decision. The communication process about designing the cake was really easy and the cashier explained how to store the cake when I picked it up. Would recommend Cakeffect to anyone looking for a beautiful, quality cake

Love their bread, especially the seasonal pumpkin loaf. Perfect! The granola is great as well. We chose Big Sky for our corporate holiday gift last year and the gift boxes were well received by all staff. Only wish I had discovered and reviewed them sooner.

Ate breakfast there today and it was fabulous. Had the breakfast sandwich on whole wheat bread and conecuh sausage. It was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. Also, got to taste their new peanut butter cookie and it was great also. Service was good & food is excellent. Also, called Smoothrock Cafe and located under dermatology doctor office. It is worth the trip!!

No one was there, I wanted to try their cinnamon roll. It was unclear how they operate since there is nothing to explain it besides a piece of paper that says self checkout. Unfortunately paid for a cinnamon roll and the guy in the cafe showed me how to get a refund. Waste of time.

The bakery offers a variety of freshly baked goods including cookies, cookie cake, brownies, ice cream, and cookiewiches. Known for its late-night deliveries, most locations operate from 10AM to 3AM on weekdays and from noon to 3AM on weekends.
I stopped by the Insomnia Cookies in 5 Points and had a great experience. Christian helped me out and he was awesome—super friendly, quick, and made sure everything was perfect with my order. Definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing some cookies, you won’t be disappointed!

It was our first time to visit. It also was my husband's birthday so it was a birthday treat for him.... Okay, well I enjoyed it too! The staff was super friendly and very helpful making our decision of what to get. This is my new favorite celebratory sweet place. Thank you for the wonderful sweet treat and nice environment!

Ronisha and the crew provide consistently friendly and attentive service, accurately fulfilling each customer's order. They remain courteous, even when faced with a high volume of customers. The cookies are extremely addictive. I visit the downtown location at least twice a week!

First time here. Wanted to try it. The young lady at the counter wasn’t friendly at all. I told her it was my first time there. She said let me know when you ready and that was it. When I told her I was ready and what I wanted to try. She said what you said? She didn’t hear me because she was talking on the phone with earbuds in her ear. I asked her what’s the difference in the brownies she said just chocolate. So I just picked one. At that point I was ready to order anything and just go. I know it’s a cookie shop but I wanted to know more about the menu. I gave it a 3 because she wasn’t welcoming but she wasn’t friendly nor was she customer friendly she was on the phone.

Insomnia Cookies never disappoints! Their cookies are always warm, soft, and fresh—just the right balance of gooey in the middle with a slight crisp on the edges. The variety is impressive, from classic chocolate chip to more unique flavors like s’mores and double chocolate chunk. I especially loved my experience with Christian as he was very welcoming. Will be returning.

Amazing Cookies & Even Better Service! I just had to leave a review for Insomnia Cookies – they are consistently fantastic! Every time I order, I'm blown away by how incredibly fast they are. Pastry Art Bake Shoppe offers a delightful selection of bite-sized treats known as Baby Bites, which are smaller versions of their famous cakes. These two-bite cakes come in 20 different flavors, including popular choices like Turtle and Key Lime. Despite their size, the Baby Bites maintain the moistness and flavor of their larger counterparts and are finished with a delectable icing coating. This allows patrons to indulge in these sweet delights without feeling too guilty about it.
My husband got the cutest Valentine’s treats for me from Pastry Art Bake Shoppe. This was our first time trying them, and all of the cakes were moist and flavorful, but be warned that they are extremely sweet. My favorite was the little caramel cake bite. You can tell they’re homemade, especially the chocolate cake — it had undertones of freshly ground cocoa. It reminded me a lot of when my grandmother made scratch cakes when I was younger. The icing on most were poured and I love that style, it’s like getting a tiny layer of fudge on top of each cake bite.
Samantha C — Google review
What an excellent idea, baby bites. The perfect size for when you are craving something sweet. They have so many flavors to choose from, it's impossible to walk away with just one. I ordered four bites: strawberry, Italian cream, red velvet, and caramel. I enjoyed each flavor, the cake was very moist and each icing was delicious. You have free parking in front of the shop and the service was very friendly. In addition to cakes, you can purchase daily prepared meals, beverages, and greeting cards.
K R — Google review
I really enjoy the pastries but the customer service is consistently terrible. This is one of those scenarios where I would rather order ahead (if it was an option) and not have to deal with anyone because the people behind the counter clearly don’t want to be there and they clearly don’t want me there either.

My daughter went there yesterday August 5th 2025 at noon to pick up some cakes for my birthday. She said the two girls working in there were so rude and unhelpful. That is no way to run a business.

These cake bites are very tasty…in moderation of course! My favorite is the chocolate with yellow batter. My family likes the marble and vanilla the best. Delicious!

I was frustrated 2 months before my wedding, I could not find someone who can prepare my kosher cake. Justin from Marta's bakery was willing to do her first kosher cake, she came to our kitchen and learnt everything about it. She was beyond of her job, she brought the ingredients a day before and she helped us to decorate the cake and find special ingredients we requested in order to keep it kosher. Everybody loved it. She also figured out to find the birds I could not have the time to find it and did everything for a good price, punctuality and quality. Thanks Justin.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful treat in Birmingham, look no further than Cinnaholic. This charming bakery is renowned for its custom gourmet cinnamon rolls, which you can personalize with an impressive selection of 40 toppings and frostings. Beyond their signature rolls, Cinnaholic also offers delectable brownies, cookies, and homemade cookie dough—all crafted from high-quality ingredients that are completely vegan and free from eggs, cholesterol, dairy, and lactose.
My fiance and I have been coming here for over a year and have always had a great experience! The cinnamon rolls are monstrous, decadent, and the perfect treat for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon! My fiance is vegan and I am not, so it is amazing (and not often) to find a place where we can both find something that we like. My personal favorite is the Vulcan - think like a delicious buttery crumb topping with caramel, chocolate chips, and frosting.
Lizzie H — Google review
Amazing! We were on a road trip and drove out of our way to stop here. They don’t advertise that all their ingredients are vegan but they are… a little secret that makes their cinnamon buns a million times more amazing (without common allergens of eggs and dairy, plus cruelty free)! They have several flavor combos to choose from or you can build your own by topping the bun with your choice of frosting and toppings (and they have tons of options to choose from - it really blew me away!). They also have edible cookie you can buy in a container or load a scoop of it up with toppings. The cookie dough is to die for. Pricing of everything is very affordable. They currently have pumpkin spice seasonal rolls (amazing) and limited time pizza rolls which were a perfect “dinner” before digging into a loaded dessert roll. They even have mini rolls and cakes and do catering. Literally an option for everyone. I love this place and would be there all the time if I was local. Staff is accommodating and really kind! Customer service is fantastic. Highly recommend!
Samm E — Google review
I normally like to take a photo of my food before I post a review. I made a mistake this time by tasting just a tiny bit of the icing. That mistake coupled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls caused me to devour the scrumptious treat before I could snap a pic. You might think that this would be a morning stop for breakfast and coffee but that is not the case. They do not even open until 10am. This is more of a desert stop or a skip lunch so you can get a treat stop. They have cookie dough that is scooped like ice cream and then cinnamon rolls that you can add toppings to. The coffee is good and comes from Babba Java which I have reviewed before. The icing tastes like it is home made with all natural ingredients, it is not your typical icing. You need to try this place soon, before the lines get too long. I saw a box of minis and thought that might be a good alternative to birthday cupcakes. Sorry about my pitiful photos, the rolls were to good to wait. I will try again next time.
Givon G — Google review
I was so excited to see a place selling cinnamon rolls so I stopped and bought 2 originals . The first thing I noticed is how light the rolls were ( under cooked maybe) , kinda like a canned biscuit. Still tried it anyway. At first bite there was an overwhelming taste of butter flavor in the cream icing … yuk ! Like eating a stick of butter ! No cinnamon flavor what so ever , definitely nothing close to home made . This is a pop up shop selling generic can cinnamon rolls. Nothing special, not worth the cost , the calories or the gas . The young girl was not rude but definitely lacked personality. Not sure how they have lasted this long .
WillHardy2020 H — Google review
The icing was a little too buttery. The size of the cinnamon roll wasn’t worth the cost in my opinion. Not much cinnamon flavor, but maybe I’m just used to Cinnabon.
Jan T — Google review
WHERE’S THE GOO?!?! I want to love these cinnamon rolls so much!! Cinnamon Rolls are one of my absolute favorite things!!! I’ve tried Cinnaholic several times now and always am left with the same “ehhh” experience. Simply put.. there’s not nearly enough goo!! These rolls need so much more cinnamony goodness on the inside. The rolls are so dry and are in desperate need of flavor. There’s zero oozing of that deep brown sticky cinnamon goo that I’ve come to expect when eating a cinnamon roll. None of the rolls from Cinnaholic come close to having that oozy goodness. I took a pic from the one I got today and the center, that is usually the best ooey gooey part, had NOTHING inside. It was just the roll with zero signs of cinnamon. Super disappointing.
Hope R — Google review
The guy at the counter was friendly, fun and tried to make me spend more. The cinnamon roll wasn't the taste or texture I was looking for. Something on it was very greasy. It just didn't have that flake that I needed or softness that I needed
Litha P — Google review
Edit: August 3, 2022. It has been a year since I have been but I wanted to try again and update my picture. Still as good and I still recommend. Finally ate here last night, and I was impressed! The buns were a little smaller than anticipated but it was good! I had the Campfire s’mores! So sweet and tasty! Everything is vegan so I didn’t know what to expect. It’s really good and I highly recommend. My picture is after I took it home but it originally looked good and fresh. Tiktok: @chasaeats Insta: @chasafulkerson

What is a hot cup of tea without a good scone? I've searched everywhere and found Highland Gourmet Scones. Oh my goodness! They arrived individually packaged inside a reusable tin. When the scones hit my taste buds, it was an instant party in my mouth! They were soft, fresh, and the orange cranberry flavor made me do cartwheels. (Okay, maybe in my mind.) I immediately ordered another tin for my upcoming Easter tea. Great job Highland for a scone that tastes even better heated up with smear of butter on top. Yum, yum!
Lila J — Google review
Very pleased with every visit to Highland Gourmet Scones. I live out of the state and any time that I am in town I swing by for a scone pick up. I at first tried the mini's to distinguish which ones would be our favorite, but I have to be honest we like them all. So we have upgraded to purchasing the large scones in a variety of flavors. A few have made it to being a fan favorite - Cherry Amaretto, Pumpkin Spice, Toasted Coconut, and Orange Cranberry. The regular size scones are a bit more moist, and have a stronger flavor. We highly recommend them, and have not been disappointed with any of our orders!! The one time I returned home without scones..........we had a few sad faces. It is now what we look forward to when I am in town. Plus they are a great spot for coffee!!

Today was my first time trying Rolls & it was very disappointing. The large cinnamon roll was hard & dry, even though they heated it up before icing it.it also lacked flavor. I had to warm it up in the microwave to make it edible & then could only eat the middle. What a waste of $5!

The staff was so friendly and helpful with helping us with our pastry choices. There are lots of fun knick knacks for purchase. A cold case of lunch and deli items for takeaway. I visited Edgar's Bakery in Pelham this morning and placed a to-go order around 9:08 AM. After waiting 20 minutes, I checked in with the host, who went to the back and said it would be about 5 more minutes. By the 30-minute mark, I noticed another customer—who had ordered after me—receive her food, including some of the same items I had ordered. I asked the host again about my order, and a manager stepped in. After checking with the kitchen, the manager explained that their order screen was broken and told the host she should have kept better track of my ticket. The manager offered cupcakes as a courtesy, which I appreciated, but my intention was mainly to share feedback on how the situation was handled. As an African American customer, I left feeling overlooked and uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, experiences like this can leave a lasting impression and deserve reflection and attention from management.

After a long hiatus, I decided to use my buy-one-get-one-free coupon at Nothing Bundt Cakes. Let me tell you, their cakes never disappoint! 🙌💪👍They always have new flavors to try, and this time, I went for the Oreo Nothing Bundt Cake.❤️ It was absolutely awesome! I love that the cakes come in smaller sizes, so you can control how much you eat (LOL). 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

I was impressed with the atmosphere And the display counter was awesome. The employees were charming. Bought three as it was my first time. Bought Carrot, strawberries and cream, and White chocolate. LOVED THEM ALL ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️❤️!

I called at 9 this morning to place an over the phone order for pick up. The lady who i spoke with told me i don’t need to make an online order because the cakes do not sell out because they are constantly making them . I get to the store and she said she was sold out of the cake i wanted . I’m upset because i wanted to make an order so i could secure my cakes and she told me it was pointless basically because they are constantly baking. I do not appreciate this type of customer service . If you are unsure then say that . Do not promise me something will happen when it will not .

We ordered a birthday cake in Strawberries and cream in a box and bought 4 bundlets in key lime, white chocolate raspberry, chocolate chip gluten free, and classic vanilla. They were all delicious and so fresh. The strawberries and cream is the best to me. We ordered the cake for my mom's birthday and it was awesome. I really think all the cakes are the best. If you get a chance, go get a bundlet. You won't be disappointed! You will be glad you did and will return!

Ordered a red velvet bundt for a July 4th get together. Associates were very friendly, store is always clean, and the bundt cake tasted amazing. Mom wanted some small American flags to put on it and the associates went above and beyond to give us some. Great job!

Love this place! They are the perfect addition to my Real Estate Closing Gifts! I also love the frequent flyer punchcard, because I get to cash in on freebies all the time! #soldbylaurenpreston #Kellerwilliamsvestavia

Outstanding Bundt Cakes! There's so many to choose from and they taste amazing what else can you say. Maybe $5 a piece, so the price isn't bad.

This is strawberry. Has a slight strawberry flavor but looks like a spice cake. Taste is close to boxed. Moist. Cream cheese frosting is really sweet. Underwhelming. 2.5

Gigi's Cupcakes is a bakery franchise that provides a diverse range of high-quality cupcakes and cookies, including gluten-free alternatives. The assortment of gourmet cupcakes on offer changes regularly, catering to various tastes and preferences. Alongside their delectable cupcakes, Gigi's also offers cookies that are filled with frosting for an extra burst of flavor. Customers have praised the exceptional quality and taste of the products, emphasizing their freshness and substantial nature.
We are normally casual visitors to Gigi's cupcakes, but we wanted a special cupcake cake made with mini cupcake's for our daughter's baptism. Gigi's Dothan was very accommodating and said right up front they could do it and offered to take my order over the phone, but I wanted to give them a sample picture so I ordered in store. All they needed was 48 hours notice and they produced a beautiful and tasty cake made with mini cupcakes (we wanted the mini's since we had kids and diabetics in our group who would need smaller portions). I liked that I could order different types of flavors (the chocolate torte is awesome mini or regular sized!). It was a little pricey compared to what a big box store or supermarket could have done, but overall we were very pleased and will continue to visit them!

We picked this place because of the gluten free options for my daughter and she loved the two she tried. I had the cheesecake that was chocolate and it was outstanding! My husband had another chocolate kind of cupcake and enjoyed it, too. Fresh and tasty, substantial cupcakes.

Cupcakes looked great but we were disappointed to find out that the pile of frosting was more of a generic buttercream. The actual cake was nothing to get excited about and was not worth the price. Publix cupcakes are probably a better deal.

Will not buy any more cupcakes from here because they no longer have the lavender flavor.

The Best Cupcakes!! The cakes are delicious by themselves and the buttercream icing is addicting!
