Nestled within a bustling shopping center, Chelsea's Cup N' Cake is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This charming café offers an impressive array of treats, including cupcakes, cheesecakes—both baked and non-baked—Red Velvet cakes, muffins, and doughnuts. It's the perfect spot to enjoy premium coffee or tea while indulging in generous portions of sweet delights.
Great cake, awesome selection of drinks and such a nice centre where the store is located

Sad how this place has gone down. The food is simply horrible. Service not much better. Orange juice tasted ‘old’. Breakfast was simply bad. Hot chocolate was out of sync with the rest and was excellent. The floor was filthy beyond belief.
Jonid D — Google review
This establishment consistently offers a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind. The cakes are particularly impressive — both delicious and generously portioned. The cocktails are well-prepared and enjoyable, and the overall food quality is commendable. The service is another highlight; the waitstaff are consistently welcoming and attentive, which greatly enhances the overall experience. However, one concern worth mentioning is the condition of some of the smaller sofas, which appear to be stained. This may raise questions about the standard of cleanliness and whether the seating is being properly disinfected. Despite this issue, it remains a delightful venue that I would be happy to return to.
Kun R — Google review
Its very disappointing how the quality went down during these past few years Prices have significantly increased but to me honestly, its not value for money! Took one Ciabatta, was good Took 2 freakshakes - was good but you can immediately taste the lower quality ice cream used - it was not the same taste as compared to a few years back Took 1 cheesecake - i still remember how I went crazy the first time i tried Chelsea's cheesecake but that was around a decade ago But now the texture is cheesy but there is actually no taste - only the compote can remind you of what you might be eating Recommended at your own risk!
Vaishnavi R — Google review
I've been coming here alone (but also with friends) for many years, since the establishment was opened actually, and it's kinda sad that your customer service has deteriorated. Today, I went there alone (as usual) for a break after shopping and was directed to your single table. I missed sitting by the window, and since it wasn't busy at all (morning) and there were only 3 people there, including another single girl sitting by herself working on her laptop, I asked to be seated by the window. Your lady staff refused my request by highlighting that I was alone, so I should stay where I was. It was kinda offensive, her attitude, and if I wasn't so polite, I would have left immediately. But I was already seated, so instead of having lunch there, I ended up having only a quick coffee and left. You should learn to treat your patrons already there respectfully instead of awaiting non-existent clients or future ones. Looks like a loyalty doesn't mean anything here, and customers are casually disrespected. So, I won't be coming here anymore. I would have hoped after the last staff scandal, things would have been better, but now even customers aren't treated right.
Yajna S — Google review
Very nice place but the cake quality became bad recently..pricey and bad
Haina Z — Google review
There truly aren’t enough words to express how disappointed I am, especially considering how lovely the place is overall. Firstly, the customer service left much to be desired. The staff member interacted with me as if they were forcing themselves to be polite—it felt disingenuous and uncomfortable. Secondly, I ordered a cake and a hot chocolate. The cake arrived after about 5 minutes, but I waited an additional 15 minutes for the hot chocolate, which never came. It was only after I approached the counter that they rushed to prepare it. Unfortunately, it tasted more like a basic mix of milk and Milo, something I could easily make at home. But the most disappointing part was the cake itself. It’s clear that the cakes are now being made more for commercial gain than with any real care or passion. The quality has dropped significantly, and the result was underwhelming, especially for the price being charged. I took the time to write this because the experience truly was disappointing, and I expected better.

Le Fournil is a delightful French bakery and pastry shop with four charming locations in Mauritius. It is renowned for its authentic French pastries and baked goods, offering a delectable variety of treats such as flaky croissants and decadent eclairs, all expertly crafted. The cafe also serves freshly baked bread, yoghurts, and a selection of coffee from Nespresso machines.
A Hidden Gem for Breakfast Lovers – La Fournil Pâtisserie If you're looking for the perfect spot to start your day on a delicious note, La Fournil is a must-visit! We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast here, and it was nothing short of delightful. From the moment you step inside, the warm aroma of freshly baked goods wraps around you like a comforting hug. The atmosphere is cozy yet chic – the kind of place that invites you to sit back, relax, and truly savor your morning. What truly stood out was the variety of pastries and cakes on display. Each item looked like it came straight out of a French bakery showcase. From delicate fruit tarts and classic éclairs to rich chocolate cakes and buttery croissants, there's something to tempt every taste bud. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. And it's not just sweets – they also offer a lovely selection of fresh bread, perfect for those who prefer a savory start or want to take home something artisanal. The staff were friendly and helpful, happy to explain the different options and recommend their favorites. The attention to detail, both in taste and presentation, is what makes La Fournil truly special. Whether you're a tourist looking for a local treat, or a regular in search of your next favorite breakfast spot, this pâtisserie deserves a place on your list. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts – and a little box of cakes to enjoy later! Highly recommended – a little slice of Paris right here. Don’t miss it!

We fell in love with the baguettes here! Fresh, flavorful, and utterly delicious. The service was also top-notch. Can't stop thinking about the bread - it's a must-try! The combination of crispy crust and soft interior was perfect. We'll be back for more of these amazing baguettes!

This is a stylish and authentic French café! It offers both delicious (sweet) and healthy food options. Seating outdoors is very comfortable. It’s a great place for a quick lunch and/or coffee. Picture shows the Sanwich Mozrella Tomate I ordered. Looks like the French bread options are very popular. As a bonus, it’s easier to park here than nearby places, makes dropping by a must!

Delicious food and coffee. The biggest problem is there is such a good range of goods it's difficult to choose only enough. It's easy to over order.

Nestled in a charming corner, the Wiener Walzer Café Valse de Vienne is a delightful spot that exudes coziness and warmth. This café prides itself on freshly prepared dishes, allowing guests to customize their meals—whether it's adding eggs to crepes or choosing the perfect curry with vegetables. The culinary offerings are not only delicious but also come at wallet-friendly prices.
We stopped here for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake after visiting the Botanical Garden. A small cafe with a pretty little garden and very tasty apple pie. A visit is worth it.

Decent coffee, tasty pancakes. Lovely garden at the back. Staff very welcoming and kind.

Really nice restaurant near to the botanical garden. We were surprised how many things they serve. Always fresh and a great price. Also no problem to share the portions. If you are at the botincal garden go there for lunch! Great!
A. K — Google review
Very cozy, nice café! All dishes are freshly prepared and you are asked in advance how you would like it (e.g. curry with vegetables, or whether eggs can be added to the crepes). Curry was very tasty!! And cheap prices. It was a bit of a shame that it was very empty and everyone was rushing into the very touristy café right at the main entrance to the botanical garden. The next day we advertised to our driver that he drives visitors of the botanical garden better here!

Great food, and lovely and kind service! I recommend their savoury pancake meals, carry ourites or carry crevettes, the chocolate or coffee milkshakes, and cheesecake. I’ve been coming here with my parents for upwards of 20 years

Dodo Cheri is a charming cafe located in Flic en Flac, known for its delectable desserts and cozy ambiance. The spot offers gourmet desserts, cakes, gelatos, and custom-designed birthday cakes in an inviting atmosphere with a small seating area. Visitors praise the warm hospitality of the owners and the delicious food, including authentic Indian dishes like masala chai and samosas. The cafe also boasts a great selection of gelatos made by an Italian chef.
If you are in Mauritius and craving authentic Indian vegetarian food, this restaurant is a must-visit! Finding good vegetarian food in Mauritius can be quite challenging, but this place is truly a hidden gem. I ordered the Masala Dosa, and I must say it was absolutely delicious! The dosa was perfectly crispy, the potato filling was flavorful, and the chutneys and sambar complemented the dish so well. Every bite was a delight, reminding me of the authentic South Indian taste. Apart from dosa, they also have a variety of vegetarian options, including Paneer dishes, Biryani, Sandwiches, and more. The flavors are rich, and the ingredients taste fresh. Whether you are a vegetarian or just someone who loves Indian food, this place won’t disappoint. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. They ensure that you have a great dining experience. The service is prompt, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and taste they offer. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying vegetarian meal in Mauritius. Whether you're a local or a tourist, do give it a try—you won’t regret it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Popped in just to have a snack, and ended up reserving a dinner for the next evening on account of how good it was. Some of these dishes need hours for marinating, so it's best to reserve for the next day. The dinner that was prepared for us tasted authentic and very skillfully made. The other restaurants we tried were also fine, but had a kind of "instant" quality to it, not here. This is the real deal. And for what I must emphasize, a very reasonable price. And a special touch was helpfullness of Ms Sandhya who also explained various authentic dishes to us and made suggestions. Her hospitality and care was adorable. Thank you for everything!
Fran R — Google review
Went here almost everyday while on holiday. Welcomed by Arvind with his warm hospitality and amazing Gelato for several evenings and later discovered that this was a gem of a place that kept offering more. Every dish was on point, including main dinner dishes (both fish and veg options) and drinks! We loved Pooja's cookies and brownies. They have a great selection of gelatos, which we later found out were made specially by an Italian chef! Their macroons and other pastries are also made by the Italian chef and pretty good for my expectation. They have unique flavours like watermelon and lychee gelato, which we really enjoyed, but the classic chocolate remained a group favourite. For mains, we loved the spicy sambhar with the crispy dosa and, most of all, the fish and paneer kathi rolls. These were made authentically by their indian chef from Uttarakhand. To finish off the meal, the refreshing nimbu pani (homemade lemon sherbert) really hit the spot and took me back to my childhood trips to India! A great find with the tastiest and value for money food and desserts in flic on flac. Thank you Arvind for making our evenings in Mauritius 🇲🇺

The ice cream, cakes and Indian food is amazing here. It is not often that you can say that about a restaurant serving Indian food in Mauritius. The chicken curry is incredible and I come from Durban (South Africa) where we have amazing curries. The hospitality and team here are amazing too. Super friendly and chatty which makes it a nice experience. Would highly recommend them. Come twice a week now 😀.

I have supported this shop since it opened and have bought a number of cakes for parties, birthdays etc. Today I wanted a slice of cake as the cost if Rs200. I had two Rs1000 notes and tried to pay. I was told that they were short of cash and did not have the Rs800 change to give to me. I then put the note back in my wallet and turned to leave. I was then told that I had to pay for the slice as the lady had already cut and boxed the slice. I then said that this is not my fault as you cannot give me change. The lady then insisted that I find a way to pay! I didn't argue, I just left the shop!!! Clearly they do not value there customers!! I am an expat living in Flic en Flac for 10yrs+. I will definitely share my experience with the local expats!! Last year when the owner was in the shop there was a selection of excellent cakes, now 1 cake and some donuts that are overpriced in comparison to local prices!!
Jocelyn S — Google review
The cake was an absolute masterpiece that not only looked stunning but also tasted incredibly delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the texture was moist and light. It was truly the highlight of the celebration and left everyone impressed. I highly recommend Dodo Cheri for their exceptional craftsmanship and mouthwatering creations!

Nestled in the vibrant Quatre Bornes, just a stone's throw from the Saint Jean Metro stop, Desirata le Boudoir Gourmand.mu by Gelatissimo is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This charming patisserie and tea salon specializes in exquisite French pastries and artisanal gelato, each piece crafted with meticulous attention to detail and bursting with authentic flavors.
Nice place to enjoy coffee and the pastries are equally good. The gelatos are equally good and reminded me of the gelatos in Italy. Price is Rs 120 on cone. I recommend the Pistacchio, mango and vanilla gelato.

Desirata for lunch was an excellent experience. I had the thon mi-cuit served with fresh salads and grilled vegetables—it was absolutely delicious! My companion chose the beef burger, which was also full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and efficient, and we appreciated how quickly everything was served. They offer a menu of the day, which makes lunch options even more enticing. I usually go there for dessert, but this time I wanted to try their lunch—and it definitely didn’t disappoint! While waiting, they served us warm bread with butter, which was tasty and perfectly salted. I highly recommend this spot. It’s located in Quatre Bornes, offers reservation options, and has parking available.

I enjoyed a lot the Souris d'Agneau/Lamb Shank which was perfectly cooked and presented. Désirata has a range of pastries, gelato, birthday cakes, a good menu of good quality and a good spot to have lunch. For the experience and quality , the price is ok for me.

Is there a rating for a 6 star somewhere?... Seriously, this small compact place has everything to offer and so much better than 90% of Mauritian resto.. perfect gelato on edge of discovery.. perfect cakes (with local names? Taste?).. filling breaks.. MACARONS... heathly food.. and fish - chicken - beef - Lamb and everything taste good... Have a try in the Quatre Bornes Quarters

Come here to enjoy the true-blue Italian-Sicilian experience right here in the heart of Mauritius. The menu has 3 options in each type : fish, beef, chicken, and vegetarian. The bread that they serve at the beginning of the meal is lovely. We ordered the Poulet Roti, Ravioli, Dorad, and Boeuf. All in all, a yummax meal which leaves you wanting for more. The cherry on top is the gelato, which is smooth, rich, creamy, and decadent. A must-have to end your rather luxurious, hearty, and scrumptious meal.

Les Caprices de Gervais is a delightful establishment with a charming atmosphere and an exceptional team. Despite the passage of time, the staff still remembers their customers, creating a sense of warmth and familiarity. While it is unfortunate that they no longer open on Sundays and have limited hours until 6pm, the quality of their food remains consistent, whether it be for lunch or indulging in their delectable pastries. The value for money is outstanding, making it highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere, good selection of pastries, and a fantastic coffee eclair which is well worth recommending. Seating options included couches and a coffee table right by the window for gossiping and people watching. Coffees weren’t the best, but the food and atmosphere made up for it.

The orange crepes were okay - just average crepes with too many orange slices. It was too sour. The strawberry ones were okay as well. The pastries and coffee are way better. Nice place to chill and have a coffee

Pains et Moulins is a charming bakery in Grand Baie, Mauritius, offering an array of delectable French pastries and desserts. From the classic chocolate mousse to the tangy lemon tart, there's something for every palate. Indulge in strawberry tarts and rich strawberry cake for a fruity delight. The bakery also boasts quality breads and a delightful breakfast selection complemented by flavorful coffee.
Currently at Pain et Moulin in Grand Bay on a busy Saturday morning around 10:30 for breakfast — and despite the crowd, the vibe is just lovely. We had a latte macchiato, orange massepain cake, and a chicken pizza. Everything was delicious! The cake was moist with a fresh orange taste, and the drinks were perfect. Special thanks to Kiki who served us with so much warmth — she was truly awesome. It’s a great spot for early breakfast in Grand Bay. They open really early (around 7am). We even came once right after a morning beach walk. Highly recommended!

The pastry is truly good as well as the environment but I cannot recommend as I went there yesterday and received my Saint Honore cake frozen. The pastry cream inside the profiteroles was completely frozen, which indicates that the cakes might not be fresh. I would also expect the Chantilly on the top to be of a better quality
Lydie B — Google review
The time here was better than a month ago. At that time, they mistreated and disrespected my mother. My father reported it, and they apologized, which is why I removed a star but added a half. I had a three chocolate cake and a Fanta, the best I may have had. They also apparently have the best croissants. Everything else can be described by imagery.

Absolutely wonderful patisserie and bakery, delightful selection of tasty things for breakfast, lunch and tea. Quality is excellent and prices reasonable. Service very helpful and pleasant, described all ingredients which was a great touch. Hard to fault and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area (by Super U)....and worth a detour if you're not! Oh yes very convenient parking too.

We stopped by Pains et Moulins after an amazing day on the catamaran and really enjoyed it. The tarte fraise was our favorite— fresh, sweet, and delicious. The croissant was light and flaky, just the way it should be. We also had a cappuccino and a latte macchiato— both were flavorful and tasty. Great place for a quick coffee and pastry break.

[Edited] This is a Classic French Boulangerie. Like any french bakery they have a amazing range of cakes and breads. AMAZING! The cakes we bought and took away were delicious. Second visit and we tried to stay in for a coffee and cake. We ordered and waited 15 min at a table to see other people arrive and be served food and drinks before us. Wife ended up going and finally got them to serve our food. Cakes, again were delicious. Coffees tasted really horrible. Disappointing. Only takeaway cakes from here!

Awww 🥰 this is my absolute favourite spot for breakfast and brunch! The display of gorgeous pastries and cakes makes me want to try everything — and with such a huge variety, I just might! Always fresh, always delicious. There's also an amazing selection of fresh breads, plus savoury options like salads, rolls, and mini pizzas. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeaway, you’ll never leave hungry. Simply the best!
Olga V — Google review
Great bakery. The breads are really good The pastries are as good as you get in Paris. The breakfast selection is ok, but when you add one of the mind blowing pastries it's amazing. The cafe latte is ok, could be warmer but tastes good. There is parking here plus at Super U across the road and on a Sunday morning there is plenty of free spaces making this a good place for a lazy Sunday breakfast. They also do full cakes for birthdays etc. I rated 5 because the pastries are exceptional, the service is not so good, but mainly because they are so busy. I had to ask twice for the bill and ended up having to go que to pay because no one was coming to the table.

Nestled in the heart of Moka, Maison Escoffier opened its doors in March 2024, quickly establishing itself as a delightful sanctuary for dessert enthusiasts. This charming establishment artfully combines traditional French pastry techniques with the vibrant flavors of Mauritian ingredients. Each dessert is crafted to be lighter in sugar while bursting with flavor, ensuring that health-conscious patrons can indulge without guilt. The menu boasts an impressive array of cakes and elegant sweets that cater to sophisticated palates.

For sure best pastries in Mauritius 🇲🇺 I’ve tasted so far in my life.
Mark M — Google review
My wife and I recently visited Maison Escoffier after discovering it on Google Maps, drawn by our love for cakes. Upon our arrival, we found that many of the cakes were nearly sold out, likely due to our late visit just before closing time, which limited our options. However we purchased five small cakes, each averaging around Rs250. While I must say that one or two of the cakes were exceptionally delightful, the others were merely average. In terms of pricing, I found it rather steep for the quality offered, making it unlikely for many customers to indulge regularly. A slight reduction in prices could potentially attract a larger clientele, especially considering that several well-known cake shops I have encountered provide similar quality at more affordable rates in more inviting environments. Additionally, the focus seemed to be more on the investment on the cake display counters than on the overall decor, which felt somewhat uninspired in comparison. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

The customer service was super good. Day 1, the lady took her time to explain everything to me from A to Z. Day 2, she suggested another flavor with cappuccino. I 👍 it. Day 3. Beautiful and tasty pastries. The staff is very friendly. Space a bit small and parking space limited. Highly recommend! Will be back soon

Cake tastes was extremely bad, bland and ordinary it seem they used cheap ingredient for the price they charged you plus you have to pay them the full amount in order to reserve the cake. The price I paid for this Garbage cake was Approximately Rs2500 dont recommend as they Scam you plus the chocolate sauce on the cake taste exactly like commercial chocolate 🤢 🤮 🤢 🤮 🤢 🤮 🤢 🤮 🤢 🤮

Taste is marvelous, price ok for the quality. One thing that deceives me though is for the weekend breakfast package. If you go before 9.30, they are always telling you the bread has not yet arrived. They could have at least replace it by something else.

Cafe
PAUL is a French bakery and restaurant chain with four locations in Mauritius. The establishment offers a chic blend of bakery, patisserie, cafe, and restaurant experiences. Guests can enjoy a variety of meals throughout the day including breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas, and dinners. While some visitors have noted that the menu could use more variety over time, others have praised the generous portion sizes and excellent customer service.
Went at the Soflo's outlet today. I always take the opera. One of Paul's best! Tried the éclair café. Quite good but the chocolate's one always the yummiest. Tasted its burger. Not bad. Can include more sauces. Overall impressive and good customer service.

In 2025, honestly the staffs who are actually working there are not well trained, They do not know how to operate the coffee machine, a kind enough customer, who was actually a barista had to help the poor fellow to properly scale the coffee machine. In Bagatelle.THEY DO NOT SPEAK FRENCH NEITHER CREOL ! When Chez Paul was initially introduced to the Mauritian market, it was fantastic. Now in 2025, the quality has degraded so much. The staffs are not to be blamed, but the recruiters have set the bar so disgustingly low.

I really enjoy PAUL — the food is consistently tasty, especially the pastries and sandwiches. The service was polite and efficient, and the overall atmosphere inside is quite pleasant. However, I was a bit disappointed to learn that if you choose to sit outside, they only serve food in takeaway packaging and drinks in plastic cups. It takes away from the café experience a bit. Still, a solid place for a quick bite or coffee, just better enjoyed indoors.

I ordered one cappuccino. And I got flat white . All those Caffe was good. But I don't like the staff behaviour. My wife asked for sugar and she was like sugar is there. What that mean you are in service for what when customers go to get the things . Bad experience not visiting again. And you guys don't go to the place.

I've been checking previous reviews. I think there has been an improvement since those were written. We've been there twice lately. Very good service and well-trained staff. When we last went, we ordered a Mauritian Omelette and Veg Penne. Sure, they are on the expensive side but well the serving amount is very generous - probably too generous! Morning Glow carrot-orange-ginger mix juice is good. Definitely the best Paul on the island.

I had lunch yesterday at Paul Soflo and it was a rainy day, cold day so both my friend and I wanted to have a warm meal, which is why we went with the Bolognese Pasta. And I am not even exaggerating when I’m saying it tasted like plain ketchup, in fact for some reason the chef even thought that it would be a good idea to decorate the plate with ketchup too. If you don’t intend to cook something well for whatever reason, why propose it on the menu. On top of that paying I think it was Rs 600 something, for this. I don’t recommend to anyone. Stick to the coffee and pastries. The service was okay, but quite slow. The waiter nonetheless was nice and friendly. And the atmosphere was nice and mostly quiet.

Cakes are good, good variety and unique pastries ,also has some sandwiches and hot beverages like coffe milkshakes etc,but weird staff, cant communicate properly. HIGH PRICE AVERAGE 145 FOR A PASTRY,closes at 9,has many sitting places...not open outdoor though

Nice place for casual coffee, breakfast and brunch . Ideally located to have meetings and the service is nice. Their brunch is always a good option before 11 am

Had a burger (yellow burger bun) with french fries and a gluten free wrap. Was very tasty. And got mayo and ketchup :) Got homemade ice tea which is very fruity and sweet, but also very delicious.

R & B Cake Studio offers a pleasant atmosphere and has a helpful team. In addition, they have pastries for sale in their store, which are delicious. The chips they serve are flavorful and served hot in an attractive "corbeille" basket. This place comes highly recommended for its excellent customer service, friendly staff, beautiful decor with well-equipped seating options, and the availability of various board games to enjoy. The food is also tasty and worth trying at this pastry shop.
A very good atmosphere. Friendly staff. They also have pastries available in the shop. Was very tasty and chips were well seasoned and served hot. Served in a beautiful "corbeille". Highly recommend this place.

Bad customer service. Did not get the cake as ordered, gave me a totally different cake. The 1st photo is the received one, the 2nd photo is reference of what I ordered.

Quite disappointed today with my visit at R & B Cake studio. I ordered a Burger n Chips which was advertised on the menu there. I made my payment and then I was told the menu is not available and this was not really professionally addressed. I was told to choose something else which obviously was not the best suggestion. After sometime they could sent the order. See photo below. For the price the buger is quite small and taste was good. Thanks to the lady who took the order. She was kind and the melon mojito was good.

Well a nice place you can buy and eat there..large variety of cakes..price are a bit high like a piece of cake around Rs60 to Rs80. No need to keep in fridge They give you box for take away. Cakes seems different but same cream is used for many as they all taste same. Had the black beauty cake which was very sugary too sweet. Also had opera and orange choco cake very sweet again Big wedding cake was very beautifully done.

I had a nice coffee break at the cafe bistro pastry! The staff was incredibly relaxed and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was excellent, and the pastry display was a feast for the eyes. Although my choice, the Christmas-themed chocolate eclair, had a common taste that left me slightly disappointed, the overall experience was very enjoyable. I look forward to returning and trying more delicious treats.
