Veggy pasty is full of mold :-( But cinnamon bun is amazing! We went there this morning to buy some food for our today's hike and bought (above other things) a vegan pasty and a vegan spiced roll, both from the open fridge. We wanted to eat it 3 hours later and both items were full of mold. We were really shocked. I tried to call the shop, but nobody answered. We were only this day in Plymouth, so we can't go back. Update: we reached out to the owners via Facebook, they explained that they don't make the vegan rolls and pastys themselves and assured us we would receive our money back. Didn't happen so far, but let's see :-) And I want to add, that the cinnamon roll is simply amazing.

The sweet pastries are outstanding (just like the ones back home!), and the coffee is simply perfect – rich, smooth, and full of flavour. The staff are always warm, kind, and professional. I absolutely love coming here every Friday – it’s my little weekly ritual and highlight. Jacka Bakery is a gem in Plymouth – a place made with heart.

Lovely little bakery! Over 400 years old but certainly not stuck in the past. We enjoyed some delectable overnight oats adorned with pistachios and chocolate, giant fresh doughnuts straight out of the oven, and some much needed flat whites. A perfect way to start the day.

This must be one of the best bakeries in the country. Truly a must-visit. There are no tables inside, only two or three outside on the street, so you may get wet on a rainy day.

Amazing café in the center of Exeter. There’s a variety of freshly made dishes available (including vegan and vegetarian options). The coffee’s delicious and the staff very friendly. Also you can tell that the interior is designed with love and lots of details. Highly recommend this place

Crowded space, very uncomfortable chairs, dirty tables and toilets, basic tea, croissants only served cold! Decorative items poor quality & just make for a cluttered appearance rather than the artisan ambiance being aimed for! Don’t visit! Expensive for a horrible experience.

After traveling the world, hands down Jo and the team make one of, if not the best flat white I've ever had! Along with this there's a great ambiance, open kitchen, delicious homemade treats, sandwiches and a very generous serving of frittata! Can't recommend this place more and dont bother getting a coffee anywhere else!

We had a wonderful family visit to Mrs. Gill's Restaurant during our holiday in Devon, and it was truly unforgettable! The food was absolutely fantastic, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were so welcoming and made us all feel like part of the family. The restaurant is also very wheelchair-friendly, which was perfect for one of our family members. A highlight for us was being able to take home some of their delicious cakes for later. It really made our holiday special, and we’ll be remembering this experience for years to come. Highly recommend for families!

What a lovely place we have just found. Only popped in for a quick coffee with hubby but we both ended up having a panini which was delicious, with a lovely fresh salad garnish (no limp brown bits of lettuce!). All the staff we saw were so friendly and polite and Michelle, the manager, communicated with the staff just brilliantly, very supportive and kind, whilst keeping a watchful eye and giving gentle guidance to a new young starter. Really lovely to see such a young team doing such a wonderful job. It was spotlessly clean too. We will definitely be popping in here whenever we come to Tiverton. Well done to all of you!

Lovely service, thoughtful food, underwhelming portions The service was great—staff were really friendly and helpful. I ordered the burger, which was fairly small, but it was tasty and clearly made with fresh ingredients, just like the coleslaw on the side which I enjoyed. For the price, it makes sense when the ingredients are locally sourced. I also had a small piece of cake which, while underwhelming in size, was redeemed by its flavour. The coffee was quite disappointing—it was small for a “medium” size and unusually bitter. I asked for a latte, but it felt more like an Americano with warm milk. The ice cream, however, was very delicious and fairly priced. I had the strawberry and clotted cream. In total, I paid just over £20 for four items. I was happy to support a local business that values fresh produce. That said, the portion sizes might be better suited to their regular (older) customer base. Thanks for the lovely service and the tasty food!

Assume breakfast, grest coffee with the option of a takeaway cake for later.. food and service is excellent. You can see the bakers at work, compliments to the breakfast chef too. A must visit... They have a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. I reckon I will be back for afternoon tea and sample the Mrs Gills cakes.

We been having a Devonshire Cream/Tea for the past 10 days, in 10 different cafes, since arriving in England. We have found the quality much higher than that in Australia. We would rate Mrs Gills Number 1, out of a very 'classy' field. The food and service were top rate and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff first class.

10/10 amazing! This is the second time using crafty cakes, both times have been outstanding. The cake was absolutely delicious, and despite collecting the cake a day before the event it was still so fresh and moist. Would highly recommend. Both times I have had lemon sponge with buttercream and have given an idea of design and both times have been exactly how I imagined. Thank you so much.

Our family have now used crafty cakes twice and we have been absolutely thrilled with the cakes. Becky and team designed my mums 50th birthday Paddington bear themed cake. It was stunning, personalised and tasted absolutely delicious. This month Becky and team produced our gorgeous wedding cake. From the moment we made contact with them about our wedding cake we knew we were in the right hands. They listened to exactly what we wanted, referred to our inspiration pictures and were brilliant when we had a cake tasting session. What an absolute shock this was. My wife grabbed a couple of sandwiches there and when she told me that she had paid over £10 for a prawn sandwich I wasn't best pleased... But then I tasted it. I can honestly say it was the best prawn sandwich I have ever had in my life. The prawns were absolutely gorgeous. It's pricey, but I'd definitely have it again!

An intimate cafe in a gorgeous location overlooking the estuary. The view across to Instow and beyond was somewhat overshadowed in fact by the chilli&cheese scone. Absolutely delicious. We had a flat white each and both agreed it was one of the best we’ve found locally. And don’t get me started about the carrot cake….!

What a great place. Excellent service with attention to detail. Delicious crab sandwich served with fresh salad, delicious coleslaw and crisps. Salt and pepper pots were a puzzle but a helpful staff soon showed us how to they worked. I wish we'd had room for scones after lunch as they looked blooming lovely! Definitely worth a visit.

A really enjoyable experience. We've visited this cafe a few times for coffees and cakes and it has always been first rate. Today we stopped for lunch and I chose the Beef and Guiness stew and my wife, the Pear, Stilton and Walnut salad. Both were excellent; well seasoned and thoughtfully presented. Each dish included a serving of delicious granary bread, though there was also a choice of white bread if preferred. Additionally the stew included a generous portion of creamy butter served in a separate ramekin at a perfect temperature and consistency. The service is friendly and efficient and attentive. Prices are very fair for the quality of food; there may well be less expensive places to eat in Appledore but you get what you pay for and The Coffee Cabin will not disappoint.

We called in for coffee and ended up having Cheese scones and Parsnips and potato soup. Wow both excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Came with 3 of my friends so a group of teenagers which usually cafes show they don't like but the staff were soo friendly and down to earth - I can confidently say it's the friendliest cafe team in Torquay! The only issue was the prices of the sandwiches and toasties, we would have loved to make it a tradition but £12 for a toastie is a bit out of our budget (on minimum u18 wage ....) The blueberry muffin was incredible and one of my favs Ive ever tried, the cornflake blondie was quite nice but some inside the base felt a bit stale We got the: cheese scone (delish 8/10), cheesy leek and mushroom (very nice but couldn't really taste the mushroom 6.8/10), the triple H (scranalicious 9/10) and the coronation chickpea (my only thing was I was expecting raisins!! I love raisins!!! 8.6/10) overall the toastie bread was delish, the sandwich was quite nice, salad was delish delish delish Ooh we also got drinks!! Biscoff mocha was quite nice but couldn't really taste biscoff or chocolate just coffee, brown sugar latte was brilliant tho! Thank you so much sorry for this long review we really enjoyed it!

I've been going to burridges for ages and I cannot fault them! The staff are friendly, welcoming and always appearing that they are passionate about their work. The food and drink selection is incredible, alongside the care and details when it comes to dishing up food or making drinks! If you haven't already visited; I would recommend that you do! Brilliant place to visit. The folks here are a fab bunch. I have Coeliac Disease and they have great options, both savoury and sweet. I had a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich and a super delicious hot chocolate. Alas I didn't have room for a wedge of one of their lovely gluten free cakes.

Looks nice , small but tarmacked car park. One wheelchair spot but several end spots. Unfortunately, they had a fire at the weekend, so I couldn't go in. A great little find. Apparently there was a fire so it looks very different to usual. Great products including dairy free, gluten free and vegan. Free parking for approx 40 cars. Inside and outside seating. Toilets available. Wonderful farm shop including lots of fresh produce. Friendly staff.

Has been a family destination for over 40 years. Excellent baking, in-house ground flour. Restaurant is great, anything we’ve ever eaten there has been lovely. Wedding reception there for a family member was superbly done, enjoyed by all. Very historical background to the mill, would be a worthwhile add-in for anyone visiting the area, about a 45 minute walk from Budleigh Salterton. Highly recommended!

Good place for lunch, well located for the end of a walk from Budleigh Salterton or the local area, parking was pretty easy on site, a couple of shops to look at, marquee covered seating and outside umbrella covered tables. The sign mentions a fire in June requiring a rebuild of the old Mill building and kitchens but the food from the re-located field kitchen was good with a wide selection of menu options for lunch. We were a group of 7 so had several different menu items- the crab ploughman's, portabello mushrooms and burger were really good. The meals we had were in all the £12- £17 bracket and all top quality, fresh and delicious. Staff were all really friendly, professional and quick with service despite it being a clearly busy service. Can definitely recommend and will go back again when visiting family locally.

It was my first breakfast in the UK. Scones fresh out of the oven were amazing with their clotted cream and jam. Cream tea was lovely. A chicken joined us while we ate. Excellent experience.

Had a really nice time at Otterton Mill! The staff were super friendly and the service was top-notch. It's a beautiful place by the river, perfect for a relaxed meal. I tried the fish and chips, and the chips were the best I've ever had! They could add some peas to the dish, though, which would be a nice touch. The food selection was good and the whole place felt welcoming. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Worth a visit!

Excellent dog friendly cafe. Food is all locally sourced and delicious. Suggest you book if arriving after 12.30 and if the weather is nice then ask to sit in the terrace which is secluded from the road.

The almond croissants were superb. There two types the one which is flatter has chocolate as well. Hard to say which to recommend. The only problem is these will spoil you for almond croissants for ever. I doubt you'll ever have some as good.

Walked past and could not believe my eyes, so many lovely fresh baked breads. And most importantly those cakes! Omg! I have bought couple to take home and they were absolutely incredible!! The cafe is unassuming tucked away from the water front but those cakes are like from Harrods! Absolutely incredible! Can't wait to go back soon and try lots more of those patisserie cakes.

Best French patisserie in Devon! Each cake delicately balanced in flavour, individually distinct and not sickly sweet as becoming the case increasingly in the UK with oversized, American style, boring and unimaginative bakes. Saveurs use beautiful fresh seasonal fruit as well, creating incredible flans and slices. Please can we have more continental patisseries like this in the West Country!

Fabulous coffee, better than than the well known high street chains. However, food and service not so good. The mozzarella, pesto and tomato sandwich is still repeating on me nearly 24 hours later, even after taking gaviscon and omeprazole. The older of the two women serving seemed bored and in a rush to get people out of the shop. We spent more than £17 on 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees, but won't be going back for the nice coffee.

It's wet and it's sunny and we're inside in the warm with tea and bacon butties. Feels safe in here. 😀

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay to attend a wedding in the area. Rooms were immaculate, breakfast was delicious and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault this hotel!! Really lovely!

This a review for the restaurant only, I didn’t stay here, so no clue about the rooms, but the food at dinner was superb! We had all entrees and for my taste, the duck was superb but my brother liked the scallops more. The sauces on the scallops were so good, we licked em clean off the plate. The ceviche was decent too but the other two entrees were just really more to our tastes. For mains, mum & I split the hot seafood platter and my brother got the sea bass. Every bite was delicious! The seafood taste really shown through and just perfectly cooked! At end, got a lovely surprise fudge to celebrate my birthday

I really love this hotel! This was my second time here and equally as good as the first. The room was huge, they allowed me to change from double occupancy to single occupancy with no issues when plans changed fairly last minute, and everyone who works there is extremely friendly. Shout out to the lovely bartender/waiter on Saturday night (and Sunday morning) who was very accommodating even though service was on the verge of ending for the night when I asked for something. The galley kitchen for guests is also a really great touch. Will definitely stay here again.

Invited to dinner by friends on Wednesday 26 March. We each had different courses and each dish was exquisite. We much prefer a smaller menu with attention to each dish carefully prepared than an huge menu with interchangeable food cooked with less care so this was perfect for us. Hugely talented and innovative chef. Very good wine by the glass. Lovely atmosphere and impeccable service by Jack we think his name is ? We will definitely eat here again and again.

We found this place on Google Maps, so glad we went. We had our dog with us, so we ate on the outside benches. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but it was definitely worth the wait. The coffee was very good and we all enjoyed our food. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. It was very good value for money, we all left feeling very full. They also have a little shop selling lovely treats

Fabulous! What a wonderful place to enjoy lunch whilst visiting Lyme Regis. Such a lovely buzzing atmosphere. We were made so welcome by all the staff even though it was packed with visitors. We were with our two whippets and they were also made very welcome! The cappuccino was the best I’d ever had, and the egg Royale was just fab. We’ll definitely be coming back in the spring!

Just loved this place. Food is fantastic and the decaff coffee is the best had. Set down one of the side street of Lyme Regis. It's worth a visit but go early to avoid the crowds. Also has a takeaway service.

Stopped for a coffee and cake with our whippets. Very dog friendly, lovely coffee and the cake we chose was pretty spectacular. Nice sheltered seating outside with friendly welcoming staff. Foods are not the cheapest but what we had we were happy with.

I love a good bakery, so when we realised our accommodation was literally across the road from here, we visited a few times! Coffee and pastries were great. Lovely seating outdoors. Can be a bit of a wait for a table as first come first serve, especially in the morning, but totally worth it!

We had an amazing breakfast here this morning! Poached eggs on sourdough with crispy bacon and scrambled eggs on sourdough with sausage. Absolutely delicious and kept us full for our fossil walk and the rest of the afternoon! Definitely check it out if you are in Lyme Regis - but come early as it was already pretty busy by 9:30am.

We used it a couple of times and found that on both visits the staff were really friendly and the food was very good, with quite a few vegetarian options.

Nice pasties as usual from Pengenna. We ate them on the gardens just opposite. Steak was done perfectly, not overdone and charred like a lot of other places I've been. Enjoyed them so much, I bought a few to take back for family. Lady on the till was polite, we had a chat about the shop they used to have in St Ives.

We are currently on holiday in Devon and decided to drive down to Bude for the day , we stopped in this cafe as I was desperate for the toilet, obviously I was going to buy something but asked first if there was a customer toilet and the stare I got from the lady was like I had just asked her for free food or something !! I immediately said I was also going to be having tea ect and she advised me yes if I’m buying I can use the toilet in the most unfriendly manner I was so shocked by her attitude and aura she clearly isn’t a happy smiley person so working in hospitality is shocking ! I can see by the other reviews I’m no the first person to experience this rude behaviour! My worst experience in Cornwall or Devon and I’ve been coming for years ! It doesn’t cost anything to smile and be polite ! Especially with paying customers !

We popped in on walk through Tantagel. Lovely staff, nice place to eat. Atmosphere was nice, it was quiet when we visited as it was later in the afternoon. Could be extremely busy during summer months. Dogs were allowed in. This was fortunate as we had walked the coastal path from Boscastle.

We came to Bude to visit the sea pool and have some scones. We decided to stop at Pengenna pasties and were served by Bev. She was very nice and friendly and the scones were extremely nice. It was a lovely end to our visit. Will definitely be back .

So rude to my husband who was ordering we had 2 lamb and mint pasties and 2 sausage rolls. The pasties were bland the meat was dripping blood. So many better options available avoid this place at all costs

This is the best pasty place! The pasties are huge and packed with meat. Good variety. Seem more expensive than other shops but not when you see the size!

While I was heading home, looking for a quick stopover, happen to sight this shop. Offering extra large portions of pasties! Additionally, they offer bakeries and sweets. Located at the town centre. Parking is difficult, though best location to grab snacks or for a stopover.

The coffee is amazing, the service was great, and the food tasty. The owners were so friendly and accommodating, and the decor is really pretty with fairy lights. The only drawback is there is no toilet, but there are toilets around the place you can use. However, no toilet would not stop us visiting again if we were in the area, and if we lived locally, this would become my place to get my daily flat white.

Before visiting Barnstaple, I researched cafes in the town. This family run, cosy cafe came up as an award-winning one. We therefore pre-booked our table online through their website. They stop serving breakfast at noon but we were still able to order it at 11.55am. We had a "Devon Breakfast," "Hashinator Crumpets" & scrambled eggs. All well cooked & nicely presented. We had a selection of coffees plus an OTT banana milkshake, made from ice cream & topped with cream. I also took away several of their home-made scones for later. Service was efficient & friendly. Points to note: • It is a small cafe so advance bookings are recommended - this then allocates a table to you for one hour. • It is a dog friendly cafe. • There are no toilets on site but the nearby pub allows cafe customers to use its facilities.

Appearance and locale is unprepossessing, but the food is marvellous, absolutely top class. My wife's two poached eggs with avocado on sourdough was quite as well presented and tasty as one would find in a too class hotel. My all day breakfast had top class sausages, thick bacon, beautiful presentation. Really, it's extraordinary.

First time here and it will not be the last. Lovely little independent café/coffee shop. We only had afternoon tea and it was delicious, the scones were huge, filled me right up. Friendly approachable staff, and dogs are more than welcome.

A really lovely little cafe with a good selection of both food & drink. Very dog friendly. Our dog got treated to a full plate of food! Close to the station as well (10 mins). No toilet inside but owners told us of some close by toilets so no issue for us at all. Would 100% come back.

They're the only place who does bread pudding and it's so good, delicious. They haven't had it for a few weeks I think but everything else I've had has been so good too. Their fruit muffins are the absolute best, and friendly and patient staff while and I stand looking:)

Gluten-Free heaven. Arrived just as a batch of muffins were ready - lemon ones and ginger. The lemon one was finished before we left the shop. A pastie, macaron and flapjack completed our purchases. Really helpful staff and wonderful eats great GF choice. Would highly recommend.

If you’re a vegan and miss baked goods - YOU HAVE TO VISIT! But make sure you go early. It has something for everyone (including your dog) - so glad we popped into this little gem! Will deffo visit again and again!!

Great selection of amazing tasting pasties. Caters for vegans and those with dietary requirements (eg no milk). Very tasty. Plus the kids didn't moan about being hungry for hours afterwards.

This place is must visit when in Totnes! The location, interior, service, food, drinks, the atmosphere.. I mean all in all - it's a place to be! Cannot recommend it more. Have to admit never seen such creative and innovative menu like here. I wanted it all! One of each! I think I will have to be frequent visitor to Totnes just to stop there for a break. Absolutely wonderful! Don't give a miss!

Stopped in on a quick trip back to Plymouth and was really impressed. The coffee was great — smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. I also grabbed a couple of snacks which were just as lovely. It was pretty busy when I arrived, so there was a bit of a wait for my coffee. Nothing unreasonable, just worth knowing if you're tight on time. That said, if you’ve got a few minutes to spare, it’s definitely worth the stop. You can tell this place has a good buzz and a loyal following — always a good sign in any café. Would happily swing by again when I’m next passing through!

So we visited Totnes recently and decided to have a coffee at a local cafe. We came across a small café called 'The Hairy Barista'. The place was packed so we sat outside. My wife went in and ordered a coffee and cake while I waited. It took ages before she came back with a piece of cake and a glass of water. Unfortunately, the glass of water was dirty and looked like the glass hadn't been cleaned. The plate that the piece of cake was on (which was quite nice) also had multiple chips which is not good from a food establishment. When the coffee finally arrived it seemed just a standard coffee from a machine. However, it came in a mug with no plate and a spoon which was placed on the table which also hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. Therefore, I had to polish the fork and spoon to be able to use them. Overall, I think the place was so busy that standards involving cleanliness and infection control had slipped somewhat. Therefore, the next time I visit Totnes I will try a different establishment. There are other places in Totnes, so do give them a try also.

What a wonderful place! The coffee was fantastic and our brunch completely delicious! Our dogs were welcome. We sat in the garden on a warm September morning and it was so beautifully peaceful. The service was charming and friendly and our food and coffees were served very efficiently. I read in another review that somebody’s dog wasn’t made welcome, and I would like to say that this was absolutely not our experience. Both our dogs (even the 18 month old Labrador!) are beautifully behaved and we never worry about taking them with us and we were made very welcome.

Great place for a coffee, cake and vegan lunch. We came here mostly because of its plant based menu, and were pleasantly surprised by the outdoor seating area and amazing vibes. I had a delicious mozzarella and pesto sandwich - the bread was crispy and the filling was fresh. My gf had the salmon and cream cheese bagel - not quite as good, the ‘salmon’ is carrot and although yummy wasn’t mind blowing, but still a decent lunch item. The coffee was really really good though. And we had a matcha, vanilla and chocolate mousse cake - yummy but not mind blowing again. The staff were nice and it had a proper community vibe, and we got chatting to some regular customers who were so friendly. We were mostly happy to be sitting in the garden by the water fountain, with beautiful umbrella shades and south east Asia vibes. We definitely recommend this place for a nice lunch and coffee if you’re in totnes!! Also dog friendly :)

We contacted Mrs Browns Bakery at very short notice after deciding that we did in fact want a Wedding Cake for our Wedding! G at Mrs Browns was very happy to talk us through the process and give us all sorts of ideas as we didn’t really know what we wanted. We settled on a fun themed cake, inspired by a cake they’d previously made, with a small cup cake tower next to it. Not only were the cake and cupcakes actual works of art, the texture of the sponge was super light and moist and the flavour of the jam and butter cream of the wedding cake, and lemon sponge with lemon curd filling for the cupcakes was sublime. As you can see from the pictures below, we can highly recommend Mrs Browns for any cake needs….

We ordered the Friday couple set, which was super cost-effective. The platter breakfast was very abundant, with generous portions. The latte coffee was also delicious. The staff were very friendly and would always inquire about our satisfaction with the meals.

We needed branded cupcakes to gift our referrers and Georgie stepped in to help, with no fuss or complications. She understood what we needed, and she exceptionally delivered. I couldn't recommend her and the team enough - we're lucky to have them locally. We'll remember to order more for ourselves next time!

Guys... that milk bread sando... WOW. That could be the best sandwich I've ever had in my life! The cookie pie is heavenly, and I'll be able to savour it all weekend as it is MASSIVE. I'm supposed to go out now, but I'm in a food coma. Well done 🙌🏻

Not only does Mrs Browns make delicious cakes, wraps and salads they do a banging breakfast too! Georgie also makes little doggy puddings that my dog adores so when it came to his first birthday I had to ask her for something special for him and she did not disappoint! Mrs Browns did my wedding cake this weekend, supplemented by doughnuts, cupcakes and brownies and it all tasted delicious and was displayed beautifully! Cake tasted fantastic and all of the guests enjoyed it and were eager to dig in! Everything was exactly how we had imagined it and it was absolutely fantastic, thank you so much!

Love that this cafe is open all year round. Winter low season Wed- Sundays. Good range of homemade cakes, sweet and savoury pastries and delicious wraps and gourmet sandwiches. Plenty of comfy informal seating, highchairs for babies, board games,books.....it's all about the chill. Toilets on site. Parking 50 meters away.

We loved this place so much that we visited 3 times in 24 hours. The coffee is delicious, and the cakes are insane. We had the BEST cookie we have ever tasted (which was vegan and we didn't even realise) so we had to come back the next day to get some to take home with us. The owner was so kind and welcoming and he told us his wife makes all the desserts - she is so talented! The coffee and hazelnut tart was incredible and it was a nice place to drink in the evening as well as to sit in the day. Worth the 4 hour drive for our visit just for this place- thank you!

The food we ordered was very good, lovely sandwiches and cake. Good quality ingredients. The service could be improved, no warm welcome from the staff member when entering. The atmosphere was okay. They only played hip hop music the whole time visiting, which was quite annoying and not very relaxing, but if hip hop is your thing, I am sure this place would be absolutely fine. Wonderful sea views throughout 💙

I unfortunately left it to last minute to order a 60th birthday cake and thought all was lost until I contacted Naughty but Nice. The staff were most helpful and between us we came up with a cake that could be done in the time we had. The result was fabulous! My brother loved it. If we had had more time we might have added a figure on but it didn’t detract from the purpose, to use the cake as a pointer to a rib boat trip as a present. Thank you Philippe and Lesley!

Nice local patisserie with savoury and sweet delights on offer. Quiche is very nice, usually 3-4 different types on offer. Savoury pasties too meaty and cheesy ones. Offers hot or cold, take out or sit in but only a couple of tables. Cakes of course are al spot on Opera cake especially nice 😊

Nice food and cakes but rather small coffees witch isn't a problem but they ask you how much sugar you would like instead of being able to help yourself and if you didn't release how small the coffees are you can get this quite wrong so I ended up with a undrinkable coffee unfortunately

My mum loves this patisserie and often takes me when I'm visiting from university. The cakes are tasty and usually don't disappoint. There are a couple that sometimes miss but otherwise a great patisserie, probably the best in Torquay.

Grew up going to Maiseys bakery for a sweet treat, unfortunately since the change in owners I have noticed a real decline in the quality of the food and the level of customer service, its such a shame as I am always one to support local business and I have tried time and time again to keep this as a go to place but I am afraid I can't no more, every single time I walk in to the shop its the most blunt unwelcoming service, I work as a customer assistant and I understand it can be taxing and exhausting at times but you kind of have to grit your teeth and get on with it, but the staff are always just so rude, Also purchased two cakes the other day and both had hair like fibers in them. And despite that I still went back and gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a pasty but unfortunately none of this is quite like it use to be, I think this has been the last time I will be a customer at maiseys and I will keep my fond memories of when I was a child

Without a doubt the best meat and potato pie I’ve had outside of Lancashire (in fact better than some in Lancs!) We popped in on the way home from my sons football match, and I grabbed one to warm up at home!!! We live 30 mins away……but I will be back just for the pies!

We arrived late on a Friday looking for the perfect vegan cream tea and we weren’t disappointed! You have to order in advance for their special High Tea so that wasn’t available, but Lorri pulled out all the stops to produce this spectacular feast - every single thing on there was utterly delicious. Was the highlight of our holiday, and we’ll definitely be back. Lorri and Cameron were perfect hosts, we stayed back and had a lock-in with Earl Grey, and lots of laughs. Thanks guys! I can't recommend this place highly enough! We came for a visit as we'd heard they have epic cream teas... Boy they weren't kidding! On the day we visited they didn't have any sweet scones and we were gutted but Lorri and Ann marie were so kind and made a batch while we waited, we really did appreciate the kindness of them both and had a really good chat while we waited! Both sweet and savory were an absolute delight! We also couldn't resist and took a slice of carrot cake and cam's banoffee pie with us 😍 We will definitely be back when we pass through again! One of the nicest tearooms you will come across. Amazing plant based food showing you don't need to eat dead animals to enjoy a great meal out. The jacket potato with chilli and the soup of the day with the cheese and chutney toasted sandwiches were delicious. The cream tea was the best we've had! Very friendly and relaxed vibe made us feel welcome. If we lived in the area, we would be in all the time.

The most wonderful service from the caring owner! I live overseas and Hannelore was absolutely outstanding in providing a voucher for a Christmas Afternoon Tea to send to my good friend in the UK. Willows really did go above and beyond and the review from my friend after the event was 'scrumptious and beautifully presented'... she's definitely going back! A massive thank you to all at Willows, I'll definitely be visiting when I can get back to the UK. I would completely recommend as service like this should be celebrated.

My husband and I had the best vegan breakfast we have ever tasted. It has such a lovely atmosphere. A great menu. The only thing that we are sad about is the fact we didn't find this little gem earlier. We will be certainly visiting before we set off home tomorrow.

Fantastic place for pasties and cakes. The traditional Devon pasty is excellent and there are many different flavour pasties to choose from. Also the cakes look wonderful. Probably the biggest pasty I have ever seen is sold there called the Teignmouth beast.

Ignore my earlier rating caused by old age and finger trouble.... Been here a couple of times on my visits to the UK and have to say as good a pasty as I've tried , excellent flavour and great pastry 👍

Lovely little traditional bakery in Torrington. We stopped here on a cycle for a coffee and cream tea. There are two small tables to sit inside. The traditional Devon pasty was delicious! They have a huge selection of cakes and pastries too.

Mime Café is a fantastic spot for delicious food, whether you’re popping in for coffee and cake or sitting down for a proper meal. Tucked just around the corner, it’s well worth seeking out. The staff are incredibly friendly, and it’s a genuinely dog-welcoming place too. With seating both indoors and out, it’s a lovely place to relax whatever the weather.

My husband and I ate lunch here last week. Sitting in the sun outside eating the most delicious food was such a treat. The food we had was really outstanding. As a bit of a foodie running my own catering business I find it really hard to eat out as I'm often disappointed. Not at Mime. I had the perfect wellness bowl and my hubby had the sausage roll with salad. We were having such a good time we stayed for coffee and cake! Thank you for making our trip to Tavistock so good.

I am very glad a place like this has opened locally. The location is lovely with the outdoor seating overlooking the beach and sea. They offer some proper food options like salads, pasties and sandwiches and gelato type ice cream varieties. However, to me this place is all about the patisserie! Really tasty and not badly priced considering the standard of the items available. If it busy some of the more adventurous items are limited or seem to disappear quickly (one of the minor reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars) so it can be a bit of pot luck on what is available beyond some of their more frequent items but they are no less tasty and their pastries are top notch!

I've been following this little gelateria / patisserie on Instagram ever since it opened. I finally visited it today. Their home-made ice cream was lovely. We tried their banoffee, strawberry & salted caramel flavours. The two fruity ones were especially good. We bought two cakes to take-away - a lemon tart & a vanilla / raspberry choux bun which were both lovely. You should be aware that it is not a cheap place (our 2 cakes & ice creams cost over £18) but as a treat, I'd certainly recommend it. There are a few seats inside & more outside (directly opposite the beach.) The staff were very friendly & helpful. We parked in the Pay & Display one immediately behind the building - costing £3 an hour.

Perfect location in the summer for gobfuls of yummy ice cream on the beachfront in Exmouth. I guess this place is well known for their ice creams, not their coffees. My coffee was so bitter, i had to add sugar to drink it. Staff were friendly and place was clean, just a bit of a bummer if you're looking for a caffeine hit

Both this and the Yellow Deli in Honiton are truly special, a breath of fresh air amongst all the boring chains that have had sprung up in Devon in the recent years. Wonderful, wholesome food, the best vegan burger we've ever tried (we always order it even though neither of us is vegetarian!) and always a warm, friendly welcome, as if we were some long lost family members!

Lovely cafe that we stumbled upon after doing a helicopter ride, it's pay as you feel which I didn't expect! Very good cakes the gluten free brownie was amazing. I took away some of their gluten free bread fresh out of the oven literally and it was delicious!

What a little gem. The carrot cake is the most delicious cake ever. The staff are absolutely amazing. Filter coffee rather than machine made but again, the best filter brew that I've had. Worth treading off the beaten track. No hesitation in recommending the Common Loaf. BRILLIANT 5stars from me.

Been going to the yellow deli in Honiton since they first opened. The food is so fresh and delicious my son and I are always so warmly welcomed we have got to know some of the lovely people there over the years. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere highly recommended.

Visited today with my partner. Lovely little place. Sat in front of the fire with a pot of tea. Only banana cake and apple cake available which was a shame. Was offered a beef and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. Would gladly go back.

Excellent little cafe. Incredibly friendly staff, such a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We sat with our tea and coffee, all in beautiful china, on the sofas in front of the roaring fire while we waited for our sandwiches to be prepared. The menu is very limited, but we go back time again for their amazing steamed sandwiches. We both agree it's the best sandwich we've ever had! Cannot rate the place highly enough, although I'm tempted to give a bad review just to keep the hoards away from this hidden little gem.

I haven't been to this shop but tried a bake during Bristol harbour fest. I got the sprinkles millionaire cookie (I think?!) And it was DIVINE. I've ordered tons of bakes and tried pretty much all postal sellers and this was pretty much up there with one of the best I've had. Not sickly at all, perfectly balanced flavours and you could tell they used high quality ingredients. Honestly I'd say this is worth this trip or if you can't make it they also do postal brownies/blondies etc! 5 stars, thoroughly recommend.

Ideal for a special occasion, gift or a treat. Take them home for tea or wander up the road and enjoy them overlooking the sea on Babbacombe downs. I have wanted to try Big Bakes Bakery for Years and since moving to Southampton I never got the chance. I made it my mission to make it to Big Bakes while I was back in the area for Holibobs. Just look at how good these 2 look (They do so many more beautiful bakes too)! Now there was no question that the Big Bakes goodies look stunning, but I always wondered if the taste matched their looks. Wow did they deliver! The recommendations I received and reviews I have seen don’t even do them justice! I know it might sound like I am exaggerating but it was honestly the best cookie/cookie dough I have ever had and one of, if not the best dessert I have ever had (and I am a massive chocolate addict with a huge sweet tooth!). To describe it, Look at the picture and imagine how good it tastes… now multiply that by 10. Or remember the best dessert/cookie you have ever had, now forget it because it is trash in comparison. Okay exaggerating slightly now lol, but you get the idea. I also have a huge appetite and no stop button, but it almost defeated me! Which is great in terms of serving size and value for money, which is also something I worried about; though I now see the value is definitely there! Your doctor would probably advise it serves 2, but what do they know ahah. Long story short, Big Bakes Bakery, you are phenomenal and deserve to have shops everywhere, so everyone can experience your amazing creations. You have another fan for life...and even had me debating moving back to Devon. #Recommend

I LOVE BIG BAKES!! I first discovered them years ago at Powderham Food Festival (back when they were Get Cupcaked!) And my life has never been the same since! They did our wedding cakes (Chocolate Brownie cake and a billion different cupcakes) 🧁 which was just delicious. Since lockdown they have been supplying HF of Devon with their treats and I cannot describe how grateful I am! I managed to get my dad a treat box for Father's Day which went down brilliantly 😊 and now the whoopie cookie boxes are giving me life 🧁 I can't wait to hit the shop soon too, thank you Big Bakes! 🧁🧁🧁

Cake looked absolutely amazing superbly decorated. They made the cake exactly as we asked them too with the little add-ons (golden snitch & wand) . Was a very good price for what we got,enough for at least 28 portions. The cake was ready for when we asked for and it and not only that the taste of the cake was hmmmmmmmm, nice fluffy cake and tasty but not to sweet icing. Thank you very much.

Met up with a friend that I haven’t seen for 30 years and we decided to James’. The cafe is clean and well laid out. The staff very welcoming and friendly. We had tea and cake, which was delicious! They also didn’t seem to mind us being in there so long. Would definitely go back in again, lots more cake to try!

James has made several birthday cakes for us and recently has made our wedding cake which was an absolute delight! All of our guests absolutely loved it, it tasted amazing and looked stunning with edible flowers on it too. James has also made a few birthday cakes for us which have also been spot on, including a tractor being driven by a dinosaur cake for our son which was very impressive! My personal favourite from James was a pavalova he made which was just to die for, I have been dreaming about it ever since! Very very talented man, highly highly recommend

James baked a spectacular cake for our grandmother’s 100th birthday. It was absolutely beautiful and incredibly tasty -everyone was impressed and asked for his details. What can I say? My man James makes cakes and biscuits like Chelsea blow money on mediocre footballers! We had sent to us a Blackcurrant & white chocolate yoghurt topped flapjack, these were bloody unreal, genuinely the best flapjack I've had in a long long time. A Kinder beuno brookie (I thought Brookie was a naff soap featuring a load of jobless scousers but there you go) which was so rich and chocolately it was an absolute dream and finally one of the best caramel brownie slices I've ever had, I'd happily eat three or four of these and fall in to a diabetic coma. If I'm ever in James' neck of the woods I will 100% be visiting his cafe and trying some more of his delights. Anyway I'm off to order me some more flapjack, I advise you to do the same!

Popped in for some sourdough (amazing quality brown) and picked up a samosa and coffee and walnut slice. Amazing pastry on the samosa and really beautifully spiced. The soup looked good and the sound of cheese and jalapeño jam toastie, yummy. The lady serving was so so lovely. Definitely a bakery worth going out of your way for.

We bought both a normal loaf and a frozen gluten free loaf. Both were expensive and unfortunately dry. They have both defied normal expectations and not become stale over 5 days and 3 days respectively which is a bonus. Would not recommend I’m afraid.

Fantastic! The only vegan option on hand was focaccia which is not usually my favourite, but Beachwood's was so good it's made me a new convert. And the take home basic sourdough is simply outstanding. Looking forward to returning whenever we're in the area!

The seeded bread is for me, undoubtedly the King of the Breads from Julia and her team ... and that is saying something as the sourdough 'village' is also really scoffable & addictive. The cakes are far too tempting and as for the cinnamon rolls ... well lets just say, I have to strictly ration them as a treat as otherwise I wouldn't fit in my jeans! Delicious.

I was walking through Chagford and there was the most incredible smell coming from Beachwood Bakery. It turned out to be a fresh batch of samosas and oh my god they were the best I’ve ever tasted. This bakery is an absolute gem and a reason alone to head to Chagford!

We visited whilst on holiday and found a nice selections of cakes and pasties. Some were out of stock due to them having a busy morning. We settled for a couple of tradional pasties and the lady informed us they were doing a meal deal for a pasty drink and packet of crisps. Which we opted for. She was very helpful and efficient, although she had her hands full with a young member of staff learning the ropes. The store was tidy and well laid out. With a full range of quick snacks including pasties, sandwiches, drinks, cakes, cookies and crisps. Disabled access. No parking available. Seating outside although gets full up quickly.

One lady was very good but the rest.... couldn't be bothered attitude and then as it was near closing time, I presume, they started clearing up around me making the atmosphere very awkward. I appreciate closing time is 4 but surely the clearing i e sweeping ,sanitising tables shouldn't be done until customers leave???

Lovely staff and the food was amazing. Since it's the first time that I'm using their Rewards app, they given me the food for free. But after that, I'll have to pay for food like sausage roll for example. Definitely would visit there again.

Pasty and a cup of tea. Pasty is probably the worst I've ever had, a dollop of pastry with a small amount of filling. (Warren's used to be top-notch)! Tea was hot but completely tasteless.

Overpriced and pasties are getting smaller by the week. They don't even stock the cakes now they just have photos of them in the windows to make it look full and tempting. They also put loads of pepper in the pasties to make up for the bland taste of them and they are too spicy. Salt would bring out the flavour.

The best cheese and onion pasties in Plymouth, NOTE since Covid-19 this is no longer an eat in establishment so takeaway only, be aware this popular shop may run out of some varieties of pasty just after lunchtime.

Staff are incredibly rude. They didn’t ask us whether we wanted to sit in or take away. I was ignored when I wished to get served. They mixed up our order and acted as if it was our fault, and proceed to glare at us to the point of us leaving our friend to wait for his food from discomfort.

Never have vegetable pasties. Ever. Only a cheese. When I ask for the 25th time why? It's because they have 13 meat options so no room in freezer for a single Vege pasty. Sorry but no. Awful!!!

In winter time when we were holiday in Cornwall areas , We stopped there with my wife when we were heading to see coast for short rest and refreshments. The facilities were clean 🧼 and enough for number of passengers which stopping there. Tasty and delicious cafe and hot drinks and snacks, sandwiches 🥪. As this is a very warm and pleasant environment which you can have good time together with your friends and family. For having a meal or drink. Quality of products are good, they have very friendly and knowledgeable staff so this is the reason you can high quality food and drink. Also it’s located very close to the main road and easy accessible with sufficient Carpark bays. I strongly recommend to use their services. I should say it was only open café in winter time there and we were very thankful 👌💫

Stopped in at Polperro Bakery after an early morning walk from Talland Bay, and it was just what I needed. I was in desperate need of a coffee, and this place didn’t disappoint! Had a lovely latte and enjoyed it in the peaceful courtyard at the back of the bakery – a really nice setting to relax in. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great little spot – definitely recommend if you’re passing through Polperro!

We got their sandwiches, and scones/cream tea in a box to have later on the beach. Absolutely perfect scones and lovely well filled fresh sandwiches 👌🏼

Half way through this "steak" and ale pasty and there's little to no meat in it! It's barely packed with filling as it stands. Not worth £4.20. Would not recommend for pasties if this is what I am to expect. Better off with a Ginsters.

I was bought one of your lardy cakes by a friend visiting Shaldon. It was right proper - I ate the lot in one sitting, and I haven't tasted anything that good since our last local artisan bakery in Taunton closed some 8 years ago. I congratulate you on producing a great West Country delicacy with such skill, so unlike the pallid offerings masquerading as lardy cake in our local outlets.Thank you- it's almost worth the 100 mile round trip to grab one or two!

Smelt the Cornish pasties which were as excellent as they smelt. Local customer recommended lemon cake. So glad we followed advice. It was moist and delicious and kept for days.

I bought coffee beans from Rwanda for the first time here and I have been very impressed by the service and above quality of the coffee. I really like Rwandan coffee and this does not disappoint. I will definitely return to buy more. They are well worth the money. Keep up the good work.

Quite a surprise find in what is really the middle of nowhere. Lovely to meet staff who are knowledgeable about the products they are selling. The young lady from New Zealand who we met today had also travelled to Thailand and tasted Thai coffee beans. We were so impressed with her knowledge and friendliness that we bought some coffee from her.

Lovely coffee stop, just off the A38. Found this place by chance when visiting ’The Gun Room’ when down on holiday last year. Made sure to return this week as back in the area again. Is a really lovely cup of coffee, cakes and pastries are good, and is a pleasant environment to sit. Would recommend.

Our favourite coffee and tea cafe. I’ve just returned from a month hiking in Southern California and whilst the US may have the free refills nothing compares to the quality of Owens coffee. Best coffee around 🙂

First visit to Owens. Parked immediately outside though we had the last place apart from the one disabled bay. There is additional parking around but it can be busy at weekends. We had a few drinks which we sat outside on the terrace. The indoor cafe allows 'well behaved' dogs as well. The coffee drinks was not overpriced, I have Americano without milk and like my drink strong so that I can taste the coffee. Unlike some nearby establishments where the coffee is transparent to the bottom of the cup, this was as I would expect and how it is served abroad, strong but nice. Definitely recommend as a place to grab a coffee. Also bought some coffee beans which while organic were over twice the price of the high end Italian coffee beans I normally buy so have great expectations of the beans bought from Owens.

Omg the best bakery ever! Everything is clearly labelled which is great if you have allergies like I do. The jam doughnuts are the best ever, perfection every time. The staff are all lovely, friendly and super helpful.

Incredible jam doughnuts - these have a huge reputation amongst friends, family and colleagues. Oliver’s is a great local bakery with a huge range of fresh produce. Their Norfolk crunch loaves are also particularly excellent. Always worth the queue!

Extremely rude when entering the bakery, rather than politely explaining it was only 2 customers at a time, we were shouted out the bakery, constantly stared at and then when a colleague asked if we need help we entered and again both stared at by staff as if we had done something wrong! Yet all staff in the back were mask free which just makes a mockery of the whole process. Sad to say I left and went to the family run bakery down the road, which may I say all staff there were very warm, inviting and polite. Please work on your customer service as honestly it is shocking and staring at people is not the best way to welcome new custom.

We come here weekly for croissants,and bread. The staff are all friendly and one in particular is very lovely to my son who enjoys coming with me just to talk to her. The bread is soft and delicious. My parents like it so much they ask me to get them an extra loaf to take home with them each time they visit from Dorset. The cakes are tasty and a generous size, well worth it. Oliver's far outstrips supermarket bread and helping an independent retailer too!

Usually great but this is under cooked. Sloppy mess without even pulling it away from the paper cup, it fell apart. Reply to your message! Well it's was a stoggy slop and only about an inch high in the middle. Undercooked, made wrong or wrong heat setting, I font know, thsts not my job. Point is that it didn't hold together. Oh the rasbery a white chocolate was good either: Hardly any chocolate and soggy bottom.

My son went to Lloyds bank today drew £10 out to purchase 2 wraps. When the change was given it was for £5 not the £10 he had handed over. He queried this but was told there was no £10 in the till ? Since cash up there till is down so my son is now £5 down as well. I Would recommend any one using this shop to be vigilant as someone has taken my sons £5. We will not be using them again.

This charming little café is tucked around the corner from Exeter Cathedral away from the bustle of Cathedral Green. Everything is freshly baked on site and tastes incredible, my personal favourite being their carrot cake. On warm summer afternoons, their tea garden is flooded with Devonshire sunshine.

Great homemade cakes and more. Refreshing loose leaf tea too. Limited and tight seating indoors, a little better outside. A great treat with attentive service.

I’m sorry to say that I didn’t enjoy my experience with Peboryon. We had ordered a double height petite cake and a macaron tower to be delivered to our wedding venue. The top three images below were what I had sent to Claire to help describe our nod to Bridgerton theme and asked her to make these as close as possible to the images. However we felt the wedding cake was lacking in the intricate details we asked for and didn’t like the piped beading around the edges which we feel cheapened the look (and wasn’t in the image I sent). A few of my guests also mentioned the cake had a grey tinge to it when we expected it’d be pure white. I don’t know if this was done intentionally or weather the chocolate layer underneath was showing through (another thing we didn’t expect and felt was a bit bizarre that a milk chocolate layer would be put on, especially for a lemon cake and Victoria sponge, it was also very thick and made the cake heavy and sickly). I was most upset about the macaron tower as I was hoping for an elegant feature for the cake table but it was far from my vision. The colours were garish and not the delicate pale blue and lilac matching the rest of the wedding theme. They also had an iridescent coating on them which I didn’t like (or ask for). Worse of all, my photographer came to me whilst I was getting ready to say that Peboryon had broken the original cone and had to replace it with a larger one which meant there were not enough macarons to fill the gaps even after using the spare ones we paid extra for intended to be kept separate as decoration for a photography flat lay. Finally the ribbon attached to the top was yellow, an odd choice and something I would have removed if I’d had time during the day. Overall, we feel the cake/macarons did not match the high-end expectation we had of Peboryon and not something we’d have paid £500+ for 🙁 I’m also upset that despite our venue mentioning our disappointment to Peboryon, we have not heard from them.

Peboryon created our wedding cake last year and I knew from the moment I spoke to Esther, their ray-of-sunshine PA that we were in good hands. We unfortunately had had a bad experience with our initial wedding cake maker and so decided to change; not at the last minute, but still not an ideal scenario - and Claire and the team at Peboryon could not have been more helpful. They're incredibly talented and their service is amazing. I was so glad I listened to my instincts and went with them in the end. They even made the little figurines on the top of our cake with so much love and attention to detail, it really made our wedding cake unique to us. Everyone raved about the taste - "decadent sticky toffee" - which was delicious and we were very glad we had some left to enjoy with our family after our wedding!

From start to finish Claire was an absolute pleasure to deal with! She was extremely knowledgeable and had so many lovely ideas. Claire really brought our vision to life for our wedding cake and it was even more beautiful than we imagined. The most AMAZING cake for our wedding we’ve ever seen!! We hired Christine and Phil at Peboryon to create a custom one of a kind cake for a our wedding. From the initial design consultation to the final product, they were incredible!! The cake even had over 2,000 sugar flowers, all handmade!! Chloe Bakes provided our wedding cake back in August this year, we were so impressed with it, it exceeded all our expectations it was just perfect! The amount of compliments we received truly reflected just how hard Chloe had worked on it, right down to every detail. I was quite an indecisive bride, I had a rough idea what I wanted but struggled to know exactly how I wanted the final look to be, Chloe took the time to draw out some ideas and came up with some suggestions, this really helped me visualise the cake and helped me come to a decision. We got married in a 35 degree heatwave, Chloe was so reassuring and ensured the venue knew exactly when to take it out of the fridge to ensure it kept it shape, without any disasters and the fact Chloe delivered the cake was a massive weight of my shoulders and to see it for the first time in front of my loved ones was so lovely, I would highly recommend Chloe Bakes to anyone, it was such a smooth process especially when I was so indecisive and was worrying about it all.

Chloe did our wedding cake a few weeks ago, and it a wonderful, well made, tasty cake that got rave reviews from guests and us alike! We chose a carrot cake for the bottom tier, and victoria sponge for the top tier, and both were fantastic! (Though i don't think ill ever have a carrot cake that can top Chloes!) We opted for the brownies, and cupcakes with pick n mix as well which was an absolute hit with the kids! Everything was laid out perfectly and looked beautiful. Alongside this, I was very overwhelmed with planning, and had no idea what I was doing or even what to ask for. Chloe was kind, patient and explained everything really well. She went above and beyond. Speaking with me to make sure our vision came to light and everything was perfect. She got the design spot on, even from my very unhelpful description, and worked with us to make sure we had everything we might want/need, that worked with our budget. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you, Chloe for such a beautiful cake, and for such a special and personalised service. If you are having a wedding, or any event Chloes Bakes is a great choice!

Chole made an amazing 70th Birthday cake, It was a bit last minute but I was not disappointed. I gave her free rein on the decoration and it totally perfect for the receiver. 2nd item ordered from Chole and will be using again.

I've been ordering cakes from Chloe since lockdown and they are the best in the business. Always on time, taste amazing and beautifully decorated to a high standard. Chloe bakes is my top choice when ordering cakes and other delicious treats.

Today (17 May 2019) at 4.10pm I went to this shop. The two female staff were having a conversation. They barely acknowledged that I was there. One was cleaning the floor and the other did say ‘’hello” but carried on the conversation. I asked for a spinach and ricotta pasty. There conversation still continued and the female not cleaning the floor went to the window and took a pasty out and put it in a bag for me. Their conversation continued all this time. Eventually the one serving me said “£2.95”. I handed her a note and she handed me my change. And the conversation continued. There was no curtesy “Thank you” or any acknowledgement of my custom. I was absolutely disgusted with the service. Then to add insult to injury, when I got home and bit into the pasty, which I had really been looking forward to eating, I found it was some spicy veggie thing which was disgusting. I can’t eat spicy food which is why I chose the spinach and ricotta pasty. Perhaps if the person serving me had stopped her conversation and concentrated on what she should have been doing, I would have got the pasty that I wanted. I will not be going to this shop again and I will not recommend it to anyone. Staff training in customer service and good manners is needed. Thank goodness there’s a Greggs just along the road.

Today 04/06/2019 Had been shopping in Exeter on the way back to car We saw this so called Bakery we were looking to get a snack to eat back at home, bought two Steak Pasties. Big mistake paid £5.90 for the most disgusting, tasteless, inedible pasties you could imagine. They went straight in the bin after one bite each. Be warned!!!!

Just been told not to eat Gluten as it made my stomach bloat. Cutting out bread was hard as I liked nothing more than a slice with butter on. I've tried other breads and found Bowdens by accident. Had luch at a local cafe and they serve and sell their breads. Best gluten free bread ever thank you.

Such an excellent bakery! The onion tartlets are extremely addictive. The scones are huge and light - and full of fruit! Sourdough and granary breads are delicious! Always friendly service!

Very well kept bakery, spotless and pleasant staff. Offers all the usual foods you would expect in Devon, their pasties are delicious, closes 3pm though which is a shame.

They do a nice spicy scotch egg with soft centre. Ugly bun was very nice too.

I cannot reccommend Porsham Cakes highly enough. Tanya is a true professional and a pleasure to deal with. She did our daughter's wedding cake last year and my birthday cake this year and both were absolutely delicious - especially the fruit cake.

Tan is such an incredible baker and I knew just who to turn to when we decided we were getting married. Communication was excellent and just everything about the process was no stress! We went through what we wanted and what design we were after and my god did Tan deliver! I still can't quite get over it! Tan's decorating took our cake to another level: throwing in a few secret design ideas to surprise my husband which made him cry and really made everything that much more special. She managed to incorporate our little dog and cat who had both passed away in the last year and honestly made both our hearts sing! My mum who's not a big fan of cake couldn't stop eating this! We all had big portions, everyone came back for seconds and it was a really big talking point at the wedding, plus we got to stuff our faces with leftovers the next day. If you're getting married, having a birthday or just want cake look no further. Tan is such an incredible woman and baker and knows just how knock it out of the park!

I was absolutely thrilled with the wedding cake Tan did for us. She really took the time to listen to what we wanted and the cake was more than we could have imagined. It tasted delicious and I couldn't help but have a slice in the morning too. Thank you so much for all your hard work Tan!

Really delicious, well made and presented cakes and brownies. I specifically asked for the Brownie for my birthday and it was just as perfect as my first bite a year ago. I love their stuff and I just hope this review persuades someone to give Porsham Cakes a go - I am pretty confident you will not regret it and be back for more!

I stayed at Great Bidlake Manor last week and a big, beautiful chocolate cake had been left on the breakfast table for us. I looked at the slip of paper that was next to it and it had “Foxcombe Bakehouse” on it. I’m so glad I was able to see who had made this because I want to give my sincerest thanks! The cake was absolutely delicious. Probably the best chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten. The icing was divine and the sponge was very soft and moist. It was also decorated very nicely on top, as well! It’s clear a lot of care and effort was put into it. Keep up the good work 🙏🏻

The gluten free cake slices are amazing. I had the chocolate brownie today and it was heavenly. Highly recommended.

Quality products, very reasonably priced with no hidden p&p at the end, speedy delivery. Would definitely recommend the all butter ginger biscuits.

The best coffee and walnut cake there is..delicious fresh cake

The cake sponges are far too oily and the walnuts on top of the coffee and walnut cake were black where they had got burnt in the oven.
