Great little bakery with lots of treats and sandwiches. Can get a bit busy but the line moves quickly. They only take cash but seems to be the norm here. The baked good were tasty and coffee was good. There’s no parking right by the bakery but a bit further up the hill. There’s ton of free parking.

Very busy place, but very nice pasty. The bakery suffers from its success, as it is overcrowded and there is ticket system to get to the order. Apart from that the pastry is really really nice and typical local style. I would take that ticket and wait another 15 minutes for that lovely portugues sweets. The selection is really wide. They even have plant-based milks for coffees.

You need to taste their bread and a least the most popular pastel de nata. The ladies are friendly and speak good English. Its opening timed are great. Right in the centre of Lagos so you can walk and enjoy the spirit of the cute little narrow streets. Go there early in the morning so you can choose from the full counters otherwise you will miss out! Delicious and worthy for the little amount of money.

No-frills local bakery that opens pretty early and is also frequented by locals. We had ham and cheese sandwiches made with coconut bread that reminded me of Breadtop bread. Very good pasteis de nata.

The best pastries I have ever eaten. Orange roll and roll with nuts melt in your mouth, so delightful. Freshly squeezed orange juice is amazing. Very affordable as well.

Padaria Central | The heart of Lagos in every bite 🌞 Early one morning in Lagos, I wandered through the quiet streets in search of a good bakery. I spotted a crowd outside Padaria Central and figured it must be worth the wait. Inside, the smell was incredible, warm, sweet, and comforting. I stood in line for a few minutes before realizing I needed to take a number 😅. When it was finally my turn, I struggled to choose, everything looked Yummie. I ended up with: 1. 🥧 Pastel de nata – creamy, golden, and just the right amount of crisp 2. 🍩 Custard dough ball – soft, sweet, and filled with smooth custard 3. 🍰 Almond cake – rich, nutty, and perfectly moist 4. 🍪 Raisin round with custard – chewy, fruity, and full of flavor The woman behind the counter was kind and spoke English, which helped a lot. Back home, the kids opened the box and their faces lit up. Padaria Central made our morning feel Yummie 🧁

Yum, yum, yum — 11/10! The best pistachio donut and egg tart I’ve had in all of Portugal (or the world?), much better than pastei de Belem, and Manteigaria as a close second! The pastry is buttery flakey and the filling is flan-like without being too sweet or eggy! The donut’s pistachio cream is what my dreams are made of 😂 Service is fast and efficient, and mostly takeaway and cash only. Would 100% recommend on your Algarve journey. Bonus: Black and white coffee serves great coffee (I like them strong, with milk)

Absolutely loved this place! The desserts are outstanding – especially the pastéis de nata with different fillings. The coffee is rich and flavorful, perfectly matching the sweets. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service is fast and efficient. On top of that, the atmosphere is beautiful and cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy.

Delicious veggie buffet. Includes soup, salads, various cooked items & fresh fruit for dessert - all for only 8,90 euros. Best selection of cakes in the Algarve. My husband had one of the dishes of the day, which was a large grilled dourado with a good selection of vegetables for 11,50. Our favourite cake is chocolate & strawberry.

Beira-Mar is always a must-visit for us whenever we’re in Portugal – and for good reason. It’s extremely popular and always busy, but the wait is never long, and the fact that it’s full of locals says it all. The pastries are truly to die for, all freshly prepared with incredible quality. We enjoyed a cheese and ham croissant with coffee and juice – the croissant was almost brioche-like, soft and buttery, but not too sweet. My partner couldn’t resist trying the almond croissant afterwards, and it was absolutely divine. The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, the space is spotless, and while it’s self-service, the staff still provide excellent support with a smile. If you’re in the area, don’t miss Beira-Mar. It’s the first place we head to every time we come to Portugal, and it never disappoints.

Great authentic Portuguese patisserie. This team has been running here for decades, and always serve crispy, fresh bakery with a smile. All is done with quality, from the coffee to the cakes to the tidiness of the place. You can't go wrong with any selection here. Decent price too, considering you're next to the beach.

It is a good place to have your breakfast and/or your brunch. Nothing outstanding but general good quality food and drinks. Good selection for all needs. They have oprions for all type of diets. Lactose free, Gluten free and so on. Nice terrasse area with a good mix of direct sun and shade. Service is pleasant and the atmosphere is ok. However, it is quite a big place, so don’t expect a very personal experience than any of the other small corner places.

I always try to say something nice but it was really hard on this one. The only good thing I can say is the waitress was nice. I can honestly say it was the blandest breakfast I've ever had on a vacation, just dry and tastless. The juice was mostly ice cubes. I did however think the pastries looked yummy so I decided to get two for later on. I went to the counter and another waiter described to me what they were and I was very clear on which ones I wanted since I have food sensitivities. I even pointed to the ones I wanted to make it very clear. He told me to go pay and they would pack them up while I paid. They handed me a little white box and I assume all is well. So now when I went to open it and have a little late night snack...I see it's the wrong one. I understand there is a language barrier but how can you have a conversation and point at what you want and they still get it wrong? I can't eat it so strait in the garbage, super disappointing 😕

Large and lively cafe restaurant in the pedestrian downtown of Faro. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was a little understaffed when I visited but they did a good job. Very good food that looks beautiful! Creative and ample dishes. Probably the best breakfast in town if you look for more than coffee and pastries. And good prices!

We were really disappointed with the service, it felt like total chaos. We waited 20 minutes just to get our drinks and then another 50 minutes for our food, which was just a simple toast. The staff had no structure and seemed unorganized. You could clearly see the same frustration at other tables. I still give 3 stars because the food itself was good.

Dont know why so low ratings because this place was great! We had Shakshuka and bacon and eggs pancakes and it was so good. Atmosphere was great spilling onto cute laneways to sit. The treats look insane and we will be getting a few for the road. Definitely recommend

Good in theory, not in execution. Food looked decent at first glance, but then after waiting 10 minutes for cutlery (and asking almost every member for some cutlery and being blanked) the food was cold. The poached egg was overdone and comparable to the inside of a bouncy ball. Looks nice in the photos but mid as hell.

I had a croissant that was very dry, tasted burnt on the outside and seemed to be already old. But my companion, however, had a piece of almond tart, which he liked very much. He said it was moist, crunchy and delicious. Overall, though, this is more a reflection of my perception, hence only 2 stars. The service was also rather annoyed with us and not very welcoming. I would personally not come back.

Great pastel de nata - particularly if one is very invested in the custard rather than the pastry. The custard had a tinge of cinnamon 15/10. Pastry could have been a little more crumbly but was fire too I can’t lie. Good vibe in here too and nice and cool on a hot day.

The pastel de nata was delicious, fresh and still warm with cinnamon. The pastry my son chose was also very tasty. I will definitely be back for another.

The service was awesome, the staff spoke English and Spanish, and they really went out of their way to help us. And the prices? Crazy cheap! Four of us got 4 huge orange juices, 3 coffees, 3 ham & cheese croissants, 3 pastel natas, and an empanada – all for 27.80 euros! Seriously, no typo, that cheap.

Definitely the best bakery in the Albufeira. There was a bit of a queue so you knew it was going to be good. Incredible value as the portion sizes were great, and a coffee and four pastries cost €7.50. The pastel de nata were fantastic and really well filled. As well as having the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever eaten. Must try place if you’re looking in the area.

Had to find a last minute birthday cake and Pão da Aldeia came up trumps. Great selection of cakes to purchase on the day. We bought a beautiful chocolate cake with fresh blueberries and strawberries on top. Absolutely delicious, not too rich and not over sweets and the price with candles as well had been more than reasonable. The young lady who served us had been very helpful. The safe are a delight 😊

This Pastelaria was really close to where I was living and I had gone there so many times during my visit. Great food, great prices and excellent service! Much much better than a lot of overpriced restaurants nearby. Try the English breakfast or the variety of Salgados.

A perfect stop off for a drinks and goodies. A little gem. Staff are brilliant and very friendly. Cakes to die for. Opens early and closes late. I recommend the Irish Coffee.

The only upset point in my Portugal trip. Terrible service in short. Ordered an orange juice which was pre-made and poured over ice. Within 15 seconds I noticed a fly in the drink. When I pointed it out, staff oddly asked if it just flew into it as it is "freshly" made. After clarifying that I was standing inside the shop the whole time (15 seconds), they said it’s “normal” to have a fly and does not really care. Their only remedial action was to use a spoon to scoop it out—slightly better than nothing, but still unacceptable.

Local pastelaria. I found their marzipan overpriced 1,65EUR for 1 piece which was nothing exceptional to my taste. The Pastel de Nata were ok. They only except cash payment.

We stopped here for some pastries on a weekday in February. I ordered the pastel de nata, which was okay but didn’t seem to have as much cinnamon or vanilla flavor as others I’ve had in Portugal. We also tried a meringue-based dessert that looked great but ended up being too sweet for us to finish. That being said, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely outstanding, which made the visit a pleasant experience. It’s possible that we simply ordered items that aren’t their specialty. While the pastries didn’t quite meet our expectations, the welcoming atmosphere made it a nice place to stop by.

Super friendly staff! the pastel was so delicious rich sweet custard and and flaky crust as delicious as the big brand name ones in Lisbon and porto also the cinnamon are on the table so make sure you spot them and sprinkle some on top of your pastel it will definitely make a very delicious difference also the prices are really adorable !

Great little brunch spot with a cool vibe a short walk out of the main town area. Quite busy no need to queue for a table. Had a yummy avo on toast. Plus tried the cottage cheese pancakes whilst small were filling and much lighter then I was expecting.

Super good breakfast/brunch to start the day! 🍽️ We ate here twice since it was so good! The scrambled eggs came with two toast one with avocado on it, and the eggs were amazingly done! We also ordered the benedic waffles and they were also such an amazing combo! The sauce was perfect and the waffle very soft! Also coffee is great! ☕️ The only thing to prive maybe is that it was a little bit stuffy, but the rest was amazing!

The place has really good coffee. It has complex flavor, highly recommended. The food is beautifully presented and they also taste amazing. The staffs are super helpful and friendly, and the place looks really cute inside, with lots of plants and cute decorations. We come here on a Sunday lunch and it was super busy, so if you come at brunch time then expect some waiting time to get a table. Overall we had a good experience, and certainly will come back for the coffee.

the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the avacado toast and bacon. the eggs benedict with the prosciutto was a first for me, but was amazing. the eggs are top notch, and revealed a golden orange colour when cutting into them. super cool surf vibe inside. would love to come back and try the roasted cauliflower lunch meal.

This is a cafe you have to try! Today I had a burger and a chai latte and wow, the burger was absolutely delicious! Juicy, flavorful, and made with top quality ingredients. Another favorite of mine is the avocado toast with an extra egg. So good! And a special shoutout to the lovely barista Rabina, who introduced me to their amazing chai coffees. Thanks to her, they’ve become my go to!

The Café and food was excellent! Especially the avocado salmon sourdough! I have never eaten one this perfectly tasting, 12/10, would recommend! On top of that the personnel was extra friendly, wonderful to chat with them! Well deserved tip!

I read a review so I had a high expectation for this cafe. Cake is good but average quality and price is slightly high which is like a Lisboa price. We are from Lisboa so we had a much better and less price before. 3 mini cake 0.9€ each, latte 1.40€, Cake 1.25€, pastel de Nata 1.25€. Waiters are quick and organized behind the counter which is very good service.

Very nice pasteleria to stop for coffee, pastries or lunch. But lunch is posted in one menu chart in a corner so look for this. Friendly, fast staff and helpful. Very clean and an obvious local establishment which seals the deal!

The service was so slow, we were waiting more than an hour and the food was not well cooked.

Good place to grab a quick bite. The sandwitches we ate were fresh and the price we paid for them was appropriate considering the airport markup. The coffe and the desserts were also fine, however, the pastel de nata was not crunchy/fresh. The service was a mixed bag, some staff was overly nice and friendly, but some looked like they are on their third prison sentence.

Low quality of coffee. Disappointed with the coffee quality. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and paid over 5 euros, but it didn’t live up to expectations. The milk foam was airy and lacked that smooth, silky texture — too much air was introduced when steaming. For the price, I expected better execution.

This is the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. 10 euros for a stone.. I'm seriously. Their bread is so dry that it could break glass. Now I can attend as the head name in Jaws trying to eat meal. We bought 4 sandwiches. Worst money ever spent. My daughter choked on the dry bread.. It took her over an hour to finish a quarter sandwich.. Tried to fix my sandwich with 3 tubes of mayo. Never have I ever had such a dry bread and chicken. SO BAD 👎!!!!

Frankly I don’t understand why some people have to run down everything on reviews. Paul here is super friendly despite the stress they have. Yes costly, but for the ones looking for cheap there is always an alternative. Coffee was excellent, so was the raspberry tarts.

Delicous food. My 6 year old said "its tasty and lovely outside". We sat by the terrace out back. She had a kids hamburger that was massive. The white sangria was lovely and refreshing. We tried different pastries (all the meat ones) and they were all delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced The pastel de nata are amazing . 100% worth the journey from old town. Luis our server was very kind and nice. Great service!

I visited this store twice whilst visiting Albufeira. On the first occasion I got the lemon meringue pie was was sublime, definitely an easy 10/10. On the second occasion I got the caramel slice with a chocolate milkshake, the milkshake was great but the caramel slice for a cake that costs over 4 euros a piece wasn't great, quite flavourless actually. I wish I'd got the lemon meringue on both occasions as that was definitely a winner.

After reading the comments, I knew I had to try their cakes. We came late on a Sunday night but they still had a lot of choice. Different ice cream choices, full cakes, pie slices, cake slices and hot salty pies as well. Took the chocolate cake to go. 4€ the piece. And oh my goodness. It was heaven. Moist, sweet but not too sweet, creamy and the taste is peculiar resembling chocolate and caramel. Definitely worth the price! The people working there were also very kind. We communicated in Portuguese. Edit. We came back to try their ice cream. 2€80 per scoop. I had the banana and chocolate one and it was very creamy with big pieces of chocolate - almost too big. And the quantity was bigger than a scoop. Very happy.

This food was awful. Everything tasted like it was straight from the grocery store, frozen aisle. We tried the mozzarella sticks, the chicken nuggets, the chicken, wings, steak sandwich, and the bifana. All bad. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but people have to know. Didn’t try the dessert but that looked pretty good.

Terrible food. Terrible coffee. They keep there cakes and tarts for 10 DAYS before throwing it out! Then still asked me to pay for stale lumpy, CHEWY lemon meringue! Not a single local server! DO NOT SUPPORT. DO NOT EAT HERE.

I had coffee several times here but what disappointed me was their Aperol spritz. It was like a Fanta with no gas. No flavour at all. I complained about it several times and didn’t drink but still ended up paying 7€ or so. Never gonna come back there. Too expensive and bad quality.

The setting is nice, with a large terrace, music, and sports on TV. However, the food could be better and the portions are small, despite higher prices than other local cafés. In my opinion, it’s more of a tourist spot.

Perfect food spot with lovely and polite staff. Nice outside seating area. This was our place every morning for tasty and affordable breakfast. For €7 you getting Gaia Breakfast: scrambled eggs, couple of toasts, butter, freshly pressed orange juice, coffee and their custard tart - yummy and fills you up. Also great lunch deals. For €11 you got starter, main, sweet and coffee - especially pork cheeks option for main that is local full of flavour taste. Fully recommended👌

The place seems ok but don’t eat the menu del día. The worst rice I’ve ever had. Look at the watermelon presentation, super very tiny portion and with spoon? waiters are super cool and helpful btw

Amazing pastel de natas! We tried a few through Faro but these were the only ones that we found that were warm. Service was great and had a nice atmosphere sitting out in the sun. Will definitely be going back next time im in Faro

We got the tomato on toast and tomato and mozzarella on toast. The tomatoes were sooo nice fresh, really nice light breakfast. We tried the famous Nata desert here which was okay and an eclair which was good. Coffee was great too. Will come back to try the almond croissant they look so tasty. Great prices too! Ate for €12 for two.

After dinner, I wanted to go to a bar and I walked past here and thought why not?! I ordered a beer and it was only 1€ for a pint of ice cold beer!!! I couldn’t believe it. This was the cheapest beer that I had on my whole journey through Portugal!! I would highly recommend this place if you want to get drunk for cheap 😂😂😂

Traditional pastry shop from a family owned business. I tried many of their sweet pastries and salty tarts together with coffee or tea and they were really good. Drinks are average though. A bit pricey but worth it. Of course they also have the traditional pastel de nata. And the staff was also very friendly and welcoming (the lady and gentleman).

Where do I begin… came for a breakfast with my boyfriend and got English breakfast (that was the first mistake) we gave it a go and I would rate it a 3/5 only because you can’t go too wrong with eggs, bacon or beans. These carried the meal. The mushrooms however, were respectfully, the worst tasting fungi I have had in my life. They tasted like they had come from a can and the sausages weren’t any better…. Very disappointing because how can you mess up a mushroom? Moreover, this English breakfast had no hash browns (my favourite part), so it felt incomplete. My boyfriend ordered a chicken salad with fruit. This was not any better than the breakfast. The chicken lacked flavour and tasted like it had also come from a can, the pineapple did not seem fresh the kiwi and apple probably saved the dish. For a salad, there was no seasoning whatsoever and it was dry. The best thing about this place were the drinks which were definitely fresh and the customer service. Our waiter was extremely kind and even cracked some jokes with us. Overall, I don’t think I could eat here again.

We ordered a latte (galão), an Americano, and two natas — one of them was almond-flavored, though I’m not sure of its exact name. The almond nata and the latte were absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend visiting this local bakery. The toasts are tasty but a bit ordinary — it would be great if they added a more local touch. I’d suggest trying something else on the menu instead of the toasts. In terms of price-performance, there are definitely more satisfying options available here.

If you’re looking for a bakery in Carvoeiro, Padaria Fabrica Velha is the one and only choice. Be prepared to wait in line if you’re ordering takeaway, but if you choose to sit inside, you’ll usually find a free table quickly and can enjoy perfect sweet pastries along with excellent fresh juice, coffee, and toasted sandwiches. The staff are in great spirits, with a few friendly waitresses, and the prices are excellent.

Best pastel de nata in Carvoeiro! Highly recommend their pastries. A local suggested this place, so I stopped by for just one pastel de nata — it was so good I went back the next day with a friend. We ended up trying a variety of their treats, and everything was absolutely delicious (and super fresh).

Large amount of cakes and other tasty pastries! The price is good! But it is also a bit further away from the beach and the central part of the town. Communication was quite hard, even the sign is partly in English they did not understand it what was strange since the rest of the town was good in English. Even when they said yes we will give you an americano they delivered it with milk. The place to sit was not that special and the seats are ok at best. Cakes are really great! Sad that the people were not so friendly.

Get your translate app ready- there are no menus in English and the staff had a hard time understanding English. I’ve uploaded menus of what Google translated for me. Mostly bread that can be toasted with ham or cheese or something from the case. The pastel de nata was yummy. The apple fritter was delicious. The croissant tasted more like bread than a butter croissant. My wife has a thing for croissants and tries them everywhere. I thought I’d brought her to the right place- they are huge! But to her disappointment, they didn’t hit the spot. Prices were great. The huge croissant was only 1 Euro

Wow! The best traditional sweets I’ve ever had. The flavors and pastries taste just like the ones our grandmothers used to make. The staff is very friendly. Torta de Claras is my favorite. Just love it!

We heard from a taxi driver that this pastry shop is quite old and offers delicious traditional desserts. We had pumpkin cake, chocolate cake and an egg pudding. They were very sweet, especially the pumpkin cake and the pudding. The interior was small and cozy with a few small tables. If given sufficient time I would try more varieties of their desserts.

Highly recommend! Such a beautiful little coffee shop. We tried quite a few pastel de natas in Portugal and this place was THE BEST we have ever tasted! We tried to come back again on our way to the airport and sadly, they did not make pastel de natas on Sundays so come on another day if you can. The coffee and hot chocolate were also good and the staff were super friendly! I will definitely come back to Portugal just for these goodies!

An old school bakery where you can see the staff cutting the fruit they will use on the pastry. The decorations, the staff, the "no-wifi" set-up, and the furniture gives you the perfect experience. We had a house tea, which tasted amazing. As for the cakes, the selection is too vast to give suggestions, so just go and choose what your eyes want to have. Enjoy!

A must try when in Alvor. Came here three times in our week here. Was mentioned to us by friends who have a holiday home in Alvor. The cakes and pastries and cooked fresh everyday and are out of this world some of the best pastries I have ever had. First day I had a toastie, very reasonably priced at €3.50 compared to many of the surrounding cafes/restaurants. Have gotten the chicken and tuna salad on other days which are the perfect portion to leave some space for cake afterwards. Had fresh orange juice which was lovely. Tried the Maciccino which was a delicious and sweet coffee similar to ones I had when travelling Vietnam. I have attatched pictures of the menu and food which I tried. 10/10 would recommend!! 🌞🌸

Great little place for a morning coffee or a bit of brunch. That's what we did anyway. You can go there any time for some really nice, fresh food, which is all made and prepared on the premises by hand, including the bread and pastries! It can be a little busy but turnover of customers is often quick enough that you don't have to wait long. People seems to move tables and chairs around to suit, so slightly larger numbers are also OK. Nice coffee, smoothies, pastries. Off the food menu I had the breakfast bagel - twice (different days though). I also had a breakfast, which I took a rather good photo of. The bagel was a sesame seed bagel. inside were sausage, bacon, egg and cheese. It was amazing. Every mouthful... that's why I had it twice! The breakfast was good too. The family tried salmon, avocado and egg. Also, a ham and cheese croissant. All were really good. Oh and the yoghurt, salad and muesli bowls are good too. Big portions in a big bowl. Might have been granola type stuff though and not muesli. My only slight niggle though - service is slloooooww. They are often busy and everything is fresh, so maybe I need to be more patient. I am not one for sitting around chit chatting, forgetting I ordered food because the coffee is so good and the company is fantastic. I get in, order, eat and leave. Actually there is one more niggle. If you sit near the open window or door, be prepared to have cigarette smoke wafting in your general direction, while you eat. Although those who still smoke sit outside, the breeze, if you are lucky enough to have one when it is stinking hot, will carry the smoke inside. It's a bit like sitting on the top deck of the number 5 bus years ago, as a kids - thinking that the stench of burning nicotine all around you, in your lungs, impregnating your clothes and skin is normal. OK, not quite and I digress. If someone is smoking outside, don't sit near the window, unless you want to experience their après-coffee gaff while you eat. The owner and staff are friendly and service, albeit a little slow (quite slow) is good too - they bring your food and drinks to your table and bring you ketchup and stuff. Nice! This place became our go to stop off for breakfast or a coffee on many mornings during our stay.

Fantastic Bakery with good selection of pastries, sandwiches and drinks. The owner and his staff make everything in-house. We tried a couple pastries and coffee and no complaints, definitely going back again in this trip. One of the best bakeries we have been while visiting the Algarve. We got to bakery late morning and some items already sold out, very busy bakery so get there early. The Almond Croissant was my favourite, baked fresh that morning and great taste.

I had a wonderful experience at Doçaria Água Mel in Alte, Portugal! The staff are incredibly, incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. We met the lovely lady of the bakery and she explained every delicious food they had on the menu. The food we chose (some little chocolate, pasta de nata, local cake and sandwiches) were of good quality and we enjoyed it with a beautiful view! The best you can get in Alte.

This croissanteria is truly a hidden gem in Lagos. This is the place to come if you want to escape the usual tourist restaurant and have affordable breakfast/brunch/lunch. The chicken croissant is flavourful thanks to a ‘secret’ sauce. The sauce really gels the protein with the rest of the meal. The open ham and cheese toasties is also highly recommended. It’s like eating a pizza but on a toast instead. If I could recommend one thing, a bit of spicy kick in the toasties would make the dish go further.

We had alfaroba pie, hot chocolate and a slice of their red velvet cake. I highly recommend the red velvet cake. The frosting is so good and less sweet and the cake is moist!

They have the best almond and pumpkin cake and fig cake. Just indulgent. They do take away and eat in. Service is good!

They have a good selection of cakes, pastries and other savoury snacks, but the place is chaotic. We stood in a queue and people who arrived after us got served first??? There were 5 people working but getting the food took a while. We ordered hot dog, which didn’t really come hot, it looked like a sausage straight from a jar, that’s how pale it was, not grilled or anything. The pasties were quite tasty, but again came cold, would have been so much nicer heated up. So overall it has potential but on this occasion came short.

Lemon meringue pie looked great but was so stodgy and had no citrus in it. Getting such a classic cake wrong I wouldnt try anything else from here.

A great place to have dessert! And apparently one of the oldest in town too. I tried their Dom Rodrigo which is a traditional Portuguese dessert made with eggs and cinnamon. Delicious!! I thought it had grated carrots or something, it didn’t taste like egg at all. But really really good. I also had a shot of the traditional liquor called Medronho which I’d been wanting to try(and also one with honey), and the person at the counter was kind enough to tell us about it too! Overall a good experience. :)

Beautiful little Pastelaria in typical portuguese style. We went there to try different portuguese pastry and it was an interesting experience. Some were very delicious, other not our taste and something to get used to. The scones and the chicken pie were our favourites (Of course Pastel de Natas would be on the list as well, but they did not have any). The pastries are a bit pricey unfortunately. To our surprise, it was not so busy as we have expected, after seeing all the reviews and recommendations.

This is a lovely place for a relaxing coffee and breakfast overlooking the ocean and beach. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. The coffee is good and they do a great bacon sandwich (although I don’t think it’s actually on the menu). Prices are reasonable for what you get considering the location. We visit regularly when on holiday in the area.

We visited for breakfast on a Wednesday morning in April. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff were lovely. The food was good but there is a bit of a delay bringing it out. Coffee is great. Update: We visited 2 days later, sadly it was a very different experience. We waited 25 mins for our coffees and 45 mins for our food. They did offer a 20% discount however. The atmosphere was a bit tense because other tables were also complaining about the service, we were on the verge of walking out when our breakfasts finally turned up.

We went into this cute, little breakfast spot because of the recommendations I found on Google before going to Albufeira. On our 4-days-trip I went there for breakfast every day and can recommend this place by any means. The service was really attentive (for example: we orded a lot of wine the first day. They told us that they usually do not serve this amounts of alcohol and excused themselves for not having this much wine cooled down in the fridge. The next day the young waiter - who was a super nice person - asked me how long we stay in Albufeira and wanted to make sure to have a larger amount of wine cooled down for us). I tried a different breakfast / brunch dish every day and everything they served was in excellent quality. All in all we felt really, really welcome. They were super grateful for the tips we gave them (one time, a young waitress even came back with the money and wanted to hand me „our change“). I can definetly tell: They deserve every penny since they do amazing work and serve good quality food. Their coffee was out of this world by the way. Straight up 10/10 recommendation for this place. Just off the busy Oura streets, in a dead-end road, this family friendly garden cafe (& shop) offers excellent home-roasted 100% arabica coffee, a variety of drinks and an extensive brunch menu with young, kind, international and efficient service. We were a couple for breakfast that had a couple of expressos, juices, sourdough bread with smashed avocado and an egg with extra hash browns, and the best ever breakfast burrito with a delicious spicy relish, all for the very fair €16/pax. We loved it and can’t wait to come back to this pleasant brunch oasis.

Good place to work on a autumn /winter day. I'm sure that the outside part is lovely on sunny winter days. Too bad it was raining... Chilled atmosphere with lots of option for snacks. Very nice pastry shop in a remote part of Alvor (with a free parking next to the roundabout more or less next to the shop). Nice pastries and nice staff at a affordable cost. We tried two of the cakes (red velvet and oreos), both very tasty and fresh. We also shared a strawberry bolas which was very tasty. I recommend this place.

Had a lovely piece of chocolate cake! Be careful if you have allergies though, I have a nut allergy and I had a small reaction due to the nuts surrounding my cake even if mine didn't have them specifically.

One of the best vegan burgers we have ever had! Highly recommend this cute little vegan cafe/restaurant. Great service and the food tasted incredibly fresh. We ended coming back again because the food was so good. Waited a little longer for our order the second time as it was a little busy but very much worth the wait. Recommend the Sriracha Burger or the Sugar rabbit burger. They had some great baked sweet treats inside too!

Excellent food all around. Vegan has never tasted this good, and this is coming from someone who does not enjoy vegan. We are here for a few days in Albufeira and have come here 2 times in 2 days - I will be going back every single day until I leave. This little café quickly became one of my favorite stops on my morning walks in Albufeira. Conveniently located in the Old Town as you head toward the Marina, it’s right on the path of my daily trek from Praia de Oura to the Marina. By the time I reach it, I’m ready for a pause, and the wonderful aroma of freshly baked brownies, cakes, and pastries is impossible to resist. The coffee here is outstanding — they serve Illy, one of my favorite Italian brands, and every cup is consistently rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s the perfect energy boost, and for me, Illy is always a mark of quality. As for the sweets, I instantly fell in love with the decadent brownies and the indulgent chocolate cake. Beyond that, the menu also includes a great selection of vegan and gluten-free options — from colorful smoothie bowls to fresh juices — which makes it a versatile stop whether you’re after a treat or something lighter. The café itself is small but inviting, with a handful of tables on the terrace outside, ideal for people-watching, and additional seating inside. It’s not overly large, but the atmosphere is warm and never feels cramped. All in all, Sugar Rabbit Kaffé is a true gem in Albufeira. Whether you’re passing by on a morning walk, craving an excellent cup of Illy coffee, or looking to indulge in something sweet, it’s well worth the stop.

Quick stop for a coffee and it was good coffee; with a very nice waitress that served us at the table & in a quiet position in Quarteria. Someone next to me had soup & a toastie, it looked really good.

There is a long queue to take away some amazingly beautiful and tasty pastries. Long queue = must be good! And it is! Tables are available both indoor and outdoor.

The best Portuguese egg tarts in town. They are delicious and they have a nice Crispy crust. I highly recommend this place. It’s in the center of the city and you get a nice breeze away from the sun.

This bakery does have the best pastel de nata in Quarteira. I was doubting at first but after trying their pastel de nata I was instantly convinced. The texture of the egg taart is creamy and smooth. It has a strong egg flavor as well, in a way that I love. I would take a dozen of their pastel de nata next time I’m here. It’s a nice place for lunch overall, they have diverse sandwiches and other pastries that you can choose from. The freshly squeezed orange juice is also perfect after a long walk under the sun in the heat as well.

Nice place, good deserts, but they burned the milk in my coffee, I hate that…. I hope they learn not to burn the milk someday. Oh yeah, and they forgot we ordered coffee….

Nice place in the center of Tavira. That’s a long time traditional bakery! We had a delicious breakfast that we enjoyed a lot! We also buy some for the dinner! I really recommend to visit this place!!

Absolutely delicious coffee, the best we've tasted in Tavira! A vast array of pastries, everything you could want and amazing fresh quality! They also do deliciously buttery toast, really nice and if there's a queue it's worth the wait! Americano with warm milk is €1.20 & Coffee with milk/Latte is €1.55! Couldn't recommend the place more! 😍

This is undoubtedly one of the best stocked bakeries in Tavira. There was a young man here that is very friendly and understands English very well. He was also very helpful in choosing new pastries. They have Oat milk! And wifi, that reaches outside. During our visit there was construction so not a great time for outdoor seating but nevertheless, it’s nice to have that option. There were such a nice selection of pastries and savory croquettes. Many almond selections. It’s a nice location tucked away from busy square between a nice fitness gym and popular hotel ! Enjoy

Not been here in absolutely years, still the same friendly staff, great coffee and in house bakery. My family love the cakes and the traditionally baked produce here. It's just so good, reasonably priced and we would go here all the time if we lived in Tavira town. Just so, so good.

It was the birthday of my daughter during our vacation this summer, we tumble upon this amazing bakery, full of sweets and cakes. I highly recommend this bakery. The service was also very helpful, the lady explained all the sweets to us! Thanks again!

We had continental breakfast, which contains toasts, croissant, ham, cheese, fresh orange juice and coffee. Friendly Staff, great service and good food & drink. Very reasonable price. We will be back again during our stay.

This bakery has a lot of outdoor seating and is close enough to be walkable from the beach without completely melting. Unfortunately, the pastel de nata seemed a little stale, with a less than crispy crust. The filling was very good though. I thought the prices were very fair.

Only pastelaria (pastry shop) that showed up on Google Maps. Perfectly adequate pastries (pastel de nata) and an apple muffin and tea (very hot water) and coffee (Americano). They don’t take credit card so bring Euros.

A perfect place for a snack nice selection spotlessly clean and very reasonable I had a BLT and my wife had a ham mushroom omelette couldn’t fault it nice family run business

The drinks and the lunch were great! We really enjoyed sitting here. Friendly staff, especially the mother. We had tuna and club Sandwich which were a lot to eat but very tasty so we managed. Some of us had toastes which were simple, cheap and exactly how we liked them. This place is our favourite.

We found this cute cafe on our last morning in Carvoeiro. It’s along one of the main streets a few blocks from the beach. The eggs Benedict with ham were excellent. It included avocado, which made it even more delicious! The pancakes were yummy, although they don’t have maple syrup, but they do have powdered sugar, honey, or Agave syrup. The orange juice is fresh, and the cappuccino was very good. We would definitely come here again and highly recommend it.

Food 5+, amazing flavours and smells. Big choice, everyone can find something for themselves. Loved the atmosphere, the staff was friendly, smiley and talkative. It's not often to meet such happy people who would keep it so positive in such a busy environment. The place is beautiful inside, clean and tidy. Prices are for every pocket. I will definitely be back there soon.

We loved our brunch/ lunch at Clarice’s. It was hot, we parked and i trailed my family of 5 to this Clarice’s not knowing much about it but hoping it would please everyone and have A/c. My 2 teenage daughters love brunch food. My 8 year old got the adult pancakes- they didn’t disappoint after a short wait ! If we ever visit the area again i would love to go back.

All around great spot. We loved the soufflé pancakes w honey comb butter and the sunrise breakfast burrito and the eggs on toast with Egyptian bread. Staff was great too. Big darkskinned man was so so welcoming and friendly even with the busy morning crunch. Coffee was good. Atmosphere was clean and bright. Highly recommended.

A busy spot you can't reserve so try and get there early. It was busy so service was a little slow but all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We went for the Japanese style soufflé pancakes and scrambled eggs on toast with hash brown. The pancakes were easily the best I've ever had and my wifes eggs were top class too. A must visit for sure!

The food is even better than it looks in the pictures 🤤 the Sunrise Wrap was incredible, beautiful balance of cooked bacon (which I added), the fresh spinach and the seasoning. Staff were lively, fun and very helpful. Food come out quickly and all was so fresh! Definitely recommended!

Exquisite and irresistible ancient conventual sweets and almond cakes,etc,etc. Very archaic methods of payment, insertion of cash through a little slot. Very hard to be heard and communicate with the lady inside due to Covid 19 isolation... Of Extremely good quality but a bit overpriced. Try it once...

Simply fantastic sweets and goodies. Afar from touristic attractions, this place has retained a very traditonal and original flair. Buy some of their yam for your breakfast, it's amazing.

Prices are too high, and they are not serving drinks/coffee/tea anymore, (maybe due to COVID restrictions?) The sweets are always good, but too expensive.

Best place for typical Algarve pastries and sweets, has really nice teas and special licours homemade with some of the area ingredients! Must go!

Delicious cake and local pastries with VERY reasonable price, very sad we only discovered it on our last day…the Charlotte is creamy, airy, perfect balance with the fresh fruits.

We discovered Charlotte's in the final few days of our 5 week holiday. Part of me is pleased I didn't find it on day 1 because I'd be going home 5 stone heavier! An ordinary but extraordinary little bakery making bread,croissants pastille de Nata and other cakes of amazing quality. Not touristy. Very cheap and very fabulous

We found Pastelaria Charlotte last year when we moved to Almancil - it is the perfect stop for tasty treats and beautiful cakes! Wish I had pictures from our latest stop but we ate everything too quickly! The bakers and staff are always so friendly and help us to choose the best of the day!

Delicious and fresh cakes every day! Mr. Militão and team are great pastry cook and nothing better then a warm, crispy and delicious pastel de nata from here, it is in my top 1!
