We drove up to Montreal for one day and then continued on to Quebec City for 4 days. We booked a hotel in the old city to make visiting the historic sites easy. One morning we walked down to Paillard coffee/bakery for breakfast. Huge place with lots of seating. Bakery items on left, the sandwiches etc next and the coffee. Real food further back. We got a ham and cheese sandwich and coffee, we liked it so much that we came back another afternoon for a pastry and coffee. Highly recommended. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Bread and food were finger-licking good! Ordering can be a challenge for first time visitors. But staff are helpful, friendly, attentive and polite and flashing a smile. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The variety of freshly baked pastries and bread made my heart jump out of happiness.

There was a wide variety of items displayed in the showcase — everything looked rich and plentiful. But he croissants were quite dry and hard, as if they had been sitting out for a while. The tarts were better — the crust was nice and crispy, though the custard was a bit too sweet. Heard a lot about this bakery and was excited to try French pastries. Nice selection on display - I ordered a few to share. My opinion - this location it didn’t taste very fresh. Everything tasted a bit old and hard to chew. I’ve had much better croissants at other places. I watched people order sandwiches and service was very slow people waited a long time just to have their sandwich warmed up. Maybe other locations are better? Washroom door didn’t lock so people had to wait with some one watching the door.

What a great spot to grab a tasty pastry and enjoy a cup of coffee. It's busy on weekends early in the day, so be prepared, but it's worth the wait. Weekdays were always a better chance to get a quick table.

The bakery has a nice variety of pastries and breads, and everything I tried tasted ok. The coffee was ok, though nothing special. Seating is a good, and the place can get crowded during busy hours. The pastries and the breakfast sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. I also liked the latte and the staff were so welcoming and nice. Although we couldn't speak in French, they were so welcoming and trying to explain the ingredients in English for us.

It is an ordinary coffe shop and bakery. We came on a Monday morning as tourists for a little breakfast. The baked goods and sandwiches tastes good but they are expensive. The venue is okay not too small or too large. The staff had a little bit of attitude towards us as English speakers. It also takes a bit longer time for them to make our order ready.😕

In 2021 we took a road trip and ended up in Quebec for a time… and discovered this gem of a Boulangerie in downtown. Well, four years later, another road trip, and more top-quality pastries and cakes!!! You can’t really go wrong here, everything sweet, everything savoury, the coffee, teas, all perfection. My only wish is that they still had those reusable shopping bags for purchase!

This is an update: I decided to try the cafe again after my first review. This is an update after a few visits, so now I can say they are improved, and I enjoyed having the mini croissant and new strawberry/raspberry puff pastry. It was crispy at the same time melting in mouth 😊 They don't make my favorite Torsad anymore, but I think I can enjoy the new ones. This used to be my favorite cafe, and I loved their pastries, but it has changed so much that I can't justify the price with the quality anymore. The chocolatine noisette was so wet inside that the whole thing was super soft, giving you the feeling of eating glue. I'm not sure if there has been a change in the management or the bakers, but it is very disappointing to see no one cares about quality anymore.

The coffee and croissant were fine, but neither was quite amazing. Lovely interior but the staff did seem to struggle a bit with moderate numbers. Very polite.

Very good pastry selection. Loved the eclair, and Le Royal chocolate mousse cake. Creme brûlée was mediocre. Staff is OK.

Their dessert case is a work of art, and the iced tea paired perfectly. Can’t wait to go back and try more seasonal creations! If you’re a strawberry lover, this is the place to be.

So glad to have stopped here for some tasty pastries! Highly recommend the pain chocolat and chocolate cookie was decent too for a reasonable price. Bonus that they offer tap water as well. Great service staff too and would highly recommend!

Ever go to a cafe where the food and coffee are so good that you are extra polite just to ensure you will be welcome back? This is that place, the food is amazing and the coffee was superb. I may need to find a reason to live here. Life altering.

Since this bakery was around the corner from my hotel, I went there for breakfast. There were some sweet and savory items in the display and I decided to order a mozzarella baguette. And for a greek style pizza, which was already possible at this time. You order and pay at the counter. The food tasted good and in my opinion it was prepared with fresh ingredients. I also would have liked to eat something something sweet, but I was full. Next time then.

We stumbled upon this bakery and cafe the first night of our stay in Quebec City. We ended up coming back almost every day for breakfast too. The croissants were the best we had in the city, and the staff was very friendly. One lady in particular was always so kind and patient with me as I tried to order in French each day. Pastries and bread are excellent! We came twice and tried the croissant, chocolatine, pain suisse, roulé à l’érable, raisin & nut bread, all amazing! On the savoury side, we tried the sandwiches but were a bit disappointed - even though the ingredients were fresh, they were too thin.

One of the best croissant places in Montréal. Their brioche is tasty as well. I saw they have Matcha parfait. Must try next time!

We went to Fous Desserts for "La semaine du Japon" to try the Japanese desserts. We tried the Flan Matcha and Chouchou Kinako. They were good, but it's not something I would try again. The pastries were not too sugary, but the bean paste kinda put me off from it. However, we then ordered a Mille-feuilles. Well, that was amazing. The custard was so good. It was crispy and flaky.

Perfect place to visit for that morning pastrie/coffee. I have been to a lot of places and sampled their croissants, and this place is a top 5 location in my mind. I always go out of my way to visit. They also have some regular and Asian flavors for ice cream. The Black sesame is always a must, and somtimes they even have Houjicha. Ps. Staff deserve a huge Christmas Bonus! 😉

Came here specifically for the Religeuse and it did not disappoint. I love the texture and the flavour. The outer shell is firm with a bit of a crunch to keep the inner cream from sogging up the dessert. I love the burnt sugar on top and that there is real vanilla extract in the cream. The dessert was not overly sweet or heavy. I would definitely get it again.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a coffee shop. Next door had a weird getting but here was super friendly and helpful. The lady let me try some of their ice creams and the black sesame was so good. The matcha and hojicha you can tell have really tea powder in them. I ordered a chai which they make fresh and is in the another, slight spice side. I also ordered a shot of decaf. I thought they had wifi but they do not so I couldn't work here. They also sell chocolate and pastries which looked and smelled really good.

Great selection of warm drinks. I had the chance to try their hojicha latte with soy milk. They have many vegetarian friendly desserts from macha-almond croissants to yuzu flavored chocolates, Unfortunately apart from drinks and a small selection of sorbets, there weren't any plant-based pastries or cakes. Nonetheless, it's a pretty unique fusion (Japanese-French) to see for a bakery.

Probably the tastiest Croissant ever and the black sesame gelato is unique and nice. Hidden gem.

We tried this café for breakfast and ordered a plain croissant, an almond croissant, Portuguese tarts, and a cappuccino. The croissants were excellent, among the best we had during our trip to Quebec. The coffee was decent as well. It’s probably the most beautifully situated café in the lower town. Situated by a public square and a church, it’s perfect for people-watching or simply enjoying a sunny day.

Very lovely and welcoming staff. The pecan pie slice was huge and just what I wanted. But I couldn't taste the maple in the maple latte, and the apple turnover wasn't anything special, though its shape was cute. Overall very sweet, but I think that's on me for what I ordered.

We tried many cafes and restaurants in this area and were very disappointed and dissatisfied with every one of them besides Cafe La Maison Smith. Their coffee here taste the best, also their customer service is above and beyond compared to other cafes and shops around. Will definitely return to the this cafe.

The menu has cold brew but the staff says there is no (or they haven’t made it in time). Matcha latte is not stirred thoroughly, so there is still a lot of matcha powder as you can see. I prefer the other 2 branches.

If you're looking for a unique coffee experience, Mamie Clafoutis is an absolute gem! Their coffee maker is a work of art, brewing the perfect cup every time, rich in flavor and incredibly smooth. The vibe of the shop itself is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends. Now, let’s talk about the Oh Mon Dieu pastry. WOW. It’s a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth treat that’s unlike anything I’ve had before. The layers, the sweetness, the texture – it’s all perfection in one bite. This pastry alone is worth the visit!

Unique pastries, custards and baked goods are a hallmark of this restaurant! The self-serve concept could definitely feel a bit impersonal, however the staff are very friendly and always happy to help with your order. You can warm up your breads on-site as well - the breads are baked fresh. The espresso drinks aren't bad either. Worth stopping by to try if you're in the area!

The ambiance, design and architecture of this place is top. Really clean, sleek, and modern. They have plenty of bread and dessert options and some frozen also. The chocolatine I ordered from here was so deliciously buttery!

I ordered the bread pudding pastry and the chocolate croissant. Both were very tasty! I would definitely make another visit and try out other options.

After the renovations, the changes are more than architectural. What was once my main place for exercising my spoken French (ordering and chatting with the young and kind staff) is now self-serve with an app, scan the product and checkout with Google pay. Of all the places to go this route, Mamie Clafoutis is the last one I expected. Otherwise it is the same great baked goods and variety... with one exception - the ficelles with blue cheese and walnuts are now refrigerated (I am afraid, this change I literally cannot swallow...)

The bread quality is amazing. You've got other options to bake at home or just for a sweet snack. You also have options to drink: latte, cappuccino, etc. It's such a shame that there's only a small space to sit.

The staff was friendly and the pastries are good. Our visit was disappointing because we were expecting tables and space to eat indoors. There are several boxed sandwiches & desserts too but we were expecting a fresher feel all around.

Went for a quick bite on Boxing day. Very little choices as items still being cooked. Selected a Coconut custard bun and a Sesame Ball. Review is on Sesame Ball. The pastry could have been cooked a minute or two longer as the filling was still slightly cold inside. I have had better elsewhere.

You can never go wrong with a good ol' traditional Chinese bakery! This lovely little Chinatown spot features a wide selection of Chinese breads and pastries, all displayed in little self-serve cases. I dropped by around 6 PM, so I was expecting the selection to be pretty sparse and/or stale, but I was quite impressed by (1) the quality and freshness of the remaining bread, (2) the number of options still available, and (3) the number of people who managed to cram into this tiny space. The evening seems to be prime Chinese bakery hour, and it looked like folks were stocking up on desserts for the night and/or breakfast for the next morning. And I can't blame them - the buns all looked absolutely gorgeous. I ended up grabbing a green tea and red bean bun. The bread was super soft and moist, and it was the most beautiful forest green colour. I can't say that I could really taste the green tea, so I imagine most of it was just in the appearance. There was a good amount of red bean filling, and I appreciated that it was subtly sweet...all-around, it was the perfect late afternoon / early afternoon snack after a long day of exploring Montreal.

Nice little pastries to try out in Chinatown. I'm usually not really into these kind of dessert, but those here are really good. There are different kind of pastries to try, either hot or cold, and it really depends on your current taste. For instance, egg tarts are good. They used to have more choice, but it looks like they cut down a bit on what they do. I would recommend, but only if you pass by. It's not worth a detour for.

Delicious sweet buns with a clean, easy service method. Self selection is nice and staff provides easy checkout. The buns are fresh, soft, and tasty. Great selection of options. We tried the curry beef and chocolate filled- yum! Great prices, great food, great service!

Compared to the Chinese bakeries from Vancouver (even at $0.75-$1) more per piece, this is by far the best buns I've ever had (these buns are to the left hand side of the store). There's an abundant filling in every bun and they all taste delicious!! Will definitely need to make another stop before moving on to Quebec City. 5/5 Now, moving on to the right hand side of the store where they sell bubble tea, my daughter ordered a fresh mango and melon slushy, and it was more melon than anything and it didn't stay slushy. It was pure juice after 5 mins. This was a disappointment. 2/5 stars

Amazing Pastries!! Tried few Custard, Almond, Coconut sweet flavors and chicken bun. We went two times back to back to buy more. Reasonable prices. Most of the food is around $2 each. Highly recommend this place for Pastries. Fast services and friendly staff!

We didn’t realize at first that we needed to order the pizza in a separate room rather than at the cashier. We waited for about 30 minutes before figuring it out. What really impressed us was that the staff immediately took responsibility and said it was their mistake — which is rare and very appreciated! They even offered us a free frozen pizza, but we kindly declined. Later, when we decided to get dessert, they didn’t charge us. I haven’t experienced such unique and generous service in a long time. I want to say a big thank you. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was truly outstanding. Five stars from me!

Neat little bakery with lots of bread, pastries and savoury options. I tried one of the sandwiches with Genoa and it was great warmed up. The latte was foamy and excellent. A hidden gem hidden in a neighborhood off the beaten path!

The Pizza Chèvre & Pesto was so good!! Very flavourful and delicious. I was very satisfied with the taste and portion. I would definitely recommend.

Fresh bread, hot pizza and lovely staff. There couldn’t be a more perfect way to start a weekend morning. They also let you know if the sandwich is made the day before and give a discount. The cheese there is really rich and much better than the ones of we have in Ontario.

I have been going to Afroditi for over 25 years I think. One of my favourite strawberry shortcake. Most of their cakes are amazing. At times the older ladies that works there aren’t that “friendly”. The last time I was there, the worker was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find parking spots anywhere.

A staple of park-ex, and of every birthday celebration my family has had for decades. Their tiramisu cake is my personal favourite. The individual cake slices and cookies pair nicely with a coffee in the morning, and are always a hit when I gift them to people for an occasion as well. The bakery itself is stunning and welcoming. I could honestly stay there all day.

I walked into the store around 3:40pm on September 27th to buy a cake and at first everything was fine, I chose a 45$ cake, but before anything was packed and finalized, I politely asked if I could switch cakes. Instead of simply making the change, the worker gave me horrible attitude, acting as if it was a huge inconvenience for me to change my mind. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong, like I wasn't allowed to want another cake. Everything in the store is high quality especially their cakes, but the worker was completely unprofessional even though it should've been a simple purchase.

The best pastry store in Montreal. Always fresh. A wide choice of pastries like eclair, Chou, lemon tart, etc. They offer also dessert à la carte which they change seasonly. They have one dessert which is the best of the best made with cafe, chocolate and pistachio (in the photos) offered usually in December but last year they didn’t put it in the menu, I hope this year they will put it. They have also viennoiseries, I live their financier especially the vegan one. In summer they have frozen pops, I love the one with pistachio. Their grilled cheese sandwich is delicious. Service is convenient and fast. I would put the improvement point in the Christmas Yule log which are very repetitive every year it is the same selection, it is good to change them this year. Other than that it is a gorgeous place. Would definitely recommend it.

The pastries are very small and pricey, but the ingredient's high quality and taste make up for it. I was amazed with their squash cake, it was extremely moist and had nice spices in it. The maple financier also was delicious, you could really taste the pure maple in it. I highly recommend taking their citrus tart if you like key lime. Also, very courteous staff.

This place is by far one of the most unique places I have ever been to. The pastries and desserts are out-of-this-world! The combinations of the different flavors and textures are a curious delight~ Wpuld definitely recommend this place if you're planning a trip to Montreal!!

It‘s a nice place to have brunch. I went here on one Saturday. The dishes of this restaurant are very special. The bacon, egg and the mushroom one is very tasty. And this was my first time to try the flower salad. I heard that its chocolate desserts are very good, will come and try next time.

This is an incredible pastry shop with two exceptional owners who care deeply about their products and people. We have been coming here since 2015 and it is undoubtedly our favourite dessert shop in all of Canada. The products are freshly-made with exceptional local ingredients. The menu changes seasonally, so you can visit often and discover new items and flavours. We love the kouign amanns, anything with cereals and grains, and anything with local ingredients that the chef will spotlight. We are extremely sad to hear about their closure at the end of summer 2022, but you must visit before then if you can. This patisserie will be a reference point and standard of excellence for pastry shops in Canada forever.

If you ever have the chance to sit down, do order the Vert - a strange combination of granité, apples, herbs and white chocolate - but one whose flavours blend together and compliment each other wonderfully. The flavours of éclaires change every season, a must try every single time.

Amazing spot! I discovered this place while driving past, and loved what I tried! The chocolate chip cookies have (for me) the wrong balance of chocolate (too much) but the scones were absolute perfection in sweetness and texture! I can’t wait to come back to try more things! It seems like ordering online in advance is the best way to go to ensure selection as I can guess it’s all made fresh!

A little bakery filled with wonderful goodies for a very reasonable price! I loved the cheese crown and the apple cake, but found rugelahs to be a bit too sweet (even though I've got such a sweet tooth!). Still, I'd love to go back to try other items! The servers were not friendly or helpful - they looked rather bored/tired. Could it be that I annoyed them because I obviously didn't fit in + wanted to ask questions? I wonder.

My wife and I discovered a sweet slice of heaven while we were exploring Rue Bernard in Outremont named, Boulangerie Cheskie. This small bakery was full of customers patiently waiting to be served by the friendly staff behind the counter. There was a huge variety of baked goods and pastries to choose from, but our biggest problem was trying not to buy everything in the store because it all looked so delicious. We finally settled on some eye-catching Cheese Muffins and a decadent Chocolate Babka. These delicacies were absolutely scrumptious and we will definitely be returning for some more heavenly delights.

The chocolate covered cheesecake was 10/10 for us. We haven’t had time to try the rest, but we bought 3 mini cheesecakes, 2 large cookies, a big loaf of brown bread and a large chocolate cone filled with whipped cream $23 very reasonable imho

This is by far our favourite bakery in Montreal. It was an awesome experience bringing Chris “The Babka King” in for some delicious treats. We tried a lot of different desserts. The one that is our absolute favourite is the Chocolate Russian Babka.

It wasn't very busy when I visited on a week day. So walking in the market was relatively easy. It is very clean and modern. Bought some alcohol, biscuit and cupcake, hot sauces, cured pork, strawberries and tried a hotdog. There are cheese vendors, smoked meats, pizza, baklava, and a Lebanese restaurant. The market also hosts what seems to be a culinary school. Washroom are available, so is free WiFi. Free parking for first 2 hours which is enough. Visit here if you want a from the touristy old Quebec city.

Out of the way large marketplace with very fresh local produce. Great options for locals to buy fruit and vegetables but few places to actually eat. Catered mostly to locals with some speciality vendors for tourists.

This place was such a fun stop on our visit to Quebec! We had an Airbnb booked so we needed some food for a few days! This was absolutely perfect! They had great meat and seafood selection, eggs, butter, cookies - everything you need for a few days of meals! Highly recommend this stop!

Last minute shopping for family gifts, we bought Joe smoked meat, duck pate and geese pate, brie cheese, happy shopping but one small problem had happened with one of my friends, she used the toilet for disability and forgot her purse in there, when she came back looking for it , luckily she found her purse, her phone , her credit card and driver license still in there but all her cash gone. We are in the rush to go back Toronto (9hours of driving) and it’s almost 3pm so we just left couldn’t stayed to report to security for camera check. A little sad and disappointed but we found all the things we need to buy.✅

Pastry is very tasty. Coffee is good too. They also sell some local jam. Ambiance is welcoming and relaxing. Parking on the street is relatively easy to find on weekdays but a little hard on weekends.

The pain au chocolate was simply out of this world! And the banana bread as well! What is their secret? I'm from out of town but have to go back next week - I'm going to order a dozen and freeze them! We have great croissants here in Montreal but nothing like this! Service is also wonderful!

We visited this bakery, and I have to say they have an amazing variety of pastries, bread, chocolates, and other products—all locally sourced from Quebec! It was great to see such a selection, and the cinnamon roll we had was really tasty. However, we had some issues with the drinks. When we received our matcha, it tasted incredibly watery—it was definitely not their strong suit and quite unpleasant. We also had some trouble with the cinnamon rolls, as they were hard. We had to ask the staff to microwave them a bit to make them edible. When we mentioned the latte was bad and we didn’t drink it, the lady kindly gave us a coffee instead, but that was just as bad. I’m not sure if their machine was broken, but based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place for drinks. The pastries were great, but the beverages need some work.

The food was delicious, but far too oily. I felt unwell after the meal. The price was also quite high $26 for just three eggs with some onion and molasses, and the minimum tip was set at 18%.

Such a delightful experience! The pastries were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious — every bite was a treat. I really enjoyed my latte, and my husband had the chai latte, which was just as amazing. Both drinks were so flavorful and comforting. The whole experience was a wow — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Large variety of bread and ready-made food. Wish the food was made fresh to order, especially for the price. We ordered a Croque monsieur, a caprese sandwich on olive bread, a matcha latte, a chocolatine, and a fancy chocolate pastry. The desserts and breads were definitely a highlight. Would definitely eat here again when I’m back in Quebec City.

When we moved to Montreal, one of our local friend introduced this cute and dreamy pastry in middle of town🥹🩷. For 2&half years the first pastry shop pop up in my mind for birthday cake is here😍. It's local pastry shop and the baker is really kind and friendly woman with big smile and ready to explain and help you to chose🥰. We tried different types of cakes: Classic Chocolate, Orange & Cardemom, Vanilla & Honey, Rose & Vanilla, Lavender & Honey, all of them are so tasty, soft, creamy, the ratio of cake and icing is amazing, their look is cute and dreamy and simple with reach flavors and combination of flavors will be different every time you go there. I personally love other flavors than chocolate cake here. Doesn't have reservation and it's first come first serve and better to pick up cake within first hours of opening to have various choices, her cake is coming in two different sizes which is small and other one is a bit bigger. It's cash only. My friends always love the cakes I bought for their birthdays from here and they always ask for the address😍. Love this shop with all cakes/cupcakes and cute decoration🥹🥰🩷

This bakery is a true hidden gem! It’s been in business since 2005 and I’d been wanting to try it for ages, and now it’s my go-to for cakes. The portions are perfect either for 4–6 people or 10 which makes it so convenient when you don’t need a huge cake. The owner is incredibly sweet (she even offers a candle!), and the prices are extremely fair. Everything tastes homemade in the best possible way. Highly recommend!

After moving across the city, I found myself back in the neighborhood a few months ago—and suddenly, I remembered the unforgettable chocolate chai cake! SIMPLY THE BEST. The texture, the flavors—absolutely perfect. Today was my son’s 17th birthday, and that memory came rushing back… so across town I went, hoping for a slice of nostalgia. And there it was—serendipity! The last two traditional chocolate cakes (not chai, but still divine). THANK YOU, BEAUTIFUL SOUL, for continuing to make magic. ♥️

I got two chocolate cakes for a special occasion and they were absolutely delicious. One was regular, one was chai (ginger + cardamom). The crumb was so tender, and the icing was just the right amount of sweet. These are some of the best cakes I’ve ever had, and they are affordable ($10 for small, $25 for large).

Wow! I love rima! But I might love her chocolate cupcakes a little more haha! The quality and just everything was amazing! I have not found chocolate cake as good as this anywhere else in a very long time. Must try if you're a chocolate cake lover.

Charming little place, owner is very welcoming and kind. Shop opens at 12 so make sure to get there early, as she tends to sell out fairly quickly. I went once at 1pm and everything was sold out. Tried out the small chocolate cake and it was rich and delicious! Definitely a place worth checking out that offers various cakes, cupcakes & brownies.

Visited this place on Wednesday July 12 and I don't think I'll be coming back (wasn't my first time)... I get way out of my way to go there and even though their bread is nice, the lady who runs it is not kind or "sympa" at all.

Bought a multigrain sandwich loaf on 28/9/21. Sadly, got into it the next day, but that's where the sadness stopped, because if it tastes this good after sitting a day, I wish I'd gotten to it sooner. Incredible crust and crumb. A bakery not to be missed!

Great little bake shop, but be warned raisin bread is made on alternating days. We saw raisin bread and decided to pick up a load the next morning for breakfast. To our dismay hazelnut bread had taken it's place.

Worst experience in Quebec City. First the Saint-Severin bread. It did not taste like freshly baked this morning. It was as hard as a rock. Second, bad business practice. The bread cost 5.75 CAD. I was going to charge that to my visa card but owner told me cash only. I thought I saw a sign on the cashier machine that minimum charge for credit card is $5. Since I don't read French, I assumed the store only takes cash. Because I didn't carry enough Canadian dollars I offered to pay in USD. Unfortunately I only had a US$20 bill. Owner gave me 14.25 CAD in change. I knew he overcharged me because today's exchange rate was 1USD = 1.3CAD. He should have given me CAD20 in change instead of 14.25. I understand I may have inconvenienced him by paying USD but again charging me 1CAD for 1USD is not very decent. I am sure he knows USD is a stronger currency and worth 30% more. I was on holiday and didn't want to argue but this is such a bad business practice. I would rate this place zero if I could given the combination of the bad tasted bread and the over charge.

Great place for gelato and bread. The menu is average priced even though I never ate a meal there. The bread is not always fresh. I bought bread one day and it was heaven, the next day I bought more of the same and it was stale.

The shopkeeper always makes my day: he has a great selection of amazing bread and gives the best advice on what it goes well with. I always feel like I'm getting something special here.

I personally do not like their breads, but their croissants are the ABSOLUTE BEST in Québec City. They are simply decadent and authentically French.

When I went there, there were two lines: one for people eating on the premises and another line to pickup your food. I was alone waiting in the pickup line for 10 mins and had to go and approach a wait staff myself in order to be served, whereas everyone who arrived after me would be served by the wait staff in the other line. At those prices and such reputation, with so many employees, well....better is to be expected from them. As for the cakes, they were Ok. Nothing to write home about (just generic tasting patisseries that look good, but that are not that special as far as flavours are concerned ). I had better French patisseries in Montreal.

In my opinion it is exquisite pastry. I really can't fault them. Not even when I dined in and had a club sandwich with a perfectly dressed salad that had lettuce so delicate it was a degree away from melting in your mouth. (Can you tell I went more than once on a weekend away trip?). Even their to-go box is fancy, such that I had people dying of curiosity to know what was inside on my flight home. It only made it worst for them when they found out because now we were on a flight out of Montreal at the terminal and you could see them putting in the balance potentially postponing their flight for a day. I really can't exaggerate the pastries. I do fault them on the macaroons. I had a bite of the coconut flavored one and I spat it out. Tasted like butter. That was the one and only that I purchased and didn't give it a second try, I was put off too much.

Pretty French Bakery is nestled in the heart of view Montreal. Fresh baked goods croissants, pastries, macaroons are well crafted by the chefs. Illy coffee and cappuccino compliments the nicely. Breakfast menu is only available on the weekends.

I visited this cafe in several several times!! Desserts and cakes are perfect! But it is actually overpriced. It’s 8.5 dollars per table. And we have been charged for 16 dollars (3 ppl) it’s some kind of service fee. But it tastes really really really awesome!!!

Came for a quick lunch on a weekday. Friendly service, great food, and no rush to finish on a cold afternoon. Some bakery items had sold out, and we were told coming back earlier (8am or so) would get us an almond crossaint.

We went here for brunch and pastries on Sunday morning. They have two lines that you can wait to be seated or wait to buy pastries front the display. I had the hot chocolate which was rich and deep and well presented. I also had the Brunch special which consists of a few choices. I went with the smoked salmon eggs benedict which was a savory dish delight. It was served with fresh fruit, and an amazing slice of French brioche toast alongside mouthwatering melted carmel sauce instead of traditional maple syrup. And if that wasn't enough, I had a canelè which was not too sweet, and a chewy composition, with an apricot taste - different than what I'm used to so it was "okay" IMO. The one star knock is because our food did get served cold because the chef burned herself and had to remake a plate and the staff seem overworked or busy. :(

Lots of yelpers recommend Maison Christian Faure for bakery and cakes. As it is just steps away from my hotel, I decided to give it a try. I am not a fan of sandwich, so this review is not bias at all. We ordered a smoke salmon sandwich and Millie feuille tradition (cake) for our lunch. The portion of the sandwich is kinda small, but comes with lots of chips to fill you up. As a person who don't like sandwich, my first impression was "meh". However, after the first bite, it turns my impression to "wow". The sandwich is so good. Also the cake is impressive, love the overall texture of the cake. I would probably be back for the cake for dessert, the sandwich is great, but small portion.

We stopped one day to get some sandwiches for lunch, then returned the next day to try the breakfast. It was all very tasty, but I think a bit expensive (we aren't local so not sure how much things should cost!) They weren't able to make up a roll with no cheese when we asked, we were just told we could "take the cheese out". The other rolls we got were delicious, as was the quiche. We had the 'quebecoise' breakfast, which was delicious, and we ate out on the terrace which was beautiful, but it came to $75 for 2 people once we had added drinks. Not cheap,but very tasty.

Great place to stop if you're traveling along the north shore of the St. Lawrence. I can always tell when a place is managed and run by people who love what they do. And they really love what they do. Busy. Tables inside and a patio. Good breakfast food and deserts!

We loved this place! We visited twice during our weekend stay, and would have visited a third time, but they were closed on Monday! The staff was fantastic and very welcoming. We ordered an assortment of coffees and pastries (fondant au chocolat, croissant) as well as a loaf of their basic white bread. We loved all the items and found they were very well priced for the quality! We'd love to visit again on our next visit. Well done!

We went multiple times for breakfast while in La Malbaie because it was just so good. We really loved the croissant du fromage and the brioche aux framboise! Outdoor seating is nice, too.

What a great place! We stayed at the Fairmount and we wanted to discover a little bit of the area and it’s restaurant/bakery. I was glad that I went to this place. BEST COFFEE AROUND AND THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a place where you can start your day with an amazing coffee!

Initially we went to McDonald's but walk-in was closed and there was a long queue at the drive-thru. So we found this very delightful bakery and restaurant. Their breakfast was excellent. We drank our hot drinks out of bowls which was a new experience. Staff were very friendly. The only critique I would have is that they might be a bit overpriced - we spent $50 for two of for breakfast.

Small busy bakery serving up breakfast and lunch. We tried the pizzaguette and the caramel apple French toast. The breakfast options were not extremely impressive but the bread was right on point! We picked up a loaf of apricot-hazelnut-honey bread and a loaf of the sesame miso, and both were so good we went back a couple of days later for more.

Delicious baked goods and desserts. High quality coffee as well. The croissants were crispy and we enjoyed them for our breakfast . Mille-Feuille was the best one I ever had so far!! It had a perfect sweetness and the puff layered pastry had excellent texture. The sandwich and soup were yummy as well. Only the downsides of this bakery were, They only accept cash or debit. No credit cards. Bring tons of cash if you don't use a debit card because there are so many goodies to choose from!! We went twice during our stay at Percé. Both times, there was a long lineup. Prepare to wait about 10-15 minutes to order. They have a spacious seating area inside and terrace outside.

Very busy spot but by far the best pastries on the south Gaspésie shore. The desserts are Devine, made with finesse and never too sweet (even if it is a maple tart). The lemon eclair was my favourite. The breads are available in different density, Portuguese is nice and light, au levin is dense and firm and excellent baguette. After trying many different Pâtisseries along the towns along the shore, we now have decided to drive to Percé when we need our sugar fix. It’s a delight every time

Quebec Cafés cannot be beat and this is no exception. Staff were friendly and quick to help. Food was delicious à with good price points. Atmosphere was beautiful. A must try if in Perce.

They left their open sign on and their door open after closing time so, when I walked in for the first time expecting a latte, I was annoyed to find out they were closed. I'm so glad I tried again the next day because everything was AMAZING. The coffee was good. The staff were friendly. And, as someone who doesn't usually care for sweets, I can say that their desserts were PHENOMENAL. I ordered some for my family and I thought my husband was being dramatic when he kept exclaiming after trying each one. Nope. Not an exaggeration. They were truly delicious.

One great experience, one TERRIBLE experience Went on Tuesday and enjoyed the breakfast and additional pastries. The young man that worked there made everything easy and did the order to perfection (Eggspress and Salmon bagels), after that experience we came back on Wednesday looking for the same... Instead Wednesday was terrible, communication was poor, charged us for things they didn't the day before, didn't give things we paid for, didn't put any sauces on our overly dried out Eggspress', and overall horrible attitude by the women working there. This second one experience totally ruined the experience and our breakfast was terrible. I DO NOT recommend this place as their staff is not well trained (except for the young man Tuesday) and they are not consistent. Also avoid if you are English - they will NOT welcome you and will not try to understand even if you try to speak French.

We came here a few years ago and enjoyed the experience. This time, maybe due to covid, the staff is stressed and not courteous. If they wanted us to respect the 2m, someone should have been standing outside and telling us nicely. We were asking questions about our orders and saying they gave us napkins when they didn't or no straws for smoothies etc.The bread and food is good though so hope they can get organized and improve customer service.

Staying in Charlevoix for a weekend of skiing and stopped here for croissants which were so delicious. On our way out stopped here again for more croissants and sandwiches. The store is very clean and neat, and all covid measures being followed. The food looks fresh and is baked daily so you know you are getting fresh goods. Definitely recommend 👌

We bought a lot of different stuff and with the exception of one of the chocolatine which felt like it might have been from the previous day, everything was delicious. Located right on Mont Royal Avenue — one of my favorite pedestrian streets in Montréal — this bakery was a standout discovery. I’ve had kouign-amann before (at O Petit Paris in Montréal and even Dominique Ansel's bakery in New York City), but the one here is by far the best I’ve ever tasted. The pastry is baked in a large round, almost like a pie, then cut into wedges to serve. The texture is exactly what you want: incredibly crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside. You can order a single slice for $3.25 CAD, a small round (about 6 servings) for $18 CAD, or a large (about 12 servings) for $33 CAD. The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. — so plan to arrive early before they sell out. The woman at the counter was very friendly and spoke both English and French, which made ordering simple. They also offer a few other pastries (pain au chocolat, cinnamon roll, berry tart, plain croissant), but trust me — you come here for the kouign-amann. It’s outstanding, and I highly recommend making a stop if you’re in Montréal.

Pâtisserie Au Kouing Amann is one of our favourite pastry shops in the city. They have the worst hours (closed Sunday to Tuesday) but their kouign amann are amazing. Grabbed a kouign amann ($3.25) and croissant au fromage ($3.50). Flaky, delicious goodness. You won’t find a better kouign amann!

During our short visit to Montreal, we had to try the well recommended Kouign Aman Bakery. Their pastries are so perfectly buttery and tasty. We will definitely revisit as well as recommend our friends.

You know you’ve found the right bakery when the air smells like buttery heaven. Most people seemed to go for for their croissants (and yes, they’re fantastic), but it surprises me how often the kouign amann gets overlooked. Their medium-sized version (about 6-7 portions) is something I could happily devour all on my own. It’s rich and buttery, yet never feels heavy. I’ve never been to Brittany, but I imagine this is about as close to the real thing.

Tasty and delicious! I am definitely coming back. Unfortunately they only had these two options around 15.00 (it closes 16 30), so next time I'm coming here earliee to try other other pastries.

I wasn’t too interested in another bakery. But one bite of the kouign amann had my partner and I coming back multiple days in a row. I’ve never had a better dessert - they’re like a cross between croissants and custard. Immaculate 👌🏼

Notation related to staff only, the Kouign Amann is delicious there and I heartily recommend to stop there at least once to try it! We went there today, we = couple with our baby in stroller, on November 1st 2025, after calling around 3pm on the phone number from their website where they are stating they close on Saturdays at 4:30pm; on the phone the woman, Gabriela, insists that we arrive at 4:15 latest because they close at 4:30, clearly worried that she has ‘’a late order’’. So we rushed there and arrived on time to discover there were a bunch of customers in the shop, waiting in line to order, not much being pressured about time or anything. So I ask what would have happened if we’ve arrived at 4:25pm or 4:28pm, we wouldn’t be able to get our order? She answered ‘look we are just the employees, the owner doesn’t pay us for cleaning after work and it takes a long time cleaning because it is a big place’’ so I answered to update their closing time on their website to reflect the early closing attitude, to which they answered again that they are the just the employees… Well, if you’ve been there you look around you see 2 tables and, what, 4 chairs? Unless they need to clean the entire kitchen + else, this would be a 15mins daily routine cleaning, for sanitary purposes that are a requirement for a food shop, which clearly they are not willing to do without pay, but at the same time their paying machine is asking if we want to leave a tip, at each transaction? Do they not get tips? -Not from me today they didn’t, not sorry- I used to bartend while paying for university fees and me too didn’t get paid for the cleaning full hour and thirty minutes… sometimes it comes with the job, for which you sign an agreement contract. I’ve never complained about that to the customers nor closed an hour in advance 🫣😂 We would have arrived before closing for sure, without living a pressured experience and hearing bad talking from employees. That place deserves 5 stars and happy customers, so I recommend you go there, but to make sure you have a nice big tasty Kouign Amann, call to reserve and be aware of the closing times because of some of their employees 🙂 + I am willing to modify my review if the owner reaches out to me, because I do care about the shop but this experience needed to be voiced, I took the time.

Cutest little bakery ever, as an Artist this was the most beautiful place ever. Love the wood. It smells so good, their food is equally good. Ive discovered the places 5 years ago, and the various workers are just as kind and amicable and always smiling but genuinely. I even saw a little squirrel thing chipmunk kind, theyre so rare. Its a bit far from Montréal but totally worth it. Bromont is truly a stunning town with an equally matching bakery.

Absolutely delicious pastries. Picked up a box of desserts before heading home with a buttery chocolate croissant. They had some divine looking sandwiches and ready to go meals as well. Ladies here are SO friendly too. What a wonderful experience!!

Absolutely love this bakery! The colors and textures jumps to the eyes in the moment you walk i, fresh bread, buttery croissants, and warm smiles. Everything tastes homemade with real care. Their almond croissant is pure perfection, special attention to Lorraine Quiche! Must try if you love pork! Staff are always kind and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, grab a coffee, and enjoy the moment. Definitely my go-to spot for weekend mornings and little moments of joy during the week.

I’m giving this place 3 stars mainly because they never a choice of bread at 3:45 - 4:00 pm (nothing left) even though they close at 5:00 pm. Also everything is expensive, maybe the bread is not too pricy, but everything else is.

A great bakery with lots of offerings. It is a routine stop for us, and we load up on the pastries, pizzas and quiches. The bread variety and quality is impressive, and the service is efficient and friendly. They offer sandwiches and ready-to-take-home options, but there is not really a place to sit and enjoy your selections. Plan on taking it to go and enjoy it at home or for a picnic. You won't be disappointed!

What a treat for a small city like Bromont to have a place like Canael. Every item I had (macarons, tarts, bread/croissants, and of course the pâté en croûte Champenois) was excellent!! You can tell the staff take their work very seriously and hold to a very high standard. This place is a must-visit!!

There's a great assortment of things to try at this store and everything is better than the last! Tons of options for dessert, the coffee that they do is great, the savory sandwiches, and they also have options like salads if you just want to have a light meal instead. A great one stop shop if you're in a rush and also a cozy place to get some work done if you prefer.

I picked a nice selection of cookies; overall they had a nice consistency and flavor. If they were on the "trying to be healthier" side (meaning- less ingredients/sugar alternatives/etc) these would be great, but just as a simple gluten free cookie- I liked it but didnt love it.

Lovely spot and yummy gluten free items! My daughter doesn’t eat gluten and I’m so glad we found this spot while visiting Montreal. She got the sweet potato and corn flour soup, grilled cheese on gluten free bread and a gluten free muffin. She said it was all delicious! She had so many gluten free options. They do have some regular items as well. I thought the prices were reasonable too - an affordable lunch.

Finding a GF pastry shop is hard enough, but to find one that everything tastes amazing is stellar! Staff was sweet and pastries lovely.

I had given up on most of these shops because over the years, the quality of their products had in my opinion gone downhill. Fast track to the present and because a friend told me that this location actually had better bread for some reason, I tried again. Well, after trying three breads, I'm in agreement that this location for some reason does have better bread. How bizarre. Anyhow, for now, I'm very pleased. The service was also excellent.

I recently ordered coffee and cake from here via Uber Eats, with my order totalling around $100. While the cake was delicious as always, they forgot to send all the coffees. I also requested cutlery and napkins, but there was nothing in the package. Despite contacting Uber Eats for a refund, I didn’t receive any resolution. Given the size of the order, I expected the store to take more responsibility—perhaps sending someone or offering a solution—rather than leaving it to me to contact the driver and request them to return for the missing items. This experience was quite disappointing, and I hope the service improves in the future.

May 2025- Première Moisson- Marché de l’Ouest. At the ‘Marché de l’Ouest, in the West Island of Montreal, there are two bakeries. One is ''Boulangerie du Marché de l’Ouest '' et the second is refered on line as 'Boulangerie du Marché de l’ouest- Première Moisson '– I know – a bit confusing, Indeed. The first one,' Boulangerie du Marché de l’Ouest' , the shop closest to the main entrance is excellent. Unfortunately, they have no web site. Fortunately, the pie was very good. Good point for this bakery. This review is about the second one: 'Boulangerie du Marché de l’Ouest- Première Moisson' - They are accessible online or by phone. The problem is that you order a pie for 8 (eight) persons- At pick-up, you get a pie for 4 (four) persons at the price of a pie for 6 (six) persons. Do the math and see who is who wins: neither the customer nor the 8 guests waiting for this pie.

Great pastries, croissants, chocolate and ... jams. The macarons are not to my liking as they are mushy and don't have the signature crunchy outer layer. I sometimes get the Caprese sandwich for lunch. However, once they made it with Ciabata that had black olives in it. That was terrible. The olives in the bread overpowered the mozzarella and basil.

Waited in line for 10 min to be told, sorry no croissants are left as one person apparently took everything for a conference Very disappointed and waste of time, they should better manage inventory and maybe not sell everything to one client , waitress behind the counter seemed not to really care about nothing having any type of croissant

Very disappointed in their chocolate croissants/chocolatines. There’s barely any chocolate in them. A thin strip as shown in the picture on ONE side. Might as well have ordered a plain croissant…

They have a variety of delicious breads, desserts, and more. They even make different flavors and designs for the holidays.

On our way to Mont Orford, I couldn’t resist stopping at (Fabrique de Bagel café noir) for breakfast—there’s no forgetting the taste from our first visit to Magog. I adore this place for its variety of fresh bakery & local items (jams, érable, pie etc..) We ordered a bagel with salmon and cream cheese, a poppy bagel with cheese, and hot chocolate. Naturally, I also bought a dozen of their freshly baked mixed bagels & 1/2 dozen of blueberry bagel. The blueberry bagels are still my favorite, and I was pleasantly surprised by the ‘bagel aux érables”—it was my first time trying it, and it’s perfect for those who enjoy a sweeter taste. The 2 olives fougasse is as delicious as ever, and the cheesy bread is simply succulent. P.S. Apologies for the bagel that’s already been eaten in the photos—we couldn’t resist the smell before taking the shots!

Lovely view of stream nestled in the trees in their new outside patio dining. Fresh made bagels with many edible gift items in the store. Friendly place to come visit, or bring a book and enjoy the quiet. Service is great with friendly staff.

If you are in Magog check this place. So much good food. Great way to start the day - cafe latte and egg, ham and cheese on a sesame bagel. Yum

Very cute little café, a hidden gem really. We stumbled upon it on our way to Magog and it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped inside, the gentleman at the cash was super helpful making us feel very welcomed. We got their smoked salmon as well as egg, ham, cheese onion bagels and they were delicious. Prices were reasonable too. We had a little mix up with one of the bagels, and the cook was super nice and quickly fixed it for us. The café itself is very cozy and on a sunny day their terrace in the back must be beautiful!

This place is a must-stop for coffee or a snack, with the best bagels in the area. The backyard has been improved a lot. But the real reason I come here is because it feels like home, it’s peaceful and has a great vibe. However, after spending about $35 between my partner and me, getting our desserts in paper bags and my chai latte in a takeaway cup kind of ruined the moment. Maybe the young waiter was just in a hurry, but why do other customers get their coffee in a real cup and their dessert on a plate, and we don’t? “It’s the little things that make a difference.” I hope they remember that, because this place is truly worth it.

What an amazing spot! The service here is truly welcoming and attentive — you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The food is top quality, fresh, and delicious. The bagels are a standout, made directly on site, and you can really taste the difference. Everything is prepared with care, and it shows. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for both great service and unforgettable food!

Tasty coffee & croissant. The ambience was nice, with cozy & kind of fancy decor at the same time. I didn't taste but the desserts looks delicious. Great small spot for a French style cafe! The location is in one main street but is actually calm around, not really busy and noise, good spot to enjoy a coffee or dessert. They serve breakfast too and the price looks reasonable. They speak French and English and the service was friendly.

Lovely place to sit down for a snack, lunch, and/or a cup of coffee. Friendly and efficient bilingual service, a very pleasant ambience, and delicious food. Lattes are a bit on a watery side so ask for a double shot if you like your coffee a bit more flavourful

The brunch menu is VERY original, which I loved. Everything was delicious, although we wished we had ordered the gnochis! The price is OK for the size of the plates. The service was good.

Very cozy, very French place great for weekend brunch. This is not the place for the typical greasy Montreal hangover breakfast. The best way to describe the decor is "adorable". A great place to take a date or people from out of town who want to experience the European side of Montreal. The brunch menu is fairly limited but everything is very fresh and tasty. Service is friendly and completely bilingual.

Presentation was clean and minimalist, which I liked. I ordered the beef pastel and the beef & cheese pastel, but I wasn’t impressed — I’ve had authentic pastels in Brazil and these didn’t compare (understandable since not all the real ingredients can be imported). The carrot cake also wasn’t very impressive. Overall, food was okay but nothing special.

Absolutely love Padoca Cuisine! The food is always comforting, rich, and full of flavor. You can tell everything is made with care and passion. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels warm. Whether it’s a frozen meal or a sweet treat, it’s always a delicious experience. Highly recommend!

Will delight your sweet tooth! Homemade desserts to enjoy. I’ve only been here for desserts so I can’t speak for the savoury options but the sweet cakes were never a disappointment. Gave 3 stars coz Im quite taken aback that the cappuccino ($3.25) came from a commercial machine and made by pressing a single button - not the true authentic experience. The service though is amicable.

A five-star pastry shop. These are by far the best cakes I’ve ever seen and eaten. This pastry shop offers a wide variety of cakes, pastries, cookies and cupcakes. Not only they look amazing and very creative but also they taste wonderful, flavourful and delicious. The owners are always friendly and welcoming. I have ordered more than 10 birthday cakes and never been disappointed. The price is very reasonable for such quality. This place is a hidden gem in the plateau - a relatively new patisserie with top quality pastries. I tried many so far: cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, nutella mousse, mango mousse, among others. They are all incredibly tasty, and the presentation is great too.

Very friendly staff. numerous fresh and delicious desserts. My favorites are persian style roulette, napeloni, and zaban puff pastry.. highly recommended.

We ordered a custom cake and were really impressed by the quality of the cake and the size. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!! The guys at Narcisse are really nice. I spoke to Mohamad when I was there - excellent customer service. He was very positive, had good communication, and was really willing to help. I will definitely order again from Narcisse.

Love this vegan bakery! Had to stock up on some delicious treats for the weekend. Also picked up a lavender iced coffee with those decadent chocolate cupcakes. They didn't make the picture as I couldn't help myself sooooo good. I highly recommend this place.

I went with a vegan friend who loves their pastries. It is a very colorful and welcoming small business. I ordered the cranberry scone with pecans and couldn't have been happier. Perfection! They were having a buy one get one sale on lemon and raspberry cake squares so we also took advantage of that. The service was very friendly and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

Please open a location in Ottawa 😭 You have ruined me for vegan baked goods. I can’t stop thinking about the vegan almond croissant. It’s fluffy and crispy, sweet but not too sweet. That almond paste is too good. The matcha latte with maple syrup is good. When I return to Montreal I plan on getting a hotel nearby to have brunch here. The scone with lemon and walnut was great too. They also have savoury baked goods. The staff is kind and there are small tables within the bakery.

This was the best bakery we went to in Montreal. Definitely the best and freshest tasting croissants, with the almond one being our favorite! The croissants had a nice presentation, flaky, crispy exterior and layers and layers of delicious flaky soft dough on the inside. The almond one has a delicious almond paste filling inside. We gobbled up the savory treats and bought frozen ones to take on the plane with us. It’s so impressive how they make their own butter, phyllo dough etc… 10 stars if I could.

Sophie Sucrée is such a charming little vegan bakery with a warm and welcoming vibe. The pink storefront instantly catches your eye, and the inside is just as sweet as the treats they serve. Everything looks freshly baked and beautifully presented, with a great mix of pastries, cookies, and croissants. It’s a cozy spot that feels local and genuine, perfect for grabbing a treat and coffee while exploring the neighborhood.

Delicious, all-vegan pastry shop. * croissant - 9.5/10 excellent * almond croissant - unbelievable * salted caramel cheesecake - very good * spinach pastry - very good, * banana bread - pretty good. * apple spice cake - great * Cranberry almond scone - very good * brownie - a bit lacking * chocolate chip cookie - just okay * onion and pepper pizza from the day old shelf - pretty good. They'll heat it up the savory foods for you, and they had a shelf of cheaper day-old items. Overall very impressed and will be taking others back. Uses red path sugar, which is not refined with animal bone char!

Thank you so much for having a vegan pastry shop! Everything was delicious, but I particularly loved the pistachio croissant! The savory spinach pastry was also delicious. It would be dangerous if I lived near here because I would come every single morning for a decadent croissant.

We used Patisserie La Toque for our wedding cake and could not have been happier! It was exactly what I had envisioned and Carrie was a pleasure to work with! We loved even the little details like the wooden cake board! I highly recommend!

I ordered a cake for my daughters 3rd birthday and Carrie intuitively knew what I had in mind and was easy to make the arrangement with. The cake was spectacular and beautiful. We loved it and will only order from there for other special occasions.

I had the most zesty, tangyt creamy and delicious lemon blueberry cream puff ever! Omg it was great. And my son said his chocolate macaroon was also the best ever. Well done!

We have had several of Carrie's delicious treats and they are all amazing! Carrie also created a replica cake for my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary, which was both delicious and beautiful.

I'd like to say that we make the trip because the kids want one of Carries treats - but that's more of an excuse. Since trying Carries desserts we don't really go anywhere else. Just great.

This place is amazing. Home made stuff, different selection every time I come back! If you want the most chances of getting items, I would recommend going within the first half hour they open, else you run the chance of returning empty handed! Cheers

We ordered our wedding cake from Yuki and it was delicious! The raspberry lemon flavour is fantastic and she was able to accommodate my seveer peanut and nut allergy which was amazing. The cake looked beautiful and tasted great as well! I highly recommend!

I wish I could give a better review, but I feel pretty misled by the presentation of this bakery. I LOVE their wedding cake designs, but I have reached out about their wedding cakes through email multiple times over MONTHS — unanswered. Then I attempted to contact them via Facebook and found out they are “pausing” wedding cake orders. No estimated time of return to doing wedding cakes and no other information available. I finally found some time to call them and was told that Yuki of Yuki’s bakery has “retired” from doing wedding cakes. This is devastating to find out when I have been trying to contact them for so long. I understand when people need to move on to other things, but this bakery needs to stop promoting their wedding cake portfolio and needs to stop misrepresenting what the situation is with their business. THEY NO LONGER DO WEDDING CAKES AT ALL. It’s an absolute shame, but If you’re looking for an amazing bakery to do the cake for your wedding, look elsewhere 😢

Had our wedding cake prepped by Yuki. There were several pros and several cons that I would like to discuss here. For start, she was very easy to work with. She communicated very well throughout the whole process and the cake looked very nice. Where we felt like we were let down was the quality and taste of the cake at the wedding. It wasn’t anything similar to what we experienced during our cake tasting. It didn’t taste fresh sadly. Overall it wasn’t best but it also wasn’t the worst cake either.

Yuki Bakery delivered our wedding cake beyond our expectation. They communicated very thoroughly on the design, was very clear on every process and accommodated all of our needs till the delivery. Since Yuki Bakery has a nut free kitchen, we can trust them 100% on the safety of our friends with dietary restrictions.

We went with Yuki Bakery for our wedding cake. The service was quick and efficient, and our cake was exactly like planned. We got many compliments on it. Some guests had to leave before we cut our cake so we were lucky enough to eat some of our wedding cake leftovers every night for a week after the wedding. We didn't mind at all!

I had a very pleasant experience with Les délices Lafrenaie Saint-Léonard. I requested a custom cake for the engagement party of my friend and, even though I’ve enjoyed this bakery for a long time now, I was a little stressed about the outcome of that specific custome cake. However, I could not have been more happy with the result - they delivered a cake that was exactly like the picture shown! Not only was it beautiful, it was also delicious and such a hit at the party! They took the time to answer all my questions and delivered a final product that was above and beyond! Thank you to the team and a special thank you also to Victoria who was very patient and professional !

They have super delicious cakes over there. I love them a lot. My favorite cakes over there are the Chocolate, Chocolate Fudge, and Death By Chocolate cakes. Plus, they allow you to order customized cakes, where you can talk to one of their cake makers and specify to them what would you like to see on your cake. I once bought this custom-made green Philadelphia Eagles cake from them back in January ahead of my Philadelphia Eagles being in the playoffs, and it came out really good. On top of it tasting really good too, obviously!

One of my favorite bakeries in town. I recently tried the lulus, and they are incredibly filled. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, that’s probably for the best, or I'd find myself here every day. The service is quick and friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

The cherry pie is disgusting. Made with manufactured ready made cherry sauce, the only thing they made was the dough...gross, 🤮 tastes fake. Grocery quality. They make huge for looks, they forgot about the taste. Stew your own for crying out loud

Absolutely fantastic.. I instantly fell in love with this bakery, they have lots of cake desserts and traditional fresh pastries on the counter (like Romanian cozonac). The variety is really great, it was hard for me to make my order as all the choices looked so delicious. The place is very clean with tables to eat inside and the staff is extremely welcoming and nice. They also sell types of jams you never seen anywhere else... I had a taste of the things I bought when I got home and it was DELICIOUS! I'm very glad I discovered this bakery, don't hesitate going there.

Had the chance to "rent" their kitchen for a couple of hours so our club could make cupcakes and cookies for a university bake sale. Really nice and organized kitchen and incredible staff. Angelica is lovely and so is her family! I don't know what its called, but if you go there, ask for orange chocolate sticks, they are delicious!

Dishonesty is not how you run a business, I don't care about how great this place tastes. Ordered a birthday cake and asked if a fresh one can be made. When I come to pick up, not only was nothing written, but the owner tried to give me an old cake from the display. He claimed it is new when it obviously was the same cake I didn't want to buy when I made an order for a fresh one. Stay away!

This is a good pastry and cake shop. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, good products. Kind of expensive to be honest. For instance the "cozonac" is $25, sorry but this is a rip off. There are other examples as well. Same products in Toronto (also at the Romanian shops) are half the price and in many cases better quality. Also some of the small cakes are often dry and not fresh. As a Romanian I take a lot of satisfaction in tasting some traditional treats from my country and for that I am very happy with it. But it is worth mention that this pastry shop in Bucharest would be close to the bottom. The taste is simply not as good. The emphasis is on diversity and not quality: there are many types of cakes and confectionaries, but with a few exceptions, they can all be significantly improved. For instance: the layered cakes are usually too dry; the "savarina" sauce tastes like sugary water and has too much sauce. From a business perspective the current recipe of course works and the shop seems to be presperous, but from a tradition point of view, I would be more happy to focus on fewer products that are truly delicious and memorable.

I am their customer since they opened, and after so many years of buying from there they sold me a cake for my Daughter birthday not good at all. And her attitude when I told her was really bad. I went back the next day and she gave me another frozen one. I didn't know that they are keeping the cakes frozen. It was supposed to be fresh made. It was my last cake from this place.

Patisserie at its best, the closest to the Central European cuisine that can be found on this side of the Atlantic. Romanian, Austrian and Hungarian cakes, good coffee on the patisserie side. Now they opened up a restaurant section, everything is made on site. They serve authentic Romanian food: stuffed cabbage rolls, soups, polenta with cheese to mention just a few. They have arguably the best tripe soup in town. Worth the journey.

Honestly some of the best pastries I've had in town. One of the first time that I'm actually satisfied with the chocolaty richness of a pastry. Totally recommended.
