Sushi restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Authentic Japanese restaurant
Sushi Oribe, established in 2014 by Master Chef Hideaki Oritsuki, is a cozy and relaxed restaurant offering an exquisite dining experience. The menu features elegant dishes such as Hiroshima oysters and Hokkaido uni, with seasonal variations reflecting the best of Japanese cuisine. Whether you prefer counter seats, individual tables, or private rooms, the restaurant accommodates various group sizes.
Celebrating their 10th year anniversary, Chef Nao has proven not only to be an exceptional Traditional Omakase pro hailed from Tokyo Japan, but his fun personality makes the experience more wholesome and comforting. Not only the Winter menu at the time I visited was stellar, but the overall vibe was amazing too especially the flounders fin. I highly recommend to spare about 2 hours for a cool experience with Chef Nao. I've also learned a lot from him on the types of Omakase's and why he resided in KL. But if time is tight, you can opt for their lunch meals too. What I really love about Oribe too is that Chef Nao will ask for allergens before he presents you the best dishes in mind. During the omakase course, he can also add in the amount of rice up to your cholesterol bowl or lunch bowls up to your liking because omakase's generally don't fill you up, but he wants to ensure you do not leave hungry. I'd definitely come back because it's one of the fun omakase's I've had so far. The interior remains simple, but the personality and food speaks volumes for itself. Located just a 5 min walk from Pavilion Mall KL (located below Vipod residence)

Had a pretty engaging omakase lunch experience. We opt for the counter seat, which made it feel more personal and interactive. We were served by a young Japanese chef who was friendly and humorous, and he walked us through a seasonal selection of seafood and fish. Everything was fresh and delicious. You can choose your preferred rice portion for the sushi which is a nice touch. I tried Sushi Ori some time ago, and the menu here feels quite similar.
Leh P — Google review
It’s my first omakase experience and it is heavenly. The seafood melts in your mouth, it’s fresh, it’s flavorful, it tantalizes one’s pellets. The dining in experience is made pleasurable by attentive staff and the master chef, Master Nao. As he said, it’s now not yesterday or tomorrow 😂 Food is presented with detailed explanations and guidance on how to eat to attain maximum enjoyment. It’s nothing short of mesmerizing…. Will return
Joanne F — Google review
I visited for an omakase dinner and was impressed by the freshness of the fish, which was better than what I usually find in Malaysia. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which made the atmosphere enjoyable. That said, I was concerned about the hygiene practices. I noticed the chef occasionally touched items such as display props and then continued making sushi without washing hands. Since cleanliness is such an important part of sushi preparation, I hope to see more attention given to hand hygiene in the future.
BYUNGYOON K — Google review
This is one place that we choose go to once a year, to indulge in really good quality and tasty sushi. The chef is very talented and the food is very fresh. It’s also a good place to entertain your guests and leave them with a positive impression. Call in early to make a reservation, as that would be highly recommended.
Kartik M — Google review
We had an enjoyable dining experience by Chef Nao, with his culinary skills and humour! He has be living in Malaysia over 10 years, so he have a good understanding in Malaysian taste preference. All the seafood quality are top notch! I was a bit let down with their dessert at the end of the course. The course meals should be enough for most average eater, else you may want to top up with rice. For the price we pay, it's certainly good value for all the fresh seafood from Japan.
YF P — Google review
Our first time at Oribe and we had a pleasant dinner thanks to Chef Itaru who dazzled us with his knife skills and hosted us warmly. He was attentive and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout dinner. I was impressed when he noticed that I found the temperature of the nabe too hot and promptly transferred it out from the burner. Service staff were also attentive, with multiple tea refills and ensured that the counter was always clean. Big thank you and this restaurant definitely warrants a second visit!
Natalie A — Google review
I haven't been here for a long time and decided to visit Oribe today. Huge disappointment and big drop in standard. Some sushi - engawa, squid, scallop is marinated with soya sauce and made it too salty. Not to mention it totally cover the sweetness and freshness of the seafood taste. The sushi rice is very salty and I wasn't able to finish it. The service is not top notch, hot hand towel only served once since I was seated. Worse of all, I ordered a bottle of sake and the price on the menu stated was RM280 and the bill came out to be RM320. Immediately I questioned the waitress. The waitress said the menu is old menu and they got a new menu therefore they charged us with the new price. The funny part is why did you put the old menu on my table then? How can a fine dining make such a silly mistake? Imagine if I didn't noticed the price difference. In the end, they still gave us the old price. In conclusion, I will never return to this restaurant again.

Japanese restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the ground floor of Intermark Mall, Hanare Japanese Restaurant offers an exquisite omakase dining experience, perfect for a romantic evening. The restaurant prides itself on using handpicked seafood flown in from Tokyo's Toyosu Fish Market and expertly crafted by seasoned chefs. While slightly on the pricey side, guests can enjoy a 10% discount when booking through Klook.
Came here for lunch and very happy with the food. Great presentation and fresh ingredients imported from Japan. Definitely must try their seasonal ingredients, this time i tried their 'Tai' fish, it's so flavourful and cooked to perfection 😍 Saw their poster regarding weekend buffet with reasonable pricing, definitely will come visit in the future. If you are nearby, definitely must come here and try this restaurant!

Sushi lovers, rejoice. This restaurant serves up pristine cuts of fish with expert The tempura is light and crisp, the sushi rolls are inventive, and the ambiance is perfect for a special occasion or a quiet evening out.

Redeemed Klook vouchers hereon a weekday lunch. Mas was extremely helpful with our order and bill splitting. To say she was patient is an understatement. Thank you Mas! The ambience was wonderful. Good place for a date. Food was fresh. My kids loved the Wagyu beef and devoured the ice cream
Stephanie T — Google review
Came here for a business lunch and overall, the experience was quite pleasant. We managed to get a private room which made the setting ideal for discussions although the restaurant itself wasn't crowded on a weekday. The food was not bad — the sashimi was fresh and nicely presented. The lunch set was well-prepared and nicely portioned. Service was generally okay, though towards the end we did feel a bit rushed as the staff were eager to close after lunch service. The pricing is on the higher side, which is somewhat expected for a Japanese restaurant of this level. The atmosphere leans towards a dimmer, cosy vibe, which works well for more intimate or business-type meals. Overall, a decent option if you're looking for a quiet Japanese spot in the city center, especially for business meetings — though just be mindful of their lunch closing time.

The cosy and calm atmosphere made for a perfect lunch escape. From the appetisers to the desserts, every dish was tasty. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a refined yet relaxing dining experience.

Sushi restaurant
Sushi Azabu is a renowned restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, known for its indulgent omakase dining experience. As an offshoot of the Michelin-starred New York establishment, it offers a refined and intimate setting where guests can enjoy a multi-course meal featuring seasonal Japanese produce.
Intimate 12 seater dining of Japanese omakase designed to tantalize your taste buds if you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine. Interior is simple and tastefully done with a minimalist feel playing with natural elements like bamboo, wood and touches of pottery decor and fine Japanese knives on display. Came here for a birthday and really enjoyed this intimate dining experience. We were seated in a small room of 7 people with 6 guests consisting of three separate parties. Was interesting to watch the chef skillfully prepare every meal before our eyes, while he kept in mind the different stages of the omikase for each party (we came in second last) while also establishing friendly conversation with all in English and Japanese. The staff are polite, friendly and professional. The food is delicate, refined and beyond my expectation. The omakase menu of 17 dishes consisted of various cuts (fatty to lean) from a 165kg cured tuna to imported uni from USA and Japan, tender scallops, caremelised egg, miso soup, etc. all skillfully assembled by the expert hands of the head chef and beautifully presented with fine Japanese crockery. Quality of the food is exceptional- everything was tender, well balanced and delicious. Close to the end of our experience, we were pleasantly surprised to have all the staff sing happy birthday to our mother and presented with a slice of walnut burnt cheesecake with a lit candle, handwritten with ‘Happy Birthday’ in chocolate- the cake was silky smooth, creamy and very delicious too. Couldn’t fault anything really other than the toilet access is limited to one per gender and didn’t smell too pleasant and it is shared between three restaurants in the same location. I would recommend Azabu for a nice intimate date, corporate dinner or special occasion. Booking is online.
Daezjn — Google review
Had the 16 course omakase at 588++ per pax. The food was excellent, sashimi and seafood were super fresh and flavourful. It was a lovely meal. The 12 seater place provided an intimate and cosy ambience.
K S — Google review
Went for the RM588 lunch course - not quite worth the price Mediocre ingredients Uni wasn’t fresh, with a slight woody scent (I assume it’s from the wooden box). On the plus side, the chef was generous with the ginger filling. If I had to recommend, go for sushinosuke - everything is prep with creativity (and no I dam not referring to those overloaded uni, caviars or otoros) but they just ace it in serving better quality ingredients and keeping the price point affordable
YG Y — Google review
I had the lunch omakase at Sushi Azabu while visiting one of my close friends in Kuala Lumpur, and it was an unforgettable experience. Sitting at the counter gave us the best view of the chefs at work — every movement was so precise and intentional. What made it truly special was how each dish came with its own story, explained with care by the chef. It felt less like just a meal and more like a shared journey through flavours and tradition. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere calm and intimate. Every course was beautifully presented and delicately balanced, with standouts like the fresh sashimi and perfectly seasoned sushi. A truly memorable experience that I’d recommend to anyone visiting KL who wants to savour authentic omakase crafted with passion and respect.
Scott M — Google review
Everything was incredible! We just think it would be more appropriate to have the chef in the center of the counter so that all the guests can enjoy the same experience. Otherwise, the guests at one end might feel left out, which could be a bit disappointing for some. But overall, it was truly amazing!
Vip C — Google review
I was only 10, but they were really nice to me. Their food was amazing and they even made a cake for me because it was around my birthday. - my son is wiriting
JI P — Google review
It's my 3rd or 4th time in Azabu KL, but the 1st time in KLCC as they have relocated from Lot 10 and attained Michelin since 2023. Firstly food was excellent, authentic, not much of fusion thus focusing on the freshness and taste of every piece (they bring in fresh seafood for the current season). Food plating is pretty but nothing extravagant. Atmosphere is good, nothing bright and colours are calming, focusing on food. I have got Chef Shinpei Kujiraoka for the night and he is very knowledgeable, speaks fluent english and entertaining to watch. He seems young but nevertheless talented. Servers are very attentive to our needs. We also had sake tasting which was very affordable - they paired 3 glasses of sake for different foods that we had - for only RM150. My favourites for the night ; - tuna tartare handroll - chutoro - scallop - murasaki uni - chef shinpei's deep gaze & focus on food What I feel could be improved ; - portion of sushi could be slightly larger - I would love to have engawa (not the season) - I wish dessert was something tangy - There was some noise from the restaurant right outside Overall my partner and I had a great time and we left in content.

Iketeru is an upscale Japanese restaurant nestled within the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, offering a luxurious dining experience. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated ambiance, making it an ideal choice for intimate gatherings or special occasions. With its serene setting featuring warm lighting and a zen garden, patrons liken the atmosphere to that of a secluded Japanese village. The menu showcases a diverse selection of authentic Japanese dishes prepared with premium, fresh ingredients and expertly crafted to deliver bold flavors and simple yet imaginative presentations.
Very nice Japanese restaurant in Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Wide range of set menus and also nice teppanyaki setup. Staff is very warm and friendly and ambience is good.
Rajeev K — Google review
Excellent teppanyaki. Beef, lobster and fried rice were all excellent. Only issue to me is the price point is high given Malaysia hence 4/5 but otherwise impressive. We liked the fish tanks. Clownfish and dory - like finding nemo.
Jeremy L — Google review
Ms. Jenny so nice, she not only provides excellent service, she even thoughtfully prepared a cake with fruits, different flavor of ice cream for my lovely sister. The food is top-notch, especially the beef — it melts in my mouth. As for the unagi chawanmushi, it's the best I've ever had in my life. The lobster was so tender.
Keat Y — Google review
We had a family dinner of 5, with Chef Seng Wan as our teppanyaki chef. I had the “Oto Teppanyaki set”, featuring scallops and halibut, and boston lobster. The hallibut/scallop, the sauce paired with the crispy skin of the halibut and doneness of the scallop was a delight, the set itself was a perfect balance, just the right amount for a course meal. We also had the “mori teppanyaki set”, with boston lobster and wagyu beef as the mains. The boston lobster with the butter based sauce was one of the best lobsters that I had eaten. The medium rare beef was juicy, beautifully seared and seasoned. The service was wonderful, had no issues and all needs were met. Definitely recommend and will come back for more!

Authentic Japanese restaurant
SUSHI TAKA is a top contender for the best sushi in Kuala Lumpur, brought to you by Tokyo's 3-Michelin starred Sushi Saito. Executive Chef Satoshi Uehara, known for his mastery of beef, offers beautifully marbled premium Ozaki beef alongside servings of fresh wild seafood like rockfish, Japanese pen shell, and bluefin tuna.
Visited Sushi Taka and finally got to try their renowned sushi—and wow, it did not disappoint! While the prices lean toward the higher end, every bite was worth it. The freshness of the fish was unparalleled, as if it had just leapt out of the ocean. Honorable mentions: Grilled Cherry Salmon (Sakuramasu Yuanyaki): So soft and silky, it practically melts in your mouth. Sea Urchin (Uni): Incredibly creamy with no hint of fishiness—a true delight. Sea Eel (Anago): So tender, it fell apart strand by strand with each bite. I was seated near the chef’s station, watching every sushi masterpiece come to life—superb! To top it all off, the staff surprised me with a cake for my birthday! The team was warm, and the chef kept us entertained throughout the meal. An unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyable dining experience!

An exceptional omakase experience at Taka, St. Regis KL! The sushi is masterfully crafted with the freshest ingredients, each piece showcasing perfect balance and precision. The intimate counter seating allows you to appreciate the chef’s skill and artistry up close. Highlights included the buttery otoro, delicate uni, and perfectly seasoned rice. Service is impeccable, creating a truly refined and memorable dining experience. A must-visit for sushi lovers seeking top-tier Japanese cuisine in KL!

Fantastic service. The server really came through when when I told her really last minute that we were actually celebrating something and managed to come up with a nice dessert! It's been more than a week since we visited and my elderly relatives enjoyed it so much they are still talking about it. I didn't get the omakase so can't comment on that, but anyone who can eat beef should order the beef sets. It's truly very tender and melt in your mouth. There was a fairly picky eater in my group and he said it was the best beef he's ever had.

Had a great time today enjoy the Ushi Omakase. Ordered Ushi Special Omakase with 10 courses. Price 1400rm quite pricey but its worth the taste and quality of the ingredients. The seafood all so fresh the meat so so tender. Almost every course by course i really enjoy the taste and flavor. I will get back for sure in the future. All service really pleasing. The head chef also really nice with lot of experience ^^ really enjoy this nice nice food with Ushi. Its in lv 3A inside the st regis KL.
지신GvN — Google review
I lived in the St Regis and was lucky to get reservations at this restaurant at a short notice. Chef Yazawa’s attention to detail and preparation of food are mesmerizing and admirable. The sushi is top notch and on par with high end sushi in Japan. If you are craving quality sushi and Japanese renown service without going to Japan, this is the place to be. I chose the Omakase option, for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend going for the Hana and Tsuki omakase. The Tsuki has a delicious seafood rice bowl as one of my favorites and the Hana has the delicious pufferfish Milt.
Jacob — Google review
Walked in without any reservations. Food was alright but too expensive as most items just felt plain. Price will have been justifable if there were more beef items though. Surprisingly, the cooked fish was the best item. Servie felt rushed.
FY C — Google review
A very atas experience. A few items were very good, some are ok, a couple not so good. The beef could be chewy, the truffle had no aroma. It's a small room setting, with waiters milling around. All food were prepared in front of the patrons. It got a bit warm half way through the meal.
Kiat N — Google review
My experience at sushi Taka,a Michelin two-star establishment, was incredibly disappointing. We paid 5500 RM for an Omakase experience for three, expecting culinary excellence. However, the food was average at best, not justifying the steep price tag. Hygiene was also a major concern, with flying bugs present and one found in our sake. The staff then scooped out the bug and returned the contaminated sake to us. The manager's dismissive attitude towards our concerns further marred our visit. Overall, a regrettable experience that fell far short of expectations for a Michelin-rated restaurant. You can see another bug on the wasabi and all the chef and staff just ignored us when we informed them of it

Sushi restaurant
Sushi Hinata is a renowned Japanese restaurant in KL that offers an interactive culinary experience. It is known for its carefully selected fresh fish, flown in three times a week from Tokyo's Tsukiji market and Fukuoka market. The restaurant prides itself on serving high-quality traditional Japanese cuisine, with a focus on refreshing seasonal ingredients. The chefs at Sushi Hinata are dedicated to upholding Japanese culture and traditions, taking each step of preparation seriously, from ingredient quality testing to pickle-making.
Bunch of us visited Sushi Hinata to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. We were all very pleased with the place. The food was absolutely amazing, very creative menu and of very high quality, fresh produce. The chef was polite, very friendly and was trying his best to explain each course despite his limited English abilities. At the end of our menu, the chef made few additional treats of some of his personal specials. It was a very sweet gesture! The only problem was one annoying lady customer, who seem to know very little about social etiquette and common courtesy. She was unreasonably loud and literally managed to talk over every other guest in the outlet. To a point we couldn't talk to each other at comfortable volume. She couldn't stress enough how regular she was in there, making sure we all learnt about it. Very rude and uncultured. The next time I make reservation there, I make sure her reservation doesn't overlap with mine. Nonetheless I give the place easy 5 stars for the quality of the food, the high service standards of the staff and the remarkable Japanese chef. Can't hold against them an uncultured, rude customer.

I had the best chawanmushi of my life! It was an explosion of flavors in my mouth. Perfect balance of smokiness from the premium Bonito and the savory taste from the stock! Another dish to die for is the fish liver. The richness of the texture is the highlight and it just melts in my mouth. Ambience is comfortable and exquisite, peaceful and elegance place to have a nice dinner. Great job for the team and look forward to go back again!

My second visit. It’s been a while since my first visit which was in 2016. I didn’t have a 100% experience then as the chef did not speak that much. He was pretty quiet. I told the chef who served me on my 2nd visit and he said he was quiet too. But I can tell he is not. He’s pretty friendly and would try his best to make conversation. I had an enjoyable time with my cousin. Given the price of the course that we chose, we didn’t expect to get any expensive ingredients which is fine with me. I need to make sure that they are worth the revisit. Chef took me by surprise when he served us tachiuo fish sushi which is super rare in KL. I liked the futomaki that he served us at the end of our meal. Opted for no negi (leek / spring onion) in our course. The kitchen staff forgot about it when they served us our miso soup. Chef noticed it and offered to change it for us. Would return for other course (maybe).

Nori Sushi @ Cormar Suites offers a holistic Japanese dining experience with its fresh sashimi, sushi, tempura, and high-quality sake. The attentive servers ensure a great time for everyone. Chef Steven's 38 years of culinary expertise and interest in Japanese Zen culture bring authenticity to the cuisine, decor, and service. Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish featuring vinegared rice mixed with sugar and salt, accompanied by various ingredients like raw seafood and vegetables.
My wife and I had the opportunity to savour Chef Steven’s Omakase menu tonight. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, Chef Steven has transformed fresh food into a masterpiece of art. Highly recommended for those who seek a tantalising meal with a twist. Definitely will be back for more!

My wife and I are always up to try new places for japanese fare and stumbled over this one while looking for highly rated ones in KL city. Based on just our experience for that night, it did not live up to its 4.6 rating. There are plenty of great omakase places that are rated lower. To be clear, the food is of high quality and well presented, no doubt (refer to pictures) albeit not mind blowing. But it’s their service that leaves much to be desired. It’s probably due to the lack of staff. The ordering/serving time was long. The salad and tempura were served last. There was a wrong order that arrived in the end but the chef asked if we can accept the order - it is expected that it should be replaced, no questions asked. It’s a shame because the food was decent. Add to the fact I have to pay rm15 for parking concludes a confusing date night.

Very high quality sushi experience. The chef came several times personally to our table and gave his suggestions. At the end we had a soup made out of some of the remains which was a nice idea. Only small improvement would be that you have no idea what the final price will be and if you could change the plates more.
Marco F — Google review
Got a regular lunch set (RM52), a sushi set (RM75), and some nigiri (toro-RM50, uni-RM60, akagai-RM60) as recommended by one of the waiters / chefs. Usually the higher end sushi pieces tend to be sweeter or more flavorful in some way, but these were pretty bland. The fish selection for the sushi set was disappointing and RM60 for two pieces of sushi is a rip off.

Absolutely delighted! Service was top, food was really fresh and beautifully presented. Very fair price. Highly recommended.

Sushi Hibiki, situated at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, offers an elegant dining experience where Chef Makoto Saito Sam warmly engages with guests while meticulously preparing fresh sushi. With over 20 years of experience in cities like Tokyo, Sydney, and Kyoto, the chef prioritizes not just the quality of food but also the companionship during the meal.
Had a wonderful dinner here! The chefs are super friendly & lively. Despite the late dinner reservations, the staff was kind enough to accommodate us. The fish was incredibly fresh — literally melted in our mouths. Honestly, it was even better than the very pricey omakase we had in Tokyo. Highly recommended!

Had my first Omakase experience at Sushi Hibiki and chose the Kiwami Course. The opening dishes were decent, including the mushroom dish, but the highlight for me was definitely the nigiri sushi and especially the teppanyaki with fried fish paired with rare vegetables — one of the best I’ve had so far. The lobster soup was rich and flavorful, and the sashimi was fresh and delicious. The chef was very helpful in explaining each dish, which made the experience even better. The environment is also great and perfect for capturing good photos. Overall, a really enjoyable Omakase experience.

Easily the best sushi restaurant in KL, with a price to match. Chef Sam serves up sushi with top qaulity seasonal and delicious seafood, often with small pleasant surprises that differentiate from other restaurants. he is also an export in sake, can recommend interesting sake for tasting. The decor is classy not but classic. The light beam down from ceiling on to the plate, quite helpful for your food photos.

Intimate setting, well trained staff (noticed I was left handed). Amazing quality seafood, especially the botan ebi! However highlight of the day was definitely the onion puree with black cod. Will recommend anyone to come and try the restaurant. Will be a regular customer! Very friendly chefs that pay great attention to details.

Sushi Hibiki @ Four Seasons Place Atmosphere: Finding the entrance to the restaurant is already interesting and requires a little searching and asking around but essentially it’s located close to Kenny Hill’s Bakery. You come across a tiny door lower than your shoulders. You’ll need to press the button on a fish and the staff will open the door. You’ll have to bend and upon entering you will find a dimly lit dining bar with its lighting focused on the serving plate. Once you’ve sat down. Chef Saito and team will greet you. Food: We pre ordered online their signature 10 course omakase, Miyabi. As an opening we were served an autumnal season dish made up of monk fish liver, uni and Japanese yam to name a few. It’s paired first with a Nama sake from Hiroshima. The next interesting dish we were served is a soft and creamy chawan mushi topped with a seared Shirako or a sperm milt. The next few dishes were sushis paired with 4 other regional sake. The fiery orange roe was saline and really encapsulates the sea together with the flavorful and umami seaweed. The fugu karaage is also worth calling out as it is rich and creamy inside and crispy fragrant outside. At the end of the evening, we were fortunate to try a very rare chardonnay Bourgogne village from Domaine Kuheiji. It costs MYR 1,280 per standard bottle. The Japanese vigneron only produced 36 bottles and Chef Saito purchased the entire stock. It’s not your typical Chardonnay. Green, grassy notes like cilantro, crisp , dry and clean. All in all, a very good dining experience and hosting. Kudos to Sushi Hibiki, Chef Saito and Team.

Had a special evening at Sushi Hibiki last night with the Miyabi course, and it was truly memorable. The balance between delicate sashimi, rich nigiri, and carefully prepared hot dishes by the Chef really impressed me — each bite felt refined and thoughtful. What made the experience stand out even more was the ambiance. The warm, soft lighting created an intimate mood while highlighting the shine of the fish, the textures, and the elegance of the ceramic ware. Overall, it’s not just about premium sushi here but a dining journey where taste, service, and atmosphere align beautifully. Definitely worth experiencing in KL.

10/10 I’m just a regular Joe who enjoys his zap fan and mamak and this is my first omakase. I afforded my fiancée and myself the Iki Course. Note that the website says 6 course at RM480 but it might be an error and it’s actually 7 course at RM580. I’ve always wanted an omakase experience and I’m glad I chose Hibiki Sushi as my first. Chef Makoto Saito (Sam) gave us a tasteful experience with his masterful performance surrounded by an ambiance that is lavish and exclusively private. Every bite was an explosion of flavours, I cannot. It was an orchestra in my mouth - the warm/cold, the sweet, the salty, the sour, the umami - all in very finely crafted perfection. From the appetiser, to the sushi, the soups, the stone-heated fish, the rich, handpicked fishes, the buttery uni, the mirin-flavoured Hokkaido/Niigata rice, the house mochi dessert. Ugh. Too good. The dinner ended with a little birthday Polaroid session from Hibiki - a sweet, personalised touch with a cute memoir to bring home. Thank you Hibiki and Chef Sam for the unforgettable experience.

Sushi Zanmai NU Sentral is a must-visit for sushi lovers and anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine. With over 20 years of experience, this restaurant offers a delightful dining experience through its convenient conveyor belt service. The menu features an impressive selection of around 100 sushi varieties, including both classic favorites and unique house-special maki rolls. Beyond sushi, guests can indulge in traditional dishes like noodles and donburi that showcase the restaurant's expertise in handling fresh ingredients.
The spicy chicken ramen was tasty, i ordered the small size.😁 My friend got the shoyu ramen large and said it was so-so and didnt have much ingredients inside. Price was costly too😔 The sushi was good tho, and the green tea was warm and refreshing
Savera — Google review
Very disappointing and unsatisfying. I’ve had the same salad at IOI Putrajaya and NU, and the difference is shocking. NU IS THE WORST!!!!!!! Here, the salad only came with four tiny slices of salmon so stingy! The sauce was also a letdown, it didn’t have tobiko (fish roe) like it’s supposed to. Instead, they added shredded carrot what a joke. I won’t be coming back. This feels dishonest and misleading. Plus your staff who wear white shirt she is always showing annoying face, not feeling welcome here.
Min Y — Google review
Average sushi zanmai chain. This is probably a chain problem rather than a specific outlet problem though. I ordered the beef gyudon (a bit tasteless, small portion of beef), seaweed salad (pathetic portion), and salmon head (not bad; but then again salmon is difficult to mess up). Reasonably priced Japanese food but the quality really isn’t there 🥶 we liked the prompt service and the free flow green tea though.

I've been here a few times, but this was my first time trying the unagi rice, and honestly, I couldn't accept the taste. However, after I gave my feedback to the staff, they responded and explained the situation promptly, and even waived the bill.👍 To be fair, the service was excellent — no complaints at all — but the food this time was really disappointing🫠
Yee B — Google review
Food is good overall .The yakiniku salad maki is a little dry in the beef strips, maybe better if drizzle a bit of starchy sauce over.
Lim K — Google review
I recently dined at Sushi Zanmai in KL Nu Sentral Mall and ordered the Kaisen Nabe with Udon, salmon sashimi, and hot tea, which came to a total of RM45.10. For the price, it’s reasonably affordable, especially given the setting and quality. However, it’s worth noting that the portions might feel small for some, as most of the protein ingredients in the Kaisen Nabe were limited to just one piece each. While it was satisfying enough for me, bigger eaters may find it less filling. The service was fine—efficient, though nothing particularly memorable—and the place was clean and comfortable for a casual meal. Overall, a decent choice if you’re looking for affordable mid range Japanese cuisine in a convenient location.

Nobu Kuala Lumpur is a renowned Japanese restaurant located in Menara Petronas 3, offering a unique blend of Asian and South American flavors. As the first Southeast Asian branch of the global franchise with over 29 locations worldwide, Nobu KL provides an exceptional dining experience.
Nobu KL really impressed us! The ambiance was elegant and bright. The staff were super friendly and made us feel at home from the start. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. Portions were a bit small, but everything was packed with flavor. The sashimi was fresh and tasty, and the chocolate mousse cake was rich, and smooth, I loved the dessert! The salmon with crispy leaves was a bit fishy for my taste. Overall, we had a really good time. Would definitely come back again!
Ivyin L — Google review
My visit to was a mixed experience: While the atmosphere and service were impeccable, the food did not live up to the high price point. It was good, but not exceptional enough to justify the cost. However, the dessert was a complete standout. The mango dessert was one of the best I've ever had, a perfect and memorable end to the meal. If I were to return, it would be solely for that exceptional sweet treat.
Byron F — Google review
Food: nobu in the house omakase menu was not good at all for that price point. The beef was the best tasting dish. However, for Chef Nobu to be in town personally with a special menu at about rm1000 per person, we felt fooled. We’ve dined in Nobu Dubai with a great experience. In KL, the flavours fell flat. Snow crab was rubbery and hard. Staff removed the dish and replaced with a whole sushi platter. That was very kind of them. However, if we didn’t get the sushi platter, we would have gone back hungry. The whole menu was a lazy work of using caviar, Wagyu and truffle oil. A quick short cut to charging premium price without showcasing real skills. Service: waited very long in between dishes. The restaurant was not even full. The team was however very friendly. Also noted how certain dishes needed different cutleries but they weren’t prepared for us. Ie: no spoon for items with gravy/soupy. Atmosphere: hip music, with cosy lighting. Nobu is known to be strict with dress code. I assume it’s to keep the atmosphere classy and presentable. So I didn’t enjoy having a toddler shouting behind me while we were eating. Summary: felt cheated, big disappointment. Not going back.

I recently celebrated my husband’s birthday at Nobu KL, and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. I reached out in advance and Roza assisted me throughout the booking process. She was extremely helpful, accommodating my request for a window seat and making sure everything was arranged perfectly for the occasion. I had a specific budget in mind, and the team was able to curate a menu that fit it beautifully without compromising on quality. The food was excellent, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. We truly enjoyed our evening and felt very well taken care of. Highly recommended for special occasions or anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Attended an event here today. Service was ok. Food was good though. The appetizer of salmon new style sashimi had an interesting twist that gave it additional depth and texture to the fresh salmon. My main saebass with shiso salsa reminds me of thai kerabu. Love the perilla leave tempura. The sushi platter was lovely as all the sashimi were very fresh. Finally the miso cappuccino was interesting. It is like piccolo with cuppuccino mouse with walnuts & cream cramped into that tiny cup. Overall, experience was good

Dining at Nobu was always something I wanted to experience. It was not just a meal. From the warm welcome to the unmistakable wow factor when the dishes arrive, everything feels special. Nestled within the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur, Tatsu Japanese Cuisine offers a luxurious and modern setting to savor an array of rich and flavorful Japanese dishes. From a delectable selection of sashimi to signature dishes like teriyaki and teppanyaki, the a-la-carte buffet promises an authentic culinary experience. Tatsu Japanese Cuisine, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur My recent visit to Tatsu Japanese Cuisine at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur was a thoroughly pleasant experience, and I would highly recommend it to those seeking a refined Japanese dining atmosphere in the heart of the city. We visited during Tuesday lunchtime, and the restaurant was notably quiet, with only a few tables occupied. Its location on the mezzanine floor of the InterContinental Hotel provides an exclusive and tranquil setting, ideal for business discussions or private meals—a refreshing contrast to the typically crowded venues in the Kuala Lumpur business district (KLBD). The fact that my friend’s office is conveniently located just behind the hotel at Binjai Premium Soho added to the ease of access. We ordered a variety of dishes: •   Sushi set •   Sashimi set •   Grilled lamb •   Hot green tea •   Latte to finish Each dish was expertly prepared and elegantly presented. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and well-balanced in flavour and texture, clearly reflecting high-quality ingredients. The grilled lamb stood out in particular, offering a perfectly cooked and flavourful alternative for those who prefer meat dishes. Though I did not pay the bill personally, I would say that the overall quality of food and service speaks well of the value offered. The service was excellent—the staff were attentive, polite, and well-versed in the menu. Their professionalism contributed significantly to the comfort and ease of our lunch. In summary, Tatsu offers a quiet, comfortable environment, making it suitable for both casual and professional gatherings. I would not hesitate to return, and I recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine with excellent service in Kuala Lumpur.

Tucked inside the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, Tatsu Japanese Cuisine is a little slice of Japan with a touch of elegance. Their set lunch menu is a treat, but the star of the show? The Unagi Kabayaki—a beautifully grilled eel, glazed in a lusciously sweet-savory sauce, served with all the perfect sides. Every bite is a melt-in-your-mouth delight, like a warm hug from the sea! The restaurant itself is a serene escape, blending modern chic with traditional Japanese charm. Whether you’re here for a business lunch or just spoiling yourself with a midday indulgence, Tatsu turns every meal into an experience worth savoring.

We ordered from the set menu of teppanyaki beef, udon noodles and grilled salmon. Presentation wise it’s.good and atmosphere is comfortable as expected of any Japanese restaurant. Service was quite good as well but think there is some room for improvement. Food wise it’s good though the cawanmushi was only warm instead of steaming hot. We were the only ones dining there and we came close to when they had their last call, perhaps that could be the reason why the food wasn’t really up to our expectations.
Winston C — Google review
Great experience with authentic Japanese cuisines. Quiet ambience and great selections of alcoholic drinks. Winding down after a busy day feels enjoyable. If you are staying in their hotel, you have 20% off.

This restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the intercontinental hotel. Beautiful interior with stylish dark wood and views of the street outside. Had the vodka martini- was good as was the old fashion. Had the 5 course tasting menu for dinner which cost about RM350++. 3 appetites which was all nice. The sashimi was amazingly fresh- especially the scallops. Clam soup was good- above average for a clear soup. The black cod dish with accompanying garlic fried rice was excellent. Desert was good with some matcha mochi and ice cream. Service was attentive.

First time to this restaurant. We passed by this place so many times and we finally came for dinner. The service was fast and the restaurant clean. Ambience was great. The staff were friendly. Food was great and they served quickly. We ordered the chicken and sushi set, salmon avocados sushi and spicy crispy chicken. All the food was great especially the sushi. I had an amazing dining experience at Burger & Sushi! The Chicken Teriyaki Burger was incredibly juicy and full of flavour, making every bite satisfying. The Beef and Bacon Burger was also fantastic, with tender, real meat that made it extra delicious. The Salmon Sashimi was impressively fresh, beautifully sliced, and had no fishy smell, making it a delight to eat. Overall the service was excellent and one of the servers, staff, was very friendly and helping. Service is fast and food is good. But expect to wait because it is often crowded. However they have a corner for people to sit and wait. Sushi weren't crispy as I imagined it to be. Kinda preferred crispy sushi. Not that it was bad, just different from my expectation. The burger was nice. Will return again when I am in the area.

Sushi Ryu, situated in Platinum Park, KLCC, offers a top-notch omakase experience at a reasonable price. The restaurant pays close attention to detail, evident in its Hinoki wood chefs counter and private dining rooms. Additionally, it boasts an extensive selection of exclusive sake from boutique breweries. Sushi Ryu is not afraid to break traditional omakase rules by incorporating fusion elements into their dishes.
My first Omakase experience ever and it was truly amazing! The food is simply stunning – each piece is a work of art, with the freshest ingredients and impeccable technique. Veenashri P — Google review
Disappointed. Don’t bother going there. Not worth your time and money. I took my partner to this place last week as we were travelling and exploring KL. I was shocked by both the food quality and level of service at this premium price range. Let’s talk about the good first: The layout of the place is nice. Yes I agree with some reviews here the bar table is a bit cosy but it was manageable and unfortunately, that’s all the good things I have to say about this place. The bad: Food: We ordered the premium omakase set (~1000RM/AUD$330 per person). The quality of the fish was just average. Like many other 1 or 2 star reviews, the cut wasn’t fresh. They use a lot of caviar and foie gras in their dishes (and I guess that’s where the premium pricing is charged). That being said, I would much rather you guys spend the money on the quality of the fish and buying the right kitchen equipment. The fact that you used a normal teaspoon instead of a mother of pearl spoon to serve caviar, it shows how inexperienced the chefs are. Service: It was unclear to us how many dishes we were going to get that night as they didn’t have the premium set listed on the menu. We were very confused by the inconsistency of the dishes being served to us and the table next to us (we both got the premium set but the couple next to us came in 15min later) which leads us to the biggest mistake that this restaurant made of the night. They left out the Otoro dish for us and not until I asked the sous chef about it during dessert, she first denied it but then the head chef and her went to the back and realised they messed up. They served us the otoro after dessert and positioned it as it was a gift from the restaurant. If it was truly a gift to us, why serve it after dessert? Throughout this awkward interaction, the head chef was nowhere to be seen and there was no apologies from anyone. I understand it is embarrassing to make such simple mistakes but I much rather you own up to it than position it as it was a gift like you did us a favour. The team handled this very poorly.

Write a review about Rio Sushi, it's an omakase sushi place in Kuala Lumpur. I really enjoyed the experience they had. Every piece of sushi was amazing. The staff really paid attention to what you liked and really explained what kind of fish it was by giving implementations. Also, they had very luxurious types of sushi and the sake was very delicious and the service was super quick and nice.

Nice ambience, nice food and many variety of alcohol to choose. This restaurant definitely has a great vibe. Food is delicious and price is quite reasonable for this quality. Staff is attentive and fast serving. Overall I really enjoy the dining experience here.

3rd time back in a span of 1 year — food & service is top notch Food portions vs price is reasonable and with very fast service! We finished our meal in less than an hour 😆 What’s worth ordering: - Niku Soba or Udon - Beef Yakiniku Don - Soft Shell Crab Onsen - Black Truffle Salmon Maki / any of their makis Sashimi is very fresh too! **Recommend to make a reservation beforehand.

Hey, I grabbed some Japanese food with my coworkers at this cool little place in TTDI during lunch. It's a small Japanese-style bar, but it has a great vibe – perfect for hanging out with friends. The food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the service was awesome!
Ken H — Google review
Food taste, good. Food service, fairly fast. Price wise, reasonable. Portion like the garlic fried rice, enough for two. But their chicken wing yakitori not as good as my regular place. What i didn't like is, even sitting indoors, it was warm. Too cramped and very difficult to move around comfortably. We loved the salmon skin appetisers, so crispy and thinly sliced. The deco was very trendy and chic. But when you want to take photos, it's dark and pinkish indoors. Will definitely come again but will bring a small fan with me. This restaurant

With good Google reviews, I decided to try the food here. The food in general was pretty disappointing. And when I visited the place on a sat afternoon, there were only 2 tables including mine. We ordered the Peko Peko Moriawase and the sashimi was not very fresh, especially the tuna where the red colour was off red... Other dishes ordered were also let down. Sushi pizza seafood was extremely sweet. The hotate mentaiyaki was salty and overly sweet at the same instance. What I felt better were the round sushi and the Ebiten avocado. The price is above average but sadly the quality and taste of the food did not reach to the price point. Last fundamental point, the green tea taste bland and like water..

Love the environment, very chill and relaxing. The food is nice. Had my all time favorite Tori Kaarage, the portion is big and the chicken is juicy. Love it very much!
Siew Y — Google review
Went to Peko Peko for a birthday celebration. Honestly, I feel this place is a bit overrated and overpriced. The food didn’t taste like authentic Japanese cuisine, which was disappointing given the expectations. Nice ambiance for a celebration, but overall, not worth the hype in my opinion.

Located at level 1, they served very fresh & and high-quality sashimi. It's worth trying. Seafood pizza is also tasty. Surprise that appears in a Japanese restaurant. The service crew is very good and polite.

Sushiya is currently offering delivery services within a 10KM radius of their outlets. They have a special promotion until 26 January, featuring party sets that include complimentary salmon karaage. It's advisable to make reservations in advance as walk-ins may be turned away.
Love love love this place! Absolutely a gem, the vibe the food everything was perfect. It is a bit on the pricey side but i think because the quality is good so i dont mind paying for more. And the service was fast as well
Maisarah M — Google review
Disappointed with the quality and experience. The rolls were poorly made and lacked any real flavour. The mini udon came with just one crab stick, a bit of wakame, and tanuki — definitely not worth RM15. The Tori Kara-age (4 pieces for RM16) was completely tasteless. Chawanmushi was not bad actually. To make things worse, one of the staff was rushing around and carelessly throwing items on the table so loudly it startled my daughter. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
Emil T — Google review
When you walk in to the restaurant you’ll be greeted by several senior Japanese chefs. We were seated at the bar, we got to watch the masters at work. Truly in awe. Now to the food: 1- sashimi is a must, whichever the choice. The cuts are thick and fresh and flavoursome. Every slice was well presented in the bowl with surprises hidden. 2- grilled engawa and unagi - melted in our mouths. Fresh and well grilled. 3- fried oysters - plump and fresh, must try. Overall a fantastic experience. Price point is reasonable considering the high quality and thick cuts. Almost omakase level. Better than other similar range eg. Ishin, Tsukiji, Tenmaya etc in my opinion

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Tuna yellowtail and salmon sublime Soft shell crab and eel roll, sashimi, and grilled salmon roll Lovely atmosphere, chef from japan, so sweet and obviously take pride in their work Soooooo fresh and premium catch

The chef here, using the same cloth 1. To clean the table top 2. To clean the sink, inner layer 3. To clean the knife that prepare those shashimi slices 4. The most craziest part, to absorb the moist of those fish before dry tissue paper Basically everything with only one same cloth. Correct me if this is common Well, I spoke to the lady manager, but she seems not interested to respond.
Shing T — Google review
Very good Japanese food. Sushi is very well made. The rice is Japanese rice, nicely flavoured. Sashimi is fresh and pieces are cut in just the right thickness. Best to call and make reservations ahead, walk-ins are turned away. Dining time is 1.5hrs but the chef and team are so efficient, we were done and ready to go in an hour. Price point is a little higher than the usual shopping mall Japanese fare but well worth the money and you walk out satisfied.
Sook A — Google review
It’s a Japanese restaurant with both good food and service. The sashimi was very fresh and high-quality.
Vickie L — Google review
Price is not cheap but quality is definitely there. Whilst other places charge cheaper the cuts are also very thin. The cuts for this is super thick and fresh. This branch is nicer than the 1u branch. Shirao fish batter is light and not drenched with oil but the fish itself can sometimes be chewy and hard

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Kampachi Pavilion KL is a renowned Japanese restaurant that has been serving authentic Japanese cuisine for nearly fifty years. The restaurant prides itself on its commitment to quality, offering fresh sashimi flown in from Japan by expert buyers and prepared by Japanese chefs. While the service can be busy due to its popularity, the high-end establishment provides excellent sushi and other Japanese dishes made with top-quality ingredients.
Our first time at Kampachi and wow. The sashimi was so fresh and the food was generously portioned. Jangia was our table server and he was funny and friendly with our kids (thank you for entertaining them while they were hangry!). He suggested we try the Tosa (in-house soy sauce) for the sashimi and it was divine! Highly recommend this place and we'll definitely come back here again next time we're in KL.
JULIE S — Google review
This restaurant has been in Pavilion KL ever since they opened and it says a lot. The food quality here is consistently good. The sashimi platter was fresh and they are very generous with the wasabi too. The dishes we ordered were all good except the Zaru soba which I find it a little undercooked. Prices are on the higher side which is understandable with the quality and service they provide.
Eiling L — Google review
My partner and I visited Kampachi for her birthday, and we were served by Suzailana, Luthfi, and Luan. The food was absolutely amazing! The sashimi was incredibly fresh and thick, and the mushroom udon was a surprise delight – it was so fragrant! We also enjoyed the salmon avocado and cheese roll, which was delicious because all the ingredients complemented each other perfectly. The restaurant even accommodated my request for a surprise birthday celebration, which made me feel truly valued and appreciated. Thank you so much for the kind gesture and excellent service! Keep up the great work!

The atmosphere was very welcoming and all the waiters and waitresses were as equally as friendly! We had an amazing time eating here as their food was excellent and very delicious, will definitely come back next time~ Special compliment and recommendation to their tapanyaki sirlon, it was cooked perfectly to our preference and we enjoyed it very much!!

I’ve dined at Kampachi many times and always enjoyed the food, but this visit was extra memorable thanks to our waitress, Suzailana. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Her professionalism and kindness elevated the entire dining experience, turning a good evening into a truly special one. I don’t usually leave reviews, but Suzailana’s outstanding service deserves recognition. Thank you for making this visit one of the best I’ve had at Kampachi — it’s service like this that keeps me coming back!

We went for dinner and ordered the Zeitaku Zenmai Set. It was our first time here and it will also be our last. The food was not worth the value despite dining at a 5-stars hotel. The expectations did not match its value. I believe that the Zeitaku Zenmai Set consists of all the best-selling dishes of the restaurant - Appetiser > Appetiser was hmm we didn’t really know what we were tasting - Sashimi 3 Kinds > probably the only good thing - Chawanmushi > too salty (imo) and weird chicken smell - Tempura > too greasy, had a bad oil smell to it and the batter was not light - Main Course (Chose the Beef; other options available Cod) > the Beef was tough and overcooked - Sushi 3 pcs > fish was overly thin, ratio portion of rice was too much vs fish - Dessert (Chose the Monaka - Waffle with Matcha Ice cream & Red Bean)
Joy C — Google review
Refined Japanese food featuring certain dishes infused with subtle local flavours. Chef Takizawa has the knack for preparing homely specialities using the best seasonal ingredients and where necessary some touches to endear the food to Malaysian palates without compromising the authenticity. Spicy salmon sushi roll, Japanese curry rice and hearty miso soup with chicken and vegetables are fine examples of his approach. Elegant ambience befitting a five-star hotel with cordial, discreet service.

A Delightful Blend of Flavour and Atmosphere Zipangu Japan impresses not only with its food but with an atmosphere that truly elevates the dining experience. The sushi is notably fresh, with perfectly balanced flavours and textures. Their bentos are well-crafted, offering a satisfying variety, and the udon is wonderfully comforting, especially on cooler days. However, what really sets Zipangu apart is the ambiance and service. The warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel instantly at home, while the staff are attentive and genuinely hospitable. Their impeccable service enhances the overall experience, ensuring you’re well taken care of from start to finish. Whether you’re craving quality sushi or a full bento experience, Zipangu Japan is a spot you’ll want to return to—not just for the food but for the feeling of being in a place that values its guests.

I had a nice supper after a big day out, exploring Kuala Lumpur. Friendly staff and nice venue. The salmon nigiri was fine. The dragon roll looked impressive and was big but it was falling apart and the avocado was a bit too firm. Overall, still good and value for money

Poor food quality, not friendly services, all dish below the quality standard as 5 star hotel restaurant. The Kaiseki Sets is totally not worth as what consumer paid. The first time and the last time to visit this restaurant.

Came here for anniversary lunch with husband. Best ambience and great energy here. You suddenly feel you just fly and landed in Japan. Ordered lunch set both with beef, the thin slices one is awesome. For another tenderloin beef menu we ordered medium well, but will be better if we order medium next time (medium well not too soft anymore). The set lunch comes with appetizer such as salad, chawanmushi, hot green tea, rice. Overall nice ambience.

Nestled in the heart of KL, Ozeki Tokyo Cuisine @ Menara TA One is a well-kept secret that has been delighting patrons for over 15 years. This hidden gem attracts Japanese expats, locals, and visitors with its consistently delicious contemporary Japanese fare. The restaurant's specialty lies in its fresh sashimi, sourced from Japan twice a week.
The food is pretty high quality, I would recommend the salmon sashimi and the tuna. Their udon is also very good. The noodles are chewy and yummy. I next time I came back then I would like to try their homemade lemon soda, eel sushi etc. The price is not too expensive. There is air conditioner, so you won’t need to worry about getting hot. Although this place opens at 12:00, so you might want to come for lunch and dinner. It is close to many hotels, so it is easy to access. This restaurant this definitely recommend for many people, or parties. Since there is sake, beer etc. I will diffidently come back if I have a chance.

They have an interesting decor. Unique but can't really put my finger on the thematic idea. However, I did find the table arrangements here a little tight and close. Menu shows quite a lot of variety and if you are looking for Japanese food, I am sure you can find something in there to sate your hunger. As far as food is concerned, fresh, delicious, have good calculated portions and well cooked. I found the unagi set well portioned, fresh delicious unagi, good thick fresh sashimi and fairly hot miso soup and chawan mushi. The salmon sushi was delicious and the thick pieces of salmon was a bonus. The escargot comes fresh from the oven and piping tongue burning hot. Great oily gravy and yummy bread made this a tummy filling dish. Sadly I didn't enjoy the avacado prawn snack. I couldn't find the taste and texture balance that the chef was trying to convey and ended feeling more confusion rather than satisfaction after the eat. The halibut however was yummy. Lovely soft meat texture and having a delicious fatty layer just made it an enjoyable dish overall. I ended up the meal with satay. Or skewered meat. All of them were impressively flavoured and cooked. No tough overcooked meat and no rawness to it. This is definitely, to me at least, worth an order for sharing and snacking. In short, superb meal, interesting environment, enjoyable quiet where you can have a good conversation with your group makes this a good place to have dinner.

Very nice Japanese restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very busy so the service was a bit delayed, but it doesn't matter much. There were a few tables around us that were Japanese, so that tells you that this place is authentic!

Took my parents here for dinner to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and the experience was absolutely lovely from start to finish. The first thing that stood out was the commendable service. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to respond to any request. It’s rare to find service that feels both efficient and genuinely kind. The food was well worth it – we were impressed by their set menu options, which offered a variety that you don’t often see elsewhere. Every dish arrived on time and tasted great. No complaints here. What made the evening extra special was how they handled the birthday celebration. We brought our own cake slices, and they kindly plated them for us and even sang a birthday song – such a thoughtful gesture. Will return for sure.

Japanese cuisine restaurant selling with lot of sake / Japanese alcohol choice. Atmosphere was clean and comfortable. Service crew are attentive. Foods served within reasonable times. The portion of food (see lunch) is relatively small with the reasonable/matched the price range on the set lunch meal. The price are on the higher side on sushi and others food on the menu. Parking lot are very limited provided at Menara TA and the parking rate are expensive (1 hour plus cost rm9).
Suzanne T — Google review
High quality food, creative dishes, one of the best sushis I’ve had. Service is top notch. A bit pricey but totally worth it. Would recommend the set menus which are huge and offer a variety of dishes. Had a set menu + a roll + a small chef’s sushi and didn’t leave hungry at all. The AC was a bit chilly for me, so if you don’t like cold, bring a light scarf!
La G — Google review
The food was exceptionally authentic and delicious. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the Wagyu beef was so tender it melted in my mouth. The zaru soba was the best I've had outside of Japan. While a bit pricey, the set meals were well worth the cost.

From the briny freshness of the oyster topped with delicate garnishes, to the rich, buttery uni on crisp toast, and the perfectly cooked wagyu with its deep, velvety sauce — every dish feels thoughtful and balanced. Even the desserts are light yet satisfying, a perfect ending that lingers without being heavy. All around spectacular. It's a bit of a drive out of central KL, but once you're inside it's an experience to savor. We opted for the vegetarian menu, which was requested ahead of time, and we were blown away by the ingenuity and quality of each course. I believe it was 7 or 8 courses in all, each one completely unique and beautifully presented, with a measured amount of Malaysian and Japanese influence. Service was on point and personable. They brought out a cake to celebrate my wife's birthday :) Our parting gift was some delectable macarons.I couldn't help but imagine chef Darren Chin honing his craft in Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, then coming back home to offer such excellence to his people. He came out of the kitchen with a smile to bid us adieu. We left with hearts and bellies full, and look forward to our return next time we're in town.

It stays true to traditional Japanese techniques while incorporating ingredients from around the world to create a contemporary twist. The modern decor and music create a friendly and cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying their wide selection of food and beverage items. It’s been a while since I last came here. The place looks refreshed after the renovation, and I was really looking forward to the food I used to enjoy. The taste is still there—maybe a little different from how I remember, but still satisfying. Portion sizes do seem smaller now compared to before, which is a bit of a letdown.

The quickest way to get here from the car park:- Enter Publika East Entrance car park. After passing the barrier park at the D pillar areas. Take the lift up to G3 and u are have arrived. We we are there at 5.30pm on a public holiday Monday and was offered a table for 1 hour only. Presumably they have reservations to fulfill later. We ordered using the tablet and food arrived and consumed within the hour. Food was tasty and decent quality. We had just 2 items before our 2 hour drive back home. Will come again since I know the best place to park. All forms of payments accepted

Good Japanese restaurant in Publika, Dutamas. Senya has the authentic Japanese vibes - good food in casual dining space. Ordered the lunch special Pork Katsu with Miso soup. Meal is beautiful and tasty - pork is a too fatty at the edge 😂for my liking. Overall still very enjoyable.

Haven’t been here for a long time, came here for dinner finally, food taste is still good and price is quite reasonable. Food serve is quite fast for some food, some a little slow. They renovated the place, it looks bigger and more spacious.

Senya is a solid spot if you’re craving Japanese food with generous portions and great taste. The salmon is fresh, the bento sets are well-balanced, and the ramen broth is flavorful. Their grilled dishes especially stand out—juicy and cooked to perfection. Ambience is cozy and modern, good for casual dinners or small gatherings. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality makes it worth it. Service is friendly and efficient too. Definitely a go-to for Japanese food lovers!

I went during public holiday lunch time, I think they lack of staff to serve. It quite hard to call the staff even I pressed the call staff button multiple times. The Hokkaido pork is really amazing. I love the matcha pudding and shima hokke. The salmon belly is fresh but the size is getting smaller. The first 2 pieces only equivalent to 1 pc, I feel I only get 4 pc instead of 5 pcs.
Su F — Google review
I’ve been eating at Senya @ Publika on and off for the past 10 years. Used to love it because the food was fresh and delicious. Every time there was a change in ownership, I’d give it another try and I’ve been eating here again for the past few months. But lately, it’s been really disappointing. The sashimi portions have gotten way smaller, the ikura is tiny and doesn’t taste fresh. Took one bite and totally lost my appetite. This place was never cheap, but I didn’t mind paying more when the quality was there. Now I’m seriously wondering if they’ve switched to lower-grade sashimi. If that’s the case, it’s really not worth it anymore. This will be my last time here.

Mitasu Bukit Bintang is a Japanese restaurant located in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. Situated in the golden triangle, it offers a laid-back atmosphere and serves Japanese fusion cuisine, set meals, sushi, and sashimi. The restaurant features various dining areas including a disclosed area, semi-disclosed area, bar counter, and a private room. It is easily accessible by public transport and offers an extensive menu ranging from Ala Carte dishes to a popular Japanese sushi buffet.
What an experience! I found this place while looking for Japanese restaurants on maps and was intrigued by the reviews and decided to give it a try. First time I went by they were fully booked, but they booked me in for the following day. And was very glad to go. The buffet menu was very exciting and had many items I never tried before. The quality of the food, especially sea food, was very excellent and I sampled a few items and wished I could eat more. Eventually after rounds of sampling, my stomach was waving the white flag. I would definitely come back again. The price was very reasonable, came up to 90+MR, which is fair compared to others with same type in the area. Go go it, highly recommend!

Probably one of the most satisfying buffet experiences I’ve had! I made a reservation a few weeks in advance to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday — we both love Japanese food, and this place did not disappoint 🥹💖 Service was great 👍🏼 and there was no dining time limit, so we didn’t feel rushed at all. The seafood was super fresh — truly living the salmon dream 😮‍💨🤤 Everything on the menu was available to order freely, and the food came out really fast too! The environment was lovely and calm. Definitely coming back again! Oh — and we ended the meal with three scoops of ice cream 🍧: chocolate, matcha, and black sesame. Perfect finish! ❤️

The food here is extremely fresh and delicious. The staff is extremely quick and enthusiastic, I really like the working style of the staff here. The time to serve food is also very fast, about 5 minutes or less, you can order many dishes at once so you don't have to wait.
Trần T — Google review
We came for the unlimited buffet which we were very excited for. Everything was impeccable you could really taste the freshness. But the service was extremely slow, not only to order our food but waiting for each dish. Our hunger started to go with the wait that we weren't able to order as much as we would have liked. And because we didn’t want to wait any longer to order or wait for any more dishes. It did unfortunately put a dampener on our experience. It is extremely affordable and if we had more time on our holiday we would have liked to have gone back. You can't just turn up as its very popular but you also can't call and book because they dont answer the phone, so we had to walk in and book the day before, when we stated we tried calling they didn't really have an answer and just tried to focus on us making the booking now. I think if they work on these things it will make the experience lot more enjoyable

⚠️ Extremely Disappointed with Mitasu Bukit Jalil ⚠️ I honestly need to say this — the food quality was so bad and totally unacceptable for a place that calls itself a Japanese buffet. The sashimi was not fresh at all, had a smelly aftertaste, and clearly wasn’t handled properly. I love sashimi, but this was honestly disgusting and far from what’s expected. The beef was inconsistent — the first plate looked fresh, but the second one came with a weird color and smelled off, definitely not fresh. How can the same item be served so differently in one sitting? And the vegetables… just terrible. They were wilted, old-looking, and tasted like leftovers from yesterday. It’s shocking that they still served this to customers. For a restaurant like Mitasu, this kind of poor quality and lack of freshness is really disappointing. Please do better — customers deserve safe and fresh food, not this kind of experience.
Theon T — Google review
New addition on buffet. The beef is better than chewy butteryaki beef and lamb. Seafood is decent. Plenty of dipping sauce. Sashimi is thicker cut than used to be. They have upgrade cushion chairs from old wooden not comfy one. Self ordering through phone now. No more waiting for server to order. They seem take off pickle cucumber from menu. Can’t find it. Wine is not on digital menu. Still need to order from server.

Mitasu Bukit Bintang is a spacious Japanese buffet spot known for its wide selection - sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, tempura and more. Though always busy, the prices are considered reasonable for the freshness and variety.

Iki Omakase in Malaysia offers a memorable dining experience with its Xmas Eve Noburu menu. While there is a deposit required to secure seats, the food presentation and taste are exceptional. The head chef, who is Japanese, personally introduces each dish and explains the cooking methods. The ambience is pleasant and the staff are friendly. Guests can choose from unique combinations like Youya Omakase and Nobiru Omakase for an enjoyable dining experience at Iki Omakase.
We enjoyed everything from start to the end. The reception staff, server to the chef, everyone was very meticulous and observant. The ambience was pleasant for us to have a quiet meal. Chef Marcus was friendly and made very nice courses for us. Was also told that they have a Yakitori branch which is open from 5pm onwards for dinner. Would definitely love to visit again whenever we come to KL!

An unforgettable omakase experience! Every dish was a masterpiece — beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The vibe? Elegant yet cozy. What really impressed me was the service — the staff noticed I’m left-handed and subtly switched my chopstick rest without a word. That level of thoughtfulness? Rare. 10/10.
Wikanda P — Google review
Partner brought me here and the experience is great! Calm and peaceful ambience. Staffs were all very professional. The chef will start preparing according your eating pace.

The sushi lunch set here memang value for money. Portion not bad, quite filling also, and price very reasonable. Fish all very fresh, and the chef really tahu what he’s doing. I really enjoy the variety — every piece got its own feel, and presentation also very nice one. For this kind of quality, memang susah to find at this price. If you want to try proper omakase without pokai, this place confirm boleh! Sure will come back again.

Tbh. It was just okay. Not sure where the high review came from.. for me, the ingredients was fine but nothing special or creative. And me no like the attitude of the chef which I forgotten his name where he kept on condemning other omakase place which I find it irritating as I don’t pay to listen his yap… and he even dare to tease me when I said the course was not fulfilling - that u should get a don instead. Never mind. Surely not gonna visit but then the ingredient is okay, it is fresh. Service moderate lo they maintain an omakase standard. Atmosphere also so so only

A friend recommended us to come here. The food is fresh and flavourful, watching the chef prepare every meal is a work of art. The ambience makes you feel very relaxed, good place for adults to chill and eat.

Best jap food in KL! Came here after lunch to accompany my mother. Ate another round of food and it was still AMAZING!! Pork Cutlet was fried to perfection. Chawamushi so smooth!!

Give this place a miss. Is not worth the time. Picture on the menu does not tally to the label. Food coming out not what was ordered with the waiter. Simple fried tofu in soy sauce “agedashi tofu” did not even arrive after 1 hour. Kimchi Salmon Head Nabe also took over 1 hour to arrive. Maybe went next door to TRX to buy fresh fish head. Ordered two portions of tempura and did not come. Staff don’t understand basic instructions. Parking is very limited.

Price doesn’t justify with the food. Nothing great but expensive. There are many Japanese restaurants are doing better in the food and the staffs dress very professionally. One thing it is different because it has nice garden feel when you walk in and feel like home.

Just 5pax of us. Waiting time was too long and food came out 1 pax after another and the interval was more than 20 mins each time. Squid was way overcooked! Came last as well as the salmon kimchi head nabe hot pot after almost an hour. Not coming back again. Not in the mood for more. We went elsewhere for desserts.

Gyu tendon set was good. Applause👏👏👏👏👏. Seiro Scallop set a bit disappointed. That's always my choice to come to Fukuya. The scallop taste has changed. Before there're wasn't have crispy garlic flake and strong taste. Perhaps they had change another version. I personally prefer the very old version which is light and clear that can enjoy the taste of the scallop and the clear sauce. The rice is fluffly but no sauce causes it a bit dry. After finish scooping until the end only notice that they do put sauce BUT the sauce had all leaked out thru the bottom of the bamboo basket because the bamboo leave that layered under the rice is overly too small size which cause the sauce all leaked out to the bottom of the plate and as well as the rice all stick between of the bottom bamboo basket and can't take out. I hope you hear me. As I still would like to come again.😊

Nestled within a lot in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, the establishment is beautifully decorated with greens and water features. There are several independent rooms of different sizes. Service is good, polite and fast. The establishment is clean, comfortable and seating is well spaced apart. Food is quite good. The saba shioyaki is well cooked. The rice is nice and smooth. The set also comes with pickles, chawan mushi and miso soup. The only downside is the chawan mushi, which while smooth and flavorful, has bubbles on the surface. The set, however, doesn’t come with drinks, so order green tea or your own beverages. In general, well worth a visit. Cost-wise the restaurant is not much higher than similar Japanese restaurants. It is definitely picturesque and do takes some good for photos for memories while you are there.

Everything is just so good! Ambience and setup and the food. Even a yakiniku rice is superb! The Shashimi set is nice too.

Fukuya has been around for quite some time with its new location (just next door) being a tranquil oasis within the bustling KL streets. Nestled in a beautiful Japanese garden, there are various pockets of dining areas that allow you to dine privately. I absolutely love their set meals - authentic food at very reasonable prices. At a price range of approx. RM 55, the set comes with sashimi, tempura, oden, chawanmushi, salad, fruits on top of the main meal. Very satisfying with generous portions and food is of good quality. Service is also fantastic and this is my go to place for a good business / work lunch.

Ichi Zen Pavilion KL is a popular Japanese restaurant that offers traditional dishes like sushi and sashimi. They have a wide variety of options to choose from, including flavorful Ramen. The focus at Ichi Zen is on freshness, and they do not disappoint in this regard. Both children and adults enjoy dining here, as the quality of the food is maintained while keeping the prices reasonable. The restaurant also serves other snacks and food items that are equally satisfying.
I’ve been to Ichi Zen a few times, but this visit was especially satisfying. The sashimi platter (Natsu) was beautifully sliced and fresh — especially loved the scallop and sweet shrimp. The unagi crispy roll was my personal favourite: crunchy on the outside, soft and flavourful inside. Their tonkotsu soup came as a surprise. It is comforting, rich but not greasy, and the pork slices were super tender. I also tried the truffle shirataki, which was light, springy, and had that earthy truffle note without being too strong. Another must-mention: the salmon mini pizza. It's basically crispy gyoza skin topped with a creamy salmon-avocado mix fun and addictive.
Sue C — Google review
We’ve been regular customers of Ichi Zen Japanese Restaurant for many years – it’s always been our go-to spot for Japanese food whenever we visit Pavilion. The taste remains consistent and enjoyable, which is why we keep coming back. However, during our most recent visit, we noticed a slight change – the portion sizes have noticeably decreased. Here’s what we ordered: 1️⃣ Ebi Tempura (RM25) – Crispy and well-fried as always, but the number and size of prawns were fewer compared to before. 2️⃣ Tonkatsu Set Lunch (RM23) – Delicious and satisfying, but the pork cutlet portion was smaller than usual. 3️⃣ Salmon Toro Teriyaki (RM27) – Still one of our favourites, but the serving size was quite small this time. The service was still fast and friendly, and the food quality remains good. However, with a bill totaling RM90, the value felt slightly underwhelming this time. To the management: We genuinely love this place and hope it continues to do well. Perhaps consider refreshing the interior a little, as it’s starting to look a bit dated. Also, the menus could use a reprint – some of them have an odd smell and are worn out. We’ll continue supporting the restaurant, and look forward to improvements in the near future!

The ramen set is such great value for money - only RM29.90 and you get 1 ramen, 1 side dish (like sushi, tempura, etc), and even 1 ice-cream! Portions are generous, and everything is yummy 😋

Ichi Zen Pavilion delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The menu boasts an impressive range of dishes, from fresh sashimi and sushi to hearty ramen and flavorful teppanyaki. A highlight is their creamy mentaiko noodle, served with fresh cabbage, tender meat, and a perfectly cooked onsen egg. The rich, savory sauce is balanced by the light crunch of vegetables, making each bite satisfying. Portions are generous, and presentation is elegant. Service is attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Whether for a casual lunch or a special dinner, Ichi Zen Pavilion is a must-visit for Japanese food lovers.

I was here this evening for dinner. It was my first time here - I am currently visiting Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru. I was fortunate even to secure a booth seating for my dinner here. I ordered a Buta Kakuni Ramen that was very good and chock-full of proteins; a Chuka Wakame that was refreshingly good; an platter of Salmon Belly Sashimi that was only thick cut but in big slices also; and I also a glass of refreshing fresh Lemon Juice. Overall, I enjoyed my selections very very much. Service here was very good - very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant if you in need of some very good Japanese food.

They have a large menu selection. Portions are on the smaller side but it’s enough food. Overall food was good and enjoyable. Truffle fried rice was very tasty.

Ordered Ishiyaki Unagi Meshi, but unfortunately, it was a really disappointing experience. The rice was served extremely hot — so hot that I couldn’t eat it right away. After waiting and blowing on it to cool down, I finally took a bite, only to find the rice was burnt and hard. The texture was terrible and made it hard to enjoy the dish. For RM48, I expected much better quality and taste. Definitely not worth the price!

This restaurant is located inside ISetan. They got two section, one is where you order and have a seat to wait for the food; the other is refrigerator area where you can buy bentos and onigiris, you can also ask the restaurant to heat the food. The decorations is like the Izaya style where you can find in Japan, small and pack. One side is for one seated in a row, the other side are four seated. The food is ok and has quite a large portion, especially the curry chicken rice. The service was actually good despite what other people said, it is just that they are always bombard with customers which make them don't have enough time to serve all of them. Do note that all their foods in the menu are tax exclusive, which mean you have to pay more.

Senya restaurant is located at the isetan food market in KLCC mall. They both cater to dine in and take out. When we got there they offer 30% off on sushi and other rice meals. Great for people who are in a hurry... The food ranges from 15-30MYR which is affordable. Ofcourse, quality is so-so as you expect the food to be there whole day already. You may also order other food that they can cook for you if you want. Overall taste is good, but really more of a fast food.

Spicy tori paitan was good 👍 😋 curry katsu udon could use more flavor and perhaps can separate the pickled items instead of putting into the curry. For price, portion was huge so only if you're a big eater.

Seriously enjoyed the omakase here (We chose the RM480++ Sushi Full Course). The fish was SO fresh and the Japanese chef who served us at the counter was great to watch. Portions were generous and the price felt really fair for the quality... We left, as the very last guests that night, super happy and tummy full. Definitely will be back for more of that delicious, authentic experience. (AUG 2024)

The omakase experience was disappointing. The sushi was large, but the service fell short. While the head chef was Japanese, the rest of the team, including the sushi chef and assistant, were local. Unfortunately, the head chef didn’t serve us a single piece of sushi. The kitchen was chaotic, with staff frequently asking each other where ingredients were stored and shouting ready for cooked dishes. The chef who served us was not friendly—he only mentioned what was being served, with little interaction or warmth. Overall, it lacked the smooth, refined experience that I will expect from an omakase.

We’re from Cambodia, and we had been there on 23-Oct-2025 as our first try with Omakase course experience by making a reservation via their WhatsApp contact. The Malaysian chef was very friendly and we could communicated well with both English and Chinese.Sadly, I forgot to ask his name. We tried the full sushi course, all the ingredients are fresh and the each sushi’s is big (for ladies, please make 2 or 3 bites, otherwise you’ll get choked as I did T_T) and no worry, this course will make you very full enough. (Note: my attached photos missed a course of 3pcs sashimi) Their services were good, all staffs are very friendly, got seated as soon as we arrived, and got served very promptly during the meal. Would recommend this restaurant to my friends and families. ❤️

Had an unforgettable omakase at Hanaya KL – the quality of the ingredients and the service were absolutely outstanding! Every dish was prepared and presented to perfection, from silky chawanmushi with unagi to premium sushi topped with uni, ikura, and caviar. The wagyu was grilled beautifully, and the team went above and beyond with their warm hospitality, even surprising us with a birthday photo memento. Truly top-notch and highly recommended for special occasions!

Each sushi is a larger portion then usual Omakase’s. However, number of sushi is lesser. It is still an enjoyable experience! Taste is good! Quite pricey, but if you will pay Omakase prices, then this is not too extreme in that price range.

Found this spot by scrolling on google maps. Food was pretty good and everyone enjoyed it. Pricing wise can be a little high if you don’t manage it well. I felt that it’s justified to a certain extend. Service was good until they messed up 3 items on our table by being slow and miscommunication on an order. Overall, would return if I want Japanese food and nearby.

Used to be quite good, but my recent visit in Sep 2025 left me disappointed. Some of the cutlery and glasses have a musty wet cloth smell. The sushi rice was a little too sour and acidic, not quite the right balance. And the staff were a little aloof, need more training. It's a nice location, good menu with a comfortable interior, so I hope they sort out their operations and improve.

The restaurant's new location offers an elegant ambiance with a modern twist on authentic Japanese cuisine.
You pay 3 times more here than you would in a mid class Japanese Restaurant...but the food quality here is exceptionally good. The salad (Rm28) portion was big. Sauce was really nice, tangy and refreshing. The seafood bowl (Rm180) was top with extremely fresh seafood. No veins were found in any of the seafood pieces, so tender and fresh. The tenzaru soba (Rm88) was made so well, the stock was full of umami flavour. The tenderloin (Rm165) was very well cooked.. Meat so tender and juicy. Soft shell crab roll (Rm42) was normal but the Negi Toro roll (Rm52) was filled with melt in your mouth flavourful tuna. Tori karaage (rm52) was delicious but we think the Robatayaki's one is nicer. Overall, very enjoyable experience with exceptionally friendly staff. And of course, view was fantastic here.. We can enjoy the beautiful KL skyline when we had our dinner.

Slightly above average Japanese izakaya style joint at level 53 of Altitude. Sashimis were expectedly fresh. The cooked dishes passed the OK test. The bottled beer of tiger taste funny (iron) but was too engrossed in conversations to get them to change. Prices were pretty astronomical. RM400+ for sashimi platter (7 fish) and RM40 for bottled beer. The premium in pricing is for the view for sure.

The foie gras wagyu Don and salmon sashimi are superb 👌🏼 While the kaki fry was decent, there’s definitely room for refinement in flavor and freshness.

Sushi Tei, established in 1994, has carved out a unique identity by blending the art of sashimi with teppanyaki, offering an extraordinary Japanese dining experience. The restaurant's distinctive decor is a hallmark of its locations across various cities. Sushi Tei is renowned for its diverse selection of sashimi and its signature dish, the Bara Kaisen Don, which features marinated seafood cubes atop sushi rice—a delectable and satisfying choice for any visitor.
Delicious, fresh and good quality sushi. I didn’t quite like the ebi gyoza and this weird fish (not cooked properly, has scales on it and raw batter) on the special menu. Service is great because less customers and many staff during a weekday dinner
Sweet T — Google review
Had a quick lunch at this place, arrived at about 12 noon, thus was able to grasp a place to dine in. Ala carte menu is quite complete with wide range of common Japanese dishes. It also offer bench seat for sushi conveyor option. Food taste is good, seats however is limited especially during lunch time of working days. Do come early for lunch during working day if you don't want to miss dining here.

Sushi Tei, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Great place for Japanese food. Find the dishes here tasty... using fresh ingredients. Enjoy the regular Japanese food offered in the daily lunch promotion and curious to try their dishes. Great place for gatherings as it is located conveniently beside the malls.
William W — Google review
Because of its location in the walkway between KL Sentral Station and Nu Sentral Mall, this branch seems to be perpetually packed, and during lunch hours on weekdays, there would be a long line lasting up to 30 minutes. However, there is a reason why this place is so popular. There are reasonably priced lunch and dinner meal sets that are a good portion. The food tastes fresh and is well-seasoned. Despite the crowds on the Friday afternoon I was there, the manager/head was so polite. Even though customers were calling him midstride, he was still professional and courteous to explain what items were on the menu and responded speedily to our requests to top up the green tea. The food tasted great and all the waiters were efficient and alert. I would definitely recommend anyone to come visit this Sushi Tei branch for a good casual Japanese dining experience.

Decent Japanese restaurant at Nu Sentral - been a few times and food is always consistent .. service is prompt and get in early for lunch or you will wait a while to be seated. Good value and fresh tasty food
Matt C — Google review
Good location, excellent taste, reasonable prices for the quality of food and services provided. Alcohol is rather expensive. Can be a bit crowded in the afternoon. I like the NU Sentral branch the most.
Kalabatu S — Google review
Tried Sushi Tei for the first time. The service is okay and the food is normal. Nothing extravagant or extraordinary sushi or sashimi. If you are in a hurry, this is the place to go for a quick lunch or dinner. The staffs should pay more attention on customers' needs such as refill the table utilities etc. The wasabi is one of the worst I ever tried. The tan tan ramen is tasty.
Jane W — Google review
Quite disappointed with the quality of food here. They have a large selection of food available, however after we placed our order they informed us a few our dishes were not available. The quality of the food was below average and tasted old and dry. Would not return nor would I recommend.

Shin Zushi Bukit Jalil is a top omakase restaurant that has quickly risen to prominence in Johor. It has set a new standard for fine dining in the city, offering an exquisite dining experience with the freshest seasonal ingredients served on elegant dishware in a serene setting. The attentive service further enhances the overall dining experience. This spot is highly recommended for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts, as it offers authentic and well-presented dishes at reasonable prices with generous portions.
Worth the queue! There’s always a line, but it moves fast and the food is totally worth it. The salmon don and unagi roll were amazing. Staff were polite and efficient, and everything came out fast and beautifully presented…! Definitely lov it
Desmond — Google review
Totally disappointed with the service and experience here. Despite clearly having a large table available, the staff assigned it to a group of two; meanwhile, our group of five was awkwardly placed at the bar counter. Common sense? Apparently not part of the training manual. Been operating since 2014, but apart from increasing prices and reducing the portion, it seems there has been zero improvement in service, system, or professionalism. Still running without any proper queue or food-order tracking system? That’s just bad operations, full stop.
Crist N — Google review
The food was okay, but the service was seriously disappointing. They cleared my plate without even asking — basic manners would be to check first. What if I still wanted the sauce? Once their hands touched the plate, it’s impossible to continue eating. The staff’s reaction afterward looked as if I had insulted them. The place also felt very stuffy and uncomfortable. Honestly, I really didn’t feel like paying the 10% service charge, but what can we do since we already ate. On top of that, they didn’t tick off one of the orders, and we weren’t sure if it was actually served because all the sushi looked quite similar. When we asked, they replied rudely saying “we served already.” We just let it go, but the attitude really ruined the whole experience.

Caught up with a friend, her husband, and their daughter over dinner here. We ordered soft shell crab, sushi rolls, chawanmushi, and vegetable tempura — everything was fresh and nicely done. Cozy, laid-back place that’s great for casual catch-ups.

Great experience, worth the queue. My family and I enjoyed the food really much. The cuts for the sashimi is big and thick. The price is really reasonable. Parking is rather difficult during lunch hours.

Shin Zushi serves the best sushi and sashimi I’ve ever had, the fish is incredibly fresh and flavorful. I also tried one of their pork donburi (I forgot the exact name) and it was delicious. The grilled squid is freshly cooked too, perfectly done so it’s soft and easy to bite, not tough or chewy. Despite the long queue, they have a good system in place so everything moves smoothly. Definitely worth the wait!

Kame Sushi offers an authentic omakase experience, where diners entrust the chef to create a personalized meal. It is a popular spot among locals and Japanese expatriates. The sushi is meticulously handcrafted using fresh ingredients flown in from Japan twice a week, including tuna, shrimp, salmon, and eel. On select days when new fish arrives, the chef surprises patrons with offerings like Hokkaido crabs with delectable roe and tender flesh.
I would say it’s a rare find! It’s located at the second floor, and the signage looks a bit old, but the sushi were great! It’s a set menu, not cheap, but it was totally worth it. The sashimi were fresh and all thick cut, gave us a mouthful of surprises.

It took me not less than 20 visits to this restaurant before I dare say this is by far the BEST sushi place in KL. 2 thumbs up for Kame-san, who always put his heart & soul into each and every piece of sushi 👍👍

RM350/pax (including 16% tax) for lunch omakase. Not meet up to my expectation. Don't think the food worth the price. Wasabi is worse. Rice is hard and not fresh at all. The dessert is just a sesame ice cream, totally disappointed. Difficult to get parking. Will not come back again

SSS (Super Special Sushi). very fresh and tasty, real Sushi made by professional Sushi master chef. Surely pricy but it has to be to keep the quality
Y S — Google review
Had a great omakase (sushi only because I'm such a fan of good sushi) experience here. The menu (what menu??) Is pretty flexible here, so I'd recommend walking in and just handing the reins over to the chef - just be happy to be surprised at every delicious dish that comes out and sad when it ends. The damage came up to about RM350-450 per pax for 13-15 pieces of sushi, which is pretty reasonable considering the fresh and quality ingredients. One of the best sushi places in KL in my honest opinion. The rice is firm and tasty, the seafood is super fresh. Notable ones include the crab roe sushi, bonito, uni (wow so fresh) and torched otoro. Highly recommended! I'll be back!!! Update: great deals available for lunchtime. With sushi sets ranging from 8 pieces (RM150) to 15 pieces (RM250). With other meals like donburi, curry and noodles too!

Very fresh and good sashimi they provide. The urchin, so far the best I’ve ever had in Malaysia, so creamy! But they only serve one type of omakase which cost rm400++ per person. And to add on, there are some choices of udon and soba! Food taste: 5/5 Price: 400++/pax Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 5/5

This joint has been around for quite some time in the Hartamas area. It has to said, with prices starting from RM200 onwards for omakase one has to expect top notch quality. Excellent food, drinks and service! Its very rare to find good quality Japanese establishments with great service nowadays. Their service is top notch even though we arrived wearing quite casually. We were seated upstairs right in the corner which gave us a nice "private" feel. We were looking for Japanese food for dinner. Was recommended to try this place. Was not disappointed. The sashimi platter were very fresh which went well with the fresh wasabi (extra charges for this). The highlight were the chirashi don, the chawan mushi, grilled salmon head, and the wagyu beef. Overall good food, good service and nice ambience for quiet dinner.

Came here for the weekday set lunch, booked a table for 11, and was seated in a nice private space upstairs. Food was overall not bad, but sadly, the experience ruined the meal for some of us. Two of us had to leave hungry because their meals never arrived, even after an hour. We had to cancel it because it wasn't even being prepared yet.

I had a great experience at The KINME Sashimi & Grill Bar. The place is nice and comfy, making it a pleasant spot to dine. The staff are very friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. They offer a wide selection of set lunches starting at RM18, which includes food, a drink, salad, and ice cream (excluding Service Charge and SST). One the best okonomiyaki for me That provided the head chef is there My recent one was still ok only setback if you see this certain cabbage still raw……. I visited them more than 5 times throughout when they opened… They have the best okonomiyaki - seafood which i always love. Their potato salad also its good… Miso soup was good. Only i dont like their noodle- too peppery for me. Maybe its their style but the pepper i find it too over powering Overall still my go to place if i need my okonomiyak fix.

In 2019, we went to visit Sapporo, Hokkaido for the first time. We lived in Chicago for almost a decade back then, so we had a 14 hours jet lag. At night, we could not sleep and decided to go walk after midnight. Many shops were already closed, but we found a 24 hour open onigiri (rice ball) shop. I ordered a very simple butter salmon onigiri, which made me start crying. Every element in that onigiri was perfect. And I missed Japanese foods, and the nostalgia from my childhood kicked in and moved me. Today was the day of our beloved pet passing 2 years ago. After work, we were emotional and did not feel like cooking, so we decided to go to walk in Pavilion, Bukit Bintang. Some shops had a long waiting line and somehow I chose this place for dinner. I was born in Osaka, but I did not eat Okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake dish) for a while living outside of Japan. Okonomiyaki is one of Osaka's famous dish. So I ordered Okonomiyaki set in here tonight. It was perfect. It made me cry. All ingredients were so good even the simple seasoned spinach. The Okonomiyaki itself reminded me of my childhood and I suddenly remembered my lost pet very strongly. I loved everything I had here. They were proactive to prepare everything we need to enjoy our dinner. I felt respect from their service. I recommend this place. This place is the one worth the wait. I was so happy we came here tonight. I thank everyone who worked for us very much.

Ginza Sushimasa, located in Kuala Lumpur, offers a remarkable Omakase experience known for its molecular gastronomy. The restaurant is renowned for its stunning sushi and fish dishes prepared by Murakami and Tanaka. While the Omakase dinner may be a significant expense, priced at around RM800 per person, it promises an exceptional culinary journey.
Ginza Sushimasa originating from Japan has been serving traditional omakase for nearly 10 years in KL, by two Japanese chefs with over 20 years of culinary experience 👨‍🍳 Every course was skillfully prepared using only top quality Japanese seafood directly imported twice a week from Toyusu fish market. 🎣 I had the Hagi lunch omakase consisting of an appetiser, today’s dish, chawanmushi, 5 pieces of sushi, a delicious Chirashi bowl, soup and dessert at RM360. 😋 The minimalistic zen atmosphere beautifully reflects the authenticity and traditional omakase served here💯

Dined at the countertop, hence the service was pretty decent. Servers were attentive to ensure the tea is always refilled and the whipping the condensations of the cups. As for the food, there were no complains. Their signature halibut was the highlight of the night. However, it is a bit too pricey without any new innovations.

Everything was served at once and in a hurry even though we were the only table the whole night. The manager was very rude since the beginning of the dinner. She had tell her staff off and started her lesson in our private room which had caused us very much discomfort. Another server was totally off manner when she pick the rim of teacup from above with all 5 fingers without even apologising when requested for a change. Her kimono sleeves run through the plate while she, on my left side reached out for the teacup of the person on my right. How bizarre is this. The manager had then started to chase us out at 9.45pm and had ordered 2 other servers including herself to stand in our room right next to our table by saying "go in and watch them" right in our presence. She had also ordered us to finished up the drink by adding the word quickly. Worst service ever. Never had imagined I would be able to witness such ridiculous service. Ruined the omakase experience. Not worth trying.

The quality of the fish is actually very good. But the service was very disappointing. All the omakase courses were served in one plate and they didn’t explain anything about the food being served. Also while we were still eating our sushi they served the dessert and tried to clear the plates too fast. Doesn’t worth the money I must say.
Elena C — Google review
Decent food but appalling service delivery. No explanation on the food you’re getting even for a 650 per head omakase session. All sushi served at the same time, no attention to detail to temperature of rice and fish. Constantly seemed in a hurry to chase you away. Honestly poor experience compared to likes of Sushi Ori, Hibiki or Edju. They need to keep the chefs but change up their entire service team!

Yakitori restaurant
Kingu Kongu in Kuala Lumpur offers a unique halal izakaya experience, featuring a variety of Japanese dishes such as yakitori, grilled meats and seafood, sashimi, sushi, and rice bowls. Visitors recommend trying the salmon mentai ball for its melt-in-your-mouth texture without any fishiness. Additionally, the unagi with foie gras is highly praised for its deliciousness even by those who are not typically fans of salmon.
Arrived at 9 pm and parked just opposite the eatery. Immediately greeted with a queue of three other customers/tables. It only took about five minutes for the staff to arrange seats for everyone, and there were still some vacant tables inside. But when I tell you the customers there talk really loudly, I’m not exaggerating, I literally had to shout just to talk to my friends. We ordered online through the QR code. Most of the menu features handcrafted mentai dishes with salmon as the main protein, though they also offer soft shell crab, chicken, and duck options, as well as rice bowls. We ordered the Salmon Mentai Truffle Bomb, Tuna Tataki, Salmon Mentai Bomb, Cheesy Unadon, and Beef Patty, averaging RM28 per dish, with a total of RM198. I don’t enjoy salmon at all, but when I tried their dish, I knew salmon lovers would love it. Overall, the place is noisy, but it has a toilet, warm service from the staff, and dishes worth coming back for. I’d definitely return to try other items on the menu!

First time eating here, the environment felt Japanese especially with the decoration. You can order the food online and they serve quite fast. Taste wise, some were good, some not to my liking, but of course each taste bud is different. Price wise, slightly on the pricey side, and difficult to get parking. Got myself a summon for parking at non designated area. Overall experience, good. Will I come again? Maybe.

Some items were quite heavy with the mayo / sauce / cheese eg california maki. Unagi don tasted fine, but i wished portion was a bit more generous. Also had some mayo in it. Zaru soba was very basic for its price (RM26) nothing memorable. Grilled sotong was fine, came with a lighter thai inspired sauce, and a spicy mayo(?) sauce. Price point is a bit on the higher side imo. Service is quick. Parking difficult, the whole area has very limited parking.

I came solo, but honestly the portion here is quite big, more suitable for 2–3 pax. My Review: Zaru Soba (RM26) – 7/10, reminds me of the cold soba I had in Japan. Almost similar taste, meaning they did a great job on this Salmon Mentai Ball (RM30) – 9.5/10, wajib try! Creamy. I ate 2 and already full 😆 Los Angeles Maki (RM30) – 6/10, honestly just feels like a normal sushi, nothing special Overall, I loved the salmon dishes the most 😊

Most importantly, this place is HALAL certified, and i cudnt be more greatful for it. We love the vibe of the place, with most of its patrons are from amongst the GenZ's, i gues they love the vibe too 😊. Food wise, i have nothing to complaint but only praises ❤🥰 the salmon n tuna sashimi are fresh. A must try! The cheesy chicken gyoza is good too.. with just the right amount of cheese pull. And lastly the California maki is so luscious too. Pun kena try tau.. we love this place so much tat we came 2 days in row! Hahahaha... jgn kecam.. mmg tak puas mkn the 1st time tat we had to come again the next day🥰. Only 1 thing tat i hope the place will improve is the ventilation and smoke from all the cooking tat lingers into the restaurant which leaves our clothes smelling of charred teriyaki chicken.. hehehe..

Sushi ORI, led by Master Chef Hideaki Oritsuki, is a haven for sushi enthusiasts seeking perfection in every bite. The skilled chefs meticulously craft traditional nigiri and sashimi using seasonal ingredients such as Seiko snow crabs, shirako (cod sperm sacs), and Hiroshima oysters.
Chef Ori respects the inherent flavours of its ingredients. The chef aims to highlight the natural taste of fish, rice, and seaweed, using minimal seasoning to preserve their essence. Good omakase in city of Kuala Lumpur.

This was a great learning experience where I had essentially sampled all the fancy stuff displayed in glass cases labelled 'don't touch/photograph' and more. In just two hours, I was able to experience: - Palette cleanser ginger that was soft and imparted such a gentle flavour, - Mustard that was mellow in heat but had a strong sweet and umami taste, - Freshly grated wasabi, which added just a touch of spice without being overpowering at all, - Octopus, while ordinarily tough and rubbery, that was made so tender after being massaged for a long time, - The intricate preparation of dishes whose ingredients come from various prefectures - The delicate the texture of fresh, seasonal fish that just melts in your mouth, and - A literal explosion of juiciness from top quality fruits. While the food served were undoubtedly of premium quality, I felt that it focused more on texture than flavour - I personally found the light and delicate flavours to be lacking, but it may suit those with a more refined palette. I felt that the service could also be improved as I had my conversation interrupted multiple times when they chose to clear the plates in between, rather than around, the person I was speaking to. Their presence felt excessive as they would refill my green tea when it was still 3/4-full and pass over plates from the chef that were already placed within arms' reach. All this made for a rather stiff and impersonal dining experience. Regardless, Chef Ori was absolutely lovely and worked hard to ensure my evening was as comfortable as possible. His passion for the craft was clear and it was a pleasure listening to him enthusiastically answering our curiousities. If you are eager to experience something new, then Sushi Ori is definitely worth a visit. Direction guidance: The restaurant is hidden deep inside of a shared office complex. Google street view will get you to this building. Once inside, continue straight, take the entrance on the right, and keep walking until you find the restaurant's black wall and wooden sliding door.

He introduced the courses, sharing the locality of the seafood served and accompanying seasonal items. Amazing fresh and delicious sushi (sea bream, horse mackerel, ootoro). Overall amazing experience, definitely worth the spend!

Chef Ori is an immaculate artist at the very top of his game. There are many omakase chefs in Malaysia but none with the longevity and consistent quality like him. The whole omakase experience was a performance for the eyes and the tastebuds. His skill lies in elevating even ordinary dishes like chawanmushi into a completely new stratosphere. The consistency of the egg was so smooth it was like eating cream. Incredible. All of the fish served as sashimi or sushi was undoubtedly fresh and each was sourced based on their seasonality to ensure peak flavour. Chef himself was entertaining, informative and thoroughly engaging. 10/10, as always.

His food has always been good. Nicely newly renovated space. But sometimes he gets distracted whenever he has Japanese customers, he tends to ignore others or somewhat minimal interaction other than his Japanese customers. He would always serve his Japanese first, or make for them separately then prepare bulk for everyone else. Rice is cold also didn’t replace. Green tea doesn’t get replaced even when it’s cold.

Absolutely stunning experience. Michelin guide 2024 recommended. The Omakase was amazing considering the price point and the overall experience fuelled by the interaction with the chef who explained every dish in detail with such enthusiasm and energy. I'll let the pictures hopefully speak for themselves in terms of the variety and presentation. Recommended to book at least in advance (deposit required). Try your best to sit at the sushi bar so that you get the full immersive experience of how the dishes are prepared. A must go and definitely an authentic Japanese dining experience in the heart of KL.

Having recently been to Japan, I can honestly say Sushi ORI's offerings are on par with some of Japan's best. I returned last Sunday for a dinner with my family after nearly a year's hiatus. Not only did Sushi ORI again impress us with their absolutely fresh and delicious Omakase Kohaku but they had completely renovated their restaurant, elevating and refining the overall look (plus new in-house toilets instead of the ones outside that are maintained by Menara Keck Seng). It was an absolute joy to partake of Chef Ori's stunning and expertly prepared seasonal creations that are reasonably priced as far as top omakase restaurants are concerned. All of us went home happy and satisfied. Looking forward to our next visit, hopefully soon.

This omakase is definitely a little treasure hidden in the heart of KL. I’ve been here twice, and they never dissapoint! Service and performance by the chef is amazing. Ori san explain each dish and included little funny jokes each time he presents. Food is BOMB, and really fresh! Presentation is simple yet beautiful. It’s a beautiful omakase. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Ed.Ju Omakase offers an intimate dining experience with just 10 seats at its sushi counter. This unique venue combines modern culinary techniques with traditional omakase roots, creating a delightful and innovative atmosphere. Chef Eddie Ng brings his personal flair to the table by exclusively using aged fish for sushi and sashimi, enhancing flavors and textures akin to high-quality beef aging.
Newly opened in June after their 7mth long renovations. Enjoyed my omakase by their michelin-experienced Japanese chef. Every dish made meticulously - from cut to hand. Thank you for the wonderful service as well. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will visit again when I come to KL!

My visit to the Private Chamber by @ed.ju_restaurant pop-up was underwhelming. Both the sushi offerings and service left much to be desired. The sushi quality was disappointing, with some pieces being soft and mushy, despite their appealing appearance. Opting for the 20-piece sushi set priced at rm430++, I was disappointed to receive only 18 pieces, alongside a bowl of miso soup, a fact I only realized when reviewing my pictures later. Service was lacking, with just one chef handling a group of nine diners, resulting in rushed and hurried service. Adding to the disappointment, they only offered plain water, no green tea ! 🤯 While the sushi deal may sound promising, it was not worth for me. What we had : 1.Madai 2.Shima aji 3.Baby geoduck 4. Prawn - sabah 5.Salmon belly 6.Kinmedai 7.Salmon 8.Hirame 9.Chutoro 10.Scallops 11. Amaebi 12.Akami 13. Saba 14. Unagi 15.Otoro 16. Mud crab 17. Uni 18.Tuna handroll Total : Rm998/2px

Ordered the premium omakase and was truly disappointed with the value of the serving. There are add-on that they will push you to add to the already expensive pricing. For menu was simple and nothing to shout about. Appetiser was simple Japanese vegetables, sushi was ordinary and nothing impressive. For the price I paid, it's not worth it. The place is nice and I must say the service is excellent, that's the only plus point here. Will not go there again

Nice ambience, the lighting is not as good to take photo. Ordered the most premium set, but the food was slightly disappointed, as there’s nothing I feel special to shout out for 😅 but I’m happy that they allowed us to dine in later as I just touched down Kl this evening!

First of all, the food was good and service by the waiting staff was excellent. But when it comes to price point its too pricey for the Portion you get, I've been to many fine dining omakase restaurants which is slightly better pricing/same pricing and the amount of sushi given was more in terms of sushi size and portion than what this restaurant can provide and hey i understand quality comes with a price but others have quality and also quantity. And asking customers to upgrade items on their omakase is such a turn off (hard selling) . ** additional, chefs are talented .
Luke — Google review
Went for their “contaminated” Omakase. That was what they called their experience menu. Overly priced sub-par food. Chefs with Extremely strong taste profile here. With 2 sittings per dinner you get the feeling they are just trying to rush you through ur dinner as quick as possible. They always offer extra “upgrades” at additional costs and will keep asking you to upgrade despite telling them no. Alcohol is only sold by bottles. Makes you feel like water fish. Left the place disappointed at the food and feeling like they only care and target your wallet. Truly disappointing...

Sushi Zanmai The Gardens Mall is known for its good shop standard operating procedures, including checking customer vaccine certificates and maintaining social distancing. Most of the food is delivered contactless, reducing contact with staff. Despite some mixed reviews on food quality, many customers appreciate that the quality has been maintained over time. The ambience remains pleasant and the staff are described as helpful and attentive, making it a place worth returning to.
Spacious outlet with the same expected quality of food you can expect from any other Sushi Zanmai. We really like this chain because the food is good without being too overpriced. Some of my favourites is the Hamachi sashimi, cha soba, chicken karaage rice and Japanese mushrooms with butter.

The abalone, scallop and tuna sushi were terrible and dry. Luckily the manager offered to cancel this order when I asked him why the food looked so dry and tasted so strange. The only good dish there was their signature salmon roll.. tasted fresh. The soft shell crab maki was also a disappointment. Sushi rice at this restaurant is not great. Rather tasteless but the serving staff were attentive and polite.

We love the doraemon robot serving us. nice to receive food from it for the sake of my children. They were intrigued. They gave the whole jug of warm green tea on our table, best! sashimi salad had tiny bit of fishy sashimi smell but overall was really fresh and good with wafu dressing. yumz. my daughter really enjoyed the cawamushi. This place use spot lighting. very very warm dining here. We quickly finish our meal and ran away. Really unbearable. Once we stepped out, we felt much better. I have to praise the restaurant because very rare any eatery has ample space to push in our baby stroller and shopping trolley cart. Best really.

They’ve opened a 2nd branch in this mall. One on the 3rd floor, the cinema floor in Mid V, and the other at LG in Gardens. They must be doing something right… Jo Unagi, soft shell crab maki - I’m very happy that the Unagi and crab were served warm ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Salmon belly - this tasted quite pathetic, and it was served in a pool of water 💔 [New] Maguro & Toro - it’s decent ❤️❤️❤️ and the salmon belly has improved ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sushi Jiro at Mid Valley Megamall is a popular Japanese restaurant known for its affordable and high-quality sushi. Despite the small portion size, the attractive pricing of RM3 per dish makes it a great value. The staff provides fast service even during peak hours, and the Chicken Katsu set is highly recommended for its perfectly fried chicken and accompanying sides like rice, dipping sauce, miso soup, and chawanmushi.
Food was so good, especially the chicken katsu sosaku please try those! Service crews were all so helpful and very fast on our order. My food was served within minutes after I place my order. We even got ice cream dessert on the house, leaving the restaurant with happy face happy tummy ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

My dining experience was very disappointing. From the moment we sat down, the service was lacking. While other tables were asked if they wanted green tea, no one came over to offer us any. I asking for sweet sauce also no provide for me. The food was just okay, nothing exceptional. Don't order salmon, no worth it. Moreover, the dishes were served incredibly slowly, and we had to wait a long time for them to arrive. Overall, the service and dining experience were far below expectations, and it didn’t feel worth the price.

Never coming back again. First and LAST time. Came here to try cause never tried. Honestly Sushi King is better. Why? Food looks and taste depressing. The sushi isnt fresh and presentation wise is just not it at all. Ordered Omu Garlic Rice, it taste local instead of Japanese lol. Not worth it. I was hungry so just ate the egg cause thats the only decent thing that I had to mixed with sweet soy to make it bearable. Rice just left it like that and I hate wasting food but I cant finish it

Food poisoning. 5pm ate there, 9pm diarhea. Ban forever.(the resit i upload their machine time definitely wrong, 2:30pm i not even inside the mall yet) Each piece of sushi the rice weight at least 95% of entire piece. Left with 5% fish weight. But still, they dare to cause me a diarhea. Cost cut and cut. And compromise freshness, until i kena diarhea. Save cost to you break your own reputation? This is how an empire started to fall.
Velcon L — Google review
The service was good, and every employee wore a mask. However, when I looked into the kitchen, I realized their garlic fried rice was already cooked in the rice cooker. They just scooped a spoonful and heated it in the oven. That was a bit unacceptable; no wonder it tasted bland. It's worth mentioning that the sake shio was delicious, very tender and not overcooked.

Sushi Zanmai 1 Mont Kiara offers speedy and friendly service, with a clean environment and a wide selection of delicious food at reasonable prices. The restaurant has introduced a new loyalty app for regular patrons to collect points, with a RM5 voucher offered just for downloading the app. While the food is still good, there may be delays during crowded periods, especially when ordering sushi.
This branch is located in the center of a relatively less crowded shopping mall, giving it a spacious and airy feel. Franchise sushi restaurants are generally quite clean, and this one is no exception. The unagi sushi and unagi donburi were both as delicious as expected, and the cold cha soba we ordered for a refreshing finish was also excellent.

This branch is my usual go to if I want to eat sushi zanmai and I never faced any issues however this time was the first time I was seated at the bar. I noticed every now and then there’d be a whiff old rotting fish. After a while I realized everytime they open the fish display cooler where they store the sashimi, the smell will be super strong. Unfortunately i only realized this after ordering my food. Luckily i didnt order any raw fish, however I did order the Karei Fry sushi and the moment I bit into it my mouth was full of foul fish smell. Immediately i spat it out and they didn’t charge me for it. However I really hope they check their seafood from now onwards and they seriously need to clean that fish display cooler. Probably won’t come back for the foreseeable future.

The service is quick and the prices are very affordable. Many find the quality and taste of the food to be excellent, offering a wide variety at budget-friendly rates. It's advisable to arrive well before opening hours to avoid long lines due to its popularity.

I came here bcz I saw reviews on Google that were 4 stars above. But after I had dinner here, I wondered how come it got even 4 stars? I found that this restaurant is not clean enough bcz I saw lots of stains on their chair. Then, the sushi was not fresh and it was dry. I also saw the wasabi bowl was not clean. Luckily, their staff is friendly and helpful. This is the only good thing about this restaurant. It's enough for me to go here once.

Never dine in, only did takeaway. I like its bento the most. Authentic Japanese taste with reasonable price and good portion. Their ramen is also good, but since I'm not really into ramen, it was just good-to-try. The sushi were good too, but it taste similar to Em**** sushi and given their respective prices, I'd go for the later. LOL. I like their packaging for takeaways: neat & safe while preserving the taste. Repeated order here.

One of our food items was marked as “prepared”, but we never received it. Interestingly, the food we ordered after that was delivered earlier. So, we asked Aini about it, but she completely ignored us and walked away quickly. We pressed the call bell four times, but no one attended to us. It was honestly funny because we were the only customers there—no one else. Eventually, I had to raise my voice to get another staff member’s attention. And guess what? Aini was just inside the kitchen, doing nothing. Terrible service from Aini! Sushi King should definitely train her better!

Touan Japanese Restaurant offers great value for money with its Japanese set meals. While the prices may be slightly higher than other chain restaurants, the quality and portion sizes make it worth it. The standout dish is their chicken karaage, which is described as the best in Malaysia due to its juicy inside and perfectly fried skin with a hint of garlicky-gingery-lemony flavor. Additionally, their Saba and salmon fish set meals are delicious with well-marinated flavors.
We happen to be at Touan after walking around 4th floor of lot 10 all house Japanese resto. It gives us the feel of real japanese establishment. We sit in bar stool, in front of the kitchen. This tonkatsu restaurant in Kuala Lumpur is a rare find, serving katsu don made with Iberico pork, which is not commonly available in the city. The Iberico pork is tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor, giving the dish a premium touch. The portion is huge, perfect for those with a big appetite, and the price is still reasonable considering the quality. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying and elevated version of katsu don.

One of the best value for money Japanese set meals around. The price may be a bit higher than other chain restaurants, but the quality is much better, execution is consistently good and portion is satisfying. Forget about yakitori or other items, the highlight here is their chicken karaage. In my opinion the BEST karaage I’ve had in Malaysia - big pieces, very juicy inside, perfectly fried skin with a tinge of garlicky-gingery-lemony flavour. In addition, the set meals, especially the Saba and salmon fish are delicious with on-point marination. Ramen is decent but nothing spectacular, but it isn’t a ramen specialty place anyway.

Actually I have dined in this restaurant multiple times (years ago) when probably it was at its prime. Now, today our visit simply nauseating! The restaurant so stuffy it requires supporting independent standing air-conditioned, still we were sweating 😓, check out those ceiling photos shared, water marks (not luxury). Limited choices in drinks, as usual son and I ordered orange juice.....horrendous, so sour and bitter for the price (eventually found out they were serving us Marigold orange juice), food was good though, until when I was half way on my beef Bento, I realized the melamine bowls black spot on it red surface. The business so good the bowls are wearing off (check attached photos), no wonder taste good, because we are all eating those melamine coating 🤣🤣🤣. Tried explaining to the workers but haha foreigners, communication seem to be a luxury 😅😅. Anyways, those sceptic about my review, you can check our their bowls for those weariness and yes, those are toxic

Firstly, I would like to commend the chefs for the wonderful food; it was exceptionally fresh and reasonably priced. However, I encountered some issues with the service from the waitress. Unfortunately, there was no greeting or smile, and it felt as though she was annoyed, almost as if I owed her money. I even noticed her yawning at the counter, which was quite off-putting. The most concerning moment came when I asked for a tea refill. I saw her digging her nose before she went into the kitchen to refill my cup, which made me uncomfortable about drinking it. It's important for staff to maintain hygiene and good manners, so I do hope they receive some training in these areas.

The overall service has been satisfactory, making it a promising choice for those craving fresh and delicious sushi in Petaling Jaya.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a great experience dining here! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. You can really feel the care they put into both the service and the food. Will definitely be coming back!

Sushi King is like a budget Japanese restaurant, catering to the mass who has never been to Japan, so don't expect high quality. The food here is just normal, more like below average, but price is like medium to medium-high. This means they take advantage of those who do not know about Japanese food. I gave it one more try in April 2025, and the quality was really below average. Not worth it at all. But of you like it, then by all means, keep visiting the outlets.

Not up to the franchise standards. Food takes forever to arrive and staff are slow to sit down customers (we waited first in line for 10 mins when there’s clearly empty tables). They are too busy attending to the seated customers. I don’t enjoy the tablet for ordering, it crashes sometimes and clearly doesn’t make ordering faster. We only went here because every other good Japanese place was closed during CNY. Definitely not worth the price unless there’s no other option.

I had wonderful dining experience at Sushi king 1 utama. The food was very fresh especially the salmon. The salmon nishoku melted in my mouth. the staff very friendly and attentive. My son really enjoy chicken katsu don. Keep it up sushi king 👍🏻
Nor A — Google review
Horrible experience. The service is awful. I had to wait 15 minutes for my drink and had to remind my waiter twice. The green Tea is more like a diluted bitter water with a ton of honey in it. Who thought adding honey to a cold drink would be a good idea. The chicken katsu curry tasted more like dhal curry and the tempura slides off the chicken. The chicken is extremely hard and a difficulty to chew. This might be my worst experience in sushi king outlets.
Idesmic — Google review
Sushi King at One Utama offers good-tasting sushi with a reasonable price point. However, I found the service to be a bit slow during my visit, which may reflect occasional understaffing. The sushi that is hand-prepared seems to lack the finesse seen at other sushi places I've tried, though the flavor is still enjoyable. Overall, it is a decent option if you are looking for affordable sushi but expect some wait time and slightly inconsistent presentation.

Tasty food, good service and lovely atmosphere. The are many sushi rolls to choose from, big menu with delicious options, the price is also good. Order via QR code. Some of your dishes might be brought by a robot 😃 We have visited this place a few times and will return again 👌

I saw this restaurant while walking in the mall, it looked delicious, so I decided to try the sushi there: 1- The service is good, they even have robots to serve the tables. 2- The employees are so nice and friendly and happy to serve you. 3- When it comes to the food it a bit disappointing, the plates look so delicious but the taste is not that good. While if they serve better quality then the restaurant can be given a 5 stars. 4- The restaurant is very clean, and they have a cute decoration. 5- Thr prices are cheap. 6- They have a good tea selection and it's good.

Busy place. Good service. Clams are nice, and love the Grilled Smelt..reminds me of Japan. Overall pricing is reasonable and do have an extensive menu. This one of many outlets in KL.

Currently under renovation and will re-open in July or so. This place is always buzzing busy but service is good. Food are priced at reasonable range compared to other Japanese restaurants. Love coming here to enjoy the variety of food, relax with edamame and a scoop of their yummy Yuzu ice cream. Can't wait for it to reopen soon.

definitely 5 stars! the food was yum, fresh and well delivered. had the seafood spicy kaisen ramen... stunning! sushi, karaage etc. was great too. definitely highly suggest! 🍣

Chicken not fresh. The soup broth as you can see is too diluted and tastes very bland. Also, it is not hot enough, just warm only. Disappointed. Why the quality drop so much. It was quite nice few years back then. Hope can improve and back to previous level

Love my visits here. Fast & friendly service. Food is still good. Love how they can still maintain the quality.

The sushi was below average. I’ve had better sushi at a local sushi stalls in Kuala Lumpur, so I expected the restaurant to have a better quality but no. The service also wasn’t the best thing about this place. I don’t think I’ll be coming back again. The orange juice wasn’t fresh and the apple juice was too bitter.

Sushi Mentai @ Kuchai Lama is a budget-friendly Japanese restaurant in KL offering a wide range of dishes such as sushi, sashimi, maki, yakimoto, tempura, rice, and noodles at very reasonable prices. Despite the lack of fancy decor and top-notch service, the restaurant provides quick service and decent food.
When it’s come to sushi this is for sure . Economical and lots of variety in their menu.

Good value and reasonably good Japanese food. We had Sanma Shioyaki, salmon mentai dragon maki, unagi don + dashimaki tamago. Generous portion of green tea. Every time we ordered was really delicious, good portion size and reasonably priced. Its was quite full after 6:30 pm for dinner. Toilet available Street parking available but tricky in getting a space.
StudeoM — Google review
One of the worst dining experience in sushi mentai..I found a dead insect (seems like a cockroach ) in my garlic fried rice. Of course, I complained right after and a man who looks seems to be the store manager apologized and promised to serve a new bowl of fried rice for me. He promised a discount for the bill and the rice will be excluded from it. At first, I take it as a compensation and expected the discount to be somewhat high (20% or above) as I might have serious consequences consuming the dead bug. However, I have to keep asking for an update on the rice as all my dishes that were meant to pair with it were cold already. In the end, it took them nearly 20 minutes to re prepare the a single fried rice 🥹 (Rice was only slightly warm when it arrived, meaning it was not served right away once its done). When I pay the bill, I saw they exclude the fried rice (which they promised) and just a 10% discount which total up to only RM 4 discount (kinda disappointed). 10% after all that time wasted and almost consuming a bug, was expecting a better compensation but oh well. Cleanliness was definitely not in the A category, please make sure your kitchen and tools are well cleaned before operating the store. Sekian.

It’s a rotary sushi restaurant. One of our friends recommended here, so we wanted to try. The price is great compared to other rotary sushi chains. It opens exactly at noon on weekdays. We arrived at the location around 10:50am, the sushi belt was already running with many sushi on it…. I am not sure why they made a lot of sushi more than one hour before they open the shop??? Right after we got a table, one of the waiter guys came to our table making a gesture of drinking something. I got what he meant was “what do you want to order for drink?”. But we did not even touch the menu yet. And he did not come back to ask us again later. It was a weird customer service, I thought. In a sushi restaurant, I usually look for very simple nigiri like salmon, tuna, mackerel, eggs. The sushi menu was very limited for nigiri, instead a lot of Mayo-based items. There was one torched salmon nigiri, no tuna or mackerel, and tamago mentai was there on the belt. I did like tamago, torched salmon and unagi sushi. But I could not find much items I wanted to try other than them. I made a mistake and ordered soba plate twice. They could not take it back, no negotiation was allowed. Miso soup was way too big and watery. So customer service was not really there. Very limited selection. Not flexible mind for diners. Some menus are good enough to try. And the price is great. The location was about 15 - 20 mins walk away from Kuchai station. On the way, there was a part where no side walk exits. Without owning a car, we probably better get a Grab for safety. To sum up, if you love Mayo-flavored sushi, or torched salmon, unagi, and tamago mentai, this place is worth a try.

Budget sushi you can enjoy in the town, if you miss sushi you can go for it, Good waiting line arrangement, not long waiting The only disadvantage is the taste is average, but with this price, consider good performance edy, keep the good job 👍 thank you

This is one of the most affordable Japanese restaurants you can find in KL, if not the most. They’ve got a variety of sushi, sashimi, maki, yakimoto, tempura, rice, and noodles, all at really good prices. We ordered 12 plates of sushi from the belt, a plate of curry chicken rice, chicken teppanyaki, takoyaki, korokke, chawanmushi, and a 9-piece sashimi, all for just RM100! More than enough to fill the stomachs of 4 adults! However, don’t expect fancy Japanese décor, top-notch service, or super high-quality food here. It’s not that kind of place. The food is alright, and they are quick with serving it up. Overall, if you’re on a tight budget and craving Japanese food, this is the place to go.

Sushi Mentai at Kuchai is definitely a go-to place for budget-friendly and satisfying Japanese food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, from sushi to tempura, and everything in between. I particularly enjoyed their sushi rolls, which were very tasty and freshly made. Despite the restaurant being crowded during peak hours, the service was efficient and the staff were friendly. One thing I noticed was that people seldom ordered the rolls, which I think is quite good. This means that the rolls were made fresh and on-demand, ensuring their freshness and quality. Overall, Sushi Mentai at Kuchai is a great place to go to for affordable and delicious Japanese cuisine. The prices are very budget-friendly, especially given the quality and quantity of the dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese food and is looking for a good value meal.

Had the ten don here. Tempura was fresh & tasty, good quality overall. Also had the chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu don on separate occasions, and they were all delicious. Restaurant environment was spacious and comfortable.

Sushi Zamai is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants, and the food suits my taste. After so many years, the prices have remained at a mid-range level. For three people, the bill is usually just over RM100. By using their Super Sushi app, you also get a RM10 discount voucher every month. I’ve been eating there continuously for over ten years.

The sushi is nice; I can really taste the freshness of the fish they use. Although it’s a bit more expensive compared to other sushi places, I think the price is worth it. My only concern is the waiting time — I had to wait 30 minutes to get my sushi. Perhaps the management should look into this issue.

Sushi Zanmai used to be one of my favorites, but this branch was disappointing. The quality and experience didn’t match what I’ve come to expect. The soba was very soggy and the tempura lacked crispiness. Portions were quite small, and overall, we expected better given the price.

Sushi King AEON Metro Prima Kepong is a great place to enjoy a meal with family. While the service could be faster, the friendly staff and good overall experience make it worth visiting. The mochi cream puff is especially delicious and highly recommended.
First time at a Sushi King. Not impressed at all. Not too busy but waited a long time to be seated but no one came. Went and found our own table, but no one came. Then realised you’re supposed to order using the little tv screens. But ours was broken. Changed tables, placed order. One dish came quickly, the other about 15 mins later - was just about to leave when it arrived. Food less than average. Disappointing experience.

Will not be going back again. And I recommend you do NOT order yasai tempura. Only mushrooms, 1 slice lotus root and a couple of snowpeas! RM9.90++😝 What a terrible letdown 👎👎👎 For better Authentic yasai Tempura I recommend Sushi Zanmai RM7.80++ better value for money. You can compare for yourself. And yeah snail service even tho only 3 tables!!!

Very lethargic staffs. They will ignore the call bell. Claims to have only one staff working. Many items listed are not available. The menu is for themselves to shiok sendiri. Disappointed to see such a good eatery deteriorated into such bad service, a disgrace to Japan. No other customer but waited more than 30 minutes for ice cream.

Low quality of food and service. I can feel the power of inflation from their food. - the portion of the food, the colour of the salmon , the size of the sashimi sushi

28may24: sushi buffet RM 46.15 include tax. The spicy ramen they use normal yellow noodle instead of ramen. Taste no good.the green tea is tasteless and water not hot enough and thermos spoiled. Base on this price I can get better quality food at sushi mentai. No recommended to eat the buffet.

We came to this Sushi King a long time ago, the service, atmosphere, and food was really good. But not now, now there isn't anyone to greet you, you have to seat yourself. Then we came to find out that you need to use the tablet attached to the table to order. Ordering wasn't much of an issue, but waiting for the food is another story. The sushi came fast but not the sets, we waited around 15 - 20 minutes for the food. The food was ok, it wasn't hot nor warm it was cold. Overall not recommended.

Place was OK clean. The fried chicken don is eating the flour not the chicken. U can see as picture. This is my opinion my own taste. The rest sushi was OK. Green tea is just a plain water taste colour like green tea only.

Sushi Zanmai Pavilion KL is a popular spot that has been open for two years and is already drawing in crowds. The extensive menu offers something for everyone, and the food arrives quickly, often delivered by a robot. Diners appreciate the delicious dishes and generous portions. The restaurant provides ample seating with tables and booths suitable for small to medium-sized groups. Guests also praise the attentive staff who swiftly clear tables, making way for more delightful dishes brought by the efficient robot service.
This Sushi Zanmai branch has better service than the others. We came in a large group, and the manager went out of his way to seat us together, and keeping us updated on the wait time. The food is decent, and the prices are reasonable. I can’t comment on the raw sushi, as I usually order cooked dishes at this chain.

I have certain dietary preferences that make it a bit difficult for me to enjoy Malaysian cuisine, so I often lean toward Japanese dishes or meals I’m more familiar with. From the moment I stepped into this restaurant, I was impressed by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were not only attentive and courteous but also made the entire dining experience feel genuinely thoughtful and relaxed. The menu offered a well-curated selection of dishes, clearly described and easy to navigate — which I greatly appreciated. I chose a few Japanese options, and each dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. You could tell that the ingredients were of high quality and prepared with care and attention to detail. Pricing was reasonable — neither overly expensive nor especially cheap — but considering the excellent service and the quality of the food, I felt it was great value for money. It’s rare to find a place that strikes such a good balance between taste, service, and ambiance. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would happily return. It’s a lovely spot for anyone who values quality dining in a comfortable and inviting setting. Highly recommended!

The sushi quality was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. The menu offered a diverse range of options, from classic rolls to innovative creations, catering to every palate. The ambiance was warm and inviting, ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. Service was prompt and attentive, with friendly staff ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Overall food quality still able to maintain & I would said this branch food quality is much more better compare with KL East mall. 1) Services is good & staff quite attentive & food serving a bit slow since when we dine in,restaurant is full so can’t complaint too much. Need to wait for couples minutes waiting for seated. 2) Food quality able to maintain as last time I visit this restaurant is few years back.

The Japanese concept is really felt, the atmosphere is comfortable, the sushi and other foods are delicious, the serving is quite fast, there is also a delivery robot, however my noodle order took a very long time to arrive, my order arrived after 25-30 minutes, apart from that the staff are friendly.

So good we kept on coming back ! The best gyozas and spring rolls they’re a must. Salmon and sushi to die for. We tried the whole menu and everything is top notch, even their beef ! Just avoid the chicken as it’s quite chewy and not their speciality.

A KL Must-Visit: Sushi Zanmai Never Disappoints Sushi Zanmai has become my absolute go-to destination every single time I visit Kuala Lumpur - and for good reason! This restaurant has consistently delivered exceptional Japanese cuisine that keeps me coming back for more. An Outstanding Unagi Experience On my latest visit, I ordered their unagi (grilled eel) and I can confidently say it was absolutely out of this world. What impressed me most was not just the incredible quality of the eel - which was perfectly grilled with that ideal balance of sweet and savory flavors - but also the generous portion size. You truly get excellent value for your money here. The quality and quantity combination at Sushi Zanmai is unmatched in KL. The eel was tender, flaky, and glazed to perfection with their signature sauce. Every bite was a reminder of why this place has earned its spot as a KL institution. Whether you're a local or just visiting KL, Sushi Zanmai should be on your must-try list. The consistent quality, reasonable prices, and exceptional dishes like their unagi make this restaurant a true gem in the city's dining scene. I'll definitely be back on my next KL trip! Highly recommended for Japanese food lovers, visitors to KL, anyone craving authentic and delicious unagi.
